We purchased a fridge, double stove, dishwasher and cooktop. Spent $20,000 for the package. All 18 months old. Now having issues with control panel on stove. Bosch tech was here today and told us we need to replace control board. $700 in repairs costs. We thought we purchase quality. Looks like we purchased garbage. Stick with GE stuff. Likely to be more reliable for 30% of the cost of Bosch.

After much research and consideration, we decided to invest in what we believed to be a top-quality appliance, Bosch's $2,000 benchmark dishwasher, touted as the best dishwasher one could possibly buy. Our excitement quickly turned to frustration when, within just 30 days of purchase, the dishwasher ceased to clean dishes on the bottom rack effectively. Promptly reaching out to Bosch for assistance, we were hopeful for a swift and satisfactory resolution. A technician was sent to our home, who then proceeded to suggest that the issue stemmed from our misuse of the appliance, advising us to "properly" load the dishwasher and to use the "correct" soap.
It was disappointing and somewhat insulting, as we had already been diligent in following the manufacturer's recommendations, even going so far as to watch instructional videos prior to use. When the initial advice failed to rectify the issue, the technician returned, ran several tests, but was unable to diagnose the problem. Parts were ordered, and we were assured that the repairs would be completed in a couple of weeks. However, nearly two months have passed, and we've been informed that the parts are on backorder with an undetermined arrival date. Throughout this ordeal, we sought a replacement appliance, only to be met with difficult technical support and no viable solution to our predicament.
The level of customer service has been deeply unsatisfactory, especially considering the significant investment made in what we assumed would be a high-quality, reliable product. I am sharing this experience to caution potential buyers. It was our belief that purchasing a more expensive, supposedly superior product from Bosch would ensure a long-lasting, problem-free experience. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. The product quality and customer service have both been incredibly disappointing, and I would advise against making the same mistake we did.

Decided to add this review because I am now in the market for a refrigerator and have decided to buy a Bosch unit. I purchased my stove on January 2016 and have been very happy. This was and has been my only Bosch appliance thus far, and I have not had any problem with it. This stove was a game changer because I dislike electric top stoves. I love the dual functions of having a gas top and a convection electric oven. I use the gas burners less than the electric oven. With a family of 5, I have used the stove so much in the last 8 years and no problems, thank God.
I love my Bosch and will now get a matching refrigerator, and hope not to be disappointed! Bosch 800 Series HGS80-5UC 4.8 cu. ft., large oven capacity allows you to bake multiple dishes at once so you save time in the kitchen. 5-burner gas cooktop includes a powerful 18,000 BTU center burner to speed up cooking time. Temperature conversion for convection cooking eliminates the guesswork when baking.

I purchased 2 top of the line crystal dry dishwashers from Bosch about 1 year ago. 1 has cleans ok (not great but ok). The other has not cleaned properly since it was purchased. Bosh originally said that the heating element was bad and had it replaced. It still doesn't work. I've spent dozens of hours on the phone with Bosch trying to get it serviced. I was told that they don't service my area (Main Line Philadelphia) and that I need to have an authorized provider fix it but their providers are booked and won't service it. After more calls to Bosch, they said they arranged to have their provider come fix it, but I never heard back. I followed up and was told service would be scheduled but again it was not. This has been going on for months.
On Friday, I received another copy of a email from Bosch approving the "discount" for my appliance repair and stating the customer case number and servicer phone number, but the servicer said that Bosch never sent them dispatch authorization. This has not the first time this has happened. I am now stuck with a defective built-in $1,200 dishwasher and have spent an insane amount of time and energy trying to have it fixed. Incredibly disappointing. Do NOT buy Bosch.

We have recently decided to throw in the towel on Bosch Appliances. In part because we seemed to have purchased a lemon – gas oven range (Model HGIP056UC/03) that experienced multiple failures. The other factor in our decision was the poor Bosch customer service. The range was purchased new and in the short 2.5 years that we have owned it, there have been 3 unrelated failures. The warming drawer had a mechanical failure; some piece on the back drawer hinge broke and it would not operate properly. This happened within the 1 year warranty period. The second failure was the main control board, which happened after the first year of operation and prior to the range being in service 2 years. Bosch’s less than stellar warranty did not cover the control panel failure and we were forced to pay $450 to have it replaced.
The latest failure we experienced is the oven igniter. I could replace the igniter but why deal with yet another problem with this product that it should not be experiencing so soon. After multiple calls to Bosch service support personnel (note that they are all nice but essentially powerless to make decisions and never return phone calls), we requested the range be replaced. After many calls back, they denied the replacement and instead offered us a proration (essentially a rebate on their estimated prorated value of our range) toward purchase of the identical model. We were told that someone from Bosch’s “Appliance Replacement Team” would be in touch with us in about 3 days to arrange our discounted purchase and delivery of the same model.
After more than two weeks, we received an emailed offer letter asking us for $589 plus taxes to replace our range. Note that the offer did not include installation nor haul away (estimated $300) of our inoperative oven. We quickly decided not to accept the offer and will be moving forward with a different manufacturer. If the goal of Bosch service team management is to drive customers away with poor and slow service (oven inoperative for over 3 months), they have accomplished that with us. And as the rest of our Bosch appliances wear out (or fail), we will be switching to another brand that is made in the USA with a much better warranty.

It was absolutely horrible!! We sent them serial numbers after contacting the company sending us the information and still the serial numbers were wrong!! The information on the appliances makes it so difficult to give the correct serial numbers!! I believe you really don’t want us to get the rebate!! This is the worst possible experience I have ever had! Because of this I will never buy Bosch appliances again and not recommend them to anyone else!!!

I own a Bosch French refrigerator 800 series. What a waste of money. For the price of this refrigerator it is made incredibly poorly. For example, in order to close the refrigerator on the right side there is this attachment that more or less rotates its snaps in order to keep the door closed. After less than six months, this piece broke and had to be replaced. I could not go through Bosch itself as it had no service in my area and they wanted to direct me to another service under them. Instead, I went to the company I purchased it from and they sent one of their technicians and replaced that part. Two weeks later the same issue is occurring.
It is obvious to me that this is a poorly made part that just cannot handle the constant opening and closing of a refrigerator. On top of this, there is an issue in the top portion of the refrigerator. On the bottom portion of it there is a drawer that is the worst plastic I’ve ever seen and does not fit and does not line up and cannot be taken out to be cleaned because it doesn’t go back incorrectly. For the thousands of dollars I spent I have serious buyer's remorse.

Overall I am less than pleased with my Bosch French door refrigerator. Mostly has to do with cleaning. There is no way to get the glass atop the crisper drawers out to clean it without breaking the tabs that hold it in. So within the first 6 months I had to break the tabs because stuff can leak underneath it. Gross. Just got off the phone with 2 different customer reps. There is a ledge on the crisper drawers that is semi sealed so junk can accumulate in this space and there is no way to clean it. Customer service very unhelpful saying if it's not in the manual. They could not advise how to clean it. Also the filter cartridge for the ice maker's cover broke off when changing the ice filter. I will never buy a Bosch refrigerator again.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher during Covid, with the extended warranty. The first call in for repair shortly after the purchase resulted in then ASSIGNING me a date for the repair -with no input from me- was on a date when most Co-Op buildings in Manhattan do not allow service, I figured out what was wrong and did not require any service. The second call, about a year later, resulted in them ASSIGNING me a service date when my wife was due to have surgery-again, I was able to make the repair on my own. For both of those repairs, what I really needed was to speak to someone who could easily tell me how to service the product. No parts were needed, just someone who I could speak with.
Now I have a real problem that requires service. The on-line manual does not even show the error E-15 that showed up on the panel. When I entered the product name and the error message on-line, I got the message that there was water in the system that is due to clog. Ok, now at least I know how to clean the filter, and check for a simple clog, but the error message continues. Now I am waiting for a call back from the service company, but am very unhappy with the attitude of the company.

Horrific customer service experience. The freezer iced up in less than 2 years owing to defective drawer guides. Bosch refused to credit for the parts after 3 months of a runaround from customer service. The technician agreed they were defective as he'd had several recent calls for the same issue. Told I was going to be reimbursed and then got a nonsensical explanation as to why they weren't going to reimburse us. These are not inexpensive appliances but they are not built with quality. The ice maker is now making a knocking noise and this will be our last Bosch appliance. Beware!

The rep informed me that Bosch does not provide any instruction material for replacement parts, I had to pay a Bosch tech. I'm a fairly handy person, why should I pay someone else. I trusted Bosch, when I purchased the dishwasher to advise me on these repairs. I've replaced parts on washers, dryers, stoves, etc, a front panel shouldn't be too difficult...just needed a starting point, or diagram of screw locations. Not everyone wants to pay someone else to do repairs.

Updated on 3/2/2024: Our rating would be -5. One star as we cannot give less. September 28 2023 we called in for our Bosch refrigerator. A service call of $219.00 was charged. The tech identified that the ice cube maker had to be replaced and the control PC board as well. Possible cost of $ 1200.00. We paid and he left. 1 month later no news, no written estimate, no follow up from customer service. After multiple attempts with infinite patience trying to talk to someone we finally called another service tech. Our problem was fixed same day. The thermostat was defective and replaced. Bosch service told us that parts were on order. Feb. 2024 still waiting for some answers from Bosch service. A real Joke. This is what incompetence associated with disorganization can provide. This is called Bosch.
Original review: We believed that customer care with Bosch was up to the Quality expected. WRONG. If you call be patient. At least an hour on the phone to speak with a rep. The technician finally came. Took some pictures of labels. Established that the PC Board and the ice maker has to be change. (Oct.6) Approx.. Cost $1200.00 and cashed $335.00. Never received a quote conf. Not a call back to advise when parts will come. 3 months later no calls no parts. We called a local appliance tech. service. In fact there was no Problem with the PC board. Just a defective thermostat. All back to normal. You cannot talk to CS at Bosch. They are useless.

Have a Bosch wall oven that is a few years old. It had stopped heating properly and called a service tech to come and assess the issue. Upon arrival and diagnosing the issue, the tech found that the baking element had somehow welded to the oven frame. For an element to weld it has to be somewhere greater than 900 C. It took me almost 5 months for bosch to look into the matter, during which time I responded to around 5 different demands for info (most of which I had already provided). The service was appalling and their reaction to the oven that could have burned down a house, was that it shouldn't have happened. Further to this, they then offered 11% off of a new $4,000 oven. This oven was defective and dangerous - most ovens have a 550 F maximum and this oven went somewhere above 900 C (or roughly 1700 F) and all bosch said was it shouldn't have happened. They took no responsibility.
I wanted a replacement and for them to take back the old oven and figure out why it went so out of control, but they didn't react and refused to determine the issue. I generally expect good things from bosch, however, having dealt with them first hand, I can say they do not back their product and they have atrocious support systems to help the customer. Spend your money on any other brand than bosch - they are junk.

Got conned into purchasing a Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator from Lowe's; it was 50% off original price; no wonder, everyone else was smart enough to check reviews before buying. Sales staff praised Bosch. We had always heard Bosch had outstanding quality, but that must have been quite a while ago. Have had nothing but issues. Had the Refrigerator delivered to a new home about 3 weeks before we moved in.
MAJOR Issue is that the Refrigerator TRIPS the BREAKER! Multiple times. Had our electrician out, replace the breaker just out of caution, and it continues to happen. HUGE SAFETY ISSUE not to speak of having to move food out of the Bosch frig into a much less expensive Frigidaire we purchased for the garage, emptying trays in the door because water collects in them, and interior drawers that get stuck and won't open and a right door that has to be pushed VERY HARD to close. The WIFI app never alerted us the appliance was not functioning. Even though we purchased a 5 year extended warranty there is no help. Absolutely avoid Bosch appliances!

For these company to have such stellar reviews I'm surprised I had to wait 2 weeks for a repair appointment. And the cost was prohibitive. $159 to walk in the door, then $10 per minute for the repair. Person needed to go back out to his car (yes car, no truck with a logo) to get a step ladder to reach my microwave. After finding the repair needed, showed me an invoice with only a total - no breakdown of the cost of how he came up with just under $300. He explained to me the part which broke is used in all microwaves and is often what breaks. You'd think for the value Bosch claims to have they would address this issue.

After several service visits, and unit replacements, Bosch has no answer to this problem. Only one of the company servicemen was able to give us any valuable assistance. I thought they were the best. They have a recall on many dishwashers due to the junction box. In all cases the center terminal of the three burns out causing a fire. They are not recalling all of these, just some, in fact I think the recall stopped in 2017. They are blaming the electricians who installed it, even though it is a known manufacturer's default. I had a licensed electrician here who said that it had nothing to do with installation, it was a faulty box (he did not install it fyi).
It gets worse. They made us wait two weeks, sent a technician. He would not replace, blamed the electrician. I argued, he said, it's not me, it's what I have to tell you. Then explained that we were being charged for the call - what I mean is, on his notes it said to charge us. The woman we spoke to told me, if it is not the junction box you will be charged.
To recap: the appliance almost started a fire. Other units have. They are not recalling defective, fire starting, units. They are then telling you that they will come out to see what the issue is, when they already know what the issue is, it's a recalled junction box. They then will not repair it, they will give you the part, charge you, and leave. He did not charge us because he knew it was wrong. How the heck is this happening in 2023. Do not buy Bosch, they are a crafty company with no regard for their appliances or the safety of the families buying their products.

Then the water alarm that we keep beside all our water products (washing machine, ice maker, refrigerator, etc…) went off in the middle of the night. Turned off the water supply and long story short, tank had rusted through. See pictures. So we contacted Bosch for warranty repair. We get told to take the unit apart and send pictures of the anode rod. Now to do this we have to remove the entire unit, drain and disassemble. Bosch then tells us we did not inspect and replace the anode rod annually, so the warranty is void. But we can happily sell you a new one for only $160 (originally paid $154 for this unit). Called Bosch, asked for a tech to come out and look, he did and wrote a report and took photos. Because he could scrape the rust spot off with his fingernail, they are declining to replace it. You can scrape some of the rust off, but the spots are still there. The Warranty says they warranty "the Product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 365 days" This is clearly not the case.
This has been a horrible experience and I could write so much about their customer service and the hoops I have had to jump through, "oh you need to send us this..." Why after the second call they didn't just give me a list of what I need to send in? Finally, I asked and sent in all supporting materials they needed, but it felt like I was being jerked around to extend time or maybe they were trying to get me to give up. I feel so angry that it is rusting on the top and the person who declined it treated me like it was something I did or maybe it wasn't really rust. It is rust. One of the first customer service people I spoke with told me they will replace it when it rust all the way through. But that isn't what the warranty says.
Wish I had bought Home Depot's extended warranty. If you have a tech come look at appliance, be sure to read their report before they leave and have them be very clear. Also, be sure you get an authorization from Bosch for the tech to come or Bosch won't pay for it. I did that because the representative from the Appliance Hospital told me to. The construction of this dishwasher had a plastic pocket handle on it and it started cracking within a couple years. I lived with it. It cleaned okay but the drying was not good, and I did have to rinse everything before I put them in. When I replaced this dishwasher I didn't buy another Bosch since they are pricey and it was only average. I bought a Kitchenaid and am very pleased with it so far. If you decide to purchase a Bosch, buy one with a bar handle. I have read many reviews stating the plastic pocket handle cracked after a short time as mine did.

We built a home last year and the builder installed all Bosch Appliances. I was so excited because it felt like a huge upgrade. Unfortunately, the dishwasher was a complete disappointment and I later learned that the 100 series is the low end. The drying was abysmal and a lot of my dishes wouldn’t get clean. However, what made it worse was the Customer Care department. They said all the right things — at first — like they were committed to ensuring we were happy with our product. Months and months later, with no further follow up by Bosch customer care despite repeated promises to call back, we finally just worked it out with the builder to get it replaced. My final conversation with Bosch customer care was at least honest. The woman said, "Sorry we can’t help you."

Save the planet. Don't buy Bosch appliances because they are made for the landfill. My Bosch fridge died at a ripe old age of 3 years! Yes, 3 years and it had to be replaced as it got carted off to the landfill. I bought an LG and haven't been happier. Bosch double wall oven died at 5 years. No hard usage but had to replace the main board 3 times. The repair man said that it is likely due to the high heat from the self clean that fries the board. But it does not make sense to have a function that you cannot use?! As it appeared the board had to replaced again (4th time), we got fed up and again, sent it packing to the landfill. Now we've ordered a Samsung double wall oven. Even our local appliance repair man told us that out of all the brands, Bosch appliances have the highest amount of repairs.

We purchased a new stacking washer/dryer. The washer looked fine, but the dryer arrived with patches of bubbling, uneven paint surface. Within a year, that bubbling paint began to turn into rust. We’ve been contacting the Bosch customer service center since 2020 to get an exchange because the rust has spread and grown, as rust does, even in our dry Los Angeles climate.
Ostensibly, Bosch has a customer service line. Ostensibly, it looks like they’re there to help. However, each customer service agent that took the case has dropped the ball, and we’ve had to open new inquiries which requires an extraordinary waste of time. The rust has spread around the outside and inside the Bosch dryer (see photo), and has recently spread down to the metal stacking kit. The way it’s spreading, it looks as if it will probably hit the washer that it sits on top of, as well. Aside from answering calls and opening case report after case report, Bosch has done nothing to actually remedy the situation.

We bought a brand new Bosch speed oven for our new renovated home about a year ago. The oven did not heat up from the first day. Within the last few months Bosch sent its technicians three times and changed different random parts and still they cannot figure out what is wrong. In the last visit the technician called their support line and while they were in my house and asked got additional help but they could not help him. Finally, the technician said he reports that he could not fix it and let the company decide what to do. We called the company couple of weeks later telling them that we have not heard from you and we cannot accept that after one year of having a new speed oven you have not been able to fix it.
By our surprise the lady on the phone said that the technician has reported that we did not let him to contact support to help him. The customer service said that they open a dispute case and we should call again to inquire about their decision. As you can see our experience with the product and also the company customer service is very far from acceptable. I strongly suggest stay away from buying Bosch products as it seems something has gone extremely wrong with the company and their products.

Original Review: I purchased a Bosch Refrigerator three years ago for just under $3,000, and have had to have it serviced six (6) times. Now, the service technician requested for a product replacement, and Bosch won't do anything. And, I have the extended warranty purchased through Bosch. I spent more than 2 hours in one day on the phone trying to get any response beyond the initial customer service person apologizing only to put me back on hold for the tech department who never answered the phone.
I finally got a direct email address and threatened them with legal action and then they finally emailed me back asking for a serial number that was unreadable due to its placement behind part of the device itself. I sent them a picture of the unit showing them the unreadable number and the unit and got another "sorry" from them a few days later. A production company can not have equipment down for this long a period of time. It's been just over 1 year since my Bosch appliance package was installed in my newly remodeled kitchen. At first, it looked beautiful. Now the finish is corroded; I have only used Bosch products on it (degreaser for cleaning as recommended by Bosch, and conditioner). Now the squares where their sticky signs were stuck to it are showing up. Almost daily the corrosion spreads covering all doors in splotches and discoloration!
Customer svc response: "This is out of warranty. Management decided they would give you 50% off on new doors to install - 4 doors = $600+." I asked to speak to "management", as this is unacceptable. Answer from Customer Support: "There is no one else you can talk to; it all goes through me". I asked how she would feel in my situation. Her response: "I have no opinion". Then interrupted and cut me off because she said "I have other customers to take care of". Really, this is customer support?? Luckily, this convo was recorded!
Conclusion: I have a $3000 refrigerator with blotched finish, outlines of stickers PUT ON BY BOSCH, yet Bosch takes no responsibility for their actions or attempt to uphold the Lifetime of Quality promise on their website. Management hides behind Customer Support who is completely useless. Bosch is resting on their laurels; it used to be a name that did represent good quality. Not any more. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON BOSCH PRODUCTS. Poor quality; nonexistent customer support.
I ask Bosch: How much would it cost you to send me those doors if at 50% off, they cost $600? What would your cost be? What would your cost be to send a service person to see if there is an easier fix? How much is your cost for negative feedback? Even if I had not paid extra for extended warranty (now we see why they offer extended warranty - you will need it), what would you have gained if you had fixed my problem that you had caused to begin with? How much good will and free advertising would you have gained from spending your cost of a door? I would have been so happy and told others whenever the topic of kitchens, appliances, remodeling come up - which is frequent - about Bosch and what they did for me. Now? The opposite. I write this review here and hope it dissuades future shoppers from buying Bosch. I write in my neighborhood community newsletter. I tell anyone who asks about my new kitchen - DON'T BUY BOSCH.

I bought a Bosch oven, model HGI8056UC/01. After two years it stopped working and I figured out that it was a faulty bake igniter. Per the instructions on the oven and Bosch's website, I called 800-944-2904 six times over the next several days but I was not able to reach anyone. Hold times ranged from 30-50 minutes before I gave up and the total hold time was 4 hours & 35 minutes. As a result, I ordered a replacement bake igniter from Amazon and replaced it myself.
Today (February 23) I tried calling Bosch again to ask for reimbursement for their faulty part or at least a replacement. This time, I was able to reach someone after waiting for 35 minutes but that person was unable to help. She put me on hold for another 40 minutes before I reached someone else. That person informed me that Bosch would not help because I replaced the part myself. She told me that I would have had to speak to someone at their customer service number first for them to be willing to reimburse me or replace the part. I asked how that could be a reasonable solution when I'd already held for over 4.5 hours and the response was that I should have just waited longer.
So in summary, Bosch sold me a defective appliance, made me waste nearly six hours on the phone, and then justified their refusal to replace it by saying I should have spent more than 6 hours dealing with their abysmal and/or nonexistent customer service department. This is unrelated but we also have a Bosch refrigerator and it's the worst refrigerator I've ever owned. I purchased a Bosch refrigerator last year (installed in the middle of November of 2021). The fridge is 800 series with a special "fingerprint resistant" coating. Today, which is only a year later, the fridge's upper coating is peeling exposing lighter-color metal underneath (see pictures). I called Bosch and shared that with them. I waited for 45 minutes, then spoke to three customer "service" representatives. Each conversation was getting worse as the level of management was going up in terms of the quality of customer "service." The last "manager" I spoke to by the name Kiki directly blamed me for the defect claiming that I had used chemicals on the coating (I do not use any chemicals in my household), and essentially avoiding accountability for what is clearly a factory defect.
The coating should not be peeling! Kiki, the higher-level manager, told me she was the only manager I could talk to, which I found strange, and put all the responsibility for this flaw on me. I was told I would be fully "liable" for changing the freezer door and also for the technician to come out and assess the defect. I believe that it is the responsibility of Bosch to replace the faulty doors with defective coating. The coating in NOT fingerprint resistant, in the first place.
I am happy to take videos and pictures to demonstrate. Fingerprints are extremely visible on it. But I do not wash the door with anything, no chemicals. We use a dry soft "dust" cloth that we use on delicate furniture to remove the fingerprints. I have read about this issue online and other people have had the same issue with 800 series and fingerprint resistant coating. Please advise how I can find resolution. Am I expected to keep paying over 1k a year for new doors for this fridge, or is it expected to look like this, even though the aesthetics is the most "expensive" part of this fridge? This is a new fridge that is expected to look good for longer than a year. The fridge was in 3800K price range.

The Bosh 500 Series 44- Decibel Top Control 24-in Built-in Dishwasher is a well-constructed quiet dishwasher, which cleans effectively. Although, I would not purchase this model again based on the the PurDry Condensation Drying System. There are no elements for drying which causes the inside of the unit and cups and glasses to be wet at the end of the cycle. This also creates an unpleasant smell when you open the door after cleaning. Bosh indicates it is normal for the inside of the dishwasher to remain wet after the cycle is completed, this is how it is designed. The moisture will eventually evaporate. If you want to speed up the amount of time it takes for the interior of the dishwasher to dry, you can open the door after the cycle is complete. Allowing outside air to circulate into the dishwasher will dry the interior more quickly.
Bosch also says you do not need to be concerned with mold growing inside of your dishwasher because with the condensation drying system, it is designed to be wet inside the unit after the cycle has completed. This drying system may be environmentally friendly, but is very ineffective for actual use, having to dry the tops of cups and classes before removing them from the dishwasher and encountering an unpleasant smell.

Worst experience and customer service I have ever had dealing with a company. We had previously been a big supporter of Bosch, but I can confidently say I will never be buying another product from them after this experience. If you are considering a Bosch product, recommend going with literally any other option. Below are the details on the situation we dealt with.
We bought a new Bosch dishwasher that was delivered on August 18, 2022. Dishwasher would not run despite being brand new. We attempted to troubleshoot based on internet instructions but with no luck. We made a service appointment. When the technician came out a week later we learned there was an issue with a part (believe it was the water sensor which stopped it from running). A similar model to ours was recalled over an issue with the same part, though for whatever reason there was no recall on our model even though we were having the same issue. It took over a month for this part to become available.
Some time in late September we finally heard back that the part was available. We schedule an appointment and despite the service tech calling me that day to confirm, he never showed up. A previous call he was on had some complications which made him unable to meet our scheduled appointment, which is understandable, but still a phone call or notice would have been nice, as I waited around that afternoon in case he would show up.
Fast forward a week or so later (each time an appointment was scheduled it was at least one week out due to how busy the service techs are - again understandable, but very frustrating when our previous appointment was neglected and then we had to re-enter and wait in the back of the queue again) the technician comes by to fix our dishwasher. Turns out the Bosch warehouse gave him the wrong part - so despite him trying to troubleshoot via some other methods, we remained without a working dishwasher.
A new appointment was made another week or so later. He had returned the incorrect part back to Bosch the previous week, and then when he went to get the proper part, they handed him the exact same wrong part - so he had to call us that day to let us know that once again we would need to reschedule another appointment because he still did not have the proper part (you can’t make this stuff up).
Finally, the next appointment another week or so after that, the technician had the proper part and was able to complete the installation and give us a working dishwasher. This was on October 31, 2022 - a full 2.5 months after the dishwasher was originally delivered on August 18, 2022. Keep in mind that our old dishwasher (which was not great, but at least worked) was taken away to make room for the new one, meaning 2.5 months of having to hand wash dishes due to these issues.
While voicing my displeasure throughout the process over how ridiculously long it was taking for them to provide me a working dishwasher, I was told I would have to wait until the end if I wanted to make a compensation request. A couple of the support people I spoke to throughout the process were genuinely nice, understanding and helpful, but others were very rude and short to deal with. I am not the type to leave reviews like this - and I could have lived with this entire ordeal had their customer service acknowledged the poor situation we were put in and made a fair compensation offer for the trouble.
Finally I received their compensation request: a 6 month extended warranty. Considering I didn't get to use the dishwasher for almost the first 3 months, this was basically a 3 month warranty extension - not nothing, but basically nothing considering I had to hand wash all our dishes for 2.5 months simply because I had chosen to buy their faulty dishwasher.
I called to voice my displeasure that this was all they offered me. I was told I should hear back in the next day or so. A week went by with no contact, so I called to follow up. I was told that my request for additional (or "real compensation") was denied. They never reached out to me, which was consistent in this whole process - I would always have to reach back out to them for any answers. I asked who I could speak to as I was very displeased with this outcome. The service person I spoke to was very rude and said there was no one I could speak with, the decision was final, and no additional compensation would be offered.
So that was that. A full 2.5 months without a dishwasher because I chose Bosch, and all they saw fit to offer me was an additional 3.5 months in warranty for the inconvenience. Worst experience and customer service I have ever had dealing with a company. We had previously been a big supporter of Bosch, but I can confidently say I will never be buying another product from them after this experience. If you are considering a Bosch product, recommend going with literally any other option.

I purchased a Bosch 800 series dishwasher (SHPM78Z55N/01) less than three years ago because I was excited about Bosch's new drying system. The dishwasher is as quiet as advertised - but the drying system is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. About 13 months after installation, the Zeolite nut and ring broke. $300 (with a certified technician) and over a month later because the parts were on backorder, we had a functioning dishwasher again. Now, just about 18 months later, we got an error code E07, and it turns out the Zeolite container and fan are broken. The estimated repair cost is $600, and the parts are on backorder AGAIN!
I asked customer service for a credit for the repairs, which they denied. They said they could possibly consider a replacement unit but it would likely take 6-12 months and was not a guarantee that they would approve it. All of this despite the fact that our certified technician said they are dealing with repairs for this Zeolite system all the time. So in less than three years we will have spent enough money on repairs to buy an entirely new unit and will have spent likely several months without a functioning dishwasher. Definitely NOT worth it.

We purchased a Bosch range three years ago from a local appliance store and bought the extended warranty (something we rarely do). This range features a front display panel which turned out to be a very poor design feature, as any spills on the cooktop can -- and do -- seep into the panel. There is no seal to prevent this. It happened twice to us. First time it came back on its own; second time, not so lucky. Shorted out the board and the oven didn't work at all. The cooktop worked but an incessant beeping sound made it maddening to work with. We had to shut the breaker. The oven was still under warranty so we called the store and went through the process to put in a claim. We were warned it could be "up to a month" before we were helped.
Meantime, we ordered a board online for $150 and paid for express shipping, then called a local repair guy who did the work in about 20 minutes for $100. Actually cheaper than the original extended warranty! Then we put a thin line of silicone into the gap to prevent this from happening again. A week out and we still haven't heard from the warranty repair shop. Bottom line: Don't purchase a range with a front display panel from any company, and don't purchase an extended warranty from Bosch.

It is too unfair and unreasonable to me, in between these 8 to 16 weeks I have to wash by my own hands and I am allergic of detergents and gloves, and that is the reasons I needed a dishwasher, if whoever want to buy a new dishwasher, don't buy Bosch, just a piece of garbage.

I bought a Bosch Dishwasher (SHXN8U55UC/07 FD960301026) from a Sears at the mall in Wilmington, NC. I paid just under two thousand for it. It was supposed to be delivered and installed. It got dropped off at the end of my driveway and after about a week I wound up putting it in myself. Since we were replacing a Kenmore that we had for 12 years we were initially happy with the new machine. Then the liquid soap compartment sprung a leak (first year we had it). We called Bosch to arrange a repairman. They said that there were none in our area. I eventually took it out and hauled it to a repair guy in Whiteville, NC. It was an old guy who did the repairs. I had to pay. Right at the four-year mark it quit working, error code E:15. I called Bosch and was again informed that there were no repair guys in my area. I called the old guy in Whiteville, NC but he had retired. We just started doing dishes by hand since the COVIDS was going on.
After society got past the pandemic, I hauled it down to each of the three authorized Bosch appliance repair places in Wilmington, NC and each of them turned me away! Their collective reply is that, "WE DON'T WORK ON THEM IN OUR SHOP - ONLY AT YOUR HOME AND YOU ARE OUT OF OUR AREA." I am 21 miles from the nearest one of them! I eventually took it to a place called ISLAND APPLIANCE REPAIR in Navassa, NC. They charged me for a diagnostic and said they couldn't find a problem. I went and picked it up and brought it home and reinstalled it. It immediately went to the E:15 code. I took it out and hauled it back to ISLAND APPLIANCE REPAIR. They looked at it then charged me to replace a water valve, a float switch, and somehow the electric wiring harness now needed to be replaced. I went and picked it up, drove it home and reinstalled it. Error code E:15 then the digital display quit working.
My take on this is that BOSCH will not help you. That leaves you with the responsibility of installation/removal and transportation to a sketchy business to try and get it repaired. My recommendation to you is to just buy a Chinese appliance for 1/3 the price and when it breaks down in about five years, simply throw it away and buy a new one. You will save money and stress in the long run! As I write this review I have been on hold with the Bosch repair people for 83 minutes! It's funny that their recorded excuse line is still blaming the pandemic for their lack of ability to answer a phone!

We bought a range from them 12 months ago. Once installed the oven never worked. We spent hours on calls with them trouble shooting, sending photos, proof of purchase, everything. We had a repair person certified by them come out 7+ times. My wife has broke down crying on more than one occasion - just completely defeated by what they make you go through.
For months they tried to blame their repair company for lack of documentation, not knowing the repair company cc'd us on emails. Finally on May 9th, they finally told us we were approved to get the oven replaced. I was told it could take a few weeks. I called them in July frustrated because no one had called us yet. I had a great rep who admitted they are terrible with stuff like this. He told me it was a supply chain issue (from a script), but when I told him I was able to purchase a brand new one still he said, yeah, unfortunately new customers are in the front of line. He was very helpful and got a hold of someone from the department. They were supposed to deliver in three weeks. Now we're at 4+ weeks. I called again and they seem to now know what's going on. Avoid this company like the plague. They are terrible!

If it wasn't for the Best Buy 3 year warranty, the appliances problems would have cost more than the $3500 that we paid for both the pieces of garbage. The dishwasher has been repaired 6+ times. The refrigerator at least 6 as well. Now the cheap $30 icemaker tray is broke (last Christmas) and now the part isn't expected to be in stock until Nov. I'm not sure what's worse, the product or the service. I'm not really sure how these people expect consumers to put up with this. Huge mistake in buying these appliances. Think twice before buying from Bosch. If something goes wrong their tech support is THE WORST (especially compared to a company like Miele). The following is an account of the incredible saga which has not yet been resolved and which has left me with a poorly/semi functioning cooktop for more than half a year and has cost me just over $1000 in repairs and an untold amount of time.
December 22, 2021. After failing to show for an earlier appointment, Tech Eddie shows up without any parts to repair a cooktop which was already reported as being cracked at the top left corner. He confirmed what we had already described and said we would have to wait a month for the parts to arrive. January 24, 2022. Tech Eddie comes and replaces the cooktop glass, but the sensors do not appear to be working as they were earlier. When Eddie is told this he brushes it off saying something to the effect “Oh no you just got to fiddle with them, they work.”
It is later discovered that not only are the sensors slow to respond, the “speed boost” setting does not work on any of the burners, and two burners weren’t working at all. 2/5th of the machine was (and still is) completely dead. We placed a service call at the beginning of February but were told the tech couldn’t come until March.
March 2, 2022. March rolls around and Eddie shows up. Not to fix the cooktop, as we had rationally assumed, but to diagnose the problem. He does not even look at the cooktop before telling me he would have to return with parts. Again, I want to stress, this was not based on looking at the cooktop, this was just on hearing me describe to him the exact thing I had told tech support a month earlier.
Eddie tells us he will have to come back with parts and that it will cost us several hundred dollars. I told him that we paid over $1000 to fix a crack and that while he fixed the crack he left us with a cooktop that no longer fully functioned. I said this is on Bosch. He said how could he know the crack didn’t cause it. I pointed out that he could know because everything was working while it was cracked and that it was only after that all the issues began. He said HE didn’t know that, essentially calling me a liar. I told him that he could have tested it before working on it or at the very least tested it before leaving. He eventually relented and said stuff like “I got you, brother. I’m gonna hook you up, brother” stuff like that. It was insulting because I am not looking to be “hooked up” I am simply looking to be treated fairly, to have the repairs done correctly and not have my time continually wasted.
Before he left I asked if he could at least look at the cooktop because maybe it’s as simple as something not being connected beneath. He seemed too pressed for time and said it would be a huge production to do so. He would have to remove the oven and then it would just be a whole lotta time and he was sure (I have no idea how) that it just needed new parts. He said the best he could do was have me show him how it wasn’t working. I told him that was ridiculous, because it will just be me showing him what I told him. He wanted me to do it anyway, perhaps to ensure that I wasn’t lying or crazy. As it turned out, I was not lying or crazy, the cooktop didn’t work in exactly the way I had told him and the way I had told tech support a month earlier. Eddie leaves assuring us that “he’s got us”. He says he’ll call in a couple days with a new appointment.
A couple days later: no word from Eddie A couple days after that: still no word. So we call Bosch and are told there are no appointments until April. Since April and May we would be in and out of Los Angeles, we schedule an appointment for May 31st, when we know for certain we will be here. May 30, 2022. Eddie calls at around 9pm to confirm the appointment the next day saying “good morning” though it was evening. Eddie says he will be at our place between 8am and 1pm the next day.
May 31, 2022. Instead of showing up as he said he would, Eddie calls. He says he doesn’t have the parts, they got “sent back” because we waited too long for the repair (I guess Bosch logistics are somehow the customer’s responsibility). After talking with Eddie we called Bosch support and told them what Eddie had said. They rescheduled for 10th of June. No one would be here the beginning of June so hoping to get an earlier time we contacted Eddie who said he would call us back in two days by June 2nd.
June 2, 2022. No call from Eddie and he was unable to reach. We called Bosch again and the rep confirmed they couldn’t come until June 10th because of the parts. Since no one would be here at the beginning of June we rescheduled for 6th of July when we knew for certain we would be here. July 5, 2022. No word from Bosch confirming the appointment like they said we should expect.
July 6, 2022. No word from Bosch despite it being the day of the appointment. We call Bosch to find out if they were in fact coming and the rep says the tech had to cancel. Again, they never notified us of this - we had to call to get this information. The rep goes on to say Bosch could have someone out tomorrow the 7th and confirmed tech would show up with the parts and ready to fix cooktop. July 7, 2022. No word from Bosch. We called Bosch and the rep said she had no info about an appointment today, that the only thing she saw was a reschedule from June 10th to July 8th.
July 8, 2022. Bosch tech, Chang, calls (hooray!) to give time window. When asked if he had the replacements parts he says no and states that he doesn’t have any information as to what the appointment is even for (unbelievable!). We then call Bosch to find out what is going on, ultimately we get elevated, the rep says only half the parts were delivered and that the other parts are on backorder until September 14th. So it's been nearly three quarters of a year and they are still monkeying around saying they cannot fix my cooktop. If this is the kind of service you want, go Bosch.

Grossly overstated claims. The performance was terrible. Dishes came out dirty. I had a new set of glasses. They were ruined after the first wash. A coffee mug that had been a gift from a friend cracked and the entire outside of it splintered. Other glasses were ruined.
The appliance shop sent a repairman who damaged the controls and then said there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher. He was rude and uncooperative. We were told we had to go directly to Bosch. I followed all their instructions, jumped through Bosch's ridiculous hoops for 6 months and then they said there was nothing wrong. I asked them if I was stuck with a lemon. I purchased the Bosch dishwasher appliance back in January 2022. By March, I noticed it started to malfunction. One night, I left the appliance on, went to bed and when I woke up the next morning, (about 7-8 hours later) it was still running. Another malfunction I noticed is that it would beep once (normally, when a cycle is complete it beeps 3x/3x) and the red light on the bottom would be blinking. The only way to drain the water and complete the cycle in these cases is to manually restart the device. This continues to happen repeatedly and I cannot leave it unattended and have to use my own timer.
I called Bosch for customer support. They stated they could not provide an appointment for at least one month out or longer. They shared they could provide some contact numbers for contracted technicians. The numbers I called stated that I was out of their scope in terms of geographic location and the other numbers were out of service or did not return my call.
I called back Bosch and settled for the month out appointment. I then had a scheduling conflict and had to wait yet another month. The technician came (June 3rd) with a poor attitude and disgruntled. He pressed a button and stated that no "errors" were showing up for him. He shared with me that I should have had the device running or had recorded a video because he had, "lots of customers and could not spend too much time." Overall, his work ethic was TERRIBLE and it was clear that he just didn't want to do his job.
He called his supervisor. He once again, stated there was nothing he could do and suggested that we take a video and record the cycle. I had to really press him and let him know this has been going on for months, that our one year warranty was running out and that we had waited 2 months for him to come out (not to mention cancel half my day because they provide a 4 hour window for when they 'might' come). He stated he's been working for the company for 5 years and had "never" seen this issue. In short, that insinuating it was my fault.
I suggested to him, that according to my research, this issue was probably due to a malfunction of the motherboard. He stated he would "be right back" and came back with some tools. Pulled out the dishwasher and started to unhappily work on the device. I felt I couldn't even ask him any questions because he seemed so annoyed. This process did not even take him 10 minutes to do - at which point he said, "ok, I switched out your motherboard and I am leaving." I thanked him and that was that. Hopefully what he fixed will do the trick. But overall, their customer service is AWFUL from start to finish and they do not back up their products. Will not be purchasing any products from this company again.

We had a 20 year old Kenmore 4 burner cooktop and when the igniters started failing we decided on a Bosch 30” Drop In Cooktop. As Lowe's is pretty much the only shop to purchase from in our area the Bosch 5 Burner Gas Cooktop was recommended by the store as the best! At approximately $1250 we were excited and hoped for the best and had to wait 2 months ordering time. Unfortunately when using this cooktop the metal base heats up and gets so hot you can actually burn yourself if you touch any part of the metal. Our old cooktop was a thicker heavier gage metal and never got hot.
This is a cheap, poorly designed product. The simmer burners should both be in the front and the bigger burners in the back! We may return this to Lowe's as they have been much better at consumer purchase approval than Bosch. We contacted Bosch and after much banter they had repair people come out. The Repair Service agreed 100% that there was something wrong. So far this is unresolved and there doesn’t seem to be a true fix, rather this is more a manufacturer’s design defect. If you have any little children this is especially dangerous as kids always reach up and touch things. They can get severe burns if touched when in use. Bosch’ s opinion was that the cooktop shouldn’t really be used for more than 1/2 hour of use.
When we mentioned holidays or cooking soup for 2 hours they said that was over usage. They are totally resistant and unwilling to helping us fix this or replace so far! Previous experience with Bosch appliances had been good as we own others. However this has completely changed our opinion of this company! The average 30” cooktop is $600 and this was twice the price! If all these cooktops get hot and have no insulation then it’s not necessary to spend more not to get a better device. Our opinion, This product should be recalled!

I ordered a display circuit board for my Bosch oven. The display magically fixed itself by the time the part arrived, so I called Bosch to a coordinate return. My problem is with Bosch's mandatory 25% restocking fee, and with the information I had to provide in order to secure my timely refund. The circuit board, the box in which it arrived in I never opened, cost $106. I paid $26.50 to restock a circuit board that's probably 1/8" thick, and 6" x 3" in size. There's no effort to put this unused part back on the shelf. But it is what it is, and Bosch makes that clear in their return policy. While exorbitant, it wasn't a surprise. I just thought there'd be more flexibility. After all, I'm not returning a refrigerator. So as I moved through the return process, I had to provide a model number for the oven. If I didn't, the refunds would be delayed. I asked the representative why that mattered, and that it should have no bearing on my return.
They have the part number, so that should be enough. I also commented that they're charging me 25% to restock, so maybe they should figure that out. Representative was very polite, but said several times that her hands were tied. In the end, I provided much more information than is required to return the part, especially when considering they're charging $25 to restock a circuit board whose connection to my return will be irrelevant when they sell it again. If Bosch is this complex and penalizing for their returns, I hate to think what happens when I have an actual problem with their products.

The service person came ($200) to tell us the door being crooked from when we bought it caused all these problems because the left and right side triggers were engaging out of sync when opening and closing.
The cost to repair the unit would be more than the value of the microwave at original purchase. As for a prorate on a replacement model. It's taken them 6 weeks and counting just to process that request while I continue to get voicemails that a repair person is coming back to fix it (a solution I've repeatedly rejected as paying over $1000 to repair a microwave is nonsense). Our Bosch dishwasher had a recall on the device that holds the door in place but we never received a recall notice and didn't know about it until the item broke. We are the original owner and are registered with Bosch. While we were waiting on the repair, we propped the door with a box to keep it from opening wider than it should. After a week, the dishwasher started throwing an E15 error because it was leaking water. We also noticed that water flow to the sink where it is connected was much lower. We were concerned about this so we decided the safest approach is to cut off the water and we had to cut of the electric at the breaker to get it from constantly trying to access or drain water.
The repairman finally came out and fixed the door but told us that the leaking was caused by unevenness of the dishwasher. I told him that didn't make sense since the dishwasher has been sitting in the same location at the same adjustment for the past 4-5 years. He said he didn't know about that but it was uneven. When we mentioned the sink issue he told us it was unrelated because the water to the dishwasher has a separate valve. I asked whether it could be a problem with the drain line and he said that still would not affect the faucet. He told us we need to have someone come and fix the faucet.
He then started our dishwasher and ran it for a few minutes and then stated that there was no leak but we saw drops of water on the side. He said that was just from steam condensation when he opened the door but we had never seen this before. He told us the dishwasher should work fine. That was late in the afternoon on Thursday. We ran the dishwasher for the first time today, Sunday, at noon and it is leaking all over our floor and the E15 error has been thrown again. Once this error is thrown the only way to stop the dishwasher is to throw off the breaker which also disconnects our electric motion detecting faucet and the lights.
I called service and today is 10/31 but they told me the first available appointment is on 11/20. That's the weekend before Thanksgiving and we may not have a working sink for the holiday! The service desk person told me there is nothing she can do. This is a Bosch employee that came out to service our machine and he did a very poor job as is apparent now. He was dismissive of all of our concerns which would have been okay if he were right, but he wasn't. I had told him that since we had to wait so long for him to come I wanted to make sure it didn't work okay. He told me it was fine. The noise level also increased which was the main feature that attracted us to a Bosch over the competition. He told us that it was louder only because no dishes are in there, but today when we ran it, it was loud. So disappointed in the whole experience!! I guess we need to investigate a back up plan for a new dishwasher - not a Bosch!

The repair person tried his best even calling for additional support but I guess no one knows how to to fix it. It stops working and maybe after 12 hours or so it will restart. Once it is working it is fine but that is not what you want. I have just hung up from being on hold to get another repair ticket for over 50 minutes and no one picks up at their end. I strongly would discourage anyone from getting a Bosch product.

I completed a kitchen renovation and purchased a Bosch refrigerator. When it was unwrapped, the right door was severely damaged. Bosch suggested a new door rather than a new refrigerator and I agreed. We are now 2 months later and I’m told the production of the door is not until 9/18/21 and they have no idea when they will replace the door. Lewis was very irritated when I tried to get a definitive answer as to the install date. These are not cheap appliances and I guess I expected better customer service. Doubt that I will be a future Bosch customer based in this experience.

We were having issues with our Bosch dishwasher, up to this point for fifteen years it's been great. Bosch informed us there was a recall on that model and offered us a 30% discount on a new model. That happened in mid-February and it still has not shown (it's now August 2021). We have tried to reach out and see what is going on; you're on hold for at least 30 minutes, then you speak with someone who has no idea how to track down the issue. Is this really how you want to run your company Bosch? Honestly, as pathetic a way to treat customers as one can imagine. I'd cancel the order but we've already paid.

I would give a negative start if it was possible. My Bosch microwave began turning on by itself. I purchased it with a paid warranty. I called Bosch in early February and they set up a time for someone to fix it in early March. The Bosch repairmen came and said he fixed it, however, the issue reappeared moments after he left. I called back. They set up another appointment and the repairmen did not show up when he was supposed to (of course they never gave me any notice). I called back and set up another appointment. Of course, the repairmen never showed up. I called Bosch and complained to a manager (who was the rudest manager I ever spoke with). He set up another appointment. This time the repairmen actually showed up with the parts but then informed me that the parts they ordered won't fix the issue. So they had to order different parts.
So I set up another appointment for today. Surprise surprise, the Bosch repairmen never showed up (again with no notice). In summary, during the past 5 months, I have set up 5 appointments and have had 3 no shows (without any notice). I have complained to Bosch US, Bosch UK, and Lowe's. I filed a formal written complaint to Lowe's. I have spent over 15 hours calling Bosch. I have complained to 4 managers to no avail. 2 managers were supposed to call me back but they didn't. I am at a loss for what to do. Now all I want is my warranty money back or a new microwave. Can anyone help me????

No one else is available for 2 weeks. Bosch provided the names of authorized service companies, none of whom are available for 1 or 2 months. Customer service supervisor Maria promised to call back with an update but did not; refused to return my calls. Other customer service promised to get earlier appointment but did not call back and left no notes in the system so that anyone could find her. Bottom line: no customer service and no warranty.

I had the worst experience with Bosch Appliance USA. They finally swapped out a very high end Refrigerator that they could not fix. They sent their completely incompetent installers to swap it out and ended up breaking a water line, flooding my home causing extensive damage, left it uninstalled. Water went thru my wood floors and ceiling into my basement and crawlspace. It was a nightmare. They refused to give me their insurance information to file a claim, constantly sending me from one person to another. They were even rude when I called again to ask for a higher escalation. They would not escalate it.
I will have to hire an attorney to sue them just to get them to file a claim. It's unbelievable that a company that big would treat its customers this way and even more mind boggling that they would use installers that are not experienced enough to do an install in a high end home. I would advise anyone who is thinking about buying Bosch to reconsider. I hope I can save you all my heartache. :(

Purchased a new home, wanted to replace all appliances, ordered BOSCH 800 SERIES 3 refrigerator, BOSCH 800 SERIES Dishwasher and BOSCH 800 SERIES 36IN. FLAME cooktop on 8/7/20. Regret it! Regret it totally. Waited 6 weeks for the cooktop to arrive with an impressive tagline ‘Cook with precision’, but the BRAND fails to live up to it miserably.
To begin with I was always struggling to cook simply because the lower flame (simmer) burners are in the front and bigger flames ones are at the back (who cooks that ways??); if I started cooking on front burners, it felt like ages to even stir fry and if I started cooking at the rear, I was falling way too over my food simmering on the front burners risking burning myself. It was like juggling and guessing which burner to use for what and finally after having burnt myself more than a few times, I figured I could only use the center one for day-to-day cooking else I was just wasting my time (in hopes of ‘cooking with precision’) and getting burnt.
As if this struggle wasn’t enough, in two months’ time the right front burner started shooting flames out near the sensor, which was hitting the cooktop surface and discoloring it. It wasn’t until the stainless steel surface was fairly dark that we noticed, what was actually happening and contacted the customer service (on 12/21/20) for help only to be told (on 1/10/21) that our problem was a cosmetic issue. When we refused to agree and sent more pictures, we were told, “We unfortunately would not have any sort of troubleshooting for this specific scenario and we can only recommend contacting your local authorized servicer in order to have this matter better addressed” and referred three companies.
We shared this video (**) with the customer service on 1/22/21 hoping to get a feedback from the R&D team but BOSCH’s customer service didn’t even bother to acknowledge, leave aside respond to the safety hazard this design of the cooktop poses to its users which can be serious and life threatening. Having tested Covid positive, we couldn’t call the technical support (referred to by BOSCH) until April ’21. The chap comes in looks at every nook and corner of the cooktop but could not figure out a thing in 15 mins. Then another chap comes in in a few days and tells it is the burner cap that is causing for the flames to shoot. But, he still doesn’t know why? He goes back, calls BOSCH and gets back asking if we had another burner cap? Well yes, it is just 1mm smaller in size w.r.t the one currently on the burner. Eureka! We have the wrong burner cap on and an invoice from the technician stating BOSCH will not cover this.
Now, that I know of the reason for the shooting flames, I agree that it was probably a mix-up of the burner caps while cleaning. BUT, then did BOSCH put a symbol or mechanism in place to ensure that users don’t do that mistake? BOSCH expects me to compare the sizes of the burner caps each time I put them back but would not work on designing things better. Well, why? Because BOSCH is a BRAND, a BIG BRAND, that sells stuff at HIGH PRICES, built with PRECISION to work in LABS not homes.
Just now (5/5/21) ended a call with DAVID **, a supervisor with BOSCH customer service who made me realize how empty BOSCH is as a BRAND. How it's an ALL-HAT, NO-CATTLE company. Politeness and courtesy, two of the basics of customer service, they are not even present in BOSCH's customer service supervisors leave aside representatives. He says, I should clean one burner at a time to avoid confusion or the mix-up. Wow! What an idea? And, why should I do that because my time is FREE and he wouldn’t spend discussing paying for the invoice because his time is money!
I’m surprised that BOSCH wouldn’t cover issues that its customer service or referred authorized service providers cannot figure out in just a few seconds considering it’s so trivial and BOSCH must come across such complaints on a day-to-day basis. BOSCH not only has a bad product with hazardous design in market but also has the worst customer service I have experienced till date.
BOSCH’s R&D designs cooktops to cook with precision which means "cook in hours" and its customer service supervisor asks you to clean one burner at a time which means "clean in hours too"! On top of that BOSCH’s marketing team will spam your mailboxes with appliance service plan flyers every couple of week even when BOSCH neither covers the most basic operational issues nor has an efficient team of knowledgeable customer service or technical professionals to address them timely. What a shame!

I bought this dishwasher based on customer reviews. I like the washing performance of this dishwasher, and the lighted controls…especially that it tells me how many minutes are left on the chosen cycle and when it is finished. It is also very quiet. There is one thing that frustrates me and that is the design of the lower rack. The tines are placed so that it can accommodate 12 place settings (according to the instruction manual). Few, if any, people have need for this on a daily basis. What is needed for families is capacity for place settings combined with serving bowls, mixing bowls, and cooking utensils. However, the tines are positioned so that this is very difficult and requires running the dishwasher more frequently or doing more hand washing. (My previous dishwasher was much more accommodating of a variety of dishes and pans.)
I wrote a letter to the manufacturer with my concerns and asked if there is an alternative bottom rack. I got a callback but was unavailable. The message was that they would call back. Never happened. I called the number in the instruction book twice, each time the representative said she would have another person call me back...never happened. I thought Bosch was a top of the line brand and expected better service than this. At this point I would never recommend this brand to anyone. Model SHEM63W56N/13.
