Our neighbors next to us used Anthony & Sylvan for their pool and were quite happy with it so we agreed to meet with Anthony & Sylvan's salesperson, Bob. He listened to what our desire was and was very helpful with changes that would allow us to achieve our budget goal. He gave very creative solutions to the design of the pool including the layout of the Jacuzzi as well as the layout of the pool using papers rather than a concrete board. A lot of the credit to the design of the pool goes to Bob and we couldn't be happier with his critical recommendation.
The project manager was always very positive, very friendly, very helpful, and immediately responsive to any reports of any issues or questions that we sent thru text messages, voicemails or emails. We would get a response within the same day or within the same hour. And I couldn't be happier working with them as a team. They were very fast. This is our third pool and they completed building it in about half the time of our previous pools. But the quality didn't suffer. In fact, it was very well done. Our pool looks attractive. It is rectangular and has a spa. It was also relatively low-cost and worked as we expected without any flaws or problems. It exceeded our expectations. I look forward to being able to relax at home and we can have our own pool that's clean and as we would like it, whenever we want it. And my wife uses the Jacuzzi almost daily.

I spoke to Anthony & Sylvan's salesman and I liked his ideas. He was newly hired by Anthony & Sylvan and he is the one who brought us to them. We got a free-form pool with a spa and I like the way it fits into the natural landscapes and other existing structures we have. However, the project manager is a poor communicator and never knew what was going on. I would recommend Anthony & Sylvan to a friend with the caveat of being careful with the project manager.

Anthony & Sylvan did our pool before when we lived in another location and we were happy with them. So, we called again and are happy with them this time. Our pool is kidney shaped, six-foot deep on the deep end and four and a half on the shallow end. It takes 10,500 gallons of water. I like the shape of it and the steps and approach. We had railings put in and they worked out really well. We had very good cooperation with the project manager. All the crews that worked were efficient. They didn't goof off and they ended up doing a good job.

My husband's family, when he was a kid, had Anthony & Sylvan install their pool. My neighbor and a couple had recommended them too. We had them do a free-form pool with a diving board, a sunbathing deck where it has about five to eight inches of water where I can lie down, and a few benches off the deep end. It's a very large pool with a size of 44x30. The scheduling was done very promptly by phone calls or emails. The project manager was always calling or emailing me. He was very good at responding when I had to make phone calls if I had questions or things that might need change. The process went smoothly and nice.
I like how beautiful the pool looks in the backyard and I also like the space because we have big families and lots of friends with children. I'm looking forward to cooling off in the summer, being entertained, and having friends and family over or making family memories. We recommended Anthony & Sylvan to another couple who, I believe, signed a contract with them as well.

I've wanted a pool for 3 years now. So when someone in our community who used Anthony & Sylvan highly recommended them, we had them make our new pool. Our experience with them has been so much easier than I thought. Our project manager was available throughout. He was excellent, very responsive, and always called me back quickly, and answered a lot of questions I had. He helped me through a lot of the details of the process even though they lay it out very nicely into 10-12 steps process. Mark, the design consultant was a lot more upfront and he checked in once the work and the pool had started to take shape. Both of the project manager and Mark helped ensure that I was prepared. There's a lot of reading to do and Mark had all the great pictures in his book that visually told the story as like him verbalizing it.
But I didn't read the fine print in ordering the gate in time, so they warned me that it takes 6 to 10 weeks and to not wait to get the gate because they can't do their last step in the install. They can't put the plaster in if we don't have a fence up since it's the law in our county. Now, we have a 700-square-feet freeform pool with a tanning ledge, a spa, and a waterfall. It's got room for a basketball hoop in the concrete so the kids have their fun, but away from the tanning shelf and the spa area where the adults are in so that everybody gets their fun.

When I was researching 14 years ago, Anthony & Sylvan were the best that I found on the internet so I had them build my pool and now we are renovating with them. The renovation design consultant from them came over and I showed him the stress cracks and other things that needed to be done. He told me that what I was looking at was nothing that needed to be repaired right away. Instead of just trying to upsell me, he only told me the things that I really needed to take care of at that time. So, all that they did was around the edges and coping and then resealed it so water doesn't get in between the side of the pool and the ground.
Their team called me an hour before they were supposed to get here and they showed up on time. They were friendly, did everything in a timely manner, got my work done, and made sure everything was cleaned up afterwards. Then they called me the very next day to make sure that everything was still fine from what they did. Everything is exactly as I wanted and I didn't have to pay anything more than what I needed to. I'm not dissatisfied with anything. Every experience I've ever had with them has been terrific.

I've been wanting a pool for 5 years. Anthony & Sylvan came at the right time when I was ready to move forward and they had the right options. They were more flexible on the phases of construction. I have a custom pool. It's got lots of different curves in it and it has a spa. The spa is in the pool. It was something I saw when on Choose.com and they said they never did one like that but they figured it up and they did it for me. Spending time with my family at the pool is my favorite thing, enjoying it and the relaxation.

My kids and I are swimmers, and ever since we moved into our brand new house we wanted to build a pool. We chose Anthony & Sylvan Pools based on their reputation and good reviews from the website and hearsay from other customers and friends that actually went with them. My pool is chlorinated, it's a geometric rectangular pool for lap purposes only. It has a variable-speed drive option. Everything went well and done on time. Now I'm able to swim whenever I please and do my exercises.

Anthony & Sylvan had a sign up in our neighborhood because they were putting in another pool. I did a little research online just to read other reviews about the company then talked to some other people I know who have pools. Anthony & Sylvan was highly recommended and had good reviews. And since I've wanted a pool for years, we finally made the decision to pull the trigger at the beating of this summer and we asked them to come out and give us an estimate.
Our project manager, Frank, was wonderful and it was great that we saw him very regularly over the course of the project. He was very responsive to calls or emails with any questions. The scheduling team was also great. They were right on top of each step as the project progressed and kept me informed about what would be happening when and when I needed to be here. Everything moved along on the six-week schedule as promised. The design consultant was really helpful in helping us pick something that worked really well in our yard in terms of the size and the shape. And we love the shape of our new concrete, freeform pool. It is a great place for us to relax and have friends and family over and just enjoy just staying at home in the summer.

Anthony & Sylvan renovated our 14-year old pool which they also built. They did the tile and coping. They were great and interacting with them was easy. The renovation design consultant explained himself well and was able to lay out the different options that we had so that I could understand. The pool now looks great and I don't have to worry about it for another 14 years.

I initially read about Anthony & Sylvan on Angie's List then went to their website. After a couple of business from other companies, I decided to go with Anthony. They represented a good product and a big company name that guarantees the pool after the installation. I feel comfortable with their overall presentation. I communicated with the project manager and he responded within the day and took care of any of my concerns. He's very punctual and professional in his dealings with me.
Our pool was installed and finished around the 1st of July. It's rectangular, about 19 by 39, and with depths going from about three and a half to six and a half. But it's still deeper since it's over seven feet. There's no spa but the pool looks very aesthetic. It confines in the yard well, integrated well with the backyard, and the quality is top-notched. I feel that it represents a well-made pool when I use it. I look forward to using the pool for the spring and summer months and entertaining friends and family. For whatever reason, the water is very cold even during the height of 115-degree temperature so we're going to install a solar heating for the pool in February which should take care of that problem.

We had a pool in our old house. We just moved in and wanted a pool in this property as well. We had Anthony & Sylvan build a pool at our old house, and we were satisfied with that, so when we wanted a pool here, we called them. We got a mountain lake pool. There were times during the scheduling period when things got a little bit backed up, but we worked it out. We have recommended Anthony & Sylvan.

Ever since we moved to our house ten years ago, we have wanted to have a pool. We have woods along three sides of our property and Anthony & Sylvan was able to design it in such a way that it contoured to the land directly behind the house which looks very natural. It's a 40 x 20 free-form salt-water pool and has a heater. It also has waterfalls that have separate elevations that also conforms to the elevation of our property. The team went over the schedule when we bought the pool and we didn't have any weather delays. Dealing with the project manager has been straightforward. There were a lot of times where we wanted what they had to offer but needed to modify or add something like the stamped concrete with a certain color pattern. We had several estimates done and they made that easy for us to get done. So, that was a big win. We're looking forward to enjoying the pool in the spring and in summer. We have recommended them to a friend and they already built them the pool.

We just built the house about a year and a half ago and we waited for it to finish to get the pool. We had seen stuff online when we were searching on the internet for them. Then we had a couple of friends also that had done quotes and stuff before with Anthony & Sylvan. We liked the people we talked to at Anthony & Sylvan, and so we chose them.
The scheduler was the best person. She was the one that made sure all the contracts were there with any issues that we had. I wanted to be outside for pretty much all of the stuff that was happening and she was really good about letting me know when they're gonna be there and what time, and when things were gonna happen. She was really good at keeping track of all the things that were being done. We had a lot of special requests and custom stuff done in the pool and she made sure that all of those things that we had that were not standard were all being taken care of and they were understood before the work got done.
The pool is big and rectangular. I like that it's big enough for our families to get in, everybody's being able to fit in there all at the same time. My wife and I both have big families, so we built it for all of our family. All of the kids and cousins play in there. I'd definitely recommend Anthony & Sylvan to a friend.

Our pool from Anthony & Sylvan is a free-form without a spa, and has a small stair waterfall. I like being in it to keep cool in the summer. The salesman was very personable. My project manager and I interacted regularly. He was very involved and helpful. Also, the rep in charge of scheduling was very good. Early on in the process, it definitely seemed like they were overwhelmed due to a shortage of people, but they recovered nicely, which is why I gave them high marks. They solved the challenges they had in front of them and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

After seing Anthony & Sylvan's billboard on the freeway, I Googled it and looked at their ratings and reviews and everything seemed like they were capable. At first I wanted something to have done, then once we went into the design, the rep came up with an alternative option which we went with because it ended up way better than what I brought up. He was very informative and he let us know every status, what was going on, all the process throughout the whole construction phase leading into where we’re at now. When I needed something or I had some questions about a couple of things, he was able to answer them and made sure I was happy. Now the finished pool looks beautiful. It's refreshing and it looks nice out in the back.

I've been wanting a pool for a number of years. We had Anthony & Sylvan out a couple of years prior to giving us a price, and we couldn’t decide. Our five grandkids who live close by are the main reason we picked the pool. I asked some people who put pools in and I was getting all mixed feedback, and Anthony & Sylvan seemed to be the biggest. Also, I figured if I had any problems, they would turn around and be the easiest ones to correct any issues if there was any. Additionally, somebody else somewhere told me that they were one of the better builders of pools in the area.
We had them build a free-form pool. If I turn around, it has a raised spa with the waterfalls. I started its depth at four feet, which they said was not normal, and I went from four to seven. We're a very tall family and it is perfect for the depth. It’s a good pool. I like that everybody is enjoying it. Watching the grandkids in there having fun looks nice. The waterfall is a nice view to look at also.
The project manager was great. He always called back. He helped out anytime there’s a question. If for some reason, I cannot reach him, the sales manager was right there. One of them was always right there to answer any questions. Even after the pool was done, I had questions and they called me right back and answered the questions. They always got me the answers I want.

I shopped around and got about five estimates from different pool people and representatives come out to my house. But I was most pleased with the guy from Anthony & Sylvan. Everybody was great, from the project manager to the scheduling team. I had a 900 square foot pool and it has a lot of decking going around it. It starts at 3 feet and goes to six feet. However, I had a little decking issue, but they sent the guys right back out to fix what needed to be fixed right away. It’s a nice pool and I’m very happy with it. I like having access to get out my backdoor, get into the pool and just be able to swim outdoors in late spring, sometimes early fall since it has a nice heater on it. I have pool parties and my grandkids come over and play in the pool as well.

We've planned on getting a pool for the last five years. We’re from New York and there was no room to have a pool there, so coming down to North Carolina with a nice piece of property, we thought a pool was a must-have. And I got some good feedback from my aunt who had an Anthony & Sylvan pool built seven years ago. I had done a lot of research on pools and pools company too, but I didn’t know little things like where would you like the sun to hit you when your pool is built. So, I loved that the pool we got from Anthony and Sylvan answered questions that I didn’t even know we had. Our pool's beautifully constructed and it's pretty much everything that was designed in the consultant portion of the process. It’s also easy to maintain and that’s the best part which my husband loves.
My project manager was also amazing. He visited the site every time we had a major phase go by, even with the depth building and the coping, he was always accessible. He was laid back, but whenever we did have a question, the response time was amazing. And the scheduler was also outstanding. We couldn’t be happier.

Anthony & Sylvan has been around for a long time so I already knew their name beforehand. We chose them because there weren't a lot of pool builders in Maryland that were able to do the entire package. My pool is a basic, free-form custom pool. It is black granite with slate coping. My favorite about it is its ability for the kids to enjoy their summer days, for them to be able to go swimming when they want to, have their friends over and not really asking me what we're gonna do on a particular day because it's so hot. Their reps were very consistent with speaking to us on a weekly basis to let us know what was gonna happen and if there was gonna be any delays. It also serves the dual purpose of getting more exercise and having the opportunity to be out there and enjoy it.
The company is easy to work with. Having the communication line open was the most important thing. If there was an issue, it was taken care of in a timely manner. During the summer when they built the pool, I was able to contact them and usually at the same day they would call me back. We can then go through any kind of situations, changes or additions that had to be taken care of at that time. And I communicated with the project manager once a week. They gave me lots of different choices and cost rates based on my and my family's lifestyle, then they gave us an opportunity to make our own choices. A woman called me on the day they were coming to let me know exactly what they do there. They arrived on time and did their renovation work exactly as I was told and they departed it exactly as I was told. Everything was perfectly on schedule and my granite pool this past summer was like it was brand new.

I've been wanting to have a pool for three months now. So when a friend of mine gave me Anthony & Sylvan's number, I had them work on my geometric pool. Its quality and workmanship are good. There was one time wherein we had a few days delay because of the weather. But other than that, everything was on time.

When we first met our project manager from Anthony & Sylvan, he was very friendly, informative, personable and told us a lot about the pool. We have a kidney-shaped pool. It is 350 square feet with a large patio around and a waterfall. We also have the propane to heat it in the summertime to even warmer, so I love it. We had a deck built, too. With all the work, it was a really good workmanship. I'm looking forward to having parties, entertain outdoors, and the daily use of my new pool.

We heard about Anthony & Sylvan when we actually started looking into purchasing a pool for our home. We went through a period of time where we thought, we'll put in a pool when we move. But when we decided to stay, Anthony & Sylvan was very quick to come and meet us on both times I called them. The salespeople were very professional and answered all of our questions promptly, which was a big deal for us. I also didn't feel like there was any lingo that was a gray area.
It was our first pool and we've been looking forward to doing it for 10 years. We got a free-form pool with a bar stool inside and a bar area on the outside of the pool, exactly where we wanted it for entertaining. We also have a sunning deck and a couple of bubblers that come up out of that shallow area where the kids enjoy playing. During the warmer months, my kids are gonna have their friends over and we're gonna get to enjoy watching them play. We'll also know where they are and who they're with. We're also looking forward to being able to enjoy our pool as a family. I also like knowing that at the end of the day, especially on a hot or busy day, I just have to go out the back door if I wanted to relax in the pool.
Anthony & Sylvan was able to incorporate the pool into the landscape since we had a bit of hardscape already in the back patio. The pool looks great with our existing patio, which has lower and upper areas. They were able to put the pool right where we wanted it, something that other pool companies were unwilling to do. The others wanted to push the pool back and add a lot more decking. However, we wanted to have as much of our yard with grass as we could.
We had crazy rain during the process of the project so the work had some delay. At the same time, Dan the project manager was also getting married and needed to go on a honeymoon. But he managed to pull off the job well. He was very honest with us about time frames. He never made a promise that he wasn't gonna be able to fulfill or legitimately try. We really appreciated that. He also always got back to us if we had questions, whether it was a text, email or phone call. When he said he was coming, he was there. Furthermore, he saw things that we didn't, like a slope that he didn't like. It delayed the process a little bit but I felt like it was important to Anthony & Sylvan and to him to make sure that they got it right, rather than getting it done. We liked that as well.
The scheduler also did a pretty good job. However there were a couple of times that we got the emails that were sent out two days after Dan already returned from his vacation. I don't know if that was a computer error since it seems like an automated message. But usually if we called for our questions, they're really good about answering and letting us know a time when we could expect the workers since sometimes we needed to be at the house to let the workers in and put the dogs away.

We just moved into the house and got a pool as soon as we moved in. We shopped around on the internet, read customer reviews, and looked at people’s pictures that they posted on the website. We got a couple of estimates and design ideas from different companies and Anthony & Sylvan seems to be the best one for us. Our project manager was Skye and he was super informative and was always there checking on the project. He kept us informed every step of the way of what was next, what had to be done, and whatnot. Pretty much everything was on schedule as he said. It was convenient. We got a geometric pool with a spa and our favorite features are the lighting, the decking, the tile, and pretty much all of it.

We have wanted a new pool for seven years and I had chosen five manufacturers or installers and narrowed it down to two. Anthony & Sylvan was the top two and I decided to go with them because of their years in business. This is the first time I’ve ever had a pool built and it was a big task. Even so, they addressed any issues that I had right away. I’d send a picture or an email when I had an issue and I would get a response and we would talk it through and get it resolved. We have a free-form custom pool that we’re enjoying. I had the plan and I had the idea in my mind for the last three years. Although it doesn’t have a spa, our favorite thing about it is the fact that we're able to get in and swim in it. We’ve been having friends and family over. I've even put in a solar heater system that’s allowed us to extend our swim period. It’s the fun family social value that we get out of having a pool.

However, the scheduling team didn’t meet the initial date that they estimated but they were very friendly in coordinating a revised date and eventually showing up because there was a weather problem this spring.

My husband and I have been waiting to get a pool for 37 years and now that we moved to Delaware, we can have one. So I went to a local company and made an appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate, but he stood us up. When he called to tell me that he was in a meeting and he was delayed, I told him not to bother. Then I went back online and found Anthony & Sylvan. But it was my realtor who recommended them because she had a pool done by them.
Everything went pretty smooth with the project manager and scheduling team. There were a couple of glitches but my project manager, Frank, was fantastic. He pulled everything together and made sure that I could email him if I had a problem. He lives in town and he would come or stop over and make sure everything was okay. He checked on every phase. When there was a hold up on the fencing, he took care of that so it was really good. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful. We had a lot of rain and even though mine was one of the earliest pools, it took longer because of the rain and it put off everything. Like everything else, we have to wait for the weather.
Ours is a 14 by 30 foot rectangular pool with stairs at one end, a railing, and a ladder at the other end. It’s seven feet deep and the shallow end is four feet. It has a cobalt blue tile on the edging. We have a patio and a fenced-in area around it. There's also a deck in the fenced-in area. It’s beautiful and I’ve had a lot of compliments. Everybody loves this pool. It’s in my backyard and I can go in any time I like. I have a long season in Delaware and I can use my pool from the end of April to October. It’s also bringing my family in as they’ve come to visit almost every weekend. The pool's wonderful to have as a social gathering place. I like having the family down and enjoying being able to grill on the patio where I have a nice swing and lots of chairs. In fact, even when the pool was too cold to swim, we sat around it and had a glass of wine. It was lovely and really beautiful.

I heard about Anthony & Sylvan through some friends and chose them for our pool because of their warranty. Our pool is free-form with a waterfall and a hot tub for 12. That's really cool because it's set up on a hill overlooking our ranch and the hot tub is overlooking the farm. The waterfall is my favorite thing. We’re out here in the country so it’s got all the big rocks and boulders, and they used the flagstone a lot. We built a home that looks like a mountain lodge, so the waterfall goes right with our home. Everybody that came to see the waterfall loves it. However, I had a hard time getting a hold of my project manager for the most part, so I wasn’t pleased with all that. I had to ride him pretty hard to get something done. But generally, the scheduling lady got everything on time.

Anthony & Sylvan had better reviews than local pool contractors in the area and they are a nationally-known name so we got them to build us a free-form pool with a spa. We like the spa feature as well as the wading rocks. Their people were very good in the beginning, but once we had made all of our payments and the contractors were paid in full, although the pool wasn't complete at that point, we began to have difficulty with the scheduler. It also became extremely difficult to get the remaining issues resolved. We had to bring the salesman back in to work on our behalf to get the last remaining things completed.

Anthony & Sylvan originally built our swimming pool in 1997. We recently had them renovate our pool for the coping and the tiles. I got four bids for the pool renovation and there were a lot of private companies who wanted our business, but Anthony & Sylvan worked with me and they even matched the competitor's price. Working with a big company, I knew we had to go back to Anthony & Sylvan. We liked the design consultant who worked for them. He's very knowledgeable and he has been in the pool business for 40 years. He used to build pools, so he knows what he's talking about. It was good working with him. He returned every phone call I made to him and explained everything to us.
Anthony & Sylvan did a full renovation of our pool. All the tiles have been replaced. They tore off the coping and rebuilt the wall where the coping is on, and they also did the piece of caulking behind the coping. We have a raised spa that the waterfall goes into, and they rebuilt all that. The construction guys from the company that Anthony & Sylvan subcontracted to were great and did an awesome job. I only have a lot of good things to say about them. They were quick, in-and-out, and clean. Everything worked out excellent and I'd use them again.
We did a special order tile because we didn't like anything in the book. Even when we built our pool originally, we used a special order tile. We finally realized that the special order tile that we ordered was not what we were getting. Compared to what we had picked, the tile that we received was terribly off. I get that the tile we picked was a discontinued tile but the tile company didn’t tell Anthony & Sylvan. Tiles had to be obtained from four or five other locations that had samples, and 29 pieces were needed to get the job done.
It took four shipments to get the tiles correct. When the construction guys came to do the work, they had to come back four times because every time they came out, it was the incorrect tile. It was very frustrating dealing with the manager in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The correct tile finally came out of California with the fourth shipment. A lot of phone calls had to be made and a job that should have taken just a week took almost five weeks until the correct special order tile was delivered, but we finally got this issue worked out and our renovated pool turned out great.
It's a beautiful pool, a free-form with 300 sq. ft. If you're in the pool, it looks fine. You can put a generic tile on the pool and it doesn't look nice. We have something different right at the area of the pool out there -- retaining walls made out of stone, and the colors of the tile are a burgundy and a brown. The pool pulls up all the colors on the retaining walls. So, the tiles make the pool.
I'd recommend Anthony & Sylvan to a friend. They're very good, with a gentle eye. But when I leave a message for someone, and they don't get back to me or return my calls, it gets me upset. Towards the end of the project, when I needed some answers, I called the design consultant, but he never returned my call. This was frustrating for me because that was when we had an issue with the special order tile coming in correct. After calling Anthony & Sylvan seven or eight times, they did pick up and gave excuses why they didn't return my phone calls. They finally got electrified after dealing with quite a few people. Nevertheless, Anthony & Sylvan took care of me. They gave me a gift card for $600 to the store. Then they gave me $500 off from my bill on the special order tile. They're a great company.

We were considering moving and buying a house with a pool over the last few years and we finally decided to move last year. We were not able to find a house with a pool that we like so we bought a house and we decided to build a pool ourselves. We did an internet search for reputable pool companies and Anthony & Sylvan came up as a nationwide company that had relatively close local branches.
I like the overall look of the pool. When the sun hits the coping, tile-work, and the court finish inside, the pool gives a really beautiful blue color that is exactly what we were looking for. It is a free-form pool that’s about 21,000 gallons. It was the design of Anthony & Sylvan and we were able to choose the depth and the length and scale it up to the size that we wanted. It’s a standard shallow-end and not-quite-deep-end. It’s 6.5 ft. so not dive-legal but deep enough to dive if one really so chose to.
The interactions we had with our project manager, Jomar, were on a regular basis via phone and in-person. He was very hands-on and easy enough to get a hold of. Any concerns are usually addressed within the day, sometimes immediately. I would definitely recommend working with a project manager like him versus someone who just answers the phone and that’s it. We had a couple of hiccups because I have had a little bit of problems with some of the sub-contractors, but they’re clearly resolved without issues. I would definitely work with Anthony & Sylvan again.

So we got them to install our pool, which is a 16x32 concrete rectangular pool with heater. Anthony & Sylvan finished it in July and they did a really nice job. The project manager is a guy in Jessup and he was outstanding and always kept in touch. So I just went online, started looking around with the comments and Anthony & Sylvan had some good feedback, so I reached out to them.
The renovation design consultant was upfront. This was more of a how to do it, not a nice to do it situation and he was realistic as far as the placing, what we could do now and maybe wait for another time financially to reconstruct but it all turned out very, very nicely. They plastered the pool and they fixed the portion of the concrete deck. There weren't very complicated interactions, they were very friendly, efficient, communicated well with us as far as timing. Follow-up was good as far as coming out and make sure things were progressing as they should be. The workers that worked here were all very polite and knowledgeable.
The pool was repaired and brought back to what it should be. So I'm just very glad that it's running smoothly now. It looks like it should. They did put a new pump system in, which certainly has made it a lot quieter for my neighbors because the bearings were going on my old pump. So it's just a much more pleasant experience. I've wanted a pool for years. I posted on a Facebook page for our city and said, "Hey, everybody. I want to get a pool. Are there any recommendations?" A woman on there said that she got her pool from Anthony & Sylvan and she was extremely happy with how it went. So, I gave Anthony & Sylvan and another pool company a call to come out and have a consultation with me.
When the rep from the other pool company came out, he was great, knew what he was talking about, and had a lot of options, so I got a bid from him. Then the Anthony & Sylvan rep also came out and he was really helpful and knowledgeable. I got a bid from him as well and their price was so much more affordable and their pool had more features than the other company's.
So, we got a free-form pool from Anthony & Sylvan. It has a spa, a waterfall, and a bubbler on the sun deck. I like its overall look and that it came out looking very relaxing. Then we also had what they called a sports pool, so the deepest part is in the middle, and so we can play volleyball and have a lot of fun that way in the pool. I love the waterfall. It came out really beautiful and the sound when it's on is extremely relaxing.
The project manager was fabulous and amazing. I couldn't even say enough about him to give him enough credit. I've asked around and talked to a ton of people who have pools or are currently having pools put in, and there's hardly any who have talked about it being a positive experience, and there are many who are even ready to sue the company that's putting in their pool. I can see how that happens because when the companies are putting in these pools, they're dealing with contractors, plumbers, steel guys, and gunite guys, so they're at the mercy of those people showing up.
We had some things that didn't go as planned or were an issue. But my project manager was so responsive and on the ball, and fixed anything that popped up, and addressed every single concern I had in an extremely timely manner, including a couple of issues that really upset me. I would text him a question and he would respond almost immediately. I told him that the deck guys are here and they're not putting in the holes for the volleyball net, and he immediately called the guy and said, "Hey, have her put these in wherever she wants them." They were just pouring the concrete and they put these grommet holes in the ground. The project manager was at my house yesterday. It took a long time for the gas company to come out and upgrade my meter, and they finally did it. I texted him and asked who do I get a hold of to turn my heating unit on so I can heat my spa. He's like, "Oh, no problem. I'll come out there and turn it on," and he did so.
I look forward to being able to have get-togethers and share our pool with everybody. I have two kids and they just love the pool to pieces. It's nice to have it because, after school, it can be a reward for them getting their homework done. It's a great relaxation piece for the weekend, instead of going out and doing an activity, and spending hundreds of dollars, like going to the movies is almost $100 for a family of four. So, it's great to have this in-home entertainment.

I have various houses, and we've had a pool for over 20 years. This is our third pool. It's a concrete and plaster pool. It's not large because we didn't have a whole lot of room on our lot that we're on. I put this pool in for my granddaughter. She loves to swim. So I said, "If I want her here and we babysit her all summer long, then let's put a pool in here for her." We'd spend six to seven hours a day in it with her. It was tiring, but it was fun.
The project manager and the scheduling team did a terrific job. There were times when I called the project manager more than I should because I had his number available and I wasn't exactly sure who was handling what, and he'd always take care of all our concerns. They were all very professional and friendly and showed up when they said they were going to.

Anthony & Sylvan is a well-known name and my friends recommended them. I got a free-form pool with no spa from them. I like having my family enjoy it in the backyard. The project manager, Dennis, was very prompt. He's always very responsive whenever I needed questions answered. I'd give him a call, and he usually gets back to me very quickly. The scheduling team, overall, were good except for the plaster scheduling wherein there was a little misunderstanding. It was a scheduling conflict that delayed my project for a couple of days.

Anthony & Sylvan's reputation is very good. Their price was right around where I wanted to spend. I got a geometric pool installed and I like the way it looks. It is all concrete, the coping was really nice. I also like where the steps are because I'm not a swimmer, so I just like to sit on there. They send somebody at my house to keep the chemical levels off they are supposed to be. They're very good with that and it's really not that difficult to do. I couldn't ask for a better project manager. He's inspected every aspect of the instructions. If I ever had a question about anything, sometimes I don't get them right away. But he returns my calls in a timely fashion, even after the pool was installed. I've had one problem with the scheduling guys. When the last thing was finished, they wouldn't accept my check. It's a pain in the ass but it was okay. A few of my friends came over to look at the pool and they were very impressed.

We've heard of Anthony & Sylvan pools so we figured they were a good one and might as well go with them. We had a little rough go at it at the beginning with the project manager, but definitely got on the same page and the same book. We started seeing eye-to-eye and everything went smooth scheduling-wise. The only thing that is not good as far as scheduling was the closing of the pool. I had some problems with the pump and I wanted them to come out and fix it. They took about a month a half and came through the day that the pool was closing. I was pretty mad about the fact that their service department is not good.

They preserved the mermaid on the bottom of the pool. I told them it had to be saved and the plaster guys who were really nice took some time, which was generous, and saved it.

We used to have a pool years ago when we lived in Florida, and we missed it and wanted another one again. We then interviewed seven pool companies and decided to go with Anthony & Sylvan. We have a free-form pool and it has a small water feature. My husband and I designed it along with the gentleman that came out. We told him what we wanted and he drew it on his laptop, which was wonderful because we got to see the picture that we had in our mind. It turned out perfect.
We love the waterfall. We put an additional waterfall in, purchased a concrete dolphin, and did a really pretty landscaping behind it. So, we have a dolphin waterfall over the top of the one that we had Anthony & Sylvan put in. The pool is beautiful. Moreover, we love the light features. The LED lights at night are absolutely gorgeous. We also love the sun shelf, and our grandchildren love the bubblers. We are completely satisfied with the whole pool.
The timing of everything was on track. There was one delay because one of their subcontractors couldn't make it out on the day that was scheduled, but the next available day, which was three days later, they came out. We were filling our pool within 21 days after they started the layout and digging and we're very happy with that. I would definitely recommend them.

The designer did an awesome job. Our pool has a spa and it fits the yard perfectly. We're very happy with the final result. It's easy to maintain and I have the app from my iPhone where I can control the heater and the spa. We enjoy being here now and the summer heat doesn't seem like the killer it was before.

We had a rainy spring and everything went pretty good as far as all the work that was done. They put up a nice concrete retaining wall behind the pool, which adds to the beauty. Anthony & Sylvan was recommended by one of the contractors who was working on our home. I called various other pool installers but most didn't show up, and if they did, there was really no follow-through. The pool has a spa and is more geometric than free form. But it does have a few jutted out places. We like that it has the sundeck. It has chairs on it, which we like for the visual effect. It heats up very nicely in a very short amount of time, and easy to clean. It's a very eye-appealing design. Everybody comments on how much they like it when they come over. It's easy to get in and out of. We got the pool for exercise. My husband is disabled and it's really helped him with his range of motion. So, it's something that we're hoping that we can use a lot. And because it is heated, we can use it more than just a few months out of the year.
The project manager was fantastic. He let us know every step of the way what we can expect as far as the workers that were there. He inspected after every step of the project. He was here almost every day taking the picture and would send us the picture and the report of actually what went on during the construction. He was very good at identifying if there was any type of little problem so that it was fixed right away. And he kept us in constant contact.
He would let us know exactly if something was going to be fixed and how long it would take, who was going to fix it and how long we could expect them to be there, how long the project was gonna take, and who was next in line for the next step of the pool construction. If there's anything that we needed to do, he made sure that we understood our parts such as watering down the concrete or brushing down the plaster. We were impressed that he just didn't leave us to hang and dry when we were done. He followed through and made sure that we were satisfied. He called one, two and three weeks later just to make sure that everything was going okay. After contacting friends and people I knew that had build pools, I decided to go with Anthony & Sylvan. Everybody there was very helpful. They always emailed or called me whenever we had to do the scheduling. Also, my project manager was super helpful in every step of the process. He always did whatever I requested, so I was extremely satisfied with the final result. I just had a baby and my husband was working long hours, and the plaster needed everyday brushing for two weeks. He helped a lot with the brushing and we very much appreciated it.
We started the excavation of the pool last year in October, and had the pool started in March this year. We don’t have a lot of space, but the way our Anthony & Sylvan pool was designed, it was a really great way to use the space. I also like that it has the raised beam because we have some elevations. We used the elevation of my lot to build this special high raised beam on one of the sides on the deepest part of the pool. And we put two sheer descents there. The cascades are beautiful and I like the tile work that was done.
It's a beautiful pool. It's the best investment so far and it has made our lives better. Before, we were inside a lot because of the heat. Now we spend every afternoon in it the whole summer. We've only been gone for two weeks the whole summer, and it's been great for the kids. They're learning to swim by themselves by being in the pool. We can forget about having to make plans and enjoying our Anthony & Sylvan pool every day.

At first, we got June and it ended up not getting done until July 4th, weekend. I did not get the spa but it's an inground gunite swimming pool. We also have a waterfall on it with a raised platform, so we can jump off of it like a diving board. It has an eight foot deep end and then a three and half foot shallow end. We also like the earthy feel of it with the stone and the waterfall. Their rep would call before they come out to do work. They would say that today or tomorrow the granite team would come out. And they would schedule everything ahead of time, so we knew exactly what was happening and when people were coming. Also, there was a different crew for different things. I kept on contacting him and I got very few emails from him. I was getting desperate. When I found out that he had not requested the permits, I contacted Anthony & Sylvan and they fixed that immediately. Anthony & Sylvan knows exactly that the first contact was not good. They need to do something about communication because families have all their hopes and dreams and when there's no communication and people find out that things aren't happening, it really hurts.
They gave me a project manager who was amazing. From there on, everything went absolutely smoothly and all my dreams came true. We are a very happy family and all our neighbors are very happy too because they come and use the pool as well. We enjoy it with the family and it reminds me of my mother. The job was done fantastically, but it all started when Anthony & Sylvan assigned the right project manager.

Original Review: Sept. 6, 2016
I am writing this review because quite frankly I have been left no choice after several months of broken promises. We signed our contract with Anthony and Sylvan in April 2016. Our pool is still not 100% complete. Swimmable Yes. We were able to swim August 17, 2016. I'll remind you again, we signed in April! So after months of construction (which is about how long it takes to build a new construction home) we are still struggling with Anthony and Sylvan. We reached out to corporate office with the hopes of things getting repaired and smoothed out. Unfortunately, the last straw was when the corporate customer relations manager threatened my husband with the warranty taking effect. We have asked for the information of the higher authority and he refuses to give it to us.
Our pool seems to have a slow leak, the spa water drains completely out. We have yet to receive our fire bowls, fire pit and the app that we paid extra for. Our remote does not work properly. So each time we need a feature on we have to walk over to our equipment. So we basically paid for a remote and app we are unable to use. I am so disappointed and have had more stress dealing with this company than I have ever had in my entire life. Did I mention I sent not one, but two customers their way, before all the disappointments? There will definitely not be a next time! I urge you to do your research before planning to build a pool with this company! We made a huge mistake that we will most likely have to deal with for years to come.
Thank you very much for bringing these concerns to our attention, Nicole. We have located your account and will be contacting you shortly to better understand your concerns and to try to find a positive resolution.

We went online and looked at all the local pool companies and interviewed about five different ones. As I researched more and looked at Better Business Bureau and anywhere I could find information online, everything pointed to Anthony & Sylvan as a reputable company. Their salesperson was very helpful and we chose them. We were having a lot of rain. But when the process started and the first crew came in and dug up the hole, everything went really fast. Every week, I had somebody there doing a major portion of it. It didn’t take long at all. There was some hiccup initially because we kept changing our minds with the size and shape, and they were very receptive. The gentleman kept coming back and we were doing it in the yard with the flag, so that was very helpful as well.
We have a granite free-form pool. We wanted something that would enhance our home and was nice to look at, not just something that the kids would get wet in and use during summer. It was supposed to be aesthetically pleasing and functional, and truly Anthony & Sylvan has delivered. Every single person that has been to my house is astonished by how nice it looks. My favorite thing is that it is a saltwater pool and low maintenance. I am grateful for where the location of it is within the backyard and the color we chose for the white stuff at the bottom of it. We chose a color that truly gives that aqua blue color.
Our kids are exactly at the right age, and we wanted them to have a pool as they were growing up. I grew up with a pool and have very fond memories of growing up with one, so I wanted to make sure my kids had the same opportunity as they grew up. I've told Anthony & Sylvan that If anybody in the local vicinity wants to see what their final product looks like, they’re welcome to bring them over and show them the pool. The experience can be really daunting to figure out who they really want to go with and what size, gaps and color. It’s hard to put it together and my pool may assist them.

Their presentation was put together, very professional and we felt confident in what we were presented with.
The scheduling team was awesome. They let us know a day or two in advance that the pool is coming out. Everybody always came out at the time they said they were going to. Our project manager was really easy to get a hold of. He followed through with all of our phone calls, always calling back and making sure that he addressed any questions that we had. He made sure that we were satisfied.
One of the things that they did that really stood out is, we had a really long stretch of rain and our pool cover had to be folded up when it was wet and rainy. We were a little concerned about leaving it out so much but the project manager said, “Don’t worry about it. I’ll come up at night and we can open and dry it up, and fold it.” My husband said, “Oh, that’d be great.” So he came one night when my husband got home from work and did that with him. He went above and beyond, and that mattered to make sure that we were comfortable with the way our pool cover was put away.
The pool has a tanning ledge with bubbles on it, a hidden shelf and two cascades. I like its perfect size. It was suggested by the salesperson that people generally don’t ever want a bigger pool, but they wish they had a bigger deck. So we put a little more area into our deck and it’s comfortable to walk around and lots of people can sit around it and enjoy. My husband enjoys some relief from the hot summers and having a place to relax.

Sylvan built my pool sometime around 1980 before they merged with Anthony. The plaster was flaking off into the pool, so I had to get it done. I called Anthony & Sylvan in fall and someone came right over to give me an estimate. The estimate was substantially cheaper than anything I had gotten or would have gotten from a local pool company, and I confirmed that after it was all done. The other companies said it was a terrific deal. We set everything up for this spring and Anthony & Sylvan showed up on the day they were supposed to show up and were finished in a remarkable time. They started re-plastering the pool at 6:45 AM and they finished by 11:30 AM. I thought it would take two days but it took only about five hours. It was a terrific job.
When my pool company came to open the pool and set it up, I talked to them about it. They said whoever I had do the pool did an excellent job. The pool had never been re-plastered before and it lasted for probably 35 years. It is remarkable according to the people I spoke to that it lasted that long. So Sylvan did a terrific job in putting the pool in and Anthony & Sylvan did an equally terrific job when they re-plastered it.

Geological conditions are always important when building a structure like that, and we found out that Anthony & Sylvan Pools had built about seven or eight pools in this community in the past. That went a long way with us knowing that they're very familiar with the soil because we have a ton of clay and all kinds of things that make the ground move that homes have had issues with. There are many people that build the pool, many steps and many stages. It is not necessarily the same crews. That organization of all those crews required Anthony & Sylvan Pools to be very adamant about detail and how all those things were worked out between those different companies or vendors. Things occurred in steps and we were happy with the result. Any issues that might have come up during the construction, they were on it to resolve and get appropriate people out here.
I loved the overall process from design to completion even with the weather that we had earlier this year and the rain delays. The pool finished in plenty of time for us to enjoy it coming up to the summer months. All that worked out well and Anthony & Sylvan stayed on schedule as best they could weather permitting and got the pool done especially one this size and in a short period of time. Our pool is a salt pool, but it's 39 feet in length and 22 feet in width. We've had pools in the past and because it gets as hot as it does in Austin it certainly is a great thing to have. We live in a community that has three community pools, but there's nothing like having your own and luckily we have the backyard and the size to do that. Also, from the longevity standpoint it can also be a very good selling point if we ever decide to sell the house.

We had an above ground pool for years and we shut it down. My wife joined a private swim club, but it was just too crowded at times, so she wanted her own pool. So we looked into a fiberglass pool first and decided to go with granite pool. Anthony & Sylvan is a well-known name in pools. It's old, but it's a reliable name in pool installation. My wife did a lot of research and we decided to go with them. We have the 40 x 20 pool and it's 3 feet on the shallow end and 6 feet on the deep end.
We received excellent service from the project manager, Trevor and everybody who I dealt with. They called to let me know what time contractors were coming and what to expect. Everything flowed very smoothly and I'm very pleased. My wife and I are very happy with our pool. On days when it's close to 90 degrees, the pool is in the backyard and it's very convenient. Also, I don’t have to worry about commuting to the store or traffic. Work at the back door and jump in the pool. We enjoy the relaxation we get from having the pool.

We have a couple of friends who had used Anthony & Sylvan before. We've looked at various pool companies and decided to go with them because of the quality of pool they built for our friends. We have a large wooded lot so we also looked into the shape constraints we had and they were able to come to a design with nature look than a standard pool. It's free-form pool without a spa and it fits into the limits of our backyard and we can use it whenever we want.

I'm retired but I've always wanted a pool. About three years ago, I bought this present property I live in because of the ground to put a pool with. I went with Anthony & Sylvan based on their reputation in the industry. Mine is a free-form pool. I have step concrete around the sides and a waterfall that we put on the back end of the pool. It's beautiful and has a great structure. I'm very pleased with its saltwater builders. It generates its own chemicals to keep the filter clean and is maintenance-free. I love getting up every day and going in it. My project manager and scheduling team did an excellent job. They communicated properly. I knew everything that's going on before it happens for they gave me a heads up. It was amazing watching the process.

I was looking through the internet, and found a company called, "Build Your Own Pool". I didn't want a cookie cutter type of pool and wanted my own design. Having lived in Europe for over 20 years, I saw many styles of pools over there, and wanted to bring that concept here, so I thought a pool company called "Build Your Own Pool" would help me achieve that. When I called that company, Anthony & Sylvan Pools was the one that answered, and they helped me with the design of the pool that I wanted. The project manager and scheduling team were incredible. Don came over on a daily basis to ensure that the project was going forward. He not only emailed me the results, he also knocked on the door and spoke to me, letting me know how things are progressing, if there were any delays or any issues with the city, any contract issues or worker issues, and he was able to resolve everything.
I like how we have a unique style of pool. It's built to my design and my satisfaction. The deepest part is only four feet, and the shallow part is three. I made it into a wading pool. It's probably the only pool that I know of that has five different statues that pour water into it. It's got the shelf where we can relax in the shower part, and benches underneath. I wanted something to be able to relax, walk around, and lounge in, and that's what Anthony & Sylvan provided.

We've wanted a pool ever since we bought the house. I saw the work of Anthony & Sylvan on a local plumber in the area as well as in the field. They have good quality of work on what they do so we chose them to make our pool. My daughter and I really like the sun shelf that they put in. The concrete pool is the only way they can do that. It's a lifetime investment for us so I'm looking forward to the quality of work and the guarantee that they give their projects.
My sales lady, Rosemary, much did the job of the project manager however. If I couldn't get in contact with Dennis, which was usually nine times out of ten, I would call Rosemary and she will have the problem solved within the hour. Rosemary is probably the one that I had have to thank for. Anthony & Sylvan probably can't pay her enough.

Our pool was built in 1988 by Aloha Pools in Charlotte, North Carolina. And when my wife was looking online on her iPad, she happened to see an advertisement that came up. And we had discussed the fact that our pool looked like it was going to need some type of renovation. It was a plaster pool and we noticed that a lot of the color was starting to come off and it was looking really splotchy. It was still functional but it didn't look good, and that's when my wife said that she had checked Anthony & Sylvan out as far as the reliability, and they had a very good reputation, so we contacted them and went from there.
The design consultant David came out to the house on at least two different occasions. The first time was to check the condition of the pool and take some measurements. And then he got back to us and told us how much it was going to be. He also came out during the course of the renovation, just to check and make sure everything was going well. He was very responsive. I had several questions, and if he was not immediately available, he got back to me fairly quick. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction.
However, I tried with the customer service of Pebble Tec, which is the product Anthony & Sylvan used on my pool, and I'm totally dissatisfied with Pebble Tec. I tried to register the completion of the pool on at least four different occasions, but the website was not functioning. I called customer service, and they said they would get back to me but I've never heard from them.
But as for Landon Pools, the contractor that did the work, they were very nice people and they answered any questions I had. I watched them work, and they were very efficient. Moreover, the coloration of the pool is very nice. Aesthetically, it looks a lot nicer than it did before, and looks more natural - the water is bluer. The other thing that I really like about it is that it appears a lot cleaner all the time, and that's one of the things that worked out very well.

I had already researched about another company and had them come out. Then I ran across the name Anthony & Sylvan. I didn't know anything about this company, but on the internet, I sent them, "If you are interested, give me a call". They called several times, but I wasn't going to have them come out because I've already decided on the company. However, one Saturday, my cellphone rang, and it was Anthony & Sylvan. They asked if they can come on Sunday and talk to me, and I couldn't think of a way of getting out of it, so I said they could. I liked the person who came and scooped out the premises. I also liked the contractor that was on top of all the building of pools in the area. Both fellows won me over.
I had lots of interactions. Sometimes they were a little slow in getting back to me, but I was hitting them at a busy building season. The scheduling was rarely on target, but I don't blame that on them as we had weather interruptions too. Other than that, everybody was in the same ballpark. My pool is free-form with a spa. I have something else they worked with me on, which I drew out on paper. They worked back and forth with me several times until we got the shape in the way I like it. I like the pool's size, shape, and flagstone. I also like how it draws the family together. Everybody comes over, and it's sort of the central gathering point.

I researched on the web, had a total of three companies come in and I liked Anthony & Sylvan the best. They made a rectangular 20 by 40 pool for me and it has a sundeck off to the side. It also has a small area of about six inches of water that has little bubble jets in it to circulate the water and a vent going down the side of it. The project manager was very helpful. He always returned calls and answered questions. And the biggest thing I was impressed with was the crew they brought in. They were prompt, professional and picked up after themselves. They also told me what they were going to do and explained everything before they started digging or anything like that. And the project manager was always here with them and he would call and let me know if they're going to be here tomorrow at a certain time. It was well-orchestrated.

We contracted Anthony & Sylvan in October 2014 to replaster our 24000 inground pool that they had built for the previous owners of our home in 2005. We also had them retile the waterline and waterfall as well as reset all coping around the pool perimeter. Work began in May of 2015 just after we opened the pool. The coping was reset no problem, and for the most part the tile work was done well. The plaster was done quickly and without allowing an overnight curing as recommended by CLI, the plaster manufacturers.
The crew rushed the job, and the aggregate was not spread evenly, leaving bare patches of blank plaster and inconsistent color overall. We were told this is "normal" and it would look better the second season after the plaster cured for a season. A&S also performed an acid bath at summer of 2015 end in an effort to bring out more aggregate. In addition to the acid bath they promised to monitor ph levels during the winter and add chemicals as needed to get a positive response when we opened in 2016. They failed to follow through and did not monitor or add chemicals as promised all winter. We opened the pool in March of 2016 to a solid white ring around our entire pool... The acid bath caused the permanent ring! A&S drained the pool and did a direct acid bath to the entire pool. The ring didn't go away and the rest of the pool now looked worse. They conceded to a replaster of the pool.
On the replaster day, the crew showed up at 7am (same crew that screwed it up the first time). By 8:30, rather than remove the bad plaster that was put on the prior year, they had scored slots in the pool surface with hammers and were beginning to add new plaster. By 11:30, the new plaster was on, and they were adding water. The water truck was only able to add 21000 gallons because we had such a thick layer of new plaster in the pool. The pool wall now stuck out by an inch in varying spots, from the tile water line. Our returns, main drains, pool light, and purge valves were now recessed by an inch to an inch and a half in essentially divots along our pool surface. Within 3-4 hours of the water being in the pool, the new plaster began to pop off in chunks like popcorn, leaving holes we could push fingers and toes into.
A&S tried to say it was random and they would patch the holes. We contacted CLI to have them check their plaster and explained the application process that had taken place. Seems their guidelines are a 2 day install not a four hour install. A&S sent a diver out to inspect the pool, who claimed our pool was screwed up and plaster needed to be replaced... a third time! It seems the plaster was shifting and popping off as well as it had air between the layers and bubbles came up when the inspector tapped the surface with a hammer.
We scheduled the third try within three weeks of the last inspection. Now we are in mid July of 2016, when most people like to use their pool and not have hassles to deal with. Pool was to be taken down to the gunite over two days, one day for cleanup and two days for new application of plaster and refilling. Water truck to provide all water. On the first day the crew shows up to begin demo, but nobody brought a pump to drain the pool. Crew waits for 2.5 hrs and randomly leaves without any contact or explanation. Pump arrives about 15 minutes after the crew snuck away. Nobody knows where crew went and ultimately a story was made up about a missing CDL license that the crew needed to drive the commercial truck, but the crew was in a Chevy pick up, A&S lies a lot.
Project manager drains pool on his own and begins breaking up pool with a hammer and a chisel. Steps to pool are demolished and no crew return for a day. Only after many calls and voicemails to corporate office do we get a crew in the late afternoon of day 2 to begin demo. Crew works all day Wednesday and Thursday and should begin new plaster on Friday. Plaster is delivered, obtained from a sister company of A&S, and turns out to be expired and unusable. Pool was promised completed no later than Friday. Pool sits empty and a hazard from Thursday until Wednesday of the following week.
Crews arrive and begin plaster job. They plan to plaster and fill the same day. We had to confirm with CLI that their plaster is designed to be applied over two days, with the second day being an acid wash day, once the plaster has cured overnight. We had to convince the project manager to do it over two days because this is how it should be applied per the manufacturing company. They finally agreed and pool was filled on day two.
We had to negotiate two weeks of brushing and chemical maintenance for the pool as we had already done that the prior two times A&S did the screwed up plaster jobs, plus we wouldn't be home to do it due to a pre-planned trip. Owen at A&S agreed in writing via email to this service. Amazingly the job stopped after one week. We called our contact who had been doing the brushing and chemicals and he told us he had been told the job was done after a week. We called Owen about them not honoring what they had promised in writing, and we were given a story of family members in hospitals and that was why the pool guy didn't show up... Not at all what the actual guy told us! Again, A&S lies a lot.
During the renovation, the crew cracked our pool deck. A&S attempted a repair after the first plaster job but it didn't take and was unacceptable. They agreed to fix it once the pool was complete and send a professional concrete guy to do the work. Apparently a professional concrete guy looked at the problem and made a report, but the people at A&S decided to send the same guy who couldn't fix it the first time out to try again, after they promised a qualified concrete person would do the work.
As of the writing of this review, the crack is not fixed. A&S has offered us $2,000.00 for the inconvenience they've caused us over the last two swim seasons. They feel that is satisfactory given that they finally feel they have the pool surface corrected. Given the lies we were told, the schedules and promises that were not kept, the days of work that were missed by family members to be there and supervise pool work that wasn't done and crews that didn't show or left without working. This is not even close.
They don't keep to schedule unless you hound them. They don't return calls unless you call multiple times and work your way to the top. Even then the CEO still had two unanswered messages from me. It was only after we went to social media and posted our dilemma that we got attention from corporate (Owen), because they don't want bad reviews. Do not use this company unless you are willing to micromanage your project and stay on them for every detail. Get everything in writing and make copies of all notes you are given. If possible record conversations as they will change stories for their best interest if you don't have accurate records.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. At this time, our understanding is that all agreed upon work has been completed. If you have any other unresolved concerns, we'd be more than happy to review them. Please contact us, at your convenience.

We've been thinking about having a pool for 10 to 15 years. We actually looked up Anthony & Sylvan on the Better Business Bureau, and got a pool from them. We've had numerous interactions with the project manager and scheduling team that have kept us updated, and we were very pleased with that. They were very proactive in our communications and pretty involved in scheduling dates and times, and in keeping us informed. As an example, we were having our house built at the same time as our pool, so they came out and made sure that when we talked to the builder of the house, we would tell them that we needed to put up construction fencing to ensure the safety of the house crew versus the pool crew.
Our new pool is free form and has a spa that we enjoy. We live in Houston so I feel a little warm, but we enjoy the spa in the cooler weather and swimming in the pool during the summer. Our kids are in college now so we enjoy having the barbecues out when they're home. We enjoy any time by the pool with the family, and then eventually we would more enjoy spending time with the grandkids out there.

I wanted a fiberglass pool and I couldn’t find it. And then the next thing was who is going to install it. I wasn’t comfortable with how it's going to be installed so I called Anthony & Sylvan. I wanted to hear about their fiberglass pool. When the salesman came he told me to think about a concrete pool. I said no since it's too expensive. He said they mostly do concrete pools and not so much fiberglass because they have to port them and carry a lot and it's probably going to be more expensive for that. He opened his book, showed me some pools and started talking about them. I started getting excited. When he told me the price then I got depressed. It was too expensive and then I got happy because I decided I didn’t really need all those things. The salesman didn’t push me nor try to sell the pool. He just showed me what it would be like to have the pool and that’s why I bought the Anthony & Sylvan concrete pool or concrete plaster.
Our pool is a free form pool. It's 15,000 gallons with a sun shelf. It has a bench around the side and on the deep end which isn't deep. I only want a 5-foot and that was another drawback with the fiberglass pool. It had to be deep on one end. They told me it's 3.5 to 5 feet and in the 5-foot end there is 1 feet on one side and another feet on the other side. And then I have an umbrella stand, an umbrella hole on the sun shelf. Many people love the sun shelf. I put chairs on there and stuck the umbrella in the hole. So it's concrete except for one and then they came and plastered it and filled it with water. We got the cobalt colored courts inside with the plaster instead of just being plaster, so it's a mixture. It makes it harder.
I love everything about the pool, but it's really strange because we have cool decking which is non-slip and it doesn’t get hot and the texture in the pool is nice on the seat and it's not slipping, but when one gets to the coping, and I found this with the kids that are running to the end of the pool and then jumping in like cannonball, the coping is extremely slippery when it gets wet plus the kids sit on it because it's really hot in the sun. But, I like it anyway. I don’t run and jump in the pool. I just wish the coping was non-slip and it would have been perfect. I love the sun shelf.and the umbrella holder. I like the seats on the side and the bench that’s attached to the sun shelf. I also love the simple tile that I picked.
They were very good about coming out and fixing an issue. They do come back and take care of things. All in all working with them is good. The schedule they said they were coming, they came. They also kept me up to date. They said they would protect my windows and they brought stuff to protect the windows, but they didn’t bring the stuff that my husband felt was enough to protect my windows when they’ll be shooting all the concrete. I have plastic windows and so we just covered the house with plastic on the one side. But if I had to do it again and I knew about this and I had the time, it would be absolutely perfect. It was 100 degrees here yesterday and the water was 2 degrees, no heater, but it was nice sitting in the sun shelves, swimming in the pool. It was wonderful. I'm enjoying everything about my pool. I have more company and my grand kids are always here. I love it. It's nice.

Dave came to our house sometime in the evening to complete the contract. He was extremely flexible from that perspective. He also was a good contact person to have - very attentive and supported me along the way. If I called him, he followed up. When I was waiting for the first day of the project to occur and it didn't happen as I had expected, he followed up with the scheduler and everything was straightened out. We heard about Anthony & Sylvan Pools through some people that we knew on the East Coast that had referred them and said they’ve done a fantastic job and wonderful follow-ups. Even after the pool was put in, they really stood by their product. So when we moved out to Nevada and got a pool, they were the first people that we checked with. We got a geometric pool with a baja landing in it, and it has a side bench and two water fountains. It's about 15,000 gallons and it's a salt water pool. I love the fountains and that it's salt water.
They also put in an underground cleaning system for us, and that was recommended by the gentleman that sat down and talked to us with the consultation. We took his recommendation and I have no regrets. We don't have to have the little apparatus that is in the pool all the time with the hose cleaning. Instead it has little pop-ups at the bottom and filtration systems, and it's automatic.
Their project manager also came by frequently to check on the site. We had a little bit of a delay because we had some other construction going on at the same time, but he was always here. Sometimes he would come by early and we didn’t even know, and he would check out the site. And then he would send us an email saying he's checked on the project site today and this is what he saw. So anything that needed an improvement or to be changed, he noted that and let us know. Evidently, he was always one step ahead. So I'd absolutely recommend them. Even when I went to the local pool store here and I was telling them that we had a salt pool from Anthony & Sylvan, they said that we really have a great pool because Anthony & Sylvan stands by everything they do.

I like its appearance, the manner in which it was built and its low maintenance. The pool is for my kids and they enjoy using it. I'm looking forward to many more years of that.
As for the team who worked on the pool, I had a fairly heated argument with the project manager, Harold, at the very beginning of the project, and during which we both expressed our views very openly. As a result of that, we've developed a great respect for each other. And he did an absolutely first-rate job for me and he's become a personal friend ever since. I'd recommend his service to any future customers of Anthony & Sylvan.
There was an issue with the scheduling team initially, too, with how soon the pool would be finished. I went right to the head sales manager of the whole Anthony & Sylvan. He worked at the Philadelphia office and he's very knowledgeable of pool chemistry. He's been in the business years and years and he told me what day they'd have the pool finished and it was finished precisely on that day. Everything he said happened, so I was very pleased with that result.

I knew Anthony & Sylvan is a big company. I looked at their website and seen some nice pools. They did a geometric pool for me that has a spa, waterfall feature, and scuppers. We use it every day. I like how they fit as much pool as they could in a small space and built it exactly like I wanted it. They're the only company that would do that. The project manager did a good job. It's Michele whom I dealt with most of the time. She did a fantastic job and really helped with the process a lot.

We had a neighbor that had a good experience with Anthony & Sylvan and she recommended them. My wife wanted a pool for five years and I was skeptic saying, "It won't fit in our backyard, it's too much money, and we won't use it." And oh my God was I wrong. It brings the inside outside and we live by this pool now. It is a custom designed pool. It has a sunken spa, raised waterfalls and is bigger than the normal pool. It's our favorite place to sit and the kids are in it every single day and just to sit there and watch these kids enjoy the pool and turn on the sound of the waterfall or get into the spa or just sitting next to it and has lights come on at night is just gorgeous and our designer talked us into fire pits or fire urns rather on each side. It felt normally good because it's kind of expensive. And so we go out there at night. We turn those fire urns on with those lights and it hits the water it just puts you to sleep. So we love it all.
Bryan, the designer and the salesperson, was so experienced and he was so easy to talk to and the interaction was just so pleasant. We would have an idea and he’d have an idea. He would use his experience and point us in the direction but without superseding what our wishes were. That combination of our vision and his experience end up getting a nice pool than I've even imagined I'd be able to get. We just love him as a salesperson, his expertise, the way he managed the whole project, and getting us to sign the contract.
And so once everything was done and documented, what's great about Anthony & Sylvan is we now get passed to another subject expert, our project manager Ray. I've dealt with a lot of project managers and I've been fortunate that I worked in corporate America for a long time as an executive and I've never had a project manager that communicated as well as he did. He was as agreeable and easy to work with. He always without fail would return a phone call or an email. He’d come see us when he didn’t really even have to. His customer service care was just beyond reproach. We had the best experience with Anthony & Sylvan. We got very lucky on our designer and our project manager.
Anthony & Sylvan transformed our backyard into this outside oasis that the whole family now enjoys. So now all of a sudden it's really not even a pool. It's a gathering place. It's now a structure, instead of just an extension of the inside. What I love the most about the pool is it encourages family time and it brings family together.

We were doing a research on pool companies that are local to our area and came up with a list of eight different companies and called all of them. Many of them were unresponsive. We finally narrowed it down based on ratings, company reviews, and also on information that we obtained on the internet from other customers. We made an appointment with Anthony & Sylvan and they came right on time when they said they would and the quality of their responsiveness is a big deal because a lot of those companies in this area are just not as responsive to our questions. So we took three different bids for the same exact pool and Anthony & Sylvan was the most competitive. We had made a decision to go with them, given that they are the most responsive and has the best pricing. They're a more established company and that’s probably why they're able to do that.
Our project manager, Jesse, was wonderful. Out of the entire experience, interacting with him and working with him was probably one of the best experiences we had from a customer service perspective. We call him, text him different hours. We emailed him for some questions that were sometimes silly because we were just curious and we didn’t have a pool before, but he was very responsive. He’d get back to us right away, was always pleasant and just somebody who’s really easy to work with, very respectful and just very professional.
We have a big rectangular pool made, measuring 45x20, that has a cover. It also has a spa and it's beautiful. It has glass on the edge of the tile on the inside and it's perfect. It's a saltwater system with lights. It also has waterfalls and it's just wonderful. We're able to enjoy our pool with our family. It's refreshing to entertain friends because of the hot weather this whole summer.

We had Danny with their sales and Trevor was our pool manager and he was phenomenal. He was excellent, very knowledgeable, and helped us throughout the entire process. We got a free form pool and added loveseat. We like the style of the new pool. We get tons of compliments of how the pool looks at the raised beams, the tile and the color. The coping that we've set is just beautiful. We like going in and feeling refreshed these hot days. We have the Hayward lights so we're able to go in at night and it's such a social attraction. Many people love coming and just hanging out in the pool. We recommended it to a friend and they went through as well.

We wanted a pool when we moved to Nevada because of the climate. We have a nine-year-old son and we want him to be outside in the pool, instead of inside on the computer. So as soon as we bought the house, I started the process of looking into pools. I have a friend who had also recently moved to Nevada and she did her research. She looked at different companies and had different companies come along, and she worked with Anthony & Sylvan and was very happy with the results. I saw her pool and it’s magnificent, so I went with the same company.
The project manager was awesome. He was on-site each time something was happening. He addressed every question I had. Whenever I called him, he would immediately be here to come and see what I was talking about and make sure that everything was like I want it to be. It was a very painless process. One of my requirements was that I didn't want my pool to be boring, so they did different sides around the pool. It has a spa, too. It's a very interesting pool to look at so I’m very happy with it. It’s not a saltwater pool but it is so easy to maintain that I can’t even smell that there’s chlorine in it. It's really nice to use and so is cleaning it. It’s like almost no maintenance. When the weather is hot, you just jump in the pool. When it's cooler, having a hot spot is fantastic and I soak in nice warm water.

We chose Anthony & Sylvan to re-plaster the pool this time because they originally did the pool. We had used someone in between but that ended up not being a good job. That has only been less than a year and Anthony & Sylvan had to do it again so I’m hoping that it will hold up as well as the original. They re-plastered the whole inside of the pool. All we had was just the re-surfacing of the pool itself. Their staff called a couple of times and indicated they would be contacting by mid-April and they did. They then indicated they'd contact us several days before scheduling to make sure that we were gonna be here. They showed up on time and did a very good job. The pool looks very nice and we’re very pleased so far. When we started getting the blisters from the other company’s job, it made the pool always look dirty, but now, I like the sparkle the pool gives.

Anthony & Sylvan is one of the three major pool builders in the area. We looked into them since they're the better-known pool people and a fellow I work with spoke very highly of them. Dave, our designer, did a great job listening to us. Our pool is a little bit lower than our original patio and we surrounded it with another patio area. Our budget didn’t allow the fancy waterfalls and stuff and Dave suggested other water features which fit our budget.
We had some ups and downs during the building process. Never having a pool before, we didn’t know what to expect. But everyone was extremely polite and very responsive. The bottom line is Anthony & Sylvan stood by everything. Every problem we had may have taken an email or a phone call but they came through on all their commitments so far. Whenever we had a situation, they dealt with it head-on, whether it was one of the subcontractors or issues with the city. Discussions were easy.
We enjoy all the aspects of the pool. We have a shallower end going to the deep end, built-in chairs and a couple of curves. It has more features than we thought about. It’s been only about three months and maintenance has not been an issue. We use the pool a lot with the kids and grandkids. My wife and I go out there after work sometimes to relax, get some peace and quiet, and have nice conversations without all the distractions of the house, with the phones, cell phones, computers, TVs, etc. It’s also a way to have fun with people in the summer. I’m looking forward to using the spa in the cooler weather. We debated about it 'cause we didn’t know if we’d really use it. I never liked spas and it bothered me, but having our own and knowing everything about it has been very enjoyable. We’re very satisfied.

So when she said that she wanted a pool, she said to make sure we get an Anthony & Sylvan. So that’s what we did.
The experience was good from start to finish. From the salesman to the installation and dealing with the project manager Jessie, they were on top of their game and did what they had to do. My husband and I are from New Jersey originally and we heard of Anthony & Sylvan Pools then. We're in Texas now and we knew that they were a reputable company. We did three bids with local companies and we felt that Anthony & Sylvan was by far the best choice. Corey, the designer, was excellent and got our vision. We wanted a natural-looking pool that fits aesthetically and literally into the yard, and keep our foliage. We love that Corey knew to build the walls higher because it's different heights. So we went with the 18-inch for the bricks and used moss stone that looks beautiful and natural. The project manager is a forever friend. He was fantastic, professional, timely, friendly, and smiling every visit. We mostly talk to the staff on the phone, but they were wonderful. Michele was very professional and got things done immediately.
I love everything about the pool. It blends perfectly into our yard and looks like a spa resort. The seating is well-thought out. The way the spa is, I can sit in the main pool and be comfortable and talk to anybody. We are outdoor people and the pool extends our family time into the evening and we're able to relax and swim at night. It's the best thing that our pool has done for us.

Our house is a brand new construction. I did some research about pool companies and the very first time I heard about Anthony & Sylvan from our project manager, I researched and interviewed the company. I interviewed many pool companies and I liked Anthony & Sylvan. I hired them and it was a very good decision. The pool is rectangular and with all the features, but we do not have a spa. It’s more for training my youngest daughter. The pool is heated, has an automatic cover, and easy to maintain and keep clean.
When I talk to Anthony & Sylvan and they explain the way they work, I can see that they have a very good system. They are friendly or confident and there is nothing improvised. We started with the salesperson. We checked out the lot, discussed the details then passed to the project manager for the construction. Jeremy answered all the questions, presented us the plan, and they worked by the plan. There were some things here and there, but he addressed them immediately and was available all the time. Very professional and very good communication. Anthony & Sylvan delivered like they promised.
The contractor who dug the pool dug three feet on the lower shallow end, but we have a starting block that required four. Anthony & Sylvan caught that early enough and they fixed it. It was not even an issue but it’s a thing that they addressed very seriously. I cannot be happier. At one point, the starting block was moving and I emailed Jeremy and he stopped by the same day and fixed it in place.

We've wanted a pool for a couple of years. We were working with somebody who had worked with Anthony & Sylvan Pools at one point. They seemed to have their act together so we looked to see if Anthony & Sylvan might be more organized, and they were. Plus we were hopeful that the warranty would be stronger from Anthony & Sylvan because they’re established. We got a free-form pool from them and we have the jets.
The scheduling was really easy and it went well with the project manager. He found us some DURAROC which we’re very appreciative of. We needed more of it around the pool before we could proceed. He was so busy, though, that it was sometimes hard to get a hold of him to get an answer. Also, the training on how to take care of our pool wasn’t very extensive. We were a little bit on our own in that regard, trying to figure out chemicals.
Other than that, we like having fun in our pool and we have another reason for people to stay and enjoy our home. We also like the tanning ledge and we put in an umbrella holder. For the little ones, it’s nice to have a little shallow area for them to play. Later on, when we have time to relax in our older years, we’ll be able to sit there on a lounge chair too.

This is my first in-ground pool. I took Anthony & Sylvan because they’re a national company and they have two stores in the Houston area. I knew that they were going to be reputable. My pool is free-form in shape. The shallow part of it is a 5-foot by 9-foot area that’s 6 inches deep. The rest is around 24 feet long by 18 feet wide. I like the way it got designed. I can sit at the shallow end and my grandkids can play in it. I don’t have to worry about them being in the deep water. It’s far enough from my house so it gets sun all the time. It’s also easy to maintain. I just take a net and take rubbish out of it. We chlorinate it through the chlorine tabs to keeps it clean.
Everybody from Anthony and Sylvan did what they’re supposed to do. The guy that designed the pool was great. He came over with a computer and designed it right there with us. He showed us what it was going to look like and left us a colored printout of the pool. Our project manager was excellent. I had no problems at all with the contractors, too. After that, I did some research on the internet. It said it was a big company and had a lot of good reviews so I chose them. Bill, our salesperson, did a very good job of working and sitting with us and planning out what we wanted – to have a large deck. Our backyard’s sloped a lot, we have to go down from our porch at about eight steps. Most of the pool is above the ground and it had to be like that because we’re on a hill. Then Jeff was very good about calling and when we had a concern, I'd just call him on his cell phone. He was very cordial and he visited when he was here. Tina, who was in the office was helpful as well. She sends us updates and emails and I usually knew what was going on.
Our pool's geometric and a rectangular one. It has a spa that’s almost square on the side. I have grown children and grandchildren and I wanted them to be able to play volleyball and float so it holds about between 15 and 18 thousand gallons. It’s a nice size. I like getting in it after yard work. I also love the color of the water that it turned out, it’s a beautiful one. And for whatever reason, it always looks sparkling.

Nothing ever goes perfect especially with construction, but they were really good about responding to any questions/concerns that we had right away. My sales designer Aaron is fantastic and the best person throughout the entire process. When everything started going sideways, he was really quick to get on top of it. We decided to get a pool because it’s a better alternative than trying to buy a house in Lewes, DE or Rehoboth Beach, DE near the ocean. I’m 70 years old, and when we are going to swim, we didn’t want to drive three hours there and three hours back, so we opted for a lesser expense and decided to get a really nice pool. We contacted nine different pool installers and many of them were landscape guys and they were doing pools because it would go well with landscaping. Anthony & Sylvan is a national brand, and we went with them since they're a pool specialist.
We have a saltwater rectangular pool. We wanted to do the powder cover, but they can’t do it on asymmetrical pools. We then had brackets installed this past weekend for the winter cover. Our pool is 40 feet by 17 feet wide and it has a heat pump for heating, and it has a great filter. We went with the best since we figured it would be less hassle down the road. Anthony & Sylvan went with TDH landscapers who did a fantastic job. We had a pavilion installed which is 10 by 12, and it’s powered up. We have a fan with a light in the ceiling. We have GFCIs attached, and the paver decks are nice. We did the pavers because if we did concrete around the area around the pool, it will crack. It's more expensive but would certainly be more durable and longer-lasting, and more stain resistant overall, and it’s gorgeous. There’s also a wall on the back side of the pool which has three ascents like waterfalls, and my wife is happy with it.
We just had the salt conversion and it's great. We have a resort that is 30 feet from our backdoor, which is good when we have our family and friends. The pool is great because it gives me an opportunity to loaf. I swim, sit, have a drink or a beer, and do nothing. It’s great relaxation, like a mini-vacation every day. It’s great to be able to go out and uncover the pool and take a dip and cool off after I’ve done the yard or cut the grass. We always have something to do. We can have some fun. Our pool is great for my daughter and my two and a half years old grandson. He wants to get in the pool and likes the white part of it that's 6 feet by 17 feet. It’s about eight inches deep, so he can play there and have a good time and we can just watch him. He likes to stay on the white part because it looks whiter than the rest of the parts and it’s shallow. We have umbrellas and can sit there and cool our heat off.
A&S Pools did a great job. When they schedule things to be done, they make sure that they are done quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. An example is when they came in for the plastering of the pool. That was in the morning, and as they left after plastering the pool, a tank truck came rolling in to pump water into our new pool. The timing was excellent. They have a really good sense of timing and efficiency. To me, that’s what makes them different from a lot of pool companies as they get things done. Also, Anthony & Sylvan doesn’t tolerate slowness. They want to get the guys in there, in quality, and the guys work hard. Every one of them that came out here worked hard.
Our biggest problem was when the initial guy came out to dig the hole, he had a big Cat equipment loader and destroyed a part of our driveway, which was virtually brand-new. But they fixed it, so that was not a problem. And then again, we’re getting ready to have it treated with the blacktop sealer, and then this guy put a Cat up and down the driveway several times and ripped up 125 feet of it. They came back and paid to fix it, so we’re cool there in that respect. I recommended A&S Pools to a friend and she’s having a pool built by them right now.

On a positive note, the sub-contractors that actually did the work were great.
Scheduling and communication is a disaster; add 6 weeks to whatever they tell you. Be sure to record every conversation, especially with the sales people, this will ensure you get what you are promised. We found that what the sales staff promised and what is ordered for you are not always the same. In the end, the pool does look great, and again thanks to Consumer Affairs many issues have been resolved. If you have any issues with this company they are VERY responsive once Consumer Affairs is notified, I only wish I contacted them sooner.

First let me say that there are plenty of reputable pool companies in my area. My wife and I decide to go with Anthony & Sylvan because they are a national brand, the salesman was very persuasive, and they claimed that this would be a relative quick and painless experience. We met with an Anthony & Sylvan Pool representative in late Summer/early Fall of 2015. Let's start with once we signed the agreement, we never saw or heard from our salesperson. He didn't return any of our calls, or ever check on how things were progressing. They issued was a 10-week schedule, (not bad, although they promised 6 weeks). We received our building permit April 11th, and we did not see any work on the site until almost a month later, May 9th. They worked for one day. It is now JUNE 24th. They have worked a total of 6 days since April 11th.
We still do not have a completed pool. We do have a very dangerous concrete hole still in need of much work. We have planned and cancelled numerous "pool" parties and now my children are home from school for the summer with continued hot days and still no pool. Three neighbors who are interested in putting in a pool have come to see the site. Needless to say, we have steered them clear of this company, and if you live in the tri-state area, NY, NJ CT, I suggest you do the same.
Thank you very much for sharing these concerns with us. We have located your account and will be contacting you shortly to better understand your experience and to try to find a positive resolution to your concerns.

We’ve wanted a pool for the last four years. We went through a bidding process with different vendors, and Anthony & Sylvan Pools was the best fit for our needs. Their project manager and scheduling team did a great job. They understood our needs right up front, and kept us abreast of any situation that came about. They conversed with us on a regular basis and made sure that we didn’t have any issues or needs. Whenever we call them, they were able to answer our questions or get back to us within 24 hours. We have a salt water pool that's geometric and like the looks and the ease of having it in our backyard. We're looking forward to inviting friends over and enjoy it.

Anthony & Sylvan built a couple of pools for me. The first one was built by Anthony and then Anthony & Sylvan joined together. We chose them to do the renovation because they did a good job with our first pool. A design consultant came and talked about what they would do and I said I wanted to wait and do it in April of this year because I didn't want to lose any swimming time, even though they said it will only take two days. He kept in touch with me and anytime I called, I had no problem getting a hold of him. Anthony & Sylvan did come just when they said they would. They redid the tiles and coping in our pool. There were two of them and they were very good about everything. I love the new coping. I had the old-fashioned coping because it was nice and cool to the feet, and this new one is lovely and much more modern but still cool to the feet. I've recommended Anthony & Sylvan to many people.

We had been through about six other pool companies that were either too high or low and were scumbags. A co-worker of my wife told us to give Anthony & Sylvan a call. They’re a big pool company and we didn’t want to be treated like a number so we didn’t look at them first. But once we met the salesperson, we realized that he was professional and had a lot of experience. We liked what he had to say and the pricing was reasonable, so we went with them. The sales guy was excellent and when he finished his thing, he was out there to lay out the pool and handed us off to the project manager. He still followed up and was available to answer questions.
The project manager and scheduling team interacted with us constantly. The project manager would come by and do site inspections and would let me know when he was coming. The scheduling team would let me know usually the day or a couple of days before when the crew would be coming to do their thing, how long it would be, what to expect, what I should look for, or any issues. They were able to answer any concerns I had right off the bat. The project manager worked in tandem with the scheduler and met me after if I had questions.
The communication was very fluid. I definitely could tell that they do this a lot and that they run into the same questions, issues and concerns because they knew exactly how to handle them. I never had to wait for an answer nor had to sit and wonder for a week if something was going to happen or not. They’re very good at hospitality and making me comfortable with the process. I still text the project manager to ask him questions about chemical levels and about things that I should do.
My sidewalk got broken because they rolled over it with a machine. Typically, it’s in the contract that they don’t normally fix that. But given the circumstances, Anthony & Sylvan said it wasn't a problem and covered it. They did exactly what they said they would do and I have a brand new sidewalk. Everybody makes mistakes but they made sure that everything was cool. They’re great people and super professional. After they got paid, they still respond and take care of me. Their service department is great. The guys who showed me how to use the pool were awesome. They have a really well-oiled machine.
We got a free-form pool, about 17,000 gallons salt system. It's got regular coping and regular white plaster tile concrete on the inside. It has a waterfall, three-foot sheer descent. It also has a variable speed pump, filter, and two really nice Hayward LED lights that have the color changing deal. There are seven different programs we can run - Fourth of July with red, white and blue, Mardi Gras, Voodoo Lounge and Tranquility where it has blues and purples and everything slowly fades in and out and changes colors. We really enjoy it. The pool has no heater yet but we'll do it later.
The design is really what sets it off. When people come in our backyard, they’re blown away. We have a smaller yard but the guys from Anthony & Sylvan did a nice job in fitting it into the available space. We wanted it to be real curvy and they were able to do that for us. What I like is I don’t have to leave my backyard to have a good time. I’m a sales guy and am on the road all week. I don’t want to do anything but sit back and just relax all weekend long. We did that this past weekend.

Anthony & Sylvan was one of a number of people in Charlotte who do pools. I have a business and occasion to go and do a lot of people’s backyards. A number of my customers have pools and I always ask who the installer was or the company that constructed it. I often see several of their pools and I like it, and most of the customers seemed pretty happy with them. We've wanted one for 20 years. When we were looking at whom we were gonna select to build the pool, we checked at various options as well as the price that we would pay for it. We talked to their salesperson and that is really what convinced us to go with them.
The scheduling and the construction went pretty smoothly. Our construction manager was fairly accessible. He checks with me on a regular basis about my satisfaction with things and if there were ones that needed to be addressed, I contacted him and he was pretty responsive. Our pool is an irregular kidney shape, it is 14 x 32, and has a waterfall. I enjoy being able to come home after a hot day and jump in there for a period of time and have a beer or a cocktail while sitting around and talking about it with my wife. It’s something that both she and I had looked forward to for a lot of years. We’ve denied ourselves that amenity to pay for college, so we’re glad to be in a position where we’re finally able to afford the pool that we’ve wanted.

They were very prompt. All of their subcontractors were professionals and did a good job everywhere. I have a great pool which is really three pools. It has a hot tub, a waterfall into a wading pool about four and a half feet deep, and an infinity wall that flows into the bigger pool which is about seven feet deep. I like the waterfalls, the lighting, the surface, and everything about it.

We moved to Vegas about a year ago. And we lived in a city where having a pool was not feasible. So when we came out here, that was one of the decisions that we started immediately. And I knew Anthony & Sylvan from people that I know have Anthony & Sylvan pools back in New Jersey and we liked their product. It’s been around a long time. The project manager was extremely well-knowledge in his aspect of the construction of the pool. And he made himself available at all times with any questions that I might have as a new pool owner. Anthony & Sylvan were very good. Our pool is a freeform and about 50 x 30 and it has an 8-foot spa. And with it, we're looking forward to have a place to relax and enjoy in retirement.

The only time they had any issues was when the project manager was off sick for about four days after a car accident. Other than that, everything went smoothly. I was searching for a couple of months for different pool companies and met with five different ones. I was not really impressed with any of them. A lot of them didn’t even call me back. I found Anthony & Sylvan on the internet. I called them and they were extremely responsive. They came up and met with us. My husband and I felt very comfortable with the salesperson. He listened to us, got the ideas that we had and a feel for what we wanted. He came back and had the drawing of everything. It looked exactly like what we wanted it to look like. The pool is a rectangle but has angles on the sides and a beautiful rock waterfall on one long side of it. It’s really pretty and it matches the house. Everybody who has been here has said it looks like it has been here forever.
The project manager was Dane and he was wonderful to work with. He was here every week, sometimes more than once a week. Every time something was happening, he was here. He made sure we understood what was going on and what was going to happen next. He helped us through the process. Patty, the lead scheduler down there, was phenomenal also. She made sure everything happened and kept me up-to-date. If she said something was going to happen, it did.
They started on February the 2nd and we filled the pool up on March 29th. They were quick. All the different crew that came in were amazing too. All the guys who did the different stages of everything were so nice to work with, were informative and patient. When I was asking 4,000 questions as to what they were doing and why they doing it, they explained everything to me. It was fun to watch. It was a really good experience. I like everything about our pool. I love the look of it, the waterfall, and being able to walk out the door and walk into it. It’s also so easy to take care of. We're thoroughly enjoying it ourselves. I swim every day and have our family and friends get in it. It’s really added to the house and it’s wonderful.

Our project manager was amazing too. He stopped by way more than he said he was going to to keep an eye on things. Even after the pool’s been finished, I emailed him with questions and he was still very quick at getting back to me and helping me out. Having a pool right there in the backyard is super convenient. Anthony & Sylvan was from Pennsylvania where I was from and their office was right down the road from where I lived, so I remembered that they were a very outstanding pool company. It has four stairs going down with an umbrella stand in the top stair, and we can put chairs on there and sit. It's wonderful, and I love pretty much everything about it. Everybody loves the waterfall and the lights. At night, when the lights are on in the pool and you want to swim, it's really great. I also like my automatic cleaner a whole lot.
The people at Anthony & Sylvan were all fantastic. The project manager keeps in touch with me all the time to make sure everything’s okay. We had wanted a pool for about four years. I did an internet search for pool builders in my area and we went through the process of having a few of them come in. Eventually, we got an in-ground flashy pool and 500 gallons of chlorine from Anthony & Sylvan. I enjoy the whole thing about it. We jump in it as often as we could especially with this Houston weather. I do this as soon as I'm done working on my yard.
Furthermore, the scheduler and the project manager were both responsive because there were times when I couldn’t get them directly. In such cases, I got a callback or an email fairly quickly. I didn’t feel I was being avoided or neglected at all. The project manager even gave me his direct cell phone number. So when we had an issue where I had a question on one of the projects that was being done and it was after hours, he called me back about 30 minutes later. Anthony & Sylvan's pricing was fine so I went with them. They put the pool in but we did a lot of the project ourselves. We did all the pavers all around the pool, built the pool built-in beds, and did all the railings ourselves. All my scheduling was done through the project manager. I talked to him every day asking him what’s going on, when was the schedule, and when the project was going to be done. He always would get back to me in a reasonable amount of time if I couldn’t catch him when I called.
Everything Anthony & Sylvan has done was in reason and they got my project done in a reasonable amount of time. I would highly recommend them. If my township didn’t hold me up, it probably had been completed sooner. But other than that, they've done everything they said. Everything they did was good. The people that work for them were all good. Pool work is fantastic and everybody thinks the pool looks great. I love entertaining and I love water so I use it all the time. He offered a lot of good suggestions, and told me what the new style was and what everybody was doing. The scheduling and coordinating team was excellent as well. We had an above the ground pool for 20 years, and we were looking to put in a new inground pool. When we finally had the funds, we had a brand new one installed by Anthony & Sylvan. They're a reputable company and have been in business a lot longer than others. We started it in May, but because of the work schedule and the rain, the installation took a little bit more time but so did everybody else's pool. The project manager was very helpful. We had gotten things done pretty well, even when he got 70 pools going on last year. We had some issues, but he took care of them immediately.
We got a standard pool with a diving board. It has pavers versus a concrete pad and has a nice black fence around it. Since it's a new fence, it's given me time to do my landscaping this year, and everybody's happy with it. We had some issues in the beginning when we opened it but so did everybody else this year. We got a little scale that shows if the pH is a little high. But, other than that, everything is fine. One of my favorite things about the pool is that once I go in, there's no work, no nothing - it's just relaxing and hanging out. We enjoy having a pool for our children and grandchildren and having the family around the it.

We have a free-form pool and it was built to our specifications as to what shape we wanted. It has the little spas on the side. It's got a shallow, small area where you can sit on and has the little hole for the umbrella.
Our project manager, Sky, was fantastic. He was a very pleasant individual who would have no problems helping you out with anything. He was always giving us reports. He would email us pictures of things that were being done, and they were always on schedule. He was right on time with everything and he was really good to deal with. We hired Anthony Sylvan to re-plaster our pool 2.5 years ago. Almost immediately I started noticing large calcium-like deposits for lining all along the edge of the pool about 2 feet below the waterline. I also noticed them on the floor. They did come out and took a quick look and tested the water and asked me to call if they were still there when I opened the pool the following year. They were and I called but we could not line up schedules and they don't do the work off-season. So I got on their calendar as I opened the pool this spring.
A diver came out and it seems the re-plastering is completely delaminating. Disappointing workmanship. They are covering it under warranty. I complained that the refilling costs me almost $1900 and they offered to cover half. I expect them to cover the whole refill as this is the result of shoddy workmanship and no fault of mine. I saw some others with a similar refill experience. I complained and was told that is their final offer. I saw others had luck if they hired an attorney or took this to court. It seems I must do the same. I expected better from this company.

I heard about Anthony & Sylvan through basic advertising through the internet when I started doing research for pool companies in my area. I’m in Houston so there’s a lot of local pool companies around town. Based off everything I researched on Anthony & Sylvan, I felt very comfortable with the products that I was gonna get, the warranty that came with it and how they were gonna do the project. We got our pool built in October, and by far the spa and how quickly it heats up is the best feature. It takes less than 20 minutes to get to full speed so it’s outstanding.
I had three individuals from Anthony & Sylvan that were key to the success of this project. Number 1 was Jay, the designer and project lead. He came in, made us feel extremely comfortable with the process and explained the full process and what to expect, even the things that you don’t think about and most companies don’t want to tell their customers. He was very free and transparent with us. He did an outstanding job with bringing the designs to the house. You don’t have to go travel around town to get pitched an idea. At our kitchen table, he was able to tweak it however we wanted it at that time.
After the project was designed and everything was signed off, it was transitioned over to the project management guy from Anthony & Sylvan that showed up with all the designs, and he worked very well with Jay to lay out the pool and get the project ticked off. And what really held everything together was the scheduler. She was very, very available and flexible with all of our requests and needs and definitely very customer service-oriented.
I’m looking forward to not having to leave my yard. I have a resort-like atmosphere in my backyard now and my backyard is actually usable with the Anthony & Sylvan pool versus the Houston heat and humidity. It’s almost a pain to go down when you’re in the neighborhood pool when it’s a couple of miles down the road. It’s very, very easy to get outside and take a dip, bringing friends over and enjoying the backyard with just the ambiance of a tropical feel.

It fits in with the landscape and it's what we asked for. The project manager was also great. He rarely would even sleep throughout the entire process. We've been wanting to have a pool for two years, so we solicited drawings from seven different pool companies including Anthony & Sylvan where my wife's co-worker had a very pleasant experience with. I had a vision in mind of what I wanted, and Phil, the designer from Anthony & Sylvan, was the only one that really took it to heart and actually drew the design of what I wanted. He did a phenomenal job doing the plan and rendering for me, and he didn’t try to upsell me. In fact, that was probably what led me to Anthony & Sylvan. Our project manager, Joe, was extremely good. He was very attentive to any needs and kept me very well-informed throughout the entire construction project.
Now, our home is on a hill so it slants downward, and they were able to build a rectangular pool at the bottom and then a three-feet raised deck, where the spa is, and then another 30 inches with another level. I like everything about our pool. I like being able to jump in it. I like the aesthetic value of it and having a pool increases my home value. With our new pool, I enjoy utilizing the outdoor space that I have and spending more time at home instead of going to water parks or other people’s homes to swim. So we had a pool installed by Anthony & Sylvan about 3 years ago. We have had problems with the pool every year since day one. Twice they had to come out and remove metal from the side of the pool. So now we have two spots in the plaster that don't match the rest of the pool. They had to come out and acid wash the pool after the first year because the plaster had all kinds of runs in it. And now this year the pump goes up which was still under warranty when we called on Wednesday May 11, 2016 about the problem. They told us that they would send out a service tech to look at the problem on Thursday May 19, 2016 and that they needed a credit card number on file just in case the problem was not covered under warranty and that would be a $95.00 service call plus parts and labor and the service tech would have a new pump with him to fix the problem either way.
So we agreed to that. Well today Thursday May 19th, the service tech did show up at the house and guess what he said "The problem with the pump is NOT covered under the warranty." I knew that was what he was going to say. He said the pump has a chlorine burn on the motor and that is not covered under the warranty. So we told him to go ahead and replace the pump and we would take care of handling it with the warranty department. Now remember they had our credit card number on file. Then guess what he said next "I don't have the same pump on the truck to fix it. I will need to talk to my manager first thing in the morning." Yup that's what he said.
So now how long will we need to wait for them to come back out. Plus I have asked 3 people I know that works on pools and they never heard of a chlorine burn on a pool pump. Couple of other things to we have a saltwater pool and last year about every 10 days we were at Anthony & Sylvan in Severna Park MD having the water checked by their staff.
