We had an appointment with Anthony & Sylvan to have our pool renovated. Our pool is 28 years old and they built it, but at that time it was just Sylvan. They came out and we explained what we are interested in having which would be coping of the tile work, replaster along with the drains and all that goes along with it, and the mastic or expansion joints between the coping and concrete. Everything was very timely and was done according to what the initial plan was and what was initially laid out for us.
They started the job about two weeks early which is really nice and surprising and they kept us informed on all the different stages. We were very satisfied working with the contractor. It's a better-looking pool than it was brand new. The plaster work was fantastic and smooth. The tile work is very nice. We had upgraded the coping and like that a lot better. We had some extra tile work done around the steps and loveseat as well. I was highly impressed with everything that went on. I would definitely recommend them.

I heard about Anthony & Sylvan when I started doing research online. And I chose them because of the length of time they had been in business and the reviews that I have read from their office location. Besides my research, their salesman Aaron ** who is out of Austin is the reason we went ahead and signed with Anthony & Sylvan. I wanna give a lot of kudos to him. He was a very personable and forthcoming young man and there was no high pressure. After we signed with him, he stuck with us through the whole process. I would be able to call or text him for any question or concern that came up and if he didn't know the answer himself, he would get it for me in a timely manner.
And now we have a 6-foot depth freeform pool with a waterfall right in my backyard and I don't have to go anywhere to go swimming. It's open when I want it to be open and I don't have to have pool hours at a public pool. And it just creates a nice atmosphere in the backyard and it's a gathering place for our family and friends.

We lived in Dallas, Head Island and we lived on the canal. I'm a school teacher and we were making a change to move from the island to the country, and we wanted to still have a water lifestyle. So when we moved to the neighborhood, we knew that we wanted to put in a pool and maintain that water lifestyle. A neighbor and co-worker recommended Anthony & Sylvan to us. They specifically recommended Ron, the designer-agent that we went through. I attempted to contact and made appointments with several different companies. I only got really responses from two and the experiences were not very positive. I really felt I was being bullied and pushed into what they thought I wanted.
And when Ron came out, it was probably a 4-hour meeting with him. And he designed the pool onsite and went through all of our options. When we were finished, he left and then emailed us the design, prices and everything else. We were still a little bit out of our budget and he was able to make some changes that brought it to within our budget. We're just really, really happy with how well he worked with us.
We have a free form pool. We have a slightly larger swim ledge. It has the fountains on the swim ledge and a swim-out deck in the deep end. It's a wide shallow end, narrow deep end pool. My daughter is 9 and with the design that we have, we don't have to sit there and watch her because she can pretty much stand everywhere in the pool except for one little 3-foot area where she's on her tippy toes bouncing. It's a babysitter for us. We're school teachers so we're off all summer. She gets up in the morning, puts her bathing suit on, and is in and out of that pool all day long. Some people put in a pool and within a month or so, it loses its luster. For her, it's like her best friend. She's always got somebody to play with.
I like the finish which Ron recommended. Anthony & Sylvan is the only company that uses that finish. It's not a trademark like Temple Tech. We wanted a real bright finish because we wanted it real white bright because we wanted more of the Caribbean look to it than the darker looks, which to me makes pools look like farm ponds. It makes them look dark and green, instead of bright and pretty blue. And so with the bright whiteness of the Diamond Tech, that's what it's called, that with the tile that we picked for the splash area, it's just an awesome pool. It looks real pretty and it's always got that real crisp Caribbean light blue to it. We went with a chlorine pool and for me, the maintenance is nothing. Every now and then, I put in a cup of chlorine tabs and dump some acid in to keep the PH right, and the cleaner that came with it keeps it spotless. It's very, very easy to maintain.
The pools crew was awesome. Amanda was the lady who did our scheduling out of Houston. She was fantastic. She'd always call to make sure that we were gonna be able to be there for appointments. We actually had two different project managers and things went so fairly seamless that we didn't really need to see them and we didn't really see them. I had some questions at one point in time. I called them up. He was right on the job. He called me right back and answered my questions. It's just a very professional, very seamless company to deal with.
The most enjoying about having a pool is the family atmosphere that we have. We have night time family swims all summer long and it's after dinner. We're all in the pool, swimming around and playing together. You get up in the morning and go for a little swim. We have more family time oriented things because the pool's right there. It's the best investment I've ever made. Guaranteed.

My swimming pool is approximately 20 years old and was originally built by Anthony & Sylvan, so I chose them for the pool renovation. They did the replastering, and I like the sailfish mosaic at the bottom.

We've been wanting a pool for 10 years so we phoned a different company, then they helped us out and I got Anthony and Sylvan brochures. I initially thought they only did cement pools, but when I called them up, they said they do fiberglass too. So we got the free form pool from them, the one that has a waterfall, and now I get to enjoy swimming and having fun in it. During the installation, I discussed a lot of things with the project manager James such as how we wanted certain things to be laid out, what comes first in the excavation, then laying the actual pool, the walkway cement, and the waterfall. They were very good with properly scheduling everything. The pool requires little maintenance and so far, I like its temperature. Since it is fiberglass, it's always in the high 70s, low 80s.

I wanted a statue installed in my pool. Anthony & Sylvan was most familiar with the pool because they built it, so I had them install the statue. Their renovation design consultant was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. The pool renovation team was also efficient. A&S refinished the bottom of the pool -- put new tiles in and new coping. I like the overall look of the renovated pool. It looks cleaner now.

My 15-year old Anthony & Sylvan pool's tiles were falling apart and all over the place. I figured that Anthony & Sylvan may be doing renovations so I called them up. The gentleman who came out to give me the estimate, Mike, was unbelievable. He quoted right after I left a message and called me back immediately. He would schedule and come on time. I haven't had people who come to do work at my house as conscientious as he was on getting to be on a schedule and figuring the best way to do anything and I'm very impressed. The team that scheduled and coordinated the pool renovation were good also. They were all so great and efficient. They did a very nice job. Now it looks like I have a hotel pool.

Everything was on time, and I don’t remember any hold-ups from their side. They were there when they said they were going to be and they did a great job, no complaints. I had a free-form pool with a patio around, and I enjoy swimming in it.

My pool from Anthony & Sylvan is a free form, in-ground saltwater pool with a water feature. It's really pretty. However, we had some problems with the project team that the project manager was switched halfway through. The first project manager was excellent while the second was so green I had to interact with the manager instead of him. It was a little bit uncomfortable but we were still able to get what needed done. I've wanted a pool for fifteen years and now that I have one, I look forward to continued enjoyment of it.

We've always wanted a pool and we recently moved into a new house where we have a room to put in one. I did a lot of research online and had a consultant from Anthony and Sylvan come in. He had a lot of knowledge about our septic tank, and told us how things were going to have to be moved and the cost. That helped us a lot and that's why we chose to go with them. The project manager was awesome. Any time I called, he was there and was able to answer any questions that I had. He explained from the part where they started digging up to the end where they poured the concrete, the pool coat and everything else to the pool. It was a free form pool that we got and I like that I don't have to go elsewhere to swim in a pool. We also had the light that changes to different colors at night installed and my girls like them.

Anthony & Sylvan was one of the companies that had come up when I had done a search online and put in “best pools in Las Vegas”. They were one of the first companies that had returned the phone call and had come out and looked at our backyard. We checked to see other companies and they just didn’t measure up as good as Anthony & Sylvan did with their design ideas and what they had to offer.
Our pool is free form and it has a spa. We chose to go with the LED light, which is an excellent choice and our backyard's design is well cut out. We had a good experience with the team from Anthony & Sylvan. They were all pleasant. Everything was on time and we didn't have any major problems that happened. What we like about our pool is that we have our own little oasis for when we have people over. It makes a good entertainment factor for us.

While we were building our house for about a year, we knew we wanted to have a pool. Anthony & Sylvan were out in our area which is a small town so that got my attention. We contacted others and they didn't even call us back. I went and talked to Anthony & Sylvan and they were the best one as far as being on time and communicating back to us. Everything was when they said it was going to be. However, we had quite a bit of rain during the fall and the New Year which set us back but they were very prompt on letting me know what was going on and when we could reschedule. Anyway, my pool is very basic without a spa but it does have a couple of water features on the smaller end and a waterfall which is the best thing. I'm looking forward to cooling off on the hot summer days.

We've wanted a pool for 8 years and our contractor suggested Anthony and Sylvan when we were building our home. The project manager and scheduling team from Anthony and Sylvan kept us updated throughout the process and provided us with periodic updates about the construction process of the pool. We now have a roman style pool with a spa and I like the way it looks. We have a little waterfall and a booster pump. I like the way it transforms the environment of our backyard. Moreover, the pool's classic design adds to the design and the ambiance of our backyard. I like how easy it is to maintain which is partly because we use a pool service to keep it clean. It's been very comfortable and the kids use it a lot.

We like the size and appearance of the pool and we are looking forward to use it every day.

Our pool from Anthony & Sylvan looks like a bowtie that's about 32 feet long and 30 feet wide with a waterfall cascading in the center. It has natural rock on the other side. There was minimal damage done when they dug the pool and everything went smoothly except for a few rain delays. The project manager and scheduling team have been real great. They’ve answered all our questions and they’ve been there when we needed them. After that, everything was done and completed to satisfaction, and we were finally swimming. We've been wanting to have a pool for quite a while. These days, I always look forward to enjoying it when it's hot outside. The pool seems to be just a little bit cooler. It all worked out just fine.

I researched the pool companies in my area and I chose Anthony & Sylvan because I liked their sales pitch better than the others and they had more technology. I had them make me a Cozy River, it's shaped like a river (almost a lake) and has a spa. It's beautiful and appealing to look at. It's very relaxing to have a pool and I'm looking forward to more family time spent at home.
We had an excellent sales man in Jim. He answered all my questions, came out as frequently as I needed, and gave me a price I felt comfortable with. Steve, the initial project manager, was really good at answering all of my questions and was very informative. Jeremy is my project manager now. He is just as informative and helps out as much as he can. It's worked out fine for me so far but I think there's always room for improvement. I'm having some issues right now but I think they're trying to resolve it.

When we moved to our new house about a year ago, we had in the back of our minds that we would eventually get a pool. I looked around on the internet and I talked to other people. We also looked at a couple of different pool makers and we had a salesman from Anthony & Sylvan come out one time. My wife and I liked the salesman and the products that Anthony and Sylvan had to offer, so we decided to go with them. The pool we got is freeform with a diving board, and brick pavers for a deck. There's no spa, but we did see that as one of the options which we liked. We have a limited open yard at the back of our house and the people from Anthony and Sylvan were able to put the pool right where we wanted it.
Tom, our initial sales person, Jeremy, the job foreman, Jimmy and everyone we've dealt with from the company did a great job from start to finish. They answered all our questions and laid out the process for us. The process occurred just as they said it would and in the time frame that they said it would be done. Having the pool has been wonderful. We like that we're able to get in the pool, relax and cool down during the hot summers we've had this year and during the weekends after work. Now with the cooler weather coming, we're anxious to see how the heater will work and how long we'll be able to extend the swimming.

A friend of mine at work had used Anthony & Sylvan, and I remember driving by their office at League City since I was a kid so I thought they must have pretty good business if they've been there that long. We got a spa with our pool and the salesman had the idea for the shape. It’s a kidney-shaped spa and matches the pool. The other guys did the surround spa and it was nice that he came up with that idea. We were pretty happy with him. The project manager seemed to be attentive, and he came and took care of everything we asked him for. I really like the spa and we had a custom tanning ledge built that which you could just put a chair on, and we like that spot. The kids love swimming in our pool, it keeps them at the house and they’re not running down the street.

When I decided to move to Las Vegas, I decided to get a pool with Anthony & Sylvan because a realtor told me about them. I also had read about several companies in Las Vegas and they seemed to stand out. They're also the largest pool builder in the country and have many years of great business. I chose them also because when I initially contacted them, the people that work for Anthony & Sylvan kept following up with me. They also had good customer feedback. Our pool is a freeform pool with no spa. It’s approximately 30 by 17, 6-foot the deepest end, 3-foot the shallow ends, has a waterfall, and it has a deck that rises up to 3-foot above the waterline at the deep end. It has a real nice walkway all the way around it and patio.
I liked that it’s heated by solar. It works extremely well. The pump is programmable. It’s a variable-speed pump, and so we can adjust the speed at different times of the day. And I enjoy using it; I use it every single day that we’re home. I’m doing all the maintenance myself, and I find it relatively easy to do the maintenance. It’s nice to know that if I just want to go out and jump in the pool, I can do it. I don't have to drive to a public pool. It feels great especially when it’s 110 degrees out. But I did have an issue with the project manager. He didn't communicate as well as he should have. I have been a project manager myself and I know how important that is to the customers. I tried to convey that to him and he didn’t understand that. That’s the one area where I felt Anthony & Sylvan could have done a better job. But I definitely would recommend Anthony & Sylvan.

We've been really serious about wanting to have a pool for about a year. I got pretty sick and we were looking for a pool that I could do exercises in. We first went for another pool-building company but I was not happy with them since they didn't seem to want to work with us. When I contacted Anthony & Sylvan, they seemed to want to work with us and give us what we wanted. Hence, we chose them to build our pool. Much of the construction process went well, but it didn't go as smoothly as I think it should have. Two or three meetings with different subs caught us by surprise as we weren't home or we had other plans.
We had them build a free-form pool which is 5-feet deep in the deep end. It's very nice and low maintenance. The pool is surrounded by cement, with a patio nearby. The pool is nice during the hot weather. We went to quite the expense for a heated pool and it's all hooked up and sitting there, looking stunning. But the water is very warm with the summer going on, so we haven't used this feature yet. Besides its daily use and the ability to cool off in it during the hot climate, the pool also increased the value of the property nicely.
However, for a company that is very complete to a point, our cleaning robot still does not work properly. The robot ends up by the stairs that go into the pool. It takes manual manipulation in order to yard it out of there and let it do some other things, but then it always ends back there in a short amount of time. The project manager told us there is an attachment that would be given to us so that it would not get hung up, but we still don't have it. Still, the equipment is top-rate and the job done on the pool was very top-drawer. With the exception the robot issue and scheduling headaches, we're overly thrilled about Anthony & Sylvan, and I would recommend them to anybody.

We had been wanting a new pool for about three years now and while doing web research, we came across Anthony & Sylvan Pools. A friend of mine at work also had recently built with them and they were very happy. So we got a spa from them. Everything was incredibly professional in the interactions that we had with their project manager and scheduling team. They made us feel like we were the only people they were dealing with because they were always available to answer questions or go over things one more time to make sure we were making the right choice. When it came to filling and adding chemicals, I wanted to make sure we were doing it right. They were always happy to talk to us, answer questions, and check on the project.
One of the things they suggested that we really liked was having the split-level style. In a lot of spas we had seen, they had it set right in the middle and this kept people separated. So they suggested moving that beyond to the bottom so there was a place for taller people to sit but also let everybody be closer together and socialize. So we have the spa with a spout of water coming out of that and then we have a wall at the end of the pool that's straight, and it has a raised tower on each end with a water feature coming from there as well.
I also love that our new pool's got a very large sundeck so it's a great place for me to be able to lie out but in such a way that I can lie there and relax and still see all the kids playing. There are lots of different heights, so there are always things for the kids to play on. All of the neighborhood kids come down to our pool and that's the place to be, and we know what everybody's up to. It's a great place to socialize and relax. What thrilled us the most is we knew what we wanted in a pool, and we had spoken with three other pool companies, and Anthony & Sylvan was the only one that in their design not only gave us everything we asked for; but really heard what we wanted and how we wanted to use it with what our family likes to do. They were able to make some suggestions to make it better than we had even thought.

Our pool has a hot tub and waterfalls with it. It's about 3.5 foot deep and the deepest end is about 5'3". It's 625 square foot and we had little inserts put in around the pool and also in all the seats so that we can put umbrellas up. And we love it so far. Moreover we had the LED lighting put in. Our project manager was good and we enjoyed working with him. We had a couple of issues with him and the scheduler but we got everything worked out. Also, we had a lot of different people working there that didn't speak English so sometimes it was hard to communicate with some of them. But everybody was very friendly.
I put a few tablets in the pool every week and keep my strainers cleaned. It turned green on me when we'd gone one week out of town for a week and a half. The person that I had to take care of it thought that they used the same tablet and thought that was fine. It took me about three days and I cleaned it up and it's been fine ever since. Ever since we got the pool, we have done a lot of swimming at night when the water's warm. We'll just get out there and sit on the edge.

I've wanted a pool for 2 and a half years so shortly after moving into our house, we started looking around and did a little bit of research. We got 3 quotes and it seemed liked the Anthony & Sylvan consultant was very knowledgeable and upfront. He was willing to stay at our house to answer any questions that we had and didn't rush us into making decisions. He was readily available any time I called or needed to speak with him. I felt comfortable with him as opposed to the 2 others. So we finally pulled the trigger back in late of 2014. We got a free-form pool, about 22,000 gallons. We also got a 6-person hot tub. It's 3 feet on one end, 4 feet on the other and 5 right down the middle. During summer, it's the way to cool off and a way to de-stress from work and on the weekends. And when it's cool outside, the hot tub is phenomenal to entertain guests.
Their staff established a good line of communication. Their scheduling was on target when the weather allowed and if there were any changes, I always knew about it. The crews were there when they said they would and didn't leave a mess when they leave. I had a pool built several years ago on another house and the crews that built it always left my backyard a mess with all of their lunch leftovers and soda cans but these guys picked up behind themselves. I had my 10 year old pool renovated by Anthony and Sylvan, and they were also the ones who built it. The design consultant came out and looked at what needed to be done, and he felt bad for us because the pool shouldn’t be falling apart in 10 years, and came back with a price of $18,000 to renovate it. I ended up writing a letter to one of the vice presidents, and got the price knocked down by a third. They remodeled the tiles and coping, although the plaster could’ve been done but we couldn’t afford it.
I had a few phone calls with the team who coordinated my renovation and they were courteous and prompt. They were here on the day they said they would be, and the crew that came did all the work in one day which was nice, but it's disappointing that after 10 years, I had to renovate a pool. For a company that builds pool for life, and having spent $50,000 on it, the fact that after 10 years mine was falling apart and I have to spend another $12,000 is disappointing.

All of their subcontractors were great. Everybody coming from the concrete guy to the electrician were all very cordial and were so nice and easy to deal with. It was such a good experience with Anthony and Sylvan and I’d recommend them. We love the spa and we also love the shape of the pool because it fits nicely within our backyard and we get a lot of praise from our friends and family when they come when we throw parties and they say that it is a nice decking. I like almost everything, but the decking and the jacuzzi is the wow factor from most of the people who come and visit us. The kids jump into the jacuzzi or directly to the pool and they love it. A friend had their pool put in by Anthony & Sylvan and she gave me the name of the salesperson. They've all been great although we had a couple hiccups along the way in terms of communication. This is the only time we've ever gotten a pool. Weeks go by and nothing happens and nobody's calling to tell what's going on which is irritating. But other than that, everything was fine. We had ours in free form and my favorite part is the hot tub. Now I enjoy just having the family together out in the backyard.

I’ve had pools my whole life. Anthony & Sylvan built my first pool, about 32 years that our family owned a summer home. It’s been an incredible experience. It’s as good today as when they built it. No major problems, so we felt it’s always been reliable. I've since built three other pools and had good luck with them. We recently moved to a house where we could put a built-in pool there, so the grandchildren could come over and we felt Anthony and Sylvan have always done a good job for us, so we stayed with them to build our fourth pool. We like lines. We like consistency. We like the fence to run the same lines as the pool and we were really pleased with the way it worked.
This time versus all the other ones that they've made, Anthony and Sylvan really embraced technology. When they come to your house now, they’re able to lay out exactly what the pool is going to look like. I felt that it was taking a big part of the business to another level, which gave me another level of comfort. I’m paying a little bit more money, but I feel that I’m getting quality. I couldn’t have a more positive experience this time and they've been exceeding my expectation.

Anthony & Sylvan were the first people that we called because we had some acquaintances who have used them. When we got one other estimate from another company, we felt that there will be more value for our money and will have a more predictable outcome with Anthony & Sylvan. When we started rolling, it almost went into autopilot, which I’m sure there was a lot of work behind the scenes. But the schedule went very quickly from one contractor to the next, and it was all very smooth. It felt like there was very little that we had to manage along the way.
Our pool is a free-form, and it has a spa and a diving board too. It has a colored plaster, and we went with flagstone coping around the edge and in the seam from the deck. What we love the most, however, is the raised bond beam, which we didn't expect. It is actually everybody's favorite jumping wall. Anthony & Sylvan did an amazing job with the design, and in tying it into our backyard. The design works really well all together with our existing patio. I love the shape and the colors, and we are happy with the size. We love having a place that we can have other kids and other families over to be here at our home and enjoy our property. I have recommended them to several friends.

We got Anthony & Sylvan off of Angie's List for their high rating and I'd definitely recommend them. The project manager sent me a daily update and any time I had any questions, I would just give him a call. He was always very responsive. We got the 12 x 24 ft rectangle pool with custom corners that are inverted instead of just a regular rectangle. I love just being able to cool off in the summer.

We’ve always wanted a pool. We had one when we lived in Florida, and then we moved. A contractor that we were using to do another remodel in the house suggested Anthony and Sylvan. We went to one of the home shows and they were there. We really liked the salesperson so we chose them to do ours freeform with a spa, with jets as a water feature. There's also a waterfall which I love. It’s very soothing to listen to the noise that it makes and being in the water is fun.
They also did a little pad that I would never have thought of. You can put your lounge chair and lie there, and the water touches you a bit but not all the way. Overall interactions with them were fine, however the project manager left the company and I hadn’t heard from anybody. Finally I got ahold of the supervisor. He was wonderful and he took care of everything that I needed immediately. That interaction put them back on this game again with me. We’ve we’ve been happy with Anthony and Sylvan and we've recommended them.

Anthony & Sylvan built us a free form pool with a pebble tec finish. Different project managers handled our pool construction so most of my time was spent juggling the scheduling on people, but Patty was awesome. We talked at least twice a week, exchanged text messages and she was very responsive and proactive.
So far we're enjoying our new pool. A lot of our free time we're out in the pool. It’s a very relaxing experience and it's nice having a place to spend time socializing on the porch.

We've been wanting a new pool for two years so we put it out on a bid to several different people. I liked what Anthony & Sylvan showed - the price was good and my son also used them in Austin. They made for us a free form pool and a waterfall and it's getting really pretty because they've done a lot of landscaping around it. We look forward to relaxing in the pool and getting in the water and entertaining people, friends, family, grandchildren. A&S did a great job every time. I've wanted a pool for 15 years. A friend of mine who got a pool referred me to Anthony & Sylvan. We have a kidney-shaped, salt water pool made with 16,000 gallons and a hot tub. The pool is easy to keep the chemicals up and keep it clean, but the best thing about it is that it's accessible. I look forward getting home to it every day. The project manager was wonderful. He actually took over the job halfway in because the first project manager, I guess, quit. He took over for him and did a wonderful job. I couldn't ask for a better deal than the great one I got with Anthony & Sylvan. They helped me handle everything pretty well.

We've wanted a pool for a couple of years now and Anthony and Sylvan was recommended to us since they did one of our friend's pools and they also were competitive in their prices. Although we're very happy with the outcome of the pool, it took us 8 months to get the pool done since we didn't know they were going to stop at the winter time and no one told us that. We weren't happy about that part of it and we're frustrated for a few months. But once they were completed and once the season kicked back up, and they started communicating again, we were very pleased. We now have a beautiful freeform pool and a raised ledge in front and the back and I love its tanning ledge and sheer descent.

We have a friend who had Anthony & Sylvan put in their pool. We've been considering getting one for the past 10 years and so we went with them. We chose a sort of kidney-shaped pool with some add-ons. We did a tanning ledge which is perfect and makes a great play space for my 2-year-old. Then we added in a couple ledges for seating, as well as a step down on the other side. The tanning ledge is definitely my favorite, as well as the Aqua Pearl finish that we chose since it gives the pool a better texture. We swim in it almost daily and the kids love it. It's really nice to have another outlet for them, and the pool is beautiful in the backyard.
Everybody's been really fantastic. Jessie ** took over a little way through and he's been amazing. Anytime we need to contact him for anything, he's right on it and makes sure that we stay in the loop so we don't feel forgotten. Anthony & Sylvan built our pool which is now approximately 10 years old. We received a flyer in the mail regarding the renovation that they offer and since we've been very satisfied with the pool since its inception, we decided to go with them. The renovation design consultant called us on the phone and made an appointment to come over. He gave us complete details of what would take place and kept in touch with us throughout the renovation. A woman also called and told us as to when the repair team would be coming to work on the pool and kept us informed on everything. They remodeled the tile around the top of the pool and the coping on the outside and it looks great. They got rid of all the cracks and put a whole new appearance to the pool.

I worked closely as well with the scheduling coordinator who was very organized and on top of everything. She made sure I always knew what was happening and when. She also helped me coordinate with another company that was going to do the concrete renovations to make sure that they knew when Anthony & Sylvan was completed and then they could come in and take over. Anthony & Sylvan remodeled my pool wherein the plasterwork was done very well and the tile is beautiful. They also suggested a row of tile across the face of each of my concrete steps and that made a huge difference. I'm very pleased, and I love everything with the newly renovated pool. I have recommended them to other people already.

The renovation design consultant had all the samples of different tiles, finishes and copings and spent a good hour with us explaining what needed to be done and the product available to do it - very professional. They reset the coping, put all new tile on it, fixed the crack that was in the jacuzzi part, the hot tub part, and resurfaced the entire pool. I’m retired and slightly disabled and deal with a lot more with contractors to do things around the house, and Anthony & Sylvan is a professional company.

Our design consultant was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He did a great job of listening to what we wanted and had great suggestions that we trusted. As it turns out, every recommendation he made was absolutely perfect. Also, their team sent us a lot of information on the front end so that we would see the plans for what was to happen, what to expect and the anticipated time frame. We were very well prepared to endure or at least be well educated as far as everything that was gonna happen, why it's gonna happen, what we needed to do to make sure that everything was maximized as far as the end result. They were a real pleasure to deal with and had great attitude.
Moreover, the guys that installed the skimmers were really sharp. They knew what they were doing and did a beautiful job of ripping out the old ones and putting in the new ones. The skimmers are now working perfectly, the water balance is very simple and easy. They did a fantastic job on the plumbing of the new filter. They did the tiles, copings and they put new plaster. It also included that device which dropped in the hockey pucks that chlorinates the pool. It was a complete pool renovation and the pool is absolutely beautiful. They did a first class job from beginning to end on the renovation. My family was thrilled with every aspect of the new pool.

We looked at several different companies and my wife whittled them down to the top three rated in Texas. We asked three different companies to give us a quote and come over. Anthony & Sylvan pretty much stepped up to the plate and did what they needed to do or what we wanted anyway. We actually didn't know what design we wanted and Anthony & Sylvan came up with the design that we liked. It's a free form which is kind of in-between a kidney and oval shaped pool. It came out very nice. We had a pool when we lived in Virginia and it was an above ground. Now our pool is an inground so we enjoy it more because it's a little safer, less hassles and headache. Anthony & Sylvan gave us a lot of stuff for the money.
Scheduling was not too bad. Unfortunately the problem we had at the time was that it did nothing but constantly rained. It just rained for the whole entire month. So it was hard to keep a schedule as much as they tried. But as soon as it stopped they were right on top. I would definitely recommend them. They couldn't seem to do enough for you. The people that worked on our pool were very knowledgeable. They did the coping tiles around the perimeter of the pool and then the mosaic tiles that are along the borderline. We had them do a geometric pool with a spa, something considered as the volleyball style pool where it's deeper in the middle. I didn't have a whole lot of interactions with the project managers because things went pretty smoothly, and we didn't have any questions. But every time I need to get in touch with them, via either email or over the phone, he was always very prompt and answered all my questions.
I like the way the pool came out. The overall design looks really good and it has neat-looking effects. The pool has been good for my wife and I. We come and relax a bit in the evenings, spend some time together, and enjoy each other's company. I wanted to express how dissatisfied I am with Anthony & Sylvan. We had a pool built last summer and one of the deciding factors we went with this company was because of the warranty they advertised. One month after the pool was completed a large section of our decking started to crack. I thought it was due to settling and thought to myself "fine, we will just call Anthony & Sylvan and have them fix that area and make it right." Boy was I wrong!! What an ordeal. Multiple phone calls were made to the Project Manager Joe, to the construction manager Mike ** and to the General Manager Bob ** and nothing was done for 8 months. We continuously called and email and finally they sent a warranty guy out that fixed that area on the decking because it was so bad.
Not even a week later we started noticing a large 20-foot crack completely across the whole width of our decking. We immediately called the construction manager Mike ** and he immediately told my husband that we should expect hairline cracks in the decking. How can someone over the phone diagnose it as a hairline crack, without even seeing it, which it is clearly not? We finally got in touch with the warranty guy that told us that they would make it right and fix it. Since that conversation which was back in March we have not been able to get in touch with ANYONE. No emails have been returned, no phone calls have been returned. I expected a lot more from a large company that builds pools all over.
We live in a new developing area where many homeowners are building pools and many have asked us about our pool building experience and if we would recommend our pool builder. Our pool is not even a year old and we have had nothing but problems dealing with this company who prides themselves with great customer service, reviews, and warranty work. All I want is for them to fix it and make right on our pool.

It's about 18-foot wide by 40-foot long, with a sun deck and a shallow end for our two small children. What I like most about the pool is its appearance, quality and construction. It was done very well, and a lot of people are impressed by how it looks. I like the color of the Pebble Tec that we used; that's a great feature. The only negative feedback we have was our project manager. He was not communicative with us during the process. As far as the actual products and work, I have no complaints. Repairs were done in a timely manner and the technicians were very polite and informative. Even the retail store personnel were great (and prompt at returning calls). The problem is getting a REAL person to answer the phone instead of "Press 1 for this, or 2 for that" and then getting a voicemail. I realize and totally understand this is a very busy time of the season but the least the reps could do is return calls in a reasonable time, if they do at all.
I was given a number to call to place an order of several thousand dollars but when I called the number it was "not in service" and when I called the office the lady stated she "did not know" the person I was asking for. I then called the rep who took the initial information, got his voicemail, left a message and am still waiting for a return call. This is a custom order and time is running out. I will need this BEFORE we close for the summer and if there are any more delays, will not have it in time.

Now everything in our pool is all coordinated and it all matches. It looks absolutely beautiful. The finish is great, the workmanship is first rate. The job was done in two days -- it was very simple and clean and quick.

We have a freeform pool with stonewall and like a water fount. We also have a sun shelf entry into the pool, where it has a pool umbrella that enables us to play under the shade in the water. We enjoy the pool because children spend more time at home. Also, the project manager of Anthony & Sylvan was wonderful to work with. I'd recommend him for anybody that wants a pool. He always responds and returns phone calls. Even after when the pool was finished and if I had any questions or concerns, he'd be my go-to guy.

We ended up getting a kidney shaped pool that's 3 feet to five feet with light. The team from Anthony and Sylvan were all wonderful. They promptly return phone calls and emails and answers any questions we have. Their designer listened to what we had in mind and came up with a really well thought out plan.

I've wanted a pool for five years and so we did our research and talked to different contractors and pool companies. We decided calling Anthony & Sylvan based on the salesperson's ability to actually show us the design without having to leave and come back. Mostly everything with the project manager went very well. Any time I needed him, I would just send him a text or give him a call and he was always available. However, the scheduling team wasn't as communicative as they could have been. Now, we got a freeform pool with sheer descent. We don't have to go anywhere because it's just right there in the backyard which is the best part. Now, I'm looking forward to our house being the place that people would want to come to instead of sending our kids over to someone else's house.

The project manager was very friendly, personable, would answer our questions, and was pretty easy to get a hold of. Our pool is the rectangular kind. I really like its color and the wall that has some waterfalls coming out of it. Now we enjoy family time by the pool - the kids as well as my husband and I swim together and have friends over.

Anthony & Sylvan have an office that’s by our home and had done pools for two other people that I know, and they had good results so I went with them. They were the only ones that actually showed up and gave me a bid out of the three people that I called. The other two guys didn't show up. So we got a free-form pool with spa. The spa is 8 feet in diameter. We enlarged that and it's raised up. It has a water feature on the back end of it. It goes from 3 foot to 7 ft. We like the color combinations, style, coping, table and cool light. There's a table in it with chairs around it so it's pretty cool.
We had really good weather so they stayed ahead of the timeframe that they quoted me. We kind of ran into normal time crunch about Christmas time because their workers go back to Mexico. But they were pretty straightforward. I guess the only downside that I didn't care for was they weren't real clear on what they were gonna do, like when they put things and the yard back together. If they damage anything in the ground it was not included and I had to fix the sprinkler system. Luckily the gates were bigger so they didn't have to take the gate down. But had they had to do all that it would have been additional. But other than that they were pretty Johnny-on-the-spot.
But I think there are some things that they should do to improve. It's kind of like when you buy a car. I'm 42 years old so by the time you buy a car when you're 42, you probably already purchased two to three cars. You know what you're looking for and you've had that experience before. Typically people buy pools once or twice in a lifetime. So the first time you really don't know what you want and what you don't want. And they should give you more options like the automatic fill line, maybe put an additional skimmer in there or give me additional options for the type of cleaner that would go in the pool. Educate the buyer more instead of just going "Okay, this is what we do." Cause the salesperson has been doing it a long time and he just ran in and it was cookie cutter. I mean the pool is pretty and I like it but there's a couple things I would have done a little different had I been more informed.
Thank you, Kevin. We're happy to hear that we came recommended and that you found us to be straightforward about the construction process. We hope you enjoy your pool and we're always here if you have questions.

We never heard from him, we couldn't get a hold of him or nothing. That was disappointing. Even after the pool was finished, he never came out. Once Owen the Customer Care got involved, the progress of the project stayed fully on track. The final product is a absolute fantastic pool area, better than expected. The work is high quality with high quality components. The landscaper did the landscaping and the EP Henry retaining wall was the best as was the decking crew who did the complete job in only 4 hours!
Expect longer time than you would think to calibrate your expectations as every step is a building block on the next and often cannot be done in parallel unfortunately. All the construction cleanup was done in a first class way by the landscaper who gave great attention to detail and that was greatly appreciated. In the final assessment, I would recommend Anthony & Sylvan as they did come through in the end with flying colors.

The Money pit. An absolutely terrible experience. Started process in March and the pool is still not done in mid June. Appointments are broken routinely. They have not completed any step on time. Took 5 1/2 weeks to start digging. Expensive and no commitment to getting project completed on any reasonable schedule. They get 99% of the money once the cement is done and then you wait. 100% of work is through sub-contractors who are quick to let you know that Anthony & Sylvan are not that good.
I would not recommend unless you have lots of money, patience and don't need a pool for the season you bought it for! Worst, and most painful home improvement project experience I ever had, and the pain continues as there is no commitment to a completion date yet. They also rip up your yard for months. Both front and backyards are a disaster area as their contractors use your lawn as a driveway with their heavy trucks and equipment. Stay away from Anthony & Sylvan. Attached is a current photo of our still unfinished and empty pool.

I would like to let people know about my experience with Anthony and Sylvan so they can make an informed decision when purchasing a swimming pool. I chose Anthony and Sylvan because they have been in business for a long time and I thought that the pool came with a good warranty. Our pool is only 7 years old and the tile and coping has to be completely redone which is going to cost us over $10,000. I know people who have pools that are over 30 years old that are in better shape than mine. I was told that the problem with Anthony and Sylvan is that they use so many different contractors that you don't always get a good one. I'm sure that there are plenty of people out there with an Anthony and Sylvan pool who are very happy - I wish I was one of them.
When I was looking for a pool company to install my pool I would not even consider some of the small local companies because I didn't think their pools would have the same warranty. Turns out, it's quite the opposite. Those smaller pool companies seem to have a better warranty and they typically only use 1 or 2 different contractors who they've used for years. My best advice to anyone looking to have an in ground pool installed would be to research the warranty - 3 year warranty on tile is not enough. I was also told that plaster pools don't last as long in the East Coast so I would suggest looking for a company that has a 10 year warranty on the plaster and don't discount the local pool companies like I did.
We're very sorry to hear this and thank you for sharing these concerns with us, Kristin. We have located your account and will be contacting you shortly to better understand your concerns and to try to find a positive resolution.

We just relocated from one part of Henderson to another part and we had a pool in our other home. Once we moved we wanted to build another one because we wanted a pool. 15 years ago when we moved into the area and we wanted to build a pool for our first house, I went to Anthony & Sylvan. And basically interviewed them to see what kind of options were available, what the cost would be, and how their program works. I was not at all happy with what happened at that time and as a result I did not go with them.
This time around when we wanted to build a pool again, I went back to Anthony & Sylvan to see if there was anything new or different about what they were doing. I was dealing with three different contractors, pool contractors and designers. And of the three I interviewed I was most impressed with what Anthony & Sylvan had to offer currently. I was particularly pleased, as was my wife, with the sales representative and the guy that did the design for them. He listened to what we wanted and then within a few short days he had a couple of drawings for us to take a look.
It was exactly what we wanted and we decided that we would go with Anthony & Sylvan this time. The design process was probably one of the most significant aspects of the entire experience. Understanding what we want, drafting it out, given us time to review it, revising the draft based on our comments. And the guy understood clearly what we wanted and he gave us clearly what we wanted. And that was good.
During the installation they assigned a project manager and my wife and I were actually out of town for the whole period of time that the pool was being built. My daughter-in-law was my representative on the site. And she interfaced directly with them. There were a couple of things that were outstanding about that relationship. One is everybody was extraordinarily polite, considerate. Two, all of her questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. Three, the guys cleaned up their mess at the end of each work day. Four, they kept her up to date on progress. If there was going to be a delay with anything, they let her know. The project manager responded to all phone calls and emails in a timely manner. And everybody’s attitude was very positive for the most part.
The only thing was the project manager at the very end after the pool was in and we had just some post construction items, the punch list. He was busy doing other things and it took us an inordinate amount of time to get those pretty small tasks completed. But everything happened up until the very end when we were waiting just for a few things like some of the concrete had not been stained properly and they had to come back out to fix that. It was just a couple of little things.
Thank you, Tom. We're so happy to hear that your family had such a positive experience building your pool with us and that your team took the time to listen to and address all of your questions during construction. We hope the family enjoys the pool and we're always here if you have questions.

This company sales representation is misleading. I advise everyone if you get a pool from them, then please be fully pool-educated. They will not only mislead, but have you sign the contract and then pretend it's in the contract so they are covered. With an average of 30,000 spent by each customer, I am spending 46,000, I think we are entitled to fair business practices. As a former United States Army Officer, and now a Senior Analyst at the National Institute of Health, I do not speak with anger but more with what is fair and unfair, what is right and what is wrong. Anthony & Sylvan is wrong, and if their sale person is misleading customers, I believe that as a company they should take responsibility.
They responded to my complaint, that will cost me close to 3000, more on top of 46,000 + already spent as they will speak to the representative and inform him to do a better job. This is unacceptable from a company of their magnitude. They hallmark their business on doing excellent services. Part of service is sales. No representative should be in the field without proper training. Not when your customers have to deal with the expense of it. I have totally come to the conclusion, that you should carefully reconsider doing business with them.
Do not, and I mean do not, take their word on anything unless it is in writing, to include any store credits, and equipment repairs, any equipment they sell. Make sure that you read the contract clearly before signing and do not rush because the prices are going to go up. My situation was that I was given the impression that all my expenses were cover in the cost. They sold me equipment that cannot operate without me spending another 3000 dollars. Also, when they told me this information, my pool was supposed to be done many days prior.
When I was notified about cost, it wasn't even from them but the private contractor that called. He told me that this was not covered in my contract, like he knew my contract. The biggest issue is the contractor guy is a guy that the salesperson knows, and I was told too late to shop around for prices. Inspections need to done, I am anxious to have my pool done, I don't have an option.
In the government we all know this is illegal. How are you sure they are not getting a percentage back from referrals? You don't...BE AWARE. I just truly hope nothing is wrong with the pool. Very good people, seem really warm, when they need your name on the dotted line. After that you are in their world and on their schedule. I signed my contract on February 6th, 2015. It is June 4,2015. My pool is still not finish, nor is there any urgency on their end.

We have an Anthony & Sylvan pool built in 1983 in a previous home that I owned and it was a positive experience. Their renovation design consultant had a single visit. He reviewed and outlined the scope of the work, and offered comments of the desirable things to be incorporated. He also provided references for ancillary work, concrete levelling, and he provided reliable references for us. It was a complete renovation of the tile, coping, sandblasting of some previously painted surfaces in the spa, and a refurbishing of the finish of the main pool.
The rep from the office in South Eastern Pennsylvania coordinated and she was an exemplary individual in terms of retention, either memory or note-taking, of all outstanding issues which she promptly addressed. We did a demolition in fall and had the pool emptied, did the tile and coping, and then the surface refinishing in spring. According to a contracted schedule, which was fantastically adhered to, we had the thing up and going as soon as the weather broke in April.
With our newly renovated pool we had limited choices on tile and coping, but it turned out that in that limited choice, one was exactly what we had in mind. And the more updated, natural, brownish tone of the coping and the square tile eliminated the earlier marine mosaic which was common in pools so the former white coping was much more attractive. Its appearance has been universally acknowledged to be very attractive by all people who see it and knew the pre-refurbishing condition so I'd recommend them to the friend.
The only negative was that they had personnel issues back in the fall which was beyond their control. Sales personnel had either health or personal situations which delayed a prompt appointment. But after they got involved, it went on smoothly. In fact, I just have an unresolved issue with them right now of a warranty thing about the grouting adhesive on the tile of the vertical surfaces has deteriorated, didn't hold up very well. I'm waiting for them to get back on the warranty issue on that one. Other than that, we've been very pleased. That's all you can hope for when you get involved with a contract.

Our swimming pool was built by Anthony & Sylvan 30 years ago so we also chose them for the renovation based on the cost and the testimonials we've read. The consultant came to finish up the tiles and after that, the work started. The first day was breaking down the stuff, prepping it up, plastering and putting the coping, and then doing the sealing. They did everything except the deck. I had interactions with all of the guys while they were working. Things were generally smooth and they listened so the results were good. I like the plastering the most as there is a bluish tint to it which looks great. Towards the end, however, there was an issue - the plumbing around the drain area was not done properly. So I had to call the manager and the next day, he scheduled another person who fixed it all up. The coordinator helped me get things done with the drain area issue. I've been in touch with her whenever I had some questions or concerns. I'm recommending them.

I was travelling of the country from time to time as the development was evolving. It was a tremendous process, but the scheduler and project manager still managed to call me and follow up from time to time. The communications between the customer and Sylvan pools are wonderful. The general manager from Philly and Charlotte calls probably every two weeks to make sure things are going good.
Our pool is a freeform, with a 6-foot retaining wall; the waterfall. I really enjoy looking at the waterfall coming out, and with the natural stone wall on the back, they are just free-falling. I used to live on the lake and I could hear a lot of noises. So this is a pretty good substitution, I just sit around and listen to it. On the social aspect, I enjoy having dinner down the patio looking at the pool, having friends over for dinners and drinks. Having the pool as the backdrop, along with the landscaping backing it, is very, very nice.

The reputation of Anthony & Sylvan and my co-worker's own testament were the reasons I went with them for my pool. It has a spa. It has a raised beam with a waterfall. It's geometric in shape, but not a traditional geometric shape. It's custom shape, thanks to my wife. She did a lot of the design of the pool. My interactions with the project manager were good overall. The scheduler was excellent. The only issue we had with the scheduler was that the change throughout the project.
At one time they had one project manager that did the whole thing. A to Z had the same project manager then they changed it to have specific project managers for different phases, and I didn't feel like the hand-off was as smooth as it could have been. Maybe that's because the first one was a rock star and did an awesome job. And then the second one was not bad, but not a rock star. They weren't really poor but they weren't like the guy who was on top of stuff and kept us informed and proactive.
With our pool we enjoy the relaxation time with the family, friends, having people over, exercise a little bit too. It helps for unwinding. A lot of people complain about their pools being a lot of work but the people that came explained things pretty well how to take care of the pool. They came back and installed the inline chlorinator. They were really good with some advice. They were all great people.
I have several neighbors that have pools, and all of them open up and they look like swamps. When mine opened up and it's crystal clear and I throw the robot in there. He takes care of the leaves. If he can't, then I use the vacuum they provided and the pool looks great. It's a testament to the quality of the products that they use as their start of the product. The filter and the pumps they use are higher quality than a lot of other companies. And I've heard a lot of bad feedback about other pool guys in the area. You can go to the store and buy chemicals from them but don't have them do anything, because the quality at the end is not so good.

One of the things that I'm excited about is the in-floor, cleaning system, where it does not require me to have to vacuum the pool or get out there with all the hoses. I've wanted a pool since December of last year so I did an online search for best pool builders in the Last Vegas local and came across Anthony & Sylvan since they had the highest rated consumer satisfaction. **, my project manager helped us along with getting the right style and the right type of pool in our backyard. He jotted down my requirements that I had a large enough pool that I could do laps in and a hot tub area that you could go ahead and relax, and a water feature. He also mentioned about having a wet deck so we incorporated that into the design. Initially, I didn't have any idea what I wanted in the pool until I sat down with ** and the more we jotted things, the better I liked it. The pool was a perfect rectangle with a six-foot wet deck area that extended off the pool.
The scheduling team did a prompt service, guaranteed their work, and notified me of any changes. ** was the contact person I had once the pool got started and he was great. He would send us emails and come out frequently to see what was going on. If we had questions or concerns, we could either call or text him. Though he was overseeing many pools at the time, he answered his cellphone whenever I called which was great. The two of them were wonderful and collaborated very well on this whole project so I am very pleased with them.
I have recommended Anthony and Sylvan pool saying that they're not the cheapest pool company but you do get what you pay for and we had several people that have had nothing but problems with pool companies but not with Anthony and Sylvan. They finished the pool on schedule without any issues and everything worked properly. Even to this day, I've been using the pool considerably for doing laps. If I have questions with regards to the pool, ** is there or he would call me back. I've been very happy with the customer service that I received before, during, and even post, now that the pool is on the ground and my wife and I are enjoying it.

We decided to look for some local pool builders and we found out that Anthony & Sylvan was a few miles from the house. All I had to do is pick up the phone and call them. Then they gave us a few different options for the tile and the coping. My wife was involved in that process and they treated her very nicely. They did anything they can do to make her happy, so I was so ecstatic about it. It's a free form pool with spa and we purchased it for her. It's very important to her and whatever they can do to make her happy, I'm happy. A lot of times once you start with companies and contractors, they're not very responsive after they get paid. But they were pretty good at their jobs and they stood behind their work. It was my first time being involved in a pool build from scratch. So now I use the pool as a show place because I'm in the real estate business. I bring everybody so they take a look at the pool and I recommend Anthony & Sylvan to them.
Thank you very much, Terry. We're so happy to hear that you're family is enjoying the pool and that our team was able to make the construction process so easy for you. Thank you so much for recommending us to your clients, enjoy the pool and please let us know if you ever have any questions.

Every interaction and scheduling with Anthony & Sylvan was very professional. The project manager was always available if there was anything I needed or any explanation of things - sometimes I didn't understand what was happening and what was going on. Scheduling was a bit difficult due to the rainy weather all spring, but they did a very good job getting the pool done and completed considering the mud and all the rain. We have a free form pool with an inground spa. I love the design, the varying depths of the ledges, the waterfall, bubbler, spa - everything. We're looking forward to letting the dogs swim, enjoying the backyard and family time with family and friends.

I wanted a swimming pool for two years. I was initially engaged to another pool company, and in the course of conversation with the other guy, he brought up some other companies in the area and I noted them down. I called around these other companies and asked for quotes, and that's how I found Anthony & Sylvan Pools. I looked them up online and liked the website. My current pool is a pool-spa combo. It's free-form. I designed it the way I wanted it and it came out perfect. I like the quality of the equipment that was put in. It was very good. Summer's almost here so I'm really looking forward to using it, definitely going to enjoy it. Although there were hiccups along the way, they always handled everything really quickly for me and addressed all my concerns very thoroughly. My pool is rectangular and my favorite thing about it is that they have designed it according to what we wanted and everything is working fine. We always look forward to spend the evenings now in the backyard ever since we had the pool. To go outside and just sit and look at the beautiful pool is a big difference. I've also got big windows in the back of the house so I'm able to look at my pool in the back in the mornings when I open the shades.

We have a free form pool with a spa that had a wet-deck with a bubbler and an elevated water feature. The designer was very thorough. We appreciated not only his expertise but his creativity with the design. Right now, my favorite thing about the pool is the deck with bubbler. My two-year-old daughter absolutely loves it. I did a lot of comparative pricing and interviewed four different pool companies in the area. We have a historic home and wanted to create a New Orleans courtyard kind of feel and so it's a small rectangle to try into our small lot size. Both the project manager and our salesperson helped us design the pool and made improvements of what we thought we wanted and helped us out with the new system that we really like. Our project manager kept us informed and the things going on schedule. I like the water feature and the fact that it sits perfectly into our lot. I look forward into getting hot and jumping into it.

This is my second pool and I owned different pool the first time but I got discouraged about that because of all the maintenance. I wasn't satisfied with the first pool. Since I'm in Texas now and I'm no longer in the Middle East I definitely need a pool to keep myself cool and calorie-free. I saw Anthony and Sylvan's sign and the wide features they offer so I went online, submitted my name and they came out. Now we have a unique, chlorine pool with a spa. My favorite part of the pool is the coating and the type of the structure.
The gentleman I worked with came all the way from Austin and was so awesome. He came all the way down here just to make sure that I have the right type of pool that I wanted. They did my pool in a 2012 type series. I was not able to have them fill it up yet because I wasn't home. So the pool was stuck there for almost two and a half years and then he came back to put a granite. The main guy came out and gave me a school, and the guy get it off his job even though they stay there. When he came back to get the plaster, the deck was already done. They did what they call a stamping deck and it was great. The guys came back to clean it up and that's awesome.
They looked after me and that's what I like about it. The folks that I worked with including the saleslady that called me up back and forth did meet every deadline. When it's hot being, out there at the pool is refreshing. Every time people come out, they look at the pool and it's like a sunny point. People think I'm rich but I'm not. I just got a good pool builder that came in and did an awesome job. I recommend it to my other folks around there. If you want a pool, Anthony and Sylvan got to do it for you. They're excellent, very clean and meet their commitments.

I didn't have to call him and he always called me to let me know what was going on every step of the way, and there were no surprises. When my husband retired from the Air Force the end of 2013, we lived in North Carolina and we were actually looking for a community that had a pool. We found a house we loved that's on a neighborhood we loved but they did not have a community pool. So February last year our realtor said, "Your yard is big enough to build a pool." So that kind of put the idea in the back of my husband's head. After living in the house for a little bit, we started thinking about it and then last summer we really decided that we were gonna start looking this way. Our neighbor's brother highly recommended Anthony & Sylvan for the pool construction. We got ourselves a free form saltwater pool and it also has a spa.
They just finished it in December and it's only the beginning of May, so we heated it up when the grandkids came for spring break. I just love the look of it. I can't wait for it to get warmer so we can use it on a daily basis. It came out exactly the way we envisioned it would. ** was absolutely amazing with us when he was doing the plans. I was like, "Well, I don't care for this. Can we smooth out this edge a little bit? Can we?" And he got us everything I wanted. The project manager, **, was absolutely amazing. He went totally above and beyond what I feel his job description would be. If I had any questions, while the workmen were here, he would constantly drop in. I know with the million times he's selling on, but anytime I had any questions, he would be on top of it and whenever I suggest to look into anything he always did within a day or so. So ** and ** are topnotch on my radar.

We didn't know we wanted a pool until we had some problems with our yard and a drainage between our house and our guest house. When we had a landscaper coming out to look, he designed something and we decided at that time that we wanted to try to put in a pool. I found out about Anthony & Sylvan online and their design ended up what we went with. We got all the bells and whistles with it.
It's more than what we have planned. We told them what we kind of envisioned and we needed to engineer out some issues with the drainage in our yard, he designed the pool and patio around that and really beautifully incorporated what all we wanted to see. And with the final design we've got a two-level patio, all capped in at the edges in flex stone with the waterfalls over into the pool and it's got the LED lights and they were great. They told us the schedule and as far as weather permitted, they stuck with it. They got the pool done fairly quickly--a lot quicker than what we thought it would take and we enjoy seeing the kids have a blast. They go out there with their mom everyday.

Anthony & Sylvan Pools was recommended by a friend of ours, and there were several reasons why we chose them -- It was professionalism during the first interview, and the price to quality factor was very, very good. Our pool is rectangular, simple and very modern. It got travertine edging and has a tanning ledge, and a little bit deeper ledge for sitting down on one other side. It has a three-foot shallow end and a six-foot deep end.
My favorite thing about the pool is the way it makes our whole house look better. It completes the house. We have a social area in the back for kids and the dogs, and you don't have to stay in to have people over. We have three kids, and the pool is more for them and having them at home, instead of going off to other people's houses. Having them bring their friends into our house and be able to have a good time. We're most enjoying and looking forward to being able to have friends, family, and the kids' friends over because of this pool.
Our project manager gets along great with all of his work people who are mostly Mexican, and we are Mexican as well. So he was always available, always answered whatever messages or concerns that we had during calls or texts, got back to us very, very quickly, and understood our problems. If we had something that was a little bit out of his league, he would help us get it to the proper person in Anthony & Sylvan to get approval or get changed. So we're very, very happy with that communication we had. At the beginning, the design consultant was also very, very accommodating.

So we knew exactly who was coming out, what time they were coming out, and when we had a problem. We had phone numbers and who to call if we weren't satisfied or they would call us after. Permission was delayed a week then went permission and they were not ready to start. What? Delayed two weeks more? Then they started calling everyday too and delay the project. We gave one last option for this day April 22 and did not start. Always with an excuse. The last thing they did was to offer a bonus of $500 for the delay. But really it does not cover the whole problem that cause on us. We did remove our piscina and was given $ 2,500 down payment. And as of today we have piscina. We lost our old piscina and never told when they would return our money. It is a very bad company. It's not recommend to anyone, are lack of commitment and seriousness, have no responsibility.

We heard of Anthony & Sylvan pool because they had the storefront next to the Starbucks that we go to. My wife wanted a pool for 30 years and we just liked the salesperson and designer so I felt that it was for us to do.
The pool we got does not have a spa. It's freeform and it gives us the opportunity to go in, refresh, and relax to wash away the stress of the day. I think just getting in reinvigorates you a little bit. But we only got about a month in at best before it got too cold to get in it so we really haven’t had enough time to enjoy it yet. The project took longer than we expected it to take and there were a lot of rain delays, but I talked with them several times in terms of completion of the pool. That wasn't the strongest part of the pool, but the fact that we're complete and very happy with what we have. I would recommend them to a friend.

Anthony & Sylvan built our pool and this summer it’ll be 29 years old. This last time was the second or third time that we have it renovated over the years, and it was great. We had different kinds of tile and coping put on this time. It gave a whole new look to the pool, and we’ve had a lot of very complimentary comments about it. The guy who came out initially discussed everything, and was very professional. He’s been in this business for a long time, and knew what he was talking about. He was very helpful in having helped us make decisions as to what we really wanted.
We got it jackhammered, re-plastered, new tile, and new coping. Then of course pumping the pool out and getting water delivered. It was quite extensive, and was a time-consuming kind of a deal. I knew darn well that a lot of coordination goes in with this, because there’s so many different players. Good thing there was this girl who was very helpful as the process was going along. We’ve bad weather that messes up the schedule, but she put me at ease and took over. She said to relax, and made phone calls, then handled a lot of the stuff. I told my wife I can’t believe how easy this was to be done this time. It was just well worth it and we’re so happy. Highly recommended!

When I was a nanny in college, the family I nannied for had a pool by Anthony & Sylvan. So a year ago this month, when we decided we were going to build our own, I looked into it as well as four other companies and I met with each and every one of them. I was most impressed with Anthony & Sylvan. They really sold us on the whole thing they do at the bottom, the extra gravel, all of that, where a lot of the other companies were like "Oh, you don't really need that." And when we started to say Anthony does this, this, and this, they're like "Okay, we can do that." But, it wasn't their standard. Anyway, our pool is chlorine, in-ground, and free form. We went a little larger than the standard size, once we realized we could fit it - we love it. It's just a very strongly built pool.
This is what we liked with our pool: for one, the length; two, we went with a deep end in the middle, what's called athletic pool of only five feet because we wanted a usable pool. They worked with us on having a deep end in the middle and four feet on each end. What we really love, we just went with the basic, which is like if you're buying a loaded car, some cars are basic; they have a pretty good amount of things. Their basic pool without upgrade has high quality, from the coping to the plaster, standard chain with a bench depth on one end and another bench on the other end. That's all standard, and we just love the way the package came. We did upgrade a little more, worked it out with the subcontractor for extra concrete around the pool decking. The standard package really includes a lot.
It's beautiful. It's huge relaxation and it's also a huge social gathering. I'm into the daytime, hanging out, laying on a rest, swimming and volleyball; nighttime we have friends. We don't have children, so we do like to entertain. It will be used all summer day and night, and my job is slowest in the summer, so it's gonna be used heavily.
In the process, we always interacted with their people. There were never a schedule problem. They were right on schedule from the time they started. The first few delays that were not their fault, like when the gentleman who does the dig did not bring the copy of the building permit, so that held us back a couple of days. I dealt with ** regularly; he answers your calls immediately. I dealt with ** even beyond the sales part. If I called him not knowing you should be calling ** for that, he would still jump in and get to the bottom of what was going on with the project. ** came out and checked the progress. They are very communicative with when we'd expect certain steps done. We were never wondering what was gonna happen next or when.

I've wanted a pool for a couple of years. Someone in my neighborhood used Anthony & Sylvan Pools before, so we decided to give it a try. Ours does not have a spa; it's a rectangle with three scuppers along the back on a higher wall as a water feature. The thing I like about it is the color of the water because a certain bottom, like a pebble tech thing that goes on the bottom to make the water a really pretty Caribbean color.
The project manager and the scheduling team were awesome to work with. Most everything was done was scheduled or even before it was scheduled, so we were very pleased with the progress of it. It went fast. We really haven't gotten to use it because it was finished in September of last year, so maybe we got to use it once or twice. Just relaxing days in the pool, when the water warms up.

We got Anthony & Sylvan to build our second pool . We heard about Anthony & Sylvan's services through word of mouth from neighbors that actually used it. They were ranked fairly highly on Angie's List, and they have that good reputation so that's why we went for their services. The pool we had made has got three sheet falls and are built into it over a raised deck like a natural rock, a wall around one side and then its cool crate decking. It's fairly large, probably about 20 by 42, I think. The nicest thing about the pool is, you come home from work and there's no better way to kind of wash away the day's stresses by jumping in the pool and taking a quick swim.
The project manager for the building of the pool walked us through the entire process step by step. He was in contact with us several times a week, every week without fail - just checking in. A lot of times he actually came by himself and it was great that he actually took the time to come by even after-hours like 6, 7, 8:00 at night just to check on things and talk to us and made sure everything was going okay. So, yes, I cant say enough about the project manager, his professionalism and level of dedication as well as him just seeing the overall process until it was absolutely done. Anthony & Sylvan is clearly light-years away of the others in the same industry.

All the interactions with their representatives were very timely and responsive. They were patient, listening to all my questions, concerns, and very upfront and honest about the entire process. But most importantly, I think the biggest thing that came out is the tool that they used and the process they go through to make me feel comfortable. They exactly show me how the finished product is gonna look and made me comfortable about the decision.

We wanted a pool at our other house, but that wouldn't work with our current location. So when we built a new house, we decided to go ahead and put in a pool. So, it's a two-fold: new house, new pool. We knew another couple from our area that had used Anthony & Sylvan and they were happy. Our pool is not free-formed, and we wanted more of natural look. Then we did a sun shelf with it because we wanted a place where someone could sit, still be in the water but not have to be swimming and watch children. And we wanted a diving board and a couple of places where kids could rest as well.
I love how easy it was once it was up and going. I'm the one that took care of it all summer, and it was literally once a week and it was super simple. The company that Anthony & Sylvan recommended for us to the opening and closing of our pool made it seamless. We did the salt also and highly recommend that because not only do my kids love it, but I love it because it's better on their skin, swimsuits and towels. It makes everything just a lot easier.
Also, the project manager was great. He ended up staying on, to see us through the project, which was awesome because things that we had talked about got taken care of because he was on the project. Anytime you do any kind of project building-wise, there's always things that come up, go wrong, have to be changed or whatever. And he stepped us through all those things pretty well. I never had a pool before, and he helped give us recommendations of things that he's seen in life over the years and past experience that he had.
We already did recommend Anthony & Sylvan to a friend. And they're already starting the process of having someone come out to talk with them. They already had a positive experience just in their first meeting with the person too. Anthony & Sylvan are very professional and time-conscious. If I had any kind of complaint, it would be that it took a little longer than I thought it would. But it wasn't all on Anthony & Sylvan. Some of it had to do with our construction project going on at the same time.

My swimming pool was built in 1987 by Arrow Master Pools in Center Valley. So when I wanted to have it renovated, I contacted a few pool companies and Anthony & Sylvan followed up with me, so I signed up with them. They weren't high pressure as compared to others and their salesman was wonderful. He obviously was in the swimming pool industry for a long time, so I could tell he knew what he was talking about. He didn't try to sell me anything other than what I wanted and he was very good and thorough on what I wanted to have done. He was so impressive that I signed the contract that night.
Their scheduler got in touch with me most of the time to let me know what to expect. And the expectations that she set were always right on schedule. They did an excellent job in replastering the whole interior of the pool and in fixing a few tiles. The finish is great and the plaster feels very nice and soft on my feet. It wasn't slippery and hard, and it looks like a brand new pool now.

During the last couple of years, I decided I wanted a pool. I looked online and I saw that Anthony & Sylvan were local to us here in Vegas and saw some good reviews, so we went and talked to them. The pool we purchased is geometric, it's not just completely rectangular. It has some rounded corners and things like that, it has a spa and a waterfall, and makes use of chlorine water. It's nice to be able to have something to go out and cool off in. It's fun to get in the pool when it's real hot here in Vegas. When we have family in town, they enjoy it too.
I also like that it's pretty easy to maintain. Also, it was built to our specifications, which was the most important thing for us. We told them what type of pool we wanted and that's what we came up with. The project manager was great. He was very responsive to all my questions, and I had quite a few since I've never been through this process before. But he was very receptive and always answered my questions timely, and everything he told me basically was accurate. I recommend Anthony & Sylvan Pools!

Anthony & Sylvan is the oldest company that's been running with the same name in the pool industry and we got our pool done by them. We have a geometric pool that has straight walls, copper waterfall and bubblers. I like how it is unique, the material and how well built it's done. I'm not a pool builder expert but I studied it for a couple of months and I studied hydraulics and we came into agreement with Anthony & Sylvan that they're going to use the piping and the equipment that I desire. The project manager did not provide the good experience but his managers have been and they worked with me on resolving all the issues. Plus the salesperson was extremely helpful.

We had Anthony & Sylvan to do our 10 x 10 in-ground concrete hot tub 13 years ago. They were able to accommodate my design features and what I was looking for, and it was put in on time. They did a nice job. The project manager was super and I enjoyed working with him in getting it all organized. The scheduling team was also right on the money. They told me how long it would take, when they'd be there, what time they'd show up, and they did. And then recently, I just had the hot tub resurfaced. They have got all these new finishes and the new dark gray surface looks awesome. It came out beautiful. We use it all the time and my life revolves around it.

I had Anthony and Sylvan Pools build my dream pool and it was a disaster!! A year later the lazy river I paid for does not function. The grotto I paid for has a major leak and now the ceiling is caving in! I cannot get the same person twice because the entire leagues city department has had a change over! The 3rd party contractors that they send out are completely unsupervised! I have had 2 others in my neighborhood build a pool all around the same time all with similar horror stories. Without any response from the warranty department and multiple issues are still not addressed. I cannot get corporate to call me back because the number just reroutes you to the local manager.
I need help. It's been almost a year and my pool is still not functional! I would not want any homeowner to make the same mistake!! I was told by another pool builder the lazy river as designed will never work because they forgot the air jets. I built a lazy river pool and it will never work and now I am stuck with unanswered emails, phone calls and left feeling taken advantage of. The sales people will like cheat and steal to get you to sign a contract and then you never see them again! Buyer beware.

The initial phone call for the free quote was responded to immediately and an appointment with the Salesman was made; he showed up on time and completely ready to sell a pool. Salesman was completely charming! We clearly stated we wanted a start date of December 1, 2014. The pool was designed, we went to the showroom to pick out the decoration selections and pay the deposit. The week prior to Thanksgiving, the Salesman insisted they need to get the project started to have a completion date of December 29, 2014. We reluctantly agreed and 10 days prior to Thanksgiving (a National Holiday where the entire world except retailers shut down - BTW Anthony and Sylvan is NO retailer - they only open "by appointment only") after a rainstorm, a GIANT bulldozer showed up and shoved its way between my house and the next door neighbor's. To say the bulldozer did not fit is an understatement.
There was a subcontractor lady who insisted on continuing to shove this giant machine through the side of my house because the "plans told her to" and she was going to get in trouble if she did not follow instructions. The machine DID NOT fit, was sliding quickly towards my neighbor's house because of the muddy conditions, and was about to run over my gas meter. I put a stop to the operation and asked them to leave. I then called the Operations Manager (who I found out later from his staff that he chewed them out due to my phone call). I told him in order to not continue the damage to my front yard and the neighbor's, we needed to leave the bulldozer wedged until the ground dried.
Some 10 days later (Thanksgiving Holiday was in this time span), the bulldozer was removed. A giant hole was left in its place, but luckily the gas meter was not damaged! After this incident, the only person I had contact with was the "friendly" salesman. Well, he was off for the Holiday! He took 10 days off to go visit his family in Florida and did not leave his clients at the care of anyone so there was no one to address any concerns - "Off on Vacation!"
Then came the incorrect drawing on the ground of my pool. In the rush of the salesman to get the pool started prior to leaving on his 10 day vacation to Florida; the pool was completely crooked! It is a geometric pool, he squared off with the fence line and not the house. He insisted it was square to the house and it was straight. Insisted this! Over and over.
The Superintendent of A&S came by to discover the pool was indeed not straight and blamed the salesman for the rush and his incompetencies. (Here is the part where you need to catch on that everyone points the finger at everyone else! No one takes any responsibility for their actions!) The diggers then showed up. One lonely man in a tiny digging machine. The digging took a total of about five days - in fairness, they had to demolish a previous deck. During the process I was told they would be done in three days tops - not quite. But things were not going that bad during this time.
After the digging was done, the men with the rebar showed up. This crew had LOTS of men. Loud, messy, vulgar men (they spoke vulgarities in Spanish - they failed to realize, I am home all day and I am completely fluid in Spanish). They had the music loud, smoked, and left a mess every day after they left. The supervisors of any kind (the subs or A&S were no where to be seen during this time). They installed the rebar too high at the point closest to my house, they said the plan was incorrect, but they had to follow the plan because their boss was not answering the phone. I innocently thought this would get fixed - not quite. They said the A&S supervisor would come and check - man nowhere to be seen. Let's move on to the next phase!
The cement guys came next. Mess is an understatement. I am not sure what a "clean jobsite" means to anyone. Again, a large crew. Messy - McDonald's trash, empty water bottles, cement all over my yard and plants left behind. No supervisors of any kind ever came to see what was happening. Coping and tile crew were lots of fun. Nice group of men, very chatty. They parked a small flatbed with supplies in the front yard for a few days prior to construction. When they started, they had to cut the limestone coping. I told them they could not cut it on top of my grass in the front yard; they could have used the sidewalk. Well, they decided to set up shop on my neighbor's front lawn. I have no idea why they were not kicked out - they must be really tolerant people! This was now around Christmas time.
When I called the salesman to address my concerns (again not anyone else I was told to speak with) he was out on Holiday again! This time he was off for two weeks! Again, he left no one to handle his affairs while on vacation. The tile people ran out of tile. Their boss was on vacation. A&S boss was on vacation. These guys had no one to turn to. But at this time A&S was demanding a payment from us! I told them I would come by their store to drop off a payment and the store was closed - Off for the holidays! The entire week of Christmas! Even though I told them I would be coming by, they did not tell me they would not be there.
When we finally met the "Scheduler" around the 26th of December to hand him a very large check, he returned a paid invoice to us stating we had paid him 2K more! Nice Math skills! I wonder how much money this guy has lost the company! Around the end of the year, the tile was finally completed and the coping crew left. Several if not many days followed with no construction. It was the holidays, the weather was bad, people were off, they had other jobs, etc., etc. The deck people came out and again "followed the plan". Let's just say the plan had the deck higher than the pool. Everyone knew it, but we have to "follow the plan".
I ended up with a large deck that looked like a cupcake. Its highest point was the middle and it sharply inclined towards my house. I told them all the water was going to run towards my house and they said the reason for that was because I do not have gutters. The house is eight years old and has never had gutters. But how it had a deck cascading towards the house. I was told by over four men that there was nothing wrong with it. Perfectly normal and that they could not even see the incline towards the house. A ball running towards the house as proof was denied by all. Then after many frustrating calls to what seemed to be too many people, my HUSBAND made a call and they came to grind down the deck. I guess all these men cannot handle a woman telling them what to do!
More times than I care to recall I asked how long the project would take from start to finish. Five weeks is the standard line. It took SEVENTEEN weeks. The management of the company is less than professional. There was even one "Manager" who came to see the problems who told me it was a clean worksite while standing on a McDonald's bag. The Management was rude at times, does not return calls, points the finger at each other, the salesman told me at one point the subs were "a bunch of idiots". I was also told by the salesman I would get a $500 gift card to Leslie's at the completion of the job (I am well aware that was a lie).
At this point there is a small check list that needs to be completed. I have spoken to the Warranty Manager who has told me he'll look into it. I think he is still looking. That infamous survey has yet to be seen. I was told things were going to get done 7 days ago; I think you all can conclude I am still waiting. The people who work here lack integrity. They do not comprehend the client they service is a high end client with high end expectations. Let's face it, not everyone can cash out $60K for a luxury item. They do not take responsibility for their incompetencies and they do not try to make it right, the Regional man actually sounded annoyed with me more than one time.
The moral to the story - if you expect high end customer service, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! It does not matter that this is an established company if corporate is so far removed, they have no idea how their field managers and employees are truly treating the customers. Those of us who will NOT recommend them to anyone. I would be embarrassed to!

We stopped by at Anthony & Sylvan to see what they had to offer, and we liked what we heard. Then, they already had built several pools in our subdivision. What we got is the smallest they can make, the 10,000 gallon spool, or spa pool. The shape is unique that it goes with the rest of the house and the gazebo. It blends in well, and it also got a nice big sundeck. The project manager was very good. If we had any problems or questions, he was there to answer them. He was very timely. Now that we have our own pool, we no longer have to go to amenities center.

We just moved from Illinois a year ago to Las Vegas. When we moved here we knew that there's going to be some hot summers. We were not able to find a house at the time that we could afford that had a pool. We got a really reasonable price on the house so we had an extra to have our own pool. We had a big backyard we can work with so we wanted a pool right away. Then, we found out that we were qualified to loan for a pool. We instantly started looking online for the local pool people in Las Vegas and there are plenty of them. We checked comments on them on Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, among others. There were about three or four different pool people that we wanted to get bids or quotes. The first ones that called us back was Anthony & Sylvan, and so we went with them.
We already had in the backyard a small pond with a waterfall that had been put in before we bought the house. When we looked into getting a pool, we really wanted to keep the waterfall or at least modify it to where it could be incorporated into the pool. The designer came up with a beautiful free form. They had to trim down some of the waterfall but there were a lot of very large boulders and a lot of the decorative lock in the backyard that we also wanted to save because those are expensive landscape materials. And they came up with a design that is 29 feet by about 6 feet wide. We were very happy with the fact that they listened to us as far as what we wanted to keep. They actually re-grounded and cleaned it up real nice and it looks beautiful.
The project manager was great and efficient. He stayed in continuous communication and let us know every single step. There were a number of other guys involved in building the pool too. We love to swim and being in the water is so healthy too. We've already recommended them.

We did a lot of research for the pool companies in our county and talked to our neighbors who utilize various pool companies. We decided that Anthony & Sylvan had the best reputation for quality and service in our area and we were impressed with the work on some of our neighbors' homes that had used their pools. We had ours in a lagoon-shaped pool so it's got kind of three loaves to it - two shallow end and then one eight-foot deep end. We did the upgraded granite with the pebble finish. There's a couple of seating areas on it which I think are standard for their pools. We have the diving board and we also had a slide added to it as a water feature.
The interactions we've had with the entire team has been very positive. They were very reactive to our calls and proactive when it came to meeting our needs. We had a very good experience overall. He made sure that he extended the benches within the pool because of my medical condition (I customized it. It can only be from 2 feet to 5 feet type of thing.) ** would always be my go-to guy. He would contact my project manager if I was having an issue. I felt so comfortable with him that he would come out to the house when I had a problem or concern.
Everything went very smoothly. My project manager would leave messages in the bag where all the inspections would go into so I would know that he was here and then all the other people that came out for whether it was the gunite or for the concrete, they personally will contact me and I would speak to them on the phone and we would set it up to make sure that I was home or at least I knew they were coming, they were on their way or when they were scheduled to come.
April 26th the day I'm opening it, just that my family, my children can enjoy it, I will be out there swimming and I am going to use it pretty much every single day because I’m the one who takes care of it and I’m the one that deals with every issue that happens to it. We had a great salesman but a horrible construction manager at the beginning. We were in a limbo a lot and the salesman couldn’t help us. He never showed up and the communication is horrendous. We would have something scheduled and nobody would show and at 5 o'clock I'd get a phone call from their office in Houston saying 'We're calling to tell you that they're not going to show up today. We need to reschedule.' 'Well, okay it's 5 o'clock. You don't think I figured that out by now. You're not going to show up and just excuses.' 'Well, it rained.' 'Where did it rain because it didn't rain here? I don't understand.' Just the lack of communication was probably the biggest culprit that Anthony & Sylvan has. My wife thought that they had done a really good job in putting that together. She said that they seemed to be doing a good job and in a very quick manner. So that's why we went with them. I went down, got a bid from them and it was very reasonable.
I got a gunite pool, a full new install. It was a brand new house. They gave me a remote control to the pool that I can turn the lights on, turn the water features on, turn the cleaner on, and turn the pool pump on from inside the house. It is unbelievable. It's not just cool, it's almost like I can't believe that everybody didn't have this. It's just so much more functional. Like if the weather gets cold, which it does occasionally, you don't have to run out in the cold and turn the pumps on and off to keep the thing from freezing. Got a freeze prevention mode in that which you can program. When the temperature gets down, it automatically kicks on. It's just a totally automated pool... very energy-efficient and it pumps harder when I want to run the water feature, but it pumps slower when they're not on and I'm just running the pool for cleaning and that type of thing. It's a very well-run pool and uses a minimal amount of chlorine. And as far as the maintenance goes, the maintenance on the pools had been very reasonable. I haven't had that much problems with it.
Anthony & Sylvan did a really good job on my pool. The supervisor that came out, the guy that I met the first time, was very professional. He was trained and had a degree in construction which is very unusual for a pool builder. So he knew all the questions I had about the steel and the gunite, etc. He could answer directly without having to check. He knew exactly what I was talking about and exactly what my concerns were, so he addressed all those right away. And then the gentleman that came out to set the pool up the last time got the thing up and running, put all the jets in, etc, and got it programmed up in just a matter of hours, and started up.
I'm very pleased with the outcome. It came out really well. The gentleman that sold it to me did a really good job in designing it. Everything went exactly according to plan. They do a good job when they're given the task to do it and it's a straightforward job. They started when they said they were gonna start and they did the design they said they were gonna do, and they showed up and took care of any problems that I had. We had some hiccups, you know what you get with the construction people, based on rain and some weather... they were delayed. It wasn't severe and I actually had the pool poured two weeks after they dug the hole so it was very quick.

This is the second work stoppage this company has done because of their failure to comply with the agreed addendum to the contract concerning the concrete. Poor supervision overall during the construction process. Breach of contract concerning selection of tile (which ended up being substandard to the cost we have paid thus far). I will not recommend this pool company to anyone in my neighborhood and have discouraged two families and potential pool buyers in contacting Anthony Sylvan. I have never seen a company that has such a terrible response time in regards to getting back to their customers. What should be a very joyous time with our new investment has turned out to be a big disappointment.
Pool construction started at the end of September and still isn't completed. The first work stoppage occurred back in October 2014 and lasted for two weeks and some longer, and presently another work stoppage. This is one of many issues we have been faced with in dealing with the Texas Office of Anthony Sylvan and will post each issue separate as we proceed through the process of finishing the pool. Lastly, all independent subcontractors were professional and timely with their services. The main problem is with the AS consultant and the operations manager.

The pipes (3) broke and flooded the block. I had to pay this too. They cut hole in decking to fix pipes, ugly. Pipes still leaking... No one, even warranty dept. will help me. I had city dig it all up, hired a contractor, plumber... They all report is a pool problem. So Anthony Sylvan sent dump truck full of dirt and covered it all up without even looking… I paid hundreds for plumber and Anthony Sylvan covered up problem... Anthony Sylvan could care less about us, the customer. They care about your $$ and nothing else.

I described it to the guy when he came out, and he came out with the design as my mind’s eyes pictured it. He explained to us what would happen, what the cost would be, and everything was exactly what they said it would be. There wasn’t anything negative about it. When they said they would call, they would call. I’d recommend them. The experience was easy and breezy.

We found Anthony & Sylvan on the Internet with several others but when we talked to them in person, we felt that they were the best one. They were willing to work with us and Nye County, because of the soil, has a lot of restrictions, and they had built a lot of pools in the area. They did everything, from the digging all the way through educating us with the start up and everything else. But they had to use a special concrete mixture because of the type of soil that we have and we were really close to the mountainside. Customer accommodation. Don't look for any support down the road with this organization. They would rather hand you off to a worthless contractor who never returns calls than help you solve a problem. Had stairs repaired several times around pool. This should have clued me in, now 10-15 feet of the decking is moving away from the pool and sinking. They never compacted the soil properly. Not their problem I'm told. Even though I get frequent compliments on how nice the pool looks, I would not recommend them again considering they don't seem interested in taking care of past customers. We had an in-ground plaster pool installed by Anthony & Sylvan. I like the design and the blue surface. I felt that there was a lack of communication with the project manager. I had gotten 2 names with 2 different fellows that were project managers and every time I would try to work with one they would say "No you need to talk to the other one." The actual installation was fine. There wasn't a problem with that. I wasn't extremely crazy about the electrician. Rather than make it the best looking and easiest for us, he kind of wanted to make it easier for him. Original Review: Oct. 21, 2014
My experience with Anthony & Sylvan was so bad that they never started construction on the pool. They couldn't even get the permit approved. At the end, our township office refused to speak with them any further. I had to go down there to try and clean up the mess. If you call Sylvan and a salesman named Bob ** knocks on your door, close the door and call somebody else. A complete failure, lack of attention to detail on the project. Will yes you to death to get you off the phone. "Hey Bob, on the survey your guy did the pool isn't really in the right place. Will that be a problem"? "No, not a problem at all." Guess what? It was a problem. All the delays from their failure to properly manage the permit process? They'll take no responsibility. They blamed me. The grading surveys that were submitted were consistently wrong because of improper details provided by the pool company to the surveyor. In the end when I cancelled the project, they returned just 2/3 of my deposit. I was also out another $1200 that I spent on the survey, which they repeatedly sabotaged by providing bad information. In the end it cost me $2400 to have absolutely nothing done. I'm just glad I got away from them before letting them start construction.

Anthony & Sylvan contacted me and we’ve found a reasonable solution to my issue.
Original Review: Oct. 13, 2014
In 2007 Anthony & Sylvan renovated my then eight-year-old pool as part of a major patio upgrade. A&S re-plastered the pool with an exposed aggregate finish and installed new tile and coping. By May of 2014 the plaster separated from the pool in several spots revealing that it was applied at a thickness of about 1/8 inch in those areas. When consulted, A&S noted their warranty is only for three years, recommend that the pool be re-plastered, and provided an estimate. It's worth noting that we've been diligent to maintain proper pool chemistry and we expected an aggregate finish to have lasted 10-15 years.
Some of the coping is coming loose and, when asked recently, A&S state that this is likely caused by the absence of an expansion joint and caulk between the coping and the brick patio. A&S stated it was incumbent upon the landscaper -- not the pool renovator -- to have added an expansion joint and caulk to prevent the coping from loosening. I don’t know if this is a reasonable expectation since one doesn’t expect a landscaper to understand pool engineering and construction.

After speaking with Owen, we have come to an agreement to mark the experience as 3 stars overall (ONLY due to Owen). The majority of the repairs were completed as agreed upon, however the quality of the craftsmanship is the issue now. The leaks appear to be fixed, I was refunded the amount for the table, the courtyard gate was rebuilt as well as the drive gate (these are the craftsmanship issues). Overall it has been a very unpleasant experience but a neutral review is the best I can offer.

After interviewing numerous companies to build our pool, we wound up going with Anthony & Sylvan based on 2 factors: 1 - A friend of mine had a pool built by them and he seemed satisfied. 2 - Name brand along with longevity in the industry (HUGE mistake). Let me preface this review by stating this MAY be an isolated incident to the Houston location, but not an isolated incident FOR the Houston location. I have had the subs (hired by A&S) tell me horror stories just like mine. I try to call the GM, the Operation Director, the Project Manager, etc... no one returns calls & they genuinely don't seem to care that we are not satisfied with a service that we are paying for. Heck, I had the scheduler lady in the office tell me that my ideas and design of one aspect of my pool were stupid.
The only portions that went smoothly were the sales pitch, collection of my money (almost 50K), and the initial excavation. We have had problems with almost every single sub-contractor that has worked on this pool (again, the exception being excavation). First plumbing, have had numerous leaks throughout the process and now that the pool is full of water we have one of the skimmers that does not function at all. Second, gunite crew sprayed the pool ok, with the exception of not following the plans for a table that is in the pool. The table was torn out once for a second attempt and everything looked good until the pool was full of water, it is about 2" higher than the pool deck, one side is about 2" higher than the other, and the shape is still not right (more on that in a minute with the tile & coping).
Third, tile & coping. Once again, plans were not followed in numerous areas. The coping around my pool (flagstone) is a bunch of straight angles, with some random "humps" thrown in for good measure (nothing like my friends pool that A&S did). The waterfall has been a nightmare & has had to be redone 3 times so far, still have issues but no return calls from the project manager or anyone again. I have a tanning ledge that I wanted boulders placed around the edge to keep my dog from being walk off the ledge (this is the part the lady called stupid). On the plans it stated clearly that the owner (ME) was to approve final location before setting rocks but they put them where they wanted to & they were stuck, this had to be redone as well and led to one of our MANY delays.
The first attempt at tiling the table in the pool resulted in a football shape as opposed to oval, the second resulted in a drunk looking egg, the third was an egg in the opposite direction, the pool is full of water now & they can't do anything about it. Plaster is horrible, wavy, numerous chunks out of it, rough "**" sticking up all over the pool, shoddy workmanship. Start up crew was horrible, didn't follow through, no showed 3 times. Clean up crew was beyond horrible, no showed 5 times & still need to come back to clean up and do the grading properly. Forgot to mention the pools elevation... For some reason, the guys that laid the pool out decided to raise the elevation about 8" higher than the back of my house. This had other consequences when it came to the deck around the pool, we wound up with a huge step going up to the pool deck. My pool is about 30 feet from my house in my backyard (we have about an acre for the backyard) and there is a sidewalk from my patio that now has a 5" step before you are able to get on the pool deck.
I can go on & on, but the bottom line is, do your research long & hard before hiring the Houston Anthony & Sylvan to build your pool. It would be nice to hear something back from Anthony & Sylvan regarding the treatment I have received but haven't heard anything yet. IF there are resolutions, I will update. Pictures will be added at a later date.

Not only has our project been ongoing for more than 12 weeks, but we are not even close to having the final work completed. Anthony and Sylvan hires subcontractors to do each phase of their pools. A worker for the plaster company that does their plaster on concrete pools ruined my plaster by accidentally making a hole in my plaster when they were attempting to repair a blemish. After a year of discussions with Anthony and Sylvan's "upper management" they finally agreed to replaster my pool. They hired the same incompetent subcontractor to replaster and they completely ruined my brand new pool. There are numerous bumps and discolorations throughout my pool and the entire plaster is wavy and bumpy, nothing like it was when it was new. It almost looks like they tried to screw it up. I have many friends that have pools and they all can't believe the poor craftsmanship shown by this company.
Anthony and Sylvan never came out to see the quality of the replaster job and they also have never returned any phone calls following the replaster. They were quick to take my $40,000, but once they get your money forget about getting any kind of customer support or quality warranty work. Now for the best part....they told me I was responsible for paying the $1000 required to refill the pool after it was replastered. Not until they found out I hired a lawyer did they "agree" to refill my pool when their worker was the one that ruined it in the first place. Do your homework when you are picking a pool builder. If you'd like to see pictures of this incompetence just let me know, I'd be happy to send them to you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this, Mark. We're so happy to hear that you had such a great experience during all phases of your pool design and installation and that we were able to meet your time requirements. Enjoy your pool and let us know if you ever have any questions.

We purchased a concrete chlorine pool from Anthony & Sylvan as they were recommended by my pool designer, Daniel. Their attention to detail was incredible. We were able to adjust a few things, aesthetically as well as operationally, and all of our needs were met. The project manager, Sky, was above anybody I've ever worked with. He's incredible. I'm a real estate agent here in Vegas and I do a lot of new homes built, so I've worked with quite a few general contractors over the past six years, including our own house, when I built this from the ground up, and I haven't had any project manager as detail-oriented as he was and chronologically just went exactly to the day and sometimes to the hour that he said it was going to be. It's a beautiful design, beautiful product and great company to work with. I'm extremely happy that I chose them and went with them because they have otherwise had a reputation of being a little bit more higher priced than some other pool builders here; however, I believe in this specific situation, paying a little bit more was well worth it and it shows greatly in every step of the way.
Craig, thank you so much for sharing. We really appreciate you taking the time and it means a lot to us to hear that you're so satisfied with the finished product and you enjoyed working with us to build your backyard oasis. Enjoy your pool!

Anytime I called and had a question, Anthony & Sylvan reps were very prompt at responding. We emailed to communicate a lot, which was great because I'm not always available by phone. It was just very positive. Because of no rain, our pool was done in 19 or 20 days which is unbelievable. Every day there was someone here to supervise. They did a wonderful job. The whole family is enjoying it.
Thanks for sharing, Joy. We're really happy to hear that our team was so prompt in responding to your questions and that you had such a positive experience. We're happy to hear that your family is enjoying the pool and please let us know if you have any questions.

Anthony & Sylvan installed a new in-ground pool. We had a communication problem with one of the representatives, but other than that everyone was great. They were professional, efficient, and timely. We like the water feature.

I heard about Anthony & Sylvan from a friend of ours who works with them. They put a new pool in my backyard. Nothing fancy about it, it’s just a nice place to get wet. Everything we’ve done with them, we’ve had great experience with everybody we dealt with. They were very knowledgeable, on time, and everything looks perfect. It was a great experience. I have nothing but good things to say.
Thank you so much, Tina. We're thrilled to hear that we came recommended and that you have had such a positive experience with your swimming pool. Enjoy your pool and let us know if you ever have any questions.

We are satisfied with Anthony & Sylvan. They've done a beautiful job on our in-ground swimming pool. I just like the size, and the one that we had gotten is a good-size pool, which is nice. All of them were really professional and answered any question I had in terms I could understand and even brought up some that I didn't even think about. They're really good. It was just wonderful. I was very happy and satisfied with them.
Thank you very much, Rose. We're thrilled to hear that you're so happy with your new pool and that you found our staff to be so professional and thorough answering your questions. Enjoy your pool!

Anthony & Sylvan did a pool for us underground. Before we did our pool, I shopped around to see what they were offering and what I loved about Anthony & Sylvan is that one, they've been around for a long time and two, their workmanship. From the very get-go, Philip, our salesman, he came in and explained everything. We went into the office, my husband, my daughter, my son, and we got to pick and choose the layout of the pool, so it was a family project as we wanted the whole family involved. I have recommended them to people. The only fallback we have on it is that when the pool is ready and it has been cured for ten days, it's torture.

Anthony & Sylvan came out several times because my husband and I were trying to decide exactly what I wanted. In the end we had them install a new concrete pool that used chlorine. One of the things that I love is that I never felt like I was being pushed into anything. They were really great about explaining it, and if there was a misunderstanding, they figure out exactly where we miscommunicated so that we can make this right and move forward. So I never felt like anybody was ever trying to run out for me or railroad me. Also, Jeff, the gentleman that built our pool, and the manager of it, did a great job. They finished ahead of schedule. The entire experience was exceptional.
Thank you, Nancy. We're happy to hear that our team was so patient with you as we worked together to design your dream backyard oasis and that the entire experience was so exceptional. Enjoy your pool and let us know if you ever have any questions!

They put in a concrete pool for me. It's a chlorinated pool. We have a grotto and a couple of nice sitting ledges and a nice tanning ledge with it. Our initial salesman, Tim **, was amazing and I would recommend him to anybody. He really took the extra time and did a great job. He informed us with everything they were doing. Overall my experience with Anthony & Sylvan was great, except for the lack of attention from a guy named Marty ** who works for the company who was our liaison during the middle stages and dropped the ball on scheduling things.
Thanks so much for sharing, Kevin. We're thrilled to hear that you had such an amazing experience with your design consultant, Tim, and that you're enjoying the grotto and tanning ledge. We're here if you have any questions.
