We are proud owners of Sylvan pool. It is 37000 gallons pool and was plaster. At year 14 we decided to refresh the pool with sylvan again. This pool was meticulously maintained by sylvan West Chester office. We had the fortune of working with Mike ** to decide on the components of the new lining and decide on a sylvan proprietary plaster quartz pebble mix in light blue color.

Mike was responsive and accommodating and gave us a fair price for this refresh mastic repair including a three year warranty. The coping work pool plaster work and mastic took a total of four days. We are in our pool already. The teams were expert and technically solid. I was very happy with our project manager Tyler Mayer who stayed with us every step of the way. He was 24/7 which was incorrect because the pool water targets are different. Thank you Tyler and Mike. They coordinated with Weather Chester Sylvan, thank you Tara W. Looking forward to a great next 15 years

We had a major pool renovation done last year, and this year it was completed. Our project manager, Tyler **, I’ve been a great help to me. The pool was filled and Tyler came over and started the water treatment and started up the pool filter. I am new to this and had many of questions, and Tyler took the time to explain to me how some of the functions work with the pool filter. I am glad we have him for our project manager, he has been a big help.

He is so knowledgeable with the renovation process and very detailed in explaining the staging process. He goes above and beyond in rectifying a solution when there was a problem. For the most part we are very happy with our pool. We fell in love with the design from a pool design website and had various pool companies bid on building it. They all seemed a bit high to us so we searched the Internet and found that Anthony & Sylvan built the pool, so we went to them for a bid. Our previous bids also included a pavilion, fence and detached garage and we told them we wanted an all-in-one contractor, and their salesperson told us this was not a problem. She even did 3D designs on her computer to show us how it would "all" look. After some design changes and picking the materials we wanted, she told us she had a contract ready for us to sign and that she would come to our home to complete that. This is where everything started to go downhill.

Once we read the contract, we did not see the fence, pavilion or garage in it. She told us this was no problem because they had a contractor, they vetted that would handle that separately. We told her that we expected an all-in-one contract and that Anthony&Sylvan would oversee the entire build. She convinced us that there would be no problem using their contractor. We requested a meeting with the owner of MCR Marin Construction, Rockwall, TX and she set it up. Long story short, there was no co-ordination between A&S and Marin during the pool build. A lot of the irrigation piping was cut during the dig, this was supposed to take care of by MRC Marin and it was not done. The gas, water, drain and electrical for the pavilion was not completed before the trenches A&S dug, which Marin could have used were filled and covered with travertine pavers or filled and graded smooth.

The fence was 90% built with no gates. The garage foundation, framing and the roof was built but the roofing was the last thing they did after receiving a $30,000 draw to continue. We never saw them again, found out Marin did this to at least a dozen other people. We hired an attorney who advised us it would be difficult to sue A&S or to recover any money from MRC Marin Construction. So, we had to find another contractor to finish the project. After two years, we are just now finishing the fence and the garage. No pavilion and had to hire someone to fix the irrigation system.

I am not happy with the pool equipment being on the south side of our house where the sun is the hottest. I wanted it on the north side but they said it was better on the south. Better for them but now a problem for us with freezing weather from the south and the sun in the summer. Two rain downspouts that were supposed to be tied to a drain system they ran along the back side of the house was not done and they said it was not in the contract even though we walked the project down before they started and this was agreed on verbally. It seems a verbal commitment means nothing these days. What shame that we have to be so meticulous and ensure every little detail is noted and in writing. We love the pool, but with a grain of salt.

STAY AWAY from Anthony & Sylvan at all costs. This company caused approximately $20,000–$25,000 in damage to my inground gunite pool. To make matters worse, a customer service representative from Anthony & Sylvan Pools contacted me and offered $1,600 in exchange for either removing my review or posting a positive one. I am extremely frustrated by this company’s ignorance and complete disrespect for customers and their hard-earned money. I cannot understand how Anthony & Sylvan believes that $1,600 is an acceptable resolution for damages totaling $20,000–$25,000. Again, I want to warn everyone: STAY AWAY and do not use this company for pool repairs or new pool construction. Their marketing may look impressive, but the quality of their work is extremely poor. They hire unqualified individuals, fail to manage projects properly, and refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes. Stay away!!

Anthony & Sylvan is installing a pool for our neighbor and I have been the one dealing with the mess! These guys are complete slobs....subcontractors are not managed and do whatever they need to do to get paid that day. Absolutely no common sense when it comes courtesy for others. They then get defensive about their own mess. You guys are killing it out there with a reputation you can see!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND – STAY AWAY. We are now going on 8 months with this company, and our pool is still not complete. This has easily been the worst experience we’ve ever had with any contractor. Once they take your money, communication essentially stops. Our salesperson became completely unreachable, and getting any response was nearly impossible. The project manager was rarely on-site and did not properly manage the contractors at all.

Major issues throughout the project include:
      • Wrong tiles installed twice, requiring them to be ripped out and redone
      • Poor communication about decking, causing multiple return visits
      • Contractors frequently not showing up, despite being “scheduled”

      • Repeated delays with no valid explanation (not weather-related)

We have been extremely patient, but we constantly had to follow up and push the project manager just to get basic progress. Even then, concerns were brushed off or ignored. We often had to repeat the same issues over and over before anything was addressed. When we escalated concerns to the salesperson, scheduler, project manager, and even the area manager, we were given the same runaround: “It’s scheduled.” We would take time off work to be present -- only for no one to show up.

At one point, we even requested in-person meetings to resolve ongoing issues, but weeks would go by with nothing scheduled. Only after repeated reminders would anything happen. We’ve built a pool before, and it took less than 3 months. This experience has been the complete opposite. With summer approaching, it’s incredibly frustrating to say that we likely won’t have a completed pool in time. We’ve even had to postpone our vacation just to try and keep this project moving. We have no confidence that this company will complete the job correctly or stand behind their work. If you’re considering them, pay more and go with someone else -- it will save you time, stress, and disappointment. We are currently consulting with an attorney and exploring our options.

I chose Anthony & Sylvan Pools based on their reputation as an established pool company. I needed some pool repairs and resurfacing of the spa. Overall, I had a very negative experience. They started the project when they said they were going to start. I had to pay everything upfront. After the first few days which involved emptying the pool, they left the pool empty and did not return for a month. One excuse after another. The plumber had to come first to pressure treat the pool to determine if there were any leaks. The plumber did not show time after time. There were no leaks.

By the time anyone showed up a month later, the pool was filthy, even though it had been acid washed. I agreed to pay additional money to have it washed again just so they could proceed with the work. They installed two new skimmer baskets, which sat unfinished in two stone filled pits, dangerously open for anyone to fall and get hurt. Calls left unanswered, no shows, and lots and lots of emails sent by me. Please do not use them unless you want real aggravation.

We installed our pool in 2022, and loved the results. It has brought us a lot of simple, enjoyable family time, and we truly appreciate having it. We decided to go with Anthony and Sylvan for the warranty service, especially after hearing some of the scary pool repair stories out there. We're glad we did. We encountered a leak during a severe drought, and reached out to the warranty support team. The response from John Myer and his Austin based team was swift. Our particular problem was difficult to locate, but John and his team were responsive, supportive, and ultimately able to pinpoint and resolve the issue. Overall, we are extremely happy with both the pool and the service we have received. Highly recommend.
