It was frustrating because I've had to call AFC several times to allow our Property Mngr permission to make decisions on the account on our behalf but somehow the notes are not being saved (or service reps are not checking them) and AFC is denying our Prop Mngr from taking care of business. Also, we were sorely disappointed in the coverage provided on the repair for our A/C unit. Kinda subpar and did not cover the full repair.

I bought a home and AFC Home Club was a referral. I went with them and the contractors were great. Their work is okay so far but submitting a claim was painful. I didn't renew the policy.

The technician did a great job. He was very efficient. He knew exactly what was wrong and did what he had to do. He didn't charge anything extra. Some places tend to do that. We were very pleased. As a matter of fact, if we need anything, we'll call him again. AFC's service was good. I had no problems. I talked to a couple of people with the reimbursement and with the problem itself. The reimbursement was a lot quicker than they said it would take. Everybody was very friendly and helpful.

My husband told me about AFC. When we had an issue with our heat pump, I called and told AFC I had a problem. And then, they called me back and said that they called the company and the maker of the AC unit, and they said that the parts were still under warranty. Therefore, AFC would not cover anything. The warranty covered a $30 part but AFC wouldn't even cover the service call to install it. That was disappointing. I called and asked for a manager because that was pretty crappy. I still needed someone to come fix it. The rep said, "I'll give you $100 credit." I appreciated that gesture, but it soured me on everything. Now, what's going to happen next time I had a problem? Our oven was also having issues. Instead of going through the warranty and having someone come fix it, we would just choose to purchase a new one. So far, I'm not super happy.

One of the hose spigots cracked. It was the hose bibb out of the back of the house. I called AFC and everything went pretty smooth.

Easy resolution in working with contractors and AFC. Easy to use. Reasonable price for service. Would definitely recommend to others. You can use your own service people and send to AFC. We had left American Home Shield because it took forever to get to speak to someone. AFC is much more available.

A friend told me about AFC. My claim for the dishwasher went pretty good. I was happy with AFC, but I wasn’t happy with the person who they sent out. Their response was slow. I wasn’t 100% with the way they went by the service, but eventually, once I got serviced, it was okay. The tech did a good job.

Last contact was sale discussion with your rep 2 weeks ago. No phone calls or info has been received so obviously this exercise is futile. I know you received monies as close was 3-4 days ago. I was not informed of what the process would be moving forward-just told by sales agent that you would contact me.

Out of the top five highly rated home warranty companies that I requested quotes from and talked to personally, Dave ** and Patrick ** were the most personable, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to negotiate the best deal for my hard earned money. In fact; I was so impressed, that I bought a home warranty for my rental as well.

Our experience with AFC Home Club was good. It's just the policies changed. There were limits on the amount when it comes to various things. But submitting a claim has been very easy online. There were a couple of contractors that were not as talented though. Initially, there weren't as many people in the area that would service but then we had some better contractors towards the end. We had a situation where they installed an InSinkErator, and the contractor didn't put it in correctly and it leaked under the sink. We called and said, "We're having some problems with this." He came back. It was two months later and he fixed it. But there was so much damage to the wood under the sink and they didn't fix it. He didn't replace it.

I was initially attracted to AFC by the simple website organization, customer ratings, competitiveness and ease of instant quote with no gimmicks. I ultimately made the decision to signed up based on talking with my account manager and support team. The AFC team was well spoken and knowledgable of the different options.

America's 1st Choice sent a person out for a claim. He checked the issue out and I paid him the $70 fee. From then on, he kept saying one thing and then AFC was saying something else. So finally, AFC got another person to come out here and then it took a while because he had to order the whole part of something. Then the person that came out to fix it said that he just happened to come out here and they didn't assign him to do the job. But I think he just didn't come out for a while. So wasn't really 1st Choice's fault as far as I could tell. The claim went good except it took a long time to get it accomplished and it took several calls on my behalf. But everything is working fine now. I've been with AFC for about five years. They had promised me that the price I paid for the first few years would be the same price for the next few years. And that seemed to be true.

America's 1st Choice Home Club was the first place that I called. I mentioned it to some people at work who already had purchased such a warranty and they told me how good of a program it was. I've found it fairly easy for the claims that fall under the umbrella of what is able to be fixed. But when I was originally on the phone and going through the sales presentation, I wasn't fully aware of the minor ins and outs of what they cover and don't. I have had some things that I've called to get fixed and were just flat out not covered. That would be my biggest issue. However, the contractors had all been good. Actually, two of their contractors were the ones I had selected myself because of COVID-19 so it hasn't been bad. Everything that people have come out to fix has gotten fixed.
I would recommend to anyone who looked into the AFC to make sure that they knew what kind of stuff is covered. People should make sure that they get their AC and furnace serviced once a year in order to have AFC cover it. That was something I wasn't aware of when I first started. So, that's an extra bill that I have to pay every year, which is good that I get that done but something I wasn't aware of before.

Paid extra for ice maker. It spit out ice randomly. I slipped and fell and lost my leg. I was not told that the valves were not covered even though they are in the fridge. $350 worth. The repair guy was great, but it took two weeks to get ok. I am unhappy after paying $1300 and never using this..

Ejector sump pump. I rated the experience as good because we had to wait 6 days before obtaining a technician. I would like to see you provide emergency service for those situations that warrant a more timely visit, as me and husband had to continual drain the pump to avoid flooding. The technician suggested a new pump because the old pump was already 5 years old and it did turn off on its own, but per AFC guidelines we will go with fix. The technician was able to restart it, but now I fear that this could happen again and flood the basement.

After reviewing five home warranty Companies I chose America’s 1st Choice. The Platinum plan was better priced with me in control. Also, phone rep. Preston, answered all my questions and he was very helpful. It was like speaking to my son, who I respect and trust. Thank You Preston.

The refrigerator went out and I called AFC. They sent out a repairman and he said a part was needed. He called Sears, the only person that carried the part, but they said it's no longer on the shelf and they didn't see any time they're restocking it any time soon. The part was delayed and delayed and we would call back and forth to try and get some resolution because we were without a refrigerator for months. I talked to the guy that they called out and said they never had anything like this before from any other company. The lady that handled it at the end was awesome but overall, the experience was not handled properly, not for the money I paid three years in advance to have a home warranty.
To buy that type of insurance and be left without a major appliance for so many months, I was very unhappy with the service. I hope and pray nothing breaks down in the next few years. And I'd probably pay for it myself just to not have to deal with this company. I would never suggest them to anybody and I regret that I paid three years in advance.

We just recently bought our new house. I was doing some research online and just seeing that AFC was on there and we saw the reviews and stuff, and decided to go with them. However, it was later that we found out that it was not what it was all cracked up to be. We signed up for it online. It doesn't tell you that you have a waiting period before you could file a claim. So, if you file a claim within the first 30 days, they would only give you $150 back towards whatever repairs it was.
We bought our house and we didn't know the AC unit wasn't working properly, and there was something wrong with it internally. When I called AFC and told them that we needed somebody to repair it, they said, "Well, with COVID going on right now, we can't get anybody out there. You could hire your own contractor to do it, and then we could refund you." And I said, "Okay. No big deal." So, we called around to a couple different contractors in the area and hired our own. I don't know why AFC couldn't find anybody. But when the contractor came out, I told them what had happened with AFC. He informed me that they have a hard time getting their money from them. And I said, "Okay. Well, they're gonna refund me supposedly, and so I'm gonna see what I can do. We'll just go ahead and pay you outright with our own money." And he said, "Okay." So, he fixed the issue.
I got ahold of AFC and they told me, "Well, there's a grace period. So, the $450 that you paid to fix your AC, we're only gonna refund you $150." I asked why. I paid for the home warranty. They informed me that it was because there's a grace period, and if something breaks within the first 30 days, I have to pay a certain amount. But they never refunded the whole amount, so I left it at that. I told my husband that maybe we should just cancel with them. Pretty soon, the manager called me and said, “Well, I could just give you the $150. At least that way, you're getting something back for paying for the home warranty.” So, she did an email check through some other program, then we went and cashed the check. Everything was good like that.
The technician was good. He was really nice. He came out and looked at the AC. And of course, COVID’s going on, so he had a mask. And any time he came in the house, he was really cautious in maintaining distance. And I said, “I'm sorry. I'm more of a handshake kinda person.” He said, “Let’s bump elbows instead.” I said, “Sounds great.” It was a good overall experience with him. It looks like later in life, we would have to have the ducting gone through and things looked over because our house is a 1930s house build. The tech informed us that the heat pump is actually what it was. The heat pump that’s outside that does the air conditioning too, is something probably older than him. It looks like something out of the ‘80s. I have to contact AFC again and see where the boundaries lie, because I'm sure they don't just cover everything. They say that they do, but we'll see.
But to this day, my husband wants us to just keep paying on the $50 and see how that works. And he said if we need AFC in the future but something falls through again, we would just discontinue with them. At least at this point, we're outside that grace period and maybe they would give us our 100%. But I now have mixed feelings about them. When I sent over the receipt for the guy doing the work, the reps were courteous and very forthcoming in telling me that they were apologetic. The customer service was there. I just wished that there would have been more of that upfront when we were looking online. I almost felt like it was hidden. Read the fine print.

I looked hard at ratings probably as much as anything. And then of course, I'm in the automobile warranty business. I approached a bit differently because we do the same thing. We just do it with cars. And the idea was that I wanted to read all the contracts and make sure what the limits of liability and those things were. So, that's why I adopted America's 1st Choice. It was a smart decision. We only had one experience, but they certainly did what they said they would do. However, we didn't get off on the best foot in the first phone call.
They had a waiting period that was waived for me because I went straight from one home warranty to another. And it wasn't in the records that it was waived, but they were able to go back, research the calls, called me and said, "Yeah, you're right. Our guy promised you that, and it should have been in the records, and it wasn't." It was an item that was not necessarily covered, but she said, "Just to kinda make it up for you because we know we didn't start off on the best foot, we'll absorb half of it." And I was fine with that. I would've been fine with zero if it wasn't covered. It was not a high dollar item and $300, $400 type of deals. So, what impressed me more than anything else though was the phone call back because I was thinking, "Oh, God, here we go with a runaround. Damn, I made a poor decision." But immediately I get a phone call back going, "Nope. We went and researched it. You are correct." It's not something you hear a lot.
Being in the warranty business and watching people file $6,000 claims on their cars and having it paid, I think that the industry, in a way, is really malign. Because I know what we pay, and that's the case too when it comes to home warranties. Nobody thinks they would do it. But if it was covered complaint, they would cover it. And then, how they do it with the least amount of hassle is probably the best idea about who to be working with. Because I know a lot of people who've had a claim. But nonetheless, to me, it's the ease and the way they work with you. If they would pay a claim, don't argue forever, just pay. And that's what I look for in people that I represent.

My representative was clear and courteous. She explained the difference in the plans and extras or add on. We looked and both the discounts and the exclusions. I got 5 star service. Dryer would start and then stop. After trying the off and on buttons, the repairman felt that the issue was with the button that controls the fabric selection. Repairman found select button is cracked and Seemed to be causing the trouble. He said he would report the trouble and get back with us on the company’s decision.

AFC is very efficient. I used them once and it went well. The entire process of opening a ticket and talking to them was simple. The reps were helpful. The contractor came and he was really nice and professional. He explained the problem and it ended up something that I had to work with the homeowner directly so I ended up not using them. For someone that is always busy like I am, it was a great experience overall.

Excellent and concise breakdown of pricing and plans. Very personable and knowledgeable rep. Prompt call back and follow up. I see why this company is rated number one on the industry. Very easy to enroll. Loved that you could choose your own service tech. Very much appreciated having the same rep assigned to my account. Liked that the customer service is in-house and not outsourced. All of these factors prompted me to switch providers in the first day.

My policy was canceled for one month and I restarted within a month. When I requested to renew my policy, I asked them to send me a complete brochure with completely new information on what is and isn't covered. They said they were going to send me the welcome package within five business days, but it has been already almost one month, and I haven't received it. Apart from that, AFC offers a good price and good service, so I went them.

I'm not telling you not to buy it. I'm telling you that you need to read what they cover and how much they cover per item before you purchase this. I bought my home in November, my AC unit did not work the following summer. They refuse to cover my AC unit without records from the previous owner. They are only going to pay $200 towards the $2200 bill. Their customer service department along with their manager Rachael all have been kind and friendly to me. After dealing with them I decided to read into their website and their services and had I done so prior to the purchase of the home, I would not have purchased this service. This company is going to send you on every goose chase about warranties with the manufacturer and preventive maintenance records from previous homeowners that they can to get out of paying anything. A waste of my time and my money.

I don't think that AFC followed the terms of the contract and I will go on and follow through 'cause I've committed for three years, but if something doesn't change, then I'm not going to use their company any longer. I had issues from day one, all of my repairs. I bet I made 15 phone calls back and forth to their company. They were calling repair people who got absolutely aggravated and they had to come back out to my house at my cost. On the front end, I had two air conditioners that had problems and they said I didn't have them serviced, but I did. They need to follow what they say, that if I have a problem and I've had my air conditioners serviced, they evaluate. Mine certainly failed within their guidelines.
They should proceed with getting repairs done rather than waiting a month of back and forth and calling a repairman on his time. That's not right. The repairman was the one that I've used before and I just paid them out of my pocket. They've done a very good job. I've had them for five years, so I absolutely have no issues. I have no issues if AFC selected a contractor to come out in a timely manner too. If your air conditioner's out now, you know you need service quick. All in all, it was not a pleasurable business experience.

Maureen responded quickly to my online inquiry for information and was very helpful on the phone reviewing plan and cost options. Rates were competitive and the service more prompt on the phone than I experienced with my last company. I love that you offer one year and three year pricing options.

We've had a great experience so far with AFC Home Club. We had an AC repair done last month or the month before. We had an issue with a wire connecting to our AC unit into the power unit so we had to have that replaced. It is our first time owning a home and as far as ease goes, it was pretty easy to get ahold of somebody to come out and take a look at what was going on.
I had to call AFC because I remembered that when we had purchased the house, the previous owners had actually had the home warranty. They transferred our name onto their plan and they gave us the information. My mom remembered and said, "I'm pretty sure you guys need to get that fixed. And I'm pretty sure you have insurance." We took a look at it and remembered it was in our files. We just gave AFC a call and I'm actually set up for another year.
Everything was great. The tech who came was very kind. He was there to do the job and he wasn't rude. He was very on time the first day. But on the second day I never actually received a 100% assurance that somebody was gonna come and take a look at the AC unit. I got off at 5:30. Most technicians, I believe, are off at 5:00. I was really thankful that they were there and that they were very flexible in helping me get it done. It was probably like 20 minutes after they had said somebody may or may not show up. But they said it could have either been that day or the next day, so when somebody showed up, it wasn't really a big surprise.
When the tech came to look at the unit, he had the suspicion of what was going on with it. Unfortunately, it was on a Friday and it was the day after the riot started. A lot of things got a little crazy as far as shipping and things like that so he couldn't get ahold of the piece until the next week, which actually was a lot faster because he had said it was gonna take at least a week. But it was only four days, maybe. It was right after the weekend that it happened. He came out on a Wednesday and he was out by Monday.
He also stayed until he made sure that the AC unit was running correctly. He knew that we had a PowerSave on our AC unit that we weren't aware of. It took quite a long time and he was like, "I'm just gonna wait until it turns on, make sure everything's running correctly." It turns on but it wasn't running correctly. He was here for a little over an hour and a half to make sure that everything was running smoothly and that he did the job before he left.
As far as getting ahold of AFC and being able to talk to somebody in customer service, it was pretty easy. I didn't wait very long. I recommended AFC to my mom. She does refurbishing homes and she remodels them. I suggested AFC to her and told her that these were actually pretty cheap, especially with them being able to work out a payment plan, especially living in St. Paul. My mom wants to do lower income homes and I told her that it'd be a very great option for homeowners when they're first purchasing their home, especially in a low-income area.

Oven. You suck! Your people suck! I can’t find many repair people who are willing to work with you because of how trashy your company is. You have the right to choose your own technician at any juncture. AFC Home Club has no outstanding issues with tech's in your area not working with us, they may have us confused with another company.
We simply had to wait for a paid invoice to be able to reimburse you directly, the technician stated the repair was not paid for therefore we could not reimburse. I show this repair was paid for in full, we apologize if there was any confusion.

The ability to pick my own vendor and the way you pay vendors is a major plus... I have experience with a number of vendors that do quality work at a reasonable price from plumbing, AC/Heat, and other appliances while delivering service so this is a great Plus...

This was the 3rd service call that we’ve had with AFC. Each call was for a different issue unrelated to each other. This time was far better than the last 2 as the last 2 were absolutely disastrous. But I digress. I will only review my most recent service call. Filing my claim and having a technician assigned was fine. The tech called and gave us a time they would come to our house. They arrived within the stated time frame and took care of our issue. However, the tech didn’t want to call AFC on site to give the diagnosis. He wanted to get back the his office and talk to his manager first. We said fine. So we get an email and 2 text messages from AFC reminding us to have the tech call for the diagnosis.
The next day rolls around so I call the service provider and he let me have it! He said that AFC was terrible to deal with and kept them on hold for hours when they were trying to call to give the diagnosis. He told me this was going to be the last deal they did for AFC and he didn’t care if he ever talked to AFC again. So the issue wasn’t with us or the service provider doing their job, the issue was between AFC and the service company. I don’t really appreciate how the service provider spoke to me when I was just trying to make sure my ticket with AFC was closed out appropriately.

As a customer that has worked with another home warranty company this experience was awesome. With the company I am tied to for a few more months, it felt like when I would finally get a technician out they would run from the home warranty company. I had First American and it seemed like AFC had some higher ratings as I did some research on the internet. It was also somewhat cheaper so I went with them. I had a claim when I noticed puddles of water under my sink and the sink has a leak. The operator from AFC asked where the leak was coming from and I told her I couldn't see it. She said they were going to get somebody and get me taken care of. They got somebody out the next day or 2 days later. That part was okay. It was fairly easy to get the appointment but their performance was completely awful.
I met the contractor and he's real nice. He looked under the sink. It took like 2 minutes. He said it was coming from the garbage disposal and when the garbage disposal leaked like that, it needed to be replaced. After he talked to AFC, he handed the phone to me and told me there was a problem. The operator from AFC said the contractor wanted to charge us all this money. I said, "I don't give a ** what he wants to charge me. You called him out here. You had the agreement with him to pay him for the services, and I pay my $60 deductible.”
She told me I should have told them that it was the garbage disposal that was leaking. I told them I'm not the best handyman and that's why I purchased the policy. She said, "If you wanna replace the garbage disposal yourself, what you can do is go out and purchase it. Then you can pay a handyman $30 to install it or you can install it yourself. Email me a copy of the receipt and we'll write you a check, and we'll forego your $60 copay."
I went ahead and purchased it, looked at 3 YouTube videos and installed it. It was kind of a fairly easy installation and it hasn't leaked since. They sent me an eCheck and didn't charge me a $60 copay. The $72 was for the brand new garbage disposal. They were true to their word but I was fairly upset because it's like when you pay that insurance premium to a company to have work done to your home for repairs, you expect them to come through just like if you crash your car. They wouldn't even deal with the sprinkler outside. I'm disappointed with AFC but I went with them again ‘cause they offered me another discount when I purchased this year’s policy.

We placed a service request for repair work on our pool and spa. We got a response almost immediately and were contacted by a technician the same day. After his evaluation, AFC reviewed and approved all the work within one business day and we were contacted by a sweetheart of a Customer Service representative and by an email that the work was approved. Now we are waiting for the tech to get that information and schedule the repairs. All in all AFC has handled this in their customary highly efficient manner. I would most definitely recommend them...and I always do!!

The pipe below the Kitchen sink was clogged and water was draining very slowly. Plumber did a cleanup of up to 50 feet of pipe using mechanized snake and cleaned the clog. The work was done professionally. AFC personnel followed up after the job to confirm and ensured we were satisfied with the work.

Please be aware we send out all guidelines along with place them online for review prior to purchase. With any industry home warranty has different limits set on different items with a maximum of $10,000 aggregate limits here at AFC Home Club. These limits usually range per company. Also, keep in mind concerning faucets, often they have lifetime warranties so you will want to check with your manufacturer. When it comes to the refund time this is also including the time it takes the bank to process the funds back to your account. Your service is terrible. I had the need to call you twice in the two years I was paying your company. Neither time did you come through as was promised. The first time had to do with the AC in my condo. You sent a technician to look at the problem. They said they wouldn't be able to help because you have hadn't paid them for a previous service call. I should have dropped you then. I was told that you wouldn't be covering the cost of the repair because of a "technicality."
The second time was in regard to my clothes washer in the condo. You told me the repair wouldn't be covered because, again, your company didn't cover the kind of repair that needed to be done. I read the contract I'd had with you and nowhere did it say the part needed wouldn't be covered. When I called to complain I was told, "Well, if it doesn't say it's covered, or if it doesn't specify it wasn't covered, then it wasn't covered." Really???? I was then promised $150 to placate me. How stupid do you think people are? You're a sham business, the like of which I've never seen before. I have now done my homework and have a company that I can trust. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AFC, EVER! AGAIN.

Hello, I canceled my membership for the following reasons: the first technician sent to my home never discussed the option to replace the ice maker. Instead, he just offered for it to be repaired, and the second technician was trying to get me to pay more money for the repair. As a matter of fact, I can have a service technician repair my broken household items for a lower cost than my monthly membership. The application process with America's 1st Choice Home Club was absolutely simple. It was completely online and when I spoke to the representative, I referred him to my agent and he made sure that payment came through with escrow. They’ve been great to deal with. I’ve had to use them a couple of times in our first year and they were always there. They were always on the mark and took care of everything. I even just renewed with them.

This is my 2nd (?) contract but I have never had to use the service. However, the people I have talked with have always been very good and made me feel comfortable about the services. I do believe that the cost is quite expensive. It would be good if recurring users could receive a discount on renewal based on use (kind of like a good driver rebate for no accidents) or years of service.

My garbage disposal broke. This insurance pretty much paid for the replacement but not the installation. I also put in for my microwave handle that broke which is over half the cost of the microwave. Insurance doesn’t cover anything. So I have to buy a new microwave (or handle) on my own. This has been my first experience.

Pricewise, America’s 1st Choice is reasonable. I bought the home warranty for about 10 properties. I have some good and bad experiences with them. My bad experience was when I had this contractor from a licensed company. He was very bad and had no work ethics. This was for my rental property. My tenants complained so much about him. He didn’t show up on time. About three months passed, I got charged twice and the issue was still there. It was just a fridge, there was leaking on the back of it. I said to AFC, “Miss, can you get somebody else? ‘Cause he’s not the right person.” Unfortunately, they still sent him. What was even worse, I have another property and for a totally different issue, a plumbing issue, and the company sent the same guy there.
The good experience that I had with them was when one tenant stated their AC unit was not working. The technician that came found that there was one component that was bad. He showed up on time and he had to do an interaction with the customer too. My tenant was happy. The issue was resolved quickly as well.

The service I've received does not reflect the way the customer service was sold to me. I've had three claims. One time was for my dryer and I was told that the drum was not covered. The second time was my garbage disposal and I was told that you all did not send techs out for the disposal. That I had to find my own tech and pay to get it fixed and file a claim. I did that and filed the claim over a month ago and I have not heard anything back from you all about my refund. This means I've had $125.00 of my money unavailable to me for about 4 weeks. This is very disappointing. I've called your customer service and was told it takes about six weeks. I really think your customer engagement and customer service is a level 1 based on my experience.

Their contract has too many loopholes in it to avoid coverage needed. When a part is covered you must pay for it upfront and 30+ days for a refund and if CONTRACT is cancelled the refund is deducted from proceeds back to you. Secondly, there's no consistency within the company. You're giving misleading or inaccurate information. This being said I was informed on more than one occasion by customer service what to submit for a refund but was always overruled by their Service Department that no refunds would be given due to the company not honoring the advice given or making any compromise.

I feel like I was deceived when I purchased my policy. I remember saying to the person that sold me the policy that even though I had just purchased all brand new kitchen appliances, I had enough older things like my hot water heater and garage door opener that could make this policy worth the cost. He never explained that the items mentioned were too old to be covered.

AC payments. The payment was minimal and covered less than half of cost. I paid for 2 years of AFC and in 1 1/2 years had one small claim. You disallowed my pool equipment claim and had horrible return phone service. I gave up trying.

First off I never contacted you today so if you my information it wasn't me. I have been at work. Second off when I did have your service it sucked. Nobody came to service for over 2 weeks. Called, canceled and waited another week and half the second attempt. Then when they did I paid my deductible to just be told it won't be fixed. What's the point of a home warranty if nobody fixes anything or helps when needed. It was a water heater and a pipe busted. Either time nobody helped. Waste of time and money. Which I paid 3 years and never got anything back. Only had like 6 to 8 months maybe a year at most.

I paid for a Platinum plan that was to cover repairs. Supra oven went out, called AFC, repair man came out. He charged me $75.00 then told me the oven was not covered. I cancelled the AFC membership. I asked for a refund and have not heard from them.

This service was not at all what was described to me. I tried to cancel, but it was nearly impossible. I was told I had to write a letter, which I did. Of course it was never received. Now I am being automatically billed. This is a complete ripoff. I will report to my credit card company and make sure everyone knows what this company really is. It is NOT a home warranty company. They get around this by calling themselves a "home warranty club" when you need to make a claim but selling themselves as a home warranty company.

Very limited coverages. Signing for three years as premium service is worse because AFC has limits which goes above and beyond annual terms. Simply if AFC covers a problem in first year, it rejects to pay in second and third year for that item. So you feel stupid to get three years service with AFC. Let me start by saying that I purchased 6 policies from AFC for 6 properties I own. Last summer the A/C on my personal residence was not working so I called AFC. A technician showed up and after investigating the issue, he said it looked like the problem was a relay switch at the condenser but that the electrical breaker was not working so that had to be changed first. I had to call AFC. I did and a day later an electrician came to the house. He saw the breaker and said he had to order it. He came two days later with the wrong breaker.
A day after that he came to installed the breaker but before he installed it I had to get approval from AFC because it was more than they would cover. I called AFC and they would only cover $100 of the $500 bill. After this I had to call AFC again for them to send the A/C guy back to the house. They send a different person who could not figure out what was wrong with the A/C. I told him the first A/C guy told me it was a relay. He then worked on it for about an hour longer then came to tell me I need a new condenser because the one I had had burnt up. I went outside to see what he was talking about and smelled burnt electrical wires.
I again called AFC to tell them I needed a new condenser. AFC told me they first had to talk to the technician and get a report. A day later I called AFC again to see where the approval for the new condenser was. AFC told me they would only cover $600 of the $4000 because the unit was more than 10 years old. I complained and asked to speak to a manager. After a couple of days of arguing with AFC managers, AFC agreed to pay $1,500 of the $4000. I cancelled all 6 AFC policies immediately after that because everything in my house is more than 10 years old and if they are not going to cover it then why pay for this insurance.
This summer when I started my A/C again, the new condenser started to make a funny noise. I called the installer and asked about a warranty on the unit or the installation. They told me they were no longer associated with AFC so they would not come and look at the unit. I told them I would pay for their time out of my pocket. They said they no longer serviced the area where I lived. I then asked for a recommendation or a number I could call for the warranty on the unit. They would not help me with that either.

I had this contract for approximately two years and got little to no value out of the coverages included. For the items that I didn’t have covered, I was expected to go out and purchase the part and replace it myself and then get reimbursed. There are many more home warranty companies in the market that provide far superior service than yours. I will not recommend AFC.

I have not had any contact with AFC since my warranty expired on January 8, 2019, but today, June 9, 2020 I received a text alert thanking me for my purchase and asking me to take this survey. Luckily, it does not appear that I was actually charged any money but it scared the living crap out of me and I had to freeze my credit thinking my accounts were compromised.

Before signing up with the company was told things like my equipment does not depreciate in case of replacement, asked for the recorded conversation that I have received with almost 3.5 minutes deletion. Decided to not take it further as your company is not worth my time. I am defending a whole nation’s freedom with the US Army. But if someone asked about warranty recommendation, I tell them about my experience and have them listen to the recording.

I was assured when I purchased your home warranty that if there were any problems I could call the person who sold the warranty to me that I could call. I called him and got no response. Plus it still took too long to get a repair person out and I had to seek my own repair person and with items not covered I ended up not getting any real assistance from your company. That is why I did not renew.

This company is the worst for several reasons, 1. Getting a hold of them is like pulling your eye, teeth with no **, 2. They said they would pull the deductible for a service call out of my account the way they did every month for billing and they did not. 3. I had to write the repair company a check for the deductible. 4. Basically they put a “Band-Aid“ on my air conditioning unit and then told me that they will no longer cover ANY repairs to it. I had an issue with my dryer but I didn’t dare call this company out in fear that they were charge me the deductible and the repair person wouldn’t fix it because it’s not covered or “too old”. So I wasted $576 (had to finish out the contract) before I could cancel without penalty.

Always takes two business days minimum to schedule someone. Couldn't even get someone to call for an emergency such as an a/c malfunction because it was a Saturday when it occurred. Of the 4-6 times I have tried to call to schedule maintenance or to have repairs covered, I have been told at least 3-4 of them that what I am asking for is not covered. For instance, an a/c part blew out, and your company decided that it would not be beneficial due to the warranty on the a/c would be affected. I would have rather AFC cover the repairs, but I wasn't allowed to make the decision. It didn't cover something as simple as a repair on a dish-washing door, or garage door repair. The only reason I have kept it is because I paid it off in full for three years and I know as soon as I cancel it I'd have repairs you would have actually tried to help me with. The customer service team is always helpful and friendly, but the actual service itself is subpar.

When it comes to your AC request no home warranty covers something that is under manufacturer warranty, you must always work with the manufacturer first as they guarantee their products and we pick up coverage after that runs out. My experience with this claim has not been very good. I was surprised to learn that I would only get $200 towards my repair or a replacement washer. When I signed up. My salesman kept telling me everything would be replaced if it could not be repaired. He never explained it might only be replaced a fraction of the replacement cost. I sent my receipt 5/21 and never heard back even though I emailed the customer service rep who send me the link twice asking for an update. 2.5 weeks no word from AFC. Terrible customer service. When I called to find out an update, I was told that my case was in the reimbursements department, but they did not know how I wanted my reimbursement via check or an electronic check. Why has no one contacted me to ask? Really bad communication on your part. And your claims of replacement guarantees are really false.

Reimbursement was a bit of a jumping through hoops, paid much less than the cost of repair on my furnace, & it took weeks to get it. Customer service was ok for the most part, but the last rep that had to ok the payout tried to make me feel like he's doing me a great favor since he wanted me to know he could contest the part replaced and require proof of maintenance. I bought the Systems plan in case something went horribly wrong, I wouldn't be $1000's out of pocket, so it gives me some peace of mind. As with any warranty plan, you have to make sure you have all of your ducks in a row, as getting what you paid for is always a struggle with them.

Plumbing with our pipes in the attic. Technician came out. Told us that the pipe is leaking so it needed to be replaced. The technician also checked the water regulator and found that the pressure on it was at 100 instead of 65psi. He called AFC warranty to tell them about the job before working and AFC said that they weren't going to warrant the job because they don't cover the cost of the water regulator. Then we ask to talk to a supervisor and the situation resolved. The customer had to pay for half of the job and AFC paid for the other half.

When I purchased this plan I specifically asked about replacing older AC units. I was told that they would replace it at no cost, no matter how old the unit is. "If we can't fix it, we replace it". That was not true. They tried everything possible to get out of replacing it. It ended up costing us over $4100 to replace the unit and the company that finally replaced it put in a no name brand and tried to extort an additional $1700 payment on the day they installed it.

I was told once my refrigerator was repaired it was no longer covered, if something else broke it was on me to replace. Had to spend extra to get the AC units inspected, not a big issue except that I needed that each year which basically if the unit was broke it had to be repaired before they would cover so no value there in the coverage. I saw very little pluses except you get to pick your contractor repair person which I can do now.

Because I was not in residence at the time, the post office refused to deliver my welcome packet. I have never received it. The only time I have attempted to use my service was when my heater stopped working. It took me forever to get in touch with you and then I was told to wait 3 or 4 days for a company to get in touch with me. Luckily I called the company that had serviced it before and they told me on the phone how to fix it. Hurray. Problem solved.

We're in California and AFC is based in Georgia. I have to call before 3 o'clock so it's not very convenient. I feel like the service request line should be 24/7 because it gives more availability. And when AFC calls back, they may not call us back at a convenient time either. When we want to return the phone call, there is always a delay. That's three days in a row and once we've successfully submitted the claim, there is another two days of waiting before any service tech would attend to our needs. That's kind of tricky, but AFC eventually comes through. Also, I had a laundry machine issue with our rental property before and they could only pay up to $350 for the toilet. We're paying the premium but when I need the policy, it's gonna fail me or it's gonna pay only a fraction of the cost.

I selected AFC the first time because of the price. When I was shopping around, I looked at what their warranty covers versus another one and their price was maybe a few hundred dollars less, but they cover some of the same things as the previous warranty company I had. They're pretty efficient, for the most part, and that matters a lot to me. If I'm gonna pay my money and something breaks in the house, I wanna know that they're gonna be on it immediately. A recent claim was for the air conditioning unit that wasn’t working on a rental house. AFC was wonderful once I called and got it coordinated. The challenge was more so on the company that was sent to fix it.
On the first day, the tech was supposed to come that morning and he didn’t come till that afternoon. Then, they had to reach back out to AFC to see if it would be covered and I had to keep calling them because they didn’t call me back. I got the feedback from AFC that everything was approved and taken care of. And I had to call the contractor to follow up with them because they said that they hadn’t heard from AFC. At last, the guy came out the following day but they gave him the wrong paperwork, which included the wrong part. But they made my tenant the first appointment of the next day and he was there at about 8 o’clock in the morning and fixed it. Within a couple of hours, everything was working fine in the house again. AFC has been good to me the couple of times I have had to call.

Paid 60 for the plumber to come out and service the toilet bowl. Issues appeared to be fixed however two days later the problem was present again. I was told after the first service call there was a 7 day work guarantee So why am I being charged another service fee. It’s obvious the problem wasn’t properly fixed. The guy I used gave me a good price and he fixed the issue. I told AFC he was charging me $115 and they said they wanna find out what he did and all that. They asked for his number and he said he talked to them. Then, he called me back and he wanted me to pay him for that because it took 30 minutes. I told the lady who was doing the reimbursement process what he said and I was not happy about it. I don’t know if that’s the standard way of doing it but that’s a long time to ask somebody. He was very mad that they took 30 minutes of his time to just ask him questions. AFC needs to work on that.

did a lot of research and I read a lot of the comments and reviews. It seemed like AFC and their site was very thorough on what it covered. And the rep who originally signed me up was very thorough in explaining what would be covered and how it would be covered. Everything went pretty smooth with a dryer claim. I paid my $75 upfront because I prefer doing that and I went directly with them to do that. I had them pick somebody out and I really liked the guy a lot, that was a plus. Even my tenant said he was very, very nice. He gave me a heads up when he was coming and he was very thorough in explaining things. He even gave me tips on how to keep the lint clean. He had to come out twice. The first time, he discovered that he could fix it but it needs a new part so he ordered the part. Then, he fixed it in a couple of days. I was very impressed with AFC.

I went on the internet to find out the best warranties and compared them. I read the reviews too and the reason that I selected America's 1st Choice was because of the customer service. The guys were just so helpful. I could call and talk to them immediately. We signed up with them as part of our closing process. Then, when it came time for renewal, the guys would contact me and say, “You're up for renewal. How do you wanna do this?” They just handled everything and we set up the payment over the phone.
We had a claim where the water heater caught fire. Whenever we had that, it was under warranty. I called America's 1st Choice and they asked me how old it was. They gave me guidance on how to handle it without and filing a claim there. So, we got our free water heater. Then, our garage door opener broke and it wouldn't open. I was not happy to hear that the screen was not covered because it cost us a lot of money. The coverage wasn't quite what I thought it was. But I understand that’s standard for garage door openers. But again, their customer service has been excellent on all the calls. Except, there was one. It was when I called in and it was almost like I was bothering the rep. That was the only negative I had whenever I have to contact their call center. But whenever I've talked to somebody after that, it's been perfect.

I didn't have any difficulties submitting a claim with AFC. There was one point where I was trying to figure out if whatever was wrong with my heating system was covered. They said to call once the tech figures out what was wrong. I tried to call them for an hour straight and they didn’t pick up, so I ended up just having the technician fix it. That was the only issue I had. Then, I went back and told them later once I was able to get in contact with them and it was covered. I put the claim in and they sent me my reimbursement. They do a great job. Maybe it was just that the time I tried to call was a bad time.

These guys have just helped me with a real delicate problem. Water pipes were calcified to the point that water had stopped flowing. They were quick and did what their part of the warranty called for. They won't build you a new house but they will do what they promised in the warranty. Work your warranty and your home insurance to get what you want.

The sign up process with AFC was pretty easy but there was a little lack of clarity in terms of receiving login information and knowing what my current status is. We weren’t aware that there was a waiting period before we could file a claim. That was an issue initially. And overall, I don’t think it’s a 100% clear when you’re creating your claim from the get-go. It’s like a general web portal and there’s nothing customized to the customer's experience or maybe even saying what claims they have currently opened, things like that. But I had a customer service rep that was pretty helpful and that kinda helped mitigate the negative feelings I had towards it.

I filed a plumbing claim on 4/10/2020. The issue has still not been taken care of. I have called the plumber multiple times, and although they did the diagnosis, they have never come back to fix the leak. This was after weeks of calling to get the service approved.

The provider called me right away and they came in and did the service without any problems. Their coverage is pretty all-inclusive. We went with whatever their highest care package is. During our most recent renewal, the person was pretty helpful and definitely persistent in terms of calling back. There were times where he called and I wasn’t available to speak and he was very respectful of that. He was very good on following up in terms of his persistence but I didn't feel like he was overpushing it or overselling it at all. He wasn’t contacting me at all hours of the day.

Luke reached out to me by telephone after I made an inquiry on their website. He was very helpful explaining the terms and workings of the contract. I was very pleased that I would be able to use service companies of my own choosing as long as they are licensed and insured. I described some of the special situations with respect to the property and he explained how each would be handled. I came away from the conversation with a sense that the service from AFC would be much more personal than that I receive from the home warranty company I have been dealing with for the past three years. Submitted claims to AFC Home Club is easy. However, I didn't realize that they don't like older things. I had something happen involving my dishwasher and my assumption was they would replace it if the fix didn't work. That was not the case which was a little frustrating. Whenever they sell their policy, they should make sure customers know of depreciation and that if their appliances are over a certain age, the warranty would not pay for it.
Still, we got our issue. taken care of. The contractor they used was good. AFC called the contractor and called me to get an appointment. The process was easy and quick. Plus, they had good timing. Everything went fine. Once I got everything turned in, AFC did things quickly. They explained everything to me and things happened within a reasonable amount of time.

America's 1st Choice has been reasonable. I had my few struggles with them, but all in all, they still come through for me. I’m thankful for that. I call in my claims and my rep is great. I really like him because he’s always there for me. And even when I have a problem afterwards, he would check into it then help me with what he can do for me.
But their claims department doesn't really know everything that they should know. They need more information about what their policies do or do not cover because that’s been where I had my issues and had to get my service rep involved. It can be a little aggravating at times. The other thing too is I had people come to my house and they told me that they couldn't do anything until I gave them the check or I had to pay them the service fee. It's like, "Where do you think I’m going? You do the work. What am I supposed to do? Run away from home?"

Answered all my questions with ease, sent substantiating documentation, and was honest with policies even if the answer could potentially kill the sale. I felt that I could trust him and am happy with my decision to purchase. If the service continues on this level I will be a happy customer.

We had spent several days looking for the best home warranty coverage. Out of all the companies we felt it was safer to become a member of AFC. Our sales rep Connor solidified our decision with his knowledge and patience of our questioning. He explained things with clarity. Being able to chose the amount we pay for service call is definitely a neat feature to the plan too. I would absolutely recommend AFC to a friend.

The was the plumbing problem in the bathroom and it went well. The tech fixed the problem and I do not have any problem after that. I was very happy. AFC is pretty good. They do follow-ups and make sure that I got reimbursed. Good customer service.

Applying and submitting claims to AFC has been easy. Their website is user-friendly. However, I didn't like the contractor they sent out. He wasn't communicating properly and he didn't show up. I had to keep making calls and then he would send me a message saying that he would come the next day. He would say that he would come at 1:00 but then come at 4. I would call him sometimes and then he would say that he couldn't make it and come the next day instead. So, it took longer for him to look at my problem. Then, when he found the problem, he would say that he would come back again which makes the process take even longer.
The work he did was not good either. Two things were broken at that time. One was major and the other was minor. He fixed one thing but forgot to fix the other one. He was a mess and I had to fix the minor problem on my own. I told AFC after the job was done that I wouldn't deal with the same contractor again. Still, AFC has been great and they provide good customer service.

So far, I am happy with the experience of getting signed up. The salesperson was courteous and respectful. The follow-up phone call was prompt and informative. I look forward to working with the club and having a better experience than I did with American Home Shield.

I had a warranty through somebody else But America's 1st Choice Home Club had better coverage for less money than what I would pay. Signing up was super-easy and I just finished a claim that I took out in January, and it was very easy to get everything fixed and reimbursed. I had some plumbing issues. On my last claim there was a tiny leak in the laundry room where the hose hooks to the wall. Because it went undetected for a while, it did damage-- molding on the other side of the wall, which is the bedroom. They said they wouldn’t cover because they don't cover water damage. It would have been nice if something was generated by one thing and if it damaged something else, it would have been covered.

Agent, Kevin, was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He explained the different plans clearly, including payment plans and answered all my questions. He also gave me sound advice re: my current insurance coverage. I will highly recommend him to my friends and relatives. He is an asset to the company.
