    My experience with AFC has been horrible. I’m a platinum member and I've been paying faithfully for a full year. One time, my air conditioners at two of my properties went off. AFC denied payment which was terrible. Their reps said I have to maintain the unit and that the unit has to be working. Obviously, the unit was working for a full year and yet they deny payment.

    I submitted a claim to AFC Home Club for $7,031 concerning an air conditioning issue. The techs whom they tried to hook me up with would not come out. I called them to try and get another estimate and they said they couldn’t get here for a month. I called two other companies, got bids and went with the least expensive of the two.

    The company I went with, Adam’s Air, gave me three different prices depending on how big a system I wanted to put in here. I went with their lowest priced one, which was an American Standard furnace and air conditioning unit. and it came with a 10-year warranty. The gentlemen who installed it were very polite, nice guys. They were hard workers. It has been kinda warm. They could only stay up in the attic about 15 minutes, and they’ve had to come down and get a drink. It was 120 plus degrees in there and I don’t see how they did it. They’ve come out soaking wet, but they did the job and the unit is working fine. Now, I'm waiting for reimbursement.

    I had an experience with another warranty provider, but it didn't go well, so I shopped around. And then, I ended up with AFC. My experience submitting my claims has been good, but when comes to the resolution, I'm really not quite happy with it. A couple of times, they claimed they didn't find the brand names of the appliances, and they tried to dismiss it. This has happened three times already. And sometimes, they can't repair, so they end up giving me an amount that is not worth even the $65 I paid for the guy to show up. I don't know how they come up with the calculation.

    Typically, when they say they can't repair it, they have to replace it, right? But apparently, they don't even really look into that. They just give you a depreciation value, and say that's how much you're gonna pay. So I just go and buy the new appliance. But when I told AFC that I was gonna buy it, they told that I couldn't until an inspector sees it. The inspector showed up three times but he couldn't resolve it. The contractors are very good but they're handcuffed because they cannot diagnose, and they can't install it because they have to wait and to get the authorization. So, they have to go and schedule for a second day or third day while the authorization could be easily done over the phone.

    I don’t like the claims process. America's First Choice would cover some stuff but you have to pay first and it takes way too long for them to reimburse you. I don’t like that. In terms of the service providers, I only had one whom I considered outstanding. That was after we went a whole week with no air at 100-plus degree weather because none of the others would show up. The people at AFC couldn’t understand why the contractors didn’t show up. They were never notified of anything different. Then there was one that they called and he came out. After that, I had straight up contact with him. He also gave me permission to call him when I need something but of course, it was going through AFC first.

    Mostly my issue has been my air conditioner. I’ve been good all summer with my air conditioner but if anything were to happen, I would have to keep proving that something had been done before. I would submit paperwork that says the technician had done the air conditioner and that it had been fixed. I don’t like that. AFC takes you through a whole bunch of rigamarole in order to get services provided. That needs to improve. If you have a claim, you call out and get someone then they take you through a whole lot.

    We are so sorry to hear that you were not 100% satisfied with the coverage. We can understand how frustrating it is not having an HVAC tech show when the weather is so hot! With the unit being a bit older you may want to make arrangements towards replacement but I do see it is working well now. Sometimes the techs do not show up, it is rare but it happens and it is very frustrating. While they are not employees of AFC it stell reflects poorly.

Submitting a claim to them has been a pretty good experience. One thing I’d like to have them cover, which they don’t, is the water pressure regulator. But other than that, everything seems all right. Their reps are pretty good when I call in my claim. One their contractors took 30 days to get out here, but that was an unusual situation. All of that couldn't be further from the truth. The customer service is rude and I'm tired of dealing with them, and I'm gonna cancel.     Sometimes things break or things go wrong and for peace of mind, I wanted a home warranty. By having it, I don't have to come up with $2,000 if my refrigerator goes out because the warranty will replace it. When I was choosing a home warranty company, I looked at the reviews and I chose a couple of companies with higher reviews to call and ask about their service. One of the things I like about AFC is that they allow you to choose your own contractor or your own person to fix something. I have found in the past with those other home warranties that sometimes it takes a while to get somebody out. But if you're allowed to use your own contractor, you can usually get them out quickly.

    To submit claims, I call AFC because sometimes I have questions, but I have to wait on hold for some time. I quit my last warranty company because their wait times were an hour. AFC's wait time hasn't been that long, but it can be 30 minutes. But, I like that AFC is really good. I have two houses with AFC. I have a rental house and not too long ago, I had to submit a claim for a plumbing stoppage and when the contractor got there, they found that they pulled out some roots. Then AFC said that they don't cover that, but they went ahead and paid me a lot of the bill. The bill was 227 and they sent me a check for 134 because they subtracted $60. I always appreciate them. They take care of things in good faith and that has made me stay with them.

My interactions with the rep over the phone were okay but AFC does not stand behind any of their claims, especially when it comes to covered items. You think everything is covered then once someone is sent out here, they always seem to find a loophole why they can’t cover for certain things. When the warranty expires, I will be switching back to my old company because at least, you get what you pay for.

    America's 1st Choice Home Club covered absolutely nothing on our water heater when it went out because they only cover external parts of a water heater. It had leaked so it was an internal failure, which was 90% of what happened with the water heater. Filing the claim for it was okay though. And when we called them for the air conditioner, they took care of it. Originally, I went with AFC because of a Google search but had I done more homework, I probably would not have gone with them.

    I had a bad experience with another home warranty so I looked elsewhere and went with America's First Choice Home Club. I was told by the representative who sold me the policy that certain things were covered. And then I found out they're not when I submitted a claim. My first experience was terrible. The technicians said they couldn't come out for a week and a half to fix the problem so I got my own technician. Being able to do that is better than when I was with my previous warranty provider where I had to use theirs. Also, sometimes, the claims representatives are professional and able to answer all my questions.

    I’ve been a homeowner for a while and I know things happen. And the older your home gets, the more things happen so I decided to get America's 1st Choice Home Club. Their monthly payment amount was something I could afford and they’ve been very timely when I submit a claim. When I call and tell them what's going on, within 24 to 48 hours someone’s out, looking at whatever my issue is. However, I wasn’t pleased with my last technician.

    I’ve only had one issue where I’ve had to use America's 1st Choice Home Club. The contractor was slow and they are not in the same city that I’m in. They had the part at their company, but they couldn’t put it in for four days. So, I had to be without my refrigerator for an additional four days after he came out. They were timely coming out, but they were not timely with repairs. Nonetheless, America's 1st Choice Home Club has been very on top of making sure things worked out for me. In fact, I’ve gotten several calls to see if I was satisfied And even when I called them with the concern about the refrigerator and the technicians, they were, “We can change to someone else if you need us to.” So, they’ve been very accommodating.

    I’ve been with AFC Home Club since April 25, 2017 and I have a major complaint against them. Their people on CRAST are the biggest liars in the world. They deny anything that’s covered even though the warranty quite clearly says it is. With the furnace, they said that only the line and electrical connection was covered. I told the girls that the valve and everything was covered, looking at the warranty. So, I called Alexis, talked to her and she straightened things out. CRAST have done that so many times, it is getting pathetic. I have written to Alexis that they need to get rid of these people, because they are annoying me so much that I may leave AFC.

    The pilot was not igniting in the water heater. CRAST said it wasn’t covered because only the tank was covered under the warranty and everything else was not. The parts and labor warranty are one or two years depending upon which water heater you buy. After that, the only warranty you have is on the tank, not the valve nor the igniter. I said it was seven years old and they said they could not legally touch the water heater as long as it’s under warranty. I asked them if for nine years, they cannot touch my water heater. These are the type of lies the CRAST people are telling.

    The contractors have not given us any problems although some of them have come out with exorbitant prices. None of them have lied to me except one guy who came in. I had the problem with the leaky valve in the main water valve, which is inside the garage. The handle was so hard that you couldn’t turn it. So, the valve there was bad. So, he came in and said that he started it off and everything was off. He was such a liar. He saw right at the back of the valve that there is a hose bibb. He turned on the hose bibb, so all the water was leaking out of the garage and he told me that there was no water coming out of the faucets in the house. So, I had to call Alexis again and since I sent it again, the water valve was replaced. But this is a hassle I gotta go through every time. CRAST is the one that’s creating this problem and I shouldn’t call Alexis each time to get the problem resolved.

First of all this guy by the name of "Jason" called my home and explained that they would not be able to cover the unit because I have not had any maintenance done on it.     My experience on the last claim that I made with America's First Choice was horrible. My main refrigerator in the house went down so everything was melting. That was on a Tuesday when we noticed it and called it in, and it took until Friday to finally get a technician out. It took them calling two people and me calling them multiple times, at least three times, to actually get a technician. The first technician supposedly didn't receive the email that they sent and then when he did receive it, he said that he wasn't going out and working for AFC because he wanted $85 and they only allowed $60.

    When a technician came out, he was on the refrigerator for a good 10 to 15 minutes. He said we would need an evaporator and a compressor and that it should be covered under manufacturer warranty as well as under America's First Choice. But it took three days for America's First Choice to actually acknowledge that they received anything from the technician they sent the second time. The whole time, I was asking what was going on.

    They told me that they were waiting for this guy to send something back. Then they told me that if I hear something or if I can get a hold of him, to have him send the stuff to them. So I was running around, trying to get answers for those guys as well. Finally, AFC got the input from the technician and I called them back. I asked what was next, to which they said that they were backing out because it's covered under manufacturer warranty. I asked what about the labor and they said that in the fine print – which you can't see – they don't do labor. They said it would be all on me.

    It took three weeks to actually get the refrigerator repaired and I spent almost $400 to have the manufacturer come out to replace the part. The parts were free but the labor was not free. I'm basically paying $540 for America's First Choice and it still cost me $400 to have my refrigerator fixed. They've also never called me back since. I'm trying to cancel those guys at this point.

    I had a new build and I was up with the two-year manufacturer warranty. I had a couple of AC issues while I was under the manufacturer warranty, so it would be good to purchase one. AFC Home Club’s pricing was a little bit more competitive than others. I usually call when submitting a claim and so far, it has been good other than the fact that they respond slow and they don’t return calls very often. But every time I get somebody on the phone, it has been okay. One of my claims was denied because the AC was under the manufacturer warranty but the manufacturers don’t really touch it. We got a private person to fix it and then, they reimbursed it later. The whole dispatch stuff has been okay and I don’t have any complaints.

    AFC has gone over and beyond but when they're selling the warranty, for everything that they have that they're going to cover, they should first check if it’s under the manufacturer’s warranty or are there any kind of points that would uncover it. In the warranty itself, it would say your HVAC, your fridge, your cooling or heating is covered. Then later, they come up with these clauses. They should do that upfront. If they have to make a home visit to check something, they should, because otherwise, they’re selling something that they’re not standing by.

    The big part that would separate a warranty company from another company is if they can stand by the things that they say they insure without any clauses. If people know about clauses very broadly instead of in hidden material, that will separate them. The people can very effectively decide whether they should go with one company or the other before they actually have an experience. Before they actually have to ever enter a claim, they're very clear on what's covered versus not.

    We always had American Home Shield but Preston, the guy who hooked us up with AFC, made this warranty sound like it was an even better deal but cheaper. He promised us all kinds of stuff. We left American Home Shield and came with AFC, and that's the worst thing we ever did. We're very dissatisfied. We’ll cancel shortly. We’ve even tried to get our money back but they're running us around there.

    At first, it was really difficult to even find anyone to call. So for the first week or two after we had an issue, it was really difficult to try and contact someone. Once we finally did, I’ve tried to make sure I keep phone numbers because I rarely ever get emails from them. Once we get someone, they're normally courteous and nice.     I signed up for your 3 year home warranty 3 years ago. My wife and I have been less than pleased with the experience we've had. The major problems have had with your service is that some of the issues at our house that needed to be repaired over the course of the last 3 years on more than one occasion the vendor you sent to repair the issue (a refrigerator issue and a stove burner issue come to mind) either showed up with the wrong parts and we had to reschedule the repair or did shoddy work and you the had to assign another vendor to do the work thus increasing the time I had to wait for the repair person to show up, do the work and depart (bringing the wrong part and/or poor workmanship is not a good calling card for your organization in my opinion).

    Our 3 years is up on 8 July if my memory serves and we are debating whether it's worth our time and money to renew our contract with your company. If we are to do so we will need some form of assurance that these poor repair results will not be repeated and our time and money will not be wasted. My wife and I welcome the chance to discuss these issues with you should you want to take the time. Our home ph is 484-592-0182.

    This is the 3rd review of a Home Warranty company. We have some rental property and had coverage from American Home Shield. Very poor service. Based on the reviews, we decided to try America's First Choice Home Club on our residence. Big Mistake! Our Wolf stove is 12 years old. The oven would not heat. We called for a service repair. After a few days they sent someone from AZ State Service, LLC. He determined he needed to order a part, which took about a week to arrive. In the meantime we were contacted by America's First Choice Home Club and told they only valued our Wolf stove at $100.00 because of the age. The repair cost was $445.00. So we paid the service fee of $100.00 and were charged $345.00 for the repair.

    When the repair guy came to install the part, luckily my husband had watched YouTube and knew how to install. The technician was going to pull out the stove, however, the part was located in the front of the unit. He finally installed part and it does work. I have called Wolf and asked what they would value our unit and was told it originally cost about $8,000.00 They would value it at about $2500-$3500. I am not sure how America's First Choice Home Club determine the value, but it is not reasonable.

    Why would even have this Home Warranty? Also, when I first joined I spoke to Everett **. He said I would contact him with any problems/questions. After I told him what happened, he had a supervisor call me to explain how they valued our stove at $100.00. I have called Everett back 3 times and he will not return my calls. If you look at the website, you have to search for the Terms of the Contract. I would caution anyone, Buyer Beware! The second worst Home Warranty after American Home Shield!

    Do not sign up for America's 1st Choice Home Club. I filed a claim for a leak in my evaporator coil. They denied the claim because of the lack of maintenance paperwork. Maintenance checks would not have prevented the coil leak. They will use every excuse possible not to pay on a claim. They left me with no coverage on my HVAC system and they will do the same to you. I will not be renewing my coverage or lack thereof with this warranty company.

    Long story short my contractor (D3S service form Tomball, TX) that was supposed to be at my house 6/19/19, called me approx 1300 on 6/19/19, told me they would not be able to show up but would show up next day. That was unexceptionable!! After I off work. I called my rep with AFC and he called me back in approx 15 min. And told me AFC would replace entire unit no charge (over range microwave $400 value) due to the mix up from the contractor.     It hasn’t been great with AFC. They spend most of their time trying to figure ways to get out of paying claims. They’ve paid claims, but I’ve had to fight tooth and nail for it on every level. They have that thing where it says, “Never pay for coverage services again,” but nothing’s covered. They say the water supply is covered if you have a problem. There’ll be a small part on there that needs to be replaced and they say that’s the one thing they don’t cover. I spent hundreds of dollars on top of the $50 a month I spend and then paying for my services. Sometimes, I don’t even call in the claims anymore. I don’t even know why I keep the coverage with them ‘cause very seldom they pay for it.

    They had a guy come to fix my washing machine but he didn't fix it. He just banged at it with a hammer, said he put a new part in there, and then I paid my $50 to him. The same thing happened again like 2 months later. He came in, and they said, “We’re not covering that. You already had it changed.” But he never changed the part. He lied about it. So, now, he wasn’t willing to change the part out because he didn't have a warranty part to replace it with. He wouldn’t offer me any help at all. Finally, I went to buy a brand-new washing machine which they gave me $100 for to help me out. It was just a big struggle the whole time. I’ve had 4 or 5 companies, and I’ve had much less problems with the other ones but the other ones were pulled out of New York State for some reason.

    I had another warranty company that raised the price without notifying and they had a lot of other options that I didn’t agree with, and that’s when I switched to America's 1st Choice. I make the claim over the phone, and then I’m able to use anybody I want, which is a good feature. Because a lot of people that I do use may not be in the service. But whatever the bill is, I go through them. And then my maintenance fee is $60. I do everything over the phone, and then I fax it. It usually takes a couple of weeks before you get a check. So it’s pretty good. There has been a couple of issues, like they didn't cover the ice maker and a part of the pool. But everything else has been really good. It’s been a couple of years now since I signed up with them, and I just did a renewal. So far, so good.

    I did my research and liked the cost of America's 1st Choice as well as what they provided. Their claims process is pretty easy. I call them and customer service is very nice. But when I made a service request for my AC because the wheel thing came off, I wasn’t too pleased with the technician who came. America's 1st Choice helped me with part of that, so that made up for what the technician did. It seemed that the wheel thing was not under my 60 days for the warranty company to cover everything, but they still went ahead and paid the 150 for me because the technician did the work before he even told me what the cost would be out of pocket on my end. That was a year ago. Everything is good so far. We also made a service request for plumbing and that went fine.

    I looked up AFC online and thought it was pretty good. When I talked to the consultant for a couple of days, it looked very promising. I've been with them for 3 years but my experience with them over the years has been horrible. My refrigerator went out a couple of years ago and they had somebody come out. That cost me 60 bucks. They said the compressor was out and I had to fork out, out of my own pocket, to replace it. My microwave went out and it was the same thing. It cost me $300 to replace it. My washing machine went out and it cost me $500 to fix it out of my own pocket.

    They haven’t covered a single one. The worst thing was the air-conditioner. I just had that done in October and it wasn’t completely finished ‘cause that cost a lot of money. They had to replace my central air ‘cause the compressor and everything were just gone. That and the heater in my attic have to coincide with each other. That cost me $12,000. It took them a few months because of my finances. I was inspected and approved in February but insurance sucked. They said they’d reimburse me at least $100 but they didn’t reimburse me a dime. I paid this policy for a few years. It’s $50-some a month. If I would’ve saved that money, I would’ve been able to procure a refrigerator with that 'cause my refrigerator cost me fifteen hundred bucks.

    My dishwasher’s out, but I’m gonna have to wait to save some money to replace that because the insurance is not what it cracks up to be. First Choice is not a very good choice. They’re not good at all. I’ve had to replace so many things here. It’s just ridiculous. That was the straw. I don’t have insurance right now at all because of them. I don’t think I’ll ever get insurance and I’ve had homeowner’s insurance like that for 25, 30 years. There was no help whatsoever after paying all these years of premiums. I do not recommend them.

    The sales associate of America's 1st was the only reason I went with the warranty company. His name is Mike and he was a great guy. He was the rep that called me persistently to have me sign up on the warranty. I love the fact that he was nice enough to follow up on me. I value that. America's 1st is a little bit more responsive. The process was pretty okay. He called me, I gave him the credit card and it was done.

    The claims process, on the other hand, was not good. When I submitted a claim for my dishwasher, a lady named Amanda took all my information then she asked if I wanted to find my own people to come and do the work or if they should find one. Why would I want to go look for one when they are the home warranty? They should be recommending me an electrician and I shouldn’t be looking for one.

    The next day when the people called to come and make an appointment to get the dishwasher fixed, I had to give all the information to their electrician because Amanda forgot to give all the information to them. When I was asked about the unit number the first day, I went to the back of the dishwasher. I was able to read all the unit number, take a picture, and give the number. But when the electrician called me asking for all that information, I was in the office. Nobody was home then. It was really tough for me to get all that information again. That was the part I didn’t like.

    Besides that, I don’t have a problem with America's 1st. The electrician fixed the dishwasher and it should be okay. But the next time something happens to one of the items in the house, when we call, America's 1st should find a vendor, give them the information then everything should be transferred to the vendor. We shouldn’t be giving all the information to the vendor because it has nothing to do with us anymore.

    The company does not actually help you if the unit is under "parts only" warranty. You pay full price for service without them assisting. So this is the deal, not only is the company horrible at responding to calls, they do everything in their power to NOT help the client out with service on broken systems. The AC unit is covered under the service contract, BUT in their horribly long and misleading guidelines they have catches that screw over the consumer. In my instance, the AC unit is not blowing out cold air but the unit was installed 3 months ago.

    Through Goodman, I have a parts warranty for 10 years. Well, as AFC Home Club tells me, "Your request has been denied because you have a manufacturer warranty already in place. It clearly states in our guidelines if there is a manufacturers warranty we have to step out completely." Well then can anyone tell me the point of using them?? My electric company has a much better deal where they actually cover the service and parts if the parts cost!! Why would anyone in their right mind use this service, other than because they were tricked.

    We did our due diligence when we bought our new home with a home inspection and purchased a gold package home warranty for added protection from the unknown. Once it was time to used the warranty we found they had exceptions built into their fine print to get them out of 90% of the common failures on appliances. We used it once for our furnace and were told this new issue we were having was a “pre-existing condition” therefore they wouldn’t help pay for any of the issues. We had a good bill of health from the home inspector and we didn’t notice this issue for 6+ months. How could it be pre-existing?

    Couple months later we had to replace our water heater because it wasn’t heating anymore and had started to leak. Once again they had an exception on covering the tank of the water heater. Again no assistance in helping what we thought this home warranty was suppose to help with. Bait and switch tactics. Show you everything it covers on the website, they take your money and then mail you the paperwork with all the fine print outlining all the exclusions. BUYER BEWARE.

    When we went to purchase our house that we’re living in now, the seller was offering a year of home protection and America's 1st Choice Home Club was the company that was recommended that we use. Then the person who was purchasing our house was asking for a home warranty for a year so we used the same one there as well. We’ve been here two years and we just renewed it for another three years. We’ve been very pleased with their service. The overall claims process is very good. AFC makes it very easy and their plan covers more than some of the others. From speaking with some of our friends, theirs don’t seem to cover as many different things in the home as this program does. So we’ve been very pleased and we plan to keep it. We’ve recommended it to a couple of our friends as well.

    All we do to submit a claim is call the number. They take our information then usually, within a few minutes, we would have an email giving us the information. We’ve had to use AFC a couple of times and every time we’ve called, they’ve been very prompt. They've gotten someone out here right away and they always follow up to make sure that whoever’s gonna be fixing whatever appliance it is has contacted us in a timely manner and followed up. All of the people have been very knowledgeable and helpful. The people that AFC has sent have been very reliable as well. They have fixed what we needed and we haven’t had any problems whatsoever with the things that have been worked on. We’ve just gotten excellent service.

I've been with them for three years and it evolved into normal home warranty companies where you feel they're just trying to rip you off in the end.     Do not waste your money buying a useless warranty with this company. The fan on my dishwasher failed and it isn't on their list of covered items, which is a very short list. Since this is the first claim that I have submitted with them, I told them to cancel my policy and refund my (platinum!) premium. They told me to write a letter to their company and they would prorate the refund amount and charge me an additional $75 for the privilege of cancelling the policy. Not customer friendly at all. I asked the repair technician whether this is typical of home warranty companies and he told me that in his experience, appliances are generally covered in full, and that the fan would have been covered by most other warranty companies.

    I have had very few claims, most of them small. All of them ending up costing me. This one though takes the cake, in Texas I have no AC. During annual servicing it was discovered my main unit was getting no power, so I filed a claim for the AC. Diagnosis determined the small unit was fine but the main unit was getting no power from the Breaker Box. Second claim filed for an Electrician. The electrician was dispatched. He determined three repairs were needed to get power back to my AC Unit. These costs totaled $750, of this AFC paid $250 because these repairs were inside the house. The remainder were outside the house at the AC unit and thus "not covered". Fine, repairs made and paid. Now I am waiting for their check for $250. Invoice sent to AFC as proof of repair and vendor paid. Service Request closed.

    AC provider dispatched, problem diagnosed. Compressor grounded in main unit. AC must be replaced. It is not repairable. Diagnoses provided to AFC. They promise a 24 hour turnaround, the provider could replace unit on Thursday (Have I mentioned this is the week leading up to Memorial Day Weekend in Texas?). Twenty-four hours later, no decision. Friday, the day before the long weekend and it is 93 degrees at 10:30 am, finally I reach someone who informs me they are declining my claim for the following:

    1. There is no proof I did maintenance last year.
    2. There is no proof I did the repairs required last year.

    3. There is no proof I did maintenance this year.

    Let me take this all in, first of all this was all because I was getting annual maintenance this year so that takes care of #3. Now, let's deal with 2 and 3. Last year I thought I was having a problem, turns out I was. I didn't know there was a filter that needed to be replaced up in the attic, thought the one in the office was the only one. When I called AFC they sent out an incompetent and dishonest provider who:

    1. Stated I had a Freon leak requiring repairs.

    2. Replaced the filter backwards causing it to be sucked into the air return and blocking it. This caused a leak in the ceiling and significant damage to my property.

    When I called AFC they said this was my problem. I informed them I would not allow their provider back onto my property, that I would be bring my own provider in and have them review what their provider did, service the AC and determine what was needed. This was done. The cost of service and diagnose was 39.95, the invoice for this was sent to AFC. They acknowledge receipt of this. What was discovered? There was no leak, only the damage caused by the AFC recommended provider.

    It is my understanding, last year AFC was prepared to pay for repairs that were not required. Now they refuse to pay for repair that is necessary. My vendor, was honest, did not look to do repairs that were not required and serviced my units appropriately. Now a 62 year old woman with heart problems is sitting in 90 degree heat with no air because this company has found a way out of their obligations.

    Yes, some of their customer service people are quite nice. They have been taught well to show empathy as they deliver the bad news that they won't be covering your loss, that you have been paying for nothing all this time. Yes, they are quite nice as they cover up that you are out of pocket for the repair and they have to mail you the check despite they have the technology to take your money out of your bank, somehow they don't have the technology to pay you. This is not a company looking to partner with you in a balanced manner. They are there for themselves. Look elsewhere if you are looking for true warranty coverage on those big ticket items that can and do cause real hardship.

    Experience for the past year was ok. Had a refrigerator and stove that were old and broke. Policy only gave me $125 towards a new one, which isn't even close to the cost to replace them. Understand that there is depreciation, but if I had this plan for many year I would have been very dissatisfied with the amount. Especially since I gave them a copy of the inspection report and everything was working at the time I purchased the home. Everyday type things (plumbing, electrical) the policy is good for. I think misleading on bigger items like appliances (if they need to be replaced) and furnace and a/c. Not sure if the policy is worth the cost.

    The vendor that was assigned my claim couldn’t find the Email sent to them and I initially had trouble getting the claim started. Then the work had to be authorized So it took about a week and a half longer than it did with my last insurance company. The company I had before had guidelines and if your claim or job fell within those guidelines it was automatically authorized and I’m not used to waiting an extra three or four days to get that okayed. But the saving grace was the vendor was Ace Pool Service and the employee they sent out was named Todd And he not only fixed my pool he said he didn’t like the way the motor sounded so he did some adjustments in my pool.     I would recommend America's First Choice Home Club. It’s very easy submitting the claims. If there’s not someone in your area, they give you the ability to choose whoever you want, which is another plus. They approved it quickly but I wish the reimbursement was quicker. You pay them upfront and you submit the bills then AFC reimburses you. It takes up to a month and in my case, it did take a month. What makes it a little bit hard to understand is because they have to talk to the technicians to start with and they have to okay the repair. So they’ve already okayed the repair and the amount. I also faxed them the receipt from the person right away. So they’re getting all of this information upfront. I don’t understand why it takes almost a month to be reimbursed. The amount is also lesser, for what you have to pay for a service call, which is in the contract.

    We came from Atlanta and we had another warranty company. There were oodles of providers and we had no problems there. So this is not necessarily the warranty company's fault. It's just the area that we live in. I went with this company because of the pricing and their rating. However, I do wish that even if they have somebody here in the area, they allow you to choose your own repair person. It’s just you have to pay upfront and wait for the reimbursement. On the other hand, from the person who sold the contract to us and the person who helped me with the claim to when I called back to see how soon the check would be coming, everybody was very nice and professional.

    I had another company before and the person they sent drag their stuff across my floors and it was just useless. We also felt like we were kind of trapped to use whoever their vendors were, and we want to be able to decide who we want to use as repair people. Having that option is very important to us. So we left them and started looking for somebody else and found America's 1st Choice.

    The only thing that was a little strange was we dealt with a hot water unit issue just recently. I was out of state when the hot water heater went bad. My boyfriend was at the house, taking care of my pets. He’s in the construction industry and he had one of his plumbers come. Sometimes with units you don’t have a lot of time to wait for a plumber to come out and diagnose and do all of those things. I just called America's 1st after I got back. It was frustrating because between hiring the plumber and the product itself in Home Depot, we only got like a $150 out of it.

    I was a little frustrated with some of the people on the phone. They kept asking, “Is it old unit?” I said, “I don’t know if it’s an old unit.” And then in the meantime, he had taken it. He’s got a huge truck and the unit was taken to one of his job sites to dispose of it. They were kind of going back and forth about, “Well, how old is the unit?” and “Let me get those numbers.” At the end of the day, we still ended up with 150 bucks. And that was a little tedious. But I’m still thankful that we did get something back. It just took awhile for the rebate.

    We got an awful lot of phone calls from people saying, “Hey, we wanna close this up and we were just trying to get the information of the unit, and we’re trying to find the serial numbers and try to verify the age of the unit.” So, that was a little frustrating. But it is what it is and sometimes there are certain things you can wait on, there are certain things you can’t.

    And then the other opportunity we had with them was we had the guts in the toilet go out multiple times, and we went out and replaced everything with our own money. We went a month and a half where we didn’t have a flushing toilet. And I finally called them and I put in a claim and the guys came out. They were fine. They just looked at it and said we need a new toilet. We can’t fix it because the California’s laws have changed with the flow of the toilet,” which was kind of I thought would happen.

    We have three bathrooms and we replaced one toilet in my son’s room, and when they came, they noticed that the two toilets weren’t definitely in code any longer. So, they were awesome and they wrote it up, and sent us a check for $600. It was good that we didn’t get jammed up on a bunch of no-code toilets. I just renewed with America's First and I’d recommend them. It’s also really good that they give people the opportunity to renew for a longer period of time, so you’re not worrying about renewing every year. I’m paying $50-some a month for the renewal right now, which is nice that I don’t have to put down hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

    In the beginning, we had a very good home warranty thing and then, they went out of business. They recommended America’s First Choice Home Club. We didn’t know of any other service so we went with the service that our company suggested. We paid for the three-year warranty because we had no other choice. The first thing we called about was our refrigerator and we had to pay the service man to come here but then, America’s First Choice said they wouldn’t be able to cover any of that. We’re both in our 90's and we thought that the stripping around the door would be obviously covered because we couldn’t put a new stripping around the refrigerator door. In the other company, that was covered but in this warranty, it wasn’t.

    We paid for the top service for three years and I didn’t know how much was gonna be covered. It wasn’t as good as the one we had before. I was disappointed at first and we almost canceled the three-year contract but we kept it anyway. I was dissatisfied with the refrigerator because they should have covered the rubber around the door. That was something that we couldn’t do, so we had to call another service person. I was disappointed with that but they did cover the dryer. The heating went off and they had to turn the heat back on. The technician came in but before he left, he said America’s First Choice may charge more. We haven’t heard from him. We paid him the $60 and then, he was gonna try to get from the company whatever the dryer needed.

    I'm partially disabled and there's a lot of stuff that I can't do on my own. When the warranty with the house was getting ready to expire, I started doing some research. I got on the internet, asked for the five best home warranty companies and AFC Home Club was one of them. They had the best coverage for the buck, so I picked them and it will be my second year now.

    My dishwasher quit working last year and once I submitted my claim, it was more than a month until I got my money back. I got reimbursed for everything, but I didn't care for the way I had to that.     AFC was initially set up when we bought this house two years ago through a realtor. My first contact with them was not satisfactory. They didn't realize there are small communities that don't have access to service people for various appliances. You can't run to a store because Home Depot is not down the road. I tried to explain that to them but they were pretty insistent about me contacting someone to repair my microwave that quit working. That was a little frustrating. Also, when they directed me to find a service person, that was not really acceptable to me. I'm paying them to find a service person and take care of the problem.

    About five days later, I was in contact with AFC and they indicated that they couldn't find anyone where we live which is a rural community up in Northern California. My second interaction with AFC was much more satisfactory and I was pleased with what they came up with as far as a solution.

    I was happy when AFC called for the renewal. They had a good price and it stayed the same. We added some other appliances here that weren't initially on the first warranty. The price went up $30 but that was reasonable because I did some shopping and AFC had the best price. I have somewhat of a history with them too and their representatives were good.

    I wanted a one big comprehensive coverage and AFC Home Club has it. Submitting a claim with them has been great for us, but sometimes it's a bit slow. This last time, my tenant had an emergency with the plumbing. It was overflowing but AFC doesn't do after-hour calls or sometimes it takes up to 48 hours for the request to be processed. It was a bit frustrating. We ended up calling our own plumber and AFC ended up covering that up. Sometimes they let us choose the technicians who'd come out for service. If we don't have anyone in the area, they'll assign us somebody. I've had a hard time communicating with some of them, in which case, we were assigned with another technician. We have done it several times and it worked out good. Everything has been really satisfactory.

    Compared to other providers, AFC had the same offer but at a slightly better price. The warranty I had with AFC Home Club was the most reasonable way to go for what they had to offer. My first experience with them was great. The only thing that I question was I had two issues with plumbing at the same time. One was the toilet and one was the issue with the sink. So, I contacted AFC and three people came up on the computer to choose from, it was my understanding to pick one. So, I picked one and then their people contacted me and said that they were selecting one and I’m like, “Wait a minute, no.” I didn’t get that idea. I’d already contacted somebody.

    The technician that came out was absolutely terrific. He contacted the home people, he got his money right away, which was fantastic to know that the person doing the work isn’t held up for payments for months and/or anything like that. Also, I got like three calls the same day double-checking that he did the work and he was good. I talked to them while he was here and it was just kind of like a little bit of overkill.     When I got the warranty service of America's First Choice Home Club, I switched over from another company that I was using before. Somebody had called me about home warranty, then that sparked me to do some searching online. I tried to find a better deal and found AFC online. The enrollment process with them was easy and quick. So far, my experience with them has been good. Then I went out of town on a weekend and when I came back I noticed that I had a little bit of a leak on my water heater. Due to this, it is industry standard that Home Warranties do not cover cracked heat exchangers since your unit was packaged and had also a freon leak the tech suggested to get a new unit. That cracked heat exchanger affected the coverage we could offer but we still offered a $400.00 goodwill due to the time you have been with us. Per guidelines, no other company offers goodwills on a unit with a non-covered failure but we do understand that it was a frustrating circumstance. We hope to still assist with your residence in the future. I would also be happy to waive your next $60.00 service fee with us, thank you for your time.

    My son and his wife had America's 1st Choice and they were pleased with it so we decided to go with them as well. My husband is handicapped so he is not able to do stuff anymore and it was also another reason that we went with a home warranty. When we called to find out about America's 1st Choice, the gentleman that we talked to was very thorough and pleasant. He explained everything with us.     I had a warranty company before that I didn't like and I didn't plan to renew, so I went online and found the names of five or six companies, and I started investigating them. I had contact with a rep from America's First Choice Home Club and he listened to me. I talked about what was bothering me with my other company and what I did not need in a warranty company. Then, he explained how the AFC Club worked and I felt like if there was a problem, I had someone, at least, I could talk to. whereas with the former warranty company, I couldn't even get a supervisor to call me back.

    I had a dishwasher go out the last time and from the time I called, AFC Club referred me to a company, but the referral got lost in the company's spam mail somehow and it took over a week to get that sorted out. The former company said they wanted to wait a week, so their tech who would be in town doing other work in the same community I'm in could come. However, the problem was he got sick and they canceled out on me twice. Eventually, I said that I wasn't going with them and that I was gonna get somebody on my own. So I looked for a local company in my town and got them involved.

    It was about five to six weeks from start to finish, from the first initial referral all the way to when I got it fixed. When I renewed my contract with the guy at AFC, the rep said that they had changed some policies around, so I could get a referral the same day. I am hoping the next time I put in a referral, I am not gonna have to wait 48 hours even to get the name of somebody that I can try to arrange to have come out.

    Years ago, I had a home warranty program with my manufactured home and I usually could get service personnel in one day. I could get a contractor out the same day I called and I didn't have to wait until something was breaking. I could get somebody to come out and they would do a check-up on the system for me. I live in one town and I work out of town, and my commute is two hours a day. If I there was anything that AFC could change, I would wish that they would consider allowing me to be able to call them and say, "Hey, can I have somebody come out from your list and have them inspect this once a year to make sure?" I have to now provide proof that I've had everything inspected, the big systems inspected according to the contract. I used to be able to just go ahead with my warranty and have those inspections done as a part of the warranty, and I wish it was still available.

    I would absolutely have every system checked once a year, then, that would avoid things going because it is hard when you have to pay double. You are paying for a service call, then if they come out and they don't find anything, that is fine. Five months later, you have a problem, then you have to pay for a service call for them to come out and find out what the problem is, and that is expensive. Other than that, I am fine and I am waiting to see what happens with the next round to see how fast I can get a referral on the books and how fast I can get somebody out.

    The warranty companies and the homeowners can band together to support a system where, instead of being active when something is broken, we can be proactive before things get broken. If the company was really wanting to up their game, that would be something to really seriously consider. I've looked online and it was amazing to me how many people were frustrated because they had to wait weeks to get services done and/or customer service looked like nobody wanted to talk to them. They couldn't even get the help they needed.

    At least, when I called AFC's representative, I didn't get stonewalled and I didn't get told that they couldn't help me. I didn't get a refusal to give me to a supervisor, so I could at least leave a message. They, at one point, transferred it, so I could leave a message with the man with whom I renewed the contract with. On one hand, the last company was horrible. They were absolutely non-responsive. I called on a holiday weekend and they keep banker hours, Monday through Friday. I said, "Well, can you transfer me to a supervisor, so I can at least leave a message and have a callback?" They said, "No, we don't have anybody you could talk to." On the other hand, I've had very courteous service from the staff people when I've called AFC.

    Scammers. I paid for all my services due to fact I was out of town and had tenants in my property and had AC fixed since we couldn’t wait in summer for service request. They approved it prior to buying the units and they received all emails and receipts just to tell me, "Tough luck we didn’t receive them," and Karen gave me her wrong email and now she is telling me they are not going to pay me back!

I requested reply emails from her and she hasn’t sent it and also they are now finally after a year requesting upper management to contact me and if they don't I will have my attorney call them and sue them for misleading and false advertising and unethical business practices!!!! They called me on 3/26, 3/27 & the manager: Jasen, Karen ** said they still wait for the estimate from plumber.     I thought signing up with America's First Choice Home Club would be beneficial to me, but it was not. In November, my boiler broke down. They sent someone out that deemed the boiler could not be fixed. He said that it was not due to any error or anything due to me. First, they told me I still have a warranty on my boiler. Then the warranty wasn't valid. Then they said it was due to water pressure that was why it broke down. They never sent anyone out from the very beginning when I first got the warranty to check or do anything. Then now they're refusing that the boiler is broken. They also said there was nothing they could do to help me and it was due to my error.

    After the report was put in, it had nothing to do with me. So the people that they sent, went again. We fought for weeks over that. They refused to fix the boiler. Even so, some of the reps were nice. However, some are rude. Then they would tell me they'll have someone call me back. This went on for weeks so I just have to wind up paying to get a new boiler. They also have the nerve to call me back at the beginning of this month to renew my contract. They are just gonna take my money and tell me there is nothing they could do for me. Also, they never once said that if I have a warranty, they can't touch my property.

    I've had America's First Choice Home Club for less than a year. While my experience submitting a claim was fine, I had one not so good experience with a customer service rep. I have two properties. When I added the second property, I knew I had to wait 30 days before using it. The AC unit and something that has to go through the heating system had never been checked out. I called to get it checked out and the customer service rep was quite rude. First, she said that I couldn't use it at all because it was a maintenance issue. I told her that's what America's First Choice is for. So, she went through all the taking the claim and then she asked what day I started having problems with the system. I told her that we don't have a problem with the system, that we just purchased a home. The house is like 50 years old and we wanted to have it checked out. I went through the whole process of doing all that.

    The original issue with it is that she said she would have to put a date there and I told her that she could choose a date. I don't have any problem with it. So she put a date in and then she came back and said that I was five days shy of the policy being in effect. And that's what I said to her when I first started the conversation. I told her that I had an add-on property and that I know it's not in effect but I wanna go ahead and set an appointment for the day after the policy is in effect. She said that they can't honor my claim because I'm under the 30-day and that was a mess. I complained to the manager about her unprofessionalism and he just told me to deal him directly.

    While America's First Choice didn't send anybody, I had found someone on my own. And since this add-on property was a rental property, we purchase electric heaters for the tenant so she's been using those until we can get somebody out to actually service the unit. Another problem we're having is that electricians say they do not want to deal with a third-party. And so I have to pay out-of-pocket first and then get it reimbursed by America's First Choice.

    We called AFC when one of our stove top burners would not heat up. A technician from AB APPLIANCE came and diagnosed the problem. We paid the $75 fee and he said he would order the part. He came back a few days later with the part and repaired the problem, however there was an additional charge of $119.69 for the part to be installed. I thought with the $75 fee the part and installation would be covered. We paid a hefty amount ($1445.00) for three years of coverage that we thought included repairs and parts. I guess I was wrong. This was a minor repair. I shudder to think what a major repair would cost us.

    We thought that our furnace was not working properly, so we called AFC and they found us a repair company and they came and explained the whole system to us and that there was no big problem, the furnace was not new when we bought the house so we did not know if the furnace was supposed to make that much noise, the repairman explained that the reason the two fans came on at different time that one was to take out fumes before the actual light came on. He also explained other things we did not know. We plan on calling him should we need any further assistance. We are very happy with our AFC.

    AFC - What an atrocious company. I just mailed out my cancellation letter. AFC happily collected our $520 last year. Unfortunately, we didn't make any service requests or else we could have saved the $520 we paid this year. We had the audacity to make service requests for our tub faucet and washing machine... After paying the $60 service fee for the faucet, we discovered only the first $150 of repairs are covered. Surprising, but fine, it is in the contract. We paid the extra $70 bucks, so we did save $90, by my calculations.

    A month later, the same leak returns to the faucet. AFC sends the plumber back out and he reports back to AFC. AFC refused to cover the repair. It was the exact same leak. Clearly, it wasn't repaired correctly. After speaking with several lower level employees, a manager agreed to cover the first $150 of the re-repair. Why aren't they covering the entire fix if the plumber they selected "guessed" wrong the first time? So, now we have to pay another chunk of change for the "do over" repair and we are in the hole... big time. Unbelievable and ridiculous.

    On to the washer. Paid the $60 service fee. The technician told us the washer is dead, broken, unfixable. The part that broke is not replaceable because it is welded into the washer at the factory. It would cost more to break open the washer, replace the part then weld it back together than it would cost to buy a high-end washer, which ours is not. I had no doubt that AFC would replace it, the part is not repairable, right? Ha ha ha!

    The technician reports back to AFC and AFC refuses to replace or repair the washer because the part is not covered. Huh? If no one EVER repairs that part, why would anyone with a half of brain ever consider covering it? If it breaks then the washer needs to be replaced. Replace it you morons. Why am I giving you money each year? When I went ballistic, in a polite and respectful way, of course, they offered $150 toward a new washer. I told them to use that money for my refund.

    This company is a complete joke and ripoff. AFC is as trustworthy and honorable as the Nixon Administration, and just as incompetent. AFC will collect your money, but the moment they have to pay, they use semantics and illogical maneuvering to avoid it. Save your money and higher your own repair technicians directly.
