    I called a representative, and he came by and he talked to me about American Standard's product. I decided to go with it. I checked on others and I thought theirs was the best. Some of them is cheaper but you don't get the same quality you get with American Standard. I love the tub. Everything works fine. The only thing is the knob to let the air in that makes the bubbles after you turn the jets on could have been raised up a little higher.

    I liked the fact that the installers did the job well and they did it nicely. They tried to make sure that everything fit and matched well. I like the way the tub could open to the out so I can get in easier. It would’ve been nice if it was a little bit easier to climb into but other than that, it's fine. I can sit down and enjoy the shower and I don't have to stand up.

    The tub is smaller than represented. You cannot rest your head on the cushion sitting in the tub unless you are a very short person. The door has to open to get into it and there is too little space. The installation wasn't easy. The salesperson measured and said it would fit if the woodwork was removed. Had to remove the door frame completely and cut into the wall that was tiled. They did put everything back together but the tile is chipped and cracked and is grouted with a different color.

    When all said and done, it doesn't look nice or neat. Had to put a 4" molding along the wall where the tub fit because of broken tile. The shower works but water everywhere even with shower curtain. Not as comfortable or relaxing as one would expect. I would definitely not recommend it. They are expensive. Just as an after thought it might be very difficult to sell a house with a step in tub if you are selling to younger folks (even though salesperson when asked said there would be no problem.) Overall, completely dissatisfied and would never recommend to anyone to get a walk in tub.

    I enjoyed my tub for almost 2 years. BUT, My door gasket came loose, 2 months ago. I ended up with flooding. When I saw it was a gasket leaking, I saw black mold all around gasket at corners. 2 months to get a repair person to my home. First tub/bath experience after repair, gasket came loose in the same spot. I no longer feel safe using the tub for fear of 80 gallon flood in my home. Or trying to bath and watching for leaks.

    The salesperson was knowledgeable and he showed me different companies as well as the price variation between different companies. He also explained to me the benefits of going through American Standard versus others. It was a good experience. The lifetime warranty was a no-brainer and everything is in-house. So if something happens to the walk-in tub, American Standard is the one who would come out to fix it.

    The installation was amazing and the techs were super helpful. I liked the way that they catered to my mom, because this is for my mom who's disabled. With the tech’s experience and expertise, he was able to make sure that the tub was fitted to my mom. He measured it because she's short and he had to cut the tub down a little bit so that she wouldn't have issues getting into it on her own. They were a husband and wife couple and they answered all the questions and gave us information that they felt like we would need, which did come in handy. My mom loves the tub. She was able to get the one that had the most bells and whistles so she was able to get all the Jets, the bars, the shower, the aroma therapy and the lights.

    From what I could read, the quality of American Standard was so much better. I like the way it was made, the fact that I could get one of those and have it installed, and that the company was well established. You wouldn't like some of these fly-by-night things that you're just taking a chance on. The sales rep went through about everything that the tub would do, what its features were, the capacities of the different things, how it was made and the manufacturing process. I'm well pleased with all that.

    The installation took a little longer than I thought it was gonna take as far as getting started, but I can understand the demand on them so that wasn't a big problem. The installation went very well. The guy that came was very professional. He started it, and he was doing a great job. Then he came back and finished up, and he demonstrated everything and how it worked. I love the tub. It's got all the bells and whistles. The only problem I'm having is with the amount of water it's taking, and the hot water tank's not quite big enough. I'm in the process now of changing to a on-demand water system. It's one that'll take care of that and everything else in the house.

    I was having some muscle aches and pains, and the bathroom needed some work. I thought, “They're offering a free toilet. And that might be just the thing.” We started looking into American Standard, and started off and talked to them. The fellow came over, and he presented a good picture. The price was right. I used to be a contractor, so I know a little about costs. That made it easier. The installation was about as perfect as any construction I've ever been on. I know a little bit about perfect projects. They're hard to come by. I'm very happy with the quality. What really pulled me in was the lifetime warranty. I also liked the acrylic form. It's neat. The before picture that it gave me for what it would do for the bathroom was very inviting. The after picture was even better. I’d recommend the company to anybody else that thinks they might need it.

    I was looking at different tubs and then I saw an American Standard ad online. The other ones were all made in China. I went with American Standard and worked with a great in-home sales agent. The installation day got changed around quite a few times. The factory was shut down in Texas. Then they scheduled it. Then the guy called me and said, “Well, I had a job that fell through. The wrong stuff come in. Can we come and do it today?” I said, “Yup. No problem.” So, they came and installed it. They got here about 10:30 in the morning, and they were done by 5:00. Other than the tub takes a while to fill up, it's great. I like that I can get in it. I had a Whirlpool tub and I could get in it but I couldn't get out.

    The salesperson was extremely pleasant and very professional. She brought in a portfolio of information and she was extremely knowledgeable about the brand. She was so great about making sure we knew that the product needed an independent breaker as well. This lady made sure that she had mapped out where the breaker was, that we had space available in the box, and that our water heater was big and new enough to support a tub.

    The guy that did the installation worked alone and he was absolutely first-rate professional. He was so great that I called his boss and said, "You're lucky to have this guy. If you're not careful, somebody is going to hire him away from you." We like our walk-in tub too. We have enjoyed it on more than one occasion.     The salesperson laid everything out for us, gave us some choices, and explained everything perfectly. Then our bathroom gave the installation guy a lot of challenge and he was very professional in navigating it. He did a lot of actual bathroom rehabilitation instead of just installation. He replaced the whole floor, fixed some problems in the shower, and picked some trim that was broken when he got there. The job was supposed to be a day, but because of the defects of our bathroom, it took almost four days. American Standard didn't charge us any more for it, they just plowed through and did the work and it was perfect. I just wish the tub was a little bit taller so that I could get my shoulders under. I like to scrunch down and get the Whirlpool effect on my shoulders. But other than that, I love it. I'd go in sometimes two or three times a day.

    The sales, installation, and quality are good, but we need a splash guard to keep the water in the tub. If one would take a shower and get the water splash over on the thing, the water winds up running down and run on the floor. I already told one guy about it. I'm gonna need to call and talk to him again and make sure what's the status with it. Other than that, the tub made a difference in my mother-in-law. She likes the bubbles, the lights, and all that stuff.

    I've used American Standard's a lot over my whole life and never had any problems with them, so they got a good reputation. The rep answered all our questions.

    There were two guys that came to install the tub - the guy and his son. They were done in record time. I thought it was a couple of day but they were out of here the same day. They were cordial and cleaned up after themselves. It was worth it. We had to change out our water heater. We forgot about that. We had a small water heater. I had them put in a 50-gallon one, so now we can fill the tub all the way up. We have all the updates. The one I like the most is when it massages your feet. It's very refreshing. American Standard is worth a shot. They represent themselves well and we're happy with the product.

    The estimate was higher, but I got to get the best. American Standard forewarned me that the installers were going to come in, had to rip things out in order to put things in. Things got a little dusty. Things are understandable. And they kept me abreast of what they were doing. I have an issue though. Hopefully they come and straighten it out. Everything is working, but the bottom massage jets on the floor are not working. It has been a week now. I'm waiting for someone to come out and fix it. I like the tub and I have no problem with it, but everything has to work.

    When the tub came, it was in a box. All wrapped up nice and neat, peel it all away. The installers found out one of the jets were missing on the bottom. So, “Okay. So I got it here. We can't do anything until we get all of this correct.” That took four days. And then once that came, it was the wrong size. They were too big for where they were supposed to go. When it came in a box already, everything should have been assembled and all they have to do is slide the tub in. I shouldn't wait for parts on a new tub. They did turn it on and let me put my hand in it, but that doesn't put you down on the bottom of the tub unless you sit on the floor.

    The tub has a heater which keeps the water warm. It has jets for my back, which is fine. It has air jets all the way around my waist and ankles, and on my calf in the front and my calf in the back. And the lights work, which is nice and therapeutic. I can get in it, it's paid, and it’s done. I'm free to do what I need to do. And for that price, I should have no problems but I'm having problems. Other than that, I have a hot tub for six but it will be perfect as a one-person enjoyment. I like the convenience and the warmth. I have recommended the tub to my sister because my mom needs one. And I told these people, “Hey, do a good job.” I’m up to $18,000 and I'm gonna recommend it to my mom and a co-worker. American Standard does the very best job for that kind of money.

    American Standard's rep was very nice. The only issue I had was after the fact, we found out something he told us wasn't true, and that was with our hot water tank. We only had a 40-gallon one. He said it would be sufficient, but it wasn’t. We had to invest $3,000 or more into getting a new water heater. Also, we had an issue with the tub after it was installed. Initially, we had a leak, but the installers came back out and took care of it. We like the tub's jets.

    If you want to spend $18,000 on a huge headache buy from them, otherwise avoid like the plague. The regional manager lied to me, the installers damaged our home, and I had to fight to get them to fix it. They tried to install the wrong backsplash because they didn’t have it in stock, then tried to blame me for changing which was clearly in the contract. Then took another week with a torn up bathroom for them to return. Finally got them to fix everything. A month later the drain handle fell off, called them and heard nothing for three weeks. Just called them again and the only response was we will tell the installer again. Please listen. Don’t give them the money, find a company that actually cares about customer service.

    The sales rep from American Standard was very nice and the installers did good. They conferred with my son-in-law when there were any questions about the house. We had an instance where my heater wouldn't work in my kitchen and bathroom so we called them and Amir called us back in a couple of weeks, and he came by. My son-in-law installed a new water heater, which was a bigger one but when the American Standard installers got here, they needed a wire. When they were done wiring, they turned on the old water heater so, I always have hot water but I couldn't have any heat. Amir remembered what they had done so he switched the water heater connections. He got it fixed within 10 minutes.

    I live in a tiny house and the tub fits right in where the bathtub was. It's newer out here in this area because we live in the country so whenever people find out that we were moving the tub out, they were asking questions. I like the walk-in tub very much especially the water swishing around and hitting my back. I also like the spray nozzle that you pull out because I can get to my hair without having to stand up.

    The sales rep laid it all out, showed us what we needed to do and left it open. We had quite a few things to do on the house before we could bring the tub in and it took nine months to get it together. But he was patient and waited for us, and I was happy with his salesmanship. He was a very nice man. American Standard had a good crew of men who did the installation. They were neat and did a good job. The quality of the tub was wonderful. My wife and I are both 70. We bought it looking forward to 10 years down the line when we would need it but it's already a blessing just to get in the tub and run it. It's very soothing and relaxing.

    The installation team was great. They were very polite and worked like busy little bees. I like the jets on the tub especially the ones for the bottom of your feet. We were impressed with the video on how the walk-in tub was made. However, it would be better if American Standard could lower the threshold. The fellows put a hand grabber up for us but when you're 75 years old, 6 inches down to the floor is a long way. I saw that Kohler has a 4-inch entry and that would be better. Still, I would tell friends to get over here and try it. My sister's coming in from Ohio in a couple of weeks and she's dying to try it. They had a hot tub and they got rid of that. I told her that she doesn’t need a hot tub with this.

The day the people came in to install it, they removed the old fixtures and put the tub in. It took them a good hard day. When they left it, the mess was cleaned up and hard to tell they were there, except for the new tub. It has a chair to sit down in, a big shower head, and a removable shower wand. I’m glad I got it.     We scheduled American Standard to come out and talk to us. The young man who came was knowledgeable, pleasant, and polite. The installers were very professional and polite. They worked in a timely manner and finished up sooner than we had expected. The tub that the walk-in tub replaced was triangular-shaped. In order to cover up the tile work and not have to have a tile person come in and do additional work, the installers moved it out further from the wall so it takes up a lot more space than I anticipated, but it's fine. It feels really good to be able to get in and soak in a tub.

    We got the too big a tub for our bathroom the first time. When the peopled tried to install it, they couldn't get it in. The rep did some measurements wrong. Then he finally got us right then. The installers were here for a day and they've done pretty well. I'm satisfied with it. There's just one part I don’t like. Back where they put the cabinet in the back of it doesn't drain the water out of it if the tub had too little movement. Where the water would run off, head back into the tub, it'd be better when you take a shower. But my wife likes it. She said it relaxes her.

    The installers were very fast. It was supposed to be a two-day job and they got it done in less than a day. They were out by 3 o'clock. The salesman said that it would be paint-ready, but it's not what I'd consider to be one. Then the trimming around the door is not really good. But as fast as they put it, and as fast as they got the wiring done, this is to be expected. I'm going to look at it a little bit more, but I may need to go in and just replace some of the trim around the door. However, the tub fits in there very well, it was a good finish.

    My wife can go in the tub and take a bath by herself. I tried to tell her not to unless I'm in the house, but she does, and she seems to get in and out all right, so that's good. I used it one time and nothing's coming out on one of the jets down on the bottom. I've been wanting to call somebody about that. My wife doesn't care about it, but for what we paid for, it ought to work.

    The project manager for the job was extremely nice. The installation was a bit hairy because there was a water leakage but they cleaned it up very well. They worked really hard but they need a little more help making the job look professional. They said they didn't move the toilet but they did to get the tub in the bathroom. You could tell because the caulking around the bottom of it was new. It was kind of a little messy but not enough to make them take it out and do it over again. My sister was happy that she had gotten the walk-in tub and and she did like using it.

    I am one of 50 million Americans with chronic pain and my pain management doctor recommended hydrotherapy, just as the pandemic began. I contacted American Standard and a competitor, unfortunately choosing American Standard because of the advertised functionality of the tub with jets at the wrist to address the carpal tunnel diagnosis. Suffice it to say the salesman misrepresented key points about which I specifically asked (acceptance of health insurance, ability to use Epsom salts, contract, etc.).

    I had the initial estimate in April and my tub, finally installed in October. Began to leak one month later. The repair team, located in Texas, took over a week to dispatch a repair professional and here almost 3 months later my ceiling still hasn’t been repaired from the leak, which was fixed and then they only dispatched a repairperson after I contacted their corporate office. Shoulda, woulda gone with the competition and alas, hindsight... It’s great to have the tub and even though American Standard advertises a lifetime warranty on parts AND labor, it’s not been, for me, as promised. I would LOVE to get my ceiling repaired from the water damage, exhausted from dealing with their stonewalling.

But these two fellows from Serbia who came out to do the installation were excellent.     The sales rep told us that the installation would take one day but the installer did it all by himself and it took two and a half days. But he worked really hard. I wish that somebody was closer or that American Standard could get somebody here sooner.

    The sales rep of American Standard was great. He came in and showed us various tubs at various prices. I showed them where we wanted to put it. He said that that shouldn't be a problem but they'd have somebody come out and take a look at it. Other than that, he was good. He helped us and assisted us in some of the choices that we made, so it was good. The installation was great too. The guys came early in the morning. They were there all day. They cleaned up very well. They were gone by nighttime and just told us to fill the tub up with water and let it sit for 24 hours, which we did. It's a nice tub. The only issue that we've had with this since it's been in was that the caulking on the front of the tub has come loose from the wall backing. They had called me to come to do that, but I was in the process of getting my wife to a doctor's appointment. They haven't called back yet to repair it, but I’ll call.

    The installers had to go off a couple times to get either a piece of molding. They came back the next day. I wouldn't say it was perfect, but it wasn't horrible. They did a great job. The thing we like most about the tub is you can step into it, you don't have to step up. It's not like getting a regular tub. It was very painful for my mother to get into a regular tub, so getting into the walk-in tub where she only have to lift her foot up a couple inches, and then she can sit down. There are many other things that are very nice about it. I like to stand in the shower and let the hot water hit me.

    The American Standard tub is very invigorating. Everything about the tub is what, John, our sales rep, said it was. If my mother used it more, it would help her more. When you get to be 96 years old, you should be able to use as much water as you want. My mother deserves the right to feel as good as she can at her age. I don't care if it's 60 gallons. If it makes her feel better, that's worth it. I think that's what the way it needs to be pitched because it is going to take more water.

    The rep was nice. I wanted to see a tub but he said there was no way to see one, which I didn't agree with. He showed me little pictures. But I should have been able to see it before I bought it. The installers looked at our 40-gallon hot water heater. When they brought the first tub, it was too short. I couldn't even stretch out in it. They said, "Well, we have another one," it's 11 inches longer "and it will fit and everything." So, we assumed that our hot water heater would take care of it. But nobody told us any different that it wouldn't.

    I ran out of hot water before I have it up to pass the upper jets, where it's supposed to be if you want to turn on the jets. So, I heat water in my kettle and carry extra water in so that I have a hot bath. That is a feature I do not like. It's work to take a bath. If we get a 50-gallon hot water heater, then that would probably do it. But I don't know that it would even fit into the spot. Those are things that we should have been told, because I'm not happy with that. Otherwise, the tub is nice and relaxing. I would recommend American Standard to friends, but they have to make sure that they have enough hot water.

    American Standard is a well-known company and they’ve been around for a long time. But I probably paid more than I needed to. The customer service was fine and the installation itself was okay. The only thing was they were supposed to complete any work they had to do in the existing flooring materials. When they installed it, they put the tile back in. There were a couple of cracked pieces that weren't cracked to start with but by the time they were finished, they were cracked. They reinstalled those instead of putting in new ones and I'm not happy with that. A couple of members of my family have used the walk-in bath twice but I don’t personally need It yet. It's good for people that are having problems with moving around and standing up and down but it's complicated for me.

When I had a house built, I thought, "It'd be so nice to have a soaking bathtub." We went to a surplus store and I saw one with the jets and I thought, "Okay, that's the one I want." I told my brother that because he was building our house. It was put in and I never even tried to get in it before. When I did, I realized I'm short. I'm 5'3" and my inseam is 22 inches and the bathtub was taller than that. I had to hold on to the safety bar and then hop over into the tub. I had one bath in it, and after that, it was nothing but showers.

    We've been in this house for 10 years now and over that time, I had a heart attack. I also have sciatica, and I've got neuropathy in my leg, and I have some other health issues. I had a stent put in in 2017 and that helped a lot. Over the years, when you're getting ill, your life gets smaller, but you don't know it. I have AFib too. In early September, I got to go see my cardiologist again because we got onto Medicare. My heart was beating every four seconds at night sometimes and every second and a half in the daytime. That's why I was tired and exhausted and could care less about anything going on. I just had a pacemaker put in, so I'm feeling fine now.

    My mom passed away in July, and she wanted me to get one of these tubs with the money that I got. I called up Kohler and they came out. The guy was very nice and he was telling us this, but he was always criticizing the other companies. They have a low step-in, which would have been nice, but I thought, "I'm also gonna check out American Standard." The guy who came out was nice and as friendly as the other guy. He also didn't criticize the others and he told me about his company's tub. The prices weren't that much different, but I liked some of the features that American Standard had. He was showing us the different samples and he said, "Think about it and give me a call back." With the Kohler guy, there was a special on and we had to do it then.

    My husband and I talked after the guy from American Standard left and I gave him a call the next day and said we'd chosen them. I didn't realize how expensive the tubs were though. We got the basic one and it's $15,880-something, which is a lot of money, but to get all the bells and whistles, you're looking at about 25,000. I have better things to do with my money than to get those jets and colored lights. I also hadn't gotten the money from my mom yet, but American Standard had this thing where it was 0% this and 0% that and then when I get my money, I can pay it off. However, we didn't qualify for that because we don't have a credit card (we save up and use cash), but they had financing.

    Because of COVID and everybody trying to get things done to their house, it took extra time for us to get the tub, but that was fine with us. I'd been without it for a long time. A couple of extra weeks wasn't gonna hurt. It wasn't their fault too. We then got a call from American Standard saying the tub was going to be here Tuesday on such and such a date, and I said, "That's fine. We're not going anyplace." One of the things I was going to do with my mom's money fell through. I called up on Thursday and I asked the rep, "Is it possible to put a quick drain in my tub?" She said she'll check it out, and I got a call back saying, "No problem." When the tub came on Tuesday, it had the quick drain and that bathtub drains in a minute and a half or a little longer. I love the quick drain.

    American Standard worked with us. When our house was built, we had the doors made so a wheelchair could go in and out for the future. It was easier for the people that came out on Tuesday to get the tub into where the bathroom was. They didn't have to take out the frame, just the doors off. People need to be aware that they need to talk with American Standard about that. They also did measurements, so we knew what was coming. If we didn't know about it, we still would have gone ahead with it, but they would have had to have done a lot more work.

    The people that came out to install had to drive an hour here, and then they would have to drive an hour back home. They got quite a bit done when they came and they were going to come back the next day, but they asked if it was okay if they were able to stay here and just finish it that day. It was fine with us, so they were here from 7:00 in the morning till 7:00 at night. They cleaned up everything. They left the bathroom great too. They didn't leave a mess anywhere, and they filled up all the little holes. They were wonderful. Where the showerhead had been, one of the people was able to cut down one of the tiles that I had that's now under the tub. He cut it down to make it look like it was a natural thing up on the wall.

    I love the bathtub. I'm able to sit in there and have my feet and my legs soak in the hot water, and I haven't done that in years. Putting my feet in a little thing that only covers my ankles doesn't quite do it. It's also good for me to not just get a tub that I walk in very easily because it makes me use my leg, and it's not that hard to do it.

    The bathtub is safe as well. I have been washing my hair in either the bathroom or kitchen sink, and I have to put my arms above my head to do that, but I have arthritis in my shoulders. With this bathtub, all I do is lean forward, get the showerhead and spray my hair and wet it down. I just bend my head to my arms and I can shampoo my hair easily and rinse it off. We also got a free bidet toilet. My husband says, "We don't need the bidet toilet," but that's what he likes best. He's 72 years old and he complains about things, but he ends up loving that toilet. He says, "That's the best thing ever."

    We talked to a sales guy and everything was fine. He didn’t force the product on us and I was glad. I just didn’t think the walk-in tub was gonna be quite that spendy. American Standard should also be telling customers to make sure they have enough water heater capacity for that tub. The tub takes quite a bit of water and sometimes, that’s an extra expense. It would be nice to know that. I was able to make something work by turning the heat up on it so I could use more cold water with it. Still, I ordered a bigger water heater.

    I really liked the guys that installed the walk-in tub. They did a good job and they were nice to work with. We use the walk-in tub a couple of times a week. Other than that, we just use the showers. I talk to different people once in a while and I just give them an idea that the walk-in tub is nice to have. If we have any trouble, we have a phone number to contact.

There are two handles, one for hot and one for cold, and then the faucet where the water comes out.     My wife had a hard time getting out of the regular tub and that was one of the main reasons we got the walk-in tub. It cost a lot of money. But safety-wise, it has really improved the conditions in the bathroom. She's able to walk right into the tub and get in and out of it very easily. But their reps could have explained some stuff a little better. My wife has problems with numbers and buttons. She also had a complaint about the booklet because it didn't answer a lot of the questions we had. We'd heard that you couldn’t use regular soap in them to clean yourself up. But I finally called American Standard and we got that answered.

    The guy who installed the walk-in tub did a beautiful job. The workmanship was good. There's a knob on the side that controls the jets on the floor or on your back, and there's a certain position it’s supposed to be in when you're filling up the tub because water gets in those jets. When we first used it, we blew water all over the bathroom. The knob is not marked. It goes about three different positions, open, closed, goes from your feet to your back. That wasn't explained very good, as well.

    American Standard's rep knew what she was talking about. My grandson can't walk so we got the model of walk-in bathtub from them that opens up so he can go from his wheelchair into it. The installers were wonderful. They took their precautions for COVID and were very neat. They protected the floors and did their job. If we had any questions, they answered them. There was a problem with one of the things and they fixed that.

    The only thing we had a question with was that they said there was a heater to keep the tub warm. That's not true. My husband thought the heater would heat the water like a hot tub type thing. But, it warms the tub into how warm the water is. If your water heater doesn't heat much, then the tub is not going to help you heat up the water. American Standard explained that the heater in the tub only heats the water to whatever I put in. The fact that they tell people that the heater is there but doesn't really heat water up needs to be addressed. Other than that, the bathtub is a great product and works great for my grandson. He is enjoying it. He can get in and out and take a bath without me worrying about him falling. That's what we needed and that part of the tub works.

    I've always admired the Japanese tubs that have high standards for cleanliness, health, and bathing, which American Standard is very similar to. Their representative was more active compared to the other major line that I called and never responded for two or three weeks. The service rep came out right away. I met with my sons and myself, and we had one of three bathrooms that would accommodate the type of tub, so that was what we decided on. Then the installers worked with my grandson and did a good job. They came out twice, but they have not come back to finish the safety handrails and a couple of minor scratches. Maybe they didn't know where we wanted the handrails. I need somebody to reach back to the service people to call me about that. But everything seemed to go quite well.

    We're in our 70's and we can't get out of a regular tub. Buying an American Standard tub is a big investment and it was a lot of money for it. The installation team was nice, friendly, clean, and professional. They explained things to me. There's one problem I have with the tub. I'm 5'11 and when I sit down, I have to lean off of the seat in order to cover my shoulders because I can sit in the tub and it just does half of me. I can get it to cover my shoulders but I have to slide down where my rear is off the seat and I lean on my backside.

    The TV commercial showed some lady who must have been short because it looked like she was really enjoying the tub. But, it's not good for a taller person. Also, the last time I used the tub, I don't remember the jets coming on. When I'm in the tub, those jets are supposed to come on and blow the excess water out. The jets have come on in the past but this last time, no.

I see the reviews for the year of 2020 in other states and the work is being done. Why are we having this problem? First the tub came in damaged. Now the installer is sick. They could not honor the initial date 11/6/2020. It’s been two months time wasted. I have another crew to come in to finish what they don’t do and other reconstructions to my home. I’m trying to get things done prior to my surgery, but the cancellations are delaying my health for healing and recovery.

    My son was searching and decided that American Standard was the place to go. The two guys that came out to put it in were really good. They left me alone because of the COVID. The handle cranks down to the left when not using it to keep the door shut securely. I took it to the right to open the door, got in, shut the door, and I didn't crank it so I had water. I didn't know it was going down in the basement. I didn't even have the tub full of water because I was having some problems getting used to it. I was up towards the front and I wasn't collecting water. I had the drain open. I looked down over the tub and the floor was soaked. I got out of there and got a bunch of towels and soaked all that up. Then my son came home and went down to the basement. I had my mom's lift chair down there and it was totally broken.     Kohler came out and they wanted 36,000. American Standard did it for 18,000. It’s probably more expensive than what I like it to be, but it’s not as bad as some of the competitors. I had two guys that installed the tub. They really worked hard and they knew what they were doing. I was very happy with the way they handled everything. There was just a little miscommunication. I thought that the apparatus for the toilet was going into one of my bedrooms, and they put it on the main one instead. Then I have a very thin toilet seat on the one in my bedroom. I was a little disappointed in that. I would like to have a thicker one since I didn't get one that was made for it. That seems to be a problem for me to get up and down. I also lost the manual to it. If there’s any way I could get another one, that would be nice. However, I like that I could get in and sit down, and enjoy taking a bath and washing my hair with the way it is done.

    The features that American Standard offered was a little more than the other brands. But my wife suffers from some aches and I didn't let the cost bother me. That's my baby and what she needs, she's getting. The guys came in and took out the old tub. They did a fantastic job, didn't leave any debris laying around, and explained the features to both of us. However, my wife still had some problems sometimes in there. I couldn't get her to understand the adjustment, to get the wand into the slide bar. But it's all in what you want, and if you want a good product, you got to pay for what you get. If any of my golfing partners talk about getting one, I would definitely recommend American Standard.

    We looked at Safe Step and American Standard's price was a bit better. The installers were nice and they did a great job. But the first time they came out, they brought a little short tub. The guy who sold the tub to me didn't say anything about a short tub and a long tub. But, the installer was nice enough to ask me if I wanted to sit in the short tub and see it or would I rather get the long one. I said I'd rather have the long tub so they took the short one back.

    It took them four weeks to get another one. When they got the other tub out of the trailer, it had broken panels on it as it had been hit by something in the shipping process. So, they had to take that one back again. It was four more weeks before the tub finally got installed. They had to cut a hole in my roof and work around the weather but they did a great job. They fixed the hole in my house. Everything seems to be installed and operating properly. However, the little piece that the installers put between the tub and the wall accumulates water and I have to sponge it up every time I take a shower. American Standard should make an opening on one end and have the water drain back into the tub instead of me taking four minutes standing cold trying to get the water off the side of the tub.

    I'm 84 years old. I've been an architect for probably 50 years and I've known American Standard as a plumbing fixture company for years. I've always trusted them. In the last four years, they had ads in the paper about their new walk-in bathtub and that caught my attention. Their salesperson was fine and he was accurate. I enjoyed watching the installers. Being a retired architect, I understood what they were doing and I appreciated that. The job was well done.

    I tend to keep away a little bit from the tub because I have to time it out. I only have a 40-gallon water heater. I tried to get the builder when he built the house to order a bigger one. But he wouldn't do it. Now, I can't fill the tub up with hot water the way I like it. I have to wait a little bit in there then finish filling it up. It's kind of a pain but that's not American Standard's fault nor was it the guy who sold me the product. I understood there could be a problem. Overall, the walk-in tub is a great product and so far, I like it a lot. But I may have to put a different water heater in here to really enjoy it easily.

    American Standard has top-notch materials and their warranties were good. I wanted to go with someone that I knew was a well-respected company and I'm familiar with the American Standard. The installation took two days because there was a lot that had to be done to remove what was already there. The crew was wonderful and they were very considerate of us because we stayed in the house the entire time. They did a good job. They made suggestions on some things that we could do and showed us how to use the system once it was set up.

    People considering a walk-in tub should understand that the installation may take more than one day. Some people think it's a one day process. But it depends on what the installers have to do to remove what's already there. In our case, they had to take part of the doorframe down to get the tub in because the doorframe was too narrow. Those are things that might happen but it's still well worth it. And when they removed some of the tiles, they were able to save them and rearrange them so that it doesn't really look like they took tiles down. That was was helpful. This was done on both the floor and on the wall. The installers did a good job. I'm staying with my mother right now. We're loving the walk-in tub and it’s been very helpful for both of us. My mom is 90 years old so it was getting difficult for her to get in and out of the tub. But with the walk-in tub, getting in and out of the tub has been very easy. She's very much enjoying it.

    I have some physical ailments and I needed to be able to get in the water to relieve pain. I looked online and looked at several different brands. A walk-in tub was really quite expensive. I got one from American Standard. They have a lifetime warranty. That tub is my 75th birthday present and our Christmas present for this year. In the beginning, I told the gentleman that I had no idea what this cost was going to be. He showed me all these things and they were wonderful. But he wouldn't give me the price until right at the end. And it was a little confusing. It was $23,000. I saw on the ad that you get a toilet and you get $500 off. We didn't take the toilet. But I thought there'd be more discounts since my husband is a disabled vet and we're both seniors. We did get about $500.

    The installation people were excellent. They were clean and very polite. It took three days for them to do the job. They had to remove doors and I was told they would put a new wall and new woodwork up. They went out and they bought a new door. They put that in but I still need to get that door painted. But that is on hold as I just had surgery and I can't have people working in here right now.

    I’ve used the tub four times. I had a complete shoulder replacement. I also had back surgery a year ago and this is still causing me pain. I'm hoping once this heals, I'll be able to get in the tub and relax a little bit more. My husband is a diabetic veteran. It's uncontrollable by medicine even though he takes a lot of medicine. His sugar was way high. I tell him to get in the tub and in the hot water. That tub dropped his number by 50 points right away. The tub with the hot water lowers the blood sugar for a diabetic.

    I did some internet research and I was impressed with American Standard. The rep was wonderful. One of the best people I've ever dealt with in that regard. She was convivial, but she knew her stuff. And too many people we find in sales don't know the products well enough. I was also very impressed withthe people I called, before we got to the actual sales rep, when we started talking turkey. The company, the people that we dealt with, and in sales, were very good.

    The contractor and his team were terrific. They were so professional and expert in what they did. And we're very pleased with the product. Initially, we had a small problem. We called, the tech came back, and it has not been a problem since. They had to recaulk something a little stronger. Very minor, but it was that kind of service. And he was very good at communicating issues. Because any installation, maybe in a new home, it might not be as bad.     I got the American Standard tub because I'm handicapped and because a bidet came with it. I've been thinking of it for more than two years because it's a tremendous expense. And I probably would have to go into a rest home. The installers were very courteous. I wanted it balanced. It was wonderful that they were able to do it. I thought they were going to be here for two days but the gentleman finished in one day, which was a wonderful thing for me.

    However, I've only used the bathtub once. I've been intimidated by it. The gentleman did not give me much in the way of instructions, just how to turn on the lights and stuff. I live alone and I'm handicapped, so it's still a struggle to get in and out. I've only used the bidet once because it's complicated to use. When you need a manual to use the john, and I have no balance, so it's difficult to use. But it worked fine. I ran out of hot water, so I've turned up my hot water.

    More instruction would be helpful. Show me how it works. They showed me about 3:00 in the afternoon. And there was a lot of banging going on all day. I'm not complaining about that. But it is stressful for an old person with four cats. I was very tired with the commotion. I will be 87 in March. And for example, in showing me the bidet, the wrappings are still on the toilet bowl itself, so I never saw the thing squirt. I didn’t know until the caregiver finally showed me. And she got squirted in the face and I said, “Well, what did I not push? I thought I pushed everything.” And she said, “Well, you have to push the massage.” I said, “Massage?”

    And not only that. The instructions on the toilet itself are over on the right-hand side, which they should because I'm right-handed. But I can't read them from the side. I'm half-blind. I can put a sticker on my bathtub or something. I didn't know they were there until a month after I had the thing. The instructions were very poor. That's one thing I would change because they didn't flush the toilet for me with the plastic still in it. It was still in the cellophane. They said, “We can send back your old toilet.” They're all the same size, and the bidet for me is too low. I have a terrible time, getting up and down off of it. And they're all the same size. It's higher than a normal seat. But they advertise that it's 17 inches, or 19. But I have a hell of a time, getting up and down because I have no balance.

    And they were tired too. They worked through lunch hours. The electrician brought them lunch. And a lot of things went wrong. They knocked off the toilet paper holder, and I can't put it back on. And when you're handicapped, that means you have to have someone come in and do it. And my timer on my warm water, I have it timed to come on between 7:00 and 10:00 in the morning. And with the electricity turned off, it's all screwed up.

We couldn't have been more pleased with them. When I first got in, I was a little shocked, because it shows people laying out in it. Ours isn't as big as that. The salesman said that we would be okay. We're both big people. But we have adjusted to that now and have no complaints about it.

    The advertisement I saw about American Standard Walk-in Baths on Facebook is what really got me more interested in it. It was on there quite a bit, so I kept reading. My husband and I talked about it. We decided we really do need one of these. I inquired about it on Facebook and got a lot of information, and then we got a call from somebody that made an appointment to come out and talk to us about it. He was very friendly and even liked our dogs. We have a Schnauzer. We usually put him away when somebody comes over because he's really friendly and some people don't like dogs. But this man, he liked him so much. He explained everything really well and he didn't put pressure on.

    The installers were fine. Those guys worked really hard. They never even stopped. They worked from morning until they got it done. They wanted to get it done in one day. I don't even think that they took time to eat. We offered to go to Subway or someplace and pick up something for them. They had to go all day without food. They said they were fine, and they just worked and worked until they got it in. I couldn't believe that they could work that many hours.

    The person who was in charge explained everything. He wanted to be sure that we really understood everything because to me, it's a little complicated because there's air, bubbles and faucets. He had warned us about the noise that it makes about 20 minutes afterwards. I thought something was really wrong. I'm not really skinny. But I thought, "How am I going to shut the door 'cause it opens in?" But that was not a problem. He had me get in and open and close the door to make sure before they even put it in that it fits and then they did all the measurements. It was a lot of work. They had to take out the other bathtub, and the other toilet, and they did something to the wall.

    They were very nice. I had no problems with the explanations. They were really good. The way he said was, "I'd better explain it to you again if I need to, rather than have you call me in Chicago, so I have to come back and tell you again." He wasn't being rude. He was kind of joking about it because with all these buttons and different things, you got to make sure you're not going to do the wrong thing, especially don't open the door. I had three guys in my house that I don't know, but I didn't feel uncomfortable at all for having them here.

    We show the product to everybody when they come over. I've told people, "If you want to come over and try it out, be my guest. Because if you hurt, and I do, it really does help." My husband's a contractor too, retired, supposedly, but he's still not retired. When he hurts, he comes home and he gets in that tub. When he comes out, he feels so much better. We love it.

    I'm 65 years old and I couldn't get in the tub. I also hate showers. I needed a swing out door instead of the one that goes in and American Standard was the one who offered it. I looked at their knobs and they were good and heavy. I like the product and I got a little size to me. My sales rep, Shawn, as well as my installation guy, Corey, were good.     I heard that American Standard was one of the best out there and everybody's been satisfied with them. Kohler was expensive and didn't really offer as much as American Standard. The only thing Kohler had that I thought American Standard would have been nice to have is the heated seat and back. The American Standard salesman wanted to make us happy. He was very good. He explained everything. I didn't like the price, but that was a good price for this type of tub for my husband. The only thing that my husband still has problems with is getting in and out. The step is still a little high for him. But the installation went good. The installers did a great job.

    The only thing is the salesman didn't realize that we needed two dedicated breakers, and I only had one available. So, they had to get another electrician in here to run a second breaker to the tub, which meant they did conduit outside the house, which was better than going through the basement and tearing up the ceiling. The guys working on it explained what they were doing. There was no mess for me to clean up, which is good. Everything went smoothly that way. It just took a lot longer.

    We're satisfied with the tub. My husband can now take his bath. He was scared to death to get into the shower, afraid that he would fall, and that was one of our big problems. He can't stand for any length of time without getting really tippy. So, that was why we got the tub. He enjoys all of the features on it, the jets and the hydrotherapy and all of the other stuff that's on there. It's a little expensive, but it was a good purchase.

    American Standard got the work done and they followed up on it. My wife and I are pretty spoiled. We have a swim spa. It's 14 feet long, 8 feet wide. We keep the water at 90 degrees. It's got all these jets and stuff that were in the walk-in tub are trivial compared to the ones in the swim spa. We keep it warm. Every morning, we get up and we take that, and then I have a sauna, and then we go take a sauna. Then, at night, we'll get in one of the tubs. Our life is pretty soft.

    I heard about walk-in tubs and then, I wanted one. So, I went online and saw American Standard. I had heard about them with the toilets and I like the stuff they had, which was why I chose them. The sales agent was knowledgeable and the installers were very nice people. The installation was very quick and it was great. There were some scratches on the wall but they said we were supposed to paint over that ourselves, so it's no big problem. Since having the walk-in tub, my skin is different and the bathing experience. We try to use it as often as possible. I got the impression though that the jets would heat the water. But it just keeps the same temperature that the water already was. Right now, we're having a problem with the water capacity. You can't use the walk-in tub and shower in the other bathroom or wash clothes. I may have to get another hot water tank and a bigger hot water heater.

    The sales rep from American Standard was really good and very thorough. He answered all my hard questions as to why I didn't want a walk-in tub. Then, when we were having problems, I called him personally. We paid American Standard off and we were getting bills from a finance company. We called him and he made some phone calls and stopped that one, finally. It took about three times to finally getting that one taken care of.

    The installation was perfect. The contractor, Jonathan, and his helper were very good. He tried to explain to me how to use a bidet. But trying to explain a bidet from a 29-year-old young man to an 80-something lady isn't going to work very well. I would suggest a lady call. I had thought about calling and talking to somebody, but I wouldn't wanna talk to another man.

    I like the walk-in tub a lot. But I don't like being cold and it's cold sitting there, even though it fills up hot pretty rapidly. So I would like to have a heating element thing to warm the seat. The inside of the tub is cold. I have tried filling it as high as I could before I closed the door. And the last time, I poured water on it to try to warm it up but it was cold.

    I have the nicest tub ‘cause my husband insisted. We could have bought a car for one of the kids for the cost of the tub. The tub got a special shower that moves up and down. It also has jets and the power drain. It also has that fragrance thing but it doesn't work that well. I can take it out and change it, but it's supposed to last forever but I can't smell it.

    There is this back piece shown on the commercial with the lady laying back and the bubble. That is a rock and it is so hard. It's awful. I went looking for something that I could use myself and they were not available. Bed Bath and Beyond has them, but they're too long. They would cover the Jets. The lady in the commercial just goes to sleep. But I’m 5’4, and there’s no way I can lay back like that lady. So the assumption on the commercial is that it's longer. I was shocked at how short it is. I can go all the way down now to where I can get it up to my neck if I know how to move.

    I love our American Standard tub very much. The man was here yesterday and installed what he was supposed to do. It takes a little while for the water to fill the tub because it’s a lot of water, but it’s very nice. But that was something that he had said when he finished the job. He said, “In two weeks, I’m gonna order that part. It makes things a little bit faster and heavier.” But he forgot. So, when American Standard called me, I told them about that not being fixed yet. Then he called me right away and said, “I'll be there between 8:00, 9:00.” He did that yesterday. It was a big job, but he did a very nice job. He's really nice and a hard worker.

    I had a stroke eight and a half months ago, and I'm gonna have surgery on my knee. I have problems with my legs to my toes. So then, when the guy from American Standard came out to show us the tub and everything in it, we decided we might as well put it in. I’m very happy with it. I only live about three blocks from what used to be, when I was growing up, the American Radiator Company. That’s part of American Standard. They're top-notch.     I was looking for walk-in tubs and I looked in the internet. I got estimates from American Standard and Kohler, and I went with American Standard because of the price difference. The price that the rep quoted for the tub and everything was the same but we had to do some reconstruction and put it in. It was not enough room so we had to enlarge the bathroom door and then, they had to take out the basin that was there because it came out too much. They had to put in a smaller one that didn't come out as much. So that knocked the price up. The quoted price was about $800 and when the guys came in to put it in, it was 1,400. It may not have needed more work but it was too cramped in that bathroom if that sink and everything was left like it was.

    The tub was put in in September and everything was fine. At the end of October, it got cold in here and so, I went to turn on my heater, and it didn’t work. So, they put a new thermostat but it was not working because I turned it on and it did nothing. So, I called the reps and they came back. The guy came and looked at the thermostat. He flipped some switches in the breaker box. I asked him what the problem was and he said that he didn’t know but he was gonna talk to his supervisor, and the supervisor was gonna contact me. He contacted me and said that it was probably my fault. But it was working before they did that.

    I called American Standard. I was told to go to a heating specialist so I called AD Plumbing & Heating. They were supposed to come out today but they didn't because they were running behind. So they’re gonna come out tomorrow to see what's wrong with the heater and give me a report. And if it's anything to do with that thermostat that they messed around with, then the guy told me to send it back to him and he would pay for it. But if it's the thermostat, they would replace it and if everything works, that's fine. If it’s more than that, I want them to pay for everything because that was working before.

    American Standard should have been more polite in working with me with this heater thing because it took them over a week to come out and look at that. The guy said he would send someone out and then days passed by and I contacted him again. But he did send someone out. The tub was fine and I love it. I will get the door to swing out instead of swinging in though. But that was my fault. I agreed to that. They did a good job and the bathroom looks good although it’s not painted.

The price could be improved but there’s a lot that goes into them. It'd be better for young people to go ahead and do it, if they thought they're gonna stay, because it's guaranteed for life. If anything goes wrong, American Standard will come and fix it. I like to sit down and take a shower on the walk-in tub. I haven't filled it up but one time. It takes about 20 something minutes to fill up, sometimes, 30 because of the old pipes. But it drains in about two and a half so it's alright. You just sit down and play while it’s filling up. It's like a hot tub in your backyard except it's in the house.

    I lost a leg in an auto accident and could not get in a conventional bathtub. It was too dangerous for me. I was researching the Whirlpool tubs and looked at two different websites. I decided that I would start by having the representative come and tell us about the product. I then did a further comparison and decided that American Standard was the one for me. The sales guy was wonderful and very informative. I have a background in sales and I felt that he was an excellent presenter.

    There were some issues during the installation because when our house and electric service were assessed, the people who looked in the box thought that there was enough room to add circuits. But they miscalculated it. When the installers came out to install the tub, they looked in the box and found that a master electrician had to approve the additional circuits. That held up the installation for a little over two weeks.

    And then the people didn't really communicate very well so I had to chase the company and tell them what was going on. After we got it resolved, it became clear that in Colorado, there are a lot of issues related to electric codes that they have to work around. Also, we found out that American Standard hire independent installer companies to get the work done. The company working on our installation had a truck break down. It was a little frustrating because although they were working on the walk-in tub, they weren't communicating as well as they should. It was a little bit of trouble because we had to tear the house apart to get entry, which was done the first time. It stayed apart for three weeks and it was a little bit inconvenient. But the work finally got finished and it was very good quality-wise.

    We enjoy the walk-in tub. With this, I can choose simply to shower, do a half tub process with some of the jets, or a full tub process. According to my schedule and needs, I can choose that. That's the best feature. The major function for me that's wonderful is the access to the tub. As I started looking into American Standard products, I saw their new filtered kitchen faucet and I purchased it. I also got the toilet. I'm very pleased.

    Several companies offered walk-in tubs and I was seriously considering it. I'm getting on in years and houseguests I have would be around the same age. The price is somewhat expensive, about what you might pay for a used car. The rep offered that supposedly free bonus of a right to size toilet. I had already added seat risers myself several years before, but the toilet up about three and a half inches. So, I just declined and then they lowered the price by $500. The people were knowledgeable and they did a good job with the installation. I had to do a tiny bit of cleaning up after them, but not too much. It took a little bit of getting used to when I'd step out to grab hold of the safety bars, I stepped down. I still use the shower portion.

    The sales rep from American Standard explained the price and the features of the walk-in tub. And the installation team explained to me what they were doing and how it works. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Usually, people stand up when they take a shower, but you can sit down in the tub. It cleans me up like it was supposed to do. But when the water comes out of the nozzle into the tub, they should have made the nozzle with a swivel instead of staying stationary. You should be able to swivel that at 10 degrees when the water is coming out where you can move the water to the left or to the right. Everything else is good.

    I had always been interested in a walk-in massage tub and when I retired, I decided to get serious about looking into getting one. I started researching tubs and shower systems and I recognized the American Standard brand name. I found that other brands didn't have as many water and air jets. American Standard had a very good lifetime warrantee on parts AND labor. Naturally, I was a bit surprised at how massage tubs cost, but when I thought about it, a walk-in tub really is just another major appliance like a furnace or an AC unit. When I thought about the cost of having one split up over many years, I realized it was probably well worth it.

    I had a salesman come over and Don showed me what the tub looked like, available Models and options and the features they had. He explained the price and what discounts were being offered. Since I didn't need the free toilet that was being offered at the time, I got an extra $500 off the price in addition to a senior discount, for a total of $1,500 in discounts. No rebates, just money off the bottom line. When I said I wanted one, he took measurements and we agreed on exactly which model I would order. I wrote a check for 10% of the cost. No hidden taxes - they were included in the price, and there were no extra fees. Don said that they'd call me to schedule an installation date. Which turned out to be about a month out.

    The installer, Phil, called to arrange the exact time and date. Phil and his crew showed up right on time. Phil explained what exactly they would do and the time schedule to get it installed and when I could expect to take a bath. Gary the electrician went down to the electrical panel to run the new wiring and Paul the plumber and Phil did the demolition needed to put my new tub in. The next day they installed it and Phil filled up the tub and showed me exactly how it all worked - pretty darn easy, and Phil left me a book explaining it all and a number to call if I needed any help. The crew was efficient and wore masks to maintain Covid-19 safety for us all. They cleaned up after themselves and did a neat, professional looking job. Their workmanship was very good and they kept me updated as the work progressed.

    I wrote a check for the balance due, and Phil and the fellas left with my thanks. After the caulk fried for 24 hours, I took a bath and I've only had to call with two questions! At the end of my rejuvenating bath, I soap up and I use the shower head to rinse off with. I did install a shower curtain but as it turned out I didn't need to. I can use the shower head and not spray the rest of the bathroom just fine. The curtain does provide for privacy if needed though, so maybe that was a good call. I'm very happy with my tub and have shared it with a couple of friends who both loved it.

    I was surprised to find out that my electric bill didn't go up, and neither did my gas or water bill. The tub apparently uses about the same amount of utilities as my old tub and shower did. Although I was able to pay for the tub in full (thanks to my hard work and thrift over the years) They did have very reasonable financing available - it was a bit less than my Credit union would have charged. I just wish I had done it earlier in life! I'd urge people to look into it, check the other brands and prices and see what you think.

    In the early part of '18, I had an accident and I was in the hospital for five months. When I got out, I was in need of a better way to take a bath than my standard tub. I came across ads on walk-in tubs and I started asking some questions. Slowly but surely, American Standard floated to the top and I went with them. My experience with American Standard has been excellent from the start. They did me a favor because the tub we agreed on wasn't big enough. With no extra charge, they switched to a larger tub and I was able to fit in that comfortably. Their techs did what they said they were gonna do. They had to fight to get my tub in by cutting a hole in my wall but they did and I've enjoyed it ever since. My wall looks great since I've had it repainted and it looks like there was never a hole there.

    We have a granddaughter that comes over to our place and she loves frolicking in our American Standard tub and changing the colors. One day, she called me and she had bubbles up over her head. That was the kind of fun I was hoping would be had by my American Standard as well as therapeutic effects and safety for me. The American Standard tub has given me a chance to get into it and sit down. I couldn't tell anybody to go anywhere else.

    Cindy, the sales rep from American Standard, was dynamic. The work was awesome but when the installer put the stuff that goes around the wall, he could have gone all the way to the top and all the way around. It could be a little bit better. Other than that, I'm happy with my tub. I'm trying to get my bathroom fixed up some more, and my carpenter used the drill or was hammering and all of a sudden, my jets came on. It should not do that. There has been a little change in my daily lifestyle since having the walk-in tub although I don’t use it that much.

    I liked American Standard’s reputation. The sales rep was excellent as well as the installation crew. I had a few issues when they first started because I'm a big guy. I'm 6'6 and they delivered a regular sized tub. When I got in there, I couldn't move my feet forward so they had to postpone the installation and order me the larger tub. The larger tub came about two and a half weeks later. They should have known that I wouldn't fit in the regular size tub because I'm a tall guy, especially American Standard. The center officer in Texas kept calling up.

    When I first called them, they set up an appointment and then, they called me back and said they couldn't keep the appointment. They set me up another appointment and then, they called back and said that they couldn't keep that one. Then, they called up the last minute. The business should have been conducted on a Monday to Friday, and they called up Sunday, which I didn't mind, but it's not very professional.

    I ordered the bidet toilet and the toilet is nice but when I sit there, I look like a giraffe. The toilet seat is small and more like for a petite woman. Also, when they installed the toilet, the guy didn't have all the American Standard parts. He had to run out and he put aftermarket parts inside, which is a no-no. Because if I ever have a problem down the road and I call them up, they’ll say they didn't put this in. This isn't American Standard. So right now, I have an aftermarket flushing mechanism in there. The toilet could flush a little longer.

    I'm satisfied with the installation of the tub except a piece of the stainless steel on the door looks like it fell off the door and it was glued on there. That's how they received it from Texas. So, I'm not satisfied with that and the door on the tub needs to be replaced. American Standard also never set the appointment up with the building inspector to have the system okayed. I understood from the building inspector that I should have never paid American Standard until the inspection was completed. So they got paid but my inspection isn't completed. I might have a potential customer who wants the walk-in tub installed and I won't do anything until this is resolved.

    Tub started have control problem within three week of installation. Called a number of time. American Standard person said try This try that. After a number of calls, I called American standard again. This time person said will send out repair parts and when they arrived call them. One week later parts arrived. I called American standard. They said repair man will call and set a date to repair. He didn’t call. O it’s warranty but you may wait a lifetime for repair.

    I was having a really hard time lifting my leg over the bathtub to get in the tub and I love to soak. I called the number on the screen and this young man came. He was delightful. He wasn't pushy. He was so, so nice, and he explained all about the tub. I signed and paid for it right then and there with my credit card. Then a man came and he decided that the pipes weren't quite right. It was something with the electric that wouldn't work. So he said it was gonna have to take a little more time than they thought. He thought they'd get it in in a couple of hours, but they had to have an electrician come in first and put new cords in over the ceiling. He did it very efficiently. It only took 20 minutes. Then the other crew came and they were so nice. They put the tub in there so slick and nice.

    The first time I used tub, I hated it because before you get in, you have to have everything that you can reach because you can't open the door. So you have to have your towels handy and you have to put everything you want right next to you. Otherwise, you gotta wait till it drains and get cold. But I love my bathtub. It is the best thing I ever bought. I take a bath every morning now. My girlfriend is almost six feet and when she got in the tub, she couldn't straighten her legs and she was so miserable. But I'm 5'2" and it's wonderful for me.

    I was looking for a tub and American Standard sounded like they had more jets, both to water and air. It also sounded like it would fit in my bathroom. They were very good, professional, and convenient. No big drama occurred, so I was very happy with it. I had had a question on how to adjust the speed of my water jets but I couldn't find that in any of the booklets or information I had, so I called up and somebody was able to figure out what I was talking about and told me how to fix it. But American Standard should have a series of videos on the questions that they have gotten on the phone. They could put the videos on the American Standard website, which was totally not helpful when I was trying to find information on how the tub works or anything about the tub. I feel very good using the tub. I have had some family and friends try it and they loved it.

    American Standard's rep was nicer than other tub reps and he presented their product very well. Their installer never came back though after they painted the tub to see how the paint dried. He said he was gonna come back to make sure the pain dried okay. Other than that, they did a very good job and the paint dried fine. The tub I got is little short for me to get in. Still, it's a nice tub and it couldn't be any bigger or longer than what it is. Their team already had to take the framing off my door in order to get the tub where it is supposed to be. The tub has a seat warmer, back jets, foot jets and things for aromatherapy. I also like the shower as it's alright for me to stand in the tub.

    One Sunday afternoon, mom and I were sitting outside and she said she would like to have a walk-in tub. I picked up my phone, typed in walk-in tub and American Standard came up. I called them and I talked to somebody that night. The next day, a representative was at my door, and she told me they would be out in two to three weeks. But they were out the next week. The gentlemen that came to my house were clean. Joe and Donnie were nice and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. They were there exactly on time.

    They said the installation would take three days but it took two and a half. I did something stupid and I had to call them. I accidentally hit a breaker, and I didn't know what breaker I had hit. They came over and fixed it. They were absolutely wonderful. My mother is 90, so it was kind of necessary to get something that she could get in and out of better. She loves the walk-in tub.     I've seen the different styles and the different makers of walk-in baths. I was online and I clicked on the one I saw and it happened to be American Standard. They came out and talked to me, and we went from there. One thing that I really liked about their sales rep is when he came, he showed me his samples. I told him, "I don't need it now. But in the future, I've always thought that that's something I would like." I just bought this new home. When they did come to put the tub in a couple weeks later, they had to cut out a brand-new tub. I said to myself, “I'm gonna want this for five or six or seven years, and then I'm gonna go ahead and get one and wish that I had gotten it five or six years earlier.” I'm already old. I'm 72 and I thought, “Might as well enjoy it while I don't have to have it.”

    When they came, they had to take part of the door frame down to get it around the corner and into the tub, into the bathroom. Where they put it back up, they filled it with putty and nailed and put it all back up and painted it. But they had to come the next day and sand it down and do it again. They did a wonderful job. I was so pleased. They said it might take two or three days for the installation of it. When the guys came, they were almost done towards the end of the first day. It wasn't even late into the first day.

    I've used it about four times because I shower every day. I'll set my TV up in the bathroom and plug it in so I can watch it while I'm in the tub. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the fact you have to get in there, close the door, and then fill it up with water. Now, my water pressure is good. It's city water, and it's under good pressure. It seems like you sit there for quite a while. But once it's full, they can't make the water pressure coming into my house anymore. It fills as fast as it can fill.

    I like that it's got the heater when I've got the jets on, and the heater is keeping the water warm as well. I like the quick drain. It's easy to clean. Just put a little bit of spray in there and then step inside to wipe it all down. My granddaughter's come over, and she's used it. She's 15, and she likes it. A friend of mine from over in Holly, Michigan spent a couple of nights here a couple weeks ago. She had some doctor's appointments in this area, so she came and spent a couple nights with me and she used it. She didn't use the tub part of it, but she closed the door and used the hand shower part of it. She loves it. She said she's gonna tell her long-time boyfriend who she lives with to get one too because they have two and a half baths. They might get one. I told her, "There's different kinds, so when you're ready, you call me back and I'll give you the brand. It's American Standard."

    The guy that came and talked to me first and then the two guys that came and put it in, they told me that they work independently and they put all the different kinds in for different people. American Standard is their most favorite one to put in because it's so well-made. If they start thinking about changing any part of it, they need to talk to the guys that are putting it in and see what they need to change if they need to change it because they're very pleased with the American Standard.

    I did not need a tub as such, but I thought, “Well, go ahead and get it.” I did a little research online, and American Standard is a name that I'm familiar with. All of them are about the same price. I thought, “How much difference can they be?” So, I went with the brand name that I was familiar with. The guys were good on the installation. Customer service was great beforehand, and they communicated very well. But I had put a call-in since I've had the tub and I could not get a satisfaction with that. I went ahead and got the big door because before my husband died, he would have needed this. When I built this house, I built a big walk-in bathroom for him, so his wheelchair would go in.

    The installer showed me the door that opened to the out and came in, and then shut. It has a lever on it. The lever is too hard for me to close. Therefore, I have not really been able to use my tub since I've had it. Also, I had paid for the headrest. I didn't get that either, and it's on my form and on my contract. Now, they have their money, but then I'm still not able to use this tub. I told them about it. It seemed like to me they could solve this problem for me. This is not a cheap tub. Some people don't pay what I paid for the tub unless on a car. So, I am unhappy with it only because of that. I believe in American Standard, but I'm not happy with this situation because they had to tighten it to make sure the seal took. By it opening from the inside out, therefore, the pressure of the water is gonna help seal that.

    When they installed it and they checked it out, I watched them do everything. They called me in to look. They had already tightened the lever so it would seal it, but it's too much for me to seal it. If I did seal it, I'm afraid that I won't be able to unseal it to pull back on it again. So, it's no good to me. I have not been able to use it. Before, I would not complain about it because I felt sure that they would do something about it. But they told me to put WD-40 on it. Give me a break. I didn't really need the tub when I bought it, but it had been on my mind, so, I did. I would like to still be able to use it since I have paid for it. It was over $17,000 I spent on this bathtub that I can't even use. This is ridiculous.

    When I showed a discounted coupon to American Standard's salesperson, he said, "That's not even our company. However, we will honor that." I thought that was kinda interesting. The weird thing is how I wound up getting to American Standard if what I thought I did was call the phone number on that ad, which would've been to a competitor. Other than that, the length of the warranty on the equipment was very crucial in my decision. American Standard's salesperson made a very good case for American Standard's products. In the long-run, this was a big financial commitment. But if I'm gonna go this route and the other companies are in the ballpark but don't have the same length of time for the warranty, I'll go with American Standard.

    The installers were wonderful. They were in New York State. They came out of Ohio. If I ever had any future stuff to be installed that involved either plumbing or some electrical too, but mostly the plumbing, I definitely would have picked them again. They were so good working with me because to put the tub into the bathroom, they had to take out a cabinet, and while that was out, my son said, "With doing this renovation, what do you think about replacing the sink and cabinet?" So, we did that. Because they were gonna have to re-install the cabinet and the sink anyway, they just did it all with newly purchased plumbing, and that was not a big deal. Although there were some things like I missed some parts that they needed and had to make another trip. It added probably a little bit of time to their install, but there was never a complaint. It was all very professionally handled that it was not a big deal.

    My son's girlfriend had knee surgery earlier this summer. And by the time it was installed, shortly thereafter, she was able to actually fully immerse her knee. It came in real handy and she's definitely gotten the most enjoyment out of it. I have to admit the times I've gone into it, I've enjoyed it.     American Standard had a lifetime warranty on the tub and that was the route we wanted to go. The sales rep was great. She explained all the features of the tub but what I thought I was getting was not actually what I got. Their ads show that a person can sit there and lay down in the tub and have the headrest, but that's not accurate. You can't do that. I have to scrunch down and almost off the seat in order to be able to put my head on the headrest. It's not a comfortable situation. There also needs to be a few more jets because you cannot feel the jets in a lot of cases.

    The contractors did good quality work. However, it took multiple times in order to get everything done. We had a problem when they did the install, so they couldn't do the inspections right away. They had to wait. It was two other days when I had to make sure I was home in order to be able to do the inspections. But as far as the contractors, they were fine. They had me sit in it to make sure I could fit in it.

    The American Standard representative was very straightforward and friendly and their installers were very good. The installers took the tub out of the truck outside. They also had my sister go in the tub and they went over some features with her and made sure everything was okay. I purchased that tub for my sister's benefit because of a back injury. She has some leg cramps a lot from the spinal injury. She likes the walk-in tub and it has helped her a lot. Overall, American Standard is probably not the cheapest around. But they did offer whatever they could, as far as a discount, and it was a free toilet. People should try to take advantage of any promotions that they have going.

    I decided I wanted a walk-in tub for safety. I found an ad of American Standard and called it. I wanted to find out how much it was gonna cost us because nothing I could find would tell me. The rep finally gave me some pretty fair indications. I said, "That's livable. So let's talk about it." The installation team was polite, efficient and thorough. They did a fine job. I like the tub. It's very pleasant. Plus, it serves the purpose that caused me to want one, and that being safety. I'm 81 years old. I don't get around well very much. I'm scared to death of falling and breaking something again. So that took care of that worry. The only thing I didn't like about it was it was so expensive. But otherwise, everything was great.

    The crew that put the tub in was a young boy and woman, and they were terrific. They said what time they were coming and everything was on time. They didn't have to tile my wall because the way they put it in, the tile was there. They didn't have to do any work in the back of the tub because the tile was there. But they put the tub in, they wiped up my bathroom floor and they put a toilet in. It's an electric toilet and it is wonderful.

    They did the installation in no time. They cleaned everything up. It was spotless. I was so happy. The tub looks pretty in the bathroom. I called and told them I had trouble with the handle and they sent that same crew back to me. He put some Vaseline and it lasted from the time he was here. It was no good. I used the tub one time. I have arthritis is in my hand so bad that I'm not setting it tight enough. So I'm afraid to use it. The young lady who I was speaking to said she was gonna turn it in, which she did. They called and they said that they would send me another handle. I got the handle. Now, I'm waiting two weeks now for somebody to call me to tell me they're gonna put it on. I really need them to put this handle on for me so I can get in and be happy.

    When American Standard told me they were gonna send me a new handle and send someone to put it on, I was thrilled. The reason I got this tub was my legs and feet are killing me and I really need to sit and let them massage. But I haven't been able to do it yet. Now, every call that comes through, I'm answering the phone thinking that maybe it would be the repair guy. I wish they would call so that I won't have to answer this phone so I know who's calling me. I've been paying them for five months and they get their money on time but I have not used it.

    The installer did a good job. He came with his wife and they worked all day into the night to complete it. They were excellent. If I ever had anything that had to be done, I would want them to come and do it. He took my railing off and he fixed everything. Anything they took, they replaced it and put it up for me. I like the way the walk-in tub looks in the bathroom. It's very convenient getting in and out of it. You press the button, the jets come on, the hose is right there, and the grab-out. There's a lot of grab bars. I like how they had to do it with whatever the size was. There's a shelf in the back of it, which is neat. You can put stuff there to use for your shower in the front of this too. It's very convenient.

    I used to have Safe Step at the other house, but American Standard is much better. I heard about it and I said, "American? That's the one I want." The two guys who came out and put it in were wonderful. They are the politest, cleanest guys I've ever known and if I needed something else, I would like for those two to come back. Everything was great. The tub is nice, and we all love to get in it. I like all of the features. We always take showers, but we're taking more baths.

    I couldn't get my wife in and out of the tub anymore. The American Standard reps were very good. The installer was too, but he got upset because we moved all what the salesperson told us we needed to move. My wife didn't even know that stuff moved. And then, the installer showed up. We're seniors, and for him to get in the attic, he had to move a refrigerator, which he didn't like. And then, he threw it back and messed everything up. Everything fell behind it. I had to get my son-in-law to come in and pull it out so we could get everything hooked up back up right. And then, there was a big mix-up about the wall. But they took care of that.

    I couldn't figure out how to adjust the jets. They told me how to do it. Because the way the book says to do it isn’t the way they said to do it. But that worked. And then, one time, I didn't have a jet working and they talked me through getting that going. And then, they said somebody would call me from the local around here to come and make an appointment to fix the light. I called about a week ago. We can use the tub. It’s just the lights don’t work. Other than that, the tub is well worth it. The convenience of it is with my wife. It helps her with her neuropathy, and she has breast cancer and coronary heart failure. We’re just lucky to have her here. I can get her in, wash her hair, and everything’s safer.

    Due to our age, we decided that when we needed to replace our tub, we might as well replace it with a walk-in. The American Standard rep was nice.     I have two knee replacements, a hip replacement, and I have arthritis up and down my spine and a herniated disc. I used to go to a spa and the Coronavirus stopped all that. I thought we would get a spa tub outside, but then my husband said that he didn't want anybody else in that with the Coronavirus. He measured everything and he was spot-on with everything. Everything fit. When the guys came to put it in, they were so efficient. There isn't one mark on our walls. It was done so perfectly. They were really neat and did a fantastic job. We were very happy with the whole set-up. I just love it.

    We had a problem at first 'cause we didn’t understand how to turn on the back jets and the guy was here the next day. We misunderstood when he was giving us the instructions. I have to wait till it's up to that level, and then turn on the special knob, and that turns on the back jets. So, all jets work and they got us a wonderful shower curtain that fits perfectly. It's a really wonderful appliance that we got in our house and I’m very grateful. I’m 75 years old and I needed this to be pain-free. This is very helpful for me to be able to go into the hydrotherapy and I'm able to have some relief of pain with it. I can walk better when I do it. I am grateful that my husband was so kind to do this for me 'cause he loves me. I would recommend American Standard to a friend and to the family too.

    My wife has a spine disorder and it makes it difficult for her to get in and out of a regular tub. American Standard walk-in tubs had the best reviews and we had been familiar with the brand. Their salesperson was very good. She showed us all the options and worked with us to get the financing going. Then the fellows came out and took out the old tub. They also had to remove quite a bit of old tile and then they put the new one in. It was a flawless installation. The tub works beautifully and the design is pretty great. The shower wand is great for washing your hair and rinsing off and we really love the jacuzzi jets. If people are planning to make a purchase, just make sure that you've got the space for it. But it takes up a lot less room than I actually thought it would.

    I've wanted a walk-in tub for years. It's the first time I owned a home where I can put one in. I always had rentals. American Standard advertised all over the place. You look at the competitor's product, there's no way. Even looking at American Standards's tub, you can tell it's a lot better made and somebody put a lot more thought into what they were doing. The installers were great. They had good sense of humor. I had a great time. It's helpful that I'm able to get in and out and do everything myself. It's relaxing and just everything is great. The tub is just bigger and broader than I thought it would be. The installers had to make the door bigger to get it in, so they took care of that for me too. It's all-American made, but it's more costly. I could buy a nice car for 18,000. But no matter what you grab onto, you're safe. There's nothing flimsy.

    I called the American Standard and Safe Step. The lady from American Standard came right on over here and talked to me, then she told me some really good things. And I just had to go ahead and get it. It's a good thing I did because that other company never even contacted me at all. They did all this advertising, but didn't seem to want any business.

    On installation day, the guys were here when they said they would be here and they did a fantastic job. They worked their butts off and got it done. They cleaned up their mess and I was really impressed with the way they did things. They were nice as they could be and one of them even told me that he’d try not to wake me up since I kept dozing off at the time. So far, I like everything about my tub. The jets hit all the right spots and the lights are fascinating. But I found out that you do not put bubble bath in there if you're going to use the jets. I did that one time and it was up to my chin and running over in the floor. It was just a dab in my hand and I thought it was just a little bit. But it wasn't.
