Our sales rep was very pleasant and she took the time necessary to inform us and for us to make a decision. It is a major decision by the time you buy a tub and pay for what you would call the installation fee. The installation was in and out and the crew cleaned up after themselves. There was nice communication with us while they were here working. It was an overall positive experience.
The tub has worked great for us. It's not as quick as a shower but we're very pleased with it. There is the convenience of when we have days that we can't stand in a shower and we have an opportunity to go in and sit down and take care of our bathing needs. My wife and I both had multiple back surgeries. She's 87 and I'm 83. The walk-in tub is one of those things that we planned ahead to a point where that's probably all we will be using. We are prepared in case someone breaks a hip.
A toilet came with the deal and that's been a little bit of a problem. The float device that controls the filling of water in the tank has been hung up. We have to take the lid off and shake it loose. I'm not sure if they used a wax or rubber seal between the bottom of the toilet and the outlet for sewage. Whatever they did there, we're seeing water that's creeping out from underneath. We're not too happy about that.

My son has cerebral palsy and the walk-in tub is a total life-changer for him. It's wonderful and now, I don't have to lift him over the tub. When we got it, American Standard's reps were good. But after it was installed, I haven't heard from the sales rep, so I thought that was a little strange. Other than that, I would recommend the walk-in tub. It's nice for all of us and it’s like having a hot tub in your house. And every time my son goes in there, he says it's the best thing we ever got and that he loves it. We also got a toilet the other day and that's another game changer because he needs some help and that gives him even more independence. The sales rep also said that they had a sale on the toilets, so it worked out great for us.

We got the master tub. It's got everything and we like the whole thing. It's comfortable and the quality is excellent. We had a really nice jetted tub, but my husband couldn't get it in and out of it by himself. With this one, he can manage his own bathing. It's wonderful and it looks pretty. It's well worth it.

We got an American Standard walk-in for my mother. She's been using it and she likes it. When it was installed, the team did a great job and were very personable. Initially, they were supposed to come one day, then they called and said they couldn't come. A week went by and they called again. They said they could squeeze it in their schedule, so it worked out. Aside from that, the power requirements for the house wasn't an issue for us but if additional power would have been needed, it might have been a concern. The salesman checked on that when he was at the house though.
Also, there were a couple times where my mother didn't latch the door close all the way and water ran out on the floor. So if there was any improvement that could be made with the tubs in general, it would be to ensure doors closed all the way. My mother had had two instances where she ran quite a bit of water out into the house but we got it up quick, and it was not a problem.

I like the fact that the water stays hot in the tub. I can get in and just soak. If I have to get out after an hour, the water is still hot. I hate to let hot water go down the drain. I also like the feature where it empties rapidly. I like the lights and the jets as well, but they are noisy. I just don't like that it takes so long to fill up. Then if I don't use that tub every day, I have to run the water for quite a long time to get rid of a brown coloration, like it's going through rusty pipes or dirt is in the water, as nobody wants to get in the bathtub with that going on. If it goes five days, then I run into that problem. I told the installer that and he said that I just have to do what I was doing. Well, you're putting 40 gallons of water in it, to begin with, and then to have to run another two or three gallons to get it clear is quite a lot of water.
Then he came back several days to make sure the surroundings of the tub, which he wasn't responsible for, looked nice also, and went back to the way my bathroom looked because we had tile where the old tub was. He replaced the tile and caulked it and then put in some flooring that matched the tub so I didn't have bare spots and funny-looking things going on. So far, American Standard seems to stand by its product. It's a good buy for the cost. Plus, it was several thousand dollars cheaper than another one I looked at.

I was a little dismayed. We've had to have the installer back a couple of times and we're fixing to call again to have him come back. Our diverter isn't acting quite right and it is still leaking out onto the floor again. He adjusted the diverter when he came out one time but it didn't work. If it can get fixed, I'll be quite happy with it. Nonetheless, the tub is fancier than what I had expected and it's easy to clean. I like it, it's different, so it takes some getting used to.

One gentleman came during the installation. He unloaded the tub into the driveway, got the room, and prepped in the bathroom for the tub. He had to take out my normal tub before the new one could be put in. He showed us what he was doing and what he needed to do. He had another gentleman come and help him bring the new tub into the bathroom because it was so heavy, and then he showed us how he was going to grout around the edges. He did an excellent job. I like the amount of jets the tub has with the 40 jets, makes it really nice. American Standard changed our life a lot, being able to get in there and do that. My husband and I both are enjoying it. The health benefits are good as far as with all the jets, we're able to do a lot, it releases the muscles. We're also getting the lifetime warranty too so that makes it really nice. I just wish the prices were a little bit lower. But they're very well worth what we're getting.

The American Standard walk-in tub had more features that were interesting to us so we went with it. Our sales rep was very helpful and informative. We did the same-as-cash financing then paid it off. Alton was our installer and he was superb. He had to do some carpentry work to get the thing into the bathroom. We're enjoying the tub very much. It's been very helpful for my wife who's mobility-challenged. It's easy for her to be able to walk in the tub then get the benefit of the jets and the aromatherapy. This tub has been a good investment. It has a good warranty on it too.

I know the Standard brand. I have Standard brand toilets. That's the only brand I buy. So, I know it's reputable. The gentleman that came out to talk to us about the tub started to explain different things about the tub and different qualities and how it worked and my husband just out and out told him, "You don't have to say anything. We have already researched it. We know what we want. We want the entire package. Just fill out the paperwork and we'll sign it and give you a check." The guy was blown away. He still was here for four hours. He went through everything very cautiously. I got the full warranty on it. I'm able to get in the tub. I love soaking in it. My husband is enjoying the hell out of it. He stays in it an hour and a half at a time.

It took three weeks to get everything set up and scheduled. The people that did the installation were fantastic. It was a father-son and both of them were very congenial, easy to work with. It took time to explain everything, did a great job on the installation, and it was a lot faster than what I expected. I figured it would take a bit longer than it did, but they did a great job and I would highly recommend them. I would work with them anytime.
I was gonna do two showers but they were not able to do the one. But the contractor said that he could have done it, but we didn't know that going in. I was disappointed that we couldn't do the other shower. It was an add-on shower. And they had someone come out and check it instead of trying to do it online or just with their initial salesperson coming out, it would have been a lot easier and we could have got it done.
I'll do it some other time. But at least now, I know with the person that came out and did the install on the other shower that it could have been done, and probably even within the range or less than what they had anticipated because of the distance on the pipe. I know it's hard to do things online sometimes, but that would be my only thing, if we could have had someone check it before they made the decision not to go through with it. But as far as the product and service, it was great. Mine is a regular shower. I made it upright and replaced the showers, and I liked the American Standard product. That's why I went with them.

We liked the way they told us it would be installed and the precision of the way it was installed. And the poor guys came from Connecticut to Maine in a 40-mile an hour wind in a van with stuff on the top, and were done and gone in one day. Incredible. It was a great experience. The tub is easy to clean and get into. We love it.

I love my American Standard tub. When I bought it, the sales rep was nice and the installation guys were wonderful. They had to come back the following day for a few moments to finish some framework as they had to take down the frame of the door in order to get the tub through. But they did an excellent job. The tub really helps with a lot of the pain and it's an awesome product. It would have been great if they were a little bit cheaper but now, I'm seeing that they're about 7,000 cheaper than what I paid. If anyone is thinking of getting one, I'd tell them to do it and not to wait. I don't smoke but the first time that I got in there and finished, it was so relaxing that when I came out, I said I needed a cigarette.

The installation was more erratic than I thought it was going to be. They were supposed to take like three days and they ended up taking five overall because out of the blue, they had to have a day off. But I know that they were working between Maryland and Virginia. I got the feeling that sometimes that was the issue. It was more of supply than it was anything. But other than that, all the gentlemen were very professional. The timeline wasn't kept but it was fine. My favorite feature of the tub is the jets. They are more like a sauna where they go the whole way around the tub, including down around the feet and the ankles. I like the part that does the legs and the knees and I just sit down in the lower part of it. Also, when you sit in the tub for an hour at a time, it helps a bit with the skin.

My salesperson was great and walked us through things. He took measurements and explained exactly what was gonna happen and when it was going to happen. I was told that someone would call to do a verification. The price that he quoted was the price I had to pay. The installers called up and said when they were going to be there. They came on a Saturday because they had another job and they showed up about an hour before in the morning. They wound up having to replace the doorway. Also, when they were installing the free toilet that we got, the flange broke. They replaced that and the drain that was going to the toilet. The guy said it was plugged. I was looking at having to pay for all this plumbing but they said it was all taken care of.
They did the job in one day and they were quick. They cleaned up after themselves. This was one of my best experiences dealing with someone coming in to the house and doing something. I'm perfectly satisfied and I'm glad I did American Standard. I have given the number that I called to some friends and hopefully, they would be calling because they were looking for something like that.

American Standard's person was thorough and told me what I needed to do and how much. He was very knowledgeable and knew his business. An installer came when they said he would. He was fine but he sure was gabby. The texture and quality of the tub are totally different from a regular bathtub. It has a slightly marbled pattern to it. I was shown the different things I could use and I really like it. All in all, American Standard was great and did the job in two days.

My standalone bathtub was really tall and big to get in and out of. I had Kohler come in and I liked them, but they were not quite what I needed. American Standard made good products so I called them and had them come out and give me a presentation. They did and I liked their business plan better. Everything they told me matched Kohler. Their tub was just as good or maybe better and it was less money. It was just exactly what I needed and they could get it in quicker. The customer service people were really professionals and they did a great job. The tub is really nice. The door opens and I can get in it really easily. The tub fills and drains fast. It also has everything so handy and so clean. It's a joy to sit in and bathe in. I am able to relax in my tub and I get a lot cleaner because my tub makes everything handier to wash up.

Their reps are very professional and quick with their jobs. The sales guy and the installers made sure we knew about everything and they walked us through the process. We're waiting to get the finished job. The install is done but there was some little damage in our downstairs bathroom from some water that had escaped from the tub. Other than that, I like the air jets of the tub. I have real bad neuropathy and some skin infections and the tub really helps with purifying the skin. If I do get an infection, the tub draws it out and makes my legs and feet feel a lot better.

I have looked at tubs for a while and then I saw American Standard on a Facebook commercial. So, I called. The sales rep told me what all came with it and he did a good job of explaining it to me, and told me it would come in a few weeks, and they'd set it up. Two guys who came in were friends that worked together, and they were really nice and really careful with everything. They had to take off the wood frame on the bathroom door to get the tub through. They were able to come in the patio door and didn't have to take that one off. They took it off and brought the tub in and put it back on. They put the tub in and built in around, cleaned everything up, and they filled it and explained to me how to use it. So, I was really pleased with them. They did a good job.
As far as the tub, I like the ease of getting into it. I like getting in it and being in it because it relaxes my body. I could talk to others about the scent crystals, the lights, the bubbles and the jets and the ease of getting in and out. There’s a little tubing inside it at an angle, and it blows it out and dries it. I've had jetted tubs for years, but I like the fact that it dries it. So, there's never any of that black junk that comes out if you haven't used it for a while. So, this is really good that it does that. The crystals are little scented beads that go down. There's a little cap that comes off and then a little bag, and you put them down in there. It's a steam that comes up inside and scents the air. I like the lights that change colors. I like the fact that the tub drains very fast. The seat is heated, too. So, it keeps the tub warm if you're in it for a long time. A really nice thing about the one I got is all the framework underneath it was chromed. It wasn't just a plain metal.

The sales rep was great and really nice. He seemed very honest. He was also helpful and very considerate. Being able to walk in the tub has been very, very convenient, and very good. I’m enjoying it very much. The only thing that I was disappointed in was that the doors are a little too flimsy. I expected them to be more solid. But overall, I was very well pleased with it. The salesman that came out was a dream. He was such a nice guy. It was a real pleasant experience and I knew I was gonna get the tub. He made it very relaxing. When the tub was installed, it was comical. My house is super small. So it was a bitch getting the tub in. I've got this gigantic dog but he was in his kennel and giving the guys a hard time and they were teasing him. It was a riot. It was a good time. I love my tub. It's wonderful. It's terrific to just open the door and jump out of my tub.

The sales representative was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. He did a good job of picking out what we wanted and putting an order in for that. It was a good experience. The installation team was excellent. They were professional. They took care of issues that came up. They were more than pleasant to talk to, and very courteous. So far, we’re quite pleased with the quality of the tub. The tub is appealing to the eye. It's really nice. It was a very good experience all the way around. We will call upon the same group of people to do it again if we have to do something else.

The installer was there early and went to work. He didn’t have stuff all over the house and he was in and out. He was professional about it. I liked the look of the tub and the easy in, easy out. And not much maintenance. However, it might have a small leak. When my baby was up there taking a bath, and I was down up under her in the other room, it was a little leak. I didn’t want to have American Standard out on a small leak, but I didn’t want to plaster up the hole either just yet. Other than that, I recommended American Standard. I told him, “Hey, here’s the number. If you’re interested in it, these are the people right here.”

The sales guy really had it together. He was a hell of a salesman. They only sent one guy that had to do the installation and he was pretty good. The tub relaxes real good. But it was awful damn expensive. $15,808 is a hell of a lot of money to pay for a tub.

The installation crew who did my American Standard walk-in tub was nice and really good. They showed me how everything worked. The only thing that was funny was the finance company never sent me any paperwork and I had to call American Standard to find out who was doing that. Other than that, I’m enjoying my tub.

American Standard has more jets, it had a lifetime warranty, and we liked the price. My husband enjoys the jets on our American Standard because he's the one that has the bad back. So, we wanted the jets. I still use a shower. He has arthritis in his back, so he needed to soak once in a while when it's really sore. He doesn't have flare ups everyday, thank God. There was a misunderstanding over the walls. The tub was fine, but we thought it included the walls. It wasn't included in the price. It was a misunderstanding. So, we’re not upset. We got it worked out. The installation was very quick. They did a great job.

The installation was really good. The installers were very professional and the tub looks great. It was a wonderful and very professional experience. The tub helped me with a lot of aches and pains in the lowest part of my body. It's also helped out a lot with the new knee.

American Standard's rep knew what he was talking about as far as the product. But there was a little confusion on the contract afterwards. I expected a certain showerhead and the rep told me that it was there. When it came time to do the installation, it wasn't on the contract. But the installer went ahead and put it in so everything was fine. I like being able to get in and out of the tub.
The only thing that would be negative is I'm still waiting for my shower curtain rod because they put in a big bow one and I didn't like it because I couldn't open the door to the bathroom. The installer said he would be back within a week but it has been three months now. I contacted the installer and he said he would get back to me and I'm sure he has been busy. Also, the base surface of the shower is slicker than snot. I have Parkinson's and I almost fell a couple times on it. Otherwise, I love it. It's just what I needed.

I got bids from three different companies, and American Standard's was the most reasonable for what I would get. I have one issue with the installation. But that was just that the door that the installers put in did not fit correctly. So, I had to do some adjustments to it myself to finally make it work right. I would have preferred they left it working correctly. Other than that, the tub works really well. It does everything they promised as far as fill and empty times, and it has proven to be therapeutic.

The installation was fine. The tub is very comfortable. But the shower control, where it goes from one showerhead to the other showerhead, pulls right out and it comes off in your hand. So I've had to put it back about three times.

American Standard's reps were wonderful and they knew what they were doing. They came that morning and they started their work. They really put time on the installation and at the end of it, they explained things to us. They took us in the bathroom and told us how the walk-in bath worked. The workmanship was A1, too. I like the jets and everything about the tub. If I had to do over, there's nothing that I would change. I had a friend that was thinking about getting one and I told her, that she'd love American Standard. I also told her that after they get the tub, it just takes one day to work it up.

I love the American Standard walk-in bath. But when you first buy the tub, they show it to you and had you step in and out of the doorway, and there was no way you would have known ahead of time how high the stepping was. It was a problem, even with the rail on the side. And the little step that we got had an additional charge. So it would have been nice had they offered the step to go with it because that started presenting a challenge getting in and out of the tub itself.
Aside from that, the bottom was very slippery. So we called and they sent us more of the treads. We ended up putting those on and it’s better now. The jets were a problem as well. I had those things on and all of a sudden, the water came from my back up. The water came on me and all over my bathroom. I didn’t know what was going on. And I could not find that thing first that do just the legs. I found it on the side and I turned it down. Maybe they should give people little videos where they could show them what will happen if they turned on the jets. Also, the other bathtub I had in Texas had a little curtain on it and nothing could go out. But with the American Standard, we didn't get any curtain. Other than that, the workmanship on it was high quality.

The sales technician and the installation crew were good. They did what they said they were gonna do. American Standard wasn't able to get to me as they had originally promised, but this was not in their control. Because of the pandemic, things didn't go as planned as far as items being shipped on time. But they did keep me abreast of what was going on, and once they received the correct tub, they reached out to me and set up a date.
The installer went a little bit above and beyond. The door of the original tub that was brought out turned the wrong way. He pointed it out to us that over time, we would not be satisfied with the way that the direction of the door was swinging. He suggested to take that tub back and order another one that would properly do what we wanted to do over time. He didn't have to do that, but he explained it. Before they left, he had me and my wife come together and he demonstrated everything.

The sales rep of American Standard was very nice. He talked me into it and before I knew it, I was scheduled for a month later. All of a sudden, Joseph and his crew were in Bluffton. He called me and said, “We can go right over there this afternoon.” The installation was awesome. The crew was absolutely fantastic. They put up with me sticking my nose in the bathroom to see what they were doing. They were really great. They did the majority of the work that first half a day and then they came back the next day to put in the shower doors.
I'm in love with my shower. I went in it and my husband said, “Are you still there?” I said, “Leave me alone. We had five different estimates. American Standard was not the cheapest, but we thought their product was the best. The installer was very professional and did a wonderful job. I really love the tub. It's allowing me to take a bath without worrying about it. The only thing is with half your body out of the water, it can be a little chilly. Other than that, it drains and fills up very quickly. The jets are wonderful. I'm very happy with the product. It's given me some freedom and I feel a lot safer. It's a very expensive project, but if it keeps me in my home longer then I'm a happy person.

The American Standard rep was great. She answered all the questions. She showed it to us in a very positive, educated way. The installers explained a little bit before they even started. A couple of times while they were working on it, they came to me and told me certain things. I was very satisfied with the installation. They cleaned up really well. But they should have vacuumed the floor because there were a lot of little shard pieces around.
However, I have a 40-gallon tank and I have to let the water be as hot as possible so that I get as much water in there as possible. They should have a 50-gallon tank here for this tub. Now, I have to put out another $800 for another heater. But the drain time is fantastic for the amount of water it has to get rid of. It's also very comfortable to sit in. At my age, I didn't think I would use it ‘cause I like the shower. But I realize, for an older person, it's great because you don't have any chance of falling. To me, that's the premium feature about it. The aromatherapy is a big fraud though. I never smell anything in there. But the jets are nice. The light is nothing as far as I'm concerned.

Once the sales rep came, he really knew his business. The installers were a husband and wife team and they were not messy at all. They were loud but I never begrudged them that. That’s how they communicate with one another. So I just shut my door and kept working. I like that with my American Standard, I can have a total body massage within the privacy of my own home.

We looked at several different companies and American Standard seemed to have the most features and they were the most easily accessible. We very much like the idea of the door opening out and the heater, and the other things that American Standard has as a standard. The way American Standard works is that the company that sells you the item does the installation. So you're not working with two different entities and that is extremely important. Their customer service was very efficient and helpful. We appreciated the care they took to explain what was going on with the item. The installation was done in one day. It couldn't have been better. The cleanup was excellent and the walk-in tub looked great when it was installed.

We have always bought American Standard commodes and we have always had good luck with them. We love our sales rep and installer who was as neat as he could be. The fact that the tub is something that is aiding in the bathing thing is a big deal. Because I was having difficulty getting in and out of the shower and a bit of trouble with my balance because of different health things I have going on. So I feel safe in my tub. I'm able to sit and bathe, and I love it.

I liked the sales pitch about the tub. The installation took two days. They had to move the pipes around for the tub to fit properly. Then they said that my electric box outside was out of date so they had to put in a new box for me to make it up to code. They included all that in the price. I absolutely love my tub. I love the jets. I can put the jets on my feet or wherever it hurts. It's great. I also love the lights. They change colors and it’s really pretty.

The American Standard rep came to the house and looked at my layout. He proposed a particular tub that he thought would work for me. He offered me a couple of discounts. And I said, “Yeah, let's do it.” One of the big selling points for me that other companies didn't offer was installation. And if you have American Standard install it, then they guarantee it. Other companies, you buy it from them, you have your plumber install it, and there's a problem, they would say, “Well, that's your installation. That's not us.” So I wanted the whole thing done by them. And that's what I got. Because the tub was going into an existing home, there were some questions that I had that my plumber and electrician also had. The installer was so helpful. He even got back to me when he was on vacation to talk to me. They did a great job. I tried the tub once and it was awesome. I can’t wait to use it again.

The installers were great. They came in and went right to work. They got the old tub ripped out and put in the new one. They also cleaned up the mess. It took them about a day and a half to complete the job. The walk-in tub has been great. I wish I had done it sooner. The tub is convenient and it's a beautiful unit. The bathroom that it was installed in is a very, very small bathroom. But it doesn't take up any more space. It actually makes the bathroom seem larger because it's more open area than the enclosed tub and shower. I’m very, very pleased with it.

We’re pleased with our experiences with the sales rep of American Standard and the maintenance guys that came and installed our American Standard. Everybody was very pleasant. We were well satisfied with everything. The sales rep was very helpful. He had the answers to the questions that we'd asked. The installers had to take the old tub out first. They used a sledgehammer to bust it up and get it out in pieces. They made sure that the walls were okay. They brought the tub in, slid it in place and hooked everything up. It seems to be working just fine. I like that I can get in it and sit down and then, the showerhead is right there. I can either use it by hand or put it up on the stand. It seems to be serving us well.

The sales guy with American Standard was very informative and went through everything. He had his laptop and showed us the video that goes with it. I was very impressed with the install and the installers were very impressed with the salesman. We had one little issue as there was a vent pipe in the way for the sewer system but they figured it out. The quality of work is great. They built the surround and it's awesome. It's got about everything we could ask for. The only thing I've got to do is get my other hot water heater hooked up because we don't get quite enough hot water. Other than that, everything else works great.

The installers all did their job professionally. I like using the walk-in tub. It helps me. Showering while sitting down is easier for me than standing. I have issues with balance which I don't like. So, if I can close the curtain, sit down and take my shower with my oils, I'm happy. What I had previously was not good. The switch wouldn’t switch over, so you either left it on "shower," or you left it on "bath." So, we leave it on "shower."

The installers came very well-prepared. They were very quick and seemed really knowledgeable. The only thing was they chipped the door, but there was a big piece of equipment going in. Also, what was presented to us about the installation was different than what took place. We were told that they would have to do something to our electrical box that the installer decided not to do. He broke through the wall on the other side and put a breaker in there instead. The only thing that we object to is we have still not received our permits. They had to get the permits before they could install it and we wanted a permitted job so that if we sold our condo, we would have the permits to show that it was a permitted installation. We've called and asked for it but we still have not received it. Other than those, I love the tub and the work was really good. My favorite feature is the way it drains quickly. I would hate to have to sit in that tub and wait for it to drain.

When I first saw the installers take the tub off the truck, they told me that some bolts were bent. I called customer service and they just kept connecting me to this and connecting me to that. I never got any satisfaction from them. I paid $16,000 for a tub and they don't even want to answer my call to see if it's all right. The worker himself called his boss and told his boss what the problem was. He was told to not install the tub until he got some new bolts and to let me see him with the new bolts and put it in right. He was very courteous.
I wasn't pleased with the customer service. But the workers they sent out were excellent. They did everything they were supposed to do to keep me happy and they installed the tub perfect. It was pretty when they finished. Also, they showed me how everything worked and told me what to do and what not to do. I'm comfortable that this is a good tub because of how they went out of their way.

I liked the lifetime warranty of the American Standard walk-in bath and their sales rep did a super good job. He did the recommendations, wasn't pushy, and answered our questions. The young gentleman o did the installation also did a super good job. He was very presentable and made sure there wasn't any mess throughout the house while he was doing things. He was very polite and he knew what he was doing. All the work was done well but I have a leak on my door and they still haven't replaced the door yet. I can still use the tub, but the door on the tub is not correct. So I'm going to call the one that did the selling of the tub and check in with him again. The last time they said something was on a backorder but I haven't heard for a little bit.
I wish they would get the door fixed because I spent a lot of money and for the money I spent, I would like it to be perfect. That part was not their fault though and I like my tub overall. With it, I can come and take advantage of the workouts I have been doing and have extra with the jets. My tub pretty much has everything on it. I've also got the shower and the aromatherapy which I smell a little bit, but I'm still using the aromatherapy beads that they furnished me with. They're not as strong as what I would like though. I'd like them with a little bit more aroma.

The salesperson explained everything so well. Eric answered all my questions. I was gonna get other estimates, and by the time he was done talking to me, I decided I liked American Standard. He was very good. Also, the installation team had to be the most professional one I have ever seen. They worked with my schedule and showed up on time. They came in, I told them I didn't want to stand right there when they were ripping walls apart because it made me nervous. I went next door to the neighbors and they kept coming over and checking with me and any questions I had and showing me the work along the way.
When they were doing the work in here, I came in halfway through and there still wasn't any dirt or dust anywhere. They put down plastic but I was, "Usually, you get workmen in and there's crap all over the place." But I could not believe how neat they were. When they got done, they showed me how to use the thing, which was easy. The bathroom looks like it was built with that tub in it. And it has a nice shelf that they built in so it would fit the wall just right, but it's good to put stuff on. They did an excellent job. The tub has jets, the air bubbles and the lights. I picked the shower option with it. In case I have company, it's nice that it will offer a second shower. Also, the tub fills in a couple of minutes. So, it's fast. I was surprised. Also, I like the drain that drains really fast.

The installation went all right. There was a couple of little hitches. The first tub that we ordered wouldn't fit. American Standard fortunately had one in stock that would fit and got a slight discount on it. However, I got to fill it up to fully get all the jets covered. It's a big tub, so it takes a lot of water. It empties out my hot water heater. But it is what it is, and I enjoy it.

I'm satisfied, but I don't have my light. My light is not working and American Standard hasn't called me back. They haven't been back to fix it. I called the installer and he said he had to order the parts for the light in the bottom of the tub and he hasn't gotten back with me to say it would be delayed or, "I'll be there next month." And it has been a month and I should have had something since then. I've made payments, so it has been long enough. Other than that, everything went as planned. It works fine. I would refer somebody, but I would tell him to be careful.

When the installers of American Standard left, we had a couple of leaks. They didn't really test it. They acknowledged that by phone. Then, between my schedule and their schedule, it took a few weeks to get together. But when they came back in and tested it, they saw the leak. They fixed it, tested it out and everything’s good. I've made a couple of additions to make it easier to stand up in it. I'm happy with it and it’s what I expected. I’ve recommended the product to some of our neighbors already.

The sales rep of American Standard was a very nice guy and he did a very good job of explaining everything to us. The installers did a very good job, too. They were very thorough. However, they still haven't come to cover up where the shower was. They were supposed to cover up the pole with something so it wouldn't look so obvious. But I like that I can get in it and soak in and not have to worry about trying to get out of it. I like that it lets all the water out of it and then step out, and I have no problem with trying to bend my legs to get over the thing.

I like my American Standard very much. It's comfortable. I enjoy it. It's a little loud. But the water stays warm. I also like the jets and the lights. I like to take baths and the traditional bathtub was high to get in and out of. And this is low. The sales rep was informative. He answered all my questions. When the person came out to demonstrate and tell us about the American Standard, we were convinced that it was top-of-the-line. After I purchased the walk-in tub, I was given a date on which someone would be there to install it, and it happened as I was told. We were very satisfied with the installer. This tub has a lot of features that our previous tub didn’t have. For example, when you finish with a bath, 10 to 15 minutes later, the tub cleans itself. With our old tub, you start a new tub of water or start the bath, and the old water from the previous bath was still in the line, and it was smelly. You don't have that kind of issue with the American Standard tub. The walk-in tub has many good features that we love. It’s expensive but it’s still worth the cost.

I grilled the salesman because I already had the presentation by their major competitor. There were a lot of aspects that I was concerned about and the biggest one was losing my shower. American Standard has a feature that their competition doesn't. Their walk-in tub comes with a bar to mount the spray as a shower. If I had gone with the other brand, I would have lost the shower for the sake of putting in my tub. I also asked the rep a lot of technical questions about installation and he was very good about all of that. He was negotiable too which was good.
The installation team was very polite and well-mannered. They did a professional job. But, I was disappointed with the one who worked in the basement. It wasn't until a few days later that I went down to my workshop in the basement and found that he had moved things to run the wire from the power box to bring it up to the floor by the tub but he didn't put them back in the workshop. That was very lazy. He had also knocked stuff off the shelf and didn't even pick them up.
Also, I had a chair there with a box of paper on it to keep it up off the floor. I noticed that the box had been taken off the chair and put on the floor. I could only assume that it was so he could sit there and take a break where it was cool in the basement. He didn't even bother putting the box back. But again, it's just one of the workmen. Out of sight, out of mind. Nobody saw what he was doing. The ones working upstairs were fine. But I had to have the workmen back about a week later because one of the parts of the tub wasn't secured tightly and I was afraid it was going to fall off. The tub has a lifetime warranty so I called and there was no charge. The team came and fixed it.
Unfortunately, American Standard is following the lead of their main competitor who had the market for a while. And they only sell a top-of-the-line Cadillac very expensive tub, because it's a spa and it has all the bells and whistles. It has lighting that changes colors. What I got had an awful lot of stuff but I had no choice. The other option was buying a tub from Home Depot and getting a contractor which is extremely difficult during COVID. I was forced into the decisions that I made but my spouse is happy with the tub.
The one area I was really unhappy with was that I paid by credit card and when the job was done, I expected that they were going to take my credit card and swipe it into a mobile device. But they had me write down my entire credit card number, PIN number and the date of expiration on a form. Then they manually entered it into their tablet and then they kept the damn form. There's no reason on God's green earth why American Standard shouldn't have modern technology when it comes to taking a credit card. Not only that, they had to use my WiFi to connect and I had to give them my password for them to use my WiFi. I assume they're on the up and up but this doesn't bode well for a company that's supposed to be top-notch.
Now, there's a guy that I don't know from Adam, and he's walking around with a piece of paper that has my credit card number and my PIN. I was extremely annoyed with their method of taking credit card payments. American Standard as the prime contractor has the overall responsibility that their employees represent them in a business-like manner.

They installed the walk-in tub in the master bedroom and I liked the installer, Nick, very much. When he talked to me on the phone and found out how immobile I was, he insisted that American Standard give me a door that swung out rather than in. I appreciated that he was caring enough to make sure I could actually use my tub and I'm very happy with the tub so far. But they haven't started with the shower and I would like for the sales rep to return my calls or emails. I decided not to go with a second bidet in the shower room and I haven't heard back from her about how much it will save me or if they are gonna do it. That was a little upsetting.
But she was nice enough when she was promising all these different things -- permits, etc. Then, they were told that it wasn't needed in Modesto but my daughter looked it up and sure enough, they require them for a lot of things. We were promised that we're going to get some permits and hopefully, we will get them and everything that they promised as far as that when they do the shower. It won't be done till the 20th and I hope they finally get that done that day. They were supposed to do it last month on the 29th but the rep had not told anybody the right kind of pan to go in the shower was not ordered. It was upsetting because I got to wait another month to get the shower installed.

I had an American Standard salesman come out and he showed me a video. I fell in love with it and after that, I gotta have the tub. But I had to wait three years before I was financially ready to purchase it. The second salesman came out and he was very nice. He went over some stuff but I wish he had been a little bit more detailed in what it was. We didn't look at different sizes and it wasn't discussed with me which one would I rather go with or see what they can get in my bathroom. Also, it wasn't discussed if I wanted the door to open from the inside or the outside. The one I got opens from the inside and if he brought it up, I would have said I would want that the door to open from the outside because I'm finding it's harder to clamp inside with the door opening from the inside if I wanna clean it.
Then, when he was at the table with me talking about the tub, I asked him if it had the ozone filtration and he told me it doesn't. But then when the installers came, they said it did. And I never got a handbook for that tub to see all the different features. Other than those, I love the tub. The installers took around seven hours but they worked pretty steady and they did a great job. The tub is making a little bit of difference with my muscle muscles, which are tightened, and it's relaxing.

It took more than one day to install my walk-in tub. Our installer was Rick and he came back the second day to install the doors. But the wrong doors were sent so he had to reorder them. When the doors came in, it was about another week and a half. The installer came back and installed those. He showed us how things worked. At that time, we did not see a leak but when I went to use it for the first time, that was when I discovered the leak. It has been an ongoing issue.
Our experience would be a lot better if we could get the leak fixed. A part was ordered and Rick told us to call him. We’ve called a couple of times and left messages on his phone. But he has never called us back. Rick lives somewhere way over Maryland and it's so hard for him to get back here to do it. We have the part sitting here at house. It’s not a very big leak but it’s still a leak. We were hoping in a way that over time, things correct themselves. That aside we love our walk-in tub. I'm handicapped and on a walker. My husband is on a cane. We're up in age. It's so nice to step in that shower and not have to worry about falling into a tub. We're very satisfied with the product. Everything has been great. American Standard just needs to get that little issue resolved.

I have a past that showed me that American Standard was the tops in quality and the way it lasts that was why I went straight with them. I was very pleased with the way they communicated with us and how they did their job. The installers were very good. It was neat watching the bathtub as they were carrying it in there. I was in the Air Force for 10 years. I was an aircraft fuel systems mechanic and their tub was very similar to the way our fuel system was worked on the aircraft. I mentioned that and they had good humor about it. I had nice conversations with them.
I like the tub very much. I like the way that it keeps the water at a certain temperature for a long time. But it's not quite long enough. I would like it to go on with no time set but I understand that it can't go on forever. I was in a car wreck, and I have all kinds of arthritis problems due to it. I like to sit there in the water and the therapy that it does for me is excellent. The smells that come out of the little air jet is very nice too. I've already had my neighbors over to look at the tub had in-laws that tried it. They love it.

My sales rep was very professional and polite. He explained everything and I had a very good experience with him. Three guys and an electrician then came for the installation of the walk-in tub and they were very polite and thoughtful. They explained everything too. I love the fact that my tub is a walk-in. It has made it easier to get in and out of the tub. Features of the tub include a shower, jets, aromatherapy, and lights. The jets are my favorite because they feel good on my back and legs.

The main thing that we liked about the American Standard tub is how fast the water drains out. I don't want to sit in cold water till it drains out. However, I don't like the sales rep. He told us one thing but we received a different thing. They gave us the wrong tub and we ended up taking it. It was missing one jet on one side. That was what we were after, with a small opening to get in. The doorway is a little bigger. I asked will it sit over the toilet. It's a handicap toilet that is 21 inch high. We received a free toilet but it was smaller. We ended up keeping my old toilet. I can't sit anything lower than a handicap toilet because I'll pop my hips out. We had a little argument at the beginning, before they installed it. The sales rep came around and said that door is bigger and we'd be able to get our handicapped daughter in there easier. He was right on that part but the problem is you don't want to have an argument going through when you're installing it at the time. But the tub is great. My wife's been using it, and she loves it.

Our walk-in tub was installed within a day and it was pretty quick. The quality is good and the jets and the heating are very nice. The one thing I'm having trouble with is I can't fill it all up because my hot water heater is too small.

I wasn't very happy with the sales rep. I wanted to give him a credit card information for the deposit but he wouldn't take it. He said he'd rather have a check so I lost out on cashback. I couldn't understand how a big company like American Standard wouldn't accept credit cards. I called the company and told them I didn't wanna pay it with a check. I asked if they accept credit cards and they said yes. When they installed the tub, I gave the guy a credit card and he was fine with it.
I was so pleased with those two guys that came from Connecticut. They were hard workers. They went at it and their ethics were very good. They took me into the bathroom and showed me how to operate a shower. They left the place clean. I couldn't even tell that they had taken out a shower and replaced it. They put cloths on the floor. However, they were in a rush. They were supposed to be here at 9:30 in the morning but they got a flat tire on the way out and didn't get here till 11:30. But they called me, and I understood.
I found the tub to be very expensive but I went with it because of my age. However, I've had a couple of issues with the shower and I have called twice. I'm about ready to call a third time and I will not be nice ‘cause I can't get a call back or satisfaction at all. There are things that were done that need to be corrected and they were supposed to call me. One of the rings on the grab bars was not siliconed in. Every time I take a shower, the ring falls off and rattles. The installer used a lot of black marker and got a mark on my wallpaper which is right in front of my sink. I see it every time I go wash up. I have tried everything to wash it off but it must have soaked through. There was also a ding on my toilet seat cover.
Whenever I call with my complaints, American Standard says they're gonna call the guy who installed it, and he's gotta deal with it. But I don't think he's the one. He's subcontracted by American Standard. American Standard is the one who is the main person. They should be finding a way to fix my issue. I don't want the guy to come all the way from Connecticut.

The sales representative was very good. He made a bunch of promises and only one promise wasn't kept. He said they were going to provide a wrap around shower curtain but when the installers came, they said it was not written in the contract. They had to cut the door entering the bathroom because the tub couldn't fit but they did a half-** job trying to make it right. The worker was willing to paint. I had extra paint, and he was willing to make the drywall levelled. On one side of the wall, it was protruding. On the other side, it was sunken in. His boss said, “No, we don't do that.” That was the only negative thing. The tub is fantastic. I bought one for my wife because she had a stroke, and she was having difficulty getting into the tub. Now she's able to get in and get out by herself. I got one for myself too.

We chose American Standard because it's a true acrylic tub and not just a fiberglass tub. Joe, the sales rep, was real good. Also, the installers on this job were fantastic. I've worked around construction for a long time, and I’ve never seen a team of guys work so well together and cared so much about what they did, where they were doing it and what the customer really wanted. We like the tub. However, it is a little smaller than I thought it was gonna be. In their ads, they've got that headrest at the back. It looks like the people were able to get down far enough in that tub to cover their whole body except for their head. I'm not a big guy, I'm only 5’10 but I can't lie down in a tub to get to that point. The only thing I would make a recommendation of is to make sure that future customers understand exactly how big the tub is.

We called American Standard and they came and did a consult with us. We liked the person who came and spoke with us. She gave us all of our options about what we could do. They installation team did well. The only thing that they didn't do was they didn't put the toilet back like they were supposed to. They said it wasn't put in right by the other people that put it in but everything's taken care of now. My husband absolutely loves the tub. It helps his legs. After one of his knee replacements, he had a staph infection so there's a lot of dead skin and with the jets, it really helps that.

My experience hasn't been great. At first, it was wonderful. The installer said that I should get something else, like granite, because the acrylic will scratch when I put my shampoo bottles there on the shelf. I went through all that and it was way too expensive, so I asked them to put the acrylic on. I also had trouble with the electric going off on the toilet seat and the bathtub. I had a contractor who was here and he fixed that. Another thing is, they took out my pocket door and left it so that I don't have a good way to put a door in. My contractor had a fit over that. Right now, I'm waiting for them to come and put the acrylic on. I'm not unhappy though. I just want to get it done.
I’m happy with the tub. It certainly empties fast and other than getting it done, my only complaint is it takes at least five minutes to fill it. To sit there and wait is a pain. I would also prefer a bigger tub so that I could lay back because I can't lay back in this. The salesman told me this is the size I had to have, and I assumed he knew what he was talking about. He would have wanted to sell me a bigger one if he could.
I like the toilet too. We always had the Japanese one, Toto. We've had those for 25 years and we like those so much, but American Standard's is great. The tub, I would go through American Standard but I would negotiate, which I didn’t do. When I decided I wanted one of those walk-in tubs, I looked at Home Depot and places like that to see what the situation was. There was a discrepancy in price, but I believe in American Standard. It's been around a long time and they have an incredible guarantee. However, I paid too much and I'm sure that was the salesman. I have a friend in another state who bought from them at the same time and paid a lot less.

We contacted the company when we started to do our update to get a quote and we had a very good rapport with the gentleman who came in. He was very courteous and explained everything to us. We got quotes from some other companies as well. As far as pricing went, American Standard's price was very close with everyone else's, but we felt better going with a company that had their own installers to deal with so that we had one phone call to make if there were any issues, instead of having to deal with “Well, this company put it in for you, so you have to contact them.” We wanted the one-stop shop. If we had an issue, we could call the company, and they would resolve it.
We redid two bathrooms. We got a walk-in tub and we also had a safety shower put in. We have used the tub a couple of times, and we enjoy it immensely. However, we use the walk-in shower the most, and we really enjoy the safety bars that were placed in because it was one of the things we did not have in our other bathroom. Any type of safety equipment couldn't be added.

We really do like the tub, and the installer did a great job. Would caution you to make sure you have a large enough hot water tank. It took a while before we could even use our tub because we didn’t know our tank was not big enough until we got in the tub. Even though the salesperson checked our tank, she did not have the courtesy to tell us the 40 gallon tank was not big enough. She also did not tell the installer that he would have to remove the door frame to our bedroom to get the tub to the bathroom. Some touch up was needed.
Make sure you can get through the tub door—might have to go through sideways. It is quite narrow. Even though the floor of the tub is textured, it is slippery. We added nonslip strips. Our greatest disappointment is follow up from customer service. We did have leaking problems with the toilet they installed. Never did hear back from customer service to find out if the problem was finally corrected after a call from the installer and an email from us.

The salesperson explained things to us and told us what to expect and how everything was going to be done as well as the days. We understood when someone named Tiffany called and said, "I'm sorry. We're gonna have to delay." I appreciated the communication where everybody was being honest to us, they let us know, and they explained the situation. They didn't let us think that they forgot about us.
The installers were friendly and on time. They explained every bit of things and made sure that my mama and I understood it before they left. They had somebody come out here and when he arrived, I was the lucky guinea pig to get in the tub before it even was installed. He showed me how to do the door and everything. My mom was the actual reason we got the walk-in tub. She saw it and they let her get in there. The guy showed her all the little features so it was amazing. I'd recommend them to anybody else.
The walk-in tub is safer for my mom. I'm enjoying it as well. We like the massage and the jets going off. It's relaxing. My niece likes the light show that goes on. She's four years old and when they give her her bath, she goes in there and she would say blue or whatever the colors are. She's having fun with that. Even I like the light show. It's a wonderful feature.

The salesman showed me the thickness of the material, and I liked that better than the other people. The installers did a good job. It took them two days. They were missing a couple of pieces. They had to come back a couple of weeks later to finish it up. But it went all right. I like the tub and the walk-in shower. It's easy on me and my aches and pains.

The guy from American Standard who came out was extremely friendly. He went above and beyond the call, shared things with me, and if I had a question he answered them sincerely. The guys that came in and put the tub in were professional and courteous. They had the slippers on their shoes, kept me informed throughout the time that they were here, and cleaned up after themselves. I like the jets, bubbles, and aromatherapy. I work third shift. And just to come home, get in there and be able to relax, I can sleep better.

Tub arrived short the legs, it needed three of them, When they came there was only two legs, that added one more day, then the air motor was no good that added three more days. The installer was very good, I called Texas and left a message. I called the salesman and he was helpful and said he would call his boss. I have yet to receive any messages from the company. I was promised a two day install and it ended up being a 8 day install. American Standard was expensive but their service was cheap.

American Standard looked like a good product. The sales rep did a lot to get everything done, get it financed and make sure it went in. The installers did a good job. They ran everything and kept everything clean. They installed the panel, ran the wires, redid the plumbing for the tub, put it in, and sewed everything up pretty good and explained to me.
My new tub helps my joints. I use the jets a lot. It's just that it wasn't designed right. At the back wall, if I'm taking a shower, it runs along the back wall and down the seam onto my floor. I've been putting a towel there so that doesn't happen, but there should have been a piece there that water does run down along the wall. You really can't put a curtain up that directs it right back into the tub. Also, I thought we were getting a door that opens out, and they put in a door opening in. It’s a little tough getting in. I'm also afraid if I hit the handle that locks the door in place, it might open and all that water will go out. But other than that, it’s fine. I like it.

I did a lot of studying for a couple of years before I decided, and it seemed like American Standard was the best choice for me. The sales representative was okay, but not completely honest about the timeframe of how long the tub would be installed. It didn't take a day like he said. But the installation was good. The people were very knowledgeable. It took three good days. There are still a couple of little things that they need to do to finish off, but they're just tiny things, like the grouting on the tile that they pulled up in the last part. They only have two or three things they need to finish up with. Other than that, I love everything about my bathtub. I like being able to get in and out, and being able to take a bath. It looks like it will hold up for a long time.

The rep explained things well. The installation was very smooth. It took less time than we had planned. One of our jets is not working properly. I've contacted the guy three weeks ago. The installers were finished in one day. The only thing that American Standard could improve is the lip when you step in. It's not quite tall enough. They said it was two inches. But it needs to be three or four inches. Other than that, I love the whole thing.

I would definitely not recommend this product to anybody. Had I had it to do over again, I would have gone with Kohler. I really miss having the heated seat. American Standard walk-in bath doesn't have it. Also, it’s a higher step up. As far as the product, it's really hard to open the door. When I get older, I’m probably not going to be able to open it. It's extremely stiff. Even my son made the comment and asked, “Are you going to be able to open this?” I almost felt like they were trying to give away old models. I wouldn't have even had an appointment with American Standard had the fellow with Kohler not said, “If you're not going to buy from us, buy from American Standard.” But what I did like about American Standard was the crew. They were professional and polite. They were here when they said they were going to be here. Any questions I had, they answered. I couldn't have asked for anything better about the fellow who was in charge of this crew.

My mother is enjoying the tub. She's up there and she ain’t going to let me help her get in and out of the tub now. The gentleman with American Standard was delightful. Our only setback was they measured everything for the big tub, but a little tub came. They had to wait another month for the right size tub and it's a good thing that my parents have two bathrooms. But they did a lovely job with the installation. They even put a splash on the back where the toilet was. I would definitely recommend it. I don't know too many people who will roll that way with that for that price but it's worth it. I'm happy.

The installers were very thorough, nice, and clean. They were very, very good. The walk-in tub works perfect for my mom because she's blind. She's more independent with it. She can switch easily back and forth from the shower to the handheld shower. The faucets are good too.

We were upgrading a 40 year old tub unit and it could not have gone smoother or looked better. Very happy with the service, the tub, the install, the cleanup, and the warranty. The sales guy was very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions. The installers did a really good job. It's easier for my elderly father to get in and out of the tub. The only thing I don't like is that the jets are spraying water really far across the room. It will spray across the wall and the mirrors. I'm not in there with my dad is in the tub. But he said it wouldn't turn on the jets. It's pointless to pay for it if you can't use the jets.

The salesman was pretty convincing. He was really nice. My kids work at home and so they were very worried about having an install during the week because they're on the phone a lot. American Standard worked real hard to get me a Saturday and Sunday install, and which is very rare. That's hard for them to do and that sold us to American Standard.
The installer sat down and answered all of our questions before he did the install in case we wanted to cancel. My son is very particular and meticulous, so he asked him a series of questions. The installer said he have to do a little investigating. So we allowed him to cut a hole in the garage to do a little investigating on the way the support beams ran. When he found out how they ran, he said it'd be real easy to run the electrical. The installation crew did a fantastic job. They let us know every time they were gonna make noise. They had to do some grinding on there to get the thing in. They also had to take the door frame out and you couldn’t even tell they’d taken it out.
I worked in construction for years and service is something that's very important. I really liked that the installer called the whole family, and he went through every feature after the tub was installed. He showed us how to work everything to make us all feel good. He also gave me his card and said, “If you have any problems, give me a call.” I've used the tub quite a few times since they put it in, and I haven't had any problems.
We asked for the shower and the installer put a little strip stand where you could put your shower thing up there. A lot of times we just like a quick shower. A lot of times, I'll get in the tub and fill it up, turn on the air and the water jets, and just lean back. American Standard gave us the little packets that have lavender in them and it's nice. The tub really relaxes you. I went to sleep right after that, so it was great. I have a few people that have looked at the tub but some of my friends who are also 74 years old don't have the money that I have. The tub is a bit expensive, so some people can't afford it. But I continue to talk to people about it.

They had the wrong information where they came and didn't have enough materials to do it. But other than that, it was smooth. The tub can sell on that fast drain. It was expensive, but we bought it. The rep was fine and he had with him a few guys who were very good. They unboxed it in the garage, brought it in and put it in the bathroom. The electrician put an outlet underneath it and ran it downstairs. It took them most of the day to do it.

The representative answered a lot of questions and showed me a lot of things. When the installation team came out, they were very professional. They removed the tub and did some other work. They made all the hookups and tested everything. It was very quick, surprisingly. The work was very nice. They had to make a lot of decks around it because we had a lot of space next to the shower for it to fit in. My wife puts flowers and other lady's stuff all around it. We love the tub.

I can't believe how the techs did the installation of my American Standard tub in just one day. It was beautiful and I loved it. I waited a while to get my tub because of COVID and when they came, it was tremendous. They did a terrific job. I like everything about the tub. The quality is excellent. I owned a tub before and this one is more elite. It's easy to go into as it's like a handicapped tub. I've advised somebody to go with them. I said, "Go to American Standard. They have the tub you want. I know they do."

The tub is too expensive. But other than that, we love it. American Standard has lifetime guarantee. With that amount of money for the tub, if you have issues in the future, you want to make sure all you have to do is make a phone call and get somebody out here to fix it. When using the tub, I need to slide down to get down to where my shoulders get the benefit of the hot water. American Standard could make the tub a little bit higher so people can get their shoulders up. So you don't have to squeeze down towards the front and then you could just sit there. You wouldn't have to be in an uncomfortable position because of that. You can also get the benefit of the water jets coming directly on your shoulders.

I had a good experience. The sales reps were very helpful and the installation crew was professional and knowledgeable. They did exactly what they told me that was going to happen. But there was one discrepancy. On the sale, they told me it was gonna have a bar in front of the toilet. But they didn't check that there was not a stud behind that drywall. So it was kind of hard to install. But the installers figured out a way to put something where I needed for the toilet so my father-in-law would be able to grab it and pull himself. It was not exactly where I was told it was gonna be but they tried, so I'm very happy.

I knew that the Bath Fitter thing was not a good way to go and I was very suspicious of that then I saw that this company had a sale online. I liked the name, American Standard. It has a very good name, and I've always used their products in the past and been very happy. When the sales guy came and showed me what was available, it was very appealing. I was also not looking forward to going to Lowe's or Home Depot and having one of them do it. With American Standard, it was a very simple process. “Here are your choices. This is what we can do.” It was one stop as well. One person is doing it. I don't have to deal with a plumber and then somebody else who's going to put the wall in, and I really like that.
American Standard was a bit pricey compared to other options, but because I needed it done quickly and because it was a simple solution, it was worth it to me. However, I could see other people saying that it was cost prohibitive. I paid $7,500 for my walk-in tub and that's a hell of a lot of money. The other thing is there are two shelves that go with my tub and I asked the installer, “Where do people put these shelves?” “You can put it wherever you want. You could put it in the back, you could put it in the front.” I told him to put one in the back and one in the front, not realizing that now I can't hang those metal holders for my soap and shampoo because the shelf is in the way.
If the installer would have said, “Are you going to hang anything off the shower spout?” then I would have gotten that thing and thought, “Oh, yeah, I can't put it there.” I would have put both shelves in the back. That's one thing, but the big thing is on the shelf in the rear. He did not finish gluing part of it, so there is a sharp edge on part of that. It's an easy fix though. He just has to come back and finish gluing it. Other than those things, I was happy with everything else.

American Standard's installation team was very courteous and professional. The tub that was installed has been great. I have a bad back and it has helped me. My wife is getting ready to have knee replacement and since using it, she's not nearly as grumpy and grouchy. With all the pain that we carry around with us like a kangaroo, it worked out. However, the seat needs to be lower so that I don't have to squat down in the tub to get water up above around my neck and shoulders. Other than that, it's quality-built.

The sales agent was a lot of fun and very informative. Since I knew nothing about the product, she seemed like she knew a lot. The installation on the tub was good, but the crew got some cuts and gashes in my tile that I didn't see until after they left when I started cleaning all the dust. Upstairs, we got a shower put in and I should have already called but one of the little corner edges is loose and it needs to be fastened. Other than those things, I had no problem from start to finish. I'm thoroughly satisfied. The tub that we got has the fancy drain on it and it has lights and the aromatherapy. When I sit in it, I like it whirlpooling all around me.

The installation team was marvelous. One door to the bathroom was smaller than the other door. They enlarged the door so walkers could fit through it wonderfully. The tub has all the features that we wanted. It's great to sit in there and have jets on my, feet, my back, and everywhere. Nice to have my feet soaked and massage. It's also heated and it drains quickly. I would recommend American Standard.

The walk-in bath is convenient. It's got the jets and the air so it helps with arthritis. It feels good. We had one issue, and the crew came and fixed it, so there were no problems whatsoever. It's worth it because you think you're gonna get older, you won't be able to get into a tub eventually. At least it prepares the house when you get older and at least you don't have to leave it. You have a way to cleanse yourself.

The sales rep was cooperative. She filled me in on the information I needed. The installers were fast and efficient. They had the tub installed in six hours, and that was with the electrician and the tub installer. I'm a real big person and with my arthritis, even with that small entry, I have difficulty getting in and out of the tub. I solved the problem with a support pole I got on Amazon so I have something to grab onto when I get out of the tub. At first, I was thinking you had to fill the tub up to do anything. But then, I started reading the literature and I realized that you don't need to fill the tub up all the way up to take a shower. So I'm coming to terms with it. It’s a learning curve for me. But with my arthritis, I'd like to see the seat a little bit higher. Also, American Standard could add something that you can rest your feet on while you're washing them. But overall, the tub seems to be working. I enjoy it.

The walk-in bath cost about $12,000 to come in and install it. The installers came from Albuquerque and they spent two days and two nights in a motel. One of them said, “Boy, did you get a bargain.” So that was reassuring to me. My wife had a little trouble adjusting to it because she's a little bit claustrophobic. But she likes it now as well. The new commode was the frosting on the cake. We really love that seat on the toilet that they threw in as an extra. So we are more than happy. Our expectations were less than what I got.
I thought it was gonna take a long time to sit there and have the tub fill up. But I start cleaning up while I'm sitting there, I bend over, let the water run on my head and I can get my hair shampooed while it's filling. Sometimes, I even do all the scrubbing above the waist. So it turns out, I'm not spending that much more time than I would in the shower. That was surprising to me. I'm taking baths all the time now, instead of shower. I love the bath. I got lower back problems and the squirting on the lower back and the legs helps me physically. It loosens up my back so it doesn't hurt. It also helps my neurology I have in my legs and feet.
The guy that came out did a really good job. He put up a pipe up to the top edge of the roof over the patio and ran it down to about 30 feet to the other end of the patio and then went in through our maintenance room we have out there and came out the other side right into the tub. So everything was covered nicely. There are no loose wires anywhere. Everything was located within a pipe. Everything looks good. He got it to work and I'm extremely happy with it. I would recommend it to everybody. The warranty is long term and really good. But I wish American Standard gives a lifetime and 20 years warranty. So that if you sold the house, they’d have the coverage for a while. But American Standard is a good support America company.

American Standard is one of the best. We had some issues getting the tub in through the bathroom door and only their salesman was the one who said they could do it. The tub is different, not very roomy, but it's what my wife wanted. She seems to be enjoying it. Getting down into a normal bathtub is difficult at our age, and she likes to take a sitting bath occasionally. To do that, we've given up the room of moving around in this tub. I like to just take a shower most of the time but when you stand to take a shower, that's kind of tight quarters.
The biggest problem is maintaining the proper temperature. There are two faucets, one for hot and one for cold. There's no way to shut it off without losing the temp setting. You cannot have the water at the temperature you want and turn it off. We did not know that this would be the case. But it is a very difficult problem. The handheld showerhead does not have any control. Delta makes a shower, which you can have different streams of water, and there's one position where it pauses. That becomes an awkward controlling mechanism. I thought we had to buy another handheld showerhead.

We're enjoying our American Standard walk-in bathtub. We like the jets. They're very soothing and make us feel better. The sales rep was good. However, we had a little glitch with the electrician. The salesperson thought we'd have to have a sub-breaker box, but we didn't. When the electrician came, on the circuit breaker, there was a couple of them that hadn't been used. But that was okay. They adjusted it, so they gave us a refund. The installers were also wonderful, cordial and neat. They put tarps down so they wouldn't track anything into the carpet. Nice men to work with.

The sales rep of American Standard did a good job. He wasn't overly pushy. I was happy. The installation went all right. There were a few things that happened that I wasn't real happy with though. It was a small bathroom and they were working in a small area and they gouged my linoleum and my wall. I understand this happening, but they never told me they did. I didn't notice it until after they left. That I did not appreciate. But that was my only complaint. Other than that, they did their jobs and they knew how to do it. They were very accommodating and careful in bringing it in and taking it down the hallway. It was only when they had to maneuver in the bathroom that they must have had problems. It's a good product. I like that I can put the beads in there and have a scent. I found that very relaxing. I also like the jets on my feet.

The installation was good. American Standard came in first and explained what needed to be done to the floor to support the tub. I took care of that and they came back. They installed the tub in a day. The tub is of good quality. I have joint problems, so it helps me when I soak.

The sales rep did fine and everything went as well as it should. I've been enjoying the tub since now that it's installed. It needs a little more water pressure for the shower though. That seems to be an industry standard. Everybody wants to put the limiting thing in. When you’re dealing with a tub, you're still going to use the same amount of water. So having somebody control the pressure is kind of stupid. But other than that, the tub is doing well.

The sales rep was alright but the installation was a little painful. The first crew that came out had a little problem with getting things done. The second crew had to redo some stuff and it took four days just to get the tub in. Another fellow found that the wrong adhesive was put around the tub and it started pulling away from the tub and the wall. He got that straightened out for us. Things worked out. American Standard did what they were supposed to do and worked with what they had to work with.

There were a few minor problems with the installation but everything worked out okay. Outside the bathroom door is a sheet of tile and an inch or so from where they were working, they had to put a piece of wood in there - a spacer. There was a little hump sticking up. I thought was just a nail that had worked loose and I tried to hammer it down but it wouldn’t go. I pried up the edge of the tile and a screw somehow had gotten under there and that was what was poking up. I removed it and it's okay now. We like the tub. I use the spray thing mostly and I like it.

Our tub was installed in August, 2020 and when it is working, it is FANTASTIC and we love it. However, in the 11 months that we have had it, we have had 3 needs for service and each of them leaves us without a tub for a long time. The first one the drain stopped working and it took the service person 2 weeks to come and fix. The second there was a leak of incoming water from their plumbing work and it caused damage to the ceiling below the tub. That too was fixed but took a long time with no tub. Now the third, the tub electronics has stopped working - totally down. I called and they sent replacement parts that arrived in just a few days. The service man was supposed to call me and schedule the repair. That was 11 days ago and no contact.
I called Texas home office and expressed my dissatisfaction and they said they too had not heard from the service man and they said they would contact the service man and they gave me the name of a manager to speak with. So I called the manager. It has been 4 days now and he has not replied to my call. Terrible service model. Today I spoke with another person in Texas who said they would personally reach out to the service man to get him to call me and set up a time for repair. I wonder whether that will do any good. I am planning to contact the Better Business Bureau to let them know what a terrible service American Standard offers. We paid over $16,000 for our tub. You would think that we could get better service.

The man who came out was almost my age but he was knowledgeable and I trusted what he said. He wasn't a pressure salesman and I liked that. Because when they start trying to pressure me, I'm done. He was very helpful. Then, young guys came in. They were very respectful and they did a good job. They had to make my bathroom door bigger to get the walk-in bath in. Then, they put it all back together and the only thing you can even tell is because they didn't have my color of wall paint. I told them not to worry about it and that I've got the extra paint to touch up. So, I said that we would take care of that. They put the door facing back in and tightly embedded where they had to take it out. I was very impressed with them.
Everything is very good with American Standard. I love my tub and my son does too. My sister is in bad health and she can't get in the bathtub and take a bath anymore either. I told her that she has got to come and try my bathtub. So, I brought her over and showed her how to do everything and she loved it. She asked me how much it was and I asked her if she was sitting down because she needed to be. I would have liked not to have spent that much, but I still don't have buyer's remorse. I just wish I had it paid for already.

The rep came out immediately when we asked and gave us all the details, explained it all, did all the measurements that were needed, and set everything up. She was excellent. I like the features that were offered and some of the patents that American Standard have. The electrical person came about 8:00, got all the electrical set up. Then shortly after, about 8:30 or 9:00, the two people that did the demolition and installed the tub came in. They did a very efficient, meticulous job, not a lot of dirt or noise or dust, and the tub was installed by 5:00pm. We have the air jets and the regular jets, lights, and the quick drain. It was a good experience having it installed and it has been a good product. Everybody loves the walk-in tub.

I liked American Standard's quality and that it's all American made. The installation went great. The guys were very professional, cleaned up, didn't make a mess while they were doing it, and showed mom and dad how to operate everything. And overall, the tub is as good as or better than I expected. All the other ones that I had read said that they were more expensive, but it's worth it. Mom and dad are able to get in and out of it good. They love the whirlpool and the aromatherapy on it. They were thinking about a different brand, and when I told them everything that I had read about American Standard, they said they would go with that and they couldn't be happier.

The representative was very convincing and selling me the Cadillac and he was right. He went from A to Z on what to expect of the tub, how it performs, and what the installation would be. And he called the installers while he was here, described my restroom. And then they told me in turn what they would have to do to install it and I agreed. They were gentlemen. They listened. They answered my question. And the work was done quickly. There were a couple of bumps. But other than that, it was worth me calling. And I can't seem to stay out of it every day.
The one was covered with insulation trying to get to the ceiling. The only regret is the installer didn't put it back and I can't fill it up there. The electrical part was installed, but the next day it came loose from the wall. Maybe it was too hot in my restroom to give it time to stay. So I just taped it up. It's in there. It's working. And I am enjoying it very much. The only thing that I grunt and still smile is the little doorway to get in. But I love everything about that tub.
Know the difference between the 10 jets and 44 jets and what they are for. I was very happy that the rep explained it to me. I look back through all of my flyers and he was right. That was the Cadillac. Because none of the other ones that I had looked at had that many jets in there and they hit the important areas like your leg, especially my back. I postponed an injection in my back just to see how I will feel by being in this tub. And it's great. I've been taking showers now for nine years. And I wanted to sit, submerge in some water. I haven't taken a shower since I got that tub, other than to rinse off after my bath. I love it. I have three people who are thinking about getting one. I took them the flyer, made a copy. And they really are considering it. I told them to get it from American Standard.

The sales rep was very good. The installers were very good and informative, but they did some damage that they didn't tell me about, and I'm very disappointed in that. They put a chip in my toilet tank cover, and in their demo, they scratched, scraped, and chipped paint off of the covers for the vent. So, there were two bits of damages that were done that they did not tell me about, which I realized after they were long gone that that was done. I have to repaint the register, and the chip is a chip, so I'm not replacing the toilet because of a chip, but it's very obvious. Make sure that you check over the work before they leave. Because if there is something like that, you should know about it and they should have it on their work order.

I got guotes for a walk in tub, no jets, just a basic installation from American Standard and Kohler. I learned American Standard tub is plumbed differently from my bathroom. Kohler was a straight installation. Both said 1-2 days to do the job. Measured, checked hot water heater, electrical… The interesting thing is this: Both American Standard and Kohler quoted the exact same price of $16,000.00 for this job. Which, as I said to both of them, I could put an addition on my house with that money. **This is not a quote to remodel my whole bathroom.** In my opinion, I feel they are trying to take advantage of people that need or would like a walk in tub. The guy from Kohler did at least try to lower the price and did get to $14000.00 before he left.

The installation went well. The techs were quick, clean, and did everything really well. The only issue I had was that I had a leak 'cause there might be something under the door. I gotta keep wiping it that out so nothing gets in there. The tub hasn't leaked since. Other than that, I really enjoy the tub. I have lower hip and back issues. When I do a lot of work, I get in the tub and it feels so much better. If I didn't have the tub, the next day, it'd be very hard to walk. My grandkids really like the tub too.

My husband felt American Standard was a dependable name. And we had a lot of trouble with our previous no-name brand, so he wanted to go with a brand that he knew was reliable. However, we were not happy that it was a different tub than we had been looking at, and there's a 12-foot entrance into it and my husband's disabled. So, we're working with it because it's $18,000 and we're into it. He loves the tub when he's in it. It's just that the salesman was right with him the whole time and saw how crippled he was, yet he has to pull himself up because it's no walk-in, it's a jump-in. But we're not doing anything about it because that's it. That was the money to buy it.
The salespeople need to understand how the client is and what his abilities are or aren't. Instead, we got the most expensive, but it's not as user-friendly as we would have preferred, and the rep didn't make that clear. But the installation was good. The father and daughter worked very hard in it. The caulking wasn't finished as nice as it might have been. But it's okay. The tub is completely in well. Also, the plumbing is good, which was a problem before.

My wife was having a hard time getting in and out of our tub so we needed a walk-in. I happened to look at American Standard. They called me and I agreed to have somebody come in so I can get an idea of what can be done. We had an excellent salesman. He answered the questions very well and kept us on track. I liked the design of the walk-in tub and the way the salesman had everything laid out. The next thing I know, we were signing papers. The price was a little high but we’ll live with it.
But we still have one problem. We still need one more bar handle above the chair. I like the fact that the chair is well anchored into the wall. We had a bad experience at a hotel with that. They didn't use the right hardware and my wife fell and hit her head on one of those bars going around. With American Standard, it's mounted on the wall and it's good for safety. And the fact that when you're sitting in the chair, the controls are right there was a good selling point. That works out nicely. I'm not having to get up, go forward, and adjust the water temperature while something is spraying the heck out of me. I can just hold the nozzle away and adjust the temperature. When it feels good, then I'm all set. People should check out the safety features of the walk-in tub. They'll realize that it is good for senior citizens who may have trouble getting around.

We shopped around and American Standard was the way to go. Our rep was really nice, and he answered all of the questions that we presented to him so it worked out fine. The installers had an issue with the first tub that came out as the latch didn't work. They carried it back and got it fixed. Within a week, the tub was in. It was done like they said it would be done and we are really thrilled with it. We love it, especially with how quickly it drains. It was a good experience.

I talked to the representative of American Standard when she came. She was very knowledgeable. The guys who came to install were fantastic when they were here. It only took them one day, and they did a ton of work. Everything couldn't have been nicer. The only thing with me is I have terrible dry skin. So I have to clean that thing almost every time I use it. I had surgery and I have difficulty because I can't bend down and clean the floors. I can claim the upper part of it, but I can't clean the floors. So, I haven't gotten to use it as much as I would like to. As I get better, I do know that it'll help my back tremendously. My back is so bad, and it has really helped that.
My husband, Gary, got in it, which surprised the living tar out of me, and he loved it. He’s never taken a bath that I know of except for maybe when he was a child. He is a shower man, and I'm not. I hate the shower. That was the whole reason why we bought the tub because I told him, “You know, I have only one thing left on my bucket list. I want to be able to get in a tub and take a bath.” He started laughing at me. But that sparked the thought of getting something in here. The other pieces of the toilet and the sink are all American Standard and so he called American Standard.

American Standard installed a walk-in tub and a toilet in our house about 3 months ago oh. We were very pleased with the tub and the toilet. There were a few things they had to correct when it was initially installed but we were pleased with how they handled it. I called them on May 21st and told them I needed service on the tub and the toilet. The seal on the toilet was broke and is leaking into the basement. Top left and bottom right jets are not working on the tub and the handle to drain it keeps coming off. I did not hear back from American Standard so I contacted them on 61 + 63 + 64. I was told each time that it would be taken care of. I called back on 6-8 held almost five minutes before an operator answered. I was assured that the contractor will be calling me later. This was a Friday. I heard nothing when I called on six four, the person told me that they had contacted the installer Direct and he would be calling me.
I called last Friday and they assured me it would be taken care of and if not to call them back today which is Tuesday the 15th. I had to leave a message and I still have not received any resolution from them. I love their product but a lifetime warranty does not mean much when you can't get it serviced. I am very unhappy with the service I am getting from them. I am 68 and disabled and do not have the money to do the repairs myself nor should I have to. I am concerned that the toilet leaking into the basement may be causing other issues to the flooring. I have expressed this to American Standard on every call I made.

American Standard had one guy come out and he had to remove some of my door jambs in order to get the tub in because the bathroom is very small, but he did well and he put everything back. I have neuropathy and a problem in my lower leg and the tub seems to help that. I love it.

American Standard had the best price and they had the shower option. One thing I got kind of upset with was the rep told me that my water heater was good to do the job, and it isn't. I have the 40 and it was not heating up enough water to fill the tub. I have to get a new water heater to get the tub warm. The installation wasn’t too bad. The installers removed some capping on the wallboard, and they didn’t replace it. I’m looking around now to get a replacement for it. Other than that, I like my new tub. I haven't had a bath yet, but I use the shower everyday. My experience overall is pretty good.

The communication was good and so was the guy that did the job. We are satisfied and we like our new bathrooms. The only thing that I would recommend is that American Standard would provide a service where I can add a shower curtain to my purchase so we don't have to order one off Bed, Bath and Beyond and wait three weeks. A line of shower curtains their guys can install when they're done would be nice.

We worked with the installation team to decide how to do the pony walls and it was easy. So far, the tub is working perfectly. But it included a new toilet with a bidet that leaked almost immediately. It was not set right. It sits slightly higher, so they needed to use a double wax ring and they didn't. But they came back and fixed it right away. Other than that, the water jets would be nice if they were a little bit lower, so you don't have to use quite as much water in for the height.

The salesperson was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of great information. I preferred his knowledge and information over the other two. We got scheduled and then, the installers came. Apparently, the communication between the salespeople and the installers was a little lacking because they had the wrong dimensions, the wrong tub and the wrong hookup. When the installers came back, they got to work and they were quicker than I thought they would be.
I like the lights and the different kinds of jets on the American Standard walk-in bath. But when you open the door, it is very heavy and it swings in a downward motion. So maybe in a couple years, that hinge will give out. Other than that, I love it. When I'm hurting and swollen, the moment I sit in the walk-in bath, I feel better. The toilet is awesome. I love the bidet which was a bonus for purchasing the toilet. I needed to get a higher toilet than what we had so that it's not so hard for my mother to get up. Getting the walk-in is an expensive process but it is worth it. I wish they would put some kind of way to help medically for older people and people with ailments, because it offers a convenience of being able to walk in and shut the door and be okay.

We got an American Standard walk-in bath as a way of preventively avoiding falls associated with climbing over and into a regular tub. And I've always wanted a spa, a whirlpool, and this provided both. So it was a nice combination and it worked into having it indoors. Initially, we were planning to do just some resource exploration of pros and cons but we were so impressed with our salesperson that we decided to go ahead and do it. Everything went well and on schedule. The people were polite, very neat, and didn't leave a mess behind.
The only thing that we have not been satisfied with is we were planning to put a bidet that came with it. At first, we had not planned to get a bidet but that came as part of the promotion. And we were going to put that in the little bathroom, not the main bathroom. But somehow, we got persuaded that we really ought to have it in the main bathroom and it was not a good decision. So, we want to have it moved and put the bidet in the little bathroom like we had planned in the beginning. My husband has made several contacts, trying to find out how we cut off the water so that we can do it, and we've not been able to get an answer on that. I have finally hired a plumber to come tomorrow to look at it then we'll have to pay him to do it. Bu we would have liked to have had enough information that my husband, who's pretty handy with things, could have perhaps done that himself.
Other than that, we've learned that the walk-in tub is something that empties quickly and that was a plus for us because I heard that sometimes people have sat in there and wait for it to drain. I also like the fact that it's got a lot of jets. Since we're summer chickens instead of spring chickens, we're going to get some good action from that. There were some nice bells and whistles on that that we would not have sought out but it's really a nice shower. It's got pretty lights, too.
I told my husband that this is the easiest shower I've ever had because you can sit down and use the handheld shower thing. It really meets all of our needs and it will allow us to stay in our home longer. I'm still learning all the bells and whistles of it and but it doesn't seem to be overly complicated. I don't understand the bidet very well as far as the instructions for the remote and there are buttons for that which don't make a lot of sense to me. But I'm hoping that when I have time to sit down and look at the manual, I can figure them out.

The walk-in tub is expensive but we knew that when we bought it. We were satisfied with the crew that came and installed it. They were very informative and helped us with the whole lot. They took our old tub out and loaded it right in the back of my truck for me. My daughter used that bathtub so I gave it to her. It was a good size tub and me and my wife could lay in there together at the same time. And we miss that. We can't do that in the walk-in tub but we enjoy it and we love how relaxing it is. You just sit in there and sometimes, we wish we had a longer time. After so many minutes, the thing shuts off. We could almost fall asleep in there sometimes.

The air bubble soothes my legs and it’s my favorite feature of the walk-in bath from American Standard. I wish though that I had a permanent shower with it. Having to adjust the shower back and forth is impossible for me because of the arthritis. But the quality is fine and the walk-in does what I want it to do. I'm free at any time to take a bath. Before, I couldn't take one unless my husband or one of my daughters was here to help me in and out and watch me. So, that makes a tremendous difference. Last week, the air came on and we shut it off. This happened three times. Finally, the last time, my grandson held it down and it stayed shut down. And we haven't had any problems since then.

The tub works fine and helps for health reasons. But when I had a question about keeping the water warm after you get in it, I never got a response from the technicians about that.

We got bubbles coming up almost as high as the sides of the tub. It felt wonderful, everything works fine and we love it. I like the ability to sit in the American Standard tub in comfort and safety. But whatever they put down the drain in the stationary tub, the water in the tub won't drain. But now we have the walk-in tub and the shower, if we chose to go back to that.

The rep I had was wonderful and he explained everything. Our American Standard walk-in tub was installed and I was so impressed with the workers' workmanship, the way they handled themselves in my home, and the way they cleaned up behind themselves. When they got there, they said that before they bring in the tub to start installing, they wanted us to make sure it was everything we expecting it to be. I wanted to make sure this was everything the salesman told me it was. I wanted to really look at it and feel the faucet. The salesman had shown me one and I wanted to make sure I was getting that quality. I'm very satisfied. I never even expected that I would love the walk-in tub.

My rep was very nice and polite. I was very impressed by him. The crew installed my walk-in tub in a day. It was probably about nine hours. They cleaned up after themselves and they went far beyond my expectations. I'm very pleased with my tub overall.

The installation of our walk-in tub took three days. The crew had to knock out a wall. The installers were very good workers and worked into the evening. After everything was done and installed, my husband said, "I thought we had someplace to put soap." We didn't have any kind of racks in the shower. We only had little rails to hold on to. He called the salesman twice and left a message but was never called back. We went on and ordered some racks and a guy came in and put some in for us.
I'm having trouble with the showerhead as it won't come out more than 12 inches. The retractable part won't go back in. Another thing I don't like is the manual drain right there in front. When you get into the tub, you put it on the manual drain to lock it. When you flip it up, it doesn't always open as it should. When you drain it, it wants to fall back down again. I have to keep screwing it really tightly. It seems real loose to me. My husband comes in, tightens it up, and fixes it. Those issues aside, everything is fine. I don't have any regrets about getting the tub. It uses a lot more water than I thought. I was reading directions to clean it and it said to fill the tub up with hot water, run soap in it, drain it then fill it up again. That's an awful lot of water. But any tub is gonna use that much.

Christensen responded to the questions that we had and had the information. We didn't decide immediately to buy the tub. But he was there. He was open and willing to work with us when we asked him to do something. One of the things that the installers were needing to do with the design of our bathroom was to put in a reverse filler. I sent Keith some pictures of our bathroom and he decided that we needed to have the tub open on the other side of the bathroom so that the door was not being blocked by the toilet where it was. It used to be that the water would come in on the east side of the bathroom. Now the faucets for the bathtub are on the west side of the bathroom so that worked out pretty well.
We like the tub. My wife likes to go in there and sit fairly often. We have a daughter that is staying with us for a while and she very much likes to sit in that too. The massage therapy with the bubbles and the water jets make both of them much more relaxed. We have a five-year-old grandson, and what we like to do with him and what he enjoys doing very much is filling up the foot part of the tub. The tub is set up so that you can just have the jets and stuff come out on that lower level around your legs and your feet. Sometimes, he likes to have those come out and give him some stimulation while he's taking a bath too.

My father bought a walk-in tub for my mother. The only negative about the whole experience was it was obvious that a 40-gallon hot water heater would be insufficient to fill the bathtub up. There is a clause in the contract that says if it's not good enough, there would be a $500 rebate. My father didn't understand but a checkmark was put next to something that said he understood that it was a problem. If the salesman looked to see it was a 40, it was obvious that we might need to spend another 800 on a bigger hot water heater.
I used to be in sales a little bit. I would feel funny if I was going to sell a bathtub to someone and didn't necessarily tell the person that the current hot water heater isn't going to fill up the tub. I just sold the person a $20,000 bathtub. The way I look at it now is out of $20,000, American Standard gave a $500 coupon. That was probably fair to do. A better approach would be is to tell the customer they are giving him $500 to buy a bigger hot water heater. Other than that, we love our tub. We got the other hot water heater installed two days ago and my mother took her first bath.

Everything worked out right with American Standard's crew. I like the walk-in tub that they installed. But one thing specifically that I didn't like about it is the shower part of it. It would have been better if the shower was built-in, instead of having to use the shower wand. Also, I had a hard time getting the shower curtain to work. I had to go to a different source to get the shower curtain and shower rod. They're a little more expensive and kind of hard to deal with. American Standard should start selling those.

The sales representative was kind, funny, and did his job. He answered every one of my questions and my husband's. I asked questions and the installers answered and showed me everything before they left. I couldn't believe how quickly they were done and every one of them was very friendly. I was like, “Wow!” I love the bathtub. Number one, I got it because I'm on disability. I've been falling off and on for about a year now and they can't tell me why. I lost my footing and I fell so hard that I got terrified to take a bath. Now my legs don't bother me as badly as they did. Number two, because I'm able to sit down, I don't have all those dizzy spells that I was having. Then I'm actually able to take a bath for the first time in years. Just being able to soak in a bathtub is nice. We've already recommended it to three people.

The American Standard rep was very professional. The installers were also very professional. They left everything clean, and it was done very well. There are bars and jets. And the tub was what I expected. It’s easier for me because I got to the point where my back is so severe, I could not get in and out of a bathtub. And I know I can stay in my home. I knew I had to do something else besides the standard tub. For health reasons. However, I'm still waiting for the rebate that I'm supposed to get. I referred another customer, and I was told I would get a $1,000 rebate.

The installer showed up exactly when he said he was going to. We had to widen some doors and we had to move our electric socket. We had to change the drain around and this one guy knew how to do all of that. He did a wonderful job. He was here for two days, and he stayed till 10:00 at night working on that thing. Everything went fine. I love the tub. It's very relaxing. It makes you feel great. I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. We were scared of me getting in and out of the conventional shower and falling. But with the American Standard walk-in tub, I just take a shower and not have to worry about falling. Even if I don't use the whirlpool type thing. I just get in, take a shower and get back out. But that whirlpool is still fabulous.
The tub has more jets than any other tub around on the market. Also, it came with a free commode, and we love the commode. When we built this house 50 years ago, all the plumbing fixtures in here were American Standard and when I replaced them, I wanted to replace them with American Standard because it had lasted so long without any problems.

I’ve always known American Standard was the best plumbing supplies. I owned a little hotel, and I had an American Standard boiler. It was the best. It was over 50 years old, and it was still running. I had to take it out because nobody had parts for it. But it was definitely better than the new one that we put in. I am 79 years old, and I'm trying to stem off going to a nursing. And that's why I got the walk-in tub. It’s very expensive. It’s $16,000. But the guys who that put it in were really good. But I told them, and I told the man that was here from down in Manchester, the man that sold it to me, I wanted to be able to open the windows next to the tub. I had to watch out when they put it in and not put it in too close. But they did, and I can’t open those windows. If they just moved it half an inch or more out toward the center of the bathroom, we would have been all right. But they cut it too short. Other than that, I’m perfectly satisfied with it.
The tub has the express drain that drains it very quickly, and I don’t use that. I’m just afraid it will overdo my septic system. The other drain is fast enough for me. The lights are good. When I drop the soap, I can find it. And I like the jets. They work good. Each one of us uses it once or twice a week.

I'm very satisfied with the tub. I like the convenience of it, being able to use the jets, and being able to get in and out. It's just that the showerhead could be improved. The one we have is small, but I can still walk in and take a shower. We just need a larger one. Other than that, I called in and gave American Standard two referrals.

American Standard's name is well-known for many years with good quality. The rep was very informative. Also, the installation went very well. I love the tub. Being in the warm water helps my bones. And the jets are almost like a massage on me. So, it helps my arthritis and pain level, as well as getting me clean at the same time.

We liked the time American Standard's tub could get here. We were somewhat in a hurry because of the medical condition that the wife is suffering. We were happy with the installers and happy enough with the sales rep. We had one little issue with the tub and the cure time it took was a longer than it should have. It wasn't a big problem. But we got one story one day from the lady we called on the 800 number. And then a few weeks later, I called again because nothing happened, and got a different story. That wasn't horrible but it was not the greatest in the world. Also, the price is a little on the higher side. But we're happy with the service, the quality of the material and workmanship. We noticed a bit of customer service that was coming years ago. American Standard seems to be customer service oriented.

I thought the tub would work out well for me but I’m finding that it doesn’t. I fell after I was in it and I had three or four weeks of doctor's things concerning that. I'm also claustrophobic in there. I thought about getting ahold of American Standard to see what it would take to return it. I'd rather they just contact me about doing something about it.

I like the features on the American Standard and the warranty the best. Also, I got two other estimates and American Standard was $4,000 higher than the others. But it had features and the stuff that I wanted, like the way it has a heater in it that maintains the water temperature. It doesn't heat the water, it just maintains the temperature you want. And it also has the power drain feature on it. It took three minutes to get it down almost to the bottom of the door. Then, once it goes off, you have to sit there a few minutes. But it sure wouldn’t be as long as if you sit there for that whole tub.
The one disappointment for us is the slab bar with the shower. I can't find a way with ours to put a curtain up in it to keep the water off the floor. No matter how I put it, standing up in it with the shower, it will go around the tub some and go off onto the floor. It's an issue that when that water hits on top of my head and splashes over on the side of it, it’s gonna drain off. And it will drain off some of it on the floor.
We had a bit of installation issue that was partly our fault. The wife was in the hospital at the time that they were supposed to start. Then, I called and said I wanted to delay it. And then my son-in-law and daughter said, “Wait a minute. We can sit there for them so they can go.” So, I called them back and they said, “Okay.” So they came the day after whenever we had originally planned for. I was gone for most of the installation because of staying at the hospital with her during the day.
Two of them showed up on the first day. One of them wasn’t feeling well. That was the last day he was here. One person did the rest, except the first day. So it took a bit longer than was expected. But the gentlemen came in most of the time at 8:30 in the morning, and he would still be here when I get here sometimes after 7:00 in the evening. So I was more than happy with his efforts. Everything worked. It just took a little longer than we anticipated.

The installation was done in less than a day and nothing was disturbed. From start to end, everybody was great. The American Standard walk-in bathtub is wonderful. It’s got all these jets that come out and soothe your muscles and you get relaxed, and it’s just a nice feeling. I should have had it a long time ago.

We talked about getting a walk-in tub because we’re approaching 80 years old, and we plan on staying in this house. I happened to look into the local people that do home repairs and American Standard popped up. I called them then the salesman came out. He explained everything to us and we decided to go with them. The installers who came from Cincinnati which is about three or four-hour drive arrived in the afternoon and went straight to work. They came back the next day and they finished it up. They said they didn't place the order on the truck and so they missed my seat as I wanted one in my shower. I have a hard time bending over and trying to get the bottom of my feet.
Then the bottom of my shower leaks in my bathroom and the water goes into my basement and lands on my washing machine. They didn't caulk it quite right. They also didn't turn the shower on to see if there were any leaks in there. When we turned it on the first time and used it, I didn't go downstairs and see it until my wife took a shower after me then she went down and saw that water was dripping. I called them up and they took the information. They said they’d get back to me. I told them as long as they could get it done within a month, I'd be happy with it. I paid a lot of money for that shower and I wanted them to come back. Now my wife and I have been putting a towel where the water is going to and it doesn't leak in the basement. But I'm happy with the service. I was impressed with the company and with the people who put it in. They were pleasant and they told me some of the stuff on what they were doing.

I loved the sales rep from American Standard. She was great. Installation was difficult though. It took two whole days. There was a lot of toing and froing for a couple of days. They were nice, but it was very slow. Other than that, I'm happy as a pig. I like the bubbles, and we can get in so easily.
