I had a problem getting in and out of a regular tub, so a walk-in tub was the alternative to go to. The American Standard in-home sales rep that came out was very efficient and explained everything. Likewise, the people who installed the walk-in tub were very efficient and they were in and out of here in no time. The customer service reps knew what they were doing and they let us know what they were doing. They should keep doing what they're doing. I love my tub. If a walk-in tub is what you need, then it's worth the expense having it done by American Standard.

We had gotten an American Standard walk-in tub for my mother. We liked American Standard's features more than the other companies'. The interactions with their rep were all good and everything worked out really well. The rep's knowledge of their products was very good and he was very professional. The installers did perfectly too. The installation went smoothly and everything went exactly as they said. My mother loves the tub. She wishes she had gotten it 10 years earlier.

It has been more than a year since I got my American Standard walk-in tub. I wanted to have a tub because I have back issues and I can’t get into the shower. The sales rep was very good. Everything went smoothly and I was very happy, but the man who came out to sell us the tub said it was gonna be this amount, and then when it was finally done, it was much, much more. We showed the reps the paper from the man who sold us the tub and they said that he made a mistake. Since the tub was already there, we ended up paying for the full price. Other than that, we like the tub and I'd recommend American Standard walk-in tub to a friend.

I had a problem with my left hip, and when I sit in a regular tub, I can't get out. We decided to try American Standard and the rep was nice and friendly. The installers were professional and they did a good job in making sure that we understood what to do to use the tub. They also told us to let them know if we had any problems. The tub is a good thing to have if you can't get in and out of a regular bathtub and you don't like showers.

I've been very pleased with American Standard. The only problem I had was that I was fixing some problems caused by the installation that was not as it should have been. They didn't seal the toilet when they put it in, and then they didn’t seal around the tub between the tub and the floor. I had to call them back to put this sealing in. Also, when they put my score, they took a portion of the doorjamb off. When they put it back, it wasn’t a very good look. And I'm noticing right now that the sealing on the side of the tub has to be redone. Nonetheless, the tub works very well and I like it better than my old one. The handle that lets me out of the tub works. I had a walk-in tub before and we couldn’t get to the handle to fix it. It was so sealed in there that there was no way to take the handle off. Plus my husband who has dementia loves it. He didn’t initially, but once we were able to get him in, he has enjoyed it because it helps him get cleaned.

I was looking at the warranty, timeframe, as well as what was offered in the American Standard Walk-In Baths package and when I compared it with the companies, decided that that’s the one I was gonna try. Their rep was very easygoing, wasn’t pushing the issue, very informative, had no stupid questions and just really relaxed. The installers were nice fellows too. They were very good about keeping clean as far as when they take the bathroom themselves when everything was done. They were very careful in bringing the things in. They laid out cloth to make sure they wouldn’t damage anything. They took care of things if they needed to efficiently. The timeframe was just like what they said it would be. We had a small area that they had to fit the tub into but they did a good job. The tub was put in nicely.
I’m glad of the aftereffect although at first, I didn’t realize how I could adjust the shower. Also, those little things that make the aroma weren’t impressive. If anything, it brought out the smell that I thought is in its strength, so I haven’t bought any more of those. I don’t really use that part of the tub. Another thing, the whole idea for the seat height was so that my husband could sit down and get up without any trouble but the water can only come up so high. I wish that the seat could’ve been lowered at some point so that he could be down under the water but I know I can’t have both. I’m sure all the mechanics are underneath the seat, so the seat could not come up and down. That could be something that the company can look into in the future.
Other than those, I like the extra space behind so we could put the shampoos there. Also, American Standard was good about giving us the bars for support. They gave us an extra one because my husband was needing it in another area. The whirlpool works fine too. We have to sit and wait but it could be with our water system. They told us that it only goes in and comes out as fast as our system will allow it but it’s not like it’s too much of a wait. Overall, it’s a good deal and I enjoy it. I have already recommended it to someone who was thinking about a tub.

The in-home sales representative from American Standard was there for 20 minutes. He was the first one to come to demonstrate and he sounded good. He explained everything we needed to know and he was very courteous. We asked questions and he knew the answers to them. My husband was there when they installed the tub. I’m 100% satisfied and perfectly happy with it. My husband fell in July and broke his hip so I was really glad we did it when we did.

I've gotten American Standard all my life. The sales rep knew what he was doing and it was all a happy affair. I had really good interactions with the installation team as well, and the tub was working fine. I'm surprised that it's kind of hard to get in it though, and I think the step up should be lower. Also, about a month ago, it started blowing the breaker and now it won't work. I need somebody to come and fix the thing. My experience with American Standard is not very good right now, but they may get the tub fixed and there won't be a problem. And when my wife was able to use the tub, she said she felt better when she was in it.

I had my knees replaced and it wasn't done right, and I had to have it done again and I had a hard time. I looked up American Standard in The Yellow Pages and the rep who came seemed to know what he was talking about. He explained the whole thing to us, showed us pictures and how fast they would have it put in. It would only take one day and it would be ready to go. The installation team took my other tub out and put their tub in replacement, and then they built what had to be built around it. I love it and I would definitely tell a friend to get one.

The sales rep from American Standard was really good. He knew what he was talking about, gave all the information and answered all the questions that I had. Also, the workman did a good job installing the tub. Anytime that I need somebody to come out to look at it, I just give them a call and they send somebody out. I have back issues and hip issues, and the tub really helps alleviate some of the pain and get the heat to the muscles and get them working again. I love it.

The American Standard reps answered everything okay and had all the different things I was gonna use. The tub is great and it's nice to relax in it. It runs as long as I want it to, and it keeps the water hot as it has an in-line heater in it. It also has 44 jets, plus I like the lights and the aroma smell. I’ve told everybody that I know about it, and people in my family wanna come out and use mine instead.

I wanted a walk-in tub put in and I was gonna get three bids. The first one came out and I told him I was checking out two more bids, but he got insistent that I sign that day. American Standard was the second one to come out, and we were impressed. The rep did a good representation and he told us all about the tub. My husband stood by and watched the tech install it for two days, and he was very impressed with all of the mechanism and stuff of it. I was embarrassed right after we got it because the stopper came out and we thought it broke off. We called American Standard and they sent a man from Houston to fix it. It wasn’t broken and I was embarrassed about that, but he was very nice. They even mailed us the parts to fix it when he got here. The bulbs are getting weak as they're not glowing like they should, but otherwise, we haven't had any other problems.

The first guy that came out wasn't American Standard, and he told me how bad American Standard tubs were. When the guy from American Standard came out and did a presentation, I saw the difference. I saw the purple light that made the water, and I said I gotta have it. The tub is like a tranquilizer. I get in it and I'm knocked out. I'm off ready to go to sleep no matter what time I get in. I love it. I recommend them to a lot of folks.

I wanted a walk-in tub for my special needs daughter and I was Googling. I saw an American Standard Walk-In Tubs advertisement and the ad looked good. However, I was disappointed because their ad was misleading. I went with their tub because the ad said it had a lower in-step, but it didn’t tell us how high the tub is off the ground. The step is much higher, so it is difficult for my daughter to get in and get out. We still need two people to help her get in and two people to help her get out.
The salesman that came out here was wonderful. He was very friendly and very nice, and he said the tub would be installed in just two days. However, he misled us because the installation took five days. The repairman said that the salesman didn’t realize how long it takes to install. Nonetheless, the installation was great. I love the tub, but right now, we’re having a problem. Our house was flooded and we called American Standard, and right away, they said not to use the tub. They sent us a box of parts and because they have a lifetime guarantee, they said that they would have to send someone out to service the tub and replace the parts. However, It has been three months and I keep calling. American Standard asked if the serviceman has been out. I said no and they called another company to come out.
The other company called but said that they don’t service that kind of tub, so we are back to square one again, and that is where we are at right now. We don’t have anyone to service our tub. I’ve really enjoyed the tub, but I would like to use it. I was told not to use it because the electrical parts were flooded and I’m afraid to turn it on. I would like to use the bathtub part of it, but I’m not sure if I should because of the drain. It drains in two minutes and that is very impressive, but I’m not sure if I should use it because that is electrical too. I contacted American Standard last week and they were supposed to send someone out to take care of it. I spent a lot of money on this tub, but it seems like American Standard might be going out of business. It scares me that I may not to be able to have it serviced or be able to use it.

American Standard is top-notch and I've always known about them for years 'cause that's the type of stuff that I have in the house. Their rep came here and asked what we were looking for in a tub. We told him about what we did for a living and that it would be nice to have something where we could go in to sit and soak. He then went in and made sure that everything was gonna fit right. Then we came back to the living room and he sat down on the couch between us and showed us how much the tub would cost, how it would be done and how long it would take. He is one of the most wonderful salesmen that I've ever seen. Normally, salesmen wanna come and spend 30 minutes, and they want us to buy right then. But he was not pushy at all. He came from Morristown. So, he would spend whatever amount of time he needed to make sure we were clear on what was gonna be done. And everything that he said was exactly as it was.
The installation team came in here, put down stuff on the floor to walk in and to take it back to where the bedroom is. They were great and very professional. They also vacuumed and cleaned up after themselves, and you'd never know they were here. Then a little line came on the caulking, which normally happens as it dries. But I decided to re-caulk it and made a mess. So, I called the sales guy and told him what I had done and asked him if he could have the installers come back out when they're in this area and redo it for me. He snickered a little bit, but he said yes. And within two days, their installer was here and it didn't take him 15 minutes to do the caulking. He even asked if he needed to leave the same color of caulk for me in case I decided to do it again.

My son was here and he googled American Standard Walk-In Baths. He found out that their closest place was in San Antonio. They came in and in no time, they were done. They were very helpful for the way I wanted things and I was pleased. They did well. He had to change my faucets from one end to the other and he was congenial about that. I also had a big steel bathtub in there he had to saw into, and that was a little job. He did it fast and I was pleased about that. He also cleaned up good after he got done with it and had everything loaded. I had a good experience. I have bragged in the last couple of years that I’ve had American Standard to others but most of them think the prices are too high. I told them that they don't have the quality and I do.

My husband was ill at the time and we needed something for him to sit in. American Standard's good name and being around a long time made me decide to go with them. It helped my husband because he had reached the point where even taking a shower was difficult for him. With American Standard, when he had a lot of pain in his back, he could get in there and sit with the jets. It seemed to help him relieve his pain. My husband passed away but while he was alive, he really, really enjoyed it. It’s a good product.
The man who sold it to us was knowledgeable, very nice, considerate and polite. The people that installed it did a great job. They had to go down our basement and go through the floor, and they took very good care of the home. They didn’t make a mess and what they did make, they cleaned up very nicely. They didn’t interfere nor bother us in any way. They were all very polite. Our house is a log house and the floors were a bit different with what they were used to deal with. They sent a crew back and they fixed what we needed fixed, and we were very pleased with the whole experience. I still have it and I use it mainly as a shower with the attachment. When the kids come home, they do that too. American Standard bathtub can be very comforting and relaxing. It is expensive but we got our money’s worth.

The American Standard tub looked like a good one and I like some of the features that the tub has over the others. The rep was helpful. He had some videos that he showed us to get an idea of what the tub was like. However, it took a while for the technicians to install it. They had to tear out the old tub to get it out. There was a total of about four days installing the new tub. But they just had the one room torn up and that worked very well.
The door of the tub is too small. My wife is gaining quite a bit of weight in the last few years and she has trouble getting in and out of the tub. I see that some of the tubs now have doors. They’re narrow at the bottom and wider at the top. I don’t remember seeing that prior to purchasing this new one, but I didn’t look. And I never gave that a thought that the door was going to be as narrow as it has turned out.
The tub has worked very well but it doesn’t drain like American Standard's advertisement says. It gets down to where there are about two or three inches of water left in the bottom and it takes forever. I’ve been meaning to call and have a technician come back and look at it because I can’t imagine what the problem is. Nevertheless, the tub is easy to use and it's easy for me to get in and out of it. I would recommend American Standard to others but I would also recommend that they look at the door on the tub and look at their bodies, and make sure they’re gonna be able to get in and out because that could be a problem.

We’ve had the American Standard tub for a few months, but it quit working and it took me over a month to get somebody out here, calling them repeatedly. I called everybody in the company. I even called the attorney general up in the state they are located in trying to get some help, but nobody would respond. They told me somebody was gonna come, but they never did, and it went on for a month or so. It turned out it was their problem. When they put the tub in, they wired it wrong and it burned the wires up and burned the motor in it. It was a horrible experience.
I finally got somebody here, but I ran into just a regular guy. He didn’t even work in the department that repairs stuff. He found somebody and got him over here, and the guy did a great job. He said they had to wire it because the tub wouldn’t run right and it didn’t have a ground wire on it, so it burned the motor up. It could have been much worse. I couldn’t find anybody that really cared enough to get it fixed and nobody ever followed up on anything. They would tell me the techs were coming but would never follow up to ask if they came.
They responded so poorly and it was really terrible, although the Hispanic guy that helped us was terrific. It wasn’t even his job, but he decided he was gonna help us get it fixed and he did. There is supposedly a lifetime guarantee, but American Standard couldn’t get it fixed and it was bad. I would be really hesitant to recommend them to anybody. The piece of equipment is fine when it’s working. It has worked ever since and my wife loves it. We use a bunch of American Standard. I built houses for 33 years and I always have had good success with it, but the tub was a different experience. I haven’t even heard from them since we got it fixed.

I'm familiar with the brand name American Standard and it's a good brand. The sales rep was great and easy to work with. He answered all the questions and was very nice. The installation of the tub was also great. One man worked on my tub and he was quick. And then they had a few other people at the end to make sure he did those correctly.
I'm able to take a bath with the walk-in, which is great. However, the tub stopped working. I was in it and it just shut down. I had a lot of trouble getting people to call me back. This was a very expensive tub compared to other walk-in tubs, even though I got a discount on it. Getting the issue fixed got dragged down at least two months. I was really frustrated because they wouldn't call back. The call was escalated several times and eventually, I called the salesman and told him that I really needed service on this tub. He was very concerned. After that, their people came out but the problem wasn't quite fixed. They came out a second time and fixed it. Since then, I haven't had any trouble. Everything else has been great. I love the tub and it has really been helpful.

I choose American Standard over another walk-in bathtub company when they threw in the free stand-in toilet. I had a 100% great interaction with their sales and installer. They were professional, courteous, and know everything. I have my own business and I have no problem with the guys. I have scoliosis and the walk-in tub works great for me when I'm in Oregon. Still, I'm a snowbird and I’m in Arizona right now so I wish the tub can travel with me. My girlfriend had a bad back and she came up this summer. I put her in the walk-in tub one time and she hasn't had back problems since.

American Standard was very easy to work with. The sales rep was willing to answer our questions, talked about what we wanted to talk about and told us things that he thought we might have missed. The installation team was in and out of here. I had a couple of questions and they’ve been absolutely great. At first, I'm not too happy about the step being higher than some of the other brands out there. But with an eye to the future, they have a panel that comes out so that you could use it like a Hoyer lift to get someone in and out. That is a really great feature that I didn’t realize until after it was in and the installer was explaining it to us. I would definitely recommend American Standard Walk-in Baths.

My daughter told me about the walk-in tub of American Standard and I looked into it. They're very reliable. I like the company and I have a lot of their fixtures, so I went with them. The sales rep was good, but he was overactive and a little anxious to sell the tub that he sold to me. The guy that installed the tub said that they haven't had that tub in years, so I think I got a tub that they were trying to get rid of. I bought the walk-in tub, but I didn't get the right tub because it doesn't have a heated seat and sometimes I'm not happy with it. Other than that, I had a great experience with the installer. There were a lot of things that he had to redo and he was good. I like our walk-in tub. I use it only twice a week and I use the other bathroom's shower. Sometimes, though, I wish that I had kept my shower. Nevertheless, I would tell people who ask me about the American Standard walk-in tub to go for it.

I got a free commode with the walk-in tub, so I went with American Standard. Their in-home sales representative was terrific. He's a nice man and so handsome. He was friendly and so sincere about how much he loved the tub. When the installation team came out to install our tub, they did okay. But the part where the water goes out of tub was broken, so they had to come back and fix that, and then the tub worked okay. Since we got the tub, though, my husband got so ill and I don't have time to sit and luxuriate in it. It's okay, but I don't use the full tub very often. We spent a whole lot of money on this tub when my husband was still well, but I wouldn't have gotten it had I been approached now to get it. Nevertheless, I like it and it would have been fine if my husband had not gotten sick. Even so, it's gonna be good if we wanna sell the house and it would add value because our bathroom is really nice.

I liked the American Standard tub first because of those mini detectors. I had good interactions with the reps. I bought my walk-in tub and they gave me a free American Standard toilet. The installation crew did very well and the project took one day. If you want to relax or have a good bath, try American Standard. I love them.

We called American Standard and the salesman came out and showed us the tub. I am pleased with the tub and the only thing that I was not pleased about, that I found out about later is that the tubs have different heights, and I would have liked to have a deeper tub than what I have. He didn’t tell us that they were different heights of tubs. He just told us the height of tub that he thought I needed or something. When I'm in the tub, I know it shouldn't go over my shoulders but it should come up right to my shoulders and it doesn’t. So, I needed a tub that was probably six or eight inches taller.
Other than that, everybody was nice and easy to work with. There was a problem with something that happened to it and they came out and fixed it. So I'm happy with that. Also, the installers were very efficient and neat about it. They came early and finished by the end of the day. I would tell others I liked the tub but make sure they get the height that they need.

I was in the mood for doing something different in the bathtub and the rep from American Standard came out and did his presentation. I asked questions and he seemed very knowledgeable so I decided to go with it. The installation went very well and the installers were very good and professional. They had to do a little bit extra to get the tub through the doorway and they repaired it so it was like it naturally did. They did such a nice job and the installation was probably the best deal of the whole thing.

I thought American Standard was the best and that's why I decided to let them install a walk-in bathtub. The installation went very well and if I had to get another one, I would like to get the same people to do it. I'm doing the best I can with my bathtub although my right knee is bandaged up and I can't let the water run like I want to.

The reps at American Standard were very good and the installation was fast and quick. They did a very professional job. I am a shower taker and although I don't like it that much because there's not much room for taking a shower, it does everything else. Once in a while, I do take a bath and I like the jets and stuff in it. They help out, especially if my back is sore. My wife uses it as well and likes it. Also, I wish the area where I'm standing is a little wider and give me a little room to turn around but other than that, it's okay.

My wife had a stroke and we tried to find a way to help her be able to get in and out of the bathtub easily. We thought that a walk-in bathtub might be a good way for us to go. We looked at a few walk-in bathtubs in the big-box stores and decided we wanted to go with a company that had a national reputation. So, we called American Standard and their sales rep did a great job. We looked at all the options and he explained what was happening. He also told us how long it would take and he was more than willing to take a look at our old bathroom and made sure that it would work for us.
Then, the installation team came, took out the old tub and put in all the new equipment. They left the place spotless and showed us how it works. They did a great job and we felt very comfortable when they left. My wife and I love the tub. We could get in and take a quick shower then get out. I called American Standard, and they sold me. However, I’m a little bit disappointed that I didn’t shop more. The guy rushed me, but that was his job. I like the tub, but I paid too much for it. I might have chosen a different company if I had looked around. I’ve seen another tub that opens at the end rather than the side, which might have been easier to get into. Nevertheless, the installation went very well and the quality of the tub is excellent.

I liked the American Standard tub's easy access. I got in touch with them and the rep I worked with was knowledgeable, courteous, and shared information freely. The installation team was really good as well. They were also very courteous and got the job done. They went over how to use the tub and all the things that came with it very thoroughly. I love the tub. I've had both knees replaced and some other surgeries, and the tub's jets and everything make it easier for me to move.

American Standard has a lifetime guarantee, so I went with them without going to look at others. I had a pleasant experience with their rep. There was a one-on-one exchange and a push but I had the opportunity to ask and receive answers. When the product was put in, the installation team was very courteous, aware that they were taking up space that I normally occupy, and they worked efficiently without any problems. I loved my experience with American Standard.

American Standard had a great product and their walk-in tub had a lot of features that I thought my mom would enjoy. I bought the tub for my mom’s home. I wanted her to have something that would be exceptionally reliable, and it is. Also, American Standard had a history in the business. Their sales rep was outstanding and very knowledgeable. He was also attentive and responded to any questions that I had afterward. But, the tub was way too expensive. My mom does not use most of the tub's features, and she uses the tub like a shower. She would just sit there and wash up versus sitting there, turning on the jets and lights. I have bought a second tub for my own home when she visits here, and I bought what I could find online and that has been fine. I would never spend $11,000 again on an American Standard tub because it was too much money for the services we get out of it.

I have rheumatoid arthritis all over my body and I’ve had a stroke. American Standard Walk-In Tubs had the best buy and the best quality and they were made in the United States. I called and then I had three different people to come out. Their reps were very nice. One rep played the video and ran down everything to my son and me. We watched it together and it was beautiful. I was very pleased with that and the installation was good too. The jets on the tub have been awesome for the swelling in my feet and legs. Those really helped my joints. I’m feeling so much better with the tub and with the medication. So far, the tub has been a blessing to me and I would recommend it.

American Standard has a name that I knew so I bought from them and the sales rep was a nice guy. He was well-informed in his product. Also, the installation went well. It took about eight to nine hours and they got done quicker than I thought. We love the tub and my wife uses it once or twice a week. I would recommend American Standard. They’ve done a good job.

I saw a TV advertisement for the American Standard Walk-In Tub when I was waiting for my son to finish a procedure at a hospital and I decided to have one put in. The thing cost more than our first house. But my wife and I are 83 years old and we bought our first home when we were about 24. That house cost $13,000 and this tub costs a little more than that. Other than that, the gentlemen who installed it was excellent. At first, I didn't know how the two men that would install it were gonna get the tub into the existing bathroom because they widened the door and I was really worried after they took the whole wall down. They took parts of the door jamb out and put it all in, then they put everything back together. They also had to take out an existing old cast iron-enameled light tub. In fact, they had to break it up to get it out. In the end, everything worked out well. The tub looks fantastic and the quality is wonderful.

I have a cousin who has American Standard and I have bad knees so I got their walk-in tub. My whole family was here so the 2 salesmen had to put up with a lot of questions. They were pretty friendly. I told them if they didn’t quit calling me "ma'am" pretty soon, I was gonna get mad at them. The person who did the installation explained and went over the tub a couple of times with me before he left. I can take a bath now instead of just showers. I like soaking in it the tub because it helps my knees. I can exercise the knees practically in the tub. I like it and I would recommend it.

We had a very nice interaction with the American Standard in-home sales representative who came out and also had a very good experience with the installation team. They came to get everything done in half a day, which wasn’t long. The walk-in tub is convenient for me since I don’t have to stand up long to take a bath. American Standard has been very helpful and I don’t have any problem with them. I encourage my friends that if it’s possible for them to get American Standard, then they do it.

My house was built 1924 and it had a beautiful eagle claw cast iron bathtub. I got into it without any water to see how easy it is to get in and out but I couldn't get out of it. Even my wife couldn't help me get out of it. After about half an hour, we finally got me on my hands and knees and I was able to get up and get out. We then decided a walk-in tub was what we needed. We interviewed a couple of companies and they were a nickel and dime different. The salesman for American Standard was delightful and we decided to go with him. His knowledge for their product was total.
American Standard managed to do all the installation in a day but to do it, they had to take the framing off of the door so it would get in. They put it all back together nicely but I'm gonna need to do a little touch-up painting on it. Also, it had a breaker that was inside the tub itself and it shut off and I couldn't get the tub to do anything. Fortunately, I don't have to have it electrically hooked up to drain it. They came out and fixed it and they would shut it off at the breaker box so I could easily reset it and I was really happy with it. Now, I can bathe. We're totally satisfied with their fix and repairs and I would recommend them to anybody.

The American Standard salesman that came out was already retired but had been called back to do a presentation for us. He was very professional, answered all our questions and we decided to get it. Paul and a couple of other workers came out from the Pittsburgh area, and by all respects, they did a fantastic job during installation. They were professional in every way. We checked over everything, and nothing has malfunctioned since then. They worked hard steadily and seemed knowledgeable.
The only thing is the caulking between the width of the longer side, is pulled away as it reached the wall, so I'm careful not to get the water in there. It's just a small crack that you can see that the water would go down there if you let it. My brother was visiting about a month ago, and he said I ought to caulk that up and make sure it's not a problem.
One thing I also learned about the tub is that it's a 60-gallon tub, and I had a 50-gallon water heater so when you get almost full, it runs cold. I changed my heating system. I was gonna get either a larger water heater or one of those tank-less water heaters. I started on the gas, tank-less water heater which actually is a good thing for the whole house because now we have more than enough hot water at any time. It's makes 9.8 gallons per minute. Then the kicker was on the gas and electric bills. The gas stayed the same and the electric bill went down $20 a month so that was sweet.
I understand now they have the ones with the heated seat. It circulates the water and keeps it warm. I've just been able to regulate it with the hot and cold water and the tank-less water heater. I can increase the temperature of the water at the unit and it stays warm enough. If I keep the door closed, I turn a little space heater on just to keep warm air in the room. I like warm air when I'm showering or bathing anyway. It's a very good sturdy unit, and it behaves well. American Standard is only offering the ones with the heated seat or recirculated heated water but I don’t see that as a problem.
If the water hasn’t reached the seat, then I'll just take a large cup and bathe it with some hot water, and I'll sit down right away. I found that the materials in the tub hold heat in so the side gets warm and hot, then it stays that way as long as the water's around it. I would recommend it to a friend. In fact, my regular plumber in town came by, and I was showing him the tub. He seemed excited about it. He said he has never really seen one and he finally saw one. I said, "Well, as you age, you have more stability in this walk-in tub, and you're not gonna slip-fall like you would in the shower or even in a regular bathtub." It's pleasant taking a bath sitting down.

I knew someone who got a walk-in tub from American Standard and liked it. Also, I was having medical problems and it all came together. The sales reps were professional. They arrived on time even though they came from the other part of the state. They covered everything and made sure it was cleaned up. They also answered my questions and showed me how it worked which was very good.
I enjoy the walk-in tub. Even though it takes a lot of water and our water here is expensive, I make sure I do it. I know that if I needed it, it's just there. However, if I use it on a regular basis and in-between if I have to, it wouldn't even be the cost of the water. If I felt I needed it, it would get done. If it weren't for this walk-in, I wouldn't be able to take a bath. I would recommend it and I would even let people try it if they wanted to. I have had other people come in and take a look at it. It helps me and it has people stay longer in their homes. Even though I'm not that old, if you have any kind of back issue, it's kinda nice just to sit in and relax. It’s very convenient and it's a good experience.

My wife has trouble with her legs and she had a hard time getting into the bathtub. It was also difficult standing in the shower, so we figured we'd get something where she can sit down there and enjoy life. American Standard sent over a very nice young man who was very good and did a fine job. He sold the walk-in tub. The installation team who came out to get it all set up was good as well. Everybody took good care of us. American Standard walk-in tubs are good but they don't come cheap so if you got the money, you can buy it.

I liked what I saw with my family member who uses an American Standard Walk-In Tub and decided to get one. I had to make some adjustment for the installation but I monitored and adjusted with the widening of my door and it was all done in a couple of days. We’ve had good experience with American Standard. They said they had a lifetime guarantee, so we wanted to go with something like that. The sales rep was real nice. During the installation, I had such a small door going into the bathroom that they had to enlarge the door, and they did that. We’re all satisfied with the tub. We feel a little bit more safe with it. I’m in my 80’s and my wife is in her 70’s, and though we’re both healthy, I wanted to get it in ahead of time in case we need it later on.

American Standard seemed much more professional than the other company that I tried calling. The sales rep we had was a very interesting older man. He came up, gave me a fair quote, and he gave me a discount, too. The installation took two days, which was super quick. The two guys who did it were great and very professional. I'm very happy with the tub and I get really relaxed in it. I had a great experience with them.

They did what they were supposed to do and they cleaned up after themselves. Whatever I asked them to do, they did. They also took one day like they said. American Standard is the one you see advertised all the time so I thought it was the only walk-in tub company. My experience with them has not been very good and I was disappointed because I was so excited. I was too big and couldn't get into the tub. I asked the salesman if he was sure I was gonna fit in the and he said yes. He told me to test it before we brought the tub in but I didn't want everybody in the world to see. Then, he didn’t say anything before I paid for it. We’ve got two other bathrooms, so I can use the other room but I wanted it. A couple of months later, I received an email that said, “Five things that you should do." One of them was, “Test it before you buy it.” I told the salesman and he said that I should’ve done that. I could take it out and put something else in there but I have to pay for it again. So, it’s a no. I have spent enough money on it. I know the tub would be good but American Standard needs to be a little bit more upfront about it.
The installers didn’t clean up after themselves. We told the salesperson and they came back. They did it and talked about the different functions. Plus, there's a nice little brochure for when I forget what the buttons are for. Right now, the tub is working but it is being used like a hamper. I love the new toilet that American Standard gave us though.

I had the American Standard guy come here. He was great and didn’t give me a bunch of crap. He was not pushy nor high-pressure. I said, “This is what I want and this is what I’ll pay." He said okay. He came when he said he was gonna come and I was a happy camper. I had other companies scheduled, but they didn’t show up or they called and canceled. It had gotten to be very annoying at the time. My granddaughter was here and the rep included her in the conversation. I was quite satisfied. He went in and did the measurements. I said to give me a price and that I wanna know an installation time. Boom, boom, boom, and I had my answers right then and there.
The installers were okay and very efficient. They thought it was gonna take two days to finish, but they asked if they could stay a little later and wrapped up in one day. They came in, did what they had to do and didn't leave us without the facility for very long. They also cleaned up their mess. The tub was for my niece, but as time has gone on, I have found more of a need for it. I’ve had hip surgery since then and my husband broke his back. The tub has been a godsend. I’m not regretful as far as the cost at all. I've told friends that if they want somebody that’s gonna come in and not give them a line of crap, American Standard is the one to call.

American Standard had a good deal for their walk-in tubs and it seemed to have everything I needed. They have a good product. The sales rep was also very friendly and very helpful. He explained everything when we asked questions and provided good information. The installation team also did an efficient job, and put everything back together because they had to take a door out to get the tub in. They did the replacement in a day and half and they did a good job cleaning up.

I feel much safer using my American Standard walk-in tub. I have osteoporosis and I was told not to stand in the shower. But with the American Standard walk-in tub, I use the shower everyday and I would also use the tub everyday if my hot water heater would fill it up. The hot water heater is the only problem I'm having. It's two years old and no longer filling the tub up. Still, I have enjoyed the tub and I love it. We host a yearly event here in town and I show and recommend it to everybody who walks in. To begin with, we figured it was American-made so we assumed they’re up here and that was why we purchased it. Their sales representative was also very nice and the installation was a very good experience. The team said that the installation was so easy because my power box and my water heater were right here. So it was an ideal setup and they weren't here for six hours. They were also efficient and they cleaned up.

I liked the way American Standard was presented and its literature. Their sales rep came out twice to verify the position of the walk-in tub, where it was going, and ensure that it would fit properly. The installers were fantastic as well. They had to do quite a bit of showing up and they did it in a timely clean fashion. The quality of the tub has been fantastic. It relaxes me, but it's more therapeutic.

My mom works at a restaurant and she’d be on her feet all day. She’s 63 years old and she’d complain about her back, her legs, and her feet. She was going to the fitness center with me so they could let her try the pool. Then, she said she wanted us to try the American Standard tub. That way, she can soak in and it’ll help her joints and muscles. American Standard has been great and their sales rep was very nice. He answered all our questions and it had taken him about one day to put it in. The tub has also helped my mom out a lot. It’s like a spa and it helps us relax. My mom loves it and now she doesn’t have problems with her back, her muscles, or her feet. And she said the swelling had went down on her ankles. I’d tell my friends to get an American Standard tub if they're having problems with their back, joints, and muscles because it helped my mom.

I’ve been watching the advertisement of American Standard for some time and I have never experienced one of the things they said about the water going down fast and you don’t sit in the cold. Anybody that I knew have one and when I saw that, I told myself that one day, I’m gonna call them. Until one day, I did. It was great interacting with the sales rep. It was very pleasing because they did things like open up a door. I was getting to the age and I would need something like that. I liked the whole experience and it was very quick. The time and the way it was installed blew my mind. One guy was doing something and one was doing the carpentry, and they just went through the whole thing. It was amazing and I've never seen anything like it.
I go in the walk-in bath, sit down and enjoy. Any aches or pains go away and I even put the bubbles. It's the most wonderful thing that I've ever experienced. Before, I would take a shower and I would get a little concerned about what would happen. Somebody told me to put a chair in there but that wasn't good enough. The price was good and the quality is great. It's worth every penny. I would recommend it to anybody who could afford it and if they are to the point even for security reasons

The salesperson that we dealt with at American Standard was very knowledgeable. We had a little bit of the sticker shock when we started talking the price, but the overall experience was extremely positive. He told us that the installation of the walk-in tub would take about two days, but the installers did it in one day. The only complaint we had was some of the caulk was coming undone two months after the installation. But they sent someone right out to fix that. I would definitely recommend not only American Standard, but the installation team that they used.

If you ever need service... forget it. Won’t give me a date when they can fix one of the water jets that is not working. Love the tub... but need it to work properly. I just want an answer when they can fix it. Was promise a callback by 4:00 on Friday 11/16/2018. No callback so at 5:00 I call and the lady who promise she would call back was gone for the day. Is this the way to follow up with a great product. I wish I knew this would happen and I would gone with a tub that was not as nice but great service. I have not been able to take a bath since Monday.

I’ve been in construction for about 40 years of my life and we used a lot of American Standard products. In fact, I am very familiar with the walk-in tub. I’m in my 70s now and getting in and out of the tub, I almost slipped a few times. It’s not very safe. So even though the walk-in tub is quite expensive, and the installation of it took about three weeks, it is worthwhile. My wife uses it all the time. American Standard is a good product and I recommend it to anybody who can afford it.

We had a tub in the house but it was having some leakage problems so we were looking for a new one. We liked the warranty on the American Standard and their rep was very informative and explained everything well. We got a high-walled tub with a door and it has a handheld shower in it and the installation was fairly quick. They were very organized and they were trying to make sure they didn't disrupt anything too much. They had to do a little bit of work to mold the tub into the space by some moldings to make it look good. The quality of work that was done was excellent and it looked like the tub was always there when they left.
My mom uses the tub and the only thing that we didn’t like over the previous one is it takes longer for it to fill because it’s so much higher, so she had to sit and wait for it to fill. She likes using the tub though. Change is hard at first but after she’s been using it this long, she likes to take a bath. The jets are really nice on that tub. Massaging is strong and it’s a really nice feature. The handheld shower is awesome because while you’re waiting for the water to fill, you can use that too. The tub was worth the price compared to others.

My wife and I are both 73, not in bad health at all, but we know that somewhere down the line, we will need something of a walk-in tub structure. We started looking at the different brands and makes of walk-in tubs and American Standard was one of the brands that we looked at. We called the 800 number and spoke with the representative. He came to the house and explained the tub and how it will work for us. We had a couple of other appointments with different tub manufacturers, but it was the one that we preferred and liked the best.
The salesman was very precise and was not pushy. He did a good job of explaining the workings in the installation process and how things would be done. The two installers who came did an excellent job. They were very cooperative and very efficient. We had a 5 and a half-foot Whirlpool in our master bath and it had ceramic tiles all the way around it and in front. They cut out the front of it and set the walk-in tub in the space. They built up around it and sealed it in, and it looked very good. The cleanliness of the finished product was excellent.
We had to go from a hot water tank to a tankless hot water system. We had a 40-gallon tank and when we started burning and got half of the 40 gallons out, we started getting a mixture of hot and cold water. It ended up being more expensive than we thought it would be by taking out the water heater and putting in a tankless, including the cost of the installation. It cost about $2,000 to convert over to a tankless water system and to go with the cost of the American Standard tub. The salesman told that we might wanna think about it, but we were not aware that it would cost that much. We're quite pleased with the tub. American Standard was excellent, and so were their installation people.

I've had a physical problem for quite a while. I couldn’t get in and out of the small shower and the other tub, so purchasing a walk-in tub from American Standard was the best choice. The sales reps were very nice, knowledgeable, and they went out of their way to help me. The installation took one day and their installers answered any questions I had. They worked really well and knew what they were doing. The tub has a lot of benefits. It helps massage my legs, and it has been easy to use. I feel at ease using it.

I liked American Standard's price and my interactions with their sales rep was quite good. He knew what he was talking about. I told him what I needed and would like to have, and that's what I got. But I wasn't real happy with the guys that came in and installed walk-in tub. They weren't very well experienced and I would've preferred someone else. But they got it in, and it’s working fine. They weren’t the best craftsmen in the world, but they did a pretty good job. I put in the tub for my granddaughter because she’s 18 years old, totally handicapped and she can’t stand up in a shower. She’s very comfortable in it. I also use the tub and I enjoy sitting in it and turning the jets on.

I moved into a new home and wanted something new. I purchased from American Standard as their product sounded so good, with the vibration, the water, and it's just like a spa. However, I had a lot of trouble getting the tub. That first man who came out and sold me the tub didn’t explain that there were several different kinds of walk-in tubs -- big ones and the smaller ones. He knew I was a big person, and I was in a wheelchair. They brought one out that was way too small and I couldn’t even get in. So, they took it back, and then I decided I didn’t want one.
One guy called and talked me into it again. They brought out one that was bigger and nicer, so I went ahead and took it. I didn’t think so much of the guy that put the tub in ‘cause all he could do was that caulking. If he didn’t get it straight up and down or didn’t get it caulked or get it lined up right, he filled the cracks with caulking. And I didn’t like that at all. But other than that, I put up with it, so it was okay.
I still kinda kick myself for getting the American Standard walk-in tub. They’re awfully expensive for the one I got and I don’t like it because it sits me up too high. I can’t get down in the bubbles, or in the water and that was my main problem. I’m high from the waist up. And when I got in it, half of my top was still out of the water, unless I slid down. It was very uncomfortable. I wouldn’t buy another walk-in tub unless American Standard made it where I sit down lower. I moved and just left the tub in the house.

I have a lot of medical problems. I’ve had back surgery and I can’t get in a tub. I saw American Standard on TV and I called them. The interaction with the rep was fine. The installation was also good. The installers were very nice. The walk-in tub has helped me. It feels good on my legs. It doesn’t hurt when I’m in there and when I use the jets.

The salesman showed me the different things he talked about and he was good. The installers did a good job as well. They told me what they had to do and they didn’t sugar-coat anything. They cleaned up too. The American Standard tub looks better because the old tub I had was low and it got to the point where I had to have somebody help me up when I sit down in it. I can now sit in, and no one would run my water. However, when I let the water out, it got down so far and it stopped. If I open the door, the water will come out.
I got trapped in my own bathtub and I sit in there for about 30 minutes because there was nobody here. I had my cellphone with me, so I had to sit and wait till somebody came and let me out. The rest of the water was supposed to drain out, but when I turned the little knob, it didn’t do that. I had to take a knife, pry it up and let the water go down so I can get out of the tub. All in all, the American Standard tub is good and it helps me a lot. I love it and I wouldn’t take anything for it.

I called American Standard and their guy made a presentation to me and my husband. He was a good guy. He knew what he was talking, he had samples of the tub, and he made a great presentation. My husband needed the tub, so he said, "All right, let's just go with this." So, we went with it once he finished his presentation. The installation was a good job. The installers were friendly and the quality of their work was good. Our American Standard tub works. It relaxes us and it has been doing everything that they said it does. However, I have a problem with the tub and I have problems with getting somebody to come out and check the tub. They would tell me what to do but they don't come in and look at it. Still, I would recommend the tub itself.

I have arthritis and one day I got in my regular tub and it was hard for me to get out, so I said to myself that I was not gonna get into a tub anymore unless I was gonna shower. But I like to soak in a tub so we talked to someone about it and called American Standard. I decided to go with them because the man that came here explained it real good to us. He told us everything that we were going to encounter with it and he checked everything, to see if the tub would fit in my doors. He was very well-informed in what he was doing.
The installation team came in one morning. They took my old tub and were very careful with my floors. They didn’t scratch anything. And then they brought in that tub and did all the electrical work. It was wonderful. By that afternoon, that tub was ready. They took care of everything. The tub was beautiful. It changed my bathroom so much. But they told me I couldn’t use it that day. I had to wait two days before we could use it.
I love the tub. I shower in it a lot and when I soak I really like it. It helps my arthritis and I enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone. I had two showers. I could use the shower too in my regular tub and I have a little bench. But I was getting up in age and I was so afraid that I would fall. But with this tub, it’s so wonderful because you go and sit down, you pull that spray pipe so that you can spray yourself all over the place with water, soap yourself and shower beautifully, not having to worry that you can fall. It’s been a pleasure not being afraid to use my shower. If you can afford it or if you're having problems with your legs, like my husband and I were having, buy it.

Our walk-in tub is very good and we appreciate it. My husband was really sick, so we needed it. The reps at American Standard were extremely good, especially the installers. The installation went smooth and painless and the whole project took just a day to be completed. My husband died in January, so we’re not using it as we did before. Still, when he was alive, we could give him a shower and a bath. He couldn’t do that before and it was much more difficult for us before having the walk-in tub.

The rep was personable and he seemed very knowledgeable. Installers were great as well. They really seemed to know what they were doing, and they set everything up and cleaned up after themselves. They were really nice. I get in the tub every day and even if I've already had a shower, I'll get in the tub just to warm up and relax. I was a general commander and a real estate broker when I was a child so I had contact with American Standard for 50 years. I am extremely happy with them. They're a nationally known brand and I have no bad knowledge of them. Being in the business, I'm a nitpicker, so there were little things I would have done different during the sales. But they've done it a lot of times and they're professional with their job.
Their installation team also did a good job of cleaning up every night, and it was a minimum of interruption. The only thing is that my towel bars are not particularly level. They eyeballed and they should have put a pencil mark and level them. But overall, I am glad I bought the tub. I soak on my tub and get all rheumatism and pains out of my shoulder and hips.

I researched a couple of different walk-in tubs and I like American Standard. I like the lifetime warranty and all the jets. It is like a spa, and, with my disability, I do not have to worry about falling. I interacted with a great sales rep who answered every question we had. He is well-informed and he explained the tub to us and how everything works. A gentleman with his two kids did the installation. They were great and they got the tub in the spot where they had to put it. I love my American Standard Walk-in Bath. If I’m aching, I fill the tub all the way and turn the jets on. Then, I sit in there for a bit and turn the lights on. I recommend it to anybody.

My husband had two brain tumors and he was impaired that he could not get in and out of the shower safely. Our shower was small that even having a handicap seat would not work at all for him so it was a necessity that we do something that would be safe for him and that I would be able to bathe him and get him in and out fairly well. My husband and I looked at several companies and I showed him all of those that were available. He saw the name American Standard and being as old as we are, we went with a dependable company that has been around for a while. We also like the quality and dependability of the products that American Standard sells. We got in touch with Liberation and then a gentleman that had a vast experience not only with the prior company came out. At that time in our life, this was greatly needed because of the situation with our existing shower and garden tub.
The sales rep was very pleasant and everything went perfectly as far as the product and what would happen during the installation. We had a little issue, however, on the financing and I think it was because we made a quick decision that we wanted it. We were with the understanding that I could pay the tub off with x number of months and when the paperwork came in, we went ahead for it. I thought we could do it like the Lowe's or Home Depot where they would give us a special within a time frame. If we got that paid off, we didn't have that interest that has accrued, but if we failed to do that, then that would kick in.
There was almost 10% interest, however, that was really not acceptable, so we took a home equity. I thought that they had said that 18 months was the time frame and I was paying $700 per month. Then as things settled down, I began to read and reassess what was actually going on. I realized that although the tub was something that was a necessity for my husband, it is not a good investment for us. $200 is a lot on the pocket. Nevertheless, we're fine now. I understand everybody has to make a little on the side but we were thinking that we were paying somebody's car payment.
The installation crew that came was fantastic, nevertheless. We liked the main installer and the gentleman who assisted. They did a great job on prepping and cleaning up, and we're very pleased with the product. The only issue I have is the adjustable little knot that's on the bottom of the drain. One time we put lots of water in and I had to pour the water out of the tub into the toilet so that the drain would come up. But once I figured out how to adjust it, it's not slipping anymore. I add some water pressure down there on the stopper and it drains very efficiently. As time goes on, my husband's mobility has become more limited and even on good days, I can't bathe him by myself. Every day that he can move more smoothly, it may take him up to 20 minutes getting in the tub. Once he's in, however, he enjoys the tub and loves it.

I called American Standard. I have a medical issue that I wanted their walk-in tub so bad. The gift they had which I desperately needed was also a deciding factor to get one from them. American Standard carries its brand too, so I wasn't worried about it. The salesman I had was excellent, personable, and knowledgeable. He returned calls in a timely manner. Since getting the tub, I've had one service call and they were down here the next day. So, I was impressed.

I have myotonic dystrophy which is breaking down my muscles and my mom has a hard time getting out of the tub so we decided it’s time for a walk-in tub. We looked around and saw the American Standard advertisement in a magazine and the reps came out and talked to us about it. They were so helpful and easy to talk to.
They took the old tub out and cleaned up before they left. We also got the heater for the cellar downstairs. The rep said that our water heater takes too long for the water to heat up. It's also not big enough to keep the water hot and I have to put it on a period of time. But with the water heater they installed, it will keep the water hot and I could do other things at the same time while the water is running. The installers are great and everybody at American Standard is so nice. American Standard is wonderful and it’s the best experience I’ve ever had with anybody. I’ve used the tub a lot more now in the winter time to warm me up. We also love it and it’s much easier for me and my mom.

It's very convenient to have the walk-in tub. Plus I like the price and the strength of the frame. They said the installation would take a day and a half, and it took a day and a half exactly. The installers were very professional too. They didn't make any marks in the wall or do anything bad, which was good. They also cleaned up after themselves each day. Aside from that, my interactions with American Standard's reps have been very positive as well. I've had a couple of issues and they took care of them right away.

I always heard American Standard was the best. Their salesman wasn’t as quick as I wished he had been, but he came and did a nice job. The installers were very efficient. I saw American Standard Walk-In Tubs on TV and the brand looked like the best buy to me. Their sales guy was very professional and knew what he was talking about. He did what he said he was gonna do and followed through with everything. The installers were very good as well. They came when the sales guy said they would, called before they came, and had everything in place. Then, they left with no clean up to be done. Using our walk-in tub has helped my arthritis. It has also helped my husband since neither of us could get in and out of a tub anymore because of back and knee problems.

My husband is 88 and has neuropathy. He can't get in and out of the tub. I got a tub for him and I've always had American Standard fixtures so I went with them. The sales rep and installation team were very nice and very professional. The installers got it done quickly. However, it turned out that the American Standard Tub was a little bit too small for him to be comfortable in. He can't get down in it and let those jets hit his shoulders or anything like that because his knees hit the front of the tub.
American Standard needs to think more about the actual person that has to get in the tub. I was a little bit pissed off but I'm finally using it. Also, they should provide some sort of a shower rod that would go around the tub part because when my husband went in the tub two or three times, he tried to use the shower and he got water everywhere. It's dysfunctional for a person trying to bathe, wash the hair, rinse off and everything without a shower curtain.

I already had an American Standard height toilet in my front bathroom. I had had that for several years now. It's a great toilet. The guy that came out to the house to tell me all about their walk-in tub was good as gold. He was anything but high pressure. He had all the time in the world to talk to me and answer. He talked to for well over an hour and he was very pleasant.
The tub is great for the ankles, legs, knees, and hips, okay. I noticed right away that it helped to reduce some of the inflammation that I had in my feet and in my legs down to my ankle area. However, when I sit in that thing and I put the maximum amount of water that I can put in there without running it over, I don't get the water up around my shoulders, my neck, and other areas. The tub does not come up as high as it needs to for me. Also, I don't use the shower head because it ends up getting a bunch of water on the floor. And when that water hits the wall and runs down, it's flat instead of being tapered in an ankle. They need to redesign the upper edge of that tub, so that when the water runs on the wall, it'll go back into the tub instead of wherever.
Also, I had a problem right off the bat with one of the motors. It went haywire. I called American Standard and they ordered a new one. They sent a guy out and he put it in. I was told that that was an upgrade in that particular motor for that thing. It was real good with the newer motors. And the door seals tight. It does not leak at all. When I'm filling and sitting in that, I got the door and the drain shut. Then, I get the water temperature not too hot and not too cold and I can sit in that thing for an hour. The water will never get cold. It's maintained the same temperature all the time, without ever adding any additional water.

American Standard's rep was great. He was upfront about what we could expect, and he told us about the walk-in tub. We had some little pros and cons and he saw my way about one thing, and I'm glad we did it that way. I was happy with the installers, too. They had to take my door frame out because it was not as wide as the tub, so they made it wider. But, I wasn't happy with the way they put it back together. Nevertheless, my wife absolutely loves the walk-in tub and uses it over the shower now. I'm happy with it and with American Standard's service.

I am used to the name American Standard for anything in the plumbing line. They have been around for so long so I am familiar with them -- if it is around that long, it has to be good. Also, my dad was a builder and I know he always used American Standard. I’m 85 and I am active but I had an episode and I begun falling. I have a lot of problems falling. It was then that I went to see different tubs. I like showers but I can fall in there as I try to get out of the tub. I was also uncomfortable. Moreover, I could not physically get in and out of the jacuzzi that I had. I notice all of the other walk-in tub companies coming in and I thought that it is a good idea because I have reached an age where an assistive facility is down the road for me. So, I thought this would allow me to stay in my home longer. When I received a whole lot of emails on the walk-in tubs, it struck my eye because it was American Standard. So, I called and made the appointment.
A very nice sales rep came. He was easy to talk to and answered all my questions. He knew everything I wanted to know or asked. But, I had to leave to pick up a lady who needed a ride home and I felt very comfortable leaving him while he did some measurements. The measurements were for how much they would need to take up the extra space that's gonna be left because I had a jacuzzi tub in that area and it was larger than most tubs. The installation team was knowledgeable and very nice. They were capable and got it all in one day. It was quite a mess in my house because they had to cut out the jacuzzi tub in about three to four pieces and we had a lot of chalk dust around but they kept it as clean as possible. Everything went well. I have my walk-in tub now and it is fantastic. I have had it for a little over a year.

I was told that American Standard was the best, and their representative was well-informed and patient in explaining so that my husband could understand. We were real impressed with him. The installation took two days, one to remove everything and prepare and the other day for the installation itself. The techs worked and were determined to make sure that everything was just like before when they left. They were very professional. The tub is wonderful and it’s so much easier for my husband. With his Parkinson’s, I was having to stand with him by the shower to get him to be safe to shower, and now he can just sit in, bathe and shower. I'm very pleased.

I have arthritis on my knees and I was having a problem getting in and out of the regular tub. Because of that, I was in the market for a walk-in tub. I started seeing ads for American Standard Walk-In Tubs on the television and so I went online and looked them up. I then decided on buying from them because of the lifetime warranty. The sales rep who came to our house was good. He explained everything to me and showed me comparisons between their brand and the other brands, specifically about the lifetime warranty, not just the lifetime limited warranty. I also had a good experience with the installation team. They finished the job in three days because they had to do some additional work as far as wiring another electrical box. It was good and I wasn’t inconvenienced too much. I'm enjoying the tub. It's easier for me to take a bath now.

We love the American Standard walk-in tub. We had looked at other walk-in bathtub companies, but their products didn't have the same quality. The sales rep of American Standard did an excellent job showing us the quality of the fixtures and explaining the tub and how it works, and what it would take to install it in our particular situation. Overall, he did an excellent job describing the whole experience. We were happy with the installation team too. There were some challenges with where we wanted the tub installed, but they handled that fine. They were really flexible with us and they did a good job. My wife uses the tub more than I do and she is happy with it, although she would like the seat to be higher.

The interactions I had with the American Standard sales reps went all right, although they went a little fast and I wish they could slow down a bit. The installation went good, but they've got to throw my old tub away, which I can take care of myself. They put it in a different spot where there was no plumbing. Also, I still got the shower in there and I got to take that out. I like the new tub, but the seal on the back side keeps coming apart. I put some clear stuff on there and it seems to be holding. The tub works well on me.

During the month of September I purchased American Standard walk-in tub. I had a horrible experience with the installer here in Jacksonville, FL. He damaged my bathroom floor tiles and walls. He also failed to seal the edge of the tub. Also, he left my ceiling exposed with sheet rock. I have called American Standard on 3 different occasions and requested that a supervisor rectify this situation. They have been non-responsive and their only solution has been to refer me back to the installer who damaged my home. They take no responsibility or concern to my situation. I would never recommend this company again to anyone as it has now become my responsibility to chase the installer. I requested an alternative installer in Jacksonville and was told that this bad contractor was my only option and that all the supervisors were out in the field. No return calls back from American Standard. Do not use this company! I am very disappointed!

I called the American Standard phone number and the man came out and gave me about an hour of his time. I was stunned at the price. $19,000 is crazy. One of my sons who's in construction told me that I could build a whole bathroom for that price. He thought it was outrageous, but I'm not a good candidate for making choices. It took some three tries to get the right tub because it didn't fit. The next one leaked, and then on the third try, they got it right. I actually prefer a regular bathtub, but I couldn't take a chance on falling in one again. I'm 82 and I've got a very bad spine. So I went for the walk-in tub. The only thing I don't like about the walk-in tub is if the doorbell rings, you can't just open the door to the tub. But when you're in a regular tub, you can just step out and put a housecoat on and go to the door.
The installer was wonderful. He saved my life because at one point, I wanted to know how much longer he would be there that day because I wanted to go to Taco Bell and I didn't wanna leave. I have one of those buttons you can push if something's wrong, and while we were sitting there talking, he told me that I need to push the button but I refused. He then said that it was either I push it or he's gonna push it. So, I pushed it, and sure enough, I was having a stroke. They rushed me to the hospital, and I was very, very grateful that he insisted because when the firemen came, my blood pressure was a 197. I will forever be grateful for that fella for saying that I need to get help. I had a very good experience with American Standard.

We had a terrific experience dealing with their sales rep and their people did everything well. I've been in construction for a long time yet this was the first time that we had a group that took things apart and were very careful, didn't leave a mess and put it all back together again like new. Their guys worked perfectly.

I saw an advertisement about American Standard Walk-in bathtub and I sent in something to ask for more information. Then a salesman called up and set an appointment. I enjoyed working with the salesman and what he did wasn’t a high-pressure sale. He just gave me all the information and let me make the decision, which was why I bought the tub. His knowledge of what he knew about the products was great and he was able to answer all my questions.
The installation team was great too. They were in there and got everything done. The installer was really knowledgeable. It's been a pretty good experience with American Standard except for one thing. I got one part that’s not staying on like it’s supposed to. I’ve let the installer know about it and he ordered the part, but what they sent me was the wrong one. It wasn’t his fault though that they sent the wrong part. I don't know how to get that part replaced and I don’t know how to get in touch with the installer anymore. But everything else, I love the tub. I’ve been really wanting one for a long time. I didn’t expect it to be quite as expensive as it was, but still, it was what I wanted. Anytime I get a chance to use it, I feel better and it always makes me feel better when I use it.

I wanted to get a walk-in for my wife and I got one from American Standard. I like it. Their installation team were all right, but they didn’t bring me a toilet that fits that hole. They told me I was gonna get a free toilet with the tub but I never got one. Other than that, they did a good job and the people I talked to during my purchase were friendly as well.

I liked the way the American Standard Walk-In Tubs' salesman presented himself. He was very convincing and he didn't pressure me to buy. He just showed me his product and let me make up my own mind. Then the installation team was nice, professional and courteous. The installation took less than two days. It started one day and finished up the next. I was at the point where I was afraid of getting in and out of a conventional tub so the walk-in tub makes everything a lot easier. I recommended American Standard to a bunch of people.

The American Standard sales rep that came out was a really nice fellow. He was very efficient, clean and smart. The walk-in tub is good quality and I'm glad I got it. I had hip replacement and it cut a nerve in my hip, and I use the tub to exercise that leg. I had some trouble with it but the tech came and fixed it the next day.

My wife and I are both 87 years old and we needed a walk in tub that we wouldn’t fall in. I considered other brands too but American Standard has low step-in which was the important thing for us so I went with them. My interaction with the sales rep was okay. They were fine. Their installation process was beautiful. It only took them one day and they came back the next day, finished up and the tub looks good. We don’t have to worry now about falling in the shower. It works good. It has been a beautiful experience overall.

I needed the best tub and going with American Standard seemed like the right thing to do. The installation ran smoothly and took about a month to set everything up. However, the tub should’ve come a little faster and smoother because price-wise, it was sky-high. The price should be lesser and they should allow for a longer period of time to pay it off. Other than that, the tub's material is right and American Standard is a good company.

I was looking for a walk-in tub and I saw American Standard Walk-In Tubs on a Sunday paper. When I ordered the tub, I was told that it’d take four to six weeks before they could install it because they had other people who worked on them too, and I was good with that. Their sales rep was very good and knowledgeable. I had to wait a day to use it after installation because the glue or the caulking had to set in. So far, I've used it twice because I really bought it for my 88 years old mom. I feel safer with her being able to sit down in there and I don’t have to worry about her falling out of the shower. I was happy with them. In fact, I would purchase again because they had good hardware.

American Standard had the availability to install the tub pretty quickly. Their sales reps were professional. They were here for an hour or so, answered all our questions and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the product, and most importantly, about the installation process. The installation went well but the installers had to return to repair something that they missed during the installation. They were very prompt in doing that and it was done the next day. If you’re in need of a walk-in tub, they have a very quality product and a competitive price.

I saw an American Standard advertisement and my husband and I talked about it for quite a while. We didn’t have anybody here in town that was, at that time, selling American Standard products. They had a good thing going so we finally went the next step and we signed up for it after waiting for it to get produced. A rep came out to our home and told us more about the whole process. From there then, it was a matter of waiting for the tub and getting it installed. It was a fine process and we were really happy with it. Although there were a couple of glitches, the rep was really good about getting it all handled. There were things that needed to be replaced from the factory, but when they figured that out, it all turned out fine.
Using the walk-in tub is so much more comfortable. We still need to get a bigger water heater with that, but that’s just something that will come down on someplace. We’re in a small town, so we prefer to buy things locally whenever possible. If American Standard had somebody here that sold their products, that would be helpful. My experience with American Standard has been really great overall and I will recommend it to anybody.

It was said that American Standard was good quality, it had the jets and the lights and I can get a free toilet with it, so I got a tub. The sales rep was very good and the installers carried it upstairs and connected it. They weren't very good in changing the computer board because suddenly it didn't work. We had to have the other person come in, and he put a new computer board in. When the board worked, it was fine. The tub is nice and I feel I have more circulation. Sometimes I'm afraid of soap getting on the base of the bathtub and the wall because the water rises to a certain thing. If you don't have any bubbles, then it's okay, but if you have a lot of bubbles, it goes higher with the jets and as with any bathtub, it's very important to keep the dilution of soap right.

We talked a rep from American Standard about getting a walk-in bathtub and he was the only one we talked to. He came to the house and discussed it to my husband and me. He was very polite and we had a very positive experience with him. Also, I like the tub and the things that it has on it, so we went with it. When it was put in, I loved the guys that installed it. They were very helpful and even offered to put me a shelf behind it, so I liked that. But there is one problem where the water comes out. There seems to be a space between that and the tub where the faucet is falling down a little bit. Other than that, I really love our walk-in bathtub. It is wonderful and I have recommended it to my cousin.

My wife couldn't walk into a regular tub and use it. She can't get up and she's got a lot of problems with her legs. She needed a walk-in bathtub and we bought one from American Standard. With it, she can sit down and it has been wonderful for her. However, I thought of it differently. I imagined myself sitting there and reading a book while the tub is going, but I suddenly realized that the water has to come all the way above me near the neck, so there's no way I can read. I had to put the book above my head to read, so that was a little disappointing.
The installation team should have done a better job. To get the tub in, they had to remove all the parts in the bathroom -- the toilet, the sink, and everything. The door had to be widened, which they did a good job and did everything correctly. We had tiles and they have managed to put them back. A short while later, after I looked under the sink, I noticed something was wet. I found that we had a leak under the sink, so we called them. Their team came back, but then they glued the pieces together with concrete and the stopper couldn't go up and down anymore. I had to call a plumber who said the whole thing had to be replaced because the connections were badly put together. Still, the shower is decent and my wife has a seat in our tub. That has been good for us thus far.

I liked that American Standard installs walk-in tubs on the same day. However, they put mine in a couple of days later. The guy cut a hole on the floor and I never thought that he would go down that little hole to hook up the pipes because it was over a crawlspace, but he did everything. They did a good job. However, there are only two jets along the back of the tub where you sit. If you look at the advertisement on television, there are six. I was a little disappointed in that because they don’t hit my back where I want it hit. Also, one of the lights down in the bottom is burned out. But other than that, I've had no problem with the tub. It's hard to get in and out of it so I don't use it that much, but everything was good.

When the sales rep from American Standard came to my house, I was satisfied with the evaluation and the program he had. He had excellent knowledge of the product and I was pleased with him. I’m 87 years old and when I get into the shower, I have to hold on to something. Taking the shower can be scary since the bathtub’s slippery. I liked American Standard's ad and the fact that they had a new toilet along with the walk in tub which saved me money. The rep I worked with was very nice. He explained the whys and wherefores. The installer was very pleasant and he did a good job. The installation took a couple of weeks because I moved then and I still had furniture to get from my other residence. So far, I have used the tub once. However, my water boiler is not functioning right now. When I get into the bathtub, the warm water gets cold and it's not a good feeling. I spoke to their rep today and he said they’ll be coming soon to change the boiler. Other than that, I’m happy with it and I don't have any regrets buying it.

I had a walk-in tub before but it was a piece of junk that fell apart. I needed another tub for my new place. I looked into American Standard and had a fine experience with their rep. I liked him as he was thorough and very informative. The installation was fine too except that the guy who installed it left the company right afterwards. One of the jets fell out and I had something that he had to come back and fix. At the time, American Standard didn't have anybody in the area, so I had to find my own plumber and I had a hard time. It kind of concerned me that it didn't appear at the time that they have more than one person covering my area.
Another problem was that the new tub's faucet where the water comes out needs to be smaller because it hits me in the stomach when I take a shower. The actual size of the faucet is too big and it comes out too far in the tub, unlike the faucet of my other tub which was mounted against the wall. Still, I've been thoroughly enjoying my American Standard tub. I always take two long tub baths and I love tub baths. I always read too, so it doesn't bother me that I'm in there for 45 minutes to an hour. Since then, I've been recommending American Standard to others.

The young guy who sold me the American Standard Walk-in tub was wonderful and nice. He took time with me and explained it to us. When people brought the tub out and put it in, everything went smoothly and I was pleased with the whole situation. The guy was knowledgeable and everything was fine, but he kept trying to sell me the little scented stuff that went in the American Standard tub and I was not interested. Also, the installers were good till after they left. They were not very good at fitting the trim work around the tub and about two weeks after they put the tub in, I could hear a dripping sound. It quits for a while and then periodically, it starts in again. My husband is hard of hearing and couldn't hear it. A couple of days ago, I walked into the entrance to the bedroom and it smelled like wet wood. The tub has jets and lights, but I'm not happy with using it. I'm an old-fashioned person, and I like a tub where I can sit down and stretch out instead of just sitting there. However, we got it mainly for my husband.

Both my toilets are American Standard and they’re good. American Standard is a great company and they have really great employees. The in-home sales representative who came to talk to me about the tub was really nice, pleasant, funny, and very knowledgeable. The installation was fabulous too. I use American Standard products so I know that their products are good. The sales rep was excellent. He was very helpful and knew his stuff. The installation went very good. The guys were excellent. They made a little boo-boo but I called them and they came back and they took care of it. Their walk-in tub is okay but it cost a lot of money. We have it in another place and we’re not living down there because it’s not our primary home. But the gasket came away from the door. We called American Standard and they sent the gasket but I wasn't there so my neighbor picked it up for me. When I go down there in August, I’m gonna call American Standard and let them come over and install the gasket for me, which I’m sure they will.
I would recommend American Standard Walk-in Baths. It's a good product. The jets could be a bit stronger though. When the guy comes to install the gasket around the door, I’ll ask him about it. Maybe the jet needs to be checked or cleaned. But with the water going out fast and all, all that works great. All that lives up to the hype it says.

We liked American Standard very much and it certainly helped my husband. They seemed to do in a little quicker fashion than others. We also got them for some of the extra things they had. The sales representative was the kind of person we like, he just said the advantages and how he could help us and didn't press anything. The reps and the installers from American Standard have been good and we didn’t have any problems with them. They cleaned up and took care of everything. I had three people come out for quotes and they give me an idea about how they would convert a normal walk-in shower to a walk-in tub for my special needs daughter. The salesman from American Standard pretty much sold me on it. He spent a lot of time with us and explained everything thoroughly. He told me a lot of the tubs was built locally here close by in Texas and if we ever had any problems, there’s a local company that would come out and fix the tub.
The installation team was great. However, the thing was that the door needed to widen because the tub wouldn’t go in. We needed an ADA door for my daughter since she’s in a wheelchair. The guy only coordinated all that but it was kind of a bummer of having to find somebody to come out and do the door. I wish that was part of the process, but he didn’t even know if some of the other bathtub companies would’ve even done as much as they did. He also wouldn’t paint the door and the frame.
American Standard basically has a lot to do with older people, walk-in tubs, but I think they have a real niche for market with the special needs. I think they are missing a big opportunity there because it’s very difficult to have the children with special needs to shower or bathe in a normal tub especially that they either can’t walk or is unstable. These tubs made a world of difference. So, instead of having commercials with a bunch of old people, they'll need to show some special needs people. My daughter loves her bath now and everything has been positive. I highly recommend everything and the whole process is smooth and easy.

My husband saw American Standard on TV. He was one who wanted the tub and he did all the paperwork. The sales rep was great and the experience was perfect with the installation team. American Standard is a big name in bathrooms. We decided to get a tub from them and their rep came, set up stuff and we got the tub ordered. The installation went well. I put an on-demand hot water heater in so the tub would maintain warm water constantly. The installers were courteous and they cleaned up the work area once the work was completed. Overall, American Standard isn't cheap but they're good.

I have thought to rearrange my days so I can usually get in my American Standard. I like the idea of all of the jets, it gives me the invigorating massage. I also like the fact that it empties out fast and that there’s a procedure that I can go through to clean it out like putting some baking soda in there and work it through the system. The only thing is that the seat is not heated and it should be because it's cold when you first get in there. But everything else is just wonderful. It's easy to get in and out of the tub and that’s especially important to me with two knee replacements and at my age.
The sales representative, Bryce, was very helpful. He walked me through everything, showed me samples, and answered my questions. I decided at that particular moment after talking to him that I wanted to order an American Standard. Then the installation team was perfect. Five guys came in here and set a tent up outside because it started to rain. They worked for two days and had to take out an existing tub shower that was in there. There was a plastic in one of these stand-up tub showers and they had to cut it on, go in, and reinforce the bottom where the tub would sit plus the sides and the top. They did a good job and I had no complaints.

I wanted a walk-in tub and American Standard was the one that answered it. It was very good with their sales rep and during installation. The sales rep was knowledgeable and the installers cleaned up after themselves. I appreciate their reps. I use the tub from three to four times a week and it has helped with my arthritis. I was going in for hip surgery when I got it and it meets the needs that I got it for. Also, I've had family members come visit who have used it and they love it.

We were seeing American Standard on TV and my husband called them. They discussed with him how easy it would be for him to get in and out because he's a heavy guy and he has leg problems. They talked about the ease for him to walk in the tub and get down from it. The installers did a nice job. They were pleasant and were professionals.
The American Standard tub is easy to get in and out of. Plus the jets and the vibration help your body to move better after you use them. I had back surgery and I have leg and nerve problems, and the jets help my back and the nerves in my feet. With my husband, he likes the jets and how he feels when he gets in the tub. Now we don’t mind bathing twice a day because we can get in and use the showerhead and take a shower, or we can get in it and take a bath. Also, we feel safer because we can get in and out better. We don’t have to come up and put our feet over anything. We've got the tub to hold on to going in and coming out.

The salesman who came out was very convincing. He kinda went over the history of American Standard and how reliable they are. He also said they were gonna throw in a free toilet with our purchase, as well as guaranteed parts and labor. The gentleman who installed the tub did a good job. But the crew had to come back and re-caulk the tub as it was leaking around the seams. We had put it in place of a walk-in tub or garden tub, and they had to build it up around there. They said they had to do that because the caulking tends to shrink up after a while, and they took care of that. Overall, I’d recommend American Standard. However, I’m concerned now because the tub is not heating the water when their advertisement said it has a built-in heater. Maybe that’s something new because it’s showing up in the ads today. But I had to buy another water heater to keep the water hot enough because the tub uses so many gallons.

I bought an American Standard walk-in tub mainly for my wife to be able to take a bath and she loves it. She could hardly stand to take a shower and she couldn’t get over a regular bathtub. I called American Standard and the rep came over and spent the whole afternoon with us in giving us a demonstration on the tub. He explained to us how it worked and we purchased it from him. The tub we ordered was sent from the plant out at Dallas. The installation of our tub went perfectly and it was done in one day. The installers were very efficient and they did a good job.
The door of the tub that we ordered opens out instead of opening back into the tub. There were times when my wife didn’t lock the door when she got into the tub. Then she sat down and started putting water in it. The next thing we knew, the water had pushed the door open and come out of the bathroom, and we got that cleaned up. But my wife really enjoys the tub. We show it to everybody who comes and visits with us that has difficulty in getting into the shower and tub. We would highly recommend the American Standard tub to everyone.

A company was trying to sell us a tub but I saw American Standard advertised and they were so superior to the other one that there was no trouble making a choice. Their sales rep told us what and what not to expect. It was all I could ask and he was honest about it. Also, I was really impressed with the people that installed the tub. American Standard Walk-In Tubs had more features compared to other walk-in tub companies and their salesperson was very thorough in his explanation. The installation experience was excellent and the installers, the Hobb brothers out of Pennsylvania, did an outstanding job. The walk-in tub has the air and water jets and it has the heating element in it as well. It does a good job of giving me a good cleaning overall with the air jets, and the jets help muscle aches and pains. I’ve already recommended American Standard to two of my friends.

We had a giant tub that was doing nothing and we bought a walk-in tub from American Standard to replaced it. And this tub made the bathroom more functional. When I purchased it, the sales rep I spoke with was very good. He answered all my questions and went through the whole process. Also, I was very impressed with the speed of the installation and the attention to detail that the installers did. I'm very happy with their work, too. Since the tub was installed, we use it from time to time and it has fulfilled the purpose that I bought it for. Go buy an American Standard Walk-In Tub.

American Standard's sales rep explained everything very well. The two guys who put the tub in also did a very good job and they were very professional. Since I got it installed, whenever we got aches and pains, we go in there and it makes us feel better. The American Standard tub is a little pricey but it is a good product.

American Standard is a good and reliable company. Their price is also fair, so we went with them. Their sales rep was very friendly and gave no pressure. The installer was very good as well and knew what he was doing. He got it installed in very good shape and he didn't make a mess. The installation took all day. He traveled quite a way to get here and worked a little late at night to finish up to the end. We enjoy the tub and its quality has been very good. It is maintenance-free and has all of the features you can get from another place. It has made it a lot easier to take a bath rather than a shower. I'm 89 and my wife is 85, so it fits our lifestyle very well. I'm very satisfied and I'd highly recommend American Standard.

After my husband became somewhat disabled, we thought it was better for him to have the walk-in tub to make it easier for him to get his bath. It was also to stimulate his legs with the jets. American Standard has been in the business longer and after the consultation with the salesperson, I was convinced that it was the right choice. We went over everything and he was able to explain it as well.
The installation team was great, courteous and very clean. They made certain that there was no mess or anything left. They were very, very cooperative. The tub helped my husband a whole lot. It made it easy for the people at the hospice and me to bathe him because he could sit down and I could completely bathe and wash him with the shower attached to it. I could wash his hair and I could bathe him much better. It all worked out pretty well. Overall, the experience is what I expected and I was totally satisfied. American Standard was quite expensive but it was an excellent choice that I made. I’d recommend them.

I had a hard time getting in and out of my tub. I couldn't step over it anymore as I got older. I looked up some walk-in tubs and there was one guy that I talked to who put me off. He was demanding. On the other hand, the American Standard guy that I talked to did a much better job of selling us the tub. He answered all of my questions and was really good. On top of that, the price was better. I got a reference discount too so that helped.
I was also amazed at how quickly their team installed the walk-in tub. They were done in a day. I couldn't believe it. That included tearing my old one out, putting the new one in, and getting everything hooked up and ready to go. They also caulked the walk-in tub and did finishing work. They did a good job and I really liked it. They had to come back once though. The drain under the door didn't have a big enough hose on it from the factory and I was having problems. The tub would hold the water and when I would open the door, I would get water on the floor. They fixed that by drilling a bigger hole and putting a different plastic drain tube on it.
They should also make a switch on the door so you can't fill the tub if you don't have the door latched. They could put another electrical valve that wouldn't allow the tub to fill if the door wasn't latched. Otherwise, you'd flood the bathroom like my wife did. Other than that, the tub is great and I love it. I've been telling everybody they should get an American Standard walk-in tub. We also got a hot tub but it's nice to use the small one. It's easier for me to use and to get in and out of it. It's relieving too. I have back problems and with the massage and the jets, the American Standard tub works really well.

I had a good feeling about American Standard because they've always had a good reputation. The installers did fine. They ended up not having some of their supplies that they wanted in their little kit, so they had to go to our Pierson's. We're up in the boonies. We're two hours from the Oregon border, so you don't have many opportunities. The only the hardware stores are Ace and Pierson's. That got a little frustrating and it pushed into two days instead of just the one that they wanted. But the installers worked good together. They left everything clean and nice.
The only discouraging thing was that one of the bolts broke in the handle and the installer didn't have time to go back in and fix it because he said he would have to take the whole wall apart again. We're dealing with a handle that falls off every once in a while but, otherwise, it has worked out fine for us. I called American Standard and told them about it and they were very nice. They said if there was anything that went wrong, to call them any time and they will come. My husband is disabled. We transfer him from his wheelchair into the seat. American Standard should make the seat less slick. Otherwise, I have to put a towel under him and I slide him with a sliding board from the chair. Other than that, I would tell friends that I like American Standard.

My husband’s mother lived with us and she had difficulties getting in and out of the tub because of her age. She had dementia and Alzheimer's at the same time so we purchased a walk-in tub on her behalf to get her a better lifestyle. When I did some research, I enjoyed seeing the comments made about the American Standard’s system. They have been around for a long period of time and it is American made. I also enjoyed having the sales rep when he came. He was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He also knew exactly what our needs were. The presentation was not lengthy but it was to the point and deliberate. It was easy to understand and if I had a question, he had no problem with stopping everything to give an in-depth information to satisfy my inquiry. I was very happy with the way he presented himself and the product.
The installation team came and everything was measured properly. They were very professional and I was amazed that they were able to install the tub in a short amount of time. They checked everything before they left. Also, they showed us exactly how to operate it. We were very pleased. Unfortunately, our mom passed away in February. However, the tub is still an excellent investment in our household. My husband and I are both ranchers. Our muscles can get sore after a while on the outside with the cattle. My husband has been using the tub quite frequently to take away a lot of the muscle soreness that he has and he gets a better night sleep.
I like that the tub is not difficult to maintain. When the representative was here, he showed me how easy it is to keep it clean and keep all the jets clean to keep any bacteria from getting in there. It was not like what we would do for any other bathtub, as far as scrubbing. But there is a bit more of an element in keeping it clean because we are working with not only the water but with the electric as well. And we have to make sure that no mold can form inside of the little jets. I always refer people interested in a walk-in tub to American Standard. There are a lot out in the market but American Standard is the best in the business. American Standard is a chunk of change out of the family budget but in the long run, it is worth it and I hit on the jackpot with them. We have had peace of mind and better health.

My mom told me about American Standard Walk-In Tubs. She said that she scheduled a consultation. We then met the guy, and she decided to go forward with it. The rep we spoke with was informative and the installation team was very nice. However, they did a couple of things that I would have liked to have gone over before they did them, and I would have done it differently. Like there's an empty space against the wall. It would be beneficial if that was more leg room instead of empty space. Also, they have got a handle that's a way down in the tub. That should be optional because I don't need it, it's just in the way.
Lastly, the water jets don't seem like they have very much pressure and then where you put the aroma beads, it blows air out through to make the room smell, but it takes a long time for the whole room to smell. If they sucked air into that instead and put it out to the bubbles on the inside of the tub, then they would smell right away. But it's a presentable tub and it has a lifetime parts and labor for any repairs so it's a good deal. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my experience with American Standard. They have been here a couple of times and they were quick about getting here, considering they service the whole Eastern Seaboard.

In 2014 we had an American Standard walk in tub installed. It works ok, but within a year the paint was peeling off the door and handle. They have sent 4 different repair team to fix the problem and all have failed. At some point American Standard switched to a sub-contractor to handle their customer service. Their representative at first told me that the guarantee covered parts only and I would have to find someone to do the repair work myself. After some argument the sub-contractor agreed that the guarantee covered parts and labor just as the American Standard ads state. The service team that they sent said that they could not fix the problem and left. The tub is still unusable. It is time of American Standard to live up their responsibilities and buy back or replace the tub.

My wife and I are 76 and we both have back aches and pains from aging. We had a really nice tub and we had it installed when we built our place. It had the jets in it and the handles on the side. But neither one of us could get down in it or get out of it. There it sat for a couple of years, never used. One day, an ad on the computer came up for a walk-in tub. I asked my wife what she thought about it and I told her that we’d get more use out of that than the current tub we had that was just sitting here. She agreed, so we contacted American Standard. They sent the salesman out and the rest was history.
We were going to have at least three different companies and as I looked at these ads all the time, all the tubs looked very similar. Even the installer who did ours told me they were all about the same. They install all brands after all. That being said, the salesman at American Standard did a very good presentation and it convinced us to go ahead and go with their brand. Otherwise, we would have got two more bids just to see. Installing the tub was very easy. The installers did a great job and they were very helpful. They were here early in the morning and by late afternoon, they were done.
And while we're very satisfied with the tub, a lot of things came into play that we didn’t have an awareness of as time went by. One of them was we had to have a new water heater installed because the capacity of the existing one was not gonna be sufficient for this new tub. That was an expense we didn’t plan on having. Then, only one of us can make use of the tub because it does tend to use all the hot water up in one filling and we didn’t realize it was gonna be like that. People have also wrote in to us and said that our water bill was gonna go up.
Still, it is a good experience to have the walk-in tub and my wife loves it. It gives us the opportunity to take a bath and also gives us some relief from the aches and pains that we incur every day. It helps a lot and we wanted it because we thought it would enhance our home for resale. Despite all the negatives, we didn't care. We like this unit and we’re happy about it. Plus, American Standard has some really good people and that means a lot to the company.

I was in New Jersey visiting my aunt and when I came back home, the walk-in tub was in the bathroom. It was a surprise but I got back in time when they were doing some of the installation. Everything was smooth. However, a little bit of the foundation started dropping so my husband called them. They came back and resealed it good. The people were great and they were the same people that put in the walk-in tub and the same two gentlemen were the ones who did the shower. They were very friendly and helpful. We laughed and talked. They were very respectable men and if people would get a walk-in tub, they should get it from American Standard.
I love the tub and I have no complaints. I will refer them to anyone who’s interested. I gave the phone number to a neighbor across the street because she's taking care of her mother now. She wants that for her mom and they have an upstairs. I have the Acorn chair also. I showed it to her, the shower and she loved it. She was like, "Wow." She's only 35 and she said she couldn’t wait to get home next Thursday evening for a shower. I told her she should and I would bet that she’s gonna be in it.

A friend in the plumbing business said, “You better use American Standard,” so we got their bathtub. Their sales rep came and talked to us and everything he said was fine. The installation was fine too. They put it in where the old tub is but my husband is tall and he can’t get in it. There are plenty of people who are really tall who can’t fit into that tub. If they can have it made four inches more, it would help a lot. He loves to soak and he would be much more interested in being able to use that tub. We have a 7-foot tub downstairs, but it’s just a plain tub. Nonetheless, our experience with American Standard Walk-in Baths has been perfectly marvelous. I sit in it and massage myself, and my body works better. I wish I had one in every bathroom. In fact, I’m putting one in Florida too. Our tub doesn’t have a heated seat, but I hope I get one for my Florida house. I like American Standard and I have recommended it to more than one person.

I wanted a tub and American Standard seemed to advertise right down the line to what I needed and could afford. The rep who came by was polite. He seemed to know everything we needed to know about the tub and a few extra things. The whole thing went well including the installation. They found something wrong and they immediately took it out and brought another one in. It took them an hour or so more but they did it and got it taken care of. The tub is easier to get into and easier to get out of. Also, the shower is right there. It works well.
But it’s unfortunate that now they have the new tub out that has a heated seat. What I do initially is run warm water over the seat prior to seating down. And when I saw some of the updated tubs, I said that that was what I want. They must have improved on the complaints that were coming in, in terms of how they would reconstruct the new tub. Even though they may be shortsighted on some of the other amenities in the tub, they’ve improved that part of it.
That is what we always aim at, Karen! We want to offer our customers a seamless installing experience and fantastic everyday use, so we are thankful you let us know we succeeded!

Purchased an American Standard Liberation walk-in tub 9/20/2017. One of the points the salesman emphasized was that it was guaranteed for life. If any problems just call 855-225-2183 and it will be taken care of right away. My tub was used 5 times and then nothing. I called the number on 7/13/2018 and received a message that all representatives were busy so leave my name and number and they would call me back as soon as they could. I had received no call back by 7/24/2018 so I called back. The representative said it need an upgrade so she would send the parts for repair and upgrade. I should receive them in two days. When the parts arrived I should call back and let them know and they could schedule someone to make the repairs. I received package on 7/26/2018. I called to let them know I received the parts and to schedule the repair.
I was told the installer would call me within 24 to 48 hours to schedule the repairs. As of 7/31/2018, I had not received a call from the installer (5 days). I called back. I was told he was extremely busy with installs but she would send him an email to call me and get my repairs scheduled. I would be hearing from him very soon. Today is 8/14/2018 and I have not heard from anyone about repairs to my tub. I called again and received the message that all agents are busy and to leave my name and number and they would call me back as soon as they could.
I paid $16,330 for this with the expectation based on assurances that I should have no problems but If I did they would take care of them quickly. I feel that American Standard has misled me. They definitely made untrue statements to me on 3 occasions. At this time I deeply regret having purchased this tub. It is useless to me. I’ve checked the reviews and others have experienced similar problems getting service after the sale. I wish I had read the negative reviews before deciding on this tub. I forgot that if something sounds too good to be true it probably is.

We wanted to redo our bathroom. We had a tub, but we needed a walk-in tub because we were getting older, so chose a tub from American Standard and it has been over a year since they put it in. The sales rep was really good about everything. In fact, he told us that if I'm not gonna use the tub for at least two or three times a week, I shouldn't buy it, but we did anyway. The installation team was really great. As a matter of fact, they noticed that something was not gonna come out the way it was originally designed and it saved us about $1,500. My wife and I both like the tub, although the only thing that we don't like about it is it takes too long to fill up. I would like it to be filled up and just step in. Nonetheless, our experience with American Standard was great.

My experience with the American Standard walk-in tub has been mostly perfectly wonderful, but if I stand to use the shower, it really doesn't work very well. At the time it was installed, it would have been good to have a curtain or some top thing installed as well so that if I want to stand up and use the shower, I can do it without it going on the floor. I may try to get some curtains but we haven't succeeded yet in finding someone who is going to help us with this problem.
The person who worked with me was very nice and careful. He was from Vermont and he wanted to go home every night, which was fine but then he would be stopping at a Home Depot on the way down every day. Although the installation went very well and every spot was cleaned afterwards, the installation could have been quicker.
The troubles I've had with the tub have been minute, but because of the warranty problem, I had to get somebody from someplace to come and fix this tiny thing that takes five minutes. This has happened with the drain and one other thing. It was frustrating not to be able to get somebody out who is handy, but overall, I'm very happy with American Standard and I have recommended them.

I am very disappointed by the quality of this tub. I've had electrical problems ever since installation. The repair technician had to reset the circuit breaker in the tub several times. He finally taught my roommate how to reset the breaker but hasn't solved the basic problem of why it keeps blowing... I will say that getting an appointment is easy and the repairman is available at your time. However. for what I paid for it I'm disappointed.

The sales rep from American Standard was a really nice person. He went through everything and told me how everything would work and that was what really sold me. When my walk-in tub was installed the team cleaned up their mess and everything went well. The only thing I really didn’t realize that when my panel would go off here, all of my features on my tub would stop working so it took about three people to come out. If the panel would go out with buttons, we had to take the panel off and do a reset button on there. I also don’t like that the seat is real hard but other than that it’s okay. I had a stroke and I couldn’t get in to sit down into my regular tub because I wouldn’t have anybody to help me out but it’s easy for me to take a bath now with this walk-in tub. I would recommend it.

American Standard sounded like they knew what they were doing. Their rep was okay but the installers made one mistake. They didn't fasten down the toilet, so it had a leak. Plus, they were slow. They said that the installation would take about 10 days but it took almost three weeks. American Standard didn't seem to have their crews well coordinated.

When we decided that we would get a walk-in tub, we had a whole bunch of different people come in and one of them was American Standard. We knew American Standard had high standards and that was why we chose it. The sales rep who came to our house was very knowledgeable. After we heard a whole bunch, we knew exactly what we wanted. Some of them came in with wonderful pictures and everything, but it didn't tell you much. The installation was very good, too, and was pretty quick. Since having the walk-in tub, I didn't need help getting in and out of it.

The gentleman from American Standard Walk-In Baths that made the presentation was quite good and his product knowledge was excellent. His communication skills were very good. The way he demonstrated the product itself and all the visuals and the material that he showed us convinced us that American Standard's product was head and shoulders above some of the others we had looked and researched. So, we made that decision and we’re very happy with it.
The installation team were really good people. They went A to B. They knew what they were doing. They showed us the jets and the air thing and a little colored light switch, and told us to make sure it’s locked and secured properly. The tub been a big help for me because of my medical condition. It has been very healthy for me and it relieves a lot of inflammation. And if you take one 20 minutes before you go to sleep, you get a fabulous night’s sleep. It’s worth every penny. If have to make that decision again, I would do it in an instant. I recommend it to a lot of people. We're thinking of selling and moving, and we’re thinking about having somebody come out and if the tub can be removed and installed in the new house that we will purchase.

I was in need of a walk-in tub. American Standard's sales agent came here and he was good at representing the product. So, I decided to purchase from them. The two people that came to do the work were professional and timely. But to make the vanity fit in the bathroom, they cut away the molding around the door and I had to have that redone. Also, there were a couple of things I wasn't satisfied with, but overall, the quality of the work they did was good. I would recommend American Standard.

I was looking on the internet at different sales papers and stuff trying to find something that my mother could use where she could step in. We were doing it for her safety. The sales rep from American Standard did pretty well. He showed us the different tubs and stuff that was available. We had to kinda give him our price range and what he had, and they threw the commode in. He was thorough.
The installation team was a little bit late getting here and then the installation took about two days. It was a little bit longer than I thought it was gonna be. And they got called away and had to go somewhere else for five hours. So, that was a little bit disappointing. But when they came, it went pretty good. They knew what they were doing and they jumped right on it once they were here.
However, I got mad. One of the dials on there came loose and it's starting to come out. The part where you get hot and cold water had jerked out the thing. It needs to be replaced. It can't be tightened up. However, everything else was good and the tub is doing what we wanted. Using the walk-in tub is a lot easier for our mom who is 91. In the old tub, you have to step over to get in and this new one is a whole lot better and safer. She's got a chair and the bars in there and the handheld one.

We looked at walk-in tubs online and talked to three of the top rated groups, and American Standard was one of them. The salesman was very, very knowledgeable and comforting. He was able to answer any question we had. The installers were very professional too. They finished the work in two days, and they cleaned up all their mess and left the house neat. My mother needed another grab bar put in, and they came right out and did that. Their service has been excellent.

My experience with American Standard. The salesman lied. He came to our home for the sales pitch, he knew his product very well. Went over everything then he was telling us the price and rebate. I have a disability from being in the military so the salesman told my wife and I that we will get a $6800.00 rebate from the VA. We said to the salesman, "Well if we are going to get a $6800.00 rebate from the VA then yes we will get the tub because almost $19,000.00 is way too much," so the salesman told us, "Yes you will get $6800.00 rebate from the VA" which is not true. A person can get the rebate if they have 100% disability from the military and they qualify through the VA but I have 30% disability so I don't qualify.
During the install of our tub is when I checked into this. I should have checked into this as soon as the sales rep left but no I took his word for it because American Standard wouldn't screw over a vet would they? Seems like they would and they did. I have spoken to a few people from American Standard about this and not one of them has offered any type of rebates or money off because we would never have bought this tub and the salesman knows this. Hope this helps anyone out there thinking of getting this tub. On the positive side the tub works just like they said it would. However American Standard should hire and use their own installers not contractors. Took twice as long to complete as estimated and poor clean up job.

It was hard for my wife to get in and out of the tub, so we chose American Standard Walk-In Tubs. The in-home sales visit that we had was really good and up-to-date. The sales rep, a nice guy, helped us find what we needed. The installers were very professional and they said it would take a couple of days to install the tub, and that was all the time they took to install it. Since using our walk-in tub, my wife has been enjoying it and she's now safer in getting in and out of it.

I bought an American Standard high-rise toilet and I liked a tub to go with it. The salesman sold my wife and I but he knew that we had a 10-inch on our free commode yet they gave me a 12-inch. I called on that and they said that they can’t do anything about it. I had already bought an American Standard 10-inch toilet and I still got the 12-inch out on my patio in the boxes where I couldn’t use them. They also didn’t install the tub the way that they were supposed to. I already had a drywall in there and they were supposed to put all greenboard waterproof paneling drywall.
They never patched the bottom where the old tub went and just let that open. It’s on an outside wall and all the putties and the caulking they caulked around the tub, the top on that side, cracked so I called them and another contractor came here. He re-caulked it and it’s doing good now. However, I don’t know what to do next winter when it gets cold here with that bottom panel. Last winter, when it was cold, I had a hard time keeping the water warm in my tub because about 12 or 14 inches from the floor, we couldn’t do it with the other tub we had. I got foam, but I can’t foam it again. I asked the guy if it would hurt if I had a foam man come out and re-foam that if that foam would get inside the tub because there’s a hole down there in the bottom of the drywall. He said that he wouldn’t do that, so I don’t know what I’m gonna do with it.
The drain also doesn’t have anything to hold it down. Only the water pressure shuts that down. When you drain in the tub, there’s no hard fixed to it. It’s just gravity. It works but they should have something in there that would hold that shut whenever you turn it on. The dial that shuts the drain, should stay shut but you can turn that right and it’ll pick right up out of the drain. I called the guy in Illinois about it and he never called me back so I would like to have a number or somebody I could call in case I have problems here locally because the local company didn’t leave a card.
The tub is alright and I would recommend it, but their installers took shortcuts and were negligent. It cost me $1,700 for that tub and I should have gotten a better job when they should have patched the part down there and then put the tub in, and they installed that tub in about 10 hours. American Standard should have better installers that don’t take shortcuts because they are charging me to redo the whole bathroom with that greenboard. They cut the Whirlpool tub to get it out and they were gonna take off all the rails I had in there for the other tubs around the back, but I told them not to and to bring them back. They already had them loaded up to go with them. They should not have done something like that. I put those rails in my bathroom because my wife is 91 and I’m 87 and we need more steel handrail. They come in handy but they wanted to cart them off.

I went online and searched, and I saw American Standard and a few other bathtub companies. One of them was pushing an all-acrylic item and another one was talking about a heated seat. Those were the ones that I paid attention to, but American Standard was a well-known name to me and I have their water heater and some of their porcelain items such as toilets, so I went with them. The sales representative that came to our home was very knowledgeable. He knew more about the walk-in tub than I asked about and I learned things about it from him that didn’t even occur to me. The installers did a wonderful job. They went through the whole thing in great detail and they were fast. It took them a couple of hours to complete the job and they didn’t leave until we felt comfortable with the item.
My only complaint, though, is how ridiculously expensive the tub is, but we love it and it's worth it. So, we paid for what we wanted. My wife has chronic back pain and she uses the tub all the time, and it’s really helpful. She used to go to a massage therapist, but now instead of doing that she sits in it and gets almost the same relief as she did from the massage person. Also, I have arthritis in my legs and it helps me too, although I don’t sit in there as much as she does.

We searched American Standard on the web and we looked at another brand. We chose American Standard due to their traditional reliability and since their product had more features. The sales representative that we worked with was very personable and he told us what our options were. He was also very helpful with the installation. We had a great experience with the installers that came out, except that they made a big scratch on our wood floor going into the bathroom, although they had put a tarp down, but they have taken care of that for the most part.
But I can only use our walk-in tub in the evening because once I’ve used it, I’m like Jell-O. Also, I’ve had some issues with the tub since using it and I’ve been meaning to call the representative. One of the little jets underneath the feet is not putting out a force over the water as the ones on the other side of it. Then there was a time when the controls stopped working while I was in the tub and we couldn’t get anything to work. But the next time I used the tub, it started and worked fine. I have checked the breakers and made sure that everything is working okay.

I’m 75 years old and my knees don’t work like they used to. I fell a couple of times in my tub and I had little trouble getting in and out of it at times. I was trying to get the VA to get a tub for me because of my situation and the VA sent me a chair to sit in for the shower but I didn’t like that. Then I saw the advertisement for a walk-in tub. I was sitting to wait on my doc’s appointment to the VA and another veteran was telling me about the one that he had. I started looking into walk-in tubs and then I found out that the VA would not help us get one anymore so I decided to get the walk-in tub myself.
I got online and started filling out stuff and American Standard was the only one that really called me back. We had a great talk with the salesperson, Mark, who was a really nice guy. The reps were really knowledgeable and helpful too and we told them we were gonna get the tub. Mark got it set up with the installers and he followed through. However, our doors were not big enough for the tub to fit through, so the crew had to widen the doorways, the bathroom door and the door going to the hall but that didn’t really take that long. I tried to get the guys to take a break one time but they came in and got started and they didn’t stop until late that evening. They didn't gag around, smoke a cigarette or go outside. They did a good job.
We also talk with the reps every three or four months. They call and see how things are. I love the American Standard walk-in tub to death. I spend more time in the tub than I do in my chair. It’s better to sit in the tub than taking a shower and I feel great when I get out of the tub. The only thing I had to do is to get a water heater that was bigger than the 40-gallon tank that I had. I’ve got bad legs and knees from surgeries and a bad back from the service, and the tub is relaxing and comfortable.

American Standard has the best price and I liked the fellow that came to see us but apparently the company didn’t like him because they got rid of him. After I bought the tub, I never saw him. The installation was bad and it took forever. They told me it was gonna take a week and it took about two months. They had the plumbing done and they were gonna bring the tub out. The tub didn’t get here because it was on a guy's pickup truck. The pickup truck broke down, and it was two days before they could get it fixed and get it here. They also had to do a lot of work in our bathroom to get it in. But the quality was good when they got done and I'm satisfied with it. I had to learn to use the walk-in tub. On a regular tub, you can fill it up and then get in. You can't do that with the walk-in tub. You gotta get in first and then fill it up. I recently gone back using the it which I really like. I'm happy with it.

The installation team was good but we lost track of the instruction manual that came with the tub and if American Standard can send us another one, we would appreciate it.

We had looked at American Standard's walk-In tub and we researched on it online. Then their sales guy came to our home and he spent a lot of time telling us about it, and our interactions with him went very well. The installation team that came in to install our tub was good. They moved very quickly and cleaned up after themselves. But it was raining and one of them drove the big truck through the grass in my yard, but they were already gone by the time and I didn’t say anything. I've still got ruts from that and I've been trying to work to get it right. But other than that, everything was fine. The walk-in tub was for my husband and he wanted it more than I did. He had stroke in December, though, so he didn’t get to use it for a long time, but I’ve used it and I've been very relaxed and comfortable after I got out, and there has been no problem in getting in and out of it.

We were doing a remodeling project for my mother that was coming to live with us, so we wanted a tub that she could get in and out of. American Standard has been in business for a long time and there were good remarks about them. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee. Their installation guy came out to see where we were gonna put the tub so that we would have everything we needed in place. He dealt with my husband and got everything set up for that, and when we had it ready, we called him. He came back out and looked at everything and then ordered the tub for us. My mother is in wheelchair and cannot walk, so the tub has helped tremendously. She could get in the tub and then sit in there with confidence to take a bath. We had it serviced one time and it was very easy to schedule. They came right out and repaired the issue.

I was looking online at different walk-in tubs and American Standard was the only one that called me back. So, I purchased from them. The sales rep who came out was wonderful and I’m still in touch with him. The installers were great as well. They were very professional and they worked fast and hard. They also cleaned up, which is a big thing. So far, the tub really helps out with my arthritis. I tell people about it all the time and my sister even bought one after seeing mine. American Standard is a good company. They do their job and there are no hassles. When the paint came off on the tub, they fixed it right away and I had no problems at all trying to get them to do it. They were also not hard to get in touch with. It was a very good experience all the way around.

We did some price checking around and went and looked at a couple of tubs, and then decided on American Standard. Their sales rep was very helpful but it was not installed properly. The installer was rushing and tried to do it all in one day. The caulking job was not very pretty and then, I had trouble with the motor. Water was dripping down in there, so American Standard had to put a new motor. They were very good about calling this one man, George, that they knew could fix anything. It took him two hours and he got everything working and sealed off where the water was dripping down into the motor. Other than that, the service has been good. I'm happy with the tub and I thoroughly enjoy it but I only use it once a week because it takes so much water. I live out here in Rio Vista and we were asked to use water only when it's necessary.

We'd been talking about a walk-in tub for my son who has multiple handicaps. I called around a couple of different places and went with American Standard since I worked for them a number of years ago in Detroit. However, I could never get a hold of the sales rep once we signed the contract and I gave the deposit. I called him many times for different things and he never contacted me back. Also, when the people put the tub in and they were finished, my molding was all chipped up. I called and they told me it looked like it did before they went in, and I said it did not. They also had to cut a part in the bathroom to get the tub in, and they passed it off and plastered it. I told them that they were not leaving it like that, and the guy came out with a spray and said, ‘Here, anytime just spray it on.” It was white and he said that once it dried, I could paint it. It blends in with the rest of the wall though I haven't repainted it yet.
Nevertheless, our workers were very polite and efficient. They came in, did the work and didn’t mess around. The American Standard tub is amazing for what it’s done for my son. My son is a paraplegic and he couldn’t move. Now he's moving and kicking his legs, and he had never done that. It's well worth the money for him. I’ve also used it twice and I felt very relaxed when I got out of there. It was quite expensive but we’re very satisfied with it.

My mother had dementia and we got American Standard Walk-in Baths so we could put her into the bathtub and lock her in there and bathe her with the handheld shower. My daddy is 6’5” so I had to buy a tub that they referred to as the “Big Boy” and it was $7000. It is the biggest that they make and I bought it directly from American Standard. The product is good but their customer service is pathetic and I’m so disgusted with them right now. When we were building a house, I didn’t wanna schedule installers when the house is not yet ready so I had my own plumber put it in. And when my mom died, my dad said that the house they were in was too big for him. So we moved him and the same plumber pulled the tub out and moved it to the next house.
For about six months we didn’t have problems then all of a sudden, the jets of the tub quit working for no reason. I called American Standard and they told me that because we did not have their people install and uninstall the tub they couldn't help me. I said that I still have a $7000 bathtub that cannot be used and I was willing to pay one of their repair people to come out and fix it. They still didn’t help me. The rep suggested that I talk to my plumber so I called my plumber. The plumber had limited knowledge on how the tubs works and he extinguished everything he knew. I called other plumbers but they didn’t work on American Standard.
So I got a bit savvy and started looking at it myself. I used to work on my own car so I’m not totally inept but when I looked under the tub, I said that it really looks like a hot tub. So I called a number of people that work on hot tubs and pool people but all of them were telling me that they don’t work on those machines so I let it sit. I’m a retired medical social worker and an untrained person but I still got the gray matter between the ears so I started looking at it. I started breaking it down and figured out that it simply was not getting power but I didn’t know what I’m looking at. I started pulling random pieces out. I called American Standard directly and got hooked up with my area representative. Then I gave her the part numbers and she had absolutely no idea what I was talking about because there was no correlation between her computer and the people that make it. So I told her that I was gonna go ahead and start piece by piece.
It seemed that all the pieces and parts have a lifetime warranty on them. So as an untrained individual, I called and requested pieces and parts. One of the motors that I have requested is $500 and they sent me the wrong part so I called them. I told them that I’ll be sending everything back to them as I have the original packing slip and box. They said that they don’t need it back and I can keep the part. It seemed that this was a common practice with American Standard. Then, I called my local plumbing company called Coburn’s and I asked them if they do American Standard and they said yes. I asked them if somebody could fix my tub.
Eight months elapsed and I have a $7000 bathtub that does not work. It can be filled but it does not work and it is not doing what it’s supposed to do. The gal at Coburn’s, who was the person who has a constant repertoire with American Standard people, got the same runaround that if they didn’t install the tub, they can’t help. Finally, the girl asking the correct questions and working the system finally got American Standard to say that they used a company in New Orleans before to work on some of their warranty but it was not gonna be covered under warranty. The entire time I was telling them that I will pay and I’m about an hour away from New Orleans.
American Standard’s customer service sucks. They said, “All we do is pick up the phone and we look on the Yellow Pages and we’ll just find a plumber.” But it was not that simple. If my parents did not live in the same town as me, they would have been absolutely screwed. I hope my concern gets to the right people and if it gets to the right people, I’ll be more than happy to talk to them.

A lady came out and visited me and showed me what American Standard walk-in tub was all about, including what kind of parts were put in it. I already had one guy come out and he was not as thorough as she was and he acted like he was in a big hurry. It was probably comparable to that other guy except that I got a nice toilet and American Standard did my door. They made it a 28-inch opening and reframed it. They worked all day and I am just grateful that I have it. The guy told me how to clean it, and I keep scrubbing bubbles on the back of that bathtub and whenever I let the water out, I start scrubbing bubbles and stand up and go down the way and wash the door and and it's just perfect. My tub has the air jets and the other jets. I fill it up and I just sit there and let it run all over. It's very nice.

The sales reps at American Standard were fine and their customer service was very good. I wanted something more comfortable and that would be easier for me, and the tub I got is very comfortable and relaxing. It also cleans itself. Of course, I wipe it down but I'm satisfied with it.

I went with American Standard for the price and I got the best deal for the walk-in tub that I got from them. The in-home sales rep was very personable and he went over everything thoroughly, and we were satisfied. But our experience with the installation team was not that good. They nicked up the walls quite a bit. They widened the door, although they didn’t think they had to, and they never put in a ledge between the two rooms. Nevertheless, the overall quality of the tub is very good.

I like everything that I was seeing on American Standard tubs and the fact that they are American-made. The sales rep who came was very knowledgeable on the product. Then, the installation of the walk-in tub was very well done and finished. And the guy who did that was very nice while he was here. We started looking at websites and different companies and we decided to go with American Standard due to the years of personal service we've had with other products under them. Our interactions with the sales rep went well. He came like he said and explained all the features with American Standard as opposed to a couple of other companies, their warranty, and the track record that the companies had.
The installation process was done in one to two days. They got everything removed, almost installed the first day, and did some touch up the first few hours of the second day. It was done and clean and looks really well. It has the shower and the handle, so my mother uses it to bathe and as a spa to relax. Everybody that we dealt with at American Standard was professional. The people they contracted with to install did a great job and cleaned up, and there was no mess at all. I'd definitely recommend them.

My husband and I were in our 70s and getting an American Standard walk-in tub seemed like a really good thing to do. We also wanted to take our old tub out and remodel our bathroom a little anyway. So we thought that it might be our opportunity to put a new tub in. The American Standard team was very enjoyable to have here as well. They told us exactly what the tub was going to do for us, what they were going to do and how many days the walk-in tub would take to install. And they did a really good job. They took the toilet out to get it out of the way and they put cardboard down on the floor and on the sink top. They were very careful about protecting everything that I had there.
The walk-in tub is pretty and it has the big white sides. I went to Home Depot and bought one of those stick-on gizmos so I have a scene back there and it’s the first thing you see when you walk into the bathroom. My bathroom is an aqua color and it matches perfectly. I get a lot of compliments on how pretty the bathroom is. But one thing that we didn't anticipate was that we had to put in a second hot water tank. It takes a lot of water to fill the tub and it didn’t take us long to figure out that we didn’t have enough water to give ourselves a complete bath.
The second tank was a bit of an expense but we never run out of hot water either so it’s all good. And by using just the bottom half, I don’t have to ever worry anyway. I am still agile enough that I close the door on the tub and squat down in it so it’s like a little Japanese hot tub for me. I just fill it enough to where the bottom jets work and I scrunch down in there. I absolutely love it. I also like the shower head and I like being able to rinse off afterward. We’ve got a beautiful shower in our other bedroom but I never use it. I always take my bath in the walk-in tub.
My husband had leukemia and has since passed away. But I was really glad that we had the tub. He couldn’t take a bath in the walk-in tub because he would have had to be in there quite a while. But he was able to get in there, sit, use the shower part and give himself a good bath rather than having to stand in the other shower which he wasn’t strong enough for. The walk-in tub worked really good for him.
I almost thought that I had made a mistake by putting the walk-in tub in because if I was ever to sell here, it might be a downer that we don’t have an actual tub anymore. We have a shower and then the walk-in. But it’s fun for everybody. My little great-grandsons love it. They get down in the little tub part and they like the lights and the bubbles. I also always tell my friends that having a walk-in tub is the best thing they can do for themselves. It’s a great thing to have when we get older.

I saw American Standard advertised on TV and I know they've been making toiletries and bathtubs for years. They have the long-term experience and they’re reliable also. The sales rep wasn't pushy or didn't try to dunk the product on me. He was very understanding and professional. The installer was great as well. He came in and was done within a couple of days. So far I’m very satisfied with the tub and I haven't had a moment’s problem out of it. Having it relieves a lot of problems if you’re older and you can’t lift your legs up. It’s easy getting in and out, it functions well and it’s reliable.

I purchased a Liberation walk-in tub less than a year ago. 4 months ago, I had some issues with electronics and massage control on tub. I described as best I could on phone what the problems were and they sent parts to my house and technician fixed the one issue but wrong part was sent for 2nd issue which is the Legs only (Jet Massage & Dual Massage) control knob and innards which blew out of the tub while I was using and sprayed water all over. The technician said he never saw this happen before, took a picture, sent to office and said it would take about 4 weeks for the part. So, this means I can’t use my tub until the parts arrive.
Well, today was the 6th attempt at installing the phantom part, which today was a handheld shower wand! Yes, 6th time And I am still without a tub! Think I’m a little upset? He took pictures again, how many more times before this gets fixed right? I am so upset I don’t even know what to do. The technicians feel the same way, and apologize but how can it be wrong 6 times? Please advise me what to do, I have looked for the part on the internet myself but don’t have a number just the description out of the installation manual.

We had a garden tub that was big and nice but my husband had fallen in it twice while trying to get in and out of it. I was scared of him getting hurt so I went with the big, stand-up tub. He’s not wheelchair-bound but he can’t get around good. There was a guy on TV and I called that company. A guy came out here and wanted $20,000. I gave them $1,000 deposit but then I talked to my son and he said half of it was for installation. He told me that I could get out of that and he would install it for me so I called and canceled the order.
I looked at my husband’s VFW book and they had American Standard’s 800 number there. I called and told the representative what I was looking for. He said they had it and that they would ship it. He said that it would be $5,000 and I asked how we were gonna do it. He got my debit card number and said that when we get the tub signed for, he would use my debit card and take the $5,000 out of our account. And that was what he did. So it worked out really for me since I can’t go out and get a lot of things. I’ve got to order them.
American Standard shipped the tub right out, along with a couple of panels so we can hide the front end part of it if we want to. But it worked fine for us. My son put it in the place of the garden tub and everything works just like they said it would. It’s also got the same qualities as the one that the other guy wanted all the money for. The only thing I don’t like about it is my husband’s got a big belly and he has a hard time shutting the door. He can get in but he’s got to turn around, put one foot up on the stool, and turn in order to get the door shut. But he loves the tub. He just crawls in, fills it up, turns the noise on and enjoys it for a while. He shaves and fixes his hair there then he just showers off since we got a spray nozzle on too. Then he starts emptying the tub and he’s done.
The American Standard is a great tub and I’ve told a couple of people who have asked me about it. There was one couple who had a walk-in tub put in their home but the woman was really upset because it was so expensive. When you’re retired and your body’s falling apart, it’s really hard to get a hold of something that you’re gonna pay halfway decent price for. But I’ve been happy with American Standard. It helped us out tremendously especially after it was gonna cost me $20,000 and so many years to pay for the other one. It also took me days to get the deposit back on that one. So I was happy to be able to just pay $5,000 and get it over with it. Several people have called and also ordered things over the telephone instead of going to the stores, and they’ve been happy with the product as well.

The salesman came to speak to me and he was very polite and friendly. I showed him the two ads that I saw in the magazine, and asked about the flat thing right under the faucet. He said it was the door and it opens all the way. Then I asked about the other picture and he said that the door on that tub is wider than the previous tub that I showed him. And very politely he said that I have wide hips so I might have trouble being comfortable in that other tub. Their tub is wider, which is why the door opens all the way.
We also had a nice long discussion of the pricing. When my mother moved here with me 2005, she wanted to get a tub. Her sister-in-law in Indiana said that it would cost $30,000. And the American Standard salesman said that price was for a certain brand. He said that brand has all these things, whether you need them or not. I also made an appointment with the other company and I’m glad that the American Standard salesman came first because I might have been susceptible to the other one. In the end, I went with American Standard and my tub wasn't anywhere near that cost.
So I got the American Standard installed and the two guys who did it were professional. Everything was so quiet that there were times when I didn’t even know the two of them were together in the bathroom. They did what they needed to do, and fixed what they needed to fix. And they were gone when they were all done. It just took about two days.
I’m very happy with my American Standard walk-in tub. I love my bath this morning. I can sit, I could stand if I wanna stand. And I can also take a quick shower. I could use as little water as I want, or I can fill it all the way and relax. And whenever I’ve had anybody in and I’m showing my house, I would also show off my tub. I recommend it.

I’m handicapped and I can’t stand to wash my hair. I’m afraid of falling in the tub too. The American Standard sales representative that I talked to was very knowledgeable and he answered all of my questions. The installation process for the walk-in tub went very well. They did what they had to do to get the tub in and they cleaned up. We had a problem with the handle as the lamination was coming off of it, and they handled that really good by replacing it. And since using our walk-in tub, we feel a lot better. It helps our aches, pains, and weary muscles. If we have the room to put another one in another part of the house, we would. American Standard has been very good with us and we’re very satisfied. We would also recommend it to any of our friends who would want to do it because it would change their lives.

I like the reputation of American Standard. I also like their tub that gets rid of the water. The interaction with the rep was fine. I had no problems. He was knowledgeable as well. Also, the installation went pretty good but I wouldn't say 100%. The caulking between the tub and the wall is beginning to loosen. Even so, I like the tub. I wish it was deeper but I get around that by sitting down in the foot area and getting the water up above my neck. Also, we got an allowance for a water heater but they really didn't emphasize how big the heater we should have. They kinda played around that. But other than that, I've been perfectly satisfied. I would also tell others that I had a good experience with American Standard.

Since I was having difficulty using a regular bathtub and a shower, I decided to get a walk-in tub from American Standard. The tub was the second one I’ve had in different houses, so I knew what I was getting. Their salesman was very helpful and it was very pleasant doing business with him. He was very knowledgeable and he showed me more of the settings that are in the tub. With this secondary tub, I had to walk to the other side of the house as it’s in the smaller bathroom. The installation of it was very fine and I was surprised that the plumbing was the reverse of how the bathtub had been. American Standard Walk-in Baths is the answer to a lot of the problems as it makes it so much easier to shower or to take a bath.

American Standard has a lifetime guarantee on the labor and the product. The in-home sales representative who came in had spent plenty of time and showed us everything. He was very nice and knowledgeable. Apparently, the installation was difficult but the team did a good job. They were also very friendly, polite, and they cleaned up nice. The walk-in tub is for my mother and she is enjoying it. That’s the only way she can bathe. I'm very satisfied with American Standard and I advise others to do it too.

The sales rep of American Standard came out and made a very good presentation. The lifetime warranty that they provided for their product attracted us. Also, the price was competitive. Since using the walk-in tub that we got from them, I feel much better and it was a really nice experience. But one of the jets is not working and I haven't yet reported this problem to them. Nevertheless, American Standard is a good and reliable company to deal with. My furnace and air conditioner are also from this company and I noticed in ConsumerAffairs that their product was the highest in terms of repairs.

Not satisfied with the walk in tub. Too restrictive. Excessive amount of water. Not cost effective to use. Previous photos show person in tub covering her neck. The only way that will happen is if you try to lay down which may unsafe.

American Standard's sales rep was excellent, however, the installation team was awful. They had to cut a hole in the side of the wall to get the tub in and they did an awful job patching that hole. They also did a very bad job with caulking the tub and we had to have them re-caulk it. But, they still had some problems and had to re-caulk it again. We just ended up fixing the wall ourselves. We had enough of them and just wanted the vendor to be out. The vendor traveled from several states away to get here and just wanted to be out of here too. The sales rep initially said that it was gonna be local people working on it, but that turned out not to be the case. Had they had local people to come and do the installation, it would’ve gone smoothly.
