Water and sewer line plans

The company offers separate water and sewer plans and a combined water and sewer line protection plan that features up to $5,000 in coverage per 12-month period and $2,500 per line.

Ultimate electronics plan

This plan offers protection that's not found in a manufacturer’s warranty. It offers coverage for:

  • An unlimited number of devices
  • One laptop battery replacement annually
  • Power surges
  • Spills, drops and cracked screens on portable devices
  • Workmanship and material defects
  • Mechanical or electrical failures due to wear and tear

Smartphone coverage

Smartphone coverage protects all active smartphones in your home, no matter their age. It covers cracked screens, liquid damage, accidental damage and mechanical failure. You’ll get up to two claims over a rolling 12-month period and you can claim up to $1,000 per claim and $2,000 per year.

ARW Home’s plans range from $39.99 to $84.99 per month. Below are the monthly costs for each of ARW Home’s coverage plans and optional add-ons.

ARW Home coverage exclusions

ARW Home’s coverage excludes:

  • Damage due to negligence, misuse, accidents or abuse
  • Preexisting conditions, defects or deficiencies
  • Damage from natural disasters, pets, pests or vandalism

    American Residential did what they were supposed to do. They were very good at explaining things. I did most of the claims process online and American Residential got back to me pretty quickly within a day, and then they set up a vendor to come check out. We had some issues with our oven, and within four days, someone came and looked at it. He was a very good technician. He was very informative and polite. But when I had a claim for the stove, they couldn't do the repair because the stove was so old that they couldn't get parts for it. So, it ended up that we had to get a new oven. I'd recommend them. It's a good service. I like what they had to offer. The way they handled things was a little bit better than the warranty company I was with before. So far, I've been happy with them.

      I would like to express my deepest appreciation to Angel, who was my customer service professional today. Earlier this morning, I received a call from ARW, informing me about a newly added sewer coverage policy. I listened to him, and our signals got crossed. He mistakenly added the coverage without my explicit agreement. My account was charged.

      I called to correct this charge. Angel was my service professional. She was empathetic, kind,and reassuring. She understood my skepticism about ARW having such easy access to my account. She also confirmed that my account would be credited today. She also reassured me that ARW is a great company and would never intentionally mislead anyone. Our phone connection cut off. Angel called me back twice. She was very concerned that the phone disconnect would cause me more concern. She actually CARED about me as a person in a vulnerable situation. She is model of how to build/rebuild trust with a customer!

      My husband decided on American Residential and it’s been less than a year since we’ve had the warranty. I reached out to them by phone when we were having issues and everyone was pleasant. We had to purchase the water heater and then American Residential gave us $500 towards it. So, that was very helpful and it was a good experience because the water heater is almost $2,000 when you purchase one. They had it installed, too, so that went well.

      I had an issue with the refrigerator because they didn’t have the part for it. For instance, it’s June 1st, and the part wasn’t going to arrive until around June 15th. In the meantime, I had a refrigerator full of food and all that was in the freezer had to be thrown away. I was frantic about all the food I had to discard, and it was taking a long time for the part to arrive. I didn’t want to wait and American Residential gave me $500 toward the purchase of a new refrigerator. Since they had already ordered the part for the old one, I had to pay a restocking fee. An exception should have been made because the part was taking so long to arrive, and I should not have had to pay the restocking fee.

      I’ve been with American Residential for a few years now. When I submit a claim, sometimes it's long, sometimes it's not. But the reps I interacted with have been very good. However, when you’re on the phone, you should be able to hit zero and take you to an operator right away, if you choose that. My recent claim was for the AC unit, and the fan broke. They had to replace the parts on the fan for the outside. The tech who came out was very polite and professional. Then, I got another and the tech was a bad one. Because he was in a rush, trying to get out of there. He didn't even do anything. I just reported what happened, and that was it, and then they got me a different person.

      I've been dealing with ARW Home for so long. I reach out to them by phone. Customer service is good. Every time I reach out to them, they get me the service I need. The last time that I had something going on, I had a drainage problem and they sent someone out. They came and looked at it, and then they left and said they had to recalibrate something to get an approval. I got frustrated with that because it took them a couple of days and I didn't want my system to back up and overflow inside my house because it was running over on the outside. So, that took a couple of days and I was really afraid. I had to keep going outside looking. Every time somebody goes to the bathroom, I go outside to make sure stuff was running out. So, that frustrated me.

      I was calling because I made my payment that I was supposed to make, I did everything I was supposed to do, and it's been a couple of days and I don't know what's going on. I'm afraid my house is going to get backed up from my sewage and that's going to be terrible. Then that's going to cost me flood damage in my house from the sewage. They finally got it fixed. So, I was a little bit comfortable then. They did a good job.

      ARW is another scam. They say it is covered when signing up the contract, but when you have a problem, they will say it is not covered. Do not sign up with ARW. A simple example. Garage motor is covered, but attachment to the garage motor is not covered like chain, etc. They will not tell this before. Another example. HVAC is covered but they do not cover the drain pan which is filling up with water. Another example... Water heater is covered but if it is not heating properly that is not covered.
