    I called almost 2 weeks ago because I’m having problems with my toilets. They sent me a message stating they had somebody for me. The number I called is a number for a private residence. I called. They sent me another company and that was an air conditioning company not a plumbing company. They sent me another company when I called that company. They told me that they’re not connected with American Residential Home Warranty so I would have to pay them upfront and then get reimbursed. When you call ARW most the time you’re on hold listening to this crappy music for over an hour, sometimes two hours, and then they disconnect from here. I am in the process of getting a new home warranty company.

    I have had very little help getting claims through. Had a HVAC failure (live in Tucson Az). After multiple attempts was given permissions to go outside of their service providers. In doing so I had to pay the total and request a refund. ARW wants a detailed invoice which service provider did a hand written and still nothing from ARW for reimbursement. Have had 2 other issues that has taken several days to get a response. One is a water leak in the house. When I called in to get a service provider (72 hours) after filing claim. The agent on the phone stated " would not worry about a water leak in your home”. I stated I would not worry about one in her home either but do worry about it in my home! Please make sure you shop around for a more responsive warranty company!!!

    We put in a claim in July 2023 to have our air conditioner served and the fee was withdrawn out of the checking account. An appointment was scheduled for the company to come out but they never showed up, a second appointment was made and still they were a no show. We made contact with ARW several times with the situation unresolved.

    It is now August 15, 2023 and the the air conditioner has not been serviced. The representative today stated we have to put in another claim. I asked why we have to put in another claim and be charged another fee when the first claim has not been resolved and be charged another fee. I asked her to pull up the original claim instead of asking both of us the same questions over again. I asked to speak with a manager and she stated he was on vacation and no one is taking his place. I did find that hard to believe, so now I am waiting for her to contact us back today as she stated. I hope this issue get resolved soon.

    American Residential kept raising my rate. I didn't appreciate them. One reason why I hate giving out my credit card information is because they do what they wanna do with it. When we first started, my bill was $63. Then, they took out 64. The next month or two, it went up to 65, and then it went to 70. Now, it's 78.05. My contract is still under the 64, but this is what they take out of my account. I happened to call and ask for a new booklet because I had misplaced mine, and I got it, and it shows me on the contract that it's 64.05, not 70.05. They've been stealing from me. When I reached out to them, they said, "Oh, it was a mistake. They added it wrong." I'm sick of them. I changed my program with them. I had the appliances, and I changed the whole house. And when I did that, they deducted the fee twice.

    When I brought it to their attention, they said, "Oh no, no, that's from last month." I said, "At the last month, it was less, because I had a different contract with you. It's right there in my account. You can look and see." Then they said, "Oh, well, you didn't pay last month." I said, "How do you mean I didn't pay? You can see it right here." Nothing happened until my card expired, and so, they couldn't draw any more money out from me. That was when they called me asking for the new number. I said, "I'm not giving you my new number because you still owe me money from the $75 that you deducted from my account twice incorrectly."

    This went on for a few days. A supervisor got involved, and I told her again what had happened. They apologized and wanted to send my money to me. So I said, "No, I said you keep it because you're not getting my card number, and I'm through with you." I hung up. I didn't collect my money. I did cancel it. They apologized and said, "I hope you come back." They were very good. I enjoyed them and I enjoyed the service that I received, but it was just that thing. I hope I could find someone out there that's honest and would do the right thing and not take advantage of having this information and doing what they want with it.

    When I had them come out to work on my air conditioner because it wasn't turning on, they worked on the wrong one. I said, "Nothing was wrong with that. The one downstairs is the one that didn't turn on." I have two separate air conditioners, one upstairs and one downstairs. This year, I had someone to come out. It was a new one that came out to work on it because the one downstairs, again, wasn't blowing any air. The one that came out the second time this year to service it was good. I appreciate them. He looked at it and said, "Oh, I had to work on something, because, somehow, the wires got disconnected or something was wrong with it. They did something with the wiring." He fixed it, and it's working fine now.

    We called American Residential Warranty for the faucet handle that broke. After I sent them the $75 copay, they sent a man out here to fix it. He had it fixed in about 30 minutes. For American Residential Warranty, the process worked well. But for the company, I had three appointments with them, but they never showed up. I finally had to call them and ask if they were coming. They came out that day which was on a Saturday. They replaced the faucet. The part I'm unsatisfied with is the different fees that I get on a monthly basis. They'd taken out of our bank account about two different times. I thought that was supposed to have been a one-time fee.

    My parents have been waiting soon to be two months start June 19 2023. They are both eldering with health and mobility issues. ARW and their contact KTrax Pro... has don't little to get my parents' dryer repaired or replaced. It's has been 102 degrees in Texas ... they have had to pack heavy laundry back and forth because the service contract has failed to repair or follow up to fix the dryer. ARW process to escalate is all talk and no action. I have opened a case with the TAG office consumer affairs and state and licensing office. The customer service department has no sense of urgency and it you find one person. They want just put you on hold. Who will listen? They are powerless to make a difference.

    Avoid this warranty company and Ktrax at all cost. They don't follow through to replace or use contracts that repairs your appliances correctly. You are left giving money for a service call and paying 75.00 a month rate of $84.99... with still a broken dryer! It's ashamed how they treat elderly people and make no means to resolve beyond stall tactics to avoid covering or replacing an item.

    The customer service team support team managers and dispatch are the worst group of none working individuals I have come across in all my 25 years in Quality Assurance Management! The owner Josh has created a Convoluted network of poorly center customer first practices... it's a none stop inconvenient processes to delay in fixing, restoring or replacing customers' appliances. They do everything, but make sure things are done in a timely manner. They select contracts with the lowest rating like Ktrax who shows up, claims to fix problem but it fails and never comes back to finish the work! How these two companies are still able to be licensed in the state of Texas is amazing. They have bad business practices that are worthy of a Class Action Lawsuit!

    When my air conditioner went out, ARW didn’t pay for it. They bought me out and gave me $1,400. But I had to pay 6,200 to get a new AC. When my washing machine went out, they said it was old and gave me 300 on that. They told me I could go to Lowe's and find a washing machine for $300. But there isn't anywhere in the world you could find a new washing machine for $300. And when my fridge went out, they gave me $175 and said it would cost too much to get the fridge fixed because it was 20 years old. That upset me because they knew everything that they insured wasn't new except the washing machine.

    Also, the deductible went from $55 to $73. You have to give them that first before they process a tech gets scheduled to come out. Other than that, ARW sent out techs who unstopped the bathtub and put in a new faucet in the kitchen. The techs I had were all good and the last one who came out to unstop the bathtub was really nice. But the company they sent out to look at the air conditioning let the Freon out and broke something off. He told me what it was and he thought that ARW was going to do a new one if he did that, but they didn't do it.

    We like how fast the repair guys come about getting things fixed. They had to come out recently about our dryer, because the heating element went out. They said that they couldn't come for almost a week, but I asked them, "Please, if they could come before that," and they sent someone within two days. The repair people spoke to us about what the issue was, and we explained that it stopped getting hot, then they went in the basement. We didn't go with them, but we assumed they checked out what was going on, because they came up and told us then that they were able to fix it a bit that it would work for a day or two until the part we had to wait for came in. It worked until the part came in. Also, they informed us it could be a week to 10 days, and it was only 2 days later. I was very happy with that.

They get us what we need to be able to fix things as soon as possible. Since we've had the home warranty, we've had four things that they needed to come in for through the years.     The techs do a good job once they come out but the reps ask so many questions before they get to your problem when I call to file a claim. I'm thinking about switching because ARW Home takes too long to find somebody to come out. My drain was stopped up in the basement and somebody came out and unclogged the drain. But it took almost eight days in order to get somebody out here. When my furnace broke, it took almost a week and a half, and it was during Thanksgiving. We were cold in the house. I also had a claim on my television when it went out. The techs got it, fixed it and brought it back. It took about a week to complete that.

    When there is an issue with one of my appliances, I can just call ARW and schedule an appointment for somebody to come out and look at it. And there's no additional cost out of my pocket. I have had issues in the past with people giving me misinformation, but once that was clarified, I've not had any issues with calling and submitting a claim or even following up on it. The contractors have been good. I’ve heard some horror stories of individuals who have used this company also and the contractors they have had the displeasure of working with. But in my own personal experience, the contractors seem to be knowledgeable of what the issues are.

    The product that ARW provides is good. I've had simple fixes like someone coming in and changing the igniter on my oven, to people coming in and looking at my washer and it not being able to be replaced, and then sending me a check for a replacement. ARW alleviates a lot of the headache of trying to figure out how to contact someone, where to find a contractor, how long it's going to take and what additional cost they're going to charge you to fix something. You'll pay your initial fee and then those contractors come out and either fix it or make a recommendation that it's not able to be fixed. I have not had any issues thus far and I would recommend having that peace of mind of having your major appliances and things covered, especially if they're not under a manufacturer warranty anymore.

    I made a claim for my washing machine and I called ARW. They collected the fee and connected me with the contractor. The tech missed the first appointment and then another guy called. He came the next day and had a bit of an attitude and didn’t say much. He fixed the problem with the washing machine and the agitator was in place but there was a little cap that he left off. I was able to push it back on myself. It’s part of ARW’s policy that they'll replace something, but as far as replacement, it can't be fixed. Prices keep going up, so they only give you a partial replacement amount. It should be higher. But ARW is good. They cover just about everything in the house.

    Do yourself a favor and go through your policy with a fine tooth comb. The policy caps all major appliances at low amounts. If your appliances are 10+ old the cap is even lower. When I tried to cancel they hit me with so many fees that it was basically not worth it. It’s difficult because the customer service is better than most but the policy’s are terrible. Thought this company was a step above the rest but it’s the same dog and pony show.

    If I call American Residential Warranty, they try to get on the situation right away. Sometimes it's held up by the local people they're trying to get to come fix whatever I need, but other than that, the service is very quick. I've had claims for my dryer and the faucet on my bathtub that was leaking bad. If I call a regular plumber, he's gonna charge me $100 to $200 an hour and it's gonna become very expensive 'cause they're gonna get their money. They're gonna stay hours if necessary. With American Residential Warranty, I just paid the $75 service charge and the service people were able to repair everything when they were here. They were very nice and courteous too.

It took almost a month and there was some back and forth with Lowe's that I didn't like. But that got squared away. Another thing I don't like is the window of service they give. They say, "We're going to be between 8:00 to 12:00 or 1:00 to 5:00.” And if they don't make it, then I've lost the day at work. If I can find a company that says, ‘We can put your window down to a hour or two,”, I'm going to switch to them immediately.

    We had a claim in April and nothing was done. We were waiting for the technician. It was already June and we were still waiting and calling and following up. It was just a nightmare. It took two months for them to send a technician to my house. The workers were fine but they have terrible customer service. Every time I call, no one knew who I was, which was fine. But then if I give you my membership number, you should be able to see what is going on. I don't have to tell the problem to a hundred people. I tell them what's going on, and that person transfer me to another one. If I call every day, because I used to call every day since April, I have to tell them the whole thing all over again. Because they don't assign you someone to be on top of your problem. The experience was terrible. So we canceled ARW.

Last night, I was on the phone with American Residential Warranty for about 40 minutes to submit that new claim for the electrician. The rep didn't even tell me it was going to be an electrician. He said he would send somebody that had more experience out there that could complete the job. Long story short, when I called this morning, there was no record of that call. He had never submitted the claim. So this morning, I had to resubmit another and I made sure to get the confirmation text.

    I don't know if the reps have to be on the phone for a certain amount of time because you're on hold forever. They say, "We just have to look at your account." Then you're on hold, and then you're on hold for anybody to answer. It's so frustrating. I hate the company. The rep said that the company that they contacted has 24 hours to respond. I said, "But is there any way that you can make it an urgent call? Because I've been out of air since Sunday night." He said, "Well, I'll put it in my notes." So I called the company because I want to make sure that they know or they got the information right. But nobody answered. It was a recording. It was around lunchtime so I thought they were just at lunch. So I left a message. I'm hoping that they'll get back to me with some kind of estimated time. But they do have 24 hours. So I understand that.

    I switched to American Residential Warranty because they were $15 cheaper than my other warranty. They said they would do it for $55 but after two months, they started charging me almost $90 without my consent. I called them up and they said, "Yeah. You upgraded." But I told them that I didn't. So they refunded my money.

    They sent out a nice guy to look at my tenant’s air conditioner. They did okay. I was satisfied. The guy was very nice. When ARW sends someone out, I pay the $75 to get started. Then with the AC claim, it was an additional $200. We had a storm the very next day, and the tenant messed with the circuit breaker. I didn't know they had power outage. They said the heating wasn't working, so I called the rep back. He sent somebody else out and I had to pay for that. But he was nice about it. He gave me a discounted rate for a return trip. Overall, I like that I don’t have to go around looking for somebody since I have ARW. If there was a problem with the technician or with the business owner, then I could always call ARW and they can send someone else out that I could be satisfied with.

The plumber that ARW sent out said the hot water heater needed to be replaced. They waited 3 weeks to send out another plumber who is saying the exact same thing. Every time I call, they say that the claim is still under review. Every time I call, they say that they are escalating my issue and someone will call and let me know something. I never get a call. It seems that they don't want to pay for a new water heater. They do not honor their warranty contract.

    I happen to suffer from PPMS, (Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis) and it creates what's known as MS brain fog, which means it is very hard for me to remember things. Anyway, I had a horrible experience with my last warranty company because they would withdrawal money from my account on the wrong date and they never once sent out a technician after I told them my refrigerator stopped working and that I was about to lose over $300 of food that I just bought. They didn't care. I lost all of the food that I just bought and had to go to a used appliance store to get another refrigerator. I lost almost $1,000 after the food and cost to replace my fridge. And when I decided to go with ARW, I told the agent to set my payments for the 3rd of each month but that must have been lost in translation because I received a text message that said I missed my payment date.

    Long story short, I called this morning and spoke with Joel. He was very kind and patient with me as I explained all the above to him. He also assured me that he made it so that all future payments would not be taken out before the 3rd, except for if the 3rd was on a Saturday or Sunday then it would come out on the Friday before, but that is perfectly fine with me. In conclusion, I would just like to say, keep up the good work.

I am so happy they finally got this resolved. I will not be canceling at this time and unless I have another issue I will recommend them to others.     We have had 2 good experiences with ARW, however, we are now in the middle of a not so good one. First I want to say while all of the representatives are a little hard to understand, with all having accents, every single one has been very friendly, and I've called a lot lately. Our microwave kicked the bucket and it's very old and we did not expect to get much for it and knew without a doubt no parts would be found but we figured we would get "something". They had a technician on site in 2 days, that was 29 days ago, no resolution. I sent a cancellation notice by USPS. They keep telling me that the technician needs to get in touch with them but I contact them and they say they have been emailing back and forth since the gentleman was here. I'm done. Grandkids coming tomorrow and no microwave. Don't waste your time with this company if you have older appliances.

    A letter from the CEO, undated...another example of poor communication with ARW. Telling me the experience would improve BUT the costs will rise. That is always a good customer relations ploy. Also suggesting claims would take place in the US... I am sure they took place in the US...just the operators used were cheaper labor...and could not understand English.     I was contacted by Jason ** who I had spoken with before at length for insurance that ARW offers. As before, Jason was expertise in conveying the insurance available and the reason why ARW was the insurance to have. I had already insured all my appliances and ac. I soon as I heard the value and pricing to insure the sewer and water lines from my property to the utilities end of the street; I was sold. I have used the ARW insurance because my dryer went out. I paid the 50 dollar fee and the repair man was there that afternoon. After having to wait just one day for parts; I was back drying clothes as if the machine was new.

    I highly recommend ARW and Jason ** as your go to guy - for these types of insurance needs - on items that are used frequently and unfortunately do fail; in our homes. Jason has an easy going attitude and factual knowledge that is easy to understand. He has a friendly and honest attitude and not a pressure or rude sales pitch; that we find in lives these days..     The agent that sold me the policy told me that if an appliance broke that they would fix it and it would be fixed quickly. I read my contract when it came and saw there was a $500 cap on appliance and $1,000 cap on HVAC, so that was the first lie the agent told me. When I called to schedule a claim, it took 2 weeks for them to come see my fridge. I was then sent a letter a week later saying my claim was denied and that they would send me $300, not $500. They took $200 to pay the appliance co for the assessment. Why would they go with a company that charges $200 for an assessment. I thought the $55 covered the assessment. I called the appliance co to pay out of pocket to fix my fridge and its been about a month and my fridge is still not fixed.

    I called the appliance co yesterday and today and I received no response. $200 for a company that does not respond and has yet to fix my fridge! I'm so disgusted with the service and the fact I thought I was with a warranty co that would be fast to respond to a breakdown and that would fix my problems, neither has happened!

    Mr. ** in the Florida office was amazing! He was SO patient, informative, polite to the 9 for sure and just an overall pleasure to do business with. He DID NOT pressure me in any way to upgrade my services, but instead educated me on how upgrading would be a benefit to me. He took the necessary time (even though it was well over the 30 minute time limit the reps get; which I feel is EXTREMELY rude for a company to do) to make sure he answered all my question to where I understood. I absolutely enjoyed speaking with him and I told him talking with him helped me to not cancel my service with ARW.

    Not only is ARW's website HORRIBLY laid out, but it is missing information that potential customers would want to see to help them determine if they would want service from the company. Also, for us customers who have an account with ARW, that account layout is a joke as well. I've had claims and nowhere in my account does it show that I've made a claim, the progress of it or that it has been completed. ARW, get your online website and customer accounts a HUGE makeover. Again, as for Mr. **, you rock, you're a great customer service agent and I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully our paths will cross again.
