Bottom freezer keeps icing up and we called service and they showed up. First guy says it's the seal and orders. Next guy comes to install and states it's not the seal but rail. He heads home and orders rails and still freezer icing up. He returns and installs and 3 weeks later it starts icing again so I call back and take the day off work. NO SHOW and excuses for why they no showed. Again guy shows up Monday and states it's fine to have ice and it's user error. WTF you open and close a freezer, how is that human error. They have no clue and no idea what they're doing, stay away and save your sanity and money. This is exactly why Sears is going out of business.

I have a Samsung washer that needs repair. This is the only company Samsung contracts with and they are horrible. First after sitting and waiting for them in my 4 hour window they call at the last minute to tell me there are still 3 people ahead of me and it would be several more hours. On the next appointment when they actually show up the technician didn't know anything and recorded the awful grinding sound with his phone and said someone would get back to me. He said it with little confidence and followed by saying if it gets worse just call back.
So after a couple weeks of nobody calling me I called A&E back and was given a runaround. I was told I would have to pay for someone to come out again. I disagreed and then they told me to call Samsung to set up and appointment through them. After calling back and forth to A&E and Samsung several times (over 90 minutes) I was finally given an appointment but could not be guaranteed a different technician would come out to service the washing machine. I asked to speak to a supervisor so I could get some of my questions answered and the operator at A&E hung up on me. I do not recommend their service and I do not recommend a Samsung washer as mine has been broken twice in 15 mos. and the horrible company A&E is the only service option.

Let me begin by saying this is the absolute worst service I have ever had. They scheduled it for the wrong address and when I called to confirm two days prior I changed my address to the right one and they confirmed the appointment time and day will not change. I took off work to be here and I received a call from the technician (automated message) saying they were on their way. I noticed the number and called A&E and was told they were still coming and not worry. I received another call saying they messed up and just rescheduled me the following Monday. First off, who can take Friday and Monday off to sit around for hours waiting for someone to show up. I called back and told them that doesn't work and they didn't care at all. I called Home Depot where the protection plan is and she supposedly called and said they will be here today but unsure the time.
When I called at 3 pm to see what time they will be here they said they weren't coming today. I was informed they are not even in the United States but didn't have a number for anyone here. When I complained to them they just cancelled the appointment for Monday and didn't tell me. I wouldn't of found out have I been so frustrated and called another number. That would've been two days of sitting here and over a week with no washing machine with five people's clothes stacking up. This company is complete garbage and should have to pay us for wasting our time. How are they still in business? How can Home Depot use them? Right now I wouldn't use them or purchase anything from Home Depot again. Please listen to my review and avoid them!

They still owe money to us. They require you to buy a contract and then gave us the run around as to when they will send out a service-man. Waited for weeks! Still trying to get money back on parts for the 8 month old LG refrigerator they said we need. The refrigerator is now in the dump. Do NOT CALL THEM!

Technician came to do an assessment on my range. He turned the gas off to the stove, but did not turn it back on. I couldn't move the stove to figure out how to turn it back on. I called A&E, they said they would send a request for the technician to call me back. He did not call. I called again, they said they would have another technician come back out, however it would cost $89.00 to have them come out and turn the gas back on. After further discussion, they offered a 30% discount, then a 50% discount on the service charge. When the supervisor came on the line, there was no more discount. The central call service center is located in Republic of Columbia. The referrals given to me by the service technician for new products were all directed to Sears. Therefore the true problem. Never again will I call A&E, and I will continue to avoid Sears.

I'm in total agreement with most of these reviews. I can't believe with this many complaints you're still in business and you haven't improved. I'm waiting on your tech to repair my dryer for the 3rd visit to install a part that was diagnosed on first visit but was never ordered, so like most of the customers I've waited a week to 10 days in between calls. My water valve was leaking on this Samsung dryer, it has saturated everything in it. The 1st tech left it setting here with water in drum area. She did turn off the water and unhooked the hose. 2nd tech nice but couldn't finish the job because 1st tech ordered 1/2 the parts needed to complete. He at least managed to get it drying again, so now parts have been here for a week and waiting for tech on third time visit.
Purchased mine at hhgregg and I had no better results from local and corporate on resolving this problem. Told to let extended warranty do its thing. So almost a month later, hopefully today will be the last time I deal with these people. Looks like as consumers we don't have much choice. I can furnish purchase and all receipts involved with this complaint.

I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes in 2014. The problem started in about 7 months after purchase. Lowes sent out a company and he fixed the problem. About 6 months later or less, the same problem. This time Lowes used A&E Services. It took a week for them to come out. The technician did not know what he was doing and he was calling his manager. I explained to him what the last tech did but he ignored me. In about 30 mins or so, he said I need a new part ( which was a latch). I'm not a technician but I knew this was not the problem but anyway, he said he would order the part and would be back in two weeks. The part came in a few days but I had to wait two weeks.
He came back in two weeks, put the part on, turned the machine on, and left. Needless to say, it didn't work. I called them back the same day and told them that it was not working and could the tech come back. They claimed that he would, but it has been over 2 weeks again and supposedly he will be out today between 8 and 12. Now they are saying I'm the last appointment of the day. I told customer service that my appointment was for a.m. She stated that the tech had a high escalation. Now Lowes is telling us that they will buy us out at 40%. This is a bunch of baloney as well. This dishwasher has not been used a lot. I had to buy another dishwasher that will be close to $600.00 and they are only willing to give a little over $200. I will not buy insurance from Lowes again.

We bought a Kenmore dryer 7 months ago. It quit. 6 weeks later still doesn't work! My wife waited all day on 2 occasions and a repairman never showed. When one finally did he diagnosed the circuit board. Got another appointment to get it installed. Different tech shows up, installs circuit board, dryer not fixed (can you say mis-diagnosis?). That tech orders a motor (let's throw another part at it!!), it comes in, we get an appointment for install, same tech comes out and says the stack kit for dryer is not factory and he can't take it apart (per his boss). Funny I bought the stack kit from Sears when I picked up the dryer and Sears has a record of it.
So after 6 weeks of hanging our laundry on the front porch we will go to a LOCAL appliance store and buy a new dryer. We are tired of living 3rd world and we deserve a working dryer. Sears and their incompetent friends at A&E are incapable of fixing this one so we will have to spend our money on their broken promise of a warranty and hope they will refund the purchase price of their failure or we will have to donate more time to their sad operation in small claims court.
When Sears goes out of business I will fully understand why. They do not honor their word and customer service is totally sorry! This has impacted our lives for 6 weeks and I refuse to let Sears and A&E ruin any more of my life. They suck and I am done with them. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these 2 incompetent entities, find a store that employs their own repairman, because if their repairman is an idiot (like A&E's) they will fire him and get a better one. Both of these companies are not worth your trouble.

Technician rescheduled the fixing of our refrigerator again. I guess he didn't feel confident that he could get it done so he scheduled for someone else to come in the morning. This is like the seventh time they will come to fix same appliance. If we call, the Sears people are in the Philippines and A & E people are in Columbia. We can never get a straight answer. No more Sears products for me. No more warranties with them either.

For the life of me, I do not know why any company would use this place to service their appliances. I have had a problem since July 4th with my stove not working. A&E sent a technician who knew NOTHING about the stove. He was asking me if I thought this would work, or that would work. I kept saying "how do I know, you're the technician". He left without fixing problem. We called Lowe's to tell them we did NOT want that company sending us technicians... so they arranged to have another guy come out from another company. He fixed problem in five minutes. A week later, when I tried to use the self cleaning feature, it did not work. Lowe's said I had to schedule another service call. This time I had no choice but to use A&E. They scheduled an appointment between 8-12. At 11:30 I get a call from A&E saying the technician called in sick. Really? And they just now are telling me?
I called Lowe's, who promised to have it taken care of, and scheduled me yet another appointment. I called A&E to confirm, and was told, there was NO REPAIR scheduled! What!? I spoke to a supervisor and said Lowe's told me I had an appointment. Were they lying... and he said..."well its possible!" Really? Called Lowe's again, they assured me I was scheduled. They put me on a conference call with A&E and I was assured someone would be there. Yeah right. Shame on them and shame on Lowe's for dealing with such a horrible company.

The serviceman diagnosed my problem then charged my credit card and when I asked for a receipt would not send one by email. I contacted Sears, who contracted with A&E for the service call and they refused to send me a receipt or tell me who I could contact. When I called A&E they played games, gave me the runaround and would not send information as to why they charged my credit card twice. If I could give a zero star rating I would.

I have a 3 year old GE profile that is having trouble. I called GE and I am out of their service area so I was told to call A&E. To say the least they are as friendly as a rattlesnake ready to strike. My fridge is not working freezing the meat and over 60 inside the rest. I was told that they could come and fix it in 9 days. "9 days?" I ask. "What I should do with the food inside?" She said "I don't know." I have no choice but to use them or pay for a repair myself which is covered by the 5 year warranty. Heck of a choice. Hey I would never use them if didn't have to.

I signed up with Sears Home Services. They sent a jolly guy out who looked at the dryer and knew what had to be done. He went out, got the part, replaced it and voila the dryer worked. Except, it did not when I tried my first load. What follows is a customer service horror story. I could not get the guy to come back same day to fix because he was already here once. Ridiculous. Next two days Sears nationwide outage on their systems causes zero ability to schedule anything. When I do get someone online, the soonest they can get someone out is 14 days later who may or may not be able to fix it. If a part is required another 14 days of waiting. Meanwhile, I am out of dryer, my $195, and stewing on the phone with Sears who cannot find their own managers. This is the perfect example of how to lose customer. Take a bow A&E and Sears.

I totally agree with previous negative comments! No excuses for such poor services! I have had same experience with A&E here in CA as all customers that shared their experience on this page, late show up (2-3 hours delay), not show up at all without courtesy call, unprofessional techs that unable to perform services, unacceptably rude personnel and their manager, overpriced labor, overpriced parts (better deal was to get it online from Sears for at least 30% off). Most terrible Sears Home Warranty experience ever! Rude and unprofessional technical personnel left me with not fixed fridge even the task was simple, to replace worn out parts with new ordered from Sears for Kenmore Elite fridge.
Fresno's, CA, A&E Manager Ricardo was acting like a king of England or at least as a main owner of Sears that with his "royal" decision ruled out sending a new tech to finished the job, leaving me with broken parts that were supposed to replace worn out parts on my fridge. I tried to explain my reasons for cancellation of my recently purchased home warranty from Sears to Sears customer solutions multiple times, not to mentioning multiple e-mails that I've sent to management regarding my horrible experience with Manager Ricardo and his worthless technicians from A&E Fresno, CA (that managed my area).
NO response, from A&E management or Sears management. The emails that I've sent to A&E and Sears customer solutions to describe my experience with absolutely RUDE fourth (last) technician that also failed to replace and damaged re-ordered (second time) left and right refrigerator door gaskets (that were broken by previous tech) were left with no response. After a month of struggling and requesting a refund at least for labor, I received a refund check... with my name slightly changed!!! SOAP OPERA not service. :(

I am a relative new appliance service technician for A&E Factory Service. I spent Saturday looking up the company I now work for on the internet to see what reviews have been said about A&E Factory Service. Needless to say, I was floored. I could not believe all the complaints. Every company has employees who can give the company a black eye when it comes to company service. A&E is no exception. The customer satisfaction field is one of the hardest to maintain a high standard of excellence but not impossible. An A&E technician must keep up on every make and model of home appliance made as we may have to work on any other them on any given day. That is a lot of pressure to put on the technician. Most appliances within their own categories are made very similar and also have issues specific to themselves.
If a dishwasher has a drain issue, no matter what brand or year made, it probably is one of a couple of things. Same thing with ovens, ranges, refrigerators, washers and dryers. What we come up against is the ever more use of electronics by manufacturers. SO many issues can be attributed to the power control board (PCB) on any appliance. With the use of so many sensors on each appliance, used at different times during the time the appliance is running, it is very difficult to determine what is causing the problem with the appliance. No factory makes or supplies our technicians with computers where we can plug in the various boards or sensors to determine if they are bad or not. We have to rely on our technical knowledge, service and technical manuals, and experience. Yes, sometimes we get it wrong.
An appliance is like a human body. The brain is the body's computer and the various parts of the body/appliance are the sensors and hardware. As we all know, doctors also misdiagnose illnesses all the time. Sensors can give false readings and may not be the cause of the problem with the appliance or the human body. We try to narrow the issue down best we can, and then make a decision on what part to repair or replace. We try to keep the most widely utilized parts on our vans but there is no way to keep every part we may need. We have the option to either find the part locally, go get it, schedule a return trip for that day to install it, or order the part(s) wait for them to be shipped to you. When the part is ordered, our computers generate return dates that we can schedule around your busy schedule. Parts ordered usually take 4-6 days to arrive so the computer generates dates to return 7-10 days out.
I realize this can be very inconvenient since we all need our appliances in our everyday lives. I personally hate to tell a customer that a part has to be ordered when it is a stove, refrigerator or washer. If the part is not available locally and or we just are so booked up we can not leave, go get the part and return, we have no option other than to order it. Most technicians will tell you they would be more than happy to come back in the next day or two if the part was available, but our appointments are set days or weeks in advance which makes its nearly impossible to return so quickly. I tell my customers that when the part arrives at their house, call into their warranty company or A&E Factory Service and try to obtain a sooner return date. Most time it works. The return trip is usually a short visit as we already know what the problem is and we just install the part and are on our way. This is pretty much how the technical side of A&E works.
The one thing almost every complaint I read had to do with scheduling. We are assigned by computer each day, our assigned route. It can be as little a four calls to as many as ten. The number of calls usually depends on what the repair has been reported and the time it usually takes to complete it. It also takes into account the distances between calls. Our calls are routed for us by address so we may work in the most efficient way and plan our day. One thing we do not have control over is the calls that take a lot of time to diagnose, tear completely apart or just flat are very labor intensive. When we have to wait for the customer to remove dishes from the dishwasher, clothes from the washer or dryer, food from the refrigerator, these small things take up time.
Also, having to try to remove the appliance from its location so that we may have access to properly repair it takes a lot of time. These unforeseen issues are what causes a chain reaction of running late on our calls that have been preset. A technician hates more than anything to call a customer and tell them it will be another hour before he/she can arrive when they have already been waiting for hours. We just don't have control sometimes when we run late.
The thing I read that I found appalling is the lack of contact with each customer. Something that we have complete control over is calling our customers ahead of time and try to give a reasonable estimation time of arrival. I am just as guilty of not keeping my customers in the loop. I know as a customer myself, I want the repair technician who is assigned to help me, to arrive when he/she said they would, or call me and keep me informed when they will arrive. I/we at A&E Factory Service are in the customer service field and need to conduct ourselves accordingly.
What is very obvious is if the technicians who fail to keep in contact with their customers, provide the repair service required, and do so in a timely manner, would be out of business if they owned their own company. We as technicians must change for the better. We need to provide the simple things that we ourselves want from people when we need them. I plan to share these hundreds of complaints with supervisors and other technicians in hopes we provide better customer service experiences.

They had to send 2 different techs to solve the problem. Second one thinks he knows what it is and orders a part. Part comes in and I set up appointment. Sat for 4 hours waiting and finally called and they said 10 minutes. 45 minutes later he shows up. I ask why he didnt call and he said he was too busy and overbooked and said because I had a bad attitude (after waiting 4 1/2 hrs) he was leaving. I called customer no service and they set up a new appointment for the next day. Again waited 3 hours and called to see when he was coming and they said the appointment wasnt for 2 more days. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They are rude, slow and have outsourced their customer no service.

I have an extended warranty so there are only two companies in the St. Louis area where I can get service. One was in IL so I chose A&E Factory direct. What a mistake! It took close to a week to get an appointment and after they showed up they did not have the parts. He ordered the parts and asked me when he could come back. I scheduled the appointment for Monday 7/18 as I was out of town on vacation the week prior 7/11 - 7/15. A day or so later I get an email that they have (without consulting with me) rescheduled my appointment to 7/13 while I was out of town. Keep in mind they NEVER consulted with me. I immediately called them and told them I was not available that week and asked for my 7/18 appointment back and they told me it was not available. In other words they changed it without asking me and gave my appointment to someone else. After all of this they wanted to push my appointment into the next week!
At this point I asked for a supervisor and he said they would come on Saturday between 10 and 2. This is the only attempt they made at customer service. However, guess what? After waiting all day on Saturday 2 rolls around and not phone call or technician so I called and they announced he was not coming until 4. Well so much for a promised time window. I had a family engagement that afternoon so I requested that they reschedule the following Monday since once again they failed to honor their commitment. They said that they would come next Wednesday and when I got the email it turns out it was 1 1/2 weeks later the following Wed. I took off work on Wed and called and they told me all of this and would do nothing to accommodate me.
Everything I requested was the answer was "Not gonna happen". I opened up a formal complaint, however I do not expect anything to happen as this is the least customer service oriented company I have ever encountered. At this point it has been ONE MONTH since my dishwasher broke and and I am not confident they will show up this coming Wednesday either. I was so upset this morning over this. I am sure I had high blood pressure. What a horrible experience!!!

I have been dealing with A&E for over 3 months trying to get my dishwasher fixed. The original appointment was supposed to be 4/15. I was given a 5 hour window for them to show up. I was home the entire time and no one ever showed up. I called to find out why no one ever came and the "customer service" rep claimed they had been there and no one was home. I told them that was a lie and they needed to get me a new appointment. New appointment was made for the following Tuesday afternoon. Was "assured" that I would be the last appointment of the day so I wouldn't have to take more time off of work. Technician came without calling and just left a note on my door that they were there at 2 pm. So a third appointment was made. Again was assured I would be the last appointment of the day. This time the technician actually called but again showed up earlier than I was told.
So finally made an appointment for a Saturday through my home warranty company. Technician never showed at all, even though they had a separate appointment for my sister who lives in the lower unit of our duplex. Yet again, another appointment was made for 2 weeks later on a Saturday. Finally a technician is able to just diagnose the problem and of course they need to order parts. Another week goes by and the parts arrive 2 days before my appointment. The technician comes out and tells me the part is bad. I can understand this. Sometimes there's just a bad part. So he orders another one and we make an appointment for the next week. That part arrives and someone shows up to replace and now that part is bad. I was told they would need to order another part. But they can't make an appointment because their system is down. He tells me to call when the part arrives and make an appointment.
Problem is he never ordered the part, so it never comes. 10 days go by, I call my home warranty company to help and we talk to A&E who claims to have now ordered the part. Another week goes by with the part not arriving. So I call A&E to find out where this part is. Their incompetent customer service rep first told me that the part arrived on 6/26 (that's a Sunday) and that it arrived via UPS (all other parts delivered via USPS). I told her that's impossible, UPS doesn't deliver on Sundays. She then directs me to Parts Recovery who then tells me that they have no record of the part ever being ordered again and they can't order the part, only technicians can do that. I spend an hour on the phone with a "supervisor" who did nothing to help other than schedule yet another appointment for a tech to come out. Made sure they had all the proper numbers to call so I could leave work to deal with this again.
Tech is supposed to come the next day and called the wrong phone number so I missed my appointment again. Finally I call and raise hell with "customer service" who hangs up on me the first time I call demanding to speak to a supervisor immediately. When I finally get on the line with someone 20 minutes later, all they can apparently do is reschedule the appointment again for Tuesday 7/5. Again give them all the phone numbers to call that morning. Get 2 confirmation calls over the weekend. Tuesday morning comes, they didn't call yet again and showed up. Luckily I had arranged for someone to be there. And "miraculously" they can suddenly use one of the old parts to fix my dishwasher. Except that it only works for a week and now my dishwasher has stopped working yet again.
Called my home warranty company to tell them at this point they need to replace it because A&E has proven incompetent and unreliable. But they have no record of A&E ever even showing up. So it's going to be at least another week before this is resolved. I have never in my life dealt with such poor customer service and just blatant disrespect of people's time. They have proven time and time again that they couldn't care less about people. They only do the minimum amount to collect a check and to hopefully buy enough time that the warranties run out and it's no longer their problem. It's clear they don't care because they get paid either way through the company providing the warranty.
They go out of their way to give poor experiences. You can't understand anyone you ever talk to and every single person I've dealt with has different information. The last rep I talked to from there has even admitted that he's heard this is a problem with their techs not showing or not calling when they're on their way. There is no consistency and even their managers have no knowledge and do nothing to help.

Worst customer experience I have ever experienced. First technician did not repair the problem. Next technician did not show up within the 4 hour window nor did they call to say they would be late. They ordered a part that never showed up. I notified the company the part didn't come the day before I was told I would receive a call back and never did.
Next morning called again to tell them the part never came and to ask if the technician was bringing the part. They said they would reach out to the technician to tell them to pick up the part before coming. Tech never called to say they were coming or that they were running late. Tech showed up over an hour late without the part. I still have a broken washer machine since January. I have spoke to numerous supervisors - the problem still hasn't been resolved. I recommend not purchasing warranty for your appliances unless you like to waste your money. Don't shop at HHGREGG or using A&E factory Service. This is the worst company that I have ever had come to my house for repairs. I would give them 0 stars if it was offered. I have a Kenmore range that is worse now than it was when they first came out between 4 and 5 weeks ago. The thermostat was out and I told Sears that when I called in for the repair - one week later a repairman showed up without a thermostat and informed me it was my wiring harness something then he hardwired my oven and told me that my fan in the oven was too loud (which it was like everyone else's) then he said, “It is your thermostat.”
One week later the parts came in and they came back and supposedly fixed it - after wires popped a few times - they said it was fixed. I used it three times and it went out again and someone came out and more popping and smoking from them checking it - now I can’t use my burners. If you have a choice - do not use this company. I have made a ton of calls to them and they will not return a phone call. The first repairman was rude. The next two were nice but I don’t think they knew what they were doing - the third one was nice and probably knew what he was doing but my oven is still not working. Two days later when it didn't arrive, I was told it would not be in until the middle of the next week. When I called to book service, I was told an appointment had already been made for another day I would not be home. The company doesn't care about the dissatisfaction of customers and has no regard that its customers have jobs to pay them for their services. I would not recommend this company to anyone and was forced to put in a star for a review.

I have a brand new Samsung refrigerator, my ice maker went out. I called Samsung, they contacted A&E Factory Service (owned by Sears). They set me up with an appointment. The day of the appointment, I get a call when the day is almost over and told they would have to reschedule the appointment for the tech had an accident. Okay I could accept that and rescheduled the appointment for a week from that date. The gentleman showed within the scheduled time and had to order a part, he then set another appointment up for me for the part to be installed. Got the part but now being told no appointment. I have to schedule a new one. This has been going on for a whole month now. What a terrible company.

Contacted Sears because thought they'd be reliable to send out a repair person to fix my washing machine. Boy was I wrong! I did not know they contracted work out and they sent out an A And E Factory Repairman. The water in my washing machine would not stop flowing and it was not filling up the tub completely. The knowledge of this repairman was below 0... He did a lot of guessing, proceeded to take my ENTIRE washing machine apart, forgot to put a part back where it belonged (after I explicitly told him he was forgetting to put it there), and next thing I knew there was water everywhere on my floor. He had to take everything apart to put that part back on and then he further showed his lack of basic knowledge with my machine by saying it needed a NEW part, he said it was the pressure switch.
He ordered it, came back the next day and put the new switch in. Guess what? Still didn't fix the problem. He then ordered an ON/OFF switch and came back AGAIN the next day. By now 3 days have passed and my washing machine still is not functioning correctly. By this point I was fed up and requested a new repairman and so I specifically asked SEARS to send out a Senior Repairman. Another day passes and a new person came out, told him the issue and within 5 minutes it was all done. What took this other guy all week, took this man 5 minutes. All he did was lift the hose to my drain pipe and my machine was fully operational afterwards.
Customer service via the phone services was also poor. I was hung up on several times, could not get through to an operator and would not be notified with a decent amount of time beforehand of a repairman's arrival time. Also I had notified Sears from the beginning that I had a coupon and they said it would be no problem to add on after the transaction was completed. But the repairman acted as though I did not have a coupon, printed out my receipt and said that he was unable to change the total.
The only way to do it at that point would be to deal with the already terrible customer service. Of course I wanted my discount they had ALREADY promised me so I called and each representative I spoke with said it was not easy to do. How hard is it to calculate a percent total after already giving a final amount? I was very dissatisfied and hope that Sears either re-trains ALL of their repair people and customer service representatives or gets an entirely new company to represent their repairs.

My new Samsung refrigerator died while under warranty. I called Samsung and they confirmed it was under warranty and scheduled A&E. I was given a 5 hour window for the technician to show up and he did not show. Another appointment was scheduled and after more than 5 hours the technician shows up. The technician said the call was set up as a collect call since the frig was out of warranty, which it was not. The technician was polite but had been run ragged after a ten hour day and driving across multiple counties. The sole purpose of the call was just to scam me out of money to pay for repairs that I should not have to pay for.

My refrigerator has been down for over a month. They botched the repairs the first time and then botched ordering parts the second time. After speaking with "customer service" agents who can't speak English I spoke with a "supervisor" who refused to expedite the repair, refused to upgrade my complaint and refused to stop interrupting when I was speaking. Thankfully American Home Shield who contracts with them was able to get all of this done. Hopefully they will get the repair right this time. In short A&E Factory Service are horrible people to deal with and I recommend strongly that anyone reading this find someone else.

Our refrigerator went out approx. 6/10/16. We called A&E for service and sent someone out on 6/14. That person ordered parts. Next visit, 6/20, new service guy says the first service guy was incompetent and did not order all the parts so he would have to finish the order and could not fix the fridge and would have to make a new appointment for a service tech to come when the additional parts arrive. The parts arrive and they schedule an appointment for 6/24. That service man came out said that he would not get his tools from his truck because they would get wet.
He stood around for a while and then got on his phone. He was walking out of our house and I asked him what was up, He turned to me and said that he would be back in a minute. He proceeded to walk to his van load it up and then get in look at me and started the van up and drove away without saying another word. Nice customer service. When I have called this company to complain all they say is, "Oh well, we can put you on the schedule and the next one is 6/30 and hope all your parts are there so he can fix it."
I fully expect them to show up and tell me that there is still missing parts needed. I am sure we will spend at least a month without a refrigerator because of the incompetence of this company. They do not care about customer service. I would steer anyone away from using these services or even a purchase from Sears. Sears wonders why they are becoming non-existent in the shopping world. It's really not that hard to see why they are imploding.

Had a repairman here for my fridge. Gave me a repair quote of $580.72 for the job. $256.73 for labor and $324.99 for part. I told him no, paid $80 for the service call, which turns out I paid to be ripped off. I ordered the part myself from Sears Parts Direct for $221.00 and put it in myself. Took me all of 35 minutes. Turns out they charged me 30% more for the same part I bought directly from them. Now as for the labor 35 minutes for me at their rate is actually over $500 per hour. I called and spoke to a supervisor and his resolution to me, "well that's what we charge, you don't have to call us if you don't want to." GREAT IDEA. I will never use A&E Factory Service ever again and me and my wife who we both work for the Pasco County School System will make sure we tell everyone about their billing practice. I consider the $80 I just spent for an estimate as an investment in finding out about another company ripping us off and to avoid.

My water heater was leaking, and it was old so I figured I'd need a replacement. I called Sears to send a technician to come to my house, diagnose the problem and I figured most likely recommend a new water heater. An A&E tech came over and spent no more than 15 minutes at my house. He had no idea what he was doing and had to call someone for assistance. He said that the cold water pipe going into the water heater was leaking (it wasn't), and I should call a plumber.
I decided I didn't want any of his poor advice and was frustrated that he couldn't fix anything or recommend the right water heater. He had the nerve to charge me $150! For nothing! I complained to Sears, where I bought my new water heater, and their hands are tied. They apparently can't deal with A&E about complaints, and I can't find a phone number to call so I can complain. I've sent two email complaints with no response, and spoke with someone outside the US who did nothing. I really want a refund, and was stupid to pay him in the first place. I will be making a complaint to Sears for using this company.

A&E is unreliable, never on time, don't show for appointments, keep changing the due time (only when I called them would I learn of the change) and are extremely difficult to understand when talking on the phone to resolve these lack of service issues.
We are now waiting all day for the 3rd time 2 days from today as they did not make it today. I had requested 4-5 hour window of expected service time, call to confirm. I provided all my contact numbers, called to let the company know that I had to leave but could be reached by cell and could be back in less than 5 minutes after they did not arrive by 3:45 pm. None of these contacts or concerns changed anything that A&E did. They did not call, they did not show up, they did not provide any service requested. The second appointment, the tech arrived at 8 am (or so said the note on the door) and claimed he knocked on the door. I had been up since 7:30 am and have two dogs (who bark at everything). Then the next appointment was scheduled for June 1 between 8 am and 12 noon. They even called several days before and confirmed it. To make a long story short, we have had them out 4 times and now the Tech says it can't be repaired.
I call Warrantech, they contact the service tech and he tells them the same thing. We had to get a supervisor involved. She said they need the part number from the tech of what cannot be repaired. She emailed and said they should have it in a day or so. This was over 1 month ago. I emailed her twice about the status of our claim but got no response. Called Warrantech again, talk to another supervisor and she tells me the same. Called A&E direct to get the part number and get no response back. So Warrantech won't replace my frig , as per the contract, without the part number, and A&E won't give it to them so here I sit with a broken fridge. We purchased our LG washer from Menards almost 3 1/2 years ago. For the last 2 years, we've had multiple problems with it. A&E is the repair co. that the extended warranty co. keeps setting us up with. It does not matter how many times we tell customer service (which is outsourced) that our unit is a stackable & that 2 techs will be needed, they invariably send 1 tech. Another appt. has to be scheduled & then they only come to diagnosis the problem. They then order parts & once the parts get here, schedule another appt. Long story short, don't cha think they would be intelligent enough to look up the product serial #, find a list of possible part/s needed to fix the problem, then come prepared to actually fix it? I know, that makes too much sense, right?
When I scheduled the appt., I told cust. service that I needed an after 2:00 appt. They told me that the tech would arrive between 8-5 & would not guarantee my needed time, so I took a vacation day. The morning of, they told me the tech would be there between 2-4. They never showed up, but did call to say that it was not noted about 2 techs, I would have to reschedule. I got upset with them & they hung up on me. I called back & the cust. service person said it was noted about the techs. I rescheduled for 2 days later, again saying I needed an after 2:00 appt. & that 2 techs were needed.
My husband got a call from the tech the morning of the appt., saying he was at our house but no one was home. This was at 10:00. My husband got upset with them. There were countless calls back & forth with nothing but frustration. Finally I called Menards & talked to the store manager, letting him know what was going on. He was very helpful & asked me to let him know if A&E failed to show for the next appt. I had to call him & at that time said I was ready to call someone myself & send him the bill. At that time he gave me the name of a repair service here. A&E has not shown up nor called.
Needless to say, they will never be allowed into our home again. The next time we purchase an appliance, we will have to be guaranteed a local repair co. before we agree to an extended warranty. It is my firm belief that when you have a customer based business & you outsource your customer service, what you are really telling your customers is that profit is more important than pleasing the customer. I DO NOT want to talk to someone from another company. I bought my product in the U.S. & I want to discuss issues with an AMERICAN. Giving this company 1 star is really too much. They deserve -0's stars.

The week went by and the repairman came out and informed me that several parts needed to be ordered to fix the machine. I did that and then another repairman came out and said one part was missing from the order and that after some research it was back ordered and would be an unspecified amount of time to get that part and they may not manufacture that part anymore and may need to just pay out for the machine.
I stated we waited this long (2 months we'll wait to see if part comes in). The part arrived approximately 3 weeks and two technicians were scheduled to repair the machine today and they were at my home for over three hours and said they ran a diagnostic on the machine and that it was good to go!! I was told by one person that I have to have three appointments within 90 days where a part was replaced. That if I did that and it was still broken they would replace it. The problem is that is 1) At times you can't get timely appointments. 2) Twice technicians could not find something that should be fixed so these appointments do not count towards the total. 3) The "STACK"? office sometimes does not approve the replacement of a part so that they can put you off indefinitely. 4) I got close to completing this herculean task and they told me that the technician didn't properly "close out the appointment" so they needed to send him again days later which put me over the time allotment for replacement. I am considering reporting them to the federal trade commission for consumer fraud because I can't be the only one this has happened to.

I had taken off work to meet him and missed the entire day. Today was the scheduled repair, they called and said it would be at 10am... And between 8 am and 12 with 10 am being the target time. A&E Factory Service is the worse repair service that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My washer (4 month old Samsung top load washer) went out on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. The pump is defective I believe. The next day, I called where I purchased the washer from, Home Depot, and was told my 3 month warranty had expired (typical, right?). I called Samsung who got me in touch with A&E. A&E called and said a repair tech would be here on Monday, March 21, 2016.
So, on Monday, A&E calls and leaves a message saying the tech overbooked himself and to contact them to reschedule. I had just stepped outside to look at some plants for about 5 minutes and called them back. A&E informed me it would be perhaps Thursday, March 24, 2016 before they could get to me. I informed them I had wet clothes that were stinking because the washer croaked mid-cycle. I have 6 people living in my home, 3 in school, and I needed it done before Thursday. After all, it wasn't my fault the company overbooked the man. I asked to speak to the supervisor and she told me that they didn't have one. No wonder for all the bad reviews I read about this company. We had some words in which the customer service person suggested I get some quarters and go wash my families clothes. She told me she would call back to confirm the appt. on Thursday.
I called Samsung again and they were of no help to me. The lady from A&E called back and had the audacity to say it would be Monday, March 28, 2016 when the repairman would get to me. I will never buy another thing from any company that uses this company as their repair service. They are unprofessional and could cares less about problems of consumers. Samsung and A&E can take my defective washer and sell it to the next sucker. I'm buying Speed Queen, that is unless they use A&E for their service center.

Frigidaire refrigerator bought from Lowe's with extended warranty covered by A&E. The A&E repairman says we have sulfur in our water. Therefore sulfur that is in the moisture from the air (no water is connected to refrigerator) caused a pinhole leak in refrigerant line. Therefore that is not a manufacture's problem and is not covered by warranty. What a load of BS, but of course he would fix it for about $400. Told him forget it and didn't believe him.
Got a local repairman who found that it leaked due to a bad braze on a filter fitting on the refrigerant line. Installed new filter and replaced refrigerant and it works fine. Frigidaire is also at fault for poorly built refrigerator as well as warrantying their products through this crooked repair company. And then doing nothing when you call and complain about the crooked company. Their excuse is that they have to go by what the A&E repairman says. No matter how ridiculous!!

On March 9, 2016, my elderly sister had service to repair a burner on her gas range that was not igniting. The technician from A&E Factory Service walked in and immediately diagnosed that a tiny port leading from the igniter to the burner was clogged. The technician stuck a tiny tool in the port and immediately cleared the clog. The burner worked and the whole process took approximately 3 MINUTES! He then went to his truck and came back with a bill for $205.77. The charge was $189 for the service and $16.77 tax. She questioned the amount but was told that's what a service charge costs. When she told me what she had paid, I called the Customer Service number and asked what the charge was to repair a burner on my stove that was not igniting. I was told that the charge was $109 plus tax. I then said that I wanted to discuss an overcharge and was told I had to call another number.
I called the second number and was told that to dispute a charge I had to call another number. I then called this third number and explained what had happened and said that this had to obviously be a mistake and requested that the charge be adjusted. I explained what had happened and that I had called to confirm what a charge would be for a clogged burner and was told $109. The woman then stated that the $109 was just to diagnose the problem and did not include the additional charge to fix the problem. I was told by the person that the rates are established by Corporate and no adjustment could be made. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she was a supervisor and there was no one else who could help me. I then asked where I was calling and she said she was in the country of Colombia.
I requested to speak to someone in Corporate Headquarters and was told "no one there will pick up." I asked how I could speak to someone in Corporate Headquarters and was told no one there would speak to me and that she could give me the address in San Antonio, TX and I could write a letter. This company is a disgrace and I hope that anyone who reads this will know never to use their services and to tell everyone they know as well.

We have a KitchenAid dishwasher purchased from Sears with a Sears service contract for this machine. Sears contracts their repair work out to A&E. It seems that depending on how the technician feels that day determines if the machine will be repaired. On several occasions they will come in and not even address the problem that you are having with the machine. I don't know if it's because we have a service contract and they think they can get several calls out of one repair or not, but that's the way it seems. They will come in and tell you that you need to do this or that and walk out. Only problem is what they tell you to do doesn't fix the problem and most of the time directly contradicts what the previous technician has told you to do.
Yesterday we had a technician that told me I was going to have to remount and level the machine in the cabinet. Now this is after 101 A&E technicians has looked at the machine and not a one of them has said anything like that. Also, our service contract covers any repair so I shouldn't have to do anything to make the machine operable. Also, I didn't install the machine Sears did. When I told him that I wanted him to speak to a Sears agent he said he didn't have to talk to anybody and he hurried out the door. Basically you don't know what you are going to get when A&E comes to the door. Yes, we have had some technicians that do their job, but they are few and far between. Most of the technicians that show up at the door seem to be more interested in talking on the phone and seeing how fast they can get out the door.

This company apparently doesn't want to talk to customers over the phone other than to make an appointment which carries a minimum charge of $60. I have a house in a gated community in Florida and immediately put A&E Factory Service on our "Guest List" so that the technician would be able to get through security for the upcoming visit. My first beef was that A&E expected me to wait for the technician who would arrive sometime between 8 and 5. No window, just all day - wait. I did.
At noon the technician called. He was at least and hour and a half away. He tried to tell me that my problem was a normal function of the machine. (Really? When did not being able to fill the soap dispenser with liquid soap become "normal?") He then asked if I really wanted him to come or did I want to save the money and not have him come. What? It's pretty clear that this guy doesn't want to make the trip. Hours later I got a 2nd call from the technician saying that he could not get through the security gate. What? Nobody from Security ever called me to question it which is what they always do. I told him that he was on the guest list, to go through again and to make sure they call me if in question.
I also immediately called Security and he was indeed on the list. The technician called a 3rd time and told me that they would only give him a guest pass and that if he was caught working, he'd be fined $100.00 so he'd have to cancel. What??? Still no phone call to me from Security. I told the technician that I had been waiting for hours and for him to go back through the gate. He told me that he'd have to call his Supervisor and call me back. A 4th call from the technician - he has to cancel and that we could reschedule. What??!!
I had waited for 6 hours for this guy to come. It was obvious from the very first phone call that he did not want to come to our house for whatever reason. So done. Do these people think that the consumer's time is worth nothing? I blew a fuse and cancelled everything. Unbelievable poor customer service. Washer not fixed. It's PODS for me from now on! I spoke to the company and they refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor stating when they have time they will call me. They are ridiculous. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

If anyone offers you the opportunity to PURCHASE an extended warranty on an appliance, RUN FOR THE HILLS... In my opinion, they are a complete scam... Probably the salesperson gets commission on how many he sells. I purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer from a local appliance store. Buy local, everybody says. They are all alike... and appliances these days are made like JUNK. I've had the machine 4 yrs, and it is making a horrible grinding sound when it finally gets to the wash cycle. I pull out my NSI Protection Plus warranty... They disconnected me 5 times, but they are supposed to be available 24 hrs. Problem # 1. Then, the girl says she has to HEAR the sound before they can start a claim... "You are joking, right?" THEN she says... "Ok, my boss says I can file the claim... BUT... if they come out and that's not it, you have to pay the service call of like 150-175$." "You are still joking, right?" NO.
THEN I say I want to know who the LOCAL company is, in MY state who is going to come, as this warranty place is in a whole other state... No no no, can't do that. When I threatened with the BBB, I got the name A&E Factory... She says they will tell you. So I call this A&E... guess what... I get the Philippines. By now, I am furious, as this A&E won't and can't tell me diddly about who in the heck will come to fix my washer. When I went back to the appliance store where I purchased the washer, they said the company changed hands, and well... too bad. NEVER... ever EVER buy an extended warranty is the lesson we have learned through all of this. You are better off just having someone local and reputable come out and fix it. Shame on NSI and shame on A&E. Vote for Trump and bring companies back to the USA!

This company does not listen. It has been the worst service call experience ever. Now after reviewing the Consumer Affairs, I can clearly see why they have a poor grade. I should have done the reviews prior to selecting them. Please anyone reading do not go through the upset that is bound to happen. Here is the concern I have. The technician they sent to service my Electrolux washer was either incompetent on the knowledge of the machine or simply not happy with his job. After standing at the machine, complaining about how heavy it is, and literally guessing at the diagnoses, (and ringing up a bill for what he thought it was) his final and exact words were "I think you should just throw it off a cliff".
Great advice after 137.00 service call. The new invoice he wrote up and requested a credit card for turned out NOT to be the problem at all. After letting him go and requesting that A-E send a more competent technician and to NEVER send the original technician to the house, they eventually failed to listen. Although they did send a more competent tech (the second time) whom diagnoses the problem he needed to order the part. (The technical diagnosis was way different and less cost than the first tech's guess work). He informed me I must pull out the 400 lb machine. I later called A-E to reassure myself that a note about the previous technician was filed and that I did not want him back. However I do want the second tech.
They assured me all was done. Upon the date of the 3rd call whereas the part was to be install the incompetent tech was assigned. After calling Sears/A-E to note that I requested not to have him, it took an hour on the phone to simply have them re-route a new technician. As of yet they cannot explain how they can allow incompetent technicians in the field nor can they explain why they sent out the tech I specially requested (twice) not to come to the house. Please if you are not interested in frustration and/or incompetence, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This company is a joke. Waited 10 days for a tech to come out, that's fine. When the tech arrived he checked the serial number and model number of our stove. Then ran a diagnostics check which gave him the same codes that the stove gave me. Told me he would have to order the parts to fix it and would be another 9 days. Why did I talk to your service department for 30 minutes explaining what codes were flashing just for you to come do everything I already had done. Part should have been on the truck. These machines diagnose themselves. Strongly urge you not to use, and if you're under warranty, ask for a different company. We have a different company coming to tomorrow that has side parts. Apparently they believe I'm smart enough to read 2 numbers off keypad that keep blinking.

I started having issues with my LG washer in Dec. I called and they sent someone out to fix it. They had to order parts and reschedule. 2 weeks later they came out to install parts and washer still isn't working. I called to reschedule and when they came out but didn't knock. I called to see why he hadn't showed up and they made me reschedule. They came back out the next week but since it wasn't built under the warranty they had to reschedule again for the following day. The guy replaced the control board and left. I go to do laundry and it doesn't work again!! I call right back in and A&E says I have to reschedule again. Plus the customer service people are mean and won't help. I ended up calling warranty company again. So I now have yet another appointment. Two months with no washer is horrible. I wouldn't wish this stress of getting my washer repaired on anyone!!

I did not cancel the appt. and told them the rescheduled date was not satisfactory. I don't know any other company that would take 30 days for a repair. After speaking with several people at A&E, being transferred and disconnected, I finally gave up and we bought a new dishwasher. Once he left I noticed that the receipt stated "customer refused diagnostic or repair." Which I didn't, I was beyond irritated!! I called the customer service # and asked for a supervisor. The dryer in the house I rent out stopped getting hot and a seal was lose around the door. I called Best Buy to have someone come check it out as it was only a few months old and I bought it through them. They contacted A&E who is sub contracted to Samsung (the brand of dryer). This was December 21st and they told me someone would be out December 24th so I was impressed. I went to the house to wait and no one came and later got a call that the technician called in and no one could come out. I advised that I was departing to Arizona on the 26th but he said they could have someone come out first thing in the morning on the 26th before I left. Before the call ended, he had to cancel and said he was not able to make the appointment because there were no technicians available that day, so I scheduled it for first thing in the morning on Monday the 28th and advised my tenants.
I got a voice mail that morning confirming my appointment for the next day, not Monday. I called back and they insisted I got the date wrong. After advising that no one would be home they rescheduled again for the following Monday. They finally made that appointment but did not have all the parts needed so had to reschedule again for the following week. I again got a call that they had to cancel because they had no technicians and it would be yet another week. I called Best Buy and they got a Supervisor on the phone with us who said they would order the part which they said was delivered and we never got and would install it on Jan 20th.
On the 20th I got a call from the technician that they ordered the part that day the 20th and would be out in yet another week to install it. I was irate and left a not too nice message about the horrible service they provide. At around 10 today I get a call from A&E telling me they have no technician and would have to re-schedule again for Friday afternoon, I said my tenants have been waiting for the technician to come and they work on Friday afternoon and I asked for the name of their CEO, the technician hung up on me. 1 minute later I get a call from the technician who says he is 8 minutes away from the house. I told him I just got a call saying he wasn't coming, he didn't know anything about that. This business needs to be banned from doing business, I don't know how they are even still around.

14 months ago I purchased a dishwasher from HHGregg, purchased this warranty service that I now have discovered is through Sears. What a joke and complete waste of time and money. Last year the dishwasher broke and Samsung repaired because it was within the first year but has 4 visits from A&E before it actually worked and took almost 2 months. They provide only an 8-5 window, which for those of us that work to pay for these appliances cannot afford to lose a full day each time they come. They only come on Thursday's to my area and no other day.
Three weeks ago the dishwasher broke again, this time ordered part (1 visit), installed part (2 visit), that night dishwasher was not working again, only ran for one cycle. Scheduled another and at 2 pm got a call that they could not make it, that the tech could not finish his calls that day. In addition, they could come back on Thursday two days later or the next apt. was 2 weeks from then.
So once again, owned a dishwasher for 14 total months and going on almost 4 months that the machine has not worked and a total of 8 days lost from work but this warranty is supposed to protect us from what, losing our jobs, spending countless hours waiting for a tech to visit that may or may not appear and then may or may not correct your issue. Don't waste your money on the warranty and if you do ensure, A&E is not the company that services your area as they are a complete joke. I complained and was told there is no one at A&E that I could talk to outside of the schedule center and that they could not make outgoing calls to even work with me to arrange for shorter timeframes the night prior.

I have a SAMSUNG dishwasher brand new that broke in November. I was told that the warranty was handled by a company named A&E FACTORY SERVICES. We contacted them in November and an appointment was scheduled for December 24. The technician who showed up checked the appliance for 5 minutes and decided that it is the pump that needs to be replaced. He promised to return the next week with the pump. The following week we could not get the technician.
The first week of January, we contacted the company and we spoke with a supervisor named DAVID. He scheduled an appointment for us, however, the technician never showed up. We called again and were told the technician has cancelled the appointment since he needed a helper for this job but that they will both come in a week. The week passed, and the technician showed up by himself. When I inquired why he is by himself, he said he can do the job alone. After ten minutes, he called me and said that he needs a helper and needs to re-schedule.
I called the company and spoke with the supervisor SARAH and she scheduled an appointment for a technician and helper for January 21st. Today, January 21st I texted the technician and he said he would be in by 4pm. When he never showed up and I called the company, the representative said that the appointment has been canceled since the technician needed a helper and will have to be rescheduled for January 28th!

On December 18 A&E came out to either repair or replace my ice maker. My only complaint to Lowe's advantage services was that my ice maker quit working. The tech had another ice maker in his truck but when trying to replace it did not fit. Then he says "maybe it's the main computer board". He said he was ordering a new board and that it would come to my house, of which it did the next week. He then came out on January 8, 2016 and replaced the board. He simply pulled my ref out, replaced the board and pushed it back into the space and headed for my front door. I asked him if he should wait to make sure the board worked and he said "Oh it's all computerized, it's good. You should hear the ice fall in a couple of hours." And out the door he went.
He was on his way to Reno. This was at 6:00 p.m. The next morning my husband and I had slept in and arose at about 9:30 and by the time we got into the ref it was about 10:10 a.m. My ref was 66 degrees inside! Nothing was working! I lost all my food in the ref and all my food in the freezer. We had just gone shopping at Costco three days before. Before he replaced the board there was absolutely nothing wrong with the ref. The ice maker simply stopped working. A&E refused to immediately come back out and see what the problem was and it's now been two weeks.
My husband and I have been living out of ice chests. There are no rentals in our town. They are to return on January 23rd and as of date (Jan 19th) I have not received a new board OR a new ice maker. So, I wonder just exactly what they are going to do on the 23rd. If they say they have to order new parts and it takes another 2 or 3 weeks to come out with those parts, I feel that I will have to take other measures. We lost over $565.00 in food not to mention that we have to eat all of our meals out. I called A&E and spoke with a supervisor and he didn't care. They did not try to accommodate us whatsoever! I told them that I wanted a new repair company since A&E did not call to state that the repairman was sick, and that I thought this was another lie about when a repairman would show up. Wow. Where to start. I am horrified with the service. I paid a LOT for an extended warranty from Sears. They made me feel like this would be my best option if I had problems. So I figured with little kids and a washing machine, it's probably a good idea to know I can call people down to help if I run into any issues. You do not want to be without a washing machine with little kids. Ever.
So my Samsung washer had all the bells and whistles. I know. I paid well for them. It was a big huge dome which would help cut down my loads of laundry. They told me it would be great for a family. The missing agitator worried me, but this is the new age. We welcome stuff whether we know how it works or not. The laundry was never perfectly clean, but I kept changing cycles and playing around with them to see maybe I wasn't sure how to use it yet. I have about 8 different detergents on my shelf, which I kept switching, to see if that made a difference, but no. The clothing that got peed on came out smelling like pee. I washed through several cycles of different names and still pee. Shirt collars were dirty, underwear had stains, and worst of all, items came out with dry spots all over even after thorough washes.
I called the service down and I was impressed. First time and he ran a cycle, asked every question to someone on the phone - which was weird, but said he can change the water level sensor and motherboard. He ordered both parts and came to put them in. He changed the sensor and told me that the last machine he put a refurbished Samsung motherboard in, fried. So he did not think I should do it. Who will say yes after that. So he changed the sensor and was really decent and left.
Soon after, I put a pile of material in the machine to prewash before sewing. I did a full wash cycle and filled less than half of the machine. When I took them out there were huge spots on them that were dry. So back to Sears tech and I make another appointment. The original appointment was made for 10-2. After some issues they asked for me to switch it to evening. I was home those hours and so I agreed. However I was annoyed that I stayed home that morning for nothing. 3-6 was the time slot and by 7, no one showed up. I was near the front door the whole time. I saw an alert that it says the tech had showed up at 6:25 or so and so I called the company. They said the tech came by and no one was home and he left a note. Obviously there was no note, because we were home. But not only did he lie and not show up, he never called the 20 minutes before to say he is on the way. Liars.
So I called to schedule another appointment and said I want someone else. Another man showed up, ran the machine and said it looked good. He called someone on the phone the whole time asking questions and said there was nothing to do. It ran fine. He said I should not expect it to work as good as the older machines. I said "I don't care. I want a washing machine to wash laundry. That is what I bought it for."
So I called to get a different opinion. Appointment was for 10-2. I stayed home and waited. No one came. They showed at 3:05 and I had to leave. It was the same guy that came before - even though I requested a different one. I said I was sorry but I wasn't able to stay - they left. I called the tech manager - who was not very friendly to put it nicely, and she told me not to make an appointment if I could not be around for it. I said I could. I was around 10-2 and even gave an hour leeway in case they got held up. She said that isn't good enough. I gave up my whole morning and it was not good enough? I need to stay around until evening because they can be at other jobs that are taking too long???
Next appointment the tech refused to come. They forced him. He said he came already. He told me it's fine and did not even care that the clothing was dry. He said it just spins very well that is why it is. And the manager told me if I cancel one more time she wont send out anyone again. I had canceled that once, when they showed up an hour+ late. Stay away. Very far.

Unfortunately, I have had to deal with them a lot since buying our refrigerator because of the many issues. The technician came today and refused to repair a part because it had not broken since the last time someone was there. Last time they came there were 2 issues, they fixed the first problem and hooked the hose back up but told me that I could get a new hose since he could not guarantee that it wouldn't mess up again. So that is what I did since he did not have the part with him that time. I have had it scheduled when I knew someone would be home.
Now he refused to fix it and I am left with having to schedule another appointment which means missing work and a total inconvenience. He is not allowed to come to my house but the bad part is they only make it out to my area once a week and sometimes it takes weeks for them to come. I am so unhappy with this company and the employee should not have left without fixing the problem.

Just want to share that if you are purchasing any major appliance this year I strongly suggest you DO NOT purchase it from Lowe's Home Improvement store. Unfortunately the issue is not directly with Lowe's, but with the A&E Factory Service that they contract with. A&E Factory Service is unreliable and provides poor customer service. The technician was scheduled to be here between 1-5 p.m. By 5 p.m. no sign of anyone. I called and was told, "No, you are still on the route. He must be running late." By 6:15 p.m. when I called again I was told, "No he won't be there tonight. He moved you to the 30th." They schedule appointments, do not show up, and then tell you that you need to reschedule when it is convenient for them... not me!!! So please pass this around if you want. They don't deserve people's business, when they do not seem to care about their customers first!!!

WARNING WARNING. Before using A&E repair service from your Sears/Kenmore products, spend some time read 1000s of 1 STAR reviews on multiple websites. These people need to be arrested for their continuous thieving service. My review is nearly identical to 100s of other reviews for Kenmore appliances since the gang of Kmart bought Sears for $11 billion back in early 2000's. I've had a Sears Kenmore 40 gal. Power Miser 12 gas hot water heater for 8 years with 4 years left on "parts warranty". Pilot light would not stay on and 3 different men have stopped by in the course of 4 weeks. We still have no hot water.
Repair guys carry NO PARTS in their vans, they do NOT talk to one another about your problem. Neither they or the call center overseas take notes on your issues, so each new repair guy who comes struggles to learn what the last guy did (he if is nice). Parts warehouse sends out wrong or incomplete parts, then the repair man says he'll have to return next week and you get placed to the back of the line.
BOTTOM LINE: This is in essence a fleecing, Ponzi type thieving scheme. The corporate honchos have a history of scamming consumers for decades. Read the Wikipedia report on SS Kresge, Kmart & Sears buy out. This chain has been a train wreck for decades and have now destroyed the great Sears name. I warn ALL AMERICANS to never buy any appliance from Sears or Kmart and NEVER use A&E repairs which is a cover name for the Sears repair company. It's all about cleaning out your wallets for "labor charges" and stretching it out as long as they can to get as much as they can.
I went to Lowe's & bought a Whirlpool Hot Water heater yesterday, it was installed today by a local based union plumbing shop whom I can call directly with future issues and they are located in my town and they speak fluent English. Even though I had 4 years left on Kenmore Heater & decided to cut my losses so I can at least take a bath before Xmas and wash some clothes. Good luck fellow Kenmore appliance owners.

This is by far the worst experience with appliance service that I have ever had. The only reason I called them for service is because I found a business card attached to an invoice for previous repairs (Lowe's sent them out because the unit was under warranty the first time). Now that the dryer was out of warranty, I wish I had called a local repair shop! First red flag should have been that calls are routed through a call center and it must be overseas because the operators speak very little English. The tech came out and gave me an estimate but stated, if I wanted it fixed, he would have to order the parts. He charged me $79 for the visit and told me that charge would go toward the total of the repair bill when he comes back out.
Later that day I called the 800 number to ask a couple of questions regarding the repairs and they told me there is no way to speak to the tech. I would have to make another appointment and be charged another $79 for the visit. When I questioned them about that, they said that is just the way it is. I asked about ordering the parts and they told me that the original service order was already closed and I would have to make another appointment and pay the $79 again for him to come out and order the parts.
When the tech came out again, he magically had the parts on his truck! He did the repair but charged me almost $50 more than the original estimate. When I questioned him about the price, he said the first guy must not have figured the parts/labor correctly. To make a long story short, this company is a scam. All they want to do is charge you for service calls you don't need. There is ABSOLUTELY no way to talk to a live technician once they leave your house. And clearly they have no set rates on parts/labor etc. My advice - STAY AWAY FROM A&E Factory Service and call a local mom and pop shop in your area!!!

We purchased a Samsung washer machine from Lowe's last year. Our first appointment with A&E: We asked that the tech show up after 3:00 because my husband and I both work. The tech showed up at 10:30 and left a note for us that we had to reschedule. Our second appointment: Tech arrives and says that he didn't have the available parts to fix our problem. He said he ordered us a compressor and 4 shocks. The compressor and 1 shock arrived a few days later.
Our third appointment: Same tech arrives and installs the compressor and 1 shock because the other three still didn't arrive. He blamed the parts department and the parts department blamed him for not ordering all the parts. Washer machine still broken. The tech told my husband and I that he was not trained by A&E to fix this washer machine. He told us if we tried to use our machine to just do a light load. After he left we noticed condensation in the keypad area that wasn't there before. We called A&E after he left and they told us they would overnight the parts of the shocks and when we got them to call for an appointment. We call a few days later because the parts didn't arrive. The customer rep tells us that no parts were ever ordered! You can't make this up! So this guy orders the parts.
Our 4th appointment: we confirm the day before that the tech would arrive after 3. We call at 3:30 and we are told the tech was running late and that he would be to us by 5:30. No show at 5:30. Then I call and they said the latest he would be at my house was 7. 7:15... No show. Call again. They say he was on his way and would be to us by 8. They tell me that they will have the tech call me. He didn't call or show at 8. Call AGAIN. They said that the tech cancelled our appointment. They gave us no reason for the cancellation. The tech hung up on my husband when we started to vent our frustration.
I have spoken to the supervisor at A&E and he said that he couldn't help me. He tells me to call Lowe's and schedule another appointment with A&E. Apparently A&E can't schedule their own appointments either. When we called Lowe's and spoke to a supervisor he told us that in order to qualify for a buyback, that A&E had to service our washer for three consecutive appointments within thirty days of each other. This didn't include cancellations. It also doesn't factor in the incompetency of those people ordering parts. They have it all figured out. I've been without a washer for 6 weeks! I'm supposed to wait another 12 weeks before I can even qualify for a new washer?! This is such a scam. Never buy appliances from Lowe's. Buy from your local appliance shops. I really wish there was a negative number rating system. I had a service call for the day before Thanksgiving. That morning of the repair they called to say the repairman called in sick. I said that was unacceptable seeing as I had already waited a week for the repairman and tomorrow was THANKSGIVING. I had to make another appointment for the following week. I was told it would be between 8AM and noon. At 11:30 they called and said that it would now be between 12-2.
Unbelievable. They NEVER showed up. The WORST company ever. When they called today to try to reschedule again I just laughed and told them to never ever call me again. That I would never ever use their company again. "So you would like to cancel your appointment?" I laughed. "Yes." "Your appointment has now been canceled." I said, "Fantastic" and hung up. Ridiculous.

Now after 5 months they will not refund my money. I closed my Sears account that I opened in 1961. I will never buy anything from Sears again. Discover tried to help me, they gave up and recharged my account. I will go to see a lawyer on 12/09/15 at 2:00 pm. I am asking for my refund and 500,000. I will see what the courts say. Our ice maker was producing ice but not dispensing it. My husband called Samsung and was referred to A and E. Bad mistake to not check reviews! First tech arrived on time, found the problem, ordered a part, charged us $132, not a legit amount. For service call, did not leave a receipt, said he scheduled us a return appointment on his next available time (10 days away). Next appointment time arrives, open the door, over time-frame window, and it is NOT the original tech who seemed to know what he was doing. Tech did not know what he was doing, was here 45 min at which time we asked him to leave. Put back parts. Although we still had functioning water dispenser after first tech, he left it not operable. Made an appointment for us for the next day. Admitted he could not do the repair.
Next day I started calling when there was one hour left in time window for arrival... person I could not understand said tech was called and he would call us about arrival time. Another 45 min... called, again would call... OH but... we need to schedule yet another appointment because the second tech had been scheduled for our repair!!! The one who said he could not do the repair!!
This is the worst repair situation we have ever experienced!! I called and asked for a supervisor... could not understand him either but bottom line was that he could not give us a refund (as I asked for) because it was a service fee (which should have been $129). Plus we still owed them $30 for the part that did arrive a couple of days after the first tech ordered it. I said we were through with A and E. We have called another repair company.

I've purchased all my appliances from Sears with extended warranties. I have now had to deal with this company a total of 4 times. They have yet to leave without making things worse. I never knew it could be possible to have so many incompetent people working at the same company. In this most recent case, they have made two trips and charged Sears $700 to repair a $500 microwave that needs a $25 part and an hour of time. And it's still not fixed. They are also screwing Sears beyond making stupid mistakes and excessive trips. They are charging for parts that never get used. This company is completely incompetent and dishonest.

Am sad to say that I can no longer recommend Sears as a place to purchase appliances. While, I have found that the floor sales staff is friendly and helpful at the Huntsville, AL store, once the after the sale support begins, this is where things go bad. I purchased a Kenmore Elite Dishwasher and an extended warranty, which I have always kept up to date. One of the things that really sold me on the warranty was that it included a free hardware check every year to make sure everything was staying in good working order. Over the years, our repair guy from Sears disappeared and went to A&E Factory Repair. Here is an example of our recent experience.
My wife calls Sears Repair on 11/10. Issue was that after dishwasher cycle, the bottom of dishwasher is covered with suds. My wife ran a few empty loads and suds remain in bottom of dishwasher. Knowing that we have had multiple Jet Dri containers replaced due to leaks, my wife thinks this is the problem. A&E schedules service on 11/18 at 10:00-2:00 PM window. My wife calls off from work, and A&E cancels appointment at 9:30 am. Reschedule date to 10:00-2:00 PM on 11/25. A&E shows up. They tell my wife that it is not the jet dri dispenser, tell her she is using too much detergent. Keep in mind, we use full loads and pre-measured capsules. They then order a jet dri dispenser, vent motor, and gasket. They rescheduled on 12/10.
Can anyone tell me that waiting a month for a repair is good customer service. What is really upsetting, is that you call A&E and they don't care. A&E performs warranty service for Best Buy as well. We also have a broken down washer and are simultaneously dealing with rude, and incompetent service techs. I have read many complaints on A&E. Beings that they are part of Sears, I don't expect anything to change. It saddens me to think that a company that we have generationally supported is willing to let its reputation slide by using poor repair services. If you don't believe me just google A&E corporate reviews. Many complaints and a 1 out of 5 star rating. I would love to speak with someone from Sears who cares, but I doubt any resolution will take place.

We called because our washer was leaking water and our dryer kept saying that we need to replace the filter but it looked clean to us. The first appointment they said they knocked on the door and no one was home. We were home all day waiting for them so that was a lie. When he finally did get here a few days later he couldn't fix either problem but spent about an hour working on it. $160 later and after he left I go to wash a load and my washer is making a hissing noise through the entire cycle and not washing the clothes. We did not have this problem before he touched it we only had a water leak from the bottom.
Even still, mistakes happen and we were only hoping he could come by and fix whatever he did. He said he would come later that day and never did. We called and they said they have a full schedule and they aren't sure when they will get someone back out here. Worst money ever spent. My washer still isn't working right. We requested service on our 19-year old Maytag Electric Dryer on October 8, 2015. We requested that the driver give us a call 30 minutes out so we could meet him there (they gave us a window from 8am-5pm that a repairman would be there). We had our neighbor also keep an eye out just in case they came by and didn't call. The repairman arrived without calling and left a door tag - the neighbor called us and we called them back to see if they could return and again give us a heads up 30 minutes out so we could meet them. They then came back, around 3:30pm, without a phone call, and our son, under the age of 16, let him into our home to look at the dryer. The repairman looked at the machine, asked my son for the credit card that was left for the service call and he ordered $200 worth of parts without authorization.
We called that evening to cancel the parts - because we went out that day and bought a brand new Maytag for $400 from Lowe's and requested a credit for the unauthorized ordered parts. They stated that we would need to receive the parts from UPS and then return them before we could receive a credit. It is now November 20th and have NEVER received our credit or a phone call back from any agent.
I continue to call the 3 phone numbers - 1) Service Call Receipt: 800.905.9505 (they had no problem charging my card) 2) Sears phone number who contracts A&E Factory Service for repairs and 3) the Credit Department *Third Party Contractor* who can only receive e-mails from A&E Factory Services to communicate. I have called 4 times this week (twice this am) and they have now scheduled a call back for Tuesday morning to see if they can figure out why they cannot credit my bank account/debit card. This company is a COMPLETE SCAM and I can't for the life of me figure out why it is legal for them to charge my card with unauthorized parts, receive the ordered parts returned within 3 days of delivery to our home, by shipped by traceable carrier, UPS, and still not receive a credit to our account. I will be reaching out to our bank, an attorney and/or the police authorities.

Today is 11/14/2015. My name is Mark **, I am filing a complaint on behalf of my 82 year old widowed mother, Virginia **. In 2010 my mother purchased a refrigerator from Sears, thinking they were a reputable company and we could trust them. [WRONG] The refrigerator purchased was a Whirlpool for $1500.00. As she is on a fixed income, this was extremely expensive. She immediately began having problems. During the warranty period, Sears fixed the following issues 1. Ice Maker 2. Component on the door had to be replaced. After warranty period, the 3rd problem started. The refrigerator was freezing all of her food. Even though the temperature showed 40 degrees on the digital display, we registered it at 10 degrees with a store bought refrigerator thermometer. We called Sears for an appointment and they transferred us to A&E Factory Service. Sears told us that it would cost $120.
However, when the repairman came out on he said he fixed the problem and asked for the check to be written for $145. The next morning, everything in the refrigerator was frozen [again]. We set up the 2nd appointment and were told that there would be no charge, during a 90 window following the first repair. The next available was on 10/31. Due to my mothers health, we requested that she be first on the schedule for the appointment. We waited from 8-3:30 and then called back. We were then told the repairman would be there between 4-5. By that time, my mother was stressed out and not feeling well. We asked to reschedule and the next available appointment was not until 11/13. Meanwhile, all of her food was again ruined. Again, we asked to be first on the list (this due to the fact that my mothers health is not good).
I called at 8:05 and they told me that A&E would be there between 1:30-3:30. We waited - and again he did not show up. I called at again at 2:50 and was told he would be there between 4-5. By that time, my mother was stressed out was not feeling well and she needed to go to bed. Note: My mother is afraid to be in the house alone with a repairman, so anytime we have to schedule something, I need to be there which ties up my time as well. Not to mention the fact that we live 20 miles from each other. During my time on the phone with A&E Factory Service, a direct agent/representative for Sears, they were not cooperative when I wanted to schedule these appointments and speak to supervisors. In most cases, I was talking with people that I could not understand and requested to speak to someone that could speak better English. I was denied this request.
Finally, I was transferred back to Sears Executive Customer Relations. I explained that I wanted the refrigerator replaced, my mothers money back and reimbursement of hundreds of dollars of food that were ruined. The only compensation that Sears agreed to provide was to refund my mother $65. I refused it and I went on to explain that I would be contacting A&E Factory Service Whirlpool Headquarters, Sears Headquarters, the Better Business Bureau and the Alabama Attorney General to file a complaint. If no results are obtained, I will then contact our attorney. As of today, 11/14/2015, my mother does not have a working refrigerator and is not in the position to purchase another as she is on a fixed income. This has caused great stress in her life that she is unable to cope with due to her age and medical condition.

We purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator from Best Buy April 2014 and also purchased the Geek Squad protection. August of this year the ice maker would not dispense any ice, just made a ratcheting noise. We called Geek Squad. They sent A & E out on Sept. 2nd. The tech showed up and diagnosed it as a failure of the ice maker and dispenser and ordered the new parts to be shipped to our house. An appt. was set for Oct. 6, 2015 between 8 and 5 to install the parts that we received on 9-8-2015.
Approx. 8:30 on the 6th the tech called and said he would not be here until 4 pm. At around 3:30 the tech called and said he would not be here until 6 pm, we said ok. 6 o'clock came and went. Finally at around 8:30 the tech called and said he would be here at 10 pm, my wife said "that is too late and his reply was "well let me finish this job and I will call back." At 8:40 pm he called and said he was on his way and his GPS showed he was an hour out. I said "no way that is too late." "You need to reschedule. I was told that I needed to call his office the next day to reschedule.
I called A & E on Oct. 7th and was told the next appointment for my area was on Oct. 28th. I told them that was not acceptable and they need to schedule my repair within a week, they said they could not do that. I called Geek Squad and after repeated phone calls back and forth they informed me that they could not get another company to come out and repair it and they could not get A & E to schedule the repair any sooner than Oct. 28th.
Well yesterday, Oct. 27th we get a call telling us we were on the schedule to have the repairs done on Oct. 28th between 8 am and 5 pm. Last night we received an automated phone call from A & E telling us we were scheduled for the first repair and the technician would be here by 10 am. 10 am came and went, at 11 am I called A & E to find out what time their technician would be here. After being put on hold for about 5 minutes she came back and said "I'm sorry we don't have a technician in your area today, he called in sick." I said that was unacceptable, no phone call to let us know.
So again I called Geek Squad and explained the situation to them (I was on the phone from 11 am until 1:15 pm today with the Geek Squad and Best Buy.). No one was able to get A & E here before Nov. 5th. Sandra, with Geek Squad, went to her supervisor to see if they would approve replacing our refrigerator and was told that it was not approved. Sandra was very apologetic and sorry she could not get this matter resolved and offered the corporate number to Best Buy. I called Best Buy corporate and explained our situation to Amanda, she said she needed to get in touch with the people in charge of the repair division and put me on hold, when she came back she transferred me to John who I found out later is with Geek Squad and only a few seats away from Sandra.
After explaining everything again I was put on hold and when John came back he said he was going to expedite trying to get us a replacement refrigerator. I told him Sandra had already tried that and her supervisor turned her down due to an ice maker not qualifying for replacement. John said he was expediting it and for me to call his office back on Friday afternoon to see if it was approved. So I called corporate Best Buy again and spoke to Tom in consumer affairs. After explaining everything again, he spoke with John at Geek Squad and came back and said that it has been expedited and I just have to wait for the two days to see if it is approved and there was nothing else he could do for us.
We have been purchasing ice for the last two and half months and removed items from the refrigerator twice now for the repairs, everyone has agreed that we have been inconvenienced, yet they tell us their hands are tied. We also purchased, at the same time, a new Samsung range and dishwasher and range hood from Best Buy and over the years many other products and service protections. We will never shop at Best Buy again and will never recommend anyone to purchase a Geek Squad protection plan from them. Why they are still using A & E is beyond me, they only have a one star satisfaction, and I'm sure that is only because you have to give them at least one.

This is the third repair of this 2 year old Whirlpool fridge. A&E initially but misdiagnosed the problem. And had to come out two more times in two weeks to finally diagnose the issue in February--the first two times the technician assumed vs actually looking at the fridge. This resulted in tremendous inconvenience for us but more money for them. That was in February. They eventually "fixed" the problem. Then in July the same problem occurred. It took three weeks for them to fix due to slow and lackadaisical service.
The same problem happened again now in October. We were told no replacement until after the third repair completed. We were scheduled for repairs this morning from 8-12. They called this morning to say we would be the first call of the day and would arrive before 9 am. The tech arrived at 9:10 am. sat in front of our house for 10 min. We then received a call from someone at A&E asking what was wrong with the fridge. We explained someone was here and we are waiting for them to come inside and tell us. The person on the phone hung up. 5 minutes later the tech that was outside drive off.
It is one hour later and we have not heard back from A&E. When we called they told us they don't know what happened to the tech but they can come back between 3-4 pm!! Why did I take the morning off from work for the scheduled time if they wish to play games with us!! We just want a working fridge. We paid for the fridge AND the 4 yr warranty but the fridge has been paid for twice already with what they've charged Lowe's advantage warranty for all these "repairs". I almost feel it's a scam. The only one profiting is A & E. Lowe's need a new repair company, one that is competent and professional. And Whirlpool needs to give us a new fridge as this is now beyond ridiculous. We have been extremely patient but our patience is starting to run out. I am also aghast at the unprofessional behavior of the techs, and incompetence of the managers and staff at A&E as well as their systems and processes of communication.

The first attempt the problem was diagnosed, the second time the incorrect parts were delivered, but I paid for the parts and service. At that time, the computer systems were not cooperating with the local service tech and after a lengthy period of time, he did had do the transaction manually which included ordering the correct part, scheduling the next visit and marking the visit paid. Each appointment took 3+ weeks to schedule. On the third visit, I did not receive any calls in the morning so I called requesting an updated as to when the tech might arrive. I was told they would return my call. I received no return calls and the tech missed the window by almost an hour. They left a note as if it was normal business.
I called to reschedule and the next appointment was 3 more weeks out but the email I got said I had to now pay for the trip. At 2:30 I called again only to be told the service person would not be able to make the appointment and I would need to reschedule. I asked to speak with a supervisor.
The supervisor listened when I told him this was the 4th trip which began in September when the problem was first diagnosed. He was apologetic but nothing he could do other than have someone schedule another visit 2 weeks out. A person called the next day to confirm the date and at the time I decided not to have A&E Factory Service come back. They cancelled the appointment but then said they would make arrangements to return the part. Since I had already paid for the part, I mentioned that I would be keeping the part and would be having someone else installing it.

Our LG washing machine wouldn't turn on. We called repairman, he came out to the house, diagnosed the problem very efficiently. (Nice guy!) And then ordered the part and made an appt for 2 weeks later. On that appt no one showed up so I called and I was told that the manufacturer didn't make the part anymore on a practically brand new washing machine! So then I called back again to clarify this and they told me that our warranty program cancelled the appt and the part that was ordered.
So we called our warranty program and they called A and E and told us that the part was indeed not being made anymore and that A and E had cancelled the appt and never informed us or the warranty people!! A and E was suppose to send paperwork to the warranty people as soon as they figured out the washing machine was deemed unrepairable and they didn't say a word to anyone. Not us or the warranty people and now it's going to be several weeks... A and E is a lying company and will make you jump through the hoops trying to figure out who is telling the truth. A&E said they would be at my home between 8:00am-12:00pm. Never showed up. Called A&E at about 1:00pm to know what was going on. They said no one was home, I said that was a lie because I have been home all day with my door open waiting for them. A&E had the nerve to say that it would be another 2 weeks. Since I had a little fan cover missing in the freezer (been that way for 9 years) they wouldn't fix the ice maker until the fan air deflector was replaced which had to be ordered. So in essence, I had to wait another week to get the ice maker fixed because "they have to fix everything at once". So I asked, "can you just forget the fan air deflector and fix the ice maker", he says yes but then there is no 90-day guarantee. What a ridiculous un-customer friendly schlocky way to do business. Unprofessional appearance, tech #** never tried to diagnose concern of ice dispenser not working and fridge getting warm, freezer icing up. Tech ordered parts and left. On 9/10/15 tech returned, was rude and argued with my wife that she was trying to get "free" ice maker from Frigidaire that he ordered. Started swearing with kids in house, which made my wife yell at him to leave. He grabbed parts which were delivered to our house in my wife's name and left in a hurry. I called and complained to A&E. I called A&E for our warranty service repair. They sent out a Technician. The technician didn't speak English very well, but enough for me to understand him. He proceeded to order the parts that were needed for my refrigerator. The parts came in within a couple of days of each other. The first part was for the door of my fridge, so I put it on... easy. The ice tray came the following day, so I was going to just slide it into place. Well, the part that locks the ice tray into place is different, so I thought maybe it had been remodeled.
Handle it he did NOT! The SAME technician forced the new part into place, which in turn created an opening in the ice maker tray to where it doesn't fit snug any longer. I tried to tell him it was the wrong part and refused to listen to me. All he said was, "I ordered the part. It is correct!" I even tried to show him the part #s were different.
He took my old ice tray with him. Now my ice is melting, dripping into my fridge and out of the dispenser. I requested new service with a NEW technician. My appointment was today, and guess who showed up?? GRRRR... same technician. I didn't let him in and he proceeded to tell me that my previous part had been discontinued and that this was the remodel. WRONG AGAIN!!! I called Sears, and they have the part. But, I shouldn't have to pay for it when it's under "warranty."Called and talked with SEVERAL representatives today and a supervisor (all who are hard to understand!) and they're sending me a new technician. A technician came today to repair my Kenmore washing machine in Seattle, WA. He had a difficult time understanding what would cause the washer to fill, but not start the cycles. The first thing he asked me for was a bottle of water. When I asked if it was necessary for the repair, he said "no, I'm just thirsty." He spent an hour trying to understand the problem, finally decided it was a connection between the lid and a switch, but stated he did not have the right tools to fix the problem, so he suggested my husband could do it. I expected to pay the $109 for the service call, but he charged an additional $70 for his labor, even though he left the machine apart so my husband could fix it and didn't complete a repair. I was furious when his "Trainer/Supervisor" got out of the van and said he doesn't need to train the guy, because he was in the Navy!
I called A&E, who suggested I file a complaint against the trainee, but what about the Trainer who sat in the van over an hour while the guy struggled?! I want the money back for labor. I finally found Sears Repair Customer Service (8004694663) who is going to have Sears Billing call me. I agreed to pay for the service call, but don't want to pay labor when nothing was resolved. I also notified my credit card company so I can dispute if Sears is not helpful. P.S. I let him run my credit card before I clarified the charges... stupid me.

I called A and E directly and was told that the repairman was held up and wouldn't be at my home until 1:00. 1:00 came and went and again no phone call and no repairman. I called again. Now I'm told the repairman won’t be there until 2:00. 2:00 came and went. No phone call, no repairman. I called again. Now I'm told it's too late and now we'll have to reschedule as there were still 3 people ahead of me for repairs. I denied to be rescheduled and asked to speak to a manager. In the meantime, I'm getting very suspicious and googled A and E Factory Service. They have the absolute worst reviews on multiple review sites that I have ever seen.
Multiple people stated in their reviews that their service repairmen never showed up or called and when they called A and E to find out the status, they were told that their repairman was either in an accident or had some sort of emergency and had to reschedule. Lo and behold, this is exactly what happened to me. When I spoke to a manager at A and E he told me my repairman was just in a car accident and had to cancel the rest of his appointments for that day. What? Seriously? After I gave this manager a serious earful and called b/s on him that multiple reviews said this is common for this company the best he could come back with was to re-schedule me on 9/22. 9/22... 12 days later. And this is GE's preferred company for doing their warranty repair work. Needless to say I did not reschedule for the 22nd however, a repairman showed up that day anyway, while I was at work. So they don't show up when scheduled but do show up when not scheduled.

In 2 weeks they came back with the wrong part so they said they would order the correct part and I had to wait another 2 weeks. In 2 weeks they came back... WRONG PART again. So now after 3 visits, they say they will for sure get the correct part and come back again on October 8th.
This time, I opened the mail when it came and I could tell it's still the wrong part. Called the resolution number for them to let them know it's the wrong part again (I was trying to give them a heads up). Was told by someone I could not understand that my order has been closed and it's not their problem. So now after 3 days of trying to reach someone, I am told someone will be at my house on the 15th however, since it's the wrong part. They will need to review what has occurred - most likely need to order a new part which will mean another 2 weeks from them. Worst part of all of this, is the messages I left for someone to call me. I made a repair claim with my Insurance (First American) for an appliance that was not working. First American asked Sears to get it fixed for me. Sears work with A&E Factory Service (may be a part of Sears). Technician came to repair the appliance and told me he had "fixed" it. We tested it in his presence. I questioned the funny noise it was making and the tech assured me he had fixed it. According to our insurance, we have to pay $65 for a trip visit and First American pay for the repairs. The tech filled out a slip and asked me to give card info. When he gave me the receipt, I saw that it was for $135 instead of $65 and I informed the tech that the charge was incorrect and he should only charge me $65. He said he was not able to reverse it - I should call A&E. When I called them, they said they would advise - heard nothing.
I then called First American who said they would also call and find out. Meanwhile, the appliance was not working so I called both A&E and First American. A&E sent another tech who tested it and stated that he needed to order a switch. Later, I was informed that the switch was no longer available so the appliance would need to be replaced. This was done. Today, 90 days after the event, I am still waiting for my $135 refund. I have been informed that First American only paid them last week - which I intend to find out BUT IT WILL TAKE THEIR ACCOUNTING DEPT BETWEEN 30 - 60 DAYS FROM TODAY TO EFFECT THE REFUND. I cannot believe that First American continue to use Sears for repairs when Sears work closely with A&E who are absolutely lacking in customer service. Every time they have come to our house they tell us they need to order another part.
The repair personnel have very little (if any) knowledge about our fridge and how to fix it and I now suspect the "order another part" excuse is made to simply hide their incompetence and get on to the next appointment. The personnel on the phone are of little to no help. It seems everyone just points the finger at someone else and no one is able to answer my questions, nor are they willing to take responsibility or appropriate action to get things done.. and I thought Congress was bad. In sum, the experience has been a complete and utter nightmare.
My recommendation to anyone who has purchased an appliance and A&E is the contracted repair company, would be to avoid A&E at all costs. In retrospect, I would have paid to have the fridge fixed by a local company out of my own pocket rather than have to deal with the astounding ineptitude of A&E. Fine, although as a side note they never emailed me the receipt (cost was $400) and I was told they "couldn't" but the technician would bring a copy. Okay. I called to schedule the appointment and had to wait two weeks for the "first available" appointment. Fine again, but sort of incredible it takes that long to get an appointment. I scheduled the appointment for the given morning between 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and was told that I would receive a call from the technician letting me know he was on his way (30 minutes notice) so I would have time to get to the property (it is not my residence).
At 8:30 in the morning I got a call that the technician had been there and left because I wasn't there, which obviously I was not because I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE TECHNICIAN LETTING ME KNOW HE WAS ON HIS WAY. Between 8:30 and 11 a.m., I made FIVE calls to A&E, and each time the customer service rep said they were sending a message to the technician and that the technician would call me back. I NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. At 11:15 I spoke with a "supervisor" who said she was going to talk to the routing department and get back to me with a resolution. The "resolution" was waiting two more weeks to get another appointment. Terrible, terrible, terrible service. Absolutely no accountability for their mistakes. NEVER USE A&E.

So, my dryer has been broken for more than three months and after jumping through Samsung's hoops I'm ready to get it fixed. So Samsung left the service repair to A & E Factory Service (1-800-905-0505). They scheduled an appointment for today between 8am - 5pm. A & E called yesterday to confirm the appointment and my husband took the day off to be there. I called them today to find out where the technician was and they told me they never scheduled a technician to be in our area. They followed up with what they could do, which was reschedule for Thursday. NO THANK YOU! As all of us professional people understand, it's difficult to take an entire day off work. This is unacceptable. I called Samsung and they are looking for a different provider. Further, I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. This is just not good customer service. It's unacceptable.

We have a Sears Kenmore Water Softener that needed repair. Let me tell you how it went.... Our lawyer will be reviewing this case in 2 business days if this is not resolved IMMEDIATELY. On July 31, 2015, Alex from A&E came to our home to fix our water softener. After telling me I owe him $40 more than the original quoted price, he said he would take apart our water softener, clean it and fix it. We had our water softener bypassed because we knew it was broken.
When Alex came, he supposedly fixed it, and unbypassed the water softener. He did NOT fix the issue, he didn't even touch the water softener. 8 hours after realizing he didn't fix it, our ENTIRE water supply was ruined because the yellow resin beads went all throughout our ENTIRE water system in our home. We called him and asked him to fix it, he said he would charge us $145 trip charge JUST to come back.
We called A&E to complain and they said the next available appt. will be in 3 weeks. Today, is when the appointment was supposed to happen and the gentleman that showed up said he only works on refrigeration and has no idea about water softeners. I stayed home from work to make this appointment possible. I called A&E to get this rectified and the EARLIEST possible date was in 10 days. This is the most unprofessional, unsympathetic service organization I have ever dealt with. "Service you can count on"? Does our situation sound like anything that company promises? Absolutely shameful.
Our tongues have all turned yellow from the resin in our water system. We have had to drink and cook from bottled water ever since Alex ruined the water system. Every single one of our faucets had to be taken apart. We will definitely be taking this case and discussing with our lawyer if the proper compensation and service is not taken IMMEDIATELY. Shameful that Sears works with such a company.

This company is the sorriest excuse for a repair company that I have ever experienced. GE needs to find someone else to service their appliances. They had to come twice because they broke my machine the first time. They issued me a credit from the first trip, however I never received it. No one can transfer me to their billing office - they don't seem to know how to do that. DO NOT USE A&E FACTORY SERVICE! They are horrible. After two visits my washing machine still does not work like it did before it broke but I am not allowing them back in my home. So I am just going to use my machine until it totally breaks down, then will purchase another one, but NOT a GE if they use A&E Factory Service!

Less than 1 year old Arctic King/Midea air-conditioner stopped working. It has a two year warranty. I first contacted A&E in June, now it's Aug 20th and the air conditioner is still not fixed. The first appointment the service man was a no show. We had to reschedule and wait for another 2 1/2 weeks for a new appointment. That was yesterday, the service man said he had to order a part called the start capacitor.
Now I have to wait another two weeks for A&E to come back to install the start capacitor (that is if the service man shows). Summer is almost over and we had record number of days over 95 Fahrenheit heat and needless to say, we had no air conditioning during that time. I spent 500 dollars for the machine, installation kit, plus labor to install the air conditioner. I will not buy an another appliance when I will have to rely on A&E service, specially based upon the other reviewers similar experiences. Additionally Arctic King/Midea air conditioner is a piece of crap. It should not have broken less than a year. What a waste of money!

I purchased a Samsung WA40J3000A 3 months ago and it started giving me an issue over the weekend. I called it in because I have a 3-year warranty, A&E tech said he could not find a problem although he only used his computer and ran the water and drained it. The technician told me to sign that he did something although he nothing or I would be charged. I called his office and was transferred. The tech and representative told 2 totally different things. The technician even said he could make up something just to get my signature. Long story short, I did not give a dime and he said Samsung would cover it because it has been less than a year. The bill was for $136.00. I believe this company is a 3rd party rip off.

I have severe Asthma and purchased a Samsung Microwave with a powerful exhaust to remove cooking odors and steam. I cannot cook without a strong exhaust fan or I will have multiple Asthma Attacks, so for me this expensive microwave was a medical necessity but imagine my surprise when I used the timer on it and the microwave failed to function. If I turn the fan on high and then use the microwave, the micro turns the fan to low. A&E changed my appointment on me. I was forced to rebook.
Guy arrived and told me it was a misprint in Samsung's instructions and left having done nothing. He did mention that in order to get paid he was going to tell them he fixed a wire, untrue and sad that he was just carrying out his orders. I then spent 3 hours at Home Depot trying to fix this and was told by Samsung that I would receive a answer in 1-2 days. 1week later no news. I called Samsung and was told I had to start the process all over. So I did and had A&E back to my house. My micro is still broken. Time to try Home Depot... Again.

We had a brand new overhead microwave. Wouldn't work from the minute it was installed because the microwave thought the door was always open. Called the manufacturer who referred us to A&E. Described the issue to them. They had me open and close the door several times firmly, light still on, won't cook. Lady says they will schedule a repair person, 2 weeks from the date of the call. Repair person shows up and says "It says you have light leakage?" No, I explain the light stays on and microwave won't operate because of that. He says "Oh, it's a door switch. We don't have any, sorry, will have to order". I ask why we couldn't have determined that over the phone and had parts already on order, he simply shrugs his shoulders. Orders parts, tells me it will be two weeks before next appointment opening. He asks if I would rather do 2:30 or 4 o' clock. I choose 2:30.
Day of the repair appointment...it is 4:30 and no repairman. Call A&E, they explain he will come between 9 and 5. They tell me I am last on the list and he will likely be there around 5. Repairman told me earlier the fix would take almost an hour to replace all the door switches. I explained to A&E this will put me at 6 PM before he's done, if he's on time and I have commitments at 5:30, already took an entire day off work to sit and wait for a 2:30 appointment that never happened. All I get was "sorry, we understand your frustration, our technician will be there between 9 AM and 5 PM sir." Terrible customer service. I will avoid for sure if I am ever footing the bill.

My sister-in-law in Costa Mesa, CA called Sears Home Services to schedule a dishwasher repair (water does not empty out). An A& E tech showed up, did some repair work, presented the $136.00 bill. A check made out to Sears was offered, but not accepted. The tech demanded a debit card payment to A&E, MasterCard or Visa was not accepted. My sister-in-law has no debit card. She finally got the tech out of the house by giving him cash, $ 200.00 with no change. The tech got away with a $64.00 tip!?!?! Unbelievable. The water still does not empty out.

Told him to leave after trying to charge 130 for service call and 600 for compressor. Called again they sent same guy says it only needs freon. Didn't have it with him and took wires off so it didn't go on when he left. Called again ask not to send Gerad they said Ok. Lo and behold he comes again. Looks, does something and now unit don't turn off. I hope my house don't burn down.
Call again to complain... "Someone will come." Still waiting for 2 days. A&E - worst company to deal with. What's worse is, how does Sears contract them to represent them? Every time I call Sears direct to complain they transfer me to A&E. I wouldn't recommend warranty from them to my worst enemy. Never buy nothing from Sears again. Hope they go out of business along with A&E and the contract people starve and lose everything they worked for.

Our previous dealings with A&E were positive. But this problem is just unbelievable. I am not a rude or angry person, but this situation has tried my patience! The details are three typed pages, but this is a synopsis. The days and hours of my wasted time make me the most angry. First call for a repair of our microwave was May 29, 2015. After six appointments, with 2-3 weeks in between, our microwave has stopped again. I had requested that two technicians no longer come to my home and was told they were no longer with the company. This morning one of the disrespectful employees arrived at my home on August 7. I asked him to leave after he was disrespectful again. Made another phone call to make a report and after three hours, I am still waiting. I have two dates recorded when I was on hold for 2 hours to make an appointment. Twice I was disconnected while waiting. Why Sears still uses this company is beyond me.

I called Sears Repair to replace the belt on my dryer. I didn't realize that Sears no longer did their own repairs. A service repairman from A&E came. The service call was $79. The belt was $33. It took the repairman about ten minutes to replace the belt. In addition to the $79, A&E charged $161 for labor. My total bill was $204.00. And then the dryer again stopped after doing about four loads. It turned out the wrong belt had been used. When the repairman came again and replaced the belt he informed me there would be no charge. I replied "There had better not be. I would not pay it." Just out of curiosity I called a local business that sells appliances and does their own repairs. They would have charged a total of $125.00. Came out Monday again to work on our 9-month-old Electrolux fridge. This is over 10 times different companies have been out to no avail but beside the point. A&E Factory Repair came into my home Monday Aug. 3 around 8am, set computer up on counter, started asking question as to what the issue was then said we were out of warranty and he could not work on it! We would have to call Electrolux back and reschedule another appointment after my husband and I had already taken the morning off work. I showed him the sales receipt to prove the purchase date, he called someone then told us he could not work on it!! He told me I would have to call them back and reset an appointment! He then left.
Electrolux said if I showed the paperwork of proof of purchase he should have done the work. Haha, I had a message from management on my phone this morning Aug. 6 to call them to discuss the issue from Monday where we had turned the A&E repair person away at the front door!! What a joke. He stood in our kitchen talked with both me and my husband about what was going on with the frig. and showed us on the computer where it was typed in as "NO WARRANTY" Amazing how someone could just lie... flat lie! And why? I do not get it!! Now, waiting for management at Electrolux to call me back but I can say this much. No A&E at my home!! EVER!!

I would never use this company. My washing broke under warranty - June 25, 2015. August 4, 2015, they came to fix it. Had no parts on their truck or van to fix it. Will be back on September 8, 2015 to fix my washer. That means - had I not went out & bought a new washing machine from a very small town private dealer, I would have been without a washing machine for about 2 and 1/2 months. Don't buy from Sears, Lowe's, Home Depot, Best Buy, or any big box store. A & E does all the repairs for these stores. I don't have a gripe about the repairman that came to my house. I have a serious problem with A & E Factory repair. I live near Cedar Rapids Iowa.

They've been to my house on 5 service calls of the same fridge. One appt was confirmed the day before, but then they never showed up or called. The next one they replaced 5 parts on Wednesday, then fridge leaked all over the kitchen floor and living room carpet. Called and told them it was an emergency, and then we waited 3 days while water was ruining our house. Then the following Wed when they were supposed to come in the am with a 1/2 notice, they called us on a bad number and canceled the appt. Oh yeah water is still pouring out.
We called again and insisted on them returning, they said 12 noon no later. We called back at 3 pm and they still didn't show up. Terrible service and very poor workmanship, not to mention being the most ignorant people I've dealt with. Technician came to install new sliders for refrigerator door as the door was not closing tight. He installed them and noticed that he kept pushing and hitting the sliders as if to knock them in. He left... and the door lacks 1/8 -1/4 inch of closing, he actually made it worse. I called to have him return as he was only 10 minutes away. I was told it was past his work schedule and he was going home. Are you kidding me...? I have a freezer full of food, a freezer running and leaking ice on hardwood floors and this guy goes home?
I called A&E and they said they would contact me tomorrow to reschedule the appointment. That does not work for me... asked what I do about the food? They actually told me to "Unplug the refrigerator and throw everything out in the refrigerator and freezer since we we're not going to be available for a couple of days and file a claim for lost food with Lowe's." So what am I suppose to feed the kids...? Absolutely the worst customer service ever.

From his entry and appearance, he has no intention to repair, just give you unsolvable cause and will walk out with the money.
