Very good customer service, best offers on the internet, only thing to watch out is that you are buying parts or equipment that is meant for the US market if you want to have the manufacturers warranty. Otherwise, they are available via phone, no issues there.

Bought my first SLR from Abe's many years ago. Still have it, but 35mm film is pretty much obsolete. Prices are still excellent, selection is huge and product descriptions are complete and accurate. I purchased a Nikon D810 from Abe’s of Maine a few years back and purchased the extended accidental warranty thinking that if anything were to happen to my camera that the accidental damage warranty would cover the repair or replacement. Sure enough my camera fell to the ground and damaged it enough to have a soft focus. When I went to make a claim they told me that it wouldn't be covered due to my camera strap being faulty. Please! I warn you against this company and instead choose an an authorized dealer to purchase the camera from. I've learned my lesson and wish I would have read the reviews for this company ahead of time. Don't make my same mistake!

I ordered a Nikon Z7 with the FTZ online for $2800. A good deal. I get a call the next morning from the sales guy named Jeff. He starts the upsale. NO problems with that, but I think the only time this guy is not lying is when his mouth is shut. Needless to say that the camera price increased a few hundred dollars when I received the receipt. Hmm. I asked about pricing and he stated that I ordered the "Retail Package". You know, the one that comes with the strap, eye piece, battery and instruction manual. Geez. I immediately stated that I wanted to cancel the order and I even sent an email 2 different times during the day to do so. Oh no, it had shipped already and that was before 1 PM EST. Miraculously in 1 hr UPS had picked it up. That was just part of a chain of lies. UPS actually picked it up after 7 PM EST.

Looked at consumer reviews for Abe's of Maine which speak for themself. We wouldn't have chosen them if it weren't for such positive feedback from multiple sources. Will definitely do business with them again in the future! I suggest everyone else does the same!

A friend ordered a gift for someone who past away suddenly and now needed to return the item. The sales person named Steve verbally assaults you right away by saying that your are mental or not right in the head for trying to ask about speaking to someone. It is stated in the return policy that you need to obtain an RMA# which is needed for a return, after calling to try to speak with someone else he stated "I got your # on caller ID" and thereafter proceeded to hang up repeatedly. Mind you there is a 14 day window to return item for refund. Basically you are not entitled to a refund and they will charge you anyway. The item was well over $1000 and would have been appreciated by our friend who suddenly died. Don't purchase from this company. They have no scruples.

Went online to purchase Nikon camera and kit lens at a really good price. The next business day, a fast talking salesman sends an email asking me to call to "verify" the purchase. When I call, he wants to offer me a "better deal - a kit that includes lots of stuff I'll need and find useful. I go for it but later discover the kit he's selling me is not the advertised one but stripped to bare essentials and lacks the advertised kit contents. I call and complain, he reduces price a little and blows it off. I will not use them again. Beware of the upsell!

Made a purchase through the website (camera) and was later sent a confirmation email. This email prompted me to call a number, so I did. Once connected, the person tried to upsell me by telling me that my purchase didn’t go through and that I needed to get a battery with it. Long story short, I gave in and paid the extra $100 for the battery and charger. I then came to this website to take a look at the reviews and multiple different people have the same exact situation. I called back and told them I want to cancel the purchase because they are a fraud company and they hung up, further proving that they are a scam. I called my credit card company and told them I need to cancel a purchase and then called Abe’s back to tell them yet again to cancel my purchase, and they hung up AGAIN. I've used Abe's of Maine a few times and the experience has gotten easier. However, I did buy a D850 "special package" last year and got charged a bunch extra for a cheap SD card. I know they did that because the D850 was in such short supply and I wanted it so bad.

I ordered two camera bodies at the Memorial Day sale price of $696 each which were not advertised as not eligible for U.S. warranty. I was told this after Adam sent an email, requesting that I confirm the order. Once he told me the cameras were not eligible I asked to cancel my order. Adam proceeded to hard sell me the more expensive $899 camera with the U.S. warranty which was more expensive but offered to sell them for $829 each. I was at work so didn't want to continue to argue and agreed to the change. As soon as I hung up, I felt very strongly that I did not want to deal with a company that uses bait and switch tactics.

I purchased an LG 86 inch tv but it was extremely difficult to check out. We just sold our home and moved and I was unable to take advantage of 0% interest for one year which was preferred method for me. Unfortunately, when I applied my application was denied because it was unable to verify my address. There was no contact number to receive assistance other than to contact the credit bureau. I paid with my own credit card.

I bought lens Nikon 24/70 and it works good. 24-70mm is the sweet spot of the zoom range for many photographers, great for everything from landscapes and studio work to weddings and press events. The f/2.8 constant aperture allows for faster shutter speeds to freeze fast action, renders a beautiful bokeh blur and performs brilliantly in low light. I am glad with business with Abe's of Maine.

With prices this low, I feel like I just won the lottery. Can't wait to shoot with my new lens when it arrives - Tamrons newest 150 to 600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 SP. Abe's has saved me approx $300 compared to buying it elsewhere such as Amazon or Adorama. Thank you.

Visa verify means you have to place your order. Then get it rejected. Then make a follow up call to your card company all while sitting on hold for 20 min and being subjected to stupid question. When this is done you have to redo your order. Why you may ask. Because the vendor is protecting themself... they say it's to protect you but this is simply B.S. Sounds to me like they have had a lot of bad employees taking bad cards. It's simply a pain in the ass for the rest of us.

This is my second purchase from Abe's of Maine. In both cases, the price was competitive. I don't expect any issues with this purchase as there were none with the first. The only reason I withheld a star was because the item description layout could have included a tab with information about what is included "in the box." I had to search to find that the camera is shipped with whatever the manufacturer includes, which I have to go to the. Manufacturer's site to see.

This is my after receiving my order review. When I first ordered, I selected a specific brand and size camera lens that suited my budget. Shortly after making my purchase, I received a phone call from Abe's confirming my order and place of delivery. The man on the other end of the call was very friendly and chatty. After several minutes of small talk, the man insisted that what I had ordered would not meet my expectations and worked to convince me that I would be better off with a camera lens of a different size AND price...and that I would absolutely need the 3 year warranty as well.

Shopped all around for my new Nikon Z7 and found the best deal here at Abe’s. Selection of Z lenses however, was very limited; there was only one option. I had to buy the basic 35mm lens elsewhere. Otherwise, transaction was very efficient.

I ordered (Nikon 200-500mm) lens recently, got an email from Abe's to call the customer care to confirm the order. When I called them they asked me whether you want Regular Version or Retail Version. I asked for the difference between both. This price is for Regular Version. You need to pay 1499$ for retail version (that includes Tripod Color etc., etc.). They didn't mentioned this nowhere in the site and the person who talked to me (Steve) was very RUDE and unprofessional.

I did have to make a call to confirm my purchase at which time the rep did ask me if I wanted an additional battery but it was by no means a hard sell. ONE DAY later my camera arrived and all is good. Their price cannot be beat and coupled with the service they deserve 5 stars!

The price, including free shipping and no sales tax, was much lower than what Amazon was charging for the same TV. The day after purchasing the TV online, however, Abe's of Maine sent me an email telling me that I had to call them to "confirm my purchase."

You order the television at a great price. Free shipping. You place the order, the order doesn't go thru and a salesperson calls you next day to verify and upsell you things. I HAD to pay a charge on insurance even though it is free shipping THEN the sales person advised I get white glove - it's only 69 dollars more but the total I paid in additional fees was $388.00. I can't hate this place as I still saved $980 total. BUT I don't like double talking and am pissed that I let it happen to me.

Purchase of Tamron Lens on Mon 4/22/19. I called on Monday morning and ordered the lens. I talked to Adam who really knew his cameras and gave me some great advice in making my purchase. He said he would try to get this order out ASAP but would make no guarantees on how fast it would be delivered. Yes... I am in PA but I was very amazed when the UPS deliveryman came by midafternoon the next day with my lens and accessories. Wow... I had free shipping and it only took one day. Thumbs up for Abe's... I had one of the best buying experiences ever with them plus I saved $150 on this lens. It has not been this low ever even on Amazon.

After ordering the TV online, their website said, "NO Shipping Fees, No Sales Tax". A couple days later I got an email asking me to call them and CONFIRM my order. When I did, the Abe's rep informed me of a $200+ add-on charge for INSURANCE. Funny how that didn't show up on the Cart or Order page. I canceled the order on the spot.
