I would've liked an estimated shipping dates for ground shipping and the other shipping options because I was not sure if I needed to pay for the 3-day select. Otherwise the process was fairly easy and quick and hopefully everything else goes well!

I ordered two camera bodies at the Memorial Day sale price of $696 each which were not advertised as not eligible for U.S. warranty. I was told this after Adam sent an email, requesting that I confirm the order. Once he told me the cameras were not eligible I asked to cancel my order. Adam proceeded to hard sell me the more expensive $899 camera with the U.S. warranty which was more expensive but offered to sell them for $829 each. I was at work so didn't want to continue to argue and agreed to the change. As soon as I hung up, I felt very strongly that I did not want to deal with a company that uses bait and switch tactics.

I bought lens Nikon 24/70 and it works good. 24-70mm is the sweet spot of the zoom range for many photographers, great for everything from landscapes and studio work to weddings and press events. The f/2.8 constant aperture allows for faster shutter speeds to freeze fast action, renders a beautiful bokeh blur and performs brilliantly in low light. I am glad with business with Abe's of Maine.

Visa verify means you have to place your order. Then get it rejected. Then make a follow up call to your card company all while sitting on hold for 20 min and being subjected to stupid question. When this is done you have to redo your order. Why you may ask. Because the vendor is protecting themself... they say it's to protect you but this is simply B.S. Sounds to me like they have had a lot of bad employees taking bad cards. It's simply a pain in the ass for the rest of us.

Shopped all around for my new Nikon Z7 and found the best deal here at Abe’s. Selection of Z lenses however, was very limited; there was only one option. I had to buy the basic 35mm lens elsewhere. Otherwise, transaction was very efficient.

I ordered (Nikon 200-500mm) lens recently, got an email from Abe's to call the customer care to confirm the order. When I called them they asked me whether you want Regular Version or Retail Version. I asked for the difference between both. This price is for Regular Version. You need to pay 1499$ for retail version (that includes Tripod Color etc., etc.). They didn't mentioned this nowhere in the site and the person who talked to me (Steve) was very RUDE and unprofessional.

I did have to make a call to confirm my purchase at which time the rep did ask me if I wanted an additional battery but it was by no means a hard sell. ONE DAY later my camera arrived and all is good. Their price cannot be beat and coupled with the service they deserve 5 stars!

You order the television at a great price. Free shipping. You place the order, the order doesn't go thru and a salesperson calls you next day to verify and upsell you things. I HAD to pay a charge on insurance even though it is free shipping THEN the sales person advised I get white glove - it's only 69 dollars more but the total I paid in additional fees was $388.00. I can't hate this place as I still saved $980 total. BUT I don't like double talking and am pissed that I let it happen to me.

Purchase of Tamron Lens on Mon 4/22/19. I called on Monday morning and ordered the lens. I talked to Adam who really knew his cameras and gave me some great advice in making my purchase. He said he would try to get this order out ASAP but would make no guarantees on how fast it would be delivered. Yes... I am in PA but I was very amazed when the UPS deliveryman came by midafternoon the next day with my lens and accessories. Wow... I had free shipping and it only took one day. Thumbs up for Abe's... I had one of the best buying experiences ever with them plus I saved $150 on this lens. It has not been this low ever even on Amazon.

After ordering the TV online, their website said, "NO Shipping Fees, No Sales Tax". A couple days later I got an email asking me to call them and CONFIRM my order. When I did, the Abe's rep informed me of a $200+ add-on charge for INSURANCE. Funny how that didn't show up on the Cart or Order page. I canceled the order on the spot.

With exception to locating a promo code (all that I found posted were not valid but posted on various sites), the end cost was still a great price. I assume the camera will also come with the normal equipment... charger, battery, etc... it didn't list? Tried to call this date and rec'd recording.

Ordered a brand new Fujifilm XT3 with 18-55 mm lens for $1529 as advertised at their website. Later they said, they will not ship all the original accessories that it comes with from Fujifilm, the manufacturer. They were asking me to pay hundreds more for those that comes free along with the camera. Never ever buy anything from them. The FTC, FCC and New Jersey consumer protection agency should look into their business practices. This is a company that advertise low prices and then gauges people exuberant extra amount that suppose to come free as manufacturer provides those in the original box. I have canceled my order as they knew I am not falling for it.

Purchased a camera from them, due to being less expensive from other e-tailers. Male rep called me up, who attempted to sell me some items, I knew I don't need, so I refused. That when he told me that item will not be available after 3 weeks and was in disbelief, as it was not on backorder per their site info. The following day, I decided to cancel the item, as I was traveling abroad and need it asap. A lady rep told me that actually they have it in stock, but was on package deal and that I have to pay extra for them. Due to necessity, I went ahead and bought it with added items. When I received it, I was shocked, as it was not a kit, as she told me and there were no added items. I didn't have the chance to complain, as I went on a 4 week trip to Europe, afterwards. This woman, which I cannot recall her name right now, is a duper and extremely dishonest person. Will not shop with them again!

I had trouble getting the same as cash financing to recognize my order, but the purchase price was deducted from my finance limit with each attempt??? It made me fear being charged multiple times for the same item. Called Sales and Customer Service and no one could explain this or assuage my fears, I was told I could wait a few days to be sure. The website seems to be quick and efficient. I liked how I could choose different lens options with my camera. I also liked how it presented various warranty options on my camera. I wished that there would have been comparable deals on lens as well.

E-mail is sometimes answered... sometimes not. I suppose you could provide more info on "grey" market purchases when compared to full US retail. The lens I purchased is "grey" without warranty, case and lens hood. Had to e-mail to get this info... should be on the website at point of sale.

While researching best prices for cameras, I found Abe's site. I'll tell you what, Abe's prices are better by far. I can't even find the same camera used for Abe's prices. I ordered a Sigma lens that was listed with the lens hood for just under $600... A day later, I receive a message asking me to call them back (this is very typical of retails who practice this scam) and they told me what I ordered was not what I would be getting and that the picture was there as just a placeholder. They told me that the specific lens I ordered was not in stock BUT they have the same exact lens WITH the hood and would offer it to me at $660. Keep in mind, the hood is simply an accessory and if they were reputable, they would have gave me what I ordered without any trickery or upsale.

Checkout was a little weird. There is no clear instructions as to how to complete the purchase after you are approved for the credit. On a fluke I just tried the application process again and it worked. Otherwise I would have had to wait a couple of days. You should put a note about this on your site. ALSO you misprinted the Synchrony application phone line. The number begins as 877, but you have it listed as 887 which is an invalid phone number. Thanks.

Ordered camera. Rep from Abe's of Maine called me and flat out lied to me, telling me that the camera did not come with a lens cap. He recommended that I buy a more expensive "package" that included a lens cap, battery and memory card. As it turns out the card was the most expensive high end card -- More than I would ever need. I could have bought these accessories for much much less on eBay. The "lens cap" was actually a UV filter (that I don't need). The camera already came with a black lens cap. When I wanted to return the filter and card, they told me that I had to return the ENTIRE package AND pay a "restocking fee". They offered me a $40 refund to just keep everything, which I just accepted.

I was in the market for a new telephoto lens for my Canon body and wanted the Canon 100-400mm IS ii. I saw a price that seemed too good to be true from Abe’s, at $1449. I’d heard of them and thought they were reputable, and given that price I placed an order. The next day I got a call. Then another. Then an email. And another. After finding time to call back, I was asked many questions about my existing equipment, and then was asked if I wanted the “retail version” of the lens that also included the lens caps, the hood, case, and the tripod ring and shoe. I was told that normally is $2,200 but I could have it for $1999.

Not trying to be mean, just want to explain issues with the site. Looking for lenses was quite annoying. So annoying in fact, I opted to lose out on the anniversary savings and just look elsewhere because the browsing experience was less than intuitive. The lack of categorical search functions makes it hard to find and compare anything unless you know exactly what you're seeking to purchase, and the few categories you can narrow down to require like 4 page refreshes and even then, there's no guarantee you're getting a comprehensive result. I was looking for E mount lenses and got 3 pages of SD cards followed by a load of A mount lenses only to find that after all the sifting, all of the E lenses Abe's has to offer weren't even listed in the search results. I hope it gets fixed because I'd like to buy from here again. Thanks.

Once a valued customer pays a 15% restocking fee, competitors like B&H immediately becomes a better value proposition.

Ordered a lens at a great price. An hour later, a goon from inside sales calls and tries to dissuade me from this product. Claimed it has a cheap mount, need to buy the warranty, might take a few weeks to get etc... I declined the upsale, and waited for a week. When I checked back, they had canceled the order. I called them and they said they would reinstate the order. They didn’t. They weren’t going to make any money so they won’t sell it. Period. Had to pay more at another reseller, but no games and it’s on the way.

It came in the mail after the sleazy salesman called me right away and upsold me and what I didn't need. I got the wrong camera. I bought the Sony XBR65A9F OLED TV. The price listed on the website was $3596 plus $135 for two year warranty with Free shipping. Upon submitting the order I got an email saying verification of purchase needed. So I called Abe's of Maine and talked to sales rep. Who told me that it is large item and I need to buy insurance for the freight and it will cost me $41.19. Literally I thought it is only $40 some dollars, it would not be big deal. But after I saw the email confirmation I was outraged by seeing that the amount he charged me $4119 of total which is $378 more. They just pulled a trick by saying 41 19 and it doesn’t mention anything on the website. This is total con job pulled by the salesperson. I am disgusted about Abe's of Maine and staying away from this company.

Easy to navigate. Found the lens I needed and found it was on discount. The website worked well on my phone. I just wish that a cheaper two day shopping option like Amazon Prime existed. $59.00 just to get my lens in a reasonable amount of time is a stretch, especially when an entire prime membership is only ninety nine.

I ordered a Canon 6D Mark II on 2/19/19. Their import version was several hundred cheaper than the USA model from competing online retailers. I've bought imports before, so I know that there is no warranty or support from Canon. That's totally fine. This is meant to be a backup camera in my bag. The day after I ordered, I received an email from Jeff to "confirm" my order. When I called on 2/20/19 I was expecting the bait and switch I read so much about through these online reviews. Honestly, there wasn't one. He said he would "send it right out". He did ask me if I wanted a 2 hour or 5 hour battery though. That was weird. :\ I just said to send it out with what it comes with, and he said ok.

I was looking to upgrade my Nikon D5100 to the D5600 and found an awesome price at Abe’s Presidents Day Sale. I understood that it was for the camera body only. Hence, the rock bottom price. I didn’t need any batteries or cards because the D5100’s are fully interchangeable. Admittedly, the EL EN 14A has a higher capacity, but I have four EL EN 14’s and do not need the upgrade. The day after my order was placed, I get the call from Adam. He is going to process the order right away, but do I have the “special” SD card? Yes. I knew I didn’t need a special card. Well, which battery do I want? Oh, is the battery included? (I knew it wasn’t). "Well, no but since you are financing this at no interest, you might as well buy the battery now." No thank you Adam. Pays to do your homework when you deal with this company! I have never received a follow up call from Amazon or Best Buy when ordering electronics and I did not appreciate this one!

I purchase a TV online since the price seems too good to be true, was told to call as many before me were told to do to confirm order, when I called they told me there was a $250 shipping and insurance cost to Florida. Guy I talked and talked to was a total jerk, told me that is just the way it is. It didn't arrive within a couple of weeks so I contacted customer service via email but never heard back from them so have re-ordered the camera. Hope I get it this time!

I bought a camera from Abe's of Maine online February 1st. Unfortunately I did not look at the reviews at DPReview (a camera site) and Consumer Reports. Abe's of Maine (in New Jersey) has a history of doing bait and switch. According to multiple customer reports, and also my experience, when you buy something online you get an email saying that the purchase needs to be confirmed by calling them on the phone. It is in that phone conversation that the bait and switch happens. A camera I bought online went up $250 dollars when I spoke to their representative on the phone. While the ad on their website did not indicate this in any way, the rep told me the price I paid was for the camera- but not the battery, the charger or the strap. He said if he sent me the camera at the price I paid I would not be able to use it because it would not have a battery. The cost for the battery, charger and strap, not surprisingly, took it to full retail cost.

I would never do business with Abe's of Maine again. Despite numerous attempts to contact their "customer service" department, they never answered the phone or replied to my online requests for help. I ordered it online partly because they advertised free shipping. But after I placed the order, they called to say there was a $200 "shipping insurance" that increased the cost. When I balked at this, they said that because I am older than 65, they would provide "white glove" delivery where they would set up and connect my TV for me.

I don't know how I came across your website but I sure am happy I did. I usually shop at B&H but you certainly have stopped me in my tracks. From now on your business will be a go to first for me. Thanks so much.

After shopping for a new TV, I found the model I wanted listed on Abe’s of Maine for $400 cheaper than any other outlet. Thinking I'd found a great deal, I made the purchase online. Forty-five minutes later, I receive a call from a NJ number (not Maine...WTF?) wanting to go over my order. First, they wanted to verify I had made the order (fair enough, but a tactic used to get you in the habit of saying "yes"). Next, the sales rep explains there will be a $26 shipping and insurance fee associated with my purchase. This frustrates me a bit because the online checkout said free shipping. I explain this to the sales rep, and he tells me that it's clearly stated on their website via a map of the states that require a shipping and insurance fee.

I purchased a Canon R full-frame, body-only camera 2 days ago from Abe's of Maine and received it today. Really fast service. I saw the price was under what Best Buy, Amazon & B&H were selling it for. I called and asked Jennifer if that price was a gray market camera, she it was. I told her I wasn't interested, then she told me she can sell me that camera with everything that comes with the U.S. warranty and gave me a price still lower than the stores I mentioned. I emphasized to her that I wanted a USA warranty. When I got the camera today, I noticed the box had been open and some new tape over the old tape that was broken. There is both English and some Asian language on the box.

Here is the deal. If you make an online purchase for a TV it will not be charged or shipped until you call them for online verification. When you call they will tell you that shipping is free but there is a charge for insurance. They will say something like the insurance charge is thirty-two fifty. They will throw in "white glove delivery service" to make you feel good. They will send a confirmation e-mail. The confirmation e-mail will show the insurance charge of $320.50. Which cannot in the worst of the English language be pronounced thirty-two fifty.

Junk. Do not buy from them. Bait and switch. Garbage camera. Not even an American charger, half the box is in Chinese, UPC code and Model Number do not match up with American model. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Tons of fake reviews created from a script.

I purchased an LG TV with extended warranty from Abe's. After a couple of months the TV was out of sync with the LG sound bar I purchased from Best Buy. I contacted Lisa from Abe's customer service who informed me to call LG since it's still under the initial warranty. Upon contacting LG and spending hours on the phone with them, they informed me that since Abe's is not an authorized dealer, LG would not honor the initial warranty. I called back Lisa who told me she has never heard of this, since they sell numerous LG TVs. I then had the sound bar tested from LG (since I purchased it from an authorized dealer) and it came back as no problem found. I then called the company that the extended warranty was purchased from, (who I thought was LG) to find that they won’t honor their warranty until the 1st year original warranty expires.

I call about 6 times from yesterday and today combine and nobody could help me. I was being transfer to different departments and then they would hang up on me. So I decided to buy the TV I wanted in full.

I tried to put a camera on your 12 month credit but it kept saying confirmation failed in the last step. I tried this several times and don't understand why it kept saying failed because I know I have excellent credit. So, I was unable to put it on your credit. I then called and got transferred and no one ever picked up so I eventually hung up. I then called after my work at a lil' before 7 pm Eastern Standard time and it said that you were open to 9 pm but then evidently you weren't open, or at least not taking calls. I gave up and am now trying to just pay for it on another Visa. Also, it been nice to have a Paypal option since evidently the other options I pursued with your financing didn't work.

Online shopping was easy. When I called customer service/sales rep was so so. Customer service/sales can learn to be more pleasant on the phone. Hopefully my orders arrives quickly and not damaged. I would be happy to write a review once I receive my packages.

Jeff informed me that the insurance was $39. The shipping was free then to my surprise a charge of $388 appeared. The “customer service” guy told me to read their website. Really, the other thing is that if you refuse the order they charge you $200 each way plus restocking.

Abe's of Maine (sales associate Jeff **) deliberately added an arbitrary charge of $350 to the camera that my wife tried to purchase. When we tried to get them to clarify the charge, Jeff ** was indifferent at first, then rude. They are now trying to add a 15% restocking fee before the item is even shipped.

I purchased a Canon 80D from Abe's of Maine. During the first month, I started seeing error messages (unspecified error, no photo taken). When I contacted Abe's customer service, they told me it is in the first year, so, even though I purchased a five-year warranty from Abe's, they told me to go to Canon, since the camera is under warranty from them for the first year. What they NEVER told me, however, is that they had sold me a gray-market camera, which does not have a US warranty. So Canon won't fix it without a $220 charge, and Abe's of Maine customer service never even answers their phone or returns messages. It is almost impossible to get a human on the phone, and when you do, they put you in the Customer Service voicemail box.

I was replacing a lens I had damaged that was not worth the cost, time, or effort to "fix". Purchasing the new lens was very was easy and painless. Website was easy to move around in. The price for the lens I purchased was unbelievable. Much better that B&H, Amazon, and Walmart. I'll look at you first when I need new camera equipment.

Bough a camera. This was my first time shopping here. I was a little hesitant because I was not familiar with the company. Website navigation and checkout were both very easy. As long as I get my item in a reasonable time, I will shop here again.

Ordered an LG OLED TV for $1898 with no shipping charges or tax. Had to call customer service about a small issue and was told there would be a $388 charge for Insurance because of "oversized item". I protested and asked to cancel the order. Was offered $100 off, then $150 off but still the Insurance charge. I cancelled the order. Had a call today telling me that the insurance charge would be "waived" but I refused to deal with this company! I would suggest that online buyers carefully read reviews of this company before making a purchase!

It's been a while since I ordered with Abe's, but you had a nice price on the LG OLED 77" TV I just ordered. Crossing my fingers it arrives intact due to the size and weight. Looking forward to this new viewing experience.

Looking specifically for Sony z9d. I know this is a 2016 TV but it is still as near to perfect as an LED can be. Still stacks up very nicely to the 2017 and 2018 models released. Abe's is the only authorized dealer in the nation with item still in stock.
