Ground shipment is via UPS. UPS breaks too many parcels. Items are frequently received in mashed and distorted boxes. Abe's shipping costs are too high for USPS Priority Mail. Difference between UPS and Abe's charges must be for extra profit. Don't like being called after a purchase so I cancelled the order.

Abe's of Maine website and online access was easy to use and navigate. They have all the brands I was looking for and pricing was competitive. I had previously used them and decided to give them another chance to fulfill my tv needs.

Their website was easy to navigate and compare products. I was looking for a Nikon D750 and I found it easily and appreciated the ease in which I could order. This is my first time visiting their site and look forward to doing good honest business in the future.

I tried 7 times to get in touch with customer services, many times the phone went dead when someone picked up. When I did reach CS I got the run around and took multiple attempts to straighten the problem out. I had a defective Nikon D500 "new" camera. I am currently on hold for 10+ minutes and just went dead again after it said please hold. I have learned my lesson and will NEVER use this poorly run company again. I suggest you find someone else with better customer care as well.

You had the lowest price on a replacement for my Google Pixel, so you got my business. I shopped several other sources, and you were the cheapest here and on Amazon. But, it was cheaper at your store than it was on Amazon. Probably because of the shipping.

I've read a number of reviews concerning Abe's of Maine which have caused some concerns. I'm hoping to have a positive experience. Website was easy to navigate and the price is reasonable for what appears to be an international version of the lens.

Read the fine print. They said they would send ‘retail packaged’ camera and lens. Suddenly the price jumped 30%. Camera and box had differing S/N’s. Box was for a camera kit when my order was only for the body. The lens was a separate purchase. Those box and lens S/N’s matched. Neither had Nikon warranty paperwork. I got “Gray Market” equipment Nikon cannot warranty or repair in the future. I should have spent the extra $150 I ‘saved’ and bought elsewhere. Sending this order back would incur a $405 restocking fee, plus shipping costs. Buried way down in their policies paperwork they mention they are not authorized sellers for Nikon, Canon, Minolta, and many other brands of various electronics. So, I’m stuck with this “pig in a poke” purchase. Be wary when dealing with them.

Great price on Nikon DSLR camera and lens... $175 cheaper than competitors! Shopping experience was simple. My only problem was that the website has no information about the lens. I had to download and blow up the photo of the product to see if the lens has VR, or is the cheaper non-VR model.

I am a disabled Veteran and funds are what they are. I was excited to get this camera at a great price and then minutes after I completed the transaction I received a call saying my order was complete and shipping. He then proceeded to say he was giving me a deal on a battery and other accessories, when I told him I did not have the funds for this he said, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE THE FUNDS" with a raised voice and when I stated that I just didn't all of a sudden my camera was not in stock. I told him to cancel the order. Finally he stated he was giving it to me for free. Well I called NIKON and they stated that it comes with camera anyway. I was stuck. I need the Camera for my daughter for school but I will not do business there again.

I bought a Sony TV from Abe's of Maine a long time ago when the flat screens were really expensive. They had the best price and free shipping. I shopped around for my recent purchase of a digital camera and once again they had the best deal. I read some of the reviews about Abe's of Maine, and most seemed as though people were complaining about a bad experience. After all, what were the chances I would get the exact. same. treatment.? Turns out, I did. One review stated that I would get a call from them with attempts to up-sell from what I purchased, and then be forced to either pay more or cancel my order. Some reviews even bought in, and paid the extra. Enter my gullible self. I placed the order, and eagerly awaited the confirmation that the order was shipped. I received an email, and quickly opened it to learn that I had to call to "confirm my order".

Most of the items I was looking for I was able to find at the best prices around. Expect to keep purchasing all of those items from Abe's. I was really interested in a certain camera body, and did not need a bundle. I already have the typical kit lenses, and Abe's had a great deal on the body. Actually great deals on a couple bodies, which I'll come back for later on.

So far happy with the website. Only issue is that you can't use a PO Box. I live in an apartment and would feel more secure if I was able to ship to the PO Box. This camera is a great price. Looking forward to getting it.

Overall I had a good experience. My frustration is with the lack of information about how long the various shipping options would take. I had an option for free ground shipping, but I couldn't find any information about how long it would take, I need this to be delivered within a week. I ended up paying substantially more for "select 3 day" to hopefully guarantee I receive it on time. If paying the extra money wasn't necessary I would have liked to know that.

Online Nikon Camera Body only -- great price and better than Amazon & eBay for quality. One minor observation: was not able to ADD a Nikon Strap if not shipped with camera, there was NO details, and I was only looking for a Camera Body for my daughter's business. Having all Nikon DSL FX cameras and lens, this was a needed item for her use at Military/Family/Weddings etc functions needing 2 cameras at arm's length to ensure the best possible photo shoot. I shall be back for more in the future.

The price for the TV was good with free shipping. But must pay insurance $300 and has taken 15 days to get. The shipping company is poor. Not any real tracking and very poor communication in replying to email and they don't answer the phone. Extended warranty the company Abe's use is the worst as I have never seen such poor rating at BBB and the comments all the same bad. Abe's is also not responsive after they sell and they push you like a used car salesman. Good price maybe but worry about warranty and shipping time. We to pay a bit more is worth the money. I hope I don't have any issues with the TV or I am screwed.

Abe's of Maine prices seem much lower than anyone else but that's because you don't get the camera you purchase. Just before delivery they call you to say that camera is on back order and you have to buy the whole kit. This is especially true if you're buying a body only. This happened to me twice but I'd forgotten or they were operating under a different name. They had me in their database. I managed to get them down to $30 above the original price but that was after much effort on my part. The kits may be a good deal for a novice photographer who doesn't have much but it's not an ethical way to do business.

I have purchased various items from Abe's throughout the years. Unfortunately, my last two purchases from Abe's have been problematic. One camera, they advertise a great deal but when I order it on the phone they try to jack me up by making me buy items which normally comes with the camera such as a battery and the charger at an exorbitant cost. I wanted the camera so I complied and got everything. On this last purchase which came only a few weeks from my last one, I ordered another camera online but after waiting ten days I still saw no confirmation of having been shipped so I called. They did not ship it. They then try to sell me the charger and the battery again. I told them to send me the camera period. I will wait a couple of days and check again to see if they shipped.

Ordering is simple. Let's see what the results are once the product is delivered (and if it is delivered in a timely fashion). Price for Canon M6 body only is great. Hoping that item is fully boxed and includes standard accessories: neck strap, Canon battery & Canon charger.

Sigma lens purchase - I had no problems but I could not find a neoprene cover for this large lens so I bought it from B&H so I wasn't sure of the accuracy of your search engine. I thought you would have had such accessories because anyone buying such lens would want it.

Several days ago, I purchased a Sony XBR-65X900F television on Abe's of Maine's website. The site clearly said "Free Delivery" and, when I completed my order, I was not told that my ZIP code was excluded from that offer. Instead, my order was accepted and I was informed that delivery would be in "7 to 10 days". Today, I received email from Abe's telling me to phone their 800 number "complete your order". I called as instructed and was informed that they could not ship my order to me because my address is "not in our service area". They then made some vague offer to ship it "UPS or some way" for "at least $200". I ordered this tv from Abe's because I had good experiences with them many years ago. However, I am canceling my order and plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for their false advertising.

I needed a camera in three days and they promised they would have it to me in three days. Then two days later I get an email saying it won’t be there for seven more days. I called the company and the gentleman I spoke to was very rude and automatically said 3 to 5 business days, 3 to 5 business days. I was never told business days I was told three calendar days and that I would have it. They will lie about anything to get you to buy.

I purchased my Nikon 70-200 lens from your company over 5 years ago. I spoke with someone there and they were very helpful with the questions I had. I usually shoot landscape, however, I have recently started portrait. Which, I am in desperate need of a full frame camera. I took an equine photography workshop. I currently own the Nikon D5100, I was never aware of the huge difference a full frame camera has, until I saw the difference with another students over mine. Also, It was stated that there was no sales tax, however, I was charged.

My first time purchasing from Abe's. Seems like a great deal on the Canon 7D Mark II. Fingers crossed. Had a bit of a hard time navigating the site and finding accessories I wanted. Found a battery for the 7D but not clear if it would fit the Mark II. Other sites list it with the letter "N" as LP-E6N.

Purchased Sigma 70-200 mm 2.8 lens. I received it on Friday after trying couple of times, realized that is it jerking quite a lot. Hence called on Monday to see what are my options. They were going send return label but no email from them. Called again on Tuesday, no one is picking up at customer service. Feels like they pick it up, put on mute and then disconnect. Tried Sales extension. That guy was forwarding it to Customer support without listening to my complete question. After calling 5-6 times, he threatening it that this is America and you have to have patience and hold on line. This is not foreign country where things will have with snap. He also threaten to block my number if I call again. He is not ready to listen at all. Now have to find other ways to handle this as this is quite expensive lens. Worst experience. Never going to buy again and will also tell friends and family to avoid such crappie fraud.

Website was easy to navigate, specifications were complete, ordering was easy. Ground shipping method was not disclosed (UPS vs FEDEX), which is important to me. One of the nice things was the reasonably priced accessory bundle. The pictures of the products were clear enough to read the product details.

On May 2018 I bought through a website http://www.abesofmaine.com the Nikon D850 FX-format Digital SLR Camera Body for the published price of $3,249.00. - Order #** (5/9/2018 7:23:30 PM ET). The next day I received a phone call from sales department that because the product was the last one the price was another and adding to that there were missing parts that I have to buy and the warranty had another cost as well, so they charged me the amount of $4,499.00. - ??? So they sent me the product with a few things (not all they said) and no warranty, no memory card, etc. After I argued over the phone they sent me separately the missing parts. I called to demand a detail of the price of every item, but I´m still waiting for that!! I received different emails of this guy, Ted ** of the shop (Abe's of Maine), saying non-sense. I just want a serious customer service and some clear sold items detailed. Or I just want a refund of the difference!!

It took more than a little while to check out after registering with Abe's of Maine, finally checking out as a guest. So that was frustrating. But the deal was so good, I'm almost over it already. I will probably be back.

I ordered and paid for this item (Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens for Canon EF) online. A day or so later I received an email stating "Please call me regarding your purchase." I called and left a message and someone did return my call a day or so later. They wanted to sell me additional items that did not come with the lens. I declined the additional items, although they were pretty persistent on selling on them too and finally said they would just ship my lens. Well, as of today 6/6 I still do not have my lens and see they have sent more emails 'to call regarding my purchase'.

I assume that this is an import model given the price. I did not notice anywhere in your site that mentioned this. Otherwise, it was an easy painless experience. We'll see if I get the advertised product as promised. I'm putting faith in your online reputation.

After placing the order, I waited 3 days and then received an email requesting me to call their customer service - I did, and spoke with a guy named "Jeff", who informed me that the lens I bought was a 'non-retail version' that did NOT include the lens cap, end cap, hood, or bag that comes with the 'retail version'(!?), and asked if I wanted to upgrade for $150 (which would have brought the final price inline with the normal MSRP). I declined and found the end caps and hood for $60 combined on another website. He said fine, and he said he would place my order for shipment.

I previously ordered the 150-500mm Sigma lens. Which is now obsolete. The salesman sent me an email and when I called he explained how this was a discontinued model. He cancelled that order for me. I am now placing another order for the later model the 150-600mm lens. Abe’s of Maine has the best prices and I am looking forward to getting my new lens in the next week or two.

I ordered a camera lens. They called me and said the product does not come with lens covers or a tripod ring (the tripod ring is shown in the pictures.) The price with the items would be matching the price at B&H or Adorama as I discovered. He then threw in a free filter which had the desired result of me not completely considering what was going on. I then checked the manufacturer's website (I know - should have done that first) and discovered that Abes of Maine (located in New Jersey) was not an authorized seller of that manufacturer. I called Abes back to cancel - it had only been 15 minutes. I asked if they were an authorized seller of that manufacturer's product and, after repeating the question, admitted they are not and said they can service the product for 1 year.

I wanted to find a brand new Nikon D7500 on sale. Abe's of Maine had the cheapest price. We'll see when I get the camera but I have high hopes. The checkout process was straightforward. No issues that I found. Hopefully everything is processed and shipped in a timely manner and I get a great camera and Abe's of Maine will get a repeat customer.

I ordered a lens through this online retailer. I received a telephone call asking me about whether I wanted a version that has everything that should come with the lens or the version that has basically nothing like no hood, no tripod ring, no bag etc. I said that if that’s the case I didn’t want the lens. He then asked, “Aren’t you interested to know the price with have everything included?” I asked him how much then he said that was going to be over 500 dollars more. I said, “Cancel the order.” There was nothing on their advertisement of the lens that it was just the lens tube nothing more. What a waste of time that was. Avoid!

Only problem is if you are approved by Zigby you have to apply each time to decide to change your options instead of using one code after it's approved. Pain in the rear to have to reapply each single time you make a purchase. Otherwise great service experience overall.

Sony BRAVIA X900E Series XBR 65X900E - 65" LED Smart TV - This is the second tv that I purchased from Abe's of Maine. First time was a 55" Sharp in '08, boy the prices have dropped! BTW, I am still using this tv in my bedroom. Still beautiful picture but time but not as smart as I want. My mom just bought this tv and I have never seen such a beautiful picture. Couldn't resist. Abe's had it on sale for $1,196 brand new with free shipping. What a deal right?! I thought so. So I purchased the lens through the website. Once I submitted my card information a phone number came up stating my purchase could not go through and to call the number to verify payment. So I call the number and I am connected to a representative from Abe's of Maine. The representative never once told me what happened and why the payment didn't work, he just stated he was going to connect me to a different line. I said okay, once the representative connected me to the other line he hung up.

Very BAD & tricky vendor. I bought 86" TV online and next day received a call from sales representative trying to sell me accessories and insurance ($599). After, when he found out that I am not interested, they cancel the order.

On April 4th, I wanted to purchase a new Nikon D850. I had gotten a loan at my bank specifically for this purchase. On their site it states that "All Products include USA Manufacturer's Warranty unless otherwise stated." The website said that the camera body was in stock for the price of $3,249. Nowhere in the description of the D850 did it say ANYTHING about this camera being a non-USA model that was to be sold in Southeast Asia. The person I talked to (Jeff **) then told me that it was in fact not in stock, but I could pay more ($550 more) to get it in a kit that had extra items in it. Since the Nikon D850 was back ordered everywhere, including at Nikon USA, I decided to pay the extra for the camera body since I needed for upcoming paid jobs (I'm a professional photographer).

Looks like a great deal on a 65” TV BUT after you order you will be notified that “insurance” must be added - website mentions possible insurance but since it is not included in agreed price you assume it is not required. WRONG. They called and said “insurance” was $388.00! Really reduces the bargain price and is VERY deceptive - they obviously know what the price of this alleged insurance will be and they just want to call and upsell you - turns a great experience into a terrible one. I still kept the order but the deal was not nearly as the one I agreed to online.

Tried to purchase Canon 5D Mark IV online, then “Jeff” asks me to call so I can verify the purchase. I call, he places me on hold for 5 minutes. When I call back, he places me on a hold again. Then tells me the battery doesn’t come with the camera and it would be $129 to add a battery. I say, "No thank you," he puts me on hold and when he comes back says that he can do it for $29 instead. I say, "No thank you, please cancel the order”. Jeff then insults me and says I don’t deserve to place an order. I went to a different website where they have Deals All Year long and made a purchase that I’m happy with.

Do not buy from Abe's. Their website services and practices are deceiving. They advertised a lens on sale for March Madness. Nothing in the description identifies it as a "Grey Market or International Lens." I purchased online and got a call telling me my card was declined. I have verified with my bank that the card was NEVER declined for any amount. The caller then told me the lens was not in stock but he could give me a deal on a USA lens and through in some free shipping and lens filters. These items (except for free 2 day shipping) were already included in my original purchase.

I do underwater photography and nature photography here in Florida. I didn't have a way of insuring my camera and new lens are compatible as clearly as I would like on your site. But based on your site, I feel the Sony e-mount lens was meant for the Sony a7rII camera I have purchased. It didn't say if the body included a battery, so you might indicate that for folks. The order process didn't give me a way to express these questions, as it's nearly 8:00 PM Saturday Evening eastern time, and I doubt you are open to calls at this time. I recently ordered a Sigma 24mm 1.4 Art lens. The price on the website was $659. Placed order. A few days later I got a call, to confirm my order, and was told that I ordered the international lens and it did not include lens caps hood or case that comes with the US version, and may not work with my camera (that should have sent up a red flag). I was offered the US version for $849. I reluctantly told them to upgrade (that is pretty much the going price everywhere) I told the guy on the phone that there was no indication that the lens I ordered was the international version on the page for the site. (See attached photos.)

The website shows the camera (Nikon D850) in stock, and it’s on sale for 3249.00 (47.96 discount). I go to place my order and guy is asking me if I want the 2 or 5 hour battery. I said, “Don't it come with a battery?” NO... battery and charger is extra. With battery and charger its 4200.00! I have purchased 7 Nikons new. They all come with a battery and charger. But NO LENS. So they want to charge you an extra thousand to include the battery and charger in the box. Stating that I am still saving MONEY, cause I would be paying 300-400 tax anywhere else and I get expedite shipping for free? CAN A RETAILER ACTUALLY DO THIS? I have purchased from this company in the past. Been in business with 1976. Just sad to see this kind of business. Will pay the 3299.90 at Best Buy and get it April 15th.
