Ordered a lenses in Dec. Within few days got a call - snappy gentleman clearly attempted to up sell stuff which after I declined - told me the lens is on back order - I expressed I have no problem waiting - after waiting for 2 months I checked the status and appears that order got cancelled without any warning...or notice. Very upsetting, I am ok with up selling, I am ok with rude clearly commission driven sales stuff and playing the "game" - but it is unacceptable where a seller just quietly cancels an order without any explanation.

This was a much smoother than usual transaction. Customer service was friendly, informative and very helpful. Prices are great and very competitive. I appreciate the free and fast shipping. Not having to pay sales tax is very helpful by allowing the purchase of this nice TV. Thank you very much.

So I was shopping around for an LG OLED 65" TV. I am very thorough in my searching abilities, and I come up on an ad from Abe's of Maine for $1,850 with no added taxes or shipping. That's about $150 cheaper than the average price I was seeing. Went to the site to buy it, and it said that's exactly what the price would be. During checkout there was no additional prices added whatsoever. They said something on their site about a possible insurance fee depending on where you live. Well I live in Iowa, United States. So I figured it wouldn't be too much since they're shipping from New Jersey. And all they would have to ask for is the zip code when you are at the total page and they could tell by your ZIP code if there was some kind of insurance fee to add. But why would you want to list that information if you're running a scam?

LG TV. Very easy to shop and check out as guest. Best price around for this particular tv. No taxes and free shipping make this extremely cost-effective. Will definitely keep Abe's of Maine bookmarked for any electronics purchases.

Abe's of Maine made this purchase very easy and seamless. Their pricing is the best in the country that I have found. Their service is as good as can be and we are happy. This is not my first purchase with Abe's.

So I did my research and settled on an LG oled TV. My search led me to Abe's of Maine where the tv was on sale for $200 less than my local Best Buy, with free shipping. Five minutes after my order a female rep called to inform me that I would be charged additional $180 for shipping insurance. I asked if she meant shipping, which was free at the time of purchase. She insisted that the fee was merely insurance to cover the safe delivery of the tv. I asked her why I needed to pay such a ridiculous amount for insurance, and why the safe delivery of the merchandise to my house wasn't Abe's' responsibility. At this point she offered to refund my money and cancel the purchase which I accepted. I have never felt treated so dishonestly. I am not sure what kind of scam Abe's is into, but it sure sounded fishy and quite inappropriate to treat customers in such fashion. I will never buy from them again.

Hands down the most dishonest company I've ever ordered from. Obviously a reason they got banned from the BBB. Straight from the BBB.org site - "this company's membership in the Metropolitan New York BBB was revoked by our BBB's Board of Directors due to the company’s repeated and unauthorized use of the BBB logo and failure to eliminate the underlying cause of complaints on file concerning: non-delivery of products, misrepresentation of availability of merchandise, refusal to honor cancellations or provide timely refunds, unprofessional conduct, failure to resolve customer complaints, overcharging, undisclosed cancellation of orders, improper upselling tactics, and bait & switch selling."

Easy to order and fair price. I ordered the Canon 24-70mm Telephoto lens, F2.8. I have other Canon lenses including a 70-200mm telephoto and a kit lens 18-55 but it is only f3.5. So far all these lenses have been very good. Hopefully this ordered lens will fit my Canon slr1.

Abe's had the best price for a 65" LG Oled TV. No Tax, No Delivery charge. Then they talked me into their white glove delivery option for over $300 extra, claiming that that was the only way to assure that I wouldn't accept delivery of a damaged TV. I stupidly agreed and later changed my mind. I called back and asked them to cancel the white glove nonsense. They said it was "too late" it had already been charged. Turns out "white glove" was two guy who brought the tv into the house, pulled the box cover off and plugged it in. That's it. About 90 seconds. They didn't unbox it or assemble it, just left me with a boxed tv. There's your white glove. So I paid about 2200.00 for the advertised 1750.00 TV. My fault for being conned by those douche-bags at Abe's. Buyer beware. I could have bought it from my local dealer for less money.

I ordered several items over the years with them and NEVER had an issue. Their prices & service is top notch. They do a huge volume, hence the low prices. Several of my friends order from them as well. They also have an excellent record with Consumer Affairs. Check it out if you like.

Order TV. The checkout process was direct, easy and quick. I found them online through Google, clicked on what I wanted and within minutes ordered what I wanted. The entire process was easy, except for this part, which I would rather not do.

Too good to be True. Glad I found this review website. Abe has an expensive Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses listed for $2,149. List price for this lens is $2,598 from all companies listed on Amazon. Unlike Amazon, Abe does not have to charge a sales tax in states where it does have a store, which is another savings around $225. Resulting in a Total Savings would be around $774. The Sony lens they advertise for $2,149 has the same part number, so it looks legit from that stand point.

I've been investigating full frame digital cameras for a while. Abes of Maine had the best value for the Canon EOS R with lens and accessories. I'll be back for other products. Prices were better than those of competitors and kits included other items. Overall, a great value.

I don't like Ripoffs, and these people are Ripoffs. They have somehow inserted fraudulent reviews to camouflage their "F" (fail) rating from the Better Business Bureau. Word to the Wise: Avoid this company at all costs. I didn't, because the camera I wanted (Canon 7d Mark 11) was sold out everywhere, yet Abe's had it in stock. When they tried to upsell me on the USA warranty for only $168 more, I said sure. Naturally, the camera arrived without warranty cards because (I found out later) Abe's is not an authorized Canon reseller.

Great prices but descriptions of products are lacking. Something causes me to feel like this site is a bit shady. Not sure what it is and this may seem a bit unfair as a review since I have no reason to assume so...yet. I gave it 5 stars because of the prices but have yet to see if the 1 star reviews are valid. Wanted to buy a digital slr for a Christmas present. Online ordering did not provide any information about how long the shipment would take or whether it would arrive in time so I called the toll free number. AFter waiting on hold for ten minutes I spoke to an agent who assured me that it would arrive in time and to place the order online for fastest service. I placed the order. Two days later I got an email asking me to call them to confirm the order. The person who answered was incredibly rude and said that he would ship it out and it would take 7-10 days. I asked why the hold up and why didn't they call me to confirm. He said "I don't need to call you" and he offered to cancel the order. Which I did. NEVER AGAIN! Have never had such a bad experience with an online retailer.

I ordered a Nikon D750 Body only camera a few days ago from Abe's of Maine. I checked the listing to see "What's Included" & Abe's of Maine's website clearly stated battery & charger were included. 3 days after I ordered I received an email from Abe's of Maine's customer service dept. asking me to call. They told me the camera I ordered only includes the body no charger, a battery that only lasts 30 minutes (?) & didn't include WiFi (does Nikon even make a D750 w/out WiFi?) Then "Ted" offered to up-sell me on a package that includes these additional products for a few hundred dollars more. I said, "No. I'd rather just cancel my order".

I placed an order with Abe's of Maine for a Canon camera because it was the best non-international price on the internet. I read every piece of fine print to make sure it wasn't an international version and it didn't indicate that it was. Two days after they took my credit card information and confirmed my order, they contacted me which surprised me cause, that only happens when there is a problem. They said there wasn't a problem and just wanted to make sure I knew I'd purchased the international version which has no warranty, no battery, and no charger.

On Black Friday I found my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 II lens for the remarkably low price of $1369.00 at Abe’s of Maine. What an awesome deal I thought, $530.00 off normal price! I placed my order online and was stoked to get my first L series lens. Fast forward to Saturday evening I get a call at 7:00 eastern time. It’s Adam at Abe’s. He wants to confirm that I want the non-U.S. version of the lens, or for an extra $300.00 I can upgrade to the U.S. version with a third party warranty, and some filters. Something didn’t feel right in my gut, and I told Adam “this seems sketchy”. He continued to tell me how good of a deal this is, and the third party warranty company is the best. I explained that I had planned to purchase a Canon CarePAK warranty, and he informed me that I don’t need that. He continued to haggle and dropped the price to $1550.00 with the warranty. Long story short I cancelled the purchase.

Contacted AOM regarding the new Sony A7R4 camera. Because this was a very expensive camera their prices were competitive and listed far below other major online retailers. I had read a lot of negative reviews about AOM's practice of calling customers once an online order is submitted. The customer complaints have pointed out that the calls were to pressure the customer into more expensive options/products. This is absolutely true as I experienced this myself when calling them to place a verbal order.

This is one the worst retail experiences I've ever had. I didn't think retailers like this existed still. They upsold me on some bogus shipping charges and insurance which wasn't even real. I tried to cancel the product and found out it would cost nearly $900. Just really bad. I don't care what the discount is DO NOT SHOP HERE. Also, I'm pretty sure there's some sketchy stuff going on with the product registration. They registered my TV before I even received it and I have no idea what is going on with that. I repeat they registered my product not myself. And they provided the retailer as Amazon. Which I still don't understand what's going on with that.

To verify my claim, please call Nikon USA. I bought a camera from Abe's of Maine over a year ago. I was having issues with my Nikon, I called Nikon USA and gave them the serial number of my camera they said we don't even have your camera on file. Why would Abe's of Maine sell European models which are also known as a Gray market cameras that are made for European consumers. I'm save you the headache. Go to B and H photo or Adorama, I don't work for either of those companies. Please call Nikon like I did for yourself to verify my post. Why in the world they're selling Gray Market Nikon when you are in the United States.

Over the years I have purchased many products of all types and price range from online stores ... including four large screen HDTVs. While 99% of these experiences have been great, I was disappointed with my recent purchase experience of a Sony XBR-65X950G from Abe's of Maine. Several days after completing the online transaction, at what I thought was a good price, I received an email asking me to call to "confirm the details of the delivery". When I called, I found out that the real objective of this call was to bully and intimidate me into purchasing white glove delivery and an extended warranty.

I purchased a Canon 6D mark iv from Abe's of Maine. I thought I was getting an amazing deal till I received a phone call. I was told that I choose the European version of the camera and not the US Version. It did not state that when I was shopping for my product! I was also told that my camera would not come with a battery, charger, camera strap, or a cap to protect the camera. I instantly panicked and change my order without hesitation.

Got a good deal though Abe's of Maine for a Canon SX70 HS... Now I know why. The camera went dead just two weeks after purchasing it, so I sent it off to Canon for a warranty repair. Canon informed me that based on the serial number the camera is intended for sale in another country/region, and not the United States. Because it's not intended for sale in the US, they wouldn't honor the warranty. So instead of getting a warranty repair, I'm being charged $350 dollars for a camera purchased two weeks ago. I feel like I was scammed.

Your product descriptions fail to differentiate between FX and DX Nikon lenses. Of course DX lenses will work on FX, but not the same. I would like to see FX in the lens title. Something Amazon is good at. Your pricing is very good.

Sigma 17-50mm F/2.8 EX Dc Os HSM Lens Canon. This is a great price and customer service. This is a lens I have been looking as an upgrade for my Canon EOS Rebel T6i. I have been using the stock Canon EFS 18-55 mm and found it lacking for use as a video camera. I'm really looking forward to trying this out.

Within 3 minutes of the order, I received a call from a sales rep offering a factory warranty, original packaging, lens case and a lens hood. "Normal" price is $300 but today he would sell it to me for $150. When I told him no thanks, he said he could do it for $99. I asked him to call me back in a few minutes so I could think about it. Sigma Art 20 mm f/1.4 lens for Canon. Website is easy to navigate. Good description of product. Used a similar wide angle lens for astronomy and wanted my own. I purchased a Nikon D810 from Abe’s of Maine a few years back and purchased the extended accidental warranty thinking that if anything were to happen to my camera that the accidental damage warranty would cover the repair or replacement. Sure enough my camera fell to the ground and damaged it enough to have a soft focus. When I went to make a claim they told me that it wouldn't be covered due to my camera strap being faulty. Please! I warn you against this company and instead choose an an authorized dealer to purchase the camera from. I've learned my lesson and wish I would have read the reviews for this company ahead of time. Don't make my same mistake!

I ordered a Nikon Z7 with the FTZ online for $2800. A good deal. I get a call the next morning from the sales guy named Jeff. He starts the upsale. NO problems with that, but I think the only time this guy is not lying is when his mouth is shut. Needless to say that the camera price increased a few hundred dollars when I received the receipt. Hmm. I asked about pricing and he stated that I ordered the "Retail Package". You know, the one that comes with the strap, eye piece, battery and instruction manual. Geez. I immediately stated that I wanted to cancel the order and I even sent an email 2 different times during the day to do so. Oh no, it had shipped already and that was before 1 PM EST. Miraculously in 1 hr UPS had picked it up. That was just part of a chain of lies. UPS actually picked it up after 7 PM EST.

A friend ordered a gift for someone who past away suddenly and now needed to return the item. The sales person named Steve verbally assaults you right away by saying that your are mental or not right in the head for trying to ask about speaking to someone. It is stated in the return policy that you need to obtain an RMA# which is needed for a return, after calling to try to speak with someone else he stated "I got your # on caller ID" and thereafter proceeded to hang up repeatedly. Mind you there is a 14 day window to return item for refund. Basically you are not entitled to a refund and they will charge you anyway. The item was well over $1000 and would have been appreciated by our friend who suddenly died. Don't purchase from this company. They have no scruples.

Long story short, I gave in and paid the extra $100 for the battery and charger. I then came to this website to take a look at the reviews and multiple different people have the same exact situation. I called back and told them I want to cancel the purchase because they are a fraud company and they hung up, further proving that they are a scam. I called my credit card company and told them I need to cancel a purchase and then called Abe’s back to tell them yet again to cancel my purchase, and they hung up AGAIN.
