Found an attractive deal on Presidents Day sale and ordered a Camera. Just like others say here I got an email from Abe's of Maine to call the same old Ted at an extension. Put me on hold several times and tried up-selling batteries and other stuff - even though the batteries, lens cover, straps, etc., comes with the box. I didn't want to deal with such a seller while paying 1000s of dollars. Just called the sales and cancelled my order. Now I have to watch that they do not charge my credit card. This is a real headache. - Frustrated.

I bought a camera years ago and had a great experience then as well as now. Great prices and quality products. My only comment was that I would like to have know "what's in the box" as with some other sites. I was able to cross-reference the part number to find that on another site so I did finally find out. Thank you so much, I have been shopping for this camera for a long time.

Purchased a Nikon D750 (price seemed way too good to be true) on their website. I get an email saying I need to call them. After calling them, and having an incredibly frustrating and upsetting conversation with "Ted", which was riddled with one line quips and jabs (that sound like he's rehearsed and said them a hundred times before), I find out that the camera is not a US model, all of the language in the camera is supposedly in Korean and it does not include a charger or battery. He upsells me on buying a US model with battery and charger. He then tells me that he has to authorize my card, comes back and says my bank has put a hold on it... Maybe because it was such a big amount... I tell him, not there is no hold.

Before I ordered I called to verify that the Canon EOS 77D camera contained a battery and charger - it did not. The website says that all manufacturer's items are included, BUT... not for the lower priced items. I was told it would cost an additional $150 for the battery and charger. The camera is a "grey" model and does not contain a serial number. You may have difficulty getting it repaired if needed. Typical bait and switch.

It is an easy to use the website and was straightforawrd to make my purchase. But the true proof how satisfied I will be will be when the delivered product has been delivered and I've set it up. I'll update this review at that point if needed.

First try. I am looking to purchase a larger item next month, and this is just a test to see how well you guys do at filling and shipping an order, I am especially interested to see if tax is added to orders, because it makes a deal breaking item for larger purchases.

It seems so far to be a great place to purchase, the prices are very good and free shipping and no tax. Great saving. I just hope delivery goes off without a hitch, I do have a problem as far as their policy. I am not always available at time of delivery and if it is signed and not inspected and it is damaged I am out 1300.00. Not to keen on that idea. We will see.

Super easy check out with 6 month no interest financing. Best price found online for a new Canon 6D Mark II camera body. Originally was going to purchase thru a big box store and take advantage of their no interest financing, but Abe's price is approximately $400 cheaper. Wish I had found this site months ago. I can't wait for it to arrive!

Seems too good to be true, a Panasonic HC-X1000 for 30% less than Amazon! With 6 months free financing, I'm in! Hopefully not a scam. Even if it comes without a battery, like some people warned about other cameras, I can still pick one up at Amazon and save hundreds.

Purchased a Canon 5D Mark IV on their website. I get an email saying I need to call them. After calling them I find out that the camera is not a US model and that it does not include a charger or battery. They upsell me on buying a US model. I tell them, "No, I want what I purchased." They said it will be shipped. I get another email 1 week later and it's the same conversation, upsell. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! They are a scam!!!

Tried to purchase a Canon 5D IV, credit was approved, but insisted on confirmation call. Which I know was a tactic to get me to upgrade for deficiencies in my purchase. I do not understand your sales approach. Reminds me of all the schlock houses in New York City.

Abe's of Maine listed a killer deal for a brand new Sony FS7. Placed an order around midnight while online shopping. Around 9 AM I got a call from a sales rep asking if I wanted the 2 hr battery or the 5 hr battery. Was confused by this question as a current FS7 owner because I know it comes with a battery. Then he asked me if I wanted the US version or the Japanese version. Of course I want the US version with English lettering on the body. He says that will be an extra $700 for the US version. He told me I had ordered the Japanese version without a charger, battery and other accessories. I told him I'd call back. Checked the website again. There is NO INDICATION on the website that the version they're selling is not the US full kit, as would be expected.

They were very helpful and the only store that had what I needed in stock. Would recommend checking them out. Great service and pricing. Will be shopping here again. Thank you for all of the help. Can’t wait to receive my new camera this week. Just have to wait.

I recently attempted to purchase a Canon lens that was priced significantly lower than all other competitors. As has happened on another occasion, the sales rep, Joseph **, called me to ask if I wanted the foreign model or the U.S. model. When I inquired about the difference I was told that the foreign model did not come with lens caps or a lens hood and that the foreign model is made in China, not Japan and would be a lesser quality lens. BS!

Purchased a camera online then received numerous phone calls and email from Abe's of Maine stating that the camera doesn't come with a battery or battery charger. Seriously? I'm a professional photographer and I have purchased cameras for decades - they all included a battery and charger - so this is obviously a scam used by this company to increase profits. Shame on Abe's of Maine for this unscrupulous practice. B&H and other retailers are much better choices for your business.

Question was answered promptly after a 4 minute wait on the phone. The background music was barely audible and seemed to fade in and out. Just wanted to check if my Nikon D5100 could use the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens. The clerk was polite.

Best price on the web for item purchased. Found multiple promo codes to bring price down lower, but unable to use any of them. Still best price on the web, so not complaining. However 5% off of already low price would have been sweet, would have paid for 2 day shipping... Will update review when product is received.

I have bought from you in the past, but you could not find any history of me. So I had to reapply as a customer. You cited any coupon I tried as invalid. After submitting my credit card info, you ask me to call a number and give more info. Took a long time to buy a LG OLED TV.

2/1/2018 I ordered Sony A7s camera from http://www.abesofmaine.com. A day later I received email from them asking to call sale department. A salesperson tried to sell me a pack of additional batteries for the camera. I told him I do not need more than one battery. And this is when salesperson told me that camera does not come with battery or accessories. I asked why, and he told me that this is a camera that intended to be sold outside of US. Not a single mentioning about this on website or during online ordering.

My experience was awesome! I was able to find the lens I was looking for and got a good deal on it. I am looking forward to lots of landscape shooting with this new Sigma 12-24mm ART lens and seeing what kind of amazing Sunset and Sunrise shots I can take with it.

I needed a Canon 35mm lens for my Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Abe's of Maine had a good price so I placed an online order with them. Their order reviews looked pretty good. I got an email stating I needed to call to confirm a few things about my order. When I called and spoke with Jeff he said the lens I ordered was just the lens. No lens covers, no bag, no hood. Just the lens. If I wanted the "retail packaging" it would be another $180. This was about the same price as other places so I canceled my order with Abe's of Maine and ordered it from another shop. Too bad for Abe's. I am also about to order the 50mm lens. That will definitely go to another shop also. This is just bad business.

When someone finally answered they could not answer my question so they took my name and told me that someone would call me back in 15 -20 minutes. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for the call back I called again and was able to get my question answered.

I tried to call the 1800 number for a while but it was continuously busy. The website is good. I wanted to get an extra battery for the D850 but there was no easy way to do that online. Have ordered it to be shipped by air for next day delivery. Waiting to see how it works out.

Ordered a projector from their website and two days later called in to check on the status because I haven't received any update via email on the order. How fortunately I was by calling them! I found out that the one listed on their website was a grey market item, with no US warranty, but this info was not listed on their website. The item is listed as "New" with exactly same model number as listed on manufacturer website.

LG OLED TV 65 c7 - Just ordered this TV but purchased another TV 3 years ago from your company. The other was a Samsung smart 42 inch TV which has performed very well for me. I was trying to get through to a rep for over an hour. I finally was placed on hold. Waited 32 minutes for someone to answer. Then told I have wrong department. Took another 30 mins to get the correct person to answer my questions.

I ordered a lens from you because some of the other contractors made it too difficult to search and the price was too high. I found myself viewing way too many screens. Quite frustrating. You folks keep up the good work and it should result in many repeat customers.

Ordered a camera in retail box from Abe's. Got the camera with the Sony provided components. But got a call before shipping from sales suggesting I get an extra battery and charger. So I went from 849 to $918 expecting I would now have two batteries and two chargers. Not so. They explained that the $849 was for the body only. Now, I don't know how you could sell a retail camera system which clearly lists the components including camera, battery and charger without the components. This is just a trick. So if Abe's calls you back suggesting you add some parts... forget it. That's their opening to jack up the charges. Won't be going there anymore!

Okay, in my original review, I gave Abe's of Maine a good review. After talking to some people who advised me to use caution, I gave Abe"s a call in regards to my order of a Nikon D850. This is where the trouble started and how Abe's skirts the letter of the law. When they advertise a price as they did with the Nikon D850 they state "BODY ONLY". Now that really isn't an issue because every single company out there that sells camera bodies only still gives you a factory box, strap, battery, charger manuals etc. In other words, everything from the factory, right? I've bought dozens of camera bodies over the years to know what a "Body only" comes with. Guess what? Abe's does not!! This is what they must do behind your back: They take the camera out of the factory box and that's all you get!! See, this is where Abe's skirts the law.

I am blown away with the pricing/$$$ savings by buying from Abe's of Maine. I must say that I am a little skeptical because the price is so much lower than anywhere else that I have shopped online. I hope this is not too good to be true.

I ordered online a Zeiss Batis lens from this company advertise online on sale, I received an email followed by a message on my telephone on New Year’s Day January 1, 2018 stating to call them back to complete the purchase, from JEFF **. I did call back and spoke to Jeff **. He tried to sell the lens for more money. In his statements for the advertised price, it only comes with the lens and nothing else, no lens hood and case (which normally comes in the box when purchasing a new Zeiss lens).

I would have bought many more accessories (backup batteries, memory cards, etc.) had more been available. Also, I would like to see more detailed product descriptions, both in specifications and in what all is included with each item (e.g. lens hood, flash unit, battery recharger, etc.). LG 86SJ9570: We were hesitant to order from this company based upon the reviews. Minutes after the order was submitted my wife called to confirm the order and correct a zip code typo. She was immediately told that the unit was a "foreign" unit, but Abe's would sell us the American unit, take care of shipping and throw in a free wall mount for an additional $900,00. I told my wife to cancel the order. The salesperson wanted to speak to me. I told her that everything in the negative reviews was true and I was not going to waste my time. He then told my wife I didn't have the balls to talk to him! Every negative thing we read about Abe's of Maine appears to be true. STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY. RIPOFF AND RUDE. BAIT AND SWITCH. WOULD MAKE A GREAT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

You have already bought the perfect Samsung television for your family and just need that perfect accessory to complete the entertainment experience. Abe's of Maine's solid reputation and ability to offer customized accessories for the movie and audio enthusiast got my attention particularly with the Samsung 2.1-Channel Soundbar w/ 6-1/2" Wireless Subwoofer.

Pleased - though I would have liked to know ALL costs up front. Delivery occurred ahead of schedule, both arrived on the day earlier, and arrived an hour earlier than told the arrival window would be the day before (which was slightly inconvenient, hence the -1 star).

Recently bought a Canon Rebel T7i based on low price (a mistake). After the order was placed my wife was pressured to add a retail kit (turns out this all actually comes together in one box). When the camera was received it had no warranty information and it was labelled differently (an 800D). A phone call to Abe's was unsatisfactory so called Canon who explained that this camera came from the UK and would have to be returned there for any problems. They also said that Abe's was NOT a licensed Canon dealer (so buyer beware).

Canon EOS Rebel T7i DSLR Camera - I normally don't do any internet shopping but this camera caught my eye. I ordered it and with fast shipping I got it within days. Great encounter with this company. I bought a few electronics and everything works perfectly! The items were reasonably priced and came packaged securely and came on the time.I was pleased with everything I bought and will be ordering from this company again.

Ordered a Canon 1.2 50mm lens. Prices was the best from all sites. They soon called me that "I ordered the international version" and "if I pay an upgrade fee they can get me the US version". This upsell technique is repulsive, but whatever. I said that I didn't need it, just send me the one I ordered. In a few days another sales rep called to let me know that they "don't have the international version in stock" and I should really pay the up-charge to make sure I get the shipment for Christmas. This is now borderline extorsion... by the way, I checked even today and they had the same lens still as "in stock" for the "international" price. This shop is a sham and extortive. Caveat Emptor. I was promised the lens to be delivered two weeks from Nov 24 and still have not received it, furthermore, I tried calling several times and now I can't even get through to anyone. Now I am cancelling and will never use this shop.

Website suggested several SDHC cards for purchase, but did not provide the best choices for this camera (Fujifilm x-t2 camera). Overall purchase experience was satisfactory. The site is well organized and gives good item description and they offered warranty and their products. I ended up using Abe's of Maine to purchase a galaxy tab 10 for my nephew. It's an agent from not-so-honest Abe's of Maine to confirm my purchase and tell me I had to purchase mandatory shipping "insurance" even though the receipt and their website stated FREE SHIPPING. They push this "white glove" service for $300.

Well, I got conned right along with every other of these one star reviews. Order a Panasonic AG-UX90PJ off the website and had the price go up to add the battery and charger. Rolled with it because my order was already in process and wanted the gear. Received a Panasonic AG-UX90ED which only shoots 25 or 50 frames per second. Not the camera I ordered so I wanted to return it immediately.

I just placed an order (**) for a Canon camera and lens. However when I checked out it did not give me the option to take advantage of the 6 month 0% financing. I want the financing option. Else I would like to cancel the order.

Originally I was disappointed with the lack of communication I received from this company. One of the employees (Eric) called and offered a partial refund and a copy of the owners manual to be sent since mine was missing from my order. I did get the refund credited to my account and a small version of the owner's manual (not the one I wanted), but at least an attempt was made and very much appreciated.

WOW. You just hooked a permanent customer. Prices are better than competitors and the online credit setup was fast and affordable. Instead of settling for 29 percent at another site I got a fantastic and livable 14 percent. Wish you carried camera mics but that is okay.

After I bought a tv at an admittedly very attractive price, they would not confirm the order until I paid an extra $288 for "handling and insurance". They claim that this is in the fine print and when I went back it was, although you have to click through two pages to find it. Also, they do not put a shipping and handling amount on the invoice until after you pay. Very disappointed and will not order from them again.

No warranty - I contacted LG to verify that the warranty is valid when buying from Abe's of Maine. They reported back that Abe's of Maine is not an authorized dealer and that their warranty would not be honored if purchased there. Abe's of Maine (Jeff ext **) falsely assured me the warranty was LG's and valid.

None of this is mentioned in their ad. Then Abe's calls and tells you if you want these items you have to pay $1,896. for the retail version. Note this is still NOT a US model and cannot be registered with Canon US as such. Misleading, intentionally false advertising. They call and shift to a higher price for something that should be included as standard factory accessories and you wind up paying full price for a European model or heaven knows what?

After shopping several sites, I found Abe's price to be the most fair for this product. I have been looking at this TV for sometime. They do have a limited return policy and only will accept a return if the box is damaged. In my past experience of buying TV's online always received in good order, and after looking at this set for as long as I did, don't want to return it anyway.
