I talked to one of your guys yesterday, maybe Todd/Ted. He was very nice to talk to and steered me in the right direction. I was supposed to call back and buy from him but I ran out of time. I wanted to get the order in as soon as I could this morning.

It was a good experience. I found that there were a few hiccups with the website. It cycled and returned to a spot where I didn't want to be. But otherwise it was a totally nice experience. I'm happy. I'm hoping that the follow through with shipping and delivery is just as good experience.

Ted was very informative and answered all my questions. He explained bundles and even though I spent more, I saved in the long run. I also like the fact that I didn't have to pay the 10% sales tax in Arizona. You were also the lowest price. Merry Christmas.

I had questions about the product, and called twice. Both times I was on hold for very long times before hanging up. First time, at around 10 minutes, I was offered a call-back. I didn't do that because I thought "I'm #1 in the queue, I'll get through soon." Not so. I hung after 15 min. Second time I hung up at 7 min w/out being offered a call-back. I expect waits at this busy time of year, but I recommend the call-back option much sooner.

I hope this lens works with my son's camera. This is the 2nd time I've tried to purchase it from your store. The first time, I received an order confirmation and then the next morning an order cancellation. When I called to ask what happened, I was told the lens was out of stock and that I would get an email when they were back in stock. I just happened to be checking and saw that the website again says it's in stock but I never received an email notification. I hope the purchase goes through and the lens is shipped successfully.

I needed a point & shoot camera that would fit in my pocket. My older one had fewer features that I needed and found those in the CoolPix A1000. The camera is just great. My wife liked it so much that we just ordered one for her as well.

They have one thing listed on their website then you receive a phone call saying you selected the 'international version' which 'doesn't come with warranty, camera strap, battery, or camera body cap.' I was excited about being financed through their partner so I said okay. I wish I wouldn't have because I found exactly want I wanted through a major retailer for $1,000 less.

I have been waiting for a long time to order the Fujifilm X-T4, and when I saw it was available and for $1,350 I could not resist any more. I first saw it on my phone and was thinking to wait till I get to computer to check it out, but your site was so fast and had everything I need it to know about the camera and the ordering process. If you want to buy anything from this company over the phone you need to deal with Ted. He's a total bait and switcher. The website will give you a special "deal price" to hook you, but then over the phone they will try and trick you into spending 700$ more for the same exact item, saying that the cheaper version is from China and the more expensive one is from Japan (???). Talk about false advertising!

Found the lens and bought it at a good price. Was on sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Did not know about Abe's until a link was sent by a friend who knows a lot about computers. Would come back again.

Purchased only because of price, but major hesitations and have purchased elsewhere in the past because of the 10% restocking fee clause. In this day and age, it's not common to have this for a new item. I was going to purchase from you on Amazon for the additional security, but the item was out of stock on your amazon listing.

I felt the experience to be a good one overall except for one small item. I did not feel like it was clearly indicated that the X-T4 was a white box item without the battery, charger, manuals, strap etc etc. (retail version). When I spoke to Ted/Teddy on the phone the next day, it became obvious that the price was discounted as these items were not included... and I felt duped by this almost bait and switch technique of the lower price advertised which is why I did place my order through you and not through B&H which is what I would have normally done. I feel like I got taken slightly with the lower advertised price and then having to amend the order and upgrade to the retail box which was the same price as other retailers.

I wanted to purchase a Canon 5D Mark IV. They refused to give me an itemized receipt. I was told the "pro" package had Canon items. I was told I would get lens cases with the lens packages. Nope. Here are the items that were soooo cheap you can't even get that low of quality on Amazon: flash, lens cleaning kit, battery, SD card, SD card reader, charger, remote, tripod, backpack. I did not know a trip could weigh under a pound.

Worst experience I have ever had with customer service. Company is very shady, complete scam. PLEASE STAY AWAY! There’s no way these reviews on here are real people. Mike in sales is a con artist. Ordered a camera, 1 hour later called back to cancel order since they called me and told me the camera I ordered was an international model, and tried to get me to change models, and cameras, and said it would be over 500 more for a US MODEL. Then when I said, "No cancel it," he said he’s throwing in this this and that for free. Told him I still wanted to cancel order.

The Submit Order screen froze. I was afraid to reorder (although I eventually did) for fear that I would double order. If I have double ordered, I will need a way to cancel one of the orders. Overall the screens were easy to follow.

I called to ask a question about the ship time on an order I was going to place. I purchased the Canon RF24-70L Lens from Abe's because it was $300 less than B&H. There were a few details I needed to decide on my purchase and I could not find them at Abe's; namely the size in mm of the front lens (used to purchase a polarizing filter) and whether the product came with a lens hood. To find the size of the front lens, I went to B&H and looked it up. For the lens hood, there was a picture with the hood on the product, but no "product comes with..." section. I'm taking a chance that the hood comes with the product. As a first time user of Abe's, I may have missed these details somewhere, but I did look. In the end the difference in price will be worth it, but they could have made a sale on the filter if I could have found the lens diameter on their site.

I ordered a Canon EOS90D, and a couple of lenses from Abe’s of Maine. A salesperson called the next day to advise that the camera I had ordered was a “European” model and asked if I wanted to spend a couple hundred more dollars to get the full U.S. kit with all the accessories. I felt a little weird but said yes. I got the camera and lenses, but the camera was in a box that was missing its lid with the manufacturer information. When I tried to register it with Canon the website said the serial number was not recognized. I don’t know if it’s a counterfeit, a gray market camera, stolen or what, but I reached out to the salesperson. He said he’d have a manager get in touch. I am not happy about any of this. In the end there was no savings with them anyway, I feel like an idiot. DO NOT USE THEM.

I ordered a camera lens online, then received an email to call and verify my order. When I called, the lens I wanted was an "import" lens, and not in stock. But we have the U.S. version in stock for a little more money. So my price went from $849 to $1099. He also did not explain the fact they were not an authorized Tamron distributor (my bad for not doing more research).

I bought my first AF camera, a Pentax PZ10 from Abe's in 1992 from an advertisement in Shutterbug magazine. When My camera arrived, I opened the package and instead of a PZ10 I got a PZ20!!! I called customer service to tell them about the error and they said "since this is our fault and the price difference is only X$. Just keep that camera and enjoy it." I wanted to buy a Canon EOS R camera, which is currently being sold by others (Canon, Amazon, B&H, Adorama) for $1799. The only problem was that I needed a lens mount adapter to be able to use my lenses with the camera, and this particular item was on 4-6 week backorder. LUCKILY (and I use that term facetiously) Abe’s had the lens mount adapter in stock AND was having a Labor Day Sale so the camera would be $200 cheaper;).... Except it wasn’t, because I received a phone call within minutes to be told that I would need to pay extra for the battery, charger, and camera strap. And since I was doing that I might as well get the regular “boxed” product (which I assumed to mean the $1799 product that everyone else was selling). I’m embarrassed that I was tricked into paying extra for things that were already included, so ultimately paid $210 over Canon’s current list price.

I fell into their bait and switch gray market when I tried to purchase a camera. I placed the order at night and received a phone call the next business day from a salesman who claimed that the model I purchased was an international one. "Don't worry," he said, "we have the American version" (for $600 more!) When I asked him what the difference was he told me the one I purchased would be with Korean-only menus. When I searched their site for the so-called American version I found no listing. When I told the salesman that there was no verbiage on the product page for the "international model" about the camera coming in Korean language he claimed that the tiny "Brand New Factory Fresh Import Model" was enough.

Assuming shipping is fast, this was the best price I found for the Camera. They also offer many different payment options. I would definitely recommend that before checking Amazon, Adorama and BH, check out Abe's. I'm excited about making the jump to mirrorless.

These people sell only gray market merchandise but will bait and switch you for the same mechandise for a higher price. I ordered a Canon 90D and 18-55mm lens for what they advertised a great price. Just a few minutes later I get a call just like many other reviewers here to upsell me on what they claimed to be a US market version claiming this one includes NOTHING but the body only (no batteries, strap, etc) and the lens is a cheap non STM version (I don't think Canon even makes non STM EFS lenses anymore so I think that was clearly a lie).

My husband has been eyeing this camera for quite. Thought I'd have to wait until Christmas for special sales and looked online to find this fabulous deal. No tax and free shipping. WOW! A little disappointment with it taking 4-6 weeks for the next shipment. That's not "in stock" per se.

I just ordered a Canon ESO Rebel T7i camera. I haven’t gotten it yet so I can’t review the camera but it was cheaper on this site than it was on a few other sites I looked at. I’ll write another review once I get a chance to check out the camera.

I ordered my Canon EOS R camera online from AbesofMaine.com. It was listed for $300 less than other websites. I got a phone call shortly after stating that what I ordered was not a USA supported version. I inquired about what that meant with the salesman TED. I told him that is not what I wanted. He said he would set me up with the right one but it would be $300 more but would be able to provide a warranty with it. I said ok, that's fair. Come to find out when I tried to register my camera with Canon that it is not a US supported camera. This guy sent me a foreign unsupported (by CanonUSA) camera and some 3rd party cheap warranty that does almost nothing. The attorney general for NJ should be on top of this and put a stop to this company at once for these bait and switch programs. Abe's of Maine is not to be trusted.

Sent the order in online. Got a call 2 minutes after. Great Customer Service. We ordered and Ted called immediately making sure we got the filters to protect the lens. Made sure the delivery was going to arrive when we needed!

I've been fortunate to have worked and traveled to every continent on this rock but when I looked back at my photos of great experiences they didn't survive the test of times being taken on a camera phone. Abes of Maine provided prices that made the dive into photography compared to the competitors a no brainer.

I am reviewing after placing the order, I just ordered so do not have lens yet. I am trying the 12 months same as cash option. I will probably buy the R6 when it comes out. Just got a call from Abe's of Maine, now they are trying the "bait and switch" trying to charge more, and switch me to a higher priced item. That just changed my whole perspective. I just had to cancel the order. They didn't want to send me the box, or the lens hood. This just went from a 5 to a 1, not sure if I can go lower. The guy now says he has to order it, doesn't even have it in stock.

I had put a Nikon D7500 DX (body Only) in my cart with you some time ago now when the price was $689. I had scraped to come up with the money and when I finally did I went to purchase it and the price had jumped to $729 which at the time made it cost prohibitive for me especially since I had to also get a memory card for it. I pleaded with your customer service department three times to make an exception and give me the $689 price even in the way of a promo code and was completely ignored all three times which blew my mind given the current state of retail sales in America now. I finally scraped up the extra money and just placed my order but I’m more than disappointed in your unwillingness to help out someone in need themselves. Hi, Minor point: I placed order ** with this same email on 11/30/2019. I expected Abe's to recognize my email from before. Now I've definitely created an account to go with this current order. Now that I'm writing feedback, I suggest you enhance your search engine to filter products by camera mounts. I can filter for the lens manufacturer (Sony E mount in my case), but it would be very helpful if I could filter for lenses that will fit my camera.

A day after placing the order I received an email from them asking me to call them to confirm the order. Called them and it was to try to sell me a UV lens for $45.00. I got the lens via UPS about a week later. The lens box is not a Sony Lens box, there is no documentation or warranty with the lens. I DON'T KNOW IF THE LENS IS NEW, DEFECTIVE OR USED. I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN FROM ABE'S OF MAINE.

Ordered a lenses in Dec. Within few days got a call - snappy gentleman clearly attempted to up sell stuff which after I declined - told me the lens is on back order - I expressed I have no problem waiting - after waiting for 2 months I checked the status and appears that order got cancelled without any warning...or notice. Very upsetting, I am ok with up selling, I am ok with rude clearly commission driven sales stuff and playing the "game" - but it is unacceptable where a seller just quietly cancels an order without any explanation.
