Great pricing on the camera but the accessories seemed slightly higher when compared to other retailers. Checkout was quick and simple and in addition I was able to qualify for zero interest financing. If the accessories had been lower cost I would have purchased all of them from Abe's of Maine. When I was more active in photography years ago - Abe's of Maine was one of my 3 go to choices which is why I picked them for my major camera purchase.

I have been saving up for this camera for over 1.5 years now. I finally am able to purchased it and Abe's has the best price and great customer service. So I decided they would be who I purchased my new camera from.

Found a great deal on a Fuji camera for $1450. I called them to change the from the silver model to black and had a really sketchy experience. They basically told me the camera I ordered was an import model and didn't have come with a camera cap, and proceeded to very quickly try to upsell me some expensive accessories....a lens cap, strap, battery, and charger for an extra $349. I thought an SD card was also included, but when my package arrived, there was no card. Be extremely wary of this company and their overpriced upsells. I feel taken advantage of with their bait and switch practices. I will not purchase from this shady company again.

As others have mention, no mention of a product being "Gray" Market on the site. Purchased a Sony 70-200 GM2, got a call saying it as the import model, no box, no warranty, no caps. They sold me the "kit" to add the original Sony Box and Warranty for an extra $200. Who wants to purchase a $2700 item with no warranty.

This company is a MASTER at bait and switch tactics. Yes the prices are great until you complete a purchase and they call saying what you bought isn't what you actually bought and have to pay extra to get a "US" version and not grey market. Example went to buy a Sigma lens at a great price. Lo and behold I get a call two days later and the rep says the lens I bought is grey market and does not come with a warranty or even lens caps and I need to pay 200 extra dollars to get the US version. They may also try to sell you an extended warranty stating you don't get a warranty otherwise.. Avoid this place like the plague.

They do not have the products that they claim to have in stock, the whole operation is a scam bait and switch where they try to upsell you, and cancel your order if they fail to do so. I ordered a Sony 200-600 mm lens from them, only to be called by a sales rep saying that the lens I ordered does not come with the lens cap, but for only $300 more he could get me that AND the *extended warranty*. I said no thanks, and he grumpily hung up. I checked back and my order was cancelled with no explanation. Further follow up messages to them gave no response.

There is no grey market warning. In fact, the item description says, all accessories included. But sure enough, I get a call with just the same bait and switch that another reviewer had mentioned. Also this grey market item was now going to take 4 weeks to arrive when I'd originally been told 3-5 days on my checkout.

I found the exact Sony OLED tv I wanted on the Abe's of Maine website for $200 less than Amazon so I placed an order for it. Less than 30 minutes later I get a call from them advising me that they are out of stock of this particular model but could they possibly switch me to a better/newer/different model for the same price??? When I asked why they were selling an out-of-stock model on their website, all I got was hemming and hawing and a lame apology. This is a classic bait and switch tactic and he was persistent in trying to get me to NOT cancel my order and instead switch me to a different model tv. What a sleazy racket!!! Needless to say I cancelled my order and consider myself lucky to not what done any business with these people.

I purchased a camera through their Abe's. A few hours later I received a call from a rep who told me the item was in fact a grey camera without warranty or even a battery or charger. Nowhere on the web page did it state that the camera was grey market or missing accessories. He then tried to sell me those things; he also informed me that he could send a non-grey market item for $600 more. He claimed the item was grey market because they weren't a dealer for the brand, yet offered to get the "real" item for me. Highly deceptive.

I just purchased the item so I don't know how the transaction will end, but good so far. Abe's should ask for reviews after the transaction is finished, though, not just after I've done my part (paid for the item) and before they've completed theirs.

I've been scouring the internet for a great price on an LG 65" OLED C1 model tv and all the other places have been around the same price... a few hundred off here or there. I placed an online order for an 85" HDTV. Abe's called the next day to inform me that $300+ of insurance and oversize charges needed to be added to my order. I had already received an E-mail confirmation and invoice that showed free shipping. I was then told that shipping was free, but that insurance and oversize charges were not free, and that I should have read the return policy and/or FAQ. I feel it's 100% Abe's responsibility to correctly calculate, display, and communicate all shipping RELATED charges completely and accurately. If for some internal reason those charges cannot be provide during their online order processing then at the very least Abe's needs to "force" a phone call before accepting the online order, i.e. not just show "free shipping". Adding that amount of additional fees after the fact is just not a good business practice. I ended up cancelling my order and will not do business with Abe's again.
