    We've had 2-10 for 10 years and we've been extremely happy with them. We've had our home for 10 to 15 years so things started breaking down and 2-10 has been very good at helping us get everything fixed. I'm impressed with the process of just getting online and telling them what's wrong. They're good about getting back with me and making the appointments. All of their contractors have been good except one. 2-10 pushed me over to a new contractor to take care of it and then it was fine.

    I had issues with my running water. Here in Colorado, I pay a lot for water and I knew that we needed it fixed as soon as we could otherwise, we were gonna lose money by running water. The plumber who came was great and I really liked him. All in all, 2-10 has been excellent and that's why I've kept them for 10 years. I have another house in Missouri and we have a different warranty there but they're not as good.

    My family recently bought our first home. We researched and called around to different warranty companies. We chose 2-10 Home Warranty because they appeared to have the best HVAC coverage. Our home has an older unit. We were told by the warranty company that if the unit was older than 10 years old they would replace it automatically if it stopped working. Turns out that was a complete lie. Our unit stopped working so we turned in a claim. We were told we would be contacted within 24hrs which did not happen. We had to call them multiple times. Took them over a week to get someone out. Then another few days before we heard anything else. Now they refuse to cover anything. This is a very dishonest company and I highly recommend not buying this warranty. It is a complete waste of money. We are highly disappointed in this company.

    Do not do business with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They were very slow to respond to my request when my AC went out. I was assigned several contractors and here I am 2 months later still with no AC. Some came out, some did not, and some took forever to diagnose. I have children, including an infant in my home and they do not care that it is almost 100 degrees in my home. I can't even sleep at night due to having to watch my children in the heat. We got two window AC units to help but this is a hot summer and they aren't helping much. I was "escalated" to the "escalation team" after leaving a comment on their page. They called me for almost a week to tell me they hadn't received a diagnosis from the company. They finally got the diagnosis and they told me it was not covered under warranty to fix the AC even though I have the HVAC plus and Enhanced HVAC as additional options.

    When I asked about ending my services with them, they insisted that I had a "contract" that I never signed and pretty much sent me a brochure with my name at the top and a balance. Their tone was forceful when they mentioned "the contract". I pay them with the expectation of timely and professional service. Two months of no AC and a cop out for what's not covered by the company is unethical and unjust. I will be taking my business to another warranty company. This company has no problems taking customer's money but they aren't willing to help resolve their home issues. As others have stated, they are great when nothing is broken. Do not do business with them.

    I've had 2-10 as my warranty for 15 years and the claim experiences have been very good. The only problem we had every once in a while was when we called in a problem, and they gave us a person or a company in Orlando, and they didn't come over where we were. And then, we have to call in much around, getting back and forth between them to do it. Some of the companies that 2-10 uses came over no problem, but some of them didn't. Whoever it is that calls up a company and gives them a job, they should ask them if they actually went over to that place. Also one time we had to wait because they were getting a part from China. But we're satisfied.

    The online process seems to work fine, but once we find out the company, we don't really have an input to make a complaint about the fact that, "Hey, the people you told were gonna fix this don't come here." Whoever it is that sets it up, if they ask if they actually go to our area, it would help. Usually, 2-10 gives us another one or they ask us if we know one that will do it in that area. But the contractors were quick and easy, and two hours later, they were gone. The water heater has been very good as well.

    I had a leak in my water heater. I called 2-10 Home Warranty and my interactions with their reps were good. I was very satisfied with them. They assigned a company to come out and look at the water heater, which they replaced, and my interactions with the contractor were fine. I also had an issue with another appliance but 2-10 wouldn’t help me with it because I called somebody else before we knew what the chain of command was. Other than that, everything is going great.

    2-10 is a wonderful company. I’ve always heard good things about them. The representative that we have through Berkshire, Sheryll, was above and beyond. I had a question regarding my issue, and when I spoke with her, she was able to get it taken care of. She did a wonderful job. The contractor was okay. They worked, but you can tell the difference of somebody that comes and enjoy their job or if they’re coming just to collect the paycheck.

    They did the diagnosis, but it seemed like they did it just to collect the paycheck. But they weren't rude. They figured that they couldn’t go any further because it was my master bathroom toilet which leaked to my dining room ceiling. It seemed as if they just came out because they knew that’s all they could get and they couldn’t go any further since that work had to be done first. I had to wait for 2-10 to come up with a final decision. When I called to see if the contractor could do the repairs, they told me they could not do the repairs until the ceiling was done.

    I had a plumbing leak and called 2-10. They had someone dispatched to come fix it. They had to go through the ceiling but without having the ceiling touched up, but I haven't heard from them. Other than that, the 2-10 reps were very nice and helpful.

    Submitting my claim for a water heater with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was slow and they didn’t cover much. I expected it to have better coverage. I talked to somebody on the phone when I did my claim and that person was fine. The contractor was great. He was fast and he was nice. The water heater was leaking and broken. He came out within a couple of days. He couldn’t do anything for it because it was broken. So he suggested that I replace it.

    The house we bought is on the older side. It was built in ’73 and we felt it might have some problems. 2-10 was mentioned as an option by the Realtor and at first, we said no but then we decided it was a good idea. One thing that I wish though is that you could find your own contractors. We’ve had good luck with some and not so good luck with the others. My husband would file claims online but I prefer doing it on the phone. One time that I did it, it was all automated. We had another appliance that was having some difficulty and 2-10 sent us back to the same contractor that we had not been happy with at all before. That contractor did not work out at all. We were also told that once the claim was handed to the contractor, it was between us. But we couldn’t get hold of the people who had come in to make it right and the appliance was never fixed. We just went out and bought a new one.

    Most of the contractor had been nice. But when choosing a contractor, you usually go by the advice of someone else. Someone has worked with them or they're someone that you personally know or it's a large enough company that has a walk-in type of store. But a lot of 2-10 contractors are not like that and if you do not have a place where you can walk into a store and confront the owners, then you have difficulty settling things. If they don’t return your calls or respond to your emails, you’re left hanging. One of 2-10's contractors was even from a small town that's 45 minutes away. We’ve used other contractors like that when we picked them but it’s been on the advice of somebody else.

    We probably wouldn’t have gone back with 2-10 for the second year if it hadn’t been for the person who called to talk with us about it. We have her name so if things start going awry or not the way we want to, we’d have someone with 2-10 we can contact then she knows where to go or what to do or she would explain what’s going on or why it’s done this way. We had a little difficulty with something happening this past year but I was able to contact her and it went a whole lot better. I have been much more happy this time.

    When I bought my home, I was told about 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and they looked like they provided the services that I would be most interested in. It's a little different than the homeowner's insurance which was why I chose them and it sounded like it would be easier to work with. Submitting a claim is easy but the hold time is always excruciatingly long. They have no call back system like most companies that says you can leave your phone number and they'll call you back when it's your turn in queue. When you talk to an agent, that takes less time than the hold time.

    I did not realize that what I had going on was covered by 2-10. The first claim was the hot water heater. It just went out but they sent me a text and settled because I used it out of network. It went very smoothly, and I got a text very quickly when they said I would. The hot water heater is $1,400 and they paid me 400, but the hot water heater alone is $900. I tried to get an explanation because I had to pay 2,200 for the gas under the trailer, and now it's the plumbing that went wrong and I had plumbing services. I thought it was just the appliances that were covered so, I decided to call and ask. 2-10 just paid me what they thought they would have paid somebody under their contract. They said that they could have it fixed for 600 because they have a network of people but I don't think you could even have a technician do that for $600.

    This last experience with 2-10 was not pleasant. They told me when I called in originally to email the diagnosis and proof of payment, which I did. They didn’t give me a time frame when I called back in to ask where the process was at. They said they haven't received the email, and I said that I have sent it to them twice. The rep said that it will be another six weeks because they have to go through their email. It takes that long to get to their customers.

    Six weeks is not acceptable in my book especially for somebody when they didn't tell me that and it would be faster to mail it in. She didn't wanna help me. So, I had to insist on talking to a manager. She refused at first. She said that they don't move calls to a manager even if you request it because it's not their policy. So, I had to get upset and say that I didn’t care what their policy was and I want a manager. The manager blew me off when I got him and said that they would issue a check and it would go out in Wednesday's mail. That was last week Tuesday, and this Wednesday has gone by and still no check. So, I was gonna wait until next Wednesday to call if it hasn't arrived. I didn't want to complain because I have referred them to other buyers in the park and even though I have recommended them, I've got a recommendation with only the first one because they were so quick to settle the claim.

    The dishwasher was leaking water, and we had to do without water in the whole house for many, many days. Even though 2-10 told me they were calling an emergency, nobody came for three and a half days. When they finally got somebody out here, it was diagnosed that it was just blown. There were too many things wrong. But the contractor was great, and he immediately called in to 2-10. But 2-10 dragged it out through about a three-week period. They kept saying they hadn’t got the paperwork from the contractor. And then, they said it was going for a review. We finally got a plumber, at our expense out here, to get a shut-off valve so we could turn our water back on. We couldn’t keep living without any water.

    Our dishwasher was a top-of-the-line KitchenAid, but 2-10 wanted me to get a GE that did hardly nothing. So, therefore, they gave me 1/3 of what it cost me to replace it. They would not allow the same brand. I ended up paying for a professional installation and cost me about $1,300. But 2-10 only gave me $400. I don’t know any decent dishwasher you can buy today for $400 and get it installed. I also had another situation with 2-10 when the water was off and running. We had to shut off the whole house, and they told me they’d put it in as an emergency but nobody came. So, I had to pay for a plumber there, too. 2-10 could get some more people, and their review team could expedite the process. 2-10 was aware of my situation, but it wasn’t good enough to get anybody out here.

    2-10 wouldn’t take my claim online and I don't know why. But I filed it over the phone and that was easy to do. The icemaker was stuck in the water mode. You couldn’t get to the ice or anything else. It wasn’t frozen. Then it couldn’t turn on the light as well. The contractor came out within a couple of days but then they had to order the part so it took a couple of weeks before it was repaired. Everything is back to normal now though.

    I bought my house on May 15th and I got 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. I've submitted a claim and it’s been absolutely horrible. The first claim was a leak in the wall, and the person they sent over cut holes in the walls on both sides of the walls. Then, 2-10 decided it wasn’t covered because it must've been leaking when I bought the house. They eventually came around and said they'd covered it, so they reimbursed me everything I had to pay out of pocket.

    Then, the refrigerator stopped working after about 3 or 4 weeks of working fine. It was freezing, it was cooling, and it was doing everything. And then, in a matter of three days, it wasn’t. Again, they tried to tell me it must not have been working right when I bought the house. I had to get that one reviewed and they finally agreed that it was covered. They first ordered a refrigerator freezer that was a discontinued model and they made me wait 10 days before telling me it was discontinued and I wouldn’t get a refrigerator.

    Then they ordered another one. But whoever it was they sent out to deliver it said that he wasn’t paid to install it and so he left it sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor. So, I called 2-10 again and I'm still waiting on somebody to tell me how they want that thing installed. In the meantime, I’ve been telling them, “I need a refrigerator. I’ve got company coming.” So, my son plugged it up for me and connected the water hose. It appears to be fine. But with the experience I’ve had with 2-10, I don't wanna take any chances. I have absolutely no faith in them, and I would not recommend them to a soul.

    I barely had the policy and I haven’t even had it for two months. It’s ridiculous. With the two things I’ve had to turn in, I’ve had to rebut, rebuke, and get it reevaluated. I had to call 50 times to get somebody to do something with the refrigerator and it’s absolutely absurd. The first person I talked to was helpful and courteous but after that, when they said everything wasn’t covered, they were rude and belligerent. How is a refrigerator that worked for weeks broken when I bought the house 6 weeks ago? How is the leak in the wall that wasn’t there when I bought the house show up after I moved in? They even said I caused the leak in the wall. It's sheer stupidity.

    My coverage with 2-10 is going on three years now and the whole process for my most recent claim took about three hours because we had to go pick up the hot water heater. My hot water heater had started leaking and gone out. I called at about 8:00 and they returned my call around quarter after 8:00. 4 Fathers Plumbing was the outfit that came out and replaced the water heater, and I would recommend them. They did an excellent job and were very nice.

    We got the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for closing on the house. It was part of our deal and we’ve had it since November. I always have no problems getting 2-10 to schedule someone to come out. However, they work with but one particular company as far as plumbing goes and it’s a terrible company. We have a warranty so that we don't have to pay out of pocket except for the deductible and I've always been told that I could hire someone outside. However, I have to pay them and then get reimbursed, which is what I've done this last time. It was an issue that needed to be dealt with because the original plumbing company did not do their job. 2-10 has had the contractor out a few times and there was only one time that they came out and did something that actually worked after they were done but in my mind, that contractor did not finish their job. The contractors were lazy and didn't do what they were supposed to do.

    This last situation, I called and they came out. They snaked and the issue was not resolved hours later. I called to get them to come back out because the job was not completed to my satisfaction. The contractors said they were not in that area except for a couple of days a week. So, they couldn't just schedule someone to come right back out here. I ended up having to contact 2-10 to see if I could get a hold of someone and I was able to get a contractor who actually knew what they were doing and wasn't in a hurry to get something done. 2-10 paid for it on the spot rather than me having to pay out of pocket. If I could get that contractor in an agreement with 2-10, I would use them all the time. They took the time to do the job and do it right. So, I would recommend 2-10 to people but I would not recommend to anybody the only company in my area that they have a contract with.

    I'm a realtor and I’ve been recommending 2-10 to a lot to my buyers. They’ve been good, minus the AC issues. When there’s an emergency for AC, the response time is terrible. I’ve had a situation on one of our properties where there is a baby. And they were telling me, “Two or three days.” I had to fix it myself and there was no refund or anything like that. And then, also, in another property, I renewed it and they renewed the wrong policy. I had a water heater break, and I had to pay so much out of my pocket. But the good part is they rectified it. They went back and corrected it after sending the sheets for reimbursement. I sometimes file the claim online. And when I’m not getting my way, then I call them, when I’m having issues. The process have been very easy. 2-10 has been good compared to other ones. They’ve been good, except for the few knickknacks that I’ve had that they haven’t resolved.

    I've had 2-10 since April and it has been terrible. It’s been a fight to get anything from the very get-go. Right now, I was promised a check for my HVAC system on Wednesday. This is Friday and I still haven’t gotten it. I’m supposed to have the best policy that they sell and out of 3,800, they’re paying 1,700. And it took almost two weeks to get a hot water heater that had split open. I also talked to so many people and everybody I talked to wanted to know the whole history. One day, I spent eight hours on the phone trying to get something done. It’s just been a nightmare. The reps were very courteous. But they just don’t do what they say they’re gonna do.

    Some of the contractors 2-10 had sent out they no more had gotten in the door and they were asking for tips saying, “That’s what we work on, that’s where we make our money is tips.” They got mad at each other, cussing each other out, in my driveway. The other guy on the HVAC system they sent out was here about 10 to 15 minutes putting some Freon in the system which it worked two days and then quit. And I told them not to send him out here again. It was all kinds of things wrong with it. He never said a word. He just took his $75 and left.

    Our realtor thought that any new homeowner needed a home warranty. She uses 2-10 for most of her clients. For the most part, doing a claim has been easy. There were some issues like on our first claim that we had with our dishwasher. We had four different people come out, and then they installed, and then it wasn’t installed right. It wasn’t level and we had water leaking. And that one took a little while because they had to order a part. So, it was a frustrating process, but I don’t think that’s anything 2-10 could control. And the contractors were nice people. They were always courteous. They were maybe not as experienced as they probably should have been. They didn’t have enough training.

    Overall, we were satisfied with 2-10 especially with the customer service. Everyone we talked to with 2-10 was all very understanding and very helpful. There’s only a few times we had to wait for a long time for someone to get our call. But they always checked up, they sent good emails to let us know what was going on. So, we were always aware of the situation and never left hanging. So, that was always nice.

    Our water pressure regulator was bad and it happened two days after we moved in. The pipes started banging in the middle of the night. I got a technician out here. He told 2-10 that it was a previous problem so 2-10 wasn't gonna cover it. I had to call back and tell 2-10 that our home inspector and none of it was mentioned in any documentation that we had. I ended up fixing it for us. But I had to pay the $100 service charge. Also, though the contractor was professional, he didn't seem like he wanted to help. Now, the regulator is leaking which we noticed a few days ago. And it's in the ceiling so now we have a spot on my ceiling. I have since put in a service request for it.

    We also have an air conditioning problem. It wasn't blowing cold air and we noticed that the fan on the unit wasn't working. The contractor came out last night and said that it was just a loose wire so he re-did all the wiring. But he never came inside to test if it was actually working and the AC never blew cold. Then it broke an hour later.

    2-10 is definitely in business to make money, not to help people. That's why before they sell this program, they check things out to make sure that hopefully the stuff is in good working order and that they won't get any calls within a year. This house that I bought has two units for the heat pumps. One is a newer unit and that broke down. People have been out here probably 10 times to work on it. They told me they wouldn't fix it because it runs. I had a $385 heating bill last winter because I had it running on emergency heat. Then recently, they put back in the Freon that the last guy had let out. It was another company.

    I'm dissatisfied. I haven't renewed the warranty because they don't fix the unit and they don't replace it. I was thinking about the Better Business Bureau and also about contacting all the Realtors not to use 2-10's services because they don't do it. I called a couple of different numbers and I requested to get the information in writing because I wanna file a lawsuit against 2-10 and I wanna know where I should send the lawsuit papers. I called Susan, the head of the department, but she never got back to me. I also sent an email but I never received the information.

    I've had three or four claims with 2-10 and their claims process is simple. I just give them my policy number, tell them what's going on, and then they take a record of it. They review my coverage and once they determine that the issue should be covered, they let me know that a contractor will be in touch within the next business day. The contractors have always called me back the same day or next day, and they were usually out to address it within the next day or two from that call. The quality of 2-10's contractors is much better than that of the ones sent out by the home warranty company I had on my last home. My most recent claim was for a leaking pool pump, and 2-10 took great care of it. It was a very easy process. The contractor they hired was great.

    When I was closing on the house, I realized for the first time that I was gonna get 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. I’ve had it since May 21st, which was when I moved in and submitting a claim was a good experience. The contractor who came out via 2-10 didn't seem to be the most helpful and the attitude wasn’t brilliant but that doesn’t reflect on 2-10 at all. Everybody I spoke with at 2-10 was very helpful in trying to get a resolution to getting the well pump sorted out. There were issues with us trying to resolve the claim because initially, the claim was denied and then had to go a step further, so it had to be looked into again. I didn’t think 2-10 was willing to pay out so, another contractor actually fitted the well pump, and that wasn’t the contractor that initially came out to do the inspection. 2-10 did pay out and I got sent a check for the amount to compensate myself rather than doing the work through the contractor that 2-10 tried to provide.

    After I had the well pump issue, I also put in for changing the locks within 45 days, which was simple. I got an email about how to do it and to submit the paperwork and pictures of that. Overall, the experience was very positive. 2-10 is a good home warranty service. I made a claim and I got paid out for it according to their guidelines. So, they did mostly what they said on the tin.

    I've had coverage with 2-10 for four years now and overall, I’m satisfied. My most recent claim was with the water heating system and my interaction with the claims people over the phone was fine but the process wasn’t very smooth for me. There were out of pocket charges beyond the service claim because the plumbing company said they needed to do some things to bring my system up to code.

    I asked 2-10 because I wanted to know what I was getting through having the warranty. But they couldn’t tell me what the cost was of the hot water that they were gonna be putting in. I wanted to be able to look at it and see if what I was being charged out of pocket for those items bringing my system up to code was legitimate or not, versus what the warranty company was covering for my new water heater. I understand there are some protocols where they can’t discuss the price agreement that they have with whatever. But it was frustrating for me. I’m happy I got my new hot water heater but it was like $400 on top of the $100 service fee. The contractors were good people though. I got my water heater in about five days and they did a good job.

    I’ve been with 2-10 for 18 years and the claims experience has been okay. However, I keep having an issue and you have to go through the whole thing with every single representative. There isn’t a number you can call and a lot of times, the representative will just assign any contractor without looking at what the contractor does. It’s not training-based. So, I’ve had three different contractors come out and tell me they were not gonna do the work. 2-10 had somebody come out for my furnace. It took six months to get the furnace in because the guy wasn’t getting the right parts. He was contracting it out and I’ve already had three other contractors that have been to my house to fix what he did wrong. So, sometimes, 2-10’s contractors are not really checked out. They need to do a little bit more background check on their contractors.

    When I had my faucet repaired, we got the basic faucet, but 2-10 only gave $150 and that includes the $75 trip charge and their work. They left $10 for a faucet. I ended up paying $300 for the rest of the work and the $75. Out of everything, that was my most upsetting. The faucet that was fixed was great but I was expecting it and the plumber’s time to be covered but only his time was covered. Overall, 2-10 is pretty good and the people are nice but the last couple of years, 2-10 has been a little bit weaker than before.

    We were having problems with our hot water tank and the first time I called 2-10 to set the claim, they advised that I was going to receive a call from the claims department after submitting the claim. But when I received the call, they told me that I had to find a plumber myself, pay out of pocket and send 2-10 the bill or the receipt of what I paid. I was like, “Oh, okay.” But the next day, I was like, “Wait, why am I going to have to look for a plumber myself?” So I called them back. I spoke to a different person and they advised me a totally different thing. The person said it was not true and that they did have their plumbers. So we moved on with the process.

    The plumber came on Friday and did the inspection. Then he told me it would take two to three business days. Then I called because Monday went by, then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday went by, and I didn’t receive anything. I asked whether they had sent over whatever they had done here to 2-10 and they said they did it right away and told me to give 2-10 a call. So I called 2-10 but they said that they hadn't received anything. So I called the plumber again and they said that they had. It was just back and forth then it was way too much. It was a hassle.

    2-10 advised me that what the plumbers were charging was way over what they cover and that I was going to have to pay over $450 out of pocket. Because the water heater had a hole, it was leaking and aside from that, we had had the water heater for 22 years. It was really old. So I said that since they were charging me out of pocket that much for it to be repaired, we might as well buy a new water heater. We ended up doing a buyout. We did it ourselves and 2-10 sent over a check.

    2-10 makes it a little difficult to get claims filed, but otherwise they do pretty well. I've been trying to get a refrigerator claim filed, but I don't know if that actually happened or not. The other ones that have been finished have been fine, though. Their contractors seem to be great. The only thing is there's not a lot of contractors in this area, so we have their out-of-network type of thing. Still, I'm planning on renewing our warranty and I would recommend them.

    I've had 2-10 as my warranty going on three years and the customer service has been kind of difficult, but the rest of it has been pretty good once you get the right people on there. It’s a hit or miss on who you speak to. I've filed a claim over the phone because it’s the only way they move. The contractor for my water heater came out the following day and were very professional. But then, a couple of days later, we noticed that we had water leaking again, so they had to come back. And that was within maybe four days after installation, and they repaired it.

    There was a part in the refrigerator that went out and at first, I had an electrician come out to make sure the electrical power was okay. The electric company came out and the electrician that 2-10 sent out told me that something in the meter box burned out. So, the city electrician came out, replaced it and fixed it. Once we had the electrical power ready and the part in the refrigerator replaced, everything went back to normal. The refrigerator is working like new again. The contractor was very good and we appreciate 2-10 for sending him. 2-10 found the problem, eliminated all the guessing and told me what I needed to do. They took care of that. The maintenance guy and the electrician came, and they did their job and did their job good.

    When I bought my house, we got the home warranty as a part of the close. We had to use it in the first year so we renewed it for the second year just in case. Most recently, we had some water stains on our ceiling that ran underneath the bathroom. So we had a plumber come out and it ended up being the overflow for the tub. But 2-10 wasn't able to get a contractor out to our home. They told us to get somebody and that they would cover the cost. But the cost to fix it was more than what was covered by 2-10. They basically sent us the check for $400 and that was that. We ended up having to pay $180 out of our pocket. $100 was for the 100 bucks then $80 was the net.

    The reps did a good job but I wish they could have gotten someone out and it didn’t cost us 80 bucks. Also, it would be nice to know what the maximum dollar amount would be payable for any service. Maybe this is just my lack of not knowing and that information may be available but it's not obviously available. We also had another issue where we had an overflow of our sewer pipe. That wasn’t covered in the original policy and we got that fixed. But that’s part of the just-in-case why we bought the policy. We upped our coverage in the hopes that if this happens again in the next year, we can get it fixed. All in all, our experience has been very good but there's room for improvement.

    I don’t like the claims process at 2-10. It’s been hell and I’m in the process of suing the person that I bought this house from because I found out from another Realtor he did a lot of shady stuff. The house was falling apart. I have a machine hooked into my heart. I’m on life support. At night, when I go to sleep, and at daytime, I have batteries or I’ll be going to a short. The mold has went through the ceiling and holes have came down. He was supposed to fix something simple like the drywall board and he never did it. And this was what 2-10 was gonna come in for and they never fixed it.

    Whoever I spoke to at 2-10 was awesome. But other than that, I haven’t had nobody come out and look at my sink and the outside foundation. They all didn’t know that. There was $10,000 worth of damage to that. The inspector should have caught that but he didn't. The reps of 2-10 all sound alike, very sweet. She was on it. And then she’s calling the place and asking them, “Why in the heck?” Because 2-10 has already sent the contractor a check and they keep claiming they haven’t received it. And I told myself, “Well, maybe she’s been waiting on me to pay the rest.” She said, “No Mr. **. Once they get their check, they go to work."

    I had three things that only had two people come out, and nothing’s been done. I wouldn’t wanna take away from the lady I talked to. There are good people at 2-10. So I will recommend it. But at the same token, I will say, “Proceed with caution,” because they need to look at the hiring process or who they’re hiring because people aren’t doing their job.

    My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is all good so far. In fact, my most recent claim with them was a busted water heater and it's now working out fine. Submitting a claim to them was easy and simple. We called them up and said, "Hey, we have a problem with a busted water heater." They said, "Okay, we'll schedule somebody." However, the company had 57 water heaters break that same day we called them so it took them a while to get back to us, we waited about a week. Their contractor came in and checked it out and said, "Yup, that's busted." He pulled out the other water heater. Once he got the okay, he replaced it and then he replaced everything, set it up and made sure it worked and was done.

    I've had a couple of different things repaired with 2-10. Recently, the icemaker was freezing up. It was giving us a lot of problems and it was getting progressively worse. Then, it was making some funny noises. I called it in and the contractor 2-10 sent was first-rate. We had one other problem with the dishwasher and the contractor had to come back out a couple of times 'cause the first fix didn't fix it. But everything's working fine now. It's been a good experience with 2-10 overall.

    I could not in good faith ever recommend this company, I have had numerous home warranties in the past and this one is the worst. I opened my work order request online (that was a nice option) and the repair person showed up to look at my unit. Found the broken part and placed the order for the part right in front of us. That was the first week of June, here it is July 8th and we are still without AC.

    I called 2-10 and received different status about this part. I was informed the part was ordered on 21 June, then they had to wait for freight to be approved. We have been living in a home that is 88 degrees inside for a month. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were unavailable and would get a call back. I have never received a call back when they told me they would call. I am not sure if 2-10 stands for 2 out of 10 stars or 210 days to get a part. All they have are excuses and no solutions. When you buy a home please make sure the seller does not give you 2 10 for your coverage.

    We've been with 2-10 for a little over a year but I don’t think we’re staying with them. When I first did my first claim for my hot tub, it was so horrible. I had to get the local 2-10 rep involved to get it all worked out. We also just had a plumbing claim and I was told that if you have to cut in a drywall, it’s considered different and there is only a certain amount. We have a hole in our roof now and 2-10 said they would not cover that. I know originally that, when you do things like that, they’re supposed to cover it back to a raw finish. But 2-10 said that we had maxed out with one claim. I was like, "Are you serious?” HMS never had anything like that. Plus how could it max out? It boggles my mind considering it was the very first claim we had this year and it was like in the last month. So I told my husband that if we have another leaking pipe and they have to cut in a drywall, 2-10 won’t even cover it.

    Then we just had an air conditioning issue. We came home and it was like 90 degrees. We had been out of town and our kids called us and said the AC wasn’t working. But when I called, the claim got put in as a regular thing. The service company called me and said they were not coming out that day because it was considered a regular call. It would be Monday. But we were in an extreme heatwave last weekend. How was that not an emergency? She said it is but I would have to call 2-10 back and get it classified as such. When I called back, they said that they didn’t consider that an emergency. I have a geriatric 12-year-old dog whose sides are heaving. She’s a bulldog and they can’t breathe well anyway. I also have a family member with asthma. It is like 90 degrees in my house. How was that not an emergency? She apologized and said it was just not considered as one but that they did put everybody on high priority.

    I called the AC company back and told them what 2-10 said, and the rep said that 2-10 did not do it at high priority and that they were lying to me but that the contractor would come out anyway and deal with it. So luckily, they came out and the issue was a broken piece that they guy had on his thing. He fixed my air conditioner right away. But it wasn’t 2-10 that made that happen. It was because the AC company felt sorry for us so they came out. I probably am gonna go back to my old home warranty. We never had problems with them. 2-10 had better prices for a hot tub coverage and that was why I switched. But I have had an issue every single time I've tried to do a claim.

    I purchased a home last year. And so, the homeowners left us 2-10 for one year. I haven’t renewed it yet, but I plan on renewing it. Submitting a claim was not a problem. I’ve had some issues before with some of the companies they sent out to my house. They didn't do anything. But with submitting the claim, it was easy to follow the instructions.     I've had 2-10 since 2011 when I first bought my townhouse. My Realtor told me that it’s nice to have an extra home warranty. Most recently, the refrigerator was barely keeping cool so I put a claim in with them on the 12th and the contractor didn’t contact me until the 15th. Before he even got to the house, it said work complete but the guy hasn’t even made it here yet. I called him and he said he didn’t get the work order. Then, he gave me his information. My property is a rental property, which he was aware of, so I forwarded the information along to the tenant and I also texted him the tenant's number and information but he never contacted the tenant. It was a lot of back-and-forths. He came out and the next morning, the refrigerator was shot. He was supposed to come back out the next day and he never showed. He said he submitted a work order for the part and he never came with the part.

    He then said that the refrigerator was not repaired and he couldn’t fix it. So, he never submitted the paperwork or whatever he was supposed to do on his end to 2-10. There was a lot of back-and-forth between me, him, and 2-10. I had 2-10 call him multiple times on three-way and he lied to them and said he was gonna send it and that the paperwork must have not gone through. It delayed the process so bad. Once he put in his paperwork, he already put me a week behind. Then, it hit the 4th of July and the girl told me that it was approved and it was gonna be three to four business days.

    The whole time, it never even went to the purchases department. I spoke to three different people and three people told me the same thing until I finally got to that department and they said just got it the day before and it that it would take them five days to go over everything to figure out what they were gonna do and that I would get an email. The renters have been out of a refrigerator for almost a month. It was really frustrating.

    I just got 2-10 to actually order the new refrigerator. This experience was horrible. I know the 2-10 customer service reps take the brunt or a lot of the nonsense for the back office people but their communication sucks. There was one time I asked to speak to a supervisor and the lady was so rude. She said she was not giving me her supervisor. She refused to do anything and I was stuck talking to her. But I spoke to Robert and he was the only person that said he was gonna do something and followed through with it. He promised me in two hours he would call me back with my confirmation email saying they actually ordered it, which he did. Right now, I am still waiting. The only thing I know at this point is that it had been ordered but I don’t even know who to call to see who’s supposed to be calling me to set up a delivery date or what. When I first had 2-10, it was never this bad.

    We’ve had 2-10 since we bought the house and we did it over the phone when we submitted a claim. It worked fine that we didn’t have a machine when we weren’t moved in but before we moved in, it stopped working. The lid said it wasn’t closed. The contractor was fine but it was the company that didn’t give him what he needed. Instead of replacing the machine, the company wanna put a motherboard which was twice as much as the machine. It was an $800 part and a $400 machine, which was crazy. After I got on them, the company finally gave us a new one but it took them over six weeks to get us a machine. It would’ve been even longer if I would’ve let them put in the motherboard, but I wasn’t gonna go there. The guy could’ve installed it, but he didn’t have a work order. The people who brought it installed it and took the old one. We were very satisfied with that. Since then, the machine has been operating perfectly and so far, we’re happy.

    We just bought our house in the fall, and we've had coverage with 2-10 since then. Their claim process was awful. It was the worst experience of my life. They sent a technician out to restore a dryer problem, and the guy didn’t hook the dryer back up and it caused mold in our entire house. Then we had a problem with our oven. They sent a technician out. He said it was unfixable. The 2-10 wouldn’t replace it. They had to send somebody else out. They sent another technician out. He replaced the part, and then we went to use it. The oven blew up. So, we had to go off on our own to buy ourselves a new oven because 2-10 wouldn’t replace it. They wouldn’t give us anything. They kept telling us that another technician needed to come out to look at the oven. I’ve said, “You sent two people my way. One gave us the answer we wanted. The second one almost set fire to my kitchen.” I never would recommend them to people nor will I ever use them again.

    2-10 was included in the purchase of our home through our Realtor. The Realtor said that that was one thing that she always asks for in the purchase of a home. We were told that our water heater, however-old, was in great condition but it wasn't. At first, we took freezing cold showers then we took a hot, blistering shower. It was bad. When I called 2-10 to submit a claim for my gas water heater, I got an automated system which I thought was really cool. That was the best experience I’ve ever had calling in a claim. A lot of companies nowadays outsource, so it’s hard to understand some people. The automated system said that somebody would be in contact with me within 24 hours, but I got contacted within an hour.

    My brother-in-law had come and look at the unit and he had told me exactly what to tell the contractor. When I talked to the guy that called me, I told him that and he said they would have somebody out soon. In total, technicians came out three times. The first gentleman was worthless. He said the issue was the gas valve, but that was not what it was. The second and third was the same gentleman. His name is Ben and he was phenomenal. He came out the very next day and he knew exactly what the issue was. He noticed that there was a leak on the top of the water heater that the first guy never even saw. The first guy didn’t even look at the top of the water heater. I want to thank him for letting me have a nice shower instead of getting blisters.

    The only thing was the piece was backlogged, so we went a whole week with scalding hot water and ended up having to go over to my sister’s house to shower. We couldn’t turn off our unit and the pilot kept burning out. But Ben was really good. Overall, it was the best experience I’ve ever had. Phenomenal. I’m hoping that if I ever have to contact 2-10 again about my water heater, I can just say I want Ben. My sister got the same home warranty because we went through the same Realtor.

    2-10 is a great company. Things always go wrong at the home and it’s not necessarily your fault. They just stop working. So if you don’t have the money to buy a new fridge, you can go ahead and pay for the whole year on the warranty and then the $100 whenever the service people come. The warranty is worth it for what they do. I call when I have claims and the reps are good. They were taking a little longer with this last claim but overall, it’s been good. The contractors come, do their job and ask you if they have questions, and they're pretty good. Our last time was the AC and that was kind of rough. Our AC broke down and was off for almost a week. It was really hot and we didn’t get anyone to come in until four days after. But it wasn’t 2-10’s fault.

    Our washer was leaking. When the contractor came, he discovered that it was also leaking up at the faucet but he wouldn't touch it. He said I needed to contact the plumber. We had to put in another claim for the plumbing part where the washer hoses connect. He said that it was still part of the washer and the washer guy should have checked it before he left the house. It took 10 seconds for him to tighten the bolt. We were gonna try it but I was afraid something would happen and break and then I'd be flooded. It was 75 bucks for 10 seconds and I was not happy. The plumber said he would have only charged me $30. We had the same thing happen with the garbage disposal where it wouldn't run. The service guy came, put the wrench at the bottom and 10 seconds later, it was operating. Still, 2-10's claim process has been wonderful. I would recommend them.

    When I file claims with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, I do it on their automated phone system, and it’s not too bad. I’m not pleased with my last experience, but prior to that, I was very pleased. The water heater was fine. They did fine on covering that. Bowers Plumbing is the one they sent out. They did a good job. But I had a valve that went out on a shower. I had a certified plumber friend come in he said the valve was bad. The mixer valve stopped working, so it would only put out extremely hot water. It wouldn’t mix the cold with the hot. So, we went ahead and ordered the part. And when we found out that it was a high-end part and it was gonna be fairly expensive, he told me to run it through my warranty for them to cover it. And they wouldn’t cover it, so that’s crap.

    I called and got the okay for their plumber to be sent out, and I told them the issue and they made notes in the chart that I already had the part to fix it and that they would cover it. But then when their plumber came out, 2-10 said they were not gonna cover it. So, I’m not pleased with that at all. But prior to that, they’ve been very good. I’ve had good response out of them other than that.

    As far as the contractors, the guy they sent on the plumbing was agreeable. On an air conditioning event that occurred about a year ago, they sent out a complete idiot and he was terrible and he was with the company called Air Force One. And I had to call them back to tell them that their guy was not doing his job. They sent out a second guy and he did fine.

    We have had two claims to 2-10. One was for hot water heater, which was fine. But the last one, our microwave went out. It ended up I had to make five calls before I had somebody to actually respond. The first call, I was given someone that has been off their list for about four months. And I ended up contacting them after about five hours, and that was when they told me they weren’t on the list, so I had to call back again.

    The second one, it was an answering machine and the person never called back. The third one was an answering machine too. But the third one is the one that I had gone with, but they could not come out for about a week and a half. They wanted me to pay the $100 upfront and I didn't really want to do that. I did not know they were coming back, so I called again. And the fourth one was an answering machine. So, it was really the fifth call. I think 2-10 had already contacted them back again and have set it up for me. And so, I ended up calling them and sending them the $100 and make the appointment, which is Monday. And then they'll have the guy go and order the parts or order the microwave, so it’s probably another week. But I didn't have a problem talking to the service people. They were all very nice.

    The pump in the pool was leaking and I submitted the claim online to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. It was easy navigating through the website but it just didn’t have enough choices. It was very good dealing with the contractors and the first time they came, they decided what they were gonna do. The second guy came out and decided that was not what was wrong. Then, the third guy came out with the parts. He did the fix, but I had two guys come with two different opinions and troubleshooting over the phone with a supervisor.

    We put the claim in on Monday and it did not get fixed till about 8 days later. No one contacted me and I was waiting. The plumbing company said we would have to get verification from 2-10 and then we could pick up the hot water heater. So, Monday was done, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday went by. I called the plumbing company and they said that they still have not received the pick-up order from 2-10. I called 2-10 and they said that they didn’t know why the plumbing company didn’t pick it up themselves. They could go buy it and 2-10 would reimburse them. So, I called the plumber back and I said exactly that. The plumber said they didn’t know why 2-10 said that and that it has happened before.

    The plumber picks it up and then gets reimbursed, or 2-10 buys and then they go pick it up. So, whoever the snafu it was on, I was made to suffer. Basically, 2-10 said that it was all they could do, so my wife and kids and I have to heat up water on the stove, put it in the bathtub and take a bath that way for over a week. It was aggravating. but it was frustrating because we couldn’t do anything with hot water. There was no follow-up on either end although the plumber did say it will take three days for us to get the actual request from 2-10.

    On the third day, I had to call because the guy said 2-10 was usually quick. It should be in one or two days. However, 2-10 put it back on the plumber. I had to do all this legwork back and forth to figure out where my hot water heater was. The only positive is when I sent it to the warehouse supervisor, he gave me his personal desk number that you contact so it wouldn’t have to go to the central hub and get you transferred and transferred. I was relying on both 2-10 and the plumbing company to the word but both of them thought they were sitting on each other’s heels and waiting for one to do something. Other than that, the plumbers were great and 2-10 was nice. When I called the plumber, they were out there that evening to look at it and verify that the hot water heater was no longer functional. They were quick and efficient.

    The hot water heater works now. The water is a little too high, but it works great. Had it been a microwave or something that we could’ve lived without, that would've been one thing, but this is water. I would recommend 2-10 because in the end, the hot water heater got replaced and I didn't have to pay for anything as far as the parts or the labor. So, other than just being without that luxury, the experience was good.

When I went to replace mode, they said the unit was capped at $400, when I was under the impression that if 2-10 couldn't repair it, they would replace it. The contractor was also under the same impression. I've got a problem with 2-10 and their lack of transparency. I didn't hear about any $400 cap on the appliances when I bought the insurance. I'm very dissatisfied that it wasn't made clear from the onset. They were pushing a repair and a replace policy and that was what they sold me.

    The process and the timeline were all good, except when I had an issue. I had to go around a ring around the Rosie with the phones and with different people. I couldn't get a resolution until later. So, after I came to the conclusion that I had to buy a unit, I spoke to the rep and she allowed me to buy another policy that covered the appliances for repair and replace like I initially wanted. Other than that, I'm happy with their service. The transaction and the response time of the repairman were excellent.

    There are always issues with a new house and 2-10 was the company that was suggested after our one year. We made a claim when we had a leak in the dining room when we used the shower. I called them and it was very quick, but everything was fine. The rep told me that the contractor would call us within 24 hours. If not, we should call them within 48 hours. I got an email with all the information but the contractor called me and came out that same day. He showed me everything and the interaction was very good. We’ve used 2-10 about eight times in the past year and a half. So, it worked out well. The experience was efficient, the problem was resolved quickly and people should get 2-10. Most of my neighbors have.

    The first time I called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, the guy didn't know what to do and he didn't do anything. Then, he came back a second time and didn't work on anything. He was a young guy and came with a supervisor. They just changed the plug and hours later, it just did the same thing. So, I had to call a third time, I sent for a different electrician and they charged me the fee again. I paid twice for the fee and then, the system broke down but I had spoken to the electrician that came. I had to call him a fourth time and he came and solved the problem. He was very thorough, and he showed and explained everything to me.

    I got charged excessively and I still had to pay the two fees. When the second one came in and I called for the follow-up, the rep told me that my warranty to call back has expired. It wasn’t even a week. If I’m gonna get charged every time I call, I might just take all the money that I spent and pay for it myself, which a part of it, I had to. The electrician just switched the breakers and didn't do anything else. 2-10 covered 500 bucks and I ended up paying 950 bucks more for three breaker switches.

    We’ve been with 2-10 for six years and four months and I usually go online to submit a claim. Sometimes, if it gets too cumbersome to get around the website, I just call. I get a pretty fast response when I speak to the 2-10 people but it depends on who I call, whether they show up and how fast they follow up. I've had one situation where they didn't even call. They called two weeks later which was already too late. One of the repairs that they didn’t complete was a refrigerator and it was a little bothersome. Then, they wanted to charge me a fortune for that. They didn't fix what I had requested but they did fix an issue. Other than that, I like the comfort and the fallback position that you can call somebody or go online and see.

    We had some systems, like our AC, that are super old. We figured at some point they're gonna go out and we needed to have some coverage. We have lots of kids and don't always have the funds to make a big purchase. So we got 2-10 and submitting the claim is easy. It's just a couple of clicks and you're done. But we struggled a little bit with this last one, mostly because the first person we spoke to didn't cover everything that was supposed to be covered. I had to spend a lot of time going back and forth between different representatives to make sure that things that really should've been covered were covered.

    They tried to charge us about $1,000 worth of work, and it was really only about $200 worth of work we should've been paying for. I had the policy in front of me and it was clearly covered. So maybe some knowledge wasn't up-to-date or they didn't follow through. We were at the mercy of Home Buyers because it was for a hot water heater and we have several children and we didn't have hot water for a week. They couldn't get the part in. So, that was annoying. The service contractor couldn't just go buy the part and then be reimbursed. We had to wait for the hot water heater to come from Home Buyers. So, that was an ordeal. But, immediately when it came in, he was there and ready to do it. He didn't make us wait at all once he got the hot water heater. And the only other thing is how significantly our rates go up every year.

    I filed a claim over the phone for the filter in the pool and the first person I spoke with was only semi-helpful. They actually didn’t get the process started all the way. So I felt a little confused about it. I called back and spoke to somebody else, and they were able to provide me with better information. They pulled it up in the system and it showed that they hadn’t fully submitted the thing yet. So they went ahead and got the ball rolling. From that point on, everything was fine.

    The contractor called me on a Friday and they didn’t work on the weekend so it was the next Monday or Tuesday that they came out. Then the warranty company wanted to order the parts themselves instead of having the company do it, probably for cost savings on their end, and that added a few days to the process. But within a week from when the contractor came out, they came out and got it worked out. The filter seems to be good as new now. This is my second experience with 2-10 and I’ve been pretty satisfied overall. There are always nuances about what they cover and don’t. But all in all, I’ve been real happy with it. I would recommend them.

    My most recent claim with AHS was for a minor leak in some piping. The contractor came back out within three days and was able to take care of it. But for what I got out of it, it was a joke. It cost $75 just to have them come out and tell me what was wrong. And the warranty covered $400 of what the problem was. I would never ever pay for this warranty and I'm glad I didn't pay for it. I wouldn't recommend 2-10 to anybody. I think it's ridiculous.

    2-10 was offered as part of the mortgage paperwork. They picked it out and I was happy. I’ve had it for close to a month now and the process of submitting a claim was nice.     My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers' claim process has been horrible. I've tried submitting over the phone and online and they make it so difficult. If there is a claim, it's so hard to get accepted and they don't wanna pay out. They find an excuse to go, "Oh, no, that's not covered." I had a water leak after the water meter to the house that was there before I moved in so we called 2-10. They sent somebody out who told us that it was not covered because it's outside the house. Then this last time, it took four days before they got back to us. The contractors have been great though. It's 2-10 that's the problem and the contractors have to wait for 2-10 to approve anything. They're difficult to work with and they have a long response time. I would never use them again.

    The person who sold the house to me offered and bought 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for me the first year. Thus far, I love 2-10 and I feel very lucky to have gotten it. I didn’t have an inspector and didn’t realize when I bought the house that it was in bad shape. The home warranty is gonna save me a lot. It has saved me about two grand already and I have only lived in the house for less than six months. It has been really awesome for me and I sing the praises of 2-10 constantly.

    I normally call up and talk to somebody to submit claims and it’s fairly easy. Also, my experience with the people who actually work at 2-10 has been wonderful. I’m not on the phone for very long and normally get things done quickly. Furthermore, their reps have always been friendly and helpful. However, with the service contractors, the service I get depends on that person that’s working that day. Sometimes the interactions are great, but sometimes it’s a "We’ll see if the issue is actually fixed," kinda thing. Sometimes they aren’t very reliable or don’t call back very soon. Still, almost everything that needed to be fixed has been fixed.

    Recently, I had my AC repaired and I don’t know what the guy thought the problem was, but he said that he fixed something. But then, my AC is still not working correctly. It turned out that it was a refrigerant issue. On the other hand, the guy who fixed my dryer's electrical wiring problem showed up on time and got the job done. I'd recommend 2-10 to a lot of people because I've heard worse things about other companies that aren’t very receptive.

    When we bought the house about two years ago, 2-10's service was offered as part of the sale and then we continued with it. We mostly submit our claims over the phone and their reps are usually understanding and helpful. With their service contractors, however, our experience varies depending on the contractor. Some companies do better jobs than others. A big problem is that we’re dependent on having the service done by someone that 2-10 contracts out. It might be better if we could get somebody who is local here. Sometimes the service provider is quite a distance from here. Also, the local people are more familiar with these special problems that might occur in the area. They’re familiar with the housing and the structures in this area.

    When we purchased our home, the seller purchased the 2-10 warranty for us. It was for our peace of mind but when we had a claim, the experience was frustrating. Our experience submitting the claim was fine. But how they handled it, the hoops that we had to jump through and bouncing from person to person, was a pain the butt. They told me that there was nobody in our area that would work with them so I had to find my own contractor and have them evaluate the problem. Then I had to call in and the touch tone thing was a nightmare. It was super complicated. It ultimately ended up taking us to a person after trying it multiples times. We talked to one person about what we were doing and what we wanted to do but she couldn’t proceed so she gave it to another person with whom we had to go through all the same information again. It was extremely inefficient. Something that should have taken 10 minutes ended up taking almost an hour.

    We were trying to get our pool open for the season. The company that came out identified that the pump was bad so we had to replace it. I put in a service request with 2-10. I deal a lot with them. The claims process was really easy. I chose the company and it was a company that had previously serviced the pool from the previous owners. 2-10 let me continue using them. They're wonderful and super nice. They're very friendly and honest. If I could talk to everyone in this area who has a pool, I would tell them not to go to anybody else except them. They're just such an incredible company.

    The pool is working great now. But I was a little disappointed because 2-10 didn't cover the entire cost of the pump replacement. They cover up to $1,000 and $100 of that is the service fee to the company. I was only reimbursed $900 even though the pump replacement cost me $1,400. But overall, I would recommend 2-10 to a friend. We have two policies with them. We also purchased a policy with 2-10 for a townhouse that we own in the area.

    A month ago, I put in a claim for the refrigerator with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, but it hasn’t been fixed yet and I still have the same issue. It wasn’t cooling. I submitted the claim online because it’s hard to get 2-10 on the phone. You normally have a 30-minute wait to talk to somebody. I’ve had three different people come out and all they’ve done was to give me a diagnosis.

    The first contractor came out and told me that they were doing a diagnosis and ordering parts. 2-10 told me they ordered the part. Then another company came out, but they came out with no parts. They told me they didn’t know what was wrong with the refrigerator and that was the first that they heard of it. They told me that the refrigerator was no good and that they would contact 2-10. That went on for about a week and a half. I wound up calling and asking what was going. 2-10 told me that that contractor backed out of the job. They sent another contractor out who did another diagnosis. That was about a week and a half ago, and I haven’t heard back from them. 2-10 knows the issue. They keep telling me that they’re gonna fix it and send another contractor out, but the contractor just looks at the refrigerator and leaves.

    I’m not very happy with 2-10. My claim for a washing machine took about a month and a half. I had Home Shield before and I could call about the same problem, and it would be diagnosed and fixed in one week. I’m getting to the point where I don’t like the fact that if I cancel them, they’re still doing my air conditioning and structure warranty. That’s through the builder though. 2-10 is not a very good company. I should’ve looked at the reviews on them online before I decided to go with them. I noticed that a lot of people had the same problems that I’ve had.

    I closed my home on June 1st and 2-10 was what I had as a warranty. In submitting a claim, the experience was good but I’ve been waiting since the 14th of June for the company that 2-10 sent to do my electric. They sent an electrician to my house about two weeks ago and last Saturday, on the 6th, the light plate that they put on knocked out the power in my room, the master bedroom and the bathroom. They were supposed to come Thursday at 3 o'clock. We set this time with the contractor but he said he couldn't get out that day. They had some people who cancelled and they wanted me to get out of work earlier than the time that I told them I can get off work. They wanted me to be at home at 1:00 instead of at 3:00 but since I couldn't be at home at 1 o'clock, they canceled my appointment till Monday. So, I have to go this weekend with no light. I couldn't sleep in my room, turn the light on or use my bathroom because there is no power in there.

    I was so frustrated. I called 2-10 yesterday to complain about the company. Hopefully, we'll get that resolved but I told 2-10 that if I ever have any more electricity problems to not send a company and that we're dealing with it. I'm still waiting on to see what's going on with my oven. I haven't been able to cook in over a month. So, I've just been waiting to cook using the stove. When I called on Tuesday to complain about the electrician contractor, I asked how long it would take for them to send me the check for the oven. The guy said that they sent that out on June 14th but I haven’t received it. He said that if I don't receive it by today, I'm supposed to call him back by this evening and let them know. 2-10 has been on it but out of the three things that I needed, the refrigerator is the only thing that’s working fine.

    I closed on my house the end of May and I’ve been with 2-10 for two months. Recently, I thought something was wrong with the socket. It was a four-prong outlet and I had a three-prong plug. I already bought the plug for it. So, I thought something was wrong. When I tried to stick the full prong into it, it didn’t start my dryer and I thought it was messed up. The contractor came, just plugged the thing up and got it working. He still charged me $80 which was the trade fee. Other than that, the experience with 2-10 was okay.

    We've been with 2-10 for a long time and we haven't used it that much but when we've had, we’ve had good experiences with the contractors. On my most recent claim, 2-10 worked out fine. But the person who provided the service was unimpressive. We haven't had an issue with 2-10. I don’t know if 2-10 knows that it was over 30 days before the water heater was repaired. We were without hot water for more than 30 days. And we’ve had other vendors from 2-10 provide service and this was not a great experience. I would not want to have them again.

    They sent several people out. The first person was not sure what the problem was. He was a nice man. But we never had a problem with the heater leaking until probably three weeks into it. So, we don’t know if they caused the leaking. Initially, we just said there was no hot water. But they couldn’t figure the issue out. They brought in someone else, but he couldn’t figure it out. Then we waited like a week and a half for them to order a part. And then, it was another few days before they came in.

    What was most upsetting was these two gentlemen came late in the afternoon of July 3rd. We thought it was supposed to be fixed that day. We waited another week and a half for the part, right till it was supposed to be finished. The guy asked us at 5:30 if we have a washer. When we told him we didn't, he said he was gonna go down to his truck and see if he could find one. Twenty minutes later, he came back and said he didn't have it and he had to come back on Friday, July 5th. So, that was another day without hot water. So, we waited. We called mid-day on the 5th and asked when the gentleman was coming back. And they said he was on vacation. So, that was another weekend with no hot water.

    Other than that, my mother said that the last two gentlemen who came on the last day seemed capable, they did a good, and they replaced the water heater. But we’d have a little bit of a bad taste in our mouth for having no hot water for more than a month. And the contractor did make us pay a second $100. don’t believe that it was a separate thing. But I called 2-10 and they said, “Well, that’s what they say, so would you pay it?” So, we paid it. But I think it was deceptive on their part because it was the same problem the whole time. But in the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t that big a deal. It was just that it struck me as dishonesty.

    The worst. It's been 6 weeks and I'm still without A/C. I place service request in May, 2-10 sent a contractor out, they put 3lbs of R22 in my system it cooled my home for one week. I phone 2-10 and notified them that my A/C isn't working again, they sent out a contractor who told me there was nothing they could do until I had my condenser coil professionally clean, did that at $194. Call 2-10 who sent out a contractor who stated your A/C is unfixable. I knew some paperwork had to take place, so I wait a couple of days than called 2-10 who stated I had to authorize out of pocket cost before they'd move forward (luckily I called or I be sitting waiting for 2-10).

    I agreed to out of pocket $402, a week passes I called 2-10 who stated parts have been ordered and should arrive in 3-5 days, but there's an additional $399 cost. I called the contractor to discuss the extra cost they say no it's not $399 its $2200. I called 2-10 who states its the original $402 and a additional $829. In the meantime I get a voice mail from 2-10 stating it will be an additional $1500-$1700. I called 2-10, who's number I now know by heart. 2-10 states it'll be the $402+$2200, at this point I'm frustrated and without A/C for 5 weeks, I authorize to pay all required cost (stated in May its now July), when I authorize cost 2-10 told me unit should be delivered to contractor on Monday. Wednesday came, I called 2-10 who gave me the phone runaround then told me the parts were just ordered and it will take 3-5 days to be delivered!

    Week 6 and still no A/C. 2-10 is the worst! They're great if nothing breaks. Once you need them they're nowhere to be found. They don't call to keep you post. If you don't call them you could be sitting at home for weeks wondering. Every time you call you'll talk to a different person, who'll provide different cost, shipping dates, what's covered. It crazy! And don't forget I had to take off work three different times and pay $75 each time. 2-10 is a racket that preys on paying customers when we need them the most. If you don't have 2-10, don't get 2-10. I hear from my coworkers that American Home Shield is 100% better than 2-10. Almost everyday for 6 weeks my coworkers ask "do you have A/C yet?" 6 weeks and counting....

    I had an issue with a toilet that would run all the time. I submitted a claim to 2-10 and once they sent me the email, the contractor came out the next day. I had a very good experience with their plumber. He also found the pressure regulator was broken. So the water pressure was very high in the house, way over what it should be. However, I had some issues as the fill valve would come undone when I flush the toilet and it would start running again. After I flush four or five times, the valve would be laying in the toilet again and it would be running all the time. I opened the tank and tried to fix it myself by twisting it back on but then it would do it again. Still, it seems like I got it on tight enough that it’s not doing that now.

In 2012, we filed a claim to replace a water heater and then we had to pay over $400 to upgrade our pipes up to code. However, the plumber ripped us off because nothing was replaced. We’re elderly so we didn’t double check his work. We trusted it being that it went through the insurance. But it was a good learning experience. And then this time, things went fine. The people that they have now from Visalia Plumbing are excellent. All the work was done, and we paid our cost.

    My water heater flooded my house. We called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and they were good in helping us handle our situation. Somebody called me within an hour on the same day and then they were out in an hour and a half. The contractor had good professionalism and was very knowledgeable. He took care of the situation and we had to order a part. However, the whole experience of replacing the water heater was not very good. I was walking in water and they told me, “Oh, this is not covered, and that, you have to pay out of pocket.” There were a lot of things that were not covered and I had 12,280 that had to come out of pocket. Plus, I also got a total of 6,000 plus just in repairs, and not counting the water heater and water damage that I have to deal with. Other than that, the water heater is working well now.

    For 11 months now, I've had 2-10 coverage. The seller of the house had included it in the purchase of my home. Submitting a claim is pretty easy since you can do it online. Customer service has been fine. We’ve put in three or four claims total this year and we’ve had mixed results. In one or two cases, they didn't have a provider in our area to service the claim. We had to do the legwork on our own and try to find somebody outside of their network.

    The first service provider that was assigned by 2-10 never called us and they didn’t return any phone calls. I ended up having to go get an authorization to find somebody else on my own. The one I found was fine. Prior to that, we had a water heater issue. The service provider from 2-10 did an okay job but the service workers themselves were pretty rude. I left a negative review of them online.

    For the most recent claim we had, the ice maker in our refrigerator went bad. I was a little disappointed to hear that 2-10 thought it was an acceptable solution to try to look for parts on eBay as a resolution. They were ultimately unable to find any. But just knowing that parts could be coming from anywhere and going into my home didn't seem very good. It was an ice maker and my family eats and drinks from that.

    2-10 was included in the purchase of my house and I’ve been with them since December. I can do the claims online but I just call. I’m on the phone for three minutes and it’s all done. It takes me longer on the website. The claims reps were very personable and helpful but the contractors were a little rude.     After I was in this house for about a month, the washer started making some loud noises and smoking. It even set off my fire alarm. So I called the home warranty company and they had someone come out and diagnose it. He pulled my washer out and I told him what it was doing then he stayed until he actually got the same results that I had told him about. He didn't just come in and leave within 10 minutes. He was here for a good half hour. So he was very thorough. He knew exactly what had to be replaced. He was excellent.

    2-10 decided that it was very expensive to fix the washer and they were going to replace it. But the machine they were gonna replace it with would not fit into my space. I’m in a condo so it’s kinda tight. So instead of providing me with a washer, they provided me with a check. I had to make five phone calls to get it straightened out. But the check actually came in the mail pretty fast. I was a little bit surprised. Everything is working good now too.

    We had a house inspection recently and they noticed that my waste line was leaking, which I didn't know. I called 2-10 to file a claim but I had to wait on hold for 35 minutes, which was unpleasant. They said that they didn't have anybody in my area so I had to get a contractor. I had to call about 10 contractors because everybody was busy with all the flooding in the area. But I finally got one that was able to do it in a week and a half and that was the earliest I could have it done.

    The whole claim to me was a joke because the total cost was $3,725. They claimed that they paid $500 of it, which I only got a check for $411, and I didn't think that the warranty was really worth it. I had a leak in the bathtub too. The contractors had to cut a zigzag in my ceiling, cut the whole corner out of my wall in the living room, which I had been finally patching. I got a fellow to come in and do the work. I had to pay out of pocket. All in all, I'm not happy with 2-10.

    I did a recent claim with 2-10 over the phone, which is easy to do sometimes but other times there are long wait times. This recent issue is with the recirculating pump on top of the water heater, and it didn't get a favorable response. The plumbing outfit who had come out here to look at the water heater basically said that it needed to be replaced. The plumber tried to submit the claim through 2-10 then it took about 10 days to get a response from them. And they never actually contacted me. They said that they did, but they didn't. It was the plumber who said that 2-10 denied the claim. I called 2-10, and they then confirmed that it wasn’t covered on the home warranty policy.

    I know that not everything is covered and there are limits to what are covered. However, since that was part of the house when we purchased it four and a half years ago and started with 2-10, I would have thought that it would have been covered. But the recirculating pump is not a common thing. It recirculates hot water through the house on a continuous basis, and not everybody has that on their water heaters. So, in a way, I can understand. And having dealt with 2-10 over the last four and a half years, I only had one other occasion where I had some difficulties with them. It's just that it would’ve been nice if that pump had been covered.

    2-10 was given to us as a gift when we bought our house which was in August two years ago. I just called 2-10 to submit a claim and interacting with the claims rep was very good. She was very helpful. They told us that the contractor would be in touch which normally takes 24 hours. Most of the contractors were prompt in calling and you just have to get in line like everybody else. Hopefully, it'll be sooner than later and they would try to get out to see you to estimate the problem. We had people who were very forthcoming and let us know exactly what they thought the problem was, and we had others who came and couldn't speak English.

    In the beginning, I was very dissatisfied because we were without refrigeration for a month and we were living out of a cooler, so it was very difficult to maintain the house. 2-10 finally helped us solve the problem but it took forever and then, we went and bought a refrigerator ourselves. If we had not done that, it would've been longer than a month. The refrigerator is working fine and this is the first time we've had any kind of catastrophic loss of any of the equipment in the house that they cover. I'm not totally dissatisfied with them, it's just sometimes you run into a more serious situation.

    I am with 2-10 for the last 15 years. I’m staying with the same product because I don’t want to switch. They are giving an okay price - not a good price, but it’s an okay price. They are also giving some discounts. That’s the reason I’m sticking with them. Otherwise, I would have moved out. Submitting a claim with 2-10 is good. Right now, they improved a lot. I used to be calling and now I can do it online. But most of the tools online are not good right now. For example, recently, I had a claim for a clogged sink and there is no option in the selection for it. I looked around so many times here and there but I could not find it. Sink is clogged and water is not going out, but the option is leaking which is not even related. I was really confused. It’s not a leakage. It’s clogged. They have to improve a lot on the website.

    Overall, I’m fine with the 2-10 and I will recommend them, but they have to choose a good service provider. I just submitted a claim for the kitchen and they said it was an emergency. Then they said they were not available. They could only come out in 2 or 3 days so we have to wait and that’s not acceptable with me.

    This is the first time that I had to submit a claim with 2-10 and they were very helpful when I called. A service provider called within a day or two. But then I have had issues with the service providers. The claim was for a washer and dryer, and the first gentleman that came out to diagnose the issue said he can fix the dryer but not the washer. So we had a second opinion and someone came out and looked at the washer. He said he could fix it. There were parts that had to be ordered. So I had two different companies who were working with the dryer and the washer. That was several weeks ago. This week, I called and left messages for both service providers and never heard back.

    I called 2-10 today and the lady in customer service was very helpful. She said she called them but she wasn't getting much of a response. She sent me over to a different department, which might have been their parts purchasing. I spoke with the gentleman there, who then put me on hold while he called the two service providers. He said that they will be calling me in the next day or two to schedule an appointment.

    And so far, I have heard from CTI about the dryer. They called but I wasn't here so they left a message that they would be coming tomorrow at 7 PM. I returned the call but it said they weren't accepting calls at this time. So I texted the number which I got a text message from at one point. But I haven't been able to confirm my appointment with them. With all that, I would tell people to try a different company. Everybody at 2-10 may have been very pleasant and helpful but the service providers that they're working with have been non-responsive and very difficult to work with.

    When we bought the house, we wanted a warranty because it’s not a new build. Then our hot water heater went out on a Sunday and I filed with 2-10. It was easy to submit a claim but the contractor called the next day and said the service would be on Tuesday but I told them that was unacceptable. The guy at 2-10 even agreed it was an emergency. The contractor came back with Tuesday morning, which was still unacceptable. Then he found somebody else that would come out Monday. But we had to pay them an extra $100 on top of the $70 deductible to get it replaced that day. It was a surprise because we had paid the $70 and that was what I expected. My expectation was that it was an emergency and that it would be fixed that day.

    The contractor explained that they submitted the report to 2-10 and 2-10 cuts them a purchase order to purchase the parts, which takes a day. But if we paid the extra $100, then they would put it on their tab, go buy the part and put it in that day, which he did. It got done that day and if it would have gotten fixed that day without paying $100, it would’ve been perfect.

    Our water heater went out on a Friday. I called 2-10 and asked if I could get it expedited to get somebody out, but we ended up going five days without hot water. It was bad. But once the contractors arrived, they did good. They replaced the water heater and it has been working perfectly since.

The contractor came out and did an inspection. They saw that the water heater was bad and they talked to 2-10 and found a replacement. But it took a while for the replacement to come in.

    When I bought my home back in 2011, it was suggested to have a warranty in place. The seller gave me my first year with 2-10 and I continued to renew after that. I call them to submit claims and they would have somebody call me and set up an appointment. Their reps seem knowledgeable and they get me what I need. The contractor would then show up and take care of the business. The last claim that I did was a recall because they had done some work last year and I wasn’t satisfied with it. I called and I let them know what was going on. They came back and did the work for free. So far, the people that I’ve dealt with have been pretty good. However, I spend a lot of money every year to have 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve used it since 2011. That’s a lot of money and the price is not going down. It’s going up. But other than that, I've had a good experience so far.

    2-10 is worth every penny. I had used them a couple of times on my previous house and I was pretty happy with what they have been doing. Between both houses, I've had 2-10 since 2012. Submitting claims is real easy. I go into the website, pick the subject, put in my notes, and then I’m off to the races. The one thing that is a little difficult is finding out exactly what subject to pick. Sometimes it’s easy like when my sump pump went out. But when my air conditioner was leaking all over the floor, it was kind of a plumbing issue but also kind of an air-conditioning issue. So sometimes, figuring out what actually my problem is is tricky. What I like to see is not all of the options at once but when you pick an option, having more kind of categories for things would be very helpful.

    The most recent one that we were calling about with the sump pump, it asked for the sump pump manufacturer, the horsepower, the year it was installed, the number of times it has been operating, etc. The sump pump is submerged in like 3 feet of water ‘cause it’s just dead and was full. So I couldn’t fill out any of that stuff. If I leave it blank, then it doesn’t let me submit it and that’s kinda silly and can cause some frustration. Another thing I would request is it’d be also nice to just put a star next to the ones that are essential, like my name, my address and the description of the problem, and then have those other boxes if I have additional details that I can provide to the service claim person. It would cause less stress for me. I was able to get through it, but that would be my suggestion - to require it as optional fields.

    The 3 times I’ve called them on this house, the contractors were very professional. You can tell that they’ve been vetted. I have heard from other contractors and service-work folks that I have that it takes a very specific kind of contractor to use them. The people that don’t use 2-10 or the home buyers warranties kind of tend to look down on the contractors that do. But the contractors that do seem to be just as good, if not better, as the people that they’re being looked down on. I’ve been really impressed.

    For my most recent experience, it was just great! The contractor that came brought a new guy that he was training. He was talking through things. He had a really good mindset for things. He had all the right parts prepared on the truck. He just came right in, did exactly what he needed to do and talked me through the process. It was a textbook ideal experience. He communicated well and listened well. He was confident and quick. It was perfect!

    2-10 can do better with their claims process. I don't know where the issues are because once we raise a claim, within 24 hours to 48 hours, the contractor comes in. He sends them the diagnosis and the parts we need to order, then they order it. But for my recent claim, they said that the parts would be ordered within 3 to 5 business days and I didn't hear back for three weeks from them.

    For my air conditioner during the summer, it took close to seven weeks for them to get in the parts and get it fixed by the contractor. My neighbor had a similar issue from some other insurance company and they got it fixed within two weeks. Still, the process is too long. Similarly, because of that, there was some fluctuation because my AC went out, so my refrigerator is out as well. And I started this claim in mid-June but until now, my two claims are still open for the past one month. So I have no refrigerator and they're saying that I need to reach out to the contractors.

    Even the customer service of 2-10 can use some help. Yesterday, I asked for an ETA and I got bounced to different departments at 2-10. I spoke to three different people and no one knew the ETA. Plus, I was on call for 1 hour and 45 minutes. They said the parts are not in yet and the contractor has not responded. They also said the contractor will reach out to me once they have the parts but it's not the contractor's fault.

    All in all, I won't be with 2-10 after this September and I’m not gonna recommend them to anyone at all. I've raised four claims with them so far and everything takes a minimum of five to six weeks to resolve. And every time, they put it on the contractor saying that they ordered the wrong part. One time, that was what they told me but I told them that I didn't think that the contractor ordered it wrongly because he took the picture and sent it to them. Clearly, they ordered the wrong part and they tried to blame it on the contractor.

    The house that we purchased was 20 years old. We needed a home warranty and we got one from 2-10. The first few times that we had a claim with them, things went fine. But with the last one, not so much. It was the plumbing issue and we went without hot water for two weeks. We submitted the claim over the phone and we had a problem with the turnaround time with the contractor. And when they came out and had to order the part, to took a while for them to get it. But we found a plumber friend doing it and we purchased the part, then 2-10 gave us a check.

    I bought a house and it needed some things done to it. Instead of the seller doing it, they said, “We’ll buy a home warranty plan for you.” There are home warranty parts that they wanna cover but it didn’t cover everything I needed covered, so I had to upgrade it and have other items put on there. If the air conditioner or the heater system goes out down the road, and with the seller not being honest, I needed some sort of an insurance to cover me. 2-10 was the cheapest one for the realtors and they chose it.

    When I submitted claims to 2-10, the people didn’t know what they were doing. I also don’t like the online stuff as I like to talk to a real person. And with the contractor they sent out to me, I could have trained a two-year old monkey to do a better job than what the guy did. There were two claims and there was one on my icemaker in my other refrigerator. He goes, “Oh, it just froze up. You’re gonna have to defrost your refrigerator.” If I got a refrigerator that’s out, and one that’s not working properly, I couldn’t do that. If only we were able to get our icemaker working properly. Then as far as the other one, he ran no tests on it and said that the compressor was no good. He plugged it in the wall, it tripped the breaker, and that was all he did to it. Then he said, “Oh, it’s gotta be your compressor and they won’t let me replace it. They’re gonna have to get you another one.”

    I had to pay $100 for that clown to come out as for what the contract states and then he told 2-10 that the refrigerator is no good and charged them $241. Then 2-10 went along and told me that the maximum replacement value of the refrigerator was $500, which is a bunch of hogwash to me. What I read on the contract was, if they can’t fix it, they will replace it. But now, I gotta replace a refrigerator for $259. I’m not happy. I’ve dealt with other companies like them and they pretty much stuck with me. They gave us calls and saw how things were going. Yet I heard nothing from the 2-10 people.

    2-10 never called me. The only way I had any communication is by me calling them. I had to call them to find out what they were going to do and I was told that somebody would get in touch with me within 7 to 10 business days. I waited that time and nobody got in touch with me. So, I gave them a call on a Saturday, and a guy there said, “Oh, you gotta call replacement,” or the title of the place he wanted me to call. I waited till Monday, called them, and that’s when they told me that they were gonna replace my refrigerator for $259 and they would send me a check. So, they just lost a customer. My contract expires on July 26th and I will not renew with this company even if they gave me a year.

    I shopped around for home warranty and found 2-10's prices to be more competitive than others. They covered more too. And now, I've had them for about seven months. Recently, I spoke to their rep to file a claim for my washer and they were awesome. They were professional and very knowledgeable. I thought the washer was not covered, so they took a couple of minutes and went through the policy, then they found out it was covered. The washer was leaking water and was making a knocking noise as it went to a certain spin cycle. The 2-10 contractor came out quickly and diagnosed it. They were very good. They found the problem right away. 2-10 then stepped in and gave me the opportunity to replace it. They said that would probably take 10 to 14 business days, but it actually came out in two days. I was very surprised. I've never seen anybody turn around and pay in two days.

    I filed a claim online for a leak we had in the water heater and then I called in as well, to make sure it went through. The person who came out was a nice guy and he did a good job. He got the job done really quickly too. It took about a week for the water heater to get there and we've had no issues so far. But when I had to put an AC claim in, 2-10 didn’t really send out contractors for it. I guess they didn’t update their system and they didn’t know that the first company that they sent out was no longer taking claims. I tried to call the company six times but nobody answered and this was over a three-day period. It was the weekend and then Monday. But eventually, I was able to get ahold of 2-10 again and they sent somebody else out.

    My water heater was leaking and stopped producing hot water. I called 2-10 and filed a claim. The water heater was old and so it had to be replaced. It was done in a timely manner and the water heater has been working fine since. I also have an outstanding claim for a commode in a powder room that had to be removed because of the leak. There was some water damage so my insurance company is paying for that. The home warranty should be paying for the new commode but they had to wait until the work is done. It's not 2-10 Home Buyers' fault though. I'm satisfied with them and I keep using the warranty. But more recently, when submitting a claim, it's gone to a telephone tree and it's not as user-friendly. I have to explain what the claim is in a few words and it's not as good as talking to a person. But generally, the claims process goes pretty well.

    When I got a new house, a friend recommended that I get a warranty through 2-10. I called due to a pool pump that failed and they were able to work with the same company that I worked with before in our local area. They are top-notch contractors. The pool pump was replaced with a better one, and it’s good to go now. A couple of times, though, we had issues with the air conditioner and it took so long to get the process completed. I was happy with the work in the end and I feel like 2-10 did a good job of covering everything, but sometimes, it would them take too long in the summer. It was like two and a half weeks with no air conditioning, which was terrible. 2-10 said they were just super busy and they couldn’t help it. Anything else worked out great.

    This company is a joke. Have a fridge that isn’t working. We’ve had the ticket open for 2 weeks now and still no answer. They’ve had 3 different companies look at it, all say it's not worth fixing. All 2-10 has been saying is that they haven’t received a diagnosis yet. Talked to Duncan, a supervisor, said he would follow up with me the next day. Called him two days later because he hasn’t responded and when I try to call to reach him, everyone says they don’t know who Duncan is. Still without a fridge.

    I've been having an issue with my air condition units since March. It's not getting cold. Four technicians have been out to my house. No one have been able to diagnosis the problem. Home warranty went with another company. They cancel the appointment the day of. I have spoken with many Representative and claims manager which were very rude toward me and not at all concern about a resolution.

    The icemaker of my refrigerator wasn’t working. I filed a claim online with 2-10 and the rep they sent out to do the work was good. He walked in, analyzed the issue, and told me what was going on. But a part they needed for the electronic part of the fridge was not in stock anymore, so they had to replace the whole fridge. They got me a brand-new fridge and it’s been comparable. So, 2-10 was really good on the appliance side. But they were not so good on the plumbing side.

    I have 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, but you have to watch who you are given and you need to research home warranty people. I was asked to include in 2-10 when I purchased my house about eight years ago. My husband was in the military, so I knew he wouldn’t be around to fix everything and at that point, I didn't know any better because it was my first home that I bought. My understanding was that 2-10 was one of the only ones in the area that I had. Submitting a claim to 2-10 has gotten better over the years and I’ve had the warranty for almost eight years now. I can do everything online and things like that are a little bit easier now. However, I wish I could choose my vendor. For instance, there are some that unfortunately I don't care for because it either takes them too long or I haven’t had really good luck with them, so I would prefer them not to work on my house anymore.

    With the very first vendor, I kept telling them my sump pump in my basement area was not working correctly but they kept telling 2-10 that it’s working. All I have to do is jiggle it but one doesn't have to jiggle anything. It flooded my basement and I had over a thousand dollars’ worth of damage. I was pissed. Then 2-10 said they couldn’t do anything, which ticked me off too because I thought that they're going off of their sub-contractors, and I couldn’t do anything. Then, that same sub-contractor, when my toilet was not working, came out and told me that it didn't have a flange. It was the piece that attaches it to the floor. They also said that it wasn’t covered. I had another plumber come out on my own expense who told me that the flange was there but it was really corroded. So, I’m out of pocket $600 because I had to pay another company to come in for what 2-10 should've done.

    We always acquire a warranty when we buy a home, but we’ve never used 2-10 before. Our real estate agent told us about 2-10 and told us that he had been having good luck with people who signed up with them. They are reasonably priced, responsive to service calls, and their deductibles are not bad. We've had them now for about six months and we've had good experience when submitting a claim. We do it online and we find their site to be user-friendly. We've also had great experience with their contractors so far. Overall, we've had a very good experience with 2-10.

    We just hit one year with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty on the 26th of June. We didn’t use it until the last month, and then we used twice. We didn’t need the warranty for the first 11 months, but once we did need it, we were glad we had it. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have had the money to fix all the other mess. I really wasn’t sure I needed the warranty. I had an American Home Shield warranty 20 years ago and it was horrible. I canceled it after the first month. Two things didn’t work and I called, but both of them weren’t under coverage. I didn’t really believe in home warranties, but I work at a title company we do a lot of closings with warranties, and 2-10 is by far who all of our Realtors talk the highest of.

    The contractors that they've sent out have been nice. My best friend owns an air condition company and she said that the air condition guy was knowledgeable. When he told me what was wrong, she was on the phone with me and making sure what he was saying was right. When my washing machine quit working, I filed my claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty over the phone and it was easy. The contractor said they thought it was the hot water valve. When the hot water valve was replaced, they said it was the pipe. It was actually the drain pump that didn’t work. Then, once they fixed the drain pump, the hot water wasn’t working. They took care of it quickly though. Plus, everybody was nice and courteous.

    2-10 is awesome. I would highly recommend it. Both times we’ve ever used them were on a Sunday and the contractor called me back Monday. That's pretty quick. The plumber was absolutely amazing. The other one, I didn’t care much when they first came. It wasn’t like, “Hey, what’s going on?” or anything. It was basically, they showed up and like, “No, we can’t do anything. We got a lot of these calls.” Then, they came back. I thought they were kind of sloppy.

    There was a bunch of new appliances in the house and the house hadn't been lived in. Additionally, I work overseas, so my wife is home by herself and I didn't want her worrying about that type of stuff while I'm away. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was the one that was offered while I was closing. When submitting claims, there’s an online portal. We would request it through there, and then they would match us up with a workman. Usually, they would say two days on when to expect the contractor. We had an issue with the refrigerator. All of a sudden, the feed from the ice maker stopped working and we could hear it vibrating around. So, we knew that it was a mechanical issue. The lady on the phone was very keen to address our issue and find the nearest contractor to fix our problem. Since the ice maker was repaired, it has been working fine. It was a positive experience with 2-10 and it was also hassle-free.

    Called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty because our AC was blowing air but not cold. Called them and they referred me to Total Air Care and found out we have a leak in our aluminum coil. To make the long story short it is now end of June and we still don't have a functioning AC. All because they did not follow up on Total Air Care when the company they referred failed to give them the diagnosis. If I did not call them, none of them would have bothered to ask what the diagnosis was.

    Every time I call it's like one employee does not know really what to do. I actually think they're just networking and people answering me were working from home. It's horrible! They don't deserve 1 star but that's the lowest I can give. I cannot agree with other people saying they were not put on hold over the phone. That's a bunch of lies. Oh by the way, that Total Air Care company they referred me was a disaster. TALKING ABOUT PUTTING YOU ON HOLD OVER THE PHONE, get ready to hold an hour. That company is a disaster. Which I don't know why 2-10 uses them really. To others, pls. do yourselves a favor and get another home warranty.

    The people that I've dealt with at 2-10 are courteous, nice and prompt. They're right on it. But other than that, when we renewed our policy, 2-10 lowered my policy and raised my rates and I didn't appreciate that. There is a place in small print where they lower our coverage at a higher price. And we were not aware of that until we had a claim and they said, "Well, you're gonna have to come up with $210 out of your own pocket because you're over your limit." So, I was very disappointed about that. Needless to say, we had to come up with $210 out of pocket to get the water heater put in. And that was unbeknown to us.

    We've got several companies out here. We've had the Pioneer Plumbing to put in the furnace and the air conditioner. They were okay. They did a fairly decent job. On the other hand, I had a little problem with Wildcat, but they finally came through, and then made it right after my son had to call. He called the lady that he knows that works for 2-10, and she got it straightened out. So, the air conditioner and the water heater have been all right. They finally made the water pressure like it was supposed to be. And then now, we are getting the damage fixed.

    I had them come out and look at two different things, the washing machine and the refrigerator. The washing machine, overall, I'm not overly pleased with whoever came out and looked at it. He came out and looked at the washing machine and told me that there was nothing wrong with it, except for the fact that, obviously, there was something wrong with it because it wouldn't go through the cycles, it would just stay in one spot. So, we ended up getting it fixed, but he wasn't really paying that much attention to it. And the refrigerator, it messed up my drywall in the kitchen where the refrigerator went. He scraped up the wall pretty good when he put it back. And he didn't really necessarily fix the refrigerator. There was water all over the floor when he was there. I'm not really sure where that was coming from. Overall with that, I didn't have the greatest experience with the contractors that 2-10 sent. But with 2-10, I'm happy.

    We bought the house four years ago and the residents had 2-10 and they were very pleased with 2-10 so we kept the policy. I wanted to have protection on the contents of my house, things that would wear out. I’ve been kind of around and around with them over the last four years. I’d submit a claim and it would be things that need to be taken care of right now, like sewage backing up into my bathroom. And it would be two or three days before somebody would even call about it. They said somebody would be in touch with you in 24 to 48 hours. I said, “That’s not good enough. This has got to be done now.” And since they wouldn’t let me get somebody to come and take care of it right then, I had to just go ahead and get it myself. Then I was given conflicting information about how to get reimbursed for it.

    We’ve had a problem with our plumbing every year, getting stopped up. Finally, we hired a plumber this year and he has fixed the problem. But we did it on our own. But 2-10 did reimburse me for the snaking, so I’m very pleased with that even though I did contact the person myself ‘cause it needed to be done right now. But the initial claim that we put in four years ago when we had that problem, the people they sent out there came out there and without my approval, they cut holes all in my ceilings and then nobody would reimburse me for that, so I was out several hundred dollars to get that repaired, and I’m still gonna have to get the ceiling on the bedroom downstairs completely redone, which is gonna be about $1,200 to have that done.

    It was the plumber’s fault because first of all, they didn’t know what they were doing. When I got there, there were all these holes in my house. I said, “Who’s going to fix this?” They said it was not their responsibility. They were just there to fix the problem, which they didn’t fix the problem. I didn’t blame 2-10 for that, except for the fact that the people they sent were incompetent.

    I got better service this year but said I wasn’t gonna renew my contract. I said, “I’m not happy with your service. I can’t get anything done, so no, I’m not going to renew.” Then the vice president called me and I have gotten 200% better service if that’s possible. And they even reimbursed me for some of the stuff that had happened and I appreciate that. So I’m not displeased at all. It’s just it has taken us four years to get to this place.

    I filed a claim on my air conditioner and the guy came out and fixed it, no problem. I had a wiring problem that I wasn't positive that they handled. Even though 90% of the wiring is in the house, in their rules, they don't pay for wiring outside of the house. And nobody was certain whether the wire that goes from inside the house to the air conditioning unit was actually covered. And I did file a claim and I spoke with the contractor and he explained all that to me. Since he wasn't sure if it was covered and it would have been very expensive to have him come from a long ways away, I just handled it myself. So that one I canceled.

    But other than that, I haven't had any trouble with 2-10. They're a pretty good company and I've had them for 17 years ever since I bought the house. I had one questionable incident that I had already filed a claim on one thing a long time ago and the repairman did a slapshot job, and it didn't hold. I had to have it done again, and 2-10 covered it because it had been approved and priorly covered. 2-10 is good.

    My swimming pool pump stopped working and it was throwing up sparks. I went online to submit a claim with 2-10 and it was easy. Then the contractor came out a week and a half later because they were busy. When they finally came out, their work was good quality. We also talked to the people at their office and had a good experience with them as well. We used them before, so we already knew them. Since the repair, the swimming pool pump has been performing well.

    But I’m still dealing with my dishwasher claim right now which I filed before the one for the swimming pool. The dishwasher broke and the appliance people came over and looked at it. They were trying to find a part and apparently, they couldn’t find it. So, they were gonna replace it. They sent the dishwasher over and when the appliance people came over to remove the old one and install the new one, they hit my water pipe and it started leaking. It went to the floor into the basement, to the carpet, and the techs didn’t know what to do. They just left while the water was still leaking, so I had to leave work and rush home to try to stop the water. After that, 2-10 sent a plumber to come and fix the pipe. And right now, we’re trying to figure out who’s gonna pay for the damage from that appliance people.

    When I talked to them, they said 2-10 was taking care of that. So, I’ve been working with a guy named Mendez from 2-10's customer relations and he is working on trying to get a hold of the plumber to find out. I was informed that it was apparent from the pictures I sent that it was normal wear and tear. But I don’t know how they could tell that since the appliance person put in the dishwasher and it leaked. So, they are waiting for the plumber that came out to give a diagnosis and once they do that, depending on that and if it went through, they were gonna send me the insurance information from the appliance people.

    Also, I’m trying not to put a claim into my insurance because it was not my fault and that will increase my home insurance. That shouldn’t happen. And that was in mid June, so I’m still waiting. Other than that, 2-10 should also make sure that the subcontractors are good. I’ve had some bad ones that show up. The first time it happened, the guy was kinda rude and 2-10 reported him thing, then they sent another person out.

    I've been with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for a couple of years and their claims process has been okay and fairly straightforward. The guy that came out was great, but they ended up deciding that the washer and dryer were not worth fixing so they sent us money to replace it. But we’ve had some guys that are not so great and talked about the fact that they don’t get paid as much with the home warranty. I think some of the better repairmen don’t bother having contracts with 2-10 because they feel like they don’t get paid a fair price. And unfortunately, in our area, 2-10 was unable to find a microwave repair person. I have to make the call, but it would be nice if 2-10 suggest some people I could call. There were some hiccups, but my experience with 2-10 has been good. I'd recommend them.

    2-10 is the worst company ever. I called their agents and supervisors and had the worst customer service, especially in my situation where my wife is seven months pregnant. She needs to take hot showers but 2-10 took almost a month to send somebody to replace our water tank. Plus the supervisor made it sound like she was doing me a favor in replacing the tank. She was rude and unprofessional. The contractor for my AC claim was nicer, but overall I’m dissatisfied.

    I've been with 2-10 for three years now. They were the first one that contacted me and I thought it sounded good. The person who contacted me was very pleasant to talk to and had all the right answers. I filed a claim for my water heater and the work is done. I paid for it, but I’ve been in limbo with 2-10 going back and forth trying to get this revised submission to be paid for. Last I knew, 2-10 was waiting for the repairman to explain the extra 279 charges. When I called the plumbing place, they said the repairman has been out sick. The rep there asked if I would like them to CC me when they get his response and resend the bill to which I said yes. I received that two days ago, but I have not heard from 2-10 yet if they are gonna cover all of the expenses.

    There have been many phone calls. It’s hard to get through to 2-10 and get the right person. I have at least eight names that I’ve talked to concerning this, so it isn’t running smoothly as far as on the end of 2-10. I understand that they needed more information but that information has been given. Now, I’m waiting. I check my emails every day to see if they’ve said they received the information. That’s where the ball gets dropped on both ends - the plumber and 2-10. Nobody contacts the other one and says, “Thank you. I’ve received this.” That's why you’re left not knowing if anybody knows what’s going on.

    They sent a check with the date 6/25 but it wasn’t for full submission. Since then, I’ve been on the phone several times to try to get them to understand. I'm not cashing their check because they still owe me more. I’m waiting to hear back from them. That’s been the big glitch. I just wish that you could get through to them faster on the phone and get a response from the direct person that you should talk to since you get passed on and passed on.

    I was very happy that they sent the check right away, but they didn’t send the revised bill although they kept saying they would. They told me they sent it twice. I had to take a picture of it and send it to them. Even then, the next person I talked to, which was in the purchasing department, said they didn't see it on their computer and to go ahead and sent it again. I did. If they had had the resubmitted bill that was resubmitted, I would’ve gotten a full check. But it has been delayed.

    The person who we bought our house from kept the warranty with 2-10 going and we've had them for about 6 years now. In a recent claim with our water heater, we ended up not getting the claim with 2-10 because it was gonna take too long. The wrong part was ordered and the contractor wasn't gonna be able to get to us for another week. We were gonna be without running water for over a week and so I called another contractor on my own then paid out of pocket, although 2-10 gave us a couple of hundred dollars. I wasn't very happy with the service. The contractor was difficult and we've also had some issues with some other people at 2-10 not following through. When we had the air conditioner issue, we needed a part and we went through 2-10. It took more than a month to get the AC fixed.

    We had 2-10 for our old home and for our current one because we used the same realtor. When we sold that house and the contract expired, they were really good about giving us a credit for the remaining amount that we had paid for. We’ve always been satisfied with 2-10 because we’ve had other claims and our experiences had been great. When we had an issue with our air conditioning, we called 2-10 about it. Then, with the refrigerator and the oven, we submitted the claims online. Both ways were really easy and on their end, things have been fantastic.

    The problem has to do with the individual vendors that they use. For our most recent claim, we were dissatisfied with the person that 2-10 sent out because it took him a long time to get a certain part that he told us we needed. Then, once he received it and he was gonna come and install it, he asked us if no one told us to defrost our freezer before that and they didn’t. Then he said that the other thing he saw was gonna be fixed, but they were still waiting on something else. So now, it’s been a couple of weeks and we have not heard from the contractor despite following up. So, our refrigerator is still not fixed. Despite that, we have 2-10 for five years between two houses and I have recommended them to other people.

    We had a leaking shower valve and a plumber was sent out and diagnosed that a new valve would need to be replaced.The contract states under the basic coverage that valves are covered up to $500. We have the supreme protection. HB 2-10 is calling this replacement a modification and only willing to pay $150 for this repair. Now a modification is a change to what is existing, there is no modification in this case only a replacement repair that is going to have to be cut out from behind the wall, sweated on and the drywall replaced. Oh, by the way, HB 2-10 will not repair the drywall either. We will be canceling our policy.. This is the second incident we have had with this company. Customer service is also very poor.     The tenant occupying the house noticed water on the floor. The actual water heater failed and started leaking. I usually submit claims with 2-10 online but I called in the last time, and it was not great. I got the information on the contractor that would be coming out the next day. But when the contractor showed up, he didn't let us know that he was coming and the tenant wasn't home. Her grandchildren were there, but she didn't wanna let him in with her grandkids. He then proceeded to tell me and the tenant off and refused to do the work. He was telling me that I would need to call 2-10 and tell them to take him off of it.

    It was an emergency situation and on a Friday. So we were doing all this calling back and forth. 2-10 said they would just have to cancel and resubmit, but that put us all the way over the weekend. So I had an unhappy tenant who had no hot water and in a sloshy basement. The situation stayed wet on Thursday 'till Tuesday. It was a lot. But once we got it going with the replacement of the water heater, it was actually smooth.

    I was told that 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty stand behind their promise. They should clean up their contractor list. I understand that the people have to come out in a zest. I also had a much larger claim and I understand that there was no way to obtain what exactly the problem was.     Every time I have made a claim, 2-10 has always responded. The problem is the contractors. I made a claim for the refrigerator last week and the contractor said he was coming on Wednesday to take a look at it but he didn’t show up. I’ve been calling him but he doesn’t answer. It’s frustrating because the fridge is not working. The microwave hasn't been fixed by the contractor either and I don’t know when he’s going to fix it.

    But everything else has gone well. I like to call to file a claim. I like to talk to people and the people at 2-10 are very nice. Those interactions go very well. I called them one day because we had a big flood in our basement from two of our pipes. The guy who helped me that day was so nice. He said he was gonna do it as an emergency. Then they called me right away for me to find a plumber because there was no plumber in 2-10's network in the area where we live. But everything was nice. I felt that these people care about me. I would recommend this company and when the time comes to renew our plan, we’ll do it.

    We've had 2-10 from when we had our previous house, and now we've been with them for about 10 years overall. We enjoyed working with them. At the old house, though, when we submitted a claim, it was free. This last claim we submitted was different. We had problems with our last claim because we didn't know we could pick our own contractor.

    The plumber that 2-10 sent out looked at everything really quickly then walked out. He said he would be in touch but he didn't get back to us immediately. We then talked to follow through, and he said it would take another three days before he gets the water heater because it was not provided locally, and we had to pay the $100 deductible twice. It was like we lost another buck out of it. Reviews online said that the guy is a horrible plumber. So, we found somebody else who put the original water heater in. But even though they did it and 2-10 paid for some of the claim price, we still had to pay $100 out of that.

    Our 2-10 warranty came with the house when we bought it last year and the company's claim process wasn't too bad. We called them due to an issue on our sump pump and they got a contractor out after a few days. The guy then crawled down there and replaced it. He also did a decent amount of explaining about the issue and the sump pump has been working fine since.

    We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into by buying our house and decided to get a home warranty. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was offered to us when we purchased our home. I've done it both over the phone and online, and both have been very simple. Online is quicker though. Except for the last one, my interactions with the contractor have been very good.     This insurance is a waste of money. I just paid a $100 deductible for something that clearly needed to be replaced regardless. I put in my request letting them know I had someone already look at it. And that it needed to be replaced. And instead of being honest, you have a contractor come out in take a one second look at it, go outside in take 15 minutes to come back in and tell me I have to get it replaced in it cost another $205 to do so. Then the insurance company calls saying the contractor reported misuse and my garbage disposal isn’t covered for replacement.

    Let’s be clear, I haven’t even been in my home a year. I use it one time and it’s leaking. My garbage disposal isn’t brand new so it could very well be normal use. And every plumbing contractor I spoke with told me these things can barely be repaired. So I wasn’t gone be covered regardless. But they knowingly know they wasn’t gone cover the replacement anyway, and had me waste my time and money. What happened to protecting the customer. And the customer service representative was unprofessional as well. I will let everyone know on all my platforms that this is the last home warranty they ever want to purchase. Most of these services has free consultation, so it’s best you just wing it. They not trying to do nothing but repairs.

    I’ve had 2-10 for a few years. My realtor bought us our first policy when we bought our house. Submitting claims with 2-10 is easy. I just call and their claims representatives are good. It’s very easy to call 2-10 and have a contractor come out, and the contractors are generally good. The only problem I have with the experience is the decision on when they will replace the unit rather than continuing to repair it. This year, it’s the third year in a row that our air conditioner had a problem in the summer, and it was 10 years old and I thought it should have been replaced. When the contractor came out, he said that per 2-10's policies, they wanted to repair it and it was gonna cost me like $1,300 to repair the air conditioner. And I thought, for a 10-year old air conditioner that has broken down the prior 2 summers, I would’ve rather just replace it.

    We ended up just replacing it rather than the recommendation from 2-10 of just repairing it. And when the contractor checked with 2-10, 2-10 was not at that place where they recommended replacing it. They wanted only to continue to repair it, and that was somewhat troublesome to me. We had calls out each of the prior summers. So, this was the third time we had had to call out for repair because it broke down in each of the prior two summers.

    My water heater was old and the glass on it cracked. It was the original water heater that was put into the condo around 1969. I have my own guy who comes out to do all my electrical, carpentry and painting work. He told me that the water heater was shot. I called 2-10 and it took one day for somebody to come out. I was told that they couldn't get the plumber that they expected to get. He was busy, so they were sending another one.

    That one came and he was very good. I didn't expect him to be able to tear the water heater out on his shoulder, so he had to have a second man to help him. The work was done very well and they put in an A.O. Smith water heater, which is what I would have wanted if I had bought it myself. The work was done well. However, I was very disappointed with 2-10. I was charged more than what they gave me for the water heater, because they gave me $817 instead of replacing the unit, but then they laid out another $877 for having a second man to help the plumber get it out of the house. They knew it was a water heater and they were gonna have to have two people, but they sent out one person. And they charged for hours. I could have gone out and bought one and had it put in for about that amount.

    Aside from the water heater, 2-10 also sent two people out for my refrigerator but they would not do the work because they couldn't read the serial number. The refrigerator had been here when I moved in around December 2015. They asked me for the serial number but I could not see it. They told me to look at the back but I could not move the refrigerator, so they sent somebody out. The first one said that the serial number was inside. But I could not see it, so he looked and he said it was invisible. The refrigerator was so old that the serial number has been rubbed off. He refused to do anything. A second man was sent out and he also refused to do anything.

    I called my guy in and he talked with 2-10 on the phone. He was in charge of refrigeration for a very large firm here in Manchester, New York, and he described what was wrong with it. He told them it was shot and it needs to be replaced. He talked in terms that whoever was talking to him understood, and it was replaced. But I do not believe that there was money taken off for age, which I could understand. I then replaced the refrigerator, but I don't recall that I ever got any money back for it. Unless the $877 I was charged with is returned to me, in relation to my water heater claim, I would be going with another company when it's time to renew with 2-10 in October.

    I had a back-to-back leak in my house recently. I had one that was in the garage and then I had a slab leaking in the house behind the kitchen. I filed a claim with 2-10 and they sent a guy out. 2-10 did what what they were supposed to do both times. I paid the deductible and they sent me a check for the difference so I could pay the workman.

    Sometimes, it takes a while to get the contractors out to do what they need to do but in terms of being responsive and in terms of the business side of it, how things are handled and my reimbursement when I had to pay the contractors, they've been good. When I call them, they do what they say they are gonna do. The guys that they connect me with might not be as timely as I would want but it was not about 2-10. I'm satisfied with 2-10 and I'm not looking to find somebody else. I'll stay with them and I recommend their services.

    I had a plumbing issue and was literally in panic and shocked when it started flooding. I submitted the claim over the phone and at first, I was given all kinds of wrong information stating that someone would be out within four hours to assess the situation. That didn’t happen though. Then, it took me over an hour requesting to get anything resolved. Also, the representative that answered the call would tell me one thing and tell the technician another. But the technician patched in a call and I was listening. The rep was telling him that I called him a liar. I didn’t think that was professional. It took some pushing and convincing on my side that I really needed my hot water after five days of not having it, but it all worked out.

    On the other hand, I made a claim for the AC unit yesterday and got the automated system so they gave me the contact information for the service company directly and the claim number. It was a lot easier versus having the customer service rep. The first time, they wouldn’t provide me with the information for the technician. I’m planning on renewing my contract with 2-10 once I come up on my one year.

    I liked what 2-10 had to offer and I've had it for as long as I’ve had my home, which is over 15 years. This last time, I had a little bit of trouble when I submitted a claim but the process is simple. I called and spoke to the representative. She was very courteous, prompt and got me what I needed. When I called the company, they said they didn't have the order. I gave the order number to him and he couldn't find it. When they did find it, they said that 2-10 didn't send it over to them. They said that I needed a part and they would order the part today but they didn't. They ordered it the next day. And then, they said they will let me know when they were gonna install. The window was from 8:00 to 12:00 and that's the initial visit. Then, the second visit was 12:00 to 5:00 and that's a huge window.     The contractor from 2-10 was here for my stove, and he said, “While I’m here, is there anything else?” I said that the dryer sometimes doesn’t start. He opened it up and he was like, “I can tell you right what it is. Call 2-10.” So I filed a claim for our dryer. It went pretty easily but then the guy never got the thing so that he could get the part. He needed something to say that it was okay. I called back because this was on a Thursday. He said, “Give it a couple of days.” I called in Monday and he said he hasn’t gotten it so I called 2-10 and he said the lady put it in the wrong way. But he'll fix it. Then it got taken care of.     We were Realtors in Tennessee and 2-10 was the one that we most worked with. It was also the one our Realtor here recommended. We've had 2-10 on different houses for four years, although not consecutively, and the experience in submitting claims is good. I call and the reps have all been wonderful. The first time that we had a plumbing issue here, 2-10 recommended a plumber and the gentleman came out for a PEX plumbing line where one of the clamps had come loose or failed. But he didn’t have the proper tools and equipment. He left then he came back and what he was trying to use to crimp this thing back on were not the correct things. He got frustrated and he hit the line below it and messed it up. My husband was looking over his shoulder and at that point, my husband told him to get out. The gentleman said he didn't know why 2-10 hired him anyway. He was an appliance person, not plumbing.

    Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago – our hot water heater was leaking and when I called it in, they wanted to recommend the same gentleman. That first time, they didn’t have anybody else to recommend and the rep said that if we wanna use somebody that we can find that’s recommended, they would reimburse us. That was what we did and they reimbursed promptly. So I was satisfied with that. But this time, they tried to recommend the same guy for the water heater and we said no. I told them that he was not walking in our home. So we went the route of hiring the same company that we hired before and having the hot water heater installed then 2-10 would reimburse us.

    But then, we also had an air conditioner issue and the heating and air guy that they hired was less than desirable as well. He came back four times to get the job done. It’s working now but I would recommend that 2-10 hire a company that's a little more reputable rather than using the cheapest they can find. I’m satisfied after it all got said and done but getting there was a process.

    So when my ac unit wasn’t cooling the house properly I contacted my warranty company 2-10. They sent out B&L heating and air. This company informed me that the problem was that I didn’t have a switchboard for my dual system. I asked about my Freon and they said it was fine. They also told me that the warranty company did not cover the repairs needed and it would cost me $750 on top of the 250 they charged me to clean my unit. I got a second opinion but in the meantime a leak formed from my unit.

    The second opinion told me I did have the switchboard for my dual unit for the dampers and that my only problem was a lack of Freon in which he put in over a pound. He said the leak was caused by lack of Freon and my heating coil freezing up because of it. If B&L had put in Freon when 2-10 brought them out the first time then I would not have problems. Now 2-10 is saying that even though they subcontracted a company that caused damage I still have to file a claim with my insurance company Putting me at risk for higher premiums and risk of losing insurance. I also have to pay for my deductible. I find it very disheartening that 2-10 would allow one of their subcontractors to damage my home and then try to stick me with the bill.

    I wasn’t going to write a bad review but I think I need to warn people about this company. I was notified that my a/c unit stopped working on June 10 by my tenants. I called 2-10 as soon as I was notified to get someone to fix it. 2-10 was very nice and got someone out there two days later to look at it. The a/c company diagnosed it and 2-10 ordered the parts. June 17th the parts came in. On the 21st the a/c company was supposed to fix it. My tenants haven’t heard from them so I called to see what I could find out. They said 2-10 cancelled the install. They didn’t tell even tell me. When I called 2-10 I was told they were being overcharged so they cancelled the install. A new company was called and they came up with the same diagnosis. Again parts were ordered.

    It’s June 25th today and I just received an email saying the parts are not going to be in until July 1st. Three weeks to fix the a/c is way too long. Especially since it was supposed to be fixed almost a week ago and it was cancelled the day of. Also I was told today that the reason it was cancelled was because I disputed the charges, which was not true. I told them I would pay my portion. I do not recommend 2-10 and as soon as my contract ends I am going with a new home warranty company.

    This is my 29th day of no AC and it's hot. To say I'm dissatisfied is an understatement. I have been a customer for 4 years and I've had very few claims. I contacted 2-10 to open a service claim and they had someone contact us right away. The day the guy was to come out he didn't make it during the time window they gave us. We called the contractor and were informed their truck broke down and he would be there within an hour and a half. He looked at the unit and said he couldn't work on it because it was frozen. They company scheduled him to come out the next day and again he didn't make it during his time window. We called the contractor and they said they had to find out where he was.

    He showed up 3 hours late. He informed my husband the problem was the condenser coil and explained the process of getting the replacement. That's when everyone got quiet. My husband called several times over the next 2 weeks and was given vague answers. It wasn't until I inquired online and called 2-10 about the status that I got any answers. So now 3 weeks later a part is on back order and it's going to take another 7-14 days for the part to come in. I'm guessing another 7 days after that to get someone put here if I'm lucky. So all in all it will take about 6 weeks to get my unit up and running. Is that acceptable? Would you be ok with having no AC for 6 weeks. Is this the service I pay for? I think that is a really poor way to treat a loyal customer.

    I've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for four years now. The claim submission and the use of the services are pretty straightforward and easy. I normally do it online and very rarely call in. If the service person doesn't show up on time, that's when I pick up the phone and call. Then they ask me to go outside and look for a third party to take care of the issue.

    Most of the time, my experiences with their reps have been good. But sometimes, they have made me repeat things over and over again to understand. The last time I had an issue, I was asked to find a person myself because it was a sump pump issue, and 2-10 couldn't send a contractor on time. They said they had looked for a week and I had to go outside of their network to find a person. I assumed they'd take care of that quickly and 2-10 accepted that. 2-10 talked to the third-party technician, and then they made the payment. 2-10 has been working fine and I would definitely continue with them for next year.

    I talked to several representatives at 2-10 for my claim and those interactions were okay. The water heater had exploded and when the guy came over, he wanted to charge me $600 to get it fixed. I thought that was crazy when I have a home warranty. But he kept on telling me that stuff is not covered under the warranty and he had to charge me more because the warranty company doesn’t cover any other repairs. I thought home warranties would cover more than they do. I wasn’t happy. They were gonna take too long to fix it too. I had to get someone else to get out there.

    I've been with 2-10 for 15 years. Submitting the claim has been fine. But getting people to come out and do the job is a different story. I've had four emails that I emailed to them that they don’t reply to. And when you’d only call into them, it takes an average of about 29 minutes to get someone to answer the phone. During my lunch I have four outbound office lines going down and then just checking each line just pushing the button just to see if anybody answers. But they did a good job once they did it. It's just that’s the kind of response you get

    The people they brought out met me when they were supposed to with the information, said, “Hey, you need a whole new unit in this instance.” This is the same unit that they’ve worked on the last three years in a row, and I kept saying, “I think there's something wrong with this. It's not blowing air well.” So, they're finally gonna replace it. They placed the order. It took 10 days to confirm the order that was placed with 2-10 and they were allowing them to do it. And then, it took three weeks for an air conditioning unit from Georgia with a Georgia carrier with the people in Georgia who had the replacement unit to get it to them to get it to me. So, I was without air condition for approximately a month.

    Thank goodness we had more than one unit. But we were burning up the other two units pretty good. But 2-10 actually came out and replaced it and put it all up in there. 2-10 seems to be fine. But they need to upgrade the contractor list a little bit. I had a heating element go out on the dryer and the gentleman showed up on time, was professional and laid stuff down with his work, even though there wasn't even parts to be done. He was very neat, quick and even did some stuff above and beyond where he said, “Oh, sir, let me take a look at this for you.” I said not to worry about it. But he replied, “No, no, I'm here. That’s what I do.” He fixed it and I really appreciated it. He gave me nice receipt and I could actually read the receipt in the English writing and beautiful. I haven't had a problem with it since.

    But with other people contractors I would have six phone calls asking them to come out and they would say they could only come out at 11 o’clock to 2 o’clock. I asked if they could narrow that window down. And then they show up right at 2:00 or right at 11:00 and then they're disappointed that you're not sitting there at 10:45. So they have really good contractors and then what I consider poor.

    Our experience with our water heater claim recently was good. Our water heater was leaking and there was water all over the place. Filing the claim to get that fixed with 2-10 was a little pain in the **. But once we got through their procedure, it was fine. It was a good thing I wasn’t in the house yet because it took five days to get it approved and to get a heater and get it over with when I could go down to Lowe’s a half mile away. And the same water tank can be bought from Lowe’s for half the price. It was like they went to Lowe’s and bought the unit, brought it here and charged twice the amount. So, between the $100 for them to come, the service call, plus the 2 something I paid after that, I could’ve put it in for $200. I had 500 out of my pocket, so 2-10 did nothing besides maybe make people money. But everything’s working fine. And still, I’d recommend them. I’d just tell others to watch out.

    We've been a customer of 2-10 since we bought the house in 2002 and our latest claim was our only claim. After 17 years our air conditioning units died. People that came out to look at it said that they could be repaired, but it would be better just to get new units because the stuff that's used, the Freon, is no longer permitted for use after one January. It's illegal to use. So we put in, and the 2-10 decided that a $21,000 replacement was worth $2,000 to them because they found a cheap ** place that said they could fix it for $700.

    I couldn't understand a word their contractor said on the phone. The guy couldn't speak. It sounded like he had no teeth and drunk. He sent two kids. My wife said they were polite and were pleasant. They unplugged the unit and said it wasn't safe to be running. And the next day, the company came in that we've known for 20 years and replaced both units in one day. 2-10 wanted to know why we wouldn't use their people. I said, "Because we haven't known your people for 20 years." So we are highly dissatisfied with 2-10. We would not recommend to anyone. As a matter of fact, we called our kids, who both have warranties with them, and they won't be renewing either. So, we sent them $1,000 a year for 20 years. Lesson learned, we'll never buy from 2-10 again. Everybody we know, we tell them not to.

And he took care of a few things while he was at my house. In my sink, there was also a leak.     Everyone I've dealt with through 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been very professional and things happen immediately. I seem to get a response within 24 hours. I come from a 100-year-old plumbing family. We would never use a warranty company because we always knew who to go to and what to do. My opinion has always been that you go to someone you know and is recommended. So I'm very uncomfortable with this home warranty. I was very leery of the whole thing. But everyone has been very good. This house is 1979 and there is a lot that needs to be looked at. And the people I worked with – the plumber, the electrician and the HVAC person – have all gotten the job done.

    The HVAC guy was excellent and I would definitely have him again. The electrician was excellent as well. I had a claim that I put in and then cancelled because I called them and I solved the problem on the phone. That was remarkable. Some of the outlets didn't always work and we had come in and checked them all but then they weren't working again. The electrical panel is old so I couldn't tell what was tripped and what wasn't. She talked me through it and she was superb. I know she's not an electrician but she could be. It was like landing a plane by phone. The HVAC and the electrical guys really rocked. They're the top of the line, even if I was searching for them on the yellow pages. They're that good. The appliance guy has his own company and he had a lot going on. But he was still able to show up and make things work.

    I have 2-10 since January and when I had a claim, I called it in. Their reps were helpful and straight to the point. Once you got a hold of someone, it was really good. But trying to get a hold of someone over the phone was not easy and it was a bit of a pain in the butt. My call kept wanting to go through the automated service and it was a long time of waiting.

    Then, the contractor they assigned to my claim had to come out twice. The first time they came out, they were kind and nice people. They checked where I told them to and told me where they thought the water issue was. After they had spoken with 2-10 about fixing it, they replaced the piping. Then they said it was all good to go and left. It was a Friday and when I tried to do a load of laundry that same day, I had four times the amount of water come through with additional damage to our home. So we had to deal with a $12,000 insurance claim on our house because of that.

    The contractor's foreman came out to fix it another day but he seemed like he didn't want to be here. It felt like he had other things he had to take care of, which was very frustrating because of how much damage we were replacing. We were replacing all of our floors on our bottom floor, ceiling, trim, baseboards, and sheet rock. We were painting walls, too. It was a big job. But the foreman didn't seem like he really wanted time to help us out. The other two guys did, tough.

    Other than that, when they were here the second time to make sure that the water was repaired, they mentioned to us that the piping in our house was not the three inches that you see today, that it was a two-inch. I asked if that was up to code or if it was worth replacing but they wouldn't say whether it was up to code or not. They just said it still works.

    And when I was trying to call 2-10 to find out about whether it was up to code and if there was a way, if it's not up to code, if it was covered, I couldn't find the phone number and I couldn't get through the line to talk to anybody. I finally just gave up because I tried for days and I was frustrated. I figured I'd call another time. All in all, there was some good that had come out of my experience with 2-10 and I appreciate it. I ended up finding an awesome handyman service that had been very courteous and great to work with.

    We had a good experience with 2-10 the first year, so then we purchased it again. Submitting the claim is very easy. We have often, though, had a three to five-day delay in somebody coming out to fix things. Sometimes that's just them because it's the weekend. But even if we submit one in the middle of the week, it seems like it takes a while. But 2-10 always says that that's not their fault, that that's the people they're contracting with, and that's probably true.

    We've had great interactions with every service contractors except for the last one. Recently we filed a claim for our fridge. It was building up a lot of the frost on the freezer. We submitted it on a Saturday and nobody came out until the next Friday and then said that they needed to order all new parts for inside the fridge and that would fix the problem. That was another week and a half of waiting. They finally came out and did all the new parts in the fridge. But it did not fix the problem.

    And so then, they realized that it was probably the icemaker. So, when they resubmitted that to 2-10, it was two weeks before we got an answer from anybody. I had to call 2-10 myself on that one and they don't cover icemakers. But the other experiences have been great. Our washer broke and a guy came out. They realized it was gonna cost more to fix than to replace, so 2-10 just sent us cash. We were able to get a new washer for the cash that they sent out that was better than our other washer. The cash did at least still cover just for us to buy something locally.

    I have had to do a couple of service calls with 2-10. On the first service call, they fixed the plumbing leak for me. That went smoothly besides some cost were uncovered. But I'm going through a hardship right now with them because my AC is out. It's a six-year old unit. I had to wait almost a month because they wanted the manufacturer to make the needed part for me. Finally got the part, and it failed. And so, I'm still here stuck without AC and it's been over a month now. I'm waiting to hear back from them right now hoping that they'll just put a new unit on there. They keep wanting to go on the cheaper route for bad parts. I guess the new compressor they got me was no good as well.

    I'm a real estate agent and we use 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty in our office. But I've had clients and I've heard about them, even before I started working here, that they were good. So I questioned some of the clients how they liked the service at 2-10 and they were pleased. So far, they've been good for me and I've only just started. I had an issue with a circuit panel and I paid the $85 that you have to pay when the contractor comes out and the gentleman fixed it. What happened was that we had a storm and my lights kept flickering off and on then everything went out. Even my oven and my air conditioner went out. I had PEPCO come out but they said it wasn't a PEPCO issue. So I had an AC person I know come out but it wasn't an AC issue either. It was a circuit breaker issue, like a power surge.

    I contacted 2-10 over the phone and the reps there were good. They were very professional. But that's not always the case with the people they send out. Sometimes, you have to go through a couple of people to get someone to give you the service but it's not 2-10. It's the contractor. They also may not be able to get to you right then. But I ask questions. I ask for the highest rated people to come to me and they're pretty good. I also had an AC unit issue at the other house and the guy who came out the first time didn't do anything. The second time, there was a burnt-out wire so he replaced the wire and the AC was working. Something went on with the refrigerator as well and 2-10 fixed that. I haven't had problems with 2-10 so far. I have read that people have had a lot of problems but my clients didn't tell me they had problems either.

    Submitting a claim with 2-10 is easy. I prefer to do it over the phone, but I’ve had to do it online as well. Recently, I had an issue with the air conditioner and the techs came out the next week after I submitted my claim. The guy who first came to troubleshoot was a good guy. I helped him out and he got done quickly. Then they had to replace the evaporator coil, and they were trying to decide whether it was more efficient to just replace that or replace the whole unit. That took a little bit longer which was a couple of weeks. Eventually, they fixed it and now it blows cold air and working the way it should. All in all, I would recommend 2-10.

    2-10 was recommended by a friend who said it was a good company to have, so we gave them a try. We've been with them for about 18 years. We submitted a claim to them and they sent somebody out the next day. It was for our air conditioner that was broken. The technicians came and saw what they needed. They said they would send the information to 2-10 and would go on from there. The contractor was good and they sent the information in. But it was two and a half weeks and there was still nothing. It was very aggravating because I don’t know where whoever does all this business is. They are up north and it was very hot down here. It took 2-10 way too long for us to get the air conditioner fixed. My husband was apprehensive why it took so long to get the parts.

    We called after the second week and talked to different people. They all told us a different story as to what was going on and none of them coincided. Also, they put you on hold for 20 minutes or longer. We didn’t want to hang up because we had that experience that if you hang up, you start over from scratch. It was really horrible this time.

    Last summer, it was 90 something degrees and my AC was not working. I submitted a claim with 2-10 and they assigned a contractor but they wouldn’t show up. It was terrible. 2-10 kept doing that for a couple weeks until they finally said that I could go find somebody else. So, I went ahead and scheduled someone to come out. And they came out and fixed it. But our AC went out again this summer and 2-10 sent a tech out in three days. So, it wasn’t too terrible. But it still took a long time to get the part because 2-10 orders it and it doesn’t get ordered through the guy who fixes it. It’s a little convoluted that way.

    Also, I regret to say that I would probably never see the contractor who I was working with again. He didn't have time to call in for every single claim he was doing so they kept making him call back, so he didn't wanna do it anymore. He was a great contractor but he is not gonna work with 2-10 anymore because it was a convoluted process to get paid and submit claims with them.

    Aside from that, when I submitted the claim online, the website let me click the button that said, “Submit a claim online.” But if you needed more than one issue taken care of, you would have to call in because the thing on the internet said that you couldn't submit another claim as that one was already open. You'd have to do it with that automated system that sometimes doesn’t work, which is kind of annoying. But you have to call back even if it was the same issue because the system thought that they already had a claim opened for it.

    Eventually, the AC got fixed. It was a lengthy process, not too easy, not too difficult, and just right in the middle of annoying. But the call center reps were really friendly and I have nothing against them. No complaints from the contractors’ side either. They come out, fix the problem, and do their job. It’s just that the system itself needs to be fixed.

    My air conditioning wasn't working. I made a claim with 2-10 and the whole concept kinda confused me, like what they were gonna cover, what they were not, and who I needed to talk to. The initial introduction of the process was kind of tough. I called and I was trying to get some answers. I struggled a little bit. I got bounced around the phone. But once I finally got to the right place, they were very helpful and all was done very well. Having a better education for their consumer would be nice though. There should be a central person to kind of explain everything. For example, they gave me two choices of things I needed to do. They made a choice between this route and that route. But they didn't explain to me what the impact would be. I felt a little bit kind of on my own in talking to them. Other than that, the contractor was great. They actually ended up helping me out with the process a little bit. Having them around was great. Everything is perfect now.

    There was a time when our pump wasn't working so I submitted a claim over the phone to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. The first time I called, it was difficult and we got a rejection and we could have a had a more knowledgeable rep. Still, the contractor they sent when we got approved was fine. He went out and made his assessment. However, his report was a little jaded for non-coverage because he made a reference to the pump saying normally it doesn't go out or that the pump wasn't working prior to us purchasing the house. He said: "You haven't been a month in the house. The pump obviously wasn't working when you bought the house," which wasn't the case at all. Still, the second call with 2-10 was very, very helpful.

    We purchased a new home that was “insured” by 2-10. We have never allowed this coverage to lapse. In the 13 years that we have had it, service fees have tripled. This would not be an issue if the service was reliable and customer service oriented. Unfortunately this is not the case. Our refrigerator has been in an un-repaired state for over a year. In addition our microwave has not worked for 2 months. Our payment is automatically deducted. You must pay the contractors at the diagnostic visit. We have done our part. 2-10 has consistently not followed up with us, not called back as they said they would and overall seem unconcerned with resolving the problems per the contract.

    Ironically the microwave is one that was “replaced“ by 2-10 two years ago! 2-10 has moved to the realm of UNTRUSTWORTHY. Contractors seem to always be blamed for the issues yet they hire them. Wrong parts are shipped REPEATEDLY from 2-10’s warehouse. How is this the contractors' fault? Shame on 2-10 for blaming small businesses! We have been more than patient and I suppose we shall have to take our lumps. I do not recommend a GE hood microwave or a WARRANTY from 2-10 Home Buyers. At least the refrigerator is 13 years old.
