Our air conditioning wasn’t cooling some of our back bedrooms, and we had some leaks in the house. The first issue was the leaks, and we didn’t realize that we needed to submit it. So, we called a plumber. We contacted 2-10 for the plumbing issue, and they gave us part of it since we didn’t go through the right avenue. The second time, we went on 2-10's website and submitted a claim for the air conditioning. The online process was easy. And the service contractor was fine. It seemed like he was knowledgeable. However, the issue wasn’t covered by 2-10 so I had to pay out of pocket.

2-10's reps were great. I filed a claim over the phone, and it took the contractor two days to come out. He diagnosed the problem and he knew what he needed to get and what he needed to do, and got the parts in and did it. The guy at the store could’ve been a little bit more efficient. He would say he would get back with me, and then he didn’t. The guy showed up to do the work, and I didn’t know he was coming because the guy at the store didn’t let him know. He thought that I had been notified and I had not been. But I was home and it all worked out fine. But the guy at the store needs a little training in communication and follow-up. Still, 2-10 is a 5.

We purchased our house around June 2015 and 2-10 came with us moving in. We were signed up for the year and then we decided to keep it. Submitting a claim is fairly easy. We usually do it online and just answer the questions that are on there. They have it set up pretty good. I do get a little confused sometimes, like if I click the wrong thing. Other than that, I like it. The contractors' service has been good as well. I usually get a call the next day and then they usually come the day after. On my recent claim, the contractor did the best he could, explaining what was going on. He tried to fix it and spoke with 2-10 on the phone while he was there, which was good so that we’d know exactly what was going on. He couldn’t get it fixed and 2-10 offered to replace it, and it should be here tomorrow. Overall 2-10 comes through for us. I like that we have something to go to when something goes wrong in our house and not be left in the dark.

The igniter of the gas stove was slow and it was building up too much gas. So when the oven lit, it would blow the door off. I called 2-10 and the contractor came out within a week. I gave the tech enough information and this oven is a Decor and it's a very high-end one and people don't normally stock the parts. But the guy brought the part that he thought I was gonna need. He was able to fix it just on the first go. He didn't have to come back. It was really good.

When I called in the claim, the person who answered the phone initially was kinda going by script, and they were trying to convince that I should just take $100 and go buy a new one instead of filing the claim. But this is like a $10,000 stove. So, it's not something that you could just go back and replace. When I explained that, then she kinda stopped. I know people that answer the phone have to follow a certain amount of things that the company tell them to do. But I think the script could have been worked in a little bit so it wasn't so obvious that that's what was happening.

In the beginning my experience was a nightmare. I had to call everyday to get anywhere and really push to get my issue resolved regarding my AC unit. After all my hard work and constant on the phone I ended up getting a new system. I'm happy with the outcome even though I had to work hard to get it. My advice to others is, keep calling and making your issue known. This is a huge company so they are working on hundreds of claims at once. You need to make your problem important to them and put it at the top so it gets resolved accurately.

    Original Review: Aug. 24, 2019

In the beginning this company was great. They were quick and always supportive but when something truly breaks and it's expensive, they are slow and don't care at all. I have had problems with my HVAC for a few months now and a recent contractor came and said I needed a part. They put in for the part at 2-10 stating it will take about 5-10 business days to get. 2-10 called me and gave me a price which I approved and assumed the part was being ordered so I waited the amount of time expected. 15 business days after I called 2-10 asking for the status. The rep on the phone told me the part was NEVER ordered and they are waiting for a price from their supplier. She also stated it looks like they requested a price and then just forgot about my account since the price never came. Typical!

Now 2 weeks later I have been calling everyday trying to get a status and keep being told they are still waiting for a price from the supplier and a supervisor is looking at my account. No supervisor has ever reached out to me like promised. How long does it possibly take to get a price? I feel at this point the part is too expensive and the company doesn't want to pay. My AC has been broken for the past few months in the middle of summer. Proceed with caution with this company. If you ever have a big issue they will not help you.

When we closed on our house, 2-10 was the company that was offered to us as a home warranty company. We call them to submit a claim, and then they contact one of their contractors, and then their contractor will contact us to make an appointment. Our most recent claim was with the dryer. It would turn on, but it was not drying the clothes. The initial problem was something with the heating element had went out. Then it quit working again after four days. And so, the appliance company came back out and they thought it was something electrical. So, we called an electrician, and he came out and said there was nothing wrong with the electrical and that the appliance company was measuring the electrical thing in the wrong place. So, then the appliance company came back out and figured out it was the thermostat. They changed that, and then it was fixed.

We had another call because the microwave went out, and the first person that they sent us for that didn’t call. And it turned out that they weren’t even in business. So, then 2-10 had to call another electrician, and that guy didn’t show up. 2-10 is all the way in Colorado, and I don’t know how they can know that the contractors that they’re dealing with are any good. So, it’s been kinda frustrating.

Our dishwasher would not drain properly. And when I went to 2-10 to file a service request claim, it was easy. I had three different calls on it. On the first one, the contractor couldn't fix it. The guy ordered some parts. Then he came back out, and he still wasn't able to fix it. So, it went back to 2-10 and they ordered the replacement. And they had the guy come out about two weeks ago and replace it. It worked for exactly a week and a half, and now, it's broken again. The new one's no longer draining. It is a completely different brand.

I've tried to call 2-10, and they put me on hold. And then, it shows my contract ended today, so the problem's starting tomorrow, but this is a new dishwasher. I'm thinking it still should be under the factory warranty, but I'm a little frustrated trying to get a hold of Kevin's Appliances. Then I called GE, the manufacturer, and they said I needed to contact the installer, and the installer's inbox is full. So, I tried to call them yesterday, and I can't get through to them. Still, I don't think it was 2-10's issue. The biggest issue might be with the repair people, and they contract people to do it. I really was satisfied because they decided to go ahead to replace it. But now, I'm dissatisfied because it's not working.

I’m not very satisfied with how 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty handled my claim. They said that I should get a contact within 24 hours, which I was not contacted by the company. I had to contact the company myself. And then, the first person that they hooked me up with never got back to me. So, I filed for another person to come out. They came out and took a look at the job, and then denied the job. 2-10 had to get a third person to come out, and they finally were able to get the job done.

The job that I was needing to be done was a shutoff valve being replaced from an old-style shutoff to a newer style because it wasn’t working. It was located in the service closet where my air handler and my water heater was. And for him to just replace it, he would have to drain and remove the water heater to get to the access where the shutoff is, to replace. He said he could go in from the backside of this wall and put a little access panel in, but 2-10 wouldn’t cover the drywall or the panel. So, he denied doing the claim without even talking to me ‘cause he didn’t want to do the harder way, which was taking the water heater out.

2-10 said that they were going to dispatch a different company. So, another company came out and said that they could get it all done. They cut a hole in the wall where the guy said that he was gonna put the panel in. And he said it was gonna be this small hole for a small access panel. We have some of the access panels in other parts of our home, and he said it’s gonna be the same exact thing.

Whenever he got in there, he started cutting into my wall, found a stud, so there’s a big gash in my wall. Then he went over on to the other side of the stud and started cutting a hole, and then, made it probably three times larger than that panel that he originally said he was gonna do. And then, left it and said that he was gonna have to get a custom-ordered panel to bring in. A couple of weeks went by, I finally got him back out there and all he did was put some cheap covers that you can buy at Lowe’s over the hole. They are two different ones and one of them was off-centered from the other ones to try to cover up the gash that they put into my wall. Then the plumbers said that he was not a drywall guy, so he wouldn’t be able to fix it. I’ve been trying to contact the company to try to figure something out to get this fixed, and they have completely ignored my phone calls and my text messages. 2-10 actually don’t know anything about that.

With my 2-10 experience, everything was smooth and easygoing. They dispatched people fairly quickly or got me in contact with the company. They provided me the information to contact them if they hadn’t contacted me. I've had 2-10 since I moved in April of 2019 and the experience has been wonderful. But it’s the third-party that they hired that I’ve had a bad experience with.

2-10 was the company that the builders went through originally, and I've had coverage from them for over five years. I make my claims online and over the phone, and they're both easy. My claim for the microwave went pretty fine. The contractors came out the next day, though at first they were not gonna cover it as the guy told me something totally different. As for my garbage disposal that stopped coming on, when the tech guy called, I was out of town. I said, “Let me call you back”, and we kept calling him but got no answer. I had to call him last week at 7 o’clock in the morning for him to answer. Though I'm not sure if it has been fixed or not, they went out for it today.

2-10 was part of a home sale and although we did not require it, we took it as it was offered. We've had it for almost a year now and we’ve had two claims. The experience was relatively easy. We did our claims online. The communication with both the vendors was pretty quick. We would typically hear back within 24 to 48 hours. Usually, less than that. From the call to us getting a contractor, it was a 24-hour period. It was another 24 after filling in everything. The time frame for the claim process was, give or take, 72 hours from beginning to end.

Both contractors that we used were very professional. We were very happy with the service. The very first time we used 2-10, the contractor had to get an authorization before he did the research to figure out what was wrong. They kinda let us know step by step what was going on, what they can do, what they needed, and more authorization. This our first time having a warranty in this place and I'm very satisfied. A home warranty is something you wouldn’t necessarily consider. But I think for the cost, it is something that worked to our benefit. And we could see the benefit of it. I’ve recommended it to friends.

When I bought my condo originally, I was looking for a home warranty and compared to several other companies we were looking at, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty came very highly regarded by our real estate agent. We've had them for about three years and mostly submit claims online, which has been very easy. The contractors have primarily been very lovely, professional and timely.

When working with the people within 2-10, sometimes I get some very lovely good people. But sometimes I get some very unknowledgeable, not good people who seem more interested in finding ways to exclude things than include things. I have very high-end appliances and high-end things. When I’m working with the people, they never really look at what I have. They’re always trying to downgrade things or say that it’s like in function when it’s really not. I liken it to comparing a Volkswagen to a Ferrari. They’re both cars, they both have tires, they both move, but they’re entirely different things.

We’ve been with 2-10 for two years. We keep the warranty because we know we need to have it. And compared to some other companies that are out there, they cover a lot more things. But there have been some several occasions that I haven’t been very satisfied with the coverage or the answers that we received from 2-10. What makes sense for them to cover is still not covered even though you request to have a higher warranty coverage. And I haven’t always had the best experiences with some of the customer service reps. Also, I haven’t had good experiences always with people being dispatched out. If there’s somebody out there that offers the same services, I don’t think I would stay with 2-10 if I can find a better option.

I wanted to do a home warranty and 2-10 was the one that was chosen to go with the house. I have them for about four months now and so far, their claims process can be better, but it's been okay. The one time I had a claim, I submitted it over the phone and their rep was professional. She told me she didn’t really know when the techs were coming, that they would be calling, and that the quickest way was for me to call them. So, I called the contractors. When they came out, they were good. They tried to determine where the issue was and when they found it, they talked to 2-10 to figure out what was covered and what was not. Then they left, came back hours later, and fixed it. Everything’s been fine since they’ve been gone.

Other than that, there was a bit of miscommunication because I had been told one thing by one representative as far as the $100 service fee and what would be the out of pocket cost. Then the next representative said that it was not right and that I had to pay the $100 service fee out of pocket. But it was an issue that it went towards the portion that 2-10 should have paid. I still don’t agree with that. When I read the contract, it says that 2-10 pays $1,000 for that repair. But 2-10 only covered 900.

When we bought our current home, 2-10 was part of the package. It was transferred from the previous owner and I’ve had it for close to four years now. The submission part of the claim was the easy part. I went online and submitted a report that something was not working. Then, I went to a never-ending cycle of not good. The interaction and the service provided by the contractors were horrendous. Our washing machine has broken down twice in the last year and the latest one was just recently. It sounded like a fighter jet and it was just not draining, it was a mess. We had just recently replaced the drain pump and the circuit board and all kinds of other stuff.

2-10 sent a guy out who figured it out immediately. He took the thing apart, looked at it, and he showed me the pictures, and said that I have got a leak, my bearing was destroyed and my stator was gone. It was a big repair and his idea was to replace it because it was gonna be expensive and difficult. A few days later I heard that another contractor has been assigned and I called 2-10. They said that the guy never submitted a diagnosis. I said that it wasn’t true because I have a receipt where he wrote the diagnosis and I can send them the receipt. They told me they will send another guy and I could call the first contractor. So, I called him, and he said that they tried to convince him to state that the problem was caused by us overloading the washing machine so that they could deny the claim, which was just unethical. So, 2-10 was unhappy that I found this out.

2-10 sent four guys out over several weeks of trial and tribulation on our part, to get something done. Eventually, the fourth guy they sent out came in, pushed the thing on and read the error code. It said imbalance or not draining and suggested that there were four stands they have to replace, ignoring the fact that the thing was leaking. He never even opened the machine, never pulled it out and never looked behind it. So, I was upset by this time.

They have given me three options at one point. One of the options was they would give me $468.02 in lieu of repair. I said that a washing machine costs $1,000 and told them to give me this money and I'm done with them. I've got two kids, two puppies, two adults and a lot of laundry that I haven't been able to do over weeks, at this point. 2-10 eventually sent me a check, even though it didn't cover even half of the expense that I had to come up with on my own, for something that they took the risk to make sure it worked. 2-10 didn't follow through and the money that they sent was slightly helpful but that's not why you have a home warranty.

The same thing happened last year with the air conditioning. They just refused to replace the biggest dinosaur in the face of the planet. Every bit of it is 15 years old, which is beyond its life. Its service life is around 7 to 10 years and 2-10 would not replace it nor repair it properly. They tried last year to say it was my fault that the air conditioning wasn't working, which was a little bit ridiculous. In this case, I have an air conditioning that's sort of limping along and it's still working. It's the end of the summer, so hopefully, cool weather will hit it soon enough. It's been horrendous. I've never seen such as a fifth world service and I'm shocked that they are still in business.

We just bought a new house and we asked for a home warranty. The seller of the house selected 2-10. When submitting a claim, I just call and it gets in the system, and then the correct person will call me back. It's been good with the rep over the phone. The contractors have been timely and they come when they say they’re going to come. The contractor who came for the dryer that had no heat seemed very knowledgeable and pleasant, and told me exactly what would happen, and it was exactly what happened. Since the repair, the dryer has been good.

My garage door came apart 3 weeks ago and is unusable. I have made 8 phone calls to the company—all have taken more than 20 minutes to be answered, and over 30 minutes to be completed. Many of the representatives that I talked to could not understand that my entire door was broken-not just the motor opener, and many did not seem aware of any earlier calls about this problem. This would necessitate a recapitulation of the previous calls I had made.

The first service operator they sent only worked on door openers. The second company they provided had gone out of business. They could not give me any other providers and asked me to find my own service provider. They did not like that company’s recommendation (replace the entire door) and sent a service request to a company 60 miles from me, who also recommended door replacement because of hinge failure and hinges that are not replaceable. 2-10 declines to replace the door stating the contract does not cover doors. The contract does, however, cover hinge replacement.

The contract does not stipulate that they will cover only garage doors with replaceable hinges. The Claim Supervisor was surly, abrupt, and unprofessional. A Customer Service representative told me they would not take a complaint on the telephone, the only way to make a complaint was by mail. I hope I don’t have to call them again for any other service problems as this had been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with a warranty or insurance company.

Because we are going out of town, I told them to come next week and they were able to accommodate my schedule. The contractor came promptly and was good. He was not in a hurry to just leave and was pretty responsive to what we asked him to do. I was happy with that. The claim was resolved. And everything has been very good since the service.

The guy knew what he was doing and was able to explain things well. Things have been good since then. We had to knock a hole in our wall and the guy said that the home warranty would cover that but we need to file a different claim. My husband filed a claim on that, but we haven’t heard anything back about the contractor to fix the drywall.

Whenever I have a problem, I call 2-10 Home Buyers and they tell me what to do. The contractors contact us and they do a good job letting me know when they will be coming in. But for our claim for the gas water heater, a lot of things happened before the contractor came. I called 2-10 and they cancelled my request. There were confusion and miscommunication and I went through a lot of pain there. What the contractor told me and what customer care told me what the contractor told them was very different. When I asked the contractor, they said they never said that. I was in a tough spot because now, I'm talking to 2-10 who's telling me something and when I'm talking to contractors, they are telling me something, and then 2-10 is saying the contractor told them something else. It was a horrible communication from customer care.

At a later stage, my broker talked to a local manager from here and she got involved. She was very helpful and she took care of it. I believe 2-10 wants to help me out and they are there to support me but at the same time, I feel that the processes they have in place are not the best. I needed to call and figure out what was going on rather than the reps telling me. My life would be easier if they can help me out with what's going on because it's their job. 2-10 can do a lot of work on their processes and the training they give. But while the customer care did not do a good job, the local manager did an excellent one. The contractors who came did a good job too.

I have two properties with 2-10 Home Buyers and I've called them three or four times to request for service. The air conditioning company they sent to our townhouse was awesome. They were pretty quick on doing everything and scheduling was a breeze. Contractors have also gone out for different things at our house. But when we filed a service request for our stove, it took over 33 days to fix. It wasn't 2-10's fault though. The contractor they hired had issues with getting the part and diagnosed the symptom incorrectly. 2-10 ended up rerouting a different contractor to come out and that guy fixed the stove within 10 minutes of showing up to the house.

Then the second time was for a dishwasher. The irony of it was 2-10 sent the same contractor who came out initially to fix the stove. He actually fixed the dishwasher but it took 15 or 20 days to get the part. But that has nothing to do with 2-10. Then, our third claim was for an exhaust fan in the master bedroom which was fixed in 10 days.

The time-framing of getting things done depends on the contractors that come out. If it's a mom-and-pop contractor, one might not get the service right away or the issue fixed in minimal time. But if it's a company, like the air conditioning company that went out for my townhouse, they really did what they had to do in a day. But I'm still happy with 2-10. When I submit online, the website is easy to use and the service is good. Between 24 or 48 hours, they tell me via email or call when the contractor is going out and who it is.

I spoke to three reps to file a claim with 2-10 because the phone cut out on me, then I had to call back and speak with another person. And then, the phone cut out again, and I had to speak with a third person. So, that part was kinda annoying but that was where we actually got the help that we needed. The first person was pretty good and the second person was better, but interestingly, not in a good way. Originally, I called in about my garbage disposal, my dishwasher, and my fridge all at one time, and I was told that I would have a service fee of $75 to cover everything. And then, 2-10 had a $100 voucher for if we needed a new dishwasher. Then, we could do $100 towards a new dishwasher, and they could take the $75 service and put that towards the new dishwasher.

I was gonna do that, but when they moved on to the garbage disposal and the fridge, they decided to charge me a second service fee. They said that because I decided to do the new dishwasher, I would have to pay for the service fee for that one, but now, it was a new ticket. And so, it was a charge that cancelled out of credit. The last guy I spoke with kept telling me that I was saving money. I’m like, “No, I’m not. I’m not saving money that way. You guys are creating a charge here. And you’re getting way too messy, I think we’re gonna have to change our routine if you can’t keep it clean.” So, it was frustrating and annoying that it was being passed off like I was saving money when I wasn’t. I also felt like they were trying to take advantage of me which was not okay.

I ended up getting so fed up that I didn’t wanna take advantage of any credits or offers that 2-10 was offering. And I was like, “You guys can just come out and look at it. And if you need to replace it, you can replace it at your own expense.” But at this point, I only have one issue and I don’t feel like that’s enough to say that 2-10's a horrible company even though I don’t feel like the issue went well. And as far as the coverage goes, they ended up covering everything. They replaced the garbage disposal and I got what I needed resolved in the end.

When I bought the house, I was signed up for 2-10 because there was extra money. When I had a claim, I called them and they set it up. Then, they called the repairman, who got in touch with me. It took about a week to get somebody out. The contractor was okay but he didn’t pay too much attention to what was going on with the refrigerator. He just told me what was wrong with it and so, l was having problems with the temperature and the freezing. The man said it cost too much to fix the refrigerator so they bought it out. It needed a motor. 2-10 sent me $477 to buy a new refrigerator but I don’t have the balance to pay on a new refrigerator so I just have the check waiting. I don’t know in what country they thought a refrigerator would cost that amount. So, I'm still in the process of trying to buy a refrigerator.

I'm pretty dissatisfied with 2-10 but the people are okay. My loan people thought they were giving me a good plan when they signed me up for 2-10 but so far, most of the claims that I've put in have not been covered. This is the only one that has actually gotten me covered. One was a pre-existing condition and on another one, I had to pay $75 to find out it wasn’t part of my plan. I had a pamphlet, but it’s not as detailed from what they’re telling me.

But then, when I showed them that I had an inspector’s report stating that it operated properly and my agent got involved, they then went ahead and sent out the repair people. However, they didn't do the complete repair and I'm still working with 2-10 on that. My liaison with 2-10 has called me every single week to check and see how things are coming along. She has been very attentive.

However, I did not get a new dishwasher even though this thing I have is really in bad shape. They replaced the two racks on the inside that were rusted through, but they also replaced the latch on the dishwasher. They were supposed to replace the whole entire front panel but the repair guy came out with that part and left it sitting on the counter. He just worked on the latch and fixed it. He still has to come back out and complete the repair.

I've had my home warranty for approximately 1.5 years. I've had 5 total claims. 4 of my 5 claims that I made, I had to resolve on my own. The first was my dishwasher where the contractor just didn't fix it and the 2-10 told me I'd have to file a second claim. I ended up fixing it myself and later replacing it altogether. Then our heat went out - it was December with a high temp of 15 degrees and the following week not going to break 5 degrees. We went 5 days without and it was supposed to be another 10 days before they could get a part. 2-10 and the contractor went back and forth blaming each other until the contractor told me they can't help... I had to pay $500 (in addition to the $100 I paid to 2-10) to have it fixed independent of 2-10. My contractor got the part within 4 hours including drive time to get it.

The AC went out and the heat went out again - both times the contractor cleared water out of the drain pipe and left saying it is "fixed". When I complained about bad service, no one cared. Finally, my AC went out permanently. This time, I had my own contractor troubleshoot first and I was told the compressor is totally bad. We waited several days and never received a phone call from any contractors to assist even after submitting a total of 4 claims within the course of a week. Again, 2-10 did not care. I fixed it on my own since my wife is pregnant and in the third trimester - I don't have time to wait. I called and complained asking to be reimbursed (they've reimbursed me once without per-approval). It took 4 phone calls where I was given 1 non-answer, 1 sent me paperwork to file, and 2 just hung up on me.

I called twice more to cancel after this horrendous experience - I was hung up on again the first time and the second time I was sent to a voicemail to which I've received no response and after a month of not hearing back and trying to get an update, I've been charged again. This is the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. They are either scamming everyone that hands them money or they are the lowest level of scum. Again, THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH ANY COMPANY THAT I HAVE EVER HAD, BY FAR. I am going to try calling a couple more times to get my contract cancelled, as they said they would do. If that does not work, I will probably have to show up in person with my lawyer to have it taken care of. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, EVER!

I recently had a problem with the electrical wiring, and I had no power in the garage. It defrosted my refrigerator and I lost everything in it. And then on the wall on the inside of the house that borders the garage, all the receptacles were out. I filed a claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty over the phone. 2-10 sent out Pyramid. I called them over the weekend when everybody was closed, and I left a message on their service. They contacted me on Monday. It was prompt. I don't know what the electrician did to get the part to come on. But he was gone about a few hours, and the problem reoccurred. I called 2-10 and told them. And they said I would have to call Pyramid and get them back out here again. And I said, "Am I gonna have to pay them $100 again? Isn't their work guaranteed?" The rep I spoke with said that was the discretion of Pyramid if it's a new problem or if it was the old problem not resolved.

Pyramid didn't come out. And I called 2-10 again. We went round and round, and they couldn't find a contractor on their end of it here in this area. And the bottom line is they told me to go out and find my own electrical contractor. Now, I'm paying a premium for insurance, and then they tell me to go find my own, so I did. And now, it's rectified. And it was a simple little fix of replacing a GFI in my garage. The contractor that was sent by 2-10 just did not do it. I'm going to call 2-10 up today. I'm going to cancel my policy, and I've already talked to them and asked them for the number to call to cancel my policy. I will not do business with them.

Submitting a claim with 2-10 is frustrating because of the menu, trying to get to someone to talk to. But as far as submitting it, once I get to someone, it’s relatively easy. But it’s frustrating going through all the steps and answering, push this button, push that button. The water heater has gotten to where if the power would go out, the power would go out. The contractor finally figured out that it was lack of oxygen on the sensor and so, the whole water heater needed to be replaced.

I really like the contractor. He’s a good guy. But I did not wanna pay the $50 disposal fees, so I was gonna get rid of it, but he left the heater up in the attic. So, I got a extra water heater up in my attic that I can’t get down. He said he wouldn’t bring it down unless 2-10 paid him to. I said, “I’ll dispose of it, but you just can’t leave it in the attic.” And he said, “Unless they paid me, I am.” But his work is very good. The new water heater has not gone out a time. I was lighting it with twice a week till we replaced it.

I submitted a couple of other claims. For some reason this year, I am having a big-time problem with the people that 2-10 said the claims have been assigned to. I waited for two days that I didn’t get a call. So, I called the contractor and I had at least five or six times where they said, “We do not work for 2-10. We no longer work for them.” That has been a huge problem.

We had a problem with our gas range and with our trash compactor, and in both cases, it took two or three different contractors being assigned to me before 2-10 got someone who did the work. One time, I stayed online and I asked the 2-10 representative, “Please call this contractor and make sure that they work for you still.” They came back and said they just talked to them. The contractor didn’t call for a day, and I called them and they said, “No. We haven’t worked for 2-10 for over six months.” If you’ll look in my account, you’ll see all that, where they had to reassign, reassign, reassign. But as far as the people that finally came, it was very good service.

We had a plumbing issue where water wasn’t running. The shutoff valve that was installed initially was bad. I made the first phone call to the plumbers after I called 2-10. I got ahold of the gentleman and he said he would get right back to me. But it wasn’t until after four days that he finally got back to us. They did a double-book and they wouldn’t show up on certain days. They also gave me a very long time of, “I will be there by 3:00 to 5:00 or 6:00,” and they wouldn’t show up. They wouldn’t even give a call.

Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they’ll tell you to be there when they want. That was frustrating for my wife because she was actually there waiting for them then they wouldn’t show up. One time, they did come and my wife was in the back at the pool. I guess they knocked at the front door, waited for five minutes then left. But they never did a phone call to let her know that she was gonna wait. The communication from their side was very poor. If I ever have any plumbing issues, I would never use that company.

It was strange that it would take nearly 30 days to get the sink fixed. They would tell me that they had to wait for the actual faucet to come in, but that came in fairly quickly. That experience was not so good. It just took so long to get everything completed and get through the process. But they fixed the shutoff valve issue. They then said there were hard water deposits on the faucet. They had to get that fixed too. Once the faucet was fixed, it seemed to be working fine. It was just getting to that point that was frustrating and the back and forth with the company.

I bought a previously owned home and as part of the contract, I was given a one-year warranty with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. I decided to keep it and have been doing it each year. Although I have not had a lot of claims, I’ve had enough that it seems to me that it’s worth having. However, when I had a water main break, it was not covered because it was outside the perimeter of my house. That was about $2,000 that I wasn’t expecting to spend and I wasn’t thrilled about it. Other than that, submitting claims online with 2-10 is easy as long as I can remember my password, which is always the hardest part of logging in. When I submit claims, I get an email telling me that the claim has been assigned to a contractor. They also give me the contractor's name and phone number. And I usually get a call from the service provider within 24 hours to schedule a time for them to come out and take a look. And my interactions with them have been fine.

We’ve had coverage from 2-10 for a little over a year and we’ve done claims both online and over the phone. Initially, it was difficult over the phone because the person couldn’t understand my accent very well. Online makes it a lot easier but when somebody just picks up the phone, then, that makes it a lot easier as well. There was some issue with the gas valve on the cook top. When we turned the starter on, it just kept on sparking. When I called 2-10, they got a guy to come over and look at it. He said it needed some parts changed. I said okay and he contacted 2-10. They could not find the part, so 2-10 offered me a voucher to go and get the cooktop myself. The contractor was good and the contact for the cooktop was very good.

I recently made an online claim for a plumbing repair and the process was easy enough, though it could be a little bit more robust. It'd be better if I could input more options on what I would like done with the problem. The contractor came out in less than a week and everything was fine, except there's still a small problem and I'm still trying to get that fixed with them. I have to contact 2-10 again because they've already submitted a new request to have that company come back and adjust the problem, but that company never followed up with me.

I noticed my refrigerator was not cooling as expected, I went to the 2-10 website and submitted a claim. This was on a Saturday around noon. On Sunday I called 2-10 and was informed the contractor they had selected had until Monday to call me. I instead called them at 8am Monday and was told someone could be out on Tuesday. Tuesday they did send a repair person who determined what the problem was. Mac however did not turn in his paperwork, and as of Wednesday afternoon that hasn't been done yet. So 2-10 cannot authorize a repair, a small fan that circulates air from freezer to fridge.

Tomorrow is Thursday, the earliest they can order the part, no calls weekends. It will be at least Monday before the part is received. No Refrigerator for all that time. That's not acceptable. So I am still waiting. I wish I had gotten some better coverage from someone else. This 2-10 process is slow, and drawn out. I will be cancelling my coverage with them when this is over.

The seller of our home paid for 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for the first year for us. I just renewed it, and this is my second time to renew, so we've been covered for three years. I submitted a claim both online and over the phone. My first claim was over the phone, and the reps I spoke with were very helpful. And the latest two times, I did the claims online. It’s faster.

My experiences with my microwave and my garbage disposal went very well, other than the person who looked at the microwave and evaluated what was wrong with it. When 2-10 agreed and settled, that particular provider didn’t wanna come back out. And they had 2-10 found another person to come and do the install. 2-10 just told me that that particular company didn’t wanna come back and do the install. I suspect it may have been because of the location of that particular company. They were farther away. The person who ultimately installed it was closer to our location.

The only time I had a problem was when I had a hot water heater that ruptured, and they had to send somebody out to determine that that was accurate. I get that, although I had water all over my house, and I could see where it had busted. So, it wasn’t a question about what was wrong with it. The problem was the length of time. The whole hot water heater had to be replaced. They wouldn’t let the installer just purchase one locally. It had to be ordered and then shipped. And we were without hot water for 10 days. Fortunately, there were just two of us. Had I had children in my house, I would have had a bigger problem.

I had no hot water. In our subdivision, I would go down to our pool house every evening before it closed and just take a shower there. But what if I wouldn’t have had that? I thought, “Oh, my gosh, what if this was heat in the middle of the winter? It is gonna take me 10 days to get that taken care of?” So, I was a little concerned about that. There are certain things you would wait for that are not as big of an inconvenience, but for laundry and showering and bathing purposes, that was a little inconvenient.

Since our house was a little bit older, a home warranty would be a good idea with some of the appliances. I got coverage through 2-10 and when I had to submit a claim, I just went online. It was my first time and I had a tiny bit of trouble finding the “Submit a Claim” option, but once I found it, it was very easy. Navigating through the website was good and it was pretty intuitive for the most part. We were told that we would be contacted by the contractor.

Getting the dryer fixed took about a month because we were waiting on a part, and then the technician got sent the wrong part. So, we had to wait again for another part. It was frustrating but we knew there wasn’t a lot he could do with that. Once he had the part, he got the dryer fixed right away and it works really well now. The technician did a good job fixing it. He was also a really nice guy and he kept in contact. The time frame of this claim makes me wonder if fixing something really important, like the fridge, would take a month if it breaks. But overall, I was happy with my experience.

My air conditioner is working okay but it’s not working as it should. I submitted a claim with 2-10 on Wednesday and they referred me to an HVAC contractor. When I called the guy, he said he didn't know why 2-10 kept sending people to him since he doesn't do any work for them anymore. That was interesting. I called 2-10 back and they were very nice. They referred me to someone else right away and that person made an appointment now to come out and see the air conditioner. It was just a mix-up but it’s been rectified. Hopefully, everything goes well when the person comes out.

Before the AC, I made a claim for my garbage disposal. 2-10's claim representatives have been fine so far. But there are a lot of menus to get through to get to talk to somebody. I understand that helps route people to the right thing, but the dialing into that call, it’s just like the classic press this and press that. If there’s a way to streamline that where you can get to a person faster, I would be happier. But once I got somebody, they were very nice.

The contractor who came for the garbage disposal determined that it needed to be replaced. He submitted that for approval and it was approved. The guy was very nice, came back out and fixed that. I actually had him come back to do something else for me because he was so good. Everything’s been great so far. Hopefully, the air conditioner issue will be resolved as well as the garbage disposal.

When I tried to submit a claim I just called the number that was on my paperwork, and then the rep said she was going to have someone call us. Our refrigerator stopped working. It wasn’t keeping cold, and there was water leaking at the bottom. Submitting the claim to 2-10 was fine. We normally do our claims online, but we did this one over the phone because it was a fridge. And we were kinda hoping to get it quick because it was our only fridge in the house and with four kids, that’s kinda hard. But we had to wait about three weeks to get somebody out here to fix it. The contractor scheduled to come out, and then, two hours after they were supposed to be here, they called to cancel. They didn’t know when they were gonna be able to come out because they didn’t know when their guy was coming back from vacation. We submitted the claim on July 14th, and it was finally fixed on August 7th. It wound up not even being the parts that they were ordering. It was just the thermostat on the fridge. They misdiagnosed the repair problem.

I spoke to a bunch of reps from 2-10. Some were very helpful and said it was inaccessible. We had to wait this long and we’re trying to push it up. Others basically told us it is what it is, and that we had to wait. When I finally talked to the last rep in the purchasing department, she told me that I had to wait over 30 days for my fridge. And that this was normal. She was kinda rude about it. It was very frustrating with four kids and no fridge for three weeks. But the repair guy that came out was really nice and he happened to have the part on his truck. He fixed it and he was awesome. The fridge is working great ever since. Other times that we've had to submit claims to 2-10, our experience was great. But this time with the fridge was a pretty bad experience.

I submitted the claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty over the phone and they gave me a number to call and told me what to do. They told me it was Roto-Rooter. I called them and they said they didn’t know anything about it and didn’t know anything about what your business was. So what they told me and what the person who I was supposed to call, was completely different. I called 2-10 back and they said that they would take care of it, which they did.

The guys from 2-10 said that the Roto-Rooter was gonna charged this amount and pay with a check if I wasn't not gonna be there. So, I drove to Herriman and left a check. They also said that I was supposed to get some detailed report about the claim and that they told my renters how much they had charged. But when the service was completed and I called my renter to see if everything was done, he said it was done and they didn’t leave anything. He also said it took four hours, which wasn't that great. I could have changed the faucet in an hour and regular plumber would have been better instead of Roto-Rooter.

The Roto-Rooter guy had to leave the premises twice to get parts and the bill added up twice which wasn’t right. They were billing high because it was being run through the insurance. I would have liked to have known how much the faucet was or to have been included in the brand that was chosen, and I didn’t get to do anything. 2-10 acted fast when we called them and the problem was taken care of, but I just would have liked to have been part of it.

There was a hinge on it that came off and, unfortunately, they discontinued that part. So, I'm in the process of getting a new oven -- the issue happened on the 4th of July when I had a chicken dip all ready and pre-mixed together and I went to go put it in, and then that was when the hinge fell off. 2-10 said that I could take the oven that they would give me, or I could take the cash in lieu of it. I went with cash because if I am going to get something, I want something that matches. Overall, I'm very happy that I kept the warranty because, all of a sudden, everything started breaking one after another. I definitely recommend this company.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty's reps were okay when I submitted my claim over the phone and I may have had to call twice to get better clarification. I wanted my own contractor to do the repairs and I was still a little unclear on some things. The heater broke on a Sunday and I called 2-10 the same day. They said that they couldn't approve any out-of-network things because that department was closed on Sundays. I gotta wait until Monday and then, their guy was gonna come in and assess the problem. Then they may have to order a part and it could take a couple of days. I’m gonna be without a water heater for potentially a week and something like that was unacceptable.

I called my guy on Sunday and by Monday, he fixed the issue. I wasn’t even at home when he came to do it because I trust him and I left him the key. 2-10 only gave me $800 on the $1,200 water heater so I was on the hook for 400. If I went through one of their people, maybe I would've gotten a little bit more but I knew my contractor was gonna do the job right the first time so I didn't wanna have to go through hoops if I had a problem. The reimbursement took about a week, which was much quicker than I thought it would take. I had another plumbing problem about a month before that and the refund took about two weeks. I had a discrepancy on that as well since I used my own contractor but they sent me two checks to make good on what they initially quoted me after I complained.

2-10 can improve on when customers want to use their own contractor. The contractor has to call them ahead of time and they have to go through a lot of hoops to get approval. Then, there are certain things that they will not cover. I understand their point though. They're not at the house so someone can be committing fraud. Your friend could say that the water heater is broken so 2-10 would give you a check for $1,500 but there needs to be a better way. 2-10 could say that if the contractor is licensed and sends pictures, they could reimburse more. Also, there was a possibility I may or may not get reimbursed.

2-10 should scale their repairs based on the stuff that breaks. If the toilet breaks then they could ask how many other toilets the customer has in their house. If there are two then the repair could wait for four days. Certain things should be a much higher priority. Some of these home warranty companies are tough to work with, but some are really good. I’ve had very good experiences with other companies and 2-10 is in the middle. They're not bad, but if they took into account what I’ve said, maybe they would get even better. Once they figure that out, they can use that as a marketing thing.

Moved into house in February. Tried oven first week, and it wouldn't shut off at temp (almost caught the pizza on fire). Submitted a claim. First contractor assigned stole the $100 basically. They did refund it. Second contractor never showed. Third contractor said it was a bad control board, but they can't fix it. Fourth contractor did pull the board and send it for repairs, but said "wiring is shot, needs replaced". Worked for about 3 weeks (it's June now), and then almost caught on fire based on the burnt wiring smell. 4th contractor reassigned, but told me when I called him "I won't touch that thing again". I let 2-10 know, since he didn't bother to tell them.

5th contractor assigned, looks at it, and says, "Yes all of the wiring is bad." Never submitted diagnoses to 2-10, and wouldn't return my calls. Called the purchasing department in early July. "Oh yes we will replace it, no problem - look for an email". No email came. Called again in mid-July. This time the answer was "we need to call the last two contractors to see why they won't work on it - we'll get back to you". Never got back to me. Called again August 12, asking for a supervisor. Was promised I would get a call back in 24-48 hours. Didn't get one. Called again on August 16. Same answer, I would get a call back in 24-48 hours. Didn't happen. At this point I would settle for a refund of the warranty cost and just pretend it never happened. What a terrible terrible company.

I got an application in the mail from 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and I did some research on them. I had a brand new home so I thought the more coverage, the better. Submitting a claim with 2-10 was great. I called them and then they asked some questions. They sent out a tech for my refrigerator. Their contractors were fine. They were very accommodating and they weren’t rude. They came out a couple of times. Then it finally couldn’t be fixed, and I chose a buyout. They sent me the check, and I bought another refrigerator. It was a little inconvenient, but it was totally simple. I would advise anyone to utilize 2-10.

And on the bottom, there was water damage. So, I called 2-10 to make sure that the issue was covered and to get that fixed. The claim process was easy and a contractor called me the next day to schedule. The garbage disposal got replaced the same day the contractor came out, and everything was good and fast.

He came out immediately, which was on a weekend, and I was surprised. The part had to be sourced because the refrigerator was older. So, it did take a while, but it was just the ice maker. It was a little inconvenient, but the refrigerator still worked. At first, I was apprehensive with my 2-10 experience because I have another warranty company on another property, but it was a great experience, overall.

My air conditioner broke down, twice in a row. The last owner just hadn’t done any of their regular maintenance in the last 10 years, so it needed a couple of things. I submitted my claims online with 2-10 and the process was easy enough. They ended up kind of wrapping up the two different problems into one claim and the repair people fixed it. 2-10 wouldn’t cover anything that they considered regular maintenance though. One thing that broke was a capacitor and 2-10 covered that. They covered the second visit fee as well. But they charged me for the repair of that. 2-10 also ended up telling me to find a contractor, so I picked the same guys that I had hired at my last house. I like them. Other than that, 2-10 covered almost half of the cost for the contractor I got.

When we bought our house, there were a couple of issues which we had the previous owner write us checks to get fixed. To be safe, we acquired a 2-10 warranty on top of that just in case we ran into problems in the future. When we had a plumbing issue, we called 2-10. We had a plumber come to fix the issue and he went through all the steps to do that. After our call for the initial plumbing issue, it was the plumber who called 2-10 the whole time and dealt with the whole thing.

Our experience was good at first but we kinda got the short end of the stick. The first plumber that came over did some work but he didn’t do the necessary thing to get the leak fixed. He was also very unprofessional. He brought his daughter and two of her friends, and he left them sitting outside. He didn’t have any AC in his truck. We told him to bring his companions in because it was so hot outside. Also, he used my tools to do the job because he couldn’t find his keys to get his van. He came here in his personal truck.

We had to have another plumber come back. He was a very knowledgeable and professional person. He was the one who resolved all the problems. But when we called 2-10 to tell them that we were ready for the drywall to be fixed, they told us that we already used up all the money. They told us that only 500 bucks was allotted and we used too much on the first two plumbers. Now, we have a bunch of holes in our wall that weren’t necessary and 25-10 is telling us they won't fix it.

Our house's previous owners bought us a year’s contract with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. We've had it since February and have attempted to submit a couple of claims, one was online and the other was through a person, and it was very cumbersome. Through the person, the wait was extremely long. Plus, explaining the issue and getting them to even approve it was an issue. Then, it took forever for their guy to call me back. I paid their guy the 100 bucks like I was supposed to, but when the repair cost came in, the reimbursement was $100. They said I needed to pay 100 bucks, which I already did, but they were not hearing any of that and I don’t have enough time to talk to them anymore.

The first contractor took over a week to call me back. When they showed up, they inspected the issue and assumed it was another issue. They pointed me at another company which the warranty would not pay for, so I had to pay out of pocket. Then, when 2-10 tried to schedule me with the first company again to do the repairs once they found the leak, I couldn’t get a hold of them and I had to go off on my own.

I’ve lived in my house since April and this was the second sewage backup that I had in my basement. I didn’t know if 2-10 warranty could help me out on the second sewage backup or not, but I thought I would put it in and give it a try. With the first sewage backup, when my submission went through, Ryan called me and said they won't be able to cover the whole bill. But they covered $1,500, which was wonderful, and I very much appreciated that.

When it happened the first time, Roto-Rooter came and they found gravel in one of the pipes. They thought the pipe was broken but once they got to it, they realized the pipe was not broken. Whoever had placed the pipe had done the work down in the basement and somehow left gravel in the pipe. The toilet paper was getting stuck and clogging there. And then, they thought they had it fixed.

The second time the sewage came back up again, they went to another section that was under the carpet. There was a long line of discolored concrete. They took a pipe down there and realized that what should have looked a certain way looked a different way. The bad pipe almost looked like an L shape, which would have everything being clogged up in the corner. So, they took out a piece of that pipe and then replaced that in order for clogs not to continue happening. They had to take out more drywall and I lost a piece of furniture. They had to go through boxes, and some mementos that had to be thrown away.

And I thought the basement was enough. My air conditioner has been out since Saturday. I waited on the line for a very long time, almost a half an hour, to submit the claim. I have made so many calls over this summer about this thing that still is not resolved. The HVAC man came today and told me that the air conditioning has a split in the line, and if they put Freon in it, it’s just gonna come back out.

Nevertheless, 2-10 has been fantastic. I’ve spoken to a lot of their people in the past four months, and everyone has been so kind and understanding. I’ve never had a home warranty company before to work with, so this is a new experience for me. It’s stressful being in a new home, and to have all of this happening at the same time. I've asked the heaven for help, and everybody at 2-10 has been super helpful. It's awesome.

We’ve had 2-10 for more than 20 years. I am very happy with my every experience. I start the claim online, and then if I don’t get a call from someone, from a contractor within the period of time that they give me, then I will call. I usually get better results when I call, but I have also done some things online. We, however, had one situation with refrigerator last year. It was not 2-10’s fault as the contractor that they sent was just unresponsive. But we got that all taken care of, and 2-10 took care of it immediately when we let them know about it. The next contractor who came out and worked with us told us that we were going to have to have a new refrigerator. All of that was done online, and it was a good thing that we did because I was able to document everything and send it to 2-10. Then they called me back and we did everything over the phone.

This year, we had to replace our dishwasher, and we had a great experience with it, too. We had a chance before we were going to get it fixed to do a buyout, and I thought, “Well, let’s just try and see, but if we can fix it, then fine. And if not, then we’ll get a new one.” So, they went through that situation with us and sent out a really good contractor, who did a great job.

2-10 even called me back to say they couldn’t find the part because it was a 20-year old dishwasher, so they had to buy it on eBay, and so we did. Then the contractor brought it back out to install it, and he noticed on the motherboard that what they had purchased was burned out in one tiny little section. But, he went ahead and tried it to see if it worked, and it would not. It would not even start. So, they could not find another part anywhere. So, I thanked the contractor, and 2-10 called me back immediately and told us what they could give us, and they sent us the check and we got a new dishwasher, and I’m happy as can be with it. Everything that we’ve ever had has been great. We’ve heard other neighbors and friends who have had other companies that have not been pleased, and we have just said, “Well, you need to call 2-10.”

We just bought our first house six months ago and it was part of the contract to get 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. It came recommended from our realtor, and the seller's realtor as well that 2-10 was a good home warranty to go with. I went online to their website and submitted a claim. And it just asked which system in the house it was a part of. So, in our case, the first one was a dishwasher. And we just wrote in what was going in, and they sent somebody out the next day. The whole process was pretty easy. After I filed that first claim, it was really easy. But finding where to actually file one and how to navigate that took maybe two or three minutes to kinda get the grasp of it. But after that, it wasn't difficult at all.

The service contractor got to me quickly and they let me know what time they would be out, and showed up on time, or within their window, which was a small window, so it wasn't bad. And they diagnosed the issue and then tried to get a part to repair it. But it took a couple of days for them to find that they don't make it anymore. 2-10 tried to look on their behalf as well and couldn't find it, so we ended up having to get a new one. It was a bigger process than we were hoping, but I understand this house is 30 years old, and the dishwasher was original, so it makes sense.

2-10 has been very attentive. We kinda do some things that have come up with the house that we didn't know were gonna happen, and they've been very good about it. I had a lot come up in six months and they've helped a lot, so it's been nice. Our experience with 2-10 was very positive and timely. It took a lot of the anxiety off.

I gave them another week, and I called again, but the parts were not ordered yet. And then, the contractor was gonna go on vacation, so it was another month before it got fixed. They finally did, but it was longer than what I expected. Also, now that the dispenser is working, it should take it a bit faster for the ice to make. Before it was dispensing fast. So, it means it makes a lot. And now that the dispenser is working, it's really slow. Other than that, I did the claim online and it was very easy. It took two days to get the contractor out, which wasn’t long at all.

Overall, every contractor has been good. I don't have any issues with anyone. It’s just that when the contractor comes and puts in the diagnosis code and sends to 2-10, sometimes, there have been delays. And sometimes there have been miscommunications between the contractor and 2-10. In which case, I call the contractor, and they don't have adequate information, and I call 2-10, and they are saying something different. Also, there was one instance where the person on the phone just put me on hold, and it went into the loop, and I was on hold for half an hour. I tried to submit a claim online with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, but I didn’t get any response from any of the service providers. So, then my agent called the warranty company, and they contacted me through email, and then we went from there. We decided not to go with the contractor because too much time had passed. So, 2-10 just offered me a check toward the purchase of a new item, which is what I chose. And that process was good. It came quickly.

2-10's app needs a better interface though. It was really hard to make contact with anybody. I had to go a different route to make contact. And then also, when the job got sent out to a contractor and I got no response from the contractor, the information that I was given for contacting the contractor directly was either incorrect or the contractor does not have a working phone number. So, that became a series of frustrations. I told 2-10 I’ve not heard back from the contractor. They said if I don’t hear back in this many days that I should contact them directly. I tried to contact them. It was like a mailbox that was full or not functional. And so, there were a lot of barriers to communication.

Also, days are passing while I’m like, “Well, it is fair that I give them two or three days to respond.” But then two or three days passed, and they didn’t respond. I tried and got in touch with them. I had to start all over and be put back in the queue with another contractor. That’s not on the warranty company. That’s on the actual contractors. But 2-10 should have relationships with contractors who want to do work or are available to take jobs. And if it’s assigned to a company, they should be able to do a job.

I submitted a claim for my attic fan over the phone and the 2-10 rep that helped me was good. However, it took a week before a contractor came out and the work he did was very poor. He didn’t do the job the way it was supposed to be done. It was an older attic fan with a nine-inch hole, but he took a fan that’s 24 inches in diameter, and mounted that over a nine-inch hole. You’re not gonna get proper attic air flow trying to push 24 inches of air out of a nine-inch hole. I called back and they just said that it was working so that was good enough.

Our dishwasher wasn’t washing the dishes. There would be a slime on them and it didn’t clean the dishes. My first claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was submitted online, and I got an email saying that the contractor would contact me. However nobody responded from online but once I got somebody on the phone, the experience was great. The lady said that she would get me a new contractor and then she asked me what was wrong with the dishwasher. Then she said that she would just give me a credit and I could go out and buy a new one. So that was what we did. They just let me pick out whatever I wanted and gave me a payout. And we’re happy with it. Overall, the service from 2-10 was good. They just need to fix their online connection.

We’ve had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty since May and everything has been great. When we did our claim submission, it was over the phone and everybody at 2-10 was great. But whoever was working reception at the contractor's, we told them twice that it needed to be on a certain day. But they didn’t schedule it and we almost couldn’t get it done for a three-week period. They should make sure the receptionists are putting everything into the schedule when it’s requested. But their crew is fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and they worked very quickly. I’ll definitely recommend 2-10. Everything was clearly outlined with what was covered and the additional charges. I had no qualms with them.

I bought the house in September and because of issues that could arise in the house when we were first buying it, my realtor got a home warranty. The previous owners of the house bought a 2-10 home warranty and I would have had it for a year already by the end of this month. Submitting claims have been easy. The reps are very friendly people when I talk to them. And usually, I would have a service person come to the house within 24 hours of me calling. All of the contractors have been very nice, professional and courteous. Recently, the seals in two of the commodes were broken so they replaced those, which fixed the leak from the upstairs bathroom. Everything has been functioning perfectly since.

I used to have HMS but when I moved to Virginia, the counteragent said that he had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. So, I contacted him, and I picked him up on the first warranty. And then, I was happy with them, so I continued on. I always submitted claims online. They're very courteous, they respond quickly and I've had a very good experience with them. That's why they raised their deductible from $75 to $89 and they raised their rate. I'm a Realtor myself. I was paying 500 and some. This year, I almost paid almost 700. But they're good.

I had an issue with my dishwasher. And last year, within the contract anniversary, I had the same problem. The tech came and he was very nice. He fixed it so the machine started working, and told me that there were some issues with the dampers. This year I had the same problem again. A guy came and he brought the dampers. He replaced the parts and pump. So far, so good. I'm very satisfied with 2-10. I'm on my fourth time that I'm renewing my membership and I hope they don't raise the price for next year.

When we had a problem with the hot water heater, I submitted the claim online, then it was created like some sort of a ticket number or case number. And then, I called 2-10 to find out what happened. And when the contractor came in, he was on the phone with 2-10, and then, he provided all the information and left. And then, I thought the claim would continue on its own and someone will order the part, and then the contractor will come in and install it. So, contractor told to me that they wanna wait for a phone call to come in and to say, “Everything is good.” When I did not get any call, out of curiosity, I just called the next day. It was Friday. At that time, they did the approval.

The contractor did the work and did a good job. The only thing was it took some time to get it done. I don't know if we were not a higher priority or whatever the reason. But when I called them, initially, they said it was gonna take three days, but they couldn't come in. Because of the weekend, they ended up coming the following week.

2-10 needs to come up with some sort of a mechanism where when the contractor comes in and he notifies you with all the requirements, someone should reach out to the client, like myself, and tell me that, “If this process is done, the next one will kick on. But for that, we need your approval.” What they were waiting for was just a charge which I have to accept, saying that, “Yes, I will pay this much for you to continue on.” I did say that when the contractor was there. But for some reason, in 2-10's system, it wasn't recorded. I’m not sure if it was like an operator fault or something with the process or procedure. All in all, the claim process took about 8 to 10 days. If it was the winter, then I would be more concerned. But then, it is during the summertime here so it’s okay. We were able to use a little bit cold water, and it was okay. The only thing is if it could be expedited and could have been done sooner than later.

We've had to use 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty twice since the home was purchased and everything was easy and timely. Plus, filing the claim for the plumbing was straightforward. They sent someone out who fixed it but it was the week before July 4th and there weren't common plumbers that can do what I needed to be done. So I had to wait a week once the appointment was made. It would have been a pain if I haven't already had a plan to leave. I wouldn't have been able to cook or bathe at home because I didn't have natural gas. I talked to someone a couple of times because I was trying to figure out if there was another company that could come work on it and everyone was helpful. It was a good experience overall.

My claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for my pool was very painful. I submitted it online and it was easy to do. The guy came out to repair the pump. In the process of repairing it, the electrical wiring broke. Then he said, "Sorry, I'm not an electrician. I can't rewire it." So I had to call 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty back and they had to set up an electrician to come out. He came out, tried to fix and claimed he rewired it. Then, it didn't work when they connected it up. So I had to get the original guy back out. It was not a very good process 'cause you're gonna assume that a pool company deals with power. But they weren't able to complete the whole job and I needed to wait for another electrician who couldn't get here 'til the next Thursday or whatever.

The pool ended up being down for over two weeks. So, in the meantime, it just keeps getting greener and greener and it ended up costing me $200 to get the pool guy to come in and put chemicals in which 2-10 didn't reimburse me. This particular claim was a little trying but in general, I had pretty good experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty.

Our realtor got 2-10 for us and it has been good so far. Claim submission over the phone is pretty simple. Everything has been good. When we did the laundry, there was a flood in the washing machine area in that closet in the garage, and we couldn’t find out why. So, we called the plumbers to come out and look and they could see that the T-shaped was not in the right place. So, accordingly, 2-10 wouldn’t cover that part of the warranty, so I had to do that part myself. The previous owner had remodeled and when he did, he left a bad wiring inside the wall, and that was how that came about. In working with 2-10, so far they had to snake the main line twice, the AC, the hot water tank, and electrical. The contractor that came did their job and everything has been top-notch. They’ve been really good to us, and everything has been outstanding.

We have this warranty with this company because the previous homeowners bought it for us. We recently placed a service request in on July 21st 2019. We had a contractor assigned to us within 48 hours. We did have to reach out to them because they didn’t call us, which is what the email had stated to do. The owner of the company said he’d have someone out by the end of the week for us. The end of the week comes around and no one showed up. I called on the weekend but now the owner is on vacation. He calls me Sunday or Monday and says “yeah someone was out right? !” No. No one showed up, turns out another call came in and they went to that house instead of ours!!! So someone came out to the house finally later that week and told us they needed to order parts. Great, no big deal.

The owner of the AC company said he’d get a hold of us when the parts came in because someone needed to be home to let him him. Again, no big deal. My husband works night shift so I knew it would by myself who would be home to let someone in. So I waited a week, didn’t hear anything. I started calling, no one was answering the phone. I finally called the warranty company. They placed me on hold, called the AC man and HE ANSWERED. So I was connected with him, he then goes on to tell me that he had our part for 2 and half weeks!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So fine, I’m being nice because I get they are busy and other things have happened. He then states that he just didn’t feel like calling because he didn’t want to come to our house in the afternoon. Mind you, it’s now week 3 of having no AC.

He’s going on telling me that the afternoons don’t works for him. I also work a full time job and don’t really want to lose out on any pay either but we need this fixed. I’m normally home by 330 in the afternoon and I don’t think that’s an unreasonable time frame. So I asked my mom to come over. He called on a Tuesday (going into week 4) and told my mom that he’d call her back within an hour to let her know what time he would show that day. HE NEVER CALLED OR SHOWED. He called us the next day, said the same thing and actually showed. I ended up leaving work early because he was telling my mom that we owed him more money. Mind you, I paid our $100 deductible already. My mom had no clue, she wasn’t the ones dealing with him. So I get home, he shows and puts the new parts in.

He decides to ask for the deductible again!!! I didn’t give him any more money. I called to make sure and the warranty company said we don’t owe him anything. I am grateful that this has finally been fixed but 4 weeks?! I have an 18 month old at home and animals, we shouldn’t have been without AC this long especially after he told me he had been holding onto the parts for 2 and half weeks. Our electric bill is now $150 higher from having to rim window units along with box fans so my son could get a half decent night's rest. I spent $100 on the deductible and now the electric. I could have used the $250 and called someone else. I am not happy with our this played out.

I used to be with American Home Shield but I wasn’t happy with them and I switched to 2-10. This is the coverage that I have for my rentals and I have them on four. I’ve had 2-10 for less than a year and I’m having a bit of a problem with them based on the companies that they use. The claim that I had six months ago took more than three weeks and the contractor didn’t fix it. They just gave a report. It was taking too long so, I went and got my own company. I paid $1,600 and called 2-10 to tell them what happened. They said that the portion that they would pay was $600. I wasn’t happy with that at all so I canceled for that house.

If the claim is under $250, it gets fixed pretty quickly but if it is over that, they have to call in and submit a report, then 2-10 would agree or disagree with it. If they want to find the part, they won’t let the contractor buy the part. 2-10 would source the part. All this process sometimes takes four weeks. When the system goes down in cold weather or hot weather, you just can’t wait that long. It’s just not feasible. I’m assuming 2-10 is hoping that the owner would go and fix it, and then they would reimburse it to a fraction of what the cost was, which is really not right. The reason I got the warranty was so I won’t have any surprises so I can plan my expenses, especially being a rental.

So, suddenly, you find out that they’re not gonna cover. You have to come up with some sort of money because they don’t fix it fast enough. I would have a danger of losing my tenants or they could sue me. That is not working, so I’m contemplating either to cancel it completely or go elsewhere and see whether any other company can do anything like that. You pay $50 a month on average, then any time the technician comes out, you pay $100 out of pocket. So, that gets covered so 2-10 doesn’t pay anything. If it gets to a point where 2-10 has to pay the contractor, then that’s where the problem starts.

I’ve heard really good things about 2-10 and that’s why I joined, but I found out that this is what’s happening. The reason I left American Home Shield was because they had exactly the same process. I am at the moment dissatisfied with 2-10 and I’m just trying to see how it’s gonna go. Altogether, I had three claims. I had to do two of the claims myself because it went over three weeks, and both of them, I only got a fraction back. The last one was a couple of days ago and it was pretty quick. The guy came the next day, which was really good, and fixed it. It was a simple repair. It was just a loose wire and he connected it and that was it. So, we didn’t have to call in for any repairs to be approved. At the moment, I’m waiting to see whether it’s gonna take too long or not if something big goes wrong. One out of three at the most is good experience but I won’t recommend 2-10.

I was trying to place my problem and it wouldn’t accept, so I ended up calling the 1-800 number. I've had about four instances and about five contractors total, and the problem was only one of them. The issue was a microwave and he was trying several different things and taking out all the parts and different things three times and brought it back and still didn’t work. So, they finally had another contractor come out to resolve the issue and ended up giving me money for a new microwave. Overall, 2-10 has resolved the issues. A couple of times, it's taken a little extra time, but it's always gotten resolved to my satisfaction in the end.

I told him that sometimes, a person has to work a whole week before getting paid. I knew that was the policy, but I had to give him a little run for his money. I recently filed a claim with 2-10 for my refrigerator that completely stopped working on the 4th of July. The contractor was very difficult. I had a really hard time with the contractor. The refrigerator went out on the 4th of July, which was a Thursday. I put it in first thing Friday morning, the 5th of July, and I couldn't get anybody out to look at it until the following Monday. And then, once they came out, they didn't have the part. They told us that it would be another week and a half before they could get the part and install it. And so, that was when I went back and forth with 2-10 about perhaps doing the buyout and just buying a new fridge because that was gonna be two weeks without a fridge.

The contractor was kind of difficult to get a hold of. Once I made my decision, I tried to call back, and they're like, “We can’t talk to you. We’re still on the phone with 2-10.” And I said, “Well, 2-10 told me to call you as soon as I made my decision.” They kind of made it difficult to get it all set up. And then, once they did set it up, I wasn’t here. I was in New York for work. My parents were at the house when they came to do the final work. And I left a check. But they never asked for it, and my dad forgot about it. That happened on a Friday night that they installed it. While I was in New York, I got an invoice. I got it on a Tuesday. I double checked with my dad, and he said he didn't pay. He forgot to give the guy the check. And so I thought as soon as I get home, I’d just mail the check I already have written.

By Thursday, I’d gotten another email telling me that I was past due, and I started to get text messages saying that I was past due. And so, I texted back, and I was concerned. I got the invoice two days prior. How was I past due? And then, they started telling me I was negligent because I should have paid them the very first time they came out. It put a bad taste in my mouth. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty's contractor was very responsive and explained what was going on with my washer. It was unfixable though so 2-10 gave me money and I purchased a new one. The process in getting the approval and the check was okay.

We’ve had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty from the day of closing this house, which was on June 6th. It was the one that was recommended to us. I just signed the paperwork and did what I was told. The contractor was great. He came in, explained the problem and said how he was gonna fix it. When they couldn’t fix it, we got the notification of the replacement options. It was all very timely. We got the check for the refrigerator and so far, the experience with 2-10 has been good.

2-10 was a great company. It was recommended through our realtor and I've had it for a couple of years. You can submit claims online and that’s semi-smooth. It’s a little bit difficult to navigate the website, to figure out how to submit a claim. But once you get it submitted, they’re prompt to getting a contractor to contact you, assuming that there’s a contractor in-network that you can actually get to come to the house. And for the first year, it was pretty smooth. There were always contractors coming out doing the services that we requested. We pay the deductible and that’s good.

Recently, though, it's like every claim that we file, the contractor would have to be out of network because they couldn’t get anybody to come and do the work. And then, getting an out-of-network contractor to call and try to get paid by 2-10, most of them refuse to call 2-10 to go through the motions. On our claim with the washer and dryer, the contractor came and fixed the washer, but there was some debacle with the dryer that it took them over 30 days to come out to fix it. So, that didn’t work out too well. And it wasn’t like somebody pulling up in a van then stating he's the contractor, working for a certain company. It was like, the guy pulling up in a Ford Mustang with his girlfriend waiting in the car for him. That doesn’t seem very professional, considering the amount of money that’s invested annually to this company.

One more thing, we had a leaky pipe in the ceiling, and the water heater broke, and they sent a guy out. On a good note, they were able to consolidate both repairs under the same thing, but they still have yet to fix a large hole on my ceiling. By contract, it’s supposed to be a rough finish that’s done on it, but the plumber that came out refused to do it, because he said he’ll never get paid. I called 2-10 and they said I could get an out-of-network guy, but I can’t get any out-of-network people to come over and do it. Ultimately, 2-10 would give me $75 for it, but I’m quoted $250 plus just to do a rough finish patch on this wall. So, that’s just bad business. 2-10 did what they’re supposed to do for the most part, but that’s it. We won’t be renewing with this company.

So my fridge broke, computer core appliance guy said. Came out to fix but he was an idiot and didn’t actually fix it. Didn’t check to see if it was actually working after he “repaired it”... So now I’m at 2 weeks without a fridge. So they determine it’s the compressor, again. This same appliance repair company replaced the compressor last year when I was with another warranty company. New repair guy says it’s not worth fixing, the repair won’t hold. And he wrote it up like that!

Next day (a Friday) I get a call from a lady at 2-10 who says, "great news," they’re going to REPLACE the fridge! Yay!!! I make her confirm that they won’t come back and tell me next week that they are going to fix the old one... She says, "no, of course not! You’re getting a NEW one! Give them 3-4 days."

Next Friday (5 business day later) I call THEM! To see what’s up and they inform me they’re going to FIX it?!? Wtf?!?! As previously stated the compressor was replaced less than a year ago, but apparently not by THEM. So guess what it does NOT count! Summary they lie, and they don’t keep you informed. Also it doesn’t matter who fixes your appliances. It could be the SAME repair company, and your appliances could have been covered under a home warranty for 6 years (as long as I’ve own the house) but if it wasn’t under their warranty it’s as if it NEVER HAPPENED!

    Reviewed Aug. 16, 2019

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty came with my house and I've been with them for two years. However, it’s taken about two months for them to fix my AC. We’ve been without AC for over two months now because it’s taking them that long. I have seven kids, and one of them is with asthma, and it’s been really bad. And it’s still not even fixed 100%. Now, we have like a person that’s trying help us that’s part of 2-10. She's like higher up. And she’s been doing a good job. She checks on us and everything.

When I first did the claim, they sent somebody out here within two weeks, it took them a week and a half to two weeks to get somebody out here. The person came out here and said that a lot of stuff was wrong with it. He electrocuted himself. He never turned in the report to 2-10 saying what was wrong. He told us what was wrong with it, but never filled in the report. 2-10 waited another week to two weeks. They kept waiting for him to turn it in, and he still never turned it in. Then, they were sending another company out, and the company never came out. They were trying to send another company out, and the company has been closed since 2011.

They were trying to send a bunch of different companies out. And some of them didn't even take the warranty anymore. So, they finally got someone out here. And then, we had to have an electrician come out here because they fried a lot of our stuff when they were coming out and looking at it. Now, it went to a company who came out, said what needed to be done, told us that they were waiting on parts, didn't answer my phone calls, said that they were ordering a part, and then, they said that they were sick and they couldn't come for that whole week. They didn't call, didn't contact us, and then, they showed up here yesterday to fix my AC, and they didn't have a part on them.

“So, wait, the whole reason that we waited a week, a week and a half was because you were waiting on a part?” And the guy said, “I’m not gonna put a part in. I’m just gonna take the part and just basically gonna do it without the part.” So, my air conditioning’s not working right because of the simple fact that he took the part out and was trying to bypass it. And my AC’s working, but it will never shut off unless I go to the main breaker and turn my AC off. So now, my electric bill is gonna be through the roof. And because the AC hasn’t worked for so long, now my homeowner’s insurance is now cancelling my homeowner’s insurance because they do not cover people that don’t have air conditioning because we didn’t have air conditioning for two months. Now, I have to find another homeowner’s insurance. It’s been a big mess.

The contractors are not getting back with 2-10, but also, 2-10 is waiting and waiting for weeks to hear back from this person. They don't get ahold of them. They don't do anything. And then, the people that they're assigning to come out here are no longer part of that warranty program. Then, there was a guy that they signed us up to to come out here, and he had died in 2011 and was no longer open. So, it’s like we went through about seven AC guys before they realized none of these people take the stuff, and it’s taken very long because of it.

I didn't like that the guy took my part out and is bypassing it when that part was there for a reason. He told me that they're gonna get another part for it, but that was not the part they took out. Now, it has some other board that needs to be replaced, and that they gotta order it, but they're not gonna replace the other board that he took out, he just bypassed it, which has to do with controlling. I have two heat sources. I have a furnace and a heat pump, and it also controls the AC, when it comes on and when it comes off. He literally just took it out and just connected the wires together without it. He took it out yesterday.

I asked him if he was sure that I don't need that part, and he said I don't need it. But if it’s there, obviously I need that part. And we waited weeks for the part. It’s been so long. It’s like 98 degrees in here without the AC. And then, we were worried about mold growing, and this, that and the other because two months without air had been hectic. But me and my husband don't understand how it’s still not fixed. And then, the guy told me he doesn't know when they're gonna come back, but this is just a temporary solution to get the air running. I don't understand why they can’t just fix it right because he’s just saying that they're just gonna have to keep coming out. And that’s coming out of our pocket and 2-10’s pocket, and it shouldn’t be like that.

When I had an electrician come out for, 2-10 covered that because the original air conditioning guy came out and got fried outside between my air conditioning where he was messing with wires and the electrical box. That electrical box is outside for the AC, and he said that something needed to be redone and they did it. And we never heard back. I still haven’t heard back from that original company. And the way that I see it is if somebody’s like that to customers and to the warranty company, and they're not answering their calls, and not doing stuff in a timely manner, then I wouldn’t have them on my list.

Every time that 2-10 would give me someone, it would just take longer to find somebody else to come out here, and then take longer to keep going through all those people. My anxiety was so bad. And it was horrible. It still is because it’s not completely fixed, so I’m still not done dealing with it. I call the air conditioning company every day, “When are you gonna get the part?” They don't tell you when they come out. They’ll tell you 20 minutes before they're on their way to your house. What if people are at work? What if people are at the store?

Last week, I got upset because they came here Friday to fix the downstairs one. They got the downstairs one fixed. And then, I said, “Wait a minute. Where’s the part for upstairs? You were supposed to bring it.” And he’s like, “Oh, for some reason, they didn't have it.” And then, the lady called me. She was like, “For some reason, they didn't have it. We’ll have it on Monday. Worst case is Tuesday, we’ll be out to your house.”

I waited all day Monday, all day Tuesday, kept calling their phone, and there was no answer. On Wednesday, I called 2-10 and I was like, “What’s going on? They were supposed to be out here.” I kept calling. They didn't call me back until a million phone calls, and million emails, and other people from 2-10 got involved. And then, the lady finally contacted me last week. She told me that they were gonna be here Tuesday, that they got the part. And then, they showed up Tuesday with no part. They just took my part out and bypassed it.

2-10 just told me on Friday after I’ve been without air for two months, “You know that you can go get a window unit for up to $250, and we’ll reimburse you.” I said, “This would've been nice to know two months ago. Now, you’re telling me when they're supposed to fix it on Tuesday? Why would I go get it on the weekend if they're coming two days later?”

It’s been hectic. So, I don't know if I’m gonna stay with them. And then, the warranty company was trying to give us problems because when they sent the guy out to work on it, he electrocuted himself, and he fried components. And then, they tried telling me that they don't cover surges. It was a surge because he touched it with his tools, and he got zapped, and he fried it himself. So, originally, they told me that they weren’t gonna cover it and fix it. They said that that’s how it is. And then, what had happened was they didn't wanna cover it. They literally told me that it got denied. We waited. Then, a guy came because we changed our credit card, and the guy is like, “It’s time for you to update your thing. We noticed your credit card changed.” And I said, “Honestly, I don't know if I wanna pay for you guys anymore because you guys sent someone out here, they broke my stuff worse.”

When I originally called, it was because it wasn’t blowing cold enough. When the guy electrocuted himself, it went from that to not working at all. So, then, they got somebody else involved, and that lady got involved, and they sent out people to look at it and give her insight on what it was. Then, she overrided and had it fixed, so that part was good. But the fact that it’s taken two months to get it fixed, and now, by the time it gets completely fixed, it’s gonna be wintertime. 2-10 wasn't good until this lady got involved. But it took everything to happen and me threatening not to pay them no more for this lady to even get involved.

2-10 needs to update their people. They need to be on top of things. If you can’t get a hold of somebody in a day or two, you should assign somebody else and know that they're able to come out here. And they should be the ones calling and making the appointment for you, and not you having to call because that’s what it was. Until this other lady got involved, she’s the one that’s been calling, making the appointment, contacting, and she’s been very good at 2-10. But before that, when it was just dealing with normal, it was not good at all.

I called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty up and everything went pretty smooth. The plumber came out and he figured out what was going on, and then they replaced the water heater. It was just a couple of weeks after the plan had gone into effect, and everything just went really smooth. They took care of everything and it was great.

When the dryer wasn’t drying, we thought it was the heating element and it wound up to be some other tiny piece that needed to be replaced. We replaced the whole heating element on our own then we found out it was the piece behind that that needed to be replaced. The contractor was very polite and professional. He had to come back because they didn’t have the part that he needed, so he needed to go to Maryland to get the part. But he came just a day later and he fixed it. I’d recommend 2-10. We've had them for almost three years now. We’re in the middle of the country and nobody else will come out this far except them. We usually submit claims via online and we did it three times so far. I call 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty to submit my claims and all in all, it’s been pretty good. But the dishwasher claim was awful. They had a clerical error. And then, they accused me of lying about the clerical error and told me that I needed to hire my own contractor to diagnose my dishwasher that had already been diagnosed. And then after I spent two hours on the phone complaining and talking and getting put on hold, which I can only try to determine that the reason they kept putting me on hold is because they thought I was a liar and they wanted me to hang up, they eventually did agree to send a contractor out to diagnose it with the exact diagnosis that I said was the diagnosis and had paid for it from the previous contractor, proving the diagnosis. I even emailed that to 2-10, but the people who answered the phone at 2-10 are not the same people who receive emails and they don’t communicate.

I was like three weeks without a dishwasher because my dishwasher caught on fire and that was why I put in a claim. And they told me that I should turn it back on and see if it was working now because it was a drain issue. I was so mad, I almost cancelled. My dishwasher had an electrical fire and they told me that it was a drain issue when I had a contractor out here that said that the main board of the dishwasher was burning up. And the only reason it didn’t catch on complete fire was because I turned off the power to the dishwasher, and they told me to turn that dishwasher back on. They didn’t believe me.

The contractors were both pretty good. The original contractor actually called me. I don’t know where he disappeared to because I couldn’t get ahold of him for two weeks. But before that, he was good. And when he called me to schedule, because he had the main board to the dishwasher in his possession, I was like, “Oh, yeah, man. They already fixed it because they said that it was a drain issue and called me a liar. And I had to yell at them for an hour.” 2-10 eventually sent the contractor out. And then when I called them and told them that the contractor said it was the exact thing as the previous contractor, they said they'd give me my 75 bucks back for the first one. I was like, “Oh, cool. Thanks.” But I also had to take time off three separate times for this. It took my free time because I have paid time off, and that’s supposed to be so I can relax and not being stressed around by 2-10 Home Warranty. They really pissed me off.

My claims with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty were usually taken care of. So far, it has been mostly simple air conditioning things. A refill here and there and changing the capacitor. It’s stuff like normal wear and tear. One time, I had a hot water explode so that was replaced. The stove and the dishwasher were just recent. A couple of times, the pool system. Before we switched to salt, I had pool on them. But now, I don’t bother with the pool since 2-10 doesn’t support saltwater pools, which doesn’t make any sense because it’s not salt. It’s chlorine.

But there’s one claim that I have opened right now and I'm having a hard time getting ahold of the contractor. He changed the board but it didn’t fix the problem. And then he cleaned one of the relays and that fixed the problem. So he said, “Well, if the cleaning doesn’t help, then that part needs to be changed.” So, he knows the part number and that kind of stuff because he’s been here. I called him and he told me that I had to go back through 2-10, so I reopened the claim and now I’m still waiting. I haven’t heard from him. Now, sometimes the stove won’t shut off, sometimes it does. But other than that, I'm satisfied with 2-10. They're responsive. I’ve already referred people to them.

I made one claim in the five years we've been with them and it was for our refrigerator that had gone bad. I did it online and a ticket was created. 2-10 got in contact with a service provider and the service provider then contacted us. I made my request on a Friday and the service provider came on a Monday. It was a good response time. Everything was fine but the provider wasn’t able to fix the problem, so 2-10 paid us to get a different provider that could get it done. I wish, though, that 2-10 would’ve fixed the problem instead of just giving me money to get it fixed with someone else. Overall, it was a good experience. Everything pretty much was online although I called once to find out about how to get my money. It was pretty quick, like seven days, to get paid for that.

    Reviewed Aug. 16, 2019

We initially called 2-10 to have the AC units checked because the one we have on our second floor was not cooling. I knew something was up and we wanted to take advantage of the policy because it was offered when we bought the home and it is an older home. So, it was a really good thing. When the techs came out and fixed that unit, they knew right away it was low on Freon, that it needed pressure, and they needed to put some stuff in it. So, that worked out well. At the same time, the driver told us that we also had an issue with our other compressor. But he said they were only here to fix that one unit that they worked on and if we'd call in 2-10, they were not gonna charge us for another service fee. So, we thought that was great. We decided that we'd make the call, get them to authorize another service request, and we’d go from there. But when they came out to do the second one, the problems started.

They made a determination that we needed a new compressor and I know compressors are pretty expensive. So, at this stage, I thought that the warranty was a good deal. This was the kind of service we wanted. But it took about two weeks to get the compressor. It was not a big problem because the house was still cooling and the second level unit was now cooling, and I had gone through a whole process of adding insulation to the home. So, we were pretty encouraged. When the new compressor came in, the techs came out and installed it, but it didn’t cool the house. They installed it on a Friday and it got warmer and warmer. We were having to try to cool the house and the unit was running all day long but by Sunday night, I decided to call back in. I told 2-10 that the compressor that their contractor installed didn’t work and when I did that, things got even worse.

At that stage, they did not come out. I put the ticket in on a Sunday night and 2-10 did not call me back on Monday, I had to call them. So, I ended up calling the same company, Advanced Appliance, and I told them that I put another ticket in. They said that they saw the ticket and they could get someone out here on Tuesday. When they came, they said that the compressor was broken “out of the box” and that they were gonna have to get a new compressor because the part is under warranty. Then, it took two weeks before they could come back. They came and retrieved the old compressor though and at that point, all I could do was run the blowers. My entire basement and first level had no air conditioning. So, for a week and a half, we had to sleep on the second floor, which wasn’t the end of the world, but that was what we had to do. The bigger problem was that my mother-in-law, who was staying with us, was in the basement.

At some point, on a Friday afternoon, I finally got to a supervisor because I was getting the runaround. They were saying that the part was under warranty and they couldn't just swap it out with any unit. It had to go back to the dealer then they could get another one. And I was told that 2-10 was purchasing the compressor and it wasn’t the Advanced Appliance. So, that added another layer of complexity to it. When I asked them if they would cover the cost if I got my own air condition guy over here, 2-10 said they'd only cover it up to whatever they had been doing, which was $900 for the compressor and $165 for the service. So, I could have gotten my air condition guy over to do it and I would have been out-of-pocket for that whole amount plus whatever the difference was.

But I told them that they should be able to help service it as it was why I got the policy. I also said that I didn’t understand why there was no sense of urgency. If it was happening in the fall and the weather wasn’t so bad, I would sit there and say that it was not a huge deal. But, we had middle 90-degree temperatures and it was really hot, but there was no urgency to get the AC done. Then the last thing I found out that was that there were five compressors sitting in the Greensboro area where I live. Surely 2-10 could authorize Advanced Appliance to go to that Trane dealer, buy the unit there, and install it the next day. That was a no-brainer. But they said they couldn’t do it. I had to wait another full week before the unit could get installed. They had to wait for the unit to go back, then they had to wait for the unit to get delivered to Advanced, then Advanced came out and installed it the next day.

And whether I called Advanced Appliance or 2-10, it almost seemed like everybody was pointing their finger at each other. Advanced Appliance said that 2-10 bought the unit, so they had to get it returned. And they couldn't get the unit, 2-10 had to buy and send it in. And when the techs get it, then they'd come out and install it. But when I called 2-10, they said that they had to send the unit back before they could get a credit for it, then they’d buy me another unit to have it installed.

While all of that was going on, I felt like I was caught in the middle. And my electricity bill was going up big-time because I was having to run the second floor unit to compensate for the first level and for the basement. Now, 2-10 gave me $200 to purchase an air conditioning unit which wasn’t even enough to cover any kind of air conditioning unit. I ended up paying $350 for an air conditioning unit to be put in the window in the basement, just to cover a small little area in the basement. And I had to run that constantly just to keep the basement cool. So, the whole experience was very upsetting. I am at a point where I’ve got about 20 days to decide if I wanna continue the policy with 2-10 or do I let it end and go to another provider for a home warranty.

We got 2-10 from the previous homeowner, and we've been covered since February. Our experience submitting a claim has been really good and the claims process is easy. Only, it seems like you have to call the people, instead of the people calling you to set up scheduling, to get things going. That process is a little slow. I don’t know exactly what’s the turnaround time once we put the order in. So, if you’re not on top of things as the homeowner, then you’re waiting around. Also, I’m not sure if the service people know exactly what needs to be done, like does 2-10 just tell them or do they just base off of our notes that we put in there.

We didn’t have hot water, and the guy didn’t seem concerned. I know that’s not an emergency, but when you go a week without hot water, that puts a damper on showering, dishes and laundry. Then on a Monday, he told me that the soonest he could come out was Friday. I had to put in another order, trying to find somebody else to deal with that. Other than that, when the people do come out to get it done, you write them a check, that’s it. The only other downfall is that they don’t really give you a detailed order. They do the job, but they don’t give you an itemized fee, with all the parts and how much it would’ve cost me.

When I had an exhaust fan claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, the communication wasn't really good. It took about three days for the contractor to come out and they had to order parts. But 2-10 didn't communicate very well because the ticket somehow got misplaced and then they finally figured it out. It took about three weeks before it got fixed. So, it was frustrating. Also, I always seem to get lined up with this particular contractor for plumbing and electrical and they're too busy. 2-10 need more contractors that are not so slammed. Other than that, submitting online claims with them was pretty straightforward.

My recent claim for the washer was great, but it took quite a while for it to get resolved. I had to call and ask 2-10 before they went, "Oh, it's all been approved but no one's been sent to check yet". It took at least two weeks before I knew what I was going to get. We also did a claim last week when our AC went out, and it was a real mess. The AC went out on Sunday the 18th, and I placed a call and got a service request in immediately. We couldn't get a contractor out here until Wednesday to look at it. It was the hottest week ever in the Phoenix Valley, so I called to see about my option to go out of network, and spoke to someone at customer service at 2-10. The rep didn't seem very confident in the answers that she was giving me.

I called the local rep in Tucson, and he had a young woman call me back. We discussed going out of network, but at no point in time did either one of them tell me that I still needed to get an okay to go out of network. So, when I talked to the young woman, she told me the best I could hope for would be eight to nine days after the tech was here, for it to be resolved. It might be longer than that, depending on when they could find the part and get it in. We couldn't wait, so I went ahead and called a tech and had it fixed the next day, and then to find out that I was supposed to have gotten an okay to go out of network.

All in all, 2-10 ended up reimbursing me half of what it cost me to get it repaired, and it’s repaired. There was a young woman named Jennifer who was assigned to be our advocate to get this settled in the end. I told her, "I'm surprised that in the home warranty policy, there isn't something there for extreme weather condition." Because whether it's 117 in Phoenix or minus 45 in Burlington, Vermont, people can't wait eight to nine days. It seems weird to me that there wasn't some way to resolve things a little more quickly.

Putting in a service request with 2-10 Home Buyers is convenient, efficient and informative. I recently filed a request for a hot water heater. It began to leak and rust out through the crack so it was on the verge of bursting. The plumber who came was very good, professional and friendly. They walked me through their end of things, how they worked with 2-10 and what they're used to. It really illustrated how things were gonna happen for me. They also asked some questions so we felt like they were interested in doing the best job possible. They didn't seem rushed or impatient. In the end, they had to replace the water heater. They also warned us that the water may be hotter than normal and they showed us how to adjust it if it is too hot. So, I'm thankful that they prepared us for that possibility, instead of us just discovering it the hard way. I am very satisfied with my experience.

We have had 2-10 for a year and a half. The sellers of the house paid for it for a year, and then we renewed it for the second year. We've had such great experiences with them. I submit my claims online because it takes forever on the phone. It seems to be a complicated process since when you call, you have to go through all the options to get to the right department. So it is easier for me to do a service request online.

I have had amazing experiences with every contractor that has come to the house except for one, and I've made 2-10 aware of it. An AC unit was out, and it took the company four months to correct it in the summer and several fixes. They put Freon in it four times but they could not diagnose the problem. That was four months in Nashville heat with no AC upstairs where our kids are. So, I was very, very, very unhappy. It was rough.

If 2-10 did not have a contractor who worked on the big brands, they would call me within four hours of submitting the claim, saying that they didn't have a contractor and that I could get my own and they would reimburse me. I love that response time. Instead of waiting two days to tell me they don't have a contractor, they let me know right away. So I appreciate that. 2-10's coverage has been excellent so far. If it was more expensive to fix, they replace it. So they replaced three things for us and they cut a check right away and it's been an easy process.

We were there after closing for 4 days and ran well as expected. Then the AC quit. Called 2-10 and started process.

First HVA repair Co. took full two days and never called. Second HVAC repair Co. did call and diagnosed Blower motor failed. 2-10 denied service. Said it was pre-existing. They sent a 3rd HVAC Co. and they said the same thing and they still denied service...said it was preexisting. Went up the Supervisory chain with no luck. This company is a SCAM. They take the sellers' money and never see them again, they deny the buyer service and never cover their obligation. They take the money and run!! I would never use or recommend 2-10 to anyone anywhere. I would have rated them 0 but that rating was not available.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty's reps were fine, short and sweet and to the point. The first contractor came out very quickly. They came the next day for the evaluation. They diagnosed it as something that their company does not replace. It was a bigger job for the refrigerator so they recommended getting a new refrigerator. 2-10 then decided to get a second opinion from a different company. That company was capable of replacing the part and do internal work on the refrigerator so they repaired the refrigerator. But between the time when they first came out and diagnosed the issue to the time the part was finally ordered, that part took a long time. Then, there might have been an issue with the shipping of the part.

We had to throw away pretty much the whole refrigerator full of food. Then, we ended up going out of pocket and buying another refrigerator for the meantime. And then that ended up being our garage refrigerator. But the representative that came to the house to fix the part was amazing and very polite. He did great work and was very respectful. And everything is going totally fine with the refrigerator. However, by the end, it took over a month to finally fix it. I was less than satisfied with how long I had to wait and not have a refrigerator.

Whenever I submit a claim to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, I usually do it over the phone because sometimes, I have questions and I wanna ask a real person. The wait is usually long though. I usually have to be on the phone for a while and some reps have been nice, but others have not been nice at all. Also, most of the people that 2-10 send out don't have a clue of what they're doing. In fact, three days ago, I was on the phone with them about that. They sent another person to come and look at my bath where water wasn't going. And the guy just came to a conclusion like, "I need to replace the pipes.” No way. I was upset and requested a specific company that 2-10 usually would send. When that company came out, they said, "Who told you that?" And they just snaked the pipe and it all went. If I listened to the other people they sent to me, I would probably be changing all my pipes. And this is not the first time this has happened.

They sent a contractor for my AC and they told me that I have the wrong AC, only for another person to come out to say the AC outside doesn't match with the one inside. That issue has not been resolved still. Within four months, 2-10 has sent over 10 contractors back and forth to my house because consistently, once something is done, it's not done properly and somebody has to come out back. But C&P Plumbers stands out. They seem to always know what they are doing. So when it comes to plumbing, I now just request them. 2-10 would tell me to wait and I’d wait because I don't want anybody else. I was disappointed with 2-10 on the work but I would recommend C&P any day. The guys have been so professional. When they come in, they are very calm, and they always try and go above and beyond.

That was a bit surprising considering the fact that I live in a capital city, in a really large area. We had to seek our own and it'd be out of pocket for us until we got reimbursed, which took a few weeks. It's in their system already that they know we don't have a plumber in this area, yet, each time, we have to go through calling them and they have up to 48 hours to get back to us to let us know again that there's no plumber in our area and that we can go ahead and go out of network. We also have to wait until they send an email confirmation if we want reimbursement. At the end of this year, I will not be renewing with 2-10.

When I first bought my house, I was given two years of 2-10 free. I've had it for six years now. I call them when I have a claim and their reps are courteous. Everything went smoothly when I made my claim except when I got my dishwasher. I was upset because I had a Maytag and it was a top of the line. I had all the paperwork saying how much it was. What 2-10 did was I had to pick out of what they had or they were gonna give me $400 towards a new dishwasher. They said there wasn't any stainless steel and they were gonna send me a black one. I called back and they did have a stainless steel one, so I got that but it wasn't a Maytag. It's a lot cheaper than mine was.

The dishwasher was sent to me and the technicians who came didn't install it correctly. The two guys didn't even really act like they knew what they were doing. And they had a plain pickup truck. They took my dishwasher away, which I thought I had to do. But I told them, they couldn't have it as was mine. But I thought 2-10 paid somebody to do it because the dishwasher was sent to me. When I open the door of the dishwasher and I pull a shelf off, the whole thing tips. It just falls completely. They said I measured wrong but I measured exactly how they told me to. I told them that my floor was higher than that and they said it didn't matter. Also, the insulation almost looks like cotton. Other than that, most of the contractors I've had, except for the dishwasher, were really nice. I tried to tell my daughter to get 2-10. I would recommend it to people because there are other ones that I read about that are really terrible.

We do it mostly online and then someone contacts us so we’ve been pleased. Our last issue was with plumbing. The plumber was really good. He was a squared-away guy working hard. He said someone left the garden hose attached when winter came and it froze. It broke the line so it was leaking inside the house in the downstairs bedroom. When you have a leak in the wall, normally, guys will cut through the drywall and you gotta patch and paint it. But he found another access could do it from. He’s a sharp guy, so we’re pleased with him. He also found that the pressure inside the house was too high and took care of that too. I, being knucklehead, thought that high-pressure was good. He said that I want a limit on the pressure or I'll burst my pipes.

When I submitted the claim, I did it online. They sent someone out and the person who came said that my air conditioner needed to be replaced but he wanted to do it for a certain amount of money off the book. So, I didn’t do that and I called the company about it.

I also had an attic vent fan that died so, they sent a man out to do that and he also did air conditioning. He took over that part of it and he said it would need replacement as well. It was a Rheem, which was a very high-quality air conditioner and when 2-10 brought out the unit that was gonna replace it, it was a budget air conditioner. I was upset about that and I didn’t think that was right. I talked to several agents and they said that it says in the contract that 2-10 doesn’t match brands. If they were going to replace a Rheem, it should be at least of that quality or comparable, if not the same company. I asked the agent I spoke with what would happen if I wanted an upgrade and if I could pay the difference if I could upgrade. He said no. I would have to just do it with the air conditioning company and then get a refund from 2-10. So, I did that instead and it has worked out well.

My washer would start making a noise on the spin cycle, and it got louder and louder. I submitted the claim on a Friday and the tech was out by Monday. It was real quick. Our microwave went out on July 28th. The service was request was placed and the contractor came to inspect and sent the diagnosis to 2-10. 2-10 called back on the 7/31 and stated they were sending the diagnosis to team and I should hear back in 5 business days as to what they would do in regards to my microwave. It's 8/14 and still no microwave repair nor update has been given to me. I just currently renewed and am in the process of cancelling my service agreement. I've haven't had great experience with them since becoming a homeowner. I'm in the state of Georgia and majority of people they are contracted with for repairs are never local. Over an hour away. My co workers and I discovered we have the same home warranty and the same issues with 2-10. I don't know if this is state related but the service is sub par. The reason for the 1 star.

I've only owned my first home since April 2019 and have had to use the 2-10 Warranty for only one appliance and it has been a complete nightmare and ongoing issue for over a month. Four weeks ago I had a contractor come out for the second time due to a broken washer. The last time he came out was simply to verify that it was in fact broken and could not be fixed. 2-10 initially stated that it would take 3-5 business days to hear back after the contractor came out the second time. I waited the 5 business days before I took upon myself to give them a call.

The rep I spoke with stated that it's supposed to take that time frame to hear back but sometimes takes longer and that she did not have any updated info at that point and to give it a few more days, okay fine. I waited two more business days and still did not hear anything, so I gave them a call again. They stated that the findings were that my washer was not able to be fixed and that it needed to be replaced and that I should be expecting an email with my options. After a few more business days of not receiving the email, I called again and they finally sent it.

On 7/31/19 is when I received the email and also the day I gave them a call to let them know I wanted the replacement and not the check (the two options that were given to me in the email). The rep stated that he would send my response to the purchasing department so they can place my order for the replacement. I called 8/5/19 (1 week later) to check the status and the rep I spoke with this time says that he is going to resubmit the response (which I thought was odd, if it was submitted the first time, why submit it again?) but okay fine. I call back again this past Monday (8/12/19) just to find out that my initial response was never sent to the purchasing department, that the first time it was sent was on 8/5 when the rep "resubmitted" it. She also tells me that when it was finally sent on 8/5 that 2-10 sent over the wrong purchase order number and it had to be resent yet again.

The rep I spoke with on 8/12 was the most helpful (Yvette in purchasing). She stated that she was going to get the ball rolling and make sure that GE received the correct purchase order this time. I received two calls from FedEx trying to schedule a delivery for my washer. I was confused, as FedEx does not install washers or partake in the removal of the old one. The rep at FedEx on 8/14/19 (today) stated that she was going to reach out to GE and get back with me. She calls me back and states that the washer was sent to FedEx in error and that they need to send it back and that the customer (myself) needs to call 2-10 again to place an order for a replacement (that was my replacement!!). I call 2-10 yet again just to be on hold a total of 30+ min and to deal with the rudest rep I've spoke with during all of this (Kyra in purchasing). She stated that FedEx can deliver it and they'll have a tech come out for installation and removal.

I stated that if it cannot be done the same date/time as the delivery then I do not wish to take that option, as I work full-time and cannot continue to take off work for 2-10's mistakes. She stated that it would be the same date/time but that I need to call FedEx back, get a date/time for delivery AND then call 2-10 back with the information. I stated that I would not spend any more time on the phones and that it is not my responsibility to do so. So my only other option was to have a completely new order placed that would take an additional 7-10 business days to even receive a phone call from the correct delivery company. At this point, I requested a call back from a supervisor.

Within the last month, I've spent HOURS on the phone between talk time and hold time on an issue that should've had a quick resolution. After my very FIRST experience with 2-10 I'm left to believe that the employees are incompetent, as they do not even know how to process a simple washer replacement request. I'm beyond frustrated that I've had to babysit my order the whole way through, and if it wasn't for that...I would never receive a replacement. I will NOT be renewing my warranty with 2-10 and will let everyone I know be aware of the awful experience I've dealt with the past month. If I could leave zero stars I would.

We had an issue with our AC unit, submitted a claim and could not get a contractor out. A month later, I was told that they exhausted their options and I could use an outside contractor the same as if I was using their contractor. We called to get authorization, said it was high dollar so it would take 24-48 business hours to get back with us, but in the meantime they could not legally say not to get the work done (I am pregnant with a baby at home and our house was averaging 90 degrees inside for a month). The unit was replaced and when I called to find out about submitting the invoice, they said I was misinformed by their employee and that they would only pay a portion of the replacement.

After hours on the phone trying to get to the bottom of this, I was only able to get promised a partial payment. I asked to speak with two supervisors, one in claims and one in purchasing and both refused to speak with me stating that they would just say what the associate told me. I am utterly disgusted by this treatment and cannot believe that a company in this day and age would be so careless with customer service.

The 2-10 warranty is not a warranty and provides no protection for your new home. It is actually an arbitration company which negotiates between the owner and the builder if issues arise. They even state on their site "There is no warranty, insurance or service contracts implied." Also the worst part is that when you sign this you have given up your right to take legal action against the builder so the private arbitrator decides the issue (after the builder has paid them). The builders side of the website says "We have been protecting builders for many years." (What and who are they protecting him from?)

We had 2 attorneys look at this and they both advised us to not sign this and retain your right to legal action. I also called the company and they told me if the builder doesn't agree with a decision against him to repair something it is up to the homeowner to enforce it, another words take him to court. Had you not signed this and paid the $1200.00 you could have done that in the first place. The word warranty is only as far as the name and nothing else. The company is just a bunch of lawyers and arbitrators with no type of financial guarantees that a warranty is normally geared to provide. READ! Before you sign anything! The realtor will not provide you this information. You must research on your own! Go to the 2-10 website or call them if a title company or realtor puts this in front of you as an addendum to a sales contract.

Hi Richard, our Warranty Administration Specialists are a neutral third party who provides dispute resolution services, which include conciliation and mediation, between the homeowner and builder. If a mutual agreement cannot be made, the homeowner has the right to pursue arbitration through a separate company. The arbitration process is quicker and more cost-effective compared to the court system, yet the outcome still provides a legally-binding decision. Warranty Administration was able to resolve 96% of disputes through the conciliation process in 2018-2019 without escalating to arbitration. Protection given to builders is on the 10-year structural insurance on the home backed by New Home Warranty Insurance Company, a Risk Retention Group (NHWIC). The Warranty Booklet clearly indicates the Warranty Administration’s role as a conciliation service and the homeowner’s right to pursue arbitration. Our Warranty Administration Specialists are trained warranty experts, yet are not in a position to provide legal advice and are not licensed arbitrators. We highly recommend having a 2-10 warranty on a home to ensure builders will make repairs on covered construction defects, as well as added protection for 10-years on structural defects covered by NHWIC. We are sorry to hear you do not find value in this warranty program and hope you choose to experience the benefits of the 2-10 Home Warranty.

Our toilet tank wasn’t filling up right and the tank will get stopped up. I went online to submit a claim to 2-10 and it was super easy. The first guy that came out didn’t do anything though. He left my toilet and he left my bathroom in a mess. But the second contractor, they fixed it. He went in, got it done, left and cleaned up the bathroom. So, I was happy about it. But 2-10 should probably vet their plumbers a little bit better, simply because the first guy got there in a hurry and he didn’t do a great job. The second people called when I set up a follow-up, and they couldn’t come for a week and a half.

I call when I submit a claim to 2-10 and I've never had an issue with the representatives. However, the contractors are subpar at best. I have a plumbing issue now that has taken a month and a half to address. One of my first initial plumbing issues took a year for the tech to come back out. The first issue I had, they came out and said they couldn’t find the leak. I could clearly see there was a water stain on my ceiling. So, I stopped using that bathroom altogether. That’s not the best way to handle a situation.

A year later, I was having a leak in my second bathroom. When they came back out, they fixed the first leak that nobody could find the first time, and then did not fix the second leak. Also, I came to find out that the contractor overcharged me. They ended up reimbursing me after 2-10 got involved and handled the situation. The second time around, I only had to pay my deductible, so there hasn’t been an issue of overcharging. Overall, dealing with the 2-10 customer service representatives has been excellent, while dealing with their contractors has been rather difficult.

I had to call in to 2-10 for our usage although online is the preferred method. We were moving at the time so I didn’t have my laptop and online stuff set up. It was a bit of a pain to get to the right areas with the automated system. It is set up to voice commands but it doesn’t understand me. But that aside, calling in has been really easy and effective. My experience with my refrigerator claim was really good. The refrigerator had stopped working all of a sudden. The control panel and the icemaker went out as well. Then we realized that the fridge had actually stopped cooling as well.

The contractor came out and immediately identified what was wrong. He also identified why it had happened and we understood why it blew out, for preventive in the future. He told us the repair was gonna be expensive so we thought we were gonna get bought out. But instead, he ordered the parts and got it fixed. It would’ve been nice to have gotten the offer to do one or the other because ordering the parts took four days. No matter how expensive it was going to be to pay him and do all that, it would’ve been nice to be given that option. But since the repair, the refrigerator has been performing very consistently.

I also had a few problems with scheduling the contractors and some were surprised by the coverage. I also had one problem where one of the contractors was bypassing the rules of the warranty. They were trying to bill me before setting up an appointment whereas according to the agreement, I would have to pay the deductible when they arrive. I’m responsible for the deductible when they arrive and I was perfectly fine with that. But I wasn’t willing to give them the money upfront. But overall, the experience has been really good. All of the contractors have been really good and very helpful. In fact, we’re in the process of selling our current house and we're gonna recommend 2-10 to the people buying our house.

It took the plumber a week to get to us and they asked why we went so late. I told them that this was what 2-10 said that they had available. Then, it was another whole week before we got everything done and resolved. I was calling both places in order to get both of them to communicate with each other to be on the same page and to get the claim processed. After that was when it took two days to get the hot water heater and to install it.

I was without hot water for two weeks and three days. We might have gone another whole week if I have not called and followed up. 2-10 would say that they have the plumber on the line and they were just on hold. No one followed back with us to say that 2-10 couldn’t get in contact with the plumber. Other than that, the work and everything was fine. I just really had to keep calling to get things done. The contractor was very nice and since they came out, everything is working.

I had a plumber come to the house under the 2-10 warranty. He did some repairs and this is the third time he’s coming back to do the shower. The other times he ordered parts and did some other work that he forgot that he was supposed to do the shower. The bathtub drain is a part of the work order and he didn't do the drain. He said he's rebuilding a shower valve. He also said that he rebuilt the whole faucet system and asked me not to use the valve for three days because the caulking around the outside housing and he used a cheaper grade adhesive.

After he left, I went in the bathroom ‘cause I was curious to see if the valve worked but it didn't so I called him back and asked him. He's already telling me that if he can’t fix the valve from the outside, he has to open up the wall and go in, and it's gonna cost me $800. He told me that when I first showed him the valve before he took the part and that’s where I think this is going to get it fixed. But we’ll see how the experience goes when he comes again.

I’m a first time homeowner and this is my first experience. For me not knowing, 2-10 has educated me and took care of me way past what I thought. I even put a hot water tank in and I didn't know it was covered. 2-10 advised me that I should call them before I do anything to see if the thing would be covered, then I'm covered. If not then they can try to help me out. They are great and I have no problems.

I had to wait another week for somebody to come out to work on the inside of the refrigerator. He's from Sears and he was very good. He said it was a catastrophic failure and it was a four-year old refrigerator. I got the check yesterday, and it took like weeks. Luckily, I had a refrigerator in my garage. Now, if I hadn’t, I would’ve immediately never signed up again. The refrigerator cost me about 1,800, and they gave me $900. That wasn’t very cool either. To submit an initial claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is fairly straightforward. But if you're trying to look up an open claim, it can be tricky. I have to look for it. But the contractors have been fairly knowledgeable and prompt. When we had some water in our basement, and we had an exterminator out, the tech thought that the water in the basement was caused by the sump pump not working correctly. And so, we called 2-10, and it had been replaced a year before as part of our inspection to purchase the house. We thought maybe just they didn't do the right size or who knows what. And they sent out an HVAC guy and he took one, looked at it and said, "This isn't an HVAC issue, this is a plumbing issue. It's not geothermal." Then we had to send in a second $100 service fee to get a plumber out, and they replaced the pump with a different style that would fit better in the space that we had.

I've generally had a good experience and I'm glad the warranty came with the purchase of the house. There were a few communication issues, specifically with our stove install, where we were not told that there was gonna be a new contractor involved in addition to a delivery company. So, we had one contractor out who confirmed the diagnosis, if there was a chip, and told us that the part was out of production and we needed the stove to be replaced. And then, we got the order approved through purchasing and we were given the window by the delivery company, and that was our only contact.

We were told a window to expect delivery. Two hours after the delivery window at 8:30PM when I've not used the stove all day long expecting delivery and installation, the delivery company showed up and said they don't do installs. "So like, you're telling me I didn't feed my three children, ages five, three, and four months old all day using the stove." We don't have a microwave -- "And you're not gonna install this thing. What?"

We got ahold of 2-10 the next day and there was supposed to be another company that we didn't know anything about who was supposed to come and do the installation. That company never answered their phone. So, three days later, my husband found a handyman who would come and install the stove for us on Saturday after the stove was delivered Wednesday night, and 2-10 approved him as an out of network contractor, and we've submitted that claim. Based on that most recent experience and with the sump pump, we had to pay two service fees, that's why I can't give 2-10 a referral.

We've had 2-10 for almost two years and our recent claim experience with them went really well. The motor of the exhaust fan had gone out of it and we called it in. 2-10 had someone come out and the contractor cleaned it and put it back. Then it was happening again so we had them come back out. The second person replaced the whole thing. He had the parts ready on hand and he was good. It was relatively easy to make the claim and to schedule the appointment and everybody that we dealt with was very nice.

I asked if I could get someone on my own and they informed that would be ok. Updated on 09/02/2019: You have taken the joy out of my home purchase. Follow up didn't go as I had hoped. I'm starting to wonder now if this is the process for 2-10 versus the issue I had with the original contractor. They sent another company out, Ambient, and they also did not follow up as promised. The guy mentioned to my wife that there is a leak, however no one wants to do this job with replacing the unit because there is no money in it. But he said he would send it up. Guess what? Nothing. I even called 2-10 and asked to be transferred to the escalations department, and again, nothing!!

At this point I would rather be reimbursed for my warranty and go our separate ways, at least I can find a more adequate solution to my issue. This nickel and diming me out of $75 for every new trip just to make me eventually just go away is ridiculous. They have no integrity, and their contractors do not as well. And they allow their contractors to pick and choose what work they want to do. I'm done. Next steps will be BBB (which I need to check if they have real accreditation), then appropriate litigation. Every visit has been documented.

Original Review: We just purchased a home and so far, the contractor Epic Heating and Air has ruined what should have been happy times for my family. Not only did they not fix anything, my home is currently 85 degrees with small children. The response they gave me was "find someone else" because they didn't like the fact that my wife told them this was unacceptable. I just put in another claim (of course another $75) and I am hoping this warranty company does the right thing and sends a "qualified" Heating and air company. If you are in North Atlanta area, stay away from Epic H & A, we'll see if 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty does their part. Remember, 85 degrees in the home currently

I like the claims process with 2-10 but I don’t particularly like some of the companies that they use. I call in and ask them what their rating is and some are better. We’ve had some issues with some stuff at our house and some of the contractors have been great. However, there are some of them that I wouldn’t pay 5 cents for and I don’t have time to keep going, calling, and coming back. It’s not 2-10's fault, but some of the contractors, 2-10 doesn't really need.

I had an issue with my septic tank. What I did was I had an out-of-network guy. I called him out and I wasn’t thinking about my warranty coverage. He came out and gave an estimate. And then, I thought about the 2-10 Warranty. I was wondering if the septic was under that, and it was, some of the components of it, and it just so happened the component that we’re getting repaired was covered under that. So, they approved him as an out-of-network guy. Everything went good on that. The only setback was recently I just called them. They cut a check for 330, and so they detracted $85 more than what was supposed to be deducted. They did a service fee twice is what happened. But they're gonna reimburse me for that 85.

As a new homeowner, I've called in five items to 2-10. The refrigerator claim has been closed and handled, and I am completely happy with the resolution of that item. For one of my claims, parts were ordered, and I’m waiting for those to be put in. The contractor who did the evaluation is sort of incommunicado with everybody, including 2-10, but they're trying to get a hold of him. So, 2-10’s doing what they're supposed to do. They're on top of it. 2-10 has been in communication with me. Another ticket was closed because it was checked out as not being any problem.

For the other two claims, the contractor closed the tickets without communicating what he should've, so I reopened them. But none of that reflects on 2-10’s handling of anything. I’m extremely happy with 2-10. They have been awesome. Their customer service is great. They’re really good about giving me what my options are because there are always options when things are going wrong. Getting a home warranty is worthwhile. I’ll have mostly fixed or new things next year, but I’m definitely gonna re-up for next year because other things could go wrong. It’s gonna cost money, but it will cost less this way. And I’ll have knowledgeable people on the case.

I do my claims with 2-10 over the phone and it doesn't work that well, but it’s kinda typical nowadays. The contractor came right away and was very knowledgeable. He told me how it would possibly work out. He gave me insider information. He said out of all the home warranty companies that he worked for as an independent contractor, we chose the best one. But I didn't choose one because I just heard all the horror stories about them. 2-10 was included with the home purchase, so we're stuck with them. And he said he was gonna put like an emergency stat system on our refrigerator to make sure that we didn't lose all of our food. And of course, that’s over with. So, we lost all of our food, and we still don't have anything yet. The process takes a long time. My refrigerator went out July the 2nd and I still don't have it. It’s not repaired yet.

My microwave went out at the same time, and that’s not done yet, either. 2-10 doesn't cover the microwave installation. I elected to accept the check to go buy one because I just wanted to go buy it expeditiously and not wait on them because of the refrigerator issue. And once I accepted the check, I voided the installation. So now I have to pay someone to install it because it’s over the stove and it’s tough to do it by myself.

I submitted a claim to 2-10 for an external pipe leak and it wasn’t a fun process. They sent some plumber out that didn’t do anything to identify the issue. At first, we flushed a couple of toilets. We had to call back and then, they had to send someone else out. Then, the whole house flooded, so they came back out. 2-10 sent out two different plumbers, and the first one didn't even respond to the request. Finally, I just told 2-10 that they needed to do something. So, they sent me a check for $1000 less $70, which I already paid, and then I hired a plumber of my own that fixed it right. The one company that they were gonna refer to me next were gonna charge me $8,000 but the plumber who did it for me charged me $3,000. I've had other home warranty companies and it seems like the people that 2-10 sends aren't qualified and aren't very good contractors.

That to me was not an emergency as it was over 48 hours. Also, the company that came out didn't do that well. They weren't in uniform and it wasn't easy to identify who they were. When they came out there, one guy had on a tank top and the other one was his son. I think the service was outsourced to somebody that wasn't really in the company. The company had some extra people that they knew could do the job. Other than that, service through 2-10 was great.

It's fairly simple to file a claim online. Then I'll have one of the in-network contractors give me a call. But when I had a problem with the freezer not working, the contractor who was sent out didn't seem like he was super experienced. And since they're in network with 2-10, the warranty company had to approve it before the contractor could start working on the problem. I was dealing with 2-10, trying to speed up the process in getting their approval, when all of a sudden, I found out that the contractor who came out refused to do the job. That was a waste of my time.

2-10 told me that the contractor didn't wanna do the job anymore and I had to find an out-of-network contractor. That process was a little different because through every step, you'd have to get an approval. That was a little bit annoying. It's better to have no insurance. But when the contractor came for the diagnostic, 2-10 was able to approve the work on the phone. That wasn't bad. That was fairly fast because the contractor was also great and he stayed with me. He had told me that he could fix the freezer for me right then if I could get 2-10 on the line. Then I was able to quickly speak with a 2-10 rep to do that and say what needed to be approved, and the 2-10 rep was able to do it the same time the contractor was to work.

I had two claims with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and they were about my water heater and plumbing. However, I had to find my own contractors for both and it took three weeks for everything to be repaired. The water heater should have been replaced at the end of the day but all I got was the runaround with that whole situation. The reps were unprofessional. One contractor said they were gonna take care of it, then they came back and said they weren't, and then they came back and said they were. And then they came back and said, "No, we can't do it." It was a mess.

There was something wrong the water heater and we didn't know because I had a home inspection done at the time and everything was working just fine. The 2-10 reps said that there was sediment in the heater and that it should have been taken care of. But one has to physically take out a part of the water heater to see that and notice it. It's not something one would have noticed during a home inspection because they're not gonna come and dismantle your equipment. So, 2-10 did not end up covering it and I had to pay it on my own pocket. Also, I had a leaking pipe which they fixed, but again, I had to find my own contractor for that because they said they didn't have anybody in the area.

I had home warranties for years, and I knew the marketing rep as well as the features and benefits of the warranty from 2-10. It made a little more economic sense to me than the few of the other ones that are out there. Typically, I called in when submitting claims. The reps were very knowledgeable, very friendly and very quick to dispatch service. The technicians that we had were always very good. They showed up on time and called us when they were on their way. They took care of the problems so, they were all very good.

The motor in the dryer was running but it wasn’t heating. So, the contractor came out, looked at it and indicated several things wrong with it. When they don’t heat, you need to replace it or fix it. The cost to fix it was probably higher than replacing it. So, they gave me a dollar amount and I made my selection, and made my purchase. The check arrived very quickly. I’ve been very satisfied with 2-10 and when people complain about home warranties, I’m quick to tell them that they cover what they said they’re gonna cover. They don’t cover everything, but if you read through what the coverage is and understand it, you’d be fine with it. If you have an older home, it’s a great thing to do. When the dishwasher is installed it will break after a year or two. So, it’s just nice to know that if you have a major appliance that dies on you or needs repair, you’re limited to your co-pay.

2-10 was part of the deal when we bought our house so, we just continued it. I usually go online when submitting a claim and I’m dealing with an issue right now. Our air conditioner has been out since Friday and the earliest that someone could come out would probably be Monday. The company that 2-10 lined up was originally Thursday but they wouldn’t be able to get to me and I asked 2-10 to give me another name. They said that they would have to cancel it and do another one. I said that I could call them and see when would be the earliest but the rep said I couldn’t do that. I said that I would just call randomly until I find somebody. He said he couldn’t do anything until we cancel.

I called around and found somebody that works with them. Now, I’m just waiting for the contractor to call me back to verify a time. He said that he could get to me today some time, but he said to call back after I knew for sure we were set up with 2-10. I called 2-10 back up and they switched it to this new company. It was frustrating that the rep couldn’t give me some names, so I didn’t have to just keep calling people. I don’t understand why he can’t look on his site and see all the area ones. I have the service and the legwork should be up to them on giving up names. I didn’t mind calling but they should give me names and who they work with. That was all I needed but other than that, we’ve used 2-10 in the past for our refrigerator, and they came out. We’ve also used them before for our AC, and they always come through. It’s just the portion of actually getting somebody out here that can be tough.

When the second one came out, they didn't communicate with us quite well. Apparently, the contractor came out the next day after we had submitted the claim. He said he knew exactly what part we needed. He just had to go to his warehouse and get it. He said he’d be back the next day, and he never called or came back the next day. Then the day after, 2-10 called to tell me that apparently, the part was no longer available because the fridge was too old, and that we would have the option to get the buyout price for it. Overall 2-10 has been great.

The plumber had to talk to the warranty people, but I understand that they have to verify things. The amount of coverage that 2-10 provides is crazy small. They only cover slightly more than 1/3 of what the repair actually costs. They should cover around 40%.

Hello Robert, thank you for your feedback on our coverage. We want to assure you that we do not always cover a 1/3 of the repair cost. Depending on your contract, the extent of damage to your unit, and the number of claims you have had to repair your unit, you may have more or less coverage available. Our water heater that was repaired through 2-10 has been outstanding. I did the claim for service online and the process worked fine. In a couple of days, we got a call from the contractor. He was very knowledgeable and very forthright. You could tell he really knew what he was doing because he had to go under the house. It was underneath. And I was impressed with how professional he was, and he came in and explained alternatives and options, what we needed, so, it was the best I’ve had in all these years.

There was a leak in our gas water heater. We found much water in the basement coming from the bottom of the water heater. And so, we submitted a claim with 2-10, and they sent out a plumber. He said the water heater was leaking, they did paperwork to get approval to replace it, and then they ordered one, and then, they sent the plumber out again.

I've been protected with 2-10 since November of 2017. We bought a new house, and the warranty was part of the contract. I submit claims on 2-10's website. It's not very user-friendly. Every time I go, I have to search for how to actually submit a claim. I do it on my phone. And the screen isn't that big, and maybe it doesn't display things in the same way it would on like on a computer. So I don't know if that's part of the issue, but it's not an obvious link right there when you log in, for submitting a claim, which is what I wanna use every time I go there.

Also, you don't get a timeframe immediately on when a contractor will be out. They tell you you can expect to hear from the contractor within the next 24 hours, assuming the next day is a business day. And then, you'll hear from the contractor. Then, it's a matter of getting it scheduled. It can take longer than you like to get something scheduled when you have something urgent going on. The interaction with the contractors varies substantially. We've had several calls altogether, through 2-10 Home Warranty, since we got the house. And some of them had been great, some of them haven't been as good.

Shortly after I moved in, we realized that the appliances that were here were either not tested during inspection or they were moved. We put all our food and stuff in the refrigerator and in the morning, it was all spoiled. So, we made the claim to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and then, I called back four days later because no one had called me to set up an appointment. They didn't have a ticket for me so I waited another 36 hours. Still, no one has called me so, I wanna call my own person and they said it was fine. I found a guy who was available and he came out that same day, did a diagnosis and sent 2-10 the result.

The unit could not be fixed and they wanted a replacement with something that was not counter-depth because the only thing they guarantee is the capacity of storage. I needed a counter-depth fridge but they wouldn’t get me one. So, I just took a check and had to go buy another countertop fridge out of my own pocket and ended up spending about another $400 to get what I had before. Overall, it has not been great with 2-10. They ended up giving me some money, so that’s fine but I’ll never use them again on a client's contract.

To submit a claim, I normally call and it used to be that I'd be on hold forever. It was hard to get someone on the phone right away and there were times that I was on hold for an hour. It was ridiculous. It's much better now though and the whole time decreased. Plus, my interactions with the contractors have been satisfactory. They're very courteous and professional. I've recommended 2-10 a lot.

We've had 2-10 since we moved in which was in 2017. They’ve been great. There was a claims rep that was really, really wonderful. I sent her and her manager a thank you for what she did. I was really stressed out with the electrical people that came and overcharged me, and it was just awful. The rep was so sweet and kind. She calmed me down and recognized that I wasn’t just freaking out about nothing. She really kinda took the time to stop and get personal, letting me know everything was gonna be okay. She took care of our huge issue and I couldn’t thank her enough. The contractors themselves don’t seem to be too great. It’s kinda hit or miss. There are ones that I like a lot, but I don’t always get the same people. The ones that have a good reputation in the neighborhood aren’t part of the contractor’s agreement.

I'm very pleased with 2-10 and would recommend them to anybody. They've sent out people to fix certain plumbing leaks and the leak in the pool area. They’ve done wonderful on that. But there were two occasions that we called and their voice recording was horrible. It was like a broken record on the other end and bad disconnection. There was something funky going on with their lines. Another concern I had was with the garage door opener. The guy who came said it would be covered under the warranty. We ended up paying out-of-pocket because of what was fixed which was a motor issue. But my husband was still dissatisfied with the work that the guy did.

Other than that, everything else has been great. Contractors were quick in the turnaround and getting out to the house, even the locksmith. But we have to address the issue about the garage door opener ourselves. We paid out-of-pocket for the motor. Otherwise, I've been very pleased with the people 2-10 had sent out to get stuff done, how easy the claims process was, and how quick 2-10 responded to us as a client.

Sometimes the online portal at 2-10 was not user-friendly, but other than that, they were responsive when I called and the contractors were fine. We previously had a pipe leak so we opened a claim online and the process was fine. The contractor came out and did what they needed to do, and then several months later, we had another pipe leak. Because we had already submitted a pipe leak, 2-10 wouldn’t let us do it online a second time. Because my pipe was leaking, I needed to call someone and be on hold, so it was aggravating. Nevertheless, 2-10 was efficient, professional and timely because when I needed to get my reimbursement check, they did those pretty quick.

Since it would cost more to fix it than it was worth, 2-10 offered to either replace it or cut me a check. I took the money and my new fridge is being delivered this friday.

Our refrigerator kept going on and off, and freezing and unfreezing, in the food and the freezer compartment. I submitted a claim to 2-10 and the contractor came out after about a week. Then, we waited for parts for at least a month. They're finally gonna come and fix it. We also had a water heater claim that was terrible. It took two years to get someone out there to replace the water heater. They kept saying they didn't have anybody in the area and this was crap because I'm paying every month for them to have someone in the area and get one in the area. I don't live that far from the city. When I called for the refrigerator, the rep asked me if there was anything else and we tried the water heater again. We got lucky this time and got somebody to be able to do it. But when they did come, it cost me an additional $175 on top of the $75, so I wasn't happy about that either.

Our water heater was leaking from the bottom and my wife filed a claim for it. Doing that online was fairly easy. Two days later, a plumber came. He checked the situation and said we had a leak. The water heater needed to be replaced. He let 2-10 know about that and 2-10 had to order the new water heater so that the plumber could replace our existing one.

That process took forever. 2-10 took more than a week to file the purchase order so our plumber just came and replaced it. Once he got the water heater, he replaced it that day. But because it took so long, that had caused some water damage to our house. 2-10 is not a very good company to us right now. In an emergency situation like ours where it was causing water damage, 2-10 needs to go faster.

I only have one complaint. Everything was delayed for two weeks. The plumber didn’t come out right away. It’s the same 2-10 contractor that was sent for the last two services and he was pretty quick on that. But this was a big deal. The first time he came out, he turned the pilot light on. He figured that at that point, he had no justification in asking for a new replacement and so the second time he came, which was almost a week later, he replaced the pilot light. I was very frustrated because I had no hot water and it went on for 14 days. Once the claim was filed and they decided that they will go ahead and get a new one, everything worked out fine. On the 14th day, he came out with a new tank. Everything has been taken care of in good time order but this was stretched out and it was not pleasant.
