2-10 was awesome. It was very easy to submit the claim. The person that they were wanting to fix my issue was not available so they let me book somebody and reimbursed me, and they were on target. They reimbursed me right away and it was a really seamless and easy experience. The contractor was very nice and explained to me how they were so backed up that they couldn’t take it. They were very cordial as well. Everyone has been wonderful. 2-10's customer service is awesome. They were probably some of the best customer service I’ve had. They were right on it. They answered our questions. They were available whenever I needed to speak with them. It was a really positive experience.

Thus far, everything has bee great with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They're always easy to work with and we've had no complaints whatsoever. Normally, we're given an expectation of when we're gonna expect a contractor pretty quickly. We renew with them every year and recommend their service.

If I could give this company zero stars I would do so in a heartbeat. I purchased this warranty two years ago when I purchased my home. The home is 16 years old and the AC unit had never been replaced. Therefore, I wanted to have the warranty should something go wrong. Two weeks ago, my AC unit went out. 2-10 actually covers a very small fraction of what it would cost to repair the leak. Replacing the 16 year old unit was never even an option for me. The customer service is terrible and the service provided by the vendors they use is even worse. (On a separate occasion, I had my sink repaired and the contractor they sent put my faucet on backward and has not come back to fix it).

Long story short, this warranty is a huge waste of money and everything listed on their website is a scam. This warranty does NOT cover expensive unexpected repairs. If you make the mistake of going with this home warranty company be prepared to waste your money, your time and endure a lot of stress and a huge headache in the process. Two weeks in to this nightmare and my AC is still broken.

My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been so horrible that I wouldn't refer them. I’ve been a property manager for 26 years and I’ve never had an experience like this. They don't know what they're doing. As a matter of fact, the work is still not done and I’ve been without a refrigerator for a month. I put in my first claim with them over a month ago and the contractor came out two weeks ago. He said that he was gonna deem the refrigerator inoperable because there are too many things wrong with it. The ice maker is not working and has rust in it. Plus, my freezer that I keep food in smells.

Things are not moving and I'm still waiting. I’m ready to call the health inspector, but I’m trying hard not to because it’s my landlord that I’d be calling on. Everything isn’t always what 2-10 says. They need to have competent employees and find a service company that cares about their customers. They also need to be more effective and have a quick response, especially when it comes to appliances that have to do with food. That should be deemed an emergency.

Some of the compartments inside the refrigerator had broken. I was trying to find the serial number for the refrigerator and I realized it was, for lack of better words, an ice knot on the back. By the time it had leaked down the back of it, it had already evaporated. So it wasn't making any water puddles but it was still an ice knot on the back. The contractor came out and that went well but it was an unrepairable problem so the claim had to go through the process of what offers 2-10 would provide. They gave the options of either taking the monetary payout or for them to bring out a replacement.

I went back and forth on the choices a little bit because the refrigerator that I had was a French door model, which has the freezer at the bottom. To me, that's a major function of a freezer because it allows you to store a lot more frozen goods that are large, like ribs. But their standard policy is that they don't replace French door models, although that wasn't in the paperwork. So I was surprised that that was their stance. We wanted something that had similar features, which is also what the paperwork stated. My argument was that the bottom freezing compartment is a feature but I didn't win that argument. I went through the whole thing with them but they said the replacement only had to match efficiency, capacity and one other thing. They said that the replacement had met those criteria, although I argued that it did not. In the end, we settled on me taking the cash payout and I went and bought a French door model.

We put the house on the market two months ago and got the coverage then, and then had the coverage extended for whoever buys the house. There were certain things that needed to be done and I have been delighted with 2-10. I’ve had electrical claims. I’ve had a built-in vacuum claim that’s still being processed, and I’ve had another claim for a dryer that the filter hasn’t been cleaned in 26 years. But everybody has been delightful. They’ve listened carefully and they’ve sent somebody out. They’ve done what they said they were supposed to do.

There was one person they recommended who didn’t call me in several days. I called him and got no reply so they gave me someone else. It was Johnny-on-the-spot. The service has been very, very good. But with the electrical guy, I’ve tried to call back because as he was leaving, he told me something that needs to be changed and he has not returned my call. But other than that, everything has been great with 2-10.

I've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for two years now and my experience with them has been absolutely horrible. Their claims process was long, I had many minutes to go through over the phone. And when I finally get someone, their automatic thing is to deny the claim. For 2-10, to get the contractor out is easy because they’re getting just anybody, just fly-by-night companies. When our water heater wouldn’t heat the water, their contractor came out and changed some stuff, and then it really didn’t fix the problem. When the plumbing guy came out, I asked him what he did. He said he changed everything. But it didn’t look like he changed everything to me, because he only spent 10 minutes there. Apparently, he changed out an element that I later found to be in the hallway. At any rate, that's when he fixed the problem.

Then they sent out an electrician because he said it’s an electrical problem. The guy came out, looked at it, and he said, “No, nothing’s wrong. It’s definitely a plumbing problem.” So then, they sent out another company and he was the most fly-by-night dude. He tried getting 2-10 to replace the unit and they wouldn’t. They denied the claim. The plumber then came back out again and the cycle just went on and on and on. And this is what I pay all this money for every year. The service took four different contractors, but I got it completed. Furthermore, 2-10 was supposed to refund me $100. It’s been a couple of months now and there has been nothing yet. I just called the other day, last week, and still nothing.

My claim with 2-10 for our electric water heater took too long for the contractor to work on. We were in the home the whole week without water and I hate that. That wasn’t right. When you’re dealing with a hot water, the contractor should have some storage so if something ever happens, they're be prepared to come out. And then if it needs to be repaired, they should do it right then and there. They should have some storage in their warehouse that we shouldn’t even have to wait a whole week and go to town to shower. The contractor came out and said, “Let me call my boss, maybe we can get a cord and connect it,” and we never heard anything else from them. I've been with 2-10 for three years, it was my first claim and I was not happy with the service. It was a disgrace and no way somebody should have to wait that long to get water in a three-digit temperature out here. They should be more organized. With that, I'm going to go with somebody else.

I reported two different plumbing issues to 2-10. The first contractor 2-10 sent arrived at my house and said that they only got one ticket. I wasn't there and the tech asked my mom what the problem was. She told him about her bathroom which was one of the tickets. He went and he repaired the issue there. My mom called me and I told her that there were two tickets. She told me he was in her bathroom fixing the problem there and asked if I wanted her to call me when he gets out. I told her I was on my way home but to call me just in case I don't get there before he gets ready to leave. I got there before time and the tech tells me that he only has one work order. I told him that I've called 2-10 and they're sending the work over to him at the time. He told me he couldn't do anything without a work order. So, he went to his truck and told me that he called his company and that he was told that the work order had been sent over.

He came back in and I took him upstairs to my bathroom where he proceeded to tell me that I just have to take the toilet tank off and fix the issue. I told him that he couldn't tell me that was a normal maintenance thing to do as I have never had to reach my hand into a toilet tank on a regular basis. I told him he has to do it and he took five minutes to do whatever he did. He insinuated that we were pushing down too hard on the lever and told me that if it happens again, I would just need to take the top off since 2-10 is not gonna pay for that job. Instead, 2-10 would just keep sending the contractor out. I told him that I'll keep calling them out because this is not something that a homeowner should be expected to do on a normal basis. If I have to keep doing this then 2-10 and its contractors are doing something wrong.

This was the fourth time we had somebody come out for this toilet. From what I hear from 2-10's contractors, 2-10 feels that if the problem is repairable, the tech should just repair it. At what point will they decide that they've spent enough time going out and fixing the same problem and just replace the thing. 2-10 should have acted differently. Still, 2-10 took care of my problem.

I had some issues with the faucets wherein the fuses were blowing through, so when you turn the shower on, water still came out of the bottom part that's going to the showerhead. I made the claim by phone and the rep I spoke with was very good. The plumber came out, looked at the situation and said it would need repairs. He did excellent work. We'd recommend them.

The contractor came in, took a part and he said he was gonna come back. I tried to call them but they never picked up. 2-10 got some other people to come. In my latest claim, they were taking a while to let me know about the stove. I needed to make a decision but I just talked to somebody today. A lot of times, it’s not 2-10’s fault. My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been horrible. I've had four different service companies supposed to fix my refrigerator but as of today, it hasn't been fixed yet. I submitted the claim around August 6th and the contractor came out four days later. The first contractor did good that time. He did come out there and thought he fixed it, but he didn't. It never did get cold and work, and the freezer never did work at all after he came out to repair it. I resubmitted the claim and that was mid-August at that point. The contractor scheduled a date with my husband that he was gonna come. Labor Day holiday was on the 4th of September. He said he couldn't come on September 2nd and he couldn't come before that because he was busy and he was gonna be out of town. So he scheduled for Tuesday, the 3rd.

I sent him a reminder early morning on the 3rd that we will have somebody there. I reminded him that he was supposed to fix it and confirming he was gonna be there. He sent a text back and said, "I didn't say that. I said I was coming on the 4th." I politely said, "No, I was actually in the vehicle with my husband when you set this up. You said the 3rd." So he just said, "Okay, fine." And he just never came. He didn't come on the 3rd, he didn't come on the 4th, he just didn't come. I called 2-10 at that point and they set somebody else up but he still wasn't able to fix the ref.

2-10 set a third person up. That person they sent the information to work out of Warrenton, Virginia, which was too far for them to come for where we live. And so, I called 2-10 and said, "You know, I can understand this person not being able to come because he's out of area. But I need you to set me up somebody that's able to come." I said, "I've been jumping through hoops at this point, and it's been over a month at this point, and my refrigerator's still not repaired." And so, I said, "I would appreciate it if you would call whoever you're gonna set up and make sure they're in our area, and that they're gonna come on the day." So, they set me up. They said, "Yes, they will be able to come, they're in your area, they are definitely gonna come."

It has been almost a month at this point, so we had to go out and buy another refrigerator. You just can't sleep without a refrigerator in all this time. So I just called and told 2-10, "Well, my refrigerator will be outside on the porch for it to be fixed because at this point, we've had to buy a refrigerator." I spoke to the person that set me up for Sears and also spoke to a supervisor because I didn't like where I was going at any point with the first person I talked to that set it up. And the supervisor said that if it's not in the house, they were not gonna fix it. I was furious but we went ahead and put it back in the house because we wanted the refrigerator fixed.

Sears was supposed to come on Monday the 16th. I took off work which cost me $250 in wages. I was sitting here all day long, my appointment was between 1:00 and 5:00 PM, and I waited for somebody to call. At 4:30, nobody bothered to show up and I didn't get a phone call. I started calling to find out where my repair person was. I was told, "Don't worry. Your appointment is by 5 o'clock. You still have 30 minutes. They will be there." 5:30 I called and said, "Where's he at? It's past 5:00 now." I was told, "Oh, he got tied up in traffic, but he'll be there. He's telling me he's en route. He got tied up in traffic. He'll be there by 7:30." I said, "Okay." 7:30 I called and again, I called Sears at 8 o'clock and they said, "You don't have an appointment for today." I said, "Really? I've sat here all day long, being told three or four times that he's on his way. Now, conveniently, because he didn't come, I don't have an appointment."

I got into work the next day and I got an email from Sears that says, "We've scheduled your appointment to Tuesday, September 24th between 8 o'clock and 5 o'clock." So now, they just wanna give me the time for all day long, which didn't matter if I was gonna miss work. I'd have to miss work all day anyway. So I told them, "I can't be there." But in between the time of me talking to them, they sent me another email that said they've rescheduled my appointment for September 19th between 1:00 and 5:00. And not 10 minutes later, I got another email that I got an appointment on September 24th between 8:00 and 5:00.

I called Sears to tell them that I cannot be there because I've already missed work and I'm not gonna lose my job. It's not worth it. Then they said, "If you want your refrigerator fixed, you'll be there." I said, "So which day do I need to be there then, since you sent me two different dates." I was told, "Well, it looks like the 24th." But it didn't matter. I'm not gonna be there tomorrow. We've already bought another refrigerator anyway, although we have paid 2-10 the money for a warranty. At this point, I'm frustrated and very unhappy with 2-10. If anybody would ask me what 2-10 is like, I'd tell them, "Go. Run, run. Run for your life. Don't spend your money with them."

2-10 needs to respond quickly because my husband is fixing to throw the ref away, which is a waste of money because it's really not that old. My husband is that frustrated, especially since we already bought another one, he's ready to throw it in the trash instead of using it for a backup. All the times I've been on the phone is well worth more than the cost of the refrigerator. We'll never use 2-10 again and we'll let everybody know we'll never use 2-10 and recommend that they don't either.

The 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty's online process was very easy. My claim had snaking involved and it took three days for their contractor to get out there. He seemed very inexperienced. I wouldn't say he was the most professional, but he had an all right attitude. He ended up having to take the toilet off and snake from the toilet upstairs instead of the cleanout in the basement. It was a bit extra work, an all-day affair. He did have to leave in the middle of it to go get some extra things, but by the end of the day, the problem was taken care of and it's doing all right now.

But when he came, it only took him five minutes to get the AC running. The problem was a screw loose on the AC in the attic, and that was why I wasn't getting power to the thermostat.

I went seven days burning up with no AC. It was very hard to stay in the house. I took every fan I could take from work to bring home and try to cool down, but that only blew whatever air was flowing around in there. But the electrician did the job. I was very happy with it. I just hated that I had to wait so many days to get it going. I'm very satisfied with 2-10. Every time I have had a problem, they have sent somebody out and it has been taken care of. I have recommended them to some of my friends at work.

I’ve had trouble with lots of things like my toilet running and a range not getting repaired. I had a faucet that broke and due to frustration with non-repairs, we elected to take the buyout option because 2-10 has proven they have no capacity to repair anything. The customer service rep from 2-10 named Vicky told me they do not replace quality, model, make, manufacturer, or color. The only thing they replace is function. If your dishwasher breaks, they give you another dishwasher. If you’re fortunate enough to get anything, it would be the most inexpensive repair possible and it would not gonna match. They could show up with a white, black, or biscuit-colored dishwasher and that is the appliance you get. Vicky also told me that it would take a long time to be there. She had customers who have been waiting six months to a year for a water heater.

At that moment, I knew that I would never receive a quality-level service from 2-10. They do not make you whole. I still have outstanding parts, things that are broken and things that have not been repaired. A lot of my frustration is from calling their customer service and being told quite clearly that it could take months to get something worked out. And when it does, it’s going to be what they get for you and not what you want or had.

The faucet that I had needed to be replaced. The plumber that 2-10 sent out could not repair it. 2-10 gave me $150 replacement value for a laundry room faucet. The plumber told me my installation fee was $90. When it comes to the money that remained to actually purchase something for you, what is left is $60 for a laundry room sink. It is practically impossible to find something of quality and something that will match or look complimentary in the room within that price point. After taking the buyout option, we bought our own faucet and now, we are paying for our own plumbers to install it.

2-10 should represent the service that they are to the real estate agents, from whom we received this warranty through. The real estate agent was unaware that the replacement was going to be whatever 2-10 decides to give you. They were not aware that it did not make it whole. You have one thing break and they are gonna replace it with a totally different manufacturer. 2-10 is not worth the money. There are other strategies and other things in place that can get a home buyer confident when purchasing a resale outside of these types of warranties.

2-10 warranty was offered when I purchased my house and I had it for over a year. It expired the beginning of this month and I did not renew it due to the issues that I had with them. Although their online claim process was fine, there was a lot of miscommunication and there was the unwillingness to help or answer questions. There were several things that were handled in a timely manner. But every claim I submitted, I had a problem with. The problem was a little bit with the contractors but mostly with 2-10.

When I had a leaking faucet, I submitted a claim and a plumber came out. That was all done within a reasonable amount of time. The plumber took a look at the problem and said he would have to replace the faucet but I would have to replace the sink because it was old. 2-10 said they would not replace the sink but would replace the faucet. I was okay with that and told them that I would buy the sink if they could fix the problem. I went out and I purchased a sink.

The contractor came back and told 2-10 that I would have to replumb the entire house before he could fix the faucet. But there was no reason to replumb my entire house to fix one faucet. That just didn't make sense. I complained and complained until eventually, 2-10 sent another plumber out. The second contractor took a look at the problem and said the same thing that he could fix the faucet. I talked to 2-10 and told them that I already bought a sink and already paid the $200 service fee. I was already over $400 into this and my faucet was still not repaired. I asked what I needed to do.

The rep said they would handle it and to just get the second contractor out there, get him to do the diagnosis, and they would get that faucet fixed. It went past 30 days so I wasn't able to return the sink anymore. 2-10 came back after this. The guy came out and he said it was gonna cost $350 to do the fix. I told him my home warranty should cover that. But 2-10 come back with a surprise and said they would only cover $150. I was already $400 into it and they wanted me to pay another $250 to the contractor to fix a leaking faucet. I'll just take the increased water bill and let the thing leak. It was just a pain in the rear. 2-10 said that they could send me $150 just to close up the claim and that was what they did. But I still have a leaking faucet. I wouldn't recommend 2-10.

The online claim process with 2-10 is very easy, very accessible, self-explanatory, and there is a very quick response whenever we put information in. I think it's very effective. Every now and then, I would like a little more ability to add more information as far as like click and point rather than the typing and stuff. But other than that, I think it's very efficient. I had an exhaust fan claim and the contractor came out after we scheduled an appointment. They were a little bit earlier than the scheduled time, which was awesome, and they were very quick. I was impressed with their professionalism and courtesy.

Originally, I placed the claim when I had an issue with a leak in my ceiling, and my ceiling is really soft. When I submitted that, I also submitted the other issues that we were having that were kinda little because I was gonna have to pay for them to come out anyhow. But the first contractor refused to look at anything but the leak. So, then I had to make a call and I spoke with 2-10. They decided to just open up individual claims and resubmit it through. So it was on the report that I sent to them. And it got sent right back to that same company. I refused them to come back to the house. So 2-10 moved it over to this gentleman. And he was able to go and look at each individual issue. He even said that if I have a problem, I could call him directly and they will make sure it's right. So, he's trying to make sure that he follows up with good customer service if we have questions or problems.

The technicians that were sent to the house were professional and did a very good job. They were timely, and they worked on our schedule and didn’t give us the weird 10-hour window that the other company was giving us. They're supposed to give you a call an hour or 30 minutes before they're gonna get there, and they would call and say, “We'll be there in 10 minutes.” That means they're already at my house. But the tech may not be there. So, it was very frustrating.

I still have holes in my ceilings from where the first company fixed the leak. They said if they cut holes in the ceiling that they’d send somebody out, but they don’t somebody out until two weeks after the repair. Because they said they wanna make sure that it was not leaking and they only repair the ceiling once. If the leak comes back and they have to cut your ceiling again, and they won’t repair the ceiling again. And this is the company that’s under the warranty company. They also said that I have to call them to remind them. But that should be something they would call us back in two weeks and ask if we are ready for our ceiling to get patched. They need to replace a large portion of the ceiling. So, I don’t think it can be patched. It needs a whole new piece of drywall.

2-10 did try to go back and fix all the claims free of charge. We're still working through the issues that we experienced with the first company. They also told me my subfloor needed to be replaced from the toilet leak. But my dad, who works on houses, came over and said that we could spray Clorox on it and let it dry out completely and then we could close it up. If a leak causes issue with the wood underneath, it should all be part of the warranty. The part of the warranty with 2-10 that I did not like was that they fixed the leak, but they didn’t fix anything that happened because of the leak, which are the ceiling and my floor.

When a customer has a leak that caused further structural issues, it should be clearly written out so that we understand how that’s going to be handled. Now, if the leak didn’t cause the issue and it was there prior, they can usually tell that. But if the leak caused the issue, then that should be part of the repair because it's not like the damage was done by the structure. That was a little disappointing. My warranty covers issues, so why is it not covering the floor replacement or the ceiling? The ceiling didn’t have a hole and it was soft, but now, it has two huge holes in a spot where the tech went to cut in and he hit a stud, and it's in the middle of my kitchen. When he did the cut, he wasn’t professional about it and he got drywall all over everything in the kitchen, including food and dishes. They were supposed to cover things before they cut the drywall or even vacuum, and they didn’t do that.

The second contractor has been amazing. He was really great. I had other claims through him. We had an issue with the hot water heater and it got replaced. Our water heater was 25 years old. It's a fairly old unit. So, there wasn’t much he could do. But he responded and communicated clearly. He was able to work with my husband and not having to drag me in with every little question. This guy is much better and 2-10 should use him more often.

We have two claims with 2-10 and they were able to resolve the first claim. They did what they were supposed to do. For the second claim, 2-10 didn't have the technician to go fix our appliances so they told me to look for someone outside their network. Everything is taken care of for that one and we're just waiting for the parts. 2-10 already approved the service for that company, so when they go fix it, I'm just gonna send a receipt to 2-10.

So far, about the claims, 2-10 responded correctly. They took care of what was supposed to be taken care of. But the customer care is not great because it's really a lot of miscommunication. When we bought the property, my husband said he bought the warranty for two years. But when I called 2-10, they said we only had it for one year. It was a really big issue about that. When you call, sometimes an agent will give you one answer, then the other one will give you another. We renewed it after it expired but we went a whole year without knowing we have home warranty.

2-10 has to improve on customer care. They have to be more responsive and more prompt with communication. I don't have to be waiting four weeks to be getting a response. I had to call 2-10 and they alerted the people who take care of all claims. That was how I was able to get in touch with somebody else. They have to be more helpful with the customer because I felt like I was not treated the right way when I was up with the first claim. It was really hard to get in touch with the agent. They didn't even get back to me. The first agent that was taking the claim stopped working with 2-10. I didn't hear from anybody so I called many, many times. Finally, after three weeks, they got me another agent and she told me to send her the same information I sent the other guy. I sent everything to her, but it was really hard to get in touch with her too.

We've had coverage with 2-10 for almost 21 years and when we submit claims, everything is always easy. Normally, the contractors that they have are very efficient. They get back to you right away and there's never been a problem. We've had electricians and plumbers here and everybody knows what they are supposed to do. They are in and out. They take care of the problem and that's it.

Although the warranty is getting a little pricey, I understand that with an older home, they have to charge more because chances are, more things are gonna break down. Sometimes, it just seems a little out of whack with what's going on. But it's okay. I have checked around and I don't think 2-10 is out of sync with any other warranty company that's out there. Then the last time that I renewed, we did a little go-around and we found a couple of ways to save some money. I have recommended 2-10 too.

When I submitted a claim with 2-10, the experience was fine. I got a call from the plumbing company, they scheduled the repair and it was done. The process was very smooth. The plumber was professional and on time. Actually, he was early even. He had the stuff he needed so he didn't have to go back to the shop to get parts which was nice. The worst part of the process was finding out that our coverage really wasn't enforced when it should have been and getting that part of it corrected. But once that was taken care of, the filing of the claim was easy. The only thing that could be improved is that when 2-10 gets back to someone, they could confirm that the client is expected to pay the deductible to the contractor because that was one thing I wasn't clear on. I didn't know who did I need to pay to. If that was in some of the documentation from 2-10, that would be beneficial.

The technician they sent for my exhaust fan was knowledgeable. He looked at it and said he needed to get a part. Then, he came back within the same day and fixed it. The job was well done.

When we bought this house, our Realtor bought us the warranty for the first year and now, we've had it for a little over five years. Generally 2-10 has been helpful on the phone. However, we've had a couple of challenges with claims that we filed. The worst one was a plumbing backup that we had a couple of years ago. 2-10 couldn't get somebody who could do what was needed. I talked with somebody, they told me what to do, which was call somebody else. And then, when we tried to get reimbursed, 2-10 said, "Well, no. You weren't supposed to do that. You were supposed to go through one of our providers." And then, they finally agreed to reimburse us. We had to submit the receipt three times. It took six months to actually get it checked.

I had their name and everything written down and I'm sure the calls are recorded, but nobody bothered to look into that. And then most recently, and I guess this is just the way the thing works, but we just had to have our hot water heater replaced. This house is 20 years old. The plumber mentioned something when he was here, and then they called and said something about $225 in charges, which turned out to actually be $425 in charges, because something with the way the stupid guy built this house and the gas line is in the way of the hot water heater.

But then, there were a whole lot of charges to bring it back up to code, and the policy that I have only covers a certain part of that, which I did not understand. It was not presented to me correctly the first time they called. And then, while the plumber was on the way, he said, "So they told you about the $425?" I said, "No, they told me about the $225." So then, 2-10 called again while the plumber was on the way and I got no choice. I looked at several other companies this last time but just ran out of time and needed to renew. But other than that, I've had a lot of good contractors. A-1 Plumbing has been here a couple of times, the guy they sent to fix the dryer was nice and effective, and the plumber they sent to do the hot water heater was nice and did a good job. He just didn't have things explained very well. They also broke a sprinkler head in the front of our house and they didn't even tell us they broke it. But maybe they didn't realize.

All the contractors they refer us to have been able to come out very quickly minus the air conditioning claim in the summer which is not really their fault. The technician we had for the AC was very punctual, very professional and knowledgeable about the issues that were going on. Overall, I enjoy the customer service from 2-10. But if we decide to use another contractor for whatever reason, it has to get pre-approved and have the contractor call beforehand. It would make it easier if we could just pay out of pocket and then reimburse us without that extra step.

So, I had to call a plumber. 2-10 covered both but it was a fiasco where I had to go back and forth to figure out what exactly needed to be done. I had to do a separate claim, but 2-10 ended up waiving the deductible for me. Once the plumber came, the work he did was fine. He wasn't the most personable person in the world though. He communicated but at one point or another, it almost seemed like a hassle that he did his job. Still, everything has been good since the repairs. I'd recommend 2-10.

I'm a real estate agent and 2-10 has been highly spoken of. I purchased the home and I bought their home warranty, and I’ve been extremely disappointed. After two weeks in the house, the lights started flickering. So, we called and had an electrician come out, and he was a nice guy. He replaced a couple of fuses, and he said he recommended that the electrical panel be replaced, that it’s a fire-hazard. We followed the steps and 2-10 declined it. They wouldn’t even offer to pay a portion of it. They said, “It shows that this has been happening for a while.” So, I said, “What you’re saying is when you buy a home warranty for a pre-owned home, everything is pre-existing and you don’t cover it?” They said, “No, that’s not the case but because this shows oxidation that’s been happening prior to your policy.” I'm still scratching my head, I don’t get it. Now I have a home with an unsafe electrical panel that I can’t afford to replace.

They also wouldn’t cover my HVAC until I had someone come out and certify it. They covered that, but they don’t send someone out to certify electrical panels, so I don’t understand why that was omitted from the coverage. I have a home warranty at my own home, and I usually recommend 2-10. I’m an investor so I buy houses, fix them and sell them. The reason I purchased this policy was so that when I sell the home next month, I could transfer the home warranty, but I won’t do that.

The 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty online process is not the easiest system that I’ve used but it’s manageable. When I had a plumbing issue, I went through several contractors before I got somebody who was capable of performing the job. What I did not understand is because it was a plumbing job and I come by on a backup pipe with two valves on the base that was leaking. That seemed to complicate the issue. But it was plumbing and I shouldn't make two work orders. But anyway, I finally got a good plumbing guy from Oasis. He communicated quite clearly and took care of everything. Things have been good since the last guy came in.

I’ve never used a warranty before and in this case, it was extremely valuable. My claim for the water heater went really good other than it took an extra day because when the contractor came out, he didn't wanna take some stuff apart and he didn't think he could fit the unit in. There's a valve where the gap comes in for the AC, the heater and the furnace, and they couldn't physically fit the unit through without taking that pipe off. It didn't matter what size we get. It wasn’t gonna fit unless you took that off to get access for the pedestal that it sat on. I told him he would have to take the gas line apart no matter what. But he said they were just gonna do a smaller water heater. So he came back the next day and put the thing. A different guy had come and put the water heater that they had, and he put the right one in.

The calling part for the 2-10 warranty was awful though. The problem was that it didn't recognize what I was trying to say. When I would say something, the system wouldn't go to the right place. Eventually, it would ask to push a number but when I got to the part asking if the unit was gas or electric, I said gas and we never got to the part where you push the button. It picked electric for me. The calling needs to either fix the voice recognition part or just make it a push button because it was really difficult. But the representatives were good. I actually called them to get that part about it being gas and not electric fixed and they were very nice.

I bought a house and the previous owner had purchased the 2-10 warranty and transferred it to me. There was like a tech support call to put the warranty in my name, and then a call to file a claim. I also used their website, and everything was normal and functional. I was able to log in and see the data that is relevant for my account. It seemed legit to me.

I had a claim due to the garbage disposal and it went very well. They briefed me for 15 minutes a few days before on how the process worked. Then when my plumber was actually there, he had to call and just describe the project to them. They put me on hold for 10 minutes and they came back and approved it. They cut me a check for the full value, minus $75, and the check was cleared. It was a better experience than I was expecting. I expected it to be sketchy, but it was not. So that was a positive surprise.

I've been with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for a year now and all in all, the experience has been good except this last time, but it was more of the contractor. I called 2-10 for a cooling unit issue. The rep was good but the contractor that was on service ultimately did not fix the problem. He came out 15 to 18 times and never resolved the issue that originally started. We ended up paying somebody out of our own pocket to come out and take a look at it to figure out what was wrong and came to find out it was just not enough return air. So, they put a new hole vent by our air conditioner unit and put in the new vent. Once he put that hole in, it fixed the cooling unit.

Working with 2-10's people was absolutely fine but the appliance people were kind of non-responsive. We called the woman that worked there. She said she’d call us back but she never did so we called again. This happened a couple of times because when the repairman finally came out, he realized he had to order a part. We had to set up another appointment to have him come out and install that part. Then he called and said, “I’ll be at your house in about 15 minutes,” and we weren’t even home. I said, “I’m not home. I won’t be home for another half hour.” He said, “Well, you had an appointment.” I said, “If I did, nobody told me about it,” so he just came and waited at the house until I got home. But the repairman was actually nice. The refrigerator is fixed and we appreciate that part.

We have our home up for sale, and our realtor recommended purchasing a warranty as an incentive to buyers. Our 2-10 coverage became effective in mid-June of this year. So far, I’ve been very satisfied. There's only one aspect that is kind of difficult, and I know in order to stay in business and keep the prices down, 2-10 purchases their own parts. I know that it’s the only way that they can do this, but our central air was out.

We had a showing. I’d especially turned the air up to be a little cooler than we would normally keep it so that the house would seem nice for buyers. When we came home, it was warm in the house. It turned out that the central air unit upstairs had died. It took over a month for the part to come in and they came out like the next day then and put the part in. But it took a month of time out of our being able to show the house at all because you really can’t. When it’s 90-something degrees out and it’s 90-something degrees in your house, it leaves a bad impression. That was one thing that was a little bit of a drawback. Now, we’re waiting for a part for the washing machine that is taking a really long time. But I understand that there's nothing they can really do.

We had our claim on the AC called. I prefer to just talk to a person. I’ve had no problem with 2-10's claim representatives. We do most of our communicating with the actual company that they’ve hired to come out and do work. And so, I’ve had very brief conversations with 2-10. It’s mostly the people at the appliance repair place and the furnace place or the air place. I’m very satisfied with them.

Our AC has been very good so far. They had to replace the main motor thing, so it was a big deal. I’m very thankful. We were living on air mattresses downstairs. It was kinda chaotic for a while, but it was interesting. It was kinda like camping out. I’m happy with the experience except for the long wait to get the parts in. They could purchase these parts ahead of time and have them in stock so that we would not have to wait for the ship to come from overseas.

We only had one issue to where we had to constantly stay on top of 2-10. That was when our oven went out and it took over a month to get our oven replaced because they lost our claim and we had to resubmit it.

Since we signed up with 2-10 again for our current house, it's been a little bit more difficult to deal with submitting claims, getting questions answered and things fixed. We've had a few clarity issues involving them telling us what is covered and what is not. Still, we have appreciated 2-10 all in all. Pelletier, the plumber that 2-10 used, was not very helpful. I would have never even used them if I had the opportunity, and even more so now. I explained 2-10 what the situation was, but they would just tell the contractor that it was a toilet leak. I had to explain that it was a toilet clog and leak. I had to pay them a $100 to come out, and all they did was fix the leak, but they never the clog. I explained to them what was going on, then they said, "Well, we can't do anything. We're gonna have to come back. You have to call in." So, I called in and got another work order done. The same people came out, and this time they only snaked it from the toilet into the line. When they hit a barrier, it wouldn't go any further. At that point, they were telling me that it was a septic problem. They explained that I was going to need the whole septic pump and I was going to possibly need a whole new pump system.

I called the actual installer of the pump, and he came out with not even the industrial-sized snake -- he used the drill bit type snake. He was able to snake from inside the septic tank in towards the house and unclog the drain. So, I really felt like the company totally took advantage of the situation that they only wanted to do whatever the work order said and not do anything extra or even go a little bit further to figure out what the situation was. If it wouldn't have been for the mess up on as far as the communication on what was wrong with my drain, we could have gotten it resolved a lot faster. I lost almost $300 on the whole after everything was over and done with because of the premiums and everything else. I'm very unsatisfied with 2-10.

2-10 is an awful company. I won’t be keeping them. All summer I was without air conditioning. I followed the rules and had a person come out who said I need a new unit because the evaporator coil is cracked. They couldn’t find another one. This was like in June. 2-10 called me and said, “Hey, good news is you need a new unit, we’ll get you a new unit. Bad news is that the contractor that gave the diagnosis won’t be able to do the work.” When I asked what that means, they said they needed a new contractor to do a new diagnosis. They gave me a new contractor who I called, and they said they were booked in three weeks out.

I called 2-10 back and said, “I want an out-of-network approval because I’m not waiting another three weeks.” We’re going on a month now with no AC. An out-of-network guy who confirmed we need a new unit quoted us $6,000 for the replacement and the labor, which I thought was pretty reasonable. I called 2-10. 2-10 said, “Yeah, we got their request. The bad news is, we’re only gonna pay $2,800 of it.” I have the top coverage they allow. I said, “What do you mean you only have 2,800?” They said, “Well, we have another contractor in the area that will come out and do it for $2,800.”

I asked them what my options were, and they said I can take the $2,800 and pay for my contractor or they can send a new guy out in a couple of days, and they can give us a diagnosis. By this time, I have a liaison person I can call direct, and I said, “I want all options to stay on the table,” which they did. They said, “Okay. That’s fine. We’ll send a new contractor out. You can make the decision after that contractor.” That contractor came out and said all I need is a new blower fan and that’s a $150 fix. I said, “Whoa. No one’s even ever mentioned a blower fan. There’s a leak in the evaporator coil. What is going on?”

I called 2-10 back and they said, “Okay. It’s a blower fan, what do you wanna do?” I told them I want my $2,800. I’ll just pay the rest out-of-pocket. They said it’s now $400 as the buyout because all I need is a blower fan. Finally, I just took the 400 bucks and spent the $6,000 and put the unit in myself. 2-10 is a fraud. I would never recommend the company to anyone else.

My biggest thing with 2-10 is that they're sending contractors who don’t do the correct job or who would say he’d do it but the issue is not fixed and I’m gonna have to get someone else out there. I even have a few issues that I’ve been calling for over and over. 2-10 has been sending people out who are not technically qualified and probably not be doing the job. Usually, I have to call 2-10 back because the contractor that was out there didn't do it correctly. 2-10 needs to do a better job on who they select as a contractor. I’ve also had a few guys who went over there, did something and messed it up then we had to finally get someone over there to correct it.

I speak to a representative to file a claim. But information doesn't seem to be passed down correctly at 2-10. There were numerous times that I had to call and talk to a supervisor to get something done. I’ve been with 2-10 since 2008 and I've had good experiences and I've had bad ones. I would say it's a 60/40 split. I had a ceiling fan claim and that was actually pretty smooth. There's a new ceiling fan in there now. There’s also this guy named Trevor and that dude was on point. He was a senior consultant. He called me and got the job done. That guy is the greatest gentleman here and now. Give that guy a raise.

When I bought my condo, 2-10 was part of the transaction as I was given a two-year homeowners warranty through them. I like the idea of having a warranty because the condo that it covers has older appliances. Submitting a claim is easy. Getting it executed is a horrible experience. They assign it out to different local contractors, who come initially because there's the payment of $75. They always show up for the first appointments and to see what the problem is, get the payment and diagnose it. To get them to order the parts and come back is a nightmare. It’s repeated calls and emails.

I had an electric water heater go out in the beginning of August and it was terrible. I got to a point where I told 2-10, “Just give me the cash. I’ll take care of it myself.” They have this process where I call them and they're like, “If we switch contractors, we have to start all over again. We have this process where we’re gonna reach out to our contract engagement team, and they're gonna reach out to contractors.” They have all these internal processes and I followed all of them. But at the same time, the fact remained that there was no hot water for two weeks. There was a newborn in the condo. It's an administrative mess you get into, but at the end of the day, the problem’s not resolved.

And it’s not just on the water heater. I’ve had this on other calls with 2-10 as well. A lot of times, the contractors don’t even respond. I’ll call them or text them, leave messages and I get nothing back. What goes well is that once it is done, it’s taken care of and I don’t have to worry about it. But I also have a warranty through Sears, and working with them is so much easier. They tell you someone will be out on this day between this and that time, and it happens and it’s much more smoother.

I would basically categorize my overall experience with 2-10 as horrible, atrocious, despicable, terrible, rotten to get anything processed through them from a customer service perspective. I can’t use words any clearer than that. Every time you need to process something or get people on the phone to get anything done, it’s horrific. And for them to follow through and do what they say, everything just gets lost in the shuffle.

Eventually, if you push, threaten, escalate, and spend hours on the phone, you get resolved and you get the money. But my comment to people has always been it always seems that there is a systematic process in place to make things difficult, to limit the amount of claims that need to get processed. So, when you need them, they have every roadblock you can think of to make it difficult for a customer, instead of just paying what they owe. It was almost to the point where I threatened to just raise a complaint with the department of insurance. As an example, I had a claim on July 2nd for my air conditioner. I have a 14-month-old and a 5-year-old, and the air conditioner still hasn’t gotten fixed. After talking with them multiple times, I finally got it escalated to the point where I have direct contact with a supervisor. They replaced the one contractor who was doing it. 2-10 ordered the wrong part multiple times, just a nightmare.

They don't always have the right contractors in the area to come out and work on things. And then, if it’s outside the contractor network to get clarity on what's covered, they’ll say, “Well, you can go to any contractor, but we’re gonna just pay a whole bunch less, but we don't have somebody in network.” It’s just all-around garbage. Did I ever get the money back? Yeah, sure, but it took too long. I wouldn’t even give them a star if I had an option.

When we woke up, we didn’t have any hot water. We called 2-10 and the first people they referred us to to come look at it couldn’t come out ’til Friday, so I called 2-10 back. They cancelled the appointment and set me up with a new company that came out that night. The first girl that came out and looked at our water heater went over everything and explained everything. She said we needed a new one and then the next guy came and replaced it the next day. He showed up right when they said and completed the job within the time frame they gave. It went well.

A month later and I called and was prompted to give me okay for credit card on hand to pay the deductible. The prompt then said my claim would not be processed and I was on hold for 20 minutes to speak with a representative. I hung up and called an ac company directly to get a timely repair done for my tenants. Soon after 2-10 emails me and says they will get back with me in 24 hours to schedule repair. I could not cancel the request online nor could I contact them as they have drop down preset for contacting them and canceling a request in not one of the options. On hold now for 22 minutes as there is no prompt to cancel a request either. Frustrated.

This last process, we had three contractors out here. They didn’t wanna do the work and the third one finally scoped the line and that was when we found all the issues and everything. 2-10 did everything correctly on their end. It was more the contractors that we had issues with.

My claim regarding my electric water heater did not go well at all. I heard good things about 2-10 and I really expected much better from the service. Ultimately, the water heater that broke was replaced but I was without hot water for almost two weeks and I was without water all for two days. The person that 2-10 sent out replaced the water heater. It broke two days later and he stopped returning my texts and calls so I asked for someone else to be sent out. That took a couple of days to get together. Considering I had no hot water, I thought that was a little unreasonable. Then I was told after that that they didn't have another contractor in my area so I had to go and find someone myself. Now, if I was gonna do that, why do I need their service?

I did find somebody who was very reputable. They came out and it ended up being a lot more complicated than I realized it was going to be, but they fixed everything. I had to make a deal with them that I would not involve them in working with 2-10. I would pay them then I would get reimbursement from 2-10 because they don't wanna work with home warranty companies. They don't get paid and they're not happy about that. I am now trying to get reimbursed by 2-10. I have no reason to believe that I won’t be but I’m not happy. It was my first claim and it was really a big hassle. I’m shocked at how it turned out.

If I could have something improve about this claim, it would be all of it. I would have had them get back to me right away. The first time I called in, I didn't know the process ‘cause I have never worked with a warranty company. I talked to the person and gave them my information. The next day, I called because I wanted to make sure I was getting attention. The second person I talked to said they had no record of anything so I had to start at square one again. Another whole day was wasted. From start to finish, it was a debacle. Nobody got back to me in a timely manner and it took way longer than I expected. I had no hot water. That maybe isn’t life or death, but it’s not convenient. Also, the part about only having one person in my area that could handle plumbing which is not some super-specialized thing is ridiculous.

When we bought our home, we were given the option by the sellers to purchase a home warranty and 2-10 was the preferred service for Coldwell Banker here in Terre Haute. But our experience with 2-10 has been so poor and so bad that we decided to sell the house and start fresh. The first issue was that we had a hot water heater go out. We had hot water going either really scalding or just no hot water for more than about five minutes. So we called 2-10. We had our first report and they told us there were no contractors within the network in their area. So they gave us the option where 2-10 would pay the entire amount, with no $100 service fee, but I had to go out and do all of the work as far as finding my own contractor and paying out-of-pocket for the entire amount then I would reimbursed the entire amount for having the hot water heater installed and for the hot water heater itself.

It was not a big deal. I called up, found a contractor, had the hot water heater installed, paid for it and submitted my invoice to 2-10 to be reimbursed but then I got a call from someone on the higher end in 2-10 who said they were gonna go ahead and get my reimbursement issued to me but they were going ahead and taking the $100 charge off the top. So instead of issuing me a reimbursement for $890 in cash, they were only going to reimburse me for $790. So I talked with her and said this is not what we were told. She apologized that that was not what we were told. She said they would do some training on their end but that that was actually their policy. But after some discussing on how that wasn’t a proper way to do business, she eventually relented. She allowed us to have our full reimbursement. But it took a good 45 minutes of talking and that really left a bad taste in our mouth as far as our first report.

Then our second and third have been even more distasteful. Our air conditioning went out this summer while my wife was eight months pregnant and she had to spend her last month of pregnancy in 79-degree heat in the house. It was not pleasant for us. I was pretty po'ed, as a husband, having to watch that. That was incredibly frustrating on my end.

We had originally called to see about getting a contractor out. We paid our initial $100 fee and the contractor assessed the damage and sent back a report to 2-10. 2-10 called us to let us know that they would, in fact, be able to cover part of the coverage for the air conditioner to be fixed. They were gonna cover about $280 and we would be responsible for almost $800 on top of the $100 service fee. But if that didn’t fix the problem, it would be cost even more, on top of that. So we told them that we weren’t going to do that because we didn’t wanna drop $800 for an older unit anyway just to maybe be fixed.

They called us back the following Monday. Michael told us he needed approval to order a part to fix our air conditioner. After telling him that we were told we had to pay $800 to get it fixed and we weren’t willing to do that right away, he informed us that if we authorize them to order this part, they will actually pay for everything. They found a way, in parts research, to be able to make it cheaper for us so they were gonna cover everything. So I gave him the authorization. I told him that if that were the truth, that they were gonna cover all of it through the home warranty, that would be fine. We expected majority of the cost would be covered by the warranty company anyway. He said, “Yes, that’s how it works.”

The contractor came out two Fridays later because the part had to be ordered. He got the part installed and got the new compressor set up then the contractor informed me that I had a 780-dollar charge that I needed to pay. But Michael had already discussed with us that we wouldn't need to pay that. The contractor said it was no big deal and that they would call 2-10 and let them know. But 15 minutes later, the contractor showed back up at my house and said he couldn't leave my house until either I pay or 2-10 agrees to pay because 2-10 said they were not paying.

I sat with the contractor in my dining room for an hour and a half on the phone, about an hour of which was spent on hold and with several agents telling us that we were, in fact, responsible. We made it up to the parts research department and the customer service department, and a gentleman said they were gonna have to go back and listen to the phone call but they wouldn't be able to get to it that day. I told him I was not paying and that we had to get it settled because it was a Friday afternoon and I had the contractor in my house. The gentleman said he would ask his boss.

They went back to listen to the recorded line and said they actually did say that, that they were very sorry and that they were going to get that corrected. So thankfully, the air conditioning was covered but it was a very frustrating situation again because it had taken a full day instead of a half day of me taking off work to be there for the appointment. I also got a contractor who thinks that’s I'm the crazy person for not paying this amount that I'm supposed to know about its being paid. Then I got four agents up the line saying I need to pay this amount and that they didn't say they would pay it. So that was pretty frustrating for us.

Then as our last straw, we had the same AC contractor come out a few times to check in on this air conditioning problem because it still wasn’t quite fixed. The contractor was more than fair with us though. He said they were supposed to charge us the $100 fee every time they come out from 2-10 but since they were not sure what was going on, they were not gonna charge us $100 to come out every time and test something. So Medcalf Mechanical is really outstanding. 2-10 has a real gem there. They're really wonderful at what they do. It's a great partnership as far as taking care of issues that have been caused along the way but they ended up finding out that our furnace had two cracked rivets and would potentially be replaced. When I had them call up 2-10, 2-10 gave us a $1,173 charge that we were going to have to provide and 2-10 would cover the rest, which is just the furnace itself.

So I called. I said it was a lot for us to be able to replace an old furnace. Instead, they gave us a 380-dollar buyout for the entire furnace. I said there was no way they could buy a furnace for $380 but the agent said that actually, they bought them for $330. When I got to that point, I thought about the safety and the health of my family. If that’s the cost that 2-10 is paying for a furnace, that’s gotta be used and refurbished, and I would really not like that in a home that my family is living in. So we are going to, unfortunately, have to get the cost to have that replaced. I would not give this warranty to my worst enemy.

I did the cash option to buy out because the option 2-10 gave me was terrible compared to what was being replaced. I paid for my own replacement and they've given me nothing in return. I put the issue in September 12th and the replacement parts took about a month to order. That went ridiculously slow and after the replacement parts didn't work, they put it in for a full replacement and gave me an option for something about 1/4 the value of my actual refrigerator. So, I’m not exactly enthused with the way it has gone so far. I would have gone with a different warranty company. Now, I just need my money so I can actually not have a credit card bill or at least part of one.

I also had an issue with my air conditioner, which turned out to be an electrical issue. I think my driver or the people who did my lawn got a little bit naughty and cut some wires, but the contractor that 2-10 sent took care of it. He was in traffic but he got everything fixed. Sometimes when you go in network, not everything is covered. We had to pay out-of-pocket for that last faucet 'cause something was broken and the guy needed to replace it. There was a limit on it which annoyed me.

When we go out of network 'cause sometimes the contractors are not within my area, we have to call for a prior authorization from 2-10 before they start work and we're sometimes on hold for a long time. It's frustrating 'cause when they're in your home and ready to do the job, they can't do anything until there is 2-10's approval. When the kitchen sink clogged up, I wanted to unclog it as soon as possible. So, we set up a day and a time that worked for both myself and the contractor and then when they came in, we had to call 2-10 to ask for a prior authorization to go ahead and do the work and how much it would cost and how much they would pay.

The initial representative I dealt with for my claim was really good but when I got put on hold for someone that I could work with more, I was on hold for over an hour. That was pretty awful because I didn’t even know if I should go back or hang up. So that was hard. Then once I talked to someone, they basically said I would have to call back the next day. But the guy that I talked to first said that that person would have been able to resolve all my stuff. So I wasted an hour and a half of my life for no reason. But other than that, it was fine. It was just a very long process.

For this claim, I have had two contractors come out. When the first contractor came out, he put a piece of cardboard behind the refrigerator and said that should do the trick. But the next day, it still wasn’t working. So we called that contractor back and left multiple messages. Then we called 2-10 Home Buyers and they tried to get ahold of that same contractor. But their mailbox was full so we had to go through a second contractor. They came out the next day but it had taken me an additional week to get the second contractor. Then the part that he ordered is also backordered so my refrigerator is still not fixed and he said the part might not even come until Thanksgiving.

It's the freezer that’s not working so we lost everything in our freezer. It's a two-sided refrigerator and the refrigerator side is still working somewhat. We just can't keep any dairy in there. We do have a backup refrigerator at our old house though. We're just waiting to get someone to help us grab that so we can use that until that part comes in. But I haven't gotten any accommodation from 2-10.

2-10's online process to get things started was pretty good. Within a day, they had identified the contractor. We had made an appointment and the contractor had to change it. He was here to take a look at the washer probably within a week. The quality of the work was good and the professionalism was great. Unfortunately, we were not able to solve the problem. The washer is no good and it was not repairable. He called me this morning to let me know that he had submitted that to 2-10 to let them know it needs to be replaced and I'm just waiting on approval. He told me that I should get a call today.

Everything has been good thus far, so I’m happy about that. I’m really not sure what they're gonna come up with but I have every confidence that we’ll come up with a resolution. The contractor had suggested that there were a couple different ways that they could do this and I’m hoping I have an option in this particular situation ‘cause I don't have time to go find another machine. I don't think that they’re gonna give me enough money to go and replace it. But I like what I read. If it actually goes into practice then this would be terrific.

We've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for three years now and we've experienced some good and bad things. I’m not that satisfied with it, but it’s the one that has been easiest for us to use so far. Most of their reps have been very pleasant and I’m happy with the people they've sent out to work on our system. We probably got one that was good. But I was not happy with the result I got when we first came out here.

The first contractor that 2-10 ever sent out here was the worst one I ever had. I called 2-10 and talked to the complaint department. But that guy is still doing business with 2-10 ‘cause they've tried to send him out here again. I told them no way, not again. When a person comes to work and he asks me if I have tools or an equipment to use so he can make a temporary fix, that’s a no-no.

The first time that contractor came out, he said that the water heater was leaking. 2-10 replaced it, but the issue wasn’t the water heater. It was a pipe that was leaking out of the air conditioning unit that the guy screwed up. So I got a new water heater, but the house got flooded in the closet area. The temporary pipe that was put in finally gave out and it just got fixed this year. The other air conditioning place came and rectified that.

We also turned in a claim for a roof on the house and on my garage and they wouldn’t cover the garage ‘cause one board was not caused by storm damage. It was caused by the board starting to rot out because of water damage. Water damage got in because the roof blew up and they wouldn’t cover that, so I ended up paying that myself. Then they wouldn't pay for the one on the house because they said it wasn’t that extensive and that it would be cheapest to fix the one roof. So I’m dissatisfied with that answer either. I did have some water leakage with that.

I made a claim over the phone and everything with 2-10 was great. It was scheduled for Wednesday, but the tech had to come out the following day after that. He called me to let me know what was up. He cut a hole in the wall and found the problem. One of the pipes wasn't sealed off like it was supposed to, but he went ahead and sealed it up. He also gave me a seal to cover up the hole. All I gotta do is widen the hole up a little bit. The floor ain't wet no more, so it's obviously fixed.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty came as part of the contract when we bought the house and we're potentially thinking about renewing with them. I called on a Saturday to submit my claim regarding a water heater. It was very easy, but with the contractor, it was not so easy. The information I gave the 2-10 person was not fully read by the contractor. When he came out on a Monday, he was expecting to fix the existing water heater rather than knowing it was to be replaced. We had to wait until a few more days for them to reschedule and get back out here on a Thursday to replace it. No hot water with three small kids is not fun.

The process was a little slower than what I wanted it to be though 'cause we were pretty ranked by the time he was done. Still, it worked out and I'm very satisfied with my experience with 2-10. I actually just purchased a new home yesterday, and I got a 2-10 on that one too.

In four years of my experience, we never used 2-10 and then we used them two times. One time was for the commode, and that worked very well. The guy who came to fix the toilet was helpful and good. The second time was for a refrigerator problem. There was leakage so all of my hardwood floor was watery. It pooled, and my basement ceiling leaked. We called 2-10, but the contractor didn’t fix anything when he came out the first time. He said that he had to come back to fix it and after a week, he came back.

We thought that he will be changing the whole pipe, but he just patched up and fixed the toilet temporarily. He said that with the home warranty, that’s how the process is. After a couple of days, water started leaking again. I went to the 2-10 website and reopened the same ticket. The appliances company contacted me almost immediately, and the next day, the same guy came in. Again, he fixed it the same way. I am hoping that it will work fine, and I don’t have to recall again, but I am very disappointed with this second experience. The leak has damaged my hardwood floor and nobody’s going to pay for my hardwood floor or my ceiling.

There was someone that came yesterday, but it was dispatched to an electrician as opposed to an appliance individual. I got a call from 2-10 Home Warranty yesterday saying I put in a wrong request, but I had clearly indicated in the request that was put in for a Downblast exhaust system. They said exhaust systems, by default, fall under electrical issues category. There was nothing on the website that gave me that information. I had put in a previous service request for the same issue, and I picked appliance at that time. I was advised that this was not an appliance issue, it was an exhaust issue.

Number one, the -210 website is not very intuitive. The second thing is they seem to have incorrect contact information. I have a new cell phone number, and I used to own a property before and I may have used their services before. They seem to still have my old contact information. They were trying to call my old cell phone and not my new one. That also put things on hold. But I managed to get a hold of the company to take a look at the appliance. I’ve scheduled an appointment with them and I’m hoping that they'll come today or tomorrow to come and take a look at it.

With the previous claim that I put in at 2-10, it fixed the problem. But I’ve been having the same issue resurface again. I’m gonna wait for the new company to come and take a look at it, and do the diagnosis and tell what needs to be done. There was a part that was replaced and seemed to be working for about two weeks, and then it stopped working after that.

I'm very upset with 2-10. The realtor recommended them and I've had the coverage for two years and a few months. It's the third time that I bought their home warranty. I was in rush and I had to renew it, but I'm very unhappy since last year. The service providers are fine. Usually, they take forever. A few months ago, I was two months without AC because first, 2-10 forgot to order some parts. Then the vendor ordered the wrong part. When they finally ordered the right part, they were switching another part, and I was two months without AC.

Now, they sent me the same provider for another item. The guy said that he checked what was wrong, and nothing was wrong, but he didn't even check. The reason he didn't check it was because he didn't fit in the space that he was supposed to check. And then, they charged me the $75, but they didn't send another person that fits in the space to where you find the leak. I was notified this morning, and then, I called 2-10. They were supposedly to call me two days ago and nobody called me. I called the vendor and then, "Oh, we're gonna call you when we have time because, this, this and that, that," but then I still have the leak. Whenever I have an issue, I usually go online and follow up on the phone because I try to explain the situation with people. But they say they would call me back, and sometimes it takes a week to call me back.

We had tried to go through our inspection company for a claim because they provided a warranty for 90 days. They said that their inspector had checked it, and it was not leaking at the time of the inspection. But because of the age of the unit, they didn't cover it. So, I called Home Buyers and I said, "I had somebody come out already, paid them a service call to come out and inspect it. Could I submit that as opposed to having somebody else come out and pay another service call?" It was explained to me that that wasn't possible because it wasn't the person that they would preferably use. So, that was fine. They then had somebody come out, and that was great. Everything was going fine and then our claim was denied.

Then I had an inspection report that said the dishwasher was fine, but the dishwasher was obviously leaking. We told our realtor that they denied the claim. She called the salesperson who then put us in touch with the customer advocate. They reviewed the case and spoke to us, and the claim ended up becoming approved. And so we scheduled the maintenance guy to come out. One of the guys who typically works on that type of dishwasher was on vacation, so they sent another guy out. He put the part on upside down or too tight, so it was still leaking. We called them back, and they sent the guy out the next day, and he fixed the issue. It was just a little frustrating for my wife and I at first since it did not seem like anybody wanted to fix the dishwasher. But, overall, the experience was fine. Everything got resolved in a timely manner. The warranty has lived up to what it was supposed to do.

We were very thorough and noted systems that were working/not working including the appliances. After moving in the washer began malfunctioning. We called the 2-10 - it took 12 days for an appliance repair person to come out. It cost us 100 bucks for him to take a look at the washer and tell our home warranty company that he thought it was damaged before we moved in and voided our warranty.

ALl of this despite a written inspection report and visual inspection showing that the washer was in working condition a month prior. Exactly a month later, I am told they are taking the word over their repair man on the guesstimate of when the washer broke vs. my inspector's written letter. RIDICULOUS. I doubt they will fix anything that breaks _ I am 100 percent disappointed with this company.

We have never made a change to our policy and have't found any notification via email or letter that they no longer cover dryers. The website state that they cover washer and dryer but apparently this is not the case. We spoke to his supervisor. He states that because of an "insurance act" they no longer cover certain items and cannot cover ours because that would be fraud. We asked to speak to his boss. His boss states there is nobody else to talk to and that his title is floor supervisor. Just writing this review as a warning that their website is not completely honest and appears misleading. Our upstairs AC unit stopped working mid-July. We called 2-10 to start a claim and initially, they were very prompt with sending out a contractor. The contractor added coolant and called it a day. A few days later, the AC still isn't working. We had to call back to request a service visit again, the same contractor came back and said everything is working fine, no issues with the system. Despite the fact that the AC isn't working and it's the same temperature inside as outside, a cool 88 degrees. He does nothing, takes notes and leaves.

We called in for another contractor, we were charged another service fee for the same issue since evidently the previous case was closed with no communication to us. The next contractor comes out, says the fan isn't working, and replaces that. Why the first guy didn't check the fan over his two visits, I have no idea. A few days later though, it's clear the fan isn't the only problem with the AC.

We called in for a third contractor, this one from a different company. The guy came by, found a leak in the evaporator coil, and put in an order to have it replaced. I have no idea why the first three service calls missed this. The contractor said the part would be ordered within 24-48 hours, a day or so to ship the part, and then a few days to schedule work to replace it. When I've heard nothing after a week of waiting, I called 2-10 about the status of the order. Turns out, "somebody didn't click the button to order the coil".

This case has been going on for almost 2 months, has seen 4 service visits, and is still being delayed! Unbelievable! 2-10 contracts with companies that are looking to do the minimum amount of work and it shows. Their customer service is fine over the phone, but they don't make any attempt at follow-up communication. The only benefit to this is that the warranty was paid for by the seller when we bought our house last year. I don't care if I knew every appliance in my house would break in the next 6 months, I wouldn't renew my warranty with 2-10. Absolutely terrible experience!

It was a no-call, no-show to fix the unit and it had been several days since it was working.

I called 2-10 and let them know that I've been paying for this service now for two years and have never even been able to use it and am out of my money for the service. They told me that there’s a fine print that says they’re not responsible for the vendors delaying service. I told them that it wasn't a delay but a straight no-call, no-show. They weren't very interested in any of that and they told me to go ahead and pay whoever I would like to fix the AC unit, and if it qualifies, they would reimburse me. I found my own company to come out and I verified with 2-10 that the contractor would get paid and that they were somebody that they use. The technician let me know what was wrong and since the repair, things have been going very well. Then, I cancelled the 2-10 service.

The water wasn't hot at all and since I had two claims to do, I did it over the phone. The representative was great and the contractor for the water heater came out the next day. They were pretty good. They looked through all the possible situations as to why the water heater wasn't working because everything looked fine with the water heater. The technician said maybe it was sedimentation because it wasn't that old. They ended up just replacing the water heater because they couldn't figure why it wasn't heating up. The approval from 2-10 was done the same day and the water is hot now. The water heater is good.

But I've had this house for three years and every time it rained, the AC would leak into my daughter's room. I've called 2-10 several times about it but they kept giving me the runaround. All the people that they sent over here wouldn't do anything. My daughter's uncle works in air conditioning. He came over here and in five minutes, he said the duct wasn't connected.

Then 2-10 called me the other day after two and a half weeks of waiting for them to give me an answer. They told me that they won't fix the AC and that it was improperly installed. I asked if it was from being installed improperly or if it was from wear and tear because it took them three years to determine this. It couldn't be from wear and tear because they had sent over eight technicians and nobody was able to determine this until I told them what was wrong. I'm gonna end up canceling the warranty right now. But it's just the AC that they won't do anything about. They've also done other stuff.

We had a claim for an external pipe leak and everyone was great. The company that 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty sent out is awesome and I love them. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. We also had an air conditioning guy who replaced some kind of switch or something in the air conditioning unit and it worked perfectly fine. But when we had a toilet leak, we had someone that said that it was just the back where the float was. But that was not it. The guy from 2-10 said that it was the handle. Then we went and got the part and replaced the handle. So it’s fine now.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty should make phone calls and not just emails when asking how our experience was. By the time it’s over with and you’re still feeling dissatisfied, you shouldn’t have to call the company and go through it all again. We had that issue in the past where we were not happy about our experience. It was with the refrigerator and dishwasher. We had to call twice for the dishwasher because we were having some water coming out underneath it. It was two separate companies so when I called in, it was mass confusion on who would be coming out and when they would be coming out. They did get someone out here and it was finally resolved but it was aggravating. Other than that, I've been with 2-10 for a little bit less than a year and we’ll be renewing in November. We’ve already recommended them to a friend of ours.

There was an issue where the part was showing as delivered but the contractor stated that they have not received the part. So, I got in contact with somebody at 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and they said that they were gonna follow up and see if they could track down the parts. There's probably just an error with the company shipping the parts but the claims have been handled pretty well. We've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty since we've purchased the house and we've used it a couple of times. We've been very happy with it and it has definitely saved us a lot of money.

I filed a claim for my water heater to 2-10 and everything went perfect start to finish. It took a week or two for the contractor to come out. They just said to order the tank and get all the stuff. It had to be replaced as it was leaking like crazy. It just took a couple of days for 2-10 to get it approved. The workmanship was wonderful. Very, very glad the gentleman came out. He was very professional, informative, he showed me things, and everything was great. I've got another claim going and hopefully, that one goes as smoothly as this one.

I bought my place in June, and the original owner bought the insurance for a year. I upgraded it to the better policy and when I had to call 2-10 about my washing machine, I got a very nice rep. Getting things started was a little slow though. Their contractor could not fix the washing machine for about four weeks so I was without a washer for three weeks. 2-10 ended up buying me a new one and the dryer's back up on it. Now, everything is great and good to go.

We have been clients of 2-10 since we purchased our home 5 years ago. We have used the policy and 2-10 has lived up to everything they said they would do, including replacing a refrigerator, an oven and a hot water heater. Needless to say, we used our policy. Over time, our 2-10 premiums have gone up and we decided to shop the policy and selected another company with lower premiums and deductible. The first time we filed a claim with the new company it was denied because we did not have 3 yrs maintenance records. That was never an issue with 2-10 so it never occurred to us (nor was it was not explicit in the plan's contract either). We are dropping our cut rate plan and coming back to 2-10 where we have had a great experience. A Repentant Customer.

Everything went good with my most recent claim with 2-10. I went online to file it. It was pretty easy though understanding what they wanted was a little trying at times. But the plumber did what he needed to do. He had to cut a hole in the basement on the side where one of the faucets was in order to be able to change the faucet out. But he’s a plumber so he couldn’t put the sheetrock back up, paint it, and do whatever needs to be done. So, I called back and talked to somebody, and nobody has returned my call on whether they’re gonna come back and fix it or what the deal is. I don’t know whether I gotta go back and put another claim in ‘cause it’s not really a warranty claim, but it had to be done.

My claim with 2-10 for my electric cooktop is still not done. The contractor told me that there is a part that they are still waiting for. The last thing they told me was that they would let me know when the part arrived. It's the two burners of our cooktop that are not working and we don't know what type of part it is they are waiting for. The whole process has been taking over a month which is a long time to repair a cooktop.

Last time, I spoke with a representative for my 2-10 Home Warranty. I asked her if she could at least give the concerned people a call. I'm pretty sure that the parts could get there faster. I don't know if they put in enough interest in our fixing our things. But the representative told me that it wasn't into her side to do what I asked and that I had to stay in contact with the contractor. I got in contact with the contractor and they told me that they haven't received the one part.

I'm kinda disappointed about this process because it's not the first time. We made a claim before for our dishwasher because it wasn't working. We had the same problem. We ended up just canceling the claim and having the dishwasher fixed with our own money because 2-10 just kept sending technicians over but nobody could fix it. The first thing that we got for the contractor was to pay the $100 money that they collect. We wanted this guy to fix our thing.

In the case of our cooktop, we just buy most of the food outside now that we can't cook that much. There's not much we can cook in the small burners. The kids have already started school and it's kind of a problem to make breakfast on time for them. But those issues aside, I'm currently satisfied at this point with 2-10. I need the warranty because we are not contractors so we don't know anything about appliances. The warranty is important but I think it's important for the warranty to be more responsible when they probably have better and more responsible contractors.

When we bought our house five years ago, our Realtor recommended 2-10. We've been with them for five years now and we've kept them for the peace of mind. If something were to happen, we have that warranty on certain things in the house. Their claims process has been easy overall. I've done it online and by phone. Generally, I prefer the phone.

The last one I put in was for a plumbing issue. We did not have any issues with the plumbling company and the last guy that came out. He was here in the timeframe that they had given us. I told him I felt like our sump pump was the issue and it definitely was. He was able to take care of that for us. We haven't had any issues since he replaced our sump pump.

Our biggest complaint is we have not been impressed with the companies 2-10 contracts with overall. In the past couple of years, we tried to make the decision of whether or not we continue using 2-10. If we decide in the future not to continue with 2-10, that would be the number one reason. I've complained to 2-10 about that issue before, but there is just that general number you call for 2-10. They listen but say that it is what it is. These are the companies they have a contract with. If we want to use their home warranty, they were our options.

In the end, it worked out pretty good because the check from 2-10 was 577 and the stove I bought was like 525, then I had to buy the plug for the cord. You would think that would come with the cord, but that was like $20. I had to pay somebody $20 to help me deliver it. I wound up spending like 577 and I got 577 check, so it came out to be just enough for me. It worked good. I got a brand-new stove.

My stove won’t retain any temperature. If you set at 380, the temperature will eventually go up to 450. You cannot even make a grasp or a scale of it. One day it will be fine and the other day, you set it at again at 380 and the temperature will be 300. I then called in with the problem and suggested to 2-10 that it was the control panel. So, they decreed that the technician had to come out. He came out and I had to pay the $60 for his visit. He also said that the control panel needed to be replaced. Rather than 2-10 replacing the unit that I had, I was offered $665 -- and that doesn’t cover the cost even of an inferior model of the GE Profile that we have. But, I can understand the company. A product that is already eight years old could be construed as ready for ditching, and it is going to have those problems. I then decided that I would accept the 665, and then try repairing it.

We’ve had the house here for six years, and I started off with 2-10. The only reason I changed two years ago to American Home Shield was because their rates were so much lower than 2-10. But, with the experience I had with AHS where I lost quite a lot of money on that, I returned to 2-10. Overall, I’m very happy with the experience with them.

We couldn't run the pump and in the heat we have, the pool was gonna turn green or black really soon. The original swimming pool company that 2-10 gave me never called me back. I tried calling them and didn't get a response. So, I called the guy that put my pool in. The person I talked to at 2-10 asked me to have him call them so that he could be some kind of contractor. That guy called me back that day and told me that everything had been approved. The repair was done fine.

WORST service ever! Major Scam, terrible service. Leaving my wife and I without AC in 90 degree weather telling us to deal with it and wait for the process to take place. Have spent 4+ hours on the phone trying to get my issue addressed and there is no sense of urgency to resolve our dilemma. AC went out in Florida on Friday August 30. Called a local AC repair man forgetting we had warranty. Was a pain to get reimbursed for out of network provider, but we wish that was the last we had to deal with 2-10. Unfortunately it was not as our problem was not fixed and called 2-10 to schedule a service through their network of professionals. Were told we would receive a phone call within 24 hours from their selected contractor to remedy the issue. We did not. Nor were we contacted by 2-10 to make sure we received service.

We call again wait on hold another 30 minutes to be told that they have now scheduled us with another provider. Say we will get a phone call in 24 hours. We did not, but we received a text with a service appointment for Tuesday because Monday was a holiday and they do not do warranty repairs on the weekend and/or holidays.... Excuse me? how is that even possible as we are without a major component to our well being (air conditioning in the Florida summer). Now we are without air Friday - Monday and still no diagnoses and/or potential fix.

Technician diagnoses us with a bad compressor on Tuesday morning around 9:50am. Instead of putting the request in they tell us it will take 2 weeks for 2-10 process and tries to upsell us on a new unit instead. Claiming they can give us a warranty discount. We respectfully say we will consider. After speaking to wife we decide to go forward with warranty fix, not purchase a $8,000 new unit. Call contractor with decision and am tried to be talked out of my decision again requesting a new unit be installed instead. After back and forth claiming I do not want to spend $8,000 when I have a warranty they reluctantly agree, BUT say they cannot input until the next day? HUH? How does that make sense.

Call 2-10 and they say nothing we can d. They have 24 hours to submit. Contractor also charged me $100 service fee when I was told by two seperate reps at 2-10 that this was a recall from initial service request that I paid in full and the fee would be waived. 2-10 never communicated to contractor and spent 2 hours on phone finally getting a manager to refund me based on misleading information from their team. So AGAIN, out money and no air going on 5 days with average house temp pushing 90 degrees. Insane.

Now it is Tuesday and call 2-10's contractor to confirm work order was placed around 11:00am. They said it was not they are backed up. If they are too busy then they should not be a contractor for a warranty company. Called 2-10 around 2:00pm to make sure the contractor submitted diagnoses. 2-10 confirms it is submitted and purchase order has been made for parts. They should arrive in 3-5 business days..... HUH? Why does 2-10 need to order the parts for the contractor who has the part in their warehouse? More importantly, it has been 5 days and why was this not rush shipped? Rep tells me it is standard process, more or less just deal with it.

I contest saying this is not right. 2-10 rep claims they live in San Antonio and they too had to wait 5-15 business days to get AC back on in 90 degree weather as if this is a common thing. NO WAY should anyone be treated like this in a situation such as mine. Proceeds to tell me to calm down and this is normal. Once part arrives the contractor can probably come out and install in the next week or two and remember this one does not work weekends... HUH? Now I am looking at possible 20 days without air conditioning in Florida because I bought a home warranty. Makes no sense. This is the exact situation it is supposed to relieve and prevent NOT escalate frustrations.

Plead with the rep to see if there is anything they could do and their response is that we have already ordered part for this contractor and they must be the one to complete the work now. It is out of their hands. Suggest putting me on hold to speak to purchasing about potentially getting the already shipped item rushed. If it was already shipped and in transit how can you rush that shipment? Not shipping expert, but never have I been able to call mid shipment and escalate the delivery time. Maybe new technology? I tell them I want to work with a new contractor who will not try to upsell me and one that is not telling me they are too busy to service my needs. Told I cannot because the part was already ordered and it is what it is.... Unacceptable.

I asked for a manager as this is not working for me and told that I needed to be called back at 4:00PM. It is now 4:30PM and still not a word. Obviously 2-10 has too many clients with a limited number for contractors who do not have enough staff to service warranty calls, but plenty of staff to install a new unit two days from now. If you respect yourself and your time you will not purchase anything from this organization and their shady business practices. Obviously my issue is not important to this company. 2-10 should stop trying to make all of their calls fit into the same process as a microwave fix is certainly different than an AC repair in an extremely hot destination in the middle of summer. Not one person in this organization has done anything to expedite the process or ensure that the customer is happy.

2-10 is a scam and once your money is collected they don't care. They contract with providers who would rather use them as a lead list to up sell new units and force you and your family to wait for major appliance repairs without a concern for your well being. It is becoming a sad world when companies can charge you a premium for protection and fail to protect you without any repercussions.

If you want to waste your money, time and be treated like a piece of crap during one of the most stressful situations in your life then go ahead and buy a 2-10 warranty package. If you want to be treated with respect and care, then we suggest you seek another organization, because I would not wish this experience on anyone. Have some respect for your customers!!!!

I got a home warranty from 2-10 when I purchased my new home in July of 2019. By mid-August, I already had to use them multiple times for plumbing and HVAC issues. The first plumber they sent out refused to replace the garbage disposal citing that the breakage was due to an issue from counter-top installation...two years' prior. After paying for a second opinion, they sent a *third* plumber out who immediately agreed with my second opinion and fixed the issue on spot.

Two weeks later, my air conditioner stopped working in 100+ degree weather; of course, it was a Sunday. My two dogs and my elderly grandmother who lives with me had been in the house all day before the issue was identified, so I requested emergency service. I was denied because, and I am quoting verbatim my "state has to issue it a state of emergency, first." I was told I couldn't change the provider they'd suggested (who doesn't work on Sundays) and my only recourse was to either wait 24 hours or go out-of-network and send the diagnostic in via email for reimbursement. I got it handled out-of-network immediately, and sent the diagnostic + paid invoice for $732 to 2-10 via the provided email within 12 hours.

Two full weeks later, I received no response, and followed up; another full week later, I was told that the email address I had been provided was for accounting, not claims, and I'd need to call for a status update. Upon calling and being transferred, I was told that my total reimbursement was $46 because I'd gone out-of-network. The short version is, this company sucks. Their representatives provide misinformation and they do everything they can to not pay you, including putting the life of your family (and pets) in danger to avoid providing adequate service. I don't recommend this company to anyone looking for a home warranty that actually works.

I had another provider at one time and they were excellent when I first got them but then they weren’t so good. Then I found 2-10. I’ve had this warranty for three years now and so far, they’ve been pretty good with the two times we've had to use them. I usually call to file a claim and the representatives have always been excellent. When I had a water heater with a leak in it, 2-10 did replace it and the contractor did a good job.

I had only one problem with the whole thing. It is a rental property that we own and when our tenant called and said there was water on the floor, it was on a Friday but we couldn’t get anybody there until Tuesday. That was a stress for me because my tenant had to shut off their hot water and they didn’t have any hot water over the weekend. Then after my tenant was contacted by the contractor on Monday, it was Tuesday or Wednesday before he could do anything. So that was not too comfortable. 2-10 really needs to do something about that.

I know the way this works is that 2-10 offers to send business to these guys and they give 2-10 reduced rates. And that’s all really good but 2-10 needs to have some guys who work on the weekend for emergencies, whether it's an electrical emergency or a plumbing emergency, whatever it might be. In Arizona, air conditioning is a real big emergency because the temperatures get to be a 115 there.

What happened was I still had a claim on my air conditioner. The air-conditioning is now fixed. I was just waiting for the contractor for the garbage disposal to call me back so we could get that replaced. But they did a good job. He unclogged it. He told me and showed me what the problem was. He said, “I know the air-conditioning is priority. Let’s get that fixed first, and then we’ll come back after the air-conditioning’s fixed. They just need to call and schedule when they’re gonna come.

I've been with 2-10 for a little over a year now. When I went to the mortgage company I went to, 2-10 was part of the package. I stayed with 2-10 since I already used them for the first year. I just renewed back at the end of July. Submitting a claim is very easy because it’s online. The only issue I had was getting a hold of the initial contractor when my AC first went out. They came out the first time and said they had fixed it. It wasn’t fixed. It was also sort of a tussle to get them to come back out and properly diagnose the problem. I went for almost a month in the middle of summer without air-conditioning. I had to buy a portable unit for my bedroom to keep my wife happy.

After I called the contractor, and then I had a discussion with one young lady about that whole situation, the process has been rather smooth. They’ve called to check up to find out how everything’s been going. I know they are busy. I called and I was on the phone for almost 45 minutes before somebody picked up. She was telling me, “Well, you can make an appointment. I said, “No. You make the appointment, but you can’t do it today. Because I’ve been on the phone for 45 minutes, and now, it’s after 5:00. They’re closed.” She still went ahead and called them. Then she came back and said, “Yeah, they’re closed.” I was like, “Well, I was trying to tell you that.” But at that point I was about six feet off the ground.

The contractors were very pleasant. They did a good job. My issue was the second time they were to come out, they said somebody was coming out to take a look but they didn’t really explain to me that I had to call 2-10 and get their permission. That was what really got me upset. I took half a day off of work and at 4:00, I was calling. They said, “Well, you didn’t call.” I said, “Well, you didn’t tell me to call you to get authorization. I’m expecting somebody to show up.” If they had showed up on time, maybe we could have called and gotten all of that resolved right there on the phone. But they waited until after the waiting period. Nobody called me. I had to call them. After we had that first encounter, everything has been like clockwork. The air-conditioning is fixed now.

When I’ve submitted a claim with 2-10, it’s been fairly easy to do. I’ve just been calling and talking with someone and they may assign it to whichever company that is available. Then that company will call me and we’ll schedule a time for them to come out. All of them have been pretty good. There was only one that couldn’t service me at that moment. It was electrical and whoever does the electrical work was out on sick leave so they kicked it back to 2-10. I also discovered a couple of other things that were electrical that weren’t working in the house so when I called again, 2-10 didn’t send the same people out. They reassigned it to whoever was available at that time and they got the job done. However, 2-10 was part of the mortgage and I wasn’t told about the $100 upfront deposit that I would have to pay each time someone comes out. That was kind of a shocker.

The first contractor that 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty sent out for our oven was terrible. They came and said that they knew what I needed and that they would be back in a couple of days with the part. They came back with a different part than they said. They said that it was what their master tech said that they needed. They put it in and waited to see what was gonna happen. It didn't change a thing. We still had the same problem with the oven. The guy said that they would be back the following week and would fix it for sure. Instead of doing that, they just closed out the work order. We had problems with this contractor before and I was surprised that 2-10 was still using them.

2-10 sent somebody else and the second one was good. He figured out what was really wrong with it but it was priced too high. So 2-10 just bought us out and we got the check that they sent. But I'm not satisfied with the claim. I’d like 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty to use better contractors. Also, I didn't realize that all our appliances were capped at $400. So now we’re looking at a $2000 oven that we have to buy.

My warranty with 2-10 is going on my second year now. I decided to renew it a little while ago, though initially I wasn't going to. I don’t know how they bill people and what kind of services they really provide to the homeowners. Most of the work that is being done isn’t 100%, but at the same time, I don’t know what I could really do about that, if that’s just what 2-10 expects when you have a warranty and you’re not paying full price. I had the garbage disposal replaced, and it’s the worst garbage disposal I’ve ever had because it doesn’t work at all. It can’t even crush ice. It’s so weak that you can’t throw anything in there. The same thing I had with the refrigerator, I had them fix a few things in it and I haven't been able to open the bottom freezer ‘cause it always freezes on the inside.

My water bill at the house was about $350 a month, and I figured out that my toilets were leaking. 2-10 sent people out to fix the toilets, and as soon as the guy left, while he was in the driveway, my toilet was leaking again. I called up the company and they said they were gonna have to send another person back who’s gonna charge me another $100. I was like, “The guy is not even out of my driveway right now.” But they said, “That’s not how it works, sir.” I called up 2-10 and they scheduled somebody else to come back to my house. It’s been over three weeks and that guy has not answered my phone calls. Every morning that I use the toilet, I have to turn the water off in the back just so it won’t keep leaking.

The experience has always been good when I talk to 2-10 on the phone, but I didn't sign up for insurance just so they could put something which barely works. I would rather pay somebody two or three times the money that at least takes care of the problem rather than taking time off work, dealing with these contractors and then not getting something great put in. I’d be happy to pay any of these contractors for an upgrade that the insurance company does not cover, but it’s an added cost of this and that. It’s almost like 2-10 never gives those options. They have fixed a lot of things at the house, but I’m not happy with any one of them.

However, when they came out, they did okay considering that they were trying to replace the hot water tank heater. It was kind of a big thing ‘cause they called someone else who came out and never completed it. In the end, everything worked. They had to have builders to come in and build around it.

We've been with 2-10 for six months now and submitting a claim with them was very simple. I had a little bit of trouble doing it online at first, so I called. But for the most part, I'm kinda getting the hang of the website now. The service contractor that came out was really nice and helpful initially, but then we had a problem where we had to call him back. We couldn't get a hold of him after that. He didn't return calls and he didn't reply to messages. 2-10 was very helpful and when we had to get a contractor out, they really helped us with the reimbursement. They took care of it, and they were quick about getting that reimbursement for us. So, that was good.

My fridge needed repair due to the coils freezing up and the fridge/freezer not staying cold enough. I had to use a hairdryer to melt the excess ice off the coils to keep it working. I submitted a claim on 7/8/2019. 1-2 days later a technician came out, diagnosed the problem and said once the parts come in, he would be back to fix it. Then two weeks go by and I called the home warranty company 2-10 to figure out what the delay was about. They told me the contractor charged too much for the parts and they rather supply their own for less cost. Fine, call ended, and I waited another week with no calls. I had to call once again to follow up with 2-10 to have them tell me they weren't sure of the delays, but they would ensure to expedite the parts to the contractor and as soon as they get them, they would call me to schedule a repair date.

Another week goes by and I proceeded to call 2-10 again. This time they tell me 2 of the 3 parts have been delivered and 1 of them was sent to the wrong PO box but that they would expedite that part again. Another week goes by with no call. I reached out again, now 2-10 tells me that the contractor may have returned the parts back to where they came from.

Another phone call later I am told they haven't been returned but that they are still waiting on the third part to arrive. At this point I was getting frustrated with the back and forth, so I requested the service fee of $100 to be refunded/waived which they did. Then another week later without a set date for repair, I expected better compensation since this issue had been going on longer than it should have. By this time quite a bit of food items had to be thrown out due to the fridge and freezer temperatures not being stable. Having to plan meals around what could stay fresh in a fridge and freezer at inconsistent temperatures is quite challenging.

I reached out and emailed an account manager with the company to see if she could help rectify this situation or refer me to someone who could. She forwarded my email to a corporate office and said I should get a phone call the same day which I did. At week 6, 5 days before the technician was scheduled to arrive, she offered to give me credit towards buying a small mini fridge which I declined. I explained to her that every 2-3 days I have to empty my freezer, lay down a towel, melt excess ice off the coils with a blow dryer and place all the food back into the freezer. At week 6 of doing this a small mini fridge/freezer did help, let alone be able to hold the amount food we have. I explain I wanted some type of credit, free future repairs, free year of service, etc. She told me that she wasn’t aware of those type of resolutions happening in the past but would look into it.

Fast forward to five days later, week 7 of the original request. The repair guy shows up, very friendly, does the repair and leaves. I get a phone call from the same lady from corporate following up if my repair had been complete. I tell her yes; she proceeds to tell me. "If you need anything else, let us know. Have a nice day." I had to stop her before she hung up and ask if she followed up on looking into what else the company could do for a resolution since it took 7 weeks to get my fridge repaired and all she said was that she could refund me $100 of my previous plumbing leak but nothing else.

I asked if there was someone above her that had more authority that I could speak to about rectifying this situation and she told me no. I reiterated to her, “After 7 weeks of several food items going bad, spending hours of my time using a hair dryer to melt ice off the freezer coils, having to spend time out of my day to follow up on the status of the repair since no one from your office would call me back when they said they would and my electric bill being higher than normal because of the fridge working overtime you would expect more to be done.” She then tells me that there is nothing that can be done about parts being delays via the service agreement.

This wasn't just a parts delay… this was 2-10 and the contractor going back and forth about pricing, plus an incorrect address used, all while I was doing the legwork calling and following up to make sure things were being taken care of. Before the repairman left, I happen to look at the delivery dates and shipment dates on the boxes for the parts. The shipments were never expedited like they claimed they were. Sad, for spending $550 for a 1-year home warranty you would expect better professional service. Total number of calls not including calls to someone at the "president’s office". 2-10. 7/8 – submitted online, 7/25 – 20 min, 8/5 – 15 min, 8/7 – 18 min, 8/7 – 9 min, 8/20 – 1 min, 8/21 – 34 min. It was just a pain in the butt. 2-10's contractor took care of it, and he was great. He had to replace the rack, and now the dishwasher seems to be cleaning dishes, so we're great. I don't have to sit there and play with the stupid thing to make sure that it's sitting just right to where it could spin. The only thing I'm mad about, I had a buyback in a very expensive refrigerator, and 2-10 only gave me $900 for a $2,600 refrigerator or replace it with a regular deck, but mine's a counter deck. It would stick out like five inches more than it's supposed to, and I'm not happy about that. Otherwise, they've been fine.

Submitting a claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was painless. I just went online, submitted the problem and 2-10 pinged me within a couple of minutes to let me know that a tech has been assigned. They also give me instructions on what to do if I don't hear from the tech within a certain amount of time. Still, I haven't had any issues. The tech for the refrigerator claim was outstanding. He diagnosed the problem within a couple of minutes, had the part on hand, and was able to fix and leave within an hour. The tech for the dishwasher was alright too.

Overall, I've been very pleased with 2-10 so far. I've experienced ease with the issues I've called on. I've had the AC unit go out and the technician showed, responsive during the weekend, fixed the issue and got everything going. There were no extra charges and things were exactly what they promised. I've referred 2-10 to a couple of people so far.

I had an issue with my AC unit before and that issue was fixed pretty quickly. That was why I paid for a second year with 2-10. But then I've had one very miserable experience and a so-far-so-good experience. 2-10 charged $150 for the repair of the refrigerator and ordered parts, which took almost three weeks, but my fridge is still not working.

When I filed the claim, it took the contractor about three days to really get here. Then they took a look for less than 30 seconds and decided that they need to replace the parts. But after they left, there was no contact until I contacted them. When they came back, almost two and a half weeks later, they told me that it was 2-10 that was the hold up. 2-10 was not sending the parts fast enough and they were waiting for approval. By the time they got back to me, I already bought a spare freezer.

They've come and replaced the parts and the refrigerator is supposed to be fixed now because when the technician left, he said it was gonna take time to cool down and to wait for 24 hours. But it didn’t happen so I waited another 24 hours. The top section of the whole unit is still not cooling. So I've had sour milk for my kids for the past few days. I didn’t even know until my kids told me. When I called the contractor after-hours, they said it was best to email. So I emailed but nobody responded and it's been about a week since they put in those parts.

I’m just gonna buy a new refrigerator and cancel 2-10 because they’re not doing anything. They delayed the whole thing for almost a month. They just want you to buy a new unit without honoring the warranty. I don’t have time for this. We don’t keep anything in the fridge anymore and I’ve been eating out. Maybe I just have to file another claim, pay another $100 and have another month of waiting before somebody will maybe fix my refrigerator. But by that time, I would have spent $200 already and my refrigerator will probably not be fixed.

My experience with 2-10 for my refrigerator was horrible. It took a year to get it fixed. I filed the initial claim in November of last year and they ended up replacing it two weeks ago. They had multiple different technicians came out. They all addressed different issues they thought that was the problem. But then, the back panel continued to freeze over, and the ice maker did not work. During the last go-around, the technician accidentally broke the filter and it flooded my house. So, I had to replace the carpet and all the baseboards in the dining room.

At the same time last year, I filed a claim with my dishwasher but then somehow they never ordered the part. 2-10 and their contractor finally ended up fixing the dishwasher in April. While the techs they have sent have been alright for the most part, the last guy was not really friendly. They sent one guy who addressed the problem but then he said that it was messed up and their company wasn't gonna be able to fix it. Instead, he was gonna put in for 2-10 to replace the dishwasher.

I called 2-10 'cause I never heard anything back. I guess they dropped the ball ordering the part. I asked them to ask if they could have the same technician come out. Instead, they said that the tech I was referring to is not a certified or licensed person to be doing that. 2-10 said that the tech wasn't working with them anymore. He wasn't certified but that dude came two times. My warranty is over so I'll be canceling it. For $80 a month, I could've bought a refrigerator on my own. I ended up buying one. Initially, I had one of those French door types, where it has a bottom basket and those are a little bit more expensive than the side-by-side type. In 2-10's policy, they only provide something that would keep my food cold. The side-by-side refrigerators are at $1500 or $2000 but 2-10 sent me a check for 900 bucks.

2-10 has been fine, overall, but they need to review their contractor here in Charlottesville because they have been terrible. I'm still waiting for the contractor to schedule a time to fix the microwave and it's been almost two months. The door on our microwave was falling apart and the guys who came said they were coming around 4 o’clock, but they came close to 7:45 pm on a Friday evening. They were here until 11:00 and on a Friday evening, that’s not optimal. We had to stay at home and we couldn’t do anything. We couldn’t even have dinner until late because they were still repairing.

At the end of the evening, when they left, the microwave wasn’t working, so we were no further forward. They had to order parts, which came about two weeks ago, but they found that the parts were damaged. They had to send it back and order new parts, which arrived a week ago. 2-10 confirmed that it arrived, but I have not heard back from the local contractor and I have tried to call them at least daily. Their mailbox is full and I've not had any response from them. I've informed 2-10 that this week is the best week to have the repair done because we're gonna be away and traveling for the next two weeks. Without a functional microwave for more than a month, it has been pretty painful.

My Realtor selected 2-10 and added it to my home fee. I've had the home warranty for five years and they've been pretty good. It's very easy to make a claim. I’ve done it over the phone before and I’ve done it over the internet. I’m pretty satisfied with 2-10. There was a time that I had financial difficulties and had to have my payment date moved. As a courtesy to me, they moved the date which was very helpful.

The only glitch is 2-10 only has one plumbing company for my area, High Priority Plumbing. I had to keep calling and submitting a claim. It was like the technicians were fixing the same problem and that was kinda ridiculous to me. If they couldn't get the job done, could somebody else be sent? Apparently, no. I’m not trying to get a free toilet but High Priority Plumbing kept trying to fix or rebuild it. I was like somewhere along the line, my home warranty covers the toilet and it would seem like that it needed to be replaced.

I really didn't want to use High Priority Plumbing this go-around but the 2-10 rep told me that they were the only contractor for my area. But everything is working great now. They fixed the toilet this go-around. Unlike the case of my toilet though, when a guy came out and fixed my garage door correctly, 2-10 had somebody else that came out and they assigned me a different contractor.

The dryer is fine now. We have a little knocking but it's not like how it was. The knocking we had before was so bad and so the contractor had to put a block on it. So the knocking is calming down and everything is good. Also, when we called that claim in to 2-10, the representative I spoke to was real nice and respectful.

The motor of my attic fan was bad. Also, one of my ceiling fans stopped working altogether while another was making a bunch of noise. I submitted a claim over the phone to 2-10 and I got good feedback from their rep. Their contractor came out, analyzed the problem and came back four days later and they fixed it. The fans have been working fine since the repair. However, I'm considering going to a new warranty provider because my cost with 2-10 went from $40 a month to $75 a month at the end of my contract. It doubled and that's not good.

Thus far, I've had to file three claims with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They've come through on two out of three. With one claim, the air conditioner in the attic was leaking water through the ceiling. 2-10 said they wouldn't cover that issue because it was not wear and tear. Still, I had a claim for a washing machine problem which they fixed. I also had another claim for a hot water heater that went out. To 2-10's credit, they covered all of those minus my deductible.

With the water heater claim, the hassle I had was that the first two companies that got sent out got to my location and told me that they don't do tankless water heaters. The third company they sent wouldn't return my call. They promised to come out the next day before noon when they got sent but then they didn't. I haven't heard from them since. The fourth company 2-10 sent fixed the issue today. The contractors who have been sent are rough around the edges at times but that's not 2-10's fault. They seem nice and the reps of 2-10 have been great.

We live in a really, really old house and on the first day we moved in, our AC stopped working. We live in Texas and it was hot. It was crazy. 2-10 sent somebody out and they fixed it, and it worked ever since. Everyone that 2-10 has sent out to us for the AC and for the plumbing have been really great. We have an upstairs bathtub and it wasn't draining right. It was clogged and something was broken in it. The contractor fixed that but it ended up leaking into our kitchen from upstairs through the roof. They thought they fixed it and a couple of weeks ago it started doing the same thing. One guy came out the first time and he was super nice. He said, "If y'all run to anything, don't hesitate to call us back. We'll get it figured out." This past time, they still couldn't figure out 100% without removing our roof, but we weren't ready to do that yet. Then the guy called the owner of the place and the owner came out. They fixed it together and it was awesome.

2-10 could improve on urgency but I definitely understand where they have to get in touch with somebody and they have to get in touch with us. It's kind of a lot of hands in. At the same time, we've gotta wait and there are other people who have bigger problems. But we do like how every time I call, it seems like I'm the one and only concern they have. I do the claims over the phone 'cause it's easier for me and so I know someone on 2-10's end knows that I called. I can actually get somebody to talk to.

We already recommended 2-10 to so many people. Our friend just bought a house and I said, "Whatever your sellers do, don't let them pick anybody but 2-10. They're the best ones. We've had them and they're amazing." Then our other friend bought a house the same time we did, and it's kind of crazy 'cause our husbands are state troopers so they're always gone. Something always breaks when my husband’s leaving out of so many better days. I told them, "You need to just call the home warranty company we have and get a quote and see what it would cost y’all.” It doesn't cost us but 50 bucks a month and that saved us thousands and thousands of dollars. We're going on our second year with 2-10. The seller bought it the first year and in July, we renewed it 'cause it's been great.

Our bathroom toilet was leaking at the flange and we had no clue as to why because we don’t use that bathroom very much. We ended up putting in one of those blue bleach tablets and that’s how we saw the leak. We filed a claim with 2-10. The first guy came in and opened up the back. He said it was that blue tablet. He took our $100 and walked away. We freaked out because the leak was still there.

Getting the technician there was an issue in itself. The owner of the contracted company even reached out to my girlfriend and said he doesn't care about the customers. He even cussed her. The representative I was spoke with just to get the technician there was saying, “Oh, my God. How can you do this?” It was not wonderful just trying to get those people there.

We got our emergency plumber in there. He said there were two cracks. Once he went to take off the toilet, he found out that the flange was broken. He figured out that there were two supply lines that were also busted which ended exploding during the repair. That ended up costing us a whole lot. 2-10 reimbursed me half of it.

The contractor 2-10 got us didn't know what they were doing. I received a call three weeks later saying they were trying to schedule an appointment to fix our toilet. That was after they had already been there and after they had already called in the home warranty service. If I were in 2-10's situation, I would have probably cut them off as a vendor.

The situation got to the point where I couldn’t get ahold of anybody who could really do anything. That's why I ended up calling the representative for the area. He's the salesman who does all of Michigan and Ohio. I somehow found his information online and that was the only reason things got going because I called him, texted him then emailed him. I’m calling again. It was only then that I was able to get to Kalin. She was my client-care advisor and she got involved to clean up the pieces afterward. She was so nice. Everything was done poorly except for her. I just put in an electrical claim and it is a mess. We’re trying to get that done after this. We’re hoping this HVAC one goes a little bit better.

There was a leak and I called in for a claim. It was on a Sunday and the plumber came out that Monday. The plumber came immediately and fixed it, but then there was another leak somewhere else. The guy fixed two things, so we paid him $100 both times. So far, it went well. The leak was due to the air conditioner. So as long as the air conditioner doesn’t clog up again, it will be okay but I know that I can call 2-10 back if I do. I've been with them since 2000. When I call them, I always get pretty good service.

My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty originally started with the purchase of my first house. It was the warranty company that my builder was using back in 1999. It was a recognized name for me. So, that's why I decided to go with them again. However, I didn't have a good experience with them when it came to managing the AC unit that had gone out on a rental property. I had paid on it for a while. I needed them. They were saying something wasn't covered and I felt exposed. That kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.

I ended up going with 2-10 again accidentally but that worked in my favor. It seems like their claims process has improved. I understood more about their coverages once I had engaged them. Submitting claims online to 2-10 has been easy. When I call, I have a little bit of the wait though I don't think the hold time is bad.

I had a claim for my gas oven and the contractor they sent was solid. He came in early and did the job. He communicated the issue that he found, what he wanted to replace and said that doing that should correct my issue. He saw two items that were impacting my issue. He explained that technically, he could replace one but then, there would be a potential of me calling them back later on as the parts tend to go out in tandem. That tech did a very good job diagnosing and communicating what the diagnosis was and how it all worked together. I wish other people were as dedicated as he was.

Another time, there was a sprayer that broke at my faucet. There was a team that was supposed to fix it and the plumbers had contacted 2-10 and said would I have a problem paying an additional $75 fee because how much the part cost. They were there 'cause they had to fix my hot water. I don't know if the builder just set everything up for it to stop working at the same time. Now, I'm still dealing with water kinda shooting in my face from the thing that broke. I have to turn the sprayer away and I'm wondering if 2-10 or the plumber will ever call me back.

2-10's biggest challenge is that they need to make sure that they manage the communication of what's covered and what's not covered at the time when a person is purchasing their product. If they did that versus just trying to sell people, they would earn the trust of their customers better and they will have a reduction in a lot of noise around whether they pay or not pay. So, they need to increase the knowledge or training of their salespeople. Those salespeople need to know what they're selling so that when they're making their pitch, they also understand what's covered.

For example, I would like to have my AC unit covered. 2-10's salespeople would say that they cover that but then there is a premium product that I buy so that if the AC unit actually breaks, I can buy coverage through them to cover that. Instead, I purchased AC coverage thinking I have AC coverage but then what I have covers very minimal. I went into my most recent coverage with 2-10 more knowledgeable. Not every homeowner is gonna be like that. They're calling expecting the individual selling the product to have knowledge of what they're selling. Homeowners gotta do what's best for them. If they're looking for maximum coverage with minimum dollars, maybe it's best for 2-10's people to say that they can't really help the homeowner.

Other than helping their customers understand what they're buying, having 2-10 has been a very good experience. My house is only five years old and I've had a couple of issues that are unexpected issues. So far, 2-10 has been there. Before I would not have recommended them but my latest claims have been different experiences. They've been pretty responsive.

He filed his report and 2-10 called and told me the claim was approved, and to go pick out the fan I wanted, which I did. 2-10 gave me a $100 limit and I went and picked it out. It was $89+, under the limit, and it was almost identical to what we had. The repairman replaced the one with issue and we were so glad to be able to get it fixed because we hadn’t been able to find anybody that could. It sits over our dining room table and without a fan there, it’s a meltdown. So, we were very, very pleased. Our most recent claim was for a microwave switch. I submitted it online but I was having some issues so I called them up. It was late at night, though, and they were closed so I did the automated thing and filed it. My wife was here when the contractor came out and she was satisfied with everything. The tech came in, found the problem, and he had the part with him and he repaired it. The microwave has been working fine since then.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty's online process is easy. But one time, I had a busted pipe from the water meter to my house. 2-10 sent me the worst contractor I've ever met in my life. I called 2-10 yesterday and now, everybody's telling me that I'm responsible for the problem even though they were the ones who referred me that contractor. Their rep said that the contractor is not responsible. I’m gonna have to go and sue them with the contractor because when the contractor went to my location to do the job, they left a mess. They did not clean anything up and they destroyed a whole zone of my irrigation system. I've been trying to call the contractor but he does not return my calls or texts. It’s gonna cost me an extra $2,000 to fix something that was damaged because 2-10 sent me that specific contractor and I couldn’t choose. They’re the worst company I have ever dealt with because they're not responsible for who they sent.

I had the garbage disposal and the fan in the bathroom fixed through 2-10. Filing the claim with them was a pretty good experience. I called then they had somebody call me and they connected with us. The claims reps I talked to got the job done and the contractors were very fine. They always wore shoe covers to not mess up the house. But when the refrigerator icemaker broke, we had three visits from the people and they couldn’t fix it. They put all these parts on it but it’s still broken and they never called again. We’ll just wait until it quits and get another refrigerator.

When I've filed claims to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, their reps have been polite. Most recently, we filed a claim for our stove, half of which didn't work. Their contractor couldn't find parts though so 2-10 just wanted to give me $400 for another stove. But then, I couldn't find one for $400. I ended up taking the 400 and at the scratch and dent place, I found one for 700 similar to the one we had that didn't work. The new stove has been so-so since then.

I’ve been really dissatisfied with 2-10. Their overall wait times and response times are really poor. Submitting my claim to them online is easy. However, getting to talk to somebody, you have to wait 25 to 30 minutes which is really difficult for any working person like myself. I’m trying to see patients and talk to their families and not be tied up on the phone for 30 minutes waiting for somebody to tell me they were sorry that they couldn't help me.

I had a claim for the circuit panel and 2-10 sent out an electrician who seemed knowledgeable. He owned the company. He told me that the problem was coming from the line outside going into the house. I was told not to bother with Dominion and that they wouldn’t fix it because the problem went into the house. 2-10 would not pay for it either because it started on the outside. But the electrician could here the next day, a Saturday, and fix it for $700. My friend advised me to call Dominion first and I’m glad I did because they came out and they fixed the problem. They put a temporary line going to the house and restored my power. Had I gone with the electrician and done what he said, I would’ve been out $700 and the problem wouldn’t be fixed.

Also, later in the evening that the electrician came, I was here with a friend and we had just finished dinner. We had just been waiting all afternoon for someone to come out to tell me what was going on with the power. I had a couple of glasses of wine and I offered the electrician one. He took one. That’s neither here nor there, but if I were an owner of a company, I probably wouldn’t be taking an adult beverage from a potential client while I’m telling them what’s wrong with their power. I spoke on the phone with a woman from 2-10 and I told her about this electrician. She said she would have to transfer me to somebody else and make a formal inquiry or a complaint. She said they would follow it up. That was poor service.

When I called to see if I could cancel my policy with 2-10 and how much would be prorated to me, their rep told me $130. I asked how she was able to figure $130 when the warranty was $600 for a year. The rep said based on the service requests that I already put in, even though I’ve only had the contract less than two months, I would only be prorated back $130. I had two service requests which included the circuit panel. She said they had already paid the contracted company a couple of hundred dollars. There was also my service fee of $89. The second request was for the stove because when the power went out, it blew out the stove, the oven, the microwave, and the toaster oven. I lost $500 worth of food. There was no power for three days.

The refrigerator stopped cooling and I put in a claim. But the refrigerator started working again, so I canceled it. A week later, it stopped working again so I decided that it would be good to put in a claim. Then, 2-10 got a contractor to come and look at the refrigerator. They made an assessment and told me they were gonna research and get the parts. The contractor was very good. Later on, I got an email from 2-10 that I was eligible for a replacement. They offered me either a certain refrigerator model or the equivalent in cash. I took that instead of repairing the old one. It was fast and efficient. The check came in pretty quick, so that was a good service. The new refrigerator is scheduled to be installed this Sunday, so I'm happy. All in all, we've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for a couple of years now and it has been worth it every year.

I paid the whole thing out of pocket, and they refunded everything but 100 back. I had to call them back, and I had to go and sit through the same menu three times. They told me to call them back with a number and then, they would get on the claim before I paid the guy. Then, I called them back while he was there in the house. It took almost an hour to get a hold of them. So, I told him to go ahead and start. 2-10 told me that they couldn't do anything until after he gave me his final number after he was done. So, I had to hang up with them and let him finish. When he finished, I ended up having to wait another 45 minutes to talk to someone.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been a lot better. The first time, we had called them ‘cause we had just gotten into the house and we had a situation with the AC. The house was still fairly new, but we were needing service because the AC is out and we were having 98 temp days. But the representative was speaking too fast where my husband couldn’t get a word in. The rep just said that it would take 24 hours. They couldn’t get anybody out, but he put the order in and that we would get a confirmation. The house already came with 2-10, but I was ready to just to let them go and go with our previous home warranty people.

I called back and another representative had handled the situation better. Ever since then, the representative that we’ve had has bee patient. They’ve listened to our concerns and they have been very professional. With the claim for the electrical, the company had to come back out. We didn’t have to pay the service fee. But the company didn’t get the note saying that the service was gonna be waived. So, 2-10 contacted them and told them that they would pay for it. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty took matters in their own hand. So, I’ve been happy with them.

Apparently, the pilot was not turning on and when their contractor came out, they said that it didn’t work on that system and then he left. I just had too much going on and was not able to follow up to let 2-10 know. So far, the only bad experience I've had with 2-10 was the result of the sump pump work order that I submitted. Their contractor determined that it was not normal wear and tear and I disagreed on the assessment. It didn’t make sense to me and it ended costing me half a thousand dollars, which was pretty expensive. Nevertheless, I’ve had great experiences with the previous contractors.

We’ve had 2-10 for the entire time that we’ve been homeowners here and we had 2-10 when we owned our previous home in Maryland. The contractors are hit or miss. The most recent electrician that 2-10 sent us was excellent. The guy was young, he was hungry and really wanted to do a good job. He was up and coming within his profession, took it seriously and he did the darn thing. He didn’t have a part that he needed, he went to Lowe’s and bought it. He went and did what he was supposed to do and he was wonderful. The experience was everything we were accustomed to with 2-10.

On the other hand, the guy that 2-10 originally sent out came to our house and my husband and I saw him pull in the driveway, sat there for a few minutes, looked like he filled out a piece of paper and then he left. He didn’t come to the door nor ring the doorbell. I called the guy and told him to come back. He didn’t answer the phone and it went to voicemail. He didn’t come back and he didn’t call. These contractors get some kind of service fee if they come out and a person is not at home. So, he probably beat 2-10 out of a few dollars. If 2-10 paid him, they did so in error because we were sitting in the house, waiting for the guy to show up, and he didn’t even get out of his van. So, a few days later, I had to go back on the website and ask 2-10 to send somebody again.

2-10 does a pretty decent job with comprehensive coverage, especially if you avail yourself of some of the packages. We’ve got a hot tub in our house and other things, and 2-10 has the ability to cover that for you, so not every expense with the house is something you have to cover out of your pocket. They go a little bit further than some do. However, even if I have told them in the past that a contractor was no good, they would send the same person if I had another issue. I would tell them if the guy was either late or didn’t show, didn’t know what he was doing and how he made the situation worse but they kept sending him back out here.

Not everybody that 2-10 is sending to do the work is reputable and then, when you complain about it and they send the same character back out there again, it’s like they didn’t listen to you. So, that can be a frustration. 2-10 doesn’t have control over the quality of the contractors, but once I’ve told them this guy doesn’t know what he’s doing, they should either check it out or verify it. Nevertheless, everything is easy with 2-10. Everything is online, so convenience is there.

Submitting a claim online to 2-10 for a broken shower valve replacement was pretty straightforward. In about 48 hours, a Simply Plumbing Company came out for service. Though their contractor's professionalism was good, quality wise-, it took three scheduled appointments to come out prior to any work actually being done. They said they didn't want to negatively affect any of the other units in my condo complex, and potentially shorting out the hot water heaters when they cut off the main water supply to do the plumbing repair. I asked the HOA property manager, and she said that it had never been a problem. They’d never heard of that before. It sounded like it might’ve been an excuse to put the job off.

They had to cut open the wall to access the shower valve to replace it and turn off the water of the entire building. Because everyone had electric water heaters, they could potentially short those out and they didn't wanna be responsible for something like that. Still, now everything's fixed well. I enjoyed my conversations with the contractor. I had used them before for a grease clog and they were terrible. This time, they were very good when they did the plumbing valve replacement.

And then, they discovered that the problem wasn’t something that they did so they referred to another contractor in the area who worked on that type of system. It was a more serious problem than they originally thought. They thought it was just a replacement of a single unit, but it turned out to be a larger replacement. Then, I called 2-10's customer service back and asked what I should do.

The person I spoke with at that time tried to contact the electrician and got no response. I was told to find my own electrician and that I would have to go through a different procedure, which I followed. We had the electrician come to see what the problem was. Evidently, the outlet where the washer was connected, was also connected on to the wiring that took care of a part of the other part of the house. He said the washer drew enough power that it needs to be on a separate line. I have been reimbursed promptly by 2-10 and I was satisfied with that.

The freezer stopped freezing all of a sudden then on the regular refrigerator portion, the temperature was at 74. After I filed a claim, it took a week for the contractor to get out here. He opened the door, unscrewed some stuff and said that we would need to replace the entire fridge. I asked if he was sure and he said that usually, it's an internal sealed system leak. But I had never heard of that and I'm familiar with refrigeration repair. It seemed like he was out to try to get as much money as he could from the insurance, like a scam. That was the feeling I got because when he left, I didn't pay attention and there were some clips and screws left on the counter. I called the company back and I told them that he had not put my stuff back together. I asked if they could send him back over but they never sent anybody.

2-10 ended up sending me money for the claim but it was like $900 even though the fridge is worth $2,500. They said I could either get the cash and use it however I wanted and buy myself a new fridge or I could get a fridge replacement. I told them to just send me the money and I’ll just find another fridge. But if I wanted to get another KitchenAid, at least another $1300 was gonna have to be added to that. So we ended up getting something closer to the $1300 range. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend 2-10 to a friend because they were always there whenever I've called. When I needed something, they were very friendly.

I'm a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway, so I sell 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty to my clients. However, I was extremely unhappy with how my claim was initially handled. After the property was put under agreement, the water stopped being available inside the dishwasher which was quite sudden and obviously unexpected. So, I went to use the home warranty for that. The online process was fine and 2-10 dispatched a vendor rather quickly. I paid my $89, then the vendor came in, looked at the machine, and said, “Yup, it needs a new blah, blah, blah pump. I'm gonna order it right now from my truck." So I gave the $89 check and he left.

Three days later, I got a call from a gentleman at 2-10, saying the claim's denied because the vendor said that it was broken before the warranty was put in place. I said to him, "We didn’t have that conversation. How would the vendor know that? That's ridiculous." He said, "Well, that's what it is, that's what our record shows, so, the claim is denied."

So, I called back and a different girl confirmed that it showed that the dishwasher was broken before the warranty was put in place. I said that I could prove that that wasn't the case because I had a home inspection report wherein the dishwasher was working during the home inspection. The warranty was actually put in place previous to the agreement being signed, and then the inspection, in sequence. I could prove the date. She said she would check and when she came back, she said that the reason wasn't because the vendor said the dishwasher was broken before the warranty was put in place. It was because the parts are just regular wear and tear and they don't cover that. I asked, "Well, so, what do you cover?" She just said that that wasn't what they cover so the claim was denied.

Again, I was quite taken aback and aggravated, as one might imagine. I went and called our local rep to 2-10, who sells in our office. He did as he promised to get right on the phone and get attention to the matter, and it was then cleared up. I send in my home inspection report. They could see that it was working, and we proceeded. Apparently, the part was ordered. This took well over a month and the part supposedly has been received by the vendor. And then, the vendor wouldn't respond and come back out. And I said, "Well, great, what do I do now? Closing's coming up, I have no working dishwasher."

On the other end, 2-10 said they weren't really sure what to do and figured to just refund what's left of the fee that I paid for this and so I could buy a new dishwasher. I said okay. Then she said, "But this buys out your contract for anything else that breaks during the time period." Coincidentally, before that happened, we had an electrical storm which fried my microwave. This was in the same period, which then, I was just out of luck. So, I just went and spent 600 and some dollars on a dishwasher to be installed, and another $500 on a microwave that was fried by electrical storms. I was not a happy camper. Not all of it is 2-10's fault, of course, but it was quite a difficult situation. It was disappointing that it took that to get what I thought was fairly true to begin with. 2-10 should be well aware of this because I raised a stink after the face with the local rep.

I've been with 2-10 for almost 10 years now. I've kept them on and off, even at my previous home in Louisville. Then I’ve done it for this home from 2012. Most of the time, I do my claims on the phone with an automated system. The people I spoke with are reasonable. They're doing everything that they can. But it’s not like everything happens the next moment. Some things are done sooner, some things takes time.

With my recent claim, the microwave got bad twice. I don’t know what exactly is going on in there but maybe there's a power issue inside every time it goes off. Or maybe it’s a parts issue because our microwave took almost 15 days to get fixed. I have a replacement plan, and when it’s broken so many times, I’d rather do a replacement rather than fix the same thing. But I spent more on it and it’s also a nuisance because I got to be there at home for them to come during the second time. They said they couldn't do a replacement but they would just do a recall. I don’t have to be paying the $75. But the contractor seems to think that because they found a different problem. I thought it should be a very simple thing because I wasn't getting a full replacement anyway. I only get limited amount of money when I do the replacement.

I've had 2-10 home warranty since April and I filed a claim online for the water heater as it leaked. The claim process was really easy. While a contractor was out to my home in less than a week, it was more time than one would think for a leaky hot water heater. But it was in my garage, so it wasn’t a big deal. And the contractor who showed up was really good. They were fast and seemed like they knew what they were doing. I had copper pipes before and they went back to plastic pipes. I don’t know if that’s a normal thing, but I’m not thrilled about that. Other than that, it’s great now.

We got 2-10 when we first moved into our current home and we've been with them for five years. With 2-10, it's always fun trying to get appointments scheduled. It's kind of tricky trying to get somebody who can come out in a timely fashion. This time, we had a leak in our ceiling. The plumber came and did the repair. Because there was a piece missing, they considered it a modification and not a repair. They wouldn't cover the majority of it even though the piece that was missing has been missing for as long as the house has been in our name. That was a little irritating.

The gentleman did a physical test and a load of holes in the ceiling and the wall trying to find the location of the leak before he worked out where it was. We are trying to get those holes fixed. We have one scheduled service for next week. Initially, 2-10 kept putting it through to plumbers to do the repair because it was connected to the leak. But obviously, plumbers don't do drywalls so that wasn't getting very far.

There should be more understanding from the people as to what is actually needed and who does what. It took a while for 2-10 to establish who could do the job. You have to wait for a company to contact you and when they contact you, they need you to tell them about the claim. There should be more knowledge for the people in the 2-10 call center. Now, they are trying to get you to do things all online. It takes a really long time to get through to anybody in the office.

We had a few callouts for different things over the years. Generally speaking, every contractor who came out was really good. They were very helpful, they got the job done, and we never had any problems with them in any way. Some were better than others in their efficiency or their process. My only thing is that it is always different contractors all the time even when the claim is for same item. For example, our dishwasher quit two times over the years. Each time, it was a different person who came out and that person had no background and knowledge of what happened before. Luckily, I write things down and I was the one giving the contractor the information about what was previously done.

One time, we went with a different contractor. Our air conditioning backed up in the upstairs zone. It just wasn't working so the heat in the house was up at some ludicrously high number. The earliest anybody could come out was two weeks. We ended up getting an independent person to come out and that person had to jump through hoops. 2-10 said we can use our own person and they cover what they cover. We paid the contractor directly and he had to submit the information to 2-10. His comment was, "This is why I don't like doing jobs with insurance companies." It was almost like 2-10 was looking to try and find a reason not to cover stuff. Other than those, 2-10 is not awful. We've always had things fixed. It's just sometimes, it takes a bit of work to get them to do it.

2-10 was arranged as part of the purchase of our home. We've had coverage for over a year now. We've had a few claims and this past one involving the plumbing didn't go so well. When we flushed the toilet in our house, water came out of the base of the toilet. 2-10 sent out a plumber who resealed the bottom of the toilet, but it wasn't able to prevent the water from coming to the drain. The plumber said the best thing to do would be to buy a drain cleaner and see if that would work. We tried that and when it didn't work.

We contacted 2-10 and they made arrangements for somebody else to come out. But the company that they arranged to come out wasn't open on weekends. That was a problem because the problem got worse. Every time we flushed any toilet in the house, the sewage would start backing up into our bathtubs. The next visit was late in the afternoon on a Friday when I contacted the home warranty company for the second time. They said they had another company that would come out in two to four hours. That took me into the middle of the night on Friday which was four hours later. I called that company and got an answering machine. Since it was the middle of the night, everybody was probably asleep. I waited until morning, called them again, and that was when I found out they are not open on weekends.

I contact the home warranty company again and they said that they realized it was an emergency situation. They were going to put this back in dispatch and get somebody to contact me as soon as possible. A couple of hours later, I haven't heard anything. I called 2-10 back and they said it was in dispatch. I started talking to them about what would happen if I arranged someone who was out of network to come out and take care of the work. They started explaining that situation. I started working on finding somebody on my own to come take care of the work. 45 minutes later, I've got somebody here to take care of the problem. He called 2-10 for the authorization and that was something 2-10 said he needed to do. Everything was signed and I paid the bill.

The only problem was the bill was for $540 because it was a weekend and an emergency situation. The plumber got out here as soon as he could as I was paying a premium. I contacted the home warranty company and they say that per national standard, they were gonna pay $140 for the service. I got my 140 from them. I didn't mind putting the money upfront, but they talked to the guy and authorized the work he was going to do. But they were only willing to pay 25% of the bill. Before this issue, we didn't have any issue and complaints with the claims we put in with 2-10. But with my plumbing experience, I found that in an emergency situation, they can be difficult to work with. It seemed like they were dishonest about it all too besides just being incompetent.

My lighting fixtures worked when the contractor was here. But it’s not working now. It's a sensor that once it turns to dusk, the lights will come on. He fixed some wiring in there because something seemed to be off. The contractor showed me whatever the little boxes they have that covers it up. And we covered it up before he left. The light came on, because it’s not the bulb, and it’s not doing that now. So, it’s back to what it was doing before where no matter how dark it gets outside, that light remains turned off. And it's a LED light bulb, and it just got replaced in March. So, it’s the only one that’s not working. All the other LED light bulbs are working.

I went back into my 2-10 account because I tried to call, but the lines were busy. So, instead of being on hold, I just went back into that particular service and said there’s a problem with it. I figured that they will contact me again because I didn't change anything, saying, “Send a different person.” But no one has contacted me so far to say I need to contact the contractor.

I got a phone call from the plumber a couple of hours later, and they were scheduled to come out the next business day. The tech came early, which was great. He called us to see if we wanted him to stop by early and we did. He was a very nice guy. Everything got taken care of the same day. He did fix one thing, but the real problem that was causing the water on the ceiling wasn't a covered claim. It wasn't a plumbing issue, but it was sort of the grout was starting to separate, and so water is going through the wall.

The contractor 2-10 sent was one of the worst contractors I've ever met. He was in here for about five minutes. He had a little flashlight and he kinda looked under my cabinet, looked around, wrote up a report and said they would have to send it in to 2-10 and that he would be seeing me. I didn't see him take any pictures. I was like, "Is that all? Is that all you need?" He said yes and that he needed to collect the $100. So I wrote him a check and he asked me my check number. I gave it to him and he was gone. Well, that was nice.

I'm also a little upset with 2-10 because we had the thing break once before. It split all the way from one corner to the other. Sears people came out and the guy knew right away what it was. This time, instead of splitting, it made an arch sort of crack then as soon as anybody touched it, it all fell in on that right corner. Several pictures and several phone calls later, the department that reviews all that kind of stuff decided that it was broken instead of a crack and that I had dropped something on it. I assured them that I didn't. I rarely even cooked on that stove.

That morning, I heated my kettle of water and about three hours later, I heard a pop. There's a highway close to us and we can hear the trucks. If they blow a tire, it sounded like that. So I didn't really give it much thought. That night, I went into the kitchen to do something and I noticed it. Because we have an autistic grandson and an 18-month-old grandson who come and stay with us a lot, we went ahead and took all the pieces up and put them aside into a little tray thing that I have. That's why they said they couldn't reconstruct it. So they couldn't see where an impact point was.

They said they were just gonna send us a check for 700 and something dollars to do the thing and we said okay so my husband went ahead and took it apart then. That was when we started finding out that the little ceramic-type circles around it had cracked. That was one thing I pointed out to the serviceman. But he told me that it was just an expansion joint. When my husband got home and I was telling him about it, he said it was not an expansion joint, it was a crack. My husband is a civil engineer so he knows stress cracks. So I decided to call Frigidaire who is the maker of the unit. The lady said they don't put expansion joints in the stoves and she said if it were an expansion joint, it would be an actual opening with a straight cut in it.

We also found out that there were three more in that one and then in the other burner. My husband looked at the bottom of the piece and there were scorch marks on the bottom of it. There was obviously something that was causing it to leave the scorch marks. I'm wondering if 2-10 needs to reevaluate the contractor a little better. When I looked up the gentleman that they had sent out, his reviews were 1-star's.

We even spoke to the realtor and the realtor spoke to their 2-10 rep, and they both couldn't understand why 2-10 was not covering it. We also had a problem about two months earlier with them not wanting to replace our air conditioning system. The air conditioning company that we had hired recommended that they replace but all 2-10 wanted to do was fix it. The air conditioning people told us it was not gonna last that way. So we made the decision to go ahead and replace it ourselves. So with those two things, we felt like it's not worth staying with 2-10.

We filed a claim to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for a water heater issue. It was our first time being homeowners and we paid a bit more so we didn’t have to pay much on the deductible. It was a weekend and we were told that we would not get anyone out until a business day. Apparently, the Sheetrock intersects at that point where the splashing was still getting up on the Sheetrock even though our foundation comes up about a foot from the heater. But we were told that it wasn’t an emergency because it was in the garage and that it didn’t pose a threat to the foundation.

We had to go all weekend with a leaking water heater. We had someone come out and did a survey, and they were gonna submit everything back to the warranty. But that information never made it to where it needed to get to. The plumber called and said that they had everything that they needed to do the install, they were just waiting on the warranty company to give them the green light. Almost a day or two after that, we still haven’t heard anything. And so, we called 2-10 and were told that the plumber did not have everything and that it would still be another day or two. I explained that that was incorrect because I just got off the phone with the plumber.

We had to go through all of that so it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I didn’t understand where the breakdown kept coming from, or why one person didn’t know what the next person was doing. In the end, it was resolved and the company that came out that did the work was pleasant. No hard feelings there. It was just the fact that we had to go longer than we had wanted to with a leaky water heater. It could’ve been resolved quicker. So far, everything is okay now.

We also had a problem with the dishwasher, and had a claim submitted with them. A guy then checked the dishwasher out in every way and was there for quite a while. He was a problem-solver. He said it was the water supply. Somehow, the water supply got disconnected from the electricity. 2-10 then sent an electrician, and it took him a while to solve it, but he fixed it. And now, our dishwasher works fine. We were very pleased with the independent contractor 2-10 sent. We kept his card, because if we had something that doesn’t require the home warranty, we might use him again.

We've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty on our property for a few months now and as brokerage owners here locally, we also recommend it to our clients. However, the last service call did not go the way I would have liked it to go. Our HVAC unit was not working and something happened 30 days prior. I did go over the phone to file the claim, which is what I usually do as it’s easier for me to get in touch with a person versus doing it online. 2-10 dispatched the same company and when I got on the phone with the company, they said that they are no longer taking any calls from 2-10 because of the change in the payment structure and also because of trying to collect reimbursement on the back end. So, they were denying coming out, even though they were on the roster.

And then, 2-10 dispatched another company and since that was a Saturday, that company wasn't open and would not be open until 9:00 AM on Monday. So, the first company that was on the roster that was denying the call said they could come out the very next morning, on Sunday morning. I called back in to 2-10 and I explained the situation. They said that I can do that, but it’ll be subject to the reimbursement guidelines. So, I went out of network and when I got the work done, the bill was for $281. The company charged a service call fee to go out, which is $100, and the work was $181. When I called the 2-10 claims department and when everything was said and done, I was only gonna get $21.

The way that the lady from 2-10 explained it to me was because their payment structure would’ve allowed for $121, that I would have been responsible for the 100 service fee, and then, the $21 would’ve been the remaining balance and that’s what I could’ve gotten reimbursed, which really wasn't worth my effort at that time. It was a frustrating experience overall because air conditioning in the heat of South Carolina in the summer is ridiculous. And I was right between a rock and a hard place. I had someone willing and able to get there, and then, I had a company that couldn't come out for 48 hours. So, that was the situation I was in and I was not too happy. Nevertheless, the reps I spoke with in the past have been helpful.

When we picked up our house, it came with a 2-10 warranty. I do my claims online and the process is easy. We've been covered since 2017, and based on a couple of experiences we had, we kept it. We also asked a couple of vendors, and they said they preferred to work with 2-10. We've only had one bad experience since that time. I put in a claim for a refrigerator as it was leaking water, and a tech ended up replacing a part at the back of the refrigerator. However, the contractor has horrible customer service. The first guy that came in just looked at it and said it needed to be replaced, and it was gonna take forever so we needed to see them on a Saturday, which was fine. He said he was gonna order the part.

Nobody called me for three days so I called them back and asked what was going on. The lady I was speaking to said that she hadn’t called me back because they didn't have the part. I then asked if she had any idea when they were gonna get the part and she was like, “I don't know, but you’re on my list. When we get it, I’ll call you.” They didn't get the part until Wednesday, and they fixed it on a Saturday. So, it took a week. Though the lady was rude, the technician was fine.

I’ve been using and selling 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for 10 years. I'm a realtor and I buy one for every one of my listings. I like 2-10's price. Since I was buying it, I wasn’t going to spend $600 when I could get one for $350. I buy it the first year for my clients. It’s up to them to renew them. What I do gives the buyers peace of mind because once they close, it transfers for them to one year from the closing date, so a lot of the buyers like that aspect of it. And I’ve had a number of people renew them after the first year, so apparently, they're satisfied with them.

I had a claim on a house that I had listed and I got listing coverage for the house. And the water heater was shot in the house, so I had the owner of the house make the claim. And there wasn’t a service person within 75 miles of where we live. What I was told by whoever was handling the claim was that I could go ahead and get a local plumber to do it. And they said it would be under $1,000. But that didn't happen. It was $1,250, but 2-10 said, “Go ahead and do it,” so I got the plumber out here. I paid the plumber myself and I submitted the invoice to 2-10. And within a week, I was reimbursed, so I was very happy about that.

When I list the house, I get the $489 coverage for my clients, but it’s in my client’s name. So, if anything comes up on a home inspection, I have them make a claim provided it’s covered. A water heater that has died is definitely covered. Oftentimes, my clients are out of state, so I’m the one that coordinates all the repairs and meets all the technicians. And a lot of times, I’m the one that pays them and then somebody reimburses me.

2-10's contractors have done fine. I had one about a year ago, and there was some things that needed to be adjusted and repaired on the stove. And they sent somebody from Sears out to do it, and he got it done. And I paid the deductible to that guy, and then my client reimbursed me for that because he was living in Oklahoma. Luckily, I have trustworthy clients.
