I purchased a Vizio 65" 4K smart TV. At first it worked fine, but within 30 days with no changes to the TV or anything I had plugged into it, the screen suddenly stopped working. Fortunately the TV was still under warranty, and I was brought a new TV with a home installation (but this was about two weeks later!). Now, about a year and a half later, the screen on the newer TV is completely messed up to the point where it cannot be used. This happened suddenly, overnight, with no physical changes whatsoever.

It took me about five days of going back and forth with support. They kept asking me to send in things like proof of purchase and pictures of the problem. The support staff themselves were polite and easy to work with, but their support system was very frustrating and many times I would have to call in to get a confirmation email that I could respond to instead of working with their existing system. Finally, they confirmed the issue as a "paneling issue," and since the TV was not under warranty anymore, there was nothing they could do. Meanwhile, my 10-year-old Toshiba CRT is still working great. There's a reason why Vizio is a cheaper brand. Don't waste your money and effort. Spend a little bit extra to get a TV from a better brand that is going to last longer.

Purchased TV Oct 16/2013... March 2016 started getting black wide horizontal lines across screen. My warranty plan wouldn't fix because it would cost more than I paid for TV. They paid me what I paid for TV originally, so that was a great deal for me. Adjusted set so I could have a more watchable screen. Nov 2016 - a little over 3 yrs and screen went totally black. It's 2016, TV's should last longer than 3 or 4 years. Thank GOD I had that warranty plan.

Recently ordered a TV which I paid $1189.45. When I open the box find that the screen is broken. I call Vizio and make a case. After about a week they call me and only can offer a discount on a second tv. They say that I signed delivery sheet that states item is in good condition. For my understanding delivery is signature required so I need to sign for the package. Don't buy from Vizio. They have no customer service. This was my first and last purchase.

I bought a Vizio at Walmart 4k Led and 35 days later it stopped working. I called Vizio and they claim #1 service satisfaction. I spoke with three personnel. The first was rude and stated there was nothing they could do, I called right back. The 2nd lady was more generous and said "yes ma'am. Scan your receipt and we will send you a new tv, call back tomorrow and we will finish the transaction." I called today the guy said "based on the type of problem we will send a repair guy to you in 7-10 days." Oh lordy what. Don't buy a Vizio (the warranty huh they are giving you a recycled TV). I have had two of these TVs fail within 2 years each. The first one I was able to get Walmart to replace, the second one also failed and Vizio would do nothing but sell me another. Vizio made me feel I should be lucky the TV had been replaced and I got 4 years service out of them. Yes, thanks to Walmart they did replace my first one, but Vizio did nothing. This company sells JUNK and I would never, ever buy any Vizio product again. All Vizio does is contribute to our landfills here. If you see Vizio in the store... Run, fast.

This issue took place over the course of 1.5 months+. I was sent all around the world every time I called and was put on hold for way too long. The only case notes kept were from my first email chat with support. Some days I had a nice customer support helper, others I had condescending, rude, and unhelpful individuals and managers. Offers I was made on a replacement TV after they did nothing to help me with options to repair my original TV were never documented in case notes and denied by managers. Their teams seem to NOT communicate in any way. After this, I will never purchase another product from VIZIO and this less than helpful customer support. They boast of being 'American' support, and that is clear because they are rude, unhelpful and slow. Again, to avoid the headaches on the cheap TV you buy that will break, buy another brand. Seriously.

Had nothing but issues with this TV. I would be watching tv and for no reason the screen goes black. I have to completely shut it down and or at times even unplug the tv and the cable box hence the cable then has to reset as well. When I google what causes this it seems I'm not the only one with vizio issues. I've tried everything google states to try including but not limited to turning my remote away from the tv. As stupid as this sounds! Thankfully my birthday is near and I'll be getting another new TV. My order is for any brand But Vizio. The smart tv part also has issues that when I'm watching YouTube, amazon, etc the tv buffers. Once again I have to shut it down and reset the tv. Nightmare!!!

Purchased a tv in 12/2015. Within 10 months, there was a horizontal green line across the bottom half of the screen. Was first told to send it in for repairs but then received a second call stating it was "Defective" and could not be repaired. They were going to send me a recertified tv (the term they use instead of refurbished) which is a tv that is sent back to their warehouse for various reasons and can't be resold as new. I asked for the replacement to be a new tv, since the one I purchased was new, and they have deemed it is defective. I had not misused or damaged the tv so I didn't understand why I was getting a used/repaired tv. All they could say was that's what their warranty states. The executive resolution team had the same scripted response so I said I wanted documentation as to what was done to the replacement tv they were going to send me and he said he couldn't provide that to me.

Now, I'm waiting for his supervisor to call me regarding this. If they are sending me a used/refurbished tv, I should be able to know what was done to it and how many repairs were made on it. So, I paid full price for a new tv that I got 10 months of usage out of and will now own a used one that they will only warranty for 90 days. I'm disappointed in the way they handle their customer service issues. They do not stand by the quality of their product, so I will not buy anything Vizio in the future.

Bought Vizio 55" TV 21 months ago, less than 2 years old. Took me and my husband quite a while to save up for this tv. This week the screen went black. Good sound, no picture. Called vizio tech support. First person wanted to sell us another tv for a special price. We paid $626.00 for this tv and they would give us a deal for $500.00. Where are we suppose to get $500.00 just like that. The tv was less than 2 years old. Called the next day and the woman I talked with was so rude. "Just buy a new tv" she said "because we can't help you". Did not want to help us. If you unplug the tv for a while it starts working again for about an hour and then the screen goes black.

I thought companies would stand behind their products. I have read reviews all morning about different brands of TV's and they all read the same. Bad products and bad tech support. What are we suppose to do as consumers trying to buy a good product that will last a little longer than two years. Complaining does not seem to help. Who is going to stand up for our rights. We don't have $600.00 sitting around to just go out and buy another tv. This is our only entertainment. After working all day we expect to come home and watch a little tv. We already cut the cord with the cable company. Using an antenna and watching a little Netflix. Try to cut back all we can and all we get when we complain is to just go out and buy another tv.

Tell me which brand can we trust. Everything I have read about all the different brands are bad. Vizio is the worst. We want Vizio to know how hard it was for us to come up with the money to buy their lousy tv. The money was not handed to us without a lot of hard work behind it. The tv was less than 2 years old. The companies should be made to compensate us for something. Knocking off a hundred dollars does not work. What about the $626.00 we paid for a tv we thought we could enjoy for more than just 21 months.

Vizio needs to stand behind their products and be made more accountable. I thought you were a good company but you proved me wrong. Was telling everyone what a great tv we had. Even in the stores when people were looking at tvs we recommended your product. Now we will be telling everyone to stay away from Vizio. Hopefully every chance we get we will make it a point to go to the electronics department and tell everyone looking at tvs to stay away from Vizio. We will make it our mission to let everyone know what a lousy tv vizio makes and what kind of people you have working for you. If we can stop just one sell of your tv we will.

It starts with the little man making his protest to make a big difference in this world. This is why I read reviews on all products before I make a purchase. Some of you out there do make a difference. Keep up with the reviews so we can make these companies know that we work hard to buy their products and we're not going to sit back and let them take advantage of us anymore. The consumer keeps these companies going and if we complain enough and stand up for our rights maybe they will not take advantage of us anymore.

I purchased a 55" Vizio TV at Costco with the 2 year warranty. The first TV went out in 6 months - it was a lemon. Vizio replaced it with a "refurbished TV" - which is absolutely a scam. Anyway, the "refurbished TV" went out in 18 months. I called Vizio and Costco and they told me that the 2 year warranty was expired by THREE WEEKS! They explained that the warranty period doesn't apply to the TV but is calculated from the date of purchase of the first TV. I've since found out that Vizio ordered a recall of many of their TVs for a "bad-chip assembly" which causes the screen to go black - exactly what happened to my TV. Yet, they will not refund my money, nor replace my TV. Do not buy this brand!!!

We bought our TV less than 6 months ago from Walmart and already we have problems. The TV turns off outta nowhere, the remote don't work, it won't turn on half of the time, and the sound also goes in and out. It also goes crazy like clicks on apps when nobody is even around the remote. We have had these problems about a week after purchasing the TV.

I also do not recommend buying this brand of TV. I haven't called to complain yet but I do plan on it first thing in the morning. Although I have very lil confidence that they will do anything after reading tons of reviews. I also plan on contacting the BBB after contacting Vizio if I don't like what they say. I think everybody who has a horrible experience with this piss-poor brand should do the same because something has to be done. As far as I'm concerned this company is a scam. Also these people should be ashamed of themselves for treating people the way they do and pretty much taking advantage, and stealing people's money. Neighbors gave me their non-working 70" E701i-a3 and said it went black but still had sound and if anyone wanted it and could get to work and use it could have it, so I picked it up and researched the model so I could buy the part. After researching it was a model that was issued a recall in 2014 so I called Vizio and they said the model was given an extended warranty but the one I had was 6 months past that and said I could get a discount. They transferred me to another rep and I explained it was given to me by my neighbor and if there was anything they can do to help me get the part to get it fixed.

Well after a few days and to my surprise they actually were sending me a refurbished replacement and asked if that was o.k. Since it was given to me I had no complaints. Not sure what to expect when I get it but after reading these negative reviews and them offering the replacement I can't give a negative review because you have to try until you get the right rep on the phone. Some reps don't care and just read a script. I have Vizio soundbars and anytime I have had issues they always take care of me, it takes some doing but it gets done. If you want a brand that will last or take care of their warranty I recommend LG, they are good TVs as well. I can't say Vizio yet because I have not tested the refurbished tv and even if the refurbished breaks I can't really care because it was given to me. But overall Vizio does have reps that can help and who care, you just have to call a few times until you get one.

Get a load of this! We purchased a 70" Vizio TV in January 2014. In July 2016 (2.5 years later), our screen went black. After some research, and attempted fixes (including $100 in new parts), we learned that it was a faulty panel, and fixing it would cost more than purchasing a new TV. This was a known issue with these TVs and Vizio had increased the warranty from 1 to 2 years. So we just missed it. The only thing they offered to do for us was to sell us a newer model TV at a slightly discounted price. They offered us a $1,600 model for $1,200. This was at the end of July, and we were in the process of moving. We were already under contract for the sale of our house so there was no point in installing a new TV in a house we would be shortly leaving.

I asked if we could wait to purchase the new TV after we moved. The answer was no, it was a one time offer (I learned today that this was probably not true. That the offer stands as long as supplies last. Would have been nice to know 2 months ago). I asked if we could have it shipped to my in-laws, who live 10 minutes from our new house, instead of shipping it to our old house. The answer was no. They had to ship it now, and ship it to the address on file attached to the credit card.

The TV arrived in late July/early August. It stayed in the packaging, and we put it in a storage unit until we bought our new house on September 30th. We then moved it to our new house along with everything else. On Sunday, October 2nd, we unpacked the TV and set it up. There were no visible cracks on the screen, but there is damage somehow. The whole top of the screen is damaged, as well as some damage along the sides and bottom corner.

I spoke to Vizio, took pictures, and documented the dates and everything. They are saying, that since so much time has elapsed, that although it's entirely possible that it was shipped with the damage, or the damage happened in shipping, we can't prove it and too much time has passed to file a claim (although nothing else was damaged in our move). So, since they insisted that we couldn't purchase the TV after we moved and have it shipped to our new address (supposed one time offer), and had to have it shipped to the billing address and not to the in-laws house 10 minutes from our new house, we left it in the original shipping "too long", and now we're screwed.

We have spent over $3,000 on TVs in less than 3 years and neither of them now works, despite the fact that we have taken perfect care of them. And on top of it all, the managers at Vizio have been extremely dismissive, and just short of rude. Lots of "I'm sorry you feel that way" type stuff. When I mentioned I would be filing a complaint to BBB and/or Consumer Affairs the response was "Well, I'm one of the few people here that deals with those complaints and I'll tell you now our answer won't change". We don't have a lot of nice things, but a nice TV is something we splurged on. Twice. And now we have a broken TV that we're still paying off.

When he was done I helped him put it back on the wall. I proceed to plug it in. It comes on. He goes, "Was that already cracked?" I said, "No, it was not. Nothing was wrong it." He says, "Ima call it in and tell them it was an on-site break." I said, "OK yeah 'cause you broke it not me and I would like a new TV." I go through all the steps -- the pictures, the email call -- to where they finally call me and again I explain, and at the end of the conversation the guy on the phone says, "Well I don't think he did it." VIZIO-50" M50-C1 - Had the television since 8/26/2015, and about a month ago the tv started with vertical colored lines. Then the screen would go blank, with sound but no picture. Called VIZIO and they gave me a bunch of suggestions, which none corrected itself. I even called the cable company. The cable tech said it's the television not the cable, so VIZIO said take a picture of the problem when it occurs and send it them, which I did. It took them several weeks to send a tech out with another tv (rectified). After watching the tv for about an hour, I smelled an odor through the top vents, so don't know if this tv is gonna make it to the 90 days of the warranty?

We called them back again and of course had to run all of the same tests and now they say it is a firmware problem! They said there isn't anything we can do to fix it, but will need to call a repair place. We spent extra $$ to buy a "good" TV, so glad we got our money's worth. A year and a half, what a deal! March 2016, I bought a Vizio soundbar from an eBay retailer. It stopped working after 6 months. I contacted Vizio tech support to start the process. I followed their procedures and provided them with a screenshot documenting the proof of purchase. They accepted, and replied with a case number and a phone number to continue. Contacted them again, they REQUIRED me to try troubleshooting using Bluetooth connectivity to see if it was still malfunctioning. Ok, so I did. Same results. I called a second time, they claim the proof of purchase I uploaded the first time didn't have enough information and required more info. So, I uploaded a screenshot of a different screen from eBay that included the seller's name, price, date of sale, etc, all the details they required. Again, I received a reply that included my case number and the same phone number to call to proceed with tech support.

I call, they place me on hold multiple times, as they browse through the notes. They come back on the call and ask if the seller is a "company" or a "person"...back on hold. After five more minutes and apologizing for the wait, they state this case would "ordinarily be subject to warranty replacement or repair at this point," but cannot honor the warranty of their product because the eBay seller I bought it from is not an authorized Vizio reseller. They cannot "verify the chain of custody" and thus "have no idea what happened to it after the eBay seller bought it from Sam's Club." I don't care if 50 people bought and sold it before me, a defect is a defect. Honor it, and it's for this reason I will NEVER recommend another Vizio product. All that, for a $90 soundbar. You're welcome, Vizio.

I purchased a 4K Vizio Smart TV in February of 2016. In July of 2016, I started having problems with the TV. I turned the TV on in the morning and it was working just fine - the screen/picture was perfect. I ran a few errands and came home later that day and when I turned the TV on, there was a black circle in the lower left hand corner, right above the power indicator. Upon further inspection, I found that the metal frame of the TV was singed and had melted a bit, and the screen had some tiny cracks right above this.

I immediately took pictures and began a live chat with Vizio tech support. I emailed them pictures and received an email in reply asking me to call their customer service. I did this and the tech looked at the pictures and said that he had never seen anything like that before, so he needed to speak to his manager. When he returned to the phone, he informed me that the damage had been caused by an impact and was not covered under warranty (please note, this TV is mounted on the wall - the bottom of the TV is 4 feet from the floor. Nothing touched this TV). So the TV that I purchased less than 6 months prior was junk.

Since the black circle was only about the size of a quarter, I decided to keep using the TV (I don't have another $650 to go out and purchase another TV). It worked alright, and the circle even got smaller and almost disappeared. Then about 2 weeks ago, these horizontal, flickering lines started appearing on the bottom of the screen. The longer the TV is on, the higher up the screen these lines stretch. If the TV is on for an hour or more, the lines reach halfway up the screen.

I again started a live chat with tech support, but they would not even discuss the problem with me because the TV has already been damaged. Stay away from Vizio - there is a reason they don't stand behind their product. Additionally, I only gave this product one star because you have to give a rating to submit a review... My personal opinion is that this product/company deserves no stars.

What it really says on the box is that it is APP enabled meaning yes its cool I can use a smart phone to access my TV, Not that you can ONLY access the menu settings via the smart phone app. My suggestion to Vizio is to install a menu button on their remote to remedy the problem. Bad design flaw is all that the issue is. Simply put could all be solved even with a firmware update to have multiple buttons being depressed to access the menu feature.

I've been recommending Vizio sets for years. When a friend bought a new 70" model at Costco, he soon discovered it had no over-the-air tuner, something that has been standard in TV sets since the 1940s. He had to buy a separate after-market tuner that cost $50 and looks very ugly. Vizio justifies omitting the tuner by claiming that 'only 10% of people' watch over the air and it adds unnecessary cost to each set that most users won't use. This 10% number is old... it's much higher now that many people are cord-cutting. They also say this set is a 'Home Display' and touts it's 'tuner free'. Legally they can't call it a TV. Vizio does not deserve your business for this deception. They are a huge disappointment to me and I will never recommend them again.

From where I came from, I never got a clue nor did I know what the credit card system was and I never needed or had to have a credit card or a credit score to be able to make purchases in life until I arrived in the United States. It's so hard to get and/or rent a damn house without being faced or bombarded with credit score or credit history interrogations. So as a new comer, I decided to open a credit card with Capital One and start building the damn credit score. When I called Capital one, the only option they had for me was a secured credit card. And I had to put my own money into it to start building my credit score. I did in the tune of $700.00

So on top of my own money I put with them, I get charged $29 annual fee and $14 up, monthly interest fee and if I ever forget any due date I get charged an extra $19...on my own money I put with them. My own $700 I put with them and I certainly understand that Capital One uses my money for business but nooo my $700 have never incurred any interest in for me. In a world of fiscal norms how can you keep using my $700 doing business with, but I don't get interest from it but I you get charge me interests anytime I used it.

The worst thing is that for the past 4 years plus that have been with you Capital One, they had denied all my many applications I submitted to them to give me a normal Capital One credit card that they have been giving to so many other people across America. But Capital One said no to me based on the very reason I came to them to establish a credit at the first place, because I am new in America. I feel so angry and abused by Capital One. And all I want now is close that credit card account. What do you think? And I want interest on my money I put with them...If not...

I got the TV on the next day and reset it as instructed. My TV immediately went out and will not come on at all. The "on" indicator light in the front fades out with no sound, no picture. I called tech support again. They kindly "offered" to have their company come out and fix it for more than $300!! Outrageous. Um, no thanks Vizio. I will not hand you any more of my money for your subpar products that you don't stand behind. And thanks Vizio tech support lady for completely breaking my TV!

About 6 months ago I purchased a Vizio Soundbar system that came with a soundbar, a subwoofer, and two smaller speakers. Everything was great until a couple of months ago, when I would sit and watch tv, and the volume would gradually start drop on the soundbar. Called Technical Support. The lady there was very nice and did a soft and hard reset and it was working great. Then it started to happen again a month or so later. I called technical support back.

COMPLAINT PART: The man I spoke with was very nice and tried to do another reset and resolve the issue, but we soon figured out that since it was under warranty, would need to send a replacement out. So, after they mail me a replacement box, which would take at least 3 - 5 business days, I would need to send it back to them, yet again, another couple of days. Then they would send me out my replacement soundbar system. That's right, another 3 - 5 business days. The process should take about 2 weeks. What happened to customer service? Why did I pay good money for a product and it fail, and I have to wait for Vizio to fix it? An unreasonable amount of time in my opinion.

I purchased a Vizio 75 M75-c1 4K HD LED Smart TV on 03/06/2016. I bought this TV from Sams Club. Now at the May 2016 I started to experience problems with the TV. Once the TV was turn on, the HDMI would lose signal repeatedly. I tried different inputs and noticed that on HDMI 4 and 5 were the most frequent. While the TV was on I could see the picture but could not hear the sound or I would hear the sound and no picture (black screen or screen skipping). I would get a strange discoloration of the entire TV.

When I purchased the TV from Sams, I purchased a Protection plan, and the TV came with a 1 year warranty from Vizio. The only downfall for me was that my protection plan doesn't take effect until my 1 year warranty expires with Vizio. So this is where all my headaches began, by having to call Vizio. Once I noticed all the problems with my TV in May, I had no choice but to contact Vizio. They sent out a technician to look and repair what they believed the problem was. A month later the TV was back to acting up. I called Vizio again on 06/14/16 and was told that they would be replacing my TV. So I thought great, this was a quick response. I was told that my TV would be replaced in no more than 10 business days, and I would receive an email with all the details. I never received an email.

I called Vizio again, and was told that the representative that took my call wrote down the claim wrong and left out some important details. I was then told that the TV was going to be expedited, and I would have my replaced TV within 10 days. This never happened. It is now 07/13/2016, and Im still waiting on my TV. I have been in contact with Vizio weekly with no avail. Vizio contracted Manna Distribution Services in Dallas, Texas. I had to contact Manna and vizio multiple times to find out what was going on. I was schedule a delivery for 06/30/16 and again 07/09/2016, and was stood up. No one showed up. I had to leave work earlier and cancel a job, just so no one to show up.

This was after an email and voice mail confirmation of delivery time and date. I had to contact Manna and Vizio to figure out why no one showed up. Both companies have the rudest customer service personnel. Manna nor Vizio understood what was going on with my Delivery and it took days to figure out that Manna stated that they sent the TV back to Vizio per Vizio's request, and Vizio stating that Manna had the TV in their warehouse. I called Vizio for some type of resolution. I spoke with a manager named Marshall which he gave me the same run talk everyone one else was telling me.

Then I spoke to another Manager in the Executive Resolution group named Jamison at ext: 3109. He was by far the rudest person I spoke to. He should not be allowed to speak to customers. I suggested a new TV or a refund. Of course they refused a refund; I was told today that Manna would contact me to schedule another delivery date. All this for a TV that I thought was a good TV. I will never in my life buy a Vizio product, nor will any of my family members or friends. No matter how good the price might be.

I called Vizio, was on hold for 30 minutes, and was told the motherboard they use has defects and would need to be replaced. So why would they sell a TV knowing the main board is defective? All I had to do was show him the problem and he replaced the motherboard (for free!!!) - and it has worked wonderfully for 4 years since! I use it as my computer monitor everyday and it is so clear whenever anyone else uses it they always comment on how nice it works (and the feed is via RGB cabling not HDMI). HDMI is great for cable tv or broadcast tv, but there are some issues when used as a computer monitor - but that is another story & not inherent to the actual tv itself... the HDMI issues arise out of how a PC outputs the signal, so they would be apparent on any brand of HDMI tv!

The only thing, they said, was to have their tech company do repairs for $379. I spent almost a month going between Vizio and the tech company. Finally, we got a tech person out and the TV still crashed after the repair, except this time we had colored lines all over the screen. Vizio continued to insist this was a real repair issue. All doublespeak to me. In my opinion, Vizio won't stand behind its product; customer support is trained only to tell you they really can't do anything; and the managers give you the same company line. I question their product at this point and wondered what are they going to do. She told me that they would send someone to fix the TV, I was getting a little annoyed at this point because they would not replace the TV. She stated that free replacement only happens in the first 30 days. I asked how long would it take to get a repairman out to look at it. She told 3 to 5 business days, man now I'm really annoyed at this point. So I wait my 3-5 days and nothing.

I called back and spoke to someone else and I didn't like what they had to say so I wanted to speak to a manager. He got on the phone and he danced around and finally got to tell me how it works. They try to fix over the phone and when that doesn't work they tell you someone will be out there to fix but in reality they already know what the problem is. The manager stated that "it takes 24 to 48 hours to process your claim then 2 to 3 days to ship the parts then a couple of days to set up a repairman." I asked him "How do you ship parts if no one has looked at it," he stated that "There is only 4 parts in your TV." So they replace all 4? My next questions was "Why can't you overnight the parts?" He said "We don't have that agreement with the shipper"??

If you listen to their recording while you are on hold it states that they have award winning customer service! Which in my opinion they do not and by the other reviews I have seen they don't. I recently ordered the new for 2016 VIZIO SmartCast M-Series 65 Class Ultra HD HDR Home Theater Display directly from the Vizio website. The website notes that the product ships within 30 days, so I called to see if they knew if it would ship closer to 1 day or 29 days. The agent had no idea. I ordered it anyway.

All of the sudden it started having red static/flashing across the whole screen (difficult to see the full effect in pics since it flashes/strobes). If I leave the TV on long enough, it will go away for a while, but then will come back. It happens on all inputs from all devices (including Blu-ray, cable, internet, etc.).

I found various sites stated that this is a common issues created by failing component inside Vizio TVs. When I emailed Vizio, they suggested that I power cycle the TV. Others with this problem said they had tried this with no success, but I did it anyway...no luck. The email from Vizio said to call them if power-cycling did not work. So I called Vizio and spoke with their technical support. Their only reply was that I was out of warranty and could speak with someone about repairing the TV for whatever it would cost (based on others who did pay to get it repaired, this would cost several hundred dollars). Good thing I have a ton of cash floating around...oh, wait...I have a baby due in 3 months...never mind.

Most companies will stand up for their product and will assist if their product fails, even outside of warranty. Vizio is not one of those companies. They will be happy to sell you a very expensive TV knowing it will break in a short period of time, and will be glad to help you pay more to fix it when it breaks. Save yourself some headache and time if you are thinking about getting a TV. DO NOT BUY VIZIO. Save up the extra money to buy a good quality TV from another company that will stand behind their product. I should have listened to others who said that Vizio only sells disposable TVs.

Vizio sent someone to replace the power board and the mother board. It died again 2 months later. They honored the fact the problem started before warranty expired and replaced both boards AGAIN. IT DIED AGAIN. This time they said to send back the TV and they sent me a refurbished TV and it died in 3 months. Same problem. Screen went black. This is terrible. Do NOT buy a Vizio. With all these complaints, could someone with clout call Vizio on our behalf?

Let me start by saying this TV worked pretty well for about 2 years. Once it passed the second year mark it started showing signs of problems. First problem I started noticing was that the contrast and brightness started going haywire, the darks were excessive to point of pitch black. Second issue was a weird shadow effects that was in the bottom left corner of the screen, just a little round shadow that would eventually disappear. After a few months of that it started flickering and moving from the bottom left corner towards the bottom middle of the screen. That eventually started migrating upwards more and more and now when I turn the TV on the entire middle length of the screen is shadowed, the whole entire middle strip about 3 inches wide and the entire length of the screen.

Contacted support and explained I was wondering what the problem was and was curious if it was a brightness failure and also curious why the stickers on the back of the TV were actually meant for an entirely different TV. The model number and serial number on the stickers are not even the same ones that match if you got through the settings menu and view the system information directly on the TV. The stickered serial number and model number match, but not what my television actually is, they are for the 42" model with WiFi and Ethernet capabilities.

As I was talking with tech support he promised me there were those capabilities and continued explaining how the system information was different than the stickers. After spending 31 minutes dealing with that, he mentioned to turn off the Tv, wait and turn it back on to see if it fixed it; it did not. He then proceeded to mention to me how it was probably the back light; interesting how that's what I mentioned to him and he said the same thing.

After ending with customer support I contacted a friend who is a TV repairman by trade and let me know that the amount of labor required to replace the problem would cost me almost as much as a new TV now and that it's not worth it; mentioning that he has had people come in with broken Vizio TV's and Westinghouse TV's than any other TV in his 17 years of experience. I will never purchase this brand ever again, so disappointed that created an account on here to just review the company.

First time it happened I called customer service, I had to unplug the tv, blah blah blah. About 4 to 6 months later YouTube wouldn't work again. I call customer service. They tell me my TV is obsolete and blame YouTube for updating their app, so I have a thousand dollar tv that is obsolete. Customer service thought it was comical, and there's nothing they will do about it. I WILL NEVER BUY A VIZIO PRODUCT EVER! Just a heads up folks, just my story and opinion of course.

I bought a 70" Vizio Television three years ago. Terrific picture, terrific sound, right up until it crashed 9 months later. I called the company, and to their credit they replaced the TV free of charge, as it was still under warranty. So, here I am just two and a half years later, and the 2nd TV has crashed again - the TV would turn on, but it just had a blank screen. I called the customer service line, and although the rep was very polite, about all she could do to help me troubleshoot it was to do a power cycle - which I did twice before I called. That was all she had to offer. Because I did not purchase an extended warranty, and the television was out of warranty, there was absolutely nothing they could (or should I say WOULD) do for me. She advised me that it would cost me $400 for them to arrange a tech to come out and perform a diagnostic, but then it would most likely be several hundred to fix. No thanks.

I then asked her about their product, and why they didn't stand behind it. She didn't have an answer for me other than the only thing that I can do about the TV is to buy a new one. Very frustrating. Come on! I mean, the first TV lasted 9 months, the second 2 1/2 years. Really? That's the poor product you are dishing out? When I spend $1500 for a product, I expect it to last a bit longer than a couple of years. I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I am. Meanwhile, I have a 48" Samsung that I purchased 8 years ago, and that bad boy is still going strong - not a lick of trouble. Also have an old school fat back Toshiba television that I have had for 17 years - still going strong. Looks like I will be sticking with the Asian electronics products from here on out... Sorry, Vizio - I just can't recommend your product to anyone. On the contrary, I will tell everyone I know to save their money and to not waste it on a Vizio product.

What a waste of money. Don`t be fooled by positive feedbacks like I was - probably most of them are fake. I purchased the tv and received it yesterday. At first I had issue in using the apps. Each time I try to open an app I got this message: "Connection disconnected", even that I'm already connected to internet. I was able to fix that issue by changing dns. Most of customers still facing that issue, but then I stared to smell something usual. I checked the tv back and there was smoke coming out of the back side of the tv. I turned it off. Now I guess I'll have to change power supply board. I can't return it because I can't afford shipping price. I'm international customer. This is the worst thing I even bought in my life.

I thought I bought a pretty nice tv (MODEL E390i-B0) so the salesman said so, then 10 months later the sound went completely out after sometimes working and sometimes not working. I had all my receipts and registered it with VIZIO so a technician could come to my home and repair it; so he did. The sound was part of one whole motherboard piece that needed to be replaced, the tv being a shell. I did what the technician said, use the tv for while to help break in the new connections before turning it off; of course, feeling suspicious about the new 90-day warranty as thinking maybe this motherboard will not have any sound after a while either. What do you know, the sound stopped working, but not completely because it was only near 90 days - how perfect for them and all I wanted was a refund. So they told me, they needed me to ship the tv to them "expensive" and give them my credit card to use as incidentals.

IT'S CLEAR TO ME THEY DESIGNED THIS MODEL TO HAVE THE SOUND FAIL JUST AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES - it did a second time with my second motherboard. Those people who lost their sales receipts are better off because Vizio is not being responsible to consumers. I WANTED A REFUND. THIS MODEL WAS GARBAGE.

When I called Vizio and got nowhere they told me that this is an isolated incident and that there are few complaints of this same issue yet the screen going black between 1 and 2 years after purchase seems to be the same complaint for almost everyone on here. I will never buy another Vizio TV and make sure everyone I know does not either. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. In 2008, I bought a 55% Rear Projection TV that the lamps keep blowing so I wanted to replace it with a smaller easier to move TV. On Cyber Monday, December 2015, I ordered a 43" TV from Vizio (free shipping) for $299. I had a very hard time trying to find 3 men who would move my old 55" rear projection TV but on April 30th, I finally got it moved. We opened up my new TV (the outside looked perfect). But when it was hooked up, the inside of the screen is cracked and just colored lines running everywhere. UPS had delivered the TV. I know I should have opened sooner and checked it out but I couldn't lift it out of the box.

I called Vizio and spoke to a representative in South Dakota who was rude and certainly not helpful. She said Vizio was not responsible for damage done to the TV and that too much time had elapsed to apply for shipping damage. I told her what had happened but she said they had no way of knowing if I had damaged it in 6 months. First of all it had only been 4-5 months and how could I crack the screen on the inside without any damage to the outside whatsoever? I have pictures of the TV showing no damage at all to the outside and the cracked inside screen.

I would have never ever bought a TV and had it shipped if I had known that Vizio would not stand behind their merchandise within 6 month period of purchase. I had to get the same 3 men to move my old TV back and purchased a $45 lamp for it. If you are thinking of purchasing a VIZIO TV be warned do not do it. They are poorly made and the company will not stand behind his product. I added 4 images (sorry for glare on TV front) and snapshot of my e-mail receipt from Vizio. Thank you.

I asked what Vizio would be doing to assist me in this issue. He informed "Nothing, your television is out of warranty." I then demanded to speak with management to discuss this loss.

I was then put in contact with Ashley, #**. She was rude and aggressive from the start of the conversation. I explained to Ashley that my expectation when purchasing a $700 television is for it to last more the 16 months and that Vizio should be standing behind their product instead of running from their customers. She told me that I would need to send in my original receipt and that they would look over my issue and would be back in touch me. I requested her to provide more information in regards to their reviewing of my issue and to clearly set my expectations. She replied, "I have given you your expectations."

If the company has this many issue with their customer service and their products, and can't stand behind their product, how are they still in business? I had four prior televisions and soundbar from Vizio and not had any issue, even though everyone else I know has. After this experience, I will never own another Vizio product for as long as I live. It's now a worthless piece of junk that works for 5-10 min. at time. The TV is defective and shuts itself off while viewing. All auto-off settings are disabled. I have contacted Vizio and they were no help. They told me to reset the TV by holding the power button on the back, and said that this is all the help they can give as the TV is over a year old. This issue began a few months ago, after only 8 months of modest usage, but it was not a problem as it took several hours before it shut off. Now it has rendered the TV unusable. We didn't even know it was an issue with the TV itself, until it was too late. I have tried resetting multiple times, resetting TV settings, using different inputs. Nothing helps, the TV is defective, and Vizio does not support it.

Also the fiber optic audio input is not seated well on the board as attempting to remove the cable from the TV ripped the fixture right off the circuit board. Without excessive force. I'm extremely disappointed with Vizio, and the unbelievably poor quality of this TV. I'm even more disappointed in Vizio's apathetic customer support and their unwillingness to help. They repeatedly told me it was not a known problem, and that they would provide no help even though it was only 1 month after the 1 yr warranty. Even after providing them with online statements from Vizio themselves about recalling TVs for the exact same issue. The picture is great, but it will not last. Vizio will not help.

The TV worked great for 13 months and then "POOF", a black screen, did have sound but now nothing. Followed all the helpful ideas on-line, unfortunately none of them worked. Have contacted VIZIO and their response: "We are sorry to hear you are having problems, try this..." well I tried everything only to hear "We're sorry but the unit is out of warranty, and cannot be fixed or replaced"! I spent over $650 to learn a lesson. One would think for that kind of money this unit would perform easily for at least 5 years. Performing for 13 months is unacceptable! Come to think of it it won't even make a good boat anchor.

He realized that the 1 year warranty was up but tried to get vizio to help him with either a discount on another smart tv or to fix. They would have no part of it and so we are out one tv. Fast forward today my vizio in my home experienced the same thing. I recently inherited a 32" Vizio television from a relative. The TV worked fine at both my relatives home as well as mine, it had beautiful picture quality. After a few days I decided I would connect the TV to my home wireless internet. The TV successfully connected to the internet and it began to automatically download updates from Vizio without my intervention/permission. After updating, the TV will now not boot past the splash screen, after which the TV shuts itself off. I chatted with Vizio support representative "Bentley" who had me unplug the tv and hold the power button for 30 seconds and then restart the tv, then suggested the issue was caused by my electrical outlet despite me not having any issues with my outlets.

To satisfy Vizio I plugged into another outlet and we tried again, but (unsurprisingly) the issue remained. He then told me the TV was no longer within its warranty period and gave me a number to have the TV repaired. I asked him for other options as other Vizio owners with similar issues received a free BIOS update from Vizio. He said no such issue affected my television. My complaint is that the TV worked flawlessly at two locations, but after an AUTOMATIC update from Vizio the TV was bricked and because the TV is out of warranty "Bentley" refused to help me satisfactorily repair an issue that Vizio caused (the TV failed at the very next start after the update).

50in Vizio 240hz 3d smart tv is a POS!!! So OK... Bought this TV and was so blown away by it. It had everything I wanted and more. Bought an insurance plan in case anything happened to it (which I knew would be impossible from my end). Cleaned it all the time and loved having one of the top TVs of the time. Then my insurance on it runs out so OF COURSE I can't have it replaced if something happened. I use it MAINLY for gaming and I come home from work and whattya know. It has a line on the top of screen running from side to side and it constantly shifts the picture when on watching TV or movies. If I even turn on my game console or put the TV in a mode other than standard it losing focus and becomes ungodly fuzzy and is impossible to look at without a major headache in the near future. What a POS!

Can't even last a month after two years??! Lol I mean really?!? Honestly wish I would have put my foot through it before the insurance went out but who buys a TV of this caliber and even remotely thinks it won't make it longer than 25 months. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN A VIZIO!! At this point I can only hope a pawnshop offers me more than 3 dollars for this high tech paperweight. I bought this VIZIO 32 years ago, and the TV itself is fine, and has no problems. However, I picked up the remote the other day, since I was moving things around in my guest bedroom, (I haven't needed the VIZIO remote for years, as the AT&T U-verse remote did it all), and the rubber backing on the remote was all sticky and the rubber was rotting, clearly a manufacturing defect in the material used for the remote.

I do understand a manufacturing warranty, however, if the manufacturer sells defective products, as is the case on this remote control rotting, at what point are they no longer liable to back up a non-quality product that they sold to consumers. All defects are NOT necessarily apparent immediately or in the time of the Manufacturer's Warranty. I paid around $530 for the TV at the time, and didn't mind as I thought I was purchasing a quality product.

I spoke to the Customer Service department at VIZIO today, and although they were polite, they were quick to point out that the time was well beyond the warranty period. And I agreed that under most circumstances, like if the TV itself had a problem, well, it's out of warranty. However, I stated that who would ever consider the idea of the remote rotting away due to defective materials that VIZIO had manufactured in China. Very similar, but not to the costly extent of, the dry wall that was put into people's homes that was made in China, and rotted in the walls.

Well, I was offered the phone number by VIZIO's Customer Service department of an aftermarket parts company if I wanted to pay for a new remote. BOTTOM LINE: If you have any choice in electronic manufacturers, and one of them is VIZIO, buy the other product, because, VIZIO obviously doesn't care that they are selling junk, and they got their money, but don't back up the product.

    Reviewed Jan. 11, 2016

With all of the different models available, and with tons of them being imports it's very hard to evaluate the difference and what are the features that really matter. I really like Panasonic. I tend to go with the brands I feel like I can trust, and my experience with that brand over the years has been great. Bigger is better and clarity is important. The one feature that is the most important is ease of use, give me a remote or app that can guide me to where I want to go, a great picture, need a function that can increase the size of scripts, scores or anything written. I'm getting older and cannot see as well today and find myself sitting closer and closer to the set.

The Vizio television is an exceptional value for the money. It seems to have all the features of more expensive brands, at a lower price. Frankly, most people cannot distinguish the nuances between different brands and the technological differences among them. Considering what is offered in commercial television today, a large expenditure for a television set isn't justified. Unless you're buying a screen for a home theater and plan to show high quality video, suffice to say that almost any brand of TV will work just fine.

We have 6 TV's in my house and my daughter has 1 in her college dorm. 3 of the 6 are Vizio. I've never had an issue with the quality of the picture or the performance. At first I was drawn to them for the price but now it is a brand I look for 1st when I need TV's.

I purchased the VIZIO 40 inch LED Smart TV E400I-B2 HDTV on April 23, 2014 from Dell and on approximately November 2015 the television started turning off. I tried contacting Dell on numerous occasions unsuccessfully because although they sell televisions, they do not have a department to service them. After being transferred to 7 different departments, Dell finally told me to contact the manufacturer. I spent over $440.99 for a television as of today January 9, 2016 that does not work. I would like the television to be repaired or replaced.

I have owned my Vizio Smart TV for over a year now and have regretted my decision in buying it ever since. The quality of the picture is great, but that is not the issue. I bought this Smart TV to use Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO, etc. for my bedroom. Despite being feet away from my wireless device the TV is constantly buffering my shows and movies and four times out of the week claims to be unable to connect to the internet despite my multiple TVs, computers, and phones connecting to the wireless at the same time. Also you are unable to download certain apps, such as HBO and Showtime.

Had I known that purchasing this Smart TV would limit the streaming apps I could download, would constantly buffer my videos/shows, and would (for the majority) be unable to connect to my wireless I would have never purchased this TV. If I could rewind time, I would have bought a non-smart TV and purchased a Roku instead. This TV is a rip off and I regret the day I purchased it! The same size flat screen and a Roku would have been more cost effective than this TV. Please be smart about your purchase and do not buy a Vizio Smart TV.

D Series 39" Flat Screen Vizio Television - Last year we purchased a Vizio 39" flat screen television; however, within the warranty period the television began getting vertical lines on the screen and then a big circle at the bottom until we were unable to see anything on the screen. We contacted Vizio and they replaced that television with a "refurbished" one. We have not had the refurbished television more than two months and the same issue is occurring. We contacted Vizio and they asked us to send pictures, which we did, and they said they would replace it.

However, now they are saying that WE caused the problem by hitting or damaging the television and they are refusing to replace this television but they DID offer to SELL us another refurbished television for a "discounted" price. It is safe to assume that we will never purchase another Vizio television and we will recommend to others that they not purchase one of their televisions. By doing some research, I see that this is not an isolated incident and that others have complained.

I bought this tv from Amazon and just got it. I set it up and found I it only showed black and white. I called technical support and after 30 minutes was told the tv was bad and they would send me a return slip but I had to call another number. I called this number and got another 30 minute runaround and that I would have to wait 24-48 hours before I could do anything. When my customers call with a complaint I make sure it is resolved immediately. I guess Vizio doesn't care.

After one year and three months my 55 inch smart TV is starting to go out to. TV turns on and then after a while it turns off, turn it back on again and it shuts off right away. If I let it sit, it takes longer for it to shut off. I called Vizio and he said that that one year was up and they would send out a repair man and it would cost $350 to repair the TV. This is the second Vizio in my home that needed to be repaired. The other one was a 32 inch. Luckily that one was covered under one year manufacturer warranty. It's ridiculous how all these power boards are made.

55 inch Vizio Smart TV. Highly rated and it's apparent why. We went from a 32" CRT to this and thought 55" would be too big. It isn't and now I wish I had larger. Also bought a separate soundbar (Klipsch) and am very pleased with that as well.

We bought this TV when Vizio was still an unknown name, so we got a great price. It has never had any problem in the years we owned it. It has two of every type of input, so it is very versatile. The built-in speakers have better than average sound. I have the headphone jacks wired to a switch box that allows me to use headphones, or connect to a big Sony base speaker. In other words, this TV is perfect for my use.
