I purchased my first Vizio 50 inch Smart TV just over 2 years ago. After just 11 months a red slow pulsing line appeared approximately 6 inches from the bottom. After contacting Vizio and sending the requested pictures of the defect to them they delivered a new TV. It was considered a 'returned' TV as it had been in one store and then sent to another store and back to the factory? It was in a sealed box with all the packaging intact but I was told it only had the warranty that was left on my old TV. Wish I would have questioned that at the time but a deal is a deal.
Forwarding to now, 15 months later the replacement TV has a blue pulsing line approximately 1.5 inches from the top. I called Vizio with little hope that anything could be done about the TV but thinking they would want to know that a product line had the same failure on the same model of TV. Well I was wrong. The woman I talked to could not have cared less. After working in electronics for over 30 years the rule of thumb was that after 3 consecutive failures the line was shut down and failure investigated. I doubt I was the only one experiencing these failures as what are the chances of getting 2 of the same failures in just over a year. I will NEVER buy another Vizio product again.

My Vizio is an older model, probably at least 7 years old. It's a 42" HD and has been nothing but wonderful. Clear lines, great color hues and perfectly compatible with my satellite service, DirecTV. When it comes time to choose a replacement, there's no doubt I'd check Vizio first. I also like the idea that it's made in the USA.

I saved up for over a year to buy a flat screen TV. Ended up purchasing a 50" Vizio Smart TV. Now just 13 months later (a month after the warranty ended - how convenient) the TV will turn on and there is sound, but no picture. The screen is just black. Vizio customer support guided me through about 30 seconds of troubleshooting before telling me that the cost to repair it would be almost as much as I paid for the TV in the first place. What does it tell you that they seemed to immediately know what the problem was?
Now all I have is an expensive doorstop and no money for a new TV. It should be CRIMINAL that this company is ripping off its consumers in this way. I don't know if they think their customers are dumb enough to buy another Vizio after their first one inevitably craps out. But I will never again buy from this company, and I am warning my friends, family, and anyone I can not to give this horrible company your hard earned cash.

I own 4 TVs sizes are 32", 2-42", & a 50". All are Vizio Smart High Definition 1080/129hz true colors and great picture. They all are slimline and can be hung on a wall or using the stand that comes with it. I have had them for 2 years now and never had any problems. Easy to set up and made very well. Audio is ok but we use a Vizio Sound Bar for the family room and has a fabulous surround sound. I like Vizio the best as I have over the years used other brands.

This television is amazing. The integrated wireless has made connecting to my bluetooth DVR a snap and the streaming experience with Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime has been flawless. The TV has a ton of input ports so I can easily hook up multiple HDMI cables as well as RCA. The picture is clear, the unit is lightweight and easy to move, and the look is sleek and simple. I love it! My only complaint is the remote is difficult to see when you're watching tv in the dark. The buttons illuminate but it's for such a short period of time that you run the risk of accidentally hitting the wrong button.

Vizio 60 uhd tv - I purchase this tv in March 2015 and just taking it out of box. I purchased this tv from Dell. This tv is costing me almost 1800.00 dollars and I have had to call Vizio troubleshooting already and he was not much help. This tv is defective. It just shut off after ten minutes of watching. It shut off then you have to wait and turn it back on and it shut off again. This is not fair to people who invest in a product to have it doing this really. Within a week I trying to see what they are going to do about it. I did purchase the warranty for the tv so I'm going to see what this is all about. Keep you posted. It should be laws against these company selling big ticket items that don't even make it a week. Bad business. I will never buy a Vizio or Panasonic again in my life. Vizio P50HDTV - Initial problems with RCA ports for video game and DVD connections were troubling. They just plain quit working. This prompted quick transition to HD format Blue Ray HDMI port whether I wanted/needed to or not. Overall, this plasma set is still working and the picture quality is very good. Black colors or scenes tend to pixelate, but still on par with many much newer LED sets.

I have 3 Panasonics. They're all flat screens 60", 52", 24". I was very happy when purchased the 60". It had a cooling problem. It took 2 days to get a brand new one and Panasonic told me when I purchase the 52" they would work out a fair deal. So when I went to purchase the 52" and I knew then I needed the 24" for our master bathroom nobody could match or beat the price. In all and all I used to be real picky. I've purchased pioneer tvs, some Kenwood a/v products. And they were great in the first year. Just when warranty ends. But let's face the facts workmanship is build in to the spec and if spec calls for longevity to last 3 years you bet it's gonna last that time.

We purchased our first Vizio 55 inch flat screen TV model E500i-b1 from SAM's Club as it was on sale in June 2014. We did not take it out of the box until after Thanksgiving when our living room floor was redone. 11 months later the TV would not power on, just got a black screen with the light on in the left corner as other consumers have reported. Called Vizio and they said to hold power button down for 30 seconds. This did not help. We sent the receipt copy but because it was purchased in June it was out of warranty by 4 months and no we did not buy an extended warranty as our previous Sanyo TV lasted us 18 years, so we assumed this new one would do the same!!!
We were given a repair number to call and told that's all they could do. When researching the internet this seems to be a common issue with this TV so WHY is there no recall or some kind of offer to repair free of charge since Vizio is clearly making defective TVs to begin with. We are not happy as this seems to be unfair to consumers. We will NOT purchase another Vizio ever and doubt we will buy another TV from SAM's Club either. We are out $549 and are stuck watching a 19 inch Sansui TV but at least it works!!! Should have listed to the reviews in the E series Vizio, which were not good.

A 37 inch screen TV with excellent picture quality and features to enable users to adjust the features to suit viewers. Has numerable connectivity ports to enable addition/connection of various hardware: audio, video, and personal PCs. Excellent sound quality, made of durable yet light material, easily managed, and is conveniently built with the aim to utilize a minimum of space where the thickness is concern. However, I would recommend putting more effort in developing the audio section, as this area puts a lot of load on the speakers causing them to vibrate when the volume is increased significantly. Barring this, an excellent product.

I've purchased about 5 Vizio TVs - the problem is the remote controls and the customer service. Remotes work interchangeably so when one breaks I've been able to use another. However, when I got around to calling Vizio for a replacement remote (about $10 on Amazon) based on the principle of being a loyal and repeat client, they refused to exchange them, citing the 1-year TV warranty. The TV works fine, the remote is the problem. Vizio policy is "No help whatsoever," not even a remote control, after a year. Doesn't matter if a family member died, and you're busy in September getting your 5 kids off to school... no flexibility. No middle ground. No compromise. No discount. No courtesy. It's "your fault for not calling in time" attitude - repeated again, and again, and again.
Jameison in South Dakota was the most condescending in tone and word choice - I called back in and got another man who sounded a little more like Santa Clause at first, but then saw that I called in before, and pushed me on the defensive. Bad tactic for customer relations. Cannot believe Jameison is in "Customer Service" as he does Vizio a disservice. I've had better luck with RCA and Bissell vacuums recently, so I know the companies that value customer retention, and Vizio does not. This is particularly evident as I have bent over backwards for Vizio - and they say "That's in the past." A couple of years ago they double-charged me for a huge expensive TV. Apparently they erroneously shipped 2 of the same out to my address. I had no choice but to be flexible with them. One of the TVs I ordered, they charged me for twice. They would not reverse the charge until their internal mistake was resolved.
The 2 TVs had to come across the country and back, while I paid the double bill. It was ludicrous. I even had my bank on a 3-way call but they made me "eat it" for their mistake, and pay the bill. This took several weeks to resolve, and they were not apologetic. I was in shock that they could do this. Now, they won't give me "wiggle room" on replacing 2 out of the 5 remote controls I've purchased. I said I'd be happy to send them in to see the broken buttons, but they didn't want that. When I asked to talk with a supervisor, they said I'd get a callback in 24-48 hours. They're happy to recite every detail about what I did wrong, when I did or didn't call them, and tell me where I could go buy a replacement remote control. Yet they were extremely dismissive of the extra $1,000 they charged on my Visa. NOW they blame me that it was a debit card, said it should have been a credit card.
I like their product, like remote controls when they work, especially the Netflix button, but hate their business practices and "customer service" - the women are nice, but the men are condescending, unwilling to listen, cut you off and interrupt you repeatedly. All this over a $10 remote control. What kind of customer service training do they get? "Cut off your nose to spite your face" training and customer "care". That they have a call center in the US doesn't really matter, since they just give you the runaround. Don't expect them to be human. Don't buy Vizio - triple rip-off and a ton of frustration!!! By the way, on one of the remotes, it was the "V" that came off, and on another one it was the "OK" button. IRONIC. Vizio is not OK!!!

My 42 inch Vizio Smart LED TV model E420i-AO, is now an expensive doorstop. What a POS. I am so angry right now and this is my only recourse. The TV is two years old and like so many others, the screen went blank and the repairman says there's nothing to be done. I am a savvy consumer and will research a purchase like a scientist before I spend my hard earned money. So where were all these complaints or this website two years ago? I dunno.
Anyhoo, my trustworthy and knowledgeable repairman said that this is a known problem with Vizios and he also used the term disposable tv. So who is this fellow Wang, the reputed CEO of Vizio? Apparently someone with absolutely NO scruples about producing crappy products. In going to their website I found a warning buried away in the support menu that describes a dangerous defect with the tv stand mechanism that can allow the tv to easily tip over on, oh I don't know, perhaps A CHILD?? Why this warning isn't front and center on the website instead of their ads for new crap products and stupid promotions is beyond me. But it does show just where the focus lies of this corrupt and morally bankrupt company.
Why oh why hasn't a class action lawsuit been filed against these thieves? I, like others on here, will go out and buy a better product but I have no sympathy for Mr. Wang and his minions who cannot purchase good Karma at any price.

In the beginning of September 2015, the television began having problems where you can turn it on (power stays on) but there is no picture. I called Vizio support and they walked me through the power cycle (which I had already done before calling their support number) which did nothing to help the problem. Apparently the tech support can only tell you how to power cycle their televisions.
When that failed to remedy the problem, they said the television was out of warranty and gave me the phone number of a repairman in my area of the country. Really, Vizio? Is this the best you can do? I really am disappointed in them not honoring and fixing this problem and will not be purchasing a Vizio again. Clearly this was not a user negligence and should be covered when this occurs!!! When a high ticket item is purchased, a consumer has the right to expect the product to last a considerable amount of time and not break down so quickly! I purchased this Vizio 60" Smart TV M602i-B3 in December and have had nothing but problems since. The TV would occasionally not respond to the remote control's signal. The volume wouldn't adjust, the TV wouldn't turn on, the input channels wouldn't adjust, etc. When the input channels or volume did adjust, the icon would stay on the screen. I would constantly have to unplug the TV to temporarily get it functioning correctly. I've spoken with Vizio several times and they just keep giving me excuses. They sent me two remotes saying that was the issue. Then they sent a TV repairman to replace the IR Board inside the TV. On the next call I was told it was b/c I had to update the TV's software. The next time they sent me a third remote. Finally, they agreed to replace my TV with a "Recertified" TV.
It arrived today and when we plugged it in, it had lines throughout the screen and appeared to have a crack inside the screen. The packaging had no signs of mishandling. I kept my old one and called Vizio to report the issue and give my dissatisfaction with my purchase and their customer service. I requested a new TV, not a Recertified and they said they couldn't do that. I had paid entirely too much for my first flat screen and didn't want to make the same mistake. Vizio seemed to fit what I was looking for. Initially things seemed to be okay though I noticed on several occasions after nodding off while watching my TV when I awoke the screen was off. I didn't think much of it maybe I hit the remote while I slept. Then it happened while I was watching something right at the critical moment in the story.
Again I didn't make too much of it. After some research I discovered that it was an issue with the large screen M series televisions that Vizio was well aware of and denied existed. Lately it will happen two or three times in a evening. I had hoped since Vizio had been made aware of the issue that they would update the firmware on the set and fix the issue, so far no such luck... In December 2014 me and my girlfriend ordered a Vizio smart tv (E320i-B2). It worked fine until August of 2015, when it would not connect to my wifi. It would show it was connected but would not load anything. Anytime I would turn the tv off I would have to accept the terms and conditions before being able to access my networks. I had my tv replaced on August first due to this issue, and the customer service center advised me it was the wifi card. So after a hold on my credit card and two weeks go by I finally received my tv. It worked great for about a day and a half, then it would slowly load and frequently interrupt whatever I was watching on Netflix. I thought it could possibly be my router so I switched routers, and ended up just upgrading my internet service.
A week later my tv is still not working and when I contacted customer service again about the issue I go through all of the steps with them, only to have them tell me I would need to go through the same process again, and that it is a very "rare" issue that I have encountered... twice. I have looked at customer reviews and have seen numerous complaints of the same issue. Vizio advised that they will send me a new tv to replace it, with the same hold on my credit card and at least a two week wait. I had asked Vizio if I could just have a refund for my tv so I can reorder one on Amazon and have it in two days. Vizio advised that it would take several days for a request for a refund to go through. At this point it was better just to wait for Vizio to send a tv and see what happens from there. I bought two different model Vizio 32 inch smart TV's in the past year. One from Sam's Club and one from WalMart. They both had the same problem. The RCA/Composite cable connections did not work. Had to buy extra equipment to use the HDMI connections. My question is... Is this a conspiracy between Sam's Club, WalMart and Vizio to sell defective TV's, and that is why the prices are low? Or is Vizio solely to blame for putting out a substandard product? I used to think Vizio was a good brand. Not so much anymore. My next tv purchase will not be a Vizio.

They have no other resolution. I would never purchase another Vizio product and I will preach to everyone I meet to never buy their products. I purchase Vizio Smart 70 inches December of 2013 and had it set up February of 2014 due to space unavailability. I notice when I cut it off it had a cracking sound. Despite of that there was no other issue until August of 2015. 1 year and 5 months of use it went blank. Called customer support, they conveyed it needed repair and gave me a TV service repair in my area stating it's not on the extended warranty. I am warning the public that this unit is not durable and do not recommend purchasing Vizio Smart TV.

Bought a Vizio P552ui-B2 4K Ultra HD end of January 2015, experienced problems within six months and contacted Vizio to send a tech to repair. They advised did not have the necessary parts to fix and would replace the TV. Replaced with a re-certified TV, a nice term to indicate refurbished. Customer service offered no other choice to get a replacement and one has to agree to their exchange policy to receive a replacement. They love to quote, read your warranty and tell one we can replace with a TV of our choice. They force the customer to accept their terms and care less about a common sense approach to resolve the matter.
On the retail box it says "One year limited warranty, we stand firmly behind our products with an amazing one-year service warranty and lifetime technical support." Hey Vizio, how about putting on the retail box and we happily exchange your malfunctioning TV with a refurbished TV! Service Representatives are well schooled in the re-certified TV exchange business. When I asked one Service Representative if she would be happy with such a settlement for a TV costing over a thousand dollars and being replace within six months with a re-certified TV, she said she could not answer that question!!! Will you buy another Vizio TV or do you advise your friends and family not to buy a Vizio, it is up to you. My answer to this question should be obvious. Oh yes, I requested an refund but of course was told, "a refund is not authorized under our warranty!"

I bought my SMART TV MODEL # E500i-B1 in December 2014. In August 2015, the screen stopped functioning (the TV would power on, but the screen stayed black). I called tech support, but the TV was apparently done. I was advised that I qualified for "swap" (great!). Then told the swap would be for a "new" TV, but was then told "new" meant a TV that was purchased and returned (an "open box" situation, so Vizio cannot resell), and then it went through an "extensive re-certification process."
Okay fine, not ideal, but a mostly new TV. However, that's when fine ended and a very poor customer service policy came to light: (1) I should not expect to receive my new TV for 7 to 10 days. I originally ordered my Vizio on Amazon and got it in 2 days! One would think if Amazon can do it, Vizio can as well. (2) In light of my current less than a year old broken TV, I inquired about the warranty on the "new" TV and was informed I would only get a 90 day warranty. Seriously? You have just represented to me that this TV is new and there is nothing wrong with it, so shouldn't it also get a 1 year warranty?! This 90 day warranty is terrible customer service and basically letting me know in no uncertain terms that Vizio does not stand behind its products or their quality.
Apparently if you buy a Vizio, you should expect for it to break and to need to use your warranty. Bottomline: If your Vizio breaks, expect for them to replace it once, in 7 to 10 days and give you basically no warranty on the "new" TV they give you. Safe to say, when my replacement TV also breaks, I will not be replacing it with a Vizio. If Vizio does not stand behind the quality of its products, I certainly won't be racing out to get another one.

Two months ago my husband noticed that our tv was overheating. We thought it might be the weather but it was almost too hot to touch. At the beginning of this month 8/15 a pixel line appeared on my TV screen. I tried for a day to ignore it but actually just got worse. The following day there was a small dark spot on the bottom of the screen. I called Vizio and let them know about the problem. They told me to take a picture so I did and sent it to them. I was told they would get back to me within 2 days.
After 9 days I called them just to find out that they wouldn't help me. It was damage done to the screen even though that wasn't my complaint. They had not even take notes about the overheating, they just cared about the visual damage. The TV was just bought in 12/14 less than a year ago and they won't help me even though it's an error with the inside of the TV. Anyone know a cheap lawyer? I can't afford another 1000.00 TV but maybe I can afford a lawyer.

We went and bought a Vizio 47 inch smart TV in January 2014. We had the tv for 13 months and it went dark, it wouldn't even come back on. So we called, we understood it was out of warranty but thinking they would stand by their product, they sent out a repairman. Now we had to pay 99.00 to have them come out. They put parts in and the tv wouldn't work. Then a day after it started working, but now the screen went dark again. So the repair company told us it was a screen issue. We contacted Vizio again and was told they would give us a new tv for 300.00. That is crazy. I can't understand why there hasn't been something done about this company!!! They also tried to state the TV was not in warranty although they could see that the TV was less than a year old. I have had numerous calls with Vizio in reference to this and their lack of commitment and lackadaisical attitude is atrocious at best. I recommend anyone who is looking for a new television, buy something other than a Vizio as if you have a problem, you will have a total goat roping getting a replacement and the company handling the replacement process is not very proactive in their responses either. 19 Days without a television to watch and poor customer support. I waited several years to buy a flat screen for my wall and this is so disappointing. There should be a class action lawsuit as this seems to be the norm and not the exception. Well, on July 4th, 2015 the picture went dark. I still had the sound but the picture was dark. My son had purchased an extended warranty plan through Best Buy. But I was told that it was beyond warranty and there is nothing they can do. And so I contacted Vizio Support and they claim it was a known defect in my model... and it required The T-Com Board be replaced. We have had our Vizio 50" smart TV for about a month. We kept getting loud bangs every once in awhile. I thought it was the cable. Comcast changed our box, but it still made loud bangs. Comcast came back out and discovered that we had electricity back feeding onto the cable. So we were told we needed an electrician. Electrician was here for about 2 hours. He checked all outlets and then started unplugging different equipment. Finally he narrowed the problem down to the HDMI ports on our Vizio tv. They were spiking about 150v. We changed our brand new HDMI cables and it did not help. We took the TV back to BEST BUY and of course the 15 day exchange period was up so they said we had to call the manufacturer. Purchased a 70" TV through Amazon July 2013. I hardly watched it, being very busy. Turned it on twice a week. June 2015 it went blank while watching a show, picture just shorted itself and entire screen went black. Called Vizio (within the 2 yr warranty period), the rep said it would need to be repaired by this number and sent me off, called that #, they then said it would be too costly to fix, and referred to Shop Jimmy. SJ doesn't repair TVs so we had to go with their recommendation and get a T-con board...
We followed Vizio's every recommendation for repair (at our own expense). After many many hours of time and energy all failed, we had no choice but to call Vizio and tell them what they told us to do it not working, please rectify. After much re-explaining to Melanie, her supervisor said they would rectify. I sent in invoice dated July 1st, and picture of TV, called back to make sure it was received, and cust svc rep said we are out of the warranty period because it is now July 31, and tried to send me off to "call this number." I asked what is the number for? He said "it's the Vizio repair shop" which was what they had tricked me into doing in the first place!
My original call was in June of 2015, if they had not tricked me into a saga that lasted 1 month, I would not be "out of my warranty period." They do not value the customer's time, energy, nor stand behind the quality of their product, service, and integrity. This company will do whatever it takes to get out of a warranty. I always buy an extended warranty with large ticket items and glad I did. I first contacted the warranty company and after sending them pictures of the issue, they stated it was a manufacturer's defect and Vizio would replace the TV since this issue is not repairable according to them. So I go through the warranty process with Vizio... and surprise surprise, Vizio stated it was not a manufacturer defect and there was nothing Vizio can do.
Now I never move the TV and have it hanging on the wall. It's never been hit, moved or touched and magically this TV has an issue and it's not a manufacturer defect? So does this mean the TV is suppose to start messing up just naturally? By that logic, a TV should only last for about 2 years and then start to mess up on you. It doesn't make sense. However our TV was less than a year old. We called our friends at VIZIO. Customer service had us go through a check and they determined we had a bad circuit board. We were given a service number and told we could expect to be scheduled for a local repair person within two weeks. Within that time a service person called and visited. He informed us the television was unrepairable and VIZIO would have to send us a (not new one) but a over stocked one???
But in order for us to get it we would have to provide a credit card to secure the value of the new one and ensure return of the broken one. (Seems to me there should be a better process here). Our new would arrive within yep 2 weeks, but we had to have the old one properly packaged and returned to them with 7 business days or they would deduct from our credit card. Purchased our Vizio TV at Walmart and had for about 13 months. We were watching tv one day and the screen just went to navy, but you could still hear the audio. We called Vizio customer no-support, and they told us they could send someone for almost $400.00 dollars to see what was wrong. So they wanted about 1/2 of what we paid for the thing a year ago to come look at it, see if they could find out what was wrong. We went online and found a couple of sites that suggested some boards that could be replaced and that may fix our problem. Two weeks later and several boards later, still no tv. After looking around, seems to be a common problem with the Vizio brand. DO NOT BUY, they may be cheaper, but remember you get what you pay for. Makes me so angry to pay over $800.00 for a tv that lasted a little bit more than a year.

Master channel directory dumped all my saved channels while changing between OTA broadcasts. Contacted Vizio and they advised 'hard reset' and 'power-down' procedures. This sort of worked. Only a few OTA channels were found, and they too stopped working. Performed the reset and power down procedures ten times and got...nothing. I bought the set [from Best Buy] in January 2014 and it is now July 2015. So, it only worked for 18 months [with about 20 hours of operation per week]!! I'm asking Vizio to replace or repair w/o any expenses unto me. Waiting for reply, but not holding my breath since they will play the 'out of warranty' name game. Two stars; not for the service (which has yet to redeem itself to me), but a modern TV should not break-down after 18 months of use.

I will never buy a Vizio product ever again. My Vizio E500i-A1 "smart tv" suddenly stopped working. The remotes doesn't work, the power button on the side of the tv doesn't work. I can't call up any of the menus, can't use the streaming apps, nothing. A friend looked at it and he thinks something must have blown on the motherboard. Vizio customer service had me doing contortions to get them the serial number to "confirm my purchase information" (the serial number is in tiny numbers on the back of the tv) after I had already told them I bought the tv two years ago and didn't have an extended warranty.
Three phone calls later they finally said they can't do anything for me, because I bought it two years ago and didn't have an extended warranty. I knew it was out of warranty and hardly expected it to last forever, but to pay $700 bucks for a new tv and have it totally fail in under two years is utterly ridiculous. That isn't really a warranty issue but a bad product issue.

I still don't understand why they couldn't look up a proof of purchase from the serial number like most companies do.
Wal-Mart, where I purchased it, was surprisingly understanding about the misplaced receipt and was able to look it up by the serial number (again why couldn't Vizio do this?) and let me exchange it. However, we had to get another of the exact TV. We did, thinking it was just a bad TV. Furthermore, they weren't allowed to give us a receipt because we didn't originally have one. Black Friday 2013 which was a year and a half ago I purchased a 70" LED Smart TV on sale for $998 the day after Thanksgiving at Walmart. I spent approximately $1200 after tax and shipping. Model # E701i-A3e Serial # LFTRNXCP3800288. On June 15th, 2015 half of the TV went out. The color has a dark orange tint from the middle of the screen all the way to the left and the images on the far left trail. I called Vizio that same night and they told me they've never heard of this issue and it was most likely non-repairable. They could offer me a "discount" only. I didn't agree to anything because I wanted to investigate some more. I went to Wal-Mart to see what they could do and they said nothing because I didn't "register the extended warranty." I called back 6/20/15 and they offered the same 70" TV that I had purchased for $1130 no shipping & no tax and I tried to understand the discount percentage and they weren't able to break that down.
I asked what else they had to offer and say they could offer a 65" LED Smart TV for $800 and they would waive the shipping cost & they'd waive the tax as well and all I had to pay was $800 plus the 3 year extended warranty plan which was $151.96. I wasn't happy - didn't agree to anything and they told me I had 7 days to make up my mind. I realized that I was getting nowhere. I work for a School District in McHenry County, I have 2 children. My time isn't spent solely on research - I have to work and take care of my family. I agreed to take the 65" TV.
At the end of the conversation they told me I had to give them my broken 70" LED Smart TV when they dropped off the new TV so they could refurbish my broken TV and resell it and/or use any good parts and refurbish other TVs for a profit. I told them that wasn't right. How can you make more money off of me and if they'd be sending me a check once they repaired and sold my TV and they said no. They could not send me the 65" unless I agreed to give them my 70". I've looked on their website and I see many other customers going through this same situation. I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done to stop this unfair act from Vizio.

I'm a no-frills kind of person, so the absence of a huge menu of "apps" and other assorted bells and whistles doesn't bother me at all.
In addition, I have found Vizio to be helpful when complaints arise. The most recent incident involving the continuous looping of the Yahoo update function on the television was resolved at once. Vizio posted the solution on the support site online. I am the least "tech savvy" person you could imagine, but I followed their directions for rectifying the problem to the letter, and in no more than 10 minutes, I had the issue resolved on both my sets. I realize that problems occur unexpectedly, and I know that my sets could conk out 10 minutes after posting this. However, I just wanted to air my opinion and state that for over a year, my Vizio sets have performed well above what others apparently have experienced with the brand.

If this is the quality they are coming out with I am done with this brand. My Black Friday special Emerson is still working fine and served for 3 years in the living room and now is our bedroom tv. Hello Samsung you are my best hope for quality.

Then about 12 weeks ago it started turning off by itself. Turned it off last night, this morning it would not come on. IT DIED! So will go Monday and buy a new TV. {BUT, NOT A VIZIO} When I get the new tv hooked up the Vizio is going to the sand pits to have some bullet holes installed.

I bought a 70 in Vizio LED TV on Amazon January 2014...10 Months later it developed a thin black line thru the screen which I'm told was a bad Pixel. Vizio replaced the TV under warranty with a "restocked TV". Now 5 months later the TV has developed the same black line thru the screen! The replacement TV had a 90 Day warranty on it which I was never told. After several calls and long wait times Vizio offers to sell me a New TV for $100 less than I can buy it at my local Costco! That is their attempt at customer service! I will never buy a Vizio product and will spread the word on their poor products and poor customer service to everyone I know.

Vizio E550i-B2 tv - First off... I could not get the stand off to hang it on my stand. One of the screws were COMPLETELY stripped. There was nowhere for the Phillips screwdriver to grab hold. Second of all - the remote - only two buttons worked. I had to order a brand new one through Amazon. Lastly the WiFi is AWFUL. My Midcontinent is the 1.0 with wireless modem even through my living room and bedroom wall my Roku picks it up as does every phone, the iPad, the Kindle. You name it. Just not this TV. It will play for a short time then just drops it, then it would not find it at all... No internet showed up and I had to call and be told how to reset the television, therefore having to reinsert all my info for Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Amazon etc...
I always thought Vizio was a good brand but I am thoroughly disgusted with this product. The only nice thing I can say about it is the picture IS nice but the other thing too is the view settings - either I have to watch my movies with the black bars across top and bottom, around all sides, or if I want full screen I am missing seeing words and Lord knows what else.

In Sept. 2014 after saving our money we purchased our first large screen TV a 55 inch Vizio flat screen smart TV. Immediately we noticed the sound did not match the mouth movement, we assumed it was because we needed to adjust a setting. We became familiar with the remote and settings and were able to improve it, however, noticed over time it would revert back. Additionally, the TV started blacking out, the whole thing would turn itself off. At first we thought it was a bad connection, or perhaps the cable company. We called the company to come and check all connections etc. after all it was a brand new TV it couldn't be the TV right? After 2 months of intermittent turning off and then not being able to turn it on again unless we unplugged everything and then replugged all connections, we realized it must be the TV.
We called Vizio, it was within a year so the warranty was still good. They said they would send a repairman to fix problem. We argued that we wanted a new TV, it was only 2 months old! They insisted we needed to follow this process. When we asked "what if the problem comes back after fixing?" They said at that point they would replace the TV. So we went with it. The repairman came about 3 weeks later (much too long of a wait) and replaced the mainboard. He said we should be all set. After 4 weeks, the same problem happened again. We were in the exact same place as we were almost 2 months before. We called Vizio and requested a new TV obviously this one is faulty! They agreed to send out a refurbished replacement, what??? This can't be legal? We purchase a new TV that never worked right and then it gets replaced with a refurbished? What a racket!
After arguing with management and getting nowhere frustrated I accepted the refurbished offer, they said it would arrive in 6-10 days. 10 days later we received an email informing us that our TV was on its way and we should set up a delivery date and time. The email arrived on May 5th, the earliest delivery available was for May 13th, 2015 between 8am -12pm. (that's 18 days, not 6-10) On May 12, 2014 we received a text reminding us to be home, the TV had arrived and would be delivered between 8am -12pm as planned. We sat all morning, not delivery. We called the number for the delivery people. They said the TV never arrived. What? But we received a text? We went up to management, asked and they reiterated the TV is delivered by another subcontracted agency, and they never delivered the TV, according to them. Nothing they can do.
We called Vizio back. They said we needed to call Manning the company that was to deliver our TV. We told them we did and they said they never got it. Vizio said, nothing they can do about it, according to their records Manning received the TV and they have it. We are now stuck with a bad TV that we paid 1000.00 and no recourse. Class action suit sounds like a good idea to me, is there no protection for consumers anymore??? AVOID VIZIO.

Vizio Model E600i-B3 LED TV - I purchased my Vizio back on Sept 2014 and up until last month, April, it was working fine. In April the started to get a black screen with the message "no signal" after it was on in the morning for one hour. After turning the TV off for about a half hour, I would turn it back on and had a picture and it stayed on until late night. This happens every morning.
I contacted Vizio customer care and they said it was caused by my Dish box and I should contact Dish and have my box checked and maybe replaced. I did as they suggested and the Dish tech said there was nothing wrong with the box but gave me a new one. Guess what. The problem was not fixed. I again contacted Vizio and they said the WiFi from my home router was causing the problem and I should replace the router. I said BS. Why don't you just stand behind your warranty and fix the TV. They said it was not their problem. Do you have any suggestion on how to fix this problem?

One item was A Vizio 50 inch smart TV (they were raffling off a couple different brands). I won the Vizio... right out of the box it did not work. Called Vizio but was out of the 30 day return policy and of course there was nothing they were going to do about it even though when it was bought, they were told it was for a school fundraiser the following month. No one told the school who purchased that the box needed to be opened before thirty days. I could not understand why they would not do "the right thing", but after reading other reviews here, I see how they operate as a company.
I think a nice email to the administrators of the school with a letter to the 1200 students telling how NOT to run a company and how NOT to treat customers who are trying to do the right thing and help the kids at the school.. Hmmmm lets do the math, 1200 students reach out on social media with at least 100 friends each... WOW! I think Vizio you should do the right thing not only for me but all the people who posted on this site... Don't you think a 700.00 dollar item should last longer than a year? A year and a half? Two years? 38 Days? I certainly think so and I am sure others would agree. I am sure you make great products and have people who swear by your products... That's not my point here in this forum, its about customer service, doing the right thing, and treating people with respect.

I call the customer service line and explain what is wrong, giving them the serial number. They determine that the back light is not working properly. We bought the T.V. in November 2014 we had to get a replaced 3 times for the same problem then on the 4th they gave us a upgrade on the same T.V. We still have the same problem - dark spots on the screen, blurred picture - we had to keep sending pictures to them from live to dvr to dvd. All had the same picture so when I called to tell them I just want a tech to come out and look at it they actually told me they would not send someone out because it has to be a problem on our end.
So I just asked for a refund. They refused to give us one and told us basically it was our problem. Now we are stuck with a T.V. that we cannot even watch a lot of things without it having a problem. At first I thought maybe I had not connected it properly but that was not the problem. By the time the problem began I was beyond the 14 day return policy for Best Buy. So I called Vizio, got a complaint number and was told to call back if the problem persisted. I did make the second call and was told to keep track of the shut downs.
By the time I left town for the Holidays in mid November, the TV was turnig off twice a day and the remote control stopped working. This required a manual shutoff or startup. When I returned in January, I again contacted Vizio. And I was blamed for the problem. Vizio never acknowledged that the product was defective. Instead their customer service people used a stalling tactic to avoid giving me a new television.
Best Buy has been only slightly more helpful. It sent the TV out for service. The entire circuit board was defective. I want a refund - they can keep the TV. What are my chances that this will work out in favor of the consumer? NIL of course. My customer service experience with Vizio has been just awful. Unfortunately, I was not keeping very good track of names, etc when the first problem arose, however, as it kept happening (different problems) I began to keep very good records. It all began within a couple of months after purchase and now I have 4 different "case" numbers from them and countless calls to customer service. I have demanded a full refund and will fight this as long as I have to. I am currently on disability because of my severe arthritis and I don't have the money to spend on a new tv and certainly don't want another Vizio product EVER in my life! I now have all of my ducks in a row and am ready to follow through until I get some satisfaction. It seems as though they want to make their money by selling these "wonderful" products and then leave customers unhappy by not following through with their word spoken through customer service.
I could get very lengthy in this letter but see no reason to at this point. Once the time comes where I need to provide more detailed circumstances, I will be ready. The customer service department is so well trained in saying what they need just to get you off the phone. I purchased a 55 inch Vizio smart flat screen TV 3 and a half months ago. Three days ago 3/28/2015 I was just watching TV all of a sudden the screen cracked. Nothing hit it because I live alone and I’m 53 years old and on disability. Well I brought it back to Walmart and they said the 30 day warranty was past and told me to call Vizio because I have a year warranty with them. I immediately called Vizio and explained what happened. The person who I spoke to said they don't cover cracked screens even when I told her “nothing hit the tv it just shattered watching it.” I will never buy anything from walmart and definitely I will never buy Vizio again.
Now I don't have the money to replace it. Like I said I’m on disability and it took me a long time to save for the very first brand new tv I ever bought. I am very angry over this but my faith has taught me not to hate. Vizio needs a lesson in feelings. I don't have anything and I was so happy to be able to have a tv that I could actually see. Any suggestions as to what I can do please feel free to let me know. By the way a friend is posting this for me. God bless.

Purchased a VIZIO 42" Smart TV from WALMART, November 2013. This week, the set displayed a horizontal, grey line across the center of the screen. Neither WALMART (90days) nor VIZIO would do anything to remedy the matter since the WARRANTY was 3 months dated beyond. I find this policy and lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE to be INTRINSIC of why AMERICA IS FAILING! Sell shoddy, MEXICAN or CHINESE products that FAIL after WARRANTY and give them the "CUSTOMER SHUFFLE"! I expect a company to stand behind their products, not "DUCK" away as these two have. NEVER, EVER buy a VIZIO PRODUCT!!!

I purchased a 60" Smart Vizio in 2013 from Walmart; purchased it online so saved $100. It cost $800. Now it is March 2015. A couple of months ago it started making random popping sounds when being turned on or off. Then a couple of days ago while I was watching it, it made an explosive sound and went off. I wouldn't have been surprised if parts went flying. Thank goodness it turned itself off because I was afraid to touch it.
My son, who has three perfectly working Vizios, came over and wouldn't you know it worked perfectly and we left it on for hours. Then a couple of days later I was watching it when it made an explosive sound coupled with a sizzling sound and went off. I unplugged it and plugged it in and watched it again and it did the explosive sound plus sizzling sound again. It seems when it gets warmed up, it fails. That's it. I am done with it. I loved watching Netflix and had just started watching M-GO movies. I am 82 years old and now have to figure out how I can afford another TV because from all I read I will not get any relief from the company. I threw the receipt away after it got through Walmart security- did not know I would need it.

After a few months of using the TV, I encountered lines on the screen and it sometimes freezes but I kept using it, and now it is working perfectly. I love the picture, the color and everything. I even ordered a Vizio sound bar and never had any issues after that.

My Vizio E261VA, Razor LED flat screen TV, serial number; LTTUGGMN380295, roughly two years old would not display any image one day. The power button works to turn on the power indicator LED but there was audio or video output. This is surprising to some degree. I was expecting this product to work for many years.

I hate my Vizio smart TV - the remote is very user unfriendly, the buttons are hard and it has to be aimed perfectly at the spot on the TV. It came with a limited number of apps and new ones cannot be added - Vizio also has its own version of apps, e.g. is Netflix. Apple's app is much more user friendly. I will never purchase another Vizio product.

We purchased this tv from Best Buy on January 6, 2015, brought it home, hooked it up and enjoyed it mostly until March 12, 2015. There were times it the volume would cut out on it, but turning it off and back on would take care of that issue. Then on March 12, it was on, working fine, and then just turned itself off. It immediately turned itself right back on and did this cycle of events the entire time it was plugged in without end. After running errands that day, we came home to find it still in this quirky mode. I checked on-line, checked the book, and finally called Vizio for assistance. The customer service rep walked me through the list of troubleshooting options and then declared we would have a repairman calling in 3-5 business days to set up an appointment for him/her to come out to our home to look at it.
A week went by with no word from Vizio, so I called to check on the case and was informed the parts for repair were on back order and would be at least a week before getting another call from Vizio. On the 2 week anniversary of placing the original call to Vizio, a rep called and left a message with no way to get in touch with him specifically, but he did leave Vizio's number. I called them back and was informed that there are no replacement parts for the tv, but they would gladly replace the tv. She then went on to explain the replacement would be one that has been returned to their stock from any number of places for any number of reasons, of which they wouldn't really know.
This was the point at which I spoke with my husband and we decided to ask for a refund. She left me on hold for quite some time, came back to let me know she hadn't forgotten about me and was waiting to hear from her supervisor, put me back on hold, and then transferred me to someone else who then made me retell the entire life story of this sad, broken tv. He then had the nerve to ask me if I had ever looked on their website to see about troubleshooting the issues myself. At this point I gave him my husband's number, and told him to discuss it with him. He put in a request for a refund. They denied it. So, now we have a 2 month old tv that doesn't work, and the only option Vizio has to make this right is to give us a returned tv from their stock that cannot be sold as new.

I bought a Vizio in 2012 w/ 2 year warranty - a 48in LED T.V. The T.V. worked fine for a few months then started making a crackle noise when you would turn the T.V. on or off. I didn't think much of it. Besides that no problems with the T.V. After that but about a year and half later I went to turn the T.V. on and a loud popping noise came out of the T.V. It wouldn't turn on! About an hour later it came on with no picture - just a black screen and then it fully died. After that I could not get the T.V. to work.
I did some research and found out Vizio has a bunch of "pop of death" complaints. I called the store to try and see if my warranty was still active. It was a couple months past warranty but I only had the T.V. for 2 years!!!!!!!!!!!! No one can do anything for me. It costs $300 to fix so I decided I should just buy a new T.V. but I don't understand why they couldn't help me! I really liked Vizio and since they were rude on the phone and basically said, "O well figure it out yourself," I will never buy a Vizio again!!!!!!! 2 years for a T.V. Now I have to spend another $600. Thanks Vizio. Go ** yourselves!

I'm over 65 years old and I'm not a technical person. If I still owned a VCR it would be blinking 1200!!! I own a S3821w-CO sound bar. I had a few problems with it (I think most of the time it's my fault), Customer Service is always fabulous with me. They are so patient with me. It takes me a little longer to figure out what they want me to do. I've never had a problem. I do not work for Vizio or being paid for this review. I own 3 Vizio TVs, they're wonderful, of course I don't know how to use all the extra functions. Friends tell me my 60 inch Vizio TV has the best picture they have ever seen - I think so too.

I purchased a Vizio television at the end of Nov from Best Buy. The beginning of March, the television stops working. I contact Vizio customer service because it is under warranty. They tell me that they must send me a re-certified television and it will be sent in 10 business days. I cancel a meeting and work from home on the day of delivery. I contact Manna freight, the shipping company, and they proceed to tell me that my delivery is running a little behind and that they will call me an hour before they arrive. At 445 pm I still had not received a phone call so I called them back and I was told that the television had been shipped back to Vizio and that they were sorry for the mishap. Furious I contact Vizio who gives me the run around and tells me that they will need to investigate and give me a call back the next day.
Next day arrives, no call. So I call them - the customer service rep makes me explain the entire situation again and tells me that the best they can do it send me a re-certified television within 5-7 business days. I have been without the television for almost 3 weeks and the quickest they can do is 5-7 business days? Even then I will never buy another Vizio. I talk to the customer service rep whom I ask if they would extend the warranty of the television by one month because I haven't had the television for 3 weeks and by the time I get the TV it will have been a month (if I actually get the television). She says sure, I can extend it to 3-5 years at a certain dollar amount. Seriously?? Nothing? I can give you more money even after all of this hassle.
When I confronted her about it - she hurried me off the phone. By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have filed a BBB against Vizio and will doing so shortly with Manna Freight as well, although their customer service has been better. Vizio doesn't care about the customer that spent my hard earned money for a television that is only good for a paper weight 3 months after buying - Vizio is a joke of a company.

Television was bought December 2014 brand new and had to be replaced three times. I am on the 4th television and the screen has gone out. Purchased model E390-A1 39 inch Vizio TV on 3/7/14. Within 2 months of purchase the TV stopped powering on. Vizio sent a repair technician out who repaired the TV. It did power on after that and stayed on, however in the process of repairing it, she somehow pushed one of the hdmi ports so far back into the TV, it's inaccessible, leaving us with only 1 hdmi port. We didn't notice it until several weeks later, but we really only needed one hdmi port, so it wasn't a big deal at the time. Skip forward almost a year from purchase date... the one hdmi port we were able to use has now stopped working.
I called Vizio to ask about a repair, was put on hold for an extended amount of time while the customer rep talked to a service tech about possibly just replacing the whole set, and I was told that since it had been such a long gap in between the first repair and now, that they wouldn't do anything to fix it, but they could direct me to a repair shop in my area, but I would have to pay for it. Are you kidding me, Vizio?! The TV has had issues from the very beginning, but apparently I waited too long to complain. PLEASE don't waste your time or money on this horrible company. They have bad customer service and refuse to stand behind their products.

Bought a 70-inch ($1,900) Vizio (Model # E701i-A3) back in Sept. 2013. In Feb. 2015, the screen suddenly went completely blank. Still had sound - but no picture. Contacted Vizio and they basically told me I was out of luck and they could do nothing. I took it to a certified repair center and they looked at it and said that the CD panel is out and that there is no fixing it. They also added that they did research and it seems like a common problem with Vizio. I did some looking and there were a couple of models that had bad parts and they were 'recalling' - but I was informed even though I had the same issue that my serial number did not fall under that recall.
I find it very upsetting that I paid $1,900 for a TV that lasted roughly 18 months. That works out to be $105.55 a month to watch the TV before it died. And then I paid another $60 for the service center to pick up TV and look at it. Thank goodness they did not charge me for their time to look into the problem. Since I paid CASH for the TV, I am basically left standing alone. I will NEVER EVER buy Vizio or any of their products they are associated with - and I will for sure spread the word that they do not care about their customers. I work hard for my money and Vizio works hard at ripping people off.

In general, companies don't stand behind their products anymore. Vizio is such a company. My buddy bought a Vizio TV just over a year ago. The 1 year warranty ended at the end of 2014. Just a few weeks into this new year, the TV suffered a fatal and unrepairable breakdown. The Vizio executive team basically said you're out of luck as your 1 year warranty is technically over, even though their TV only lasted 2500 hours when the norm is 50,000 - 100,000 hours. I would be embarrassed to be associated with such a shoddy product. This is America's so-called 'premier TV company'. This is what they say anyway. Things sure aren't made like they used to be.
