After Five phone calls to their customer service (each wait for about an hour and a half all five times), I was discussing my Dreamer edition of Link's Awakening and its respective amiibo. I had received an email saying my pre-order from March 2019 is on hold 4 days before release. I went to my local Gamestop and discussed it with the staff. They managed to handle the situation one million times better than their customer service sites. Anyway, the store manager(s) called their own private gamestop number for customer service and managed to reassure me it was a site bug, "its fine, and your order will go through" is what I was told. I get another email saying my order is still on hold. I go to the store again and the staff were nice enough to call again and reassure me. That same evening on the after the second visit I get an email confirming my order, great, then TWO HOURS LATER I get an email saying my order has successfully been cancelled.
I go back to the store Monday after work and spend an hour with the staff again just to be told that my order and the phone calls I made as well as their store manager made NEVER EXISTED. WTF. I do not blame the store staff. They did their job superbly compared to their customer service. I will be going again today because the store manager had requested the phone call (all recorded for "training purposes") from their district manager to prove this is not in our own heads but actually happened.
It is such ** that both the customers and the staff of the stores (in-person staff) get treated like garbage for the Company's shortcomings and can not even admit that they messed up. They do not even need to admit it, just fix it and move on. Luckily I did my research and noticed that this has happened numerous times this month allow with practically every pre-order they had for Links awakening, Borderlands 3, and Cyberpunk 2077. This is actually grounds for a lawsuit inder company fraud to its customers. seems like it's starting to follow the path of the ENRON scandal for those who know what company that is.

I went to try to return my game or exchange it. They told me I couldn't do it then the store manager on Silver Spring in Milwaukee was very rude and said they can give me back 3.00 off a 30.00 game. Wow. Mind you it haven't even been 30 Days yet since I purchased the game and in the middle of playing the game the sound went off. Gamestop isn't the store I once liked. Not no more.

GameStop.com is beyond horrible when it comes to customer service. I preordered borderlands 3 super deluxe edition. I paid extra to receive it on the release date 9/13/19, today. I received the tracking info on 9/12/19 through email. I patiently wait most of the date for the package to be given to UPS. At 5:56pm I call to find out what is going on and to ensure I will receive it today as guaranteed by GameStop.
I wait 1hr and 20min to speak to Dillon. He can not confirm that UPS had the package. All he can tell me is that since it’s not after 9pm that I should still get it today. If I don’t get it to call back on Monday. Not what I wanted to hear, not a real answer to what is going on. So I check a little later to see if there is any update on the GameStop or UPS webpage. Turns out right after I speak to Dillon, at 7:29pm 9/13/19 UPS magically received the item from GameStop. This is too late to receive the item on the date guaranteed by GameStop today 9/13/19. Now I have to wait until 9/16/19 to receive the item.
I did not wait until Monday to call back. I called again just after 9pm and waited another 1hr 10min to speak to someone. Speaking with David I was told an exception was made for me and my shipping charge would be refunded but that was all that could be done. I was also told that the shipping change did not have to be refunded even though GameStop did not follow through with their promise of getting me on the release date. I then spoke with David’s supervisor Daniel and suggested a suitable solution. To give me a download code for the basic game so I could start playing and I would patiently wait for all my extra content to come on Monday with my physical super deluxe copy stuck with UPS.
Daniel informed me that there is no one that would be able to make that call until Monday at corporate. This is a huge lack of foresight in customer service, not having someone empowered to take care of customers on the weekend. I hope that this issue is not common and that an exception like this could be made easily. I will no longer be using GameStop.com for any purchases and seriously doubt using a physical location or ThinkGeek. I will also make sure I let everyone I can know of the failures in GameStop's customer service. Wish I could give them 0 stars. I will be going to the game manufacturers directly from now on

Purchased a game 8 days ago. It was not available in store, so the guys told me the game will be delivered to our home address within 5 days. The game never came. I called the store and they said they had some technical problems, couldn’t open my order details. I asked them to call me back when they open the order. They did not come back to me. I drove to the store. The sales person called someone and they said the order was not even processed until today, they will be shipping it and will send tracking info to my email address. No apology. Nothing, like it’s a normal thing for Gamestop.
When I asked to expedite the shipping, I was told I can get only the type of shipping I originally paid for (that was supposed to deliver the product two days ago). When I asked to cancel the order, I was told I can’t do it since they already processed the order! I can get a refund; not including the shipping) if I bring the game back after it arrives (hopefully). GameStop sucks. Don’t think I’ll ever buy anything from them again.

Ordered a VR headset for my ps4. Had my money go into pending with the bank for my order to be cancelled next day. I call support and get told it was on my banks end and my card wasnt authorized. After a huge dispute I finally call my bank and of course my purchase went smooth on my banks end. Everything went as should with my money being taken out of my account pending to Gamestop. So I call gamestop support again and wait 2 hours for a representative. Just to get someone who can hardly speak English and gives me terrible metaphors and stories about how they service 99 people out of 100 that all go perfect. I ask for a supervisor and get ignored then eventually hung up on. This company is dedicated to not accepting responsibility for their issues and mess-ups. The representatives are ignorant and rude. Worst service I've ever received in my life. They dont deserve ONE star.

Ordered a fire stick in the store online. I was advised it'll take 3 days. Now it's going on 10 days. I called customer service and they said because the shipping label has been created I can't get a refund. I told them that UPS doesn't have the product so how is it shipped?? They couldn't even answer me. But won't refund my money cash, they want to give me a first card in 2 weeks. Smh. Now I know to order only thru Amazon Prime. It was the same price with next day free shipping. GameStop sucks.

GameStop does not honor its agreements and representations. Manager 6 mos ago told me to keep the box and receipt for a headset, and to bring it back within one year if it broke. They made a point of it, and it's the only reason I bought it. Tucked the box and receipt safely in storage. Six months later the manager says, "Sorry, we will not honor." "Oh, you must have misunderstood." Well no, both my boy and I heard it clearly and remember it. "Oh, and the warranty sticker on the box does not apply, so sorry." Right. They'll get no further business from me. The only question is whether I sue them. Maybe a class action from the looks of their national reviews.

Ordered a playstation controller for my stepson, no one said that if it didn't get picked up within 24 hours it would be mailed. Well I live in Florida and they shipped it to me so they said. This was July 14 that it was shipped. Well it is now August 5 and I have yet to receive any controller. I reported it to the post office and I need a receipt. Problem is that the website will no longer let me onto their website. I requested a new password this morning and it's now 6:02 PM and I have yet to receive the email. So I called, get put on hold to listen to people talk about games. I don't want to hear that. It was annoying. Please put me on silent or put music. Well the outcome was that I have to wait up to 2 hours for a copy of my receipt to send to USPS. I will never ever shop at Gamestop. It was absolutely the worst experience ever.

My $25 Gamestop GC wouldn't work online. I called customer service & they told me they would send a $25 digital GC to my email address within 3 days. A few weeks later, I called to see what the holdup was, and they said they did send it. When I asked them where, they read me my correct email address but with 2 numbers added after it. They said they would send the $25 GC to my correct email. 7 days later, I called again to tell them that I STILL had not received it. Again, they tried to tell me that they sent it & to check all of my folders. So now I'm really mad & feel something fishy is going on here.
I emailed them this time, because I wanted to get a different dept. I told them the entire story & that I STILL have not received the GC. They emailed me back "Betty, let me know if you haven't received the GC." HELLO? I JUST TOLD YOU THAT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT!!!! Also, my name is Debbie, not Betty! I'm about to lose my mind with these people! They asked for my physical address now & said they would mail it in 15 days. Really? We'll see.

Last month I get a notification from my credit report saying my Gamestop account was closed. I called Gamestop cc and they said yes due to inactivity. I'm like I jus paid it off last month. I don't use it every day. She couldn't give me anything else but that reason I called Comenity and again no answer but you will get a letter in the mail. I asked what other cards do I have with y'all. She said that's the only one. I said thank God.
They hurt my credit a little but they won't EVER get me again. Stay away from them. Looks like they robbing people. Quick to recover from losses the owner blew maybe in Vegas and want us to pay for their vacations. Yes need a civil lawsuit. It wouldnt be hard. Need to do like all the other commercials. You may be entitled to compensation if you have a CC through Comenity bank.... Have you had late fees charged every month for no reason? Have your accounts been closed for no reason? Have your credit been messed up for no reason? You maybe entitled.... Yeah someone needs to start this and stop them. They banking everyone's hard worked money and getting away with it.... So wrong.

If I could have provided ZERO stars, I would have. GameStop is awful! On Saturday 5/11/19, I went online and purchase ONE $40.00 digital gift card to be given to the neighbor for his birthday. I immediately received an email from GameStop claiming my bank declined the purchase. I called my bank who assured me that it was not the case. So, I called GameStop back, who suggested that this online gift card would take 3 days to be released to me, after the "per-authorization" was approved.
On Monday 5/13/19, I checked to see if GameStop released the $40 digital gift card to me. No, they had not; instead, they sent me another email stating that my bank declined the transaction. I called my bank only to discover that TWO transactions of $40 had been FULLY WITHDRAWN from my bank account. At this time, I disputed the charges with my bank and contacted GameStop again. This time, the RUDE, male, chauvinistic rep HUNG UP ON ME!
On Wednesday 5/15/19, I received an email from Tier One (GameStop) stating that these $40 fees would 'accumulate'. WHAT?!?! How does a ONE TIME PURCHASE for a single $40 digital gift card incur an accumulation? I replied to this email with CLEAR & CONCISE instruction that I NEVER want to invest another penny toward GameStop.
On Thursday 5/16/19, as I was reviewing my bank account I noticed that GameStop took a THIRD $40 FULL WITHDRAWAL from my bank account. Again, I contacted my bank to file another dispute & again, I contacted GameStop. This time, I spoke to Krisey (ID#**) who was RUDE and claimed to be the boss, when I asked for her Supervisor. Krisey, also, played unprofessional phone games while claiming to be on a broken telephone system. Krisey, too, ended the call by hanging up on me.
Now, I am left to work this out with my bank. The only resolution we can make is to cancel my credit card, altogether, so that GameStop cannot THIEVE anymore $40 transactions from my bank account. GameStop has done NOTHING to resolve this issue; in fact, they have accused me of LYING about the funds being deducted. I will NEVER do business with this SCAM CORP ever again and I will post this incident all over the internet so as to warn others from being ripped off like I have been.

Let me be real for a minute. I love the Gamestop store I live by, the people who work there could be considered family. Although I ordered something online ONE TIME. I order a PC that I can’t buy in store because I really wanted to give Gamestop my business. I get a good and fun delivery date of about 4 days later. Fantastic. Well turns out...no. I ordered on the 12th of April and it still says processing on the 18th? Well okay! So I followed my sad broken heart and went straight to Twitter as all good millennials do to solve their problems.
I very respectfully sent a message to Gamestop asking basically WTF? I assumed this computer was made third party and was understanding that maybe that company themselves was causing the hold up. I’m a fair sister you know? I got the typical, “Oh no, can you send us your info so we can look into it for you?” BS you know. Well it’s been 2 days now with no reply back. I’d say I’m definitely not the patient type but 8 DAYS Gamestop. It says right there on your pretty little website that you ship within 24 hours. It’s not that hard to send a message to say, "Hey it’s taking a little longer than expected, sorry," or, "Hey we’re thinking we can’t do this order right now." But nah. They’re like that ** ex that just leaves you hanging before they tell you that you suck.

I have saved my Gamestop Power Rewards points for several years now and DO NOT use them at all and save them for big purchases. In which I was saving for a new console come next year. My account was hacked and all of my points were used fraudulently. In fact, there is also a huge error as the person that hacked into my account and used my points have made my points now go into a negative balance. My original balance was approx 150k points which is equivalent to $150 in store credit. It is now negative almost $250k points which is equivalent to me owing $250 which is impossible. I not only have been a loyal member of the power rewards for years on top of years now, but I also pay for this membership and the ability to earn and save my points.
I contacted Gamestop immediately and was told an investigation would be opened and I would receive a call back. I did not receive a call back and it has now been 3 weeks. I call back today to be told that the decision was made not to give any of my points back. I was then denied the ability to speak to their fraud dept and that they have been receiving a lot of phone calls from other customers stating their account was compromised as well. In fact, both the representative I spoke to and the supervisor he directed me to both clearly stated several times that the fraud dept's decision is not right and a lot of customers have been really upset but they have no power to assist anyone.
For me to spend $1000's not 100's... Over $1000 this year alone with a company and also pay for a membership in which I can earn credit but not be helped and denied the chance to speak to whoever is making this decision is absolutely absurd. I use these points for myself and my 12 year old son. I have been robbed of my points and the store credit that I earned by SPENDING MONEY.
The person who fraudulently stole my points used them on digital Google Play cards in which I have never used or purchased in my entire life. My history on how I use my points is clearly visible and they have not been used in several years other than to renew my membership if need be. I am extremely upset that I spent all of these years buying from Gamestop and they have no care that I was screwed out of what I rightfully paid for and earned. On top of this, My account is STILL NEGATIVE IN POINTS. I have made 2 purchases in the past 3 weeks in which I received no points or credit for due to this.
Gamestop has been in and out of the news lately in reference to possibly going out of business and it is funny that this happens. Gaming is a major hobby and portion of not only my life by my child's life and I have invested a lot of money into it. I did not invest my money, time and loyalty to Gamestop to be screwed over. This is not a small amount of change we are speaking about and like I stated before I saved these points for SEVERAL years. I will be posting this on Google and every review outlet I can find.

With this, I am entitled to free two day shipping. Neat. Except that Gamestop instead charges an exorbitant handling fee that is over 5 dollars. After I placed the order, I tried cancelling it online only to have the website hang-up on me every time I went to submit a message requesting the cancellation - note that this was only a few minutes after placing the order. My son was so excited until he entered the 3rd gift card code into the computer. It gave him an error message that said, "This code has been deactivated." When we reported to GameStop they stated it was a "Microsoft Issue." When we contacted Microsoft they told us they could not help us because the retailer, (GameStop) sold us a "deactivated gift card." Microsoft said they should be the ones to return the money to us or issue us a new gift card. I tried contacted GameStop over 5 times and they kept telling me they were going to call me back but never did. I reached out to them via email. After the 2nd attempt they told me they weren't going to issue me a new card or reimburse the money. I requested to speak to his manager and he would not provide. He became very defensive and raised his voice at me more than once. I do not appreciate the intimidation nor the defensiveness. He told me it is “against their policy” to give us any information to contact a floor manager supervisor. I requested where I might find this information to verify what he claimed. He said it is an internal policy and I can’t see it.
I must admit, I had to laugh at this as it was the most ludicrous policy I had ever heard. I told him as such and explained I would be spreading the word and contacting corporate. He sarcastically offered me the CEOs number and told me he was ending the call multiple times when I requested to know information about him or his supervisor. Very rude and completely unacceptable. Emailed GameStop customer service an hour ago. We will see what their response entails.

If I could give a negative star rating this store would receive a -5! At the suggestion of a local store manager I placed an online order from them for a game my son desperately wanted because they didn't have in stock. I was guaranteed the game would b compatible with the new Xbox system he got for Christmas. I paid a premium to get this game in a hurry. It arrived three days after it was promised and there were 2 identical used copies of it, neither of which will work in his system.
Multiple attempts to reach the customer service number they provided on the invoice included in their package was met with a "Circuits Are Currently Busy" message regardless of the time of day! Out of options, I took both copies of this useless game to my store. I was offered 1/4 of what I JUST paid THEM to buy them back?! The arrogant desk flunkie had a 'sucks to be you' attitude that was infuriating! What recourse do I have in this matter? I don't think I'm ever buying anything online again! With the ratings they receive and the absence of anything you might call customer service, how do they manage to stay business!?

It is on sale till the first of the year." I said, "What if I come in this weekend and it is gone." He said, "We can send you one "free." It might just take 2 weeks to get there." I was just told he wasn't there." Reply, "Oh yeah, I am the floor manager at the moment."
I called back an hour later and the 2 young employees denied our interaction and the Manager believed them. Why would I lie and how would I know their names to make up a story if I didn't talk directly to them earlier??? The Manager REFUSED to give me the game at the price I was quoted. ($30.00). He said it was not $30.00 last week. It was $40.00. After a very dysfunctional conversation he said he would give it to me for $50.00. (It sells for $60.00.) I said if the $30.00 was an error and 2 sales people telling me it was $30 when It was $40.00 on sale - then a good businessman would give it to me for the sale price of $40.00. No problem making in store purchases, but online is the pits and customer service is worse and usually little to no help. I have had trouble with making online purchases in the past, but they were minor. I feel so stupid entrusting this site with my Christmas shopping this year. I should've run when the site kept glitching and not allowing me to order. I finally got my $325 order and chose delivery, since some items were not available in the store. I get my box Friday evening, open it and there is nothing I ordered in the box. The stuff in the box is only worth $14 and wasn't even the complete order attached to the invoice inside my box.
Here it is Saturday and they claim to not be able to help me, that I need to first send their items back then they will process a new order for me. They guarantee I will receive the day before Christmas. I ask how is that possible if they aren't going to process this until they receive the items back? Welp, he hung up instead of answering the question. I contacted the guy whose items I received (his contact info was inside the box). He tells me, "No problem. Just keep it or trade it in." He said he contacted GameStop and they just replaced his missing items no return necessary. He came out on top with $325 worth of merch and his items which made him only out about 14 bucks...
If you're going to shop with them, I suggest going to the store or picking up at store. Also, use PayPal, the last time I used a card on their site my card info was stolen. At this point, the only way I can save Christmas for my son is go to the store and hope it's available... The products ordered were the only things he requested and he's such a sweet kid, he deserves to get them.

We cancelled our order before the release date, we got an email confirming our cancellation. Then magically when the release date came they took $100 dollars out of our account. We called immediately to tell them we had cancelled and can they please cancel it again and refund us. The wait was over an hour on the phone. When we got through, mind you the same day the order went through, they said it was too late to cancel because it had already been processed and shipped. The best we could do is wait for the package and then physically bring it to a store to return.
So weeks go by and online our order is sitting in processing. We have not received any tracking or shipping information. We call again, wait 35 minutes. The guy says sorry and that he will prioritize our shipping. So finally we get tracking and UPS is to deliver on a Thursday. My fiance had the day off and waiting for UPS. We get a notice that it has been delivered via email but yet no one knocked on the door or delivered it. Now, I know that is a UPS issue, however it took us 5 hours and 3 phone calls to get Gamestop to finally issue us a refund. The first two times they were refusing to talk to us because we could not verify our phone number, because they apparently had some random wrong phone number listed on our account. We finally logged in online and looked up the order to try and see what number they had. It was some random number neither of us recognized.
The wait times for customer service are ridiculous, hours long. The people are obviously in India or somewhere and have very little control over what they can actually do to help you. When I called them to inquire about my order the representative told me that toy is out of stock. I asked her how can it be out of stock and I not receive one when I pre-ordered it. She couldn't answer that question and couldn't even let me know when it will be back in stock because it falls on the manufacturer, Funko.
The problem isn't the manufacturer, it's Gamestop! They accept a large amount of demand for a product prior to even getting an idea of how much they will be getting of that product! When you pre-order a product it's because you are telling them company to hold that product for you on the day of it's released. It's a means to guaranteeing you get what you want to purchase! How can you accept pre-orders and not deliver on selling the product?!
To top it off they even charged me! They never got in touch with me to let me know it's out of stock, they have no clue when they will be receiving more of the product, they charged me for the product and I'm suppose to just sit around and wait until they find out. Red Dead PS4 pro bundle. Came with $50 gift card. Next day 23rd I get an email stating bank declined card. Called the bank had them take the fraud alert off my card. Then called GameStop. The lady said everything was good to go. The order was going to process. The next couple days I would check the online status and it would still say Processing...
Finally got a hold of someone the 29th and they said it was canceled! Wait... What? Ok. So they cancelled my order. But there was a $50 charge on my account from them that same day they cancelled the order. I asked what that was for then. He said it was for the digital gift card they sent me. It's got a zero balance! So already they stole $50 dollars from me. Blows my mind!
But wait. It gets better... So while I was on the phone with that guy. He told me he would put in another order. Plus he would give me free two day shipping. That was on the Dec. 3. I was finally relieved thinking everything was going to work out. Was going to wait till I got this console then I would proceed about the $50 dollars they stole from me. Baby steps...
So Dec. 4 I get an email from them saying order is on hold because the bank declined my order. Seriously... we're doing this again??? I call my bank. They said it's not a fraud hold that they removed that last week. This time was the expiration dates on the card not matching up. Wow... So not only are they hard to understand. Evidently we are too. So I called GameStop again! Got some women she had no idea what was going on. I asked to talk to somebody higher up. She transferred me. I thought alright now we are gonna get somewhere... Guy picks up the phone and I proceed to fill him in. When I heard a clicking noise! Yep he hung up on me!!
At this point I don't even know what to do or where to go with this. Every number I find goes right back to the same people I've been dealing with. Even waited 2 hrs and 4 mins. Still have never got a person on the phone. Now my credit card is being charged all these charges I didn't purchase. Went to the store for them to tell me they can't help with anything. What kind of place is this? I would never ever buy anything again. This store sucks.

Last eve in the Boulder GameStop my 13 year old took 15-20 minutes to convince us to buy a PS4 game he couldn’t afford yet. We checked the price listing and decide to purchase for him and he would get it from us when he made the money. As we checked out we were told the price was from Black Friday and hadn’t been changed... The actual price was $10 more. That’s it, no apology, no offer to honor the price clearly listed on the product. Poor customer service and verrry disappointed customer.

I am so disappointed right now, I ordered 2 items online that are supposed to be new. One of the items was opened, and the other wasn't even in the box. After reading that some orders are send in multiple shipments, I tracked my order and it's delivered. Main reason for buying online is convenience, and this is anything but. The box it was shipped in didn't look tampered with at all. I went to my local Gamestop today and was told he can order a new product to replace the one I got that was clearly used even though it was purchased new. As for the missing item he told me to call to address the missing item.
I got home called the number only to get the message the queue is over 2 hrs long, so I opted for a callback. When I finally got to speak with someone it was a woman whose Indian accent was so thick I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. When I explained my situation she told me she would have to have UPS track the package even though I explained that I received the 1 of 1 package. There is no missing package, but that my order wasn't filled. She must have put me on hold over 20 times, so I asked to speak with someone else. She then transferred me to a line where I have been on hold for over an hour. I think it's time to just call my bank and report them for fraud.

I ordered a PS4 on Cyber Monday, I get the game I ordered and not the console. My order has been processing for the past week, on top of the fact I paid extra for overnight shipping. I've spent over 2 hours on hold trying to talk to someone, I hope they let me cancel my order and I will buy one in store. Tired of the boloney, avoid their online services and share an experience in store. Much better in store.

I placed an order on 11/21/18 for the Nintendo Switch Bundle with $50 gift card. The next morning, I woke up to an alert stating the bank declined my call. I reached out to Gamestop. The lady that answered the phone was HORRIBLE! Her accent was so strong, I couldn't understand a thing she was saying and I knew she wasn't understanding me either. I gave her my order number and she gave me 5 different items, none of which I had ordered. She couldn't find my order at all. After an hour, I asked to speak to someone else and I got hung up on! I called again the next day and the guy who answered found my order in 5 minutes and advised that there was a hold on my order that he was going to remove so my order could be processed.
The next day I received the gift card via email which showed a $0 balance. I was getting nervous but decided to give it some time. The next day, it showed a balance of $50 which was much better. After a few days of seeing the Nintendo Switch order go from "OPEN" to "PROCESSING" and reading all these horrible reviews, I decided to call GameStop to follow up again. The lady who answered said the order is looking good and I should be receiving it soon. She did tell me that their Black Friday sales have really slowed them down but that regardless, I should be receiving my Switch within a week. To my surprise, the very next day I received the shipping confirmation!
By Friday I received my Switch! In all, my order was completely delivered in 9 days. I ordered on 11/21, received the gift card with $50 balance on 11/27 and my Nintendo Switch Bundle on 11/30. Yes some of the customer service reps were horrible, and the waiting on hold was also horrible, but I give at least 3 stars because I received my order!

The automatic email I received informing me about the ship date included instructions for changing the shipping status, billing address, payment method, etc. Those instructions returned another automatic email suggesting that I change my shipping status on the website (there was no active option to do this on the website, unfortunately). But also said that I should expect a reply from a representative within 24-48 hours.
After I failed to get any additional response from that email for a couple of days, I called the customer support line and was informed that the order was in 'processing' and so *no* information whatsoever could be changed - they refused to cancel the order, too. Funny thing is it's not even the same order number as Mario Party. I get worried that my game won't arrive so I call tech support and the first time I wait for about an hour and get kicked off the line before speaking with anyone. I try calling a little while later, even though they said it would be a 15 minute wait I was kept waiting for an hour and a half.
When I finally talked to someone they seemed clueless to what I was talking about for the first 5 minutes and then asked for the card name and order name and even though the order and everything was placed in my name because I used my girlfriend's card to buy it they refused to tell me anything unless she was on the phone. She was at work so it was impossible to do this but they did not care even though everything else was under my name and we share the same address.
After this I asked to speak to a supervisor but he said the supervisor was there already telling him what to say! All he said after this was the supervisor had told him that red flags appeared and he just kept saying, "I'm sorry but I can't assist you any longer," over and over. So now I'm left wondering if my game is coming or if I'll get a refund for it and if I want to try to call them again it will have to be the only day my girlfriend has off since she works during the day most of the week and we'll need to sit there for an hour and a half again to have customer service treat us like we don't matter.
If anyone on this website is even thinking about ordering from Gamestop online don't do it. I pre-ordered the NHL 19 from the PlayStation Store on September 4th. I had a VISA gift card I wanted to use and saw the Gamestop was offering the NHL Legends Edition Upgrade for $19.99. So on Sunday September 9th, I went into my local Gamestop and talked to an employee. I asked him, "If I buy this upgrade will I get three days Early access (be able to play game on the 11th) plus the legends edition content." He said, "Yes, as long as you have the base game." I said, "Yes I pre-ordered the Base game from the PS store a few days ago." He said, "Then yeah you’d get early access." So I paid in full and the employee said, "Come back tomorrow night (Monday 9/10) at 6 pm to get your code so you can play when the game releases (Tuesday 12 am/ET)."
So I return Monday night and another employee prints out my receipt with a -2 digit code to use on the store. Again I'm ensured I’ll be able to play in three hours. So I get home and punch in the code - it says confirmed. Great the code worked. I check my installed game on my PS4 XMB and it still has a countdown timer or 2 days plus. I'm like that’s weird but just think maybe it will override it at 9 pm.
Just before 12 am ET/9 pm PT Monday and I'm on Party chat with my friends on PS4 waiting for the game to unlock. The timer still hasn’t changed on my game (still hasn’t changed from 2 days). Now I'm a bit nervous and feel that something isn’t right. Turns out it isn’t. 9 pm - my friends launch their game and it works no problem. Mine won't start still says pre-order. Even though under add-ons it says “Deluxe Edition” installed. I call EA and they say just to be patient and give it time and wait until Tuesday. I say ok. Tuesday, early morning I tweet at EAHelp and a couple hours later I get a reply. The person I talked via DM on twitter was very helpful and said it could be a code error or wrong code and advised I talk to GameStop but that maybe Sony Chat could help.
I decided to contact Sony Playstation Support by Phone as GameStop wasn’t open yet. Spoke with Sony Phone rep who was very help and tried all the troubleshooting steps (uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling game, restoring licenses, etc.) she could think of but nothing worked. She said that there was nothing else she could and advised that I was out of luck because Playstation doesn’t provide refunds on pre-orders. I replied ok. She apologized for not being able to help and again stated (unsolicited) that they don’t provide refunds on pre-orders. During the phone support call she had me try and download the game from my account from store via website to PS4, but I kept getting a download error. She said that was an EA issue.
So I called EA and the advisor was also confused as to why my game was locked. He worked with a Game Specialist and said if I was having a download issue to call Sony back. I told him Sony said it was EA’s issue. He said no it was on Sony’s end. So about 10 am I decide to try Gamestop and go back into my local store and spoke to the only employee there and he was very nice provides me with a new code saying maybe the code was defective but I should get the early access. I get home and decide that I should just check with Sony PlayStation just in case something was missed, before I input the new code.
So I called Sony and got a very rude woman who said after reviewing my previous phone call that she would not go through the troubleshooting steps again because they won't work because the code only granted me access to the content and early access and that the new code wouldn’t work either. I said that's not what GameStop said, I asked to speak to a supervisor to provide feedback. I'm transferred to a supervisor who was very helpful and confirmed that the code GameStop sold only provided me content and not three days early access. I said that was weird and he suggested talking to GameStop again.
So I hopped back into my car and the employee that helped me was still there. Told him the day I've been through and he was very helpful and said that yeah maybe the code only for the content and not early access. He was helpful but said with codes not anything he could do - he tried but the system wouldn’t let him refund it. I told him it wasn’t really about the money it was more about being told more than once Id get early access and the not getting it. So I slog home disappointed.
I wake up Wednesday and later that day find out that someone else I know online got the base game and the upgrade edition code from GameStop and is playing early. So I'm like something is missing here. Why am I being denied early access (which is now almost over as game releases on Friday at 12 am ET aka 9 pm PT on Thursday for me). I press on...
I called my local GameStop and explained to him the issues I've been having. He checks his system and says “Yeah looks like the code requires the base game”. I tell him I have the base game - got it from the PS Store last week. He says that's weird and suggests I call GameStop Customer Service, as they have more power than he does at the store.
So I call GameStop Customer Service and after almost an hour on hold I get a Rep who is helpful and gathers the information and keeps coming back from putting me on hold to get more information. Finally he comes back and says that he found out the issue - I need to buy the Base Game AND Upgrade Edition at Gamestop in order to get early access. He said since I purchased the game at the PlayStation store and the code at GameStop that I only qualify for the content and not early access. I said that's not what the GameStop store said. He apologized and said if he had a code he’d give me one but he didn’t and there was nothing he could do to remedy the situation. I said, "I would like to speak to a supervisor," and he said they’d give me the same information. I said, "I'd still like to speak to supervisor." So he transferred me.
I explained to the supervisor that I was unhappy and disappointed that there were multiple chances to inform me of the correct information and that if I had received that prior to purchase I may have decided not to purchase if I was told I would not get early access. He apologized and he didn’t have any power to do anything and said all he could do is relay information to the District Manager of my local GameStop. I said will the employee I spoke to on the phone said he didn’t have any power either. The supervisor apologized but reiterated he had no power other than to provide information to the store’s DM. I said, "Yes, please send it."
I was calm but firm in my calls and only once got a little fluster with EA Advisor only because he kept interrupting me. Inside I was seething. Not about early access, that's really only part o the issue. The bigger issue is being sold something then not getting it because of incorrect information. So I took a little bit to cool off, and then decide I should write a short review on the product page just giving people a heads up that if you purchase the NHL Legends Edition Upgrade you must have purchased the game itself at GameStop as well or you won't receive three days early access. I get an email early Thursday from GameStop saying that they have decided not publish my review as it doesn’t meet their guidelines. Me: Lol, of course.
Here is that review: "Just a tip to people interested in this as a potential upgrade to the Legends Edition - even though the standard game is almost out now. This will only get you early access IF you purchased the Base game at Gamestop or on Gamestop.com. If you Purchased the Standard Edition on the PS Store, purchasing this Upgrade will only provide you access to the content and not early access. I never had an issue with GameStop before this and the employees at my local store are really nice and helpful. It was miscommunication that created this issue that could have been avoided with the following: Employee: "Just to let you know, if you didn’t purchase the game here at GameStop, then this NHL 19 Legends Edition Upgrade will give you the content from Legends Edition but not the three days early release. Do you still want to purchase this?” It also would have avoided GameStop potentially losing a customer because they seem to refuse to make me, the customer happy. If they do end up making it right, I’ll update this review, but them refusing to post the review, while within their rights as it's their website just infuriated me and brought me post here.

I have been almost 2 months in working with Gamestop on an issue. I never received an item that I had paid for and they have offered to refund my money via e-Gift card. It's been over 3 weeks since I was offered the e-gift card and have not heard back. I am not sure who runs their Customer Service at that organization but they obviously do not care. Will never make a purchase from Gamestop again.

I go up and give the guy my receipt and the 6 workers there all do not have a clue what they're doing and they have to call the manager and ask him what it is. When the game and box is sitting right behind them. They tell me that they have not shipped yet and will be in tomorrow. So now even though they had it and they even picked it up a few times and looked at it. I have to go to the store again which is a 30 minute drive and get what they already had.

They promised to send me a replacement gift card, but reneged on that promise. Now I do not have the games nor my money. Worse yet, the gift cards were gift for my son which he got for his BD, Christmas, etc. His younger sister used her allowance money to get him one of those cards. Purchased a gift card on August 14th. Gamestop sent me an email with instructions on how to download the code, where it stated that I had to log in to my order history in order to download the code. The order history was empty. I contacted them by email right away. No one gotten back to me. The following day called them. The representative gave me the code, which did not work. I read the code back to him twice and he said that was the code. Called them again. Another representative said the code was off in two characters. So I entered the new code while she waited on the call. The error message said the code has been used.
Now they told me to contact Sony. Contacted Sony and they said it's Gamestop's issue. Wrote Gamestop another email and gotten no response once again. To call their support means to spend another 30-40 minutes waiting for someone to answer and then you are not guaranteed you get someone who know what he/she is doing. Just did a chargeback on my credit card. And after only ten minutes of me submitting this review on their website, I received an email from Gamestop that they will not be posting my review.

This is a really short version of events. I am a long time customer of Gamestop having bought in excess of 200 games. Recently, I expected to collect 2 pre-ordered games and they said that I didn't pay for them. They are now working to take a third pre-paid game. I called corporate to fix the problem but they too say I do not have my last pre-order game listed on the account. I have contacted the Il. Attorney General's office and sent them proof that I had one. Because of the prior bad experiences, I saved a screenshot of the last pre-order on my phone. I usually pay the full amount of $60 or better on a pre-order. I have done this many times over many years without a problem; Never again.

Because their corporate is a joke & doesn't care about customer complaints - check this out. I called in yesterday to customer service inquiring about a promo code I found online. They told me they couldn't accept it but offered me a $10 discount as a courtesy. I countered by saying that the promo code is also listed on their website, then my phone died and I decided to not call back because I had already waited over an hour to get some sort of resolution. The day after I called back. The same person answered & I asked for the $10 discount I was offered the previous day. With a snarky attitude, she asked me why I didn't accept it yesterday, put me on hold to check notes & told me that the discount had expired and there are no more discounts left. I said that it wasn't a coupon, but a courtesy & courtesies don't expire - (you know that's kind of the point of customer service).
I asked to speak with a supervisor - she said that wasn't possible - (I spoke to one the previous day, so I know it was). I told her if can speak to anyone else can do the job better & she hung up on me, which kicked me out onto the hold line - I dialed in to speak to someone again using a different department (gift cards) & guess what? It's the same female (who told me her is Jane) for the 3rd time. I've never been hung up on by a customer service rep from a company as large as Gamestop. I was going to buy a couple of gaming systems and video games but I take my business to other companies that actually know what customer service is & until Gamestop realizes what it is. Posting this review on other sites & telling many friends/families. Bye :)

This company is literally the worst company online we've EVER dealt with. We made an online purchase in early June. Supposedly the order had been shipped but tracking showed that USPS never received it. Emails to customer service were never responded to. Spent 30 minutes exactly on hold listening to their on hold ads only to have the phone call magically disconnected 2 minutes into conversation with the customer service agent, "coincidentally" just when he was about to tell us what happened to the package.
Spent another 30 minutes on hold exactly to speak to another service agent who claimed that the package must've gotten lost in the warehouse and they were going to ship another one. Same thing happened again. We don't believe they even had the product in stock. This time we demanded a refund. They said it would take 3-5 business days. It's been 2 weeks and no refund processed, which means we get to spend another 30 minutes of our time dealing with this nonsense. Absolute ripoff!

I have a client who lives out of the country, and collects special editions of video games. Since Gamestop has a lot of exclusives, I am unfortunately, forced to make pre-orders from their online shop. Their online shop is an absolute disaster, and there is virtually ZERO customer support. Once you make a purchase online, you are on your own. You can try calling, but that can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour, and if you do reach someone, good luck with them having even a clue about your situation; they're awful. You can attempt to email customer service, but guess what? They actually never ever reply. Yes, you read that right, they literally will never respond to your email. You will only get an automated response that the initial email was received. I've never in my life experienced such astoundingly-poor customer service.
And here just a few of the issues I had to deal with: Last year (2017), three of my credit cards were compromised because GameStop had a hack, but they failed to notify customers for OVER A MONTH! I had to discover unusual activity on my accounts and put a stop weeks before letters went out to their customers warning them to contact their bank. THEIR SYSTEM WILL DEFAULT TO AUTOMATICALLY SAVING YOUR CREDIT CARD AT CHECKOUT. TRUST ME, UNCHECK IT!
We have received several parcels which were limited editions that were poorly packed and arrived crushed. They have no concept of the various materials that make up certain types of packaging. Special Edition products lose their value when they come smashed, and it's a collector's worst nightmare. They'll throw a $150.00 game in a flat mailer, and not even the protective bubble type. We are talking a completely flat cardboard mailer! Only when it's too big for these mailers will they use a box.
Just recently (which drove me to post this entire complaint), they decided to charge me for something that was shipped and charged five months ago. They actually duplicated an order they sent FIVE MONTHS AGO. I couldn't figure out what the charge was when I looked at my bank account, so I kept looking at any current pre-orders that possibly were getting ready to ship. No, that was not the issue. I had to go all the way back to early March to find the duplicate issue. I emailed them immediately, but got no response. The parcel has arrived today, and now I have to go through the hassle of returning it for a refund. Who has time for this?
This company is an abomination. If it weren't for my client, I wouldn't spend a penny at this disorganized, mess of a chain. Thankfully, he's the one paying for it as I would never support such a poorly run business. People, if you're purchasing video games for yourself, your kids, relatives, friends, whatever. Go to Amazon, Best Buy or Walmart if you have to. Oh, and their shipping prices are a scam. They charge by the individual item, so if you buy a basic game disc that weighs under 5 oz, they'll charge about $5.00, but each game you add on they will charge an additional $5.00. So, for 3 games, easily still under a pound, they'll charge you $15.00!! How insane is that? They should be going by weight like most honest retailers.

There are numerous reasons I dislike GameStop! Never once have I had a good experience in any of the stores I have visited over the years. Seems like they just got worse! Do I need to know where to begin! How about they rip you off every chance they get! They overcharge on some merchandise for starters. One time I had to get the power of words so I had to pay for a membership I wasn’t going to use. Then they gave me the subscription to the magazine I never said I wanted and threw in the trash. Would not refund me that. You spent all this money there and get a few measly reward points. Did you have to buy a bunch of other stuff to build them up to even get rewards. That whole concept is just messed up.
You shouldn’t have to buy a membership that you always have to renew in order to get rewards. What little reward you get after so long is ridiculous! A rewards program should be a free program that offers you rewards for shopping in their store like most other companies offer. The company should not be making money off the program that shows appreciation for customers and offers them benefits in their store.
The buy sell trade idea is a joke and that’s the biggest rip off and what makes me disgusted the most. So I bought a console and games from them. Sometime later I needed money so I sold it back at a disgustingly unreasonable low price. It’s almost laughable at what they offer for sell and trade. Then what they will do is put all my merchandise back on the shelf and triple the price. Then turn around and do it to some other naive unsuspectingly customer. Yeah they gave me a third of what I paid for the used merchandise in the first place. Then they wouldn’t void the transaction and stated that they are not a pawnshop. So I basically just got screwed right in my face! Buy sell trade should never have existed there. Because GameStop is not reasonable and too greedy.
Associates are Expected to almost harass you while you are in the store with suggestions do you want to buy this and that and all kinds of about pre-sales and dumb promotions. Half the time they go even have what I’m looking for. So I am they are feeling disappointed and having to look and see if I can find something else of similarity. At times I have found that some merchandise that usually comes with certain accessories and such does not come with it at GameStop and you have to spend more money to purchase whatever is needed with it.
I have never ever left GameStop after all these years. With that good experience and there’s always some kinda disappointment. ALWAYS. So this last time I swore to myself I will never step foot In a Game Stop ever again. I miss the good old days when there was Hastings and a variety of gaming stores I could choose from and not have to worry about getting a good deal or ripped off! eBay and Amazon are the way to go today! Definitely NOT GameStop NOT for anything!

I purchased a game (State of Decay 2 Ultimate Edition Xbox One) in store, physical disc. I get home and wait several hours for it to install. Once finished I go to play the game but it stays on the same loading screen forever. This issue is common and I began trying the various troubleshooting methods. Like most people this still didn't work so with the receipt (less than a week from purchase) I went back to the same store to get a refund. They will not refund new games that have been opened. They are only give me another disk stating that the disk was defective but they had just given their last copy away for the same issue but I can drive to a different store. Suspecting it was the game itself and not the disc I asked what I needed to do to get a refund. Contact Microsoft they say. Wrong move there because that is how I discovered that it is most definitely not a disc issue.
The problem is with the game and Microsoft has been aware since 5/22/2018 when they posted it on the main Live Status Page. Had I purchased from Microsoft they would be happy to refund my money but since it was Gamestop I have to go through them. So I called back to the store I was just in citing my new knowledge asking if I, could get a refund since Microsoft confirms that there is a major game (not disc) defect but again I am told no from the store manager. "We can only give you another disc." I took this matter to their corporate offices stating that they had the same responsibility to stand behind the products they sell just as the manufacturer does but still they refused any sort of refund for selling a defective product.
I try to submit reviews for the game on their website so people are aware of the issue and every time they are "moderated" and removed. Now I have turned to the BBB complaint #**. I suspect this will also not resolve anything as their first response told me to contact the developer (just like their go to in-store response was) despite stating in my original complaint my detailed conversation I already had with Microsoft. Clearly they didn't even read it.

I called to fix the issue and everything seemed easy enough, a few days later when I received the package it was just another copy of the New Super Mario Bros. So now I'm a little angry that I still don't have the original game I purchased. I call back again, they said that they are sorry and will fix this. I told them that I can just take the game back to a Gamestop but they said it doesn't matter for the situation. So I ask about the game I didn't receive, the guy said it will ship in 3-5 business days. It is now 2 weeks later and still nothing. I call again to see what's going on, it's not that hard to ship a game that weighs next to nothing.
Now I get a lady that says they aren't able to send a replacement game since they already sent a replacement, even though it was the last guy's fault I got the same game I already have. So now I am supposed to get a refund in another 5-7 days and I will have to go to the closest store hoping that they even have the game. Just such an inconvenience. I would not recommend buying bigger orders online that are apparently too complicated for their warehouse to successfully complete your order. You're better off just going to the store to begin with and getting all of the items that same day. Gamestop, I know you're really trying to get online sales since not as much people go to your stores anymore to buy games, but please try to improve the process of maybe having your warehouse or stores, wherever is in charge of sending out the orders, and having them double check orders before shipping. This should cut problem cases in half at least. Thank you.

I was shopping one day and in line waiting to check out when an irate associate approached me and told me to hurry up or leave. I said that I was waiting in line to check out, that I'd be on my way after that with no issue. She then changed her mind and told me to leave now or she'd call the police. I asked to speak to a manager and the employee started cussing at me, she called her girlfriend into the store who began harassing me, and she threw receipts at me as I checked out with another associate. I complained to corporate but the manager actually deleted the security footage so corporate thought I was lying, but nonetheless told me they'd handle it. I waited until I received a callback from corporate before I returned to the store.
On my next visit, that same employee was there and she immediately began cussing at me and when I was ready to check out, she started saying "they can help you at our other location" and wouldn't serve me. She continued hurling insults at me and I admittedly lost my temper and broke an item (a t.v. monitor) and tossed the socks I was holding across the counter saying that she could put them back. I know I was wrong and I do regret breaking the item. However, that doesn't justify their behavior and what happened next was highly illegal, even felonious, but all condoned by Gamestop management. I called the manager and offered to pay for the broken item but she refused, saying she wanted to involve the police. When the police arrived, she lied about the cost of the item, saying it was 2,000 dollars which affected the charge I was given.
They also had me charged with assault because I tossed the socks. Afterwards, the employee who started the whole issue filed a no-contact order against me claiming that I was stalking her, which was disproven in court and the order was dismissed. In that hearing, she once again stated that the item was worth $2,000. The manager also told the courts it was worth 2,000 and they persisted with this lie until my lawyer demanded a receipt. Furthermore, my lawyer filed a subpoena for the video surveillance to prove that I was accosted and provoked, but GameStop directly refused the court order and destroyed the video except for the moment that I broke the monitor. The evidence was inadmissible in court because of their tampering. The actual cost of the item was only $89.
The two employees who literally perjured their comments were also slandering me and saying that I was stalking the employee who started it all. I have had no contact with this employee outside of the incidents described. I have taken responsibility for my actions and paid restitution already (thankfully the charges were dismissed in court). GameStop never even so much as apologized for their behavior. They have literally committed felony perjury against me and nothing has been done. I will never shop at any GameStop location or online again. They are willing to commit crimes against their customers.

I was told 12/22/17 that my Trade Credit had expired after trying to redeem at my local store. I called a number the store employee gave me (even though it states specifically on the card it does not). Pointed this out and was put on hold only to hear lie 2. 2. I was told my card was redeemed on Dec 2016 (which unless someone broke into my storage unit, found my card, redeemed it and put it back into my storage without any indication: this is impossible. The card was in storage until June of this year where it was a bit warped by heat and still wrapped in the original receipt). I explained this and was put on hold to hear lie 3.
3. I was told it was redeemed for cash sometime in Jan of this year, I demanded to know what store/time/date as to put them on the spot, they could not tell me (I explained again this is impossible based on the reason stated above)…was put on hold again to be told lie 4. 4. I was told it was redeemed on May 4th 2015 (I explained that that was the date I sold my Xbox/controllers/games for trade credit and this was the day the card was loaded…the employee then stated “oh, that’s right”) was put on hold again to wait for lie 5.
5. I was told that I would need to escalated my claim to a different number and I would receive my gift card in 3-5 business days (I called the number the next day) I was told lie 6. 6. (I RECORDED THIS CALL) I called given number and spoke to Jesus. I explained all of the above again in detail the circumstance of my situation and told them I was calling to get my credit returned to me, and was told immediately that my card had been redeemed in Sept of 2016, I demanded to know date/time/store again because this was impossible and was putting them on the spot to prove their lie. I was put on hold again to be told lie #7.
7. My card was redeemed on 12/16/16 @9:13 am! I immediately argued that the stores don’t even open that early, and was put on hold again being told I was to be handed to a supervisor (which technically would be lie #8 I guess because I was not transferred to a supervisor). 8. Jesus came back and asked for my contact information including my email stating that in 3 business days I would receive in my email my trade credit balance in the form of an electronic gift card.9. It is now 4 business days later and nothing is in my email/spam from Gamestop. This company has nothing credible to offer to a consumer.

I received a handful of GameStop gift cards from friends a few years ago. They totaled $70. Looking at the fine prints, the gift cards do not expire. When I went to the store to use them, they told them the cards have been used which is impossible since the pin numbers have not been scratched yet. They told me to call their 1-800 number. I called and waited 20 minutes to speak to Customer Service who confirmed the cards have not been used; they were de-activated. They promised to issue me virtual credits. They took down my information and my email. They said the credit will take a week to issue. I don't know why since that's a long time for me to wait and use money that belongs to me. I asked for a confirmation number. They insisted a confirmation number is not necessary.
Would you be surprised if I tell you a week later, I never received my virtual credit? I didn't even receive an email confirming I called and reported the problem. I am calling their 1-800 number right now and is on a 60-minute wait due to high call volume. It's really unacceptable. I'm not optimistic this issue would be resolved properly. I will never buy their gift cards or any online credits ever again.

I ordered a figure from Gamestop's online store recently and was extremely dissatisfied with my purchase. I am not a serious collector of figurines by any means, but when my order arrived, I noticed that the box had been previously opened. Once I removed the figure from its packaging, I also noticed it was covered in dust, so while Gamestop's site said this was a brand new figure, it was obviously a floor model that they sold me. While I rarely post reviews, I was disappointed, and so I left honest feedback through their 'review' system. I just received an email from Gamestop rejecting my review. For those of you who may think I said something unsavory, this is my review verbatim:
"Great statue, false advertising. For the most part the figure is in good shape, but I am giving this a 2 star review because: 1. There are a few dings on the figure. 2. I noticed the box was open when I received it (the seal was cut) and 3. The figure was covered in dust. I can only assume that this was a display piece in one of your stores. The sales page lists this item as new, but it certainly was NOT! Very disappointed in this purchase."
I tried contacting their customer service number and just sat on hold. The 'contact us' options on their website are non-existent. With all of the other purchasing options available now, and after my poor treatment, I believe my many years of doing business with this company has finally come to an end. Since they apparently won't allow negative experience posts on their website, I just decided to leave this experience here as a warning to others.

Lies and horrible overseas "customer service": Ok, so I sat on the phone a total of almost six hours trying to get a hold of ANYONE to cancel this order that was placed by mistake and no one ever did answer the phone. Very very unimpressed with their mobile AND desktop site, as neither one allowed me to cancel this order even after trying immediately. When I finally did get someone this morning (after waiting another hour and a half) they refused to cancel the order even though it HAS NOT been shipped, still says open and isn't even in the process of being packaged. It even says on their website that there will be shipping delays since they're so busy or whatever which ticks me off even more, they don't WANT you to cancel anything, their company is tanking! And it's obvious why that is!!
After reading many reviews and feedback online, I see this is not in my case an exception. This happens to almost 100% of their customers who try to cancel or edit their order. I am also very disturbed about the reviews on this company saying that people's credit card information has been stolen and that the site isn't secure.
All I wanted to do was change my order to a NON refurbished console, which would actually have gained them more money but I WILL certainly be returning the $335 dollars worth of merchandise I purchased and take my business elsewhere. Won't even risk removing anything from the package, going straight back to the crooks. I've honestly never experienced such horrible customer service or dealt with a WORSE website as far as functionality goes in my entire life. Also, the fact that I wasted over 8 hours of my life dealing with this company makes me incredibly salty as well, and I will definitely be telling all of my 2800 Facebook and Instagram followers about my experience unless this is remedied.
Thanks in advance for anything you choose to do to make this right, GAMESTOP. And to those considering them for ANYTHING this holiday season, I would strongly advise against it. Make sure to read other reviews online, boy I wish I had! This crap will probably ruin my kids' Xmas and I am SUPER hot about it, shame on these jerks!!!

The website has nothing to help customers, not even proof of your order history, no email or chat for customer service. You finally find a phone number that says they are available anytime and call to find out they have certain hours of operation... But there is a feedback button if you get their app. Got the app, sent email, been two days and no response. Bought 2 Nintendo 3DS, one came in a bubble lined mailer envelope. Let me repeat that, our $110 refurbished electronic device containing a lithium ion battery came in an envelope.
Neither package contained a proper receipt showing that we also paid for the 2 year warranty. When we tried to return the product in the store, the nice associates commented that they hate the warehouse and that they were unsure how to proceed to get me my money back. There was NO RETURN LABEL in the package, either.
I spent more than 3 hours over two phone calls over two days to talk for 15 minutes to a real person who did not understand some of what I was saying. After all that, I finally have a return label that supposedly will not cost me anything, but no lithium ion label for the package. But I am promised a supervisor who knows what I am talking about will get back to me today. The incomplete shipping invoice even states that a lithium ion label is required. What they did for me was to type it in the description of the label so that it looks like I am shipping lithium ion batteries! That would require a hazardous shipping bill. SMH. GameStop- if you are going to have a business, you need to have business support. Hire people in America to handle calls within our country and then train them as to what business they are actually working for! Then put customer service links into your website.

12/4/17 Went to GameStop at South Beach Parkway in Jacksonville Beach FL to purchase a game for Christmas for my son. I typically avoid GameStop because I've generally not been impressed with the stores; in this case, it was next to another store I visited so I tried to save time. The game is a download only game, and as such, the only way to purchase is by taking one of the many display cards to the register at which time they will print a redemption code on your receipt. I purchased the game for my son. When I was done checking out, the store leader, Alexander didn't give me the display card (which also has the download instructions on the back) along with my receipt. I asked for the card, and he stated that I couldn't have it. I said that doesn't make sense, and I know that similar games I've purchased at Best Buy do come with the card.
Alex's response was "this isn't Best Buy." I told Alex that if he wasn't going to give me the card, then I wanted my money returned. He attempted to return my money, and then stated "the system isn't allowing me to return your money," handed me the receipt and card, then stated "don't ever come here again." I am more than shocked at his behavior, rudeness, and clear intentional violation of Gamestop’s published corporate core values. I told him that I would be reporting his behavior to Corporate, and his response was "no you won't, and I really don't care." I will never provide Gamestop with future business. Further, as a senior leader at a fortune 100, I'm fully aware that employees demonstrating such behaviors and statements is clearly learned through corporate culture. I did attempt to talk with a corporate customer service person. However, after being on hold for 42 minutes, I gave up. Buyer beware.

On the 16, I still did not see any tracking information so I called corporate and told them that I could not possibly receive the products on the 17th if they still were not even shipped to UPS. They said, "Oh well it looks like it got lost in the mail, we will have to issue a replacement." I was then told that the replacement would be here on Thanksgiving day the 23rd.
On the 24th I called back and said I still have not received it. They said well everything looks good on our end you should be receiving it by Monday the 27th. Again I looked it up and had no tracking information. I did get an email from ups that said it had been delayed. I finally received the products on the 27th. At this point I had called them 5 different times and waited on hold at least 30 minutes each time. When one of the games arrived it looked like it had gotten wet at one point. As the game is over a month old I assumed a day or two until I received it until I saw the receipt stating almost a two week wait. I obviously assumed one of their horses on their team pulling the wagon that hauls their shipments must have thrown a shoe or else their game production facility was striking again.
My wife returned to the store after an hour waiting on the phone to cancel the order only to find out the not only would Gamestop not cancel the order but also would not return my trades unless we paid the new cost that they would be selling my games for. So after the store finally opened, at 10:00 am, the guy told me, with an attitude, that they didn't have it in stock yet, that they were "in transit" and that I didn't have to call corporate to find out if they had in stock. I proceed to call Corporate, again, and now they are saying that they never told anyone that they were going to have any console available today and that I would have to wait in line when it becomes available, like the rest.
I was transferred to 3 different "supervisors" but the last one, Nathan Supervisor at corporate, was the worst one. No human empathy whatsoever, I asked for them to review the notes and listen to the conversation that I had and he said that he will, but will be handled internally and that I still will have to wait when it becomes online and do the line like everyone else, after I spent 3 hours waiting for the store to open and 1 hour on the phone. He refused to escalate the situation to the district manager or provide me with his information. Then the Super NES was released. I have a very bad experience, also at the same store, where they were telling people that they didn't have it at the store yet selling it to their friends and random people that were coming in.

There is no way I'll believe that they are unable to track and confirm whether or not a download code has been redeemed or acknowledge that I re-purchased the same game on a different platform within the same hour. Obviously they can track redemptions because if you try and redeem a code a 2nd time it won't work again. This is total fraud. About a month and a half ago I bought my son a pre owned PS4 and extra controller. When purchasing I paid for the extra year warranty on both (29.99 on system, 10.99 for a controller and I thought it was 2 years at time of purchase but receipt says 1). Anyway I bought this for my son who plays solo all the time so I never used the second controller.
Today we sat down to play 2 player MLB and the teams just kept scrolling. It was the left stick on the pre owned controller. I bring it back and tell him, and he says, "Well I'll switch it out for you but normally we don't do that past 30 days." I said, "I hope you do, I have a 2 year warranty" to which he replied, "No you only have a system warranty." After 2 minutes of whether I had it, he sees it on the receipt after all (6 foot long receipt with 2 items on it). After switching it out he asks, "Do you want the warranty on this one?" I said, "Doesn't the warranty still apply on the original?" He said, "No. Once I turn in the controller it voids it." "So you mean by me buying a broken controller and not bringing the busted thing back in 30 days you, on day 31, immediately are not responsible for selling broken garbage?" He said, "Yeah basically."
Moral: NEVER EVER buy pre owned from Gamestop. I thought these things were sent to corporate somewhere and refurbed, but they literally just wipe em off and stick it in a bag and put it on the shelf. That broken controller you sold them for $10 is sitting broken on the shelf next day for some idiot to buy for $50. He took it over and plugged it in, played around with it and then took other customers, while I waited. Then the phone rang and he engaged in a conversation, while I waited. He told me he couldn't find the serial number on the 3DS, asked me to wait and then did a trade in with other customers, checked out other customers, while I waited...

She said she couldn't pull number so she couldn't pull my order and give my code! They could charge me though! What a rip off! I'll never use them again! I ordered an iPhone 6s Plus from Gamestop. It was described as being a "Premium Refurbished" item. The item I received was in poor condition. The lens on the back camera was completely shattered with most of the glass missing. There were significant tool marks around the entire case at the end of the glass. Corners of the phone were all scuffed (but be realistic - this is one thing that might be expected of a refurbished unit). A premium refurbished unit should not have a broken camera and should not have lots of significant tool marks on the case around the glass.
I returned the item for a replacement. After not getting any acknowledgement from Gamestop for over a week, I sent them an email which they sent a robo-email response, but no other response. After another four days, I called them. They told me that the replacement phone had been shipped earlier in the day and that I should have gotten an email already (No, I had not, and still have not gotten an email). Checking the UPS tracking number that they gave me over the phone, I checked UPS and found that the shipping request had just been created (to be fair, I could not determine the time it was created), but the phone had not yet been provided to UPS.
I believe that Gamestop would still not have sent the replacement phone had I not called. It just seems like they put the shipping request in to UPS while I was on the phone talking to them (they had me on hold for about ten minutes). To summarize my view, the originally provided product was not as described, the replacement was slow, and I feel they were dishonest in dealing with me. I plan to send the replacement phone back for this poor treatment. On a good note, the customer service representatives that I spoke to were courteous (even if I feel they weren't above board).

I ordered a refurbished Xbox ONE bundle (with 2 refurbed controllers and 2 used games) before Christmas for my family. Love the machine, however one of the 2 games that I got with it, I discovered in January when I finally went to play it, will not load to the machine. I emailed Gamestop through their online contact. Then, the controllers started acting up (moving on their own). So I emailed them again, referencing the original inquiry as well. A few weeks later, I finally got an email from them asking for more information. It is now almost April and I have not gotten a response from them to resolve (or not) my problems! And we have barely played the thing since January because of the controller issues. I have never had a problem in-store, but I will never buy online from them again after this experience.

Anyhow, I'm following the tracking number provided by Gamestop which says I should have everything by Monday. So I'm annoyed, but whatever... I just want the Switch.
I come home early from work to catch my delivery in time so nothing happens to it, and just a book from Zelda is on my doorstep. I check my email, I now have a new email with a new tracking number from Gamestop saying that my Nintendo Switch is above to ship now!!! Wait what? Next day shipping? It's been nearly an entire week and still HASN'T SHIPPED YET.
I call this number. I found Dedicated Customer Care: (877) 676-GAME... I call them looking for a refund only on the shipping that I was lied to about. They come back and say they can offer me a gift card! Lol AYYYY... Like I haven't already spent enough money with you!? Just give me what I am owed and be done with it!!! I could have skipped all of this garbage time spent, and ordered the bundle I WANTED off some other internet source. I will never give Gamestop my business again. They messed up my Nintendo Switch pre-order badly. None of my friends who ordered from Best Buy, Amazon, or Walmart had any of these problems. I accidentally put the wrong shipping address for my Nintendo Switch pre-order. I called to correct it about 2 weeks before release day and upgrade my shipping. Gamestop said no problem, they can change the shipping address and happily took my $15 to upgrade to release day shipping.
However, when I got an email confirmation that my item was about to ship on March 2nd, it still had the old shipping address. I spent a total of 3 hours talking to customer service representatives that day. The first one said I had to make the change with UPS. I talked to a UPS representative who said it would not be possible to do that without a $100 charge. The second representative told me the item would have to be delivered to the incorrect address, recalled, and then sent to the correct address. Ok, fine I thought. I was willing to wait a few extra days. Another downside was that I would not get a refund on my expedited shipping until I actually received the item.
Still, I was willing to wait. I have kept track of the item on UPS over the last few days and it just arrived back to Gamestop today. I was now expecting to get an email confirmation for the item to ship to the correct address. Instead, I got one that said I would soon be refunded. So I, again, spent an hour on the phone with customer service. I am now told that I will have the item by the end of the week.
However, at this point I have no faith in customer service. Either GameStop's computer systems are terrible and don't correctly update customer information, or GameStop doesn't have capable customer service representatives. Either way, I ordered the Switch for 3/3 and will receive it 3/10 at the earliest. Or the week of 3/12. This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever had. And, I have had to go out of my way to even get something as simple as a shipping refund on a order they messed up. Other companies go out of their way to offer gift cards when things like this happen. GameStop definitely will not have my business in the future.

They basically refused to address the question as to why it was canceled or if they were even willing to remedy the problem. I know they canceled the order due to stock problems and I would have been fine not being able to make the order at all. Instead I was allowed to make the order and assumed for the next month and half that I was going to be receiving a Switch on day 1. When I called them, the employee I spoke to kept saying "yeah" as I explained who I was and why I was calling. When I finished explaining, he said "yeah" again. I waited several seconds for him to tell me whether or not they were holding one before I had to ask "So, did you find one or not?" I placed an order online with Gamestop after going to multiple physical locations. My order was placed on a Wednesday - Jan 11th. I chose the value shipping for $6 because it said 4-7 days which was fine with me. If I had seen a time frame longer than that I would of paid for upgraded shipping. Today is the 17 and I've spent an hour trying to track down any hint of my order. I couldn't even find a Game Stop phone number to reach customer service. Gamestop.com account says nothing and can't even find my order. Finally figured out that it has not been shipped or processed. With one day remaining in the 4-7 day promised window. I finally call and get through to someone who says I chose the wrong shipping (first off who is he to tell me which shipping is wrong or right?). He said I chose the 10 day shipping. I said no - I'm staring at something that says 4-7 days. He ignored that and said they have until next week to get it to me.
I said, "What makes you think (operator ID# **) Game Stop has 14 days to ship a small item to me when I PAID FOR 4-7 DAY SHIPPING??" He kept talking over me and changing the explanation. Totally frustrated. If this order doesn't show up in the next few days I'm filing a fraudulent charge with my bank and never ordering from Gamestop again. I don't care if they are the only place on the planet to get game stuff - more and more their in store staff is ignorant, rude and confusing.
In this day and age - it doesn't take a whole lot to give a customer access to tracking, shipping and order look up stuff for online purchases and Gamestop is in the dark ages with this. I think they pulled a bait and switch with shipping for my order. If "value" meant waiting for two weeks for an order to be either processed or shipped - that should of been stated. Instead in their language that was stated during my transaction it said value shipping was 4-7 days and I should get an email confirmation of order processing 3 days after placement - which I never got. Gamestop you have some shady business practices and you just lost a customer and I know you don't give one care.

The first thing is they charged me ~10$ to deliver, it's my first time ordering online from them so that seems fine, but it shouldn't be this way since I paid over $200 for these products and they can't offer me a free shipping? I later ordered a refurbish New 3DS XL that comes with a charger and an 8GB SD card from eBay for the same price they offer for the 3DS without SD card and a separate charger (New 3DS XL is better than the 3DS XL) and also a copy of Pokemon Moon from Best Buy without getting charged any shipping fee. Then I went ahead and tried to cancel my order from them. Surprisingly they don't have a cancel function for guest order on their website. So I went and do some research to find out that you have to email or call them to cancel your guest order.
I emailed them 3 times before I got an email back asking for more information which they already have, and no reply after I gave them the information. Then I called them, the first call made me wait for an hour before I had to hang up because I had things to do, the second call made me wait about 50 minutes before cutting itself off, and my third call made me wait an hour and 15 minutes before I got someone on the line to help me. The woman on the line was nice but speak really bad English for an American-based company which made it hard to work with, but overall after 3 hours in total waiting on the phone, and 2 days of figuring out how to cancel an order, I finally canceled my order. This makes me don't want to order anything from them ever again and maybe you should too.
