I ordered online 2 games on the 29th of November and still as of the 13th of December have not received them or even know where this order is. I have been online for 45 minutes and no one from Gamestop has picked up. Will no longer do business with what an inept, unprofessional, shoddy business. No customer care for their customers. When they finally came answered the phone almost an hour later no apologies for the long wait instead got an attitude like I should feel privileged that they picked up my phone call and no that person just put me on hold again. Disgusting way to do business!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone know who the C.E.O. as I would like to talk to him personally? Disgusted status:-(

I called Gamestop twice today to inquire about the fact that you cannot choose to order a physical gift card on the Website even though they show that as an option. I waited 25 minutes the first time and had to get off to go to an appointment. I waited 35 minutes the second time only to be told that not only can I not order a gift card online but the customer service rep could not do if for me. If a company does not want to offer physical gift cards, they should not advertise that they have them on their website.
After waiting almost an hour in total to talk to someone, the least they could have done was place the gift card order for me. As far as I am concerned, anyone who deals with Gamestop given their absolutely horrendous customer service should have their head examined. The only thing that makes me sad about this is that my nephew really wanted a "gift card" not a digital card from Gamestop for Christmas. He will not be getting that because Gamestop refused to provide one. Instead, he will be getting a gift card from another company. I for one will never buy from Gamestop again.

I purchased the Black Friday Edition of the PS3. I brought it home and it did not work. The PS3 would continually freeze and shut itself off. It was so bad that it would even freeze in the PS3 safe mode. I called the store on Thursday, December 5, 2013 to tell them about my issue. The woman on the phone told me that they didn't have any more Black Friday PS3s in stock, but she would check the stock in the other stores in town. I was looking online and I had only seen stock in stores about 70-80 miles away. I was told that they didn't have any in town, but that she would call another store to have one shipped into the store for the exchange. I was willing to drive to the closest store, but I felt assured that it wouldn't take too long for the PS3 to get to the store.
I waited on hold for approximately 15 minutes before another associate picked up the phone and realized that I wasn't the person who he was talking to. Approximately 2 minutes after that, the phone hung up. I called the store back and got back on the phone with the original associate I was talking to. She told me that she was having it shipped in, took down my name and phone number and told me that someone would call me when the PS3 was in.
I then called on Friday, December 6, because I forgot to ask how long it would take. I was told by a male associate that it could take up to or more than a week, but they'd call me when it came in. So then I called on Saturday, December 7 to find out when shipments came in. When I gave my name and the problem, the male associate recognized it and knew that they were waiting on the PS3 for me. He then told me that they hadn't gotten anything in yet, but to check back on Monday or Tuesday.
I called on Monday, December 9 around 1:30 pm to find out if it had come in yet. The male associate told me that they hadn't gone through everything yet, but they'd call me if it was in. I then called at 4:30 pm to inquire and was told that they still hadn't gone through it and they'd call me if it was in. I then called today, Tuesday, December 10 at around 7:00 pm to find out if the PS3 had come in yet. I was told by the male associate that there was no record that there was a PS3 coming in for me and that I should just call Sony because there was only one Black Friday PS3 located in Westlake, which is very far away from here. I was quite upset because I felt like I was being led on all week long and that everything had told me that they would call me. But now that there wasn't a single Black Friday PS3 available anywhere nearby, that nothing was being reserved for me.
I am incredibly upset, frustrated and angry at this whole situation. I don't know if the PS3 had ever been ordered shipped in from the other store or if it came in and was accidentally sold after it was inventoried. I have not been able to get any sort of straight answer. I purchased the bundle from Gamestop because I've been a customer for years and felt that purchasing from a storefront like Gamestop would be better than purchasing the same bundle that was available on both Amazon and Best Buy from an online retailer or a big box store because I had a belief that a specialty store like Gamestop would be more understanding and have better customer service from their associates. I feel that I'm completely mistaken now because of this whole situation. I have never had any issue like this from Best Buy or Amazon.
Now I feel completely cheated. I can't believe I purchased a brand new console system and strung along for a week to just be told, well go to the manufacturer, even though we have this 30 day store policy that we won't honor for you because someone messed up somewhere. But I'm not going to take responsibility for anything. I have previously worked in customer service as a hotel clerk for Marriott, and I normally don't complain about receiving poor customer service.
I understand that dealing with customers every day can get wearing and sometimes frustrations make seep out from a normally wonderful associate. But this is something that I think goes well beyond poor customer service. I feel like I've been fooled with and that I am just another number to your stores rather than a valued customer. I feel like my concerns don't matter to the associate as long as the blame can be passed onto someone else. I feel completely and utterly disappointed in Gamestop right now.
The sad part for me is that I went into that same Gamestop store on Sunday to purchase Lego Pirates of the Caribbean for Xbox 360 for my wife. I felt safe doing that because I thought I was being taken care of by the store and its associates. Now I am completely sorry that I even spent that little amount of money at Gamestop. I don't want to ever spend another dollar at a place takes my money for a product that doesn't work and then treats me like it's my problem that I need to deal with and who cares if what I paid for was a working system. It makes me feel like crap and I'm done with Gamestop.

This is the second time that I signed up for Gamestop's paid membership. The first time I tried for 6 months to get it resolved, and here I am two years later with the same problem. They are supposed to 'mail', 'email' , 'send' you a buy 2 get 1 free coupon, but every time I try to get it, I am either misinformed, or I can access my account. I have tried to contact them through email, customer service, and even went to their store and tried to get their staff to help (This is what resolved the issue the last time after about an hour of arguing with them). I am currently on hold (have been for 1 hour and 1 minute) :( All I want is my coupon!!! By the time I can get into my account then the email is gone, or expired. I am not sure why they even offer these coupons if they are going to make them so difficult to get to; however they insist on sending me emails EVERYDAY about stuff I don't care about. I will not do business with them again after this. LESSON LEARNED!

Pre-ordered the PS4 in June. One week before the shipment, Gamestop emailed me to update my credit card info. I did, and then I charged something to make sure that it worked. Then came an email Sunday of the weekend that the pre-orders shipped, telling me that the order was cancelled for some processing reason. Tried calling but was on hold for 32 minutes before I had to hang up. Then I emailed them and after two days I got a response telling me that the bank had refused the charge. I contacted my bank and they had no record of an attempt to charge anything.
It seems to me that somebody wanted a system, so they cancelled mine and took it. I waited five months for nothing. I also found out that once you create an account on the Gamestop web site, you can never delete it. NEVER. Seems irresponsible to me. I will never shop at the store again, in person or on-line. How hard would it be to give you a chance to fix the problem? That is just common courtesy, something Gamestop does not have. One big rip off company. I can see why they are in danger of going out of business.

Pre-ordered a PS4 "Epic Bundle" for over $1000. Was told it would ship on 11/15/13. On 11/18, I get an email from them saying my order has been cancelled. No reason given. Called customer service. Waited on hold over 20 minutes. Was told, "No problem, go to the store where you placed the order and they will fix it." I go to the GameStop on Shugart Road in Dalton, GA. Sales guy calls customer service and I wait for 30 minutes. Was told it was taken care of. Hour later store calls me back and tells me I will have to go thru customer service again.
I go back to store, they call CS. On hold 30 more minutes. They scan my old receipt, tell me they are re-placing the order again and they guarantee me this will work. I get a new receipt. 1st receipt says "Epic Bundle" and lists contents as PS4, PS PLUS 1-year membership, $20 network card, Killzone, wireless controller, Knack, Assassin's Creed, PS camera, Need For Speed, Battlefield 4, Dualshock charging station, Earforce headset, Angry Birds:Star Wars. 2nd receipt just says "Epic Bundle" with no detail.
Today, I get email that my Epic Bundle has shipped but now the contents is listed, for the first time, as PS4 system only, and 8 games. No camera, no dual shock controller, no DS charger, and no headset! Spent another hour tonight on hold. Told customer service of my hassle, and they first told me I could only return the items when I got them and get a gift card for over $1000. After many choice words and informing them that I was an attorney, and threatening to be on the evening news tomorrow, they promised to email me a return label, allow me to send the "wrong items" back, and that they will send me the items I was supposed to get in the first place. I'll believe it when I see it.

Well I pre-ordered the PS4 in August. I never thought twice to keep all of my receipts as I always kept the last one which stated how much I had deposited on my account. A few weeks ago my girlfriend went in to make a deposit on her and my PS4. When she asked the salesperson to print up the two receipts for some strange reason they couldn't find mine. Now my PS4 receipt states that I had 310 dollars and my gf's said hers had 360. I contacted Gamestop corporate, which did absolutely nothing. She called the local Gamestop and they verified that both PS4 systems were reserved and that they both had about an equal amount on them. Cool so I call them immediately back and they tell me no, that was not the case (while the salesperson thought he was out of range of the phone I could hear him snicker and laugh on the other side)... Wow in the matter of seconds your answer changed, seriously?
So I went up to the Gamestop, where the manager to my face tells me that he doesn't believe me (because of 180 dollar jump on one system and the lack of all the other receipts). So instead of losing my temper and spending several days in jail I decide to call corporate yet again from the store. While on the phone with corporate he kept giving her wrong phone numbers as they searched for the recording to my last call to them where they said that both systems had about 360 dollars on them. Suspicious, I think so. She informs the manager of said Gamestop to call his district manager. When he gets on the line to speak to the district manager, he goes to the back room so as to not be overheard. Several times I pointed at the receipt and several times he told me that he didn't believe me.
I have dealt with him in the past. One time he tried to sucker me by saying that I couldn't get a full trade in value for my system because it was making noises. Mind you I had just tested it at home and it was barely if ever used, so I went around to the little screen where they test the systems and pulled it out and turned it off, noise continued, but the system was off. The shock on his face as he asked me why I would turn it off, said enough and should have taught me a lesson. Anyway several days later a district manager contacted me and said that he was investigating the problem. It is now 3 weeks later, and still nothing.

I bought a brand new PS3 from them and returned it 8 days later. They said because nothing was malfunctioning on it, they wouldn't give me a refund but instead gave me store credit. So I took the store credit and got an Xbox360, a hard drive for it and three months of Xbox Live and Black Ops 2. Well, I got it home and was ready to play my new games and found out the hard drive was broken and the Xbox, no matter what game I put in the system, the Xbox would say unreadable disc.
So I took it back to Gamestop and they said they couldn't return it. I said a select few words to the manager and they said I had to go get a prepaid debit card and the money would go back on there. So I went and bought one and it took 15 days to get my money back. Also, the Gamestop where I live, it's in KY. I know that the manager traded alcohol to minors for marijuana. Disgraceful bunch of pigs. I will never go back to that store and I hope it goes out of business!

I bought 2 Xbox 360s from GameStop for $303, including shipping, but they came without hard drive disks so I called them and asked why. They answered me that that is the way they sell those items. I confronted the Customer Service lady why they didn't advertise that they were selling those systems without hard drive disks. She said, "I am sorry," and ended the phone call. So anyone who is buying from these people should be aware of what they are selling and ask before paying.

I purchased a Nexus 7 tablet from GameStop, located in Wilkes-Barre Township Commons, PA on November 7, 2012. The cashier offered to sell me a product replacement plan that according to her would cover the tablet, that if it breaks or malfunctions, they would replace it. I purchased the insurance for $29.99. On January 15, the screen accidentally broke so I took it to GameStop to get a new one which was supposed to be covered by the insurance I purchased. They refused to replace it and after numerous calls to GameStop Customer Service, I managed to talk with Steven **, the district manager for this store. He also refused to replace it. He stated that their product replacement plan only covers manufacturer defects.
I asked him why would anyone buy your replacement plan if it only covers manufacturer defects considering the product already comes with a 1-year manufacturer defect warranty for free? He told me that if people are stupid enough to buy it without reviewing the terms of the replacement plan, that it’s not his problem. The store does not give you any information on the plan when you buy the insurance so we are to trust the cashier's information only. I did obtain a copy of the replacement plan policy after asking for it numerous times when I tried to get my replacement tablet and nowhere in it does it state it does not cover a cracked screen. Steven said he would refund my payment for their warranty but not replace the tablet.
I told him that if I weren't given the false information on the replacement plan, I could have gone to numerous other stores, including Staples and Walmart, that are located in the same area as GameStop. Both stores offer a replacement plan for near the same price that cover a broken screen. This store is selling fraudulent replacement plans and I doubt I am the first or last person that this will happen to if something is not done. Nobody, including the district manager, would provide me with any information to contact anyone else in the company to file a complaint. This store is scamming customers and needs to be stopped.

On November 9, 2012, I asked Henry at Gamestop Santa Monica if the Nintendo 3DS Super Mario Bros 2 would work in Australia. He didn't know and then asked the store manager, a pink-haired female, and she didn't know either. She made a telephone call to someone who told her it would work, which she relayed to me. So based on this information, I purchased the product for $43.69. On returning to Australia, my disappointed nephew finds that it doesn't work and we discovered then that it was region-restricted. I called EB Games, which is the Australian subsidiary and they couldn't care less. I emailed Gamestop 4 times and they keep fobbing me off for over one week now. Now they don't even respond at all. They ripped me off, they took my money and now refuse to give it back when they lied to me all along. I guess they figure that they wouldn't see me again, being a tourist, so sell her anything anyway to meet their targets/commission.

I have a 4 minute of video waiting on Gamestop response. Okay, so I went into a Gamestop on Arden Way in Sacramento, next door to Once Upon a Child. I was there for an hour with my 2-year old, who was past her nap time anyway. I put games on the counter and waited in line while he (store employee) was serving the customers ahead of us. Unfortunately, he was so distracted by the girl in the store who was just hanging at the counter that he didn't pay attention to his customers. The store video shows the whole incident. He was so enthralled with the young woman that he was talking to her during each customer he served. I was in line while he served the 3 customers. I walked away to look at another game, came back when he was done and let another customer go ahead of me.
I came back again. He put all my games up and still talking to this young woman he said is a customer. She never had a bag and seems to have no care about the customers who come up to the counter. Customers shouldn't have to deal with that kind of treatment and loud talking and yelling from a friend of an employee. Once he put my games back, I was pissed enough to say, "Hey man, you're too distracted by this young woman to pay attention." I hope that one of his district managers looks up the video for November 16th and can see his poor performance in the store. I just put this first part up to show the lady's face. Well it gets better. He lied when I asked for his name and store number, then he said he had no name. All Americans have a name and the young lady was yelling at me when I asked what is she doing here.
What's the store number and who is his boss? Horrible I tell you. He threatened to call the police on me for yelling back at his girlfriend and saying **, that she can't talk like that in front of my daughter. If I had her mom or any white people at all have been in there, the whole event would have been way different. On the phone I told my brother this dude is tripping **. ** told me he heard me say ** on the phone like that was the worst of all that happened. I'm black. I can say **. He can't!
I had to call another Gamestop and ask for the information for the store I had this problem with because the store employee I encountered was horrifically rude and disrespectful. My daughter is apologizing to me like this was her fault. She was stressing, getting upset and crying because of your employee's behavior. I am extremely upset about that, not to mention all of the time we wasted in the store to buy games she and I had spent time looking for, which this employee put back and then said he didn't remember where he put them, so I was also unable to purchase my games which were the reason for our visit to the store in the first place. Store #2356, his name is **.

They have the worst people skills and customer service of anyone I've ever seen. They have done everything from try to sell me a used game when I purchased it new and they always low ball on trade ins. They have also sold me multiple used games that play crappy because of extensive cleaning. Most, not all, of their employees are extremely unprofessional and lacking knowledge. They seem like young kids that just thought it will be cool to work at a game shop, not people who take their job seriously.
BestBuy is turning into a pretty good gaming exchange community and has a broader range of accessories. I am considering taking the thousands that I spent on games, consoles, and accessories.

I am a long term customer with 2 teenage sons who own every gaming system in existence (all purchased from Game Stop). I have been the first to pre-order games and I have spent thousands of dollars at Game Stop.
I purchased Star Wars the Force, Unleashed for the PS3 ($29.99) on Tuesday with Overnight Shipping, UPS erroneously marked it as delivered on Thursday. I called Friday to report and seek a replacement (as it was a gift for my son). I was advised that a replacement could not be shipped until Game Stop completed its "investigation." This process of "tracing" the package would take 10 business days.
When asked that I speak with a supervisor and gently reminded them of my long term purchase history, I was placed on hold 3 times (for 3 minutes or more) and was told that the representative had spoken to the supervisor and the policy stands.
When asked additional times for me to speak with supervisor, I was finally transferred to Jamie at extension 7632. He proceeded to tell me that the policy was to protect Game Stop from customers who would abuse them. I reminded him to view my account, 16 purchases in the past 3 months alone and he said it did not matter, they must be protected.
I directly asked him to explain to me why Game Stop would be willing to lose a long term customer who has spent thousands and just this year alone, over $29.99. He said, "Well ma'am that is certainly your choice."
The final resolution was that I wait 10 business days for UPS investigation. Upon it going in my favor, I could receive a refund in 5-7 business days if their claims representative approves it. If UPS erroneously finds that it was delivered in hand, I have no recourse. If the claims representative does not approve the refund, I have no recourse.
My final resolution is to never, ever spend another dollar of my hard earned money at Game Stop and to find alternatives. I would rather spend more money to avoid the drama (total customer service call time 2 hours) of dealing with a business that sees the value of my business as worthless than $29.99.

The only thing that arrived in the mail was the game itself. I called the help line and they conveniently didn't have anymore in stock. The guy I talked to (Adam) put me on hold to see what he could do for me. When he came back on the line, he told me that the accessories didn't come with used games. I know that most used games on Gamestop.com state on the product description that it only includes the game and nothing else. This however did not say that. So, the only thing that he could do for me was return the game and that I would have to eat the shipping. I just received an e-mail that the order was canceled. I thought it may have been a server error so I tried to re-order it from the website, but the coupon code was no longer valid. I called Customer Service and they said it was a mistake to allow the coupon code to work and that they would not honor their own code. This falls under that a common type of fraud known as false advertising. I asked to speak to the supervisor and he was no more help than a guy selling sand in a desert.
I just finished submitting a complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in hopes of some form of resolution (honoring their code would be nice). If not, I will make it my mission to twitter/facebook/myspace this event to everyone I know about how GameStop does business (shady like).
This is the first time that I have ever had a problem like this. I would bet that Amazon or Buy would be the first to apologize, take the hit by honoring it, and move on with life, making me (the customer) happy and continuing to order from both of them, and recommending them to friends & family.
This is the last time I will ever deal with Gamestop at all (online or in stores). The fact that you can always get it cheaper online and you don't have to pay tax makes it superior. That and as you can see, Amazon doesn't honor their own codes! I did not get the product at the promised price at the end of the sale..

This is getting old and my son has not been able to use the item. I have the return label to GameStop but they will not let me return it. It shows my name and address and amount paid. This is not acceptable to Activision. Please help. I am really losing my patience with this whole thing!

I had pre-ordered an Xbox 360 game (Resident Evil five) at my local GameStop. I paid for the video game upfront, a total of $64.04. The day the game came out, I went to pick up the video game and they told me that something was wrong with the system and that it got canceled by mistake by someone at the store and that they couldn't give me the video game unless I paid for it again even though I never got a refund for this so cancellation and no managers could be found at the time. To date, I go to the store everyday to find this manager who can help me but I always just missed him.

On 6/20/08 at 5:53pm I purchased a video game, Rock Band Special Edition for $109.99 for my son's graduation gift. He got it home unpacked everything, only to find the actual game software was not in the sealed box. I immediatley called the store was told by Cesar, who helped with the purchase, to bring it all back and he will give us the game for it. I drove back to the store, and was told by Dushawn, that is against the agreement the store has with the manufacturer not replace or return anything on this product. I was instructed to contact the manfg. by email.

I was trying to get an exchange out the Rock Band bundle kit because two of the peripherals are defective. These two peripherals are the guitar and the drum pad. The guitar's strum bar does not properly register strums during game play. As for the drum pad certain pads, sometimes the green, yellow, and blue drum pads do not register during game play. I called up GameStop to ask if I can exchange out the bundle. At first the women who helped me out said that I can, however her manager took the phone from her and said I couldn't. The manager said that I couldn't because according to Activision and their store policy that they cannot accept defective returns on gaming peripherals.
I made it clear that I wanted an exchange at first because multiple peripherals for the game are not functioning properly. I also inquired about a return. I stated that I bought the product on November 20, 2007 and I would like to return the whole bundle. At the time I asked for to make the return was December 12, 2007. I'm still within 30 days for a defective return, however I was told that it is store policy that they cannot accept a defective return on peripherals for this certain game's bundle. I asked why only for this game's peripherals and he just replied back that it is store policy that they cannot accept the return. He later than gave me the district managers phone number, but I'm am still waiting to receive a callback after leaving a measage.
This event happened today around 12:30 PM on December 12, 2007. I called the district manager around 1:00 PM and I haven't received a callback and it's been about an hour since I left a message.
