I got a $50 Gamestop gift card for Christmas. I went online to redeem it for some games (because they are on sale before and after Christmas). After multiple hours of searching I found games I wanted, and proceeded to checkout. Everything was going well until I got to where I would enter my gift card’s information, and it said there was no balance on the gift card, which I had gotten that day, completely packaged, pin NOT scratched off (I re-entered the gift card info multiple times). I still haven't heard back from customer service, and I am fairly certain they won't help me anyway. I am VERY dissatisfied with my experience, and like others have said, I would rate zero if I could.

Purchased a Apple Watch from the online store. Order the wrong Watch, so I return it to the store, they refunded me and ship it back while ordering me the right one. Here I am a month and half later with no Watch and $253.00 dollars out of my account. I have return to the store asking for help and they say they can't do nothing for me. I have called and called and can't get through to no one. I've emailed them with my problem and they give me no solid answer. I feel like I have been robbed and have no idea what to do, as of now I'm out $253 dollars. I recommend nobody shop at GameStop period.

It's been well over a month since I placed an online order for a game through Gamestop's website. I've sent three emails and have never received a response for any. I called and was on hold for over 2 hours before finally speaking with someone. They said they would send another copy and I would get a confirmation email stating this. This was one week ago and still no updates. I'm calling again and am currently on hold (been one hour so far) and will try to get a refund but I am fearing that they will never return my money.

If I could give zero stars, I would! First, let me say that I understand the NES classic is NEW and popular right now! I went to the Four Seasons Mall location here in Greensboro on black Friday, of course they were out of the NES controllers. So I put $5 down and preordered one. I ask the cashier what the expected date would be and I was told the first part of December. It is now December 20th and I do not have a controller.

Every time that I call, I get a different response and attitude from employees. I called again today and asked nicely if they had any controllers, was told 'no'. I asked how long since I had preordered in November and was told "Ugh, I don't know. We are no longer ordering them. They'll come in when they get here and we will call you". I'm sorry, but if I preorder an item and told it'd be here by a certain date, I want my damn item!! Thank goodness the NES Classic comes with one controller so that my kids can play it on Christmas day. I will NEVER buy anything from GameStop again!!

I placed an order on Dec. 9th. By Dec. 12th it was still not processed. I called and was on hold for 1 hr. 20 minutes before I got to speak with a foreign person. They stated it would be processed and sent for shipping the next day. Of course that didn't happen. They could not cancel the order even though it had never been shipped. It showed it was shipped online with a tracking number, but the item had never been brought to the Post office for shipping. Called back Dec. 16th, it had still not been sent to shipping so the foreign customer service person that I waited 1 hr. 45 minutes to speak with said she would have it replaced and expedited shipped. This did not happen either. Today is Dec. 20th and the item has still not been brought to the Post Office for shipping. TERRIBLE customer service who cannot help and no online options. I will NEVER buy anything from Gamestop again. Ever.

I call every day, their customer service # 2 hours + on the phone with no response until I got tired and try again the next day. I call the number on my bank statement no response. I don't think there is anyone alive over there in Texas. Maybe I should drive up to Texas see if someone is there, maybe I'll get a faster response. Never again will I shop at Gamestop. Horrible shopping experience ever. They were quick to withdraw my money but took no time to answer my emails or calls. My nephew will have no gift to open on the 25th.

I am writing this review because I have been waiting for almost a month now for a replacement game that was lost in shipping. Gamestop told me on phone three times now on three different occasions that took an hour to get someone on phone each time as their reps work from their living room in another country and don't care that my game would definitely be on the way and a month later still nothing. Won't give me a tracking number or confirmation number. Just keeps assuring me it's on way. Please don't order from Gamestop. There are several great companies out there that sell new and used games. Bestbuy.com, gamefly.com, bullmoose.com. Please don't use Gamestop.com as you will have trouble I'm sure.

Called 3 times, total of 6 hrs 22 minutes on the phone. All 3 calls someone answered the phone that barely spoke English. I ordered a Playstation 4 VR kit which was the last remaining kit in the entire USA. In short, thanks to their poor service, they cancelled my order without my asking them to, and now my kids can't get this for X-mas because they are out of stock everywhere in the USA. That's the short story of the issue. Read further for all of the details and the horrors these people put me and every other person through. They need to be out of business.

I chose PayPal billing to use my account and the site switched it twice back to PayPal credit. TWICE! After finally purchasing, it still went through as PayPal credit even though my preferred method of payment clearly said PayPal - Checking. I called 3 times to change the billing option. The online page would not give me an option to change billing regardless of what support said. The first call the person refused to listen to me and said he would just retry the purchase. I said "no, I need to change it, that's why I called." He literally ignored me and said, "I went ahead and resubmitted your order for processing, you can call back again during regular business hours if it fails again". I said "it will fail, why I'm calling." He said, "call back tomorrow then after it fails and someone can assist you." Really? Waited 2 hr 7 minutes for that.

Sure enough, 5 more emails from PayPal claiming fraud. I called them to please allow the purchase and I would just open a Credit Card with them. Got that done. Called back again to Gamestop, 2 hrs!!! Pathetic! Got some lady that I couldn't understand. She said the order was processed successfully and I should receive a notification. I told her it didn't because I got the failed to process and I just wanted to change and pay with my bank credit card at this point as I have to get this since it is the last one in the country. She said, “I will resubmit to process.” I SAID, “NO! DO NOT REPROCESS WITH THE SAME PAYMENT!” She ignored me and did it anyways! I emailed support several times, no response at all!!! That's ridiculous.

I went to a store. They said, “Sorry about your luck,” and they are surprised they are still in business because they suck and people come in all the time for help because gamestop.com is screws them over. That's Gamestop's own store recommending to never use their online GameStop.com site. Sure enough, wasn't processed.

Called a 3rd time. Got again some Indian person that barely spoke English, didn't care that I had issues, just asked what I wanted to do. I said, "I HAVE TO HAVE THIS. THERE ARE NO MORE IN STOCK ANYWHERE and this is the last one that is in stock because it's sitting waiting to ship to me" She said, "I will cancel your order." WTF?!!?! Are you serious? Why would I do that if the one I have reserved for purchase is the last one I can order? That means there are no more so I get this one or I'm out. She said, "You can order again online after I cancel." No I can't. It won't let me because they show out of stock! She said, "I will reprocess your order." NO! Seriously??! I said it won't go through. I don't know why I just need to change payment so I can have this for Christmas. She said, "I reprocessed the order and you should receive a tracking number shortly."

Woke up today... "YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELLED" I CAN'T GET THIS NOW AND HAVE IT BY CHRISTMAS! They are out of stock and the one I had purchased and reserved is who knows where now but thanks to GameStop, we have 10 VR games, a new PS4, VR accessories and NO Playstation 4 VR headset. I called and again, took 1 hr 21 minutes, yet again, and the person said, "Your order was cancelled due to issue with payment." I said, "No. The issue was you. It always was you. I tried 3 times on the phone and 3 times via email to change payment. Instead you cancelled my order because someone there probably wanted to but it themselves since it was out of stock."

The person stated, "You can reorder it online and you will be fine." I said, "I can't, IT IS OUT OF STOCK! That was the last one!" Response, "Ohhh. That's too bad Sir. You can check back when they are available and try again then. Have a nice day." My response, "Go ** yourselves and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure NO ONE uses your company." No parents should go through all of this and have their kids let down because a business screwed them over and wasted days of time. So pissed off!

Where do I start? So I order a WII U online on 12/12/2016. I make a mistake in my email, so I try to contact them through the website. No phone number anywhere on the website. So I send them an email with my order information and ask them to correct the email address. No response and it has been five days. So on 12/14/2016, I look up the order information on their website. The status of the order is closed and there is a UPS tracking number. The status on UPS is the label is created but has not arrived at the UPS facility. So fast forward to 12/16/2016, I check the status of the tracking number on their site an UPS.COM.

Still in the same state printed, but not scanned. So I send them another email on the morning of 12/16/2016. Wait all day and go to a local GameStop store hoping they can help me. Unfortunately, they say there is nothing they can do (BTW: The local people were very friendly). Eventually they gave me an 800 number for corporate support. So on Saturday morning 12/17/2016, I call the 800 number. I was on hold for 1 hour and 30 minutes before a customer service rep (not sure you call this guy that) came on the line. First, I am cordial and tell him I want to know what is going on with my order. He then asks me for the order and the email address of the order. I am OK with that, but then he proceeds to confirm every piece of information from the phone number to the full billing address. I give him the information and he continues to ask for more information. I have to admit my patience was wearing pretty thin at this point and I kind of lost it.

In a very firm voice, I said, "You have more than enough information and all I want to know is did the order really shipped." He goes silent for like 20 or 30 seconds. Finally talks again and starts asking for more of my personal details. I totally lose it and say "Let me talk to a manager." He goes silent again and after 10 seconds hangs up on me. I wait 1 hour and 30 minutes for Game Stop to hang up on me. I just want to say I normally do not take the time to write negative reviews, but in this case I feel everyone needs to know how bad Game Stop's customer service really is. My recommendation is to NEVER do business with Game Stop and if you are reading this after the purchase, return the product. They do not belong in business.

So we placed an order for a used PS3 and new copy of Madden 16. When the order arrived the PS3 was filthy and the side was off and loose in the box, the game was a used Madden 16 case with a used copy of Madden 17. I called their "Customer Service" three separate times. First I was on hold for 45 mins without ever talking to anyone. Second was 1 hour 45 mins same result. Third I was on hold 2 hours and 30 mins and still no customer service. Days of trying and nothing but when I called a local store I was told "Nothing we can do" so I called the store I dealt with first and they offer me a replacement but it's used and I have to drive there. No offer to help make this right but they had 100 excuses for why this happened. Never again, Amazon from now on.

I am now going to call them and wait for 1-2 hours one more time to tell them if they have my package to send it, or I'm going to refund, I've never seen such business practice like this online. Online emails were barely any help and assumed that them telling me to wait and that the shipment is being shipped soon is something considered as a problem resolved. Very, VERY unprofessional company. Will be sticking to other online stores like Amazon or Walmart where I will have no problems ordering and getting shipping confirmation in just 1-2 business days. I ordered some of the Black Friday 2016 items that were for sale at GameStop and I selected to pay with my PayPal credit card. It is now 12/3/2016 and Gamestop has not picked up the order or confirmed the order. It is still showing as pending in Paypal. I called Paypal to see if there was a problem. There was no problem from their side. Gamestop is just not picking up these orders and processing them. Have been attempting to call Gamestop for 3 days and have held on the phone 2 hours per day in an attempt to talk to someone. There is never an answer. I emailed them and got a generic reply that I could go to my Gamestop account to check the status of my order.

This was a particularly stupid response as the order has never been picked up or processed; thus, there is no order to look at on my account. One can call a local store and sure they can sell it to you at a much higher price than the listed sale on Black Friday. No help there. I am so disappointed in this company and I can see by the other reviews that I am not alone. Too bad. If I could have given a zero for a satisfaction level, I would have. Unfortunately one star is the least I can select. I believe this was intentional on Gamestop's part. I don't think they ever intended to honor the Black Friday pricing.

I had a terrible online experience with Gamestop. I've never wrote an online review or complaint before, but since their "customer service" never got back to me, I have to voice my experience somewhere. I ordered an XBOX ONE online along with another game. Within minutes of placing the order, (8:30 am) I received an email showing the ship to address as my old address. I called to rectify this mistake and have the ship changed to my current address. I kept hearing "hold times longer than 30 minutes" and so I thought well, I'll just email them. I went back to the website, and it stated that my order was still open and that I was able to change the ship to info myself, but there was nowhere to change it! The website did not have that functionality. I tried calling and was on hold for over an hour and at the end of the day, 9:30 PM at this point, I got a message saying that my order had shipped to wrong address!

I woke up and STILL nobody had got back to me on my order. Later that night, I was able to track down my order only to find that they didn't even ship me the game I ordered, just the console. Of course when I called at 8 am this morning when they "opened", it said "wait times are longer than 30 minutes right now" and I just hung up after 30 minutes. I am done with this company. I am out 50 bucks but it's not worth fighting for it at this point. Maybe that's one way they make profits at this company. I hope this review is helpful and please be advised that you may run into similar issues with this company. BUYER BEWARE.

We waited an hour to talk to a rep, (did not speak good English), who told us she didn't know why it was canceled, so she took the order again, but said we couldn't have the game. We asked to speak to a supervisor, was told one call back. Didn't happen. Then we get an email that they shipped the 2 yr warranty plan, but no game system.

Called again today (11/28) waited over an hour (again). Finally spoke to someone who explained what was going on. GameStop sold to more people than they had systems. He didn't know if we would get a system by Christmas or not. But he couldn't explain why we were sent a 2 yr warranty plan for a non-existent system. He put me on hold so I could speak to a supervisor and the call was ended before I could speak with a supervisor. So I called back, waited another hour - asked immediately for a supervisor and the call was ended again without speaking to a supervisor. Three hours plus, three attempts to talk to supervision, and three failed attempts. My credit card company is suggesting fraud, and I am now inclined to believe them.

Advice, never pre-order anything from Gamestop, buy it direct from the manufacturer or supporting platform for the console or system you intend to use. Unless there's an exclusive, not worth the wasted time, and definitely not the inconvenience.

There's no link to cancel the order when I pull it up in my order history so from 7:10pm EST until about 8:20pm EST my battle is trying to get a live person to look into this order and assist with cancelling. Rep finally picks me up from the queue after near 40 mins, sounds very confused and uninformed then places me on an extended hold only to come back any say, "they don't have any codes". No codes, seriously. How crappy is the digital shopping arrangement when you can generate a unique code to sell so a customer can download software from a server?

So 3 hours and 20 mins later I have no product. If the response time was better I may have still spent money with the company but no, they take near half a regular work day to blow a $120 sale leaving no time for a would be customer to choose brick and mortar over webstore. As a kid, I enjoyed shopping at GameStop. So as an adult, I obviously take my children there. But I think I have hit my wit's end with this store. A couple years ago, around Christmas time, my oldest daughter wanted an Xbox 360 so I purchased one from the store nearest to us. We set it up only to find that it wouldn't turn on. I contacted Xbox support for them to tell me that the Xbox I bought was faulty. I refunded it some days later. At this point, this was my first real negative experience with this store.

Fast forward to September 2, 2016, my youngest was online and saw a very affordable deal for an Xbox 360 bundle so I purchased it and it shipped in a timely manner but when we got it and set it up, it too did not work. I contacted GameStop immediately, wanting a refund but the representative told me to contact Xbox support to be sure that it was broken so I did. After about an hour of going through things to see if the Xbox was working or not, the Xbox support representative told me that it was indeed faulty. I then called GameStop back to ask for a refund again and might I say, the lady I talked to was extremely rude and unsympathetic. My situation is still not solved. Moral of the story: Do not buy an older Xbox 360 (it did not say how old the Xbox was on their site) from GameStop. I'll even go as far as to say it makes no sense as to why they sell things that do not work.

Your "3RD party helpdesk in india", they were even less of a help and it sucks because being out of the state right now, the folks at the store were really helpful. Long short... I should have drove to Walmart or Best Buy and bought a copy instead. Sony told me it should have worked 9 hours ago, but try again in 4 hours. What is the point in preordering if you can get the game easier and quicker by not preordering? This company will never see another penny from me and I will make sure many people are warned via social media.

What a rip off. Within seconds my 16 yr old child asked her to give her the games back and she would refund the money because something did not sound right, and she called me and I also spoke to the manager who informed me even though it was less than a few moments ago, my child would have to buy back her games at 10.00 a piece. My career of over 30 years is in the Customer Care & Sales & Marketing Industries. I know what it takes to retain a customer, in particular a new customer like myself. Bottom line, I will never use GameStop for anything again, nor ever recommend them to anyone. I ordered a $20 Gift Card as a birthday present, paid in full for it immediately, and requested download/print instructions in the event the item did not reach me in time to present to the gift recipient. That took place five days ago, on Friday, and as of today, I still have nothing. No response, no download/print instructions, no gift card, nothing! I attempted to contact them at their customer service line and was informed that due to the high quantity of calls, I would have to wait for at least 15 minutes.

Thirty five minutes later, after having to listen to an endless tape of GameStop promotions and products without even a stop to tell me thank you for waiting, and your hold time is now... I disconnected the call. The birthday recipient of the gift card wound up with a birthday card and a copy of the GameStop paid in full receipt with a promise of "Sorry... soon"... Embarrassing to say the least! I guess they don't care about their customers as passionately as I do mine!

We asked a worker some questions and I was super surprised to find out he actually knew what he was talking about. We ended up talking to him for about maybe a half hour and I left the store feeling so happy someone knew about games and books as much as me. So to Ryan that works at the Block in Orange store, excellent work. You were really cool and I hope you get a promotion or something because you are perfect from any job you get. Several years ago I ordered several games to be accessed by the Gamestop application. The promise was that I would own these forever. Recently, I got a new computer. I loaded the application that is still available on their website and it did not work - the games did not show and it asked for a one-time password that did not generate to my mail. I called the support lines given and got India or somewhere. The first lady hung up on me without giving me any information or help. The second lady told me she escalated it - but I never heard from anyone. The third man decided to generate a non-existent password and tell me it would work in six hours. That never happened either. The fourth man was a little better as he at least told me the application is no longer supported. He also escalated it and again I heard nothing. At this point I did some research and called the Corporate Office in Texas.

After listening to the prompts I again got India - so I called back and punched a different option. The lady who answered talked to an escalation person who emailed me with special codes for two of my games on Steam - those worked yay - and for four of my games on Uplay those codes did not work - she sent me four new ones and they did not work either. I contacted Uplay support and they said nothing they could do to help me. The Gamestop person told me she would help me get a refund but when I emailed her again she did not respond back. So in the end I have lost three out of four Ubisoft games - one of which I repurchased on Steam for 25.00. NOW, I believe Gamestop is in breach of contract with hundreds of customers at this point and I believe they care less. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY PERIOD!!!

I am reviewing with regards to Gamestop's online customer service. It started in the store but moved to online when I contacted them. I started contacting the online customer service in early March and there is still no resolution or even anyone who seems to understand what the problem was in the first place. All of this started with Gamestop's Skylanders Day promotion. It is a really good deal. Buy one get one free deal and was very fun. On their flyer they put out they tell you to ask to join the Skylanders Adventure Club in the store. If you do, then you get a free Skylanders for every 6 you purchase. I went to 3 different Skylanders Days (December, January and March) and was not able to join the club.

At the March one I asked the guy at the store if I could join the club. (This was the same guy who had told me on the phone in January that the specific characters I asked about would be there on that Saturday and they were not. When I asked him about it he just said they didn't have those ones.) He went to the back to get a card and came out and said he did not have any but told me I could return to the store on Tuesday (he may have some then) and he would do a return and give me credit for the latest ones. The store is 25 miles from my house. Also, if he did a return on that day it would not reflect the sale price most likely and would have been a huge mess (been there done that elsewhere). I then asked him for the free poster that the flyer promised as well. He checked the drawer and did not see any. He said he would get me one in the back. He came out with it rolled up and a rubber band on it. I thanked him and left.

When I got home, it was a Naruto poster instead of Skylanders. So, that's when I decided to contact the online customer service. We spent over $200 on those Skylanders Days and much more than that over the years at Gamestop. I contacted Gamestop thinking it would not be that much of a hassle. I have had to contact Amazon, Walmart and other companies before and have never had as much trouble as I have had with Gamestop. I spent months with Blue Cross Blue Shield trying to get my insurance fixed and also a long time with Tracfone trying to get a refund but in the end I got it fixed. Gamestop not so much. They are horrendous!!! First time I wrote to them, I explained that all I wanted was to join the Skylanders Adventure Club and get credit for the Skylanders we bought, that we should probably have 2 or 3 free ones by now. Time after time, I got copy and paste responses from them.

Most of the time, the responses had nothing to do with my problem. Copy and paste responses are insulting. They are just a way for them to get rid of you and not even listen to you. With some, it was obvious they had not read any of it. I finally, got someone many days later that asked me for all my receipt information. I spent 30 min or so typing all that information for him plus some other info he asked for specifically. I even scanned the receipts in. He then wrote back and said it was escalated to another team and he could not promise me anything. After a few more days of not hearing anything, I wrote him back and he just told me to remember he escalated it and could not do anything about it. Then after a few more days I got a response on the other ticket I had opened. There was nothing there. Just the Gamestop ad and a thank you from an employee.

I wrote back that I could not see any message. A response came back and it was another no response email! I perceived that she was trying to get rid of me and make it look like she had answered me. I called her out on that. She responded with a copy and paste email that she would be frustrated too and to go to the store. I had had that told to me a few times already and had already explained why I was not going back to the store (would you want to go back to that store?). She told me to call the number. I had told them why I would not call as well because it would use my time and my minutes on my phone and cost me. It got so stupid with all the copy and paste emails. They were not reading my emails at all even though I asked them to. I asked them for a manager 6 times at least and they would not have a manager talk to me. They kept copying and pasting responses that did not address my problem. I kept at it.

I even got a response one day from a girl that said all my points were there for those purchases (I am a PowerUp Pro Rewards member and get points) but she would give me 2,000 points as a courtesy for the confusion. She even bolded that line as if I am some dolt or something who was confused all this time. I bolded back to her that I knew the points were there and that this had nothing to do with points. I asked for a manager again and copy and pasted (told them I would since they love to do it so much) for the third time all my information and what the problem was in the first place. Now, the problem was their horrible customer service and attitude. Another person answered me and said they could see many people had handled my email. She said they had limited knowledge of the Skylanders Adventure Club and to call customer service. UGH!

I copied and pasted it again and asked for a manager again. Another guy wrote me back and said he forwarded all of it to an upper level of management at the store. At the store?! Give me a break. It has been many days now and I still have not heard anything. I have wasted too much time on all this with Gamestop. I have had bad customer service before but Gamestop is probably the worst ever. I told them I would go to this website and complain and even write the HQ out in Texas. It didn't seem to faze them. Asking for a manager did not help at all. I wrote a letter but I have not sent it yet. I am thinking about it but this is just ridiculous. I don't think I will be buying much at Gamestop from now on.

I have three active email support calls and one phone in support call that have been escalated and are awaiting response by the 'appropriate' group that these complaints were escalated to. I purchased approximately a dozen of online only games via the GameStop PC app (formerly Impluse/ImpuseDriven from StarDock). These games allow you to install them on your machine or download them and install them later. After a crash, I reinstalled just one of those games and was recently going to install others, but could not get the GameStop PC App to show those games. Therefore nearly a dozen of the games purchased are now apparently lost.

This occurred previously when GameStop changed its password methodology and broke the connection to its online games server. It took nearly 3 months for it to recognize my new password and show those games. No explanations or apologies to the thousands of users was ever given. When I loaded the GameStop PC App a month ago, I noticed only the single installed game (TA) was showing. The others, non-installed games, usually show up grayed out indicated I can download and install them. No luck, not showing. There is a diagnostic tool that writes out to a log file what the app is doing during log on or errors. That log was reporting 404 Not Found. The App tries to log in three times then bypasses and goes to the main screen to allow installed games to be played. But, since it can't make contact to the game server, it doesn't allow access to your purchased games.

I have a complete screen shot off all my purchased games and their serial numbers. I sent these in with one of the interchanges to the cs rep so they know that my claim is valid. Two email and the phone support call have 'escalated' to the 'proper department'. It is approaching a month with NO access to my games and three weeks with NO solution or explanation to the cause. Not even an estimate as to when a solution will occur.

Also, GameStop apparently doesn't keep its order history from when it dropped active support of the GameStop PC App / ImpluseDriven program for online games and switched over to just Key codes for Steam. Therefore my account shows no order history. _OR_ they have a drop dead date for how far back they show orders. I asked the Rep several times this question and never got a response. I have attached images of the GameStop PC App showing what it shows now (just the TA game installed) and another one showing a slate of the games that I should have access to. More detailed files are available upon request.

The GameStop PC App never allowed you and option to download and _not_ install the game. Aka archive for later. When you downloaded it you _had_ to install it. What good now are all those games to the thousands of people who bought them if their PC crashes? Which Windows is so prone too. Which is what occurred to me 6 months ago. GameStop also never indicated that there was a deadline or time that it would not allow downloads in the future. E.G., a cut off final date for the PC App games to be downloaded for a final time. I believe this is because if they had said that they would have had to create a mechanism to allow those thousands of customers to download their games and that feature wasn't in the PC App's mechanism.

GameStop needs to come clean and say that it will screw thousands by not allowing them access to their games or fix their server. At least have the common courtesy of admitting the issue and giving us some sort of timeline for its solution. Finally, all I can add is purchase online games from GameStop with the assumption that they will drop support or accessibility to that game after a time.

I placed an order for my son's birthday - 2 weeks prior to his birthday. They sent a confirmation of the order the following morning. They then sent an email that the card was declined and asked that I contact the bank to clear and respond to the email with the word "RESOLVED" in the email title. I did this immediately. A week later, and 4 days prior to his birthday I received an email stating they had cancelled the order.

The customer service rep I spoke with stated that the person responsible for reviewing my "RESOLVED" email didn't review it, that I should have called after speaking with my bank (although their email instructed me to contact them via email) and that she had no way of resolving the issue, other than me replacing the order and paying for overnight shipping myself. I had to wait 15+ min on hold and then this took her another 20+ min for her to "help" me by informing me she could do nothing. She then asked why I hadn't just looked for the items I wanted at a store (you know, after I was under the impression I had an online order completed). She offered to give me some Gamestop points but was unable to locate my account with any of the information I provided (name, my last 3 phone numbers and my email address, the latter of which I've had for 7+ years).

I then waited another 10-15 min and spoke with supervisor, Mike. He placed the order and agreed to free expedited shipping. This was the resolution that the cust. service person should've offered without me having to get frustrated and angry and demand to speak to a supervisor. Unfortunately, one of the items had increased by $20 and I had to point this out, to which he made a "one-time exception" to honor the price of the original order. The whole phone call took over an hour and 14 minutes. Very disappointing overall service so far. I gave it a 2 only because the supervisor seemed semi-reasonable. We'll see if it all arrives in time and functioning.

Update an hour later - my credit card bank account again declined Gamestop. I called Gamestop to use a different card, which took over 45 minutes and had to repeat the new credit card information about half a dozen times, which was very suspicious. The first card now has a $45 fraudulent online charge on it for the first time in the account's 7-year history (for movie tickets). Coincidence?

I hate this form of sales. It's too aggressive. Let customers have some freedom. At this point I dread going in there because I know I have about 30 seconds of peace, tops. That particular store needs to realize they can make money only through inventory sales and can't always rely on corporate to bail them out by sending them new ships on inventory or being the go to store for shipping out particular games if not in stock in the store itself. They have to expand further by not having such harsh policy on trade ins. How will they make their money if customers decide to be cheap on their spending and the only way the customers will spend is with used games?

I don't have the card because I have the app on my phone, which Gamestop employees encouraged me to get and use because it was easier.

The employee at the store told me to call a customer service line to get a new card to get the pin. I called and waited on the phone for over an hour before finally getting through. When I got through, the customer service representative told me that sending me a new card was a difficult process, but that that store employees could fix it by transferring the balance to a new card. So I went back to the store, and the employee there told me that I had been told wrong, and that there was literally nothing he could do without that pin number. I told him that customer service had told me to come back to the store, and asked what I was supposed to do if I got that response again? He responded that there was nothing he could do and didn't know what to tell me. So I called customer service back and after waiting over an hour for a response again, I finally gave up and just hung up the phone in disgust.

I did all my Christmas shopping online this year, due to having an accident putting me in a wheel chair. I just started walking with a walker and cane. I called Gamestop to ask about returning an item. They said it has been 30 days and they will not take the return. They start counting the days from the time it was ordered. So they have to pick it yet and mail it and your time starts there. I am ten days overdue. They would buy it back from me at a much cheaper price. I wouldn't give them the opportunity to make one red cent off me. Better know their policies. They will not bend under any reason. I will never buy from them again.

A relative bought a digital download of Black Ops III Season Pass from Gamestop. We will never use that company again under any circumstances. The relative did not see any designation for console, and they are tech savvy, and made the purchase which turned out to be a Playstation download and not the Xbox One. Although the Download did not designate PlayStation it did on the receipt. Now it won't work and they will not issue a code for the Xbox One. Absolutely the worst customer service I have seen in years. Hang up if you get 'Diego' who is a supervisor and barely speaks English.

I ordered a Wii bundle, complete with the console and 2 pre-owned games. I emailed customer service to check the status of my order 4 business days later (since they said it would take 1 day for processing and 3-5 days for delivery) and was told that the order had shipped and would be delivered the following Monday (which would have been the 6th business day).

On that Monday, I never received the package and called customer service. I waited on hold for over 2 hours before I finally spoke with a customer service rep who told me that my order had actually never processed or been shipped. The representative on the phone told me he could process the order, but I wouldn't receive it in time for Christmas because I had only paid for 3-5 day shipping. I had to argue with him that I had paid for 3-5 business day shipping 7 business days ago and that they had dropped the ball by: a) not processing the order in time and b) blatantly lying to me about my order being shipped.

Once the order processed, I received an email that one of the games was delayed and would be sent once it was available. We received the console along with the other game, only to find that the game wouldn't play. I exchanged the game at a gamestop near my house and the rep in the store commented on how he couldn't believe they would have sent me such a bad looking game (the disc was tarnished) and made sure to give me a good copy.

Not quite a week later, we received the second game and, once again, it won't play and is tarnished like the first. So I will have to make another trip to a gamestop location to exchange the game. So, after paying for 3-5 business day shipping, I received my order 2 weeks later, was blatantly lied to, and still had to make 2 trips to the store to exchange both defective games (which they advertise are tested before being sent out). I was told there was nothing that could be done about the agent lying to me even though I have his name (Chris **) and offered to send a copy of the email he sent me. This was my first order with Gamestop and definitely will be my last.

My brother and mother both bought €50 credit each Xbox Live points at your store in Carlow from the store manager. They were purchased at the same time & date, one on a card & one with cash. My mum has found the card receipt and the cash receipt, but she cut the top off of the code receipt (that came with the card) so she can't find the product ID number. She taped the bottom half of the receipt in place into the card, in case she lost it before Christmas morning. At the same time my mum bought a year's live membership for €60 (from Santa) and the Xbox One. In total we've spent over €200 on points alone.

The code cannot be fully read. Microsoft say it is up to you to refund or replace, as the code has not been used. GameStop insist it's up to Microsoft, which makes no sense as GameStop has €50 & we've nothing to show for it. They even encouraged my mum to buy another €50 worth of points, and then failed to do anything about the damaged code? Microsoft continue to say that only the retailer can refund or replace, as the sale was made through the retailer, and I'm no closer to having my issue resolved or my money or code replaced. In fact, Microsoft have told me to complain to the Department of Trade, but I think as a virtual product I can bring the issue up with the IC3 as well.

Regardless, it's disgraceful how GameStop are one of the few sellers in Ireland allowed to sell Microsoft points but won't do so in line with the policy Microsoft have (which is on a card with a QR code so Microsoft can track it) and have 'dishonestly appropriated property that isn't theirs', namely our €50, which as a gesture of goodwill (and with Microsoft's consent) they should have replaced, considering how often we've shopped there since the store opened and how much money we spent this week alone. Instead they were rude and unhelpful and generally uninterested in wasting their own time during the "busy period at Microsoft" by "waiting on hold for hours for someone to answer the phone". It's your job. Do it.

Now another 7 days later I get an email stating the same problem so I contacted the bank and they informed me the funds were approved on 12/8/15 and they see where GameStop is trying to charge for the same item again today 12/15/15. After spending a hour on hold and another hour finding a customer representative who could speak proper English and understand the problem I was told by the CS Manager that the order is in process of being shipped and would be shipped today and I would get a tracking # today for it. Wrong!!!

Got another email the same as last saying there is a verification problem. After checking with Comenity Bank they again told me they approved the funds and it looks like GameStop is trying to charge my credit card again for the same item. Now most likely the gift my son wanted for Xmas will not be here in time. I've made 2 customer complaint via their online help desk with no response and that was a week ago when I made the first complaint. I will NEVER shop with GameStop again either online or in store and as soon as I can I will be cancelling my GS Credit Card. Had to use an old billing address even though bank has current one on file. Then after finally getting the order to submit... About an hour later we get a message that says card was declined and order was not processed. During the order process it said would not charge the card until the products shipped. Checked the bank account and the entire total was charged to the card right away. Called the bank because the email said it may have been blocked by bank.

Bank said there are no blocks on the account and they released the money. Called Gamestop to hear repeated message about 30 minute wait due to high call volume. Waited on hold for 40 minutes to have rep tell me that the order was put on hold because the shipping and billing address did not match. That the billing and shipping have to be the same. I stated that there were issues getting the order to process with the correct billing address. I said that made no sense because the site allows you to change the billing address. I also told him that the billing should match the shipping address.

SO he said he had to change that and would put the order through again. I asked several times if that meant he was going to charge the card again. I told him the bank said the money was already released to GameStop. He said no and that it would be processed for shipping. It's been 4 days since I put the order in and the bank still shows the charge as pending and nothing has changed for the status of order. I asked for confirmation number or something to show the changes he made. He said they would email any updates. No emails were sent. I am now again on hold hearing the same high call volume message at 7:30 pm have been on hold waiting for 25 minutes. I will never order from them again. Over $500 order and they can't process because it's being shipped to a different address than the credit card is billed. Crazy!!

First off all it makes no sense to me that my local Gamestop would not return a brand new game that I bought within the first 24 hrs. I realized COD III PS3 edition was not split screen about 4 hours after I purchased the game. Of all the reviews I read online they were regarding PS4 COD III which supports split screen play, so I did not think to look on the back of the ps3 game. It is useless to me to own a game that is only 1 player per console considering my boyfriend also enjoys the game. He called and asked if they could return it and although the employee gave us a hard time about it he said we could return it for a full cash refund. I later thought that I may run into a problem when I went to return it if this same gentleman was not working.

I looked online and realized that the Gamestop policy said that they would not return any opened new items. A side note is that I do not get why they give you up to 7 days to get a full refund on USED games but they would not return my game that I used for like than 5 minutes brand new. I called my local Gamestop and the ** on the phone was malicious and told me basically laughing at me that he could not return the game. I then called another semi local store about an hour away from me and they said they WOULD do the return for FULL CASH REFUND. So obviously I called my local store back and he answered again and I asked him why they would take it back for cash and he said "they are breaking policy". He continued to say that if that was the case he SUGGESTS that we go there.

I said "forget it. I will take the FULL store credit refund" as this jerk stated we could. Went up to the store and he was there but did not help us. The other employee said that he would only give me 30$ back for the game I bought the day before... I said "well then I want my money back" and he asked the jerk and I said "no need to ask him. He already said no..." and he said "yep I said no". I said that's BS called him a ** and left. As I am walking out they are laughing. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience. I waited 2 hours on the complaint line for the past 3 days. Every time I call the store the manager is NEVER in. I just can't believe someone would be so RUDE to me when I am giving him a job and his company business. I can't say I have ever had this problem at a Gamestop before. After 48 hours, which is the time they said at the latest I would be contacted about my email, I still had yet to get an email. So I went back to their page and sent another email. Still I did not get a reply, I have not even got a reply to this time. On Monday night they decided to send me an email saying that they were shipping my order now and gave me an email to contact if I had any questions so I sent in an email again to that email and still no response.

Let me tell you how GameStop lost my business over $43. I placed an order for ten used, rather cheap games. Three of them arrived in an envelope. Three more arrived a week later in their own box, one of them arrived via its own envelope, and two more arrived in its own box. And I am still awaiting the last game, but I'll get to that later. So that's five different packages for what amounts to $43 worth of used, old games. As mentioned, I have only received nine out of my ten games. I placed an order on October 7th, and as of today, November 11th it still isn't here. I have contacted GameStop's customer service via phone and email several times about this issue, and every time I've called it they've said they can't cancel the order, and that it's processing.

Apparently since I used PayPal, two things happened. One was that my order was stuck in limbo for the last charged item somehow (a $5.80 game) which caused to be in the "processing" state forever. And two, my debit card associated with the PayPal account was charged as well because for two charges of $21.82 (equaling the $43.00 total of my order) and my original PayPal was never refunded.

So, I was charged twice for my order and not refunded, because GameStop wasn't aware of it because I assume it was an automated system. I had to call in to customer service to get that second charge reversed, but that's just where the fun really begins. After that, and only receiving nine of my ten games, and one of those nine freezed at the installation (so much for that pre-owned guarantee) I was so unhappy with GameStop that I contacted customer support through email (which took DAYS for them to respond) and shipped back my whole order to return it.

Now, two weeks after sending it back, I finally get a notice from PayPal that I have received a refund from GameStop. Great right? No. The refund was for inexplicably, only $0.62. I called customer service and explained the situation to them and they said don't worry the rest of the refund is processing to your debit card. I have never seen any company take this long to process a refund, what I think actually happened is that my money is just lost forever in the void. I'll probably never get that money refunded to my debit and that final tenth game will never arrive. Yeah, I had to send back all of the games before the final game showed up because it was getting too close to the thirty day return window closing.

I have never been so disgusted with a company in my life. I am getting the runaround from customer service, a $5.80 charge is perpetually "processing" and I'm told I can't cancel the final game being sent to me, and my refund is still processing after a week and a half. I spent hours of my life trying to get a refund for what amounts to less than $50, and probably will have to spend hours more if I want to make any progress on this missing game and refund. So I probably won't ever do business with GameStop again because of this, and let it serve as a warning to anyone who buys used games from GameStop online, especially with PayPal.

Okay, so, I went to my local Gamestop about a week ago in order to trade-in my XBox 360, xbox one controller, and Kinect for 360. Upon doing so, I also paid another 45 dollars in order to pay off one of the two copies of Star Wars battlefront for XBox one, as well as preordering Fallout 4 and the season pass. Upon leaving the store I asked the employee if he put the transaction on my rewards account and he answered yes saying, "you don't even need your receipt, we have it all on the computer".

Just today I returned to this gamestop in order to pay more toward my Fallout preorder and when asked for the telephone number, I gave them the one associated with my powerup rewards only to be told I had no preorders. After this, I presented them the receipt and the employee (different employee from the original one) said that the preorder was under a different name and number. A name and number which I had never heard of.

The person had also preordered another game on this account since I had been there originally. It took quite a while to have this switched into my name and though the employee told me he put it in my name, even after I gave him my phone number multiple times and he saw my name on the drivers license i presented him to trade the things in, he put it under some random name and number. A name and number I can only assume he knew.

Had I thrown away the receipt like I was originally told, my $150 would be gone. I called customer care to file a complaint and they put me on hold for over an hour before the line cut out. I feel this employee may have been attempting to steal from me, especially since he blatantly told me that I could throw my receipt away. Terrible customer service.

Gamestop should support the US military. For example military discounts, #2 I previously pre-ordered a game, paid for it (the full amount). I came down on emergency deployment orders and was leaving the morning that the game was released. They had the game in the store and would not give it to me with my deployment orders. I ended up have to get a refund... I didn't want the money, I wanted my game. It really sucks that we as military soldiers have so many organizations that don't support us because everything is always about the money.

I am absolutely appalled by Gamestop. My 10 year old son saved enough gift certificate from his birthday and other holidays to purchase the Xbox Ear Force X32 Wireless gaming headset that cost $89.99 plus tax and shipping. When he has enough, I helped him place the order online on October 4, 2015. The total came to $102.16. He used all his gift cards and I paid the balance of $2.95. We waited for over 10 days for the headset to come. It never did. Then on 10/21/2015, I received an email stating that the order was cancelled. I immediately called Gamestop and asked why. They informed me that the order was cancelled because I cancelled it. THIS IS NOT TRUE!

The customer service rep I was talking to said that he can reorder the headset but there was no new ones in stock and that he would be able to sent a refurbished set that cost $69.99 with gift cards with the remainder balance of he should be refunded. And it will be sent to us overnight on Gamestop. This was done on October 21, 2015. A week has past and I call Customer service again and they tell me they do not understand why the order is still open and has not been shipped out. He proceeds to ensure me that it will be sent out right away and will be shipped overnight. This phone conversation happened on October 27, 2015.

It is now Nov 2, 2015 and we still have not received the headset and I have been waiting on the hold with customer service for 45 minutes. At this point, I would like a check issued to me personally for the three gift cards that were used for the original purchase and I will take my business somewhere else. I have a 10 year old who saved for an item and is now being robbed the amount of his gift cards that were $100 and still no merchandise. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Poor customer service and bad business practice. Please feel free to inbox me and I will give you my personal contact information so we can resolve this issue.

Note before we begin, this is a review for Gamestop's online store, not for individual retail locations, as my local Gamestop is filled with great employees. When I saw a sale on used PS2 games I loaded up my cart without even thinking. However when I received only 16 out of the 18 games I ordered, I was extremely disappointed to find nearly all the games scratched up, some wouldn't even work. And every single game was in plastic sleeves, not even generic cases. WTF! Their website doesn't even tell you the condition of the games or if the cases were included. For a collector like me, I'm going to have to spend more money on resurfacing the games and buying new cases, than I did for the games themselves.

This cards seemed like a good idea, supporting GameStop over the larger mega stores, even despite Comenity's high-interest rate and the impossible task of accessing your account. The card was ordered in December and it took four months for the card to arrive. A purchase was made in August. Their site is almost always times out and they do not send paperless statement notifications in the email so I was in the dark until they started emailing me about late fees in September. This is also when their site went through a re-design and was suddenly very easy to access. I immediately paid the balance off, very steamed that the circumstances occurred in this unfortunate way. I received an email stating the payment was received.

7 days later the payment was rejected because my account there was "something wrong with my account". Comenity decided that this was a secret and let me sit in ignorance regarding this. I heard nothing from Comenity again until another late fee was charged, this time 30 dollars. If I log into their site I cannot see my account number to tell what is wrong and customer service won't tell me why the payment was rejected. I am getting fraudulently charged by this company and I don't know what to do.

He asked if I had the 5 names but they were on the phone I was using. He said, "Get them" and he would call back in 5 minutes.

6 hours later I called back after waiting 40 minutes and was told I forfeited them. Now they will not respond to me at all. I have never seen such poor customer service and degrading to a customer. I have been a retail manager for over 30 years and have never seen anything like this. Thanks for disappointing my granddaughters Christmas and also trying to get me to sign up for your rewards program after you screwed me and refused to correct the issue. Hello. Well for the record I don't want to address this as a general thing for all the stores but for one in specific. I am from Las Vegas NV and the store is right on Boulder and Nellis. Today I went to return a set of afterglow headset. Showed my receipt and the item to the salesperson and told him that I've been having a ridiculous amount of static while using the headset. The guy starts looking at me weird, and then he goes back and forth looking at his computer as if it was the first time in his life he has seen someone return an item. To me it looked like he didn't even know the return policy of the place he works for. So anyway he tells me that I can't return a new item that has been opened, then I go and show him - here on the receipt says new (opened or unopened) accessories can be returned for full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Well that should have been enough for anyone to clear any doubt about the issue, so that not being enough hassle already; this other sales guy stepped in interrupting me and basically saying that I am a liar and that I shouldn't be trying to return the item. So he goes and says - Just this one time we are going to help you out - that was just ridiculous. I wasn't there asking for help or a charity, I was returning an item expecting them to follow their own policy. This kind of treatment is wrong, it is clear that they were discriminating me just for the fact that I was returning an item. They thought that I was just going to leave if they gave me a hard time. People like that don't deserve a job anywhere.

I recently banked enough points to get a "signed" comic book. This "signed" book cost 20,000 points whereas unsigned books are typically in the 8,000 point range. I received the comic quickly, however, it wasn't signed as advertised. The artist signature was pre-printed on the book just as every other comic book has. As others have said, Gamestop's phone and e-mail customer support team is non-existent. E-mails initiated through the Gamestop.com customer service form go into a black hole. Now I officially, really hate Gamestop!!! Ok, a few weeks ago I went into the Gamestop in my area to pick up my copy of Batman Arkham Knight that I had money on. The Gamestop guy scans my Gamestop card and says there is no reserve for Batman. What??! So he scans my Gamestop card again, and no luck. Then I pull out my phone and show him on my Gamestop app that I do have a reserve on Batman and it shows how much money I have on it. He still can't find it in the system... So the other Gamestop clerk took over my situation and starts looking in the system.

So they didn't find my Batman reservation but he found 3 things: 1) a reserve for a game 3 years ago with $20 on it (the manager from 3 years ago swears up and down I never gave him $20 and forced me to pay full price for a game I put money down on...), 2) a reserve for Watch Dogs with $8 on it from over a year ago, 3) a reserve for Watch Dogs with $5 on it (the Gamestop person told me the $8 I placed the first time disappeared and I had to put money on it again...) The Gamestop guy found these 3 reserves because the past employees were putting the reserves on my old phone number that does not even work anymore and what was the point of asking me if my current phone number is correct if you're going to go into the system and put my future reserves on my previous phone number???

So the Gamestop guy asks me if I want my money back? What??!! YESS!!! But I thought it was Gamestop policy that once I put money down I cannot get it back?? He said you can ALWAYS get your money back, he turned his monitor towards me and showed me the cancel button on the reservation screen. So now he just proved to me that everyone from his manager (a real total **) to his other employees are all liars!!!! So I got my money back, paid for my Batman and left the store.

The next morning I was cleaning my room and found my receipt for my Batman reservation and went back to the Gamestop with it and showed the same employee who gave me back my money it. He scanned the barcode on the receipt and he found out that the assistant manager put my Batman reserve on a phone number from 4 years ago that does not work!!!! I got my money back!!!

Just this morning I called the Gamestop to find out if a game came out already and the manager was a total **!!! She was very rude and nasty on the phone and all I asked was if they will have this game on the day it comes out!! Her name is ** of the Flatbush Ave. Gamestop store. So instead of less than $2 getting charged to my card, the whole $60 were charged and I am left with gift cards we cannot use. The bigger problem is the way they handle the calls. I was on hold for about 30 mins until someone got on the phone and I asked for a supervisor and was left on hold for an even longer time. Obviously they were not willing to fix this for me. This is simple. Back out the order, credit my card and redo it entering the gift cards first.

At the very least, handle the phone call - do not leave the customer on hold waiting for them to get tired and hang up. The one-star is not so much for the fact that they were not willing to fix this but for the cowardly way of handling customer problems. After more than 10 years of buying exclusively from them and paying for a subscription, this is not the way to be treated for asking for a resolution.

I called ahead of time making sure that I could buy a brand new copy even though I am not 17+ because my mom was there with my last time too use her card. The employee said it was okay and he had already checked with his manager. I get to the store today (April 31, 2015) and apparently the rules changed and I have to buy another GTA V copy (pre-owned) because I didn't have a sticker to prove my one year insurance on the game, even though I had my receipt. So here I am with another pre-owned copy that is guaranteed to work, even though they couldn't test it on the systems I know they have set up in the back room! GameStop is definitely not the place to go! Screw working there I don't want people writing horrible reviews about me! Thanks for reading my post.

They can assist you when the hotline gives you the runaround. When I say runaround, I mean you can call 4 times and then speak to a "supervisor" or "manager" a few times and still not have your issue resolved. Or they will give you some lie that "this will be sent out via email in X amount of time" when in reality, this is not true. They don't have the power to guarantee that. You will need to complain to Gamestop HQ at GRAPEVINE TX. Also, stop ripping people off Gamestop. You already have a database of fingerprints, shouldn't that be enough for you???

I left their store unsatisfied, and saved a lot of money elsewhere. I had asked the manager if his prices could be online comparable? He said no. Then, I said I would be happy to pay a couple dollars more for each item, but his prices for used games was too high. He tried to sell me a discounted 10% membership card, while overcharging me $4-$8 "more" per item. I told him with "one click of my keyboard" and could buy online. I bought online! I had entered his store with a list of outdated WII games and was about spend $100 to $250 in used games. It was a great lesson for my children, they watched me talk, and he said NO, then we went home and ordered everything online. I told him that our store at the other end of the mall always worked with the customer, he didn't. This is the second time they failed to step up. All takes is a customer that can count to 2. I have been aware of GameStops horrible reputation for a while now, but never experienced it myself. The last place I lived had a wonderful store, and I was happy with the employees and the service I received every time. Recently, we moved through the military to California. I had heard complaints of the store nearby from my father, who said the employees were rude - he went to the store to check for a game and was told, "Well, there's no way you're getting that here." I'm assuming the employee meant that it was necessary to place a pre-order for a more obscure game, but is that an okay way to speak to a customer?

The same employee has also spoken to me in a condescending way. I went in to buy a game a couple of weeks ago. The employee asked me if I wanted the game new or pre-owned. I prefer to buy my games new and told him so. He said the game would be 7 dollars cheaper if I choose to buy it pre-owned, but I told him I wasn't really concerned about saving the extra 7 dollars. His response? "Well, you should be." I was shocked that he would speak to me that way about a purchase that I was making with my own money. I tried to brush it off, but weeks later I'm still offended about the way I was treated in a store I previously held in high regards. Unfortunately, I did not keep the receipt for my purchase, so I was unable to complain directly to Gamestop. I really regret that now!

I pre-ordered a physical copy of a PC game Dec 2014 along with a friend, fully paying off the purchase with Gamestop gift cards. We used two different cards for the purchase and everything seemed to have gone smoothly. Until this last week... I was sent an email telling me that the order was cancelled, so I go to check the gift card balances and both cards are empty. The game I preordered months ago, was just charged and cancelled a few days before the game is released. This irritates me, because a pre-order should be a PRE-ORDER. And that means you should get the game DAY 1 of release. Gamestop apparently thinks a preorder shouldn't arrive at the customer's residency until days after a game is released. I decide call Gamestop support and wait literally 4 hours on hold, listening to the same 3 advertisements on loop.

Finally, I get a support agent. He was kind, but not able to really assist me with my problem, I'm assuming he had no clearance to give me credit or refund me quicker; which I think should have happened. I ordered the game months ago to try and avoid these issues. Anyways, I was told I would be refunded within 48 hours. I waited 3 days and the refund finally came. I checked both cards for balance and only one card had a balance. One card should have had $70, the other should have had $50. I only got $70 back. At this point, I really don't even want to go through the torture of the phone support, or even the online chat. I just wanted to order my stupid game. So I put the game in my cart, along with some cheap items. I made sure to order the digital copy, because that's the only way I will be able to play with my friends on day one. And then I went to checkout.

After entering the required information and clicking checkout, I was given an error. It quickly disappeared. I checked my orders to see if it went through anyways, and it didn't. So I tried to order it again. No luck. I am prompted with a message telling me I have insufficient funds. I check the card balance and have $10 left. I was charged for the game and it isn't even in an open order! Was I just scammed? It's like my money is lost in their system or something. This was an awful experience and I think I will be sticking to Steam for now on.

First time they retrieved the receipt and promised it was on its way. As of 4/10 Sony had not received it and now gamestop says cannot find receipt unless you give us more information.

You are better off buying items from Amazon or any other retailer than gamestop. They have the absolute worst customer service ever. Oh and the second time i called them, they put me back on hold and just left me there for 45 minutes. I stopped by at a GameStop to pick up some games. I got a pre-owned bundle containing Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas for 7.99 USD. The guy working the register is acting suspicious, so while in the car I check the bag to ensure I got it all. Fallout 3 was not there. So I go back and ask what the heck happened. He says "it won't let me put them both in for 7.99". Okay, I ask for the manager and she comes and types in something. She hands me the bag and wishes me "a great rest of the day". I then look again and the box of Fallout 3 still is not there.

At this point I am too tired to care about the potential $8 I wasted, so I go home. In the morning I check the box, and I find that THEY JUST STUFFED THE OTHER GAME INTO ANOTHER BOX THAT I GOT! Also, Fallout 3 is apparently only "Disc One" so I am missing disc two! Would not recommend going to GameStop.

The Gamestop between 21st and 22nd street on 6 ave has the worst FAT rep EVER. The first encounter happened when I was purchasing a game for my son. Myself and wife were the only lesbian couple there, the FAT employee was talking loudly about gay and lesbians with some person with whom she had accompany her to work. When I got to the desk for purchase I explained to her that, that was disrespectful and unprofessional to have had a conversation as such. Her reply was, "Oh that's my sister and she was gay." WAS GAY? WTH. I left that alone.

Second encounter this time I was purchasing a family game (dance central). She states this is the only copy. I look at the disk to check for scratches. I know when I turned my back this DOG put a whole other game in the box in which I had to come back and return for the right game. Funny the RAT wasn't in which means she only does part time lol. Too fat to fit her in on a full schedule.

This last encounter was the last straw. I came in with my wife to purchase an Ecard for my son. OMG this ** had to ring it up, she so kindly in her FAT Albert voice to my wife said, "You left your card here." I immediately glance at my wife because she never leaves her card. Ok let that fly over my head. Get outside after making the purchase and my wife is saying that B kept my card on purpose. I go right back into Gamestop and ask, "Did you take the card or did she leave it?" This animal starts screaming. I said, "Why are you screaming? I am just asking a question." (Only guilty parties get offended when they're caught and you call them out on it). She continued to scream then claimed she can refuse service to us since she feels that we had an issue since the beginning.

If any one white or black was in a professional place (or suppose to be) and you're the only one there and people are speaking indirectly about you, you too would feel disrespected, so yes I had an issue with MISS PIGGY and kept my contact with her short. When she did that she called the so called police claiming she had people she wanted to remove, I laughed at her telling her, "The police are going to look at you like the asinine you are saying you called for this?" As I was waiting for the arrival of the police she kept going with her mouth needless to say I was about to end up in jail, so my wife started to leave. I explained to her, "Been to jail. Never scared to fight you and go there," but that FAT PIG never came from around that counter. (So who's scared NOW?)

I have been on this rep's mind since the first contact while I'm living and buying. She wonders if I'm coming in to shop (worried). The EXTRA LARGE SPANISH/DUMMY IN A CAN'S NAME is **. GameStop you need to stop hiring FAT LAZY UNSTABLE people just because you pay little, pay more and get better staff. If your company can't give better service by hiring people with respect and professionalism then make your whole company an online service. But seen the reviews for that and you suck in that area too. Don't heave the advice, and continue to not read the reviews and make revisions and you too will be gone like all the other companies who had the same issues. Don't shop there. Better time and service @ 33rd and 6 ave or 14th in Union Square. Hungry people are always rude with attitudes. And the gay supervisor wants to keep her? Hummm no one wants him or her so they can only turn to each other.

She proceeds to tell me that because I chose to ship it to a po box it was going to take 7-10 days. Nowhere on the site did it say that if you ship to a po box it would take longer.

Well guess what it gets better. I go onto the site and search for at least 30 minutes into the site till I finally find their policy on shipping. It says that if you ship to a po box and Alaska (which is where I live) that it takes 10-14 days! NOWHERE on the site did it tell me this as I put in my shipping information. I went to one and noticed it was packed, the line was long so I figured I'd browse and go to the other store. I was looking to pick up Madden 15 and Evil Within for PS4. The games were 39.99 and 29.99, respectively.

So I walk over to the other store, no lines. I ask the clerk if he has used copies of those games to save some money, I have a Power up card, he rings them up at 49.99 each! I'm like, hold on, wait a minute. I was just at the other store and saw that Madden and Evil Within were cheaper new. I say, "I thought the Madden was like $39.99 new?" The idiot says, "Let me check."

I'm thinking this is all you do, sell games and you don't know Madden is $39 and the used copy should be cheaper! He's says "I forgot." I say, "Well what about the other game?" He comes back, "You were right on that too." I think this particular GS store is ripping off the game makers and I hope they read this!

Alrighty, where do I begin? I PREORDERED a PS4, extra controller AND a game the DAY THE PS4 was made available for preorder. About 3 months later I got transferred from Seattle, Wa to Boise, Id for business. I immediately went to the local gamestop and informed them of what happened. Had to call original gamestop for order info so that the gamestop in Boise could transfer my order. Everything was said and done. I was happy.

2 days after the PS4 was available to purchase I went to pick it up and pay my remaining balance. When I arrived at the store I was informed that they SOLD MY PREORDERED PS4 to another customer. I was ABSOLUTELY LIVID. Then they said they could still sell me the game and extra controller I had ordered. Why the hell would I want a game and controller for a system I DONT OWN YET??? I called the District Manager for Gamestop and told him what happened. He said they would get a new system shipped to the store within 5 business days. WEAK.

I then asked what kind of compensation he was going to offer for their mistake and he told me he could give me 10% ONE GAME. Seriously??? 10% off ONE GAME for them dropping the ball and selling my PS4 that I had PREORDERED a YEAR PRIOR??? WOW. 5 or so days later I picked up my system and accessories and didn't even THINK to shop there EVER AGAIN until the other night.

I had decided at about 1 am I was going to join the PSN network so I can play online. The membership costs $50 and gamestop is THE ONLY PLACE I could find a $50 PSN card online. I figured I would order it so I didn't have to purchase multiple cards from amazon and enter multiple codes. The gamestop website says AVAILABLE NOW under the description so I purchased it. I had purchased PSN cards from Amazon before and had no problems, so I figured getting a DIGITAL CODE from a game retailer like GAMESTOP wouldn't be an issue.

I placed the order and received 2 email confirming my purchase. The second email notified me that it would take 12-48 hours to process my payment. 12-48 hours??!? Seriously??! My WEED dealer can process debit payments faster. I waited awake until 3 am waiting for my code, but didn't receive it until 11 am!!! 10 hours later. What the HELL took so long?? You take games in there for trade in or to sell them and they usually offer between $4 and $9. Then they turn right around and resell it for $44.99. Ripoff. I now use CRAIGSLIST to buy and sell my games. Amazon has games CHEAP but I hate waiting and you can get good deals on CL. Don't shop at Gamestop. They are a bunch a arrogant idiots who only know how to screw things up.

My 12 yr. old son got a stack of game stop gift cards for his birthday. Great! Not so much. When we went to use them today at the Somers Point, NJ GameStop one of the $25 gift cards did not work. They told me to call the number on the back to resolve, so I did. I put my order on hold behind the counter and called the number. Tried balance inquiry and tried to talk to associate, to no avail. Couldn't even get someone on the phone. Anyway one of the sales reps tried to call for me and even he had to wait a while before hearing from anyone. So the card was not purchased from a GameStop so they could not track it, WHAT!? Why even sell them anywhere else if you can't track them to help customers when needed. So I asked for the manager and he told me he could not do anything that the card was not scanned properly or someone walked out with it.

So now it's my problem. Am I to call everyone that gave my son a gift card and ask them to check their receipts to see if the card was activated properly? NO! You would think the manager would be able to help out a customer that spends A LOT of money at these stores. No, he had to call the "district manager" to see what they could do. Now wasting more than a half hour of my time and my son getting distraught, I got frustrated and left the store telling the sales associate of the poor customer relations the manager had leaving the customer (me). Someone paid good money for this card and now it can't be used. Even if someone did make a mistake with the card, why make the cardholder go through all the headaches of someone's mistake? TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS GAMESTOP! Or your game will stop. No resolution to date: 1/3/15. P.s. To anyone giving gift cards put the activation receipt with the card or just give cash. What ever happened to good old cash?

During the Black Friday sale they had this year I purchased 2 BRAND NEW video games because of the great deals they had. I was so excited to receive them, they were being shipped separately. When I had received my first game I noticed the game was open and was like wth?! Only to see a bloody USED sticker on the back of my game cover. I was absolutely livid. I went to check my order online to ensure I didn't mistakenly order a Used copy and I hadn't. It took freaking forever to get in contact with them. The online chat was probably a 165 person wait AND the phone call wait was no joke 40 minutes.

Finally someone got to my phone call and they were at least somewhat helpful, ensuring me that it indeed was Gamestop's fault that I had received a USED game. So I thought okay, let me return it in stores asap because Gamestop stupid return for USED games is 7 days, only I was unable to get my money back in stores because I used paypal... Okay no big deal, I would just ship it. I shipped BOTH the games back (because gamestop you don't deserve my money) on Dec 6, 2014 and it was received Dec 08, 2014. It's Jan 03, 2015 and I STILL have not received my refund. I'm absolutely livid. Never buying online from gamestop again.

I used to NOT shop at Gamestop for years based on their terrible customer service from 16 year olds (back in the early 2000s) but have since grown up and became more patient and just expect an overly helpful staff and low inventory. Now I have a Playstation Credit Card and a PowerUp Pro Membership so it makes sense to shop at Gamestop for the points. I have been going to the same location in Richmond, VA for over 3 years now and have been satisfied overall.

The biggest complaint I have with my store is the constant low inventory. I received a Wii U for Christmas so naturally I went to purchase Mario Kart 8, which was out of stock. I then decided to purchase Super Smash Bros, which was out of stock. I then asked for Super Mario 3D World, which they had only one used copy. I purchased the used copy to later find out that it read invalid disc and returned it to a different store and purchased all 3 games new.

There have been other times I have walked out not satisfied from this location. I have the option to go to another location (which I normally do), but this location is just too convenient when they have games. Being a gamer for near 30 years, I don't think it is too much to ask that AAA titles two weeks after their release date and up to a year after be guaranteed IN STOCK. These games are best sellers and need to be in high inventory (even more-so during the holidays). After all, you only see video games and accessories. Low inventory seems as though it can be avoided for most AAA games. I feel like I should be compensated for gas for a game that reads invalid disc or having to track down a game I could buy at Target anytime over the course of the year. Even Christmas.

After I run home and come back within 20 minutes the price I was given dropped to $60, not because of any defects but because they lied to me. I sold it to them anyway because I needed the cash more then the system. I went home and looked at my sales ticket and it said they were purchasing media players for cash. I had a sony media player I didn't use and took it to them the next day on my way out shopping. The sales clerk first ignored me, then replied that the store is only for the purpose of purchasing phones and games they do not purchase media players in a very rude way like I was insane, even after I told her the sales ticket from 2 days before was promoting that they purchased media players. She looked at me like I was completely out of my mind. I felt horrible on top of wasting time, and gas. I asked to have my address corrected and the spelling of my last name and they could not do this. Why because they don't have control of their own systems. Why because Game Stop is a one-way street. I don't like being lied to. I was purchasing a new Nintendo WiiU for my son's Christmas present tonight, and probably am going to return it immediately because I don't appreciate my treatment. I had been told just last night (when I'd made my first stop at GameStop before shopping around) that I was "pre-approved" for a GameStop credit card, which would only require a couple of numbers pressed into the keypad, and then I could use immediately for the purchase of the game system and take advantage of a "6 months same as cash" special promotion. This is why I came back to GS instead of walking across the street to WalMart and plunking down my money there or, even better, going online to get a bundle from a shop for less money, free shipping and no tax. Because who in their right mind DOESN'T like the idea of a little financial flexibility around the holiday???

Well, I completed my little verification and made my purchase, only to be told that I would have to wait 7 to 10 days for my card and approval. Oh, and that I could come back and pick it up at that time. Thankfully I am not a ** of a dad, and my son's happiness is more important, but that doesn't change the fact that I am livid at having been told I was "approved" only to have to "wait for approval", to take a hit to MY CREDIT SCORE for a card I wouldn't even get to use. I was smart enough to have the cash in hand to go ahead and buy my child his present, but I expressed my discontent to the folks running the registers. Just as I am about to express my discontent with GameStop proper as soon as I finish this consumer warning. And that warning is, if you're offered a "pre-approved" line of credit from GameStop, tell them where to cram it. Better yet, just suffer the traffic and go to Best Buy or something. Just don't let them do the same thing to you that they did to me.

In between that time the card had gotten stolen from us but I having thought it had been run through and the money taken out already I did not check the order until a few days ago to make sure it had shipped. When I saw that it had not I called the store to ask about it and was told the game was not going to ship due to failure of payment. When I inquired about it they said the card had not been run until the beginning of November.

The problem is however was that I was never notified of this. No email, no call no anything. In fact I doubt if I had called them that I would have even been notified of this. Since I had a hard time understanding the employee on the phone I tried to contact them online having to wait over an hour for someone to come online and had a question I kept asking being dodge by the person attempting to help me which was a question of when they usually run credit cards for shipments. I got a lot of apologies but did not get that question answered. If they had simply contacted me when they said the card had been ran then there would have been no issue however due to this I personally no longer feel comfortable in buying from them online and will not do so in the future and do not recommend buying online from them due to the failure of a very easily fixable problem.

Even though everywhere you look it plainly states that they will never give you money without a receipt.

I had been waiting for months for that game to come out. I had spent a while debating between purchasing a ps4 and an xbox one, and when I finally decided on the play station I ordered the destiny bundle from gamestop.com with the 2 day air shipping. It came to a grand total of $494.45. I received confirmation emails and a UPS tracking number and registered my cell number with ups so I would be notified when my package arrived. The day I got the notification I was at work and no one else was home so the package, according to ups, was delivered and left in the hallway to my apartment building. An hour later when I got home from work it was nowhere to be found.

So the next day I called gamestop customer service and the CS rep, after placing me on hold various times told me they'd ship a replacement and I'd have to give it 3-5 business days. (Even though I paid for two day shipping on the original order). A week and a half pass and I'm beginning to think it's not going to show up, so I call CS again and speak to another rep. She tells me that the package was delivered that day at 4:30 pm. That day I was home all day with the rest of my family. I was never given any tracking Info for the replacement and as such had no way of knowing when I'd get it. She told me it had been delivered and I told her that I knew for certain that it hadn't been. Ups never came to the door or even into the building.

CS told me that due to the package having been lost twice it was a safer bet to just refund me in full for the $494.45 to the Paypal account I used to purchase it. I was told, yet again, to give it three to five business days to allow it to process, and yet here I am, 2 weeks post call and still no refund. Is gamestop really going to just keep my money? People as a rule do not enjoy long stories. I will be as brief as possible and factual. I swear on a stack of Bibles everything I type here is the gospel truth. I walked into the Gamestop in Pittsfield Ma on the afternoon of Saturday May 24th 2014. I had my 15 year old son with me. I entered the store and went directly to the counter. My son made a bee line for the headsets. Behind the counter there was a young ** female with shoulder length brown or brown/reddish hair as well as a young ** heavyset male with curly dark hair and glasses. I approached with a small bag of trade ins and the girl gives me a disgusted look and says "UHHH More trade-ins". I asked "Do you not accept trade ins?"

She disgustedly took my bag and started scanning them, with each scan she became audibly and visually more rude. ie: sighs, breaths, dirty looks. I was annoyed. I turned to the young man and asked him if he would like me to take them somewhere else. He was courteous, he said that she had accepted a lot of trade ins today, so on and so forth. He was embarrassed by her attitude and he was embarrassed to have to be making excuses for her. The trade offer was far to low and I said I'll pass politely. It was not the end of the world and I had cash. The trade-ins weren't worth a fortune but they were certainly worth more than the offer. The attitude increased as she was re-bagging my property.

At this time a young ** male who I had spotted earlier in the far corner of the store on a telephone looking shifty walked behind the counter, still on the telephone. I didn't even know if he was an employee. I don't remember if it was a business phone or his cell phone he'd been hacking on. I only noticed him when I would look up to check on my son. This man wasn't paying the situation behind the counter any mind. He had his own agenda. I asked the young ** male who the manager is, to which this ** male looks up at me from his phone call and says "I am", with a ** attitude. He had no tag on, he was dressed like he was going to the club and his baseball cap was on crooked.

That's fine by me for a night out. That is EXACTLY how I dress. It is NOT how I dress at work. I looked in his eyes when he answered me and they were barely open and blood shot red. I wasn't going to waste my time talking to a manager of this caliber. I motioned for my son to come on. We left. During the walk to the car, I told my son about the experience at the counter in detail. This is when he told me that the ** "manager" prior to coming to the front of the store was about a foot from my son arranging a pot deal on the phone-loudly. Loudly enough to where my son could here such verbiage as "blazed up", various cusses and the coordination of a pot deal.

To whomever runs this store I ask: Is this the best you can do? I left there without spending a dime. I went to Walmart on Hubbard ave and spent nearly $500 on my 500gb ps3 bundle, an Xbox 360 headset and a game called Wolfenstein. I have the receipt with the time stamp. I will find someone in corporate who will address this. I was treated like hell, my kid was exposed to nonsense and I am pissed. Fire the girl, fire the manager and retrain the poor young man who was intimidated by them and helpless to do the right thing. Many minor children go to Gamestop. I wouldn't recommend this one. I swear these statements to be 100% accurate and true. Doubt me? Review your security tape. If it was indeed a company phone, check your phone records and lastly, drug test your poor excuse of a "manager"

If you do buy a used PS3 check it before leaving the store like the vents on it. Is it full of dust because some people don't realize if they're clogged it will overheat and either burn out or just won't work right. GameStop don't do this so be careful. When I called back during the next day hours, an English speaking rep gave me a code for a $10 off to use online. On Dec 13 I called Gamestop and they had two PS4 systems, a very hard to find game system this year. I bought one of them for my 19 year old son. I also purchased a Playstation plus card for $50 which is listed on the receipt. I read their refund policy, it said within 30 days it could be returned if the plastic bags weren't opened. It said if it was "unopened" which I took to mean the game system. I had to open the little tape on the outside of the box, an inch wide clear tape.. to get my sons PS3 plus card out before I took it back for a refund. My 19 year old didn't want the system, he wanted the cash to help with college/books. He has a PS3 system and didn't want to replace all of his games with PS4 games at this time.

When they saw it they said "is this original tape?" They assumed I had retyped it which I had NOT done, this is how I purchased it! Everything was sealed in the box, unopened and they refused to give me a refund back to my credit card! I couldn't believe it. It had been sitting in a closet for 13 days, this was December 26 when I took it back or tried to. They practically accused me of opening it and resealing it. I never did that! I am angry to be accused of something I didn't do first of all, and being 61, I have purchased thousands of dollars of games and systems for my 3 children over the years, they are 15-24 now. I can't believe they won't give a refund for something that is intact, in sealed bags.. obviously has not been removed from the box. But because a tiny piece of tape was broken to get my son's card out, I can't get my money back!

These are kids younger than my children working there and they obviously have been trained to do this by the company. Online negative reviews are rampant about this place, I knew that because I had heard they had lousy customer service but.. I had a receipt !!! I didn't worry about it because it was the day after Christmas and everything was sealed and unopened! I will never buy anything from there again, I'll go to COSTCO SAMS Walmart or Target from now on. My son currently has it listed on Ebay and has bids on it so he will make his money back, but the point it, he shouldn't have had to do that!!! Customer service is key to keeping people coming back to your store. Maybe young kids don't know any better but there are thousands of adults who won't shop there anymore and eventually maybe they will loosen their return policy to make it FAIR!!!

The next day, same thing, on hold for 42 minutes before someone answered. They were completely unapologetic. They emailed me a return label. I mailed the incorrect PS3 back to them, and heard nothing either in emails or phone calls. I called back, waited on hold for another 50 minutes. When the customer service agent answered, she didn't listen to what I was trying to explain to her, and put me back on hold, then came back and told me that they would file a claim for an investigation. I asked for what. She said my missing item. I tried to explain again what had happened, and she replies, "Well that's why you haven't received it yet!" I asked to speak to her supervisor. She put me back on hold again. I have been waiting another twenty minutes. This is ridiculous. I will never do business with this company again. I waited 25 minutes the first time and had to get off to go to an appointment. I waited 35 minutes the second time only to be told that not only can I not order a gift card online but the customer service rep could not do if for me. If a company does not want to offer physical gift cards, they should not advertise that they have them on their website.

After waiting almost an hour in total to talk to someone, the least they could have done was place the gift card order for me. As far as I am concerned, anyone who deals with Gamestop given their absolutely horrendous customer service should have their head examined. The only thing that makes me sad about this is that my nephew really wanted a "gift card" not a digital card from Gamestop for Christmas. He will not be getting that because Gamestop refused to provide one. Instead, he will be getting a gift card from another company. I for one will never buy from Gamestop again.

I purchased the Black Friday Edition of the PS3. I brought it home and it did not work. The PS3 would continually freeze and shut itself off. It was so bad that it would even freeze in the PS3 safe mode. I called the store on Thursday, December 5, 2013 to tell them about my issue. The woman on the phone told me that they didn't have any more Black Friday PS3s in stock, but she would check the stock in the other stores in town. I was looking online and I had only seen stock in stores about 70-80 miles away. I was told that they didn't have any in town, but that she would call another store to have one shipped into the store for the exchange. I was willing to drive to the closest store, but I felt assured that it wouldn't take too long for the PS3 to get to the store.

I waited on hold for approximately 15 minutes before another associate picked up the phone and realized that I wasn't the person who he was talking to. Approximately 2 minutes after that, the phone hung up. I called the store back and got back on the phone with the original associate I was talking to. She told me that she was having it shipped in, took down my name and phone number and told me that someone would call me when the PS3 was in.

I then called on Friday, December 6, because I forgot to ask how long it would take. I was told by a male associate that it could take up to or more than a week, but they'd call me when it came in. So then I called on Saturday, December 7 to find out when shipments came in. When I gave my name and the problem, the male associate recognized it and knew that they were waiting on the PS3 for me. He then told me that they hadn't gotten anything in yet, but to check back on Monday or Tuesday.

I called on Monday, December 9 around 1:30 pm to find out if it had come in yet. The male associate told me that they hadn't gone through everything yet, but they'd call me if it was in. I then called at 4:30 pm to inquire and was told that they still hadn't gone through it and they'd call me if it was in. I then called today, Tuesday, December 10 at around 7:00 pm to find out if the PS3 had come in yet. I was told by the male associate that there was no record that there was a PS3 coming in for me and that I should just call Sony because there was only one Black Friday PS3 located in Westlake, which is very far away from here. I was quite upset because I felt like I was being led on all week long and that everything had told me that they would call me. But now that there wasn't a single Black Friday PS3 available anywhere nearby, that nothing was being reserved for me.

I am incredibly upset, frustrated and angry at this whole situation. I don't know if the PS3 had ever been ordered shipped in from the other store or if it came in and was accidentally sold after it was inventoried. I have not been able to get any sort of straight answer. I purchased the bundle from Gamestop because I've been a customer for years and felt that purchasing from a storefront like Gamestop would be better than purchasing the same bundle that was available on both Amazon and Best Buy from an online retailer or a big box store because I had a belief that a specialty store like Gamestop would be more understanding and have better customer service from their associates. I feel that I'm completely mistaken now because of this whole situation. I have never had any issue like this from Best Buy or Amazon.

Now I feel completely cheated. I can't believe I purchased a brand new console system and strung along for a week to just be told, well go to the manufacturer, even though we have this 30 day store policy that we won't honor for you because someone messed up somewhere. But I'm not going to take responsibility for anything. I have previously worked in customer service as a hotel clerk for Marriott, and I normally don't complain about receiving poor customer service.

I understand that dealing with customers every day can get wearing and sometimes frustrations make seep out from a normally wonderful associate. But this is something that I think goes well beyond poor customer service. I feel like I've been fooled with and that I am just another number to your stores rather than a valued customer. I feel like my concerns don't matter to the associate as long as the blame can be passed onto someone else. I feel completely and utterly disappointed in Gamestop right now.

The sad part for me is that I went into that same Gamestop store on Sunday to purchase Lego Pirates of the Caribbean for Xbox 360 for my wife. I felt safe doing that because I thought I was being taken care of by the store and its associates. Now I am completely sorry that I even spent that little amount of money at Gamestop. I don't want to ever spend another dollar at a place takes my money for a product that doesn't work and then treats me like it's my problem that I need to deal with and who cares if what I paid for was a working system. It makes me feel like crap and I'm done with Gamestop.

Then came an email Sunday of the weekend that the pre-orders shipped, telling me that the order was cancelled for some processing reason. Tried calling but was on hold for 32 minutes before I had to hang up. Then I emailed them and after two days I got a response telling me that the bank had refused the charge. I contacted my bank and they had no record of an attempt to charge anything.

It seems to me that somebody wanted a system, so they cancelled mine and took it. I waited five months for nothing. I also found out that once you create an account on the Gamestop web site, you can never delete it. NEVER. Seems irresponsible to me. I will never shop at the store again, in person or on-line. How hard would it be to give you a chance to fix the problem? That is just common courtesy, something Gamestop does not have. One big rip off company. Sales guy calls customer service and I wait for 30 minutes. Was told it was taken care of. Hour later store calls me back and tells me I will have to go thru customer service again.

I go back to store, they call CS. On hold 30 more minutes. They scan my old receipt, tell me they are re-placing the order again and they guarantee me this will work. Today, I get email that my Epic Bundle has shipped but now the contents is listed, for the first time, as PS4 system only, and 8 games. No camera, no dual shock controller, no DS charger, and no headset! Spent another hour tonight on hold. Told customer service of my hassle, and they first told me I could only return the items when I got them and get a gift card for over $1000. After many choice words and informing them that I was an attorney, and threatening to be on the evening news tomorrow, they promised to email me a return label, allow me to send the "wrong items" back, and that they will send me the items I was supposed to get in the first place. Well I pre-ordered the PS4 in August. I never thought twice to keep all of my receipts as I always kept the last one which stated how much I had deposited on my account. A few weeks ago my girlfriend went in to make a deposit on her and my PS4. When she asked the salesperson to print up the two receipts for some strange reason they couldn't find mine. Now my PS4 receipt states that I had 310 dollars and my gf's said hers had 360. I contacted Gamestop corporate, which did absolutely nothing. She called the local Gamestop and they verified that both PS4 systems were reserved and that they both had about an equal amount on them. Cool so I call them immediately back and they tell me no, that was not the case (while the salesperson thought he was out of range of the phone I could hear him snicker and laugh on the other side)... Wow in the matter of seconds your answer changed, seriously?

So I went up to the Gamestop, where the manager to my face tells me that he doesn't believe me (because of 180 dollar jump on one system and the lack of all the other receipts). So instead of losing my temper and spending several days in jail I decide to call corporate yet again from the store. While on the phone with corporate he kept giving her wrong phone numbers as they searched for the recording to my last call to them where they said that both systems had about 360 dollars on them. Suspicious, I think so. She informs the manager of said Gamestop to call his district manager. When he gets on the line to speak to the district manager, he goes to the back room so as to not be overheard. Several times I pointed at the receipt and several times he told me that he didn't believe me.

I have dealt with him in the past. One time he tried to sucker me by saying that I couldn't get a full trade in value for my system because it was making noises. Mind you I had just tested it at home and it was barely if ever used, so I went around to the little screen where they test the systems and pulled it out and turned it off, noise continued, but the system was off. The shock on his face as he asked me why I would turn it off, said enough and should have taught me a lesson. Anyway several days later a district manager contacted me and said that he was investigating the problem. It is now 3 weeks later, and still nothing.

On January 15, the screen accidentally broke so I took it to GameStop to get a new one which was supposed to be covered by the insurance I purchased. They refused to replace it and after numerous calls to GameStop Customer Service, I managed to talk with Steven **, the district manager for this store. He also refused to replace it. He stated that their product replacement plan only covers manufacturer defects.

I asked him why would anyone buy your replacement plan if it only covers manufacturer defects considering the product already comes with a 1-year manufacturer defect warranty for free? He told me that if people are stupid enough to buy it without reviewing the terms of the replacement plan, that it’s not his problem. The store does not give you any information on the plan when you buy the insurance so we are to trust the cashier's information only. I did obtain a copy of the replacement plan policy after asking for it numerous times when I tried to get my replacement tablet and nowhere in it does it state it does not cover a cracked screen. Steven said he would refund my payment for their warranty but not replace the tablet.

I told him that if I weren't given the false information on the replacement plan, I could have gone to numerous other stores, including Staples and Walmart, that are located in the same area as GameStop. Both stores offer a replacement plan for near the same price that cover a broken screen. This store is selling fraudulent replacement plans and I doubt I am the first or last person that this will happen to if something is not done. Nobody, including the district manager, would provide me with any information to contact anyone else in the company to file a complaint. This store is scamming customers and needs to be stopped.

Unfortunately, he was so distracted by the girl in the store who was just hanging at the counter that he didn't pay attention to his customers. The store video shows the whole incident. He was so enthralled with the young woman that he was talking to her during each customer he served. I was in line while he served the 3 customers. I walked away to look at another game, came back when he was done and let another customer go ahead of me.

I came back again. He put all my games up and still talking to this young woman he said is a customer. She never had a bag and seems to have no care about the customers who come up to the counter. Customers shouldn't have to deal with that kind of treatment and loud talking and yelling from a friend of an employee. Once he put my games back, I was pissed enough to say, "Hey man, you're too distracted by this young woman to pay attention." I hope that one of his district managers looks up the video for November 16th and can see his poor performance in the store. I just put this first part up to show the lady's face. Well it gets better. He lied when I asked for his name and store number, then he said he had no name. All Americans have a name and the young lady was yelling at me when I asked what is she doing here.

What's the store number and who is his boss? Horrible I tell you. He threatened to call the police on me for yelling back at his girlfriend and saying **, that she can't talk like that in front of my daughter. If I had her mom or any white people at all have been in there, the whole event would have been way different. I had to call another Gamestop and ask for the information for the store I had this problem with because the store employee I encountered was horrifically rude and disrespectful. My daughter is apologizing to me like this was her fault. She was stressing, getting upset and crying because of your employee's behavior. I am extremely upset about that, not to mention all of the time we wasted in the store to buy games she and I had spent time looking for, which this employee put back and then said he didn't remember where he put them, so I was also unable to purchase my games which were the reason for our visit to the store in the first place. I reminded him to view my account, 16 purchases in the past 3 months alone and he said it did not matter, they must be protected.

I directly asked him to explain to me why Game Stop would be willing to lose a long term customer who has spent thousands and just this year alone, over $29.99. He said, "Well ma'am that is certainly your choice."

The final resolution was that I wait 10 business days for UPS investigation. Upon it going in my favor, I could receive a refund in 5-7 business days if their claims representative approves it. If UPS erroneously finds that it was delivered in hand, I have no recourse. If the claims representative does not approve the refund, I have no recourse.

My final resolution is to never, ever spend another dollar of my hard earned money at Game Stop and to find alternatives. I would rather spend more money to avoid the drama (total customer service call time 2 hours) of dealing with a business that sees the value of my business as worthless than $29.99.

I bought the EA Sports NFL Training Camp game (used) from their website. Included in the package is the game itself, 1 arm sensor, 1 leg sensor and 2 weight bands. I looked at the description up and down. Nowhere did it say that accessories would not be included. The only thing it did say was that it might not come with the box. The only thing that arrived in the mail was the game itself. I called the help line and they conveniently didn't have anymore in stock. The guy I talked to (Adam) put me on hold to see what he could do for me. When he came back on the line, he told me that the accessories didn't come with used games. I know that most used games on Gamestop.com state on the product description that it only includes the game and nothing else. This however did not say that. So, the only thing that he could do for me was return the game and that I would have to eat the shipping. I'm getting screwed for the false advertising on their website that led me to believe I was getting a full product for what I paid for.

I had called in advance for the Xbox 360 250 GB Slim. They had told me that there were six in stock, so we (family) packed up and drove the 36 miles to make this happen. Kids were pumped, they wanted to take their fairly new 60 GB 360 and 60 GB PS3 and seven games for trade. We arrived, turned our stuff over, they do what they do to make sure everything works. Anyways to the point, their gonna credit us $190.00 for everything and they told us, “We don’t have the 250 GB Slim,” and all they had was the 4 GB. I’m **.

We had got our credit already and the kids are upset because their only option is the 4 GB Slim Xbox 360 that you can’t even get online with. We’re burnt and stuck with both. I don’t understand why these are so hard to come by around here, and why these distributors don’t care to check and see if they have the item or not. A big let down and to make it a 250 GB Xbox, I have to fork out another $150.00. That sucks and kids are ticked.

On 10/5/10, I purchased an NBA 2k11 from Gamestop at 3176 Richmond Rd, Lexington, KY. I also wanted to trade in NBA 2k10 towards the purchase. I gave them an Edge's gamercard. I was asked for ID and a thumbprint on their copy of the receipt. They said it was Fayette County law, and has been in effect for over a year. I didn't give a thumbprint so I didn't get the trade-in value.

What gets me is that 3 months ago I was in the same Gamestop with my girlfriend and her son. He traded in his PS2 games because we just purchased a PS3 for him. Over $80 value of used games, no request for a thumbprint. What's the deal with that? Also, if I give them an Edge's gamercard, why are they asking me for ID?

I had ordered the new 250GB Hard Drive for the Xbox 360 on the website with the coupon code, 25OFF. The code was 25% off any order over $100 w/ free shipping. The code was accepted & I received a confirmation e-mail about my order and when it would be delivered.

I just received an e-mail that the order was canceled. I thought it may have been a server error so I tried to re-order it from the website, but the coupon code was no longer valid. I called Customer Service and they said it was a mistake to allow the coupon code to work and that they would not honor their own code. This falls under that a common type of fraud known as false advertising. I asked to speak to the supervisor and he was no more help than a guy selling sand in a desert.

I just finished submitting a complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in hopes of some form of resolution (honoring their code would be nice). If not, I will make it my mission to twitter/facebook/myspace this event to everyone I know about how GameStop does business (shady like).

This is the first time that I have ever had a problem like this. I would bet that Amazon or Buy would be the first to apologize, take the hit by honoring it, and move on with life, making me (the customer) happy and continuing to order from both of them, and recommending them to friends & family.

This is the last time I will ever deal with Gamestop at all (online or in stores). The fact that you can always get it cheaper online and you don't have to pay tax makes it superior. That and as you can see, Amazon doesn't honor their own codes! I did not get the product at the promised price at the end of the sale..

I went to the store to buy a headset blue tooth for a xmas gift for my brother. I honestly don't know anything about the product that is why I asked questioned. There was 3 male cashier / employees at the time. When I asked instead of helping me nicely they were throwing weird look at each other then they started to laughed which is very insulting specially I was in the front. They couldn't even do it after I left instead they did that in my face. I felt it as sexual harassment and them being a feminist. I don't appreciate the very uncomfortable situation they brought me in. I don't think this is the right way to treat other people. I even asked the guy named James why is he laughing at me and he denied it then look eye to eye with the other guy. I told them I 'am not someone who is familiar with this item 'm picking and they should never treat me or humiliate me like this. It was very insulting and they made me feel like an idiot and very violated.

I purchased a Guitar Hero World Tour band set for my son in December '08. The games stopped working 7 days after Christmas. I called and was told that I had to return it to Activision to get it fixed. I made arrangements with Activision to return the game in January '09 and was told they needed the receipt, which I could not find (I purchased it at GameStop online). I have sent them several e-mails and letters to get a copy, and was told I could find it online. It is not online. I e-mailed them again and never heard from them. This is getting old and my son has not been able to use the item. I have the return label to GameStop but they will not let me return it. It shows my name and address and amount paid. This is not acceptable to Activision. Please help. I am really losing my patience with this whole thing!
