    I've so far ordered 3 pairs of glasses from Zenni Optical. Costs are very reasonable and they come shipped safely and within a reasonable time. Selection is good overall although I'd prefer to try on different pairs in real life first both for how a pair looks and to check the quality of the frame. Some of the least expensive plastic frames can be thinner plastic than I'd prefer yet at the price it's not a problem to replace it.

    Great selection of frames and virtual fitting. Glasses are a fraction of the cost of retail and the Rx was correct with both pairs I bought, including the multi focal placement. I recommend Zenni every time I get a compliment on my glasses, which is often.

    Zenni is easy to use and always on time. It’s cheap and manageable. I just go get my prescription and order my glasses. I’ve been using Zenni for almost six years. Every pair that I’ve gotten has worked out perfectly and has not broken on any part aside from me sitting on them or stepping on them but that’s my fault. The cheaper plastic ones have a tendency to bubble from the ear part. I’m assuming it’s from the oils on your skin that breaks it down. Then with the paint, I can scrape it off of my finger if it gets bad enough or old enough. I usually go with plastic frames. But this time, I tried something different and got metal frames. The experience was awesome and my mom already bought a pair from them.

    I've purchased at least 3 pairs of glasses from Zenni and only 1 pair was lacking in quality (the color coating chipped off). The frame choices are stylish and ample, and I really like that you can upload a photo to 'try them on' before purchase. They do a good job with prescription accuracy and the add-on options (i.e. oleophobic coating, transitional). Won't break the bank. We pay enough for eye exams so it's great to find multiple affordable options at Zenni.

    I bought 2 pairs of plastic framed glasses with 2 clip on sunglasses. Both pairs of glasses were adorable, inexpensive, easy to order, and great fit. The sunglasses were cute and fit well, but I broke both of them pretty quickly. I just need to order 2 more to have 1 back up pair for emergencies.

    I purchased a pair of glasses and they were not exactly the frames that was shown online. Also I sent in the prescription that was needed and it was not the strength that I needed. Overall the glasses and choices were pretty good. But I had an issue with returning and getting the correct ones. But I would say I would shop with them again, I would be more careful with my choices and look at the reviews.

    I ordered for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I ordered frames, progressive lenses, and a few accessories. They arrived in a little over a week, which I thought was really good. Then, I try on the glasses. They were too hard to see out of. At first, I thought it was just a matter of needing time to get used to the glasses. But I was getting headaches (I almost never have them) and I really couldn’t not see out of the glasses. To read, I had to take the glasses off and to see distance, I could only look out a narrow space at the top of the glasses. There was no way they could measure the progressions as would normally be done if I bought the glasses locally, so I assumed they had some way to do it.

    I set up a return and returned them with no problem. Initially, I had asked for store credit but instead wanted a refund. I couldn’t trust them to get the progressions right. The refund policy says that if the customer makes an error in ordering or just doesn’t like the glasses, they can either get 100% store credit or a 50% refund. Well, this wasn’t a case of not liking the glasses, and I did not err in the ordering of them. Their manufacturing process was the error. But, they are keeping 50% of the charges any way.

    So now, I’m out roughly $48 AND have to buy glasses locally which I was trying to avoid. I don’t know how they do on single prescription lenses, but clearly, they are abysmal at making progressive lenses. I hope they enjoy my $48. Given that I am out two incomes due to COVD-19, I could have used the full refund, but alas, I guess they need the money more than I. I know many people who have been happy with Zenni - I am not one of them, and I will never use them again, even though they have some accessories I would like.

We were sorry to learn that the glasses were too small to fit you well, that you had difficulty using all but the distance portion at the top of the lens, which you felt was too small, and that you got headaches while wearing the glasses. Consequently, we apologize for any dismay you experienced as a result. Since you mention that you believe that we may have made the glasses incorrectly, we want to advise that when a customer complains that they cannot see well with a pair of glasses and confirms that they entered the prescription and pupillary distance (PD) correctly, we will invite the customer to return the glasses for an inspection. If our inspection finds any manufacturing errors, we can remake the glasses for the customer for free. However, when we listened to the recording of the telephone call you had with our customer service representative, and read the transcript of the later chat session you had with another representative, we were sorry to hear and read that neither of these representatives asked you to confirm the prescription and PD, and if you had confirmed that you entered these values correctly, invited you to return the glasses for an inspection. If we received and inspected the glasses, and if our inspection had found any manufacturing errors, we would have offered to remake the glasses for you for free, and we could have discussed the size of the rimless frame 466521 and lens shape you selected (lens shape 226), and recommended that the remake be done in an alternative rimless frame and lens shape that would fit you better and perhaps provide more vision coverage throughout the lenses. We also could have discussed how our free form progressive lenses work, with a fairly narrow, 12-14-millimeter-wide, progressive reading corridor, with no correction on either side, and which starts at 5 mm up from the center line of the lenses. We could have offered to do the remake in a different prescription type – perhaps one pair each of single vision distance-, intermediate-, and near-vision glasses, or a pair of bifocals. Insofar as well did not discuss any of these options with you, we regret that the customer service we provided in this instance was not the accurate, effective, thorough, gracious customer service that customers expect and deserve. it is the responsibility of all Zenni representatives to provide this level of customer service, and we also apologize that we did not uphold this standard in this instance. Therefore, we are going to make a customer service exception when we receive the returned glasses to issue to your credit card the full refund, $102.70, which you had initially requested when you contacted us. You should receive an email from our lab when we receive the returned glasses and refund the full amount you spent on them, $102.70, confirming this credit card refund with a transaction number. We hope that this will resolve this matter to your satisfaction, and we also hope that you will try ordering your eyeglasses from Zenni again.

    Zenni is awesome. I used them when they had a big coupon code, like a New Year’s sale. And I’ve been using them ever since. My wife and I both have been using Zenni for a few years. We both have regular glasses and then we both have prescription sunglasses. Ordering them was really easy. You create an account and your prescriptions are saved. Before Zenni I’ve pretty much only buy Ray-Bans. But Zenni's house brands are really high quality and I haven't gone back to acquiring Ray-Bans. The lenses are great and with my work, I really abuse my glasses and their house brand really stands up to all of this.

    I’ve gone through a few different styles but I really like the glasses that I now use and have gotten this model three times. One pair got ruined so I had to use some ancient backups that the prescription wasn’t as good and the frames were all beat up. Now, I have an official backup pair identical to the ones that I’m wearing right now. So if these get destroyed or my kids step on them or something like that, I’ll have a backup that’s actually good. I got these for $33. Back when I had to go to the mall, I would spend over 250 bucks on a pair of glasses ‘cause my left lens had a really strong special lens. But the Zenni ones are affordable.

    My sister told me about Zenni Optical. This is my second time ordering with them. Both times I’ve ordered my glasses from them, they always get them to me quicker. They tell you it’s gonna take 7 to 21 days, especially with this virus going around and stuff, and both times, they got them to me way before the 14th day. I got their bifocals, and then I got regular sunglasses. The glasses are great quality. My last glasses I had from them, I had them for a little over a year, and I could still wear them if I needed to. The quality is great for the cost point. I will use Zenni from now on.

    First off I understand things are slower due to COVID. But I ordered my glasses 6/09/2020 and they were manufactured on 6/16. That means they were shipped to the shipping destination. To then be shipped to me. But nobody in customer service can find a tracking # and Zenni keeps stating just wait longer. So the priority shipping I paid $8.40 for doesn't apply to them shipping my glasses to the California destination, and it's very unsettling that they can't tell me anything about where their own shipment is!!!! That's the kicker. So needless to say I'm not getting my glasses within the 14 day window I paid for and we're missing a huge Cargo ship from China....**. Hopefully, I will be able to get them one day but not holding my breath.

    A friend of mine had ordered from Zenni and I wanted to give it a try. Finding frames is pretty easy. Once we got the hang of how to take a picture, it worked really well. It was pretty helpful in picking out the frames. We ordered 2 pairs that were kind of on the cheaper side to see how it works before we ordered another pair that's gonna be his glasses for this year. We had to take his pupil measurement because he didn't do that at the eye doctor. I got a little frustrated when I was trying to add in the information about his eye doctor and his prescription. The website acted like it wanted me to put it in again. It was probably my error, but it was a little bit not super intuitive. I figured it out but it was a little bit more confusing than it needed to be. Older customers would give up at some point.

    The shipment was a little slow but there was a holiday in there. All in all, it was a pretty good process. It is a little bit better than at an optical store. The pricing is great, and the options are fun. I kind of enjoyed the experience even though the glasses were for my husband. We could try them all on and it's better than going to an optical store where you feel like you have a 20-minute window to pick something from a shelf. We could also get opinions and laugh at funny glasses. It was kind of a different experience that I appreciated. I was a little nervous at first because I've never purchased glasses like that. It doesn't make any sense why you can't though. I would definitely recommend Zenni.

    Updated on 07/19/2021: Just want to update my original review. Had problems with my glasses but were eventually fully refunded. It was stressful to sort out out but at least I got my money back and I’m not out of pocket anymore. That’s appreciated and gives me confidence.

    Original Review: What absolute rubbish Zenni are. The glasses came to about $130 with a "sturdy" looking frame and some bells and whistles. When they eventually arrived I couldn't see at all with them, gave me a terrible headache and couldn't get used to them at all. Prescription was entered correctly. Return policy is awful but they said they will refund me if they find it was their fault.

    Due to the terribly long process to return them I ordered another pair with same prescription elsewhere and they were perfect. But Zenni, a month later said theirs were correctly made, which can't be true otherwise because I couldn't see at all through them. The process is not transparent and they say whatever they like of course. I have no option but take their word. They offered me only 50% refund (and no shipping refund) or store credit which I won't use because I can't trust them. The sturdy frame also turned out to be flimsy. What a rip off. And yes, came from China. Not only I didn't save any money, I'm terribly out of pocket with Zenni. These are nothing but scammers. This practice is illegal in my country.

Insofar as the glasses were inspected as correct, we are also sorry that the inspection results did not comport with your experience wearing the glasses. Since you were pleased with the glasses you ordered from us in November 2017, with a similar prescription, we can only point to the difference in dimensions between the two frames on the two orders as a possible reason that the glasses you ordered in April 2020 are not working for you the way the ones you ordered in November 2017 did. The frame on the November 2017 order, model 234321, has a 137-millimeter frame width, a 51-mm lens width, and a 30-mm lens height. The frame on the April 2020 order, 2014615, has a 136-mm frame width (an insignificant difference), a 54-mm lens width, and a 34-mm lens height. The difference in the lens widths between the two frames account for some of the additional thickness of the lenses in frame 2014615. As we advised previously, the wider the lens, the thicker the middle of a lens with a plus prescription will be, and the thicker the outer edge of the lens with a minus prescription will be. In addition, the lens height difference between the two frames – 30 mm on 234321, 34 mm on 2014615 – may account for the difference in your ability to use the progressive reading corridor successfully, since you mentioned in your Reseller Ratings review that you had to raise your head to use the distance portion of the lens, and that the reading portion at the bottom is very small. We again apologize for the dismay you experienced regarding this order, and since we expect that you would not want the glasses returned, we want to reiterate that we can issue a 100 percent refund in the form of store credit to your Zenni account of what you spent on the glasses using your credit card, minus the $9.95 shipping fee, or a 50 percent refund to the credit card, as well as a 50 percent credit card refund of the amount of store credit you used toward the payment of the order. We are eager to hear back from you, so that we may provide the refund option you advise you prefer.

    I ordered a pair of glasses from Zenni, like everybody else, I wanted to save a few bucks. I received a pair of glasses about 10 days later, to my disappointment I wasn't able to read with them. Thinking they made a mistake I spoke with customer service, verified my prescription and reordered a new pair. Waited another 10 days and received a new pair with the same defect. Save yourself the headache. You get what you pay for!!!

However, we do not see any indication that the prescription or PD was provided to us.     I normally wear bifocals but I wanted a pair of glasses just for distance with a wide round lens for watching television and for taking to the theater. This pair works perfectly. I am happy with them. I used the online virtual program to see what they would look like on my face and it gave me a fairly accurate representation.     I have ordered 4 pairs of glasses from Zenni, I have always been very happy with the quality, efficiency and price when it comes to Zenni, however when I received a pair I wasn’t happy with and tried to contact customer service to exchange the pair, it was next to impossible. I used their online chat option and it would not connect me to a sales representative after several attempts. I kept trying for weeks. When I finally was able to get a hold of a representative, the 30 day return window had expired (I was looking for an exchange, not a refund). The representative said she would see what she could do but after a few minutes left the chat.

    I was then connected with 5 different representatives and had to explain my situation over and over each time, only to be disconnected after each attempt. I eventually found an email addressed and sent an email regarding my experience with their customer service and was met with a passive, dry response that ignored my concerns and was basically a “we are not interested in your satisfaction”. This experience has frustrated me and turned me off from ordering from Zenni again, there are many websites offering a similar sales model that perhaps value their customers a little more. I used to recommend Zenni to everyone but I can’t say I will be doing that anymore.

We were sorry to learn that you dislike the way the frame 4438333 looks on you, and we apologize for any dismay you experienced as a result of this matter, and we also apologize for the unsuccessful interaction you had with our customer service representatives. We see that this frame, 4438318, has a 133-millimeter frame width, which is considerably narrower than the frame widths of the frames you ordered in 2019: 419014 (140 mm), 195421 (144 mm), and 4427125 (140 mm). We see no notes in the database records of those orders indicating that you had any issue with the glasses on those orders. We want to confirm that we do not have sales representatives and we do not offer a frame replacement service, except when a customer contacts us within the 30-day warranty period, which starts the day the glasses are delivered, to advise that there is a problem with the frame they received, which could be resolved by sending the customer a free replacement frame. We will be happy to send a free replacement frame to the customer in this instance, so the customer can swap the lenses from the broken or damaged frame into the new one. If a customer reports that a frame has broken or become damaged beyond the 30-day warranty period, we advise the customer that they can order a replacement frame for half the price that is shown with the frame on our website. According to our records, the first contact we had with you about the frame on your most recent order, which was placed on April 13, 2020, and delivered to you on May 3, 2020, according to the websites of the mail carriers, Landmark Global and Canada Post, was on June 14, 2020, well beyond the 30-day warranty period.     I like Zenni's affordability. We got several pairs from them. They're all full. I've always been pretty happy with the quality. The website is easy to use and the trying on feature helped. I'd recommend Zenni. I've recommended it to several friends.

    A friend referred me to Zenni Optical and I went with them because of the cost. Their ordering process was easy and so far, I have bought about 12 pairs from them. They are good quality, comfortable to wear, and I like them all. But I gave a couple of them away to the eyeglass recycle thing.     I use progressive lenses and LOVE them. Because I had been having some eye issues, I have had my old glasses for 3 years. However, I can still see out of them very well. Finally got a new prescription from my ophthalmologist a couple months ago. Was trying to decide between Zenni and Zeelool but went with the former because there were more positive reviews about progressives with Zenni. The doctor actually advised against ordering from online companies because she said they normally can't get progressives right. I decided to give it a try anyway. Chose some popular frames, upgraded from the basic lens, put in all of the info and hit submit after quadruple checking. Total came to $98 which was far less than I've paid at retail stores in the past.

    Waited with anticipation and they finally arrived today. The frame quality is phenomenal, but that's not what's most important. The lenses are. Oh my, what a disappointment. This would have been my second pair of progressives. They were soooo off! I could see, but not that well. But after three years, a new prescription should have me seeing ants off the floor across the room. I tried them on later in the day, just to make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks. It wasn't. I love the look but I don't need fashion glasses. I need to be able to see and I cannot. So so so disappointed. I'll be sending them back.

We were pleased to learn that you are happy with the frame you selected, but of course we were sorry to read that you cannot see well with the glasses. Consequently, we apologize for any disappointment you experienced as a result. We see that when you contacted us about this, we replied with a request that you try the four-point-touch test and email us a copy of the prescription and confirmation of how the pupillary distance (PD) was obtained, if it is not on the prescription – self-measurement, friend or family member measurement, or eye doctor measurement. We also want to mention that we use a style of progressives called free form, which has a reading corridor 12-14 millimeters wide, and there is no vision correction on either side of this progressive reading corridor. We advise that free form progressive glasses wearers point their nose at what they are viewing on the computer in the intermediate vision section or reading in the near vision section, rather than moving their eyes from side to side. The upper portion of the lens should have wide distance vision, with the top of the progressive reading corridor placed at 5 mm up from the center line of the lenses. Your frame, 2027422, has a 31-mm lens height, so the center line would be at 15.5 mm up from the bottom, with the top of the reading corridor 5 mm above that, starting at approximately 20.5 mm up from the bottom. The lens width is 52 mm, so there would be large sections of the lenses on either side of the reading corridor that would have no vision correction. We are eager to receive the copy of the prescription, and the confirmation of how you obtained the PD, so that we can view the prescription and compare its values with those you entered on the website, since we see no previous orders you have placed with us. Once we see that you entered the prescription and PD correctly, we can email you instructions to return the glasses to us for an inspection. If our inspection finds that we made the glasses incorrectly, we can remake the glasses for you for free. If our inspection finds that we made the glasses correctly, or if it turns out that, unfortunately, anything was entered incorrectly on the order, we can issue one of our two refund options – either a 100 refund of the price of the glasses in the form of store credit to your Zenni account or a 50 percent refund to the credit card you used to pay for the glasses.     Zenni's pricing is really good. They have a lot of options and it's easier to look at all the options online and use the virtual try on instead of going to a doctor's office trying all the glasses on. There was one time when I made a mistake on my prescription when I was typing it in.     Ordering from Zenni Optical is pretty easy and the website works well. It gave me an idea of what I would look like on their frames and the process is self-explanatory. I'm pleased with them and their products are cheaper than the optometrist's pricing. The last one I ordered from them was a pair of glasses for my wife. She browsed through the frames for women and we found the one we thought would fit her well. It took two weeks to get the glasses once we ordered them and they were backup glasses to the pair she paid $600 for at the optometrist, which I wasn't happy with.

    I got the wrong size and thru email got the RA #. Now I am trying to mail back glasses. These are not the right size and get them exchanged and I keep getting people who want my order number. I have the pkg it came in and I'm just trying to return. When you send emails you get the person Krestal asking you for order #

    then you're going to get an email every day from this person asking the same thing when you clearly sent an email per their instructions asking for RA #. You didn't say I had to tell you my order # or address. Why are you asking this now so that I waste time with your robots and my 30 days are gone! **.     I placed the order, paid the money, got a link to the shipment number, which when clicked takes me to some Chinese page with zero information. I waited for two months, did not receive any shipment. I asked for a refund or to complete the order, they offered me to wait a little longer for the shipment, after one week I asked for refund again, then they said me that they would ask the shipping company for information about the shipment, after one week waiting I asked them again, to what they wrote me that the investigation usually takes one month. ONE MONTH :D !!!! So, after almost three months, neither money nor glasses. ZENNI OPTICAL IS TOTAL SCAM!

    I needed not only a solution that was affordable for me at the time, but I also needed prescription lenses with blue light protection. At the time, there weren't many vendors, especially locally, offering that as all of the different optometry offices that I would contact and ask about and acted like they didn't have that option. I'm a writer, so I'm on the computer all day. Zenni had the option for affordability and kind of being able to add all the features to my lenses that I wanted to. I also found some frames that I was really happy with.

    The online process is pretty self-explanatory. When I first purchased, I was a little bit worried that it might not be easy to input my prescription. But all of it has been easy. Also, you worry about ordering something like glasses online because you don't really know how they're gonna look on your face when you get them. But the photo import was pretty accurate. I've been wearing the same frames for two and a half years now. I've got two sets of glasses with the prescription lenses.

    My only complaint is that the finish on the frames wears out really quickly. I have a pair of plastic frames and the finish starts to crack and peel within about two months to three months of wearing. So I would just reorder several pairs of the frames all at once. I have frames onhand so that when the frames wear out, I just replace the lenses in the new pair. But the price point kinda counterbalances that. They're $7 a pair, so I’m not too worried about it. I can order three or four pairs of frames at a time and be set for a year. The lenses have held up through popping them in and out of the frames so that says a lot.

    A friend of mine told me about Zenni and so far they have been a good deal for me. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old and he has messed with my glasses all the time. The glasses I got seem like they might be of a crappy quality yet he has yet to break them. The pair I'm wearing is six bucks. So far, I like the styles Zenni offers. I have five kids who all wear glasses except one. Plus, my 15-year-old daughter has to have so many different glasses for different things. This is the only way I could afford to get them all glasses. I wish though that they had more oversized sunglasses. We like the big sunglasses that they have but they're not big enough.

    I found the price excellent, however the prescription has only one 'sweet spot' that I can view through. The rest of the lens makes my view fuzzy. This means that I have to tilt my head to for my field of vision to be accurate, and move my head often to see clearly (rather than moving my eyes).

We see a previous order you placed in February 2020, but the prescription and pupillary distance (PD) entered for those glasses are different from the ones you entered on this April 2020 order, so we are surmising that those glasses were not for you. Since you mention that the lenses have only one sweet spot, we want to offer some information about the progressive glasses we provide that we hope will be helpful. We use a style of progressives called free form. Free form progressives have a progressive reading corridor shaped somewhat like a funnel, with wide distance vision at the top of the lens, getting progressively narrower, approximately 12-14 millimeters wide, in the sections with intermediate (computer) and near (reading) vision. There is no vision correction on either side of this progressive reading corridor, so we advise customers to point their nose at what they are viewing through the lenses, rather than moving their eyes from side to side, as you discovered when you tried to find the best way to use the glasses. The top of the progressive reading corridor is placed at 5 mm above the center line of the lenses. Your frame, 125116, has a 33-mm lens height. The center line, therefore, would be at 16.5 mm up from the bottom, with the top of the progressive reading corridor placed at 21.5 mm up from the bottom. We are sorry if this means the near-vision section of the glasses is small and placed on the lens in a way that requires you to tilt your head up to use it effectively. Since your frame’s temple arms are embedded with stainless steel rods, this makes the temple arms relatively easy to adjust. You may find that if you bend the temple tips (the part of the temple arm after the bend where they meet your ear) downward, this will raise the glasses and also raise the near-vision reading section of the progressive reading corridor, putting it higher, and, we hope, in your field of vision. We also hope that the information we provided in this response to your review helps you use these progressive glasses effectively, but if it does not, we want to advise that, if you believe that we may have made the glasses incorrectly, you may return them to us for an inspection. If our inspection finds any manufacturing errors, we will offer to remake the glasses for you for free. The blue light protection feature of the lens is barely noticeable and does not seem to be working at all. The lenses, unlike previous lenses I've received are practically uncleanable. They are also very susceptible to scratching. My glasses are constantly blurry because no matter how hard I try to clean them, they simply smudge everything. I've worn glasses my entire life and have never been so annoyed with a pair, it just does not seem to be normal and definitely not the standard I've previously received.

    I recently had an optho visit where, even with insurance, a pair of glasses (with most of the bells and whistles; progressive lenses, with transitional darkening in sunlight, etc) cost upwards of $500. As my vision is very important for my job, and seems to be on the decline, I ponied up the $500+ for the office provided glasses which are great.     Don't expect the glasses to last more than a few month. A magnet fell out after a few months and they offered nothing in support. Don't expect anything after your first 30 days. Essentially disposable glasses. They have problems quickly and you have to buy another pair after a few months.

    Zenni is a great option for buying glasses if you don’t want to go to your local optician or optical center at one of the big box stores. It’s a great deal with low prices on frames and lenses - although the more “special” additions you tack on, the more expensive they get. I got a pair of bifocal, mirrored sunglasses for around $82.00 compared to over $300 at my eye doctor. I never could get the 3D preview feature to work, but you can also upload a photo and see how the glasses would look once you have them on. Not perfect, but it helps to visualize. I would also recommend looking at the frame size (listed in millimeters) and make sure they won’t be too small or too large for what you like.

    I can see the bifocal lines while wearing these glasses...so I brought them to my eye dr. They said that the bifocal lines are not in the correct place which is why I can see the lines.     I ordered 2 pairs of glasses, one as single vision and the other progressives, the single vision I thought I had ordered as transitional tint but when I looked back at the order I apparently had not (my own mistake) otherwise they are good. The progressives I can’t wear as the vision field is too high in the lens so in order to wear them successfully I end up having the below the bridge bone of my nose, almost at the tip.     The virtual try-on was pretty accurate, I like the way the frames fit. The lenses are scratch-resistant and I’ve noticed fingerprints barely leave a mark, or are at least easily cleaned. The only thing I’m not happy with is the tinted lenses. I had chosen the blue-light blocking lenses, then at checkout it said a different kind were recommended for my prescription. It was only a few dollars more and I thought the only difference was it being hydrophobic but apparently the lenses darken when you go in the sun. I don’t mind that part, but there is always a slight yellowish tint on my glasses, even when I’m indoors. Because of that, these are now my backup pair of glasses and I’m ordering a new pair. I wish I would have really paid attention to what it was “recommending” to me in checkout.

    During May 2020, they had a banner at the top of their page proudly stating "Order processing, production, and standard shipping remains unaffected during the crisis." So May 7th, I place my order. It estimates 14 to 21 days to delivery. There was no rush option. May 27th I call their customer help number. I was concerned because my order showed as manufactured but waiting to ship since the week prior and I was moving at the end of the month. I was assured that my glasses would arrive the following day. Much to no one's surprise, that did not happen.

    I was FINALLY given a tracking number on the 21st day, set to deliver days late, and several days after I was to move out of state. They apologized of course, but the meager shipping fee refund that I was offered wont cover having to have my previous housing ship my glasses to my new location. So if you order from them, make sure you don't need your glasses anytime within a month, because you won't get them.

    I ordered two pairs of glasses and waited the requisite 2 weeks for delivery. Put them on and instant no-go! Incorrectly made lenses. I even turned them upside down wondering if left and right had been confused. I have purchased four other pairs of glasses from online competitors in the past and decided to try Zenni. Wrong choice! Huge waste of time and probably not worth the effort to even post this review...

    My aunt told me about Zenni. About over five years, I've ordered about 20 glasses from them. I love using the website. It’s awesome. Sometimes it’s a little confusing with the pupillary distance, but I don’t think that’s a them-problem, it’s a me-problem. The quality of the frames I got is great. The price is perfect and I haven’t had any issues. One time, I ordered glasses that look really weird on me. So, I talked to their customer service, and they sent me a new pair for free, and they were super helpful. I tell people about Zenni all the time. Any time anyone tells me that they’re gonna get new glasses, I always recommend them.

    Frame broke on glasses when I dropped. Lenses were fine so ordered exact same frame. Lenses did not fit the frame, Zenni said that they couldn’t assure that frame would fit so I needed to order new glasses and frame. This is their responsibility to make sure frames are the same when you have exact same catalog number. If not they need to discontinue part number. I sent glasses and new frame back for them to fit lenses to frame and they said they were unable to do this and to order new pair of glasses. Customer service refuses to recall listen to issue and just give stock company response.

    Using Zenni's website is really simple because you can filter out whatever you’re looking for. I liked the Try-On feature. I tried it out, but I mostly just went off looking at the dimensions of the glasses. The shipping doesn’t take very long, which is nice.     I ordered glasses from Zenni Optical on May 1st, 2020. They were to have been delivered yesterday, May 18th. However, when you track the order you can see it hasn't left their facility in Novato, CA - it has been sitting there 6 days, since May 13th. I have checked with the Post Office and they assure me it has not been entered into the USPS system. I called Zenni Customer service yesterday, explaining the issue. They give a "canned" answer that technically they have 21 days to deliver, so I need to wait until May 23rd to do anything about my missing order. The person could not even understand the problem.

    I called back to customer service again today, after once again double checking with the Post Office. It took forever for me to get them to understand waiting another 4 days on a package that hasn't even been picked up and put into the USPS system is ludicrous - the package has been lost or misplaced in their facility. After an extremely long time on hold, they finally tell me they will send an email with my concerns to their operations dept., and I should receive an email back from them within 48 hours. They still seem unable to comprehend what the actual problem is, and trying to explain it to an individual who does not understand English very well only complicates the problem. Very, very disappointed and frustrated.

    It has been 51 days and I still do not have the proper glasses. When I received my 1st pair, I noticed that the lenses went out in and out of focus when looking up or looking down. I contacted support, they told me to send them back, which I did. It took 14 days for the lens to be inspected, they came back and said that the lenses were out of tolerance so they said I could get a new pair of glasses or get a refund. I choose get the new pair since I liked the frames. I finally got the 2nd pair and the exact same problem is happening - in and out of focus when looking up or down. Now I have to send them back again to get re-inspected. For me this has been a bad experience overall and would be tough for me to recommend at this point.

We were very sorry to read that you are having the same vision issues with the second, remade, pair as you had with the first pair, as well as observing a discrepancy in the two lenses’ thickness, which you did not mention regarding the first pair. Consequently, we profusely apologize for any dissatisfaction you experienced due to these issues. We do not see that we mentioned this in our previous responses to you, but we want to confirm that we place the top of our progressive reading corridor at 5 millimeters above the center line of the lens. The lenses of your frame, 406415, are 32 mm tall. The center line then is at 16 mm, and the top of the progressive reading corridor starts at 5 mm above this, 21 mm up from the bottom, with 11 mm of distance vision at the top. The reading section toward the bottom of the lens may be a little up from the bottom, so you may be finding that if you try to look through the very bottom of the lenses to read, you may not be looking through the “sweet spot” of the reading section and therefore, what you see may be blurry. We hope that this information is helpful. Nevertheless, as we confirmed to you yesterday, May 14, 2020, when we inspect the remade glasses, if our inspection finds any manufacturing errors and you decline a second remake, we will fully refund what you spent on this purchase, $98.46, which includes the $4.95 shipping fee, to the credit card you used to pay for them.     The prescription was correct, but didn’t go into the inside edges of the corners. The frames themselves were cheap plastic. I’m very disappointed in their service. I would NOT recommend. They don’t refund you but half of the cost. Although they will give you store credit at 100%.

Regarding your comment about the prescription in the lenses, we want to confirm that we use a style of progressive lenses called free form, which has a fairly narrow progressive reading corridor, shaped like a funnel -- wider at the top, getting narrower toward the middle -- and approximately 12-14 millimeters wide at the narrowest point. There is no vision correction on either side of this progressive reading corridor. That is why you do not see a correction on the inside (or outside) edges of the corners. We advise our customers unused to wearing free form progressives to point their nose at what they are viewing, rather than moving their eyes from side to side. We were disappointed to read in the database record notes that you changed your mind about sending the glasses back for an inspection and instead chose to return the glasses to receive the 50 percent refund of what you spent on the glasses to the credit card you used to pay for them. We are additionally disappointed that you also declined the 100 percent refund in the form of store credit to your Zenni account, which you would be able to use toward another purchase.     I ordered a pair of glasses for my foster child because he kept breaking his glasses. Zenni had the ones that are totally rubber that bend and twist. So, I ordered those for him, and when the hospital lost my glasses that I had paid a bloody fortune for, I was like, “Well, I’m not spending that much on my glasses.” So, I ordered mine through Zenni as well.

    However, the experience totally sucked. They did okay with price but I was really disappointed. Mine weren’t the quality that I thought they were gonna be. Also, Zenni sent me a notice that said my glasses were on their way and it took three weeks for them to get here. And the tracking said that it was going to be here in a week, but I don’t know what happened to them. So, I was sitting there checking the mail everyday, waiting for them to get here. And whenever I tried to get Zenni to help me, they said that it was out of their hands and they couldn’t figure out where they were. If they sent you a tracking number and gave you a date that it’s going to arrive, they should be able to tell you why it hasn’t if it didn’t. I didn’t know if mine were totally lost or if they were never taken to the shipper.

    I ordered a pair of glasses from Zenni during the covid19 quarantine because I needed a new pair of glasses on the fly, and businesses were closed. I was hoping for an inexpensive pair of glasses that I could use at least for the time being - maybe they would become my backup pair later on. The glasses I received are correct for my left eye, but are blurry and not correct in my right eye. My optometrist's office just opened back up, so I took the pair of glasses in, and they checked them out and told me that a mistake had been in the right lens. The prescription is correct, but the lens has been made almost backwards (from what I understand) with the pupil center measured in rather than out (it is NOT an issue with the pupillary distance I submitted in my prescription, but a manufacturing mistake.)

    I called Zenni and they told me I would need to send the glasses back, wait 14 days for an inspection to take place, and then I would hear back about the possibility of having the glasses corrected and sent back to me. This means that rather than the quick, inexpensive solution I'd been hoping for, these glasses will take weeks to turn around and will basically do me no good.

    My optometrist's office suggested that maybe Zenni could send me a correct lens as a replacement, and my optometrist offered to install the new lens in the glasses for me. This would have saved time, shipping cost, stress and effort on my part. Zenni customer service made it clear that this was not an option, and that even though my optometrist could assure me the mistake was on Zenni's end, I would have to send the entire pair back and waste significantly more time.

    I needed Zenni to come through for me with what they promise - inexpensive, convenient, easy glasses - in a stressful time, and they failed in a major way. I'm disappointed and reminded once again, that more often than not, you get what you pay for. I can't wait until the local Warby Parker store opens back up so I can go try on some glasses and be helped, face to face. My recommendation is not to trust Zenni with any complicated prescriptions, such as astigmatism, where attention to small details in the lenses is essential to the glasses functioning properly. For very simple prescriptions, I'm sure the glasses and cheap frames are just fine. For what it's worth, the frames look pretty good.

    You are only allowed to use one promo code at a time, including free shipping on orders over $20 dollars and the medical provider code given during the COVID crisis. Dishonest in the way it is set up, in that you think you are getting it until the very last page. I think most people click through and assume they received it. Not a smart company decision as most companies do not consider free shipping as a code, and it is a 4-5 dollar decision that really leaves the buyer with a bad taste in their mouth. I do not like to feel like I am being cheated. And as an eye physician in training, I will now tell patients to go elsewhere. Please do not be fooled by all of the upgrades and as your physician about them before purchasing. Most are a moneymaking ploy. I guess all in all, this company markets themselves as dishonest.

There is a huge difference between my R and L eye in the amount of correction needed and I have to say I was more than a little surprised by how perfect my new tri-focal transitional lens glasses are.     I placed my order on April 22, 2020 and decided to use the free shipping (I always use the express shipping) and it’s already May 06, 2020 and nobody from Zenni reach out to me and explain what’s happening to my order. I decided to send a message on their Facebook page and after a few minutes got a reply and gave me a tracking number. Tried to check the tracking number they gave me and saw it's in Alberta since April 24. What’s happening? I don’t understand. I’m a loyal customer. Been ordering my glasses there for years. Right now I don’t know when my glasses would arrive. I’m really disappointed.

    I hopefully can pass on some info other seniors need to know about Zenni Optical before you order from them. I am from Canada and sent in an order for one pair of glasses. I used my existing prescription of which I am wearing now with an older pair of glasses. I can see amazing with them. The glasses I received from Zenni were not good. I could not wear them as my vision was not clear and I got dizzy wearing them. Now here is where things get worse. I wanted to send them back to get them done right but I had to pay for them to send them back. So I did knowing they would find my prescription was incorrect in the glasses and they would pay for it. I was sure this would happen.

    Before sending them back I went and got someone to confirm they were incorrect. I sent my findings to Zenni confirming the incorrect prescription. Zenni said I was wrong. Zenni said they were correct. My choices were to get a full credit but only to buy from them. I did not want to do this because of the horrible customer service I received. I just wanted my money back. I was told if I want my money back they will only refund me 50%. What? Save your money people. They are a rip off. Even if you send proof your prescription is wrong they will tell you there is nothing wrong with them.

    Zenni made my glasses wrong. Made me wait on the phone for an hour. Made me mail them back. Then tried to tell me they were made correctly. Then refused to refund me the money. Zenni actually told me to take a store credit and try again. Just give me back my money. I had bought a high end pair of Progressive glasses at Costco that work GREAT. I needed a backup pair for the Corona Virus Quarantine as I am working from home and Costco Optical is closed. I sent Zenni the exact same prescription (even a photo of the one I was using). Zenni made them wrong, denied it, and only offered me 50% back. This should be illegal. I will Never use Zenni. It's a scam. It's a ripoff. At least it feels that way to me.

    Ordered glasses 3 weeks ago and they said I’d receive them in 2-3 weeks. As of today, it still says “processing” for the status. I’ve called twice only to be given the run around by CSRs that are obviously just reading from a script and have no real idea of what customer service means. I was told to call back in two days if I hadn’t received them for “options”. I asked what that meant and was told I could either have them remade or get store credit. I told her I wanted a full refund if that happens. That’s ridiculous that they want to give you only store credit for their mistake. Guarantee I won’t buy from them again. You get what you pay for. Stay away from this place.

    I cant comment on the quality of the glasses because I didn't get them yet. I did however, get lots of excuses and contradictory stories about why shipping is taking weeks and where my glasses are. Customer service is for the birds. They just keep sinking lower each time I speak to them. Apparently, the glasses we order, are produced in China to the specifications that we input and when ready these are shipped to the US. If you happen to live in Canada, I was told that the company does not have the ability to ship directly from China but instead, to a facility in the US, from there to a distribution center in Canada and then, if I ever see the day, to me the customer.

    I know that some might give Zenni the benefit of the doubt and say that Corona is slowing everything down. I may have thought so, too, if I didnt read the notice that appeared on their site, when I was ordering, that clearly indicated that they were NOT experiencing any slowdowns due to Corona/COVID. To be fair, I will be pleased to review the quality of the glasses, that is, if I ever get them.

    Updated on 05/02/2020: I inquired about returns and James ** wasn’t giving me a hard time so I asked to speak to the manager. He put me on hold for one hour and fifteen minutes. He then got back on the phone without a manager and asked for the order number. Again. After I gave him the order number again, so that he could look into it again, he hung up on me. So much for trying to buy more pairs of glasses.

    Original Review: Glasses were too narrow and looked like it was a pair for children. Otherwise, I really liked them. I wanted to call in to ask what kind of adjustments they could make. The customer service representative that had been there for ten years sounded like he was having a bad Friday so I asked to speak to the manager. After some silence, I asked if the transfer was going to happen. He said I would be ok hold for 1 or 2 minutes. It’s been 40 minutes now. I still haven’t heard anything. I should go charge my phone or accept the fact that they are trying to avoid processing a return.

    Finally received my order, they are too big. So my choices are to either go through the whole searching process again, not being assured I will find a pair that fits properly, OR they will give me a 50% refund! All while I have to use my scratched glasses that are becoming worse daily. 50% - I sized them by their sizing guide.

    Plus, it might help to have representatives that don't have such an accent that we cannot understand what they were saying. A good portion of my frustration was bc I had to decipher every word they said and repeat it back for confirmation!! I will never order from here again, that is AFTER I get my first pair that fits properly and I sure will not be recommending Zenni to anyone else!

    I purchased a pair of glasses with 1.67 free form lenses; their second most expensive. They came in with one lens 1/4" thick. When I called the rep asked me to email a copy of my prescription that is already on the order. When I asked him why he needed that, he told me to mail in the glasses for inspection, a process that would take three weeks. I waited three weeks for the glasses, not going to wait three more. I've been a customer for 15 years, noticed declining quality, now service is just as bad. No longer a Zenni customer.

    I ordered two pair of glasses both which I immediately returned. They were graduated lenses. They were totally off. The return process was a big pain and they do not return your money. You get a reduced store credit, which I did not want because I do not trust their lab. The refund is only 50% of the reduced credit. Don't waste your money. Go to a real glasses store where they know what they are doing.

    I bought 2 pairs of glasses 3 months prior to writing this review, the glasses in question have a scratch horizontal across the right lens after using the clean, cleaning cloth they supplied with the glasses, they refuse to replace the glasses or give a discounted price on a new pair, they are saying it is my fault the glasses are scratched. After only 3 months of use, seems to me that the lenses would not have scratched if they had the anti scratch coating on them that Zenni Optical claims was on them. I only used the clean microfiber cloth they supplied, they are a business that just lost a customer! "They dont cover Scratches" is no excuse to deny Warranty Exchange! Horrible Support Department!!

    I was in a play and we noticed that one of the directors had several pairs of glasses. We asked where she got them from and she said Zenni Optical. I looked it up and I found several pairs of glasses I would like to get. The only hard part in the ordering process is measuring the distance between your eyes. If you don't have your prescription in front of you for the first time, then you have to go to the optometrist and get a prescription and filling that out. But it’s great that you could save your prescription. I ordered four pairs and all of them were full rim. There's one pair of glasses that are my favorite and they were just like the ones that I got before. They are the brown glasses and just clear in the top. The quality is great.

    You always see people in commercials for eyeglasses and they look like they don't have any lenses in the glasses. Then, when I started ordering them off of Zenni, at a certain angle, the glasses looked like they didn't have any lenses in them, which was crazy. The glasses were comfortable. I've only had one pair where the nose pad came off, but that's an easy fix. You just get a kit.

    I have attempted to order glasses from Zenni twice. The first time I ordered them was in 2018 but they shipped the glasses to an incorrect address. They informed me it could not be fixed, refunded, and had me contact USPS to find the shipment, which was never located. I ordered glasses again April 2020, which did arrive but with warped lenses that seem to have the correct prescription but otherwise are very nauseating to wear as the glasses magnify on the peripherals. I have a very basic prescription and kept the customizations limited in hopes to have functional glasses. I cannot return them as I do not have access to a printer and the public resources are closed. Customer service has been difficult and not very understanding. Overall another disappointing experience with Zenni. Would not recommend trying them.

    Somebody at my job, my supervisor, told me about Zenni and I decided to purchase since it was cheap and they had a whole bunch of different styles. I ended up getting glasses with a transition option, which turn into sunglasses, and the process was very easy. It was pretty much self-explanatory. I also went ahead and paid a little extra to have it rushed but it still took seven days.
