My treatment plan shows that I will be able to only realign my top teeth, not the bottom. Yet, you guys want to charge me in full, the price that you would for both upper and lower teeth and that isn't right. There should be a discount if only half the mouth is being treated.

I really wanted to go into the store for a scan rather than doing it at home so that I was able to understand the process and make sure I did not make any mistakes. It was very cool to see the scan and understand the teeth that had shifted and were causing changes to my smile. I am excited to get started!

Pleasant, kind and informative about my questions I had. Interested in having a Permanent aligner so I don’t have to keep buying them. Since I am paying the full price and only need the top which I knew when I agreed. Love the whitening.

I had my 3D scan yesterday morning at Orlando Smile office. Rebecca was very nice and knowledgeable about the process and It was only 30 mins or less. I had a good experience and looking forward to start the treatment.

My bottom teeth in the front were “too involved for what SmileDirect offers”. I don’t care if it would take 12-24 months to correct my teeth instead of the 4-6 months they advertise. This was a Christmas gift from my husband to take care of a long term dream. I have been turned down for commercials because of my lower teeth! I would undergo a longer correction to finally correct this problem. My heart hurt when I was notified! Joanie

The initial appointment was a streamlined process. From check-in to consultation, the entire process only took 15-20 minute. The check-in clerk and the consultant, Monica, were excellent, in explaining the steps and leaving no questions unanswered.

When ordering my aligners I was given a coupon code to make the payments $49 a month. Nowhere in the advertising did it say that the cost of the aligners would go up more and that the payments would be for a longer period of time. I keep getting different answers from customer service. My order was canceled and then I was thought I wouldn’t be able to have it fixed or replaced for another five weeks after already waiting the 2 to 3 weeks that I was told it would take to get my order. I have screenshots showing the estimated cost for my retainers and it says 2389. If this was a mistake that is an error on their side, not a cost I should foot.

I was interested in having my lower teeth straightened, but the "Smile Plan" only included the upper teeth. When I inquired, I was told that Smile Club is only for "minor to moderate straightening". I had to go through the entire process to learn I wasn't a candidate. Also, your emails and texts were super-annoying.

My first time visit at SmileDirectClub was comfortable, easy and quick. Angie was the one assisting me and talking to me about the process of the aligners as well as the effects it will have on my teeth once I start my journey. She was easy to talk to, very nice and she will gladly answer any questions you might have. Before my visit ended, they gave me a teeth whitening kit and I can’t wait to start using them!

I received my impression kit and had it dropped In mail. It took a little while to get there but once it did they did a pretty quick job at creating my new smile. I sit staring at the 3d results just dreaming that I could be able to afford the program. I was under the impression that whitening would come with the kit as it said free whitening but I never got anything like that, only the clay and molds. It would be so nice to be able to get my dream smile but as a Muslim I only have the option to full pay since other options add interest. :(

I was recommended aligners that didn’t make much difference at all, at a steep cost and lengthy time frame to wear them. I was also constantly sent emails and texts as “reminders” to do my moulds, when they had already mailed them back. It was borderline harassment how many messages I got. Would not recommend.

I originally came to SDC for answers regarding my oral health and alignment a couple months before I committed. They made me feel welcome and uninhibited in my consultation. The manager and I even exchanged some personal stories that made me feel more comfortable And ultimately lead to my decision to pursue Smile Direct Club. The entire experience was super enjoyable and I feel confident putting “my money where my mouth is” literally and physically.

My dentist hygienist suggested SmileDirectClub. We were talking about my teeth. As I got older, they were misaligned. And she said a lot of people were doing the invisible aligners. We talked about XYZ company. And she said, “Well, SmileDirect is just as good and their prices are more reasonable.” There happens to be a shop in the city where I live. So I made an appointment and went, had my teeth scanned, and started from there. However, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more follow up. As I completed, I would have expected someone to contact me and ask me if I was satisfied. Because they have a lifetime guarantee as long as you continue to use their aligners. And I haven't been contacted by anybody. Other than that, it was a good value. My teeth are perfectly aligned, except for one tooth that didn't seem to come in very well. But the rest of them are aligned. I also use the whitener and my teeth are beautiful and white.

I so badly wanted this to be successful. I followed the protocol to the letter (wearing the aligners around the clock except when eating). Unfortunately, when I got to the end of the treatment, I still had a couple teeth in an excessively sideways position. SDC has the Smile Guarantee, but their customer service is just so disorganized and sloppy that they have not made good on it. Every representative I have spoken with has been polite but not at all knowledgeable. I have been fighting with them for over a month to get me new aligners to finish the treatment. $2,000 is a good deal if you actually receive what you purchased. Otherwise, it's a lot of money to waste. I'm hoping this will incentivize them to sort it out quickly because I do still want the results I was promised and I know that it is possible.

Oh my gosh, Hailey was amazing. The atmosphere was great. She made the whole experience fun and easy. She was incredibly personable and professional, it was like we had been friends for years. She explained the process, answered all of my questions, and she made sure that I was comfortable. They even gave me a complimentary whitening kit with some lip balm with a cute reusable bag. The one time I needed to call when I had a problem, I was able to talk to somebody right away and get a solution. My teeth are a lot straighter. They're not perfect but overall, I'm satisfied with it. I got my money's worth.

Got the results I hoped for at much less cost than other products. Only negative is that the cleaning tablets may have sanitized the aligners but did little in the way of cleaning. Still had to clean them by hand.

You charged my car 1950$ without my permission after you received my impressions. I did not authorize this charge. I was told I was charged because I selected that in my sheet included in the impression kit which isn’t true because I I know I only put my name, email and phone number on the card. I was then told I was charged because I didn’t say anything to the 3d renderings which I got 3 hours before my card was charged and never reviewed. I want an explication on why I was charged without my authorization.

The person who checked my teeth was a lot of fun. She made me feel welcome. At no point during the appointment did I ever feel like I was being pressured to do what I didn’t feel comfortable doing. It was successful. She did a good of explaining to me what I needed to do when I received my materials for straightening my teeth. I hope if I ever come back to the Salon, I get to meet that person again. She was very nice.

I went to a Smile Direct Club location to get my scan done today, and it was such an easy and pleasant experience. My technician was Daisy, and she answered all the questions I had and was super friendly. The scan itself was much easier than getting molds done, and I was in and out within 30 minutes. I’m looking forward to getting my aligners.

From start to finish, the experience was great! Tasha and Jen at the Ft. Myers, FL Boyscout location were very welcoming, professional, & courteous. Jen explained the scanning process & use of aligners very clearly & with thorough instructions. Was very gentle with the 3D scan and was great about making me feel comfortable. We had an excellent experience at Smile Direct Club! Jammie helped us, and she was friendly, funny, and quick. My teenage daughter was a little nervous about it at first but commented several times afterwards about how it was actually fun for her and made her laugh. I definitely recommend for this alone, much less the cost savings.

Niecy was extremely patient and caring about my concerns. She made myself and my guest feel 100% comfortable, she also made sure she sanitized the entire room and all the equipment right in front of me as to insure me or my guest that we wouldn't catch any germs from the previous client. I wish more people would be as caring and informative as Niecy was.
Please stay very far away from Mary b. Mary called me and texted me during my appointment to let me know that I won't be seen today because I was 10 minutes late. Mary b. Refused to give me her boss's name when I wanted to make a complaint so I had to call corporate only to find out that several complaints have been made against Mary b. If Mary b happens to give you or anyone else problems please call corporate and make a complaint. Mary b does not deserve to get paid to be rude to several people who are just trying to have a nice smile. Do not even give Mary b the chance to assist you because she only makes thing complicated.

Good visit! I sort of already knew what I was getting into when I went in so I really just had to do the scan. A lot of the information you can read online before you go in. Ashley was very knowledgeable and personable. She stepped me through everything and made it super easy. I had a couple questions and she answered them easily. My only complaint is that I think the appointments were scheduled too close together so it felt a little bit rushed. Otherwise it was a great visit!

The free scan was an easy and pleasant process. I was seeking information specifically for correction of my bottom teeth, as my top were already straight and was told the only option is to correct both top and bottom teeth. I was asked to commit and make my first payment prior to a dentist reviewing my scan or going over my treatment plan. I declined and waited until I revived the results of my scan. A few days after my scan I received an email stating my “treatment plan” has been approved and prompted me to make a payment. The approved treatment plan only showed changes to my top teeth, so I called to speak with someone who told me only my top teeth could be corrected.
Approving my treatment plan for both my top and bottom teeth when my bottom teeth could not be corrected feels deceptive. I feel my treatment plan should not have been approved if my bottom teeth could not be corrected at all and my top teeth hardly needed any correcting. I urge anyone exploring this as an option to be very diligent in reviewing the treatment plan and asking questions.

I went in knowing I was going to do. The process was just a formality. Everyone was helpful and answered the remaining questions that I had. My issue is that I received an email, that I still have, saying I would receive a $25 prepaid visa gift card after the visit but all they give you is a $25 voucher good towards “grin goodies” *with* an additional $50 purchase. Bad form. Other than that we’re good.

The person who did my 3D scan seemed a little lost when I was asking about the sweepstake you were having regarding the free aligner set which I was required to either book a 3d scan for or do the impression kit and I opted for the scan to get it done quicker. She really seemed stoic and robotic while she was explaining the details and I was just not enthralled, I am actually disinterested in coming back if anything. Like anybody who has some financial literacy, I am interested in saving when I can so when I have the option to win something like this for FREE I of course will take interest in it by asking the right questions and doing my part. She seemed slightly irritated when I asked a simple question about it and she was forced to acknowledge she had no clue and told me to contact customer service.
I would assume coming all the way to the SmileDirectClub that a person working there would have some basic sense of the sweepstakes that are being offered etc. Just cause some people don't understand the concept of saving/investing and exhausting all possible available sources doesn't mean you have to feel some type of way about the people that do. Not only that but when I was trying to explain about my history of braces and retainers and being interested in possibly getting retainers alone she just seemed very very lost like she couldn't improvise outside of her mental script. My teeth have not shifted much, I am also fine with how they currently look, and don't mind just simply maintaining them.
Back story is, my old top retainer is breaking down after 15 years of using it (I lost the bottom ones that's why you see more shifting on the bottom teeth) and I am looking into getting a new pair of retainers since it has helped keep my top teeth from shifting too much and barely anyone can see my bottom teeth so I am not concerned. I have one tooth on the top ever so slightly jutting out but still my teeth look very good after getting my braces removed 15 years ago). If smile direct club can't provide that and forces you to pay the same amount a person who has really crooked teeth would then I can easily find somewhere else to get new retainers alone. I would love to be entered in the sweepstake to get a more "perfect" smile and ultimately get some new retainers in the process but if not there are other services etc. available who can offer retainers alone.

My initial visit today was fun yet very professional. Every step of the Smile process was explained well. I received a tote bag with teeth whitener along with LED accelerator light and a $25 digital Visa card, just for the visit. On top of being excited about getting new aligners, I also received an additional $100 off with the invite code my daughter sent me. By the way, she also got $100 for the referral!

I liked the convenience that SmileDireClub offered. Also, a friend of mine used them and I liked the results that I saw. I previously had traditional braces. After a while, I misplaced my retainer, moved to another state, and had an opportunity to get another retainer. I needed to fix the little inconsistencies that not wearing a retainer for about seven months caused. SmileDirectClub lived up to everything that they say that they would do. Their product was great and so was their customer service. My smile turned out just the way I assumed that it would turn out. It went well.

My teeth spaced back out so I needed to get them back lined up. I decided to work with SmileDirectClub because I kept seeing a lot of social media posts about them and their results for a while. I made an appointment for their physical location then I went there one day. It was a 30-minute consult. They x-rayed my teeth and let me know how much time it’s gonna take to get the first ones out. It was four to six weeks after they fabricate things. I've never had any issues since then. They usually send me an email to check in and I do that probably two or three times. My results were 90% varied stuff. I could have gone a little bit more. I still have a few little gaps that I wanted to be tightened up. Overall, I'm still happy with my results.

After dealing with the failure and poor service during the Impression kit submission, including SmileDirect telling me for almost a week after the kit was delivered to Smile Direct, that I didn't return it... I'm not sure that I can trust Smile Direct with my son's dental health. If you can't keep up with a delivery, can you really keep up with Dental Care? Not sure I want to risk $2k on it, was can Smile Direct do to ease my concerns?

I've been researching all the different clear aligner companies, so I decided to do molds for all of them to weigh price/results. I booked an appointment for SDC since my office is near one of their locations. I put my CC info to book the free appointment (in case of no-show). Everyone at the office was super nice and my scan went fine. At the end they had me sign a form for the plan, and I was obviously cautious to do so. I explained that I did not want to be charged without seeing the projected results, which was supposed to be 72 hours from my appointment. I assured (more than once) that I would be able to review my plan before deciding if I want to move forward and that I would absolutely not be charged. This was a lie. The next day I was surprised to find that I was charged $250 for the deposit since I indicated I would be doing the payment plan IF I decided to move forward. I also received an email that my aligners were already in production.
I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN WHAT YOU GUYS WOULD DO TO MY TEETH. I had to call and cancel the entire order, and I was told I'd need to start from square one and do another 3D scan if I decided to move forward with SDC (spoiler alert: I will be going with Candid who actually uses orthodontists). After reading other reviews, I have a feeling I'll be on the phone with SDC's customer service a few more times when my refund inevitably doesn't go through. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY COMPANY.

Unfortunately after consulting with the dental team we have determined that my smile is not ideal for the Smile Direct solution. Which is disappointing because my experience with your company has been uniquely positive. The office staff was very professional. Goals and expectations were communicated clearly and with a hospitable and fun atmosphere. The scanning assistant was thorough and conscientious. And the online support did not hesitate to escalate my questions to the dental team. Keep up the great work!

The service was great, quick and easy. Was comfortable with the consultation, there was no discomfort on the scanning of my teeth and it was really impressive on the technology used to get a molding done for the teeth. Overall a great experience.

Ordered my aligners in November. Was told I would receive them in 2-3 weeks. Contacted customer service. After 3 & 6 weeks both times they told me they were in production and should be mailed out soon. Contacted customer service on January 12th and just flat out asked for my refund and at that time I was told the company was severely behind and my aligners were still waiting to be printed. I wasted my time with your company. My whole reason of wanting to go with Smile is because I wanted straight teeth by an important event. Now I have to redo the whole process with another company. You guys didn't even try to make it right, didn't even offer to rush the process. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION & SERVICE.

I was there on a confirmed appointment and I had to wait 40 mins past my appointment time to be taken in. When I went there, there were not enough seats available so I had to stand for 15 mins before I got a seat.

Both of my sisters used SmileDirect and they really liked the result, so I gave them a try. It's easy really to figure everything out and I like the process. I have to wear my retainers for four months and I'm on my first month. The results look really good except my teeth are straight in the morning then by the afternoon or evening, they're not. SmileDirect is worth it.

The meeting with the tech went well. She was engaging. At no time was it indicated that there would be an answer of "we cannot help you". Four days later, I received the call stating that for the cost, the only thing that could be fixed were my upper teeth, not the lower. My upper have little wrong with them and it is not cost effective to assume I would pay $2000 for that which has little issue. Your organization should be upfront and your techs should know if there are those customers that cannot be assisted with your product. Waste of time and my personal information.

Lamar was kind however when he was doing the scan it kind of hurt and he said "yeah I have to do this part of your mouth though." And before it started he asked if I wanted to be recorded and that "I will receive a $25 gift card." That is all he stated, but instead after I get home I realized I was video recorded for the prime reason that I'd receive $25 gift card, but instead receive an email stating I can redeem $25 to my next purchase of $50 or more. That's fraudulent and you should make sure to tell your employees to be specific when they state it will be a $25 gift card in return for being video recorded. I'd like my video to be erased from your records because that is not why I agreed to it.

I liked the convenience and the pricing of SmileDirectClub. There was a store local to where I am so it was really easy to go there. I set up the appointment and I went into the store to do the initial molds. The guy there was super friendly and nice. It was a comprehensive and thorough appointment so I was pretty satisfied with it. We got it all set up quickly. From there, I got the shipment of all the retainers. Luckily, I didn't have any hiccups so everything worked out for me. I didn't ever have to get anything remade or anything fixed.
I noticed a significant change even within the first two months on my top teeth. As for my bottom teeth, it was more significantly midway through. It took four or five months to really be able to noticeably tell the change. Overall, just do it with SmileDirectClub. I was wishy-washy about it for a really long time. It turned out to be such an easy and seamless process. I wish I could have done it sooner.

I had seen stuff online and different commercials of SmileDirectClub and it was so much cheaper so I thought that it would be an easy route for me. Because I didn't want to have to go to the dentist every couple of weeks to get fitted for the aligner, go in to get the x-rays and get fitted, it was so much easier just one time and then having everything sent directly to me. I did it online and scheduled an appointment and went there. They were very helpful, nice, got everything taken care of for me within 30 minutes and I was out the door. I had a gap in between my two front teeth, some spacing between some other ones, but nothing really major. So that was what I wanted to do because I was insecure about that. When I had talked to the lady, she said it's an easy fix and she thought it would work fine and she was right.
I feel good about the results. It's done everything that I wanted it to do. There's still one tooth that has a little bit of space in between, but I don't know if that's just something that won't completely close. But in general, everything was fine. They're a lot easier and sooner than I had thought it would be, because I didn't believe that it would happen that fast and it did.

I chose the Lancaster location to have my appointment at and I am so glad I made that decision. Although the office was running behind with appointments, due to being unintentionally understaffed, the employees present made sure to communicate every step of the way. The first retainer I put on didn't last any time. It was three or four days, and it was so loose at the back of the teeth that I could actually take my tongue and flip it off. The rep took photos and they sent me another one. I called another time because I cracked one, and they just told me what to do. So, the customer service has been great. I wear the retainers for 24 hours, and next week, I start wearing them every day for at least 10 hours at night.
I referred a friend and she is having wisdom tooth removed. SmileDirectClub sent her the kit and she said, "I forget, I'm having a wisdom tooth removed, but I don't want to do a mold." So, she called them and the rep told her, "Okay. That's fine. Whenever you're ready for your mold, just send it in." So, she's pleased. Whenever she gets her tooth out, get healed up, she will send in the mold. And she seems to really want to do it. She said her teeth are gapping. She saw how mine turned out, so she wants to try it, because it's so much more economical than getting traditional braces.

Morgan was nice and answered all my questions. I am concerned about how they clean the 3D scan equipment. I was told they wipe down everything but the camera glass that goes in your mouth. That’s concerning because that part touches the inside of your mouth and can spread germs and bacteria.

The 3D smile scan was top of the line, really. My smile guide was very informative. It will only take 4-6 months to improve my smile! Plus, if my teeth get misaligned in the future, they fix it free of charge! What a perk. Everything was very clean and my smile guide was very organized. My only worry was the monthly payment. My smile guide helped me sign up for care credit and I was approved instantly. Smile Direct is very affordable now. I'm so excited for my first aligner box to come in the mail!

Monica was awesome at The Smile direct office- very polite, professional, knowledgeable and helpful! It was the customer service number that I called- took over an hour to answer- I had my card ready to pay in full- when answered, a very heavily accent man told me I had been rejected- Smile Direct would not proceed, they could not help me. I did appreciate the honesty to save me from wasting the money (will now go to a real orthodontist). But 2 hours later received an email from an orthodontist from Smile Direct in Austin ready to start my treatments!!!! Very inconsistent! - Whom do I believe??? Not throwing away $2,000 on “maybe”!!!! I have deleted the app and the emails.

What a 5 star experience! Apologies if I've messed up her name but I called and spoke with Veronica (She's at the front desk) and she was so friendly over the phone. When I came into the office she greeted me with a Welcoming smile and cheery disposition. She was personable and really warmed me up. I have Anxiety and tend to be nervous my 1st time going anywhere new but she really made me feel warm and comfortable. Sharine called me back and put the icing on the cake. The process was fast. I didn't have to return my aligners once. I already finished my treatment. I just wear them at night and it's been amazing. I have a couple of teeth that were not in place and this helped. In three weeks, I started to notice the difference. I will 100% recommend Smile Direct.

I do not think I will continue with purchasing my aligners with SmileDirectClub. That is how bad the first impression and customer experience has been with this company. I am certainly not smiling. Just taking part in the first few steps of this customer journey, I have had extreme difficulty conveying basic information, getting proper instructions, and using the functionality of the technology platforms that support this program. It's incredibly disappointing to see a company that has been conveyed as an easy-to-use alternative be realized by me as anything but easy.
The experience was going okay at first. I order my kit and it was shipped to my address. I then used the kit, mailed it back, and then continued to complete my initial steps. This is where SmileDirectClub lost me. I thought such an established company would have a seamless, integrated, and complete digital experience during one of their basic processes that customers use. This is not the case in my experience. While trying to simply upload photos of my teeth to the website, I was not able to. I tried continuously, used different browsers, and tried on both a mobile and desktop platform. No customer willing to pay thousands of dollars should have to go through that just to upload one photo. SmileDirectClub is publicly-traded company; any reasonable person should assume that its digital experience needs to align with such a title.
I then had to figure out SmileDirectClub's customer service contact information and email them that I was having this issue. The photo upload feature was broken. Because of this, I was not able to even complete my own registration for the first part of my experience with SmileDirectClub. Right away, this was a big red flag that this company was not ready to offer such a service and product to a large scale market like they're attempting to do.
Through email, I had to attach my photos and send them to the support team. The support team then replied and asked me to respond to 16 different questions about my history. I was then asked to submit my concerns and was given a dental chart. This instruction was confusing and took support emailing my four different times to convey what exactly they wanted for these "concerns." This concern area should have been made more clear, or more aligned with the actual website experience.
I'm really disappointed that this process had to be done over email and dragged out the experience additional weeks. It's very sad to try to register for this service back-and-forth with customer support rather than through an actual digital platform. I was not able to do any of this through the app even though I constantly see pushes to "get the best results with our app." It's tragic to constantly see this message on the website, but in reality cannot even use it to upload photos, fill out questionnaires, or even see any relevant information about my account.
After receiving the email about giving a review for this experience, I promptly clicked on it to give a constructive review of my experience. I was asked to put in my order number. I thought this would be an easy-to-find number since it was being asked here. Instead, it was extremely difficult for me to even find an order number. It's not on the several support emails I had about the order. It's not on my own dashboard. It not under "my account" on the website. It's not on the shipping confirmation email. It's not on the link to track my kit. It's not on the photo confirmation email. It's not on the treatment plan. It's not even on the "order your aligners" page. Instead, I had to Google how to found it, where Reddit told me that I need to contact customer support for it.
This was the final straw for this dysfunctional experience. Here I am trying to give a constructive review of the struggles I experienced, and I cannot even get the order number for my own kit. What a disgusting display of a "customer experience" this has been. I was then interested to see if others had this issue. I was met with numerous stories from other users about horrible customer service, constant growing pains, and news stories concerning permanent dental damage from the product. This overall has dissuaded my opinion and experience for this service, and is why I am reconsidering continuing this program. I hope that SmileDirectClub can work to address these issues, and hopefully ensure that other customers don't get the same terrible experience I did.

I do not know that I have an order number as it was not given to me. First, to be a little picky perhaps, the sign on the door said “we are closed” when clearly they were open. Apparently they are short-staffed due to Covid, but only to find this out after I waited about 30 minutes beyond my appointment time. The representatives were very nice, however and that is much appreciated. As many emails and texts I received prior to my appointment, I was excited.. but did not appreciate having to wait so long after my appointment time as I took off from work for an allowed amount of time for this particular appointment and drove almost 40 miles one way to this location for the scan that was supposed to be quick and simple. Overall the experience was pretty good, but then to find out cost and payment plans then be told not sure if they can fully help my bite, which is my foremost concern. Understandable if their services are limited but upfront information would be better.

I was so impressed by my visit to the Flatiron SmileShop. Every element of the experience was so thoughtfully curated-clean, high-tech, modern and almost glamourous. The team was beautiful, friendly and professional. Very compelling. The scan was quick and painless and very cool to see the image progressing on the monitor. Unfortunately I won't be going forward with SmileDirectClub for aligners, but the scanning experience was fantastic and I would recommend to people for whom SDC is a great fit!!!

I accidentally ordered pay in full, for my aligners. The impression kit was easy, everything went smooth. I canceled the order not even 20 minutes after the mistaken payment method. And told them the problem. Apparently there was nothing that could be done except cancel the order and wait 2 TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS. So now my bank account is acquiring late fees until they give me my money back. So all in all I am receiving most likely $100 to $200 in fees if not more, because they simply couldn't just cancel the transaction. So I will definitely now not purchase aligners because of this huge problem. Huge waste of my money and time for nothing.

I liked not having to go into the dentist. And it worked. I read some articles where people said their retainers didn't fit. Because I had braces before, and if you don't wear your retainers, they get tight, so people don't push them in or pull, whatever they need to get the retainer on for it to start working so it will slide on. That might be something SmileDirect should tell people, because I didn't think mine would work either. But you just have to work them until they pop on. Usually, after that first day, they pop in and out. They are a little difficult, but they go in and out for those few hours.
I went two hours a day without wearing my retainer, so I didn't do it before. Today is the longest I've had them off all day. But normally, I still only have them off four or five hours a day just because I know they have to have time to fix your teeth. After you move them like that, you have to have time to see. Since I'm 67, I know it will take longer, so I wear my retainers long. I would recommend SmileDirectClub for the price, and it was easy to do.

I understand the complexities of an open bite and knew there was a possibility that my open bite could not be fixed. However, the ending smile results barely changed the appearance of my teeth now which was disappointing. My dentist will likely have to use invisalign and monitor the bite with extra device attachments. Worth a try to do it through SDC for a much better rate.

I was not expecting, & was VERY surprised/shocked, at the EXTREMELY HIGH PRESSURE sales tactics. I went in expecting to get all my questions answered and leave with the needed information to come home and share with my husband (we had planned to decide which payment route, etc, in which to go, & then to sign up & make the down-payment, possibly that same night, but no later than the next afternoon), all of which I made very clear to both of the ladies (who signed me in & the one who did my actual scan, at the same time, as both were in the room with me while checking in) & I was assured that a lot of people do that (especially when their spouses are unable to make the appointment with the ["potential"] patient or, as in my case, their spouse is also unreachable during the work day, DUE to work).
Therefore I was quite unprepared (& again VERY shocked & surprised!) by the extremely HIGH pressure that was put on me at the end of my appointment to make a decision RIGHT NOW! And I was basically told that if I didn't make a decision & sign up right then & there, that the special offers (such as the $49/mo payment special -which I also found out really is NOT even an actual "special" at all! [It is simply 60 months worth of payments instead of $89/mo for 24 months!] Definitely not something even written in the fine print! [If I'm incorrect in that statement, please SHOW me where I missed that...??] So that was ALSO quite disappointing to say the least-).
AND I seem to also have missed the part about the gift card, whitening kit & entry into the drawing for $1950 worth of free aligners, was ONLY meant for those people who paid the downpayment AT THE APPOINTMENT, as I was made to feel as if not only did I "put out" the girl who did my appt by not signing up right then (because, as she told me SEVERAL TIMES, she did NOT receive "credit nor any commission for 'potential patients' ONLY for those that signed up & made their downpayment AT their appointment. So {she} wouldn't be 'making anything off of me'.")
I did (finally, after asking about it several times, & then finally straight out asking FOR it) receive the 'whitening kit', but nothing was mentioned about being entered into the drawing nor about the gift card, of which I've also not received nor received any information or communication regarding. (But again, if I missed the fine print regarding those 2 things only applying to those who made a down-payment of $250 AT the 3D appointment & started then, please let me know & show me...??)
All that is to say, I (& my husband, after having heard some of the last parts about the commission & credit & such, for HIMSELF, as he was actually on the phone when she again mentioned all of that!) are VERY put-off by that lady, that I'm no longer sure that I even want to get my aligners with SmileDirect (when I was REALLY looking forward to it, & had planned to get started today, Wed January 5 2022 -the day after my appt Tues Jan 4 2022- But after that experience with her, I'm just not sure, mostly because there's no way for me to know if she even gave me any/all correct answers to my specific questions or if she was just doing all she could to "make a sale"...because that is all she made ME feel like I was.).

I finished in mid-December. It was at the sixth week that I noticed a big difference. Everything was excellent. I'm 100% satisfied. However, I'm very disappointed about the customer service. I had two issues, and there was no customer service. Suddenly, when they needed to charge me for the retainers, they appeared.

They have very thoughtfully designed a great process from beginning to end, to create a customer experience that is easy and delightful. Brand and experience is very consistent across all platforms. I’m not a customer yet, but I have confidence in them should I choose to sign up. Learned today of their lifetime guarantee - meaning, free align ERS should my teeth move again - which I Love and know is a great value…this being my 3rd round of braces :-) That’s a great feature in my book and will probably seal the deal. I thought the appointment was great. I wish I had known that I was going to be called in my appointment 30 minutes late. I understand the office gets busy but communication would have been great. I also felt that there was a lot of pressure for me to commit immediately. It is a lot of money to spend at the drop of a hat and I think some people may not be ready to spend 2000$. Other than that, I thought it was a good experience.

Two years ago my dentist suggested that I did the brace because I complained that I just couldn’t clean my teeth completely even using electronic toothbrush. After two years pandemics, this time when I come back to the state to visit my daughter from France which I currently live now, my dentist again urged me to take action. He specifically recommended Invisalign this time, but the price he quoted to me just too high. Then I searched on the web and found the SmileDirectClub. I booked the appointment and was so glad I did. The experience I had was wonderful. It is super easy with the 3D scanner to get the image of the whole set of teeth. The two assistants who worked with me are also super friendly and professional.
All in all, I had a wonderful experience in this clinic. And the most surprising thing is that the price is so affordable and reasonable. I signed the papers with no hesitation. All the aligners will be shipped to me in two to three weeks just in time for my next travel abroad. And best of all, I don’t have to visit the clinic during these treatment period says 4-6 months when I will be in France. Even when I do have problem, I can go to their Paris store. Very helpful and very impressed!

SmileDirect cost a lot less than it would and everything was done over the phone or in the mail. I made my implants and then I brought them the Smile Stretcher they sent me. On Monday, Bruce helped me get pictures. I had to wear the aligners for five months. Now, I'm sleeping in my retainer, and I've been happy with my results.

Was told I would receive $25 for allowing recording on my session in a way that insinuated it would be a Visa gift card but instead it was a $25 gift card for the Smile store on top of a purchase for $75. Also why is it the same price for correcting only the top set of teeth and both sets. I am still interested in getting Smile Direct but I need to have my bonded retainers removed.

Called local number several times the day of my appointment but no answer then called the 800 number and was given the wrong information on pricing and the time I had that the price would be good for. There was a big difference in both. Place was clean and the people very nice. Not sure I want to do this all by myself with no face to face follow ups since this is a 3 to 6 month journey to straighten my teeth. Plus costly.

I wanted to make my teeth a little more even. SmileDirect just scanned it around and made a digital mold then they sent me the dentures in the mail. I had 10 sets and a retainer now and I wore them over the course of 10 weeks. The first set was painful and a little uncomfortable. But I like the results.

We needed to do another round after our initial treatment plan did not give us the results we were hoping for. Fine, however we had to do 3 impression kits, all of which took an incredibly long time to get a response about. We now have been accepted into production and have been waiting for OVER 4 weeks, despite the 3-4 week timeline given. It’s now been 4+ months since we finished our first round and teeth are still no better. It’s been a frustrating experience to hear from any representatives or get responses. We are incredibly disappointed in all of the timeline promises that were never met by SmileDirect.

I had a couple of other friends that used Invisalign. I started looking into it and had a little bit of sticker shock because I didn't have a very severe issue. I just didn't feel good about spending that much money on it. I looked around at some more affordable options and heard some good things from people about SmileDirect. I did some research and then I gave it a try. I did the nighttime plan where I could wear it when I'm asleep and it works really well. It resolved the issues that I had and it really straightened my teeth. I've been wearing my retainers and everything seems to be fine. The instructions are understandable and it's easy to do. The customer service did a few check-ins and I always had a nice experience.

I wanted to close the small gap in my two front teeth. SmileDirect was the easiest thing to get and I've had my retainer from them since October. This process would be great for somebody that had teeth that were a little bit worse than just a gap because it's one price for everybody. I could have gone a cheaper route. Also, the retainers are a little flimsy and could probably be made out of better and thicker material. If I take my retainer out for 30 minutes to eat, I can already feel my gap shifting. Overall, Smiledirect has been good and I would recommend them to other people. It's better compared to Invisalign where you don't know what price you're gonna get.

I did not check the bag before I left as I was in a hurry to get to another appointment since my Smile direct appointment took over an hour and a half between appointments running behind to issues taking pictures of my teeth. I've been super excited about my aligner experience, but am frustrated now. I was told during my consult appointment that I could sign up for nighttime aligners. I did. I received many, many emails and texts confirming and pumping me up about my order, and not one indicated that I would not get nighttime aligners. They indicated that the whole process would take 4 months because not much movement is needed.
I received my box, and noticed that at least the first two aligners directed me to wear them 22 hours per day. I got in touch with customer service to inquire about whether this is how the process starts for all aligners, or if I received all-day aligners rather than the nighttime aligners I signed up for. I was told that I was not approved for nighttime aligners. This is the first time I heard this information. I explained the above and was told that the doctor would be contacted and asked why I did not qualify for nighttime aligners (I have very little movement needed). I explained that if I had been told during my consult or any time before receiving my aligner box that I would have to wear them all day, I would not have purchased, so I felt very fooled. The good news is that I received an email explaining that the doctor has approved me for nighttime aligners and a whole new set is being sent to me.
I don't understand why I wasn't approved for them to begin with, or told that this was the case. I hate that all new aligners need to be made...such a waste of money!!! I am glad that I do qualify for nighttime aligners, but don't understand why I didn't get those to begin with. Until this week, I had been singing SmileDirect's praises to everyone and actually got my sister to sign up as well (she paid in full upfront)....she was also told during the consult that she would be able to get nighttime aligners. I know for a fact that she has more movement needed than I do, that she was told numerous times that nighttime-only aligners were an option, and that she would NOT have purchased if she would have to wear the aligners all day. Her box has been shipped and she is awaiting now. I'm hoping the same thing didn't happen to her!

SmileDirect had a better price and was one of the better options. The process was very smooth and they kept checking in. The virtual calls were very convenient and smooth. You don't have to go in person. They send you the mold and take your measurements in the beginning with the different other molds. You know how they are going and you can just contact them. It was a very simple process. The quality and costs were as good as could be too. I had their all-nighters for eight months and they definitely did what they needed to do. There are still a couple of teeth that aren't exactly where I want them to be but it's better than what I started off with.

Since the moment I walked in the doors I felt very appreciated and that the employees wanted me there and wanted to help all their customers with top notch customer service. The front desk gentleman was very friendly and welcoming. Rainy helped me with my appointment and she is absolutely wonderful, she is one of the nicest and most professional people I have ever met. She was always asking me if I had any questions and made sure I wasn’t uncomfortable during the scans. I really appreciated Rainy and had a really great experience at Smile Direct Club. I left my appointment feeling really excited for my new smile and happy with all the promotions I got from online and also how warm, caring and professional Rainy and the rest of the staff are!

I wanted my teeth straightened and it was cheaper to go through SmileDirectClub than to an orthodontist. The process took four months and I'm done with it now. It was a very easy process. It worked and the cost was good. I'm very happy with my smile.

I would have rated 5 stars if the fact that the Smile shop I visited had no branding on the building been communicated to me. However, the location manager attended to me personally and was able to keep my appointment.

I had gone to a local orthodontist, gotten the consultation and it was gonna be $4,000 or $5,000. I looked into Invisalign and it was around the same price. SmileDirectClub being 1,895 was the biggest thing. I opted to go into one of their shops instead of doing everything at home. Once I got that done, everything was smooth.

The in-person office scan was great but it took months to get my scan results, after emailing customer service to follow up multiple times. I went in for my scan on 10/30 and did not receive my scan results until 12/24 - almost 2 months later. I followed up multiple times and would receive generic responses saying they were looking into my case, but customer service would just go silent again. This has ultimately deterred me from trusting SDC to help with my smile journey. Overall, the process ended up being more frustrating than easy as they advertise.

First off, I was about 15 mins early for my appointment, and a young ** lady, who so happened to be expecting her first child took care of me right away. She was very sociable and we had a great conversation about children while she was setting me up for my imaging. The manager Jose was also very pleasant and assisted with imaging, as well. They both made sure I was comfortable, Jose made sure I didn't forget to take my lip gloss and whitening kit. All in all, it was a great experience. Thank you, Nelson M.

Stay away. Scam. 0 stars. Said they pre-approved with my insurance for 50% reimbursement. Insurance said they were never contacted. There’s an age limit for orthodontia, and I was well passed it. No way someone could have contacted them. Very inconsistent quality in aligners. Some were very thin, not strong enough to apply appropriate force. Some received broken. After two programs (they call it re-touch if the first go around doesn’t work), alignment issue was still not resolved. They also don’t make it widely known on their website, until after you’ve signed up, that you will be expected to wear retainers the rest of your life, and then hammer you to order. Customer service was terrible, outside of the local shop. Wish I could get my money back. Waste of time, and money. Their whitening product is about the only good thing. Their electric toothbrush was rubbish too.

Staff was very friendly. Facility was clean. Everything went exceptionally well. Check in went smooth and the 3D scan didn’t take long at all. I was able to take photos of my impressions once we completed. Will recommend to friends and family.

Updated on 12/28/2021: Smile Direct responded to my Consumer Affairs review stating that they tried contacting me but I have no missed calls or messages. I know they have my information so why lie and state you tried to contact me. Bad business.
Original Review: My daughter is conscientious about her teeth so I am willing to spend +$2,000 to have them straightened. Went and had the scan, signed the agreement on Nov. 19th, and waited, and waited. I never received any correspondence about my pending order so I called on Dec. 27th and was told their product was not able to help my daughter. Disappointed that no one contacted me.

I tried Smile Direct club 2 years ago and was very happy with the results. About 90 days ago I reached out to buy 3 extra retainers. They said they did not have my impressions anymore, and that I had to do them again. So I did. The rep said since it was probably some minor adjustments, it could be included. That was nice to hear! It did take about a month to and a few follow up calls to get some results. Yesterday, I get a link to a new plan with some minor adjustments and a request for $1,900. Not very impressed. I will go elsewhere to have retainers fitted for me.

The aligners that I purchased did not fit and actually caused some temporary gum swelling and irritation. I contacted the company requesting a refund and cancellation. It did take a few days to get any assistance (the week prior to Christmas holidays) and I was very concerned as I'd read so many negative reviews others had had with refunds. That being said, I became a bit irritable and worried when sending my requests. Anna and Elizabeth, however, both responded without any type of negative attitude towards my emails, staying both cordial and professional and they also did what needed to be done for me to receive a refund after verifying receipt of the aligners back in their warehouse. I'm very relieved and hope others have positive results, too, if they need to cancel their purchase within the thirty day guarantee period.

SmileDirect has not followed through on their guarantee to cancel the aligner and refund the money I've already given them. They had assured me a call back or email within three-five business days last week. The box did not have all of the necessary equipment, did not send them when notified of their error two weeks ago. Also, the aligners did not fit-they did not reach all the way to the back of my teeth, dug into my gums, causing irritated and swollen gums.

I received my kit and everything was clearly marked and explained. My top aligners did not fit properly, but I was not overly concerned because my top teeth are straight. I had a conversation with the dental team and they wanted to make a change to the bottom aligners to make sure my bite would be okay!

I was pleased when I completed my regimen with Smile Direct Club. My teeth weren't perfect but so much better than they had been! I just noticed that my retainers did not fit exactly right so I reached out to see if SDC would let me purchase a teeth impression kit so that they could make me new retainers that fit my teeth better. Well, long story short, they said I qualified for an extended plan to get a better result - at no charge!! I have completed the last round of aligners and I'm so happy with the new results!

Communication has been very difficult and frustrating. It started before Thanksgiving and I was about to start my final set (#12) of aligners. I asked if impressions were needed to order retainers, and if further adjustments may be necessary. Due to a combination of poor communication, travel delays, delays with the mail, and missing or bad impressions, it has been 30 days and I still don't know the status if I need more aligners or to order retainers.

I met with Amy in the Lancaster office and I had a lot of questions. She seemed to answer them all completely but was noticeably irritated with my discomfort with giving my credit card before knowing what I was getting exactly and how my smile would look. I also had no idea that I wouldn't be able to discuss the image or the video with an orthodontist. I wanted to be able to understand the correction and how much or how little could be corrected which Amy could not answer. I gave my credit card in the office but after talking with my husband and scheduling another appointment with a local orthodontist I asked to remove my credit card until I could see the correction or know how much or how little could be corrected. She was irritated and every time I called after she removed my card she did not answer her phone or the phone of the office. I have been trying to call for 2 days and have not gotten one person to answer the phone.
The day of my scan before I removed my card I spoke to her 3 times and she answered every single time. Now that she didn't get my money or the commission I feel like I was dropped and treated poorly. All I wanted was to ask someone if it was possible to see a front view of the bottom teeth not the view from above. Since I have an overbite that can only be minimally corrected I cannot see what the front of my bottom teeth would look like. I actually want to move forward but I don't want to have to call a call center when I spent over an hour with a rude associate who blew me off once I removed my credit card. I really would like to speak to the manager.

My experience with Smile Direct has been great. I started with a very friendly person who took the scan of my teeth at the smile shop. She answered all of my questions and make signing up very easy. The actual clear aligners are simple to use and did a great job straightening my teeth. I would recommend Smile Direct to family and friends and anyone else who wants to improve their smile!

The team & associates were great but issue with my smile hasn’t be resolved after the 2nd go round. Eye tooth still not in place, tooth next to it is not straight and the gap created in the middle of my bottom front teeth is still there. I have been wearing my last retainer set still for 18 hrs + per day.
