I have had a terrible time with SmileDirectClub this far. I live overseas on a US military base. I reached out before I even ordered my impression kit to ensure they send to APO/AE boxes. Once they confirmed they did, I ordered. I had to order over the phone since it was not an option online (every phone call I make to the states cost me money).
After I ordered my initial impression kit I waited almost a month before reaching out to see where it was. It had gotten lost and I had to wait for a new one to be sent. I spent so much time either on the phone or online with their chat and most of the time it would end with no solution. After I did my impressions and sent them in I didn’t hear back for almost another month. I had to reach out several times, often with no solution. Now I am scared to even order aligners and spend so much money. I feel like they are just going to get lost in transit. I am beyond frustrated with the time wasted. I was so excited to finally fix my teeth, but now I do not know what to do. I would not recommend this product to anyone stationed overseas.

From start to finish my experience was great! Shea was very informative and very helpful. I was satisfied with everything minus that I have to wait 4 weeks to get started! I did not appreciate the high pressure placed on me by the associate. She demanded that I commit to purchase and pick a payment plan before I had even seen the predicted result! I believe it unreasonable and unprofessional to employ “car salesman“ methods before there is any information about the result Is even available.

Had no problem with it. Very easy. Procedure went quick and smooth. Would do again. The hardest part probably was having to time yourself with the bottom two times and then top two times. Me having small mouth it got difficult to not gag but I managed. I'm looking forward to the results.

Hi. Everything was great with the appointment. In the new smile picture my bottom do not appear to have moved at all. Is there not a plan for that with aligners? The price is supposed to be $1850 with the referral from my friend. It's still $1950 and you never sent me a referral code to enter. Thanks, Ken

Only rating a 2 because it’s been a week and I’m still waiting on a response on what my insurance will cover after being told that I would have a answer after 48-72 hours. Also, when called and spoke with a customer service representative, they were rude and wouldn’t help me.

I was led to believe the aligners would fix my mouth based on the results of others. I canceled my order after learning the aligners would only help my top teeth. False hope given and no answers! I had to wait more than a week for a reply.

The service was AWESOME. Great communication and explaining the service details was very clear. They both answers any question I had and made sure that I understood everything before I left the building. They made me feel extremely comfortable with the scanning process and always asked if I needed a break or if I was ok during the entire time I was there.

It’s been very difficult to get in touch with customer service. I am bombarded by texts and emails but no correspondence I can actually ask questions. I got my 3d image back and have questions on this. The lower front teeth are the ones that I want adjusted and the only teeth moving on the image are the top teeth. I also don’t agree with making people pay for impressions that need to be retaken.

Impression kit was easy to use and instructions were easy to follow. I liked the video and follow up emails. As far as the whole experience so far, the only pain is when you miss a call. Your hold time is always 30 min or more.

While the person that took my impression was very nice, my order was placed incorrectly. I wanted nighttime aligners, but was send the daytime ones. I have made several calls to correct this problem, and keep getting told that someone will return my call in 1 to 3 business days. I’m about to return this whole package and ask for a refund.

One of the people that was working was amazing and very helpful and caring. I believe his name was Stephen but I am not sure. However, the woman who helped me out was trying so hard to sell me that it turned me off from the experience a lot. To try to sell me she even told me it would take a long time for the doctors to even set up my plan and I couldn't be charged until that happened. She said 5 days or maybe longer. I got an email the next day after my appointment saying the doctor had already approved my plan so had I signed up I would have been charged not even 24 hours later not the many, many days she was trying to say would happen. She then said "Oh well you're 3d scan will just expire if you don't sign up now" and I asked how long I had and she said every doctor is different so there was no way to know but I may be wasting my time going there and may have to just go to Raleigh to do a new scan if I don't do it now.
I told her at one point that I was under the impression I could do the scan that day and could pay another day and she responded very snarky "well who told you you could do that?" as if that was not an option. She ended up just walking away from me when she realized I would not pay today and that's where the man came in and told me it was no problem and I could pay when I am ready through customer care and gave me that number as well as saying once I got my email I could order the liners from there. I have worked in sales for 12 years. I know how sales work and I know when someone is being misleading to try to hard sell. She was being so obvious with how she tried to answer her questions in a misleading manner that it truly bothered me and made it to where I could not trust anything she said. On top of that becoming visibly upset when I did not give her my credit card is a problem.

Our Club Members' satisfaction is very important to us, Shelby, and we are always here to help in any way we can. We are quite concerned to hear about this situation and we would like to have a better look into this. Going with SmileDirect was easy. I didn't have to make a bunch of appointments to go someplace. I am now in the retainer stage and I like my smile. SmileDirect worked out really well. I had a little bit of trouble with their website when I had to upload photos though. It never worked right. There were some technology problems in regards to that.

I felt Like they didn’t really care I’ve been wanting to straighten my teeth since I was A child. It was very personal for me and they kept forcing me to sign up that day. I always have to compare companies to others and see what I like Best. There are other aligner companies out there I would Gladly pay to help fix my teeth. They didn’t seem to understand that I had Options and they were pretty much in the hot seat and failed. I felt Uncomfortable. I was Even promised a $25 dollar gift card to record me of which she didn’t specify where, I just assumed it was a visa gift card. So that was shady and I was Advised I get A free toothbrush and that was a lie. All of these things just make me think that if I had A problem in the future with my retainers, I wouldn't Get any help since y’all have my money already. I want to feel like I’m being helped, not robbed.

The first kit I received was missing purple putty and had extra gray. I contacted customer service, they were helpful and sent me a new kit. I was told to send both kits back which I did. I received a status update saying they were received that doctors a reviewing my impressions. I heard nothing for a couple weeks so I checked the status with customer service again and was told only the incomplete kit was received and I would have to make another. So they sent me another kit, I returned it and am waiting for the next steps. Also I was supposed to get a whitening kit when I returned the impressions and the code I received to get that kit did not work as stated in that email. Seems disorganized and I am concerned about the quality of care I am receiving. Customer service was helpful enough to get an extra star but I shouldn’t have had to contact them in the first place.

Aligner one was great, but aligner two was kind of big for my teeth side for the fitness. I was not satisfied at the time. I got to aligner four and I complained because I didn't see any progress. I had to go to the downtown Chicago office for the teeth scanning and they said they were a little inch bigger for the teeth side. I had to wear aligner four for a whole month until I received the new aligner. Once I received the new aligner set, I had to start over from aligner one and it's been doing good. But with aligner 14, I'm having that same problem. It's not fitting properly. Now, I'm wearing 15 and noticed that I got an order of my retainers which I wear at nighttime. SmileDirect actually worked. In a million years, I didn't think anything can get the job done with the solution of how I wanted my teeth to look. SmileDirect is a great option plus the budget is very affordable compared to a lot of other networks.

My Smileguide person was pretty cool. Her name was Tanya. We got some free items after the appointment, and I think that if you do it in person it is easier to make an aligner. So to sum it up my visit was cool and the lady was nice.

Very very cool. The clinic in Beverly Hills had a clean and innovative vibe to it. It does not have that traditional dentist kind of vibe. I felt comfortable throughout the entire experience. When I made an appointment there, Eric was taking care of me and he was was fantastic.

I had a great experience. Gio was my smile guy and he was super informative and gentle with my scan. Everyone answered my questions but I left a little confused about billing. I'll have to call billing support and hope that everything goes smoothly.

We were very happy with our visit and excited about the option for night time. However, it’s clearly about the money. I was told I would be notified if my son didn’t qualify for night time Aligners before any money was taken from my account. I woke up this morning less 24 hours after our appt and you have taken the $250 and I have no idea what’s the plan. I just called the office and they said that could happen and that he wasn’t qualified for night time. And now I have to call another phone number to get the refund.

Today I had my first visit at Smile Direct. Before arriving I didn’t really know what to expect, and I was a little worried about a long visit. Brooke and the technician were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and efficient with time. Got me set up and awaiting review to get started on my Invisalign journey through Smile Direct Club! Keep them in mind while shopping through orthodontic treatment! I cannot wait to see my smile at the end of treatment! The review takes 3/5 days and I should get my retainers a few weeks later! And the cool thing is you can do this from the comfort of your own home!

An extremely easy case to perform and they did it wrong. This treatment shows that not only the person who aligns but also the GP who accepts the case is doing their job poorly. If I had personally aligned my treatment, I would have done it excellently. Do not forget all the protocols for the next time, you didn’t expand posterior as it should be, leaving Quadrant II and III open in chin up view.

I had a good experience but my only bone to pick was that I was offered all of these free goodies and after my scan I was given none. And when I asked about it the lady said I will get an email. Never got one.

I liked the price and the speed with SmileDirect. It was also very easy. Just follow the directions. I had to do a reassessment but now, I'm done. I love my new smile. SmileDirect has great customer service and they were able to fix what I didn’t like when it was done. I didn’t have to spend more money.

SmileDirect is way cheaper than Invisalign. I had a little difficulty with the fitting at times, but nothing so much that it wouldn’t move the teeth how they were supposed to move. I am finished with my aligners and now I'm on a retainer. It would be nice to interact a little bit more with someone but they are always available with a live chat. If anybody needs to reach out, it's pretty much on them to seek the help that they need or answer questions. I made use of the commonly asked questions on the app, and it kind of assuaged some of my fears about it happening right or going how it should.
The experience was a little overwhelming and scary because unlike Invisalign where they say you have to meet with an actual dentist every so often to make sure you're still on track, you don't get that with SmileDirectClub. You just have to trust in the process and hope it's working out. What I would have liked a little bit more of was some pictures that it was okay.

At this point, I have attempted to reach customer service about 10 times and sat on hold for a total of probably 4-5 hours. I received NOT what I ordered, and instead received the 22 hour wear. I would never have ordered the 22 hour wear. I have been told I would receive calls back that never happen. I can't even get in touch with my local location. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I would like a refund.

The people at the location during the scan were GREAT, however problem occurred after the scan. They charged me $200 more than stated at the appointment and when I called to discuss with them they were not willing to help and hung up on me. I called back and they would not answer. Called the 1-800 number to get things resolved and they were great.

After doing my impressions I was given my 3D plan. It was quickly obvious that only my top teeth would change. After questioning this in an online chat I was told they couldn’t do anything for my bottom teeth. What bothered me was the cost would be the same for only doing the top. When I complained about that I was offered $150 off. I don’t expect it to be half price but $150 off is nothing considering I would only be using half of the aligners.

I was greeted immediately upon entering. A friendly staff member instructed me on how to sign in to my appointment and offered me an iPad to fill out account information. My appointment was at 10am and I was seen at 10:03, so the wait time was very minimal. Then Brennia took me to a private room to inform me of what we would be doing today and the coming weeks after I receive my aligners. The entire visit took maybe 20 minutes, and I will definitely be recommending this experience to friends and family.

I went in. Had my teeth scanned. Typed in my insurance information. Was told I would get both liners too and bottom. Paid 250.00 for the set so I could have a nice smile. Was told I could only get the uppers and still had to pay 2000 for just a top liner and cancelled the order. This company made me feel like I don’t deserve to have nice teeth even though I am the one paying.

After I sent my impressions, I called a dozen times trying to move forward with treatment. I have not heard anything after all those calls. Very disappointed. Each call resulted in someone saying that I would move forward and I never heard back.

Made out to be a solution for those who need to straight their teeth. Show people with way more severe teeth than mine and I GET DENIED! You want me to pay $2000 for 60 days as per your letter! Really!? I ask for a second opinion and guess who NEVER got one!! I crossovers hard when I was told you couldn’t do my bottom teeth. I have wanted this so badly and I get no explanation and dismissed!!! Thanks for literally nothing.

My wife and I did our 3D scan in Honolulu. Ashley and Janet were extremely friendly and made our whole time there pleasant. The 3D scan was fast and much easier than using the impression kit. I would highly recommend doing your 3D scan there.

Since I can't get through on the phone, nobody is calling me back and emailing has proven to be one of the most frustrating experiences of my life I will leave this review and hope that someone finally gets back to me. 1. I began this process in November 2021, ordered myself an impression kit and sent it in. 2. Not long after I ordered another impression kit for my daughter, which somehow was added to my account and classified at SDC as a "touch up" impression kit for myself. 3. After numerous phone calls and emails to fix the problem, I ended up having to order another impression kit for my daughter which she had to do for the second time.
7. So now I will have 2 sets of aligners for my daughter and NONE for myself, 3.5 months after this I began this process.
8. I have spent countless hours on hold on the phone trying to tell SDC to cancel the second order for my daughter. But I can't get through, so what are my options? Somebody other than customer support needs to call me. I am beyond frustrated and ready to cancel everything. How can you accept my money and not come through with the product I ordered, and not even be able to provide the customer support needed? This company is borderline criminal.

My consultant was very nice and informative. However, I did not like that my credit card number was obtained immediately at the 3D scanning without much time to allow me to think about the whole process and costs. After I got an email that the dentist approved my scans and treatment a few days later, I was charged right away without me agreeing to the treatment plan. I felt this was too pushy and it is important to give your customers adequate time to think about a $2000 investment that potentially has serious risks.

Otavio is amazing. Very knowledgeable, professional, and answered all my questions and concerns without having to ask. Also Melissa the manager was very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately Smile Direct isn't able to proceed with my situation however the experience to attempt was fantastic and I recommend anyone to at least go for the consultation and look at options especially when it's half the cost.

I just signed up with SmileDirectClub and go in for a consultation where they scan. Once I had the scan, it was a bit of time before I got my aligners. And I would switch them out. Everything was mailed to me directly. It was convenient. My teeth started moving towards the alignment within a month. They gradually all came together.
There were some issues with the aligners and I had to be rescanned. Then with COVID and their offices shut down, so it wasn't until they reopened that I was able to get back in to get a good official scan by them. So it took longer than expected. But once the new aligners were shipped out, then the progress continued and finished up. They were good, very responsive, got it taken care of.

I visited the SmileShop in Farmington Hills multiple times to get the best results, and I have been thrilled by the customer service and also the results of my smile journey. The retainers arrived much sooner than I anticipated (within a few weeks), I was able to track and see my treatment, and my HSA helped cover the expense. The 3D scan might be the best part. I have done Invisalign in the past as well, and the experience is terrible getting the impressions. It is so uncomfortable, especially the pictures they make you take with a huge mirror in your mouth. SDC did not have any of that, just a few non invasive pictures, and then the 3D scan rather than the impressions holding goo in your mouth. I now have a confident smile and am so happy that I did SDC

When I first googled Smile Direct Club to see if they fix overbite it said yes and now that they created my 3d plan they said that they don't. I only need aligners for my upper part and I even have to pay the same amount. Horrible.

While we've helped some of our Club members with their bite issues in the past, it isn't something we specialize in. We always evaluate our Club members' smiles to see if SmileDirectClub aligners are right for them. Once the state-licensed dentist or orthodontist overseeing their case has approved their new smile, we'll then create an interactive 3D video showing our Club members their projected movement, month by month, allowing them to see their future smile before they even order their aligners.
Additionally, all of our treatment plans have the same costs involved, regardless of treatment length or complexity. These include remote orthodontic assessment, impression capture and digitization, lab setup fees, and remote monitoring during treatment. The aligners themselves are only one part of the full smile journey, which is why we charge a flat rate for them. In order for us to further assist, I will be reaching out via private message.

I was told that I would need to order a retainer is $99. every 7 months for rest of my life. I later had a question about this then was told as needed. Maybe I misunderstood? It was my understanding that I would get a $25. VISA card after completing scan. Someone came in then said I would receive a different amount. Found out it would be sent in an email and I haven't received it, yet. I put in a code before booking an appointment thinking I would receive an electric toothbrush, 2 tubes of toothpaste, and a whitening pen (I did receive the pen while there and lip balm, thank you). Then was told I could order online and put in my code and would be credited but I could not find the toothbrush but only the paste and code did not work. I also heard what sounded like pictures being taken when I took out my credit card which I did not appreciate. Now I'm worried that I might have made a mistake by ordering the liners.

Hi Joy, we're concerned to see this rating. We would like to mention that just like traditional orthodontics, it's important to wear a retainer regularly to ensure that a brand new smile doesn't shift. We suggest wearing our retainers 24/7 for three weeks, just like our normal aligners. After that, they'll only have to be worn at night. We also recommend that our Club members switch out their retainers every 6 months to ensure they're always wearing a clean and fresh set. I cancelled my order as I was not given the opportunity to review the payment options and my account was charged $1950 which resulted in overdraft fees and my credit possibly being affected. I was going to put it on a different card and choose the monthly payment plan. The next day I get an “offer” from you for $44 per month for the monthly payment plan instead of $89. Sorry but this has not been a good experience.

The process itself has been very easy and I have had no problems. I was able to return my molds with ease and appreciate the communication regarding the steps of the process. However, the follow up since my aligners have been ready has been insufferable. I have received phone calls and emails and texts. It is very much overkill and frankly it is annoying. I intend to order my aligners, but if there is no reason for me to feel there is a deadline I do not understand the incessant contact. The calls were most often during my work day, when I am not taking personal calls. An option to minimize this contact should be made. I do not wish to be reminded so often that I need to place my order. I will when I am ready.

I was late because I drive an hour to get to my appointment and traffic was bad, I called the customer service to let them know I’m late and the lady at the phone literally told me to go back home and was not helpful at all. (She was from the sdc call line.) She was like “well they have another appointment after you if you are late you have to go back home” and bring a busy mom that have barely no time for deal with this kind of appointments was pretty infuriating. I went anyway and once I arrived at the office I was greeted by some awesome staff that help me and was very nice and cordial. They were very nice and patience. Nadine did my appointment and she was very kind and explained everything and answered my questions.

I went in for my first appointment where Ashley greeted me with water. She was so sweet and bubbly. She kept me and my 3-year-old entertained while Janet set up for my appointment. They had an area set up for my daughter in the exam room which had colors and a coloring book. Janet explained each set for me and showed me each thing I would be receiving and how to use it. Even though I ordered my kit and sent it back prior to cutoff, your customer service team is denying me the discounted promotional rate of $49 per month, that YOU emailed me about. Not sure I’ll be getting them at all now.

I used the promo code when I ordered the impressions kit. I have not gotten my $15 rebate and have not heard a word about the 6 months of free whitening. Until I do, I won’t be able to make a decision on ordering my aligners.

Wow what an incredible experience! All the staff is excellent especially Nate! I can’t wait to start my program. I had all my questions answered, learned a lot about the process and got to experience the really cool 3D imaging. I felt great when I left. Would definitely recommend.

SmileDirect is flexible and I like it. I don't have to drive anywhere. You just deal with them on the phone and it's better. They are courteous too. They are on time and do everything that they say they’re supposed to do. The first time, it's hard to use if you don't know. But once you understand how the steps work, then it's easy. You push it in from the front then work your way around and get it in. The first time though, they gave me the wrong prescription. Also, I'm still hoping that this is going to work better because I don't think the thing is extended long enough to reach the back of my teeth. The back is not fitting right so my teeth are out of place. Even though it looks good, it doesn't feel right so I can't grind right. SmileDirect needs to do better with the impression. When they did the impression, they didn't do the cut right. When I chew, it’s not in place.

I was greeted upon arrival at the location by the associate that helped take my scan. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to address any question that I had and laid out the whole process very clearly. Scan was simple and I was out of the office in no time. I look forward to the rest of the process!

I truly had no intent of committing today, however Dom was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and kind. He absolutely made the difference in my experience and I would refer people to him specifically. I think if it wouldn’t have been for Dom I wouldn’t have felt comfortable moving forward. I had to come into the office to get my teeth scanned because I did not complete the impression kit correctly. The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and welcoming. He was thorough in his explanations and made sure that I was following along and had all the information I needed as far as the process and the next steps. He made me feel very comfortable.

The whole process was amazing, from the email communication to come in for the scan to actually getting the scan done to the communication afterwards. I found the machine used to scan my teeth extremely advanced; showed me how much technology has grown over the years. Miranda who conducted my scan was amazing. She was very accommodating, left no room for any awkwardness, held conversation well and explained how everything works clearly.

My Initial visit at Smile Direct was positive. Jose’ was professional, friendly and efficient. The 3-D imaging And the exclamation of the process took approximately 30 minutes. I recommend the Smile Direct Club.

I got my impression kit very late. It hurt my mouth to do the impressions, and the cost of nearly $3,000 is way to expensive for a 4-6 month treatment. The staff who I have had to deal with were not very nice and not helpful at all. I will be going with the company alignerco who is responsible price and they include your retainer.
