I couldn't afford traditional braces so SmileDirect was my next best alternative if I wanted to have a decent smile. Working with them was challenging at times. It was a learning curve. But I knew that there were going to be challenges along the way and I was willing to work with SmileDirect and work with the challenges to get to my end goal. I had two different aligners. After my first 16 weeks ended, I had an extension to get them better. I recently started using my retainers. They fit perfectly but when I'm without them, my teeth don't sit at a very comfortable angle of each other. The only thing right now that kind of bothers me is how my overall mouth sits which is a little bit uncomfortably. But I got what I wanted and if you're somebody who doesn't have the income to go with traditional braces, I would recommend SmileDirect. If your end goal is to get your teeth straight, this is a very good way to go about it.

The personnel in the facility is very polite and they are really customer oriented. It did not take too much time for the scans. Anam was the person who explained me in detail everything. She was kind.

I have a front teeth separation and it was repaired by SmileDirectClub. The process was very good for me. In two months, we could see the changes in my teeth. I'm so happy.

My experience with SmileDirect was not at all what I expected. I expected to be treated like a patient in need of dental care but was instead treated like a consumer. It felt exactly like buying a car. They were extremely pushy to sell their product even after the revelation that my insurance would not cover the product. Major turnoff.

I arrived at the very noisy Beverly Hills location after a 45 minute drive (locations closer to my home were closed due to the pandemic) to find absolutely no one working behind the front desk to check me in for my appointment. After standing there for about 10 minutes, I flagged a woman down. I think her name was Kathy. After checking me in, she told me they were running behind and it would be another 30 minutes before they'd see me. She offered no apology, just a very terse "It'll be 30 minutes or we can reschedule." I told her I drove 45 minutes to be there. Again she said very curtly "It'll be 30 minutes" as if being allowed to wait for my scheduled appointment was doing me a huge favor. I asked for the manager and was told "The manager is in Riverside." I said I'd wait and she promptly turned around to return to the back leaving no one at the front desk.
I actually called the 800 number to complain about the treatment I received when attempting to check in. After another 10 minutes of no employees coming out to the lobby, I started to record the abandoned front desk curious how long it would be before someone appeared thinking a manager would appreciate knowing about the utter lack of customer attention in the lobby. After another 15 minutes, Yanet appeared, asked if I was recording and told me promptly to stop. I told Yanet I couldn't believe how long customers were waiting for an employee to show up. Yanet said they were very busy, someone was at lunch and that it would be another few minutes to set up a room for my appointment....40+ minutes after my confirmed appointment time. (BTW, after making the appointment, I received about three emails and two texts reminding me of my appointment.)
Yanet is very nice. However, I could hear other employees following the exact same script or "pitch" in other rooms. It seemed as if she has gone through this same spiel to so many people, she was on autopilot. And when it came to presenting the payment options - before even seeing my treatment plan, I felt like I was getting talked into buying a used car before even seeing the car. I'm amazed these types of sales tactics are effective.
Once I received the 3D scan email days later, I could barely see any difference between the before and after. In fact, the before made my smile look better than it actually is. In the scan, you can't even see the small spaces between my incisors and canines I'm looking to correct. It left me curious if the teeth in the scan are actually mine. Even the email I received asking me to leave this review said "We hope you had a great experience at our Downey-firestone-blvd SmileShop." Ummm. I've never been to "Downey-firestone-blvd." This entire experience seemed like a cheesy "scheme" with very little attention paid specifically on my individual needs and wants and rather fitting me into their proven tactics that they've found close the most deals. In my experience, SmileDirect's focus was clearly on SmileDirect; SmileDirect's bottom line and SmileDirect's stockholders. It certainly wasn't about me.

Very positive for the most part. I completed all my aligners but my teeth are not quite straight. I sent in new molds and pics and have been waiting on the next step. I get a bit worried when I get correspondence that makes it look like I am starting from the beginning.

I completed 4 months of daily aligner wear and am not satisfied with the outcome. My bottom teeth are not aligned and I now have tiny gaps between my 4 front teeth. I submitted a 2nd set of photos and impressions over a month ago and have not received the aligners as of today. I have emailed, texted and chatted with your support team but no one can give me a straight answer as to why it is taking so long. I am quite unhappy with your after-care service at this point and do need an answer as to when I can expect to receive the touch up kit. Please respond.

I submitted my impressions on April 15th. That was a month and 5 days ago. I still don't have an order number, and I just got an email on 5/16 saying "Pamela, our dental team has reviewed and approved your impressions – nice job on those!... We’ll let you know once we start making your clear aligners within the next 5-7 days." SO it'll be another week until I hear from you about my aligners. I leave town on June 6th, just hope I get them by then! Everything has been fine, but wow. Really slow.

Charged incorrectly on initial fee and had to request refund. Provided a different credit card on form when we sent back impressions kit to charge $1950 in full. You didn’t charge the credit card on the form and instead charged my debit card which withdrew $1950 from my checking account causing my account to be withdrawn and a domino effect of overdrafts. I am not extremely concerned we will have more issues with the aligners, if these issues are any indication of what’s to come. So far I would not recommend your company and we haven’t even received the aligners. This initial process takes a long time.

My 3D scan appointment was May 3rd 2021. It went well however I have not received a price, a treatment plan, or any follow-up information. I received fictitious emails about an appointment on May 10th, wish I did not schedule. And it appears that the process started over without my knowledge. I expected to have my aligners by now, but have not received any further information.

I did have constant communication but the photos being found were difficult for your folks and it's just taken a very long time even though I was warned by you that you were backlogged. Now I hear it will be another 4-5 weeks? :/ I'm still moving forward with you but it's just disappointing once you commit in your mind to such a large financial obligation after many years of living as a snaggle tooth after wearing traditional braces for 2 1/2 years. :(

I had high hopes for these aligners as my bottom teeth have been crooked for years. Unfortunately, when I reviewed the alignment process over the next 4 months they were going to do no improvements on my bottom teeth. Sadly, this was the whole reason that I was interested. I will not be purchasing the aligners. Thank you anyway.

The process with the retainers was fine. The hard part was getting them in my mouth, for each new aligner, each new tray. It's sort of tricky and difficult. Also, there was a concern with my bite so I emailed SmileDirect and they got me in for another scan and sent me new retainers. That term ended but I still felt like my bite was a little off. I emailed them again and they asked me to send pictures. This time, they said it was fixed right. I'm living with it right now. Sometimes, I feel like I should get another scan but sometimes, I feel like maybe this is what it is.
Other than that, the results are good. There was a gap in my back teeth and whenever I ate, even something like an apple, it would get stuck in there. It was annoying and then, come COVID, it was really bad for me to be sticking my fingers in my mouth. After using Byte, it's better. During the day when I eat or have a snack, I don't feel like I need a toothpick or I have to put my finger in my mouth.

My experience has been very great as far as customer service goes. They were all so friendly. However I am not going to do it because I think it’s unfair that I pay the same price as someone who needs aligners on top and bottom. I would only need them on top. And I told already had braces as a child and just had 2 teeth move from not wearing my retainer. So I wouldn’t need aligners long at all. I think the price should be based on how long you need them or based on only needed top or bottom or both. I don’t want to pay roughly 2,000 for minimal work needed.

We understand your concern about the single arch plan, the reason why all of our treatment plans have the same costs involved, regardless of treatment length or complexity, it's because these include remote orthodontic assessment, impression capture and digitization, lab setup fees, and remote monitoring during treatment. The aligners themselves are only one part of the full smile journey, which is why we charge a flat rate for them. My lower anteriors started shifting and the laterals were tilting inward. I knew that would cause gum disease. So I wanted them straight. I told my regular dentist the problem and I was thinking about doing the multiple retainer things. He said, "No. I'll give you two names of orthodontists and you should really see those." But I didn't take his advice. I went with SmileDirect. The "Smile" sounded happy to me and I didn't want braces again. I decided I'd give the Invisalign type thing a shot. It was absolutely amazing. I cannot believe that it did what it advertised it's doing. I was absolutely positively amazed that it worked. It didn't hurt. There were no spaces, no bands and no archwires. I am very happy. I have a friend and he's already signed up because he was just amazed.

My visit was great! They answered all my questions. When I got home, my husband asked me if I used my insurance to pay for a portion. I didn't know it would cover some. I tried to call, but the wait on the phone was 30+ minutes. I also do not know my order number, where should that be? I didn't receive a receipt, I assumed it would be in my email. Could someone call me please so I don't have to wait on the phone to get answers to my questions. Thank you.

I have not had a good experience. I ordered my kit. Two days later went to my 3-D imaging and here it is six weeks later after turning in my kit and I have received three text saying that you never received my photos. I’ve talked to your real life chat and two accounts were created. Two different accounts were created and I’ve been waiting now six weeks for mine clear aligners and it’s aggravating. I had all my ** together. You have my credit card. I attended the 3-D scan. I emailed you the photos. I have called. I have chatted with the live chat online on the website.

The retainers were fine, at first cut up my gums but after I trimmed and filed down they were ok. I requested a touch up at the end because I still have a slight overbite, which is included with the plan. It said 5-7 days, then got an email two days later that said there's a delay and will be there in 10 days. It been over 10 days and when I contacted customer service it said it can take up to 4-5 weeks to make and ship?! I've been wearing my last retainer for almost a month, and they're getting a little gross. I can't imagine wearing it for another month. By the way, I'm never able to reach someone on the phone, just chat online. It's been a little frustrating.

I've been a SDC customer for over two years, I finally felt the need to write a review. Although their aligners do straighten your teeth, the level of straightening is far less than advertised. However, the most maddening thing about SDC is they ALWAYS miss their deadlines/timelines. If a representative tells you it will be 3-5 business days, expect it to be 10-20 business days. Also they do not communicate with you, if you do not reach out to their customer service line... they will never reach out to you and give you an update. I am writing this review because I've had qualms with SDC since paying them $2K to straighten my top teeth, however a recent experience put me over the top.
I have completed "treatment" and have to wear a nightly retainer, roughly 6 weeks ago I placed an order for a new retainer and PAID for said retainer (expected delivery time 2-3 weeks). Three weeks after ordering said retainer, nothing had arrived in the mail and I called customer service to check on the status of my retainer. Customer service told me they'd canceled my retainer order... when I asked them why, they didn't have a reason. I proceeded to check my inbox to see if SDC ever notified me that my order had been canceled, they did not. But here is the kicker, SmileDirectClub also held onto my payment and said a refund would take up to 10 business days. I would HIGHLY recommend going with any other clear aligner company, no way are they less organized than SDC.

My impressions were received on April 12; I’ve yet to receive my aligners, as of May 12. I have emailed, called twice and been told I would receive them within 24-48 hours...still nothing. One rep said he would call me back with info, nothing. A friend recommended SmileDirect, but I have been hugely disappointed. I am days away from canceling my order and posting negative reviews. Very disappointing.

Everything was great until they debited my card $250. The whole time no one advised me of a $250 deposit to start the monthly payments, was really upset, because had someone told me I would have been prepared for that! They definitely need to do better with communication!

I had a great experience at the Walnut St. location in Philly. The technician Sherria was so friendly and knowledgeable and the receptionist was very welcoming. I’m glad I went in for the consultation instead of ordering an impression kit. Also good to know that this company provides great in person service on top of all the good reviews I’ve found online.

After trying (and failing miserably) to submit my impressions, I decided the 3D scan was the way to go. Best decision HANDS DOWN! It was so easy to do & you get to see your pictures in real time on the screen while you get your scan done. Also, your SmileGuide goes over all the details of your package so you know what to expect before it arrives. I was super happy with the results and cannot wait to start my road to a new smile!

I did the impressions & sent back. For 19 days they said they had everything and my 3D plans would be ready in 72 hours. Three times I talked with customer service. Not until after I said I wanted to cancel it all did my plan show up. They didn’t cancel it, obviously. I’m not paying $2000 for a medical product and this kind of disorganized operation, so bad it started to feel like a scam. It’s very disappointing. I was really looking forward to straightening my teeth and now it’s back to square one.

My experience with the scan was great. However, the outcome of what was offered was not what I wanted. My mouth is just too messed up for SmileDirectClub. So instead of putting money into a minimal fix. I’d rather put it toward a greater solution. I appreciate the time????

After 4 months of wearing the product provided very little noticeable difference can be seen in my bottom teeth. A second set, I'm being told, is in production to correct the problem, but instead of receiving an email to that effect, I receive this survey. A notification of how long it is estimated that the second set of retainers will take to correct the problem would be helpful.

The standard is that SmileDirectClub tries to get your teeth aligned in eight months. However, even though I followed the instruction, when I was done my program, my teeth weren't what they pictured to be at first. I had to take some more pictures and show them that they weren't completely aligned yet that they're probably still moving. I don’t know if they're trying to fit everybody into the eight-month program initially or is there a way that they can find out how long it's really going to take. Going in there, you kind of think, "Okay, eight months and I'm done." But it was a little bit longer because I had to go back and get the additional trays. I'm not completely satisfied yet but they handled it well. Whenever I sent an email, somebody got back to me.

The impression kits were easy for the most part, although the trays were a bit big for my mouth. They arrived quickly and I sent them in the next day and began the wait. However, at this point it has been 2 months and I have yet to hear from anyone regarding my impressions or my aligners. My account says “please wait 3 business days...”etc, and it’s been like that for weeks. If this is standard, I’m not sure how business continues. I’m now considering a different company for my aligners. Started off strong but highly disappointed.

If you are looking to improve your smile, SmileDirect is the company to go with. I've had a good experience all the way around. The appointment was no fuss. I went in and got the scans done. Then, getting the retainers didn't take that long and when they came, I was ready to pop them in. I followed the directions and for the most part, I’ve gotten a good result. In the first month, I could see the change in my overbite and the correction at the bottom where they were starting to move. By the end of it, I could see the significant changes but more needed to be done for the bottom one. I followed up but they weren't able to read the last impressions I did so I'm waiting on a new kit to come to redo those.

I was greeted warmly for my 2nd scan when the 1st aligner treatment plan didn't quite finish straightening my teeth. Then they took extra care to catch the images of the 2 teeth that needed more work & let me take pics of the images with my camera.

I was a little skeptical at first because of the cost. When I had spoken with my doctor, he told me it was 5,500 for Invisalign and we paid roughly 6,000 for my daughter. Somebody told me that SmileDirect was a bit cheaper and I was like, “No way. It's gotta be a scam.” Smile Direct is over the counter but I found out I could actually go somewhere and there was a licensed orthodontist overseeing the treatment. So I thought, “What the heck? I got nothing to lose. At least go for the consultation and see what they have to say.”
So because we missed a payment, they didn't send out the corrective liners. But, it's on its way.
The results for my teeth on top are amazing. For the bottom one, we were going to have some issues because one of the teeth was almost sideways. That was what was giving SmileDirect a hard time. The tooth didn't turn quite as fast as we were hoping but it's far better than it was. The pain has resolved too. It looks 89% better in that short period of time so I'm very happy.

I had no problems until the end of my treatment when I needed refinements. They seem much more concerned with gaining new customers than helping if you need refinements once you've already started paying for treatments. I have been stuck with the last set for weeks and I still do not have my new aligners. The last I heard, they were delayed up to 7 more days and that was a week ago. Totally unhappy at this point and wishing I had just gone to an orthodontist office.

SmileDirectClub is not as expensive as the other companies and I can pay instantly for it. The results were nice and good. All the spaces are closed and my teeth is straight. SmileDirectClub is worth it.

This company's customer service is straight trash. I asked for adjustments for my aligners and submitted pictures. I was ignored by the customer service and doctor for 2 months. When I asked for the guaranteed pro-rated refund as seen on their website to a customer service agent, he ignored me as well and decided it would be cute to close out the help ticket instead without assisting me. I just love how the doctor and customer service ignored me. That was so sweet of you guys. It's not like it's my teeth or anything. Worthless trash.

They fixed some significant gaps between my canines. I’m still in process and I'm waiting for a realignment. But so far, it's been everything that I expected. I've always gotten very pleasant people when I've called, and it's never been a long wait. All my questions have always been answered. I've had a really positive experience, overall.

I'm very satisfied. The impressions weren't hard to make and didn't need to get a new kit. I love the 3D view on my screen of being able to know ahead of time how it's going to look. Not to mention it looks exactly like my teeth. They got it copied over good. I got my money back in the rebate. Very simple, very quick, and can't wait to continue the journey. Hard not to love.

I have been a patient with Smile Direct Club for 15 months now. Upon starting I did not need to make major changes. I only wished to close a few gaps in my front teeth. I was originally told my "smile plan" would take 4 months. I am now about to do my 5th reevaluation, because my gaps are still not closing. Their technology is faulty and DOES NOT WORK. I saw zero progress in my last treatment plan. After I first started my dentist became concerned with how my bite was changing and how there was a new possibility that my front teeth might chip while chewing. When I brought up these concerns to the smile direct dental team they reported they were working on my gaps--not my bite.
I'm starting to believe it's not possible to actually speak with the dentist. I've tried numerous times and have instead been called by someone on my "dental team". The person I talk to clearly has never reviewed my file and I have to reexplain my situation every time. In an email thread it is clear that a new person responds with each email and does not read the prior emails. The last time I called to schedule a phone call with the dentist I was hung up on.
I've been to the smile shop 3 times and it has always been a different person who does the scan. Now I'm stuck, because I can't afford to cut ties and pay another $3000 to do clear aligners through my dentist. PLEASE SAVE YOUSELF the heartache, disappointment, and cash! Do clear aligners through your dentist or a REAL ORTHADONTIST instead. It might cost a little more, but will probably take half the time, and you won't have to repair chipped teeth down the line.

I finished all my aligners and I have my retainer now. Everything is fine so far. But I still have one teeth that didn't turn yet and I'm watching it within a couple more weeks. If it doesn't turn within another two months, then I go back to the branch in Newark. The customer service team is wonderful. I can always call and speak to someone.

I had an average experience with SmileDirectClub. I pursued this route because the Invisalign seemed to be a bit more expensive and I didn't think my teeth were that bad. I felt that my experience was very superficial and wasn't really happy with the customer service, I had a lot of issues over the phone when I had to call for a different size impression tray, and when I called to ask about parking for a Smile Shop location.
After getting my 3D scan I decided to sleuth on Reddit and Instagram for honest reviews and was surprised to see that Smile Direct Club doesn't really do what's right for your teeth in regards to correcting your smile. They don't touch the molars or the bite, and they really only change the front six teeth on the top and bottom. I found this alarming and decided to cancel on my commitment before I even received the results of my 3D scan. I was disappointed to learn that a licensed dentist approves the scans, not even an orthodontist. Dentists doesn't really have anything to do with straightening teeth so I'm glad I caught these red flags.

When I ordered my impression kit, I had no idea how SD would become such a important, and exciting partner. SD was with me every step of the way, and provided regular and MEANINGFUL contact with me nearly daily. Totally unexpected. I signed up for Smile Direct at the beginning of the pandemic. The impression kit came. I took the pictures and sent in the impressions. The aligners came in as expected. The only problem I had with my teeth was some shifting on the bottom. At the end of the aligners, my bottom teeth were still not straight. The two teeth in the middle were still protruding from the others. I paid forty dollars for another impression kit and took the pictures. It took me longer than the first time because I had COVID after I sent the aligners, and couldn't ask anyone to help me with pictures for two weeks. I sent everything off. My homepage at their company stated that they had received everything and the aligners were being made. My homepage still has this message on it.
After a couple of months, I reached out. They said they didn't have my impressions and wanted another $40 and more pictures. I began then saying I wanted out. I have begged since at least December to please cancel my account. I do not expect a refund, but I don't want to continue to pay. They continue to bill me. I complained with the Better Business Bureau. Their reply was that they would cancel with more pictures. I did not have the smile stretcher. My dentist office took pictures, and I sent them to Smile Direct. Again, I took a while. I am a special education teacher doing virtual and in person learning. I am stretched to the max. They sent me a rude message saying that they were looking forward to more pictures to continue with cancellation. I have begged them to stop billing me. It came out again today. I have contacted the better business bureau again. My bank says that I will have to cancel my debit card to make it stop. That is punishing me. This is a scam. Do not use them.

The whole initial process was simple. I got better results from when I first wanted this process with SmileDirect. Originally, I just wanted to fix up two teeth that shifted back, but my whole entire teeth line ended up aligning even more, so that helps out even way more. Also, an overbite that I had is not there anymore. So it was a big win-win situation. I feel very, very confident right now. The one thing I did appreciate with SmileDirect was the customer service. I already had a plan with them but I wasn't fully satisfied with how one of my teeth shifted. But they were able to take me back in and get it rescanned until that problem got resolved out. So now, I’m 100% set.

I have a had braces before and yes this wasn’t the same prices as braces, but for someone that barely has something wrong with their teeth and just wanted to correct little things the prices is really expensive. They weren’t willing to lower the monthly payment at least some to make it more affordable and the payment options are not convenient at all. I’m not saying this isn’t effective or it doesn’t work but I see it very expensive for my situation. You should charge a standard price but make everyone’s prices custom because some people don’t have that big a fix and you’re still charging them the same.

I have had a couple of different times that they sent the aligners to me and they didn't fit properly. But they always worked with me and gave me a new set. So I'm extremely happy with SmileDirectClub and how they've worked with me along the way. My gap is very tiny now. It's almost closed all the way. The doctors were awesome and the staff that they have communicated. They did an awesome job with staying on top of the process and helping me to feel like they were involved. It was kinda hard when you're doing it online and long distance. But their communication through text messages and emails really made me feel like they were involved. But as far as ordering the materials, it seemed to be lacking. I ordered an impression kit to be able to make the adjustment at the end, and somebody dropped the ball on that. I sent several communications, and it was way off track as a result of that.

My experience visiting the SmileDirectClub location was pleasant. My appointment started on time and lasted 30 mins as expected. The smile guide I worked with was very polite. What displeased me about my experience is that I was given the impression that after the images were taken I would receive a treatment plan within 3 days after my risk free consultation, authorize payment and move forward from there. Instead I was charged for the full treatment a day or two later and had to call to receive the treatment plan. Once I saw the plan I was not pleased with what the result would be and cancelled.

Their office was very clean. They did the digital scan, which was a very new process that I wasn't familiar with. So I was impressed. They sent the scan off and then I received everything in the mail. So that made it really nice. I could notice results right away, especially on the bottom teeth, and then my top teeth as well. However, one second tooth on the top was lingering and I followed the instructions to a tee. After the procedure was completed, it was still crooked. So I contacted SmileDirect and they reevaluated me for free and sent me updated trays to correct that one tooth. So I was very happy with that.
At the beginning of the process, SmileDirect should state that you'll have retainers at the end, and that they're going to be $99 and you have to replace those every five to six months. So there's gonna be an ongoing cost to maintaining your teeth afterwards. Also, the retainer is so thin. They should build a thicker retainer so you don't have to keep buying a new retainer over and over every six months because that's a lot of money.

From signing up and making my appointment online to going into down town Portland to their office location it was the easiest thing to do. Going into Portland was so easy, pulled right into a parking spot. When they opened the door for me to go inside they were expecting me, no wait they got me right in. The office is extremely clean and sanitized, the staff is extra cautious and safe following extra steps to assure comfort. They were so friendly and professional, took the time to explain and make sure I fully understood the process. They made me feel important as my business and experience really matters. The aligners from SmileDirect was quick. It was painful, but not as bad as braces. I wasn't expecting for the results to be as good as it was. My big gap is gone. I'm just wearing the retainer now.

I attended the in person evaluation and the employees were very friendly and helpful. They said I would receive the plan in a few days and that my concerns should be addressed. They attempted to receive payment and I am greatly relieved that I waited to find out what the plan consisted of. I explicitly stated how I was looking to fix the malalignment of my molars and those will literally not be moved at all within my smile plan. Then you all have the gall to call me and ask me to spend $2k to not fix my problem? Ridiculous! Clearly you all just want to make some money. If you were honest, you would have said that I am not a candidate as that is the truth. No, instead you tried to collect anyway. Shameful. I will definitely recommend that others avoid your services in the future. Period.

Updated on 11/04/2021: I had a small, minor gap and it was something I had since a child. Now the outside of the two front, they straightened. They’re more aligned and they’re closed, especially. There’s a little bit of spacing between those, but not really something that you can really see. But I could feel the difference. I'm done with the formal treatment. I'm on the retainers now.
I definitely would recommend Smile Direct Club. It was affordable. The procedures and the processes were easy to do. It wasn't anything difficult or strenuous. Plus everything was provided, too, just in case adjustments need to be made. It wasn't anything like where it was lackluster. The service and the product are great. One time, I had adjustment problems. The plastic, when I was doing the frame, one side came out and the other side didn’t. It was something that was poking the back of my tongue when I first got it. I had to file that down and the file was provided in the package.
Original Review: My experience with SmileDirect has been great. They have updated me through every moment; from how to receive the impression kit (paid return postage included), notifying me when the received the kit. I was informed on how long I would receive a response and notified through every step following. I have confidence in their assessments because they have explained and showed me their procedures.

Excited when I got there, asked lots of questions, and had my scan. Filled everything out, asked if there would be a problem getting the teeth corrections. I received email, not a good fit! Nothing else, so not very happy. I will say that the staff were very nice and did answer my questions. Now I get referred to a local dentist with a $500 discount. I am sure that even with that, it will now be very expensive.

Our meeting went swimmingly. I enjoyed watching her create my layout of my teeth. Looked like I had three areas that need to be worked on and I am OK with that. The only issue I had was that an email I received said that I would receive an accelerator that I plug into my phone to enhance lightening when I went to the visit. Hi, I have not decided yet on my final rating but I am not too satisfied at the moment. Between sending my impressions to the wrong place and prematurely ending my service I have been waiting for a very long time for my impressions. I believe your problem is that you have way too many people involved and no communication between them.
For example: I share my issues and requests with one person then another gets back to me with no idea of what I already shared. I text Sebastian and Pamela gets back to me then, Steve or Nat or Johanna, MJ, Monica, Rob, Christian or Carmen and I get really tired of redundant communications. Since it is taking so long I have requested that you send me a replacement for the last retainer that you sent because mine is now in four pieces. I stated that I would be happy to pay for it but I was told to just use an older one until you have processed my 1st order. This makes no sense to me. Meanwhile I wait and wait with no idea when you will take care of my requests.

Extreme delays occurred for getting the plan in place. At the studio I was told 72 hours, on the portal it said 72 hours, and customer service said 72 hours. After the 72 hours I contacted chat support and was told to wait another 24 hours and it will be done. I waited another day and called and was told it actually takes 5-7 business days. After 5-7 business days I gave up and had no expectations but I still received an email saying it could take up to 13 more days. Overall, if this is how SDC handles original interactions it clearly isn't a company I want to be working with. I ended up driving to Austin to use the Candid studio there and they stated 2-3 weeks but had it done in 4 days. This isn't a problem with getting things done right, it is telling lies to customers knowing you cannot deliver.

My teeth had like bad crowding in the bottom. I was tired of it and as I was getting older, I was getting really insecure about my teeth. I reached out to Smile Direct. Their guy was great. He was telling me how to wear the product, what to do, how to clean them and what I should do if I lose them. I did the six months and I would wear them every day for like 22 hours. I finished the process. I'm only wearing them at night. It was great. I feel like it was the easiest thing. I was surprised. I have a good smile now.

In the beginning, I was very excited about getting Smile Direct liners. I called in with my first couple sets of liners due to the liners would cut my tongue and the inside of my mouth. When I called in the representative was very professional when telling me I needed to purchase a file and file any part of the liner that was causing cuts in my mouth. I didn't like this at all however I filed the liners down as instructed. This happens on EVERY liner. There would be other issues like the liners didn't fit on my teeth properly and/or when it was time to change the liner the new liner didn't fit at all!
I sent pictures to Smile Direct. They told me that it was okay and to just make sure that I took the sponge ring they gave me and bite down on it. I bite on the sponger however it didn't change how the liners fit in my mouth. I got used to the cuts in my mouth and on my tongue but my next issue was the movement of my teeth. I noticed that the teeth I needed movement on were moving in the right direction but other teeth were going in the wrong direction. I emailed Smile Direct at first no response so I called them. They had me do my impressions again and sent out new liners. This process happens a few times. This process started for me on October 2, 2018. It tells you on the website that the process is normally (most customers) 4-6 months turnaround time. In October of this year, it will be 3 years for me and my smile wasn't bad at all.
I let Smile Direct know I was unhappy and asked a representative about a refund and I haven't heard from Smile Direct since. I'm now with Invisalign paying double what I paid Smile Direct. I will say that although I called and emailed over 100 times in this 2.5-year time frame the representatives were always helpful and willing to assist. They can't make management or people that have authority respond or acknowledge your concern. Everyone is different and I'm not saying that this product won't work for you but I am saying it didn't work for me.
My last complaint about Smile Direct is I referred my best friend the same week I started with Smile Direct when she got there she gave the staff my name and told them I referred her. The staff gave her an email of some type that I needed to use to receive referral credit. I filled it out and was told that it was too late and that it needed to be done before she was seen and treated. When someone sends you business you don't take away a bonus from them especially when you're gaining revenue. It's been a bad experience with Smile Direct. I'll never refer anyone to them again!

I am currently very disappointed with Smile Direct. Communications from SD is mediocre and after nearly 2 months I still have not received the merchandise for which I was billed and charged for over 6 weeks ago. I am not pleased and would be very reluctant to recommend SD to anyone.

The visit was super fast and ok, I just didn’t like the fact that the receptionist was the person that was about to be the same person examining my teeth!! I definitely wasn’t aware of how after the exam it was like I was forced to buy the liners and they are too expensive. If that was the case I would use my personal insurance as well as dentist!! I left with a care bag of things that never worked so I’m unsure of how the teeth whitened experience really is!! Everything I was given that day was either broken or not working!! Totally unsatisfied customer!!! Bad enough I had to come all the way outta my jurisdiction to the location of the office I spent more money that day for a free service????

I am very disappointed in Smile Direct Service. I went in for a scan and the lady that checked me in was very nice. But that is the only good part of the experience. During my scan I made it clear I only wanted the Nighttime Wear aligners. If I was not approved for them, I did not want the Day Wear. She told me that I would hear back in 2-3 days if I was approved for Night Wear. In 4 days I saw a charge on my card for $1950, without ever hearing back from SmileDirect. Consumed, I went to my account and looked everywhere to find anything that noted what plan I had been approved for, but there was not doctor note, no approval letter.
I had to reach out to customer service for an explanation and was told the doctor had not approved me for Night Wear and so they decided to automatically charge me for the Day Wear and put me on the day plan which I clearly stated I was not interested in. I did not approve of any plans or charges because I did not hear back from anybody, it is very upsetting that I was charged almost $2000 without hearing a word back from anyone. And the fact that I could not even review as to why I was not approved for Night Wear was disappointing.

I have not had a pleasant experience with this. I went through the first 4-6 months optimistic about my teeth getting straight. Then sent an email about not satisfied with the way my smile looked. Got two impression kits, sent them both back, and never heard back. Or was told when or if I’m being sent new retainers. It’s been nothing but disappointment. I want a refund. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had.

I faithfully changed my aligners and did all the right steps, but aligners could not rotate a tooth. I started to find that the aligners didn't fit, so I went in and got new ones. They worked for a while too, but they could not rotate one tooth. Apparently they are good for closing gaps or even repairing overlaps, but they can't rotate teeth.

I didn't had any problem with a proper fit and the aligners do not cause damage to my jaw, teeth, or gums. SmileDirectClub offers remote treatment. Whitney, my SmileGuide was wonderful. The rest has been less than wonderful. I did not receive my $100 deduction, nor did my referral partner receive her $100 gift card, the e-mail took longer than 2-3 business days as I was told, my credit card was not billed as I was told it would be, and when I emailed about my lack of deduction I was told I would not receive it. I had already recommended Smile Direct to 5 of my family members, but have told all of them to wait as this experience, outside of my initial visit with Whitney, has been less than wonderful. I certainly hope to hear from someone about the referral money to my colleague, my $100 deduction and hopefully better communication moving forward. I am truly excited to have my perfect smile and had only hear positive experiences with compassionate care from colleagues and hope to receive the same moving forward.

I had been seeing ads on television and was very curious. An orthodontist had told me that I would not be a candidate for Invisalign and I wanted to see if I could try another brand. I have a gap between my front two teeth and that is all I needed fixed. I made an appointment at the nearest location. I was impressed with the knowledge that the person had who helped me. She was able to answer all of my questions easily. Also, the technology that they had was amazing. One visit and I was done. The braces came in the mail and worked wonderfully.

I have twins whom I took to a bus appointment. One had an appointment and the other was unable to make it in their schedule. I talked to the person helping us that I was unsure about buying and wanted to think about it. They said they would help to see if I qualify for financing and that I would not be charged me just for checking. I would not actually be getting a credit card. They helped me through the forms for CareCredit. I realized they had charged me through CareCredit for the full amount! Not only that, but now I had a card I did not want. Thankfully, they fixed the problem.

I had a great experience at the SmileShop—I did not, however, have a good experience ordering my aligners. I got charged more than what the website advertised so I cancelled my order. So frustrating...

Smile Direct Club has provided a mostly positive experience so far. My bottom teeth, in particular, were crowded in front, and one was actually pushed nearly behind the others. Smile Direct sends you all the necessary materials to make molds of your teeth, and a "Smile Stretcher" for you to take selfies so they can see your teeth early. It's convenient and easy to mail back, postage paid. The aligners, which are supposed to be worn 22 hours per day, feel tight and a bit achy at first, become more comfortable. You switch the aligners every week or two. I am seeing slow, but steady results.

I use the retainer at the end of day. Then in the day, I don't have to wear it and I can eat whatever I want. The result is really good. It's already fixed the bottom teeth and now my teeth look really straight. I'm really happy.

I don’t know why I am just getting emails now about my impression kit being processed. This was done weeks ago. It is advertised 2-3 weeks from payment. I am now at 5+ weeks. $1900 is too much to pay for something with this poor of processing. I hope the aligners do work for all this hassle.

I recommend SmileDirect's process and the fitting of the aligners. I'm satisfied with their overall process. What could have been improved was the follow-up for my 90-day checkup versus me having to check in with them. The 3D scan was perfection. If I had known the 3D scan made a major difference in the fitting of the aligners, I would have done that in the beginning instead of doing my own impressions.

I complied with all of the steps Smile Club required of me in order to design a set of aligners to straighten my teeth. I was given a plan that included all the aligners I would require to complete the job of straightening my teeth. The first thing I noticed after opening the package were the aligners were a very thin cheap plastic with terrible fit and finish. The aligners were not trimmed properly leaving very thin and sharp pieces of plastic (that should’ve been trimmed off) that cut my mouth to the point of bleeding. I was told I could use a file or scissors to complete the trimming job that should’ve been done at the factory.
Ultimately, the number of aligners sent did not complete the job of straightening my teeth, in fact my mouth was raw, shredded and bleeding from the ill fitting aligners. This was due in large part to the aligners cracking when placed in my mouth at the appropriate intervals and to the poor quality of materials used in construction of the aligners. They simply were not of sufficient strength to straighten my teeth.
When I complained I was sent to a dentist where a new assessment was made and a new plan was devised. More aligners were required for a longer period of time. I assumed that because the initial plan had been wrong and the materials were of insufficient quality to accomplish the task, that the corrective plan (as it was their mistake and their shoddy materials) would be provided at no additional cost to me. Yet after receiving the new plan of aligners I also received a new bill that was actually more than the first bill.
As with the first set of aligners, the new set specified by the plan cracked again and were ill fitting causing sores and bleeding on my gums inside my cheeks and inside my lip. Ultimately the second plan also failed for the same reason as the first plan, cheap materials and lousy fit and finish. Clearly the only reason for the failure of these aligners was the shoddy, cheap plastic materials that are of insufficient strength to accomplish the task.
My teeth showed no change from the very first day I started the nightmare with the Smile Club plan. Even though these issues were brought to their attention they did nothing to correct the problem. They did not credit back to me the money billed for the second set of aligners despite the same cheap cracking problems.
I stopped payment on the aligners and now they’re attempting to damage my credit by reporting it to the credit bureau as if somehow I am at fault. The entire experience is and has been horrifying given my bloody mouth as they’re thin poorly manufactured aligners shredded the inside of my mouth. And despite the problem being entirely their fault Smile Club made no effort to correct any of the poor workmanship, poor customer service, or ill fitting aligners.
It was smile club’s plan and number of aligners supposedly designed to straighten my teeth. By the time I used all the Aligners that weren’t broken my teeth looked no different than when I first started this nightmare. It cannot be overstated that Smile Club sent the second set of aligners at my expense, ultimately charging me full price for two sets of defective aligners with the full expectation from smile club that I was responsible for paying for their mistakes and faulty materials!!
As if I have not put up with enough from smile club. They are now trying to affect my credit by reporting my non-payments to the credit bureau without resolving the underlying issues that lead to stopping payments on their defective aligners. I would strongly urge anyone considering these aligners to look elsewhere! At a minimum please compare the quality of materials used in the aligners of the companies you are looking at. I am certain you will find Smile Club’s aligners to be the most flimsy and cheapest aligners of any company you will be comparing them against.
To complete this disaster you will also find their customer service department completely unresponsive and rude. To this date (over 2 years into this nightmare) with this organization my complaints have yet to be addressed and the matter has yet to be satisfactorily concluded. Do yourself a favor and steer a wide path around this lousy company.

I went in to a Dallas location for the scanning. I was told that I would be notified within 72 hours if I was a candidate for the process. More than a week passed. No one every reached out to me. I had to call twice, only to find out that I was not a candidate. I don't mind the news. However, it would have been nice if Smile Club contacted me. That's how customer service is supposed to work. I felt like another number...

I have several large gaps that I want to close and I'm not interested in wearing braces at my age. I made my appointment online and visited my local SDC for my 3D scan. I thought it would be easier than doing the impression kit myself and it was! First, everyone was so nice. Ty was awesome and thoroughly explained the process. She answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease when I mentioned that I was nervous. I received my 3D scan email within 72 as promised but I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the result.
I was placed on a 5 month plan but the end result still had several large gaps. I called customer service the next day to cancel and was connected to someone with the dental team to reviewed my scan and explained why they were unable to close some of the gaps with aligners. She even offered me suggestions for other services not offered by SDC which was very considerate since I was canceling my order. She placed a hold on my aligners I was able to cancel my order without any issues. I received my order cancellation email and text message. SDC doesn't work for everyone which is disappointing to me but everyone was so great throughout the entire process that I'd still recommend them to anyone looking to fix your smile.

I liked that SmileDirectClub was close. There was an office where I would go if I couldn't do it myself. The reason I went was the way my teeth were crowded and I wanted it to straighten my front tooth out. It’s taking a little bit longer, but I don't mind it as long as it's taken care of. I'm impressed with how well it does, the fact that you can get plastic aligners and they can straighten your mouth out is amazing to me. Smile Direct also has the best deals. They were also always nice.

Very clean, measures in place for covid safety. She talked and walked me thru everything and I felt very comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Initially I was very pleased...then I asked to have my case reviewed. I was sent an impression kit and told to have it back by 3/26/21. I did this. I was told I would be sent additional liners. After several f/u phone calls, I received an email stating the dentist would create a new treatment plan. Today's date is 4/14/21. I don't have the aligners yet. I have been in aligner #11 for almost a month. But I have to say with this extreme delay customer services has been GREAT. Although someone dropped the ball along the way...Let's just say I'm "not smiling" at the moment.

I had some crowding on the very bottom of my teeth, the front five teeth and then a little bit on the upper portion that I wanted to be corrected. Everything's worked out really well so far. The process has been extremely easy. Convenient to get to from where I'm located. Everything has a pretty quick turnaround time too. If I have any questions, I usually get a response fairly quickly. There's only been a couple of times where I haven't, but it's not that often that that happens. As far as results, I'm having to go under my third revise month. I just went this last week and had new scans done so they could redo another set of aligners for me because I'm still having a little bit of crowding in the bottom that hasn't been completely fixed yet.

I had to go back a few times just 'cause it didn't work out how the original plan had happened. But they were nice enough to do two more rescans and two more complimentary courses to get everything corrected. So, I was happy. It's convenient, customer service is good and it's cheaper than Invisalign. I love my new smile.

I love the fact that the impressions came with step by step written instructions (with pictures) and there was also a link to a step by step video. Super easy, super quick and no mess!! Everything in the impression kit was organized and the process was easy to follow.

I have had a terrible experience. I had completed the nighttime aligner program, there was improvement but my teeth were not fully straightened. Smile direct agreed to honor the guarantee and extend my treatment which was good. I received a new impression kit, made the impressions and sent them in with new photos in February 2021. After no new aligners were shipped, I followed up, I was told to submit more pictures, which I did. After another call, they wanted more pictures, so a smile direct consultant did a phone session where she took pictures using my phone.
A few weeks later I followed up and was again there were waiting for the pictures. I again sent pictures and now they want more, I wish I was exaggerating, I am not. At this point I have no new aligners, what SDC has done with my pictures and the ones they took I will never know. No one From SDC can tell me what happened to the multiple picture submissions, total chaos in operations there.

I thought I was gonna have difficulty doing the imprint with the clay but it turned out perfect the first time. The only thing was the first set of aligners that came in didn't fit so well. But I was able to call customer service and do a video chat. They were able to assess and they sent me out some new aligners within a week. I started in November and in December, I noticed that my teeth sort of shifted. I'm very satisfied with the end results and now, I'm just wearing my retainers at night.

Instructions that came with the impression kit were very thorough. I found the whole process pretty straightforward. There were helpful tips like having a timer ready and how to properly mix the material together. I am on aligner 2 of 12 and pretty excited to see results.

I looked at the 3D preview of what my teeth will look like at the end of using my aligners. I requested to get an update of my aligners to close the gap in my teeth more and was told I’d hear back on that a week ago. I never did.

After visiting a rented office the size of a closet we were verbally promised a solution to straightening our teeth. We were asked to pay $2,000.00 each for this: This process was to take six months. Yet the guarantee is for 30 days? Useless! If we had doubts before 30 days I am sure the “office” would remind us that it takes 6 months. So what does 30 days really do for anyone?!!
When I asked to have a written commitment that this process will be successful and guaranteed for the six months it went to deaf ears. How does any professional organization expect a consumer to invest in a verbal promise? Especially from a rented “make shift” office or a mobile store which is what we had to choose from? (Mind you, an actual doctor was never available.) And then we should believe that there is no physical follow-up visit (WITH A LICENSED DOCTOR) ever?!! Just a box of plastic trays which can also be purchased at Rite-Aid as far as we know.
If a doctor created this dental plan we should still be able to counsel with that doctor and not rely upon a sales person who has zero medical qualifications,..just sayin’.. It’s possible that an actual doctor who attended 8 years of medical school would understand and appreciate the relevance of a written contract,.. Does the doctor realize how much business you are losing by assuming that people are stupid?

I will say the first leg of my treatment was good. For the first 6 months I felt their concern as they checked in ever so often and I got reminders about when to change my aligners. When my teeth weren’t where it should be after the 6 months, I was approved for more aligners to get my smile right. This was for another 2 months. Had no issues there and received those aligners quickly. However, during those 2 months, no one checked in, I barely got reminders to change my aligners, and after my treatment was done, I didn’t even get a generic email asking me if I was happy with my outcome, to wish me well or thank me for choosing them. I felt like that was a bit uncaring. Kind of “Oh well she’s done so we’re on to the next”.
A nice email from the team to make sure all was well would’ve been nice. Then it is recommended that you wear the retainers for 2 weeks and only night time after that. But that didn’t work for me. After leaving my retainer out all day after the 2 weeks, my bottom retainer was tight and my teeth hurt as if I was wearing a brand new aligner. So their 2 week rule is too broad in my opinion and wouldn’t work for everyone especially if you had a lot of crowding. And because no one ever reached out to me again other than for me to leave reviews, I had to figure out for myself that I need to wear my retainers longer before I can just leave them out for an entire day. Overall, I’m quite happy with my smile and it turned out how they said it would. And that is why they got 4 stars. I just think their customer service can improve for existing customers, especially those who are approved for midcourse correction/touch up aligners. For that, I take a star away.

After finishing my treatment and 2 refinements, my teeth are straighter, but not perfect. It took 2 years due to Covid pauses. My teeth look 100% straighter, but my bite is slightly off. Customer service is great, but ordering the retainers gets expensive between refinements. The fit was actually better when using the impression kit rather than going in and doing the 3d scan. I thought that I would get the first retainer after refinements included in my initial price but it was extra. I smile big in pictures now instead of acting goofy to get attention away from my crowded teeth. If I had to go back and do it again I would.

I am very disappointed in the fact that there is a set price for any work, first I was told one price for both top and bottom, then I was told that only the top could be dealt with and that the price would be the same, after voicing my unsatisfactory opinion on how pricing was reached whether it was 24 months or 4 months and if it was top and bottom or just only one, I was told they would give me a $100, then I still was not satisfied and they told me I would be given $350 discount, I like the product but fair business practice are not being followed, extremely disappointed!!!

The process at SmileDirect took a bit longer than I thought it was going to because after I did my free scan, there were some issues. I had to do another kit on my own and order one. Once I got it done and they got my impression, it was fairly easy. The results are great.

The only complaint I have is how the gap between the scan and the first charge SmileDirect made with the card on file was handled. I was under the distinct impression a professional would call to confirm the next step in the process, i.e., if I wished to move ahead, or not. In fact, I only received an email notifying me of the charge to cover the deposit for the monthly payment plan.

I liked SmileDirectClub's price and the plan that they have. I signed up and received the starter kit in the mail. I sent them my impression and I was really happy with how fast they got them back to me. They said four to five weeks but it was only a week and a half and I got my entire plan back. They crunched my teeth all in and I'm a lot more satisfied with my smile now.

I have emailed you guys 4 times, called twice, and chatted twice asking if my insurance covered the product. Everyone I communicated with had no answer, told me to fill out the form again or wait 2 more days. It has been 2 weeks. In addition, trying to speak with someone competent was a lost cause. I DO NOT want to proceed as the purchase was contingent upon insurance coverage. If the customer service I received for a simple insurance question is anything like when I am using the product, I have no faith.

My teeth have been crooked and I’ve been embarrassed about it my whole life. When I took my kids to my adult coverage to straighten, covered by my insurance plan, my kids were $7,000, $8,000, $10,000 for their braces. If I use it for myself, it wasn’t gonna be an option. SmileDirectClub is less expensive and I like the time it would take to do it. I did the first couple of appointments in person because it was before the lockdown. I’ve had a few adjustments since I started, they call them refinements. The first set was the one that they did the scan on and I found those aligners not as comfortable, whereas I've had one or two refinements since then, and I've had to do the impressions and send them back, and I find those aligners fit better and less discomfort. I'm very pleased and happy. It's been great to be able to talk to somebody or get on a chat and get my questions answered.

I sent in my impressions, it took about 5 days to get the 3D images, and upon reviewing them only my top was complete, there wasn’t a plan for my bottom. So after waiting and seeing they accepted the pictures and impressions they couldn’t make my bottom only my top aligner. Not paying to have just half my teeth straight.

I called SmileDirectClub directly to process the down payment for my aligners as the website wasn't accepting my address, the representative who I ended up speaking with said when trying to charge my card the first time that my card wasn't accepted and she asked to try again, I said sure. She told me again the card wasn't accepted. When I checked my bank after being informed of this I saw I was charged $300.00 twice. I was then informed this was most likely a temporary hold and to allow a 5 days for it to return to my account.
After allowing a week to pass I reached out through the website however couldn't get any response only that it was "being looked into". Finally after several attempts to follow up with the Customer Service team for SDC they sent me an email saying that they did in fact receive the funds and $300.00 was being kept for my down-payment and $300.00 was being refunded and to allow 7-10 business days for it to deposit into my account. (It has now been a month.) I am now being told the money was never received and a refund is not coming? So where is the money? How did you receive my one $300.00 and agree to send me my aligners but didn't receive the other $300.00 to refund me. I'm again waiting another 7-10 business days to find out.

Clean facility. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The smile technician took time to answer all of my questions, make recommendations and made me feel at ease. No pressure. Still deciding if I will order, as they are expensive (although cheaper than Invisalign) but still a lot of money for me. I would recommend for anyone to give it a try.

At the CVS I went to, SmileDirectClub was able to answer all my questions. The rep was able to do my molds right there. It was really simple and I put them back in myself. The results have been great. I should have been done a while ago, but I have one more set to go. I’ve done it in my own time which just made it a lot easier.

Erin from the Brookfield, Wisconsin location completed my scan, and was very helpful and knowledgeable. All the staff were friendly, and eager to answer my questions. I’m glad I chose the scan instead of the kit. It was cool to see a 3D profile of my smile, and what it will look like after treatment!

First of all my kit was missing the smile brackets to take the photos. When I called they told me it was not necessary so I had to use my hands to spread my mouth opened. Secondly, when I sent the pictures, they wanted more and more. Lastly, I sent the photos on February 4 and they didn’t even know I sent them. Here it is April 4 and I still don’t have my inserts. So the one star is because I couldn’t give it zero stars.

They respond and customer service is very nice. Considering COVID, everything is good. I have to go in and take another set of photos for my laterals so they'd rotate a bit more. But other than that, I'm satisfied for sure.

I went to SmileDirectClub and they took a 3D scan. A few weeks later, I had the aligners. I had results in a month in a half or so. But, I had a problem with a couple of aligners which weren't catching up with my stubborn teeth. I had to go back and get a 3D scan again. It all worked out well except that I have to go back because I might need another set of aligners to close it up all the way.

My teeth have moved quite a bit and I suppose SmileDirectClub finished the first round, but the retainers didn't fit well so they had me do reimpressions, and then they started me on another round. I'm still in the process of that. They fit the front teeth, but they pop off of the back teeth too easily and I'm biting down on them. I had braces quite a while ago, but I had to have them take off to be able to fly when I was in the Air Force so I had gaps in my teeth and stuff ‘cause they never finished my standard braces. I decided to try to finish them here at my older age.

I am still waiting to hear if I can use the aligners at night. I made that perfectly clear when I went for the 3-D scan but when I got the plan it was for Aligners during the day, and that will not work for me. I’m very interested in getting started. I’m still waiting to hear if it is possible. The last time I checked in they said I wouldn’t hear until April 8.

I love SmileDirectClub. They are so polite and do such a great job. I was happy after a week. But they didn’t get to where I wanted to see them. My bite is still not great and I don’t know that any amount of orthodontic work will make it so my bite is just right. Then originally, they sent me retainers that they anticipated would fit at the end of my progress, but they didn’t, so I need to come in and refit for retainers. Nonetheless, I would advise anybody to come there.

I've gone to a dentist before and I tried to get braces but the way my teeth are, it would have been five years of braces. I didn't want to have those things on for five years and SmileDirect said they could do it in six months. So I said that I was gonna give it a shot and see. I did not think that I would be a candidate because my teeth were bad. When I went in, they did the digital pictures and said that they could probably help me out. I thought I was gonna have more problems with my bottom ones than the top ones but they are straighter than they've ever been. It turned out the top ones are the ones that are giving me the most problems. I'm getting a gap in between them but SmileDirect is still working with me and it’s awesome. I sent them some pictures and they sent me some more of the moldings. I sent those back. I'm waiting for them to respond to see if they got my aligners yet.

Horrible communication! Wasn’t happy with results and I was told to redo my impressions only. After weeks I heard nothing. I called and was told they were waiting for pictures, after I was told they were not needed. Did my pictures through live phone and was told that was all I needed. Received numerous emails stating pictures were needed. Seriously? What more can I do?

Once I received my impression kit I immediately began making my impressions and sent them back the next day. About 2 days later I got an Email that my impressions were received and I was on my way to a new smile. The whole process has been very time efficient and quick. I cannot wait to begin my plan

The impressions kit I received was overnight shipping and was very easy to use. I got a good laugh at myself while using the plastic smile thing in the kit. I could not stop laughing at how silly it was. I was Very pleased with the kit and I can’t wait for my aligners to arrive and finally get the smile I’ve been dreaming of!

I was excited to hear I was eligible for Smile Direct during my appt. Because that’s what I went there for because when I signed my son up for it few years ago I was not eligible. I’m upset that the person somehow signed me up for a payment plan when I never agreed to sign up, I specifically said I wanted to consult with my other half first. And I had more questions about payment options. She said no problem, someone would contact me within 3 days to discuss, well after 3 days I was charged the $250 deposit and now I have to wait 10 days to get it back but it took you guys 3 days to take.
I’m upset that I was taken advantage of. Even when I called to get this canceled the rep said there was nothing she could do until I asked to speak to manager then all of a sudden she was able to. How do you charge people without them knowing? Because you hide it on an iPad a scroll the part where you're signing up for a payment plan and running my credit?? I’m shocked as I referred my sister here and all I wanted was to get my teeth fix. I also wanted to purchase retainers replacements for my son. I honestly don’t want to give my money to a company I no longer trust.

I do not have any complaints about my consultation...the dental tech was excellent. Very informative and knowledgeable. Also, Smile Direct Club has done a great job of keeping me updated about my account and updates on my aligners. I took off one star because my appointment was at 10:30am, I arrived at 10:25am and waited to be seen until 11:05am. The person with the 11am appointment who arrived after me was taken back before me. What's the point of making an appointment if you have to wait in the front room for 40 minutes? I intentionally made an appointment so I would be there less time because of COVID...seems odd to be so far off appointment schedule with some but not others.

Everything was pretty easy. It took three weeks to receive my kit and I started seeing changes after the first month. After everything was finished, there were two teeth that were still a little off and when I have my bite down, my two front teeth would touch the bottom teeth more. I requested refinements and I got that going right now.

We had a couple of hiccups. UPS lost the original impression kit so we had to get a new one sent. Then when the aligners arrived, they were someone else's. But customer service was great. Anytime I called or needed help, they were right all over it. It took a couple of extra weeks but it was not a big deal. My daughter was very consistent with the product and we started seeing results about six weeks in. She's super happy.

I was so excited to do this! After my impressions, I was told that I was only getting an upper aligner. My bottom teeth were of more concern. They didn’t want to treat the bottom. I had 3 orthodontist consultations and 2 of them had no issues with my teeth. The only reason I didn’t accept their treatment was because neither doctor accepted my insurance, which made this treatment nearly impossible. I would have just ok’d the top aligners but there was no discounted rate. My uppers were not really the issue for me. Disappointing!!

When I got the bill and how long the duration would be. My attitude changed. If some photos would have been sent about how I will look after one year, maybe investment for a lifetime of retainer would been worth it. Your costs are very similar to braces where in 4 years I hope to be done.

I told my son's dentist that my son needed braces and she said that his teeth are not so bad and he could use SmileDirect, which is a bit more affordable. She gave us a number so we called and we booked an appointment. We went and got it done ASAP. I like the fact that we didn't have to pay everything up front, although we did. Also, I'm happy with their process but the whitening could be a bit more improved. Other than that, it's showing results.

I took my son to his initial evaluation for Smile Direct Club. I felt that everything went smoothly but left feeling like it almost went a little too well. I went home in search of previous client reviews and felt even more like I should have done better research first. My main concern for my son is not just cosmetic but hopes for preventing future issues such as jaw pain, grinding...etc. the very issues I deal with daily. While the entire process was very simple, I was not expecting to sign up for anything and pay immediately. I cancelled my payment over the phone and have decided to pursue further evaluation through an orthodontist. I just feel for the issues he has. He would be better off being more closely monitored throughout the process. I wish it was just as affordable but I can't afford putting him at possible greater risk in the future.

Had a wonderful experience both times I went into SmileDirect local shop. Got me in quick and have wonderful, friendly staff. However, the communication after my second appointment for my touch up trays has been awful. I heard nothing for over a week after I had my appointment and then when I finally reached out to them they still had no answers. They said they escalated my case and I would hear back from someone in 3-5 business days. Once again, didn't hear anything so I had to reach out to them a second time through the help chat and they said they escalated my case and someone will get back to me in 3-5 business. I'm still waiting, hopefully they answer me this time. They claim they will help you fix your smile without a problem if you aren't satisfied at the end of your treatment plan. So far it seems like they aim to make it difficult.

My son loves the aligners. It ended being six months because he did two months more. The gap didn't completely close. We went in for little tweaks and they said, "All right, we'll get you another. You've already paid for your other retainer so we'll give you a free retainer."

I didn’t really care for the sexiness the low-cut shirt and the non-experience of a sales person acting like a dentist or a Orthodontist. At any rate I have called and canceled like four days ago. I do not want the product. Norma going to pay for it. He just seemed to sale like, I was rushed out the door and felt dissolve, "Hey we got a contract. Go ** yourself."

I was told this appointment was free. When I got there I was asked for my credit card to be charged. I told her before the visit started that I’d have to talk to my husband about the price because I was out of work. But I was still made to give a credit card. I believe this was false advertisement. I should’ve been given time to think over the price. Maybe you guys should put that in your online advertisements that you will have to pay for services right after the visit. This was poor on your part.

I referred a friend. She uses the provided link, she paid for her aligners. My promised rebate has never appeared. I have been trying to get additional aligners for a problem my plan did not correct acceptably. IMPOSSIBLE. Every communication is as though I'm a new customer. I was on the phone for over an hour begging them to take my money!! (Sounds crazy.) I had an in person appointment so after not receiving any emails on my plan dental plan after a WEEK. (I was told it’s a 3 DAY approval process) I decided to call because I notice they took the down payment off my charge card for my daughter’s plan and email me her dental plan days prior so What’s the hold up on my plan?
Called customer care, After the 20th attempt of them trying to swipe my card and 2 hours run around. Direct Smile says I never signed my paperwork so it won’t give them authorization. Mind you, I went to a center and had my impressions done. My daughter and myself had our impressions taken. They took the money off my card for her just never for me. I’m not even interested, because after all of that they still couldn’t come up with a simple resolution they didn’t involved inconveniencing me any further. Very incompetent service. No one knows anything I was transferred 3 times. I’m just done, Do better!

I had to redo my impressions to get a new retainer, and the process went smoothly enough, but overall, could have been better. SDC sent only the impression kit, without the mouth-holder for taking photos, then emailed me that I needed to send photos. Why was that not known beforehand so they could send me the mouth-holder so I could do my impressions and take my photos all in one go? It seemed to me that SDC was scattered, and not everyone arranging fo my retainers was on the same page, not instilling much trust... Also, it has been over a week since they received all my impressions and photos, and I have received no information about my retainers even though they send they would give me my plan within 3 days. Slow, questionably organized... I am reconsidering my purchase.

When getting my adjustment aligners, the communications and support is MUCH less. Updates less frequent. I have no idea where they are in the process or when they will arrive. Opposite from my initial order and aligner set.

I am extremely disappointed with a call I got saying you can only do my top teeth, not the bottom... why would I do half my mouth? My experience in Brandon was fine, was not told of the possibility of not being able to do my whole mouth... Not acceptable!

The staff was really friendly. The dental hygienist was knowledgeable but was sales pitchy. It seemed rehearsed. The office spaces was cool but lacked privacy. I was a bit uncomfortable getting a dental exam next to a conference room.

My experience at the Smile workshop was great and my smile tech (I don’t remember what they’re called) Megan was very informative and nice. My only issue is it’s now been over a week since my appointment and I still haven’t received my smile plan after being told multiple times it would only take 72 hours.

I needed very minimal work, and my price is the same as someone that would need extensive movement? After seeing that, I booked a consultation for Invisalign Express which is cheaper and through my dentist. Terrible customer experience and would never recommend SmileDirect.

I’m currently waiting on my second set of aligners, because the initial 5 month plan didn’t go as projected. I was recently told that my second set was rejected, which makes absolutely no sense because SmileDirectClub is the reason my teeth are the way they are now. I’ve been wearing my last pair of aligners for going on 3 months now.. Will someone please give me an update or a full refund because I’m very disappointed...

I went to your smile bus in Topeka for a 3D scan & worked with Iman. Iman was friendly, but when it came time to make a decision on payment she was EXTREMELY pushy. I told her that I needed to go home to check my finances & to discuss it with my significant other. She then assumed my significant other was a male & made assumptions “well he knows you’re here today & he supports you so he should be on board with this & you should be able to go ahead & pay for it today.” Also, I initially told her while I was interested in smile direct, I might need to wait a month or so due to finances. When I said this her tune immediately became harsher and less friendly & almost acted like she wouldn’t do the scan that day.
She then made a comment that there wouldn’t be a point to doing the scans now if I wanted to wait because my teeth could shift & it wouldn’t be able to be used if I waited a month. Later, I got a phone call as a follow up & was told my smile plan was good for 90 days, which is a complete contradiction to what Iman had told me. I understand she probably works on commission but to say such things & to repeatedly try to push me into giving her my card that day was highly unprofessional & quite honestly made me reconsider my choice to use smile direct & I started considering other options for aligners.

I requested an additional impression kit as I felt my aligner adjustment wasn't complete. The ability to get information after the fact hasn't been an easy process and the response time certainly hasn't matched my initial interactions. I was pleased with the process but the end results aren't what I was expecting. I still have a recessed tooth at the front of my smile.

The staff was great. Very friendly. But advertisement and promotional material stating you can use your insurance to cover isn't true. I have extra coverage through my employer for ortho and self managed orthodontia is not covered despite promotional material and in office staff saying it is. Just do your own research before you complete the sign up process to confirm how it's covered.

I ordered aligners from Smile Direct and when they came, they didn’t fit at all. They kept falling out of my mouth. I immediately called, and in the ensuing months continued to call, email, and message, but despite repeated assurances, they never allowed me to talk with anyone who had even a remote idea what they were talking about. I was told by a succession of customer service agents that I should use the “chewies” and open the next pair of aligners, which would “probably fit better.”
I requested a refund many times, and was finally told I had to go in for a scan. The woman there agreed that my aligners did not fit at all, and said they would send me new ones. I said I simply wanted a refund, and was told “best case scenario” I could only get a partial one one for the unopened aligners. This after they were the ones who kept insisting I open more of them! I agreed they could send me a new set, but weeks later, I still hadn’t received the new set of aligners, so again I messaged them asking for a refund. They canceled the order for the new aligners and then contacted me to say that I should send in more pictures (I’ve sent in maybe 6 sets, including ones taken by them in their office) and I might get a partial refund for unopened aligners only. Really, save your money. This was a costly mistake for me.

I was busy after my teeth straightening was done, and I didn't notice till later that the retainers had allowed my teeth to go right back to crooked. I wore them every single night. SmileDirect gave me the runaround, asking me to send and do things that were so much trouble I couldn't do it, like going to their offices during the early pandemic. Really bad customer service.
They also didn't tell me that since it was my third attempt at straightening (braces long ago, Invisalign in 2008), that I'd get tooth damage and bone loss from it. Another orthodontist told me that's what had happened after it was too late. So I ended up with crooked, chipped, eroded teeth when it was all over. I'm still trying to get a refund. You never see an orthodontist or a real dentist. They hire kids to scan your teeth.

Impressions were fine. Had to redo them a second time. The trays were a little tall for the back teeth and dug into the inside roof of my mouth when trying to get the molars to touch the bottom of the tray.

I am very disappointed with the service I had. I was anxious to get my treatment started but not happy with the way things turned out. I was told at the start that if the doctor allowed me to do top only aligners, as I have nothing wrong with my bottom, that there would be a reduction in price. Then once I waited an extra two weeks for a smile plan they told me that is not the case since the care is the same, even though it is half of the aligners.

Well the experience was basically okay. I honestly thought it would be more advanced technology wise. I found it very interesting that the person who assisted me (she said she was the manager) and we had great conversation. That was until I decided that I would think about committing to the “club.” After that, she basically dismissed me which I found was off putting and Hilarious at the same time. Clearly she was only interested in meeting her quota. I honestly think the club misleads people in that if I have insurance then why not contact my insurance (since you ask for the information) and be done with it as most places do. Nonetheless, I’m not interested in this club since I have to pay a large amount of money upfront. This is why I have insurance.

I’ve had a wonderful experience so far with Smile Direct Club on my journey to a brighter more confident smile! I received my impression kit in a super timely manner and I couldn’t wait to rip open the box and send back my impressions! Having been part of a dental assisting program I had experience taking impressions so I found this step super invigorating and captivating. I just received confirmation from your dental team that I’m an eligible candidate and I reviewed my smile plan. It's amazing to think I’ll be able to straighten my smile in 4-8 months! The price is super reasonable and the pay as you go plan is an amazing perk of your program. I am eager to receive my aligners And straighten my teeth! Thank you so much for accepting my as a candidate and I will definitely be recommending to everyone I know! I smile with no teeth for pictures now.. I can’t wait to see the transformation and to show off my new smile!

I have to say most of the people I talked to were amazing and very helpful. I was a little disappoint that I couldn't come to an agreement on the payment plan. I'm a medical student at Tulane University and my budget is really tight. I really want these aligners and I set everything up so I can get my first set but I really wanted to see if there was something more that can be done. I have an immediate family member in the military who received a pretty solid discount which I would have been willing to pay the whole thing cash right now if you guys could have given me a similar price. I asked about an EMS discount and they didn't help me with that either so I'm definitely not very happy about that.

After I had gotten my scan from the girl. I told her that I was definitely interested and my tax returns were coming in a few weeks and that I would pay in full. She told me to use care credit and to see if I could qualify for that to make a payment and get started right away. I told her I didn’t need to because I planned on paying in full right away. She said please just go on care credits website to see and I said I didn’t want to sign up for that because I’m working on buying a house right now and cannot sign up for anything that would change my credit score. She said it wouldn’t and just to see if I could get approved. So, I did what she said then it automatically signed me up for a credit card and my credit score decreased by 11 points. Which makes me very furious, because she said it was just to look. So, now I changed my mind about getting Smile Direct now. I told her I’d sign up in a few weeks for it and pay in full, but now she gave me a definite reason to not sign up.

Kit arrived; impressions taken and returned to SDC. Time passed then received notice the impressions weren't acceptable and that I needed to go to a SDC center for digital impressions. After scheduling an appointment and driving 40 miles round trip it became a lengthy process that included a sales pitch. I was promised follow up from SDC that would include a program description and clear time period required for my re-alignment process, nothing was sent. Then after more time passed I received an email stating the 3D scan was invalid and I was to return to the SDC shop for another scan. On March 8th I emailed back asking why I would need to be rescanned; on March 9th Katherine M replied stating the scans were actually done properly, that she would "escalate" the issue and that I would have a response in 3-5 days. Now 5 days later - no response?? This process doesn't build confidence and is unprofessional.

When the aligners would come or even my retainer, there would be too much plastic left on the end. It'd create a cut in my gum then I'd have to take forever and file it down with a nail file. That process is tedious and kind of annoying. But I had a positive experience when I think that when issues arose, they were more than willing to help me and pretty apologetic with that so I felt valued as a customer.

The scan was great and seemed thorough. The people were kind, but...I asked about financing and was told that I could see if I would qualify for a Carecredit. I voiced that I didn't want to affect my credit and that I don't want to be charged for anything. I also told them that I was not ready to make a decision to get aligners for my daughter. I was assured that I would not actually be charged anything and that I could make up my mind later. I was charged the full amount on the card. Surprise!! No good....

Let me just say this- I only had a small gap I wanted closed. Always had great teeth, regular check ups every 6 mo etc.. Today, I now have Stage 5 Periodontal Disease, receded gums and a cleaning now cost $1999.95 (insurance won't cover) vs free basic cleaning with insurance. Only change was using SDC. Also, 50% bone loss compared to my x-rays taken 6 months ago. DON'T DO IT!!! SDC won't assist with the mess they created.

I was worried that I’d mess up the impressions and have to wait forever to try again, just for the same thing to happen. I was so wrong. The kit got to me the very next day and I didn’t even end up needing a second kit. The kit comes with 4 total impression trays so if you make a mistake, they’ve already got you covered!
