    After receiving the kit, sending it back, waiting for the Doctors to get back to me with an answer, I got online the 3D simulation which showed no improvement. 8 months with 12 sets of mouth pieces and seems no change. So what's the point? Above almost no change, below no change at all.

    My experience inside of the SmileDirectClub office was good, the young lady did an awesome job. I'm however not satisfied with the projected results I was emailed. According to my "New Smile" results the gaps in my teeth won't be completely closed. The 3D images show that I will still have spaces in between the teeth I wanted closed. I'm not satisfied with that. The sole purpose of my interest in getting the treatment is to completely close the spaces in my teeth.

    The initial experience of the team onsite was great but when they were pushy about getting my credit card on file and told me "we will not charge you until you say so" was where this went wrong. I went along because your services are more affordable and I'm on a budget for what I need. So of course a few days later I see the confirmation and charge to my card without seeing the "results" first. No shocker that I ultimately saw that one of the main reasons why I need adjustment was not taken into account and I received an email later (after submitting a support ticket) that you cannot make that adjustment. It's unfortunate that you were quick to charge but did not offer a dialog before confirming the order. This is where you can do better.

    I think if I would have had a conversation with the dentist/orthodontist at the beginning, we would have had a better outcome. The phone answering staff is OK but has no technical orthodontic ability. Even after this second set of impressions, I do not know if I will have good results. I am hopeful. I am waiting for new aligners to arrive. I do not think there is enough room in my mouth for my teeth to move into correct position.

    I saw the final product of what my smile would look like and I just don’t believe it’s going to take 4 months. My orthodontist said it’s a 24 month process with Invisalign. Also, the before treatment scan doesn’t look anything like my current teeth. I will look for other options. Thank you.

    This is my second time doing the impression kits. I followed the plan for my first set and wore my trays for 22 hours a day. I am starting the 2nd sets, because the first ones really didn't move my teeth. I sent in the pictures half way and never heard from the Doctor, Brian **. I contacted Smile Direct multiple times worried that I may need to continue my treatment. I am doing my second treatment and still have not heard anything from the doctor. I am filling this form out to ask for better communication. If my teeth were not on track from the check in half way point, why was I never contacted? I think smile direct needs to do a better job letting their patients know where they are at and if they may need to continue treatment, like me. I appreciate the time.

    I got my consult today with the 3-D imaging. I’m very displeased with the consult that I received considering that at the end it left me with a crossbite. I never had a cross bite in my life. I also had braces in the past and didn’t have a cross bite when the braces came off. Not only am I upset with the consult I am very concerned and am apprehensive with moving forward with your company if these are the kind of doctors you use. People specifically get braces to get rid of a crossbite not to get one.

    I have one single top front tooth which is crooked. I did the impression kit months ago and I sent an email indicating that I did not want lower aligners because I have no lower alignment issues and I have crowns on a few of my bottom teeth. Well they sent me bottom aligners and charged me for them anyway. They ignored my requests from the beginning. I started wearing the TOP aligners as instructed, but within a few days of changing each aligner, the fit was so loose there was no way it was providing traction to the teeth. I could literally remove the aligner using only my tongue; and yet I'm supposed to have faith it is straightening my teeth.

    Unfortunately I reached out to customer service and got nowhere. I sent photos and was told via email my smile is progressing as expected even though it wasn't progressing at all. So on my own I went back to aligner #2 & reused each one even though most of them fit too loosely. I got as far as #8 but was unable to change to #9 because #9 is nearly perfectly straight and my one crooked tooth is just as crooked as the day I started. I sent photos showing this and I received an email from customer service this morning stating they have determined the smile I have today is the best they can do for me now. In other words, they can't help me. One crooked tooth and they can't correct it. But they still want paid nearly $2000???? One of the worst, most robotic and impersonal customer service designs I've ever seen. I want a refund. Feel like I've been scammed.

    I will not be moving forward with ordering the aligners. I was very specific when having the scan done at one of your office sites that I was concerned with the teeth on either side of the upper jaw, not the teeth in the front. The only teeth being moved in the treatment plan are the front teeth. Nothing is being done to the side teeth that are tipping inward. If nothing could be done with the teeth I am concerned with, then I should have been told that you would not be able to help with my specific situation.

    I will not be ordering the aligners. As with all advertising, I was mislead. I really thought this would be less expensive. I am at an age where vanity is ridiculous. When the ad said have a new smile for less than "$89/month" and I figured my treatment would not be that expensive, I was banking on a low cost.     I returned my impression kit to SDC. It took almost 2 months to generate a smile plan. I think my repeated inquiries accelerated the process. After seeing my smile plan I see that the results from the impressions are far inferior to the digital scan I received a year earlier. With the small amount of movement required by smile, I wouldn't trust the results obtained from the impressions. Not sure what to do next.

    I love the customer service and the whole process worked out great. When I did the home kit, it didn't go all the way down the gums. So when I get the retainers back, the plastic was a little bit shorter. Sometimes I have to trim it a little bit to keep it from digging into my teeth. When the retainer was incorrect, I had to go back in and SmileDirect did one in-house. When I got the retainers back, it fitted much better and it didn't cut into my tongue. I love the results as far as the bottom teeth. The rest of my teeth straightened out. It was nice that the group wasn't happy when I was likely about to give up. They wanted to make sure they were happy with the results.

    The initial impression experience was fine. However, after receiving the email saying my treatment plan was approved by the doctor, I realized two primary issues. First of all, the link provided in that email to the 3D animation of my "new smile" was completely falsified - the teeth in the animation were not even close to mine. I logged into my SDC dashboard and opened the animation linked there, and THAT one was accurate to my teeth. No idea why I was sent the wrong one. However, despite receiving ZERO communication about any issues with my teeth or impressions, I noticed in the animation that my bottom teeth were NOT being corrected at all.

    I quickly reached out to the Dental Team, and was told that they couldn't correct my bottom teeth with their aligners due to an extra tooth in the way. The extra tooth being an issue is not a surprise, but I was shocked that I received no communication about this issue and they still "approved" my treatment and tried to get me to order the aligners for ONLY the top teeth, WITHOUT warning about the bottom teeth! On top of that, they still wanted to charge the full price for only doing the top teeth? Absolutely not. If I can't trust SDC to communicate issues with half of my teeth being corrected before "approving" treatment, then I will have to go elsewhere after dealing with the extra tooth. Communication about issues is standard customer service, and to be lacking that with something as serious as correcting teeth?? Absurd. 0/10 would not recommend.

My only complaint/feedback is that both the site and when in person, after giving my insurance information, it was expressed that my insurance pays out for their service, and then it was explained that all I have to do is submit the paperwork they give me.     I was somewhat skeptical to begin with Smile because I’m kind like that with everything but I lost any possible confidence when, one I was charged before I was able to approve my treatment plan (which that was what I was told would happen), and the email with my 3d pictures of before and after pictures; the before were definitely not my teeth.     Doing the impression kit while probably would have been a better idea; those employees could have been trained to sell you anything; smile liners, Tupperware, knives that cut pennies, etc... Felt uneasy after leaving there; certainly the 30 follow-up emails from the marketing department of Smile Direct Club (and not one responding to my questions to the orthodontist) has continuously verified that this place is truly about profit not patients.

    Updated on 09/14/2021: After returning the mail-in impression kit, I was charged without authorization for the wrong product in the amount of $1950. I called to inform them of the mistake, and was promised a reversal of the authorized charges. The next day I called back only to find out that the refund was never processed – I was lied to by the previous agent. This 2nd agent said she reversed the charges and processed the refund, and even sent me an email confirmation. 10 days later I still hadn’t received the refund. I called back and was told by a 3rd agent that the refund was processed and to wait a bit longer. Later that day, that 3rd agent emailed me an apology and said, in fact, the refund STILL had not been processed, and that she processed it on that day.

    I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor to explain how it is possible that I could be lied to on 3 separate occasions about such a simple transaction. I got hung up on, hassled, and put on hold for an hour, only to talk to someone else who was also clearly in a foreign call center and couldn’t make decisions. It is clear that SDC’s call centers are designed to run you in circles and frustrate your attempts to rectify issues. They lied to me multiple times and unethically held onto an unauthorized charge of $1950 for 2 weeks, and only refunded my money after multiple phone calls, emails, and long hold times. I believe these “mistakes” were purposeful, and deliberately unethical in nature. I urge you, do not trust this company with your dental health.

    Original Review: I submitted my "fast track form" with my impression kit indicating that I wanted the nighttime aligners, and specifically omitted my billing information and said to contact me before proceeding (to ensure the order was right). Unfortunately, I was charged without authorization, and even worse, I was charged for the WRONG kit (the standard aligners, not the nighttime aligners). This shows your people are not even reading the fast track form.

    Then, when I called and asked to have the charges reversed (because they were never authorized), the agent told me the charges would be reversed and I would receive an email confirmation. By the next day, I never got an email, so I called back only to find out that the agent from the other day had not, in fact, reversed the charges. These are problems that make me not want to trust SDC, and strike me as shady business practices. I hope this is just some kind of lack of training, and I would appreciate an explanation for these issues. I want to use SDC, but am now hesitant.

    I started with SmileDirectClub last November and getting set up was easy. I made an appointment, found the office, and I was there for 40 minutes. It's neat how they have the wand that they put in your mouth, and you can look up on the computer screen to see exactly your teeth and gums, every little millimeter of space. In a month, I noticed a change more in my top that didn't need it as much because it was just little things and then it was straighter. I originally had gone in because I wanted my bottom teeth done, and the girl that helped me told me that it was the same price no matter if you do one or both, so I did both. Actually, I needed the top done, also, ‘cause they're a lot straighter than they were.

    You have to do the 22 hours like they say, and be mindful of the time that you've worn it yourself so that you can readjust your time frame if you need to. There was one day that I had taken them out to eat something and then I fell asleep that night, so I didn't wear them the next day. You have to know to adjust your time. If it’s for that week, make sure you adjust the time accordingly. If I did it for six hours, I always adjusted and gave myself an extra day. They sent me an email saying, "It's time to change your aligner." On the email, you can touch a button that says, "Reset your schedule," and you can put it off for a day or a week.

Then I heard nothing back for a month, then I emailed asking what the issue was, and was told to send pictures. So I did, then nothing for weeks. So I emailed again, and was told the same thing, that I need to send pictures. I have not heard back again.

    I am very interest to do the treatment, however, my plan has been diagnosed as possible only if I use 22hours/day. I have done some tests during the day, considering my normal working and eating hours I would need to take them out average of 4 hours. So I will use it only a max of 20 hours/day.     They sent me aligners one time where all the numbers were mixed up and so they had to send me a completely new set. That really delayed the process a lot. Then I had to get a new retainer because I got a retainer that was supposed to be the end, but my teeth were not straight. So I had to do another six aligners after that. Between the additional aligners that I had to do and then the gap of waiting for aligners, the process got to be a while. But my teeth are a lot better than they were. Everyone at SmileDirect was really nice and easy to get ahold of. They resolved issues as quick as they could. My one tooth really bothers me but I'm overall happy.

    I purchased the aligners in 2019. The Smile Direct Club aligners have caused me a number of issues, cheek and gum damage, migraines, jaw pain and neck pain, and more. In addition, and to my utmost disappointment, the Smile Direct Club aligners did not work at all. The Smile Direct Club aligners are poorly designed (cheap plastic) and ultimately, were not designed for my teeth (defective).

    I have attempted on multiple occasions to have the Smile Direct Club aligners redesigned to fit, and requested that I receive a refund and cancellation only to be requested to jump through hoops with no clear end in sight. Smile Direct Club have agreed to waive all future payments, however, continue to take money out of my account. Smile Direct Club have continuously submitted inconsistent and unfair responses in respect of my issues. Smile Direct Club have had no remorse in respect of COVID-19 circumstances and inability to gather the evidence they require in order to receive a full refund. I intent on commencing proceedings and lodging a formal complaint with ACCC.

    The impressions kit was great. Very informative instructions that were easy to follow. The issue I had was with billing. Included in the impressions kit was a card that you can put your credit card info on and make the full payment to that card. I put my HSA card number on the sheet, stuck it in the box and mailed it out. Thinking everything was going to be fine. When my aligners shipped out, I noticed I was charged the full $1800 dollars on my personal card. No problem, I'll just call and have them switch it. It took 3 calls and a chat session to get it straightened out. I'm still waiting to see if I will be refunded. Hopefully so and I can start to straighten my teeth instead of straighten out my billing problems.

    First off, getting the impression kit, using the impression kit, and the offers to get started have been great. Where it falls off for us is when we try to get our insurance involved. Per a phone call to our insurance provider, Delta Dental, I was able to confirm we get 50% of orthodontics covered, specifically for Smile Direct Club or alternatives, but they had to be coded a specific way when billed.

    I just submitted our THIRD insurance request through the website, which was recommended by the person I chatted with on your website today. The first we never heard back on (I think there was an account setup issue) and the second we got an email stating "We couldn't determine your coverage". I want to bill insurance first, then pay the difference. When it isn't easy to purchase something, people won't purchase it. I will see how this run goes, as we have everything ready to order with impressions approved, but if others make it easy, even if more expensive, we would end up ahead if we get stuck with the full $2k.

    The process in the beginning was a little rough. I wish I had more understanding of what kind of pain you're gonna experience the first couple of months. I didn’t realize the pain when you have the change the aligner, like how much there was in that overnight span. After the overnight was done, then it was more comforting. But overall, the experience was good. I didn't have anybody reach out to me from SmileDirectClub, which I thought was weird because they did promote that.

    I had a little bit of email from customer service because I was using my FSA account to pay for the first half of the payment. But now I'm getting harassed about needing receipts for all those transactions of the monthly installments. Which I didn't know was a big issue because I figured SmileDirectClub was listed as a dental thing, and they haven't denied any payments yet. It's kind of a hassle trying to get the receipts out of what each month was. So there was a little bit of miscommunication between trying to get receipts. I wish that the receipts are more accessible online or on the app. So it's easier for people to quickly get a copy in case they need it for purposes like that.

    SmileDirectClub was affordable and what they offered was something that I could do. My eye teeth stick out pretty far and my bottom front teeth were crooked. So they fixed most of that. I had one set of retainers that didn't work and to fix that one issue, they had me skip to the next set of retainers that worked, so it worked out just fine. I liked doing everything online and the only thing that was slightly uncomfortable was that sometimes the edges weren't shaved down on the retainers, so you had to file them down. Other than that, the process was pretty smooth and although we're having to do a little follow-up work right now, everything's good.

    SmileDirectClub has great customer service but the process only really works if you go to one of their centers and have them do the digital images. Otherwise, the molds are extremely difficult to work with. I started this three years ago then I finished the treatment and it only halfway worked, so they sent me back in when my retainers cracked because they weren't right. I did the imaging at a center nearby and I got done with my plan.

    When we went in for the consultation to wait to have my son's teeth fixed (they were chipped) until after we finished the treatment plan. Then a few week before we finished I called again to make sure we did everything correctly so his newly aligned teeth wouldn't get messed up. We were told we had to finish wearing the aligners and then call for a touch up where they would send a new impression kit. We did as we were told and it took a couple of weeks to get everything. His aligners no longer fit on his teeth after they were fixed. I really feel like we got terrible advice here.

    Now my son has been without aligners for a month and his teeth have shifted back so much. His beautiful smile looks like it did before we even started. I'm so disappointed and we are still waiting on aligners. Basically told sorry, but it takes 4-5 weeks to get them and he should have continued to wear his last one. Okay, but again they don't fit after the chips were fixed. We went from very happy to terribly disappointed.

    I started this product in November of 2019. The first 4 months was amazing but, come time to put March aligners in they didn’t fit. I called the phone number right away and could not get a representative in the phone. I continued to call then email asking for someone to reach out to me. No one ever contacted me. I finally reached someone in May after sitting on hold for an hour and her excuse for the hold time was she is working from home and was outside. She set me up with a link and retook my smile stretch pictures because by this time I had not had new aligners in for 3 months and by the first estimate I should have been done with the process. She told me she would send them to the orthodontist in charge of my case and someone would contact me within 3 days. I never and have yet to receive a call!! It’s been a year.

    I continued to pay thru September even though I had no treatment. I called and told them I wanted someone to call me because I did love the results but I was holding payment due to no service. Never received a call but they did turn me over to collections for over $1100 for a service I only had three months of. I have since tried to call and email with no response. I highly advise not doing it. It is great when it’s all fitting but as soon as there’s a problem you will never speak to anyone.

    I met with Paola last week and did the 3D scan to help determine if I would be a good candidate for Smile Direct. She made me feel so comfortable for the minute I walked in the door. My teeth are fairly straight, I never had braces as a child, but after doing the scan I realized that some of my teeth were shifting and could potentially shift more if I didn't do something to correct it. I will be signing up for the plan, and I loved that they have two options on how to pay for treatment. My insurance also offered a $100 price discount. It's worth checking if you do have dental insurance if they offer anything like that. The goody bag at the end with whitening treatment and chapstick was a really nice touch.     I wasn't necessarily impressed with my visit. I went to the store with expectations of speaking with a person experienced in the dental field. No notes were recorded when asked about my teeth and what I would change about my smile. This is reflected in the 3D rendering. I would compare Smile Direct Club to buying golf clubs from Walmart. While you can do it, the employee in the sports section probably won't be much help and you'll be left with a sub-par product.

    I was excited initially to get my aligners, but it turned out later when it was time to change to the second aligner it didn’t fit at all. SDC said they will send out a replacement for the second aligner. The replacement was as bad as the one they sent me initially. Moreover, I wore my first aligners close to 4 weeks, which is almost double the time that was instructed and still, the second pair didn’t fit at all. Incredibly, they had no idea how to handle it; never did it occur to them to set me up with the dentist that was assigned to my case, for a remote evaluation.

    Having no option and having the impression they knew there’s a problem but wouldn’t admit it, I decided to cancel the agreement and ask for a refund, which was a $250 deposit. It’s now over a month and they are lying through their teeth with all kind of excuses as to when I will get my money back. Simply put: I never experienced tricks and manipulations for $250; this place has run amuck and no one knows what the other is doing. Save yourself some time and aggravation and go to someone else.

    I spoke with customer service representative in January who told me if I only did the lower teeth I would only be charged 50% of the price. When I went to the Smile shop to have 3D done I verified that the price would be 50% at that time as well with the person that was assisting me. It has come time to complete the order and the representative is saying that I will not be billed 50% due to only doing the lower teeth, that I will be billed full price despite being told by two separate people that the cost will be 50%.

    When I got to the shop on time, they were not ready. I had to wait ten minutes. They pulled up the wrong chart. The scan took forever. Felt like she didn’t know how. Then gave false timeline expectations for when the plan would be done. 72 hours. The scans were at 9:30am on 7/23. It’s now 8/2 and I still don’t have a plan. Customer service via phone has been even worse. Talking in circles with absolutely no answers given.

    The office was small and boutique. They had more than one small office in a boutique style office building. You never see a actual doctor during your visit. The person helping me did not really know what she was doing. She had to call for help. The person she called was not able to get the scan done on my mouth either. She was then instructed to use the device that was better technology. Overall, I just feel like everyone I come in contact with is just trying to get the two grand. They don't take your insurance information during the visit at all to see if anything will be covered by insurance. My correction will only take 4 months but they still want me to pay 2 grand.

    I try to be nice to anyone in customer service but it gets difficult when the company seems to have a policy of “transferring“ you to a dial tone if your problem is difficult to solve. My aligners didn’t work at all and when I went for a touchup and then another touchup which also didn’t work, they made so many mistakes, I can hardly remember.

    They sent me the wrong type of aligners, they asked me to get re-scanned the day after I got scanned because it was the wrong code, I got approved - but I need to get approved again for some reason in a different way. Over and over each one of these things takes 3 to 5 days and every phone call has transfers to dial tones. At this point, I have no aligners on the way and teeth that look almost the same as when I started. Every customer service person is friendly, but they all say “There’s nothing I can do but____, Which will take 3 to 5 days” And inevitably ends in a dead-end. I think the truth is this place is just a little shady. I should’ve gone with a real dentist.

    Even though Dental Assistant was very friendly, when I received my aligners, I got the wrong ones. During the visit at the shop, I clearly stated that I wanted the night aligners. However, I received the "standards". When I called to ask about this, the attendant for the dental service said that in the order written by the dental assistant at the shop there was no note about the night aligners. I felt like this last person I talked to on the phone was putting the responsibility in me for the error. Now, it's been almost a week and I haven't heard back from the office to see if they will exchange the wrong daytime aligners for the night time ones.

    I ordered the kit and did the impressions myself and then sent it off. I waited for approval and then they sent me my aligners. Every time I change the aligner, I could feel a little bit of a difference. Every time I put new aligners on, they were tough to put in. My teeth didn’t hurt, but I could tell they were moving. But I noticed a big difference at around the three-month mark. The only thing was that I noticed with my first set of aligners, I had to go out and buy a little router kit, like a Dremel, because they cut my tongue. Just using the nail file wasn't enough. So I bought a cheap little rotary tool and used it to soften the aligner and then I was good. I did the same with every aligner after that. But overall, I'm really happy with how my teeth came out.

    I was going to do the impression kit but I was very skeptical because I have a crossbite and my jaw wasn’t aligned correctly. So it took me a little while to go through with the process. I ordered the impression kit but I never sent it back. Then I got an email saying that the truck would be coming through and I could get a 3D scan. I wanted to go in and talk to someone at SmileDirectClub to make sure that it would be a good fit for me. So I went in, talked to somebody, and the girl assured me that I will be good. Even with me having a crossbite, she said I will be fine. So I did the 3D scan.

    My treatment went great. The only thing was that half the aligners don't fit properly. I had an appointment to go and get another 3D scan so my top aligners could fit properly. But I caught COVID and I had to reschedule. I haven't rescheduled yet. The bottom row of the retainers that I’m wearing now fit perfectly, but the top row doesn’t fit completely. My aligners were like that as well, but it was still straightening my teeth. It wasn't a big deal to me because I was going to be switching aligners within two weeks. With the retainer, I wanted to make sure they fit properly because I will be wearing them for six months at a time. But I'm happy with the outcome.

    I had to reach out to SmileDirectClub during the first day because it was really hard to put the aligners in. They should spend more Movemints when they're sending the kit. We constantly have to change the aligners but we won’t get so many Movemints, and sometimes, one Movemints doesn’t help. I almost went through half a bag of Movemints with my first aligner, because it wasn’t working out right. Other than that, my journey with SmileDirectClub was amazing. They did a good job with setting us up with some of the things that we would need. When I did have to talk to somebody, it was good. I really like the feature where they can video chat with us and see the problem that’s going on. Because it's kind of hard to explain to somebody what your problem is, but it will make it easier if I could just show what I’m talking about.

There's less space in my mouth and it's lighter. So I'm glad about that. But I didn't know is that I still have to have them on again even after I've had the whole treatment process. But then I remembered my sister had braces, and then she had aligners on for a year. So once the treatment was over, I had to put the aligners on all the time, then take it off and put it on again. That was a little bit annoying. But besides that, the process was good.

    I've finished my prescribed treatment and I still had a couple of teeth that weren't lined up right. I discussed it with them and they sent me more aligners, and my teeth are moving well. I was pretty pleased with the way they handled my request for a little bit more correction. We got COVID in the middle of the process so I had a lot of delays. But it's worked out pretty well. I've been happy with the process. For what I needed, SmileDirect did a good job. The aligners are really comfortable. I don't mind wearing them and they're easy to clean. Overall, my experience was real good.

    The impression kit experience was overall great, incredibly cheap and easy to do at home. My issue is with billing and customer service. I was charged full price before my insurance was factored in, I was also told I could not use the overnight aligners, then told I could, then another customer service agent who was much better verified I will need to use the regular daily aligners. I also submitted my insurance information online multiple times and customer service claimed it wasn't submitted, took 3 attempts. So my order was cancelled and a refund is now initiated so that I can get correctly charged with my insurance and HSA included in the price.

    It took a while to get ahold of customer service whenever SmileDirectClub would have me send them emails. But other than that, it was fine. The process was a little more painful than I anticipated, but it makes sense. My teeth aren't exactly where I would like them to be. But it has been over two years and at this point, I'm just ready to be done. They should have a more communication throughout the process of the aligners. They do a 90-day check-in and that's about it. There should be at least one check-in every 30 to 45 days.

    I went in to SmileDirect Club to see what my options were to straighten my teeth since my insurance doesn’t cover orthodontics over the age of 19. I got there 5 minutes prior to my appointment time of 12pm and wasn’t seen until nearly 12:30pm. I would have left but I didn’t want to be charged the $25 cancelation fee. Then while doing the scan, there were 2 employees that I spoke with who seemed very upset that I wanted to consult my regular dentist before making any payments just to be sure I was making the best decision. They asked me numerous questions and it felt like they were trying to bully me into paying the $250 down payment which is a big commitment. Then, when I got the treatment plan back, my expected teeth looked worse! It doesn’t correct the main tooth I am insecure about and it actually would put a gap in my front two teeth. Needless to say, I will not be going through with this and do not think it’s okay what I experienced. I do not recommend and hope no one is being taken advantage of.

    I called and told a SmileDirect representative on the phone I only wanted night time aligners. On the website it says we have a choice of daytime or nighttime but when I got the slip in it did not give me a choice for nighttime. So that’s when I called and specified. He told me to just send in the impressions and it specify on the paper what I wanted. This is what I did. Wrote in big letters only want nighttime aligners. Next thing I know I’m getting charged so I called up to make sure they were nighttime aligners and I was told they weren’t. I explained the situation and they said they’d look into it. Then I keep getting emails saying they're making my aligners. Not happy as of yet. Haven’t heard back from the girl who called last week saying it would be a few days before I should hear back.

    1- No in person sign up method. Must make appointment online.. Seriously you have enough iPads, why not have one ready to make appointments?

    2- Need a separate account for minors.. I did a Smile plan years ago for my daughter. When I made an appointment and checked in, it said I was a minor.. seriously... and then there was no way for me to fix this. I couldn't even reschedule with the different email. I literally had to call customer service while I was in the store, to make an appointment...

    3- I like how you are all happy and fluffy.. but sometimes you need to tone it down and be serious. Train your staff that they can be flexible and read the tone of the customer. Not everyone needs this kind of fluff.

    4- Your systems seems to be garbage. After 1 million happy smiles and this crap: the first time I looked at my 3D plan, my top and lower molars were switched. So bottom molars were on top and vice a versa. It wasn't resolved until the next day.

    5- More system issues; we gave them our two credit cards and now I am getting "processing errors" seriously. You might just want to conduct business via phone calls and dump your web experience.

    6- My wife got a re-scan and had to call customer service because she was switched from an 8 month 32 aligners to a 4 month 16 aligners... and the support person said "system bug"...

    Come on guys, if I am willing to write this long ** complaint, which is basically constructive criticism so that you get better, it must be bad. Please hire people to fix this. Also you don't need 10 people in a small office to do this. Scale back the staff and scale up the locations. Two small rooms, with one employee each. You guys schedule everything anyway, you can schedule around breaks and 8H schedules. It's not rocket science, but making people drive 1.5 hours is lame when the at home impression kit is trash.     I'm absolutely thrilled with my smile. I'm still wearing the retainers 24/7 right now 'cause I went to the dentist and they said my teeth are still moving quite a bit. We did the X-ray. My only critique is that I cut my tongue on one of the aligners. I tried to reach somebody to ask what the best solution was and I never got a response. I had to file that aligner down with the nail file they put in the box. Other than that, I had a good experience and I'd highly recommend SmileDirectClub to anybody. They offer reasonable pricing and it's very easy to do. If you do the Invisalign, you get the same thing, except for you have to deal with the dentist where you're paying three times as much. I have some friends that did the Invisalign through their dentist, spent $5,200 and I got just as good as a result as they did.

    I went to a consultation and SmileDirectClub did a 3D printing of my teeth then they sent me the aligners in the mail. I would switch them out every week or every other week depending on what the instructions were. That took five months and the only problem I had was one of my aligners broke when I was putting it in. I reached out to customer service via email, and I never heard back. I followed up and I never heard back. That went on for three weeks. Finally, I made a phone call and I was able to get through. They mailed me my aligners right away. I just had trouble getting through via email and email is a preferred method for me to communicate, so it was frustrating to have to call. Apart from that, I love the results. It turned out great.

    I felt somewhat confident that my teeth will be in good hands. During the review, I saw that there was a doctor's name listed on the computer screen, but the SmileDirectClub employee wouldn't let me have that doctor's name or contact information when I asked for it to follow up with some of my own questions. There were a few questions that the employee deflected and said that the doctor will be the one to answer if I'm approved for liners.

    Additionally, the employee said that my dental insurance, Delta Dental, is the only company that Smile Direct Club does not work with. She said that most customers get some coverage from their dental insurance, but it's highly unlikely that mine will provide any coverage. Because my dental insurance won't provide any coverage, the employee said that she would get me a discount, but only followed through with a fraction of said discount. It would have been nice if she followed through with what she told me in person. Lastly, I have not received any receipts yet from my visit. Half my payment was through my HSA account, while the remaining half was paid on my credit card. I'd like a formal receipt since I was not given a printed receipt.

    SmileDirectClub cost a lot less than Invisalign and their process was quick and painless. I wanted to straighten my teeth and my dentist recommended them. She said that my gums would be a lot healthier if they were straight and be easier to clean. The initial fitting was very easy. You just sit there and they do a 3D imaging of your mouth. They have to take several photographs then they make your aligners which come out great. I'm satisfied with my results and my teeth are very straight now. But when they first sent my aligners, they weren't made correctly and they had to redo them. Besides that, I've already recommended SmileDirectClub to a few friends.

    Terrible customer experience. I asked them if I could come early because I had a work meeting and was in a hurry. The appointment was supposed to be 30 minutes. They freaked out when I wouldn’t pay on the spot and sign their paper and pulled out the worst high pressure sales tactics I’ve seen. (I work full time in software sales for reference). The girl actually told me my scan would expire and if I didn’t sign today I would lose it. I don’t know how dumb they thought I was but they should be embarrassed. The appointment ending up taking almost an hour and it could have taken 10 minutes or less. One of the worst customer experiences of my life. I would have done the trays through the mail if I knew I’d have to deal with that **.

    Their initial prices was great. It was a 5 star experience until the end of my time and the issues with my teeth weren’t resolved. No problem, right? It was agreed I’d get more aligners at no cost to finish the job. Only it’s months later now and I don’t have the new aligners. Every time I reach out it’s a week before I get a response that only drags me along further. I reach out a week later and I hear that I will be contacted in 3-5 days. When that happens I’ll be asked for pictures...again...only to delay another week. Then I’ll be asked for pictures....again....and another week delay. This is unacceptable customer service and I’m close to filing a complaint with the attorney general.

    I started this process at the end of February. It’s now mid June and I still don’t have my aligners. The dental office canceled one of my appointments. Then the image of my teeth wasn’t properly uploaded into your system. Then my medical history wasn’t provided by the office that scanned my teeth. I have had to call repeatedly to check the status and every time I’ve been told that something wasn’t handled on your end or the dentist’s. You advertise that money won’t be taken out of my account until aligners are ready to be created. Not true. It was process March 25 and aligners were not ready to be created until the end of May. You advertise that I’d have aligners within 4-6 weeks. Clearly not true. How have you not been sued yet and how are you still in business? This business practice is totally unethical. Shouldn’t you have a system in place to make sure every box is checked so this doesn’t happen??

    After my initial treatment was nearing an end, no one contacted me to see if any adjustments needed to be made prior to ordering a retainer to wear. I instead was instructed to order a retainer prior to the end of my treatment period or risk not being covered for any adjustments that might be needed thereafter. I contacted you and was approved for a touch up on March 22, 2021 because the treatment had not successfully aligned my bottom teeth completely and has left a gap in my top front teeth. I was charged for the impression kit, sent it back and also sent the requested photos.

    A month went by with no contact. When I contacted you again, the photos could not be found. More photos were sent and a third set was also requested. After impressions and 3 sets of photos supposedly my new aligners are being processed for delivery sometime in July. The refund for my impression kit also took 2 months to process which is in the form of a VISA card instead of a true refund! After being bombarded with emails during treatment, everything stopped running smoothly thereafter.

    I considered that not all the treatments should have the same price. I consider it very unfair because I won’t use the same quantity of aligners as a person who needs a 12 month treatment.     My mouth will never be the same after using SmileDirectClub. I used them because I had a tooth out of align and it really bothered me. They seemed to have good reviews and a cheaper option. Well I went thru the treatment plan they gave me. At the end my teeth still were not straight especially the tooth. Plus I often told them the aligners were very tight and giving me a headache. They said it wasn't their aligners. To consult my dentist.? Since I wasn’t happy they did another scan and gave me more aligners. Still at the end of that set my teeth were not straight. So they did another scan and sent me more aligners.

    Well the pandemic happened and I finished up the last of the aligners and my teeth still were not straight. So along with them not being straight now my teeth do not even meet. It messed up my bite. Also, I started grinding my teeth as a result. Well I decided that i would be done and requested just send me a retainer which I figured would help me not grind my teeth. They said they could not since i was outside my treatment plan allotted time. I am very dissatisfied and now going to an actual orthodontist to fix what was messed up by their aligners. Btw the orthodontist with my insurance wasn't much more than smiledirect. I should have just gone there to begin with. Stay away from smiledirect. I have so many problems with my teeth as a result.

    The lady at the store couldn't really answer questions beyond obvious training bullet points. I got a follow up call from someone who eventually had to transfer me to 'the dental team.' She was using the same bullet points and couldn't really address why SDC is twice as fast. Nor could she address concerns about moving teeth too fast. She was less articulate than the marketing guy that transferred me to that team. Not really encouraging. Lots of guarantees about my money. But not really about my teeth.

    I was attempting to use a care credit card. Chatted in because I can't use it on the website and have to chat to do it.     My treatment ended in April. I called in immediately to request touch ups. I’ve called several times and keep getting told they were just reviewed or they were just approved. Then I was sent a text telling me my payment didn’t go through and that I need to call to pay when I already paid in full when I started treatment. The reps I spoke with all sound like they are reading from a script and they are not really helpful. I was told again today the touch ups are approved but it will take another 4-6 weeks to receive. The touch up request process has been longer than the initial order time. I’m still wearing my last aligner from almost 2 months ago. Not satisfied with this process at all.
