I have to say most of the people I talked to were amazing and very helpful. I was a little disappoint that I couldn't come to an agreement on the payment plan. I'm a medical student at Tulane University and my budget is really tight. I really want these aligners and I set everything up so I can get my first set but I really wanted to see if there was something more that can be done. I have an immediate family member in the military who received a pretty solid discount which I would have been willing to pay the whole thing cash right now if you guys could have given me a similar price. I asked about an EMS discount and they didn't help me with that either so I'm definitely not very happy about that.

After I had gotten my scan from the girl. I told her that I was definitely interested and my tax returns were coming in a few weeks and that I would pay in full. She told me to use care credit and to see if I could qualify for that to make a payment and get started right away. I told her I didn’t need to because I planned on paying in full right away. She said please just go on care credits website to see and I said I didn’t want to sign up for that because I’m working on buying a house right now and cannot sign up for anything that would change my credit score. She said it wouldn’t and just to see if I could get approved. So, I did what she said then it automatically signed me up for a credit card and my credit score decreased by 11 points. Which makes me very furious, because she said it was just to look. So, now I changed my mind about getting Smile Direct now. I told her I’d sign up in a few weeks for it and pay in full, but now she gave me a definite reason to not sign up.

Kit arrived; impressions taken and returned to SDC. Time passed then received notice the impressions weren't acceptable and that I needed to go to a SDC center for digital impressions. After scheduling an appointment and driving 40 miles round trip it became a lengthy process that included a sales pitch. I was promised follow up from SDC that would include a program description and clear time period required for my re-alignment process, nothing was sent. Then after more time passed I received an email stating the 3D scan was invalid and I was to return to the SDC shop for another scan. On March 8th I emailed back asking why I would need to be rescanned; on March 9th Katherine M replied stating the scans were actually done properly, that she would "escalate" the issue and that I would have a response in 3-5 days. Now 5 days later - no response?? This process doesn't build confidence and is unprofessional.

When the aligners would come or even my retainer, there would be too much plastic left on the end. It'd create a cut in my gum then I'd have to take forever and file it down with a nail file. That process is tedious and kind of annoying. But I had a positive experience when I think that when issues arose, they were more than willing to help me and pretty apologetic with that so I felt valued as a customer.

The scan was great and seemed thorough. The people were kind, but...I asked about financing and was told that I could see if I would qualify for a Carecredit. I voiced that I didn't want to affect my credit and that I don't want to be charged for anything. I also told them that I was not ready to make a decision to get aligners for my daughter. I was assured that I would not actually be charged anything and that I could make up my mind later. I was charged the full amount on the card. Surprise!! No good....

Let me just say this- I only had a small gap I wanted closed. Always had great teeth, regular check ups every 6 mo etc.. Today, I now have Stage 5 Periodontal Disease, receded gums and a cleaning now cost $1999.95 (insurance won't cover) vs free basic cleaning with insurance. Only change was using SDC. Also, 50% bone loss compared to my x-rays taken 6 months ago. DON'T DO IT!!! SDC won't assist with the mess they created.

I was worried that I’d mess up the impressions and have to wait forever to try again, just for the same thing to happen. I was so wrong. The kit got to me the very next day and I didn’t even end up needing a second kit. The kit comes with 4 total impression trays so if you make a mistake, they’ve already got you covered!

My smile didn’t turn out and when I informed the team, I was sent clay for more impressions, but have heard nothing since. I’m wearing my retainer at night, but haven’t heard back if this is what I supposed to be doing. I’m still waiting for the ‘finishing’ aligner, since my 1st set didn’t complete the alignment. It seems I’m back into the first timer queue and have no clue what’s going to happen next. Please advise and thanks for asking.

This was my second time doing the impressions and feel like the impressions didn't come out as good as the first time. On one occasion, the clay did not come out with the tray and remained stuck on my teeth so it got ruined. Hopefully the three impressions I submitted are good enough and continue my treatment.

I had the greatest experience with Yasmeen! She is very knowledgeable about the product and the process! I had to bring my Special Needs 26 y/o daughter, and she made us both feel so comfortable. She was very experienced with the equipment for the scan - it was one of the most pleasurable dental experiences!

Please note that this review has nothing to do with the gentleman that helped me. He was very nice. Smile Direct is a hard sell for one thing. I was being sold the minute I walked in the door. It was like an assembly line. There was nothing but photos of very young people all over the waiting room and offices. For your information, people of all ages are getting their teeth straightened. I also did not like the fact that I was responsible for getting reimbursed by my insurance. Smile Direct should be responsible for sending in my insurance papers.
Finally, I decided not to go with Smile Direct because there was something that just did not feel right. About 2 years ago, I visited an orthodontist who specialized in Invisalign. After my free consultation, she showed me what needed to be done. She said that my teeth would take the maximum amount of time to straighten and that was almost 2 years. My teeth are so tight that she mentioned that they would sand down less than a millimeter from two of my teeth to make space for the movement of my teeth. This all made sense since my mouth is very crowded. I was really shocked when Smile Direct said that it would only take 4 months to move my teeth and no sanding would have to be done. Almost two years to only 4 months made me extremely skeptical again. As the old saying goes... if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

Updated on 03/09/2021: I read the response from Smile Direct Club. Totally unsatisfied. Do you guys know how many times I asked everyone, including a Julie on the phone? She told me that it was fine to just cancel everything. She'd be frustrated too because there is absolutely nobody who can help me and she cannot get me her supervisor. They all said they cannot give me any email addresses, other than customer@smiledirectclub.com. When I email that email, it says I have been blocked. So, I'm sorry but I will just be returning. Ya'll also have my number on file I'm sure, as well as my email address. So no thanks.
Original Review: I have recently purchased the aligner from a promo I found on Instagram recently: NYNY18KIT2021, on March 5th. When I was checking out, the total showed $18. AFTER checking out and checking my US BANK acct, I saw the order was purchased for $29. I strongly dislike being lied to or deceived. Every time I sent a message to SMILE DIRECT CLUBS customer care support team, they responded back to me without answering ANY of my questions. They dismissed everything I had to say, Douglas F. and Amalia V. and Diana G (Dianna actually closed her chat on me today just because my message was 2 minutes too long), Completely useless and waste of my time.
So today I called in to complain, and the lady on the phone was also pretty dismissive with my concerns as well. If you're calling for something simple, they will be helpful I'm sure. But these customer supports don't care about complaints when the customers have been wronged! So I cancelled the entire order, I'll go with byteme as they are newer with better reviews and cheaper options. I strongly believe the Instagram post for the FAKE promo code should be taken down immediately. I also see that this website ALSO has the same promo code up, AND this page was updated 3 hours ago! very interesting! so does it work? Or no?
I will be commenting on the next fake promo for smile direct club to allow consumers to fully understand the fraud behind this company, as well as their love to waste people's times. Emailing customer support is a joke. When we try to reply back to the same ppl, it doesn't allow us to. We have to send a whole new message to another customer care support, wasting more time, receiving the same 'no help'. When I called due to the promo code incident in today, I was told this was a promo code only for December 2020 to Feb 1st 2021. It is March 8th. She then gave me a fake blocked email address, wasting more of my time, so I will write my review on this website instead. TAKE DOWN YOUR FAKE PROMO CODES AND STOP WASTING PEOPLE'S TIMES! PLEASE. I ordered my impression kit in December 2020. I took the required photos, completed my impressions, and mailed the impressions back to Smile Direct Club on 1/4/2021. My impressions were received (according to USPS AND my SmileDirectClub account dashboard on 1/6/2021.) After two months of back-n-forth emails, I FINALLY received the plan for my new smile. I kept getting the same basic response from all of the Customer Care Advocates... to "please allow 3-5 business days...". A couple of them actually said they never received my impressions... even when I sent them pictures and screenshots of the scanned package, receipt name, etc. Well two months later, I finally received the plan. And you know what??? They are texting me, calling me, emailing me, etc. almost non-stop. Where were these people when I needed answers???

I took a day off work and visited the closest Smile Direct center, which was nearly an hour away in King of Prussia. My experience there was very positive and the associate that took my scan was great. I was told that everything looked good and I would have my "smile plan" ready in 72 hours. Two weeks went by and I did not hear anything or receive any updates in the portal. I called and was transferred around but they said my case was rejected (?) but they would inquire why and contact me. I did not hear back for another week but when I went into the portal I found that they now had a "smile plan" for me. However, the video for the teeth in my bottom jaw showed no movement at all, just a fairly minor correction to my top jaw.
I called for clarification and they said my bottom teeth were too crowded for their aligners to work, but my top teeth should respond well. I asked what the price would be if I was only receiving the top aligners now, and IT WAS THE SAME PRICE?!? When I remarked that it did not make sense that I would still pay the full amount and only get 1/2 the benefits, the operator offered a party $150 off. I told her I still didn't think that was reasonable she quickly offered $250 off but only if I ordered that day. I told her I would think about it but probably not interested and would get a second opinion. This seemed deceptive and high pressure for dental work. I will see if another company is more reasonable.

These include the remote orthodontic assessment, impression capture and digitization, lab setup fees, and remote monitoring during treatment. I chose SmileDirectClub for the fact that I had opportunities to make payments. Through my insurance, they make you pay in full instead of payments and this was just a cheaper option. The process was very easy. I really wanted to fix everything about my teeth but mainly the crowding on the bottom half. The results are great. And I've been really pleased with customer service. My treatment went a lot longer than it was supposed to. I had gotten pregnant during the process and couldn't complete it. Customer service was just so understanding when I told them that I needed to get a whole new set and start over. And they didn't charge me extra or anything even though they could have. Overall, the service that I received was amazing.

I sent in my impressions for a touch up because my teeth are not straight after completing my treatment. Before doing this I received an email from you saying I need to order a retainer right away. You should have emailed me asking if I was satisfied with my treatment, are my teeth straight, etc. Never got that email. So I ordered retainers & now I'm out $100 bc I need more aligners. No one told me if I am supposed to continue to wear my last set of aligners or the retainers while waiting for my touch up aligners to be made. Also, how long until I get my touch up aligners? No word on this either.
Customer service is lacking at Smile Direct. I really want to like the product, but your lack of customer service makes it difficult. I've sent multiple emails and my questions aren't answered. I've called and the lady I spoke to didn't really sound like she had any idea what was going on. Just received a letter today asking where my impressions are. Don't know what that is about?? I sent them in and got an email saying you got them.

The process was smooth. I was well-informed along the way and what to do and what not to do. But the result is not quite what I expected right towards the end. As I look in the mirror, it seemed like one tooth did not straighten just a milli-fraction. I contacted the company two weeks ago and they said they would get back to me in three days but I haven't heard anything yet.

So far, your service has been amazing. I’m happy with my 3-D treatment plan but some changes need to be made in order to make my plan perfect before I purchase my aligners. My right side of my mouth from top to bottom looks fine but my left side is a little concerning to me. The aftermath of the treatment plan leaves me with a wide gap on my left top side of my teeth when I asked for no gaps at all. If it’s possible, could we make that gap lesser and make sure there’s no crowding and no gaps at all. I know that it’ll be a little tricky because of my missing tooth on my left side of my top teeth but I really hope that we can figure something out so that I can have that picture ready smile.

I've been a member of club since September 2020. Original treatment plan was to be complete January 31, 2021. Last set of aligners caused damage to tissue in my mouth and required me to have an emergency dental visit with my Dr. He was not impressed and advised me to leave SmileDirect. I decided to give another chance. They requested I have a 3D scan done. I drove 1.5 hours to King of Prussia location. The location had a promotion for free whitening light/kit upon completing scan. I did not receive it upon completion. I wrote a Google review and Anna from the king of Prussia location requested I email her about the issue. She then advised me that due to me being there for a touch up I was not eligible. This company sucks and I'm now going to head back to my regular Dr. And see about beginning the process of a possible malpractice suit.

Everything was great until I opened my box and found no bottom aligners. I don't recall anyone telling me I was only getting the top aligners. I called customer service and they couldn't tell me anything. I am so disappointed, this is far from what I expected.

I had already been to my dentist and had asked about their options but it was really expensive. I figured I wasn't gonna do it. When I've seen the commercials for SmileDirectClub, they were talking about it being affordable. I had checked online and it was a lot more affordable than my personal dentist. I looked at some reviews and figured I might as well try so I did it. I went to one of the pop-up stores and they scanned me and talked to me about the options. From there, it kind of took off and it was easy.
My experience so far has been good. Initially, they had set me on the four-month plan. I didn't have a really bad crooked teeth. It was just maybe four teeth that needed a little bit of fixing. Towards the end, my bottom teeth were completely straight. I liked the way it looked. They're perfectly aligned. I just had a couple problem areas still on my top teeth so I went back to get a rescan and they approved me for a second pair of aligners. That was another two months.
I had just gotten rescanned again because it was still the two problem teeth that I feel didn't get any change. They approved me again. A couple days after, they said that I needed to go back because the records weren't properly obtained so I had to get rescanned. They told me that they would contact me in a few days to see if I was approved which is odd 'cause I was already supposedly approved. But they do well. They've taken my concerns in consideration and are doing what they can to provide me with the best experience.

The email that was supposed to show my lower teeth straightened actually showed no change. I only need minor fixes so think I am paying as much as someone who had more issues. Needs to be under $1,000. Do appreciate the teeth whitening kit.

I liked that I didn't have to go to the dentist continually and update my program, and I also liked the price point of SmileDirectClub. It was cost-effective and quicker than most alternatives. I was happy from start to finish and the reps were great.

I was seen in person at the mobile 'bus' in Des Moines. I explained that I sought correction for crooked bottom teeth. When I spoke to staff who did the mouth scan, I was told they could do with these aligners. When I received the email showing my 'smile' after correction, the animation of my lower teeth didn't work. I called the 800 number to ask about this and was told they are unable to straighten my bottom teeth with aligners. This was very misleading and the dentist's report did not say anything about this.

The impression kits came with very clear and easy to use instructions. Simple kit to use and return, with a clear process online of what was happening. I used a promotion to get the kit, and everything was followed through with without any hassle whatsoever. Definitely recommend this service.

I have had braces before and the experience was not the most pleasant. However, coming to Smile Direct Club the process was incredibly fast and advanced with the different kinds of technology they used. My smile guide Dolores was very sweet and made me feel extremely comfortable and sure that my smile would form in the best way after this process. I would say she was the main reason I didn't have to second guess this one bit. Thank you Dolores!!

I started my smile journey from last May so I've been with Smile Direct Club for 10 months but last 6 months they didn't do anything right. They just kept ignoring my requests. I ordered my retainers on Jan 1st or 2nd 2021 and I haven't got them yet. I've been wearing 2 weeks aligners for over 2 months and they haven't even shipped my retainers yet. (Literally I asked them to ship them for 5 or 6 times and never happened.) My aligner won't last long anymore and I don't know how long I have to wait to get my retainers. I don't even know if I can get it. PLEASE PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME. Oh and one more, before I start SDC, I had crowded teeth and they fixed it but I've got space instead. I DO NOT recommend SDC. Think twice.

When I used SmileDirectClub, I started seeing results after a couple of months. It's been a year and a half now and I'm done with the process. Initially, my bottom teeth were crowded and they overlapped so they tried to fix that. Now they are definitely straighter. There is still one tiny spot but other than that, they're much better. I'm satisfied with SmileDirect.

The process has been good except for the payment options. My HSA did not have enough to pay for the full cost, so I needed to divide it onto two cards. That is not an option on your payment screen. I went to the chat window for help. It literally took a half hour to make the payment! I got the feeling the person was having to juggle multiple chats because there were long waiting times in between comments.
Then they could not send me a link, but I had to give someone my credit card information. This is someone I don't know, working from home. That seems extremely unsecure. I did not have a choice, but really did not like just sending someone all my credit card info. This process really needs to be improved. A multipayment option should be available and the agents should only be handling one customer at a time. It should not have taken a half hour to make a payment. I am looking forward to the aligners and hope that you will fix these other issues. Thank you.

SmileDirectClub was less expensive than some of the other teeth alignment companies. Their process is great and the results I've had have been remarkable so far. But, there's one thing that I have continued frustrations over. When they want me to send pictures, between my wife and I, we've never been able to successfully use the link to send them. I've told SmileDirect about that and it never gets resolved. It delays the process of being able to get my teeth straightened, getting timely responses, and getting the aligners.

Sarah was my Smile consultant and was courteous, thorough and on-time, and quick! She explained everything she did and was gentle and patient. Unfortunately, the bite alignment issue is not one that Smile can correct. The follow-up from Riley after I received my recommended Smile plan was too high pressured and annoying.

My teeth are not straight after the 5 month, 22 hour a day program, retainer didn’t fit, on my second set of impressions being sent out. They have had my impressions for 5 days now and no word back. I will probably have to drive an hour to the nearest dental office to do more impressions or scan. No one tells you how common this is, not even the company until it happens.

The cost was the main thing I went with SmileDirect. I also liked the ease of it. I was fortunate that the SmileDirect facility was nearby so I went there. They did the impressions and got everything rolling. I was supposed to be done in October but I didn't feel like my teeth were quite there. I went back to that facility and they took another look. Additional aligners were ordered for me and the second ones were done shortly after Christmas. I could have gone longer but I didn’t have the time to try to pursue that. It’s definitely worth pursuing as long as it's a fairly easy process. But if it's a complicated one, like a teenager, I don't know that that’s the best.

SmileDirectClub was everywhere. It caught my eye and I called the number. It was very easy, effective and fast. The treatment plan was initially six months. However, I had to get some touch-ups and those were an additional four months. SmileDirect has a very fabulous customer service. I can always reach them whether through their online chat or an email. I usually always hear back within a couple of moments, if not the following day. So, that's very nice.

I heard about SmileDirectClub through a friend who had it. My teeth were just messed up in the front. I just wanted a little fix instead of just braces. The process was decent, ut I got a second wave of aligners because SmileDirect said they weren't what they could have been. But none of them ever fit. I had to keep ordering them and doing the moldings. So, I just said, “Yeah, there's no point in doing the rest, so I'm just going to get the retainer.” Other than that, it was amazing. My teeth are straight as they could be.

I had one tooth that was really crooked in my front and it didn't start moving out until the last four sets. It was such a slow process. But I'm in my last week now and they're straight so I'm pleased. SmileDirectClub gave pretty good instructions on it. Every time I had to call and ask a question, it was answered quickly.

When I arrived at 75 S Broadway, was greeted by **. She was very friendly and personable. The office was clean and the procedures were sanitary. ** wore gloves and changed them after using the scanner in my mouth making sure to not touch anything before she did so. I felt very at ease. She was adept at using the 3-D scanner. When she was done she asked the other woman in the office to check and sign off on the scans. This woman was also very friendly and knowledgeable. It was overall a great experience.

After 2 weeks from receiving an email from the dentist that my photos were reviewed and all was proceeding, I received a phone call yesterday telling me they were only proceeding with my top teeth. I went there for my bottom teeth not my top. They are scammers!! Would not recommend to anyone.

It was a little bit more convenient with SmileDirect's payment plans and they had really good reviews. I had a lot of overcrowding teeth and teeth overlapping at each other and the process has been great so far. I was supposed to complete my first round and I noticed my retainers weren't sitting right. They had me go and do another 3d scan. They gave me an option and I decided to go with that. It's gonna take me a little bit longer, but at the same time, I'm still really happy because it has moved my teeth. It's not as crooked anymore.
They always call me every once in a while and even email me and say that I'm at this part of my treatment and to give them some touch-up photos to see the progress, if it needs any minor changes or not. They're not only affordable, but they also offer overnight treatment too so one doesn't have to wear them all day. I wish I would have known that before going into where I can wear it like 10 hours a day, instead of the 22 hours a day.

My aligners have made a big difference and when I completed my first full set but was still not quite where I needed to be I was assisted very quickly and sent a new impression kit to get an idea where I was and continue at no extra cost. No hassle!!! I was so grateful and surprised. Now both myself and my 2 daughters will be in aligners all at the same time. I highly recommend Smile Direct to everyone I can. Terrific customer service.. It’s rare in this day and age.

I had one tooth that was really going out of line and it was driving me crazy. SmileDirectClub had a Groupon. I went through the first set of aligners and they agreed. I did another impression and they agreed. I also had to go through a second set of aligners. The one part of the retainer I have gaps out a lot, but I just don't have the energy to ask for a new one. On the whole, it was very good. Every time I had to call for something, they were terrific.

I am currently on my 4th treatment plan. I had minor adjustments to be made from the very beginning. I’m very disappointed, frustrated and very concerned that a year later my smile is still not right. I have asked for a refund, but that has gone unaddressed/ignored. I have voiced my concerns in detail each time, but each time I am having the same issues. The reps alway insinuate that I’m not following the instructions. I have followed every instructions to the T. I have had fit issues, poorly made aligners to where I had to cut and file them and still had to endure cuts on the sides of my mouth and gum swelling. Which prolonged my treatment due to having to take a breaks to allow my gums to heal. I have overlapping and spacing in my teeth that I didn’t have before. My bite is off.
I just hope SDC has not caused permanent damage to my teeth. They have taken no accountability, besides doing more 3D scans and sending me new aligners that are not addressing my issues, only making them worse. I have informed SDC of everything in this review. I am so disappointed and afraid that I will have to spend even more money to fix the damage that SDC has caused. I wish I would have gone to an orthodontist from the beginning, because I will have to spend even more money now on top of what I have paid SDC. Worse decision I have ever made!

SmileDirectClub was a lot cheaper. It started off with the whole thing online where I submitted my insurance information and they checked it for me. It came back I found out that my insurance was willing to pay for half of it, so I went ahead and went through it. I was having an issue with my aligners because they didn't fit quite properly. My top one fits fine because I could tell, it was next to the gum, but my bottoms were not. I had a lot of spacing up underneath my bottom one really bad. I called up their customer care, and they told me to come in for refitting and they would get me some new aligners. But before I could get into an appointment, everything got shut down because of Covid. So I went through the spring and summer just trying to make those aligners work and it really didn't work.
Once things started opening back up again, I called SmileDirectClub back because technically, I had gone beyond my treatment session and it was over. But they told me to come back and they would refit me. So I went back in and I got refitted. Then they sent out the aligners to me and they worked great. So the second one fit fantastic. They straightened my teeth up. I'm very happy and pleased. The other issue I have too is my last set of aligners. They have a tendency of readjusting my back side teeth that don't really need to be aligned. Every morning I wake up and it takes a little bit in the day to straighten out.

I did not order because I only wanted not needed a small change in my bottom teeth. According the the tech I dealt with the day of my scan someone would be calling me with a discounted price due to the fact that it is only my lower teeth. No one has called me and your company is asking me full price which is double the cost of real braces with an actual Dr. You really need to improve your pricing and process!!!

At every possible step of the process I've selected night aligners. My order came in and they were daily aligners. I chatted and called in for support and was told they would need to re-review my request to see if I was a candidate for night time aligners. A week goes by and somebody from SmileDirect calls me for a survey, I ask about the status about my request for night aligners. He looked through all of the notes in the system and said he sees my aligners are being printed for night time aligners. I wasn't notified of this (positive) change of events or that a decision was even made. I log into my account to find the order number for this survey and see on my account that they have me down again for, wait for it....daily aligners! Not sure if it's worth my time to chase this down again, I may just ship everything back and ask for a refund.

SmileDirectClub was a little bit more affordable. They also had a lot of good reviews and it was something that had the support that you could call anytime so I chose to go with them. They offered reminders to switch aligners, which was really good in this busy life. The overall result, my bottom teeth don't 100% match the layers and I'm actually doing their touch-up program. My teeth were so crowded that it was taking them a little more to move. But they are probably 90% better than they have been and I'm pretty happy with my new smile. I just want to even my teeth a little more 'cause it does set a little lower. I will be perfectly happy once we get that fixed. SmileDirectClub is an easy and accessible way to straighten your smile at home.

I saw an advertisement on Facebook of getting a free assessment from SmileDirectClub instead of being charged for it, so I took the opportunity to do so. It was fun and exciting. It was new to see the machines and the innovations that they've come up with to do the images and the customer service was absolutely fantastic. The walkthrough and the communication that were given were phenomenal, too.
My bottom teeth were a little bit crooked, so the issue there is not too severe, but my top teeth were in a very severe condition. The two top were completely crossed over, so those have been a struggle. They told me that it was going to take six months for the aligners to be completed and now, I'm finishing my second year. So my bottom teeth are pretty much straight and I'm good with them. But I'm still trying to get the two front teeth unclipped and I'm constantly going back and getting reevaluated, so they could redo the teeth and give me new aligners. Even though I'm wearing the aligners as much as I'm supposed to, they get gaps because the two front teeth don't want to budge so much. So everything else is getting fine. But I'm getting huge gaps, which means with those gaps, I'm not getting full coverage of the move. So with that, I've had the reassessment done four times now.
I just finished doing my last one about three weeks ago and I'm waiting for my new aligner again to come. So that process has been tight but my top teeth was severely bad so I understand and I have patience. And it's getting closer. My top teeth are a lot better now and all the other teeth have straightened except my two front teeth.
All in all, I'm satisfied with SmileDirectClub and I have referred a friend to them. With the price that I paid, you got to have a lot of patience with this type of situation because you can take the aligners out. It all depends on the person of how much consistency they have wearing them for the hours that they're supposed to wear them. They need to be stern and strict with that aspect.

I chose SmileDirect for the timing and the pricing. The results are phenomenal. I did one modification after the regular and it made a major difference. I was very happy with it. It turned out really well. I get compliments all the time and I've turned on probably about 10 different people. At least three have already done the process and at least two more are going to be doing it within the next couple of months.

I have asked about my insurance and provided the info. I was told they would check on it and get back in a few Days. Several days later I called to check and was told they would get back with me that sometimes it takes a few Days. Well my plan and aligners are now ready to purchase and still no word back about my insurance. I’ll go through a company that will at least try my insurance rather than one that won’t even check and get back with me.

There are many discount codes to purchase Aligners for a cheaper price. During this terrible financial times I wanted to use a code to be able to help bring the price down. All companies are suffering during this time. I chatted with someone and no codes could be applied. I still have those little holes in between my teeth that I can't get rid of because my mouth is that way. But I like it, in general. I would recommend SmileDirectClub. The experience itself was great, but the lie they told me wasn't. The woman made it seem like it was going to be simple as 1,2,3, which was a lie. Took all my bank info just to get denied! I told her I had one really crooked tooth before and after the scan. She said they would be able to fix it. I got a call today saying I cannot be helped, but they can do my top teeth, which I have no crooked teeth. Waste of time! FALSE HOPE.

Hi, I was really discouraged first of all by some reports I read online and especially one from NBC news Feb 18, 2020, it reported a horror story and other problems that other people have had. That really scared me away and then to add on top of that I received the 3D results email and it showed changes to my upper teeth but absolutely no change to my bottoms. For this kind of money I will use it towards an area dentist and have someone that can give me better results and care than Smile Direct Club. It’s a great idea, but the reality of it is much different.

I am very dissapointed with your service. All the emails I received from you all said someone would contact me to discuss the best option for my child. I never received a phone call. You all just took the money out of my account without permission. I even submitted information for insurance, and you all said insurance would cover some of the cost, but you all took the whole amount out. I am not happy, and will not recommend you all to anyone.

The kit was easy to use but I don’t think I will be buying the Aligners because of the price. I only need them for four months and don’t think it’s a fair price to pay for something for 24 months when you only need it for four. People who need it for less time should pay less money.

During my consultation I was told that all my problem areas could be fixed. I waited 2 weeks for a smile plan that is estimated to take 72 hours. Once my smile plan was complete I noticed the gap on my bottom right side did not as small as I would like. I chatted with a representative who told me the problem would be corrected. I waited another week for an updated smile plan. I reviewed the new smile plan and saw barely any changes to my bottom right side gap. I chatted with a representative again, only to be told that what I want to accomplish is not possible for SmileDirectClub. I wasted 3 and a half weeks, almost a month waiting to see a smile plan that is completely useless. I could have went a different route and have started a different treatment by now if I knew sooner that my desired smile could not be obtained using SmileDirectClub.

Getting everything set up was easy. It was very smooth. I had to contact customer service because I haven't received my retainers. When I called, they told me that it was on some hold. But they took it off the hold and sent them to me. My gaps were pretty big. The process took four months and it was pretty fast. I'm closing my gaps. They do free refinements, and I had sent my impression kit. But I haven't gotten any response back. I called the other day to the customer service and she sent a request, so they can give me an update. But I still haven't received any updates yet.

I liked the simplicity of SmileDirectClub and the pricing. The customer service was outstanding. I wanted to fix some gaps and overbite, and we started out with the moldings and sending them back. Then, I got my aligners. I had a problem with the aligner plan right before my treatment was done. So, they had to redo the whole kit and we did another plan. I'm currently on the new plan and so far, it's looking good.

SmileDirectClub was cheaper than getting braces. For the first two weeks, I wore them for 22 hours and then after the first two weeks of retainers, I wore them at night. I had to redo a little bit of the molding towards the end. It was one little thing that needed to be fixed, but they did it quickly. When I had to go out to the office in Jacksonville, they were extremely helpful. They helped me with everything I needed to get done. Everything went great. I was very happy with the whole process. I'm satisfied with the results. I'm done with the whole program now. I’m just with the retainers.

Whenever I started looking at the SmileDirect, I felt that it was more affordable. I had braces before when I was in high school. I quit wearing my retainers late in my 20s. And my front tooth had jutted back out, and it’s resting on my bottom lip. Whenever I wake up, I have this indentation in my lip that was sore, especially in the winter when it's dry or you get a cold and you're sick. As the day would go on, it would get better. But I didn't like to smile for my pictures anymore. I wanted my lip to quit hurting. I'm done. I just wear my retainers at night. I love my new smile.
Doing the contact on the computer is super easy. One time, I asked about the roughness of the retainers that SmileDirectClub sent. I asked them for different suggestions. It seemed like I had the same two places that every time I put the retainer in, those were the sores that would pop up in my mouth. I filed a lot and used a lot of wax. They gave me all the recommendations again, even though I was doing them, but it was helpful just to remind people if they're not following what they need to do. They were efficient.
I was worried when I got my retainer that I wear every night, that I would have the same issue. But I can tell the different quality of the actual retainer that we wear at night. And I do not get those sores. So, I would recommend. If there was some way for the retainers every week that they could file a little more. There was a lot of work. But I can smile big now. I tell people, “Be prepared that your mouth will probably be sore for about three to four months.” Because no sooner would I get my sores healed up, and then I would put another retainer in and it would start again. But knowing that it was short-lived, I could do it.

I had braces as a child but I am much older now and my teeth were starting to shift. So I knew that these aligners would probably do an excellent job, in which they did. I liked everything about the process. I liked that I was able to call. If I had questions, somebody answers. The aligners were comfortable. I could feel my teeth moving. I didn't need a whole lot of movement, but they really made a significant difference, and they look great. I love them. My boyfriend tried it on his teeth and SmileDirect told him that they weren't able to handle his case. So I like that because that was honest, rather than set expectations high and not be able to deliver.

It's less expensive than braces but it requires a lot of self-discipline. I'm still waiting to hear back from them again because I haven't gotten my retainer. They were evaluating to see if I needed to go use the aligners again.

The summary/title of my comments may seem harsh or unrealistic as a review for a teledentistry company. However, I can assure you, prior to or since, I have never experienced anything like what I’m about to describe to you. I began my treatment in March, 2017. Signed up online and paid up front to save a few dollars. Received my first impression kit, read through the instructions, applied my impressions and shipped them off. Positive, successful experience. But then nothing, and I mean nothing went right for the next nearly 4 years (I was told this would be an 8 month treatment). I won’t go into detail for every interaction. However, I will share some of the highlights - these are just a few.
1. Initially, I was sent a 2-week supply of aligners. This worked for a couple months, then they stopped coming. I emailed and called in an effort to find out what was going on. After several attempts, I was told “we are having manufacturing delays”. I can understand how this happens, I’m an easy going person. But the company made no effort to notify me of the delay, and response to my inquiries seemed to go ignored for weeks. It wasn’t until I posted a review online that someone from SDC took notice and responded to me.
2. After wearing the aligners for several months, I began to experience an improper fit. I contacted SDC to ask for direction and was told to take photos. No problem, I have done this many times throughout the process so I didn’t expect to have a problem with this situation. I took the photos, emailed them to customer service... then nothing... for weeks. I emailed them to find out why the delay and was told they never received them. I told them when they were emailed and that they do in fact have them.
Several days went by and no reply. Eventually, after a few more emails, someone responded and said they found them and confirmed that they were never forwarded to the appropriate medical advisor. A few days later, I received an email that new aligners would be manufactured and sent, but that would take the normal 3-4 weeks. Keep in mind, since I sent the photos roughly 4 weeks had already passed and I would have to wait another 3-4 weeks.
3. Although I have dozens of emails in my inbox (and sent items) to show negligence from the SDC customer support team, the communication problem highlighted above happened at least 4 times. This was recognized by someone at SDC about a year into my treatment. I was offered a free set of retainers as well as $200 refund. I was grateful and hoped the remainder of my treatment would improve.
4. Near the end of my treatment in the Spring of 2020 (yes, 3 years into the 8 month program), I reached out to SDC and asked for all the free retainers I was promised throughout my treatment period to be sent to me. I did this for one reason, I didn’t want to have to talk to them anymore. I knew my requests would be lost, ignored, or told I did not have any free retainers coming to me. And this is exactly what happened. I received an email indicating I did not have any free retainers coming to me. Of course I responded with outrage, but emotionally in control.
The countless problems that resulted in at least 6 offers for free retainers (this isn’t a count of all the problems, this was simply the number of times I was offered a free set) were not being recorded to my account by SDC customer service. When I explained this, I was told that I needed to provide proof. You may be able to image how this lit the fuse. However, I took a few deep breaths, gathered all the information I had and sent it back to SDC. In the end, they only honored 4 because some of the offers for free retainers were given to me over the phone. So their mistakes, compiled by more mistakes resulted in my loss.
5. Once SDC agreed 4 would be shipped to me, I spoke to customer support to have them shipped. The representative convinced me that ordering one at a time would be better to reduce the risk of lost or broken retainers. So I agreed to have only one shipped. It arrived, no problem. However, after using the retainers for a couple days, it cracked. I contacted SDC to have a warranty replacement sent. They did so, then told me I only have 1 more set of free retainers. At this point, I knew I made a mistake. After several emails and phone calls, they realized their error and told me I still had 3 more coming to me. So I asked them to ship both. They sent me 1 and indicated that only 1 was noted on my account. Over the next 5 months I corresponded with SDC to try to find out why and to get it corrected. Representatives responses to me ranged from, “yes, I see you have one more coming to you, we will ship it now” to, “we have no record of a free set of retainers for you”. I had to prove it once again by attaching emails and sending explanations. Finally, someone on their end placed the order. I received an automated email indicating I needed to update my payment method - no problem. Updated and I sent an email asking for confirmation that they are shipped. Two weeks and a few emails from me went by before I received a reply... “please respond with the last 4 digits of you credit card so we can process your order”. Emailed my response. Another week and another email from me went by before someone contacted me to ask me to confirm my shipping address. Several days later, I received a confirmation that they were shipped. Expecting them to arrive early March, 2021.
Their failures have not been intermittent. Over the years, they have proven incapable of communicating effectively and documenting customer concerns and obligations. Put simply, Smile Direct Club customer service is atrocious and not worth the discounted prices they offer. Make no mistake, the people I speak to and communicate with via email are nice folks; they seem to want to do the right thing. But they are not using a quality customer relationship management system or they are not properly trained. How that organization can operate and be successful is a complete mystery. Based on these absolutely outrageous experiences, I will never recommend Smile Direct Club to anyone. It seems as though they got my money and customer service after the sale was no longer important.

I've had gone to several free consultations for braces and none of them were in my budget or they would take too long, and they wanted me to get certain teeth removed. It was more cost-effective to just get SmileDirectClub. My front four teeth were super crooked like they were just pointing in all directions. I wanted to get those front fixed, even if the back weren’t perfect. I felt like the process with SmileDirectClub was super easy and quick. The results are amazing. I was so surprised to see them within the first two aligners I wore.

I had gaps in my front top teeth. I wanted to close them up. I had braces when I was 21. Now that I'm older, they started moving again because I had broken tooth. I just wanted to straighten them back out. I had my SmileDirect kit mailed to me. Everything worked out really good. SmileDirect was awesome. I would totally recommend them to anybody. It's definitely worth it.

I’ve been very pleased with SmileDirect. They sent a brand new set when the product I got did not fit well. Then there was a little bit of a problem when I reached the retainer stage. They had me do another scan and decided they wanted to add a few more weeks to it. Their professional service has been over and above. My teeth are wonderful. I went to a local orthodontist before I decided to do SmileDirect. I found out not only the price was going to be five times more, but it was going to be three times longer. So, while we added time for the several little glitches, it still was extremely short compared to what I had been told. It just couldn't be better.

My wife wanted straighter teeth in general and when everything was closed down last year, SmileDirectClub offered the option. The process was to get the actual mold, send it off, and send it back, and there were no issues. The results were excellent. We're very happy with them.

The prices was really reasonable in comparison to Invisalign. I had braces before and I thought that my teeth would move back pretty easily and they did. I wore my retainer every night, but they started moving again. So they felt that my bite was off. They fixed the bite but then there's a big space on the left side. So I've had to recently get another six months of alignment because they weren't perfect. But I'm not being charged for it. So that's fine. But they're not always the easiest to get ahold of. Some people really follow up but some don't. There's so many different ones that you end up going to that it’s a little confusing. I usually send them an email but sometimes that doesn't work. So I call them and they're good.

I feel great about SmileDirectClub. They've always listened to me. If I had a problem, they've always gotten back to me, as they say, within three days. I haven't always gotten back to them but they want to make sure that the people that they're serving are happy with the product and results. I've gone back to them and say, "It's not right where I want it to be." They'll go, "Okay, we want you to be happy." They said at the beginning, "Until you're happy with your smile, we're not happy," and I appreciate that.
I can see the teeth that needed to be moved have been moved so that the problem teeth can be moved into their place. Right now, I'm so close. The problem was my right front tooth because the next tooth over had pushed it. They have moved that second tooth back. If there's a photo of me, it looks like there's a dark strip right between my two front teeth because there's a little shadow 'cause that tooth is still turning in. I wanted that tooth turned back out. If we could get that done, it's great. If not, I have to live with. But I was so happy with everything else. It's a great deal and the quality is fantastic. My daughter-in-law is having some problems and she is going to get something twice as much as what I've spent for my aligners. I've gone way longer though. Like any type of braces or aligners, there were times where I wouldn't wear them for a few days because I had a sore in my mouth. But I'm always wearing them as much as I possibly could and I feel the change.

I am happy with SmileDirectClub up to this point. My teeth were not straight when I got finished with my program so I had to send in more molds and pictures. I finished in December and I still haven't got any more new molds yet. I got a response saying that they received the pictures and that I would hear from them in four or five days, but I haven't heard on any of that progress. I tried to call today and got a recording so I couldn't ask somebody. It said something like my new aligners would be shipped out in five weeks. That's going to put it out almost three months to finish. It's going to be like starting over. It's been a long process in between and I wish that things move a little quicker. I wish I could call and a person would answer the phone.
Other than those, it's working and there was improvement. It's sure a lot nicer than braces. You don't have to go in every month or however to have things adjusted and fixed and it's certainly a lot cheaper so overall, I'm satisfied with the program. They guarantee it if you keep current on everything, like I had to order my retainer and wear it until the new ones came out. It's a good program and I would recommend it to anybody.

One of my friends posted a picture of him wearing the box of SmileDirectClub that he got in the mailbox. He started wearing those invisible aligners and said it worked out great for him. That was where I got the idea from. The main thing I wanted to fix was the gaps that I had in between my teeth. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't like it. I wanted to have a perfect smile.
There were some ups and downs with the process. Not everything went smoothly like I thought it was gonna be. The main concern was reaching out to them when I have multiple questions was a pain. It was hard to get in touch with one person. Every time I would send an email, multiple people would reply from SmileDirectClub and they didn't know exactly what was going on. But everything else went great. I'm still in treatment so I'm still wearing the aligners but it's working out great. My smile is looking better and I have a brighter smile. I feel like I'm taking better care of my teeth than I used to. I feel great and I'll recommend SmileDirectClub to my friends if they ever need help with their teeth.

I got these aligners to fix the gap in my front teeth. They hurt a bit but I persevered. I followed all the instructions carefully and the first day I was done with them, the gap started to return. I wore the last set I had for an additional 2 months and the same thing. One day of not wearing them, the gap started to return. Now the gap is back to what I started with. I wrote Smile Direct twice and have not had anyone respond. A complete waist of $2000. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY/PRODUCT.

After completing two plans and seeing absolutely no results I am trying to get a partial refund. I left an email requesting a refund (not expecting to hear back anytime soon) and to my surprise I had a voicemail the next day from a representative, thinking that was odd because I never heard my phone ring. I called back and unfortunately they were not at their desk, so I left a voicemail.
The next day, as I'm on my phone, a voicemail notification pops up (with no ringing of my phone), it's another voicemail from Smile Direct, I call back instantly, and no surprise... I was sent to voicemail again. So it looks like I'll be playing phone tag with the company until someone decides to pick up the phone and speak with me. They like to provide the illusion of "great customer service".. but don't be fooled. Just go to an Orthodontist in person if your interested in straightening your teeth. I have close to perfect teeth, just wanted to straighten one front tooth a bit, so I cant imagine how these aligners could work for individuals that have a whole mouth of crooked teeth. Bottom line.. spend the money and go to a real Orthodontist. There's just some things you can not do online.. This being one of them! I f you still decide to go through with Smile Direct after reading this, Goodluck...

Unfortunately my experience wasn't good at all. I ordered my first impression kit May 20th, 2020. After receiving them in the beginning of July, started my first aligner July 6th. It was extremely painful but that is part of the process. The issues started with aligners that weren't covering my teeth 100%. I felt my back teeth moving but not my front teeth because the aligners didn't fit properly. They promised to gave me a new smile in 4 months. Obviously it didn't happen, after the 4 months my front tooth barely moved (which is the area where I have issues). I had to call on October 13th and let them know. They said it was normal, that they were sending a new kit at no cost. After sending it back, they had to review everything and give me a new 2 month plan.
I got the new aligners November 10, so imagine if you have to wait that long with aligners that don't fit in your teeth. Obviously, they will go back to the same place. Because it's impossible to have an aligner in your mouth that doesn't fit! The first aligner was perfect, they never sent me an aligner that fit so properly like that one, but it only lasted a week, after that the same issues started. Aligners that don't fit, don't cover my teeth 100%. On December 2020, I gave up of this company. Now January 2021 I am trying to call, cancel my account and have a refund but obviously they don't. They say someone will call but no one does. I do not recommend this company! Long periods of time waiting, that is not healthy for your teeth. Wrong aligners that don't fit and now, they don't want to give the money back or cancel the account.

I've always wanted to wear braces. My upper teeth are straight, but I wanted my lower teeth straight. SmileDirectClub is advertised and found out that there are three of them in town and one of them had the machines that go in and they stick it in your mouth. They were able to get the 3D imaging in my mouth and it was the right price. They were talking about $1,800. My sister had braces 10 years ago and they were 5,000. So I thought what a great deal.
What they needed to do was rotate a couple of upper teeth and straighten out my lower teeth. Since you get a new tray almost every week, they send them all to you at once. I take it out of the package, I put it on for two weeks. The first one I put on hurt like the son of a gun, but by the end of the two weeks, it was loose and I went to the next one. My first batch through was 12 weeks but then it wasn't quite right. I still had gaps in between my teeth. I could tell that by how much food gets packed in them. So they sent me a tray to get an impression. I sent those back. They sent me nine more trays and my teeth came together. Now I'm just wearing my retainer.
It was a wonderful deal. It'd certainly be faster than Damon braces like my husband went through. You used to have to go back to the dentist once a week or once every two weeks, and then you bend the wires and then you'd be sore for days. Whereas these, if it hurts, you can take them out for a little while. I clean it in peroxide because I tend to get a biofilm on them if I've worn them. I drink tea so they turn brown after a while. But I just soak them and they come back clean again. I would just do that for 15 minutes before I go to bed. I would recommend it to anyone. I love my new smile. It's perfect.

My journey with SmileDirectClub has not been smooth. After beginning my treatment in October 2020, I was excited to receive my 6 month set of aligners. However, much to my dismay, any bottom row aligners after Month 1 Week 2 were far too small to fit. I received two replacements that also did not fit either. I had waited only a few days for the first set of replacements (that didn’t fit) but had to wait a little over a month for the second set. It wasn’t until I had called the company to inquire about my order that I received the set a few days later.
Currently in January 2021, I had sent back my impressions kit which I was notified had been delivered to SDC on January 6 and I would hear back in about 3-4 days about whether or not they qualified. On January 17, 2021, I was forced to call again to inquire about the status of my treatment only to be told that it will now be 3-4 days from January 17 before I hear anything.
I’m trying my best to be patient but after paying over 2k, anyone would hope they don’t have to keep chasing a company in order for anything to move. This company is coming off quite unorganized in the way they handle clients. The customer service reps have been kind to me and I appreciate their patience. Whenever I have to explain my situation to their customer service team, they’re always shocked at the continuous standstills I’ve faced so far. My treatment was supposed to end in April 2021 but that’s impossible and I still have to wait to find out if my impression kit is usable along with a 3-4 week wait to even receive my aligners. I still have faith in receiving decent results but everything in between seems to be very messy.

Day one they didn't fit right. Contacted and they ask for more pictures as no sites were open halfway close to look at them because of the Pandemic. I sent the pictures in, they then sent me an impression kit, I sent that in and they sent some new aligners.. The new aligners still did not work right. They sent a second impression kit which took 2 weeks for them to get for some reason as we tracked them from Texas to Tenn. to Washington State back to Tenn. They sent then a retainer which also does not fit right. SO from day 1 they have not either fit nor have they worked to straighten the upper teeth. Contacted them Again. A person named Daniel R. quality specialist he told us we should be able to get either a refund or cancelation of payments, in which they are still taking payments out. I may have to do a stop payment at my bank to get resolution. I am Not Happy with them, even after contacting them Multiple times.

I signed up back in June of 2019 with SmileDirectClub and when they shipped my first set of aligners, they didn't fit. They would flare out a lot. I went for another scan a couple months after that and I went for a 3D scan. I got those aligners in the mail four weeks later and I still had the same problem. I couldn't talk and I couldn’t wear them. That was October of 2019. After I got the aligners around December of 2019, I moved to Florida and I decided to get another 3D scan last January in Miami. The tech told me that it was good and that she got my gum line. I waited and waited for my aligners in the mail, then the pandemic hit in March. I called and SmileDirect said that they would be sending them shortly. I got them the first day in May of last year and that was when my treatment started, which was a year later.
Maybe the technicians that they had in Walnut Creek were not able to get a right 3D scan of my teeth. It was ridiculous but I was not upset. It happens. I was supposed to be done with my treatment in September. The top teeth were okay but the one tooth in the bottom was not moving. So, I went again in September and they gave me two more months of treatment. Then, I went back two months later and they gave me two more months. My last scan was back in December and I got two more months too. So, I’ve been dealing with that for a long time. I don’t mind it because we can’t go out and we can’t do anything. I’m mostly working from home. I go to the office to check the mail and prints. I’m wearing my face mask. So, it’s okay.
SmileDirectClub is affordable and effective but maybe because they have so many customers, it's not as fast as other services that I heard of, like Candid or Byte. SmileDirectClub takes longer to ship aligners but I’m happy with the results of their process. Other than the one tooth, everything else is like the 3D image that I was given when I signed up.

I started researching SmileDirectClub online when my doctor said I should do Invisalign. I read the reviews and it sounded like the exact same thing but a lot cheaper. I’m 62 and my teeth started moving out of alignment. I had a few teeth that were bending inward due to stress when I was gritting them. I went through a process of the first six months but then, I still had some problems. SmileDirect sent me another six weeks and that seemed to correct the problem. I love my smile. It’s very nice and convenient. My teeth feel a lot better and I collect a lot less food in my teeth. It was a wonderful experience. I recommended them to other people my age who don't wanna go through the constant barrage of going to the dentist every other week.

I liked SmileDirectClub price and ease of use. I had braces as a teenager and retainers at the end. I failed to use the retainers properly, so my teeth were not straight. So, I just wanna get them straight and I'm happy with the results. It was fast. One of my sons is using a different service and he’s been doing it a lot longer than I have, and he’s still not through. I’ll probably be wearing retainers for the rest of my life but just at night. It’s the price to keep them straight. SmileDirectClub was painless and it has great value. My smile is the best that it has ever been.

I first thought this was a great solution to straighten my teeth. Unfortunately, you are left to yourself with very little support. The aligners often do not fit correctly and are painful (not from the teeth being aligned but because of the fit). I started the treatment three times because the aligner did not fit well it was too painful. I finally figured out I needed to make the numerous adjustments to the aligner. I was under the impression the aligners would fit automatically. The treatment took much longer to do because of all these inconveniences. Pay more and get the treatment done by a professional with in person follow-ups. It is much more beneficial, less stressful and more effective. Or they should charge much less than 2,495$.

Customer service seems non-existent when trying to reach them through email. I've contacted them 4 times through email, but I never got a response back. However, the product is great and they do have great deals that can't be beaten. I've bought the aligners for my child and she's had them for 3 weeks now. It seems to work so far. They give you everything that you need. The only cons is they will never respond to you via email. The only way to reach them is through phone, but you usually have to wait a few minutes or wait for a call back.

SmileDirectClub seemed to be the most convenient based on the location of their store. The price point was very sane compared to having put four kids who'd have braces at $4,500 apiece. Everyone was very supportive and very amazing. I had a couple of issues based on the initial program I went through. It didn't quite turn out and I wasn't fully satisfied. But once they found that out, they got everyone involved that needed to be and they put me on a new program immediately. Now, it turned out exactly how I wanted it. I love my smile now. People look at my mouth and they'd ask what happened. I was a pretty extreme case and it drastically changed.

Worst customer service ever. I’ve been sending email and calling for a dated invoice to be able to submit the claim to my insurance, and there is no response to my emails. The phone agent told me they will send it but again I didn’t get anything. Moreover, after I submitted the payment information, the price increased by 100$, they charged me the extra without even a notice although this was not what I signed for. The agent told me that they will send me a free retainer, but there is no records of that anywhere. When you buy anything, sometimes the customer service experience makes you hate the whole process even if the product is good. I will think thousand times before recommending it.

The work was good. But there were just certain parts of my lower teeth that didn’t move exactly where they should have. So that was why I went to the second treatment. But I still don't see the final result that I wanted. I haven't really gotten the time to call back and let them know that I will like at least another imaging so they could see that it didn't work out as planned. But overall, my smile is much better. So far, the payment and the finance have been good as well. I would truly recommend it.

I went to SmileDirectClub because they were more cost-effective for me. I'm 50, and I had braces when I was in my late 20s. Shame on me, I broke my retainer and never got another one. So, teeth haven’t set already, and they shifted on back to where they were originally from when I was in my 20s. That's why I did it. And nothing short of going to my dentist and going to another orthodontist who wanted probably about $5,500 to fix my teeth. When I went to my dentist, I talked to them about Invisalign, which is the other company. We did an impression, everything else, at my dentist’s. And then he told me I was a candidate for Invisalign. However, I was only a candidate for my upper set of teeth.
On the bottom, he wanted to remove one of my teeth for the overcrowding and put it together. Now, I have all 28 of my teeth, minus the wisdom that were taken out when I was a young girl. I'm not in the business of fixing something that's not broken. I was like, “My teeth are grounded.” Through my x-rays, I could see the roots and everything. I said, "No, I'm not going to have one of my teeth removed." There was no way. They work fine. I said, “Put your hand in my mouth and I'll show you exactly how well they work.”
With my dentist, I had a crappy feeling about it. I said, “Let’s see if there’s got to be something else.” That was how I found SmileDirectClub. And I was like, “Oh, it's only $2,500.” It was $2,300 total. I gave them either a $250 or $500 deposit. And then, within 30 days, I could pay it off and have no payments for two years. I corresponded through email on the internet. Not only that, SmileDirectClub followed up. They were great about it. With it, you wear your aligner for two weeks, and then one week, and everything. But I always got my notifications. I got reminders through email, and through text messages on my phone.
I would also correspond with them if I had a question about anything. And I could either go through email or through the text that they sent me. They always responded and communication is still open. I continue to buy stuff offline. I've had a good experience. I didn't know exactly what it was going to feel, or how harsh it would be on my mouth. I work office and I talk to people on a daily basis. One of my things was, I didn’t want to sound like I needed peanut butter at the roof of my mouth when I'm talking to them. It has been okay.

My experience with Smile Direct any brand I've ever dealt with. As a customer service professional of over 20 years...their level of accountability and empathy is laughable. As a former Quality Assurance Manager, if I had review the calls and notes from my experience...I would be extremely embarrassed by my company! I've been lied to, put on hold / hung up on without a call back and never felt valued as a customer. I initiated a cancellation, submitted photos to be reviewed but you guys still take money from the customer's account?
I started my process in July in hopes to have a new smile for the new year. It's now about to be a new year and I haven't worn an aligner for 5 minutes because the initial bottom aligners didn't fit. Had a Smile Call in August, once determined that they didn't fit...went to a Smile Center in Manhattan on September 1st. I was told I'd receive my new aligners in 2-4 weeks. Waited and waited, decided to call November 2nd, was told the new aligners were created but just never shipped out. He said they were created, but never shipped out. I requested they be sent overnight, he said that wasn't possible but to allow 2 - 4 weeks for arrival. Not sure how an established company can't Fed-Ex a package. SD Club has been the worst experience EVER fe to a dissatisfied customer. However, he offered to send me a free retainer and teeth whitening kit.
Six weeks later I decide to call for an update only to be told new aligners were never created, the rep couldn't obtain any notes about an offer for the retainer / whitening kit. At this point in DECEMBER...5 months later... I'm over it, want to cancel and requesting my money back. After a few calls with 30+ minute hold times, a cancellation has been initiated. I needed to send photos which I did and was told to allow 4-7 business days for review then will be contacted by an account manager. I wake up this morning to a debit from my account. If my account is in review because I'm dissatisfied with the services rendered, what better way to make a customer feel better than to take more of their money...RIGHT? After 3 hours on the phone today to voice my frustration, still calm, without using profanity... I still wasn't satisfied with the level of customer service I was provided. I'm tired of typing but please think twice about signing up with Smile Direct Club!

I researched for years trying to find someone affordable and one day, I was doing my normal research and I came across something on the internet. SmileDirect had an office here. I got the phone number, made a phone call, and I happened to go see someone. I went just to get answers to questions but before I knew it, I was already signed up to get my teeth done. All my bottom teeth were crooked and I wanted to straighten them out. I went on this very long journey. They said six months and six months turned into a year, and a little bit over that. I got tired of trying to get this one tooth fixed and I did not get it straightened out.
I had already paid in full on the very first day so it was just a matter of waiting more time. But I was so impatient at the time and I wanted this over with. So, I still have a crooked tooth. It's the same issue I've had in almost two years that I had SmileDirect. The dentist never got it right and I should have requested a different dentist. Maybe a different dentist would have been able to fix it. But overall, everyone at SmileDirect are excellent people. From the people that answer the phones to the people that answer the phones for the dentistry part to the dental team. So, I appreciate everyone's efforts. It's no one's fault. My own tooth just didn't want to get straightened out. Maybe the dentist just never got the right pattern because every time I put in my aligners, I would feel my teeth move and shift, and I was always hopeful.

SmileDirectClub was cheaper than braces and you could make the payments per month. My teeth were crooked and my front teeth had a gap and I wanted to get that gap fixed. I wanted to straighten my teeth out as much as we could. My biggest insecurity were my teeth so, now that I got those fixed, I feel much better. It is amazing that a piece of plastic could move my teeth like that. It wasn't perfect the first time because I didn't go to a dentist, so we didn't expect the retainers to fit perfectly. But the fitting was fine. Sometimes they cut up my gums a little bit, but that's to be expected considering that SmileDirect was just going off of a mold that I sent into the mail.
The first time, I went through the whole cycle and I still had a little bit of a gap. But I didn't even have to pay for anything extra for them to send me more retainers to get that gap closed. I was quite surprised by the way that everything turned out. I didn't know what to expect. It's not going to be quite like braces but if you have a gap or has one tooth that's messed up, SmileDirectClub is the better option to go than braces.

I went to an orthodontist and they were going to charge 6,000 for braces. I couldn't afford it and I thought about the commercial on TV. SmileDirectClub offered a fraction of the price and I thought, “I could try them and see how that goes.” I read the little instructions and I could always email them a question if I had one, but I didn't have to. I get dehydrated easily and I sip on stuff all day, but I didn't drink anything hot. They said just drink water, but I drank other stuff and it didn’t seem to bother it at all. I saw results gradually as well. After the second month, I started seeing a big difference and my teeth started to get straight.

I had braces before but my teeth shifted a little bit. My teeth weren't that bad so I knew I didn't have to go to braces. I was just going to get some kind of Invisalign stuff but the price of SmileDirectClub was pretty cheap so I worked with them. It was actually very good and my teeth got fixed.

SmileDirectClub was for my son. I knew I wanted to get his teeth straightened, and the dentist, it was too high. But I could afford SmileDirect, so I went with them. I have three kids, and my son is the only one that was born with his teeth not straightened. I was like, “We are gonna get your teeth fixed as soon as we can.” The opportunity came available, and I jumped on it. Everybody I talked to was real helpful. They answered all of my questions if I had any. The packages came earlier than they said they would come. My son wore his retainer at night when he went to bed. It was a great process. One day I woke up and it was like, “Oh, my God, Tyrone, look at your teeth. They're different.” I looked at him and all his teeth were straightened out. I was like, “Oh my God, you just started this in August.” And he’s loving his new smile. His teeth are straight.
That was a great experience. I really appreciate SmileDirectClub and their services. If I had to do it again, I would. I have recommended to everybody who asks me about it. I was telling one of my co-workers about it, and I showed her a picture when my son first started, and at that time period, and she was like, “Oh, wow. You can really see the difference.” I was like, “Yeah. This is amazing.”

There was a SmileDirectClub right by my home that ended up closing. And I had contacted them, but I was waiting to get an implant done. Then they told me that I should wait to have it done, which was then later told no, I should have had it done prior to get my treatment right away. There were good instructions with how to manage the aligners. I liked all the instructions that they provided and videos. I had crowded teeth in the lower teeth, and I was worried that that would get worse, just hold more food and develop cavity. And I didn't think it looked that great either. So, those two big drivers were making sure that teeth would be easy enough to clean and they wouldn't look so bad.
I have one tooth that has been very difficult to get twisted around. The last treatment that I had did way more progress than the other aligners did. I was happy that it was coming around. Unfortunately, it’s not 100% coming around. I've done this twice to see if we could get a bit better. Because at first, I thought, “Well, it's probably good enough, and I can live with it.” And then, what I've seen is a bit more spacing between teeth in general, which I'm not sure why that has happened. I called in and said maybe I need to do another treatment of six weeks or whatever they suggest. They said they would have to go through their team and get back to me, but I have not heard back.
I'm happy in general, although I don't want to have teeth gapping. I was hesitant to buy retainers that only lasted six months. Even though they're only $99 but still, that's $200 every year for as long as you live. When my daughter had her work done, there was not that kind of a short cycle. Hers were supposed to last at least five years. But now, I hear that the ones that even your dentist could make are only for two years. That doesn't sound all that great either. SmileDirectClub has been responsive. It’s just that I haven't got the results I want. And it would be better if they offered a longer lasting retainer, but maybe they're not out there.

The price of SmileDirectClub was reasonable. The most convenient place is to get it done at the CVS. I had a problem and they sent a new pair and let me redo it again. So it worked out great. It's really good.

SmileDirectClub was worth experimenting on because it was so much cheaper than our other options and they also had good reviews. Their reps were always very prompt and we didn't have any issues with ordering or going through the process. About three months in, we noticed a difference. My daughter used it and she was very happy with it. She didn't have a whole lot of changes that needed to be made, but she was very happy with the end results.

I started with the home impressions kit 4/2020 and ordered 6 month alignment. The aligners were to be worn 22 of 24 hours every day, and there were 18 aligners total. Some were to be worn for a week, some for 2 weeks. I also requested a retainer, which was never received. Several times, the bottom aligner would bend outward on the inside and scratch my tongue. They provided a nail file to “smooth” any rough edges, but this didn’t help at all. Also, talking while wearing both top and bottom aligners is impossible without a significant lisp. It sounds like you’re talking without being able to move your tongue correctly. As an IT Manager in frequent meetings, this was a big problem.
I bought the Smile Direct UV cleaner, and that seemed to work ok. And the aligners themselves did actually move my teeth into a straighter position over the 6 months. But as I got closer to the end, the sticker in the box told me to order retainers. The problem is that I had already done that when I placed my original order. I was told by someone at Smile Direct that they can’t make those at the beginning, only at the end. If you can make my final aligners and send those to me at the beginning, how can you not send my retainer? I worried that they just weren’t going to send me a retainer, so I took advantage of the Black Friday special and placed an order for 3 retainers for the price of 2 ($198).
I received an email confirming they were processing my order, and that it would be 2-3 weeks until I received the retainers. That was what the sticker had told me, so I was relieved. Until, 4 weeks later, I still had not received any retainers. At this point, I was out of aligners. So I again contacted Smile Direct and they said there was no order. I have the email Smile Direct sent me confirming you received my order and were processing it, I kept saying. They said they didn’t have it, and kept asking me if they could charge my card for a new order. No, I said. At this point, I have been wearing my final aligners for a month. They are cracked and will probably only last a few more days. Since it takes 3 weeks to get retainers, by then my teeth will have shifted back a little bit (Yes, it happens that fast...if I stop wearing my final aligners for a day, then put it back in, you can tell the difference).
I have never made a purchase over $1,000 that I was less satisfied with, let alone around $2,000. I would not recommend this to anyone, and have had 2 people who were considering it ask me and I told them about my experience. Will everyone’s be this bad? I expect not. But I contacted them several times, even again earlier tonight via chat, and the guy just basically said it was impossible for me to place the order for retainers at the beginning (basically called me a liar), despite me notating it specifically in the total I had written out. And after that, he just kept asking if he could charge my card for new retainers.
If I could go back and not use this service/product, I would do so in a heartbeat and just leave my teeth the way they are. As it stands now, I have straighter teeth but I have had my top and bottom teeth bash into each other sometimes, I have been politely called a liar, and I my teeth will end up right back where they were anyway. Definitely not worth $200, let alone $2,000+.

I had an underbite and it was bothering me. I went with SmileDirectClub and I'm pretty happy with their results. I have one tooth at the bottom that didn't straighten out as much as everything else. Other than that, I just wear the retainers now at night and I'm doing well.

The actual process was very well-explained that I was able to get through. The kit that had everything was easy to use. It was a really good kit. The instructions were right there that said you had to wear this set for two weeks, and then you wear this other set for one week, and you change this set out. They also had very convenient email and text message reminders just in case you were to forget. I started my program on a Saturday, so it was very easy for me to keep up with. My program was only for about four months and I have noticeably straighter teeth. I've also used some of the other accessories, like the little sonic bath where you can clean your plates. I've used the mint things that go into that little appliance, and their teeth whitening stuff. I've also used the lip balm that comes with it.

The experience has been hit-or-miss to say the least. They use a 3D Printer to create the aligners. The packaging, instructions, etc. were great. The first set I received for the bottom teeth were awful. They did offer to recreate them, which was fine...except the order never was processed. After 4 weeks, I had to call and ask for status, and was told that the order wasn't done and they offered a free retainer for the inconvenience.
Since I paid in full at the time of the order, I have repeatedly tried to get assistance and forms for filing with my insurance. I am still without any support and no paperwork. This is ridiculous! I cannot file with the insurance without forms. Their website saying they will help is a LIE. I have had to wait in queue for more than 20 minutes to get someone to answer the phone. No one can help--they just keep offering to email; but the email never arrives. Next step is to file a formal complaint with the BBB and the Dept. of Health in my state and in theirs.

I searched on Google for Invisalign and SmileDirectClub came up. They were cheaper than Invisalign and the orthodontist that I was going through at first. I also read their reviews and a lot of people were saying good things about them, so I chose them. It was for my son and the initial process was pretty easy. They sent the mold for him to send back and take pictures of his mouth. After they finished the aligners, they sent them out. He only had to stay on them for four months. His teeth shifted to where they need to be. The dentist told him he has a pretty smile. The only thing I had to do was go back and order the retainers. So I just got the retainers the other day. I like that you didn’t have to do too much work to get the product that you need.

Braces were too expensive for me and I had many friends that after two years, they told me they have to wear them for six more months, and they got their braces for three years. I didn’t want that. Smile was one of the first that I’ve heard of that did the aligners that were transparent and I really liked that. I really liked their branding. It was a good brand. I had them for six months, and now, I have the one with six weeks with them. I’m really happy with the results. I feel a lot more confident.

I liked the price of SmileDirectClub and the ease of not having to try to get into a dentist's office during this pandemic to try to do some of the more expensive alternatives for braces. Going with them was a lot more affordable and the initial process was really simple. They send instructions on how to go through it and then everything was just shipped to my house. It was as easy as I could have ever imagined. My program took four months and my teeth look great now. I get lots of compliments on them. I've recommended SmileDirect to a couple of my friends who asked how the process went.

The customer service is atrocious. The aligners are flimsy. The pricing would be fine if their product and support were not so incredibly sub-par. My last set of aligners are broken because I've been wearing them for over a month because they STILL haven't shipped (or even made) my retainers, and yet they will not even acknowledge that that's a problem. Their customer service is ON POINT prior to signing up, so it must be a different team. Once they've got you, you get nothing but rude agents who refuse to help or even acknowledge a problem. Choose a better company. You deserve better than this.

Issue I had with Smile Direct is that I was given a predicted smile after my 4th and last evaluation and did not come close. Then got an email saying they couldn't do anything more and to buy their retainers. I paid a good amount of money for a great smile but unfortunately did not get one. Only reason they I didn't give them a one star is their customer service is ok.

I started Smile Direct Club October 2019. My smile plan was supposed to be 5 months. It's now December 2020 and I'm still needing aligners. I emailed pictures for them not fitting properly (this is the 4th time). The last time they told me I would have to pay for my mould kit and be reimbursed. I don't think I should have to pay at all, because I'm still going through the process. I'm always calling and emailing and it takes forever for anyone to get back to me, and when someone does, it's multiple people sending the same email. Very frustrated.

I always had pretty straight teeth but when I was pregnant with my son, my wisdom teeth came in. Those made my teeth really crooked and I was getting food stuck in them. That was irritating me. I went with Smile Direct Club and I really liked that they had a Smile Bus that came to do a 3D scan. It was quick, easy, and clean. Plus, the people were really friendly. I felt that it was more professional and that they were a legitimate business. I was really happy with that experience. Working with them was really easy too. I liked that it was not all online and I could call customer service if I needed to. There wasn't a whole bunch of mambo jumbo. I'm very happy with the results and much happier with my smile.

I was very satisfied with how the product worked. It was something I've been wanting to do for a long time and did it. My biggest complaint is probably how long I had to work on the teeth sets each time I changed it to the kind of extra plastic and sharp edges that would have to be cut down and filed down in order to not tear up your cheeks or tongue.
I'm happy with the results except one of my teeth got shorter. If maybe the brace has set, maybe that tooth was a little bit too thin because it didn't go over it all the way. I wondered if that wasn't pushing my tooth up. They said, “You'll have to send us this form and these pictures, and we'll determine if we send you back into an actual SmileDirect brick-and-mortar building or not to look at that.” I did but I never got one reply. I have never heard another word from them in the last year, the day I got done with my treatment. But I'm overall satisfied with SmileDirectClub. I would still recommend them and have. I just did. My nephew asked me who I used and if I would recommend, and I said yes.

Updated on 07/06/2021: First, I was quoted a price which was not fulfilled in anyway, unfortunately I did not find this out until it was too late. I was promised items and they never were included, even after talking to reps over and over. Secondly, these do not work. In fact there is a good chance they will make your teeth worse. I went to an orthodontist, after Smile Direct refused to assist in anyway, after not fulfilling their end of the deal (teeth straight, or at least straighter teeth) and then he had my teeth fixed in a year. I write these reviews in hopes to at least get through to one person and hopefully save them from the nightmare that is smile direct. Braces or invisalign, may seem more expensive, but at least you can have it looked after by a qualified dentist or orthodontist. In summary, smile direct will be polite as pie to get you signed up, but once they have your money, that is it. Straight teeth or not.
Original Review: Firstly I was given a 6 month plan which did not get my teeth anywhere near where they promised they would be. After submitting new impressions and getting approval, I was assigned another 3 months. This brought my teeth almost to where they looked straight. As the final weeks came near, I called about my retainer that I opted for in the initial financial plan agreement. The rep told me this was not included in my plan and I had to pay for the retainer before it would be sent out in some weeks ahead. In my frustration, I did not pay for it and within a couple of weeks after my program ended, my teeth moved back to where they were before the treatment. So now I have my original teeth, and almost 2k in wasted funds. It most cost more, but invisalign, monitored by your dentist, would save time and money. Stay away from Smiledirect.

SmileDirect's reviews and price were good. I wanted my overbite to get fixed. I was 63 at the time. My bottom was getting quite crooked. SmileDirect was amazing. The results are really good. Some weeks were better than others, but it was cutting on the inside of my jaw quite a bit. I had to file them and cut them a few times. Some weeks weren’t bad at all, and then other weeks were really rough. So, I just had to fix it and bear with it. I have to send them final pictures because after five months, I was doing really well, except the one side wasn't fixing, for some reason, as good as it should. I went in. They rescanned my bite, and sent me another two months of retainers, and those didn't seem to do one thing. I could feel they weren't working, but I said, “Well, let me give it the two months.” It didn't fix it at all.

I had a quote for Invisalign, and it was too much. I really just needed a little bit of straightening. I knew it wasn't going to be a huge problem. I had braces when I was younger, and I just needed to do some little straightening over time. I went with Smile Direct. I'm in the retainer phase now. So far, so good. I hope they hold. I really liked how Smile Direct would text me when it was time to change. I didn't really have to think about keeping track of that. If I knew that I didn't wear it really 22 hours for that one week, I would say, "Look, I know I need to just keep it a little bit longer, and then we can adjust the time." That worked really well for me.
If you already had braces as a kid, and 30 years later, you just need some straightening, Smile Direct is perfect. You don't need the exact stuff that they can do at the orthodontist office with Invisalign. I don't need that kind of detail and I don't wanna pay for that. This is perfect. This is straightening until it looks nice enough. My bite is better. I can smile in photos again and it's just the right price.

I had a gap in the front that was happening as I aged, and it got much bigger and I didn't like that. My bottom teeth were not straight. My eye teeth winged out. I had some issues that wouldn’t require the hard braces. I liked SmileDirectClub's price. The initial set of aligners did well. It got my top teeth all straight and brought together. It didn't work on a single tooth in my bottom mouth. I had to do another four months of aligners to try and get it straight, but the tooth just won't budge. I was disappointed that I had to wear another set of aligners and that the one tooth just wouldn't move. I would connect with SmileDirect, but I wouldn't receive anything back for a day or two. That was a little frustrating since everything was done online. But I would call them, and then they would get it, and fix it. My daughter is also using them now, and I like the results I got.

My two front teeth were kind of curved in, and I have an overbite, so I wanted to fix that up. I originally was in braces, but then I didn't wear my retainers like I was supposed to and everything shifted. With SmileDirectClub, I like that everything was shipped to me. Everything was included. I didn't have to go to the orthodontist every week to get new aligners, especially, I started it in COVID. When everything shut down, I had everything I needed. I wasn't stalled in any way, which was really nice. There's one tooth that I think just won't move. I think it's just because it’s a smaller tooth. But other than that, I'm really happy with the results. I told a couple people about SmileDirectClub and a friend of mine did do it. SmileDirectClub has a pretty good customer service. I had a problem at one point. I reached out and they were very helpful. It’s been a really good experience.

I saw Smile Direct advertisements on TV as well as over the internet, and it was an affordable option compared to the only other one I knew at that time, which was Invisalign. One of the reasons I chose Smile Direct was the cost. I also like the idea of being able to go into a smile shop to get my scan done. I'm very pleased with my results. The only thing that I kind of got discouraged with, which had nothing to do with Smile Direct, was the fact that I couldn't go back in when I needed to try to get refinements because the smile shops were closed. So, I had to send in impressions. It took me like three times to send in my impressions before I actually got approved. So, that kind of delayed my time for getting my results.
Customer service was always excellent. Anytime I had a question or concern, I could always text them and I would receive a reply within no time at all. There were a few issues like when I first received my first kit, every second week, there were all top aligners. There were no bottoms. I had to wait for those to come in. So, everything wasn’t 100%. But I had more of a good experience than bad. Realize that there's good and bad in everything. You just go for it. Just do it if that's really what you want. I'm on the SmileDirectClub. I see people there that are always asking, "Is this a good option compared to other things?" I'm always commenting on there. I'm glad I did it.

I decided to get rid of my gap. So I took a step by joining the Smile Direct Club to do it. It was a bit painful the first few months. And the first aligner felt like it would not fit. But I wore all the aligners they sent on the box. Followed everything they said don't smoke cigarettes, don't drink anything hot, and don't eat with them on. (I couldn't cause the pain in my teeth, I actually lost weight) Then the gap closed. I looked amazing. After all that pain I was finally done. Could not be more wrong. Then we get the the retainers where you should only wear at night (the problem was that when I would wake up I had the gap again) so I decided to wear it throughout the day. My mouth was always in pain. If I took them off longer than 3 hours to put them back in I had to build up courage.
For the next year I wore two different sets of aligners, the first one cracked and they replaced it for me free. The second one cracked also so I decided to call in and ask for advice on what I should do about my gap and is it normal to have to wear the retainers all day? They advised me that the only way to fix that is after you do the aligners to go to a dentist for advice on how to get rid of that gap and that aligners are only made to temporarily shift your teeth to where they told you it would shift but you need to do procedures to complete the process.
My advice to you is to go through your dentist so they can do both the aligners and procedures that need to be done to give you the smile you really want. The aligners might cost an extra $500 compared to theirs but it's worth it because they will monitor your progress. And I'm sure they will provide financing if needed. But if you are looking to save money this is not the way to go, with the 2k I spent there for nothing now I have to spend more money for other procedures that I didn't think I would need. My advice is go to your dentist before making a 2k decision to see if it's for you. A box cannot advise you on something that important.

I had had ortho when I was a young woman in my 20s and never followed through with retainers and stuff. Over the last several decades, my teeth started to move again. I'm a retired registered dental assistant, so I figured I could get them moved back to the way they were. I'm all finished and my teeth are fine. I'm just wearing my retainers at night now. There was a little bit of a delay, and I had to go back a couple of steps because of COVID, because my retainers ordered for that never got caught up. Overall, it was really well done with SmileDirectClub.

I had some teeth that were a little crooked, a little inset and twisted. The process was pretty good. It was just that the results changed my overbite, so it didn't work out very well. It changed the way my teeth came back together again, so I had to stop using it before I was finished. But the people were good and responsive.

We went to Europe last summer and we took thousands of pictures. Then I noticed that my two front teeth, one was coming on top of the other, which was not that before. That is because I had wisdom teeth that were removed a little too late and pushed, these two teeth just started moving on top of each other. So I wanted to resolve that.
I am happy with the process and the results at Smile Direct. However, from the first assessment where they said, "This is your smile now and this is what it's gonna look like," it was supposed to resolve a little issue I had with my bottom teeth as well. It seems like one tooth just doesn't want to get straight. So it's been the fourth time that I get an extension on the retainers to try to fix that. So I'm hoping this time is going to be the last one. If it was not for my bottom teeth, it would have been a quick and easy process. But for someone who's going through it at the usual time, it's a wonderful way to do it. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

My husband is a firefighter and his union membership allowed a discount. My top two teeth were pushing my front top middle teeth back, so I wanted those pushed back out. The box that SmileDirectClub sent me was self-explanatory. And then they also had videos that you could watch that made it easy to know how to do the impressions. When I had to talk to the staff, they were friendly, but it was an overall good experience. And then they were always helpful if I had any questions, but I didn't really have any issues after they sent me my box. I just did what the steps told me to do. It was easy, and I'm satisfied with the results. You should do it.

Although I keep receiving texts that my aligner had been delivered and many emails asking me to register it I've never received them. According to the post office package was delivered to the wrong address even my address is right here. Also never received my $100 Amazon Gift Card I was told when bought the aligners. I was told it should be sent for me by email. Never got it.

I had a gap in my teeth, and my teeth were kind of crooked. I was taking video classes online, and it so happens when the zoom caught my own face, I saw how terrible my teeth looked. I said I needed to get it fixed because it looks pretty bad. So far, I'm satisfied with Smile Direct. It seemed like it has the easiest process when I saw it on Facebook. I did Invisalign before so I knew what to expect. I was surprised that with Smile Direct, I didn't have to go to the doctor's every month. I can just change my aligners every month. I did Invisalign way back in 2013, and I had to go into a dentist's office. They put a bunch of clay in my mouth and made me bite on it to get the impression. Then after that, I went and got the Invisalign. My teeth were straight, but then, they were too wide. So, I had them put a gap in it, so looking closer to my teeth, they didn’t look too big. But the second phase didn't work, so I was kind of upset about that.
I was glad that I got Smile Direct, and they were able to close my gap. With Smart Direct, I just went in there in about an hour at the most. It was very easy to get some real quick photos of my teeth. The rep was able to give me a consultation. She even gave me some free lip balm. I'm happy with the process through Smile Direct. It wasn't a bad process, and I was satisfied with the quick turnaround. It’s only about four months. When I first did Invisalign, that was about a year. It was way easier with Smile Direct. I feel good with my new smile. I have more confidence. I'm in sales, and I do a lot of speaking to people, and teeth can be a big factor in how people judge you. I'm pretty satisfied with Smile Direct.

I wore braces for about five years in my teens and there had been some shifting. The ability to get them straight again in under a year was very appealing. We looked into Invisalign and it seemed way more expensive and there was too much involvement. SmileDirectClub seemed very straightforward. The process was super easy. My wife and I went in and did the scan. One of the things I was very impressed with was the way they handled a billing mistake. It was easy, quick, and no-nonsense. It was about as seamless as it could get.
We did the process on the night-only wear and I would highly recommend that route because it's easy to make it part of your evening routine. I just got finished, but I'm still wearing my retainers because I'm feeling some shifting. But overall, both of us are very pleased. It was nine months for me and seven months for my wife and we had good results without really any discomfort or issue.

I'm 56 years old and the Invisalign was going to be a two-year deal. You have to wear it all the time. With SmileDirect, I chose the nighttime option. I wanted improvement in my front left tooth and right in the front. I had the retainer preventatives and I was by-the-book Betty. I couldn't have tea for 11 months in the morning because I needed my 10 hours. I had questions and the customer service was wonderful. There were times when I went off track because I was on vacation and maybe didn't get the full 10 hours. Customer service was always there to guide me. And it worked. I am really happy with the results. My smile is 98.9% better. And although it's not perfect, which I didn't expect, it's a huge difference in my smile.

In the beginning, when I was closing my gap, the aligners kept breaking. I had to wait quite a while for replacements. Then, when the replacements came in, they were damaged. So, I had to go and get scanned over. That happened about three times within a year. So, it was rough. The fitting was okay towards the end though. I'm not completely happy with my results because I have an underbite. My teeth, to me, wasn't that bad but when they pulled them in, the bottom teeth weren't pulled in enough. So, my bottom teeth stick out further than the top, so it's kind of way off. I was supposed to contact them. But what happened was they had an evaluation and they sent me a letter saying that they couldn't fix it and they couldn't do anything else. I would have to go and get traditional braces. The reason for me doing SmileDirect is because I didn't want to pay about 7,000. I can't afford that.
Now, after spending almost two grand with SmileDirect, I'm being told to go and do something traditional, and that’s more money. It’s like, “Okay, well, I guess I just got to deal with the results I have.” I have a lot of family members that have gaps and they saw my teeth and they were like, “Okay, they closed your gap. When do you finish?” I said, “I'm done already.” They didn't like the final results. They're planning to do something different because it was a lot of family members. They were watching me. I showed them my finished results. It's still an open bite. They originally told me they could close my open bite. They couldn’t. It’s a slight open bite, a crossbite, and an underbite. They sent me a letter saying, “Oh, we can't fix your open bite, your crossbite, or whatever.” I would still recommend them. A person can look at my results, and take it from there.

I wanted to fix my teeth for cosmetic reasons and general straightness. I liked the cost that SmileDirectClub offered. There was also convenience in their process. I had gone to the SmileShop for my impressions and I even had some refinements done that way. They were very responsive and had quick shipping. Customer service was really good anytime I had an inquiry. I'm happy with my new smile. I would tell others to explore SmileDirectClub. I haven't gone through an orthodontist in person but it was very easy and the results were achieved.

I wanted to kinda straighten my teeth out a little bit. Last year, I had some damage that it took them a little bit out of alignment. I looked SmileDirectClub up online. I was trying to find some sort of clear aligner program that I could get for a reasonable cost instead of having to invest in braces again. SmileDirectClub's plan was very straightforward that you just had to follow a regimented schedule for when you change your aligners and just have to stick to it. They had a good regulated schedule for when you're supposed to change aligners. The only thing is, at different times, it'd be a little difficult to stay consistent with wearing the aligners because you have to take them in and out when you have to eat or drink anything that isn't cold water.

There was somebody that I knew of who wore the retainers., which I've seen the ads on TV. They started having results so I wanted to give it a shot at it because my teeth were really bad. Everything went smooth. It was quick and easy. The customer service is great. The reps answer questions good and send you reminders when to change the retainers. But I always kept up with that myself. But it was nice for them to do that. Right now, my teeth are really good.
I wish I could have got a bit more out of it. My eye teeth were crooked. They were behind my two front teeth pretty bad. And I was getting them to come out. And then the bottom of my teeth, the front were pushed in and get those come out. The bottom were fairly good. It puts them out. But the top almost got to where it needed to be at. I wish I had another two or three sets, maybe another month's worth before I got my retainers. Because my teeth probably could have come the rest of the way out if had just a bit longer. A couple more to go, I believe it would have straightened them all the way out. Other than that, SmileDirectClub did a good job and did far more than what I thought it would.

I was looking at regular braces, and I decided to get SmileDirect instead. I finished my treatment and I'm happy with the result. I don't love the retainer. But I am going to go and try to see if I can get an orthodontist to make me a metal one just so it's more long-lasting. My new smile is great. I was concerned because I had like five months of treatment. When I finished, I wasn't happy with it. I was afraid they were going to give me the runaround about trying to extend my treatment, but they didn't. They were super nice about it and gave me another at-home kit so I can get more aligners and continue with my treatment. I was very happy with that. I recommended a friend to them earlier this week, and she went.

What my teeth were supposed to look like from the beginning and what they look like now is totally different. I would have never done it with SmileDirect if I would have known that because now I'm having to go in and have veneer put in one of my teeth and I have to have a crown at another tooth in front because of the way they look. I'm gonna have to have them do a permanent retainer for me. When they did the first review, they showed my teeth to be even and all the same height on the bottom. Then when the final thing came through, one of my tooth is like an eighth of an inch lower than the other one and the other one's about a 16th of an inch lower than that. It looks really bad.
I had teeth that were pushed together because of wisdom teeth years ago. I could’ve lived with it. But all of a sudden, I decided I wanted to do something about it. But it ended up taking me twice as long for the treatment. Then it turned out worse than I ever expected. I'm very dissatisfied with the end result. I haven't really said that much to SmileDirect about it, but I’m very upset. It really turned out terribly.

I heard about SmileDirectClub through Groupon and it was a good deal that appealed to me. I went in the office for my fitting. And then, I waited for the kit to arrive. It was initially to get one to two teeth that were shifting from my age. I wanted them to turn straight. I'm not liking the retainer too much. I thought a retainer would be different than the aligners because it’s just an aligner to me. But this last retainer didn't fit as properly. I thought this was how the retainer is supposed to fit, but it does not fit over my teeth the way that my aligners did. Other than that, I’m 95% pleased with it.

I’m older and I had gone through an orthodontist. For what I wanted, he was talking about this expensive plan but I was not looking for something that expensive. It was just for something quick to enhance my smile. When someone that was a customer told me about SmileDirect and I saw his aligners, I inquired about it. I had a little bit of a hiccup with getting my retainers ordered but other than that, everything went well and I am pleased with the results. SmileDirect is a company that will improve your smile or your teeth. They're not a dentist per se so what they can do is improve it as much as they can without going into any type of expensive plan. In my case, I had a space on the side and that was a little bit less intensive than someone that has a whole lot going on.

Getting everything set up was very simple. I went somewhere. They did a 3D scan, and then they mailed me the stuff in the mail. I wore the aligners for a week and then after a few days, my teeth didn't hurt anymore. It seemed like the aligners were not strong enough. Even when I did the two-week aligners, after the first week, they didn't even feel like they were doing anything. I would take them off and my mouth didn't hurt. But when I put new ones on, I could feel the pain like something's going on. But maybe it was just my teeth were getting accustomed to them.
I did the first six months and then I had a reevaluation again. I redid it for another three months. But my bottom front four teeth are still not straight. I sent them pictures again for another reevaluation, as long as I get my results the way I want them to be, like when SmileDirectClub did the scan and they showed me what it would be like when it was completed. I have recommended them and I actually emailed a friend of mine that was trying to do one.

When I went to the dentist, they told me that I needed Invisalign. That was way too expensive. So I chose to go with SmileDirectClub. The process was good because it was short. I thought it was gonna take longer. I see the result, so I'm happy with it.

I saw SmileDirect in my newsfeed and it seemed like the ratings were not good. I like to do my own research. So then, I went to their website, and it had really good reviews. Either I can set up payments, but I paid up all up-front because I wanted to save money. I get to save money if I paid all up-front. I also went to two different dentists to get estimates on the Invisalign or braces. I was willing to wear those silver braces, and I don't have really bad, crooked teeth. But my parents were old-school, and they didn't want to pay the money to get my braces. I got an estimate for 5,800 and 6,800 for the Invisalign. So, the price difference was a major deal.
I just did more research with SmileDirect. I tried to do the impressions, which were a no-go for me. I found a location that SmileDirect had, and I went in, had my teeth scanned, paid everything up-front and everything was good. I got my trays in the mail. I was super excited. I was on a five-month plan. Then, my teeth did not move as fast as my retainers or whatever that I was using that week. I couldn't go any further because my teeth had not moved enough for me to go to my next week. I told my husband, “Okay, I'm at a standstill with this.” And here comes Coronavirus. So, I just kept wearing the same nine-week retainers. SmileDirect sent me two more boxes of impressions, and I still cannot do the impressions. I even had my girlfriend dentist come and do my impressions. They were not that good.
SmileDirect had one office location in Downtown Atlanta and I went in there. They scanned my teeth again. I had the best experience using SmileDirect, and all it took was a little effort. Instead of people thinking that this is a miracle worker, which it’s not because some are more expensive than others. You just have to go through the process with anything else. I got new retainers. Then, I just went by the week. I wore my aligners and did everything I was supposed to do. Then, I went ahead and ordered my retainers. I've had nothing but a good experience with SmileDirect.

SmileDirectClub is great and I like them. The customer service was pretty nice. They were welcoming and they walked me through everything like the steps of how the process is going to be as well as the before and after. It was pretty good. I like the results I've had. I finished my last one a couple of weeks ago. My bottom two need a little bit more straightening but it's all good.

I purchased from SmileDirectClub for my daughter who just completed her treatment after seven months. She is 13 years old, and she has had a massive overbite since her adult teeth came in. Her front teeth are gapped badly as well. As soon as she was able to, we were getting braces for her. After speaking to a few adult parents who have had children with metal braces, and speaking to other children that have metal braces, they hated it. So, we wanted to go the liner route. I heard about SmileDirectClub on Facebook, and I happen to be fortunate enough to be in a town where the bus was coming through. We drove and got the 3D scan with the bus. I was overly impressed with everything from start to finish.
We paid the lump sum to get it a little bit cheaper instead of making the payments. My daughter used her retainers. A 13 year-old kid has never been more responsible in her life than brushing her teeth avidly before and after putting her aligners in, making sure that she took them out to eat. Every time I would look at her, she always had them in. It was never a forgetting-to-put-them-in situation. She enjoyed wearing them because she was seeing the change in her teeth rapidly. She was getting tons of compliments from people. She just completed her treatment, and it is a night and day transformation. It was 99.99% completely painless for her. She felt a little tenderness in the beginning with the first couple sets of aligners, and that's it.
She's been learning how to bite food properly for the first time in her life. She's never bitten off a sandwich with her teeth in the front because her overbite was so big. It would always tear and pull all the meat out of the sandwich, so she always had to use her back teeth. Now for the first time, she can chew in the front. It was quick. It took seven months to make dramatic change in her mouth. She is over-the- moon excited about it. She hated her teeth, and now she doesn't. She's glowing all the time. I told everyone I know SmileDirectClub has changed her life. I hope it does for lots of other people. It was affordable, painless and great. And now, they're accepting insurance as forms of payment. That's awesome. They didn't have that when we got it. Overall, we couldn't be any happier.

After receiving my Smile plan, I emailed the support team with questions and concerns about my smile plan. During my in-person screening, I was reassured that a licensed professional would review my plan and address any questions I had. My first email was on November 7th, and I did not receive a response email until 11/17, 10 days later!!! Between November 7th and 17th, I contacted the Smile Direct chat team multiple times asking for a status update. Each time I was told that it would take 3-5 days for a Dental professional to review and rebuild my plan. I wasted countless hours on chat and no one was really actioning my plan. I have no faith that anyone was actually following up on my plan. I also do not believe that the responses I received were properly vetted or addressed by a licensed orthodontist. I am at a complete loss...

I used to have braces and it took 2 years to get results that time. After the braces, I didn't go back to finish it. I went with SmileDirect and it took about five months for the results. Everything is good.

I wanted to do something about the spaces between my teeth. I also have an eye tooth on the left that kept going behind my bottom front teeth. They would chip so I wanted to pull that forward. I had an amazing experience with SmileDirectClub. I even did a before and after photo. I didn't realize my teeth were so jacked up. But I'm much more confident now. I have an interview today and I'm just going to be smiling the whole time. I am 110% happy with the process and the results I've had so far. SmileDirect gives a bang for the buck hands down. You can't beat it. I got talking with my brother-in-law the other day. My in-laws spent $6,000 and he had to have them in for years. I did mine for four months and spent 1,800 bucks.

SmileDirectClub was a lot cheaper, so it was a great choice in that aspect. But other than that, I did a lot of research online, and I saw there were pretty good reviews around it. So, I thought I might as well give it a try. And worst case, if it didn't work out, I would look for an alternative after. But I'm fairly happy with it. When I went in person, it was really smooth. I sat there, and the two people who would work with me did everything. And then receiving the product, most of it was straightforward. I felt I could do everything on my own, and I was never really that confused.
But there were certain times when I felt there wasn't enough information online on certain things. Like maybe I had a certain pain in an area and I would try to google it. And it didn't seem like there were any resources saying that it was normal. Sometimes it's reassuring when I would google something and people would say, “Yeah, that's normal. Just don't worry about it.” Having those types of resources online would be important. Sometimes, there were open-ended questions that I had. Trying to have more resources, either in the box or on the website, is what I would recommend.
There was one case where I missed the day by accident. It just slipped my mind. Maybe there are resources online, but at that time, I couldn't seem to find what I would actually have to do in that type of situation, so I had to reach out. It was a bit worrisome because I thought it was a big deal. But it turned out that you just wear it for a bit longer. Just random stuff like that. It would be nice if there was some sort of site that just compiled all the questions that people asked.
The one thing that I was a bit concerned with, and I feel should be something down the road, having some sort of connection to an orthodontist just to get permanent retainers. I don't mind wearing the retainer that I have now. I know I have to wear it forever, but at some point, I know I'm going to slowly start forgetting to wear it for certain nights and whatnot. So, if there was a way to somehow have one connected orthodontist per city where I can go and get a permanent retainer in, or you can just have connections to orthodontists that already exist, would be really nice. Because to me, the money doesn't matter. I’ll spend whatever. I just know that at some point, I'm going to slowly start to forget to put it in. I have to wear this for the rest of my life, so it made me feel like there should be something there. Other than that, I feel really good with it. I'm happy with what I got for the money that I spent.

I am very frustrated with Smile Direct. I received my aligners in the middle of May. With little progress made after 3 months, I received a new set of aligners. It is now mid-Nov. and my teeth are still very crooked, although minimally better. I try to get a hold of the Dental Team and the wait increases as you wait. I have tried to have a callback, but the 800 numbers are ever changing and show up as spam so go directly to voicemail. Soooo irritated! In all of these months, I have only been able to get through twice after so many calls.

I liked SmileDirectClub a lot. I don't like the idea of braces being on my mouth and people being able to see it. So, clear braces helps with that. I had the original aligner the first time. SmileDirectClub is a bit better this time around because they stay more on it. Before, I didn't get any of the stuff I was supposed to get. I got the braces. And no one sent me a retainer, so then I had to start over. But their customer service got a lot better now. I like the process of it and I love my new smile. I will recommend SmileDirectClub to anyone. It's gonna be a little painful because it’s moving your teeth, but when it’s over, it’s a good feeling to see your teeth straight. You’ll love it. You can actually eat whatever the heck you feel like without having to mess them up.

I wanted to fix my teeth spacing and also the overbite that I had, just so they would look better. SmileDirectClub's price and then also the speed of the process was a major check in the yes box. All the directions were laid out very explicitly. It was easy to follow and it made it easy to complete. Also, customer service and reaching out to everybody was a good experience. They were helpful. I like the simplicity of it. It works and it's effective. It was a pleasant experience for me.

SmileDirectClub did exactly what they were supposed to do. Everything came right on time. Everything went fantastic. There was some problem with breakage before it was time to change, but it wasn't huge. When we had a confusion, they understood and fixed the problem quickly. My daughter's teeth look much better. I was just going to order another set of retainers sometime today or tomorrow. I'm very happy with them and I would recommend them to anybody.

I liked the price and the ease of use of SmileDirect. I had some imperfections from incomplete orthodontics when I was a teen and I was really happy with the process. The instructions were very easy to use and I appreciated some of the follow-up correspondence. If there was a way to reduce the packaging and the amount, that would be a good idea. I understand there's a certain amount of sanitation involved and care involved with casts and things of that nature. Also, if there was a way to change it overall in the system, then I would change my email. But otherwise, that’s okay. My smile is better now.

After working with one of their representatives via email, an SDC Account Manager Kelly offered and applied a proportional discount to my account to accurately reflect my service experience. I very much appreciate SDC working with me to reach a resolution that matched my expectations of SDC and their service. Thank you for your help, SDC and Kelley. While initially a challenge in customer service, I was able to reach a desirable solution with SDC through repeated and varied communication attempts.

SDC promised me straight teeth in 4 months after going through the initial assessment. I followed all guidance diligently and was even told I was on track for the projected straight teeth outcome (digitally rendered) when I completed my check-in. However, after 4 months my teeth are not perfectly straight as promised by SDC, and when I contacted them, their response was either invest more time/money into a "touch-up" process, or request a refund but they would withhold/prevent getting future retainers so I would lose the small gains I had made. This response is highly unethical as they should stand behind their product and refund proportional to the actual outcome. I am about 85-90% satisfied, but my teeth are not 100% teeth as their promise projected in 4 months. Therefore, a proportional refund would be reasonable and satisfactory, but their options were not amenable based on being further exploitative and manipulative.

I scheduled an appointment online on 11/8 and I had my physical appointment on 11/13. I was told that I wouldn’t be charged until an orthodontist reach out to me within 72hrs about my full plan, what my smile would look like and how long I would have aligners. No one called. I received an e-mail stating I was charged and my aligners would take 4-5 weeks. I never agreed to continuing with their services, but yet I was charged. I had to call and file a claim and I’m supposedly receiving a refund. Do not trust what they say when you go in for your appointment. They do poor business and falsified my signature on paperwork.

I thought that SmileDirectClub would be reputable, but they are not. I had a terrible experience with them. I got the first set of aligners and then my teeth really didn’t move. So I needed a second set but they sent me another set that didn't fit my teeth. When I tried to contact them, they told me to just push them on. But I told them that they wouldn't stay on. Then no one would get back to me. Finally, I went back and forth with them and they were supposed to be issuing me a refund at this time.

My #5 aligners were not fitting correctly, so I called SmileDirect, and they suggested I try wearing them and using my “chewy” to see if they would click into place. I did a little trimming and filed in a few places, and it worked!!! Thank you once again SMILE DIRECT!!!! I’m in the process of my first time of whitening for a week.... so far so good. Initially I was extremely happy with this company and I gave them a great review. I don't know what has happened over time. I have been trying to get retainers what seems like forever. I have emailed/texted/called and was informed they had account info errors... That were I was told all corrected while I remained on the phone. They assured me the retainers would be completed and all was good. So much time had passed once again I emailed to follow up and never even got a response after the computer generated one. So I called again. I got through after a long long wait time. I got disconnected while speaking with them.... And here I am starting all over in square one!

My card was charged immediately before I was able to review my plan. I reviewed my plan and parts of my mouth looked WORSE than prior. I stated my concern that I will not be putting these aligners in my mouth if this isn’t changed. They said they can’t promise anything. I still haven’t heard back in a couple of days. Doesn’t seem very professional. If I don’t hear back I’m going to report it with my card.
