As of the end of 2023, Candid ceased all direct-to-consumer clear aligner products and services, and is no longer associated with this profile. In the two years following the announcement, Candid assisted customers who had purchased aligner kits in completing their treatments, obtaining refunds and beginning retention. The final day to purchase retainers as a direct-to-consumer customer was March 8th, 2024. Candid no longer provides aligners, retainers, treatment accessories, dental records or refunds to direct-to-consumer customers. Those seeking clear aligners or retainers manufactured by Candid should work with a dental provider who uses their CandidPro product.

I have been very impressed with Candid from the time I ordered the kit to take impressions of my teeth to now. Customer service has been amazing. All of my questions have been answered and I am very happy that I chose Candid to straighten my teeth.

I appreciate how fast I received my aligner kit, however I do have an issue I'd like to share. I wore my aligners for 22 hours every day for several months, as directed, and my teeth straightened up. However, over the last 4 months since completing the kit, my teeth have begun shifting back out of place. I still wear my aligners at night, but after a few hours with them off, my teeth move and it's a losing battle. I wasn't expecting to have to wear my aligners after having them on for 7 months and for my teeth to shift every day. Not sure if others have experienced this problem.

Candid was excellent in their customer service and the ease of the process. I was very pleased with the speed of my initial assessment and cost estimate. The in person sessions I had were very pleasant and helpful. And my smile was straightened perfectly! Candid does a great job following up to remind me when it’s time to reorder my retainers as well. I’ve already recommended candid to several friends!

I contacted Candid and discussed their teeth straightening process. After sending pictures of my teeth a representative contacted me and advised that they were sure my teeth could be straightened. I paid for the products, sent my dental imprints. I received my 10 weeks of trays and started the process. At the end my teeth were slightly straighter. I contacted them a few weeks later advising I was not happy with the outcome. They basically said they were sorry but I could purchase additional trays. Would not recommend them to anyone.

My experience was fabulous. Candid send what I needed to accomplish my goal of moving my upper teeth into line, thereby stopping constant cavities between them. Easier to keep clean. And my bottom teeth were never straight. Now they are. I'm just about to request a new retainer! Not thrilled with the whitener, though.

So far everything with company has been wonderful. The ordering process is easy and painless. I’m just waiting on my Aligners. Also there is a financing option which is great. I just wish the interest rate was lower though.

Once I needed to get refinements, Candid would make me keep taking pictures when all mine were fine. They also wouldn't answer me for over 2 weeks. They kept beating around the bush and stopped responding to me. I paid 1900$ for still not having straight teeth. So, I am not happy with how they ended the treatment, my teeth are still crooked and I'm not pleased with this service.

Going through the process was easy enough, however once the treatment plan finishes there’s no more assistance or reminders regarding the retainers. I would like to see more follow through at the completion of the plan, especially with the amount of money being spent. Additionally, I was expecting more change/improvement at the completion but I honestly don’t see much. Given the chance to do this again, I don’t think I would.

The results of my treatment were incredibly accurate. Although there was some pain in the beginning as expected, by the end of this treatment, my teeth look amazing, are incredibly clean, and I am now used to managing the retainers. Thank you Candid for fixing my smile.

I was pleased with the candid system. My bottom teeth are still slightly crooked, but I can live with that. Candid never really did any follow up on my progress during treatment. I thought they would ask for progress pictures, but they did not. My retainers were delivered promptly. Since then, I have order another set of retainers and those were delivered promptly too. I would recommend Candid.

The treatment got delayed and I am very unhappy about that. The aligners that I got in the first place was not fitting properly, then I reached out to Candid and told them about the fitting issue and they told me that I needed to get new aligners. I went to the NYC for that and did the scan. They told me that I needed to wear the same last aligners until I get the new treatment plan. And guess what, I will have to wait another 5 weeks to get the new treatment plan. It's a waste of time. This should have been corrected in the first place. I wasted my time. I am very unhappy about this. I should've picked another company. I'm disappointed with Candid. I thought Candid was more professional than the others.

This is in regard to irreparable tissue damage to my gum line that could have been avoided had the proper steps been followed by Candid. Had an actual orthodontist reviewed my weekly scans; had a human being reviewed my scans, they would have known that something was wrong. Meanwhile I just kept getting the same feedback on my app.
My various omnichannel requests of Candid for their help and feedback have gone unanswered. In app messaging, emails and phone calls go unanswered. I have the receipts from a community Facebook post, showing Candid would be speaking with leadership and someone would be in touch. No one has. I have contacted Candid and still nothing. The company continues to send wildly absurd and contradicting emails about where I am in my treatment (why am I getting emails about “time to get started” and see if I am a candidate?). I have been a patient/customer since the start of the year. In short, this company sells a high value product and service, but delivers a very different experience that directly contradicts the company mission and values. Still waiting, Rachel.

I went for my initial scan at the end of last November and started my treatment plan January 4th. Around step 14, something wasn't right with my bottom teeth not moving, and the aligners bent. I had to get refinements but because of Covid the local office closed. So I had to send in impressions and even had to get another kit and a virtual meeting to make sure I did them right. Got my refinements at the beginning of October with 6 more steps to get me where I need to be. With the obstacles with covid, I am still very happy with the process. I recommend Candid to everyone really when they ask.

I was in treatment from November 2019-July 2020. My main reason for getting the aligners is still an issue for me & I refuse to pay for more aligners, which I’m sure would be required for more treatment.

Original Review: Everything went smooth. All my answer and concerns were answered on time and the whole process was fast and I liked the end results. They even gave me another aligner case for free after I lost the one that came with the package. Would recommend to friends and family.

My teeth look better than before but they are still crooked. Now when I'm done with aligner every night before bed I have to wear aligner and it hurts. Also my teeth are very sensitive now. It’s possible get some money back? I pay so much money and I'm not very satisfied. Thanks.

I purchased aligners through Candid and receive them, went through the treatment and my teeth are much straighter and look better now. I also purchased a replacement retainer and while the first one didn't ship -- when I reached out to them, they refunded my money. I did have to place a follow-up order so that was a little annoying.

The price is the most enticing, compared to some of the other aligner options. I had to do my initial imprint 3 times before the optometrist could get a good mold. No cost to me, that was great. The equipment given was great, however the explanation of the process, how to use the equipment and get good results were not as transparent and I had to look up info on my own. The last step is your retainer and USE THE GUMMIES. They are crucial to good results.

The treatment was completed on time as originally scheduled. The only criticism I have has to do with communication. It seemed that the doctor's comments after viewing my photos were boilerplate sometimes and did not address issues that needed addressing until the end.

When I went to the Candid office for the mold/prints and signed up for the aligners I was told I’d have straight teeth and the smile I had always hoped for. I took the chance & financed and made the purchase. I got my kit and wore my aligners and followed all the instructions. I noticed some mild changes but after completing my treatment, my teeth are not straight which is disappointing. I’ll be visiting my dentist soon and be referred to an orthodontist to get fitted for regular braces. I feel like I just wasted money and I’m still paying for something that was not effective.

I was very happy with Candid until the very end. No one reached out to discuss the end of treatment plan. Had I not been proactive about my follow-up aligners, I would have ended my 17 trays on my own, with no guidance about wearing my aligners at night, etc. Now that I'm getting ready to start my second set of trays, there has been very little communication. They originally told me 4 trays, why am I being shown a video with 8 or so sets of trays? I emailed about that, and no one emailed me back. Additionally, I was sent another set of putty, but what was wrong with my first one? The lack of communication is so frustrating!! And there's no instructions for the putty either! I had to call and he told me to look up Youtube. Thanks for the help.

I did not have my one front tooth straightened as desired after 10 retainers. It was also hard to reach the orthodontist. It felt like the feedback was automated and not a real person. After my final adjustment the app said it was time to move onto another retainer. There was no conclusive wrap-up and the app said to keep going.

Hello, I have attempted to contact a few times and have been unsuccessful in finding out who can answer the issue. I believe that my process ended one step too soon. My scans do look like what they plan was for, but I am hoping to get one more step. My teeth seem as though they are almost perfectly straight but not quite there yet. I am happy with services all the way up until trying to contact for further treatment.

I started treatment in January 2020. I have now completed my treatment. I used remote monitoring and that worked out wonderfully in this pandemic time. I was able to reach out to the orthodontist via email for any questions. Have recommended to a few friends.

I loved my Candid aligners. My teeth look great, it was way cheaper than an ortho and the process was super easy! The only reason I didn’t give it a five star review is because of the discomfort occasionally on the aligners. They would cut into my gums from not being smoothed out. Other than that, they were great!

I was left with an open bite after completing treatment. Customer service was all but absent throughout the process, not responding to calls, emails, and social media. Ultimately, I received a refund, but future treatment will cost more than I paid for Candid.

I chose Candid because it was the most cost-effective option for me when it came to invisible aligners. I can’t say how thankful I am to Candid’s wonderful support staff. They worked with me over several months to ensure that I was getting the best support possible on my candid journey. I went through 12 months of treatment and 4 months of refinement. So happy with my beautiful smile, all thanks to Candid!

I liked that I was able to straighten my teeth without having to make appointments and take time off of work. The process was easy to follow and the end result is not perfect, but pretty close. I still have a small gap that the aligners did not close all the way, but I didn't want to bother with the refinement process, which I had heard from the Facebook page is difficult. Worth the money to me, as while my teeth are not perfect, it was significantly cheaper than going to the orthodontist.

Upon completion of the initial 6 month treatment on my teeth, one of my bottom teeth is still crowded in and crooked. I immediately contacted Candid. Months later I asked Candid if I could get it corrected at which time they told me I’d have to pay an additional $700. This is not fair practice. They should correct my tooth that is still crooked especially since I signed up to have straight teeth and told them about it at the end of my treatment.

Very dissatisfied with this product. I've done all 12 steps and my teeth have not moved at all. Been using Candid for 6 months and no progress. I want a full refund. I don't want to pay thousands of dollars when this product doesn't work.

Candid crushed my expectations. The customer service was the best I've ever had. They always responded super quick and were very comforting. The aligners worked even better than I thought, and I could always contact customer service if I had a question. I'm glad they use real orthodontists, they put the customer before growth at all costs.

Hi, This is a follow-up. I had spoken with a rep in May or June. He was very understanding that I could not go through the first set of aligners since I had a gash on my tongue. It was very difficult to get a solution and I had to abandon the process after a failed second attempt with a cut yet again in my tongue. No amount of filing it reduced the sharpness. The rep has said he would have a free teeth alignment analysis done and send a free set based on the new analysis. Awaiting your follow-up to the new approach.

At first I thought Candid was great because their packaging and interface are so cool and user-friendly. But by the time I got to the last step of treatment, my bite was misaligned. My back teeth weren't touching and I wasn't able to chew on my back teeth and I had terrible headaches. When I reached out to Candid about this they were very slow to respond. After spending hours per week via iChat b/c I couldn't get them on the phone, and after 5 weeks of waiting for them to ship me an impressions kit (because the stores were closed due to Covid) I finally had a new impression kit to take new molds of my teeth for reassessment.
At that point I was so disgusted w/ Candid for their disorganization, unprofessionalism, lack of transparency, and poor communication that I didn't want to continue treatment with them. I saw that they had many complaints like mine w/ the Better Business Bureau, and I told them I wanted to finish my treatment somewhere else, that I didn't trust them, and that I wanted my money back or I would call the better business bureau. They gave me a full refund, thankfully.
I did follow up in person with a local orthodontist and he said that if he practiced that way that Candid practices he would lose his license. When Candid evaluates you, they send you a 3D time-lapse digital animation of how your teeth will correct through their steps of treatment. I showed this animation to the local orthodontist and he said that this type of change is impossible. It shows the treatment as moving the bones of the jaw which is not possible. He told me that the treatment that I had received from Candid was unstable, and if I stopped wearing the aligners my teeth would shift back to the position they were in before treatment. He said that if I wanted my bite to correct, I should stop wearing the aligners. So that's what I did, and my teeth shifted back in a few weeks.
It's been about 3-4 months since I stopped wearing the aligners and my bite is back to normal and my teeth are as they were before I started with Candid. There was no lasting damage to my teeth or my jaw, so I'm fine. It was just a giant waste of time and very stressful worrying that I had damaged my teeth, but I'm ok now. I think I paid the other orthodontist about $300 to Xray and evaluate me, but I got all my money back from Candid so it wasn't too expensive to correct it, and I'm just glad it's behind me.

Went through the whole process, maybe 14-15 sets of retainers. My teeth was not straight yet, so I contacted you and sent photos of my teeth. And I have not received my 2nd set. It’s been months since I’ve heard anything.

I am very pleased with the Candid system. I have finished my treatment but during a recent dental visit I was told that the enamel on the front and back of several of my top teeth is almost gone. I now have on temporary caps and will get the permanent caps in about 2 weeks. I called Candid customer service and they were wonderful to advise me to contact them once I get my permanent caps and then we will proceed with the retainer process. Until then I will continue to wear my bottom aligner from my last set.

Getting clear aligners through Candid was the best decision I’ve ever made. They made the process so simple and walked me through everything. Once the aligners were sent to my house they continued to check on my progress and would make sure all my questions were answered. I thought for many years that correcting my smile would be too expensive for me but Candid made it affordable and even offers a payment plan program. Since I’ve ended my treatment all I do is smile now I’m extremely happy with the results and I love telling others about my experience when they ask about my smile transformation! 10/10 recommend!!!

The aligners did straighten my teeth but didn't straighten all of them. Once I got to the end where I only had to wear the retainers overnight, my teeth shifted during the day and it hurt to put the retainers in every night. I like what they did straighten but they don't stay put.

It feels too early to tell if I will be happy with the product since I haven’t received the trays yet so I can only comment on my experience in the office and paying. I’m disappointed because I was told that the whitening kit was included in the price but then when I received the bill via email later that day I saw the whitening kit is over $200. I have very white teeth and do not need to use the whitening kit, I most definitely would not have chosen to spend so much money if I knew I had a choice. Being a teacher every penny counts and this was already a large financial commitment for me. I just thought this was very poor communication at the time of purchase.

The process to receive the retainers was a very simple process. My complaint is that despite wearing my retainers at all hours expect to eat, I still have minor spacing issues on both my top and bottom teeth after the last step. I have continued wearing my last retainer during the days and at night, but despite that there is still noticeable crowding. The customer service for Candid is great though and extremely helpful.

First off, I was amazed at the friendliness and efficiency of the Candid staff on Newbury Street in downtown Boston. The whole experience beyond that was all so easy and effective that I have really no complaints. Even the payment (6 installments, no interest) was easy. I'd highly recommend Candid.

I was delighted with the customer service, how easy it was to use your product, and the price of it was affordable. However, I only wish I had a few more steps for my teeth, since they are not fully straightened out. I don’t know if you do that to make sure the teeth fit in the mouth or it just wasn't recommend for my program.

I had an overall good experience with Candid. The set up was super quick and easy at their studio. I would say that I took off one star because I still have one bottom tooth that is not fully straight even after the 6+ months of my aligner plan. The whitening/cleaning foam also caused my teeth to get very sensitive so I had to stop using.

I have been impressed with the alignment of my top teeth but have been having issues with my bottom teeth. The aligners have been shifting a single tooth out of place and twisting it at a slight angle. On my 3rd series of aligners, I was given the DM equipment and was hoping that with the careful watch of an Orthodontist, the process would be successful. I was wrong. The tooth is still out of place and the last series of aligners didn't help. I am about to do my 4th impressions for Candid which is slightly annoying. I personally cannot recommend Candid to anyone.

I had braces twice growing up. I made the worst mistake in not using my retainers. As I grew older my teeth shifted significantly. I had hoped to fix it before my wedding but got sidetracked. Once the world paused for CV in 2020, I was taking many meetings from home - constantly looking at myself on Zoom. I was now faced with my crooked smile daily for hours on end - I wanted something quick and convenient. I got that with Candid - and at an affordable rate. My treatment was quick and I am so happy I decided to do this - I have my smile back!

I really enjoyed working with everyone on the team on Candid. They were all easy and understanding to work with. But the product is did not work well for me. My upper teeth are good but a lower tooth is now loose. I feel like it was a waste of money for me. But I hold nothing against the company.

I had wanted to fix my teeth for many years. I had braces when I was a child and I lost my retainers and couldn't get replacements in time so my teeth shifted back to pre-braces. I was devastated. I had wanted to fix my teeth but didn't have money for the top of the line invisible liners and didn't want to go through using braces again. Then I found Candid. It was much cheaper and such a easy process to get started and begin treatment. I didn't even have to leave my house. Their staff was always quick to answer questions or needs and my teeth look amazing. Would recommend to anyone who wants to fix their teeth and have to my friends and family as well.

I was happy with the aligners. I had a problem with a few toward the end getting them to go in on my teeth. If I had not worked as a dental assistant I might not have gotten them in and knew how to trim off the parts that were hurting. I have been using the last set as a retainer but what happens if something happens to them, just wondering. Thank you for helping me get straighter teeth!

I’ve expressed concerns about my bite and being dissatisfied with my results. My upper front teeth are still crooked and grinding against my lower teeth resulting in a chipped tooth and loss of teeth due to grinding. My bite is not positioned correctly. I’ve sent multiple photos and emails with no response. I’ve spent over $2500 on Candid and to say that I’m disappointed is an understatement. My dentist has recommended Getting braces to correct my bite to prevent my teeth from grinding and chipping. I’m very disappointed with my teeth appearance.

Overall very happy with the results. Teeth are looking great and straight, super easy to do. Everything was going super well, loved the customer care, but one day one of my teeth starting experiencing sensitivity, changing color, and was extremely painful. Tried to reach Candid, didn't get anything back. Good results, but I would be slightly wary about.
Had to go to the dentist and spend a few hundred dollars on an appointment for them to check out my tooth for them to tell me that my teeth were moving too fast and that there was a 50% chance I would need a root canal ($$$) and that my teeth moved slightly differently than what Candid assumed. So the retainer didn't fit perfectly. Contacted Candid, talked to a rep, said they were going to send all this info over to my Candid Dr. Never heard anything back, which is concerning since my tooth could've actually died. Luckily, my tooth didn't need surgery, but it will forever be a slightly discolored colored due to the impact. Satisfied with results, but I would be aware of the major consequences that can come with this.
