About Candid
As of the end of 2023, Candid ceased all direct-to-consumer clear aligner products and services, and is no longer associated with this profile. In the two years following the announcement, Candid assisted customers who had purchased aligner kits in completing their treatments, obtaining refunds and beginning retention. The final day to purchase retainers as a direct-to-consumer customer was March 8th, 2024. Candid no longer provides aligners, retainers, treatment accessories, dental records or refunds to direct-to-consumer customers. Those seeking clear aligners or retainers manufactured by Candid should work with a dental provider who uses their CandidPro product.

The Candid system is affordable, effective, and very easy to use. From the start, every process has been easy to understand due to their very well documentation through videos on what and when to do. I strongly recommend anyone who is looking to improve the appearance of their teeth when smiling to use Candid.

The retainers work. Decent pace too. Works well with being in the military since it’s cheap and doesn’t require any appointments. No human contact is kind of a downside to though. Every message seems to be computer generated like the orthodontist just peeks at the pictures and is like “yup, those are teeth” then send a pre written email.

Would highly recommend if you are looking for convenience and something affordable. If your insurance allows orthodontist they do insurance as well. I was given the name from Aflac.

Call into Candid Customer Service. It was like talking with a telemarketer. They only have scripted answers. You can not speak with anyone that has any knowledge about an issue you are having with the product. They just answer, "We will forward that on and someone will answer you within 72 hours." Called weeks ago…. Still waiting. They could save time and just email out the pat answers they use and save phone calls. I know they will answer this with the pat answer we can’t discuss, but I can, I have been delayed moving between sets 4 times saying this one tooth needs to move more. I could accept that answer if the Aligners was actually putting pressure on the tooth. The problem is the Aligners are so loose that when I sneeze they blow out of my mouth. Their answer to me was, "Well some people's teeth move at a different rate." No kidding, I contend, "For them to move they probably need pressure on them."

Other than it being kind of expensive, it is less expensive than braces and way far convenient doing everything from home. Even though there are some teeth left that need to move more, I'm excited for the end result. My teeth have always been my one of my biggest insecurities and I'm happy I went with Candid.

The treatment is super easy to follow and it is actually working! I like having someone reply back right away after I submit a scan (biweekly) and they give me feedback too. Also, the aligners are made to fit. I had started treatment with a different company about three years ago and the quality was awful. I’m so happy I chose Candid!

The reason I got these aligners is because I had braces once upon a time, and my teeth shifted because I was avoiding the very painful retainer they gave me. My teeth finally started bothering me not only aesthetically but also because I was concerned that I couldn't clean them properly anymore due to the way they shifted, so I started hunting for what would seem like the best choice of aligners for me. I landed on Candid, and I'm so pleased with the experience. The entire process has been very smooth. I haven't had to go anywhere for anything or have anyone other than myself poking around in my mouth. I can tell a dramatic difference in my teeth already, and I'm only a little over halfway through my plan. The entire process has been significantly less painful than braces in every way, and it's taking far less time.
I am also far more pleased with the way my teeth are straightening vs the way my teeth looked when I got my braces off back in the day. When I got my braces off, my bite did not align well at all. I couldn't close my teeth all the way and it made me hold my jaw weird. It felt awful. My bite is aligning well through this process, and I am confident it will align perfectly by the end. My teeth are also aligning in a much more aesthetically pleasing way which makes me very happy. I hate the way my front teeth are shaped, and braces only accentuated the shape of them. These aligners are shifting them in a different way that makes them not appear to be shaped the way they are, and I am ecstatic about that. I already know I am going to be the most confident about my smile that I have ever been once I finish this treatment, and that means a lot to me considering how insecure my teeth have made me throughout my life.

Candid does not put their customers first - and I would never recommend them. Imagine changing your teeth with aligners and needing retainers every night to keep them in place; with a company that owns no responsibility for not supporting you with the proper products despite going through years of treatment. Ok, so long story short: I was very impressed with how my 16 steps/8 month program went. My teeth separated and looked much better. Unfortunately they never straightened out enough to reach their final positions which left my teeth very loose and mobile.
When I went in to Candid to get a second plan for my teeth, they suggested I'd get another 8 steps for $800 or keep on wearing my retainers to see if that would do. On top of that they could not offer any guarantees of my investments. I don't blame them for my personal progress - but where do their responsibilities end? During my year progress I wasn't contacted by anyone to follow up on my satisfaction, not until I was done and I received a survey where I stated I wasn't satisfied.
A year later and I lost my retainer- ordered a new one and it hadn't arrived in two months (despite the 2-3 week expected delivery time. I called the company who said they hadn't produced my retainers and that they would cancel my order a nd refund my $100 for the retainer - they did. They also went on to ask me for new images of my teeth to make a new assessment of my needs. The Three days response time turned in to weeks and without a word, I received my retainer that I had ordered months earlier. Not a word. I called the company to say I can't longer get these on and they told me they would consult the orthodontist for further steps and ensured me I wouldn't have to pay for their mistakes.
A week goes by and I receive an email offering me to buy my previous steps again or come in for a consultation to purchase another plan. Ain other words- to start over. Now I'm back at square one and my teeth have shifted so much in the four months I have been without my retainers I can't do anything but get on a new plan. Trust me when I say I won't go back to Candid for this one. And I hope you all go to someone who can offer full service and guarantees. For your own safety.

You know the old saying “too good to be true”? Well here’s my pain. I paid in full for Candid’s service. I had 16 steps to complete and I followed the guidelines as close as possible. Everything was going very smooth until Step 8. I didn’t make it to the first day on Step 8 and it cut my gum. So I reached out to Candid for some assistance. They gave me this trimming guideline. Red flag, no customer should ever have to be trimming or cutting sharp plastic edges especially after paying in full for a service. Of course I follow the troubleshooting steps and it did not work. Then, I was reverted to do the same scans as the initial start of this service. Which is strange because all other steps did work fine, only on Step 8.
So two days go by, two different customer service reps telling me the the Orthodontist, Dr **, wants to repeat the same troubleshooting steps of trimming the aligners? And on the third day, they think that a no contact would help their situation. I feel bad for the customer service agents at this point and am very furious with this Orthodontist at this point seeing as this Orthodontist is trying to repeat the same troubleshooting steps that did not work again. Webster describes it as insanity I believe. Anyways, here I am, enraged, my teeth not lining up as advertised, no updates from Candid. Now given no choice to report this unethical business practice. This could have been avoided. Now I have a cut to treat and a fraud case to open with this company.

Candid had orthodontists doing their plans. The beginning process was very hard. You have to be able to do get the pictures taken properly and you have to put the things in your mouth right. I don't follow instructions well. I was just lucky to have a friend who is a dental technician that could help. That aside, the total process was easy.
I wanted to fix the appearance of my teeth. I have one area where the tooth is recessed. It still recessed is. It's much better than it was but it's not 100% the way I would like it to be. I order one retainer and wear it at least two hours a day to maintain my teeth. My smile needs work. Also, there should’ve been a follow-up at the very end. Candid should probably take impressions again and see if that works. Other than those, I referred a few people to Candid.
Thanks for your feedback, Teresa. We really appreciate it!

The ease of the process drew me to Candid. I didn’t have to go to an orthodontist and sit through all that. The in-person experience at the Candid facility was what sold me. I liked the people there. They give you the red carpet treatment. If it depended on some of the customer service people online or over the phone, I probably would’ve never done it. Because Candid is a fairly new company, the people on the phone have to catch up. In the beginning, there were a couple of steps that I missed or didn't realize ‘cause there was a disconnect between seeing the people at the location and the communication through email. But once I knew to look for and expect that, that was fine. I'm very happy with the results.

Candid was convenient because I didn't have a lot of time to go to doctors’ appointments. There was a location in River Oaks where you go in and they treat you really nice and they cut you a deal and do your impressions by somebody who doesn't know what they're doing. I've been trying to get in touch with them since the Coronavirus hit and I never got ahold of anyone. None of my aligners ever fit. I paid 1,500 in cash, so I'm at a loss. I also tried to email them. I tried to dispute the charge. I've tried everything to get their attention. But I never heard anything back. Once you're out of the office, they could care less about what your experience is because they already have the cash in their pocket. There's no monitoring your progress or seeing your feedback. It's just like buying something and walking out of the store and never seeing someone again, with no return policy.

I'm one of those people that's got a big gap in between the two front teeth. So my main goal was to realign my teeth so that gap was no longer there. I noticed changes within the first two months. Definitely, I could notice it more when I had the aligners in. But even when I took them out for a second, I could definitely see a difference between how much closer my teeth were. Then even going through the photos every so often, I could definitely see the difference. I had to stop doing it because I got to a certain number of sets and it was starting to tear up my gums. I was born with a huge gap in between my front teeth and I wanted to close that. I went with Candid and the process in the beginning was pretty easy. But then after I got the stuff, there was really no follow-up. I couldn't get my questions answered. I went through the treatment and nobody called to follow up. I don't even know if it worked because I used all retainers they gave me, and I'm on the last. I've been using the last step for three months now. I don't know what's next.
When I got the material, I called them and asked them, "Now what?" They told me, "Oh, someone will contact you." They never did, so I started the process not knowing if my teeth are moving right. It closed, but if I don't wear the retainer for a couple of days, then it opens up, so I don't know if I have to have it on permanently. I would have liked if somebody would have followed up and told me if I needed to go in for more exams. I'm not dissatisfied. It did what I expected it to do, but then I don't know if I have to be wearing this. But when it came to me asking for a new set that would actually fit my mouth and help my teeth, they seemed very adamant against sending me a new set, unless the set was damaged. I had a damaged set before, which I sent them pictures of, and they sent me a new set for that. But with the new ones, they just kept telling me to use my chewies and shove them in my mouth, even though they don't fit my teeth. And I continue to pay off the $2,000 that I got a loan for, even though I'm no longer doing Candid. It was not a good experience. I wish that the company has better integrity.

I had to go into the office and the rep did the molding on my teeth. It was maybe 14 weeks before I received it. For some reason they couldn’t get my molding right. After I received the molding, they had to follow the steps in the process. I'm not happy with the results. The last step says you’re supposed to wear them eight hours during sleeping time. If I do that, once I take them off, probably around 5:00 PM that evening, you can start to see the little gap coming back. It’s not until I put them back in that it goes away. I called Candid but the phone kept getting disconnected from them. I gave up after that and I haven't reached out to them in a while. It was probably in August, which was when I was supposed to wear my last set of aligners.

I paid my treatment in cash at the start and the reason I did is because I didn't want to pay for all the interest. But now, they're coming at me that I have to pay like 60 bucks for every retainer I get and the girl I talked to said I'm supposed to switch the retainer every six months. That's the only thing I'm not so happy with. Other than that, the results have been very good so far.

About four months into the process, my daughter started seeing changes and she was in her last set at eight months. My daughter is very happy about the outcome and her self-confidence has improved. We opted to pay the extra to have the orthodontist have a monthly picture sent to him to show progress so that they could determine if my daughter was ready for the next set or if there were any concerns. That was a little bit of peace of mind. Also, with the facilitation of the Candid people, we were able to go ahead and process that through my insurance against the orthodontia. That helped to solidify that this was not a fly by night, snake oil kind of treatment plan.

I really love Candid. It's super easy to order retainers. I saw the ads and I clicked on one then I got the aligner kit. It's a lot cheaper, and it was super simple to use, so I went with it. My teeth were not bad, but I wanted my bottom teeth to be a bit straighter. They're super straight so they were starting to crowd and get crooked at the bottom. They are still but they have bit of a twist on them. It used to be where the bottom teeth were going into each other. Now, they look a lot better than what they did.

I had a teeth grinding issue, and my teeth were colliding with each other. I asked the doctor if using these aligners to straighten the teeth would help that problem. He said, “Certainly, it will,” so I went ahead and did it. It was faster and costs a lot less. The process and the results are good too. Although it did not take care of my original problem, my teeth look a lot better. On a different note, it’ll be important for Candid to let new patients know upfront they’re signing up for a lifelong expense. After the treatment is done, the patients have to keep wearing the aligners. They also have to keep buying it for the rest of their life, $100 every year.

The price from Candid was interesting, so I reached out and got the starter kit. I did the impressions and called it in, then paid for it and I started the treatment. The result I got could have been a little bit better, but I could tell the difference. I could have done two more trays and it could have been perfected. They were supposed to send me another impression to see if they could perfect it more. But it never happened and it was so hard to reach out to someone. If I had gone with Invisalign, I would have gotten the professional everything and the ideal smile that I really wanted but it would probably cost about six grand compared to two grand with Candid. So I just left it alone. The teeth ain’t bad.

I looked into invisible braces and Candid was the only one that didn't have a bunch of lawsuits against them. Also, they were the only ones who had orthodontists rather than dental specialists, which are very different things. They look at your stuff and go over it and it's not a one-size-fits-all package. It's really specialized. As much as it's remote and not one-on-one, the way they have it set up feels like they give a crap. They communicate and they do a great job.

I had braces before a long time ago, and a permanent retainer was not put in. The bottom row got misaligned again, so I got Candid. It was convenient to just be able to do everything by mail and phone. The price was nice, too. It was 1800 bucks as opposed to 6700 for Invisalign. The rep followed up with me several different times. When I had questions and there was something he wasn't 100% sure about, he ended up getting back with me and telling me whatever it was that I needed to know. He was more than helpful and I'm impressed. However, after I went through my last set of trays, it never got the bottom row all the way straight. I called a while back and they said that they were gonna send me another impression kit. I'm so busy with my job I hardly ever have time to do anything.

It was just causing more pain and wasn’t really doing anything. The bottom may have a little bit of a change, but the top pretty much stayed the same.
From not wearing the retainers, the bottom moves back pretty bad. So there was just some that I wanted to straighten back out at least a little bit on the bottom. I reached out whenever I first started noticing they weren't fitting right. Even with the biting things, I couldn't get them to snap on properly in the back. I tried to email Candid at one point and I never got a response from them.

Candid was priced better for me than some of the other competitors. Getting started was an easy process. I was sent the starter kit for free so I could do the molds and send it back and find out what my treatment would look like. Once I sent them everything back, the reps gave really great customer service. The process was really straightforward and easy to follow which was a big plus. The worst part though is that my teeth move so for a couple of days my mouth would hurt. Other than that, I didn't have to pay for Candid right away so it kind of made it a no-risk opportunity.

I had a big gap in my front two teeth and I went with Candid's plan that had 13 steps. I got the pre-mold in the mail for $20 and sent it back, then they got back with me with the payment plan, which was nice. After that, I received the 14 trays in the mail in a box and everything was nicely packaged. I went through the cycle of all of them and my teeth straightened up. There was noticeable movement after a month and a half but the gap didn't close until the end because I had some other teeth that needed to be straightened out first. So the closing of the gap was the last step and I didn't really see what I was hoping to get fixed until near the end of it, but all my other teeth are straight.
Candid's customer service was nice and the sales rep worked with me. But it was a pretty self-explained process. I opted for the orthodontist and I would send the pictures in, then they would get verified. They’d send back any notes if they had to and I did all that on my phone. Other than that, the program made me eat less because you're supposed to brush your teeth after you eat so you don't have all that gunk up in your tray. It wasn't that bad though. It was just an extra process you had to go through every day and you get used to it after a while.

After I got to my last retainer, I got lazy and I lost one. Then I set up meetings and I've tried to contact Candid. It's been months and I've never received anything back from them. So after they got their cut, they were done and their whole program is a scam. Their retainers are great and they do what they say, but any company can produce them and anybody can follow the steps. All they’d give you is the same doctor's response or whatever response to let you know that it was time to go on to the next retainer. They would just change it up a little bit. But one time, I ate food, didn't brush my teeth, and did the scan with food in my teeth. And they said, “Great. You keep it clean. Keep the brush work up." They are liars.
So the last half, I stopped doing the scans. I’d wear the retainers straight for 14 days and I’d keep scheduling in. I only took them out to eat, never took them out for any other purpose. And every 14 days they'd be loose. So, I got to the end and definitely had noticeable change. After I finished, I didn't wear them for a couple of weeks. Then, I would get really bad headaches just trying to put them back in and wear them for the day. If I just pushed through the headache and wore them for 24 hours again, it was fine. But if a person always continued to have something like that and they didn't use them for the first 14 days even, then they would take them out all the time or halfway through the day, and their shift wouldn't be correct. But then, they would do the scan and Candid would tell them to move on. All in all, the retainers are never going to work for a person that's lazy with it.

I had an awful experience with Candid. I had one tooth on the bottom that was odd, so I wanted to put it back in place, and then go through the whole series of it. I was going out to a restaurant, and this kid that had perfect teeth mentioned Candid to me. I decided to do their system and in the beginning, it was excellent. When they sent the kit, everything was self-explanatory. I had no issues up until the last two months. You have to switch the shells every two weeks and as they got older, they started not fitting in my teeth. They were clearly not produced properly.
I kept the other ones in for a while and I just stopped using them because I wasn't happy with it. I should have had my 12th one as my retainer and then, my 11th one didn't fit. On the 10th one, I called Candid to ask if they could look into it and they responded with, “Well, maybe you didn't use your shells enough time. You have to use it properly.” I wear them long enough. They even send you a reminder to change them and I was following it. I'm a rule follower. I felt like they were blaming me for the cause, so I just gave up. I let it go 'cause some health issues happened with my husband.
I've been dealing with that since November and I've tried to reach out to Candid, but I've had no luck with getting a return call. I feel that my whole experience had been wasted. I wore those things constantly and I noticed a shift in my teeth, but I didn't get full satisfaction. I figured it was $1,800 of money I can't get back. Hopefully, Candid will contact me and either give me my money back or work with me on a six-month program.

When I went to Candid, it was pre-pandemic and the experience in-person was great. They took good care of me. It was simple. The Affirm fees was amazing. It was an insane deal and it made the experience all that much better. But the app was pretty terrible. It worked fine for the beginning, but then they changed it. I lost access. I stopped getting any form of communication. The way my treatment finished was a bit underwhelming. I have been pretty patient because we are in a pandemic, and I haven't been comfortable going in-person to chat. But whenever I've called customer support, I've gotten good responses and quick support. So I am not upset in that sense. But it's just from a pure seamless experience, some of the offboarding wasn't what I expected given the situation.
Candid showed me how to put the retainers on when I picked them up. After that, I kept sending my pictures, and things moved on the 10-day schedule, as opposed to the 14-day schedule, which was great. There was a little bit of pain but there were no issues. I'm happy with the results. I'd like to see them again. One of my last molars might be misaligned, but nothing that's been too terrible. I don't know if it's a combination of my teeth moving quite a bit versus something not aligned correctly. Every time I put my retainers in the morning, it's fine. But through the course of the day, it shifts. Overall, I’ve had a great experience and I would vouch for Candid. It was a seamless and professional experience that was tailored to my needs as a customer, and they delivered results. If somebody thinks that Candid might be the right solution for them, I would totally back it up.

My top teeth are completely straight now. Everything is fixed. I would have to get brackets and actual braces to completely fix the crossbite on the bottom. But my top teeth are perfect and the bottom ones are greatly improved. At the beginning, the care manager told me that they could improve them but it was not going to be 100% perfect because of the way my teeth are. But I told her I was just looking for improvement. I'm 52, so I started doing this when I was 50 and finished when I was 51. I am not going to get braces at this point. Invisalign has brackety things that they can put on those but that did not work out. So Candid was the next best thing and it worked as well as I needed it to. I'm happy with the results. My teeth are not super perfect but they are much improved.
Regardless of whether you do Candid or Invisalign at your dentist's office, it's still a process. You've got to go get impressions made, and then they have to send off and they have to make those aligners and then you have to come back. But the good thing with Candid was I would get an email that said, "Hey, you can move to your next aligner now." I could do it when I got home from work, and not have to take off and go to the dentist. It was very convenient, and this was pre-COVID. That was a big thing for me because going to the dentist every two or three weeks was a little difficult.
I liked that there was an actual dentist involved that was looking at things and not just, "Yeah. It's been 14 days, go ahead and change." The dentist was in Knoxville and he was the one who was looking at my impressions. I would take my pictures and send them in, and then he would look at them and say whether I need to move on to my next step or not. I had crossbite on the bottom and some of my top teeth were a little out of alignment. My two eyeteeth were back from my front teeth a little bit. It wasn't anything horrible, but making impressions was horrid. I didn't like it when the dentist did it. I liked it even less when I had to do it. Then Candid emailed me and told me that I was a candidate, and that we can move forward.
I eventually talked to a care manager and we talked about payment plans and financing. I didn't have any issues while I was still an active client, but I did have a little bit of trouble finding a retainer after I was done. I needed to get a retainer and I couldn't figure out how to order it from their website. There was no link. But I emailed them and they sent me a link to order my retainer, so it worked out. Overall, the whole process went very smoothly. But a good thing that they could do is that as soon as I get done with a step, they could send me an email saying, "Hey, you're gonna need to replace your retainer in a few months and here's how to do that," instead of me having to say, "Okay, I need to do this, but how?" That way, I could put the emails in a folder and I could find the email later if I needed it.
One of my co-workers ended up doing her teeth through Candid too. We were talking about it and she asked me how many steps did I have. I told her about mine and then hers was not the same amount of steps from what she was altering. She had three fewer steps than I did. She told me that it was really good to know that my treatment plan was different from hers and Candid didn't just send everybody the same treatment plan. So it was individualized, which is good.
Candid was almost half the price of what Invisalign was going to be. My insurance would only pay $1,200 towards orthodontia for anybody. It was 4,700 for Invisalign, and I only paid 2,400 at Candid. I had 14 retainers and there were a couple of them that seemed like didn't fit right. Some part of it would rub my mouth the wrong way the whole time I was wearing it. They weren't sharp but it was the way they sat in my mouth. It would rub my gums and I bought some oral gel and sucked it up. I didn't like that part. It was not pleasant, but that was not Candid's fault. Any type of orthodontia would do the same thing.
Thanks, Mary. We appreciate your feedback.

I love steak so eating that was hard for me. I couldn't eat a lot of the foods that I liked. But it's okay now. My teeth aren't as crowded as it was before. I like the result but my teeth are not as straight. But then it's my fault as well because I don't wear the retainers a lot. If you don't keep your retainers, then your teeth are gonna start shifting. About three to four months after, I started seeing the shifting of my teeth.
Candid doesn't look at your teeth personally all the time. It's not like going through the dentist. So they don't really know the process of where your teeth are shifting. When I went to the dentist, they said something about my backbite not being there. It's like I don't have that much of a backbite because of the retainer. Overall, I like the experience, but at the same time, it does cause problems. If people wanted to have their teeth look straight and not stay straight, they could try Candid out. Because you have to be strict on yourself to keep wearing the retainers. But if you're not a person to remember things, it's not gonna stay straight.

I had been referred by my dentist to an orthodontist, and I didn't like the guy. He was super creepy. I wanted to have invisalign-type stuff, and he was like, "Oh, no, no. We need to pull all these teeth and you'll have metal braces for two years." I was like, "Oh, no, I have no desire to go through that." Then I was watching TV and there was an ad for a different company. I was looking it up and it had decent reviews. Then, I kept googling to see other companies. There was a website, and it was ranking all of the different online places to get invisible braces. The most positive reviews and the most number of reviews were for Candid. So, I kept looking at their website and thinking about it. There were more reviews on their website and it seemed great. The price was not the least expensive, but it seemed the most consistent. There were images of where people started and where they ended up, and that was what did it for me.
First, I got the molding kit and I sent it in because they want to make sure that you're compatible and that you would be able to see results. Even before I committed and paid, they showed me where I was right now, and then a model of where my teeth could get to. I was ecstatic. The second set of the invisible ones is where I started to see it happening. It was super exciting. I kept them in all the time. I only took them out to eat. I stopped snacking because I didn't wanna take it off in the daytime. I would take it off for lunch, and I would only drink water. I showed my husband my teeth and he was shocked because he was not convinced that it would work. It was apparent like week three that it was definitely working.
I would tell others to make the purchase from Candid. I have a weird spacing in my mouth. My mouth is somehow too small for my teeth. So, I'm sure that the original orthodontist was right that I would need to have teeth pulled to have it set in a different way. But the final product through Candid was amazing. I feel like it was completely worth it. It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself in the past 20 years.

I went to Candid's store in Chelsea in New York and they gave me the first examination. I had a very good experience with them in the store. They were very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I had some questions and they would answer. They told me this wouldn't do like 100% I wanted to do. They also sent me a video of how it's like after completing the treatment. I thought it's good so I went with the treatment and I started seeing results with Candid after the third aligners.
The app is not that user-friendly. I think they have changed some version of it because I did not get any notification. I had to delete the previous app then download the new app. That was a bit of a problem I faced. Also, some aligners were too tight so for two, three days, it was a lot of pain. But after two, three days, it’s gotten better. Right now, I'm on my 11th aligners. I didn't use it for three and a half months or four because I was in a different country and I forgot my aligners here. After completing my treatment, I want to go with the retainers.

I met with Candid pre-COVID in their office for a consultation. They showed me how to use the scanner and how to use the whitening gel. Everybody was very friendly. It was very easy to schedule the appointment. From there, I was pretty much on my own and I really never had an issue. It took six months total from start to finish. I love the results. They're great and I'm still wearing my nighttime retainer.
What really differentiates Candid is the dental monitoring tool. At times, I found it annoying, but it really helped to keep me on track, where I fell apart with other similar vendors. It actually became fun doing the dental monitoring scan. It was like a little ritual. So, it was cool. I would tell my friends and family who were thinking about Candid to go for it. It's totally worth it. It's affordable and easy. It's a great option if you want to maintain your smile or you're just somebody who never had braces before and you want to start.

The process with Candid was trying. But I'm okay with the results. I went from my consultation in January and I was told that everything would probably be finished in six to eight months. I had already started my first payment and nothing had been done. It hit right at the beginning of COVID. My aligners were ordered and I was told that they were going to be shipped to me, and they were not. They actually shipped them to the studio and then the studio couldn't find them. Then they had to be reordered and then sent to me because, at that point, I couldn't pick them up at the studio.
The time was continually going and when I finally got them, no one reached out because they didn't realize that I had them. So, I started off with the first tray, and it was in for six weeks. Since there was no communication, there was nothing that was sent to the orthodontist with the scanning. So, it started off pretty rocky. I wasn't able to actually start fully until June. When in actuality, at that point, I should have probably been almost done.
Thank you for your feedback, Reba. We appreciate it.

I went with Candid for the cost and I didn't have to go into it and see a dentist or orthodontist on a regular basis. The process was actually really easy. I went into one appointment and they did an assessment to say whether or not I was a good candidate for Candid. Then I signed up there and I got my aligners and this other tool used to scan my teeth throughout the process. I got that in the mail about a month after I first went in there for the initial visit. Every 10 days, I took a scan of my teeth and sent it in, and I got either the go-ahead to proceed to the next set of trays or I was told to keep it in for another week, and then move on to the next set of trays.
I do value face-to-face interaction. You don't get that with Candid at all. So, if you have any questions, you have to send them through the chat and then somebody will get back to you. But you don't know exactly how knowledgeable this person is or are they just relaying information from the orthodontist. Also, you know your orthodontist's name, but it's very little information that you know about the orthodontist that's reviewing your scans. I also noticed that while I was approaching the end of my trays and my aligners, there wasn't really anyone reaching out to me. I had to reach out to someone and ask them what to do next. Then now I'm getting promotional emails as if I didn't just go through the process already. Other than that, the results are pretty good. It also wasn't too expensive.
Thanks for your feedback, Endria. We really appreciate it, and congrats on your new smile!

Then, they said they would send me some of the whitening foam but they never did. But I'm satisfied with Candid. The aligners did what it was supposed to do. I just had to wear them every day. After the initial 10 days, they said to wear it for another couple of months or slowly wean off it. I don't like that I still have to wear the aligners but there's no way around that.

I like the pricing of Candid. They also have a location in DC before COVID that I could go into. I didn't have to do everything through a mail kit and I could actually talk to someone. I could meet with them and there wasn't a fee associated with it. I wanted to have the spacing of my teeth fixed. I had a retainer when I was a kid and it pushed my teeth. They looked like giant gravestones with a big gap in the middle. I'm glad I did it. I didn't know my teeth could look good. I feel really good about my smile now. Every morning, when I take my retainer off and I brush my teeth, I'm like, Oh my gosh! My teeth look like this now. It does make a difference. Also, in taking care of my teeth, like brushing, they're easier to maintain and clean than when they were all out of alignment.
Their process was straightforward. I had gone into the office and they did these 3D digital scans. I downloaded an app. They came up with a plan and sent it to me, and then they alerted me of every step of the process. The only issue I had was shipping. They shipped them to the location and I had to go pick them up, which was fine. It was very close to where I live. But the emails made it seem like they delivered it to my apartment. There was a good day of us trying to figure out where they were actually delivered. I was like, "I don't want to go through this again." But, there was just some miscommunication about where they were sent. That was the only hiccup. But customer service was great. Then it worked out because I got them a couple of weeks right before everyone went into quarantine.
During the quarantine, the checkups were all done virtually. There was an app that I do these scans for and they take the scans and they send them directly to the orthodontist and then I get feedback in a day of whether I was doing a good job or doing not so good a job. However, when I ordered a new retainer last week, I found their website a little clunky to click around. I went in looking to order a replacement retainer and it took a long time for me to find where to do it. It wasn't so straightforward. It logs me in and then it was like, "Here's your treatment plan." I was like, "I already know that. I've already done that. I want a replacement." But I've recommended Candid to a friend already. She's in her final steps right now.
Thanks for the kind words, Alicia! So happy we could help.

I looked at several products and I liked the fact that Candid had a real orthodontist preparing the molds and monitoring the process. They have it worked out better than the other companies. The way it works out is the teeth start realigning in the second or third week so you can see and you can feel slight progress in your mouth. The orthodontist and the medical people behind this whole program have taken some time to think this out. The doctors have created a good protocol and it should be followed to the letter. I went through the whole process which took a little over six months. I saw a definite improvement and I was very happy with the product. After I started using it, it aligned most of the teeth. It got to about 90% of what I wanted which I’ll accept.
I did have some difficulty in the beginning. I got the first mold and looked through all the literature that they gave me and it seemed all right. But at the same time, I still have to do a slightly better job. There were 12 different molds, teeth aligners in my package and I thought there should be two more. Someone misunderstood what I was asking for. I sent in the second set of molds and told them that it was partially because I wasn't satisfied with the mold if I made them at home. They came back with me a second time with 10 alignment brackets. That was even fewer than I wanted to. Then I had to go through a process of going back and getting the original 12.
They never really gave me everything that I wanted but I realized no system is perfect so I ended up doing the 12. They need better communication on that end. If someone is not satisfied with the initial grouping of aligners that they send out, they have to be able to respond to that more quickly. It took them about seven weeks to respond to that to get that straightened out. I have no problems with the doctor but the frontline people need to be better educated.
Thank you for your feedback, Rob. We appreciate it!

And then we did the foam trays, filled them in, and then I was able to track that. After they reviewed it and said that I was eligible, they called to set up a plan and a time to review it. I was then given a time frame when the aligners would be complete. And then, it was just putting it there and changing them every 7 to 10 days after taking the pictures. I started it in January and I was done with it in August. I'm happy with the results.

How to do the moldings was super straightforward and the instructions were clear. All around, it was the best possible choice to make. Also, it took three months to resolve my dental issues instead of the actual time of eight months that I was supposed to have it fixed. So that was another big plus. I had a gap and within the first month, I already saw it closing.
The product causes a light discomfort but depending on how you are and how your consultation is, you'll get used to it and they're also better than braces. I have to wear the product for an extended period of time, during the day and night. I only took them off whenever I needed to eat or drink something. As long as you wear them consistently for however much time that they tell you to wear them, then you'll see results. Because if not, then it will take a lot longer than you want it to and you won't get the results that you want. It's been an amazing experience. They fit well throughout the whole process. I really wanted to get the rest of my teeth corrected because my gums had adjusted in a way that was uncomfortable for eating. Food would get stuck up there because my teeth were not in place with the gums.
I didn't like the experience that I was receiving from Smile Direct. I started looking at places that were similar to Smile Direct and I did my own research. I found Candid and the preview of the straightening process that they gave me was more custom to my face and outside of just making my teeth straight. From the experiences that I had seen in the past, they just make my teeth look like an arc. Candid made it my version of straight, which I really liked.
I really liked the process with Candid. It was very hands-on. They let me know about every single step and even a step that had nothing to do with me. They put that in the app and they would send me little messages like, "The orthodontist is currently working on your plan, currently making changes." I really liked that because it helped me to see that that whole process was actually being done. It wasn't just that they took a picture and somehow 3D printed my teeth into a plastic shell and sent it right back to me.
The results I got have been perfect and I was just bragging to my sister today. I have a couple of gaps towards the back that I didn't have before so I just have to make sure I pay attention when I'm flossing at night. I also had to ask the customer service representatives about a routine to follow because that wasn't given to me automatically. They let me know how to reduce the time with the last set of aligners. I was waiting for that next bit of instructions to say something like, "Wait, you'll get a notification within 24 hours to tell you your next step or to put on your next retainer." I never really got that. I just took it upon myself to put on my next fit. I was just guessing that I should do that. In the end when I did my last retainer, I was still being told to put on other trays. But I was done. Another thing that I didn't like was the chat room. Because of the security features on my phone, my phone would blackout after five seconds. I would open my phone back up and the chat room would be over. I would have to order a new chat which was inconvenient.

Candid was simple and affordable. Because of the pandemic, it was good that I was able to do everything remotely. And I have the access to a dentist that is able to see my progress. That has been extremely helpful. My smile is better. My niece wants to take her braces off. They haven't done much for her. I think Candid would have been better for her.

I had already had braces before. So I figured, if Candid was something simple, it would just be easy to do it online. Plus, with COVID, it helped because I didn't have to go into the office. The process was what I expected. The results were good.

I liked the price, and the procedure seemed very easy and user-friendly. Candid is cheaper than other options. For what you pay for orthodontist visits, you don't have to because everything is done at home virtually, which worked out great during the pandemic. Candid works. I’m proof of concept. I feel great about my new smile.

I checked Candid out and I liked it. So, bought it. I wanted to enhance my teeth because they were forward and separated. The process was fine but at the end, the app kept telling me to check in with my doctor because it seemed that it didn't know that my process was over. Also, when I went in, the rep told me that at the end of my process, they would send me my retainers but that was not how it was. I was expecting to receive the retainers and I never got them. When I called in, they said that I had to purchase it on the side, which was not what I thought. So, I was disappointed at that. Still, the product worked fast so that was great. I used the kit from March to August and my new smile is exactly what I expected.
Thanks for letting us know, Karla! We appreciate your feedback.

My dad had used Candid and it worked for him. So, we went with them. The videos in making the mold so that they could make your retainers were helpful and it was easy enough for me to do at home. It was nice to have the app where it showed, with the pictures of your teeth, how different they looked. By the second week, I was seeing changes. It was a good product. I had it for eight weeks and it worked for me.
This is wonderful! Thanks for your feedback, Porter.

I had braces before, and I've always been used to straight teeth after having straight teeth. I wouldn't wear my retainers. They ended up breaking. And so, my teeth ended up going back to how they were. There were little gaps and movements that I didn't like. I just wanted to fix them that way. I liked Candid's follow-up process, how they kept up to date and monitored. It was very similar to how the dentist does. The overall process was pretty straightforward and easy to manage. I like the results. I felt like it was very good for what I paid.
Thanks for your feedback, Alexi. We really appreciate it!

Candid was convenient for me. I had always been a little bit insecure because my bottom teeth was always crowded. So that was the procedure that I did for my bottom teeth. Now, they are straight and I love it. I woke up that morning of my last little thing that I put in my mouth and I was excited. I called my mom and told her about it. I also told my boyfriend the same thing. It made me very happy. I love the fact that you can do it at home and you don't have to go in for an appointment every time you have to get the aligners changed. Everything was online. Even when I had questions, I could still contact the people from Candid online and they reply very fast. Everything is perfect.

Candid had an actual orthodontist. I went to one of their studios here in Houston. The process was a little painful, but it was anything to have a good smile. I'm very surprised with the results. As far as the cost, it was a lot cheaper than the other bigger company that has been around for more years. Also, they kept checking up on me every 14 days. I'll scan my teeth and I'll get some feedback from the orthodontist.
The company is great. The feedback is great. Their studios are beautiful. Their employees right there are really nice. They walk you down through the whole process, between how the treatment is gonna be and even down to how much you're gonna be paying, and if you wanna be wanting to do payments instead of paying it full, or if you wanna put down with insurance. I had a great experience with them.
Thanks for your feedback, Daniel! We really appreciate it.

Candid was a great choice. I started seeing results after the first month and the program took eight months. It works very well. After my teeth had been straightened, I couldn't connect my back teeth anymore. I had to get my front teeth shaved down, which was fine. I had to get re-scanned for a new retainer after that. For all alignment processes, that it can create black holes in your teeth beneath your gums because of the realignment. Your gums obviously aren't changing shape, so people should be made aware of that upfront. Another thing is that it can change the alignment of your overall bite. So to get the full results, you might need to get some additional dental work afterward. Other than that, the customer service from Candid was very responsible when I had an issue. So, it was a great experience.

I had braces when I was a kid and then after high school, I lost my lower retainer. My teeth were already decent but I told myself to fix it. I saw Candid and it seemed like a decent price over Invisalign. It's all at home. I ordered the kit and did the try on thing. It was $2,400 and it sounded fine to me. I started wearing them and I went through the entire process. Then, I noticed my teeth were sensitive towards the product. I wound up chipping one of my teeth and I stopped wearing it for a couple days. I tried to wear back again and it didn't work out. So I tried to contact Candid through chat and I was told that trying to refit it would be an extra price. I tried to make it work but it didn't and so, I stopped wearing it.
My lower teeth are more crooked than they were when I first started. So I'm not satisfied with the product. It’s probably more buyer's remorse. If you have sensitive teeth, you should be warned about the product beforehand and maybe use a different treatment process. But it is what it is. Candid should be more open. They charge an extra 1,000 bucks and that was a bummer. If I'm gonna pay more, I'd rather go to an actual orthodontist and get a guaranteed thing now. It just happens. You buy a cheaper product, you get cheaper results. But I'm an understanding person and I understand the consumer market. I am partially at fault because I didn't follow the directions absolutely verbatim and being an engineer, I know the procedural compliance portion of it.

Candid was very friendly and they had a studio for me to go into and speak to a rep. Their process was very easy. From the app, the box they gave me, the trays, to the packaging for the remote monitoring, things were all professionally done and very organized. Their color palette, marketing, and the way their studio is designed are very pleasing. The customer support team was very responsive. It was very beneficial that they hand an orthodontist who did remote monitoring as well.
The only thing that Candid needs to do differently is to have additional little pull tools for me to remove my aligners. The initial set they provided only gave me one. That tool breaks when the user puts in a fresh set of aligners and it's really tight. I had to wait for another one to come in. That replacement got delayed in the mail so I had to order a new one. Candid needs to give two or three of those pull tools. My aligner got stuck in my teeth and I had to use a metal paint can opener to get it out of my mouth. Other than that, I'm 100% happy with my new smile.
If more people knew about the remote orthodontist monitoring service, I feel like that could be a major differentiator. A lot of people who are interested in doing aligners don't realize how important it is to have a professional to tell them whether they need to stay on the current stuff or it's okay to move on to the next stuff. Candid's orthodontists tell you because they monitor my teeth remotely. That is a major highlight. I've referred other people to use Candid.

Getting fitted was an easy process. I was able to actually go into the Boston location and they did the measurements. The amount of time I had to wear the Candid product during the course of the day, taking it out to eat and putting them back in was a little bit more daunting of a task than I expected. But, I stuck with it and I got through the treatment. It worked well and my teeth are nice and straight. I'm using my last set as my nightly retainer.

I wasn't very happy with my teeth. I was very interested in braces and aligners in general because I had braces before. One's smile is one of the most important things about one's appearance. The process with Candid was kind of a mess. When I applied, I had the agent tell me that I could use my insurance using a code. That code ended up not working. Whether or not that was my fault, I ended up paying the full price. I've never been able to contact Candid customer support after that. I've been asking about how I can get my final alignment pair and I still haven't heard from them. The retainers were good though.
