We have a Simmons Beautyrest that has only been used for about 1 year. We got it 4 years ago but put it in a guestroom that is never used so the mattress wasn't used until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we put it in our bedroom and decided to try it out. After a few months we started to feel backaches. This continually got worse. I called Spencers and they were rude but said they would send out a mattress inspector. A man came out the following week on October 14, 2015 and measured and took pictures. He saw the huge indentions and agreed it was not right. The sides of the mattress are collapsing also. He said he would give Spencers the report and they would call me in 3 to 4 days.

They didn't call, so I called them and they said they would call back. They didn't so I called again. Each time I called I was very polite but everyone there has a very bad attitude. Finally they said the mattress was within the guidelines and they would not replace it. The mattress is sinking below 2 inches in some places and puffing up in others. It is a total wreck and we don't abuse the mattress - no stains or marks - always use a mattress cover. Spencers is not standing behind this default and they have been extremely mean and rude to us. I have bought appliances from them since 1994 but will no longer be a customer of theirs.

As far as Beautyrest I think their product is horrible and not long lasting at all and their warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on. This is a big farce and a hoax by both Spencers and Simmons Beautyrest. The Manager of Spencers said he has these mattresses all through his home and they are great. Of course, he would say that. I told him maybe we got a lemon and he refused to listen.

I am thinking of taking this to court because of the lack of integrity and the total rudeness of Spencers. I would advise everyone to go elsewhere and never buy a product by Simmons Beautyrest. I had a Serta that was over 20 years old that was perfect and I gave it away when I got this Beautyrest mattress. Wish I would have kept my Serta. Our backs are suffering and we wake up every morning with pain. Thank you Spencer and Simmons. You deserve each other. This Spencers is in Gilbert in the San Tan Valley Store.

Simmons Beauty Rest Recharge Luxury Firm. Purchased this mattress on 10/05/2015 from Bedding Plus in Harvey, LA. This mattress after 5 days - I knew that I did not love it. I paid $899.00. Overpaid first of all and second no support. The one in the store is so much better. This one is horrible. I purchased this one based on a consumer report from 2013.

My wife and I took delivery of a Simmons Beautyrest Mattress purchased at our local Sears store and immediately noticed it had a chemical odor. My wife refused to sleep on it and I proceeded to call the 1 800 FROM-HELL number. I was told that I would have to use the mattress for 30 days before I could return it and that the smell would disappear in about a week. I was also told that unless the mattress was defective I would be charged a 15% restocking fee as well as a delivery charge for picking up the mattress.

After airing it out for a week I wrapped the mattress in waterproof cover to mitigate the smell and tried to sleep on it (alone). This was definitely NOT the same Mattress I lied on at the Sears store. It was considerably harder, akin to lying on a carpeted floor. After three hours I could not take it anymore, the pain in my back and shoulders forced me to head for the couch. The next few nights were the same, so I went on Amazon and ordered a 3" memory foam topper.

I looked around the internet and found that those who sold mattresses recommend "breaking a new mattress in" as I was told by the Sears people. I went back to the Sears store to lie on the mattress model I had at home just to confirm that it was different and I was told there that the store model was "broken in by all the people who come try out the mattresses and that it was only a matter of time before my mattress would be soft like the store model".

This Sears is in a Mall that is clearly dying, in the 5 or so hours that we spent in the store we were the sole customers, all the salesperson time was devoted to our bed sale. I don't know who the people who broke in the beds were but they weren't around when we were there. We spent about 10 minutes on the mattress. The mattress in the store was not the same as the toxic torture rack that was in my bedroom.

Finally the topper arrived and I was able to coax my wife into vacating the guest bedroom. It has been almost a month, we have cornered the market on ibuprofen and always have the slight scent of formaldehyde / gasoline in the back of our sinus. The topper helped a little but this bed is still unbearable. We went to change the sheets yesterday and a soon as the plastic cover came off the toxic fumes filled the room. There are now body pod indentations with a ridge in the middle of the bed, it isn't going to get more "broken in".

I called 1 800 SCREWU number again insisting that this mattress was defective because of the toxic odor. I was told that I could purchase another bed but would still have to pay the 15% restocking fee plus a charge to pick up the other mattress (roughly $200). The mattress was a piece of crap, but I have been a Sears customer for many years and have never encountered a problem with the return like this. The bottom line is that Sears thinks it can sell you a sack of dung to sleep on and that you have to live with it for thirty days and then pay big to have endured the experience.

We bought our first mattress on September 2013 from State College, Pennsylvania. The first one started to sag by January and we placed the complaint by March. The mattress was replaced by September. The new mattress was alright in the beginning but come February it was sagging exactly like the first mattress. When we called up the store they told us we will have to contact Simmons directly since we had moved to New York City in this time. Simmons sent in someone to test the damage on the mattress but then said the sag wasn't deep enough for them to replace mattress. This wasn't true because this time the damage was more than the previous bed and even the inspector said so.

My husband and I didn't argue and figured we would wait to register a complaint again in 3 months. We got it tested in august again (please note: this is the second mattress being tested the second time for damage), and this time the sag was deep enough for them to be convinced. Close to 3 inches! That practically a huge gaping hole in the mattress. However, Simmons says that they will give us credit only for Simmons beds. At this point I'm livid! Clearly, this company has bad products and I don't see why I'm forced to buy from them again. This has been the single most tormenting experience for my husband and me. We sleep poorly, wake up with body pain and all because we were foolish enough to buy from Simmons. I suggest that no one ever buys a Simmons product ever. This company has BAD WORK ETHICS AND BAD PRODUCTS. They are stealing from hardworking Americans!

My husband and I have been with Starwood - Westin for many years. Our most recent experience has led us to believe that a) the quality of the Simmons Heavenly bed has deteriorated b) quality control with Simmons and/or Westin has deteriorated c) Simmons is outsourcing the manufacturing to lesser companies using inferior materials d) there is no longer consistency associated with the brand. We complained to the hotel and they responded with a bed board. We were in Princeville, HI, and unfortunately, having terrible night's sleep. I spoke with other Villa guests who concurred with me, so I know I wasn't the only crank. After reading other reviews, I have decided that Simmons was riding on their laurels and started cheaping out. The quality is not what they and Westin built their reputations on. We should be returning from what should be a rejuvenating vacation with aching backs.

Regrets for not researching any complaints before purchasing a Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Pillow Top. I can verify every backache, sleepless night complaint online from the 3/4" to 1 1/2" sink hole to edge blowout verified from 2 different mattress inspection companies on a 10 month old King Beautyrest Pillow Top Recharge, 5 of those 10 months the bed wasn't even slept in (average build - 185lb). Every claim in advertisement from no rotate mattress to support for all position sleepers, 10 yr warranty, all unsupported (pun intended). I am believer feet and sleep are worth an investment so invested my savings in what I thought was a quality Beautyrest brand and company but it's nothing but a fancy name. My descriptions echo every complaint on this ConsumerAffairs site. If anyone starts any legal action I'm in.

Simmons claims department is full what I call professional arguers, me believing honey attracts theory - in a normal prepared conversation with the Simmons claims representative talking 100% percent about the mattress and description of its defect and found facts by their hired mattress inspector the representative interrupts me with "there's no reason be rude" and ran with that spin diversion. lol - never did I use a derogatory personal term, never a four letter word, never even a justified an emotional escalated voice. Obviously they get a lot of these claims so they are trained professional spinners and I didn't take the bait, I insisted on talking to a supervisor and denied 4 times and threatened to be hung up but politely insistent to talk with a supervisor. Then put on hold for 9 minutes only to be told I would get a return call in up to 2 days.

Just sharing this BS only to let others know of the lack of quality and customer service of this company which shows in their product. A quote from Simmons claims department letter to me after the mattress inspector finds a sink hole and edge blow out on my 10 month old Beautyrest - "The compaction of the panel in this style of bedding is to be expected," "The mattress is contouring to the shape of your body," "In assessing your claim, we found no structural failure in either mattress or box spring/foundation." Which is exactly the opposite of salesman words from Mega Furniture that convinced me to invest in my sleep.

So everybody should know as per Simmons Corporate Warranty Department states a 3/4" to 1 1/2" waist body location divot/sink hole and edge blow out (as all present in mine) is not defective as per Simmons. Letter to prove. Considering reporting to our local channel 3 news on our side (a consumer rip off reporter) - and let them blast this truth over the news.

Well, I mattress is supposed to last for years, so why worry? Big, big mistake... The first five months mattress was perfect. Now, on my side it is impossible to sleep. It is at least 2 inches deeper than the other side. I've contacted Simmons and their response was: "no warranty." They don't even want to know what happened... they should try to see the product, understand what is going on and improve their services. On the other hand, why do that? It is just one customer, right? Simmons, never again. Please, don't ever purchase something from them!

I think your Beauty Rest mattresses are a far cry as to what you advertise. Don't waste your money on Simmons Mattress. I bought a new Simmons REAGAN ULTIMATE mattress at the Gardner White Furniture store in Canton, MI in March 2015 and paid $2400 for it. Five months later, it sags and is totally killing my back. The people at Gardner-White were of no help at all. I will NEVER buy anything from them again. The manager basically told me "Tough luck. It's because you sat on the side of your bed." You'd think if you paid this amount of money for what is supposed to be a premium mattress, it would last longer than five months. Totally worthless. I hate it and wish I'd never heard of Simmons BeautyRest and Gardner-White.

We are on our second mattress warranty on our Simmons BeautyRest mattress. Like everyone else's, our mattress sunk in deep on both sides after three months. The first mattress went to a depth of 2 inches. I filed the claim through our dealer, Mattress Firm. They sent out the measuring service (Precise Measuring Service) and he said we would hear back shortly. Within two weeks we receives a letter of credit for the purchase price. We upgraded to the pillow top version of the Mitzi model. Within three months, my wife's side had a 3 inch depth (she weighs 126 lbs). My side was a solid 2.5 inches.

We were told that three of Simmon's factories had a problem with the glue that holds the group of four springs down. These are the pocketed coils. when the glue fails, the springs stay stuck down and do not come back up. We were told that problem had already been addressed and all the new deliveries do not have those defects. Mattress Firm only told us what they heard from Simmons. Well, let me tell you what I think. Simmons lied. They did not give a frog's fat hiney about their mistake with the defects but decided to continue selling their mattresses knowing full well that they were built like crap. Simmons should be sued by everyone. They may have pioneered the mattress, but some fool at the company's helm is going to take the company and it's reputation down (the stockholders should get rid of this clown).

How many others like us will never every buy a pillowcase if it has the Simmons name on it?? Now, as for Mattress Firm, I believe they are one top notch outfit. I have dealt with three different store locations and they, unlike Macy's or Sears, handle the claim form for you and see to it that your issues are resolved. As I sit here typing this, I received a call from the store manager letting me know that our new Sealy Posturpedic Deveraux king will be delivered on Wednesday between 12pm and 3pm. I know for a fact that there will not be these issues with Sealy. As for Simmons, I'm am letting you know that they and their beds are a frigging disgrace. If I ran that company, I would be so embarrassed I would just go hang myself.

After a positive interaction with Simmons Mattresses, Bruce increased their star rating on July 24, 2015.

    Updated review: July 24, 2015

After multiple discussions with the Simmons Authorized Reseller, the issue has been resolved to my wife's and my satisfaction.

Thank you, Sleep Experts for resolving this issue. MY wife and I are very happy with the new Tempurpedic mattress purchased through your sore. Our back issues are much improved since changing to the Tempurpedic.

The only reason I am not changing this to a 5 star rating is the behavior of the delivery personnel. The contractors initially refused to pick up the old mattress, calling their supervisor and telling him the box springs were broken due to the fabric being torn on a corner from my cats. A 15 year old (yes 15 years old) box spring with torn and frayed fabric, but no structural issues.

The box springs were not even part of the return and should have had no bearing on it. Add to it the fact that they were talking about the issue plus my wife and I in Spanish while standing in front of us, that's just rude. They were shocked and embarrassed when my wife, a native Spanish speaker, responded. It took 30 minutes but Sleep Experts personal straightened the issue out with the contract delivery personnel and we received our new mattress.

    Original Review: July 16, 2015

16 Months after purchase both sides of mattress sagged >2.0 inches, up to 2.0 in one spot. It looks like somebody climbed into the mattress and pushed all of the padding to the side. Sleep Experts granted a warranty return for store credit. When they came to deliver the new mattress they denied the warranty based on staining. Per agreement with the District manager we had the mattress professionally cleaned and sanitized, and they still refused the warranty return. Bad mattress, poor customer service. For those that have asked, there is a potential class action lawsuit pending over Simmons and other Manufacturer's warranty denials at **.

I have had the same problems everyone else is having with my Simmons Mattress. Just purchased on April 6, 2015, after a week I noticed it was sinking. But they scam you by telling you to sleep on it longer to get adjusted because then you go past the few days open to fully return with no questions. This is how they get you. Had a tech come out on May 23 - mattress measured at just below an inch defect. But has to be over 1 1/2. They won't come back out for another 30 days. Then came back on July 3 (I was out of town so I couldn't do it as of June 23). Now it measures at 1 inch. Although when the first visit and report I received said it had to be over 1 inch. Now the store (Gardner White) is telling me it has to be over 1 1/2 inches to be considered defective.

We purchased Firm bed (Simmons Recharge World Class Alexandria Luxury) and we stayed on the bed for more than five minutes to make sure it was firm. However, when the bed was delivered it was not firm so we complained to delivery people, but they request that we complaint to the store. This was our second mistake (we paid most of it with a check-first mistake)-we should refused the delivery. But we thought perhaps we were wrong. We went to store on Monday as the delivery took place on Saturday. We went to the same bed and no sagging with both of us on the bed. Went back to the house and with both of us the bed sagged more than 4 inches. Our son weighs 210 lbs, 6'1" and he can only get out of the bed by rolling on the side.

We contacted Simmons and was told we must go thru the merchants to initial the claim. We called the store and spoke with owner, Larry. Got to start the claim with Simmons but he got really upset with us and asked us to show him the email we received from Simmons. We went to the store with receipt and email so that claim can start. We then received a call from a third party inspection company to come out but there was a charge of $48 and the store refused to pay so we paid and it showed 1 7/8 sagging without anyone on the bed. We were forced to remove wood legs under the bed for a support before inspector came out as loose legs were creating so much noise.

This was back in May. The Simmons sent us an email with a claim number. We emailed to them end of May requesting a status on our claim. On June 1, 2015 we received email from Simmons saying they do not have claim for us. We emailed with pictures from the inspectors along with his report as well as previous emails from Simmons. Here is almost July, not a word from them. We are going to continue to call Simmons but so far, we are always, always getting their standard recording.

In Feb 2013, my husband and I researched for a new mattress and ended up purchasing a Simmons Comforpedic Advanced Rest Firm mattress through the Navy Exchange. When the mattress was delivered we were extremely happy with our decision. We were very diligent in care with the mattress since had purchased the mattress with the intent to get 10 years of use of it. So we rotated the mattress every 6 months to help out even out wear and purchased a special mattress protector for it as well. Within one year of ownership the metal inside of the box spring had started to bend and caused the mattress to start to sag. In March 2015, my husband's back started hurting and was eventually forced to sleep in our guest bedroom. I contacted Simmons and opened a warranty claim with them at the end of May.

On June 8th 2015, a gentleman (supposedly an independent contractor) came out and took some pictures of the mattress and box spring and told us that Simmons would inform us of their decision within 5 to 7 business days. Today is June 17th, 2015, and just received an email from the company stating that the mattress'es' warranty is void due to staining and the box spring's warranty is void due to a bent borders wire. I called to get further clarification since the email was confusing. The lady explained that the staining shows improper care or neglect of the mattress so it voids the warranty. The bent border wire on the box spring also shows that we supposedly didn't take care of it. So even though the mattress and box spring clearly show that it cannot handle daily use due to not using the proper materials in construction or a design defect, Simmons will not honor their warranty.

My husband is 230 lbs and I weigh 130 lbs. We are not overweight people and don't abuse our stuff. There is no reason that a mattress with a 25 year warranty should be needing replacement at 2 years of use. Given the fact that we spent over $1000 on this set to get what was supposed to be a quality product from a quality company, I won't be giving them my money again. I suggest you stay away from them and find another company to purchase from.

We purchased our mattress(Simmons BeautyRest Dufay Plush) 5 years ago. We bought it like most because it was very comfortable while lying on it in the stores, name and price... Plush but firm. Since it's a pillow top mattress you can't flip it so we rotated it switching sides so that different weights would keep the bed maintained. WRONG. About a year or two ago we started feeling both sides cave in and a hump in the middle. As time went by it got worse. We finally decided to do something about it. I was thinking we only bought this 5 years or so ago it shouldn't be doing this. But nevertheless we broke down this last weekend and went shopping. The lady in the store where we bought our new mattress said all mattresses should come with 8 year warranty and not give or sink more than 1 1/2 inch or whatever.

Well we needed a mattress bad my husband's back had been killing him. And like other reviews after getting out of the bed and stretching he felt ok so we knew it was the mattress... So we continued with purchase. Since then I looked at the label on the mattress and it was manufactured exactly 5 years ago last month. I start looking for receipt and didn't look to hard. I called store where we purchased to see if they had record of us buying hadn't heard back but only called them yesterday. So I start looking online and my gosh the same and bad reviews. Every review I have read is the same description of what happened to mine. You know companies expect certain number of people to not go through with a warranty or not use a gift card or rebate. That's how they make money. Then those that do go through with submitting warranty claims and such they think they will give up over time because of the hassle.

Well I general do what's right, true and just and go back to the manufacturer etc depend on warranty. I mean isn't that why you bought the product because of the warranty or good word behind it. Well I have my new mattress coming today and to be honest if I stored my old mattress in the cottage or garage I somehow think that Simmons would need it setup in original bed frame etc to be able to measure the obvious collapse in the mattress..etc. And it will need to have collapsed 2 inches or do to our weight it collapsed or whatever. Well this is one time I will agree with my husband it's not worth the headache. So what have we all learned from this purchase? DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE BUYING SOMETHING OR PLAN AHEAD TO NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WHEN SOMETHING THAT HAS A 1, 2, 3 OR 10 YEAR WARRANTY BREAKS DOWN BEFORE IT'S A 1/4 OR 1/2 OVER.

I purchase a Simmons Beautyrest, pillow top. The springs worn out, pit in middle, contacted warranty service in January. 1st no answer, then after telling them I would contact social media, BBB, Atty gen for Ohio, I got an email. They evaded any warranty service to me by sending multiple requests to fill out the same form over and over again. I had to send 4 times, 4 months and finally got a phone call for service after 5 working days so another 8 days. They would not come when I could get help (I have an injury) and said they would come 4 days later at 10AM. No call, no return call after 6 calls to them. 2 hours later I call a confirmation # and get immediate call from Mr. ** Cleveland Ohio. He tells me he is not coming today, has to reschedule. I said "well this is unacceptable business, why didn't you call me to tell me or answer my calls?"

I had him on speaker so my husband could hear and Mr. ** proceeded to yell at me and say that I have been giving him a hard time since he got my case. Because he was yelling at me, my husband hung up on him. Five days later I get an email that they are unable to handle my claim. I have to send them photos of all sides of mattress, flipped upside down and the box springs flipped upside down and so on. There is no way I can do that with my injury. So the bed is going in the garbage because that is what it is - garbage. And so is the company. Buyer beware. Do not buy any mattress or any kind of warranty from Simmons Beautyrest or from Value City Furniture. Neither one of them would deal with the so called 10 year warranty.

The mattress began sagging and Rooms To Go honored the warranty and I upgraded to a $1600.00 Simmons mattress in 12/22/06. As of today, 05/15/15, this mattress is also sagging at shoulder level. The warranty has 19 months left. Rooms To Go will not honor the warranty because their company goes by original purchase back in 1999 and told me to go to Simmons. Simmons will not honor the warranty because I bought it from a company still in business. Simmons should replace or refund my money.

Warranty Registered at the time of purchase - 10 Year Warranty Repair or Replace. Warranty Card states: "Examples of an improper foundation include net or slat type bed frame - foundation of different size or foundation that provides inadequate support to the mattress." NOTE: We purchased MATTRESS ONLY as the base is a King size Sealy Posturepedic Solid Firm Base. (It is not slated/netted.)

Inspection & Result: They came to measure the sunken mattress/took photos/measured etc. Customer Service called to say "CANNOT replace or fix - because it's not Simmons base." They cannot be responsible for sunken mattress - they said because of the "base being used"... this is the problem which caused their "mattress" to collapse not one side but TWO both sides with a huge bump in the center of the bed!!

This is absolutely disgusting!! If everyone's bases worldwide were such a problem... why are Simmons selling Mattresses separately without Bases? Why not sell BED SET (Mattress with Base)?? This is the biggest SCAM I have ever seen and I will report problem on every social media /network available. Talk about Passing the BUCK!!!!

ATTENTION SIMMONS! You should be ashamed of how you are scamming all your customers into buying your very Expensive "Mattresses Only" and then refusing to replace defected mattress after only 3 years and "blaming the sunken mattress on the base set" that has nothing wrong with it. (I will be getting Sealy posturepedic in here to inspect this base and will get a report to prove this base is not listed as "inadequate support.") Can't wait to get this onto Facebook, Twitter, Hellopeter.com and more. I will ensure many people see this complaint and show exactly what Crooks Simmons are! Disgusted.com

The picture of this mattress made it look like it would be heavenly to sleep on. The word "firm" gave me the impression that I won't sink in. The name brand and price lead me to believe it will last for years to come. I was wrong on all three counts. When it came time for us to buy a new mattress, I wanted one that would be comfortable while offering a decent level of support... and I wanted it to stay that way. I was willing to pay for my requirements so I went for a name brand. I liked the concept of Beautyrest's individual coiling system so I made it a point to check it out while shopping. I went to several stores and laid on I don't know how many mattresses and I kept coming back to the Beautyrest because it seemed to have what I was looking for.

Within a month I thought it felt like I was sinking into it more than when it was first delivered but I figured it must be my imagination because certainly a $1400 Beautyrest World class mattress with the word firm in the name wouldn't start sinking within 30 days. So, I stuck it out but when my back started aching before the 6 month mark, I knew it wasn't in my head. This mattress was caving in. Now, if you're thinking I must be over-sized for this to have happened, you're wrong. My husband and I are average size people, give or take 10 lbs.

I called Beautyrest and they sent someone out to measure the sink hole and take pictures and I'm waiting on the outcome which they send in the mail. Without any applied pressure, the mattress has an 1 1/2 inch concave and I think the replacement warranty states that it must be 2 inches so my bet is my claim will be denied. To be honest, I don't even want a replacement because if this problem happened once, it will happen again. I'd rather have my hard earned money back and start from square one with mattress shopping. Since they replace rather than refund, I would most likely sell the brand new replacement on the Craigslist for half price and start over. But as I said, I think they're going to tell me I have to deal with it until it caves in another 1/2" (which should be soon enough).

Bottom line is, if you are tempted to buy this mattress because it looks wonderful in the picture or feels great in the store, don't give into it. You and your back won't be happy this time next year so keep looking. It is not money well spent.

UPDATE: I heard back from Simmons and sure enough they denied the claim, stating that the sink hole was normal (scary, huh?). I went ahead and did a little research and saw one star review after one star review of this same caving in problem and claims being denied. I also came to the realization that the few 4 or 5 star reviews that spoke of how comfy cozy the mattress were likely written within the first few weeks of purchase. I'd love to see what those same people have to say after a year. Oh how I wish I had done my internet research rather than assuming I couldn't go wrong with the Simmons Brand. I learned this lesson the hard way. It won't happen again though.

ANOTHER UPDATE: My husband was out of town over the weekend so I had the bed to myself. I laid in the center of the bed and there is literally a raised, firm ridge that goes down the center of the mattress lengthwise (where neither of us lay)! To the right and left of the ridge, you roll downhill then back up again as you near the outside edge of the mattress. Simmons gets out of their warranty by measuring the sink hole without applied pressure. So what they consider a 1-1/2" concave is actually much more because, duh, people lay on the mattress when they use it!

AND YET, ANOTHER UPDATE: A few months ago I had Simmons out again to measure the sink hole and it met their depth requirement for a replacement. Our bed has 5 support slats and the rep said Simmons requires 6 support slats so our claim would likely be declined again. Our bed came with 5 slats and was newly purchased about a year before we purchased the mattress. I thought "another loop hole" for Simmons to get out of their warranty. In addition to the mattress, the rep took pictures of the bed so Simmons could see it was new and surprisingly it worked. They approved the claim. They gave us a limit on the amount we could spend and it was several hundred dollars less than what we paid.

Plus, we had to pay for shipping and for the matching box spring. I ordered the firmest mattress they offer. When it arrived it was as hard as a rock but I was OK with that. My thinking was the worst that could happen is it would go from an Extra Firm to a Firm, and since there was no plush topper, there was that much less that could collapse. Wrong. Once again in the first month there are body impressions on both sides and a firm ridge in the center. I just don't get how they can still be in business. I really don't. Neither my husband nor I are big people.

I purchased this Simmons Beautyrest Mattress in April of 2012. I went away for a year so it has only been slept on for less than two years. My terribly sore back wakes me up every morning and after stretching a bit it goes away, so I know this is the mattress not just a sore back. Most mornings I am not even sure I will be able to move. I emailed Simmons and they told me to contact the store I purchased it from which was Leon's in Sarnia, Ontario (where I purchased it from for $500) and they sent out The Furniture Doctor who measured it and took pictures.

This problem has been ongoing and started about 1 year ago or more. The mattress was not stained when this started to happen but did get stained over time due to dogs and their dirty feet hopping on before I got the sheets on or just chewing a bone or toy on the bed. But because it was stained Simmon's would do nothing. I am very sure that even if there were no stains they would have come up with a different reason not to replace their horrible product. I really do not want another one but would have taken it if it was my only option. I would prefer to buy a different brand and will be in the near future. I cannot sleep like this. Shame on you Simmons!

Did purchase a Simmons beauty rest luxury mattress from Mattress Warehouse and within 6 months it became saggy and uncomfortable to sleep. I did follow up with customer service and got an appointment from the inspection team and he did come verified the mattress and confirmed that it's saggy and can get a replacement.

Got a letter from them stating we can replace the mattress. I did pay $848 during my initial purchase. Simmons said "you don't need to pay for the delivery" but Mattress Warehouse charged for the delivery. Despite of spending hours on phone this happened. After wasting all our efforts finally this guy came for delivery and said there are strains on the mattress and couldn't exchange. After all the approval these guys said this. Such a betrayal and pathetic service.

I was gone right after the initial purchase & didn't start noticing this until a few mos after I was back & Mattress Firm wouldn't take it back by then. I would have waited to purchase the mattress but never imagined it would fail like that!!! This mattress has caused me to have back problems with an impingement on my L4 & L5 vertebrae resulting in 2 mos of physical therapy. Now I sleep on the couch! I figured if I purchased a mattress for $700.00 it would hold its value for at least 8 yrs!! 2 years & it's dust! Don't ever buy a Simmons Beautyrest!!!!!

    P. S. The Warranty code is "I" for mattresses purchased 2015 & before which means it has a warranty of 20 yrs! I called Mattress Firm on 5-1-15 & they said it has to have a sag of 1-1/2" BEFORE I lay on it which doesn't make sense. I fall into the middle of it only after I'm on it. We will see what manufacturer says but Mattress Firm said they most likely will NOT take it back.

The day before we got the new bedroom suit I did waste a small amount of juice on the mattress but we purchased a separate warranty for stains etc. with another company. Simmons agreed to replace the mattress because the product is defective and shouldn't be tearing apart. However, they wanted to replace it without providing me the rest of my warranty because of the 1 stain. I advised them the replacement is not because of a stain but a bad product and we have the other warranty company coming to clean the small stain. The customer service manager keep telling me the warranty states no replacement if the mattress has a stain but that is not true.

This company has sold me a bad product and now they want to give me the same bad product without an warranty. I am extremely dissatisfied. I advised the manager, I would come by the corporate office to speak to someone else in management and she told me I was not allowed to come to the corporate office. She even had another manager call me and say I was not allowed to come and she would call security on me if I came to the headquarters to speak to someone else. I will be calling the news media on this company and anyone that will listen. I was threaten by this company and was told security would get me (a customer) for coming to their corporate office to discuss my issue. Sad day when companies sell bad products, lie about warranty coverage and threaten you after you have spent money with them.

Called them with 2 sagging queen mattresses, both firm plush recharge, after only 2 and 3 years use. Place of purchase no longer carried Simmons. A technician was sent to measure the sags' depths. Both mattresses only qualified for replacement, but there were stipulations such as where you couldn't shop for Simmons, they couldn't be clearance or closeout, DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE PRODUCT but retain it until the end of the process, and they only allowed a $399 level price point each. I paid more for the 2 that failed each, and they were nice. I was told by their product specialist that I would have to pay an upcharge between only what it cost to make it, plus shipping, delivery, and taxes.

The form read, and I was told to locate dealers selling Simmons, test various brand models, and fill out 2 forms with the ones we liked. We chose one similar to what we had, the upcharge was $960! Plus shipping, delivery, taxes. I said no way would I give them more money on top of what I had already paid for the failed product. If I were going to spend $960, plus $568, the price of one mattress I bought, I could invest in a much nicer mattress.

They sent another form for the second choice. It was a little different. The first asked for the SET SALE price in the store, name of retailer, even though the letter read, and I was told by the product specialist that the retailer would have no involvement in the replacement process other than allowing us to test the display models. I wondered why the retailer and the set price of the retailer was needed information, because I was told the upcharge would be the difference between cost of making it and the price level point of $399. So we went back and found another cheaper one we liked, and filled out the forms.

The second form asked for retailer, and MATTRESS ONLY REGULAR PRICE in the store with more stipulations, no discontinued models, no models at certain stores. The statement "the regional plant will manufacture the replacement for you" was there, also. They assess your selection noting applicable charges. Then an offer letter with instruction on redeeming your replacement and how to make payments will be sent. The upcharge on the second choice was $249! The retailer manager looked up and told me that his store pays only $266 for that mattress, and Simmons makes a profit on that. That made it even harder to believe that an upcharge was appropriate.

Now I have been forced to look at the bottom of the line Simmons hoping there will not be an upcharge. We will see. Their warranty reads "repair or replacement" and "no charge except for transportation." Nowhere does it mention upcharges. I am beginning to think this process is just a ploy to either get more money out of you for their failed product, or be so frustrating and time consuming that you just give up. I bet they would put an upcharge on a couple of Simmons mattresses I saw by a dumpster! Plus shipping, delivery, and taxes!

A warranty should either refund, replace, or repair the failed or defective product within the specified time with a like model or better with no cost to the customer. So, don't let Simmons' warranty sell you on their products. They don't last, and they don't have a warranty. YOU ARE THEIR WARRANTY! And unless I get these replacements for free, I will never have another Simmons mattress in my home. I have already purchased Sealy Posturepedic Firm Plush Hybrids for my two sons and my husband and myself because of this ordeal with Simmons that continues from middle of December 2014 until now, end of April 2015. If I get the replacements free, they will be used on guest beds.

After filing a claim and never receiving a call from the people who were suppose to call me about scheduling a time/date for them to come out to check the mattress, I had to call them back! The lady at first tried to make it seem like I didn't give her all the information that they needed. Once she figured all the info was there, she softened up and said she'd notify them again.

3-4 weeks later a man came out to checked out the mattress and took pictures and info down and said, "you can definitely see the sagging". Nothing was wrong with my bed frame or box spring so I figured that Simmons would see that the mattress wasn't sleepable. Well, I was WRONG again. They claimed the mattress was normal and that they weren't going to replace it! So...I'm the one that is axed out. Literally. (A) bad mattress; (B) -$1300+; (C) husband on the couch!

I was told the mattress would always retain its shape... false. After just two weeks the edge I exit on is so broken down I almost fall out of the bed.

Recently I spent two nights at a Hampton Inn and enjoyed a great rest and pain-free morning. I checked to see who the manufacturer of the mattress was, but the tags were gone. I'm very disappointed in this mattress and embarrassed at the amount of money I spent. To make matters worst, I purchased an adjustable base for an additional $1,800. This seemed like a good choice at the store, I loved the "zero gravity" position, but found I couldn't sleep more than an hour in that position. The sales person told me I'd get use to sleeping on my back... false. So, buyers beware. I really don't know what's going to happen now. Their warranty says that an indentation of 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches may be normal. I contacted Simmons about the 2 to 2 1/2 inch indentations in our World Class Mattress. Even though the edge of the mattress was up to 3 inches lower than the center. Incidentally, though I filed the warranty information with Simmons when I bought the mattress, since I couldn't find my copy they simply dismissed the claim outright. So off to the basement and dig through 8 years of paper work to find the original papers. Ok, they couldn't "find" my original filing of the paperwork but when I did, they sent several pages of forms to be filled out.

I filled in several forms with information from the mattress labels. I took pictures of the indentations. I laid an aluminum pole across the center of the mattress and showed pictures of the indentations on each side. They responded by saying they had to have a representative come and look at the mattress. Two weeks later a representative came and basically filled the same forms and took the same pictures that I had taken. He then took out a string with a weight on each end and strung it across the mattress. The string method simply followed the contours of the mattress. So it showed an indentation of about one inch. Simmons has decided that this is normal functioning of the mattress! So I can roll out of bed from the side of the sunken mattress but find difficulty "rolling up" to the center of the mattress.

This problem exists only on one side of the mattress and not on the other. This fact alone tells us that the problem is in the manufacturing and not the filling materials that they excused the problem on and not that the product is defective. THE PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE. I wake up with extreme back pain and cant afford a new expensive mattress. I have to sleep diagonally to avoid the huge center dip in an attempt to save my back. I am 24 years old, I weigh not even 180 lbs, I use my bed for sleeping. I do not jump on the bed, i do not throw myself onto it when getting into bed, i gently scoot into bed. There is no reason it should have this problem. There is no reason their company should make a customer fight so hard to get good customer service. It is truly ridiculous!

There should be a disclaimer or warning about this too well known problem or they should be made to replace defective mattresses without so much trouble and hopes to jump through. I need back strength to work and every nights sleep rips it away and i wake up in more and more pain. Do not buy simmons beautyrest. I am going to contact an attorney if no response. Maybe a class action suit may be better...

I have just begun the complaint process. The store I purchased Beautyrest Black Extra Firm, from, Lotts Furniture, in Fernandina Beach, FL, would not give me a store warranty or 90 satisfaction guarantee. Now I know why. Both husband & I hate the mattress. Doesn't feel like one in store. You can hear the popping off spring. Had it only a month. Wish I kept my 13 year old Stearns and Foster. This Beautyrest of so, so hot you wake up in a sweat. The pad to protect from stains they make you buy is also hot even though it says cool comfort. It is supposed to have extra strong coils, edge protection etc..

Even the other day I had my cleaning people sit and lay on it and they thought it was terrible. I guess I have to prepare for a big fight - am so disappointed in the company and I did so much homework on trying to get the best mattress. I don't even have any of the paperwork from the purchase. I thought they would leave it when they came to deliver but did not.

After having no follow up from my local Sleepy's store (I called, phone was not answered and no message service came on), I once again called the Sleepy's customer service. ** took my call, listened to my frustrations and contacted Simmons for a three way call. Simmons said they had no record on me. No complaint, no return, no letter on file, nothing. After hanging up with them ** asked that I submit more photos of my mattress via email to her and she would show them to her supervisor. At the end of the day the supervisor, ** called and said I would be getting a new mattress set. ** followed up with a phone call to me later that evening to make certain everything had been taken care of. My mattress set was exchanged on 3/23 with no further problems.

My only concern is that I never received any letter stating the outcome of the mattress inspection that I was told had been sent in February. I am not clear if this was from Simmons or Sleepys. There was no paperwork accompanying the exchange. Also no follow up from my local store manager. Even though I am ok with the exchange I would not do business with either Sleepy's or Simmons in the future.

    Original Review: March 17, 2015

The Simmons Beautyrest delivered in 3/2012 began to sag about 6 months ago. After contacting Sleepy's a mattress inspector was sent out in early February. Since I was told I would hear from someone in about two weeks, I visited the Sleepy's in Gaithersburg, Md on March 9th to inquire about the status of the inspection. After the store manager, ** made a phone calI to customer service, he told me the exchange had been approved and I had been sent a letter stating that at the end of February. I never received the letter.

Mr ** arranged for a new mattress set to be delivered as an exchange on Friday, March 13. When the delivery people arrived they replaced the box springs. When they removed the mattress one of the men noted that there was very light stains on the mattress visible when the mattress was on its side. He said he could not take the mattress since that voided the warranty. I asked what a stain had to do with a sagging mattress. I was well aware from consumer complaints that this is a ploy used the majority of the time to not honor the warranty.

After speaking to a Sleepy's manager who in turn spoke to a Simmons manager, I did as directed and sent pictures of the mattress to **. The men returned my old box spring and mattress set and left. During the time they were here I also received a phone call from a Simmons rep who told me they would not exchange the mattress due to the alleged stain.

After they left I contacted Mr. ** and requested a refund for the delivery fee of $148.40 and a copy of the original letter that Simmons or Sleepy's had stated they sent with the approval for the exchange. (at this point it is not clear who initiated the approval). Today I sent an email to the address I was given **, made a phone call to the Sleepy's store in Gaithersburg (no answer), called Sleepy's customer service and conferenced called with Sleepy's and Simmons. Calls to both Sleepy's and Simmons customer service have resulted in dead ends. Today the customer service representative from Simmons stated he had no record of a claim from me and knew nothing about a letter going out. During the three-way conference call with myself, Sleepy's and Simmons nothing was resolved.

I would like to say I am very unsatisfied with the quality of the bed. I got the delivery of the bed along with the Box springs suggested by the Store where I bought (Home elegance, San Leandro, CA) on Jan/30/2014. I was good initially for few months and started sinking in middle, then I added few more wood rails to support the existing frame a box springs but no use. I experienced lack of sleep and then back pain and went to doctors for cure. Later I realized it’s due to bed. The bed started making squeaking noises at the corners and I completely lost sleep in that bed. If I or my wife moves during sleep, I wake up due to those sounds.

I contacted the store where I bought; the previous owner sold it to another. I had problems claiming the warranty then directly I spoke to Simmons customer service. They setup an inspection and inspection guy came in and he also saw and experienced the issues. He said the support and box springs are good. He did his part and sent it to Simmons. The Simmons got back to me saying after assessment my box springs does not provide the proper support for your mattress. The use of a non-supporting box springs can cause damage to the mattress and can void the terms of your warranty. The purchase of a new box springs is highly recommended in your case. This is not fair. Even though having such a expensive bed, I and my wife are sleeping on floor to avoid sleepless nights and save ourself from back pains and health issues.

I already spent a lot of money in buying the bed and lot of money and time towards doctors and sleepless nights. I am not at all happy with the bed and this company. This is kind of fraud. I should have checked this reviews before purchasing it. I FRANKLY SUGGEST, REQUEST, RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND THEIR BEDS. BUY SOMETHING ELSE OR BETTER SLEEP ON FLOOR THAN HAVING HEALTH ISSUES. THIS IS MY REVIEW FROM MY PAINS, INCONVENIENCE, HEALTH ISSUES AND FROM MY HEART. SIMMONS, stop making the beds or make something that stays long and honor your warranties that you provide. Please don’t play with the lives of people.

My husband and I purchased this mattress (Simmons East Lake Queen Plush Eurotop) from Factory Mattress just over a year ago. At first it was fine, but after just a couple of weeks the mattress began to sag significantly on my husband's side. We have a 120-lb difference in weight, and inevitably I started experiencing problems from one shoulder being completely unsupported due to the sagging beside me. I began sleeping top-to-tail with my husband which isn't very convenient. We tried rotating the mattress, but that resulted in the other side becoming sagged too causing even more problems. I started experiencing pains in my ribs and shoulders and had to go to my physician multiple times as well as hospital visits for CT scans.

We requested a replacement mattress with Factory Mattress but the salesperson would only quote us for more expensive mattresses with plush tops despite us repeatedly asking for something less costly with NO plush top as that was where the sagging was with our current one. We never got a new mattress as he just would not help us find a cheaper, non-plush top mattress.

After more visits to the doctor it was eventually discovered that my rib cage had rotated and my ribs were no longer correctly aligned, meaning I would need weeks of physiotherapy and visits to a chiropractor. The physician said he believed it was from me sleeping with inadequate back/shoulder support as I was moving my arms up over my head at night just to stop myself sloping towards the sagged areas. It has been an absolute nightmare and I can't wait to be rid of this mattress. It has ruined the past year of my life as I've not been physically able to do any activities due to the pain and discomfort it has caused, not to mention the amount of money it has cost me in medical bills. DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS.

So we did figured if we purchased one with more coils it would hold out better.

Well, we took delivery this past Sunday 2/15/2014 and it smells so bad we are waking up with headaches and our allergies (especially my husband) can barely function. I called customer service and they are supposed to replace it by Friday. I asked them where are mattress manufactured? He couldn't answer me.... The one we have smells like mold and this concerns me. Purchased a Simmons Beauty Rest from the recharge series. Made this purchase from Mattress One for our vacation home. I wish I would have read these reviews before. We only slept in this bed for 6 months and sides started collapsing, like a layer cake that slid off. Then the impressions started and continued to deepen. I called Simmons. They said it sounded like a manufacture defect and I needed to contact the store where I made the purchase. Mattress One told me to file a claim online with explanation and photos. I did just that, documenting the impressions and the out of shape top with a level and ruler. I never heard back from anyone for weeks so I called them. The claim was denied saying that it was a Foam Incasement Failure and was not covered under warranty.

Looked back on my warranty card and saw nothing like that. So upon dozens of calls to my store, being lied to, told to call regional rep., call Simmons again, no calls back, I have documented all of them and the people I have talked to, I requested an inspection. This was at my cost of $49.99. I was told if the claim was accepted and I got a new mattress that I would have to pay a delivery fee, but in most cases that $49 would be applied to it. I agreed as I knew this mattress had a problem and I am persistent! Over a month had passed since inspection so I called again. I was told that it was denied due to a stain.

Well my husband and I were there with the inspectors, and we saw the final paperwork and nothing like that was marked. They told us that this series has had nothing but problems. Mattress One has tried every tactic to not honor this claim, including delay, no calls back to get us so frustrated that maybe we would give up. Anyway cutting this long story short we were finally accepted for a new mattress. We will get a full refund towards a new one, but I will have to pay the full $80 delivery. So now I will have invested $49.99 + $80. We are choking on this. This mattress is getting more and more expensive at no fault of my our own. Needless to say that I will not pick a Simmons and if I had a choice would not go back to Mattress One. This ordeal lasted over 2 months. I'm pissed! Haven't picked out a new mattress yet, doing my homework.

The bed hurt my back immediately and I contacted Simmons to find out what I could do. I replaced the 4 slats under the box spring with a custom-cut piece of plywood. No success. I contacting my retailer, ABC Mattress, and after many attempts they came and did a bed check conducted by their delivery men. They refused to assist me since unbeknown to me, they are no longer a certified retailer and for good cause.

I filed a complaint with Simmons in October. They sent out Bed Check to measure the sink hole in the middle -- 2 inches. I have been told by Simmons that they will now replace only the mattress (will not match the bedspring:( ). I want my money back so that I can purchase another brand because after reading everyone else's comments here, it is apparent that Simmons today is not what it was 12, 25 years ago when I purchased my previous mattresses. I do not need a firm mattress but one that is not defective from day 1. I am grateful to be able to be promised a replacement but very apprehensive that this is going to happen again.

After being in so much pain, I have been on an Aerobed on the floor until the replacement comes in 3 weeks. They will not allow me to go to a local retailer. I think a class action suit should be filed. Count me in! Next time it's a Sealy for me since they are reinforced in the middle unlike what I purchased. I believe the World Class Recharge Simmons line is reinforced which may help with these ridiculous sagging problems. I'm going to push for an upgrade replacement to see if this extra support in the middle of the bed prevents the sink hole problem from arising again.

Anyway, we just finally gave up and replaced it last month. For an $800+ mattress, it should have lasted a lot longer. We started noticing rutting and other issues within a year, and by this summer it was basically unusable.

I definitely feel like we got taken, because we thought we were buying a high-end mattress, and we ended up with an inferior product. The lack of recognizable models and set prices makes it impossible to tell for sure. Months went by and I started to develop all over pains. Then about 7 months I started having dizziness after waking up.

I saw NUMEROUS doctors and had a ton of test done. Nothing could be found. At that time I changed out my pillows and tested about 8 of them. Still getting the dizziness and pains. Went as far as changing my sheets, comforter etc... Still no change. We also took off the mattress protector and still nothing but aches and pains. I went through 2014 with the random dizziness and no doctors could tell me what was going on.

Then Jan 25, 2015 I woke out of my sleep with severe neck pain. Tried to roll over to the other side and almost passed out. Ended up finally moving to our living room couch and slept in a upright position. Went to see the doc again and they could see nothing wrong in X-rays. I changed my pillow again and added a rolled towel to support my neck. Woke up with some dizziness yet again. I've never had dizziness before in my life or neck problems. Checked the bed and it already has sagging. I'm going to move back to our 2006 Simmons and see if it makes a difference. With as many problems as we have had since getting the bed, we are certain it's the cause of the problems.

In July 2013 my husband and I purchased a Beautyrest black series Simmons mattress, not knowing we would get a defective one. The sales rep told us it was considered the Ferrari of all mattresses, yeah what else?! We believed him. He also said it had an excellent 10 year warranty, yeah ok! We also believed him. Back then I was 5 months pregnant, reason why we got a new mattress in the first place. Long story short... The only times we loved and enjoyed this mattress was during our "trial" at the store and the first week at home. After that we haven't been able to sleep, especially during my pregnancy.

I called the company and they sent a mattress "inspector". I really don't know what kind of inspector he is because the way he "inspected" our mattress wouldn't allow him to know what the issue was. He didn't do anything except look at it and measure it and then left. Obviously due to his amazing inspection we got a letter from Simmons saying there was nothing they could do, our mattress wasn't defective. How could they say that when the "inspector" didn't even touch it or looked at the real problem? I really don't think that by measuring the mattress it will tell him what the defect is.

After that I've been trying to do everything and anything for our "warranty" to be effective and get this extremely huge issue resolved. When I say huge I really mean HUGE, unless someone thinks not being able to sleep and whenever we can get some sleep waking up with back, head and neck pain is acceptable. Maybe if the mattress was free or inexpensive we wouldn't care so much, but IT WASN'T! In fact, we got the "Ferrari" of all mattresses therefore, we paid big bucks for it. Simmons, being the "great" company it is known for and being in business for all these years, we were expecting way MUCH MORE from them.

To make things worst, I now have to get therapeutic massages, get aligned by chiropractors and get Acupuncture sessions all to ease my head, back, and shoulder pain. Even then, I still wake up with pain. It is extremely interesting how all three had the same question, what kind of mattress are you sleeping on? My husband wakes up in a bad mood every morning and claims he is going crazy thanks to this horrible mattress. We are always tired due to the lack of sleep. Even our baby hates our mattress; he won't even take a quick nap on our bed. I don't know what else to do, we are desperate. If someone knows what else we can do please let me know.

After 2 weeks it was terrible, and I asked the store to give me an exchange. The next mattress was also a Simmons, and it is called Recharge. After 6 months, this one is a disaster and is lumpy, sunken in dramatically where I lie, and sinks in horribly on the edge of the bed when I sit on it. When I make my bed, I stand back and look at it, and it looks like there's a sinkhole in it!

I will contact Simmons, but after reading other people's experiences with this situation, I have no hope of a good fix. I paid $600 for something that gives me a backache! I would NEVER recommend a Simmons to anyone. Am going to check out Saatva and chalk this up to a learning experience!

The mattress was purchased on 2/16/14. By 9 months of purchase date, the mattress began to have sagging and my husband and I experienced hip and back pain and restless sleep. The mattress with the tufting does not show the warranty's required 1.5 inches of sagging on a photo that is required. The Simmons representatives response to our request to visit and assess the wear after only 9 months was "this service is not provided". I did take a look on line and found that there are a lot of complaints matching mine. $1000.00 for a mattress that sags after 9 months is defective rather or not a picture shows the sag! Shame on Simmons.

We purchased a very expensive Simmons Beautyrest Quinnville mattress less than 3 years ago. Before the first year was ending, we started to notice that our bed was depressing where we slept. It has gotten so bad now that I cannot sleep on it as it causes severe back pain. The store we purchased our mattress from has since closed therefore we had to file a complaint with Simmons directly. We were advised to send the proof of sale and they would schedule a mattress inspector to come out. After the mattress inspection, we were informed that Simmons would replace our mattress with one of equal or lesser value but only of Simmons brand. We will be replacing with the Comforpedic as it is our best option of their (terrible quality) options. We are hoping to get at least another couple of years out of the new mattress and have resigned ourselves to the fact that we will again have to purchase another mattress much sooner than expected... and it will not be Simmons!

We purchased a Stearns and Foster mattress but found it to be extremely hot. So we traded for a Beautyrest Black Luxury Firm mattress based on the salesman's recommendations and the company's literature on all of the steps they had taken to design a product that draws heat away from the sleeper's body. Unfortunately this mattress is extremely hot. What I realize in hindsight is that when Simmons was talking about all the steps they had taken to eliminate heat, it means that they recognize that their basic design decision, to use lots of memory foam and versions of foam, by its very nature creates a heat problem. Which they claimed to have solved. Not true. I know that the problem is not me. Within the last month I have slept on four hotel mattresses and a guest room mattress at a friends house. Zero heat issues with these other mattresses.

I bought an $800 Simmons Beautyrest mattress that has a memory foam pillowtop. After only 6 months of using the mattress, there is an indentation from my body that does not go back to where it should. Unfortunately, I bought the mattress through an online company that I'd have to pay to ship back to them to inspect the mattress. If it is not within Simmon's warranty claim, they will not send a new one. The shipping is too expensive, so I'm just going to live with it until it is completely unbearable! I had spoken with a local Simmons store owner and he mentioned that ALL MEMORY FOAM PILLOW TOPS break down from sweat if you do not have a waterproof mattress cover. I wish the online store would've told me that. I did have a mattress cover, but not waterproof. I have seen lots of complaints from other Simmon's mattress owners, and I'm wondering if they have memory foam pillow tops as well.

Went to inquire at same place of prior purchase and same guy who sold us the first one was telling us about the 15 year warranty the new ones have. He also reminded me the first one had a 10-year warranty. We checked and it was still under warranty. So I asked to file a warranty claim. The store sent 2 guys to examine the mattress, the claim was filed and about 2 weeks later a 'senior territory manager' from Simmons sent a letter (plain letterhead) denying the claim due to 'Simmons product that is stained or soiled, even if defective.' There was no phone number on the letter and no statement of appeals process. Contacted corporate office in Atlanta and once the representative learned the claim had been denied he said I could only appeal to the store where it was purchased. Called the salesperson and he said there was nothing else he could do. Turns out the claims person is also sales rep for the store. I have requested the claim number, copy of the warranty claim and the original invoice from the store (pending).

In November of this year (2014) I called the store where I bought it from to get warranty service because the mattress is sagging on both sides of the bed. My husband and I are getting backaches. I understood that the mattress has to meet a certain indention before they will honor the warranty. A man came to the house and took all of the measurements and said we would hear from someone soon. I got an email from the store stating our mattress either had stains, had been wet, unsanitary, or had burn holes. My mattress had none of these things!

I called the store to complain and asked for someone else come to our home for a 2nd opinion. Surely the first guy had mistaken us for someone else. She told me that the "Law Labels" had been removed and that voided our warranty PERIOD! And the guy claims to have seen a small stain (which I refute) but made no mention on the depth of the sagging. I wish I had read the reviews before we purchased. My question - What if our mattress was stained, wet, unsanitary with burn holes or worse? Those things do not cause a mattress to sag. I will never purchase a Simmons Mattress or visit the store where I bought it again and I will be sure to read the reviews before I buy anything.

After having a very positive experience with a Simmons Beautyrest mattress back in 2005, my wife and I purchased another Beautyrest mattress at a Banner Mattress store in Murrieta, Ca. This one was supposedly one of their elite mattresses: a Baychester Plush queen size mattress. I normally do not have back pains but within about six months, this mattress no longer had any support and my back started giving me pain regularly after sleeping on it. It collapsed so bad it was similar to one of those cheap "hide-a-bed" mattresses that are basically worthless. I called the store to find out about the 20 year warranty and was told at most, even if approved, they would only try to fix this mattress or replace. And after reading so many negative reviews about Beautyrest, we decided to just get rid of it. Unfortunately, this mattress cost us $1,750 and we ended up only using it for about a year. We recently purchased a "Sleep Number" bed which was a lot more expensive, but so far we really like it and have the impression it won't collapse quickly as the Beautyrest did. We had the Sleep Number installers take away the Beautyrest mattress, along with the box springs that came with it. We would never purchase another Simmons product and will warn as many people as possible in the future about our bad experience with it.

They all canoe and they all contain a host of cancer causing chemicals so it seems senseless to keep doing the same thing over and over. Go to www.mattresseducation.net to learn more. Serta, Simmons and Stearns and Foster - all refuse to sell me a mattress free of fire retardant chemicals even with a physician prescription which is perfectly legal. My daughter had a thyroid tumor removed and my husband chest pain and shortness of breath - both likely caused by these mattresses. Why do they insist of making us uncomfortable and sick? The store I bought it at went out of business so I've had to deal with Simmons directly. It's been about 10 emails and me having to repeatedly send the same information again and again because they say they didn't get it. Every step of the way they try to make it harder to comply so that they don't have to do anything. Well after all the hoops, they are going to replace my mattress. I have to pay $85 and have someone bring it to me and pick up mine. I moved with this mattress so there are some scuff marks on the side. Because of that, they originally said that my replacement mattress would have no warranty and be "as is", then they revised it to say that it will only carry the remaining portion of my original warranty. The only reason I am not giving them 1 star is because they have agreed to replace it (pending receipt of my original tags and a signed offer letter...faxed and mailed). I contacted Value City who sent out a warranty tech. This guy was nice enough, took a bunch of pictures, and then told me not to worry...that this was more than enough to get a replacement mattress. Boy was he wrong. My 5 yr old grandson, who is very sick and being seen at a cancer & blood disorder clinic regularly, dropped his ice cream on the mattress one day when I was changing the sheets & pad to wash them. Since there is a 2 inch chocolate stain on the other side of the bed from the dip and at the foot of the bed my warranty is void & null.

So now I am stuck with a mattress that clearly has a major manufacturer defect that is just getting worse by the week all because there is a 2 inch stain at the foot of the bed! I even called Simmons directly who basically said, sorry for your luck....but you are S.O.L.! The best they could do is send me a copy of my warranty which is no good. So they're getting off with paying only the cost of a stamp. So not only does the product stink but so does the company making it!!! But to top everything, I am totally & perm disabled, living on a very fixed income. I can't even afford to go buy another mattress. Let me begin by saying that for most of my adult life, I have purchased and slept on Sealy Posturepedic mattresses, and never had a problem with one. In the summer of 2008, I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Mattress & box spring set from Macy's, which came with a 10-year warranty. If I had gotten 10 years out of the mattress, I would have happily bought another, however after not even 4 years, the mattress sagged so badly that I couldn't sleep on it anymore. I called Macy's to complain, and they sent out an independent inspector to evaluate the mattress.

Apparently, in order for the mattress to fail, and therefore be eligible for a replacement, there has to be at least 1 1/2" indentation in the mattress; mine was almost 3 inches!! So Macy's sent a replacement 2 weeks later, at no charge to me. The inspector claimed that the box spring was ok, so they didn't replace that. Now, after not even 1 year, this replacement mattress has become as impossible to sleep on as the first Beautyrest they replaced last year. So, another call to Macy's, and again, they are sending out someone to inspect the mattress. I have to wait at least 3 weeks for the next inspection appointment.

In the meantime, I have to sleep on the floor because my bed causes me to wake up every morning in agony. So, I hope they replace it again, although I really do not want another Simmons product. Also want to mention here that my mattresses did not have any stains; I've read many horror stories on this site about people whose mattresses fail but they are not covered under warranty because of staining, and that Simmons is adamant about this. This only leads me to suspect that when they remove a mattress from someone's home after replacement, are they re-furbishing these mattresses and re-selling them, representing to the public that they are new? Makes you wonder... Good luck to everyone out there who is losing sleep like I am, who thought Simmons makes a quality product... They do not!! Buyer beware!

I purchased this mattress about a year and half ago and paid about $1500 for it. I noticed right away it is much softer than in the store. I decided to give it a try. With time, it has gotten to where there is no support. The middle sinks in. Where ever you sit or lay sinks down several inches. It's like you are sitting in a hole. I plan on putting in a complaint for a defect. Can anyone who went through he process give any advice? What do they check for? What should I be looking for? Has anyone had success in getting a new mattress or refunded? There is no way this bed has the same consistence as the model and the materials to make it are questionable. My email is ** for any advice in how to pursue this. Thank you.

I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest about 5 years ago. And when the mattress was around 3 years old, I started noticing an indentation. Keep in mind I am 111 pounds. As a result, I decided to rotate the mattress so I could sleep on the other side. Now the other side has a hole, dip and I wake up with an aching back. Because I can't afford a new mattress, I've resorted to purchasing a foam topper but this didn't help with the hole so I put a pillow in between the mattress and box spring. I'm just so disappointed with the quality of this mattress. I will never purchase a Simmons product again.

I have had my Simmons pillow-top mattress for just over 3 years. I started to notice a dent in the middle of the bed after about 2 years, but thought it would get no worse. Well, a year later and the dent is "the worse the inspector has ever seen" and I wake up with a stiff neck everyday. I went to Ashley Furniture where I bought the bed and they had my purchase on file in their computer system, never asking if I had removed the tags. We had to waste everyone's time by having an inspector come out and spend a half hour taking pictures of the mattress from every angle (knowing full well when he saw the tags removed that I was out of luck.) I was feeling confident that I would be able to get a new mattress UNTIL I got the call the next day..... I had cut the huge annoying TAGS off the bottom of the mattress! I explained that the tags said they could be removed by the consumer, to which the rep replied, "But did you keep them? Without them, the warranty is invalidated and there is nothing we can do." Lesson learned -- KEEP THE TAGS ON YOUR BED!

I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Cole Valley Euro top mattress May 2013, from Carson's. It was delivered on May 14th, 2013. It is like new except for the HUGE BULGE RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THE MATTRESS. Not in the center, where they claim there is a two inch drop, where I don't sleep and have never slept. I am the only one who has ever slept on this mattress, and I sleep on one side. It is without a doubt a FACTORY DEFECT, and have been told so by several who have looked at it, who actually know what they are talking about.

My mattress came with a '25 year warranty'. For what? Exactly what does the warranty cover? It's not even a year old. My previous mattress I bought in 1998, and I, like others, back hurt, and assumed it was my mattress. I found out it's a misalignment in my spine. And since I still have my other mattress, and it is still in exceptional shape, I will probably switch back to it. I was also talked into buying an $80.00 mattress pad, because my warranty would be void if one stain got on it. What the hell does a stain have to do with it? I don't have any on mine, like I said its like new, but I have read other complaints and that seems ridiculous.

My claim was denied because they said there was a 2-inch drop, I have four slats instead of five, and I don't have a center support, that are solid wood at least a inch thick. So here goes Simmons: It has a 2 inch drop because there is a 2 inch bundle of foam on the edge!! My other mattress is a double pillow top (purchased at J.C. Penney), that weighs twice as much. My box springs from same set has no sag, and is fine according to the person who came out. My frame is fine according to the person who came out. What is my warranty for?? It was measured from the foam hump to the other side, of course there's a drop.

Carson's just screwed themselves out of more money because I was hoping to purchase a better mattress knowing there would be a depreciation value. I just got off the phone with a Carson's 'supposed' supervisor, who was so rude and demeaning that I now am contacting Bon Ton headquarters to file a complaint on her.

We bought a Simmons Beautyrest Warrenton Pillowtop with the help of Mattress Firm and after a couple of months it was not satisfactory. We got a replacement courtesy of Mattress Firm and found the mattress to have the same defect. Now we had waited too long but were offered a chance to make a warranty claim, which we did. They sent an adjusting company out at our expense to determine if we had a claim and the result of that inspection was an outright denial. The basis for that denial was that the measurements with no load did not satisfy the 1 and 1/2 inch requirement of that warranty guideline established by Simmons. The adjuster pressed down on the mattress cover and released the scale he used and recorded the result. These results were 1 and 1/4 inch according to his measurement. This is with his measure where a string is passed across the mattress with weight on either end for a "taut" base line.

I was naive enough not to measure the scale or the impression of the string for their accuracy and probably should have known better. Nevertheless here we are with a mattress which my wife cannot stand to sleep on and that will not adequately support us. A call to Simmons customer service was to no avail and in fact left a very bad taste in my mouth. The Simmons representative was downright nasty. We were told by Mattress Firm that they would consider additional evidence should we submit it, as this mattress is sold with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. I intend to make that submission, as I fully expect that this mattress will in fact fail and meet their requirements.

The time involved and having to sleep on the uncomfortable defective product in order for it to meet their requirements may not be worth the aggravation. As they have set the requirements I see no other course at this time and feel that litigation is not a viable option for a mattress. Having a forum to air these concerns is invaluable and sleeping apart from my spouse is a horrible cost to bear. I would think the adverse publicity on their "American made" products would result in an immediate cost to the Simmons Corporation and after dealing through Mattress Firm would hope they reconsider their sales of such products which are not something they can be proud of selling. I doubt that I would ever purchase another mattress with the Beautyrest or Simmons name. . .

My husband and I went to Furnitureland in June of 2013 to buy a new bed. With the help of the sales person we went with the Simmons Beautyrest due to the comfort, because I have back problems, and the 20-year warranty & we purchased the mattress cover to ensure protection. In 3 months it started to sag on my side. We made a call and the person said it's supposed to "cradle you". Well two months later it's now a "hole" and is hard get in and out of. Bed-check came to check it and the guy said it was obvious before he even took measurements. Then our claim was denied. They said we had a stain on the mattress which is yet to be seen by any of us... and they passed the buck to the mattress cover people... There is no stain on my mattress... period. Even if there was, which there's not, the mattress is still very much defective. So here we are 3 months later still getting the "runaround" on the mattress. I go to bed in pain and I wake up in pain... All we want is a replacement, and no one will talk to us.

Okay in 2011 we bought a Simmons Beauty Rest Mattress from Ashley Furniture Store in Amherst, NY. We noticed the mattress was sagging and started bothering my back. I called Ashley and they sent out a tech who took pictures back to Ashley. This was problem number one. The guy sent pics over and claimed the mattress was soiled and shouldn't be replaced. We asked Ashley to send us pics and they did and we were astonished. These weren't pictures of our mattress which was soiled free and not a stain on them.

Well I took pics and sent them to Ashley and they agreed to send over another tech and he agreed the mattress WASN'T stained nor any stains on the mattress and wondered WHAT the first tech took pictures of. So Ashley called and said they refused to take back the mattress because a tag was missing - A tag that we were NEVER told to remove when we bought this mattress. Now for the third issue. We contacted Simmons and they claimed a rep would contact us and after two months we STILL haven't heard from them. I'm done with Ashley and I will NOT buy another Simmons Mattress EVER. Buyer Beware IF you’re looking for a Simmons Mattress from Ashley, keep looking. DON'T WASTE your time with either company or you WILL be sorry.

Purchased a Simmons Eastern King Beautyrest Constance Eurotop in September 2011 from Ashley Furniture. After approximately a year we noticed a divot on the sleeping surface. We didn't think much of it, figured it was cosmetic as the mattress was still comfortable. About eight months those thoughts started to change. Now there is almost a 2-inch depression making sleep painful. I contacted Ashley's in November 2013, they no longer carry Simmons and referred me to the Simmons Warranty Center. I filed a claim and a couple weeks later, a third party inspection company came to view the complaint.

The tech confirmed the depression was just over 1 3/4 inches and anything greater than 1 1/2 was warrantable. He mentioned that they may have a concern with the water stain at the foot of the mattress. Since it was more than 3 feet from the failure he said it should not present a problem with the warranty, unfortunately it did. I received an email stating that although the depression was a warrantable concern due to the water stain the warranty is void and the claim closed.

I thought it over a couple days and just couldn't justify their decision. I phoned the warranty center and tried to explain to them that the water stain was not in the area of failure. Even if the stain was in the failure area I said, it surely wouldn't cause an internal structural failure. She held firm and reiterated that ANY stain, Even the size of a dime is a void in coverage. I explained that this must be the reason the fabric isn't stain resistant and a plain water spill leaves a discolored outline. She did offer to send my concern to a supervisor. About a week later I received the email letter below:

"Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you. After reviewing your warranty claim, we will offer an AS-IS replacement of your MATTRESS ONLY. YOUR REPLACEMENT PRODUCT WILL BE STAMPED AS-IS AND CARRY NO WARRANTY DUE TO STAINS ON YOUR CURRENT MATTRESS. There are no manufacturing concerns with your boxspring/foundation(s). We are unable to pickup used product; therefore, you will have to dispose of the product.

According to our records, your current mattress is the Eastern King Beautyrest Constance Eurotop (M13919.7758). We will be replacing it with the Eastern King Beautyrest Recharge Arianna Plush (M45815.7904), from our current product line. Due to the design changes, your product may contain latex or memory foam. As the manufacturer, Simmons does not offer comfort exchanges.

This offer is valid for 15 days from the date of this letter. Simmons cannot guarantee that the fabric of the replacement piece will match that of the original purchase. Firmness of the replacement product may vary slightly because construction specifications do change over time. A delivery company will contact you to schedule an appointment once they have received the product from the local manufacturing facility. Please thoroughly inspect the bedding BEFORE signing for delivery. Your signature on the shipping documents signifies that you are accepting receipt of the merchandise in good condition. In the unlikely event of damage, please refuse the shipment, note the damage on the shipping documents, and contact us immediately.

Your order WILL NOT be released for delivery until all items listed below are received by Simmons (address provided at the bottom of this letter). In order to process your claim more quickly, you may fax a copy of this letter along with all items (satin label, medallion, law tags, etc.), and credit card information (if applicable) to 770-613-8575. If faxing the required documentation, we must receive the original items BEFORE we will ship the product. DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE PRODUCT UNTIL YOU CAN VERIFY THE ITEMS BELOW ARE RECEIVED BY OUR OFFICE. We recommend FedEx, UPS, certified or registered mail. The address is at the bottom of this letter.

REQUIRED ITEMS TO RELEASE SHIPMENT: * ORIGINAL Satin label from mattress (3x7" label from side or 6x9" from top surface). * ORIGINAL Oval medallion from mattress foot/side panel. * ORIGINAL White "Under Penalty of Law" tag from mattress.* ENTIRE offer letter, signed below (signature required for ALL offers). * Phone number for delivery **"

So for an $85 delivery charge and zero warranty, it appears we will get some pain free rest for awhile.

I had bought my last mattress in 2006 and it broke down where my husband laid and also where I lay. Josh assured me that this mattress would not do that and I was convinced, but it didn't take me long to see the indentation showed up. I would turn the mattress once a month trying to prevent this "valley" where our bodies laid, but to no avail. It is sad that mattresses cannot be flipped anymore.

I'm having severe back problems now and my Dr. said it is coming from my mattress. I would like to hear from you and what kind of warranty you stand behind as would like to get this corrected? I bought a Simmons Recharge King Size from Ortho Mattress in Santa Monica, CA just under 6 months ago. In a matter of about 12 weeks, a significant 'indentation' occurred in about a 4 foot wide area where I typically sleep. A service manager from Integrated Bedding Group came out on 12/23 to measure the indentation, which he found to be 1.5 inches at 'rest'. He put a tape across the width of the bed. This does not fully reveal how the mattress collapses from my weight (210). Note: I've been sleeping alone of late.

I've been waking up with a backache every morning for not less than three (3) months. Upon laying down, the bed collapses in what could be described as a hammock effect. I try to sleep away the bed's center. I contacted Simmons in Atlanta to complain, and they referred me to Ortho, which earlier had sold me one of their own branded beds, which indented radically after about 6 weeks. I traded up to Simmons to a firm mattress, paying the difference. As this site shows, info about Simmons bed indentation issues are known. And Ortho sold me this mattress anyway. Get this - I know the Ortho CEO. Our kids went to the same preschool in Santa Monica Canyon. I've been to his house...

Simmons 'Limited Warranty' states that 1.5 inches is a 'Normal Body Impression'. Bull... That 1.5 figure does not address what happens to the bed upon laying on it. The Simmons Warranty is questionable. I'm a Creative Director and marketing director. Based on my experience, I'm sensing that I'll be going public on this via social media, news organizations, consumer protection entities, etc. I am beside myself angry. This will be a mission in life.

In October 2012, I bought a Beautyrest Noelle Plush Firm mattress from Back to Bed in La Grange, IL. BIG MISTAKE. Back to Bed had denied me my money back after a supposedly "free trial" of a Tempur-Pedic mattress and told me I had to select another mattress from the store. So I picked the Beautyrest because it seemed to be the best option and was close to the same price (but $300 more than the Tempur-Pedic). The display model felt comfortable in the store, but the one they delivered has been extremely uncomfortable from day 1. Of course they told me it needed to be "broken in" so I waited to break it in but instead of getting more comfortable over time, it has gotten worse and worse.

Now, a year later, it is in worse shape than the old worn-out mattress I got rid of. It is lumpy all over and the coils stick up and put pressure on my back and limbs. In addition, the mattress has a ridge all the way around it which takes away 4 inches of usable space on all sides and makes the mattress too small even for a 5-foot tall person. I thought I could eliminate the ridge with a mattress pad but that doesn't work. The mattress is so high no sheets will fit it properly and extremely heavy and unwieldy as well, so it is almost impossible to make up the bed. I hate everything about this mattress and everything about the criminally dishonest store where I got it.

My Dad insisted on going back to Carson's, and bought another Beautyrest. This mattress arrived and was at least an inch and a half higher on one side, awful! Carson's would not automatically take it back. We had to wait for an inspector again. This time Sean was busy, and another good inspector contacted us, measured for the issues, and YES, the new mattress was deemed in fact defective. Carson's only wanted to replace the top, whereas the box spring was warped as well, the wood inside was warped - bowing. Thank God Carson's took it back, and we will never buy another Beautyrest mattress, nor another Mattress from Carson's. I do not know if all of the stores are like this, but now I am afraid to try a Stearns & Foster from Macy's, if someone else got a bad Stearns & Foster.

And then the manufacturer requires you pay an intermediary to "evaluate" the mattress-- anyone can see the canyon in the middle of the bed, fee of $50 and then a delivery fee on top of that... for a product that was defective. This is not an unusual story, as there are frequent complaints on sagging.

Below is the response to a warranty claim for my Simmons/Beautyrest Mattress. The test they ask you to do is a total sham, pic attached. Extend a board across the top of the mattress then gently place a measuring tape downward to measure the impression depth. Anything less than 1.5" is a pass. Of course when you put an average size male 185 # or female 130# on mattress, it completely hammocks out in the primary sleeping areas. Oh and they do the test with pictures as to not waste any time sending someone out to deny your claim. Buyer Be Aware. They DO NOT stand behind their product. It's amazing they spend all kinds of marketing dollars to explain how they test the product and this is the test for pass/fail on warranty.

Per the terms and conditions of Simmons limited warranty, we are unable to provide service on your product due to stains or soilage. Therefore, we must deny warranty coverage. What we got back was a form letter denying our claim, they didn't even send out a Rep to look at it. We thought of suing in small claims court, but the store was not in the same county, so if there is a class action suit out there, I'm in. After numerous inquiries to the store, Sleep City finally told me Simmons had denied the warranty claim because it hadn't sagged enough - had to be 1-1/2" and mine was only 3/4". I am first sadden to see myself and others of you on here for your horrible experience with Simmons. My first point I will like to say is that in 2005 I was informed by my physical therapist to purchase a good quality mattress and one that was firm. I went to BACK TO BED and the experience was awesome and so I got two queen size MILLER (discontinued) mattresses with box springs and frames for less than $1,000! It is now September 2013 and I still have those mattresses and they are still firm as ever.

Fast Forward to 2010 - I invested in a condo in Scottsdale, AZ and I decided since I was moving a lot of stuff from the burbs of Chicago, I would have BACK TO BED just place the mattresses on the PENSKE truck for me. Once again, I got an amazing deal from the same manager I purchased my first mattresses. My purchase included a Haynes (new firmest mattresses at that time) King, Queen, and twin mattresses with frames and the whole package. Now I got my mattresses set-up by Jan 2010 and the Queen and Twin were awesome, truly amazing to my surprise and even more firm than the Miller I had back in Chicago. Now for the KING, well we got a fancy sort of frame for that one where the mattress seems like it is sunk in but we used the SIMMONS box spring since I needed the support. When I got on the mattress for the first time that spring (March), I thought to myself there has got to be something wrong with the frame. I checked over everything and the box springs but I thought to myself maybe it needs to be broken in or something.

In 2012, I was blessed with my first child and my wife and I decided to move to Arizona for good and after sleeping on the mattress for 90 days or less my back was aching. I ended up sleeping with my wife in our guest room where the Simmons Queen mattress was and it was like night and day. Well in 2013, I couldn't take it so I decided to contact Simmons and let me tell you WHAT A JOKE IT WAS WITH THE THIRD PARTY!!! I am a mechanical engineer and I can tell you a string isn't the way to test the spring rate or comfort of a mattress. I was ready to drive to Simmons headquarters myself and give the CEO a piece of my mind!!!! I am still pursuing this because I can't believe how this company does their customer service. My point to all of this is that I believe their quality has gone down since the economy in this country has tanked in 2009 until present. This doesn't probably make anyone happy. I have been calling their Georgia location 877-399-9397 and trying to get at least 50% off a mattress thru them for this so I will let you know in a few months if I win this case.

In July 2012, $2,500 was given to McGregor furniture store in Mason City, Iowa to purchase a Simmons Kaily Plush Firm droptop KING size mattress. By August of 2013, the foam on the side of the mattress and the coils on the mattress became non-resilient. The side of the bed fell so badly an adult had difficulty getting in and out of bed, and the coils depressed so badly it felt like you were sleeping in a trough.

The Simmons representative put a string across the bed and said since there was not 1-1/2 inches sag in the bed, Simmons would do nothing. The problem doesn't occur until someone SITS on the bed. McGregor's refused to do anything, saying it was an issue with Simmons. My elderly parents are now out a significant amount of money for the mattress they shopped carefully for, and the people who took their money really don't seem to care. What a sad state of greed in America today.

Right now! Pre-complaint, I am going to contact Simmons regarding a king size mattress set that we purchased the end of December 2010, only three years old. Been wanting to contact them since last year when it started being more noticeable, but I know they want to see certain measurement over 1 1/2 inches deep. This is Simmons King Size Kamilah that we paid high dollars for it. I'll let you all know how all this go soon.

We gave this bed a 45 day trial and will be returning it. I will never by a Simmons bed again. I had a Beautyrest & it started to sink after only a few months making it very uncomfortable. I hesitated in buying another Simmons but thought perhaps I wouldn't have the same problem with one of their memory foam beds, was I ever wrong! It feels nothing like what I tried in the showroom. I'm amazed they have the nerve to call this memory foam! It's more like sleeping on a thin waterbed with a pile of bricks underneath it.

It offers very little support & does NOT form to the contours of your body like it claims it does! When my husband comes to bed, my side becomes very stiff & even more uncomfortable (not sure how, seeing as it is supposedly a "memory foam" mattress!). He sleeps on the couch the majority of the time because of the problem & I still wake up with an aching back 4 out of 7 nights of the week! My recommendation is to STAY AWAY FROM SIMMONS MATTRESSES! ALL OF THEM!

I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Mackenzie super plush pillow top mattress in October 2012. In a matter of a few months (less than 6), it developed a hole in the area where I slept. An independent contractor informed me that the foam was defective and my mattress was replaced with a new one (same model) in late June 2013. In just a couple of months, a hole has again started to form and I wake up daily at 3:00 am with severe back pain. I cannot sleep well and I am not resting. This mattress has no support whatsoever. I paid over $1500 for it and it was sold to me as a top quality product when it is actually a very poor quality item. I am very disappointed because in the past, Simmons was the best mattress in the market. Not anymore. Now I have filed a second complaint but do not wish the same mattress. I wish for a full refund because I have lost my faith in the Simmons brand and because I need new mattress asap (I'd like to get a good night's sleep someday).

We purchased a plush pillow top mattress five years ago and got the added support recommended by the company. We recently took the mattress and low level box spring off the bed because the top and bottom were about 6 inches higher than the center of the mattress. It was like sleeping on a banana. When we stood the mattress on its side, it completely collapsed. The box spring was bowed as well, notwithstanding the added support. We were told that they would replace it with a "comparable" mattress or we could pay for an upgrade. The new mattress will only have the remaining warranty from the old mattress.

Bought a King Simmons pillow top mattress 4 years ago and paid over $2000 for it. Have not slept on it for a while now because I feel like I'm sleeping in a hammock. Both sides of this pillow top mattress have collapsed and the indents are so bad I told my husband he looks like he is in a coffin. We have had an inspector out twice and have been denied both times any form of warranty from the Simmons Company. DO NOT BUY one of these mattresses. They are the WORST ones I have ever seen and the company does not stand behind their product.

I have been experiencing similar problems with an expensive Beautyrest Black King-sized mattress and a large depression where I sleep. FYI: EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING THESE ISSUES, PLEASE LEAVE COMPLAINTS WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (BBB) on the page for Simmons Bedding Co!! They actually care about their rating there and write responses to try to salvage it. But if there are enough complaints then it won't matter.

We purchased a top of the line Beautyrest mattress in late 2010. After little over a year, it began to sag in the middle. We called and they sent someone to inspect the bed. After just over 2 years, it sags 1 1/4 inches. If it was 1 1/2, they would replace it. I stated that after 2 years it is that bad and has another 8 years left, how bad will it get. They said that was normal sagging for a 2-year old mattress. We both sleep terrible and after paying for top-of-the-line, this is horrible and after researching the warranty practices it seems to be the norm. Never again!

I am a TV PRODUCER. Send me your stories at **. Put yourself on video... Show me your mattress. Show me your paperwork. If you are set up for an "INSPECTION", place a camera in the room to get the inspector on record... We waited about 6 months for the Rep to finally show up at our house to look at it, only to tell us that they do, that there is nothing we can do? Why is there nothing we can do? We paid good money for JUNK!!!!!!!!! So if you are wise, you will NEVER buy a pillow top mattress. This is the second one we bought & it happened again.

So now, I get a medium-end Beautyrest, paid more money for it, and it still folds in the middle. Now, this is 3 beds in about 3 or 4 weeks and they all do the same thing no matter how much you pay for them. Now, I would like to go to the media about these beds, but don't know how. How do these people stay in business?

My son purchased a Simmons Edmore Plush Queen set. He paid $799.00 for it and was told it was a quality set with a 10-year warranty. Within 3 months, it started to cave in the middle. He moved from Florida to North Carolina. He left the bed at my house and left the state again. The bed was 5 months old and continued to cave, with no one sleeping in it.

Simmons sent a couple out to inspect the bed. The claim was denied because the center bracket was not attached to the frame when he moved from FL to NC. (The bed was dropped off; no one was sleeping in it.) However, it was attached originally when the bed was first purchased and it was caving then. They offered to sell me another mattress for $429.00 plus shipping. That makes the cost of a less than year old bed $1,228.00. I found this site, and see that people agreed to the terms, bought another bed, changed the frame, and the same thing happened!

I have ALWAYS bought Simmons Beautyrest mattresses since 1974! I still have a queen that was our MB bed since 1980 and is praised as the "most comfortable" bed my guests have slept on "in years!" as our guest room bed. Unfortunately, they don't make them like they used to!!!! We bought our first $2500 Black Label comfort firm mattress in 2009, only to be in so much pain sleeping in "holes" after a year. Unfortunately, it took two years of sleepless nights, and back pain, to get someone to admit that it was defective.

Jordan's Furniture told us we could "pick out a new one" which was now $1000 more for a comparable King. After 6 mos, it developed the same huge "holes" which now, after 3 years, we are still trying to get them to declare it defective! Writhing in pain all night long, and yet, unless you figure out how to "suck the air" out of the top gauzy layer, you can' tell that there is more than the visible 1" depression (which really is about a 2" depression), which doesn't show up when they place a "string" across the diagonal of the mattress! A STRING! The real support under the top fabric that is always "tufted" to keep it puffed up is really non-existent and a depression which is obviously deeper than the required 1.5" needed for return. But if they take long enough to declare it defective, the "money back" gets less and less!

Why don't they just make mattresses the way they used to, and stand behind them?!! Having a 10-year warranty that only requires you to buy another one which costs more money is like a pyramid scheme that just keeps escalating! I slept on our boat's 4" mattress this weekend and had no pain compared to the sleepless and painful experience I had upon returning last night! I think it is time for me to order a Temperflow, or some other foam mattress that doesn't have non-disclosure as its mantra! You cannot figure out what the heck is in all of these models anymore unless you cut it open! I will NEVER buy another Simmons Beautyrest ever again!!

We bought a Viola Simmons Beautyrest Black mattress in 2007. The mattress had a "10-year warranty". This year, we noticed that one side of the mattress is bowing out. We had an inspection, and the person said it is due to insufficient support in the center of the mattress. We have a queen size bed, and the mattress is supported by four slats and a box spring. When they delivered the mattress, they did not tell us that the support was insufficient. They said that we need support in the center of the mattress. I think this is ridiculous and am upset. I will never buy a Beautyrest again.

In 2002, we purchased a Simmons Euro Plush mattress from Elder-Beerman in Elkhart, IN. Within 2 years, this mattress started developing impressions or "holes" on both sides of the mattress. A technician was sent out and concurred the mattress was defective. It was replaced and within 2 years, the replacement mattress did the same thing. After a lot of consternation and "measuring", etc., we had the mattress replaced again and shortly after that incurred the same problem and paid a $400 upgrade to one of the highest lines of Simmons product and now, lo and behold, we are once again experiencing the same thing. I have requested our money back and now I am supposed to wait on a technician Elder-Beerman is sending to try to get resolution.

My problem is we do not want a Simmons... They are junk. And the last time, Elder-Beerman substituted an ugly mattress (pillow-top) that did not look to be of the same quality. Simmons changes the names of their mattresses like I change my underwear so you never know what you are getting. I am interested in joining a class action suit or may pursue my own case in civil court because this is utterly amazing. Simmons doesn't respond to queries and only says to contact the retailer.

We purchased a mattress, a Simmons Beauty Rest (Dearborn style) and were dissatisfied with it within a month of the purchase due to indentations in the memory foam top that would not go away and became worse after the second month. Also, during installation, they actually ripped the material from the foundation. We phoned Art Van, and they sent a tech out to measure the indentations and said they had to be 1 1/2 inches deep to qualify for warranty exchange. We waited another month and decided to have another tech come out and look at the mattress. He gave us the ok to have the mattress replaced, also noting the tear in the foundation. We were then left to wait for a rep to get in touch with us, thinking Simmons would call.

Art Van phoned instead, offering us $600 for a set that was brand new and had just cost us a little over $1,200. They also told us we would have to keep the foundation. Here's the catch, per the warranty, we have to have the foundation that goes with the mattress in order to make it good. We will not buy the same mattress due to too many consumer complaints. Almost every company says "our foundation" or no warranty. Also, the industry standard states that the indentions may be 0.75 up to 1 1/2 inches before warranty kicks in. Why? Who made the industry standard that way? Try sleeping on a mattress that has permanent indentions of even 0.50 and you will notice. There should be no indentions. I have a Peerless Brand Mattress that is 35 years old and it does not have any. I would like a full refund from Simmons, and I would like to hear from them. I believe Art Van is being given the full warranty price on our mattress; I don't believe they are being upfront with us about that. We just want another mattress, and we want our money back so that we can buy one, a good one.
