February 2016, I was at a complete stop in my car when someone from behind decided not to stop slamming into the back of me at more than 50 mph. Needless to say my back was done; Twelve weeks of physical therapy. My mattress at that was contributing to my pain so I purchased a king Serta Perfect Sleeper pillowtop mattress in October 2016. I felt tons of back pressure relief just sitting on the mattress, laying on it was even better while in the store. I was in love with this mattress once it arrived.

However Within 4 months of having it, the right side began to sink. I called the store and was told to take the mattress off the boxspring and measure to see if the indentation was at least 2 inches (the only way that they would even consider taking it back) and to inspect the mattress for stains. If there was the tiniest stain, they would not take it back. This completely blew my mind; with these prestanding guidelines, to me, means that Serta is aware of problem but continues to sell these defective mattresses. I am 5’4 165lb. I have not had a full night of sleep, without being awoken for more than 9 months due to huge sinkhole in the right, middle portion of the bed. I go to sleep laying vertical and am awaken by severe back pain because the bottom half of me is in the sinkhole, the top half of me in its original state; I am now almost completely horizontal.

There are no words to describe the disappointment and anger felt knowing that I spent my hard earned money for this mattress and am stuck with this junk. I paid for a product that is no good money for my back comfort. Again, Serta knows there are problems with their mattresses, selling them, and refusing to make the situation right, or refund money. I do not remember seeing a disclaimer, explaining return guidelines. I only learned of them after I had a problem. Serta should definitely be ashamed of their products. Too many people are having similar issues for this to be a hoax.

In 2015 we bought a New Edgarton memory FIRM Mattress. Within a year it had sank 2 inches in parts of the bed, so I would sleep at one end and my husband would sleep at the other. I finally found my receipt (dog took it out of my billfold along with cash and hid it under the bed) so I called them, I had to pay 35.00 for a inspector who was shocked how bad it was, the coils had flipped over. Since they no longer made that type of Mattress (wonder why?) they would send us a replacement that was just or better than the one we had. This took over a year to send them pictures, a release form, which I thought I was getting a good mattress, well it was finally delivered today. I also had to pay 114.00 delivery fee, they would not let us pick it up.

They sent us the crappiest Mattress you have ever seen, no memory form. It was only 8in tall instead of 10 like our old one, the stitching was horrible, if you lay on your side and relax you automatically roll into the middle of the bed, If you sit on the side it goes down to 5 inches in height, you basically have to roll to get out of the bed. I called Serta twice. They were no help, they said, "Well you signed the paper." I signed a paper that stated I would get a mattress that was of equal quality or better, these Holdsworth Firm Mattress they gave us, they put in RVs it was the lowest quality there could be. I have called Serta twice, and I am going to make a BBB complaint, I expect to have to buy a new mattress within the next 2 months, that is how bad the quality is. If you are looking for a mattress and it is made by Serta! RUN as fast you can to a better quality bed instead of throwing your money away.

I ordered an iComfort mattress from Serta Direct online. I called after placing the order to see how long it would take for delivery as I was moving from WA to CA. I was told the mattress would be ready in 11-14 days and be shipped to a delivery company and then they would delivery to my new home. I placed my order on 9/13/17 and it is now 10/27/17 and I still do not have my mattress. I have called Serta numerous times and have not received any help. The manager Mike, was supposed to call me back twice and I never heard from him. I just received a call from the delivery company and they are telling me the first available date is 11/14/17 which will be two months from the date I originally ordered the mattress. Serta has been absolutely no help and everyone I spoke to didn't seem to care at all. I will never again order anything from Serta and I will tell my family and friends what horrible customer service they have.

I purchased a new Serta iSeries Merit Pillowtop Mattress in 2/15. By 10/17 it is shot. The side is broken down and the top cover is twisted over to the side. It has valleys and deep depressions in it. I called Serta about the fantastic warranty, only To find out it's bull. They said I have to fill out an inspection request form and mail it back to them with a $35 check. Before I invest another nickel with this company I decided to do some online investigating about the inspection process, only to find it's a scam and that if the slightest stain is found they won't honor the warranty. So I decided to throw it away, keep my $35 and put it towards a new mattress from another company. I will never buy anything from this company!

We are a locally owned mattress company in the Pensacola area. Today we carry all major brands and pride ourselves in maintaining honest relationships with our customers as well as with our vendors. With that said we would like to bring to light some disturbing behavior we have experienced with Serta in regard to its dealings with small business owners. In April of 2015 my husband and I approached Serta about opening a store. My husband has been in the industry for over 12 years so we understood the importance of establishing well known vendors from the beginning. Serta was more than eager to assist us. They helped us find our location and sold us $10,000 worth of merchandise for our floor. Having backing from this major company gave us the confidence to move forward with securing a lease and investing our life savings into opening our family business.

However, once the merchandise arrived and we had arranged it on our floor, we received a call from Serta stating that a large mattress chain in the area was upset about us opening and Serta decided to change their distribution. They informed us they would be refunding our money and sending a truck to pick up our mattresses!!! This could have ruined our business as well as our family and many people in the community encouraged us to take legal action. However, we decided instead to pour our energy into making our company work despite this setback. By the grace of God, our business not only survived, but thrived. Interestingly, about 6 months ago Serta approached us about possibly carrying their products again. My initial response was NO, Never Again!

However, my husband who had previously sold Serta for so many years convinced me to sit down and listen to what they were proposing. This time it was a different representative who appeared to be an honest Christian woman. She gave us her word that this would never happen again and that if it did she would fight for us. Reluctantly, I agreed and once again we purchased thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Serta. Over the following six months everything appeared to be running smoothly. We sold their products and paid them early every single time. Strangely, three weeks ago my husband received a phone call from our Serta representative informing us that she was very upset that we had purchased merchandise from Tempurpedic and would have to report us to her boss!!!

My husband was quite surprised and informed her that we had never discussed or signed anything stating we wouldn't carry additional merchandise from other vendors. In fact, all the other stores within our franchise carry all the major brands as well so we could not understand the issue. Needless to say, yesterday we received a phone call from Serta stating that they would be closing our account in 30 days due to distribution changes. Our purpose in writing this review is not only to let the community know how little Serta thinks of small locally owned businesses, but also to caution other business owners when dealing with this company. BUYER BEWARE!

This is the worst mattress you can ever buy. I actually sell mattresses and furniture for a living and had heard all these great things about this mattress. I couldn't afford full retail so I bought a Sam's membership to buy iComfort. I had to rent a truck to go pick it up (over an hour away) got it home and as soon as I went to put it in position the handle ripped. Then I was noticing a huge amount of material with no support... Checked the other side of my king bed and the foam had collapsed on the side with a huge side lump. I called Serta about this. (so you'd think ok warranty it's defective) They said I had to contact Sam's. So I called Sam's.

They said I had to bring it back to them. (So because it's defective I have to pay another 100.00 to drive this thing back and take a day off work) Serta should have followed the warranty and sent someone out to look at the mattress and replace. I do not and will not recommend any of my customers to buy this mattress or even Serta for that matter. 1,200 for a mattress to not last a month is a problem. I actually went to their sales corporate rep for Serta and his answer was "well it happens."

Although I do have to wonder if Serta has even considered who they actually didn't support. Considering in 2 months time I have sold 300K in mattresses alone and yes I speak to every customer. Not a good idea for Serta not to realize who they screw over. So now I want you to know who not to go to. Please don't waste your hard earned money like I have.

Bought a Serta mattress in Feb. 2014 and it is broken down on both sides. Also there is a hump in the middle of mattress. My wife is 78. I am 82 and the Serta people want me to take bed apart and photograph seven photos. I got out of hospital on the 14 of this month and can not lift more than 10 lbs for at least 6 weeks. I told Serta all this and they said unless I take all the pics they would not be able to consider a replacement. My suggestion to anyone my age is to stay away from Sears and Serta. They are a bunch of money grabbing companies that do NOT care about the older people.

We purchased a Serta King almost 2 years ago. If I recall correctly it had a 20 year warranty and cost about $2200. It was great at first, but roughly 9 months later my wife and I began developing back pains. At first we thought they were from a couple of old chairs in our home office and replaced the chairs. But as the intensity of the pain increased it dawned on us that our "beautiful" 20+ year mattress was the culprit!

After checking the mattress with an 2' straight edge, we discovered that the mattress developed depressions on both sides around the areas where our butts generally reside. Considering I'm only 5'7" and 165# and my wife only 5"2" 120#, this should not have happened under any circumstance. The warranty stated that the mattress would be replaced if the depression was over 1 1/2" and since the current depression is "only" 1 1/4" what am I supposed to do, further destroy our backs while waiting for the depression to reach 1 1/2"? Or maybe we should host a dinner party on the mattress until it deepens? And if you do reach that 1 1/2" mark, you'll be given a replacement at a service charge of $300 (?) plus inspection and other fees. This is a crock of you know what! The mattress firm that handles crap like this should be out of business and Serta should be shut down!

We purchased a Serta I Cloud mattress approximately five years ago. The mattress was super comfortable for about the first three years however, the memory foam has broken down and the bed is now excruciatingly painful to sleep on. We followed the directions and never put hot sheets on the bed and we purchased the special mattress cover to ensure if liquid was spilled on the bed, it would not cause the foam to break down yet it still did. Serta will not replace the mattress unless there is a 3/4 inch sag or indentation so we are stuck with a $3,800 bed that causes horrendous back pain and that we can barely roll out of because it has broken down so much. We are NOT happy.

Bought our Serta Merit in mid/late 2014. Within a few months, developed divots in the mattress where our butts are located. Since you can't flip the mattress we constantly have to turn our mattress. We actually turn out mattress also what would normally be the top and bottom, we turn the mattress so that is now right and left sides. Worst mattress and the last Serta we buy. With spending the cost we did, we have to endure this for a few more years before we are 100% Serta free, for good. Not sure where their quality went, of course, that doesn't matter because our issue started within a few months and continues with every clockwise turn. Neither of us are over 180lbs.

My Mom and I were both in the market for a new mattress, so we went to Big Lots and each chose a different Serta mattress. Both were sagging within 3 days of sleeping on them. Big Lots has a 30-day policy where you can get an exchange or refund, so we went and got another Serta hoping it would be better. We have between the 2 of us, now tried 4 different Serta mattresses and all 4 have been total JUNK! I suffer from back pain and these mattresses have made it very painful to even stand up straight when I walk now. I have felt like I've been run over by a train every morning when sleeping on these mattresses. My Mom's hip pain has gotten much worse and now she has developed shoulder pain as well from these horrible beds. My mood and quality of life have both suffered due to lack of sleep.

I am now sleeping on the FLOOR until my Saatva mattress comes in. I kid you not, I'd rather sleep on a bed of NAILS than another Serta mattress. After trying to sleep on a Serta iComfort hybrid mattress for over a hundred nights, I contacted the major department store where I bought it and was allowed to return it (for a modest restocking fee) and make another selection. Thank goodness (I chose a traditional innerspring by Stearns and Foster and am very pleased)! The Serta was cheaply made and too lightweight. It did not give me proper support and as a result I developed a back ache (that I thought was a kidney problem, but was not). Absolutely no edge support. And hot!! Within minutes of getting into bed, I would become so hot that I to turn back all the cover. I lowered the temperature in my bedroom to 65 degrees and was still too hot (in the month of January, too). My "sinkage," which was drastic, caused no air flow, thus making me hot. Bottom line: I do not recommend this mattress!!! Overpriced and a bad choice!!!

My Serta mattress is one week short of a year old and it is sagging. When it was 2 months old, it was the most comfortable mattress I owned and recommended to people. Not anymore! Less than a year old, and I can't believe the pain my back and hips are in. The warranty states that it must sag 1.5 inches before they replace it. I guarantee that is not the case when you look at it. It is a pillow top mattress, so it doesn't show indentation. However when you slightly push on it, you sag to the middle of the mattress. When you lay on the mattress you sink dramatically! This is a split king mattress and we purchased my husband's on the same day. We have slept on the mattresses the same amount of time and I am of lesser weight. His bed is not like this as of yet. Don't buy a Serta iComfort hybrid! The killer is we still owe $2000 on them. I want to warn anybody who is considering purchasing iComfort Queen Bed, STOP! You may be an arthritis sufferer who has read how wonderful the cooling gel will feel. This is total BS! Why do you think arthritis hurts more in cold weather? The foam in this bed starts to sag in no time. Even somebody without a painful spine will get one from sleeping in this bed.

I have arthritis in my cervical and lumbar spine. I sleep on my back or on my sides. Whatever position that I fall asleep in, I am awoken in two hours or less with excruciating pain in that area, unable to get back to sleep again. I have woken in soo much pain that I am in tears and trembling all over. I go out to the sofa and on my way, I take ** or ** and put my moist heat packs in the microwave. Once I get the pain under control, I am still suffering from anxiety from the experience. This was the most expensive bed that I ever purchased and by far the worst.

I have tried to get assistance from the store where I purchased it and Serta directly on numerous occasions and got nowhere much earlier in this awful experience to current. If there is ever a class action lawsuit, I want to be included for all of the needless pain and suffering that Serta has put me through along with the extra medical attention that I had to endure. I feel so foolish for trusting Serta to manufacture only a quality product and to do right by me. After four years, my nap today was the last straw! I have just purchased another bed.

Received replacement mattress in April 2013 - filed claim for "sink hole" in memory foam in May 2016. Claim denied due to staining. Have had a waterproof mattress cover on since day one that showed no signs of pass through stains. Staining on mattress cover did not match stains on actual mattress foam - unsure where the "stains" came from, but nothing lined up so as to suggest it was caused by my wife or myself. Mattress is hybrid of spring and two layers of memory foam. Very large area of both foam layers split causing you to sink down to the spring level when laying in the bed. Multiple individual springs had punctured out of their sleeves and the metal tore through the foam as pressure was applied from sleeping on the mattress.

Spoke with case manager to argue the facts and was told to file a claim with the mattress protector company - again, protector not defective and used successfully on two previous mattresses with zero staining. Stains only on side of mattress that had the defect, so seems likely that there was a manufacturing issue with the bed itself. Was told by the case manager that even if the stain was water that it would compromise the bed. So the $2500 bed is so fragile that water would eat away at two layers of foam through both a waterproof mattress cover, the actual mattress cover and eat away at the spring casing in order for them to be released.

I went through two rounds of BBB communication over the last year and each time they were just a broken record and offered no resolution aside from staining caused the mattress to fail, not a defect. To make matters worse, we discovered this mattress had no law tag attached ANYWHERE. So either the company that delivered the replacement gave us a used/fake mattress or Serta themselves ordered it.

I advise would be don't buy, they are not worth all the money you pay for them. I have had better beds for a lot less.

We bought the I-series Applause Serta mattress, considered from the salesman of Sears as a firm mattress. It cost about $1300. When it delivered I thought it was a different one from the one I tested at Sears. It was soft and my husband and I are sinking when we sleep. Our back pain is worse and really we are very disappointed. It is a fraud to sell a firm mattress and realize that is so soft that you sink and you have to toss all night!!! The inspection process is ridiculous. They ask photos without nobody on the top to show it sinks on its own. So after I lost a lot of time taking pictures, sending to the customer service they reply to me that I cannot prove what I am saying and cannot reimburse me. I felt like I was going to turn crazy. We try to think what we could do to avoid spend more money to buy a new mattress. Any idea??? DON'T BUY SERTA MATTRESS AND SPECIALLY FROM SEARS!!! THEY WANT ONLY TO SELL!!!

Additionally, we both are having back issues now and are very uncomfortable at night. We are now in the process of buying a new mattress and basically throwing away the $2000 that we spent on the mattress. However our health is more important than the money and getting a good night's sleep is what we're really truly looking forward to. There's absolutely no support in this mattress and I feel that it should be recalled.

Purchased this Serta inner spring mattress on Black Friday 2016. It is now March 2017. A bit over 3 months of sleeping on it, and the sewing threads are coming loose all over the top and sides of the mattress. I sleep alone, I'm about 5'11" tall and weigh 160 pounds. The mattress is always covered with a bedspreads, so no body contact with the mattress material. And yet the threads are coming off by the handful. If after 3 months the threads are coming loose all over, I cannot see this mattress lasting longer than a year! The Serta warranty is worthless, it only covers the springs breaking and/or the mattress sagging, anything else is not covered. Total junk. For what it's worth, this mattress replaced a 20+ year old Simmons inner spring. Instead of throwing out the old mattress I put it in the spare bedroom. I'm now glad I did, I have a feeling I'm going to go back to that old mattress before the year ends! Serta scammed me.

Bought a Perfect Sleeper mattress and box spring from The Firm three months ago. It cost about a thousand dollars, after taxes. I weigh 175 pounds. I tried this bed a few times in a few different stores. When it delivered, I thought they had sent the wrong one. In the store the mattress was made with memory foam. Pretty firm. Felt supported. This one was made of foam. Foam foam. I checked the tags. Seemed to be the same. Didn't know what to think. Felt like I was going crazy.

The mattress is very light and continually shifts off the box springs. At least a couple of times a night I get up to push it back on to the box spring. When I lie on my back, my back hurts. When I lie on my side, my hips hurt. Thus I toss and turn all night (all the while shifting the mattress off the box spring). I did not have back or hip pain prior to getting this bed.

Each time the dog gets out of the bed & walks on my carpet the stuff falls off of him & I have to vacuum. For over $50.00 this should not happen. Who says Serta is the best???

Great mattress for the first 6 months, then support degrade after that. I suffer from back pain so the i-Comfort Hybrid series in firm (Fundamental model) seemed like an ideal replacement for my 10-year-old inner spring Sealy mattress. Eventually you'll sink into a hole as the memory foam upper doesn't hold up. My wife and I now have a 'hill' down the middle of the mattress that limits your sleeping space to your own body cavity hole. I had 2 different inspectors come out from Serta and they both used their measuring tools to come to the conclusion that the bed is not defective and is within the warranty allowances. Yet I continue to sleep in my confined hole and am now considering taking this POS to the dump and eating a good amount of money.

The inspection process was such a waste of time. I spent $1,650 on this set and it's barely a year old. Don't fall for the 100-day satisfaction sleep guarantee because 100 days is not nearly enough time to give a true assessment. I'll never buy another Serta Mattress since they obviously don't care to stand behind their claims that i-Comfort Series is "revolutionary" and is worth the good money I paid for it. Don't fall for the Consumer Reports review that gave it a shining review. This experience has shown me that CR is no longer a good source for researching products before I purchase.

When we complained to them they had someone come out and look at it. It was determined to be defective and luckily we are getting a replacement. I'm so disappointed in this and now I'm afraid by getting a replacement it will do the same thing and then nothing will be done about it. My wife experienced the same problem. I searched every article available on Memory Foam mattresses and was told the strong toxic odor would dissipate in a couple of days. I took all of the bedding off, opened all windows and let it air out for 3 days. The smell only got worse.

I went back to Sit 'n Sleep and was shipped a new bed immediately. Good customer service. The exact thing happened on the replacement bed. Finally after another week I went down to Sit 'n Sleep and was given a full refund. Good service. After searching through the internet I found exactly what I was looking for, Saatva. After months of research and in-store exploration, we settled on the Serta icomfort F500. Price was $3699 before the foundation. We had an all latex mattress for 14 years and it was wonderful. But over time, it started to break down and needed to be replaced. You can't go to a brick and mortar store and find an all latex mattress so we ordered one online like last time. Only this one was not made with the same quality and it was too jiggly so we returned it at much expense and hassle. After that experience we REALLY do not want to have to return another mattress but the Serta icomfort F500 has to go. We have had it for about 6 weeks.

The first two weeks we really liked it and were relieved. But after that my arms and hands started to tingle and go to sleep after several minutes. I'm a side sleeper and I can feel the trigger points in my shoulders and hips. We specifically got the softest version (which was also the most expensive) because I had experienced numb arms in the past when sleeping on a hard mattress. We thought the soft version would keep our arms/hands from going to sleep but we were wrong. It's like you sink into the bed when sleeping on your side and instead of your shoulders sinking in as well they are somewhat at a different angle that puts pressure on your arms. I agree with the other reviewers that it's like you are in a hole and it can be almost impossible to roll over, especially toward the middle.

The other night I was home alone and specifically attempted to sleep in the very middle of the bed and it was like I was on a hump after only having it for about 6 weeks. If we lie on our backs, the bed is fairly comfortable but for side sleeping it is not good at all. Even if we try to lie on our backs all night it seems like we wake up with lower back pain. I just wouldn't recommend this mattress because there has got to be a better way to sleep than being awakened all night due to numb arms. I don't have the answer. I wish I did because I would gladly return this and buy something else. Any suggestions are welcome!

We were so excited about our iComfort mattress when we first purchased it. It was so comfortable for the first few months and then, I began to notice I was waking up in the morning with severe low back pain. I didn't realize at the time how the mattress had actually broken down, and the indentation in the bed where I had been lying. I finally realized that as I was lying in bed, I was lying in a hole. I weigh all of 105 pounds. This mattress has continued to break down and deteriorate. The day I went back in to the mattress store to ask if there had been any complaints with this mattress was actually the 2 year anniversary of our purchase. I was informed that the mattress I had purchased had major problems that had been reported.

I have endured severe pain, pain management including epidural injections over the past months, and then I realized it was the mattress that we had purchased to help promote our good health, and a great night's sleep. Also, the pain has been so bad first thing in the morning, when I first wake up. Instead of feeling refreshed, I feel severe pain in my low back. I have photographs on and off of this mattress to prove the deterioration of this mattress.

Will straighten out your back which will help with chiropractor bills. Recently strained my back lifting a heavy suitcase. I was a guest in a friend's house she had the worst mattress (she bought a $100 foam topper for it). The topper was OK for 2.5 months then it died - total waste of $$$. I then rented a hotel room with a very good mattress (Sealy of course). I was in agony & it took 12 days of sleeping on their mattress to finally feel better. Does Serta iComfort Memory Foam Mattress need a Class Action Lawsuit? I've seen other posts on this website suggesting it does. My husband & I agree it needs to be taken off the market NOW, please. My husband suggested I should "look up" on the Internet to see if others with the adjustable bed & Serta iComfort Memory Foam Mattress had back and/or body pains.

Amazingly, I discovered others also think this crazy mattress by Serta needs a Class Action Lawsuit. Several years ago, my doctor suggested I buy an adjustable bed to help with acid reflux. ** solved that issue. We've had this crazy mattress for several years & it never occurred until recently that it was the mattress causing my husband & my aches & pains!! We both work full-time & are mid 50's.

But now I wake up with back pain daily and we're 100% sure it's the crazy mattress. My husband works out of town most of the time & no matter what motel he stays in, he stated his back & entire body only hurts when he sleeps at home on this crazy mattress!!! Even my dog now has issues with walking after sleeping on the mattress & it appears her legs are asleep -- I have to help her get off of it (& she's a 70+ lb pit bull dog, so it's not an easy chore)!!! My arms & legs go to sleep -- my neck hurts --- my back hurts --- I get leg cramps. Both of my shoulders popped & cracked so bad last night & I couldn't get to sleep for hours due to the back pain is the reason I'm writing this.

I fear if I don't get a new mattress soon, I'll end up in a wheelchair!!! No joke. My husband said his legs only go numb when he sleeps at home!!! I'm may go to a doctor to see if any of my bones have actually been affected by this crazy mattress, I really don't know. But I do know one thing for sure -- don't buy this crazy mattress unless you love to suffer from aches & pains daily. I DID NOT have any back pains before we bought this crazy mattress!!! I don't take pain meds, but this sorry mattress makes me feel as if I need some. Help, please -- get Serta to quit selling the iComfort Memory Foam mattress -- we could have bought a nice used car for what we paid for this torture device!!!

I guess I'll be getting a new mattress for Christmas before I become an invalid! No fault of the business who sold me this crazy mattress -- the fault 100% belongs to Serta. We first thought about buying a Sealy Posturpedic or a Sleep Numbers mattress, but wound up buying this one instead -- bad mistake!!! The number of complaints I've found on this website are clearly evidence there are issues with the Serta iComfort Memory Foam itself. So many people couldn't be posting the same issues if it weren't true!! Please post if your arms and/or legs go numb. Sometimes I sleep on the couch because I can't stand that mattress anymore -- and amazingly, my symptoms go away -- same if I sleep on any other mattress.

I'd love to go "Black Friday" shopping today with relatives, but two hours after waking up, my arms are still tingling & my legs are still numb!!! Maybe another hour of sitting up instead of lying down on that crazy mattress will allow my issues to end. This would be a funny story if it wasn't true!!! But sorry to say, it's 100% true!!! If you want to buy a new mattress, run like heck from this one or you'll regret it!!! Buy any other mattress in the world -- but not a Serta iComfort Memory Foam Mattress.

My 240 lb hubby and myself (140 lbs) bought this mattress to replace another crappy mattress. The Sams memory foam mattress. We bought this POS at a small store that has since gone out of business. The first weeks or so, I thought maybe it was just me. I was exhausted, in pain, and miserable. We went on a vacation and stayed in a friend's small home with a $200, squeaky, old, feel the springs a bit mattress and I woke feeling better than I had in weeks. I attributed it to being out of town.

Returning home, the extreme pain returned. This was no ordinary pain. I was homeschooling my son and he would lovingly laugh at my morning struggle down the stairs from the pain in my hips and back. I am 38, so I thought that maybe it was just a sign of getting older. Soon after, hockey season started. We stayed in many cheap hotels and realized that if you sleep better in a $50 a night hotel than on your brand new mattress, something is wrong. My next test was changing where I sleep at home. The couch. After a few nights on the couch, I don't feel like death everyday. I am much better off. My hips don't lie! They don't hurt. My shoulders are back to normal, my jaws are suffering.

Basically, this bed is a torture device. It is made to cause you prolonged, agonizing suffering on a daily basis. I can't imagine, with these reviews, how it is still being sold and why I don't have a refund in the mail. It has stolen an entire year of my life. I have been in and out of doctors. Unable to do a lot of my domestic duties, and never felt like leaving my house from pain and exhaustion all because of this bed. It caused my fibromyalgia to stay flamed up and caused issues in my body that only a 200-year-old person should feel. I am angry that a company could allow such a garbage product to be sold and at such a high price. We had scrimp and save to get a new mattress. I will be off the couch and back on bed tonight!! Please do not buy this mattress!! I won't even give it away because it is so bad. You are better off sleeping on the floor!!

So they will send me a "kit" in which I will have to perform the task of gathering the inspection information they want, such as sending photos etc. I was also told if there is not at least a 2" "visible" indent then they will deny my claim.

I find this outrageous! First, I am a customer, not an employee of an inspection department for any corporation, so why is the burden being placed on me? Second, whether or not the indent is visible is irrelevant! If there wasn't an issue, I wouldn't have contacted them! Thinking that the wording "Cal-King Split" meant the bed could move as described above. Would have checked this out in store, but this model is not available at the local store. The wording even mentioned that each remote could be configured to operate either side which also led me to think that this product had two separate sections. Even tried calling the "dedicated Serta hotline for Sam's Club members" which was a waste of time. I was told by the person that she couldn't help me & to read the description & that she had no additional information & could not answer any questions.

After the bed was delivered, my 77 year old husband was left to try to attach our old headboard & footboard. A major pain, that involved removing each leg to attach the additional hardware. The headboard & footboard sit so far away from the mattress that our pillows fall through to the floor at night. This bed is much higher than expected & poses a possible hazard for my spouse just trying to get in & out since he had limited range. I will probably need to find a safe step up for him but then worry if he gets up at night & trips over it. This mattress is like sleeping on rocks & buying this bed is my biggest regret ever. I wish I could send this back & forget this nightmare ever happened. Don't think I mentioned that the "massage feature" is more nuisance than comfort. Worst buy I've ever made!

I have had to change rooms to sleep in, as this is very uncomfortable and it is defective. WE paid almost 4000.00 for this disaster of a bed and frame.

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ROOMS TO GO OR ANY KIND OF SERTA MATTRESS. They scam the elderly or anyone else who basically trust people to tell you the truth when selling you a product. WE told the sales person that we needed a bed that can be elevated at night due to a medical condition. The mattresses are not good for an adjustable mattress... This is an awful experience, don't believe their warranty either. They say 20 years??? Ha what a joke, we have had 3 mattresses in just 2.5 years.

I paid approximately $1700 for the Perfect Sleeper Elite III mattress. Will never make that mistake again. I became interested in the mattress after sleeping on one in a hotel. I liked that mattress and assumed that if I purchased one it would be identical, it was not. I like a firm mattress, and the one I received was firm... for a week. After that it showed impressions where I slept and was no longer firm but soft. Exactly what I did not want. I called to complain, they sent someone out to look at the mattress then sent me a letter later that basically said they couldn't find any manufacturing defects so case closed. So I am stuck with it. I will probably move it to the guest room and get another mattress... but it will never be a Serta again.

Bought a King Serta iComfort mattress last year in the absence of my husband who was still working and living in NY when I moved to TN. I lay on several mattresses for a good while till the salesman swore by the Serta iComfort after I mentioned my husband's back problems. It seemed comfortable in the store and now that I read other reviews it makes sense but the mattress did not feel as firm in the store as it does now. I mean it is painfully firm, because now after a year I have back problems and hip pain from the pressure of the mattress. My husband hates it so much he would gladly throw this overpriced mattress to the curb. I was also told to jump on it by the salesman which I have done. I tried pleading with Serta to let me return the mattress for a softer one even if they prorated it, they simply brushed me off saying "We are sorry you feel this way, and sorry but you are stuck with your purchase".

I previously owned a $500.00 memory foam mattress that was way more comfortable than this thing. Needless to say we are not happy with the mattress and due to the swift and canned response by Serta this will be the last mattress that I bought from them. I am currently searching for a good mattress topper to see if that will help. If not we'll bite the bullet and throw it out.

No problem paying the delivery fees, however the 15% charge when it was a 30 day in home trial is a joke. Mattress was not comfortable, hurt my back, felt every movement my husband made in the bed. Serta just lost our business forever. We had intended on buying a Tempur-Pedic mattress from them (more expensive) but they just lost out on that sale. Will be buying our mattress elsewhere. We bought a Serta Latex Mattress back in 2000. It was getting time to replace it so I started looking as it is almost 17 years old and it is starting to sag. My husband wanted the exact same mattress. Well they discontinued it and only make the Latex Mattress in Salt Lake City, Utah. So I called the Serta Manufacturer in Salt Lake. Had them look up the specs on my old mattress. They said they now sell a latex that is only a 1/2 inch difference from my old mattress but it is not a pillow top. It is a euro top but you should not be able to tell much difference. They said I would have to purchase through a local store and gave me the store information Bradley's Furniture in Salt Lake City. I called them and asked a lot of questions about the mattress over the next couple of days. I was told that the owner had this same mattress and loved it, the owner's son said he had this mattress and loved it, so forth.

The mattress had to be shipped to me by freight which I paid for. The mattress cost $1899 plus shipping and then they charged me a finance charge for using the finance company that has zero percent interest for 12 months. The mattress arrives and we get it on our bed. It is nothing like our old mattress, we tried to sleep on it. Both of us were miserable so I contacted the store and told them the mattress was terrible and there was a problem with it because it slopes down on all sides, you can't sit on the side of the bed or lay on the side of the bed because the sides collapse all the way down and you roll off. The middle was hard as a rock, I was told to take it off my bed and jump all over it. WHAT? I never had to do this for comfort on my other mattress. My body hurt so bad from that first night I could hardly stand it. So we tried the second night - there was no way so we went and got our old mattress and put it back on our bed.

I ordered a 4 inch pillow top hoping that would help. We put it on and still no relief and if you got to the edge you would fall out of the bed onto the floor. I took pictures of the mattress and sent it to the furniture store again, they said they would contact Serta. I heard nothing for 4 days. Finally I called Serta CS in Salt Lake City, I sent them the photos directly. They told me there was nothing wrong with the mattress and that I should not sleep so close to the edge or sit on the edge of the bed. I said "WHAT? How am I suppose to get into or out of the bed as it collapses completely down and you roll off onto the floor?" She said we needed to sleep in the middle of the mattress, I said that did not help and the mattress is terrible. I only weigh a little over a hundred pounds and my husband weighs 225. He can grab the whole side of the mattress when he sits on it.

She told me "Well don't sit on the side of the mattress then, and that is just too bad because we are not covering anything on this mattress." I contacted the store back, they told me I had to pay to ship it back and there would be a restocking fee of 20% and it had to be back to them in 30 days or else. I called the finance company and they said the furniture store was not suppose to charge a finance fee and they are suppose to get the mattress themselves and not charge me for return shipping and you are not responsible for getting it back to them under their 30 day return policy.

So basically I am out about $1000 because of all the fees for shipping $300, finance fee almost $100 and restocking fee of $380 and they are trying to make me pay to send it back to them which is another $300 and I don't have nothing to show for it. I was totally lied to about this mattress being the same as my other mattress. I will tell everyone I know not to buy a Serta Mattress because they are a piece of junk and they do not stand by their products at all. I have never seen a mattress like this. It is worse than a mattress at a cheap hotel and they ripped me off for a lot of money at this point. Serta is a joke and does not stand behind their products!

Due to being young, newly married, and having a small child we never had the money for a new one so, when we finally got to where we could we bought one. We shopped for about 3 days testing out different ones from different places and found this one. Like I said it was great AT FIRST. Two weeks after bringing it home I woke up with the worst backache I at 24 had ever experienced in my life with exception given to slipped discs in high school. The next day same thing and my wife was the same. This went on for about a week until we decided it was the bed.

We ended up spending over a hundred and fifty dollars just three weeks after buy this thing for a 6 inch memory foam bed pad. Fast forward to today and the memory foam is flattening out and I am waking up multiple times during the night and getting very little sleep and so is my wife. LONG STORY SHORT: This mattress was the worst investment we ever made and will soon be replaced with something a lot more reliable.

Serta said I would have to pay an inspector $75 if I wanted to take advantage of their warranty and there would be no guarantee if there was not an indentation of at least 1.5". Well, you see there is the catch. There is not an indentation. It is a memory foam mattress. If you looked at it and put a yardstick across it, it would show barely any indentation at all. This is not an indentation - it is a "mush hole" that you have to struggle to get out of in the morning. I have posted a couple of times about my experience with the iComfort by Serta. After the second failure of a "custom built" iComfort sleep set, and doing my own inspection for Serta, my wife and I agreed to pay a little over $100.00 to have a hybrid replace the iComfort. This mattress is a vast improvement over the previous 2, but it is still not worth the three thousand dollar price tag. The original purchase came with a 25 year warranty, and the mattress we settled on has a 10 year warranty.

Since the furniture store we purchased the original sleep set from went out of business, we had to deal with Serta. This was actually easy enough to do, taking pictures with measuring tools. There was a serious lack of communication with Serta, no email confirmations, etc., but they did replace the mattress, only the mattress. 6 months in, I'm not happy, but grateful that it's better. There is still a problem with the depression, or sagging in your sleep area. I still have a backache after 6 hours. I really hope this company will get back to quality over quantity, and EARN some customer loyalty.

Updated on 5/6/2016: Coil springs combined with space age "foam" technology. Best of both worlds, correct? Just not the case. No matter what I do, this mattress sags, and sags, and then sags some more. This mattress was a compromise with Serta, from the i-Comfort to the i-series. I lost 15 years of warranty. All 3 of these mattresses were just plain inferior in their design, engineering and function. My wife and I have been vigilant in rotating this newest mattress twice per month. Perhaps they could learn how to temper a spring. Perhaps they could use real world testing, perhaps they should consider that I'm not full of crap, and simply do a lot better job.

My husband and I were married 2/14/13. We decided we needed a new mattress soon after. We went to Mattress firm purchase a mid level innerspring mattress. After 2-3 months we noticed it was dipping, and holding our positions where we laid. Then we discovered the mattress was absorbing the color of whatever sheet we placed on that week. We contacted Mattress Firm and by the measurement of the 'dips ' it had developed (I weigh 174, my husband 230, not lightweight, but not over the top) they would exchange it. We were coerced into their top of the line Icomfort series by serta. It had all the bells and whistles. Adjustable base, the feet, the head lounge position, plus 'massage' settings (which is little more than a bad vibration, think back to the sleepy hotels where you'd put a quarter in... that's it) but nonetheless.

We were sold. Brought it home, liked it for about 4 days... then the problems started. Couldn't GET comfortable, YOU Can't Roll over, YOU'RE Stuck In YOUR Own sent you created 5 mins ago. Forget about having sex... that's out completely! Then the backaches start. 3 months in, my husband is spending more time sleeping on the couch than in the bed. He would constantly wake up in pain, or worse, never fall asleep. So less than a year into our marriage, we're sleeping in different rooms.

We contacted Mattress Firm, they kept saying it takes more time to get use to a new mattress, 6, 8 months pass, now they say they need a measurement of the dips??? What? And now 2 years later, I've had several back issues. Even had 12 trigger point injections to relieve the pressure and tense muscles in my back, and most recently, my left shoulder (I'm a side sleeper) has pinched nerves so badly that my primary care physician, my x ray technician and a specialized pain management doctor have all asked that I get a new mattress. But I'm stuck. This piece of hell that I sleep on cost me 3700. Not including the pillows and mattress protector he sold us. I had to buy that in payments. I can't afford another mattress. We are newlyweds, without a matrimonial bed!!!

Unbelievably disappointed in Serta and Mattress firm. Kudos to my husband who once a week, or every other week will sleep in here to make me happy. We bought a Serta Mattress from JCPenney on March 21, 2015, delivered to our home on April 9, 2015. Two days after delivery we called JCP and complained about the holes in the mattress. They sent a technician who found no problem at the time. But what he used to measure the depression was almost laughable. It appeared to be a round gadget that couldn't have weighed more than a 1/2 lb. then he took what looked like a string and placed it on top of the mattress from side to side. You could see a small hole but even I would know that there has to be some weight put on the mattress to see the high definition of that depression. We called JCP several wks later since they never got back to us with his report. When they told us there wasn't any problem I immediately said that there definitely was a problem but was told that I couldn't put another complaint in for 30 days.

In 30 days I complained once again. They sent out a technician who told us while in the house that we not only had a problem with the mattress but that the box springs were warped also. We called again, and again with absolutely no help from JCP. Upon delivery of that king size mattress immediately we found two holes on either side of the mattress with a definite ridge in the center. Even on just making the bed it was obviously visible that the 2 holes were definitely present.

After getting no results from JCP we called the JCP Corp offices. They said they would arrange for pickup and refund or credit our account. As you can tell by this complaint THAT WAS A BIG TIME NO SHOW! Again this has been an ongoing battle. On January 18, 2016 my husband spoke to Rose in the furniture dept at JCP and she said this case is closed. HOW CAN THIS CASE BE CLOSED WHEN WE STILL HAVE A MATTRESS that requires us to leverage ourselves by holding on to the sides of the bed to pull ourselves out of the bed.

I attempted to explain my issue with Customer Service but kept getting rudely interrupted by the service rep, who stated the document was not altered of falsified. It is in the other bedroom for guests and they do not like it either but is fine for 1-2 nights' sleep for them. I have been sleeping on my 20-year-old mattress from Simmons and it is 10,000 times more comfortable than this iComfort. And I have emailed Serta a few times in the past but never received any response and that tells me just how horrible they are to deal with. The so-called stain policy that voids a warranty am sure will be in a class action suit soon. A stain has absolutely nothing to do with poor workmanship of their product. After owning a Serta "Beautyrest World Class Recharge Shakespeare Luxury Plush Pillow top Mattress" for about two years, and paying over $2000, the mattress was sagging. So I called Serta, and they send you a "sleep set inspection kit" where you have run a string across the dips in the mattress and take photos from different angles. After doing all this they agreed to replace the mattress. When their team arrived they said that they couldn't take the mattress because of a small stain!!

I called Serta, and was told that the stain voided the warranty because it wasn't sanitary for their inspection team to open the mattress up and see where the mattress failed. The product was an inferior product with a huge manufacturers defect, and because of a small stain (barley visible) which had nothing to do with the sagging, was a loophole they used to void the warranty. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SERTA PRODUCT BECAUSE THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND IT!!!

We rotated the mattress to limit the exposure time to my 230# self. The craters only got deeper. Now, the craters actually prevent us from rolling over in the night. The depression were measured at 1-3/8" there. The threshold is set at 1-1/2" as measured by an "independent" inspection agency. I called, I emailed and the smug Jim **, senior account manager, replied on the phone, "Comfort is not a warranty issue." You make mattresses that fail! Additionally if there is any sign that the mattress was exposed to water or any dirt, they void the warranty.

My wife and I bought 2 Serta twin xl mattress and foundation sets along with the power adjustable beds. The bed units are made by Leggett & Platt. No problem with the beds, great product and I had business experience with L&P before which is why I was comfortable with their product. The Serta mattress sets were another issue entirely. After sleeping on the mattress for 1 year we noticed a significant loss of firmness/support.

I contacted High Country Furniture and the salesman said he would get with the Serta rep and call me back. He did call back in a few days and said for us to stop by the Waynesville N.C. Store and see him. We did and were told that customer satisfaction was very important to Serta and High Country and we could pick out any twin xl set to replace our existing set. We chose the Serta I series sets, even though the I series was $300-$400 per set more than what we had to begin with. We were very impressed. The new I series sets were delivered and set up, the old ones taken away.

We spend 6 months in Georgia in the winter and the 6 summer months we spend in N.C. At our summer home. Well, after sleeping on the I series 2 6 month winters, we have the loss of firmness issue again. This after only using them a total of less than 2 years combined. I checked the mfg tag and they were made in April 2013. So less than 3 years. Called High Country again and left message. That was 3 months ago and I still have not heard back. I guess I will have to eat this purchase after all... but it is THE LAST Serta I will buy.

This mattress is less than three years and neither my wife nor I can sleep on it. The foam has deteriorated so much in certain areas, that you literally roll into a hole on either side and you are stuck there. To move out of the hole, you need to use your arms to leverage yourself out of the hole. The product quality is terrible.

They had a third party come out to inspect and they put a cone on the bed that is less than 1lb in weight, to measure the depressions. I weigh more than 1lb, so this test was laughable. To make it worse they took the measurements high on the bed, not where the weight of your body rests. Mor and Serta are bad organizations to deal with...

Purchased a IComfort Revolution King mattress in Jan of 2012. Price for the mattress alone was $2200. With the adjustable base it came to $5500 total. When it was delivered it did not feel like the showroom model at all. Called the store to inquire if it was the correct mattress. We were told that we needed to jump on it to soften it up, something that was never mentioned when we purchased it. It had a strong chemical odor as well, that gave me headaches. The smell dissipated and the mattress softened in time. It felt good for the first year.

After the first year there started to be sagging where my spouse and I slept. Not long after that I started to experience hip pain, which I did not immediately connect to the mattress. Rotating the really heavy mattress didn't help because where my hip hits there is still a sag. It took about a year to realize the mattress was causing my hip pain. So before I was even done paying for the mattress I had to find a new one. It should have occurred to me that if the mattress needed to be broken in to feel comfortable that it would continue to break down after that time. Would not have dreamed that the mattress would have lasted for such a short amount of time given the large investment.

They said they would send someone out to do a depression test. They explained what that was. When we got home we did the test ourselves and lo and behold the mattress passed, of course it would, foam retains its shape without extra weight... We called and cancelled appointment as we know where it was going. Today we went to store and told them that nothing has changed and that it feels like we are crawling out of a bowl every morning. All the salesmen brag about the warranty but the warranty doesn't mean jack crap once you have a sweat stain on it because now you have no warranty. The mattress protector cover is also suppose to be warrantied for 10 yrs, then how do you still get sweat stains on the mattress? We ended up putting a memory foam topper on it because it was too expensive to buy another king size mattress. Oh by the way you must buy the foundation set at the same time you purchase the mattress or you don't get a warranty either. What good is the warranty anyway if it sucks to begin with.

This included the steel frame to put on the floor, the matching box spring and the icomfort mattress. At first we were very happy with this mattress and slept well. About 18 months later, we were not so happy with "the sag". We purchased a select comfort bed from a friend that had independent controls for his or her sides. This bed lasted about 6 months and we were not happy with the 6 inch border or wall in the middle of the bed.

We sold the select comfort bed and went back to our icomfort from Serta. It has been about a year now and the sag is just getting worse. I called Sleep City where we purchased it. They said our satisfaction was important and they would send "a rep" to our house to inspect it. Two days later a man came to our house. The bed was stripped down, the sag is clearly visible, approx. 1/4" it measured 3/8" at the worst spot. He told my wife it looks excellent and he'd put it back on the showroom floor. He also told her that it must sag 3/4" before the warranty comes into play.

My wife and I do not weigh 300 lb combined and we are waking up together in the center of the bed and neither of us are satisfied with this product. By the time it sags 3/4", the people will be 3-4" down. For $1,750.00 and 4 years and 1 month, this is a poorly manufactured product. We would not recommend this or any SERTA product. Then I started to take his complaints seriously. The thing started sagging. If you got too close to the edge, you felt like you were falling down the side of a mountain. The only place that was comfortable was smack in the middle of this queen sized mattress and that was only if you were ALONE in the bed. Well hello, where is hubby supposed to sleep now?

Not being a confrontational sort, I weathered the storm until we both started feeling like a train wreck in the morning. I woke up feeling worse than I did when I laid my bones down in the night. Life goes on... until I stripped the sheets one morning and told my husband (and son) to rotate the mattress, maybe that would help. Ok, my son being my son, decided to have a little fun and use the mattress as a trampoline. WELL... you can't imagine it if you didn't see it for yourself, but when he hit that mattress, a cloud of white rose up around him. Don't know what the hell it is but we are going to vacuum the mattress now with a clean vac bag, seal it in a plastic bag and send it to the lab. We've had someone come out to measure twice now and now they're saying we can replace the mattress and box springs, and that there is a new revamped version of the same mattress available now that came out only 3-4 weeks after we bought ours to make the foam inside better. The problem with the mattress is that it is sagging badly. We've had it for about 1800 months and Serta refuses to replace it.

The problem is proving it is sagging. They want you to take a tape measure and lay a broom or something flat across the mattress and then use the tape to measure the sag. Here is where it gets tricky. It is a memory foam mattress and even though it is sagging and worn badly. It is memory foam and bounces back up You can feel of it and lay on it and feel the sag. But the foam still pops back in place. Be careful. We spent a ton of money for a mattress we could only use for less than two years. We financed it for 48 months. Funny, the mattress wore out before it was even paid for. Now you know.

In order for the warranty to be valid you must purchase their special mattress cover which doesn't allow any fluids to penetrate to the mattress. It also doesn't allow the mattress to breathe or the cooling gel to work. Our bed started to smell with the cover on which is due to the mattress sleeping so hot! We removed the mattress cover and we noticed a huge difference with the temperature at night. However we now have normal spots in the mattress which now void any warranty.

The bed sags very bad after a couple of years and is not worth the money. Next time I would buy a regular mattress and invest in a memory foam topper, or invest in a Tempur-Pedic mattress. In October of 2014, my husband and I were searching for a mattress that would be best for us. We were willing to spend the money if we got what we wanted AND it was guaranteed not to sag or be defective. We spent $1800 on the Serta Emissary king mattress because we were assured that the 20-year warranty would protect us if the mattress began to sag or otherwise become defective but we had to spend $100 on a special cover to protect the mattress from staining. This cover prevented the mattresses cooling gel technology that was also a selling point.

Well, only a few months into using the mattress it began to sag on my side only. My husband is bigger than me and weighs more and his side is fine. I was reluctant to have my husband call about the warranty for fear of getting a 'runaround.' Just as I suspected, a technician came out, did his uber scientific studies on the mattress. We heard nothing. We had to call and we were advised that the divot is only 1.5 inches and it needs to be 2 - what?? We finally received a short, generic letter that said:

"Per the report there were no warrantable defects found in your mattress or foundation at this time. The Manufacturer's warranty guidelines state that normal body impressions are excluded under the warranty. Firmness level (comfort preference) is not a warrantable defect. Normal changes in softness and recovery time in the latex and memory foam mattresses over time are excluded. The mattress fabric is excluded (i.e. bunching, stitching or tears)."

First of all, Firmness level (comfort preference) is EXACTLY the reason we bought this mattress AND that is was told to us that it is a warrantable defect. Same with 'Normal changes in softness and recovery time in the latex and memory foam mattresses over time.." Then 'The mattress fabric is excluded (i.e. bunching, stitching or tears)' so what's left to warranty?? I tried calling the phone number they provided and ultimately, I left messages where I could (when I was able to actually talk to a human), but honestly, no one cared. As no surprise, I was never contacted.

At first Mattress Warehouse in Bel Air, MD seemed willing to work with us and the manager said said he would contact the Serta Rep directly. He did keep in contact with me until... apparently the rep said he wouldn't do anything for us. The Mattress Warehouse rep called me and said "You had mentioned filing a complaint with the Attorney General, that will probably be your best bet" - who says that?? So I did. It is pending. I agree with commenter above who thinks there should be class action lawsuit!! Sign us up - I know others who have had the same BS run-around. Serta needs to be sentenced to nights on their own mattresses!!

We bought this in March of 2012, we started seeing a bad sagging in about 18 months. We kept rotating it per their instruction. After a few years, we decided that maybe all the back, neck, leg and hip pains may be related to the bed. We decided to measure the bed and do some research on this bed. Turns out it has a sag over 1.5", and we knows a half dozen owners of this brand who also are not happy with this product.

When we contacted Sears and went through the process, we were denied a warranty, apparently the LAW TAG is missing from the bed, they installed the mattress, and we never took it off, but no tag no warranty. Either way, this should not be an issue, the bed has only been made a few years, and carried a 25-year warranty, we have all the receipts, packaging for the cover, and delivery information. Pretty much told too bad. I will never recommend this bed, Serta iComforts are overpriced garbage. A few months after the purchase of my Serta mattress in 2013 I started have neurological symptoms such as what's called a tetany of my muscles where they felt as though I wasn't able to move them, my memory started to be a small issue, headaches. The tetany would happen sporadically so I don't think too much of it, though it was in the back of my mind. As the months went on my symptoms started taking over my life. I finally started seeing every doctor you could imagine to no avail. Blood work was fine, pillar of health. Yet I continued to push and push knowing this wasn't ok or normal.

I now have tetany occurring not only with things I'm inhaling like paint etc., now it seems as though it's everything. Food, low levels of everyday perfumes, and other random things. Burning pain in my forearms, neck, and shoulders if I am exposed too long. It takes days sometimes a week to recover. The only thing that helps my symptoms is ** so by this time, I'm sipping in children's ** 25 times a day or so just to keep the tetany at bay to just existing.

After a year or so of seeing Drs who are literally no help outside of the offer for ** or some other psychological medication (which I never took). They offered no help. I went to another MD who recommended doing a hair sample, I had one done maybe 10 months before the purchase of the mattress. Checks minerals etc, I have Hashimoto's as millions of people do so trying to keep thyroid function optimal is essential. My hair analysis came back and antimony was off the charts, not even measurable. The earlier test showed minimal levels. Test was Done by the same lab so it was consistent. As I looked further into this, it's used most often in fire retardants. Nothing new in my life regarding status of home etc., just this mattress.

I call Serta forwarding my hair samples requesting a refund or a new mattress chemical free. I tell them their mattress has made me very very ill and I just want my money back. I get an email back assuring me this chemical is nowhere to be found anywhere on this mattress, they are sorry, "have a great day." They are unable to help me. In the email they say "antimony is not used in any of our products and we are Chemi pur certified." I look up Chemi pur certified and on page 2 section four it's an allowable product under a certain level. I email Serta back telling them this, did they want to reconsider? I call the next morning and request a manager call me back, the kid in customer relations has to be getting this wrong.

I'm at dinner with my family and a guy named Steve head of research and development calls me personally assuring me antimony isn't used in any of his products and he is comfortable with it being in writing. I tell Steve I have to get to the source of my problem and my symptoms started mildly and grew a few months after this purchase. I tell him I will send it to a lab for analysis because if it's not my mattress I have to find the source. He says "do what you have to do" essentially. So I do, Dec of 2014 I get confirmation that it not only had antimony in it but it was 2,000 times over the Chemi pur certified allowable limit and arsenic was over 1,000 times.

After finding that out, I saw a lot more Drs and finally found an amazing Dr who is a neurologist, psychiatrist and an olfactory expert. After literally 8 hours of testing he has determined I have loss of smell, and what's considered brain inflammation or injury both due to extended periods of exposure to these neurological agents in my mattress. I have been about tested for just about everything you could imagine in the attempt to rule out another issue.

After dealing with Drs and trying to find out concrete answers I sent a demand letter for settlement to their management office in the city where they forward all litigation inquiries to Serta. In this letter are copies of the actual reports symptoms my lack of desire to do things through litigation due to the level of stress and time it all takes and requested someone from their office call so we can discuss possible settlement. Not a call, not an email, not a letter, nothing. Absolute crickets. You would like to think a billion dollar industry might actually care about actually permanently injuring one of their customers but they didn't.

I now have what you would call MCS or more likely TILT, which essentially means I was poisoned by a toxic any and my threshold is no longer. So now what's is low level in daily life is often times not manageable for me. I also have lost a good amount of my sense of smell so when something my husband knows will be an issue he will often say "do you smell that" and I don't. They didn't even want to give me my $1900 refund months earlier. I suppose this is why they are worth a billion. The bad news for me is cases like this are so difficult to prove often the federal courts don't allow expert witnesses etc. These are set up to favor the big corporations so they can and do essentially what they want.

I have an email in the the new CEO of SERTA hoping to meet with him for explanation of how his company how mishandled me a person, a customer. We will see if he ever calls back. Every once in a while someone cares to do what's right if they hear or know about it. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be that CEO. In the meantime, I will be creating web pages, social media pages and some other things to get my story out to help people understand the severity of this. Anyone who is immune compromised is subject to permanent damage. I have hashimoto's which millions have. What about autism, asthma, someone who just got done with Chemo, or the elderly? The list is long of people who have potential for further damage to their immune system. I intend on finding these people and hopefully get a class action going at some point. Well... Sigh.

But I chose one less than the original $1200 I paid but no refund (too bad). Eller & Owens even said if I return this one there would be a $250 restocking fee. YEP another way to get more money.

I chose one that was less and yep no refund. Everyone has stood behind the warranty but a restocking fee for a mattress that is defective I don't think so and the I SERIES caving they have a problem as I am not overweight to cause this mattresses to cave. THINK TWICE BEFORE buying SERTA and purchasing from Eller & Owens as it is pay more or pay for restocking. BAD DEAL.

After a harrowing 6 month ordeal with JCPenney, and 2 Sealy mattresses, (I did previous review) I purchased a New set of Serta. The original set I bought was a display, and upon delivery found I received the wrong item (GREMLINS FOLLOW ME?). The store set me up with another set. Again this was a previous season's mattress set and Serta had sold a truck shipment to the store. I was nervous but agreed to the set which was a firm which I was told was comparable. I received delivery, and could not be more satisfied. It has been 8 mos. and I am finally sleeping well and am sold on Serta.

I will say that the previous 6 month experience with Sealy has left me traumatized. I still check how the mattress feels lying down for fear it is at a slope or sagging. I didn't realize this until today when I started to do the review. Consumer affairs sent me an email to let me know about my last report on Sealy. Wonder how long I will have this reoccurring thought, constantly checking my mattress. Some would consult a therapist, would Sealy pay? I think. Not from the other reports I read, they don't even care about their product. BRAVO SERTA!!! You're #1.

The Serta direct sales delivered my mattress set to a local delivery company less than 7 days after I ordered it. The delivery company called with a delivery date 3 weeks later. The delivery company is approximately 60 miles from my location, so my mattress set sits in storage for 3 weeks while I wait for it. Of course, Serta has already gotten its money while I wait. I decided to cancel and was charged a 15% cancellation fee. The delivery company told me via phone a 2-day delivery was possible, all it would take is more money from Serta, blackmail if ever I heard it.

UPDATED ON 10/14/2015: I ordered a mattress and adjustable foundation on Labor Day, 9/6/2015, to start furnishing a room for an invalid. Serta delivered the items to its delivery company on 9/14/2015. I got a phone call from Serta's delivery company saying they could not do the white glove delivery until 10/2/2015. I complained to them about this, stating I needed the items as soon as possible (ASAP). I was told an additional delivery fee could have the items delivered the next day, but that the fee would have to come from Serta, I could not pay it.

On Friday, 9/18/2015, I decided to cancel the order and get the items elsewhere (which I did, delivered six days later). Cancelling the order with Serta was not an easy task. Serta's online cancellation involves an email sent to me with a link to cancel. I clicked on the link only to find my online account was suddenly blocked, when it was not earlier. I received a call from, what I am guessing is, a Serta call center supervisor trying to convince me not to cancel. She got me on a three-way call with Serta's delivery company and the clerk. Confirmed, more money equals faster service. I agreed with the call center supervisor to accept the order if it could be delivered the next day. The Serta delivery manager did not agree and my cancellation stood.

On 10/1/2015, I received a phone call from the Serta delivery driver, about 60 miles down the road, ready to deliver order #**. I informed him the order was cancelled on 9/18/2015, 14-days earlier. I informed Serta online sales of this and was told it would be taken care of. As of today, I still have not received the refund back to my credit card. In one day, it will be four weeks since I cancelled the order. Why? I am on a fixed income and depend on my credit limit. Also, whats up with their bully tactics? I received an email saying refunds are made the day after receipt. I never took receipt of the items, which means they have been in Serta's possession since the day I ordered them.

As s result, I was sliding off the edge of the mattress. Penney's sent out a clown who noted the dips but decided that since in his estimation they weren't 1 inch deep they were just normal wear, and that the warranty didn't apply. Serta agreed with that determination even though it clearly contravenes their warranty. It's ok if I can't sleep on their mattress as long as the foxhole isn't at least 1" deep. I'll never buy another Serta product or anything from Penney's again.

However because the support railing under the bed was not in the exact middle they say they will not cover it. How would a support railing have prevented the seams on the mattress from coming apart is beyond me. Lesson here is don't buy a Serta mattress or any other mattress connected to Serta. Pictures along with $35 were sent for an inspector to come. He told me that we had everything set up properly and that we would get a call on what to do next. No call, no letter, no information available until almost 3 weeks later.

Apparently, it was our support bar that was faulty. Next, we had to purchase a new support bar, send pics and wait… with many promises to receive calls, and never did. Now they want us to pay $150 to get a replacement. Had I have known that I was going to have to go through all this hoopla and pay so much, I would have gone to Big Lots and bought a better one! It has come to this point where my wife refuses to flat out sleep in this bed anymore and I soon personally followed suit. We purchased this mattress for long term use and we have asked the Serta manufacturer to help us make this right especially only after 1.5 years of usage!

Calling customer service, we spoke to Lola and James and they both repeated the same line over and over again: "This is not a warranty concern. This is a problem as your body has changed to this mattress." After going round and round with both customer reps they refused to escalate our case to another manager. Finally, after some time they advised us to go back to the retailer themselves if we were to seek further action. The retailer - Denver Mattress - has been accommodating and has tried to help us out which is great but it is truly sad that a manufacturer would not help or even have a manager speak to us! We will honestly never recommend a Serta mattress to anybody... and we definitely never purchase a Serta Mattress, period! Sadly to say... My husband and I stayed at a hotel in Sedona, AZ for our honeymoon and we fell in love with the mattress that we slept on there. It was so comfortable and it felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. Upon our departure from the hotel, we asked the desk clerk what kind of mattress they had in their rooms. The clerk gave us a 6" x 6" postcard that had details about Serta's Guest Purchase Program that enabled hotel guests to purchase the very same mattress that they slept on at their hotel. We placed our order and received our Serta King Presidential Suite Eurotop mattress, split box springs, and standard metal frame on May 31st, 2012. We were so happy to be replacing our old, worn out Queen mattress set with this amazing cloud mattress. We had the delivery men take our old mattress and box spring.

After about a year of owning the Serta Hotel mattress, my husband started waking up in the morning with stiffness in his back and hips, and not feeling rested. I started waking up multiple times a night, having to readjust myself because I had started experiencing the same symptoms. My husband's side of the bed had started dipping tremendously. I had laid down on his side and I immediately had pain radiating through my lower back and hips because of the lack of support. My husband is 160 pounds and I am 110 pounds, so I would think that our weight would not have been an issue, especially just one year after purchasing this mattress set.

We were also under the impression that this set was a bit better made since it was one that was made for hotels. That is definitely not the case. We even flipped the mattress every three months as recommended by Serta (there are even stickers on each corner of the mattress that remind you when you need to flip… how convenient). My husband and I decided to get a foam mattress topper to see if that would help to alleviate our back pain and the sagging mattress issue. The topper seemed like it was working for a few weeks, but we were right back to square one. My husband and I had had enough. We were constantly in pain, fatigued and our marriage was in turmoil because we were not getting the sleep that we deserved and needed. I went as far as going to a sleep specialist because I was waking up multiple times a night and would literally be falling asleep at work. I was irritable, moody and my production was declining significantly.

In January of 2014, I called Serta to make a warranty claim after owning this garbage mattress for less than two years. A Serta technician came to our home, took measurements and pictures and said that Serta would contact us within a few days with the result of our claim. On February 21st, 2014, I received this letter from Serta:

"In accordance with the terms of our limited warranty, we make every effort to be fair in the replacement of defective merchandise. However, upon review of your claim it is our finding that there are no manufacturing defects. The body impression on the King Presidential Suite Eurotop mattress is a result of normal wear and was measuring at 1" at the deepest impression. There were no defects found with the box springs or frame. While the warranty does not cover this particular problem, be assured the warranty is still in effect for any covered defects. Thank you for the opportunity to address this issue, but regrettably, we will not be able to service this product at this time. This decision has been carefully evaluated and complies with the terms of the warranty."

Seriously Serta? Is this really how you treat your customers? How were you even able to determine that the deepest impression was only 1" deep? From photos and measurements that a " technician" reported back to someone who sits at a desk all day and makes the final decision on whether or not this customer has a valid claim? This is not acceptable, Serta. My husband and I thought we were buying a quality mattress set when we purchased through the Serta Guest Purchase Program. Boy, were we wrong. We have a 10 year warranty on our mattress set and I am not sure why. Our mattress couldn't even make it a year without starting to sag and creating issues for both my husband and I. We thought that having a warranty would protect us when we discovered an issue, but in reality, this warranty only protects Serta.

Since we received the letter from Serta letting us know that they could not do anything for us, we have been sleeping on a Serta Perfect Sleeper Wincroft that we had purchased some time ago for our guest bedroom. This mattress was a third of the cost of our "hotel mattress". Even though my husband and I still wake up with pain, we are sleeping better than we were on our hotel mattress, which is now in our guest bedroom. I am even a bit wary of letting our guests sleep on it because I know they will not feel rested in the morning. I have never been so disgusted with a company in my whole life as I have been with Serta. If you are going to advertise a product as "hotel quality", then at least make it hotel quality. Highly Unsatisfied Serta Customers.

After the first year we recognized discomfort and sagging in the middle but because it's memory foam the sagging is inconsistent. It feels as though we are sleeping on a bowl of jello and we wake up aching from the lower back all the way to the neck and it gets difficult for us to motivate in the mornings. When I submitted my claim to Mattress Firm I spoke to several sales agents and a warehouse manager that explain to me that they quit selling service because there were so many complaints. One salesman even went as far as explaining in detail about how the cooling effect quits working after a few months and then after a year's time it kind of melts and no longer has any effect on comfort.

I agree that there needs to be at a class action lawsuit against Serta because they are not validating their warranty claims and I do believe that this mattress has created significant physical ailments for my wife and I. For the past 6 months we have both been receiving care from a sports medicine physician about cervical and lumbar pain. The medical physicians and the physical therapist explain to us that the mattress that we sleep on is a major contributing factor to our pain. We paid almost 1,600 dollars for this mattress and only got a year out of it before we started recognizing all of our problems. If Mattress Firm or so. Does not validate our warranty and refund us our money. I will be submitting a class action lawsuit against Serta. It was not cheap - it cost us about 1300 for just the mattress. We called and arranged for someone to come and measure our mattress - the report was submitted and eventually we received the report that our mattress was within the "normal" guidelines of impression. The report stated the deepest impression was 7/8 so we could not get credit for a new mattress. We disagreed with this finding but let it go for about 3 months.

During that period the mattress impressions worsened and could visually be seen as a sagging. We called and were sent a home kit. The mattress has an incredible warranty (25 years, I think), but it's all just to sell you the mattress because they won't follow through on any claims. Foam mattresses will start to soften long before they form any depression. Using a weight and a level I can show that the firmness of the mattress varies widely from middle to outer edge, but it's still not enough because the warranty only covers depressions.

Serta wants to charge all these fees after jumping through hoops just to warrant this product. The warranty is 10 yrs! So I'm basically paying 50% of the cost of a cheaply made unsatisfying product. And could very well happen again? This is VERY POOR customer service! Black & white letters mean nothing when you lose customers. The agent didn't even try to ACT a little concerned. I will never buy Serta again. I will in fact put out word that Serta is of low class and a warranty fraud. Very upset that I have a junk product that I can't afford to replace. I purchased a new Serta Perfect Sleeper Brightview king size mattress and box spring in 9/8/2014. It was suppose to be an extra firm mattress. It has started to sink and the company is saying they will not replace it because it does not meet their requirements of 1-1/2 indentation into the mattress. I have a bad back and it makes it worst to sleep in it. I had my husband remove the mattress off the bunk bed and place it on the floor in the den so I can sleep. This mattress is over 30 yrs old and better than what I purchased. I'm very dissatisfied over this mattress and the thought I wasted my money over $1200.00 dollars. I was told I have to wait until the mattress sinks down to their recommendations then they will review the case again maybe.

I called the Serta customer service line as my box broke. It's supposed to have a 10 yr warranty. I purchased the product from Overstock. The Rep was nice but truly unhelpful. Guarantee of the product includes you filling a bunch of forms, taking pictures of the mattresses, the box, the tags and sending the forms along with a 35.00 dollar check for the inspection cost. Once they receive this, they will assign a third party to set an appointment for inspection. If you are lucky and he agrees with you, they will change, but you will have to pay the delivery of the product which is close to 140 dollars. This can take 4 to 6 weeks. Boxes are worth 120 to 140 in the market and the delivery of Serta, including is 24 hours. Is this the way to treat a product defect complaint? Do I need to sleep for 6 weeks on the floor? Don't think so.

We never spent so much on our mattress. We are both over 70 years old and decided to buy the best and enjoy it for the rest of our lives. NOT SO! It started out well and comfortable, but seemed to deteriorate consistently over the next 3.5 years of use. We have gotten to the point that our backs are aching which blocks our sleep. Also, we sink so far down that we can hardly get out of bed when necessary to do so. This mattress has gone from the best to the worst mattress that we have ever experienced. We recently went on a trip and slept in hotels and friends homes, but never had a backache until we returned home. Do not let the price tag make you think that you are getting the best like we did - BIG MISTAKE! The quality of the product is more important than the price tag which is easily deceptive. We have been turned off the name Serta forever.

In May of 2014 we purchased a Serta iComfort Prodigy Queen size bed set Country USA. In a matter of just a few months it began sagging and indenting in the areas where we lay. The bed is like sleeping in jello, we can hardly move or get out of it, plus it sleeps very hot. I have a fused neck, hip replacement and have had back surgery and my wife has RA and SJS. We can't afford to not sleep well. My wife tries to sleep in the bed, but it is so uncomfortable, she almost always moves out to the couch. I suffer through. We spent $2,000 on this bed and are extremely sorry we did. We would be better off buying a $100 mattress and replacing it each year.

At the time of purchase we researched this mattress and found few complaints. Now, there seems to be many more complaints with the same problems we are having. We, too, have rotated the mattress, but to no avail. It just gives my wife my rut and gives me hers, NEVER correcting the problem. We have called the store and they say we have to have a third party come out and see how 'deep' the impressions are. We don't really care how 'deep' they are, we are MISERABLE!!!!! We are stiff and hurting so badly each morning, it takes us a few hours to even begin to get on with our day. We wouldn't be here complaining and fighting for relief if we were happy.

Something should be done about these mattress scams. Taking our hard-earned and/or fixed incomes is a crime in our book. We can return most other consumer goods for a refund or replacement!! We want our money back and/or a new and different mattress. This isn't our first circus with mattress companies. We went through this with Spring Air and Englander. And, how is it that my mother-in-law still sleeps, and gets a good night's sleep, on a mattress over 40 years old!!! Yes, 40 years old!! And they have stated there may be inspection fees with shipping. Serta doesn't care about us, other than to take our money. Perhaps a class action lawsuit would get Serta's attention!

In November of 2012 I purchased 3 Serta Beds. In December of 2013 I was dealing with ** regarding issues with my Novel Queen mattress. She was able to send a gentleman out to my house to look at my mattress and it was determined that there were no issues with my mattress. Over the year, my mattress became worse. You can actually hear the springs jingling when you push on the mattress. I emailed Serta online at the end of December 2014. I never heard back. So I emailed my sales person in Prince George BC and he provided me with a 1-604 number. I then left a message with **, who to this day has never returned my call. Six emails and five voice messages later I was successful in reaching a gentleman named ** who informed me he has lots of messages to deal with. I found him to be quite rude.

Two months I have waited for someone to get back to me. To me I would just have appreciated a more understanding person on the other end of the phone. ** had promised me that someone will be in contact to look at my mattress. My mattress was inspected on February 25th 2015 by Montague. The inspector said I definitively have a warranty issue and that Serta Head office will be contacting me within 10 business days. An angled wire in my bed is broken.

February 28, 2015: My boyfriend and I couldn't sleep on the mattress anymore as it was killing our backs and we would wake up stiff. We decided to purchase a different make of mattress to get us through until the warranty issues of our Serta mattress get sorted out. I called ** on the 12th of March, he said he didn't have my file (another lady did, **) and he would call me back. Never heard from him. On March 19, 2015 in the morning I called and spoke to ** again and he said he doesn't have my file but will call me back. I asked him, "You are going to call me back for sure," and he said he is sorry but he is very busy as he is just part time.

March 19, 2015 in the afternoon I received an email from ** stating that she tried to contact me earlier in the week (I have voice mail and did not receive any messages from her). She told me my claim is denied. She says that because I moved this is where the damage could have been caused. I pointed out that the first time the issue was pointed out I had not moved and that I am appealing my claim. I am quite appalled with this whole process and very disappointed that when told by Montague that my mattress clearly is a warranty issue and then to be declined by Serta. I posted this complaint to the SERTA Facebook page only to get deleted and have a Customer Rep email me to say they will now replace my box spring. How does that fix a broken mattress! I will not recommend Serta to my worst enemy.

I purchased the mattress in April of 2011 and got confirmation of replacement in July of 2013. There was a hump running from head to toe on the mattress. It had sagged where slept on. It was uncomfortable and caused back pain. This mattress set replaced a set we had slept on for nineteen years. We thought it was time to get a new mattress, but are sorry we changed. I submitted another claim in the beginning 2015 as this mattress has a larger hump running head to toe and I get up every morning with back pain.

The Serta Warranty Claims-Western Canada included this note on the letter of claim acceptance re: the high hump in the middle, "Normally not considered a defect, but rather a lack of use. Solution: every now and then they rotate the mattress turn the bed 90 degrees and sleep across the middle - or sleep in the middle more often." That is such a stupid recommendation; for one thing my feet would be off the end of the bed, and secondly I would likely break in half sleeping over the hump. As for sleeping on the hump it would be like having two people in a single bed, at my age -not good.

This is a review for the Serta Perfect Sleeper Bayfield queen mattress. We purchased the mattress 4 months ago. At first my wife and I slept soundly through the night and woke up feeling refreshed. Unfortunately that comfort didn't last. Approximately 3 weeks ago I noticed impressions left on the mattress upon getting up in the morning. At first I didn't think much of it until I started waking up with severe lower back pain. It was so bad, I had difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. The pain would follow me throughout the day, making it difficult to move or sit for long periods. For context, I'm a fit 34-year old male with no history of back trouble. I can only imagine how this mattress would affect an older individual or someone with pre-existing back pain. The sagging has become so bad that I had to fill the hole with towels, then place a foam sleeping pad and inflatable Thermarest pad over top in order to sleep without excruciating pain. All this from a mattress that costs over $2000 (in Canada) and is only 4.5 months old.

To make matters worse, the warranty specifies the impressions must be 1.5" or greater to be valid. Our impressions aren't that depth yet (probably closer to 1") but I can assure you back pain can and will develop with impressions much shallower than that. I'm astounded that Serta willingly produces mattresses of such poor quality. To sell a mattress for thousands of dollars that has a shelf life of 3 months is beyond comprehension. As you can see from other reviews, mine is not an isolated incident. I strongly advise anyone considering a Serta product to look elsewhere.

Bought a Serta iSeries mattress from Sears that was delivered on June 7 of this year, paying $2,499. By October, body impressions had developed on both sides of the mattress requiring my wife to move to the couch due to back problems when sleeping on the mattress. Currently, I am seeing a chiropractor due to problems with my back from sleeping on the mattress. Basic problem is that something below the pillow top either compresses or migrates and the mattress develops "body impressions" on both sides of the mattress. The pillow top with no weight on it maintains the original shape of the mattress, and Serta has cleverly designed its warrant to require measurements to be made calibrating the loss of shape in the pillow top with no weight on the mattress. Once any weight is placed on the mattress, the weight sinks to the bottom of where the gel foam has migrated away from or something else has compressed. Serta seems to be uninterested in researching or resolving this problem and continues to manufacture very expensive mattresses which after several months of use become unusable.

Neither Serta or Sleepy's The Mattress Professional would stand by the warranty, even though the box spring was clearly broken because of poor construction. The way they get around warranty costs is to demand that the tags that were attached at the end of the box spring and mattress MUST STILL BE ATTACHED! Most of these tags are attached along with the manufacturers warranty info and other safety warning cards using only a single plastic shoot-in tagging barb from a tagging gun... Now I ask you, how long do you think those tags and papers will stay on the side of your pieces of bedding. Not to mention that you may want to remove them to get the warranty papers to keep with your receipt. The whole idea is ridiculous. It's virtually impossible to keep the tags intact and attached, therefore Serta and in turn Sleepy's get out of honoring their warranties. They just did some measuring and put this stupid string across each end. And told us there was nothing wrong with it. We just wanted a replacement that was in our warranty and they refused. Because they seen nothing wrong with it. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN will we purchase a Serta. We are getting ready to buy a Simmons Beautyrest.

We purchased a Serta Florence mattress less than 2 years ago. It now has body impressions in it and a ridge in the center that makes this $1200.00 mattress very uncomfortable to say the least. We went back to the dealer and complained and they gave us a ream of paperwork and were told to take pictures in color of every possible angle and also lay mattress on hardwood floor and take pictures and measurements. This is totally ridiculous to ask a consumer to jump through these kind of hoops to validate a so called 10 year warranty. I have a $70000.00 vehicle that I only need to present to the dealer for warranty work. Serta seems that they want to discourage any claims on their warranty by making it extremely difficult to do. I will never buy a Serta product again and will discourage others from doing so. I am even considering parking my truck with the mattress in the back so all their prospective customers will see what they are about to get!

We purchased the Vera Wang Serta Mattress in 2006 and we've been so disappointed with this purchase for many years. Within a very short time the mattress developed a hump in the middle of the bed and the sag while in the bed feels like sleeping in hammock. We sink more than 3-4 inches into the bed and it has been a very long time since we've had a good night sleep. I only weigh 180 lbs and my wife is less than 120. When the inspection was done several weeks ago, the report stated it was 1 1/8....which I feel the results are invalid due to pillow top raising up the measuring tool. I've talked to Serta corporate about our case with no solution in sight. They will not admit this is poor product and the lady I talked to doesn't even sleep on Serta herself. They claim the bed has to be more than 1 1/2 sag to be replaced. This bed has a 10 year warranty but it is not worth the money. Before you buy a Serta, do your research and you will find this is not the bed to purchase. While we were shopping recently at Havertys they wanted to show a Serta and told us they have improved their mattresses, but I will never again make this mistake. BE CAUTIOUS, this product and their Customer Service is poor in quality and you will also be very disappointed!!

We purchased a king size Serta Perfect Day mattress set a few yrs ago. Immediately we noticed some "body impressions", but it was ok. Within about a year, those "body impressions" became much worse and my back began to hurt upon waking each morning. We put up with it for another year until it was so bad that we were becoming miserable. Contacted Serta- they would not help me because I told them there were a few stains on the mattress by now. They should have at least offered to come assess the defect I was complaining about, and attempt to make this right. We paid $1700 for this set, and expected to have a nice quality sleep set for many yrs to come.

So...here I am stuck with a terribly aching back, neck and shoulders each and EVERY day! Those "impressions" are now DITCHES with a hump in between us! It is miserable! (And my husband and I are not big people - he weighs 180 and I weigh 140). There is absolutely no excuse for the condition of this mattress, and I'm appalled at the lack of even any attempt from Serta to solve our problem with their product! Will definitely not ever buy a Serta again.

We purchased the iComfort series about 3+ years ago and were thrilled with how nice and comfortable the mattress was. However, at just under 1 year, we noticed the bed began sagging on both sides where my husband and I slept. My husband is a firefighter and does not even sleep on his side of the bed half of the week, yet his side was measuring at 1 inch sag when the mattress warranty rep came out to check it. My side was sagging at 1.5 inches at the time. The mattress store we purchased the bed from went ahead and exchanged the mattress for the same iComfort at no additional cost to us. Happy to have received a new bed, however now the bed we received just over a year ago is sagging again.

Called the mattress store again and was told I needed to pay the $59 cash, no credit card, to have someone come out again to look at it. The salesman told me to do the string test and see how bad it was. Once again, the mattress is at about .75 inch sag on both sides. However, I do not want to spend the money and the mattress not be "saggy" enough (must have a sag of at least .75 inches for the warranty to be covered). I am so disappointed at how both of these mattresses have worn, even with one side not being slept on for half of the time. We have rotated this mattress to try and even out the sag, but for a 1+ year old mattress, this is horrible. I have had Stearns & Foster and other beds easily last 10 years without showing sagging, these haven't made it past a year.

On Sept. 1, 2014, I purchased a Serta Perfect Sleeper Wincroft Luxury Super Pillowtop California King Mattress from SamsClub.com. Total cost: $900 for just the mattress as I have a platform bed with a good Stearns and Foster 7" foundation. In less than 2 months of sleeping on it, I started experiencing terrible hip pain that kept me up all night. My mattress is sagging so badly that I regret getting rid of my Stearns and Foster that I have had for about 10 years. The reason that I got rid of that is that the foam in that mattress held my body heat and I sweated all night long and woke up drenched. That was a problem from the beginning but I learned to live with it, but since it was 10 years old, decided to replace it. Well, this Serta Mattress is HORRIBLE! I am in so much hip pain and I haven't gotten more than 2 hours at a time of sleep for the past month.

So, just this morning, I finally got in touch with SamsClub.com. They took my info and promptly credited my MC, and are sending someone to pick up the mattress. I am really glad that I dealt with Sams club after reading all of these other complaints about other mattress dealers and Serta giving customer the run-around.

She is 78 years old. How in the hell is she suppose to flip it? She got my brother and nephew to flip it and it didn't help at all. She has tried talking with Badcock and Serta with no conclusion to this problem. They said they couldn't do anything cause it was out of warranty. I think this is awful and that Serta should replace it.

There should be something that can be done about this.. Please advise... So everybody is stuck with these horrible mattresses and nothing can be done about it? Like everybody else... I bought the Icomfort mattress from City Furniture, got the extra warranty for replacement that should cover a defective mattress.... The mattress is sag after 6 months.. It is like sleeping on a hammock, very uneven and we started to get back and neck pain after a horrible night of no sleep... After 3 months calling City Furniture they finally sent their technician today... Guess what? A sag of 1 to 1.5 inches is normal, and that is with nobody laying down on the mattress. You can visually see the mountain in the middle and the 2 sags on the sides but that is normal? So for real, there is nothing that we can do to get this mattress replaced? Please advise. There should be a place to contact and complain about the two companies for not supporting the products they sell... Please advise.

Also, this mattress is NOT 4 Inches. It might say it is 4" but it measures - and feels - like 2". I have had a 4" foam mattress for many years, and was thinking of replacing it. I also have a photo of them both showing the 100% difference in size. EVERY REVIEW SAYS TO BUY A 4" FOAM MATTRESS. THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING, BUT YOUR ADVERTISING IS OBVIOUSLY FALSE. This is my problem: I am 72 years old and had to have someone at Kohl's carry out this VERY HEAVY BOX to my car. Then I had to ask a favor of a neighbor (I am a widow) to bring it upstairs. I am SO NOT HAPPY with this purchase, and I wouldn't know how to bring it back for a refund, as it is too hard to put back in the box. What do I do??? HOW DO I TURN A TORN-IN-6 PLACES (3+ ON EACH SIDE) 2 INCH MATTRESS INTO A 4" ONE??? I AM SO NOT HAPPY!!! MY phone number is **. Please have a rep call me. We call the store and they said they could not do anything about it and I had to call Serta. I did this and to my surprise they came out and measured the indents and they measured 1 1/2" on my husband's side and 3/4 inch on my side. Serta rep said that there was nothing they could do. Now I have a $1000.00 mattress that is worthless and my back is killing me. Sad, but I have been had.

My husband and I purchased the Savant king size icomfort mattress and box spring from Rooms To Go in December 2012. We laid on the mattress in the store testing it for comfortability and of course purchased the mattress. In September 2013 we revisited Rooms To Go and informed them that the mattress had become soft and uncomfortable. After speaking with the manager of the store at length, we decided to try the firmer icomfort. It was recommended to us to try this mattress for at least a month, but we slept on it for a week because it was much too firm for us, so we called the store back to have this mattress picked up and agreed to go back to the Savant. We were sent a new Savant along with a new box spring, however, to date, this mattress has proved to be the same, soft and uncomfortable. The mattress looses its comfort after about nine months to a year. It has caused my husband to have back pains and for me extremely uncomfortable. You should know that we were looking for a good mattress because I had recently had back surgery. We would like to be compensated for this mattress/box spring since we are both dissatisfied with this purchase. Please do not ignore this complaint.

First night sleeping on the new mattress. It felt wonderful and I fell asleep instantly. After just 2 hours I woke up gasping and had to sit up. My chest was tight and I was having trouble breathing. Went into the living room because I could not sleep laying down. It got harder and harder to breathe and I actually held the phone in my hand ready to call 911. By about 5 in the morning I could tell I was beginning to breathe more freely. In the mean time I checked the internet and learned about the toxic "off-gassing".

Had some trouble breathing all day. Next night I lay down again, went right to sleep and was up in an hour and a half this time. In the living room, phone in hand I was in worse shape but managed to relax and force breathe until I began to breathe more easily about five hours later. During that time to try and take my mind off the very difficult to breathe... I checked the internet and learned about the toxic "off-gassing".

That afternoon my breathing tightened and I was getting scared and this time I was in the living room. My wife came home and saw me and immediately took me to the emergency room. I was admitted and given breathing treatments and released several hours later. Two days later... all this time I was now sleeping on the old mattress... I began gasping for air. Back to the emergency room and admitted for pneumonia, the result of the previous intake of the toxic gasses. Spent 3 days there and then followup with a allergy specialist doctor to administer several days of breathing treatments. That was followed by several weeks of lung rehab appointments.

In the mean time the store assured me that if I walked all over the mattress to release the gasses and then aired it for a couple of weeks there would be no more gasses emitted. At $3,000 I gave that a try, but we aired the mattress with 2 Large fans and the window constantly open for 5 weeks. Tried the mattress and slept through the night... but...

By about the third night my back began aching and I was stiff when I woke up. That increased each night till I was experiencing back spasms and the doctor checked me and sent me to a back therapist. There twice a week for 5 weeks, and a return to the old mattress, I am now almost completely back pain free again. I now need to find another mattress that is free of the gasses and then figure out how to get one that will support me like the old 20-year-old mattress.

In 8 months the mattress had sagged 7/8" and now just after 14 months after purchase, we had the consulting company come out again and the sag is 1 1/8". The warranty states that it needs to sag 1 1/2" to be covered buy the warranty. I never would have expected this to happen so soon after purchase. It speaks to the poor craftsmanship of the mattress. I bought my Serta about 4 or 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with Fibro & wanted to upgrade to a bed that was supposed to be the best for comfort & the most restful sleep. I paid $2500 for this mattress. I won't lie to you, the first few months were heavenly. My pain in the morning was minimal & I slept like a baby. I told everyone who'd listen how great my bed was & recommend them to buy one for themselves. My family & friends who "Just had to try it for themselves" LOVED my bed & told me how lucky I was to have it.

Now this bed has become my WORST NIGHTMARE. My bed sags, has divots, is actually lopsided (one side slants towards the floor) & has broken down so much that I sleep better in my $300 WalMart recliner. (That's really saying something.) I have so much pain in the morning that I need help getting out of bed, help to get on my feet & use a walker to my faithful recliner. I wake up at least 3 times per night & don't remember the last time I slept through the night.

I've tried ** & ** & I STILL can't seem to actually sleep through just ONE night. I've since then told everyone to AVOID buying a Serta & at first they thought I was kidding. It took some serious talking to finally get them to see that I was being serious. I say this to anyone researching mattresses & obviously Serta's in particular; RUN AWAY. DON'T LOOK BACK. DON'T SECOND GUESS YOURSELF. You'd be better off spending a little more money on a Tempur Pedic or buying a new "El Cheapo" bed every year in the long run. I am SO disappointed & if I could go back & buy a different mattress I would. Sadly it's going to take me forever to save up the money again to buy a better bed. Maybe by the time my 6 year old goes off to college I'll be able to get this ** replaced.

Per Serta's warranty if the make and/or model of a defective mattress is no longer available, the defective mattress is to be replaced with one of "comparable quality and value" to the model purchased. It is my understanding that the retail price of a mattress is based on the quality and value of the mattress. Serta refuses to replace their defective mattress that I purchased with a model of comparable quality and value. Instead Serta insists on replacing their defective mattress NOT with a model based on the "quality and value" of the mattress model I purchased, but with one of "comparable quality and value" to a mattress model with a price the same as the SALE price I paid for the mattress.

I purchased a Serta Perfect Day Calm Harbor Eurotop Queen mattress set from Sears. The mattress is defective and Sears agreed to replace the mattress in accordance with the warranty. The mattress model is no longer being manufactured; therefore, per the warranty the mattress is to be replaced with a model of "comparable quality and value". Sears, per Serta's instructions, is insisting that I accept the Serta ISeries Vantage or the Merit as a replacement model, both of which are models of lesser quality and value. I have provided Sears and Serta with a number of documents that show that the Serta ISeries Vantage and Merit mattresses are of a lesser quality and value; further, that the Serta ISeries Prominence is a model that is comparable in quality and value to the model I purchased.

However, Sears states that the Serta company has determined which mattress is comparable in quality and value. The only basis that Sears and Serta have articulated as the basis for the determination that the Serta Vantage and/or Merit is comparable in quality and value to the model I purchased is the SALE price that I paid for the model I purchased - which is NOT in accordance with the SERTA WARRANTY. The mattress I purchased, Serta Perfect Day Calm Harbor Queen Eurotop is listed on two separate web sites one of which is Sears Outlet at a sale price of about $2990.00. The Serta ISeries Vantage is listed on Sears.com at a sale price of about $1100.00. The Serta ISeries Prominence is listed on Sears.com at a sale price of about $2300.00. Further, web site Sleeplikethedead.com provides a comparison of the three mattress types, which further shows that the Serta ISeries Prominence model is "comparable in quality and value" to the model I purchased.

Serta manufactured a defective mattress, which I unfortunately purchased. I have been uncomfortably sleeping on Serta's defective mattress for over 12 months; which has exacerbated some of my medical problems. The defective mattress model replacement should be in accordance with Serta's Warranty and as such, based on a model to model, retail price to retail price comparison and NOT the SALE price paid to retail price comparison of the mattresses.
