    On 8-31-14 we purchased a Sleep Number bed from store in our area. We were told it would be 2 week delivery time. Two week passed before we got a call. Our phone # had been put in system incorrectly. Got that straighten out and a date for delivery was set for 9-19-14. We got a call on 9-16-14 that the freight truck had broken down and it would 9-25-14 before they could get our bed to us. Needless to say I wasn't very happy. Got hold of customer service and they gave me a date of today (9-22-14). We got up, stripped bed, moved furniture to get ready for bed delivery. Got another call, not by a person but a recorded message that delivery would be on Wednesday 9-24-14. Called number they gave me to find out what was going on. I was informed that the truck had broken down AGAIN. Give me a break. A company that big doesn't have another truck that can get me my bed.

    Bottom line is they have scheduled me again for Wednesday 9-24-14. If I don't have my bed by this date I'm canceling. My husband wants me to cancel today. Still thinking about it. They did offer to credit me $420. Whoopie. Don't know what is going on with this company. They told me that they sold a lot of beds over the Labor Day weekend so it was taking longer for them to deliver it. NOT MY PROBLEM. I'm spending way too much for this bed to begin with. BEWARE IF YOU BUY A BED AND ARE PROMISED A DELIVERY DATE. They don't have enough trucks running to make the deliveries they promise.

    My 93-year-old mother bought an adjustable Sleep Number bed on August 22, 2011. Less than a month later, the bed failed and eventually the air chamber was replaced. Now there is a big hole where she sleeps, and after trouble shooting with customer service, it was determined that the problem is in the foam and cover. Even though we have worked with the manager of the store, she has not been able to have those parts replaced free of charge. She has gone over and above in trying to solve this issue to our satisfaction. We also have talked to customer service and the supervisor of customer service. My impression is that they are being very hard-nosed and insist the problem is normal wear and tear and not covered under the warranty.

    My mother is a tiny little woman, is healthy, not bedridden, and keeps an immaculate house. There is no way she could have worn this mattress out in less than 3 years! I think the problem is a manufacturer's defect and should be completely covered. Yesterday, we quit fighting customer service and paid for the parts to be sent to my mother's house because right now she is sleeping with quilt batting in the hole and has no other bed in the house she can use. I tried to contact people further up the chain of command with no success and sent a letter to Shelly Ibach, CEO. Since that time, we have waited for a reply from her with no success. Now the bed has failed again. My mother couldn't let it go any longer and went ahead and bought, had to buy another mattress in order to get a good night's sleep.

I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble your mother had with her bed, and the she decided to purchase a different mattress as a result. Defects in our bed are rare, but the ones that do occur are most often found and reported in the first two years of use, which is why we fully cover any replacements due to defects during that period. It sounds like your mother has owned her bed a bit longer than that and she would now in the prorated portion of her warranty, where we're still covering the majority of the cost for any replacements due to defects.

    The day of sale the manager and a sales associate was discussing who was going to get the commission from me. Trying to cheat me out of $450 and stated it was an honest mistake. Lied about the delivery date. It was a busy sales day, Labor Day sale, and the manager never discusses my paperwork to me because she assumed I was listening to the sale next to me. She stated they would deliver in 5-6 days. I was trying another companies' bed and we called them to pick up their bed expecting it to be delivered at least by the sixth day. When I called to inquire about the delivery day they told me, "the paperwork said it would be delivered 14 days after the fifth or sixth day when we called you." Yes that is what the paperwork said but no that is not what was told to us.

    We slept on an air mattress for 10 days and my wife has a bad back. They couldn't hook up the IQ at delivery day. Mailed another IQ and they stated it will take a month to have it set up, and to this day it's not been set up yet! They gave me a $500 discount for the problems and complaints. This is my wife third select comfort. And the unprofessionalism and deceptive practices made a wonderful bed become very distasteful and a very horrible experience.

    After much research, we decided to purchase a Sleep Number mattress on August 23. At the time we purchased it we were informed it would be delivered in about a week. When we were contacted for delivery we were then told it would take almost two weeks and we were scheduled for delivery on Fri Sept 12. We arranged the time off to accept the delivery that we were told would arrive between 3 and 6 PM. That morning we stripped down our old bed, moved furniture and prepared for the bed's arrival. At 12:30 that day we were informed that our bed would not arrive because the delivery was delayed by weather. They further informed us that they had no expected date for the delivery and would have to wait for their call.

    After waiting for two days to be called, we returned to the store to ask for help. The salesperson, Melanie, agreed to contact them the next day and get back to us, which she did. She informed us that our bed had been shipped to the wrong location and they were still trying to get it corrected. She promised us they would contact us within 48 hours.

    Delivery did contact us, though not in 48 hours. They informed us that they wouldn't be able to deliver the bed until Fri Sept 26 or Sat Sept 27 because they had no one going out our direction and had to arrange for a technician. Also, they wouldn't be able to confirm which day it would be for another week. We again contacted the store for assistance. Melanie again called and was told they scheduled us for Wed 24 Sept (which they hadn't informed us). We are now waiting yet again to be contacted by delivery to find out what day and time we should expect delivery.

    I am now extremely worried that this may be an omen of things to come. If we need a replacement part for the bed, will we need to sleep on our sofa for 2 to 4 weeks while we wait for a part to be delivered? We are certainly questioning our choice of mattresses at this time.

    I purchased the 2 queen size blankets and 2 firm support down alternative pillows. The pillow got noticeably flatter in less than 3 months. The blanket is disappointing because it requires special care and a front loading washer. I have a conventional washer. Customer service call wait time was excessive: 25 mins. to speak to a man with an accent who was difficult to understand. I asked to speak to a supervisor. That wait time was excessive: 15-20 min. He hung up on me as I was explaining my disappointment with Sleep Number's lack of customer support for bedding products. Not only are they expensive, they are not worth it at all! LL Bean stands behind everything they sell. So does Lands End. Since Sleep number knows they have problems with these two products, they should refund the customer's money. I paid $309.13 for 4 items that are not worth $40. I feel ripped off! It has totally changed my opinion of Sleep Number!

    We ordered and paid for our Sleep Number bed over 5 weeks ago. We still don't have the bed. The first delivery date was Sept. 20. We had the spot all cleaned out for the new bed, which was supposed to be delivered between noon and 3 p.m. Of course we planned our whole day around the delivery of the bed. My husband and I, both with bad backs, had to disassemble and move our sleigh bed in order to make room for the Sleep Number bed. At 12:30 on the day we were scheduled to get the bed, they called and said our bed wasn't coming and they didn't know when it would. They also said they didn't know where our bed was because it never made it to the "hub".

    So after numerous talks to Customer Service as well as our store salesman, we still have no bed on today, Sept. 19. They called two days ago and said they had our bed in Austin, and could deliver it on Wednesday, Sept. 24. I told them that we work and can't take a day off work not knowing if they were really going to show up or not, not to mention having to disassemble that sleigh bed all over again after we already disassembled and re-assembled it once. I wanted them to accommodate my schedule by delivering the bed on a Monday when I'm off work. But of course, they don't deliver on Mondays. I have talked to two different representatives this week, each saying they will see if they can get the bed delivered on a Monday, but so far, neither of them has come through for me.

    I had read all the bad reviews about the shoddy customer service and delivery practices that Sleep Number is apparently famous for, but I was stupid enough to think "It won't happen to us". Well, it did. These people are a joke. If I did my job the way Sleep Number does, I would have been fired a long time ago. I guess if people keep buying the beds, they can keep doing things this way. I'm both angry and disappointed. We have spent thousands of dollars on this bed, and nothing to show except a lot of stress and a great big runaround. Sleep Number... I wish I had never walked into your store.

    We purchased a bed from Sleep Number and were told by the sales rep that I should have it within two weeks of my purchase date. All of your literature and your website states the same thing. We purchased it on 1 Sept 2014 (Labor Day). Today is 19 Sept and we have yet to receive a call to schedule a delivery date. My spouse and I have called numerous times and spoken to supervisors that were absolutely no help at all. We have been told that we should be receiving it around the first week of Oct. This is completely unacceptable. We have not even had the opportunity to sleep one night in our new very expensive bed (I am a Soldier who must stretch every dollar so this was a special purchase for us) and we are already dissatisfied with the Sleep Number process. If this is what being part of the inner circle is going to be like, we prefer to be outside of the circle. We are hoping that someone that can actually make a decision to help a new customer would reach out to us and explain why we do not have our bed and no one in your customer service has been able to help us. I bet, if I take this to Facebook and Twitter I will find that we are not the only ones that have had this experience with Sleep Number.

    I have been waiting for almost three weeks for my mattress. When they finally called and gave me my date it was the same day as my daughter’s sweet 16 party. I specifically said please make the delivery in the morning. I got the call today to confirm my deliver time of 3 pm to 6 pm right as her party is starting. When I called to asked to have it changed they told me that I could not and they did not have any other dates available for delivery period as they are booked up as far as their calendar shows. After being on the phone with multiple people for hours they finally told me I could have a delivery date of 2 OCT. I purchased my mattress the 23 of AUG. As much as this mattress cost me I should not have to wait this long to sleep on it.

    Everyone on the phone has been more than polite, but the service I am receiving is so subpar I could never recommend this mattress to someone as I am so frustrated with my service I have received from this company for a mattress I have not even slept on. If one more person say "I am sorry you are having issues let me look into this for you" to put me on hold for 20 min to all come back with the same answer. I am not sure any mattress is worth the headache this company has given me thus far. There is a serious issue with the distribution system for these mattresses and with all the complaints here on Facebook and everywhere else, I worry about the support I will get for their so called great warranty as the standard script for the company seems to be pass a person around till they cannot stand it anymore.

    Customer Service is the worst that I have experienced in the furnishing of my previous and the current three homes I now own. Once the sale was made I was pretty much left to my own devices. I had to wait one month to get an idea of when it would be actually delivered and once it was delivered, the concept of home delivery was lost by the salesperson. After the sale, the salesperson was rude, condescending, and implied I was some sort of thief for making a claim for the service that was promised at the store. If this sales and lack of delivery experience is an indication of the product quality and warranty, this will go down as the worst purchase I ever made. I will make sure everyone I know is aware of this experience.

    There was no problems at all with anything “in-store”. The problems which ultimately led to the cancelling of this order are all related to the communication break down and utter unacceptable conditions surrounding the “delivery”.

    Original delivery date was set for August 27th with the window starting at 10 am - just prior to this delivery window, my wife received a call that the delivery technician was sick and no one else could set up the bed (I guess the Sleep IQ is very sophisticated and there is only one technician in the area that can set them up). This wasn’t a huge deal, it was inconvenient as I had already dismantled our bed that morning to clear the way for the new one. So I set my old bed back up. People get sick, no worries. The problem arose from the fact that when the delivery cancellation was made to my wife, she was told that someone would be in contact with her within 24 hours to reschedule. 24 hours would have been before 10 am on Thursday, that time came and went. Friday at 10 am came and went. I called the local store to see what the problem was and if I could just pick up the bed myself and set it up. I was told that wasn’t possible as the Sleep IQ had to be set up by a technician, but that he (**) would check into it.

    We get home Friday evening and a message was left at 4:50 pm that we were rescheduled for delivery on Tuesday September 2nd (I don’t recall the time). My wife and I both work during the week, during the day (she typically has Wednesday off, but not always). That 24 hour reschedule notification - right at 54 hours, great customer service there.

    I’m back on the phone to **, Tuesday won’t work what is the problem? He said he’ll email and check. No definitive answer from ** on Saturday, he suggests I call the delivery service and see if they can accommodate a change in delivery. I’m on the phone with delivery explain the situation, that Tuesday won’t work and we need Wednesday. The lady I spoke with said no openings “sorry”. I am less than thrilled at this point and explain to her that they cancelled on us and didn’t make contact for over 48 hours and they should be willing to make some accommodation to get us our bed, Wednesday after 12 would work. Her response, after me being on hold for some time, was “sorry, nothing we can do - do you want to keep Tuesday?” I told her no, to cancel Tuesday as no one would be home and that if this couldn’t be resolved that I would have to consider cancelling the order altogether. Again, her response, “sorry, nothing we can do”.

    Back on the phone with **, he says he will check into it and I ask him to call me back whether he gets any answer or not. He does call me back to let me know he hasn’t heard anything from delivery (I’m seeing a pattern on where communication breaks down - the delivery side). We get home from out of town on Monday and there is a message from delivery that they will be there on Wednesday after noon and that they will call the day before with a better time frame (great, it has been a little inconvenient but the guy got sick it will work out after all). We are given a time frame of 2-5 and they will call a half hour before coming. Guess what, that delivery window opened and closed. At 510 pm we were told we were still on the list, it could be as late as 8 pm - IF there were no problems with the delivery before ours! I’m pretty sure that the delivery service didn’t just start making schedules yesterday, so I am very confused as to how it could have gotten that messed up? My wife had an appointment in the evening and I had to run our children to evening activities, so sitting around staring out the front window hoping that the bed fairy would finally come wasn’t an option. Again, poor communication and unfulfilled appointments.

    I had a couple of conversations with ** in the midst of this. After the last call telling us that it could be as late as 8, if everything worked out, I contacted ** and told him I wanted to cancel the order and that I would return the mattress pad, sheet set, comforter and duvet set to the store. He informed me I would have to contact customer service to cancel the bed and provided me the number. I called and cancelled with customer service, who of course tried to convince me - after putting me on hold for at least 10 minutes - that we were next, not to worry. I wasn’t buying that line anymore. The order was cancelled, around 6 pm or so. I returned the bedding items to ** at the store. Now the funny part. I don’t know if this is delivery service or the delivery technician or both not communicating with each other, but he (Craig) called at 750 pm and left a message that he was 20-30 minutes out depending on traffic?!?!?! Are you kidding me? A 2-5 delivery window that is now after 8 pm, AND has been cancelled?! I didn’t get back home until after 9 pm, so I have no idea if he actually showed up or not.

    I believe we have had our current Sleep Number bed for about 9 years? We love it, my wife likes a soft mattress and I sleep better on a firm mattress. We have both been quick to recommend the brand to others and extoll the benefits of the system. After this debacle, I will no longer be able to, in good conscience recommend the brand to anyone. The pathetic communication (or lack thereof) and blasé attitude of “there’s nothing we can do” (by those on the delivery side) is entirely unacceptable. Regardless of the amount of money involved, this is one of the worst examples of customer service I have experienced in all my life. I’m not expecting anyone to bend over backwards for me, but when you cancel, don’t call back when you say you are going to, make an appointment without calling to see if that will work, then say it can’t happen, then make an appointment, and that appointment isn’t kept but might work out just keep sitting around and waiting - we might get to you - if not we’ll reschedule - that all adds up to a collective disrespect to me, the customer.

    A little perspective. After we ordered this bed, we decided to get new bedroom furniture. I made a platform for the bed with drawers underneath for storage. I designed, went and bought rough lumber. Planed the lumber down, assembled, sanded, stained and polyurethaned the entire platform, built 4 drawers and moved this into my room. My full size sleep number is now resting on a queen size base. Our antique bedroom suit is being passed on to my son, so we sold his bunk bed and dresser. But we can’t deliver it to our friends who bought it because we can’t set up our old sleep number mattress and bed for him because now we have no mattress.

    In hindsight I should have avoided the Sleep IQ so I could just set it up myself and not have to depend on the delivery service. It is truly a shame that this portion of your company is allowed to operate like this and to cause such a problems and poor service to customers. I don’t expect this to get any resolve or response for that matter. But I refuse to spend my and my wife’s hard earned money with an entity (or section of an entity) that is so disrespectful to customers.

    Bought a Sleep Number bed on 9/2. Scheduled delivery for 9/12. They called and cancelled delivery. Rescheduled delivery for 9/17. Just called and cancelled delivery again. Delivery has not been rescheduled at this time. Looking for an alternative to the Select Comfort - Sleep Number bed.

    First let me say I find it humorous that not of the complaints and been addressed but praises have been responded to. Less than 24 hours before receiving our bed we received a call saying it wouldn't be there and it would actually be another week before they could deliver. We were told "they didn't know where it was" after shipping from the factory and it didn't reach the hub. Most trucks have satellite dishes on them now so businesses know exactly where their trucks are any moment of the day or night (My husband was in trucking for 35 years). I asked to speak to customer service but they wouldn't take my call. The delivery rep said they would just transfer the call back to him. I just looked at SN's Customer Service Site. We weren't offered Standard Delivery and I want to know why. I can do this myself with my husband.

    Ordered our bed on 8/29/2014. Today is 9/16/2014 and we have not received the bed or even shipping information. We have called several times and today was told that the bed was scheduled to be made. This is for my mother-in-law and we explained it was important as she was getting out of rehab facility and needed the bed. The original order was written up by the salesman with the wrong shipping address. We called the day we received the copy of the order and informed them of the correct address for shipping. The person we spoke with assured us this would not delay delivery and we told them that we could accept delivery at the original address if this would speed up delivery. Almost 3 weeks and still no bed or no delivery date and Mom has to sleep in a chair. VERY poor customer service. On the bright side we have a Sleep Number bed we have been enjoying for the past 7 years with no problems.

    Bought a P5 Flextop king Aug 26th plus a Flexfit 1 base with 2 remotes. After a few days home delivery called and set up delivery for Sep 10. Morning of Sep 10th rolls around and the person that I’m giving my mattress to comes and picks up my mattress. Shortly after, home delivery calls and cancels delivery (due to a shipping issue). I don’t complain I just say okay and the person informs me someone will call later that day to arrange delivery. I naturally assume they will be delivering next day. The day rolls on and no one from Sleep Number or home delivery call me back. On Thursday the 11th, I call the home delivery number at 8:00 am Central Time. I explain my situation and the guy says "well let’s get that delivery set up then." He informs me that now the soonest delivery date is the 26th of September. I tell him that is not acceptable. He told me he's sorry but that’s as soon as he can schedule it. I tell him not to schedule it - I will contact the store I purchased from.

    I called store 547 in Tyler Texas at the Broadway Square Mall and ask to speak to Keith my salesperson. He isn’t in but the woman asks if she can help. I explain my situation as well as another situation. The salesperson accidentally ordered the wrong size sheets for my bed. She corrects the sheet problem and says she'll have Keith contact me when he gets in. Around 3:00 I call back and Keith answers. I ask if my problems have been resolved and at first he acted unaware of them. When I refreshed him on the situation he said, "yes we have your sheets ordered" and he would call over to home delivery and have my bed delivered on Friday. I never heard anything back from anyone with Sleep Number after that on Thursday.

    On Friday I start calling again. I call the store and spoke to multiple people at Sleep Number on Friday. Now they are offering to deliver my bed on Sep 19th. I agree to set up delivery for then but ask to have a supervisor call me regarding a free dual temp layer for my trouble. Again remember I’m sleeping on the floor of my bedroom because Sleep Number didn’t deliver my bed when they promised they would.

    Finally on Monday the 15th, I call and cancel my order when I’m offered 600 dollars off on my mattress and 10% off of a dual temp layer. When I canceled my order, I requested a confirmation of cancellation be sent to my email. It took three phone calls to Sleep Number to get a cancellation confirmation that finally came into my email after 9:45PM CST. At around 10:45 PM CST I received a shipping notification from Sleep Number regarding my new sheets to be delivered.

    On Tuesday the 16th I call Sleep Number again to cancel that delivery as well since the man I asked to cancel that delivery the day before failed to do so. I also requested again the dual temp layer for free and was refused. I was then transferred to CEO **'s office where I left a voicemail concerning how I felt I had been treated as a customer.

    ** didn’t return the call but a Shanta **(pronouced Shontay) returned my call. She voiced apology just as every other person at Sleep Number did but was of no help to me either offending me by again offering a discount on the dual temp layer of 1500 dollars as well as a 600 dollar discount on the mattress and 200 dollar discount on the base.

    I told her that was a joke because all she was asking me to do was pay more money than for something I still didn’t have. I told her I was willing to pay full price for the mattress and base because I had already financed the mattress and base but paid off the next day when I decided I should have just paid for it in full and that I was asking for less off by just asking for the dual temp layer. She said there was no way they were giving away a 1900 dollar product for free. So I posed the question and ask her to deliver to ** for me, what's it worth to ** to sleep on her floor for ten days because Select Comfort failed to deliver their bed as promised...

    Sleep Number called 4 times and sent two emails confirming delivery, then day of delivery they call and say that it won't be delivered today. After paying for delivery they need to stick to the agreed upon date; people have jobs and lives to take time away from. Being rude when asked why delivery is being missed, and stating they won't compensate for the missed delivery leaves a bad taste. Reading other reviews here where the negative far outweigh the positive, including everyone here having troubles getting refunds is seriously making me consider canceling my order outright (I've received nothing so far), and doing a reversal on the CC for the FULL amount of purchase, shipping and all. It seems as if the product sold isn't going to be what's delivered.

    We purchased an expensive Silver Edition Sleep Number mattress in 2012. I called customer service as our bed foam, mattress topper and mattress cover have colored yellow and emit an odor. The Supervisor told me this was the first she had heard of this problem and offered no help. After talking with her for 20 minutes, the best she could offer me was to hang the foam, mattress topper outside. She stated bodies sweat and this is the result of sweating.     I bought a queen sleep number bed on Sept 4. The salesperson said I live in the extended delivery area and someone would call to set up the delivery. This was done and my bed was to be delivered on Sept 11. On that day, I received a phone call that my bed would not be delivered due to a delivery technician called in sick and someone would call with a new delivery date. After I received the next call, a day later, I find out that I cannot get my bed delivered until Sept 20. I am 66 years old with a bad back, and now I am sleeping on an uncomfortable sofa for over two weeks due to the delivery fiasco. If you cannot deliver on time in the extended delivery area, you shouldn't sell to that area. I would cancel my purchase, but the time has passed so I cannot do that. I am left without a bed because my old bed was given to someone else two days before my original delivery date. It seems to me that if you have to cancel a delivery due to an employee problem, you should deliver the next day. Not eight days later!

    Two months ago I ordered a sleep number bed for my vacation home, top of the line. The bed was delivered on time but the sideboard/headboard was broken so the delivery team would not install as it was defective. They assured me it would be sent as a rush order and home delivery would send asap. Got the call that my defective parts were ready for delivery and I flew to my vacation home to have it installed. One hour before delivery they called and said no delivery as the components were still in a warehouse as they were sent to the wrong state and city.

    Now this is bad, except this is the second time they called me to set up delivery and then called and said "sorry we sent to wrong place". You have had my 12,700.00 for three months. I want my bed, complete. I called the local office many times and said I have paid and expect my complete bed and all I get is sorry. I asked for the model on the floor, and reply is "I don't think we can." Well this is not right and I will get justice as I am out 2800 mile round-trip and a blown weekend. Sorry is not the right answer. My money back plus money for my wasted trip is a start. As I am here ONLY to let the Home Delivery People in. Again this is the second time that Sleep Number has said "we sent to wrong place".

    My mattress on the zipper part the material is coming apart. Then the sponge mattress under that has rips in it. I called the Sleep Number representative and he said I should pay for it. I talked with his manager and she said the same thing. These beds are expensive, well over 2,000.00 especially the one I purchased and they act like you paid $10.00! Not like you can flip it over either. I will NEVER, EVER purchase another bed from them. They have immature young kids that don't care about their customers.

    Very expensive sheets for Expanded Queen, 6" wider than Queen. They changed the size of the mattress. The 7000 model is now I8, which is a deeper mattress. Tried 4 types, hanging 6" over the sides are making the mattress bow up. Finally after going back and forth and returning, receiving, and returning, had to use a Queen in their Lyocell sheet. The representative mentioned that my bed was 10 years old, I thought the product lasted for at least 20 years. Why did they stop making sheets for my bed? This was a nightmare, almost had to sew to then fit. I don't have time for that. Rep. said no one else had a problem. Well I guess I am the only one with a 7000 model Odd Ball size. THE SHEETS DON'T FIT!!!!!!!! ! MY BED!!!!!!

    Several years ago I had a sleep number bed in Buffalo New York, moving furniture to FL was expensive so we sold our home furnished and bought new furniture in Port Orange FL. However, the sleep number store was about 50 miles away and the furniture store sales person was persistent and we bought a Sterns and Foster mattress. It lasted about 3 weeks, I could not sleep soundly, tossed and turned all night long and woke up every morning with aches and pains.     My scheduled delivery was today. After waiting for my bed to be delivered today between the hours of 10 - 1 pm and no delivery happened, I contacted customer service and was told that they had left a voice message informing that there was a "freight delivery delay" which I did not receive a voice message. Now I am without a bed, because I cleared my bedroom for my delivery today. Now I do not have a bed for 7 days until rescheduled delivery next weekend. This is not a good way to start building customer confidence. If Sleep Number had the freight delivery problem they should have made more of an effort to contact me, or offer a temporary bed since it was their problem. I'm pretty upset.

    I ordered bed 2 weeks ago. I received numerous annoying calls acting like they cared about me. Delivery was set up for 3pm. Driver called me 9:30 am told me everything was on schedule. Then 1PM told me it was looking more like 5-6 PM. Still excited to get my new bed, I had neighbors toss my old bed in garbage because I am handicapped. Then 7PM driver told me he was running late and would be here at 9PM. But at 8:30 driver called and asked if he can come at 10:30. I have no bed so I agreed. Then at 9:30 I get call from woman from customer care and tells me NO ONE WILL BE HERE TONIGHT WITH MY BED, and I need to reschedule for next week!     My husband and I went to the Sleep Number Store located in Ohio at The Greene. The staff there was very nice and took time to answer our questions. We were able to try out one of the models which was fun. We looked at a book to pick out the options we wanted and we set up delivery. The men that showed up to set up our bed and take away our old bed were nice and cleaned up any mess there was. The service was great and there was no pressure to buy things we could not afford at the time. As for the bed, my husband and I love it.

    We both have back problems and my husband has sleep apnea and since we bought our bed his snoring is not as bad and we wake up feeling like we slept well. It's nice being able to adjust the softness of the bed for my side because we have different numbers. I am glad we made this purchase. I don't sleep with a mountain of pillows anymore and I think I sleep more sound.     I have the i10 bed in queen on the adjustable base and I have had nothing but trouble with it since I've had it and it's only been 18 months. Every few months I discover that the memory foam pads are shredded right across the middle where the mattress bends when the head and feet are raised. It's like clockwork. Every few months I have to call for replacements. Sleep Number has been good about sending out new foam pieces but nobody is able to offer a long term solution. The answer is always "sorry about that" but no attempts have been made to permanently fix the problem. A big problem also is that the 100% coverage warranty expires after 2 years and then I will have to pay a percentage to get replacement foam which seems outrageous to me since this is obviously a defect or weakness in the foam the company is using.

    The pillow top filling has also bunched up (won't shake out) in precisely this same place but Sleep Number won't do anything about it. They call it "normal wear and tear". On a bed that is a year and a half old? I hardly think so. The cost to replace the pillow top is in the thousands. Obviously the padding in and on this bed was poorly engineered in regard to its durability against the bending of the mattress on the adjustable base. This bed was more than $6,000 and should not be performing so poorly after such a short period of time. I'm VERY unhappy with the performance of this bed given the cost and would never recommend it to anybody else. In fact, I would strongly recommend against it. Sleep Number needs to extend my memory foam 100% replacement for the life of this bed if the foam is going to shred every few months like this. I'm a VERY unhappy customer.

    We bought the bed approx 1 year ago. It started to sag the second week we had it. I complained and they sent me a new foam topper that didn't work then they sent me a couple of foam inserts to place under the air cells that doesn't work either.     Very disappointed in the return policy! We purchased our Sleep Number in July and we up sold to the adjustable base. Had to wait weeks for it to be delivered. My husband use to sleep all the way through the night. Not anymore. Ever since we've had the bed, we both wake numerous times throughout the night. Also, we both are waking in the morning feeling not rested and sore. So frustrating. We knew within the first 5 sleeps, we were not satisfied and wanted to return it.

    Made the phone call...they won't even generate a return claim until you have had the bed for 30 nights. Not looking forward to being stuck with for a few more weeks. Actually started sleeping in the guest room because we were so uncomfortable on the SN. So I waited out the 30 nights and called again to move forward with the return.

    I'm fine with paying the $199 to have it shipped back. We will gladly pay that to be done with this bed. But the problem is the adjustable base is NOT returnable. What!?! The salesman mentioned several times how we had 100 nights and if we weren't happy, we could send it back. I was transferred to a supervisor who was kinda rude about it. Would not work with us at all! Paid over $8000 for this fancy cot and they will only return the mattress for $3000. So basically we are stuck. Very disappointed. I will not recommend Sleep Number. In fact I will do my best to make sure I tell everyone how awful they are and how the tricky fine print is BS!

    We bought our Sleep Number mattress for our sailboat. It was a terrible investment as the bed will not hold the comfort setting throughout the night. I wake up in pain every morning. My husband’s side loses air while mine gets firm (like a slab of cement). I have been told by customer service that the bed will fluctuate by 15 to 20 because of air temp, barometric pressure, etc. Well, if it is acceptable to change by that degree why bother spending a lot of money on a bed that doesn't work. Bad investment.

    We shopped and shopped and shopped for a new bed. We were wary of the prices at the Sleep Number store. After being somewhat price conscious, we bought a new, memory foam bed from another store and quickly discovered both of us had aches and soreness each morning.     Before we purchased our Sleep Number, we tried several different mattress types and companies. The results were always huge dips in the mattress and having to climb out of a hole every morning with achy joints and sore muscles. Now that we have a Sleep Number, we are sleeping better... much better. Because of how the Sleep Number is designed, there are no dips... unless, of course, your Sleep Number is 20 or below - but, unlike innerspring mattresses, the dips wouldn't be permanent.     After researching mattresses, it came down to a Sleep Number and a Tempur-Pedic. Considering the investment we were making, we wanted a quality product, the cost needed to equate to value, great customer service and ease of placing an order with no hassle and attempting to add on other things if we said no. We got all that and more. Sleep Number exceeded our expectations. What it also did was give us the much needed sleep we were not able to get with prior mattresses. We don't wake each other up when turning onto our side. We experience less pain when waking up. And more importantly, we can change our number anytime we want based on our changing needs without affecting each other. I have recommended all my friends and family to make the investment-- it's worth it!

    This is our second Sleep Number bed. We had our first one for 14 years. It still was in great shape but we needed some options that are now available. We needed to be able to change the position of the bed to accommodate some health issues. My husband's snoring and his coughing (due to his Parkinson's Disease) had driven me to moving to the couch at different times during the night. We found the position that is perfect for him to alleviate his sleeping issues and I can get a great night's sleep. Plus the nightlight provides the opportunity for one of us to stay up and read while the other person can sleep. Love this bed. What a change to our lives!

    BUYER BEWARE!!! WHAT THEY FAIL TO MENTION IS THE $200 + IN FEES TO SHIP THE BED BACK TO THEM IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE BED. TOTAL COST TO TRY OUT THEIR BED = $395!!!!! The customer service lady at Sleep Number said that I could use their $30 UPS labels to ship the items back, but it would take at least 4 labels at a cost of $120 plus the cost of buying boxes, packing the items, and then taking them to UPS to ship back to Sleep Number. They took away the original boxes when they delivered our bed. Horrible situation. THE LOCAL SLEEP NUMBER WILL NOT TAKE YOUR BED BACK. THAT IS WHY THEIR STORE IS SO SMALL!!! Sleep Number was very up front about the $179.99 Home Delivery/Set up/Removal fee for the initial delivery of the new bed and removal of the old bed. This is what it "sounded" like it was going to cost me to try out their bed, NOT $395!!!!

    We needed a new mattress and over the course of a year, we bought and returned three, each progressively more expensive. Our daughter finally told us to try Sleep Number. "Pricey," she said, "but worth it." She had been sleeping on one for several years.

    We went to the Asheville Mall store and were greeted by a sales woman who introduced us to the various levels of comfort and cost, at the same time drawing us out as to why we had come to Sleep Number and what we felt we needed.

    She spent at least an hour and a half with us and we left knowing we had the information we needed to make a choice of which of the beds we would order. The next day, we ordered the bed we have been using for the past several months. It is more than we hoped for and meets all expectations. A most wonderful buying and sleeping experience.

    My husband and I purchased the Sleep Number bed because of his back pain. I was not too sure about it but once we got it and slept in it, I changed my mind. My husband's back pain is gone and I noticed I get a better night's sleep with it. If he does experience back pain, he either raises or lowers the number depending on where it is and it feels better the next day. You cannot do this with a regular mattress. I love it and I will never get another bed!

    Paid $1600 for Sleep Number bed that is now $599. Got bed in 2012. Had issues with bed early on. Call and complain. Call many times after that to tell them that I'm not get good night sleep, have neck and back problems when wake I up. They told me to adjust number, to try this, try that, "we send you new pump", "send you padding", put in zipper, put rug tape under mattress. Nothing has work. Call the credit card company. All do is put off early on when you get the bed so you can't return it after the return warranty has expired then stuck paying for bed that is junk and not get good night sleep.

    This has to be the worst bed we've ever slept on and the worst company with shady policies we have ever dealt with. Be prepared to be out money should you buy the bed and then more than likely hate it.

    Things you need to know that will not be explained to you:

    100 Night Trial: If you decide you do not like your bed you are required to keep it for 30 days before you can begin the return process. This does not include time it will take for them to find an appointment convenient to their schedule should you want them to pick the bed up, so you could be stuck with your bed for two additional weeks after that. You will be responsible for shipping your bed back. Your choices are pay them an additional $199 dollars for them to come get your bed. The other two options (which I'm not sure how they are options) is to box it up and ship it back yourself, or box it up and use their UPS labels which of course is at your expense. Your bed gets delivered in about a dozen boxes so not sure how they expect a customer to ship it back themselves.

    Exchanges: You are also responsible for the shipping cost of your exchange. Rumor has it if you exchange you would no longer have the option of returning after that. We disliked our bed so much we didn't want to take a chance on upgrading to the next model.

    Bedding 30 Day Exchange: If you decide to buy bedding and the mattress pad for the 10 year warranty, be warned that they are non-refundable. Both will cost you about $200. What will you do with a $200 mattress pad if you return your bed you ask? You either eat the cost or EXCHANGE it for another bedding item. You can exchange it for a lesser costing item and get the difference refunded, but you will never get the full price back. The sheets are horrible and not worth the cost to begin with. The corners stay on the bed but there's too much friction between the pad and the sheets so they ride up the sides and bunch all over the bed. Total waste of money.

    On to our experience. We were looking for a bed that would suit both our comfort needs as well as have a cooling effect. We tried every model in the store and ended up picking the i10 for the foam inserts and the temperature balancing claims. The sales woman talked us into getting the cool comfort sheets as well as the 10 year warranty mattress cover. We also sprang for Sleep IQ. At that point we had no inclination that we would be returning this bed. Throughout the process it was mention that we have the 100 night trial and can return or exchange within that time. Never was it mentioned that we would be responsible for additional shipping or that the bedding specifically bought for the bed was non-returnable.

    It took a little over two weeks for our bed to be delivered. The guys who set it up were nice and show us how to use it. It was all downhill after that. First night was the worst. We both set the bed to our sleep number that was determined in the store. I was a 40, my husband a 45. The minute he came anywhere near my side of the bed the whole middle caved in and canoed. There was no support or contouring of the air pocket, it was like sleeping on an incline. Even when were stayed on our respective sides, it just felt like we were sleeping on a cheap (but expensive) air mattress. There was no back support, it was just a partially deflated mattress with little foam separating you from bottoming out. We don't recall this being an issue in the store, the entire bed felt different in the store, more foam like, nothing like the one delivered. Oh, and the air pockets squeak if you move around a lot, as well as the base. Never had that issue prior to this bed.

    The mattress pad and sheets left something to be desired. They don't stay on the bed, they move around when you roll over and by the morning are completely bunched in the middle of the bed. The corners stayed, but the rest was a mess. I did my best to tuck the sides under the bed with no luck. They also did not feel cool or temp controlling like the samples in the store and after the first wash felt flimsy. The first night I woke up sweating with only a sheet and a light summer blanket that we used on our prior bed. No clue where this temperature balancing was to come in, but I certainly was not experiencing it.

    The Sleep IQ is good in theory, however, if you get out of bed and lets say your partner likes to sprawl out half way on your side, the results get completely messed up. My husband worked from home one day so he stayed in bed later. I usually average 6.5 hours of rest and am in bed for no longer than a total of 7-7.5 hours. When I looked that evening it said I had slept for 9.5 hours which ruined my Sleep IQ score for the night. Clearly its not that accurate, so whats the point in having it? A FitBit can do relatively the same thing and you know the data is on the person who's wearing it.

    We ended up deciding we cant wait the recommended 4-6 weeks they claim it takes people to get used to the bed. I cant imagine why it would take that long and why they would expect someone to sleep in a bed that gives them back pain rather than relax and comfort them. The caving in while cuddling or no support isn't going to change in that time.

    I'm completely disgusted with the entire experience. Never being told the detail of the trial or bedding purchase is a pretty despicable practice for a company so well known. I wish I had found the Consumer Reviews prior to my purchase, it would certainly have made the decision to not make this purchase an easy one. Dont get sucked into the hype, the product is good in theory but horrible in reality. Customer service was as to be expected. Someone reading from a script, unwilling to be sympathetic to you needs or frustration. Not willing to budge on shipping cost. Repeating the same lines over and over again. Letting you know you should be grateful there's only a return shipping fee and not a restocking fee on top of it. Yes, I was seriously told that.

    For the money spent, I expected more. Do yourself a favor and go to a respectable retailer and be sure to ask the questions we did not. Definitely do not purchase a Sleep Number bed!

    After months of hearing advertisement on TV and the radio about how great Sleep Number Beds were, my wife and I decided to go into a store and check them out. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly sales person, who gave us a display about how the bed contours to your body and makes your aches and pains go away. She then showed us all of the display models starting with the cheapest and moving up to the most expensive. My wife and I immediately fell in love with the M7 model, and decided it was worth the $4000 price tag due to my back pain and her variety of aches and pains. So we went ahead and ordered it and were told we needed to get a mattress cover and a pillow to go with it, which costs us another $270. It took them 3 weeks to deliver the bed, and my wife and I were very excited for it to arrive after laying in the extremely comfortable display models within the store. We were so excited that we decided to take a nap almost immediately after the delivery guys left. Upon climbing into our new bed, it only took us about 2 minutes to realize that the bed we were given was nothing like the bed we laid on in the store.

    First, the remote control they gave us had the sides of the bed backwards. I controlled my wife's side and she controlled mine. Next, the bed feels like you are sleeping on a rock when you have it at a setting of 100. The delivery guy recommended to move the setting down in increments of 5 until I find my setting, and it didn't start to feel even remotely soft until I was under 50. My wife and I both like to sleep on soft, cushy mattresses so we continued to move it down to 30, which is the setting we were at in the store. This made the bed softer, but it then felt like I was sleeping on an air mattress and gave no support to my back whatsoever. This also caused a taco shell appearance for the bed, with the middle of the bed sinking all the way down while the sides of the bed stayed in their original positions. This caused my wife and I to slide into one another and wake up on top of each other several times throughout the night. I only slept (or should I say tried to sleep) in the bed for 2 nights before I realized I could not take it anymore. I then remembered that the friendly sales person told me that the store offers a free 100-night in-home trial period where I could return the bed with no strings attached.

    So I called customer service and was told that I would need to wait 30 days before I could return it. The thought of another 4 weeks in this bed made me sick to my stomach, so I asked to speak to a manager. The manager waived the 30 day rule for me and told me someone would be out in 1-2 weeks to get it. The original customer service person then came back on the phone and told me that I would have to pay $199.99 to return the bed, and that the cost of the mattress cover and pillow were non-refundable. They were running a sale when I bought the bed, so it was delivered to my house for free, but it costs me $200 for them to come pick it up? This makes no sense whatsoever and this horrible experience ended up costing me $470 and I haven't had even a half night's sleep in a week. This is a terrible product, with equally terrible customer service.

    Until today we were happy Sleep Number customers. In fact, we were so happy we decided to buy the adjustable piece for our bed. We went into the store, saw the lovely display and forked out the whopping $1,100 for the purchase. While we thought that was high, we decided it would be worth the splurge.

    Today was delivery day. The guys set it up and began to leave when I asked about the piece to cover the gap between the bed and the floor. It was roughly 18 inches and you could see everything under the bed. He said that piece called a "Silhouette" wasn't included and that for another $800, I could buy that piece. $800!!! Of course I told him that was unacceptable and to take the whole thing back. Then I was told he couldn't because it had already been opened and installed. I HADN'T BEEN TOLD THAT PREVIOUSLY EITHER!

    But the clencher was when I called customer service. I asked for a supervisor after getting nowhere with the rep. I was not angry and the supervisor and I were having a nice conversation. When I told him that what was advertised was not what I got, he replied "Did you think you were getting nightstands and lamps too because I'm pretty sure they were in the display as well." I was dumbfounded and told him that comments like that were not productive. I told him that they are falsely advertising by not telling customers that in order to get what you see in the display, you need to pay more... a LOT more!

    As for delivery, the guys were very nice and sympathetic. They said they are getting these complaints all the time. I mentioned that to customer service supervisor who told me he hadn't heard that. No "Thank you for letting us know."...nothing. Basically on top of it all, to make a comment like that is to call me a liar. And to NOT be told that once the thing is set up, you can't return it AND to have no way to even know there is a problem UNTIL it is set up makes it so that you have no way to dispute that what you got wasn't what you saw and thought you were buying. In all fairness, after much arguing, I got them to take back the unit for a full refund. But they don't do this regularly so I am posting to warn people.

    BEWARE... What you see ain't what you get! And their customer service sucks which tells me that their reps are frustrated by fielding a lot of complaints and not being empowered to fix the problems. This kind of thing has bankrupted many companies. Maybe Sleep Number is next. We loved Sleep Number... until today.

    My wife and I purchased a Sleep Number bed more than a year ago. We looked forward to having the adjustable settings and a better night's rest. It has been a major disappointment. We have tried the settings at various levels for days at a time but have not found the comfort we hoped for. We purchased the bed on sale and so we could not take advantage of the "return within a hundred days if not satisfied guarantee" offered by Sleep Number on non-sale bedding. We have been so much disappointed with our bed that we finally decided today to purchase a mattress topper for it in hopes of getting the comfort we have been missing. I feel certain we would have been much more satisfied with a traditional mattress which would have cost less.

    This is my second Sleep Number Bed. I purchased my first one in 2000, loved it. Not worn or anything wrong with it, is in Excellent condition. My husband and I both have sleep apnea for several years now. I had read a medical journal that stated elevation of the upper body will keep you from stop breathing (which was my problem). In the past My husband and I have had to use CPAP Machines. My last sleep study ordered by my Sleep Apnea MD, I talk to her about it and she confirmed it does work sometimes. She tried it and it WORKED, I AM SO HAPPY. She wrote me a prescription for a bed. My husbands MD also subscribed the same. Thank The Lord and Sleep Number for the best sleep I have had for years.     I have been very happy with the bed. I got a California King. It is pretty much everything I hoped it would be. It is super comfortable. I like being able to adjust it anytime and not be limited to just "My Setting." Most of all, not having to live with a manufactured firmness is great. The primary attraction for me is the absence of metal springs. It doesn't matter how good a conventional mattress is or what you pay. Eventually the metal springs will fatigue and retain a memory. That's when the initial comfort begins to wane. That is simply not a characteristic of Sleep Number beds.

    I bought a split king mattress and mechanical base. The mattress is very uncomfortable and rises in the middle and drops at the edges. I tried to return this set but was informed I would need to pay $200 for the mattresses to be picked up and $500 as a courtesy to have the base returned. When I tried to ask for a manager I was told his manager doesn't talk to customers and he was the highest person I could talk to. I bought this bed at the end of May 2014 and it has been nothing but problems ever since.. I wish I had never fell for their sales pitch as it is a scam....

    Was due for a new mattress and decided to stop by the sleep number store. After an explanation about the sleep number I gave the bed a try. My chronic lower back and neck pain was immediately relieved at least 80% by the sleep number given to me. I was then fitted to the proper pillow I should use, which relieved my neck pain even more. I was sold and didn't even bother looking anywhere else. I no longer toss and turn all night, but wake up refreshed with no problem getting out of bed no matter how early. Most of all I am pain free and wish I had shopped these years ago. Knowledgeable no pressure salesmen were great and helped me pick the perfect mattress for me. Also purchased the bedding and can't say enough about it. Six months now and I wouldn't trade it for any other bed out there. For me this bed has been a lifesaver.

    I purchased a bed in March. I discussed in detail with the salesperson my intentions and reservations. Based on a positive referral from a friend and assurance from the salesperson of the 100 day trial, I purchased the p5 Queen with adjustable base and mattress pad. After trying for 30 days the pillow top just was not comfortable and I decided to return the bed. When looking up the return information I saw the policy to not allow returns on adjustable bases. This clearly upset me as I had discussed with the salesperson my indecision of whether to purchase the base at the same time as the bed or to wait and see if I was comfortable. He told me that I would save the set up fee if I got them at the same time, so to save the $180 I elected to get them both. Now I have a $1700 adjustable base that I cannot return because it is a specialty item, even though the salesperson assured me I had a free trial period. At best it was negligent to not inform me of the confusing policy, at worst it was dishonest and deceptive. I will definitely warn family and friends to stay away from these products.

    We bought a C3 about 3 weeks ago. The bed arrived on Sat. Aug 2, 2014. The first night was the worst sleep my wife and I ever had. She went to another bed then to her recliner. I woke stiff and sore. Tried different numbers the next night - no better. Tried the "Find Your Number" in the remote function, no better same numbers 45 her 50 me. I called Customer Service on Wed Aug 6 and told them we can't sleep on bed and would like to return it, after all Sleep Number has a 100 Night return policy. The nice lady said that was common with the C2 and C3 and they would upgrade us to a P5 Free of charge. A bed that cost about $500-$600 more than we paid. I said no thanks I don't want it. She said it's a free upgrade sir. I said no thank you - I don't want it.

    Then she tells me we have to keep the bed for 30 days before we can return it or get no refund and it'll cost more to return it than the delivery and setup fee was! What a deal! So I guess till we can get it returned starting on Sept. 1 and not knowing how long that process will take, my wife will keep going to the other room with the small bed and I'll just put up with pain. Or sleep on a cheap Walmart air mattress on the floor because I work nights and can't sleep in my recliner during the day. We will never recommend a Sleep Number Bed to anyone nor will we ever waste our money on another one. Oh and after I read the Warranty I realized that we do have to keep it for 30 days and if I had said yes to the P5 upgrade the warranty would be void! Unless I read it wrong.

    We purchased a Sleep Number (M7 - queen dual chamber) a couple of years ago. This was after having had a waterbed for over 20 years. Setup guys were great and very professional. Fast forward two years... I started having problems with my back and hips. We thought it was the adjustments. After numerous adjustment attempts, still having issues. Then my husband started having issues with the mattress sliding off the bed so he checked it and found the cover torn underneath where the bed mounts to the frame. He said they put them in wrong and has fixed that.

    Fast forward to now. Still having issues with my back and hips. I wake up many times during the night trying to get out of a "hole" that I find myself rolling into. The warranty was gone when all this started so there wasn't anything we could really do. Over the next few months... Base will be scrap metal - maybe we can get something back out of it... And the mattress will go to the dump! We will NEVER waste our money with this company again!

    I paid a small fortune, as a single mom. I figured to help me sleep without pain would make me a better parent and worker. Within a year the mattress was sliding off the base. Shortly after that the middle started to collapse. Then the zipper on the cover busted. None of this is covered. I used the extra foam I had but it didn't help. I called the company and I could buy a new cover for hundreds of dollars. Nothing they could do about the bed sinking in the middle.

    My pain was so much worse with this bed!! I did take the cover off and had the zipper repaired for about $20, and have opened it many times to readjust the chambers. Nothing worked. I always rolled to the middle. Don't buy this bed! I now use a cheap camping air mattress on top of the base and sleep well now. I will get a real mattress as soon as I can afford a good one. Shame on them!

    We received our M7 sleep bed Aug 2 and there were problems with the set up but we did not know until shortly later. We called and were told they would come out but "they were really busy" and scheduled us far out. I told them we just got the bed and thought the original guys set it up wrong (they did not even install the required brackets). The bed is not flat or even and we keep telling them that.

    My husband got frustrated with the customer service (or lack thereof) so he made the decision to return the bed if the future customer service was the same. Got a "supervisor" that was cocky and not sympathetic. He said we would have to pay $199 for pickup and $1699 for the bed parts (that we can't use). I called again to get someone other than the original guys to come out and the response "we will try but no guarantees." Another appointment was canceled and it has not been set up. Still waiting. Select corporate ought to read some of the comments on the consumer reporting site. Sounds like this is a chronic problem and Select does not care to fix its problems.

    Purchased a $10,000 Sleep Number Split-King in 2012 (2 yrs ago). The mattresses (at the foot) slowly started sliding off the edge of the bed. Over a few months, it became worse and worse. Also, with a Split-King, the gap between the two mattresses become wider and wider making a nice, snuggling couple, out of luck. On the sliding issue, we called Sleep Number and they sent out parts called "shark bites" and tried to explain to me how to put them on! I told them to send a tech and they did. The tech guys commented that they are going to replace them but that is not going to fix the problem. They called sleep number and explained this is a problem with the base, there isn't a way to attach the mattress.

    The company again sent out a part to keep the mattress from sliding down at the foot of the bed, not from sliding off the side! Again, the tech guys explained that this was not going to fix the problem! Tech guys explained this is a big problem with this base and they get these calls on this base. The lady in Minnesota at home office told the guys there's nothing that can be done. This is where I called Sleep Number to inquire about my options. I spoke to a gentleman who again said there's nothing that can be done. I asked to speak to someone above him and on came a "case manager".

    After explaining the entire story, she said there's nothing she can do with a two-year-old bed. She said these beds do this and that's just the way it is. Her suggestion was to buy rug slide material and put it under the mattress. I asked if that's her suggestion to fix the problem and she said that's all she can do. I explained we paid $10,000 for this bed and I felt they should either fix the bed or as the tech guys advised, give us a new base. We aren't doing that. Then went on to compare this bed to a 2-year-old car and wanting to more updated version. I explained I'm not driving my bed down the street, I am sleeping on it! If the car was a lemon, then you demand a replacement. The bed is not performing as sold, we either want a fix or a new base.

    After making the comment, she's not going to do anything. I asked for someone above her. She stated there wasn't anyone above her, that she's the last in line. At this point, I'm screwed with a pain in the neck and frustrating $10,000 bed! Although they offered fixes, neither one was for the problem we had. I have chosen to take to social media in hopes of getting someone above her to listen and help! I am also warning everyone to not purchase any bed from this company because they don't back up their product. I have read of others having this same problem. Sleep Number is a whittled down staff that can't handle the errors of design. I do have other options and will use those if no one at Sleep Numbers offer any help. I'm already out $10,000. That provides a lot of motivation for me.

While a certain amount of space between the two mattresses that make up our Split King size is normal and necessary to prevent undue wear and tear to the bed, the two sides should stay close enough together not to be an issue.     Bought bed on 2 Aug. Paperwork states "within 2 weeks of purchase, your Sleep Number bed will be delivered". Received call 7 August to tell me it will "hopefully" be able to be delivered by the end of August. The reasoning is with all the promotion and sales, they are unable to accommodate 2 week delivery at this time. WHAT??? I have got rid of my other bed, thought I could sleep on guest bed for a week. This is totally unacceptable. Sleep Number was quick to charge my credit card, not so quick on delivery. I did ask for some form of compensation and the representative was able to get me pillow covers. I must say the representative on the phone was more than apologetic. She is the only reason I have not cancelled the order. My suggestion, when you go to purchase a bed, have the sales rep call the factory to get an accurate time of delivery.

    I purchased a c4 on July 16, 2014 from the Langhorne, PA store. I was told by the sales clerk that you have to have home delivery service at a cost of $179 and they will take the old bed too. I did not need this service since I recently moved into the place and discarded the old mattress before the move. On the 25th of July, I received an e-mail from Sleep Number stating that the bed was finished and was being shipped to the delivery service in my area and that they would call to schedule a delivery. On July 28th I get a call for the delivery service and we scheduled a delivery for the 4th of August, the first time they had available. On the 4th of August, I received a phone call from the delivery that they cannot deliver my bed because of amount of deliveries they have for the day and they reschedule me for August 11th. Now I do not have a bed and have to sleep on the floor because it is a inconvenience for them to deliver my bed.

    On the 6th I called customer service where the representative tried to make me happy by rescheduling the delivery sooner for me. He said," I have good news. I got them to reschedule you for the 11th of August." I told him how is this good news since I was already scheduled for that day. This has been a complete nightmare.” I finally called and tried to cancel the bed to which they refused to refund my money. So now I don't have the bed. They are not delivering it for whatever reason and they refuse to refund me my money. Now I am out a few thousand and I have to get a lawyer to get my money back.

    If you are thinking of getting one of these beds I would check all of the reviews. I didn't and now I am out my money and don't have a bed. I know there are a few people who are happy but what if you are not lucky enough to get you bed and be problem free. Had I seen all of the negative reviews I would not have purchased a bed from them.

    We bought a Sleep Number over a year ago. I was sleeping in a recliner until then. Now, it is embarrassing because I am always in bed. I don't want to go on vacation and have to sleep on somebody else's crappy mattress. We got the memory foam and all the bells and whistles. Don't really use the vibrator feature. We really use the bed as a lounge chair because of this feature. I wish the split bed had been available when we got ours because I like to sleep with the bed up for reflux and my husband likes the bed flat, but we make do.

    I have fibromyalgia and was just miserable on the old traditional mattress (Sealy). Now, I can truly say I am so comfortable and sleep like a baby. Best purchase I ever made and would truly recommend a Sleep Number. They are expensive and I am sure there may be issues with the remotes or electronics, but as the other lady said, who doesn't have problems with electronics. I am writing on a MAC book and it gives me, "The Black Screen of Death" all the time. My phone won't keep a charge, my printer won't feed right...

    The other good thing is you do have the option of sending the bed back after 30 days if you don't like the bed. The only complaints are the cost of the sheets, but they are VERY good quality. The other is I do think the memory foam is hot, even with the cooling gel and I am usually freezing all the time and sometimes sleep with a heating pad, even in the summer. I have a ceiling fan and turn it on when that happens, but even still, I would buy another Sleep Number, no questions asked. The sales people were wonderful and customer service was very helpful and polite. By the way, I'm a "25 "and my husband is a "45". Go find your number.

    Noticed bed losing air, called Sleep Number. I took apart the bed to check the connectors on both chambers, and both were broken. I was told that I had to buy 2 new chambers, $227.59 and I did. Found out later I could have purchased a repair kit from another vendor for this bed, Air Bed Pro's for about $20.00. I feel robbed by Sleep Number. The problem was because of poor quality connectors, they should have last more than 8 years. Their ads say that the Sleep Number beds last longer than the standard mattress. I have purchased a new pump about 3 years ago, now the 2 new chambers. Also I have had to get new remotes. Their quality has some issues.

    My husband and I bought our very first Sleep Number bed over 10 years ago and we completely loved it. Now, here we are a little further down the road and we decided to 'upgrade', so to speak. Our original bed is a Queen with two wired controls to fill the bed and one wireless control to raise the head and foot.

    The bed we recently bought is a King-full split with wireless controls for each side of the bed. These wireless controls are more like mini-computers in their functions. Each person can raise their own head and foot or switch to the partner side and raise or lower that side of the bed. Also, if your partner snores, you can raise their side slightly and, hopefully, stop that annoying habit of theirs.

    The reason we bought the King-full split is that I like to sleep with my head slightly elevated and my husband likes to sleep with his feet slightly elevated in order to take pressure off of his lower back. I have to say, it has worked out beautifully for us to upgrade...he is happy and I am happy.

    As for sheets, I found the sheets at the Sleep Number store a bit over my budget. The good news is....I found King-full split sheets on Amazon.com for 1/5th of the price of the Sleep Number sheets.

    Lastly, the staff at our Sleep Number store is just wonderful. They answered all of our questions during our initial buying trip and followed up with us after our delivery and set up.

    I loved my experience with the sleep number store. I went in and showed the sales associate my Smiley sleep number card that I received in the mail from Smiley. Right away he was happy to assist me. He showed me the sleep number dual temp pads and mattress. It heats and cools on both sides of the bed, so I can set my ideal temperature. If I like it hot I will set the temperature to a higher number. If my husband wants it cold he will set his own number. Also the number Dual-temp can be added to any mattress brand.     We purchased the Sleep Number 5000 Series seven years ago, and we are now paying for our THIRD Air Pump. The warranty of 20 years is PRORATED, which means that you will be paying & paying & paying as things go wrong (and they do). We opted to go with an "other than" Sleep Number foam topper under the mattress pad, as Sleep Number wanted more than a BETTER topper else where. At a couple HUNDRED dollars an air pump, figure you most likely will be replacing it every 2 - 3 years. Does Sleep Number stand behind their products? No. Was I polite? Yes. Was the 20 warranty (PRORATED PARTS) explained at purchase? NO. Would I invest in another new Sleep Number? ABSOLUTELY NO!

    I am have a problem with customer service. I am just getting the run around. I am having a problem with leg part of our bed just laying flat again. I called customer service about the problem. They ran through some test on which all did not work. They told me a case manager would call me back. Which they did, however I was unable to answer the phone at the time. They told me to call back a certain phone #. Which I did BUT they know nothing about my problem. I am at work and they asked me for the serial # . Which I gave to them on the 1st phone call. So I did not bring it to work. I know must wait until 5:00 AM PST tomorrow to call them and get this whole thing started again.     I have had multiple sleep studies done in relation to several of my medical issues. Each sleep lab had a sleep number bed, and I always slept better in the lab than I did at home. So naturally as a 100% disabled veteran when it came time to purchase a new bed, I thought of sleep number. Desiring the very best to help my conditions the most, I bought top of the line everything. So we bought the i10 split king with the flex base and massage. Figuring my wife and I would disagree on settings and since no two people sleep the same, we thought split would work out best.

    Well the bed was setup and delivered. Right away we had problems. The mattress kept shifting off the base. We called on that and discovered that the main cover had probably torn and would need to be replaced. Got the new one and had it professionally installed. This one works better, but still is falling off the base on the top, so we're going to have to call about that.

    Next on the list we bought the total mattress protection covers and after a bout with night sweat, I discovered that it leaked through the so-called waterproof cover. So we had to go buy a plastic mattress cover until the new one arrived. Suffice to say, between the returns and being bed ridden, our 100-night trial was up pretty fast. Now that most of the issues have been resolved, (I'm still having back pain, so I am still adjusting numbers) we have discovered that we absolutely hate the split king design. One of us invariably ends up in the crack between the beds. We understand why it's there, but didn't realize it was such an issue during all the return processes. Now we are stuck with an $8000 bed that we absolutely cannot stand. No trade in credit, no mercy. Sorry you had issues, but we gave you 100 nights to decide. Actually with returns and the mattresses and covers not working, we had more like 30 nights to decide.

    Even a restocking fee would be tolerable, but no, sleep number says we're SOL because it's been 5 months. What good is a 20-year warranty if you only have 100 days to exchange. Great, so I have 20-year warranty on a bed we hate. Seriously, you could allow us to exchange everything and sell the bed as new, or as a slightly discounted factory model. It's 5 months old. Thank you for nothing sleep number.

    I am frustrated with the whole process. I paid for my purchase of a P6 bed in full on a Tuesday. Late Thursday afternoon I received a message stating the home delivery area will be calling late next week to try and schedule the delivery. This is unacceptable. At the time of purchase, I was told I would receive a call within 48-72 hours to schedule home delivery. I also asked for a second remote to be added to the order and I was told to hang up, call back and start a new order. Completely ridiculous. I did create an account for Sleep IQ as soon as I received the email, so my home delivery could be scheduled. I could go to Sears and have a king mattress delivered before sleep number even calls. I am very disappointed. I wished they worked on the premise, you don't get charged until product ships or is scheduled for delivery. I am canceling my order and looking for another mattress.

    To be completely honest, I can't remember which model we have right now. I think it's the ILE. But either way, I would not give it up for anything. It is the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. I only wish we had purchased it sooner. We purchased our bed in Feb 2014 in Columbus, GA. It was delivered about 2 weeks later. The only negative thing I can say is it would be great if you could adjust your sleep number by 1 instead of 5. If you are considering buying one, it is an excellent investment.

    My 12-year-old daughter, Danielle, had Scoliosis spinal surgery (C7-L4) where the surgeon did a phenomenal job correcting two 60-degree curves in her spine with 24 stainless steel bolts & 2 rods (12 vertebrae). Subsequent to surgery, she did not have any particular residual effects, but would wake up from her old bed often "grumpy" beginning her day. After talking with her, we discovered she was not sleeping well on her current bed. This was the single collateral effect on her from the surgery.

    After buying her a Sleep Number bed, it was like throwing a light switch. She now wakes up rested & cheerful everyday! Six months now, and counting. While the insurance company did not cover the cost of the bed, as it is not classified typical Durable Medical Equipment (DME), I believe it should be marketed as DME for exactly the above reason.

    Danielle will continue to use the Sleep Number bed line of products for the rest of her life. My heartfelt thanks to the entire staff, support & engineers at Sleep Number for making this possible for my daughter. Priceless cannot come close to describing the value of this bed!     After 2 weeks or so of sleeping on the mattress I purchased on 06/25/14, I realized this was not the bed for me. In the store, it was conveyed to me that there was a 100 Night In-Home trial policy which I assumed would be honored - only to find out through a Sleep Number customer service conversation this wasn't the case. The supervisor "Bob" said that the most expensive part of my purchase (Queen FlexFit2 $1,699.99) could not be returned only the mattress ($699.99). So the 100 Night In-Home trial policy only covers the mattress which I believe is not honorable to not provide the option for a full return if a customer is not happy with their product. "Bob" mentioned in the conversation that on my receipt of purchase (on the 2nd page) it states that the FlexFit is unrefundable. I am certain that if customers really knew that their overpriced mattresses and all of its accoutrements were not fully refundable, they would have far less buyers. At the end of my lengthy phone conversation detailing my disappointment with Sleep Number, "Bob" did say for a fee of around $500.00, they would take back the mattress and FlexFit. Why would I send $500.00 to this company just to get if off my hands? Poor way of handling their business and customer service. Unbelievable.

    Had I known the feeling as I awoke from that first night's slumber on our new Sleep Number bed earlier in life, I would never have waited this long to purchase one. I always thought they were too expensive for our modest budget but as our current mattress was becoming unsleepable, we thought we'd check out all our options.

Let me tell you, when you only get about 4 hours of sleep a night due to an infant, you really need those hours to count!

    In store, they told me my Sleep Number was 40 and it felt great. Once we got the bed set up, my number was way too firm. I put it down a notch and felt better. After a few months, the center of the bed started to cave in, causing my husband and I both to roll toward the middle. There is no chamber in the middle so we would wake up hitting the hard board underneath. We called Sleep Number and were told to bump it to 100, then get in and set to our numbers. This helped, but didn't cure the problem completely. Another few months later, I noticed the sides of the bed looked odd. They were rounded like the side walls were buckling. After numerous phone calls (we were still under warranty), we gave up and lived with our mistake. Now, the bed acts just like an air mattress and loses air so we wake up with our backs hurting because we wake up on the hard plastic board underneath. We are still under warranty but don't want to fight with them anymore.

    My husband and I were so excited to try Sleep Number bed on a trial basis. After several weeks, we found that we were still having trouble sleeping and ending up in the guest room. That's when our salesman and sleep number corporate said too bad, we don't ever refund the adjustable bases. 2500$ for the base and two sets of sheets, STUCK LIKE CHUCK. We are hard workers and have no savings. This is a crime. So disheartened.

    We had a king size waterbed for 40 years that provided wonderful flotation sleep. We decided to move into a queen size Sleep Number bed to give us more room in our relatively small master bedroom, although we were concerned about having enough individual space. Since we are tossing and turning much less, and cozy at our own firmness level, we have not had anymore flinging arms or "bed-hogging". What a joy!

    My experiences with Sleep Number have been the best! My salesman at the Mentor, Ohio store was very knowledgeable and was most helpful when I explained my back problems. I had no problems setting up my bed by myself. Since I purchased it I have been sleeping so much better. I love my sleep number and highly recommend it.

    My wife and I have had our Sleep Number about six months now and we both agree it is the best bed we ever purchased. I could never get a completely restful night's sleep with our old mattress. We love being able to independently change the bed settings to suit our individual moods. My sleep number is fifty, while my wife is pleased with forty. We bought specialized customer preferred pillows, mattress pads, foam layers, fitted sheets, comforters, etc. We have thoroughly enjoyed everything. Our old traditional mattress was about twenty years old and it had indentations and lumps where we slept in the bed. After years of suffering with back pain and sleepless nights, we decided to look for a new mattress. We saw the TV commercial for sleep number beds and decided to investigate. Initially we had concerns about the price, however, the thought of our quickly approaching retirement years combined with the expectation of exceptional rest and sleep were "priceless" quality of life issues. We are thrilled that we decided to make an investment in our bed and golden years. Excellent investment!

    After much consideration and working with the sales person, we bought the top of the line adjustable king bed. As we both have severe back issues we were looking forward to the relief guaranteed by the company. After, wouldn't you know, 101 days, we are in more pain now than ever. It started with my low back and hips. I was thinking it was just time for another epidural, but I couldn't understand the hip pain. Then this morning, my husband woke up with the same exact debilitating hip pain which he has never had before. When he called the company they informed him we were out of luck. The 100 days were over and the adjustable part was guaranteed anyway. An item the sales person, innocently, neglected to mention. Also, the memory foam shredded the first week.

    I am on my 3rd bed (the other ones are still in use). I found being able to adjust was a key to solving my morning backache. The woman I am currently living with does not have to have my hard setting (I can't reveal my number). The plus to this bed is you don't have to struggle to get it upstairs or through narrow stairwells, etc.. I recommend this bed to everybody!

    WE looked for new mattress as we had our old one for over 20 years. Went to Sleep Number store and received great customer service and there was no pressure to buy. Have had new king size mattress almost a year and would not go back to regular mattress ever!!!!!

    My husband & I simply love our Sleep Number bed! We have had our bed for about 4 months now and have been sleeping grand. We wanted to keep the quilted mattress top clean so we purchased the light down mattress protector which is high quality and waterproof. The sales were friendly, informative, and explained how the chambers worked and even had us on the computer to show us the trigger points in our body and how the system can help us sleep better.     I have had 3 back surgeries and have bought 3 different beds in the last 10 years and I have been disappointed with all of them including a Tempurpedic bed.
