I've had the mattress for 10 years. It was comfortable for the first 5. That started to change. I started having backaches and just not able to get comfortable and I can't really see any changes in the shape of the mattress. I would probably buy another in the future. But I always do comparison shopping before buying.

I purchased a Sealy LaZe Queen mattress in a box. I rated 4/5 because I think the mattress itself is great, I sleep well on it, it stays relatively cool, offers good support without falling into it too deeply to roll over, and is a great price. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the fact that it is impossible to keep sheets on it. Maybe this isn’t the fault of Sealy, but my wife considered returning the mattress on this fact alone so it certainly has to be considered in the review. Overall I’m pleased with the mattress and would recommend it.

Nice pillow top with good stitching. It doesn't stay sunk in where your body lies after you get up but does form around you while you're sleeping. Probably the best mattress I've ever bought. It's the deep pocket sheet type, so be aware when buying sheets for this mattress. Thick enough that you don't even need a box spring under it really.

My Sealy mattress was bought last year around August 2020 because I needed to upgrade after having an older mattress for years. Upon looking and trying out a few, this unit was a good level of softness, quality, and firm support. More than anything, it was more affordable than I expected. I was disappointed I hadn't made this move earlier. Getting a Sealy meant I was getting a long-tenured company that provides a higher level of quality products, particularly mattresses, so I was confident in my purchase.

Recently bought Silver Chill Plush and an adjustable base. Mattress is ok, but loved the adjustable base -- until the remote quit working properly. Contacted Customer Service, said they would send a new remote. 3 1/2 months later no remote. Adjustable Base is useless without a working remote. Repeated calls asking updated status, it is back ordered! Customer Service could care less. Asked to speak to a Supervisor - NO. Asked case to be escalated - No Response. Surely there is a remote somewhere in the US they can locate and send to me. Evidently not. Subsequently learned Sealy Customer Service is a third party vendor, not Sealy. Even sent email direct to Sealy. No response. STAY AWAY FROM SEALY, IF PRODUCT FAILS OR YOU HAVE PROBLEMS, THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH!!! These products are only 6 months old. Shame on Sealy.

Sealy is offering to replace this mattress with the same or will do an upgrade for $ (which is ok) but want $140 to ship it and $65 to dispose of the sagging mattress.

Updated on 12/21/2020: To add to my previous review about Sealy not standing behind their products. They did email me today and offered to replace the mattress with $ to upgrade and $140 to ship the mattress to me. $65 for them to return the sagging mattress for disposal.
Original Review: We bought this mattress/box spring in 2019. It has a 2 inch sag on both sides (my husband & I weigh less than 150 lbs) I have filed a claim with Sealy, submitted all required photos. "Once we receive these photos, we should be able to make a determination for your warranty. *All warranty claims are processed for like model and size based upon your initial purchase. *All processed claims are final and cannot be changed. *There is no option to return for refund under the standard warranty." So what good is a 10 year warranty, is my question? These mattresses are of low quality, especially if bought at Big Lots for premium dollars, sag within a year or two and the warranty dept. is very hard to work with. I just want my mattress warrantied so I can upgrade to a different mattress.

I usually do not write reviews however I really thought to do this maybe someone else doesn't go through the health problems that I am going through. I asked to buy a Sealy Elevate Ultra mattress Queen but they gave me an exquisite Sealy and told me it is the same but a better version, Mattress is sinking in the middle. I am just 56 kg, a single girl. It sinks a lot in the middle and the mattress is firm. They do not accept to fix it or return it. They took the mattress for inspection 2 times after I called and e-mails them like 20 times. It took 4 months they take it for inspection. They did nothing and told me it is normal. I have had the worst back pain ever. I started grinding from pain. Couldn't have a night proper sleep. I seriously recommend do not throw your money in the bin and end up with Chiro and physio.

After discussing this with a person at the store we purchased it from, she knew how to take care of this. We paid the same price for a new mattress and are getting a refund for the old mattress when it is picked up upon the delivery of the new one. The fee will not be charged. I feel much better about Penneys, but the jury on Sealy is still out. We will wait to see if this one breaks down as quickly the other one did.
Original Review: Sept. 28, 2020
We purchased a Sealy Humbolt Firm Pillow Top from JC Penneys Nov. 30, 2019. For the past two months, we have noticed a break down in the middle of the mattress and we both wake up with sore backs and our arms numb. After contacting Penneys today, I found out that the warranty isn't what we thought. We paid over $700 for the mattress and box springs, but to get it replaced, we have to pay a pick up and restocking fee of $167 and then get a credit for the mattress. This mattress has gone up to around $1300 in price now, so we will have to pay the difference. If we get the boxed springs replaced, it will be even more. We will also have to pay another delivery fee. We are not very pleased with Penneys or Sealy at this time and will probably purchase another brand of mattress to replace it. We have never had one break down this fast. Buyer beware.

I bought the Sealy Posturepedic king sized mattress at the end of 2018. Less than two years later, I'm already searching for a new mattress. It started off fine, but 6 months later it was already sagging and hurting my back. Now it's like a living nightmare, with lumps and a HUGE sag(honestly it's like a giant dent) in the middle. It's so bad that I fill the hole with blankets/ pillows and still wake up in agony. I am 145lbs and don't do anything crazy, this is just from regular use. Please do not buy from Sealy. If this is the quality they stand by then you should steer clear. I had my old fashioned spring mattress for 26 years, never flipped it and it was still in perfect condition. Boy do I regret switching it out for this. Do yourself a favor and find a better brand, otherwise you may end up with severe back issues like me.

We picked the Sealy Silver Chill Hybrid because after lying on it for 20 minutes in the store, it was still comfortable and no soreness. They had a nice return agreement in case you got it home and found it did not work for you. The first night's sleep was the best we both have had in a long time. My wife's legs didn't bother her at all. It has been about 45 days after the purchase and we still sleep better, longer and without the soreness. We did make a great purchase.

We bought our mattresses from Mattress Firm. They have a lot of selection to compare which was nice as I originally went in wanting a Purple Mattress and they had them for us to test. We liked the Purple as well as the Sealy and just happened to be able to pick up two Sealy Twin XL that had been returned to the warehouse so they were discounted. The bed was initially too hard for me but I walked around on it for a week before laying down and sleeping and it finally softened up. I will say that I was able to get to sleep on it much quicker than our Sleep Number bed (12 yrs old) from the day we got it. It did take about 30 to get used to it completely but we like them. It was our first time using adjustable bases and didn't realize that using that kind of base will void the warranty. Mattress Firm gave us a store warranty which was better than nothing. I am not particularly complimentary of Sealy as a Company.

Sealy has been around for a long time and had a good reputation in our family and circle of friends... until recently when I spent a total of $1000 on two different sets of mattresses. It's not just this company... apparently all of the makers put a pillow top - which is extremely comfortable - on just one side of the top mattress so we can't flip them over anymore!! I don't know what my parents spent on the mattresses I had growing up but those mattresses and box springs lasted decades - I'm talking about THIRTY years, even with us kids jumping on our beds!! I'm very disappointed that I didn't notice that the mattresses couldn't be turned over periodically the same way one would rotate the tires on their car.

I purchased a Sealy Posturepedic firm queen mattress only 5 months ago. I am noticing a severe dip in the middle of the mattress ALREADY. I sink into the mattress, which makes it difficult to get out of bed without grabbing onto something to pull me out of the sinkhole. Since I purchased the mattress from JCPenney, I called their customer service first, waiting for more than ONE HOUR to speak with someone. Then, JCPenney will charge me 15% restocking fee plus $85 pickup fee to take this sinking mattress back to the store. AND, in order to get ANY money back from this cheap-sinking mattress, I will need to purchase another mattress from only JCPenney. So, I am not sure which is worse - the sad, sinkhole mattress or the store which sells them.

I bought an adjustable frame for my mom from Ashley Furniture and purchased the warranty. After about 4-5 months she noticed her mattress was lopsided. After looking, the adjustable frame under her mattress was bent. I called Ashley Furniture and they said to reach out to Platinum Warranty Services. I did so, and they requested a receipt which I submitted to them. They said because the product was less than a year old, Sealy would warranty it since it's their product. Here's where the nightmare started.
After numerous phone calls and attempts to get this replaced for her, it's been about 6 months later and we still don't have a new frame. In fact, she actually rolled off of her mattress during the night and into her bedside table and got a black eye and bruised her face. I once again called called Sealy and there was absolutely no compassion or care, nor did the replacement get expedited. I called AGAIN today and was told to take a picture and send it in. I told the agent I spoke to that Sealy had already sent someone out to assess the damage and take a picture.
The agent did not know why the pictures never got submitted, but did discover we had two different case numbers for some reason. When I asked to speak to management to file a complaint, I was not given a phone number or a name, nor was I transferred to anyone in supervision. I am extremely frustrated. I feel it is ridiculous that it is taking this long and that it's so hard to use the warranty I paid for. The people in customer service have not helped me at all. And my mom does not have a mattress frame that she can use even though we paid a fair price for it. We will be forced to pursue a different avenue now to get them to do what they are supposed to, which will take up even more of my time.

It is due to VOCs. Volatile organic compounds; made of a cocktail of toxic off gases particularly from the foam used to make the beds and the fire retardant chemical sprayed on them. It would take months leaving the mattress exposed to air with windows open to possibly get rid of the smell, but not guaranteed. Do not trust who says that these gases are not harmful. They are carcinogenic and more. I slept on it one night before making some research and my eyes the next day were very red and irritated, also every time I walk in the bedroom after a few minutes a start to belch and goes on for hours. The mattress has failed and is unusable as I sleep in a hole on one side and when laying on it, it has a large bulk in the center area that literally pushes you off the bed. It’s not comfortable, not usable. In filing a warranty claim, we were run through the gambit only to be told the mattress wasn't sagging enough visibly. After only 5 years of normal use, now they won't cover the failed mattress? Sealy has lost a customer for life as we’ll never purchase another Sealy product, and we'll let our friends and as many people know as possible about the poor quality of your product and our experience.
Sealy mattress is crap and so is the warranty coverage. Sealy puts money and profit ahead of its product quality and customer experience. For a combo spring/foam mattress to be covered it has to visibly show sagging of 1.5” or more. Unless the springs literally broke in two or fell out of the bottom, you won't be covered. Sealy has certainly made a warranty to cover their ** so it never actually has to provide a new product in the case of a failing mattress. Good work Sealy, you represent America well! I now know why the mattress business is run like a used car dealership. You are giving the already tattered mattress industry a bad name. I started having more trouble getting sound sleep, my back and hips started aching and I couldn’t get comfortable. Then I noticed a dip where my bottom rests. After exploring other possibilities that could be causing my severe body pain, I considered the bed being a major issue. I turned it around so the dip was on my partner’s side. The problem is improved somewhat, at least for me.... I shudder to think what the next months will bring. Since it is under warranty, I contacted Stearns & Foster, who told me to go to Sealy’s website and make a claim. I did that and was told to contact the store I bought it at.
Carson’s declared bankruptcy over a year ago, but apparently, some other company bought their name. I was directed to call them and they directed me to a warranty company called Serveco.com, since they only bought the name and not the responsibilities that go with the old company. I heard back from Sealy, also directing me to Serveco. I filed a claim with Serveco, only to be told that I need to file my claim with Stearns & Foster. Fortunately my local Mattress Warehouse has stepped up to the plate and honored the warranty. I replaced\exchanged the Sealy for another brand. Sealy states a 20 year warranty. Right? They could tell me it's a 100 year warranty. Warranties are only good if they are honored.

My current mattress is middle of line & has some degree of plush pillow top but I still have restless sleep & back problems. I need something more plush with memory foam. Some of the newer brands are more sculpted to the body. I like the new mattress where you can determine the amount of hard or softness. I also like the gel cooled mattresses. I would prefer a newer more advanced mattress that is customized to my needs.

I purchased Comfort Firm King size mattress on 3/30/2018, I had 60 days to return of which 30 of those days I was out of state of Alaska. I began complaining around the 70 days for over two months and no viable assistance from Sadler’s (local retailer). My problem is regardless where I lie on the left side or the right or even when I turned the mattress 180 degrees, I still ended up in the middle of bed because once the grooves or impressions are on the mattress; it stays there. It does not bound back.
The past two months, I go to bed just fine, but wake up with lower back aching throughout the day constantly once last over 7 hours. On 10/23/18, I decided to stop sleeping on my new, expensive mattress because I always awaken with back pain. Warranty department only will approved a 1.5 inch impression. They never considers the pain or agony one goes through. I also found out there is a degree of formaldehyde poisoning in the formation of the mattress. This formaldehyde may be causing my back pain. Prior to sleeping on this mattress, I never had any back pain. Customer service with warranty department does not exist; it only for show.

When I informed her that I was unable to go under the bed, she told that Sealy does not send repairmen to reset the box. She told me to call her back when I could find someone who could go under the bed. When I informed RTG of her response, a RTG repairman was sent. He went under the bed and retrieved the box. I call an exterminator who advised me to immediately purchase and contain the mattress and box spring with bedbug covers and schedule a canine inspection for bedbugs. The dog searched my entire house and found bedbugs only in the mattress, so I only need to treat my bedroom. According to the exterminator, the delivery company probably contaminated the new mattress with old infested mattresses that it picked up. After working through the pages of paperwork to file a warranty claim I finally received an email saying I need to submit everything again. This happened two more times. Felt like they were making the process so difficult I would just give up on the warranty. Once the claim went through and was approved it took 4 weeks to be able to get a new mattress ordered and another 4 weeks to have it shipped. I also had to pay $140 for shipping to replace a mattress they agreed failed too quickly.
On the day I had set aside to be at my house to meet the shipping company they called in the last hour of the drop off window to say that it would not arrive until the next day. Zero compensation from the moving company or Sealy. Needless to say I will never buy from Sealy again and I would not recommend a Sealy mattress to anyone. I understand a product failing and can happily work through a warranty but the effort that Sealy took to make it nearly impossible to process a warranty claim and the lack of customer service is why I will forever take my business elsewhere.
