5 PM EST, my husband and I heard a loud noise thinking a shelf had fallen. We looked out onto our side porch and the Martha Stewart Outdoor table (set purchased from K-Mart) had shattered into hundreds of pieces. Some glass pieces found several feet away. Table is in an enclosed covered porch. Outside temp is 79 degrees. No one on or near the porch all day. No pets, no children. No type of impact caused this.

On Easter Sunday, my patio table also shattered! Thank God we had taken all the children in to do photos, or someone could have gotten seriously hurt! Now I have a table with no glass and I am upset that there is nothing I can do! You would think we could get a credit for what it costs to replace the glass or better yet buy a new patio set. I have the matching bar set also and I am now scared that the top will do the same thing with people sitting at it. Is there no help for us consumers?

We purchased our Martha Stewart Mallorca collection on 5/27/11; it was a seven-piece dining set, and the glass top of the table exploded last night (10/27/11). My husband and I swept up as much as we could in the dark. Much more work has to be done to clean the chunks of glass that are in the grass around the deck, and the chunks stuck in the spaces in between the deck boards. We had no idea that there were these types of issues with the table. Who really expects their five month old table to explode? It wasn't until ours did that we saw everyone else online with the same problem. This is absurd that Home Depot is still selling a product that has been exploding for several years. Do not buy this product!

I purchased a patio set of Martha Stewart approximately 18 months ago. The set is on my covered front porch. In less than six months the cushions appeared burned. I complained at the store where I made the purchase that my cushions were melting with no direct sun light on them. The employee said he had heard that complaint over and over and referred me to a customer service hotline. They apparently have heard the same complaint one too many times because the lady I spoke with was rude and tried to make it my fault that the cushions were melting. They had scorch marks across them as though someone had set them on fire. If I hadn't seen them melt before my eyes I would have been skeptical as well. At any rate they reluctantly replaced the cushions and said the new cushions were fire proof. Wrong! The new ones are doing the same thing, and now the company doesn't want to issue a refund. Guess I can kiss that money good-bye. I know what I won't look for next time I decide to purchase patio furniture!

I purchased a Martha Stewart Miramar II seating in June 2011. The set wasn't taken out of the box until two weeks ago, due to the renovation of the enclosed porch. The sofa had a bent leg. We tried to straighten the leg but ended up cracking the sofa frame. I contacted Home Depot, who said it's past the 90-day of purchase plus it was a seasonal furniture. Home Depot suggested contacting Martha Stewart Website. This was an unsuccessful adventure. I contacted Home Depot once again and was told by the head of this department that Hampton Bay Patio Furniture was the manufacturer and to file a complaint about my patio furniture. I'm hoping to hear from someone soon.

In the middle of the night, we heard a loud crash and woke up to see our Martha Stewart table in a million of pieces. The glass shattered completely out of the blue. It was very disappointing. (The Lazy Susan top was intact.)

We purchased patio table with lazy susan and 5 chair set on 5/20/04, we paid a total of $435.99. On 6/29/11, we found the glass table top shattered in millions of pieces. The lazy susan was not affected. As there was no evidence of vandalism and since this is a household of only two seniors in their 70’s and 80’s, we could only assume that the recent hot weather was a catalyst in the breakage. Since then, I have been attempting to replace the glass. In checking a couple of K Mart stores, the clerks were unaware of any replacement being available.

I purchased a Charlottetown Resin Wicker Motion Chair in April 2011. The chair has a metal base that is the swivel part of the chair. The metal base bent after little use. This chair is used inside, so weather would not be the cause of my problem. I have been trying to contact "customer service" for Martha Stewart patio furniture, but can't seem to find how to do that. Home Depot gave me a web address to go to but it doesn't seem to exist. Home Depot told me that I have to contact the manufacturer to deal with my problem. How to contact the "manufacturer" seems to be a well-hidden secret. Can anyone tell me how to contact them?

Prior to yesterday, I would have recommended this set to anyone. I was extremely pleased with and enjoyed using this set but yesterday morning, after four seasons of use, our Martha Stewart Melrose table top exploded into thousands of tiny pieces. It was extremely difficult to sweep up as the pieces were so small. There will be shards of this glass top stuck between the deck flooring for years to come. As it seems, we have no recourse from either Martha Stewart Living or the stores that sold these inferior products. I will go out of my way to inform everyone I know about this serious consumer issue including my state's attorney general and office of Consumer Affairs.

I purchased a Martha Steward Patio Set (only had 3 years) with a Glass Top Lazy Susan. The glass table top exploded without warning. I paid $545.00 for this.

We purchased Martha Stewart Patio furniture on 6/23/08 (glass table top, 6 chairs, umbrella and stand). We found the glass shattered all over the deck with no apparent cause. Now, upon trying to find a replacement, we discovered that there have been many similar unexplainable implosions of these tempered glass table tops. One replacement company advised us that the glass was fitted too tightly with no room for expansion, causing the shattering for no apparent reason.

The patio set I bought is aluminum. The six screws holding on the rubber feet on the bottom of the swivel rockers are steel. They now have left rust stains all over my pool deck. I tried to replace them but they have rusted so bad that I can't. This set is 1 year old.

Less than a year ago, I bought the entire Martha Stewart Miramar Living furniture that included 8-piece dining set, Living patio set, 4 chaise lounges, 2 end tables, and 2 coffee tables. They never included the two end swivel chairs for dining set, so I purchased two more regular patio chairs. The chaise lounge cushions are all split in about 20 different places. They are all discolored, even the ones under patio in shade. I need to order more cushions for the 3 chaise lounges. Home Decorators won't sell them separately. It will be quite expensive to order all new matching cushions. I am very unhappy. Can you help? Also, Home Depot does not have them. This is the first Miramar, not Miramar 11.

I bought a 5-piece outdoor furniture set from Home depot. Make certain it was powder coated because the frame is steel. It has rust on every chair and on the table, and it is only 10 months old. I was told that because it was over 90 days, I would have to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer is Home Casual. I was told I should not have purchased this item for on the ocean. Why is it being sold on an island?

We had purchased a Martha Stewart patio set several years ago at our local Kmart. Last week, we noticed that the glass was shattered into a million pieces all over the deck for no apparent reason. Clean up has been difficult since there are so many small pieces and many are stuck in between the gaps in our deck boards. Many fell through the gaps, as well and are now mixed with the river rock below our deck. Also, we believe our cat was sitting in one of the chairs when the glass shattered because he was acting very strange that day and has been scared to go back on the deck.

Based on my research of a prevalence of Martha Stewart tables shattering, poor manufacturing appears to be the likely reason. I have owned the table for more than 8 years and have been very happy with the product up until now.

I had bought a patio set from Kmart, last spring. Yesterday, the top on it shattered for no reason. It was warm and windy yesterday, so I have the glass in my shop vacuumed and the frame of the table is on my back porch. I loved this table and we used it a lot. I bought a Martha Stewart patio set one year ago. It was kept inside during the winter. I put it back out in April of 2011. Every seat cushions, including the chaise lounge cushions, split and they have faded to a totally different color. One summer use and they are all split in several places. The cushions are now unusable. Martha, you should be ashamed. But I guess you learned something in prison, after all.

My Pacific Palisades Dining Table (outdoor furniture) exploded into thousands of small pieces. I've had the set a little over 2 years. I purchased it from our local K-Mart with code # 780-225015-114 and item # SC-160-1T/2.

My husband and I purchased a Martha Stewart Living Cascade Valley Dining Set of 7 Pieces at Home Depot in Everett, Ma. It was purchased on May 28th 2011. On August 15th, about 3pm, my son and I heard a loud bang in the yard area. We ran out to the deck and found that the glass insert on the table has exploded. Glass was everywhere, I am lucky it was raining and no one was on the deck or it would have been catastrophic. Because the glass table exploded, I could have glass in my pool.

I took a photo of the set and sent an email asking for directives on how and where I could get a new glass top. I haven't received a response.

I purchased a Martha Stewart outdoor patio set (4 swivel chairs and an umbrella table) last spring. This summer, I noticed that all the welds are rusting and the black finish is discoloring to a faded white. While the table has not yet imploded, I suspect that will be the final blow for this set.

I purchased the round glass table with lazy susan and 5 patio chairs from K Mart a few years ago. Took forever to clean up all of the glass shards. Will not purchase anything made by Martha Stewart again.

We bought our Martha Stewart octagon table and six chairs early April of 2011. We have had it for three months and the table exploded. I've also noticed rust spots on the chairs. We bought it at Home Depot and will be asking for a refund. I just hope we get it. I will never buy another Martha Stewart table. Her quality has really declined.

We purchased a Martha Stewart 7 Piece Patio Set during June 2011. This week the glass top EXPLODED!!! I wish I had read all of these complaints prior to purchasing, but wonder why Home Depot, KMart, Martha Stewart, etc. allow these dangerous items to continue to be sold. I purchased the Martha Steward "Mallorca" dining table, 7 chairs, 2 swivel chairs, side tables & glider in May of 2010. In May of 2011, the glass top table just shattered. Nobody was even outside, thank god, since a month & 1/2 later I am still picking up glass pieces. The quality was not at all what I expected after spending $1300 at Home Depot on the complete set. I called Home Depot to complain who told me to call Martha Stewart who in turn put me back to Home Depot which did nothing. They gave me a $100 GC for my troubles but that doesn't replace my table. The craftsmanship is very poor as the black on the tables faded as did the cushions & the glass just explodes by itself with nothing or nobody near it

It was 97 plus here in Stafford, VA today, and when I returned home from work, I saw that the glass table top had virtually smashed to pieces! My husband bought me a patio set in 2007. On June 22, 2011, it imploded all by itself. The glass top just shattered everywhere. My son and I were inside at the time and heard a big noise. My husband who was out back came running to see what had happened. It took him a long time to clean up the shattered fragments of glass. My arms and legs both got lots of cuts from the pieces flying at me. A few also went into pool--not good. In cleaning up, I cut myself more with the smallest, almost invisible pieces.

We contacted Kmart and wound up speaking with the manufacturer who told us that is was our fault, that it happened because the umbrella probably bumped it. I understand that there is now a class action suit and we were never contacted about it. We had to buy a new set at a time when it was very tough for us financially and couldn't get something as nice. I was also about 7 months pregnant and had to clean up the whole thing. We purchased a Martha Stewart six piece patio set from Home Depot online. It was out on the deck. There was a slight breeze and all of a sudden, the glass table top shattered. This is crazy. They should make a recall of this glass. I called Home Depot and they do not even sell replacement glass. Had anyone been sitting at the table or it was full of dishes, someone could have been injured. We have only had this set up for two weeks!

It was 11am in the morning of July 30, 2010 when I was in the house and heard a rumble. I looked out on the deck to find glass top in thousands of pieces. Luckily nobody was outside at the time, but I am out a patio set that was not cheap.

Yesterday, the glass table top suddenly exploded into a million pieces. The table was on a covered screen porch, nothing had fallen on it. It just suddenly exploded covering the porch with glass shards. I no longer have a table. I was very lucky that I was not sitting at the table at that time. I had just left the table about 10 minutes prior to it exploding.

I bought the 5pc Martha Stewart patio set with tempered glass table and swivel rocker chairs in April of this year. Yesterday, I went outside to sit at the table and it just exploded. The glass crumbled and glass was everywhere. Had I not run from it, I would have had glass in my face. Had I known this glass would explode, I would have purchased something different. The warranty on this set does not include the glass. This is awful. Now we need a table because the warranty does not cover it. Martha Stewart living should cover these consumers with the exploding glass tables.

I purchased a patio set, to include a round glass top table with built-in glass Lazy Suzan, along with 5 chairs and an umbrella. The Lazy Susan decided to explode and sent glass fragments all over my deck. Is the actual table glass itself ready to explode also? Luckily, I was the only one by the table when it happened. It scared the ** me when it happened. I was only about eight feet away from it when it blew. Should I have been 6 inches closer, I would have been hit by the flying glass.

I would like to add my name to the other people who complained. I purchased a 5-piece Wellington patio set model # DYWLG5PC less than 1 year ago. I came home following rain shower to find my table shattered in a million pieces. It's unbelievable and an overwhelming mess to clean up. Glass is not covered. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else.

On July 19, 2010, I was sitting in a chair around the table, not touching it, and it exploded into a thousand tiny pieces, some of them embedded in my body. We called Kmart and got no satisfaction. We feel they should replace the table or at least acknowledge that this has happened before as we have found out on the internet since this happened. Our dog usually lies on the table under the umbrella when I'm out there and it could have happened when she was on it or the grandkids were sitting around it. I was lucky and was able to remove all the little pieces that hit me.

We have a Martha Stewart outdoor glass topped table with a built on Lazy Susan. Today, the Lazy Susan glass spontaneously shattered, sending glass pieces all over our deck. We are wondering if the glass table itself is a time bomb. The range of the glass explosion was worrisome. We are glad that we were not near the explosion, which sent pieces of glass like shrapnel, within a five-foot range of the table.

I bought my patio furniture from our local Kmart store here in Austin, MN, which has just recently closed. I am guessing that I have had it for approximately 5 years. It is put in a shed in the winter, and brought out to sit under our canopy on our front deck in the summer.

On July 10, 2010, I see I'm not the only one with this problem. My tabletop broke in thousand pieces. We are lucky also by having it for four years. I have had the same tabletop for 6 years. Mine shattered also. I am wondering if it was from the heat. I also want you to know I will contact a rep from Martha Stewart products. In the past, she has warrantied at no cost to me (free next day delivery) a tabletop from a bar I have outside. The bar blew over in the wind and she asked no questions and just shipped me a new top!

On July 9, 2010, I was at my computer (2nd floor) and heard a loud crash sound. I went downstairs and looked out onto the porch and saw shattered glass under and around the table. It had shattered spontaneously. The weather was perfect outside and no one was around it. I can't believe this has happened to so many other customers.

Glass top patio table imploded on Sunday July 5, 2010 while no one was around it. It seems I have read a lot of people complaining about KMart and Martha Stewart. Mine was not purchased at KMart nor was it a Martha Stewart product. What we all have in common are glass tops made in China instead of the good old USA.

We bought the Martha Stewart Mallorca 7 piece dining set and the Marrorca rectangular umbrella at our local Home Depot on May 6, 2010. We paid $728.69. On Saturday, July 3, we heard a loud crash and realized that the umbrella shattered the glass top, leaving glass pieces all over our 2nd story deck and under the deck. The weather was not threatening. I feel that the table with the glass top is defective and/or the umbrella should not be matched with that table.

I purchased Martha Stewart Outdoor bar and stool set in 2006. I just walked outside this morning, July 9, 2010, the right side panel glass top has shattered. Glass is everywhere. There is no sign of anything hitting the glass. I have taken several photos of the shattered glass and area around the bar. Someone needs to do something about faulty material being used. Glass everywhere. My dog has been walking in the glass and the swimming pool will need to be checked for glass also.

I never placed a single item on the table. Now I am out a patio set and it cost me $650. Someone should slap a lawsuit on the Martha Stewart company and these products should be recalled because it is only luck that no one has gotten seriously hurt yet. This is $650 down the drain. I want my money back. Now I have no patio set. I had two pieces of glass in my feet due to the fact that when the glass shattered there were pieces across the yard, so before I knew what happened I was walking barefoot into the yard and got glass in my foot.
