My husband purchased a Martha Stewart Patio set for me in June of 2005. There are six chairs with cushions, a glass table, and the umbrella. The set cost over $500 at our local Kmart. We took great care of the set. The cushions were put away each and every night and the umbrella was not left up, it was put down each night. After only two months, one of the cushions began to frey at the seam and the umbrella seam has a tear around the edge and its crank is broken. I am extremely disappointed in this product. We were very pleased to purchase the set. It is a beautiful set, but aftering paying so much money and thinking we were getting better quality for out money, we were extremely upset and will never purchase another Martha Stewart piece of furniture. I tried to go on line to her direct website to file a complaint with her directly, but could not find a complaint desk for her.

Decided to search the internet for a replacement top for the patio furniture we purchased in August of 2005. The glass tabletop shattered for no apparent reason about two weeks ago. Luckily no one was hurt.
Patio set is useless without being able to use the table. Plus the two hours spent picking up all the tiny pieces of glass from the yard. Hope I got it all picked up so the kids and dog don't get cut.

We bought a Martha Stewart Glass Table with 8 cushioned chairs. It was almost $300 on sale. At the end of the season, we stored it in my basement. Last week, my husband and son were bringing the table out for the season. They cleaned it off with the glass cleaner you attach to your hose. They wanted to let the table dry before bringing it to the deck. To my husband's surprise, the table started to pop like popcorn...and thus, shattered into shards. The shards popped into smaller shards. It was an unbelievable sight. Small shards of glass went into their skin. Both were bleeding. Fortunately-they were not hurt worse than they were. But they could have been. Neither had been wreckless with the table at any point. Both, witnessed what was described as a spontaneous combustion.

I purchased a Martha Stewart outdoor patio set with a glass table top in 2002. Last summer, 2005, I was in my kitchen and heard an explosion. When I went out to my deck the table top had shatttered and was popping like popcorn. I even left the house to get a neighbor to see it and 15 minutes later it was still popping. When I went to KMart about it, they said there was nothing they could do since the set was so old the sun probably did it even though it was only about 70F that day. They wanted me to pay another $199 for a new table. This set was kept in storage wrapped in blankets from November - April. There was no evidence of anything striking the table. I just, today, learned from a local radio station that this is not a single incident that happened upon me.
The set cost $489. To this day there are still glass shards between the decking boards we cannot remove.

I purchased the Martha Stewart - Cape May, Patio Set, 6 chairs, table, and umbrella end of 2004. Set is stored in the winter and covered when there is any sign of rain. My set is beginning to rust. I called K-Mart and was told this set is no longer under warranty and that they do not even have a contact for me to call. I have been surfing the internet for information only to find complaints about Martha Stewart's table tops exploding. This really concerns me. I am unable to afford to replace my set at this time. Will have to think about doing that soon.

i purchased a Martha Stewart Patio table and chairs on February 22, 2002. When I came home the afternoon of May 22, 2006 I found the glass top had shattered into thousands of pieces. There was no evidence of anything falling on it. The patio is covered with a 12 X 35' roof which is part of the main house roof built as one. A ceiling fan was on it the low setting directly over the table so weather was not a factor.
The table was no longer available and the warranty expired. This was a design or manufacturing flaw. I bought another table for $106.50.

Several years ago I purchased the Victoria Sofa Set from a local K-Mart store. I have been using the furniture for about a year and a half on our screened in back porch. To my suprise today (May 21,2006)I heard a loud bang only to find the table shattered into a million pieces. Praise the Lord no one was using it at the moment! Even after it exploded, the pieces on the floor were making a popping sound.
At this time, I am without the beautiful coffee table that was often used. I hope that the product will be furthered investigated for safety and durability.

This morning I woke up to a loud sound. I got out of bed to investigate and noticed that my Martha Stewart Victoria patio table had shattered into a million pieces; the lazy susan piece has not shattered (yet?). The mess is indescribable; ofcourse shoes are mandatory until all of the glass is completely cleaned up. I'm taking pictures first; I've never seen this happen before.
The patio set is worthless to me now since it no longer has a table top and there are millions of slivers of glass in the seat cushions. My time is too valuable to hunt for a replacement tabletop.

Thankfully no one was injured considering we have two small children. It was a mess to clean up because the glass literally shattered into millions of pieces. To replace the glass table top, we have found that it would just makes sense to buy a whole new set. I have found that no one sells just tables. A whole set must be purchased. I just read about a lawsuit against Kmart for a glass patio table shattering. I can't believe it! I not only had a Martha Stewart table shatter years ago... but mine was tragic! I was attempting to put a Martha Stewart umbrella in the top of the table. My granddaughter was under the table trying to guide the umbrella in. The entire table shattered.
Glass was all over her. One big chunk stuck in her calf. She had blood everywhere. We ended up in Childrens Medical Emergency Hospital. She had glass all over. She had stitches in her leg and she has tiny scars various places from the little shadered pieces. Can you imagine how I felt! I would never want to harm a grandchild. Of course we had an emergency bill, and scars.
I made an appointment with an attorney and asked if we had a case. He said I should consider myself lucky she wasn't hurt more than she was.

After 1 year the umbrella material shredded apart and we had to replace it. Because this is an extra large set it was very expensive to replace this umbrella. As if that was not costly enough now all the seat cushins have dry rotted and the material is completly shredded I have not been able to replace them because of the size. I purchased the Martha Stewart Victorian Style Patio Furniture in the spring of 2004 and when I took it out of Storage during the summer of 2005, I noticed many small tears in the cushions and the metal was starting to flake. Now this spring, as I am getting my patio ready, I noticed that the cushions aren't usable as they are falling apart. Most of the rips are located on the very top of the cushions of the backrests. The metal continues to flake and now is rusting. I have not been able to find replacement cushions. I have read through the series of complaints and am surprised at the numbers.
My table has not shattered as of this date, however I am leery of using it as I don't want anyone to get hurt. I did not call customer service for several months because I figured it would be more aggrivation and ultimately a dead end. I was right! One lady told me that if we were able to produce a receipt and name of the model we had, she could give me a replacement price. I then spoke to the manager who said she would replace my table but not the glass if I could produce a receipt and the exact date of the explosion so she could check the weather!!
