We got our Craftmatic bed back in 1990 and we still have it. We got ours when me and my husband was in a very bad accident and others said they could bring in a hospital bed because we need to be elevated. My daughter said “No” and got us Craftmatic beds instead. She bought twins and put them together because he needed to be elevated one way and I on the other way. I like everything about it. Our grandkids come over and get in this bed and sleep for hours. Everybody likes sleeping on that bed, and I love it too. Try it, ‘cause you’ll definitely love it.

I've always wanted a Craftmatic adjustable bed. My wife had just had surgery and she needed to be in different positions like sitting up so this bed arrived by the right time. The adjustable part of it is our favorite feature where we can adjust it to watch TV or any different positions. This bed is just excellent.

I had been looking for an adjustable bed for my husband who has acid reflux problems and I saw a Craftmatic advertisement. I also have a friend that had one and said they were a good bed. What I got was a split king, so that his can be up and mine could be flat if I wanted. I had been looking in Anchorage and the price was a little better. I wasn't very happy with the freight price which was outrageous. They charge $39 in Continental United States for freight and they cost me $1500 to ship it here! I argued that for a long time but I didn't get anywhere so I bought it knowing that that's what I was going to pay. I thought that was astronomical but they said Alaska and Hawaii are an automatic $1500 for shipping. Also there were a lot of calls back and forth on where the bed was but they did track it down and it was taken care of so I got it and they had a team come out and set it up for me so everything worked well. The whole bed is very comfortable and I was very happy with it.

We got two Craftmatic beds 19 years ago. My late husband and I saw it advertised some place. When one of ours quit working, we ordered two new beds and then put the one with the regular twin in our guest room. My husband's favorite feature of the bed is elevating it because he has hiatal hernia, and with the new bed, my favorite thing is the memory foam and the vibrator. They are really great beds and it's worth it because it has different elevations for different people's needs. It's great for older people like us especially. I'd recommend Craftmatic.

My parents had a Craftmatic and I wanted to get one that would help me with the legs that I have. The Craftmatic would allow me to put my legs up at night. Everything was good except when they delivered the bed, the legs were too high and so they very kindly called and got a new set brought out to me very quickly. But for whatever reason the gentleman that came to put on the second set of legs did not put the wheels all the way down in the socket. I'm a heavy-set woman and it broke the legs. Now if they had put the wheels all the way into the socket, it would not have broken. So that's the only complaint I would have. But they fixed it for me.

I sleep a whole better with my Craftmatic adjustable bed. I like to be elevated when I sleep because I have hiatal hernia and acid reflux. I had one before that had gotten old and some of the parts was tearing up on it, so I decided to get a new one. The reps at Craftmatic were great. I was well satisfied.

I have four adopted children with special needs. I ended up getting two of them hospital beds because of their conditions, and I’m looking at that and it looks mighty comfortable, being able to change positions. So I decided to get myself a bed that is also adjustable. I went to Craftmatic because they've been around for years. And the reviews I read on different beds had a lot of problems. I’m enjoying my bed, it’s adjustable that I can go in, instead of in the living in my recliner, do the crossword puzzle or be on my iPad while my son is settling down to try to go to sleep. It’s comfortable. My Craftmatic bed has been great.

I've got a bad back and five bulging disks in my neck and in my lower back, so I was trying to get comfortable. I saw Craftmatic advertised on TV and got one. My favorite feature is that it's adjustable, although the massage is not that nifty.
The guy that sold it to me was knowledgeable and explicitly said that it included delivery and setup. Everything was fine except for the delivery, which was terrible. They were supposed to be here at 4:00 that afternoon and they didn't come. I called the distributor and they had to put it in a truck and said they'd be here at 6, then 8. It was dark when they finally showed up. They were just going to dump it on the ground, but I told them, "No, you ain't leaving on your truck. You all set it up. We can't take this thing up!" After they realized I was going to make them take it back, they stayed and set it up for me, but they weren't happy. The bed is good, but the delivery was a disaster.

My husband has a lot of health issues so we purchased a Craftmatic bed. He has arthritis and has had back surgery. And sometimes he has swelling in his legs and feet, and therefore being able to adjust the foot is helpful. He can’t sleep if he has to lay down flat. My husband loves the bed, and I just couldn't say enough about it. It made him have a lot more better quality of life. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I've known Craftmatic for a number of years now because I used to get stuff in the mail from them. But recently, in the last three years, I have had problem with my back and my legs. So I said I would try it out. I went on the internet, found the number to call them and I spoke with them for a while. I decided to order the bed, and it's terrific. When I get up in the morning, my back is not hurting like it normally is on a regular mattress. And I can sleep with my legs and my head elevated at the same time without putting pillows under my legs. It's more comfortable that way. I can also adjust it to any height I want to. There's a massager on there; I can use the massager when I feel like it. It's excellent.

I love the adjustable part but I think this bed is not as good quality as the old bed that we had. It's a good bed but I think they're overpriced.

People we know have had Craftmatic and we had seen it on TV and the internet. My wife was in the hospital and rehabilitation. She got home and we got her a hospital bed - the top and the bottom goes up, but the mattress was chintzy. She used that for a month or so but the mattress got to be a real pain for her so we decided to go for the better one so I ordered a Craftmatic. She uses it and I like the top going up and down easy. It suits her just fine. I got a lot better mattress than the other one by any stretch of the matter. We did have a little problem, a mix-up we got with the salesman. It was his fault but it got resolved.

We liked the Craftmatic bed except that I think the mattresses was too thin and kind of bows in the middle, that was my only complaint. The very nice rep suggested that we put a topper on it, one of the foam toppers which I happen to have, and I had taken it off the other mattress since so I actually put it back on the bed and it's better with the foam. I expected a stronger mattress in person than what I saw on the picture, so I was a little disappointed and I thought that was misrepresented. But as far as the mattress working, going up and down, doing all that, it's comfortable that way.

I'm an RN and I have a certification in Physical Rehab. If one of our patients was scheduled to go home and needed an adjustable bed, like if they had a feeding tube and can't lie flat, lots of times we could get a good deal from Craftmatic to send them home. I have a reflux and my doctor told me to sleep on three pillows. Those pillows end up on the floor before the night is over so I ended up deciding that I get an adjustable bed from Craftmatic. They were excellent. I had forgotten to ask the man that I ordered from if I could get a memory foam mattress on it and when I called him back to make sure I was getting a memory foam and to ask how much extra it would cost, he said nothing. I got an 8-inch memory foam mattress and it's so comfortable. The two guys that came in to set up the bed were excellent, wonderful and polite. They wanted to make sure that everything was just the way I wanted it. I had absolutely no problems or issues with them at all. They knew what they were doing and made sure I knew how to use it. I've used the adjustable bed for 45 years now. Nothing went wrong in the whole process which amazed me because usually you have one little stumble along the way but not with Craftmatic this time.

I recommended Craftmatic to my mother after my father had triple bypass and needed an adjustable bed to come home to. The sales person was wonderful with my Mom and quoted that the bed would be delivered within a few days of the purchase (before my Dad would be home from the hospital). A few days later she was advised that the bed would be delivered within 30 days. After numerous calls and threats to cancel the order (already paid in full) they agreed to charge an additional 400.00 and get the bed within 7 days.
Once the bed was delivered and installed my mother was thrilled and had great expectations for my dad to be able to use it, until a few days after installation she went to the opposite side of the bed and sat down. She found herself on the floor with the bed tipped up and everything that was on the bed (boxes and books) piled on top of her. The installation person had mounted legs in the middle of the bed and on one side but since he ran out of legs he didn't install any legs on the far side of the bed.
After a number of calls they said they can send a tech to the house (within 7 more days) to move the legs but said it is ok to have anyone move the legs from the middle of the bed to the outside and that the legs they put in the middle were never intended to mount there and should have been on the outside anyway. So after a three week ordeal my brother reinstalled the legs where they should have been in the first place and the bed is finally ready for use. It's a great product but once the bed leaves the Craftmatic warehouse you are at the mercy of terrible installation personnel who are not Craftmatic employees but are contracted and could care less about the consumer.
I am very sorry you are not happy with your mothers delivery. I personally spoke with you mother several times. The bed was promised for a Friday delivery. Due to weather it was delayed and would not have been delivered until the following week. WE paid the delivery company an additional $400 AT NO CHARGE to your mother to have the bed delivered on Saturday. Your mother indicated that she needed the bed there before your father came home from the hospital. We managed to find an alternate agent to make the delivery on Thursday, a DAY BEFORE it was originally promised. When I spoke to your mother she told me she was in tears because she was so happy with the bed arriving early. Unfortunately the alternate agent evidently had issues installing the legs. We offered to send a technician to move the legs but it was obviously quicker to have your brother move them. Again I am sorry for your difficulty but I do not feel your review truly reflects the effort we put into making sure the bed was there, and the constant communication I had with your mother. I even provided your mother my personal cell phone number so she could contact me if needed.

My wife had fractured her sacrum and we needed something for her to be able to adjust the bed to be comfortable. We found out about Craftmatic in the yellow pages. I love the way the bed fit inside my existing bed frame because we were able to save the headboard and footboard, which we love, from the old bed. And we love the fact that it had two different foams, one on each side of the mattress and the consistency. One was softer than the other and my wife liked the harder one. She could sit up when she wanted to. The delivery team was excellent. They did their job very well and were very polite. It was a pleasant experience.

I'd been looking at different adjustable beds for a while. I did some research and talked to several people who had Craftmatic and chose them. I feel more comfortable in this bed and I like the adjustability, because I have an old back injury from many, many years ago and then I became disabled and I need to be able to elevate my legs.
I was not happy with the sales representative. I had done enough research to know exactly what I wanted and although I told him what I wanted, he tried to talk me out of it. I found it odd because I wanted the heavy duty frame and he was trying to talk me into the standard frame, which was $300 cheaper. From a consumer point of view, he was trying to save me money. But what I had a hard time getting across to him was that I'm a large person. And I needed to know without a doubt that this was going to be able to lift me and the mattress and if someone should have to be in the bed with me, say to do my therapy or something like that, I didn't want to have the frame stressing under the weight if I had it elevated. I found it frustrating that he wouldn't just let it go when I explained it to him the first time. And then he messed up the order.
Because I wanted the heavy duty frame, it was considered a custom order. I had asked to have the bed delivered on a specific day because I was moving into a new home. So I left my other home with the packers still packing, drove down to the new place to receive the bed, only to find out that it wasn't coming because it had to "be released" to be made, and it had never been released. So I ended up waiting an extra 2 weeks for the bed. So I wasn't really happy with that. But the guys that came in and delivered it were great. They were professional and didn't mess anything up. They set it up, showed me how it worked and took away all the packing and everything. It was great, and I love the bed. I just had a little bit of issues with the whole ordering and sales part of it. All in all, it was a good experience.

I like the Craftmatic bed and I'm glad we got it. I've heard about the adjustable bed because a friend of mine had had one probably 30 years ago. She and her husband had gotten one. We needed one because my husband has severe back pain, to the point that we can't do anything about it and he's tried everything. He's gonna be 83 this year and I'm gonna be 82. He had in-home therapy and the head therapist told us to get a Craftmatic bed when I mentioned that we plan on changing the bed.
At this point, I am enjoying the bed better than my husband does. He doesn't use it as much. Although when he does use it, it's a real necessity. We go to bed pretty early, and he likes me to be there too. The light doesn't seem to disturb him, and I'll put my bed up and read. We're enjoying our Craftmatic bed a lot. Everything went fine. My wife was able to raise her legs and that helps her some time with her circulation. Having an adjustable bed that we could raise the head on really helps and she used the vibrator quite a bit, too. The only problem I had was after about 10 days, the vibrating motor did quit working on it. I called in and they said they'll get the part to the service man and in just a few days, he was over here and put this new vibrating motor on there, and it's been all right since. No problem. I was trying to get rid of a bed that I thought was horrible and was looking for a different bed that I could adjust. I found Craftmatic and they seemed to have some longevity as far as the company. That’s how I wound up with a Craftmatic. The bed really helps when you have back issues with its ability to higher or lower its height. And the mechanics of the bed is really good. It’s really built solid and nice. The only issue is that I did run into is I told them I needed like a medium-density mattress and they sent me this rock with a pillow-top on it and called it medium-density, and no it's not. You put a blanket on a cement floor, it's still a cement floor. And then they said they got this other one and go try the posturepedic one like it. So, we went and we tried it. Well, short-term it's fine, but as it warms up you sink into it quite considerably. So first they sent this hard mattress and now we have a soft one... I'm making due with this one. I'll see how long it lasts. But there should be a mattress in between hard and mush.

Back sometime in the late 70's my wife Jo had a difficulty, she had a problem with her back. At the time we were looking for something which would provide adjustable support. We looked at hospital beds and things of this nature. We reviewed the Craftmatic literature and it seemed that without having to go through all the rigmarole of a hospital bed that the Craftmatic would do the job. So we got our original Craftmatic which we used for a long time and it filled the bill for what she needed for the adjustability.
Now on our second Craftmatic bed... Jo of course likes the fact that it's adjustable and the mattress is firm. We also like the fact that what we have is two twin sized pushed together to make essentially a large master bed and that they're independently adjustable on either side -- I like to sleep on a flat slab but she needs the support for her back -- and the thing that we both like the most is that when we go to sleep on it, we sleep all night and wake up refreshed.
Our experience with the their sales and delivery team was fine. They brought everything in, nothing got broken, nothing got moved around. Although there was one small incident... The legs of this new bed screw into a box beam (the old bed was actually flat iron frame) and in most box beams if the thread isn't made too long you don't get to screw it all the way in. What you can wind up with then is unfortunately something that would work itself loose. That usually requires washers on the bottom and they didn't install the washers because they didn't realize the washers were in the box. We looked at it afterward and I just got under the bed and reinstalled the legs with the washers so that worked out fine...
Overall we'd definitely recommend them, in fact we have many many times. They're a good solid product. I don't know about our new Craftmatic bed but the old one was built like a German tank. It was a good heavy thing riveted together and it survived an ocean trip to Europe, 3 years in Europe and an ocean trip back.

I couldn't tell you how many years ago it was that my daughter and I went to visit my mother and stepfather in Pennsylvania and they had bought a twin set. They said, "We're gonna let you all sleep in this bed tonight and see what you think." It was heaven. I have arthritis of the spine and then after riding like that for eight hours it was well worth the trip to sleep in the bed. It has taken me almost that many years to get one, and I am enjoying it. No matter what position you put it in, it's comfortable. It has the two-sided mattress - one side's soft, the other side's firm. It's on rollers and I can move it. I just love it. People kept asking me, "Why don't you get one of these other beds that moves like that" and I said "Nah, I want a Craftmatic" and I said I'm gonna wait. So thank heavens, I'm still living when I got the chance to get one! It was splendid... I actually remember my salesman's name and he was just fantastic!

My wife has MS, and I'm one of her caregivers, a 24/7 helper for her. We used to have the best California King Mattress set but everything is obsolete in five years nowadays. It had indentations and holes, and it wasn't comfortable. We chatted about Craftmatic, that it has the new mattress that you can turn over. This outfit has a great mattress that you can have: one side is firm, the other side is plush firm. You can rotate it, turn it over. She liked it so I bought two California King twins. When they delivered, they installed it together and when it's made, it looks like one big California King size bed. I would recommend them. The service was great and the installation was professional.

I have had a Craftmatic before. A relative of mine had a Craftmatic too that was old, about 15 or 20 years. It was still very good and fine and he told me that they brought it to the place and had somebody help him set it up. When I called, they had changed their procedure somewhat. My sister looked it up on the internet. I called them and talked to them and lined up everything I wanted. They came with the new bed and set it all up. I like the bed but the height is a bit too much for me and I am concerned about it. I'd like to have it several inches lower. Also, I put the remote down and I can't find it once in a while or I drop it on the floor. I like the old one where it had a direct line and I could hang that on the bed. I'd like to have a direct plug-in rather than a remote.

I wanted a better bed than what I had. I also wanted one that was adjustable. Craftmatic was on the TV, so that’s when I called them. I have acid reflux and some nights it helps when the bed is raised. And other nights I watch TV. So, it was just a combination of things. My favorite thing about the bed is I can lower the legs and the back, and raise the back. I got the memory foam also because the mattress was too hard for me, and the memory foam is better. The massage is okay - that could be improved on.
When I called, I was given all the options that I needed. I got to make my choices and the service was excellent. The delivery was great. The setup, the guys were very good. And they just came in and did their job, and hauled everything else away. And then when I called about the mattress, I wanted to return it, but they offered me the memory foam and I took it and am totally contented now.

My dad had a Craftmatic bed. And when he died, I took it. He had soiled the mattress. I'd tried different things: cleaning it and spraying it, and the odor was gone. But I called to get a new mattress and through the course of comments that I made and different things that happened, they ended up selling me a bed and mattress to replace his. The first guy I talked to lied to me, so I wasn't happy. I called to ask if I could buy a mattress locally that would bend for the bed, and he said no, that I have to buy a Craftmatic so I set it up to buy the mattress.
I told my brother, and he said "Well, you could get a mattress anywhere because a lot of them bend nowadays." That made me mad because I could have bought a mattress here in town cheaper. When I called back, whoever I talked to told me that he should have never said that, and that he said he was going to take care of me. He said since my dad had the bed so long, he would send me a new bed, a new mattress for the price of the mattress. And so I said okay and he did. I got the bed and the mattress, but something wasn't right with the mattress and he sent me a regular lower price mattress. I didn't care for it for support, as much. It was okay but the first one I got just seemed better.
I would tell whoever I'm recommending it to that you have to make sure you don't necessarily believe everything the salesman tells you, because after all they're salesmen. They feed you all these lines. I'm happy with the bed and the mattress. It is comfortable. It does raise and lower, like it's supposed to, and massage.

Craftmatic is both practical for medical reasons and comfortable, and it just has been totally satisfactory. I first heard about Craftmatic in the late 80's or early 90's when we had seen an advertisement in the newspaper. So we called and that's when we got our first Craftmatic, which we had until last summer. We had to get rid of that last summer for reasons that had nothing to do with the bed itself. We just wanted to have another Craftmatic because we like the bed.
My favorite thing about the bed is being able to move up and down the head and the foot. For me particularly, because I'm supposed to keep my head elevated and my feet also, which leaves me in sort of a V position. But it makes it very easy to do that, and it's much harder to do it with pillows. It has also been helpful to my husband when he had a back problem and had to stay in bed flat on his back for a couple of days. It was nice that he could be sitting up without having to strain himself, by using the bed.

It’s been a godsend because the girls now don’t need two girls to lift her because she’s dead weight. So it works out very, very well. Everyone that I dealt with at Craftmatic were also a delight. I saw Craftmatic on some television ad. And then I did a little online research and they seemed to be as good as anybody else or maybe better. I tend to sleep in awkward positions and wake up with a sore back. When I put it in what I call the "hospital position", you can't toss around as much. Secondly, I have a little bit of a breathing condition, which isn't bothering me that much now, but I'm thinking down the road it might be kind of nice to be able to sleep in the elevated position. So far I’m happy with the bed. It's not cheap, but I knew that going in. I'm satisfied, I'm not feeling I've been used.

I didn't in particular want an adjustable bed. I have an extreme bad back and I have bought the memory foam bed and that didn't work for me. I bought the Sleep Number bed and that didn't work for me and prior to going to the $5 ones, I used the top of the line survey and that didn't work. Craftmatic was the next step. It has offered me substantial relief. I was averaging about 2 hours sleep before the thing would cause me to get up and with the Craftmatic I can get in a full four hours before I have to get up. So it has doubled what the other ones would do.
I raised the feet about 6 inches and then did the same thing with the head and lay on my back on it and it gets the pressure off my spine. The massage and vibrating features are nice sometimes when I had a busy day and I am really tensed. The vibration will cause a bit of a relaxation and the massage shakes the kinks out of it. Sales was pretty straightforward. There was no pressure. I told them what I wanted and they provided it. We asked several people around the home that had different adjustable beds and we were doing our own research too, but there was one lady from Pennsylvania that had a Craftmatic and Mother just seemed to be more drawn to that and it is always by referral. In short, they have had a vertical lift, but now we are understanding they don't do those as much.
The sales rep was not good. When I called he kept telling me yes, they had a vertical lift. I asked him half a dozen times does it have the vertical lift? And he said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." So he just asked me if I could keep the bed and them sending the different height legs, maybe two more different heights and see if that would work for us. They did that and we had no problem. He reduced the price of the bed because of it not being what we asked for. They worked with us and the bed has been great. It has been good for my mother. I talked to a very nice man and he carried me through because I was not sure whether it would work or whether we could afford it. I talked to him and they delivered it. We liked it immediately. My favorite part is that I can raise my head and feet because I've had back surgery three times and it helps me... and it helps me read at night and see TV at night.
Their people were helpful and they still are if I need something. I needed some risers on the bed legs and they have those. I ordered those. They came and they worked on it. I was concerned about the noise that the vibrators make and there is not a lot you can do if you are not on a concrete base, but they sent me some hard rubber things to put on the legs that would absorb some of the noise and that was good.
We've mentioned them to some people and they said, "You know we're interested in that." From our side, they may get a customer.

My sister bought a Craftmatic bed and she talked to me about it. She seemed to enjoy hers so I decided I’d buy one too because I have acid reflux and a bad back. The bed was well worth it and I enjoy using it. And the people were good. I was satisfied with them.

I’m 80 years old and I’ve had two knee operations in the past 5 years. I was finding it a little difficult to get up and get out of bed. Then I saw that with Craftmatic, you can raise your head. So I called and I had a lot of good luck with the person on the phone. The people that delivered it were on a bit of a hurry - they didn’t give me much time. But they did put the bed together correctly and left me all my instructions. I’m using the bed to get myself sitting up. I can get out of bed easily; otherwise, it was a struggle. I have recommended Craftmatic.
