The Neptune Society corporate office contacted me. We went through the various issues which I raised in my review. 1. They were contacted by the hospital to retrieve my fathers remains and did not get him on their own. This puts the mistake on the hospital who is reimbursing me for the cost of the wrong transfer. 2. The company offered to refund the cost of the transfer but I declined since the hospital is reimbursing me. 3. Managers at local franchises should be given the latitude to waive all fees when this type of screwed up situation happens. In short, this terrible situation should not have happened and I believe they will fix it with procedures going forward.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! My father passed on Christmas, a major holiday. I spoke to the manager Trina at the Altamonte Springs location about this company. She stated it was Christmas and there was no one to help and I stated I was not making any decisions at that time and could she call me the following day. At 2 pm she called me and I stated I could not speak to her. I stated I would contact her later as we had not made a decision about which company we were using. I called the hospital to inform them to inform the company to pick up the remains and I find out the Neptune Society ILLEGALLY picked up my father's remains at 2:45 pm. I have legal documentation from the hospital showing that this company ILLEGALLY transported the remains of my father to their facility.
When I call them Trina states that she would get him transferred to the correct place and would get any fees waived. About an hour later I am informed I am being charged $ 250 for their illegal mistake and unless I pay by credit card immediately they won't release him. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They are simply a sales office that represents a funeral home in town. They obviously are unprofessional and unable to actually perform the proper handling of a person's remains.

Neptune Society always works to provide the highest quality of service, and we deeply apologize for any dissatisfaction you experienced with the miscommunication, but mainly for the mistake that took place with the released of your father into our care without a signed authorization. It is our understanding that our Regional Manager reached out to you and did explain the events that took place through this inconvenience that you and your family encountered. Again, we are very sorry that this happened. We treat every deceased loved one as if they were our own family member. Please understand that we listen to all criticism and take steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again. I have known about the Neptune Society for decades, and I can say that their travel protection plan in particular was primary in my choice. My husband travels frequently for research and business, and I am relieved to know that if he should die abroad, I will be able to retrieve his cremains safely and securely. Knowing that our children will not be burdened with making last minute arrangements for each of us is also a great relief. The pricing of the complete service is very reasonable, the explanation of how the service works is very clear. The representative who helped us make these arrangements (Jonathan) was kind, respectful and very helpful in explaining the service package. Thank you for being there.

Salesman did a good job and was informative. Learned about the price increase from other sources over last year. As you all united with National, Gouging would be a term used these days. Looking at other options.

Not only is Neptune overpriced, they also do not have excellent operations and you can do better. Neptune talked my dying father into purchasing a "pre-need" package (including cremation services, transportation of remains, and an overpriced urn) and provided a "membership" card that no doubt gave him peace of mind and a sense of having handled affairs in advance of his death. After he passed, we called Neptune to start the process and they failed to inform us that they would need on-average 15 days from start-to-finish. We set a funeral date 9 days from the date of call, and because Neptune doesn't work on Sat-Sun, we discovered on Mon that Neptune could not actually meet our timing demands. As we proceeded to collect the necessary information for the Death Certificate, there were many back-and-forth emails with many inaccuracies and delays as their staff were busy with other clients.
Finally, with relatives from Asia already flying in for the funeral, we lost confidence in their operation and despite the pre-paid services, we started dialing a local reviews site's highly-rated mortuaries all morning -- so in the midst of our grief, we were calling firms saying, "Hi, I need a body burned in 6 days, can you do it?" When we signed on with another highly-rated cremation service, we told them we were switching over from Neptune and they laughed and say "yeah, that happens a lot." That mortuary used Docusign to collect all the necessary information, was highly responsive, and picked up my father's body the same day we signed the contract! They are on track to meet their commitment for a fast turnaround funeral. If you don't have a tight deadline, Neptune might be fine. But in our case, they couldn't provide assurances on a short timeline so it wasn't a good fit. I wish they had told that to us at the beginning and offered us other options.

When my father passed, Neptune Society was the best option for us in many ways. Removing him from our home was done in the most caring and gentle way. It was also very affordable to respect my father's wishes of being cremated. The impact of losing someone you love makes it difficult to focus on what needs to be done and they helped us with every step. Amy will forever hold a place in my heart for all the things she did for my Daddy and our family.

Cremation services for my mother - Tim was very helpful and kind. We would recommend Neptune Society to anyone needing cremation services and acquiring the death certificates from the state. The entire staff is very professional.

What I went through was horrible. The lies and then couldn't get a phone # for headquarters. When I did finally got a # to headquarters it wasn't until I said I was going to the BBB that they said they would refund my money and that was weeks ago and still haven't had my credit card refunded and this started for the cancelation and refund 14Nov18 today is 12/7/2018. I'm going to send everything to the BBB and they can take it from there. I would never tell anyone to go through with this company. Go through a reputable funeral home that has been in your community a long time.

My mom set everything up with Neptune Society. So when she passed away, she had already taken care of all the arrangements. Their service was very thoughtful and very respectful. Their reps were also great, very helpful, and very accommodating.

Recently I became a member of the Neptune Society. After checking out a few places I decided that Neptune was the place for me for pre-arrangements. When I phoned in for information I spoke with Kelly ** from the Tucson, AZ, office. She was friendly, caring, helpful and she offered to come to my home to introduce me to Neptune. She was thorough in her presentation and gave me plenty of time to ask the questions I wanted to have answers for. For me, it is important that I have the relocation plan that Neptune offers. As I was told, my member cards arrived in the mail within a couple of weeks as well as the beautiful, well-made box for the remains. I am happy I have made this decision and pleased to have it taken care of so my family will not have to add this to their to-do list upon my passing.

My stepfather had Neptune, and when he passed, they were amazing. He also bought Neptune for my mom when they got married, and she recently passed. My husband and I both joined Neptune now because their compassion and caring for everyone are wonderful. From the top to the bottom, we had an outstanding experience. They never once belittled us. They made us feel like we were their family and it was their family that was also passing. It was an amazing adventure.
We liked how fast they were. Mom passed away on a Sunday. We went on Monday to sign the papers for the death certificate, and by Wednesday, we had the death certificate, we had the prayer cards laminated, and we had her ashes all by Wednesday. It was phenomenal. When Neptune came to the home to get mom’s body, I could not have been so pleased. No one at Neptune knew that quilt was her favorite blanket, and no one knew there that her favorite flowers were purple. So, when they came to pick her up, they said that they had brought in a gurney. She was in the bedroom and they wanted to know if we wanted them to stop so we could say our goodbyes. I said, “Absolutely not. We already said our goodbyes. You can just go ahead and take her.”
I saw them bring the gurney in but I didn’t really pay attention. But I asked a nurse from Hope Hospice if they were putting her in a black bag because I didn’t wanna see that. I have seen others do that. The nurse went out to their car and asked them if they were putting her in a black bag, and they told us it was actually clear. I said, “Oh, that’s even worse.” But when they came in with a gurney, they went on in to the bedroom and they were very polite. They asked, “Is it okay if we enter the room?” And when they came out, they did not put her in either bag. They had a sheet that they were able to wrap her in, and then they had a quilt. It’s green trimmed and it was just like a bed of purple flowers that was draped over her. It could not have been more perfect, more beautiful, and more peaceful to watch her go out that way. I was in amazement and so was my oldest daughter.
We were able to take advantage of Neptune’s preplanning services as well. We have them take out $50 a month, both for my husband and I. We only have another year to pay on it. My oldest daughter also got information to talk with her husband about it. I am telling every single person I know about how wonderful, how compassionate, and how loving and caring everyone at Neptune made us feel, and how fast they worked to accommodate us.

My husband and I signed up with Neptune Society's pre-planning services several years ago and their price was reasonable. My husband passed away on September 8th so I was very pleased with all the help that we got from the representative named Jason in the Fort Myers area. The rep was very friendly, sympathetic, and just was there with any questions I had, provided all the information that I needed, and I have no complaints. I would like to sign up for myself but right now, I can’t do it. Still, I highly recommend Neptune.

My salesman was very nice & comfortable to work with. Disappointed in what we received, my name was spelled wrong on the cards, and I guess I misunderstood that when I told the salesman that we didn't want the box etc. we were still getting it and was charged for it. We were interested in a plain program. No service, no set up, just one that was going to make it easier for our children.

Our daughter in Texas whose husband is in the military told us about Neptune Society. We were told that they got the job done efficiently and inexpensively. I also started asking questions and apparently, people all felt the same way about it. So, I went with Neptune and most of my interaction was with Sarah who was the funeral director. She came to our home three times and she was lovely. Anything we needed or wanted or any questions we had, she had answers for us right away. Then, when Cadet passed and the hospice or nurse contacted Neptune for a pick-up, those people were lovely too. The whole experience was not wonderful from an emotional standpoint, but it was wonderful from kindness, caring, and efficiency standpoint. I would highly recommend it to anybody who was asking for a cremation service.

My husband died in the hospital and the hospital notified Neptune Society right away. Then, I had a call from them with their condolences. Also, they were available for me at any time like within the few hours. The prompt service was very good. And I like the prepaying. I was nervous about it if I prepaid and we weren't around to dispute it if there was a problem. But I was around after my husband passed away and the service was fine. My anxiety level was down.

I have worked with Shannon on 2 separate unexpected times. I can't say enough about her compassion and respect that she brings to a very, sad, heartbreaking and sometimes stressful time of life. Ms. ** came to our home at our request and met with my husband and I and my brother. She was very pleasant and answered all of our questions. She had mailed to us some information prior to our meeting. We were very pleased with the information we received and all three of us contracted with Neptune at that time. Our memory boxes, etc. were delivered a few days later. We are all 100% satisfied with the service we were provided by Neptune thus far.

I am somewhat pleased with the service so far that I have received from Neptune Society. Ashley as well as the other person in the office was very pleasant and friendly. They were helpful as well as showing sympathy for my loss. They showed that they had cared. I will know more later when the cremation is complete and I have my sister's Ashes. It's still too soon for me to rate it higher than a 4 star at this moment.

Funeral director Amy ** deserves a raise. Hands down... Her compassion, helpfulness and heartfelt empathy throughout this process cannot be measured. When we put my mother-in-law in the hospice, we knew she was gonna be cremated. We were given some options of who we should be looking into so I researched them online and thought Neptune Society was the best fit. They were very reasonable for their cost and very genuine. We met with an RN from the facility and then the main gal, and they were very nice and concerned. Even after we went with them, they contacted me a couple of times. I had a really good experience with the gal who sold it to us. I actually knew her sister, which was ironic, 'cause I had no idea until I was looking at her. She was very sweet and she laid everything out for me. I also had all my questions set out for her so it worked well.
We got the preplanned preplanned services and I like the sense of knowing that everything will be taken care of when my mother-in-law pass. When she did, nobody had to scramble to do something and it was just done. Neptune had been very nice and they were an awesome people to work with. If you're considering them, I could give out their handouts that they gave me.

After we met with the salesperson who came here, we had no more contact with Neptune until my husband passed away. But I knew that everything was taken care of and that my family wouldn’t have to be concerned about finances or bills that wouldn’t be covered because it’s already paid upfront. But I would suggest to others that they shop around before they make a commitment. There is a financial difference between Neptune and what I’ve heard about other companies. Last week, I talked to someone who found a company that was $1,000 less and she got excellent service too. Still, I would give Neptune high marks for everything that they did, as well as for their compassion and attention to detail.

Everything was great with Neptune Society. They were wonderful and they didn’t try to do a hard sell. They just helped us. I knew what I wanted it and they explained everything. The preplanned service was simple and easy to do. We'll do it again when the time comes for other things. A neighbor also had a good experience with Neptune Society. They were the ones who told us about the company.

My father passed away on a weekend and we found the documentation that my father had been working and buying prepaid cremation services through Neptune. I got a weekend person who was out in St. Louis or Kansas City. Her name was Julie and she started everything to help me. And then Mike, the one in charge of Indianapolis did the rest of it. All my questions were answered and they took care of anything and everything. It was a pleasant experience. If you wanna be cremated, go Neptune. They did a good job.

My parents made arrangements with Neptune Society a number of years ago. They gave me the card and let me know about the company. My father passed away suddenly in a rehab home. At the time, he had just been released from the hospital. Everybody was expecting everything to go fine but then he didn't wake up in the morning. I was totally flummoxed so I gave the nurses the Neptune card and they called the company to cover everything. They came and picked up my mother and got his effects. They delivered those to me. Afterwards, they called to have me come in and they explained the whole process. I was very comforted as I had no clue as to what to do.
The people at Neptune were super kind. When I called with questions, they always answered right away. It's a terrific organization. My parents arranged things 10 or 15 years ago in another state and Neptune had all the records. That was very impressive because I initially thought that everything was going to be a mess and Neptune was not going to know what was going on. But then, everything was there. Someday, my husband and I would definitely consider Neptune. It was a very comfortable experience.

My father wanted to be cremated and Neptune Society had spoken with him and he had been making the payments for the arrangements. He had everything pre-arranged before I ever knew Neptune Society even existed. I spoke with them when he passed away and Sarah, the rep that my sister and I dealt with, was really, really helpful and sincere in explaining everything. That place was so amazing. When I went back to pick up my father's ashes, I was by myself and I was upset. Sarah really seemed concerned and gave me a couple of pointers and different things that could help with the grieving process. It was a really good experience considering the circumstances.

Replied to USPS and 2 weeks ago and scheduled my seat. Drove 20+ miles to venue and arrived 15 minutes early. Diner staff said this Neptune bunch from Charlotte had canceled the seminar. I had no prior notice. Waste of my tie and gas. Elder abuse?

Over 5 years ago my parents bought with Neptune. My dad didn't want us to be stuck paying for his cremation and services. He paid them 1800.00 in full. He passed away 8/14/2018 and was cremated. Yet this week my mom was informed Neptune refuses to pay. Why? Because he passed away in Oregon. They have locations nationwide. There is a home office in Portland 6 hours away from my mom. Mom is 76 years old and had to watch her husband slowly die in her living room. She doesn't deserve this company to take away the peace of mind that dad paid to give her. Thank you. I just had to write this! I want others to know before buying.

I have family members who used Neptune Society's services. When I decided to do the same, I interacted with Ben ** who has been amazing. He left his child’s birthday party to speak to me the very first night when we were calling and I was telling him that I was so lost, confused and that I didn't know what to do. He called me several times thereafter to see how I was doing. He told me that it was difficult to talk about me and my future but we needed to do that. I've already recommended them even to people who said that they would save a few dollars by going someplace else. They didn't go with Neptune and they're very sorry they didn't.

My mother was very impressed with Neptune Society and with the services so I talked it over with my husband, and we decided to look into it. A woman came to our home and we liked her and the presentation. There was no pressure at all and it just seemed like a really good idea. We both got the travel insurance because we liked to travel and the fact that we wouldn’t have to ship a body back from wherever it was we were, I thought that was good and it seemed affordable. After my husband passed away and when I finally had to take care of his ashes and go through all the stuff that you have to go through, they made it very easy and simple. It was very positive under the circumstances.

I received a flyer in the mail which advertised the services of the Neptune Society. I'm only 58 but it's never too late to plan ahead so I requested a catalog. The postpaid card provided two request options: Request a catalog and/or request a phone call. I selected the catalog option but did not check the phone call option. I already know I want to be cremated and at this point I'm reviewing companies. I didn't want a call.
A representative of the company called the evening of 09-04. He began the call almost immediately by wanting to set up a time to come over. He repeated this several times throughout the call and was quite aggressive. He almost immediately tried to sell me on setting up a payment plan. I tried to tell him several times I was just shopping but he was pretty adamant about coming over. I finally had to forcefully tell him that I didn't need him to come over. I just wanted a catalog. He said he could email it faster but I he never did. Based on this experience I will never utilize the services of the Neptune Society.

Buyer beware! We were referred by a friend and when we met with the sales rep she presented their offering without full disclosure about the cost of the cremation service and the additional cost for a box to put the remains in. They lump the two together and tell you it will cost only $35 a month. What we weren't told was that the box cost $1300! It's not worth anywhere near that and you can buy a very nice urn or box on Amazon for a fraction of that. Had we known that we were paying $1300 for a cheap box, we never would've agreed to buy it but it was never presented as an option. When I called about returning it, I was told it was beyond the 30 day period to get a refund. When I explained that the sales rep misrepresented the cost of the box, they could care less and wouldn't refund our money. If you are looking into this service, get all the facts before signing anything!

Alvin handled all of my arrangements with the utmost care and respect. I did all my arrangements while in the state of FL. When my son's ashes were ready he personally delivered his remains to a close family friend for me. Alvin called me many times to answer questions and to make recommendations. I called National Cremation Society and Neptune got back to me first. Their team helped me out and they made sure I had whatever I needed. They always returned calls as well. Jason, the person who I worked with, did a great job too. We tried to get their preplanning services, but we didn't have the time and it just didn't work out. Still, I was very satisfied with Neptune. They were very good and they would bend over backwards.

Sara ** was very helpful when we were planning and making arrangements for my brother's remains. I appreciate her making it easier at a difficult time. She and others in the office answered questions and gave us directions since we were from Texas we did not know where to go to take care of my brother's things. Neptune Society was highly recommended and they're close to the house, so my husband and I went down there one day. My husband wanted to be cremated, and we went in and bought a package. When he died on July 23rd, we used it and we were very pleased. The people were very nice, considerate and sympathetic.

It took a week to get the paperwork needed to me to even begin the process of obtaining the death certificate and cremation. My mom passed on September 3 and I’m told some time next week it will be scheduled. When I called to speak to the person handling my paperwork to see if it was received I was told she wasn’t in and they didn’t know when she’d be returning. Said someone would call, no one called so I asked for the manager who finally got everything going.

I had read about Neptune from a couple places, and it seemed like if your wish was to be cremated, that would be the best way to go about it without any unnecessary falderal. We called them and they sent a saleslady over. She explained it all to us very clearly and gave us all the options, and we thought that it was a wise thing to do. It would keep our kids from having to deal with all of that so we signed up. When my husband died, I was asked at the hospital who our funeral director was and I said Neptune Society, and that was all I had to do. I didn’t have to do anything until I went to pick up the ashes, which I wouldn’t have had to do if I didn’t choose to. It's a good way to peacefully disappear.

Upon some of our friends telling us about Neptune Society we called to make an appointment to go in. My wife and I met with Jill who was very nice and provided a lot of information that convinced us to purchase. This helped us to avoid our kids the expense of a funeral etc. We were very pleased with the whole procedure. Then in August we decided to purchase a plan for my sister-in-law who is in a nursing home with medical issues and can't walk. We thought this would be best since we had her husband cremated years ago since they have no way to pay for a funeral. In this case Paula took real good care of us and we purchased another one for her. We are very pleased with the way all was handled and how we were treated. We also have recommended Neptune to some of our family and friends at our senior center. Thank you Neptune Society.

At a time when you can’t think, your head hurts from crying so much, it’s nice to have this taken care of beforehand by your loved one who cared enough about you to do it in advance. The day after Mom passed, my husband and I called Neptune and took care of this so our son won’t have more to think about at a time that is too draining to begin with. What a great gift.

I have nothing but good things to say about Neptune Society. We've been thinking about cremation services and there was a box that said, “Check to see about veteran’s benefits.” I did that and we got started with them. Their preplanning service was handy and convenient, and it worked out. The rep who I worked with was great. I enjoyed talking with her as she offered hope. I was also impressed with her because she explained the process to me as we went along and I was happy with that. Since my wife was cremated here in Phoenix, Arizona and her remains were shipped to Oregon, I thought that it would get screwed up, but it didn't. Everything worked just the way Neptune said it would--no screw-ups, no added cost, and no hidden fees. I would recommend Neptune to anybody who wants to pre-plan their demise.

Back in 2009, my mother-in-law died in California and I was in Washington. The hospital in Palm Springs, California recommended Neptune Society, I got a hold of them there and they took care of everything. I handled the whole thing from Washington and it was real smooth. They even shipped her ashes and we got it delivered to the right cemetery. My wife died here and Neptune really helped me out a lot this time as well. They’re good and they were all local here so I didn’t have to go to California. When I die, that’s what my kids will take. They’ll take care of me with Neptune. I would highly recommend them and I know some other people who are gonna use Neptune because of what I told them.

My husband decided Neptune Society was a good thing because it was to do with the military and he wanted to be cremated. Since we already had the plan, I didn’t have to try to figure things out and get somebody to tell me, “Oh, you need this for your husband. You need that,” under such emotional circumstances. It was already settled the way we wanted it and the way Rob wanted it. So I was very pleased with it and I’m sure he would have been pleased too. Russell was also very good at keeping up with me and making sure that everything went well and that I didn't have any problems. I could also call if I needed anything. So he did a great job. Everything went very smoothly. Under the circumstances, it was the best one could expect. I would recommend them.

My father died in 2007. He used Neptune Society's services. In the past few months, I have received mail solicitation after solicitation after solicitation in HIS name to my home, telling HIM he should consider their services. I have asked and asked and asked them to stop this. He died 11 years ago, and every time I get one of those solicitations, it just opens all the wounds. This is evil and unprofessional and completely horrible. I wish I could sue them for pain and suffering. They are an awful, ridiculous company. How on earth do I make them stop this torture?

My husband's friend signed up with Neptune Society and told him about it. We also researched online and we were very impressed with Neptune's services. When my husband passed, all I had to do was hand someone a card and it was all taken care of. All it was was a phone call. Everyone was wonderful, kind and as helpful as could be. Any questions that I had or anything were all handled nicely. I am also signed up so when the time comes, I know that my children will not have to deal with any of it and it will all be great.

We trusted Neptune Society when faced with our mother's passing. Once she passed, we waited for 3 hours for Neptune Society to arrive - the wait was excruciating. When the driver finally arrived, he flurried us with excuses for his delay. Not what grieving family should have to endure. He had actually arrived an hour prior, but after speaking with only one hospital official, he turned around and left. We called hospice to inquire about the delay and they called Neptune to return to the hospital. The driver didn't bother to make more phone calls or ask more hospital personnel to confirm the room number. He was obviously there to pick up someone, why would not stay to complete his job?
We were told later Neptune was provided the wrong number to reach us. Which begs the question, if Neptune was unsuccessful in reaching the family, wouldn't they have called Hospice to confirm the number was correct in a timely manner?! It was the worse moment of my life and is now a memory that will haunt me forever.
Once interacting with Amy at Neptune, things were handled much more courteously and professionally. She was kind, responsive, and proactive... and for that we are thankful. Ren, the manager, on the other hand was professional, but lacked any condolence or feeling in her interactions about our experience. When I spoke with her, she admitted no blame on their side and only referenced call logs of that nights events. I can respect technicalities, however we had just lost our mother and was forced to sit there for 3 hours waiting for Neptune arrive - a most heartbreaking experience. Expected was compassion and admittance. There are areas for improvement so the same does not happen to another family.
I am satisfied with their assistance (from Amy) with the obituary announcement, securing of the death certificates, and that I now have possession of my mother's remains. How the transfer to Neptune Society from the Hospital occurs needs to be greatly improved. And ALL of their staff need to be reminded of the delicate nature in dealing with family members whom have just lost a loved one.

Brooke, we wish to express our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mother. Neptune Society always works to provide the highest quality of service, and we deeply apologize for any dissatisfaction you experienced at the moment of us taking your mother into our care. It is our understanding that there was a miscommunication from the Hospice staff reporting the death to us and to the hospital security, which caused this delay and full confusion. Please take into consideration that there are Hospice and Hospital protocols in place when these situations happen, in where we have no control over and we have to follow in order to perform our service. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Again, we sincerely apologize for the pain and damage that we left. We are using your concerns in our Communications Training so that we will have better communication within our office and with our client families. We live down the street and we're 2 minutes away from where Neptune is. I go by them all the time but I didn’t know what they are at first. Then I did some checking, and I found out exactly what they are so I used them. I wasn’t expecting my wife to pass away, which was a sudden thing, and I needed to do something quick. The Neptune Society took care of my Mom's needs many years ago and more recently my Dad's. They were both cremated and sprinkled out at sea and the time was right for me to get my affairs in order to ease any stress from my only daughter when my time comes. I am battling cancer right now and it is pretty tough on all my loved ones, so I am very happy with this business and everything they offer. My whole experience with Neptune was awful. I was lied to, Bertha’s body was kept for one month before it was cremated, I was not told of my error I having Neptune pick up the body. I had changed it when her husband’s cremation was handled by Neptune. The body and cremation should have been sent to Scharbach’s in Quincy. When Neptune discovered my error they should have told me. I would have paid to have her body picked up and taken where it should have been.

Losing my mother this last June was something I couldn't emotionally prepare for and then my experience with the Neptune Society was very traumatic. The employee that communicated with my family was fired without us knowing. We were waiting to hear back from this employee and finally a manager called us 3 weeks later to inform us that our mother still hadn't been cremated. This was a very nauseating thing to realize.
When I came in to sit with the manager to discuss the next steps there was no offer in customer service. She was very firm that there wasn't anything she could do other than offer her apologies and ensure this would never happen again. After going back and forth she finally spoke to another employee and came back saying Neptune would cover the service fee since we clearly they failed in providing us service. After this point the process went smoothly but the emotional damage was already done. Completely disgusted with the situation and even more with the lack of accountability.

Shawna, we wish to express our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mother. Neptune Society always works to provide the highest quality of service, and we deeply apologize for the poor communication that you experienced from our behalf after your point of contact was no longer with our company. It is our understanding that our service manager did jump in and personally handled the remainder of your service, apologized and took full blame for our mistake. In a the most difficult time in one's life, to have to deal with the emotions of the death of a parent or a spouse, having all or most of the details taken care of in advance, in my case, even pre-paid, and helped by loving, professional, knowledgeable staff who can do most everything but take away your pain, this is The Best service in Any industry, as it should be. This company has been around for years, and I would like to think every company like this does just as good of a job, and they may, but I can only speak of my experience. I've known Neptune Society for years and everything they did was just great. My first opportunity to work with them was in 2014. Then I had two more right together and in all cases, I got exceptional service from the Fort Myers branch, even on a short notice. I interacted with their rep Jason this time and his predecessor a couple of years ago, and I am just very impressed by the service. It's really nice to have people you could rely on in terrible times.

First recognize that with the loss of my wife I am rather short tempered right now. That being said, I believe I have some valid complaints about the Neptune Society office on Francis in Spokane. When I first called them they were quickly set up an appointment, but was quickly told to bring in a cashier’s check to the first appointment. Having received the check they lost interest in the client. I put in 2 phone calls to my service provider and was told that they would call back right away. After 3 days someone called me back wanting to know if I wanted to inquire about cremation services.
Later I called and I asked about the death certificate and was told that the worker did not have time to pick them up that afternoon but she would call me in the morning when she had received them. Of course no call was received and I just went by the office and did get them at which time another worker provided me with my wife's ashes. I found a name that had been spelled wrong. I was told that I would receive the new certificates in a few days. A week later and I am still waiting.

When my mother passed, we knew she wanted to be cremated but we hadn't made any prior arrangements. So, I called a friend that I work with. Her father had just passed in March, and I asked her if she had any recommendation, although he passed in California. She referred me to Neptune Society because that's who both of her parents had used. We went that afternoon after our mother passed. We dealt with a director named Carolyn and she was wonderful. She was very compassionate, kind, knowledgeable, warm and caring. All is good and we're very pleased.

I called Neptune in Colorado to get a price for my parents. The would not give me a price. Then they called me no less than 12 times trying to set up an appointment to get my parents to sign up with them. Very aggressive, they always say "we are about to have a price increase so pre-pay now". This went on for 8 months. I would not recommend them.

My mom and dad made their arrangements with Neptune so we used it when they passed away. Neptune has a very good reputation, and some of my mom and dad's friends had recommended it as well. When my father passed away five years ago, Neptune came to get him and they were amazing to work with. They gave us as much time as we wanted, and we had already waited quite a while to call them because we wanted some time with him.
And then when my mother passed away, Marlys was very compassionate and helpful. She took her time and explained everything thoroughly. We got a different urn than the one my mother had because I wanted it to match my dad's, and Marlys helped me find the one that my dad had gotten to make sure that it was truly the one I wanted. She also helped me get it bookmarked and she helped with what I should put on both sides. Whenever she contacted me, she was so sweet. Her voice was so very soothing. It was the best experience. Also, Neptune sens weekly grief counseling links and information which is very helpful.

My mother had pre-purchased packages from Neptune Society for my father and herself. I didn’t have to do anything but go in there, sign papers, and know it was taken care of. Alicia was so amazing. After the sudden loss of my son, my daughter and I were looking for a company to arrange for him to be cremated as soon as possible so that we could lay him to rest and get through the hardest day of our lives. It may have not made sense to anyone but us at the time why we wanted this all to be done so quickly but with the stress and heartbreak of everything, we were wanting one ounce of closure and arranging for all of this to be done as soon as possible helped us achieve that. We contacted another company in San Antonio initially but they were so cold and robotic when talking to us about the process and told us it would not be possible to have what we needed done in less than two weeks. We were hurting and felt alone in the process and were looking for some guidance since we had never experienced something so tragic and didn't know the steps to take to get everything arranged for the funeral.
We then found Neptune Society and my daughter spoke with an employee named Callahan - this changed everything for us. She was kind, soft-spoken, empathetic, and dedicated to making what we needed happen. She called us several times to check in and update us on the process and spoke to her superior about the timeline of what we needed done and they made the impossible possible. I am so incredibly grateful I found this company who truly cares about their clients and who's respect for such delicate matters is unmatched. The darkest time in my life was lightened when they stepped in to take some of the weight off of my shoulders and I will forever cherish that. I recommend their services to anyone looking for a compassionate team that dedicates themselves to bettering the lives of those who are experiencing unmeasurable pain. We needed a cremation service and when we looked in the telephone directory, Neptune Society was the first one listed. My niece, Carla, just went through this with a family in Oklahoma and so she knew what the difference in the cost was. Since we were gonna have cremation, and we weren't gonna have a service, we decided to go with them. We had the obituary in the Houston Chronicle and it took a little bit to get it onto Neptune but Laquita, the rep, was very compassionate, understanding, sympathetic and very nice. We had a prepaid policy and our insurance company told us to ask them if they accepted the insurance. We sat and talked with her about what was offered, about the insurance that we had and what was available.

With Neptune Society, I knew I was dealing with something reputable. My interactions with their staff was like in a hospice, and Carolyn was fantastic. She made a very difficult situation much easier. There was so much dignity in the way that they talked about everything, and a lot of respect for what was going on. My mother who died had purchased a burial arrangement with Trident Society, so when she died, we contacted Trident and it turned out that it was a subsidiary of Neptune. She was attracted by having her ashes spread over the sea because she lived in Southern California along the coast. As soon as I told Trident that my mother was dying, they put me in touch with the local Neptune Society and so Janna, the manager from Grand Rapids, contacted me immediately. She had everything arranged for me. We decided late in the game to have a private showing with her family and she took care of every detail there. She was there to meet us and all the communication was perfect. Everything was taken care of without me asking. It was amazing. I was always skeptical of Neptune because I never heard of it. But now, I would recommend it to anybody.

My parents both have the service from Neptune and when my father recently passed away, I dealt with Julie at the Kansas City office, Missouri, and she was amazing. You just don’t know what to do at times like this and she went above and beyond. We forgot to pick up a notebook assigned for the services, and she ran up and got us one and brought it back. Everything was taken care of by Neptune and we didn’t have to make any decision. It’s difficult enough when you lose a loved one, so having all of that stuff already spelled out was nice.

My mom and dad made plans back in the early 2000s to be cremated when they passed away. When my dad passed, we had a little bit of dealings with Neptune. And then when my mom passed, we had full dealings with them. They took care of everything. We liked the way Neptune did things. And we are all signed up now so our kids don't have to deal with it. They were so easy to work with. We love the people that we had contact with at Neptune. John was very pleasant and very informative. We had a good experience and I always recommend them.

Somebody sent us something in the mail about Neptune Society and they happened to be there at the time we needed a cremation plan so we went with them. My daughter, Jill, worked with their reps more than I did and under the circumstances, our interactions with them were all right. Extremely disappointed with my experience - 2 family members perished in a car crash on 6/16/18. I had to make arrangements. I selected an urn - then told it was not available, then selected another and told not available. I was bait and switched 2 times. Still do not have their remains with the urn - 1 Month later. At this point who knows what I paid for the urn. Bottom line - contract that I paid for and signed - has no meaning as I did not receive what was promised. Pompano Beach Office is where I tried to get some solace for the loss of 2 family members in 1 day.

The representative who came to our home, David **, was excellent. The price seemed fair. My only question "objection?" was that a week or so later two large boxes came containing the pasteboard ashes box, a candle, and a piece of carved wood. Two boxes arrived a week after our signing the contract. The problem: We live in a retirement community, and storage space is limited. The boxes would take too much space. Second, I've dealt with many funeral homes when family members in my churches lost someone in death. I've gone several times with elderly widows who wanted help in selecting the casket etc.
What funeral homes tend to do is display the different caskets and urns for cremation. Then the family makes their choice. I came with Neptune to avoid my children having to make these decisions. But I don't want my kids to have to hunt the box for my askes. When I die, someone will contact Neptune, you will pick up the body for cremation. I made my choice for the cardboard box to put under a newly planted tree. I would want my kids to be able simply to come to Neptune and pick up the ashes. And, my wife and I already have given or selected the items our children desire. Neptune was the final decision we wanted our kids to deal with. Sorry this is so long, but I feel it strongly.

I had a wonderful experience with Neptune Society. They dealt with everything and they saw to it anything I needed was taken care of. They made sure that I understood everything that I needed to be looking at and how I needed to do things and how things were gonna happen. And the transfer from Utah back to Las Vegas went really smooth. They saw to it I had my death certificates, and they helped me write the obituaries for two different states. We had everything pretty well set up because they seem to know exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it done. I really, really appreciate them.

When my uncle realized that he was dying, he told us that he wanted to be cremated. Also, he wanted the Neptune Society to be involved and to take care of shipping his ashes from Seattle to Vancouver Island, Canada. Brent, a rep who's with the Neptune team in the North Seattle office, was extremely helpful and great to deal with. We had some issues because my uncle was living in the States but he was Irish, and although he was separated from his wife for 30 years, they were still married. So, we had some issues getting approval to have him cremated in the first place.
The day that Brent went to the post office to ship the remains to us for the funeral, he realized that shipping from Seattle to Vancouver Island, Canada might delay the process and we could have missed the funeral. So, he contacted us and arranged for the remains to be shipped to New York where my aunt was able to pick them up and receive them, and carry them herself to Vancouver. My overall experience with Neptune Society was very satisfactory and I would recommend them and Brent to anybody.

My neighbor told me about Neptune Society and when my husband passed away, I just went with the easy way out and got their funeral and cremation services. But my husband's death was rather sudden, so we didn’t take advantage of their pre-planning service. Jimmy, a rep from the Fort Lauderdale group, was the funeral director and he handled all the funeral details. He was really good in trying to keep me in the loop about what was happening and he got the death certificate to me right away.
The whole thing was complicated because of its suddenness and my husband’s brothers got involved in setting up a funeral arrangement. The timing wasn’t good so we didn’t have my husband’s ashes there at the funeral, but that wasn’t Neptune’s fault. Any glitches or problems that I had was because I didn’t read their materials soon enough and more thoroughly than I should have. I did not understand how long the process would take and his brothers didn’t figure it out at all. So, the Neptune people came and took my husband’s body very quickly and respectfully, and they made all of the arrangements work. Overall, Neptune Society was professional and efficient.

A very polite and sweet lady, Sharon came to our home and explained everything about the entire service from start to finish. I heard about Neptune Society from my brother-in-law and they had a more complete process than other cremation service provider. They also provided more services than any other company and their price was better too. Everybody I dealt with there was very professional and caring. I liked their preplanned service because it took all the burden off of me and put it on them. They handled all the details, 90% of the paperwork and all of that stuff that I didn't wanna do. I can't say enough good things about Neptune Society. Outstanding.

My husband and I talked about cremation for some time but never got around to calling The Neptune Society until my sister made her transition. When we spoke to the lady from Neptune, she sounded efficient and anytime I talked to her, she was kind. Going with them for cremation services sounded like a good plan because she knew everything about what she was selling. We were impressed with her. HORRIBLE customer service. The entire staff is completely incompetent. It started with lies from Esmeralda the manager in regards to having death certificates in hand within 10 days after paying for overnight delivery charges... then no one ever notified us to come pick my mother up for over 10 days after her remains were ready to be picked up... and then Monica left me on hold for over 11 minutes while she 'checked' to see if my mother's remains were there and ready for pick up. Their insensitive incompetence has led me to believe they have NO BUSINESS working with grieving families during their time of loss. I would NEVER work with this company, location, or people again. Complete loss of trust.

My father pre-arranged everything with Neptune Society and we just had to call them when he passed. They sent some lovely people to the house who very respectfully and lovingly took his body out to their van. The two people were very helpful and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye. My father was cremated and arrangements were made for us to take his ashes along with my mom's which he had saved for to go in the same time as her. The person in the actual office in San Pedro where we did the business and picked up the urn was a woman named Anna. She was very helpful and I was able to reach her by phone when I had questions.
The Port of Los Angeles is an enormous port and the little berth where the boat that takes people out for distributing ashes at sea was along a piece of property owned by the Harbor Department. That property was under construction. So, we were sick and nervous about where we were going to go because we had people coming from out of town to get on that boat. Still, as soon as they had relocation, Neptune sent us the information and a flyer to email to the relatives. Everybody panicked when that happened. Neptune took care of it and said that they would be out there. They were able to move the thing closer to San Pedro, closer to home where we were going to eat afterward. It was all very nice. There have been people who have talked to me and I've told them that if they are going to be cremated, Neptune is the way to go.

I dealt with the Sherman Oaks office. Thank you Kathrine. Neptune personnel came and picked up the body in a few hours. They handled the coroner and paperwork with little trouble on my part. The cost was very reasonable. The only hiccup was a bit of poor communication waiting for the cremation.

Somebody from Neptune Society approached my husband before. We wanted to pre-plan then so we purchased from them. I like that I didn’t have to do anything and that I'd just make a phone call. When I needed them, I called and spoke with Sarah. She was very helpful and put me at ease. Everything went very smoothly and I was very happy with everything that happened. Two weeks ago, one of my co-workers came up to me and she knew that I had lost my husband. She asked me how everything went and I said, “It was great.” I had a wonderful experience with Neptune Society.

My wife chose Neptune Society. She had a man out, we talked to him and she decided that she wanted to be cremated and I wanted to be buried. We would put her ashes in my casket with me. I’ve got a lady coming today from Evergreen. My parents and my eldest son are buried there, so that’s what our plans were. And so, when Kate died I called and set things up with Sara and they handled everything beautifully. Everyone was extremely helpful and I was very grateful for the information and knowledge. Sara couldn’t be sweeter or more helpful. It all went well thanks to her.

Neptune could have done better. They could have explained the process better. I was told it would take 10-15 days to receive the cremains. They should have specified “business” days after paying permit fees. Since the cremation was prepaid, I wasn’t expecting a fee. The paperwork was originally sent to the caregiver even though Neptune had my name as a family member thereby delaying the process. It came in two separate emails days apart. It would have been more efficient to send it together. The deceased was a veteran being buried out of state. Neptune did not assist with a honorary military burial. I had to make all the arrangements myself.

Our grandfather who has passed for some years signed up for one of the advanced programs at Neptune when he was in his mid-80's. Also, at that time, my mom who was very close with my grandfather worked in Mental Health Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University in the Naples area. She ran a grief group for the university. They linked up with Neptune Society and created a charitable, fundraising relationship. Neptune sponsored a series of her events on campus related to death and grieving. So, my mother was involved with all the people at the Neptune office and knew them all very well.
My mother died 100% unexpectedly and very suddenly. Neptune Society was very understanding of our position that we had done zero planning for my mother's passing and were very helpful. We didn't pre-shop for urn receptacles and other stuff. However, it would be nice if their offerings for what to be purchased were explained or offered online. We had asked to do it via email. Still, we didn't end up knowing what things were going to cost and what we could do when it went up to the physical location which was an hour away. An easier shopping experience would be great. Still, we were able to rely on them to educate us as we went to a point where we didn't feel like we were being hoodwinked or that we were being taken advantage of which can be common in the death industry as people could be grieving.

My husband was in hospice at the hospital two years ago and Neptune seemed highly recommend by the hospice people. The Neptune representative, Robie, came to the house and he was very personable and made me feel so at ease. It was a good experience all around. I paid for the pre-plan services outright and it was good to have it done and in place since I needed it within about a month or two.

A friend of mine had her mother cremated and she gave me the name Neptune Society. Driving by, I had seen the Neptune Society building and it wasn’t the same place but we were so pleased that we kept it because I saw later where my friend had her mother cremated and it was not what I would have liked. She apologized but I told her that having to use Neptune has been the best experience. So, it was done by mistake but we were thrilled to death.
I had Neptune’s services for my husband's sudden passing away. I went over there yesterday and got more Thank You cards. Callaghan helped me and she was fantastic. A friend went with me and she loved her too. She was very sweet, very professional, and very comforting. She's wonderful and she's in the right profession. They couldn’t have a better employee. It was a bad time for me and she made it so much easier than ever. Neptune Society and Callaghan made a very unhappy time a lot easier to go through.

First heard of the Neptune Society when we answered an ad for a seminar on Cremation Services in the Fall of 2014. We followed that up with a visit to the local Charlotte Office. From day one they were an absolute pleasure to deal with, we purchased 2 plans with easy installment payments. On April 6, 2018 my wife passed away at 2:30 AM. They took possession of her remains at 4:30 PM as she donated her brain for Parkinson's research. By 2 PM the harvest was complete. They kept her head iced as per instruction. All the following services and requests that I made were done courteously and promptly. I would highly recommend the Neptune Society for anyone who is considering Cremation.

The night that my father passed away was not unexpected but we were not sure when that would happen. A friend had recommended Neptune Society and therefore I immediately called. The response, even at 2.00am was immediate and in a matter of an hour I had their representatives coming to the house to pick up my father's remains. It was very important for my mother not to have to deal with the dead body any longer than necessary and my father's wishes of a cremation without funeral was also honored that way with Neptune.
Their representative was very courteous and sensitive however I thought the wait period for all the paperwork to be processed and the cremation to finally happen was a little long (over two weeks). I am not at home at the moment and I hope I will find the death certificates in the mail when I return but they were not ready at the time of the cremation. So altogether my experience with Neptune was good but not perfect.

The rep who came to our house (Cindy **) was excellent to work with to get signed up for the prepaid plan. She was clear, patient and present to us. She also did a stellar job of assisting a friend with us who needed some very specific assistance regarding her NS plan from California. We have also received our boxes and cards in a timely fashion. All I can speak to at this point is the sign-up experience. The deaths of three members of my family over the past 6 years who also had NS plans were handled very well and highly professionally, which is why I purchased this plan. I certainly hope the remainder of my experience is as excellent!

My grandparents knew somebody who worked with Neptune Society and they set up an account with them. We used them when my grandfather passed and then I also had used them for my father when he passed in April. The Neptune team was very respectful, very understanding, and answered all my questions. It was nice because they actually came to me in my workplace so I could start the paperwork. And the process was a lot simpler and smoother overall.

It is a devastating experience to learn that a loved one has died and distance prevents you from getting there immediately. After reference from a friend I chose the Neptune Society to care for my brother. Every aspect of his care was done with compassion and respect. My questions were answered thoroughly and efficiently. Overall I am happy with my encounter with the Neptune Society representative in my area (Indianapolis). I think they offer a necessary service which makes sense for people who wish to preplan their arrangements. The only thing that I didn’t get that would have mattered to my satisfaction would have been a follow-up contact from the representative who came to my home.

I left an email for information on the Neptune Society. Andy called me back within minutes and met with me that night at my home. The process was lengthy, but I understood since this involves in effect taking care of a deceased person. Andy, in Sherman Oaks California, is sensational, very sensitive and efficient. Neptune Society's price was right and it was something that we thought we should do, and we signed up for the pre-planning service 10 years ago. Then at the time when my husband passed away, they were very easy to deal with and there was no drama. Their staff was fantastic and their funeral director, Amy, was great. She let me know what was going on every step of the way. And I've since recommended Neptune Society to everybody that I have spoken to about my experience.

My mother chose Neptune as my dad's and her cremation service provider and they purchased their plans in Arizona. They had paid for everything at the time they purchased it. When my dad passed away, they took care of everything with him. My mom came to Kentucky to live with me and she passed away a little over a month ago. So, we had interactions with the Neptune people from then on and they were excellent. They were considerate, patient and very helpful.

My mother had set up her arrangements through cremation with Neptune Society. The Neptune team was all fantastic and they took care of my mother because her body was out in the state where she originally had made arrangements. My grandfather was a planner and purchased a travel protection package from the Neptune society in 2008. My grandfather and grandmother traveled all winter and wanted to know no matter where they were that if something happened things would be taken care of. That so was not the case without the hassle of lots of faxing that didn’t seem to ever reach the right person. I had to refax papers and then refax. My grandmother called 911 when she realized my grandfather, was not responding to her when she entered the bedroom for bed.
When the officer and medical profession arrived my grandfather had passed. Which was traumatic enough. My grandfather being 90, my grandmother being 84, the officer asked if they had a specific funeral home in the area were they were, mind you they had traveled south for the winter so not their primary residence. She said no they really didn’t know any in the area. So therefore they offered a nice one right down the road. Seemed to be great, until we had to pay for the removal from the house $498.00, because Neptune only pays if they go to a certain one in the area, which traveling how would you know, a travel protection should have covered anywhere.
So we had to have my grandfather moved to another funeral home, unless my grandmother wanted to be out more charges and the package they bought wouldn’t pick up other charges. None the less, the man I spoke to said we had to do everything electronically, well usually when you travel you don't have WiFi, printer, besides the fact he sold the policy to an 80 year old 10 years ago technology in that generation was not on the top of the list. My grandmother had never emailed anyone nor used the computer and printer. That just was not in their generation. I had to find a place in the area to send and receive fax, and was told I could not communicate with the funeral home we had to have him sent through.
Then after I filled out the paperwork faxed back the very same day. Which was on a Friday did not hear back from anyone, so Monday I called them to see what was going on, assuming someone would have touch based with me, just to find they didn’t receive the fax. Had to resend another $17.00, to have the rude person on the other end explain to me they can’t help it they didn’t receive it. I then responded with could someone have touch based with me. Mind you he was on the phone when we were going through the paperwork, which was my grandfather's death certificate, and other paperwork. We also had to pay to receive the fax in the first place.
Finally I got tired of dealing with the rude individual on the other end and called the funeral home and told them what was going on, "Could we please just go through them." She was so very pleasant and said, yes, and kept apologizing for what we were dealing with. The best part of the whole ordeal is all the fax monies that were spent was for nothing. She said the paperwork wasn’t even filled out correct, could we please come in and fill it out the correct way. Her crematorium would accept it. I took in what we got faxed to us and showed her, the rude man we were dealing with had wrote a cover page that said only fill out the places I have marked. Worst experience in losing my grandfather topped the cake.
I would never recommend them to take care of your loved one situation ever. Losing someone you love is a very stressful situation already and then going through what we did just made it 100x worse. Also if they would have explained this package to its true entirety to my grandfather and all the ends and outs, he never would have bought into this, my grandfather was a very smart man, so be careful who you let talk you into taking care of things, and buying packages that are not described correctly. I feel they took advantage of my grandparents, and now I will have to deal with them again when my grandmother passes because when I explained I was canceling my grandmother to the gentleman he said you don’t get very much back. Awful company.

We read that Neptune Society had been around for quite a while and they were a nationwide cremation organization and so, we made an appointment. A lady from Brentwood, Tennessee came over and interviewed us and told us about Neptune. We signed up and prepaid for the cremation of my husband and I and we had a good interaction with their team.

I only had one contact through the entire process who was courteous and professional at all times, Michael **. Neptune Society was the closest company that honored the National Cremation Society. I had to find them because my mom used the National Cremation Society back in early 80s. I had a nice interaction with their people. It was constant email and cellphone, and they answered every question. The lady was available for every call.

We bought our plans with Neptune Society 11 years ago and I was very gratified that they have it down to such an art. I literally spent 20 minutes with the representative there. He had his checklist all ready, asked me all the questions that they already knew needed to be asked, and what I needed as far as death certificates and my interaction with him went very painlessly. It was all very simple and very respectful, and I'd recommend them highly.

I have received notices from Neptune Society in the mail and it wasn't something that I thought I would ever be interested in. I threw it away until my husband passed away and he had already signed up for Neptune. So I thought, "Well, they did a bit of organization." Everything has been wonderful. They've been very calm and patient. Also, they explained everything. What was going on, how it was gonna work. Everything's taken care of and when the time comes with them, you don't have to worry about any of it. I would definitely recommend them.

Funeral arrangements are not the type of thing one looks forward to. We had been thinking about the need to do this as we have gotten older and when we came upon the Neptune booth we knew it was time. The couple ahead of us was working on their arrangements after having used Neptune for family. Their experience was positive and this was definitely a good testimonial. My father passed on a Sun at the VA hospital in Boise, ID. I didn't have his paperwork with me so I had my daughter look up Neptune Society. The site instructed her to contact the nearest place which was Salt Lake. They contacted the funeral home then on Mon. drew up a contract stating the San Jose Neptune that Dad had paid into wasn't the same and it would cost more. About $1,000 more. I called the San Jose Neptune and they took over and I haven't incurred any more costs. As it should be! I believe the Salt Lake office was just trying to benefit from my grief. That was a reason why we provided you a quote of $436.10 and not $1000 as stated, for you to see how much our services would be if you were to proceed with us. We resulted helping you find the cremation company to where your father's contract was to be fulfilled. Somewhere in your pre-sales materials, probably on your website, I saw a statement suggesting that where as many funeral homes add and add services and items to jack the price up, it would not be so with Neptune. Kimberly ** was very easy to meet, straightforward, when she called on us to complete the deal. She certainly conveyed sincerity and honesty. When she slid pages and pages of materials past us for initials and/or signatures it seemed a bit like overkill. But like most people we coolly went along.
Later in reviewing the papers I noticed separate invoices for the Direct Cremation Package and the Memento Package. And I couldn't help but notice the price ($1255) on the latter. Five years or more ago, my sharp mind would have picked up on that, but in the presentation I assumed (there's that word again) that the two packages were integral parts of the Standard Neptune Plan, so I held my breath. This week we received the two boxes containing the memento items. The items were extremely well-packed and protected. The memento box is very attractive, and the Planning Guide is a professional, well-written product. The rest of the trinkets?
To reduce verbage I have to say, we will have absolutely no use for anything in the Memento Package but the Planning Guide, perhaps a $30 item. Our ashes will be scattered soon after we receive them. Candles and cards -- perhaps important to a few people, not to us. So we just paid $2469.96 for two manuals? Completely unacceptable. Through the years I had heard of Neptune cremation services being performed for hundreds of dollars. Suddenly, we're over $2,000 each? Funeral homes and their add-ons? In my senior years I have been ripped off for dollars, tens of dollars, but over $2,000?

I don’t want to burden my family with the responsibility of have to make important decisions at a sensitive time. My mother, my sister and brother-in-law all had their cremation set up with Neptune Society and mother and my sister's husband passed, it was all taken care of by Neptune. The process of making arrangements for myself was handled very professionally but with an equal measure of sincere concern that my needs would be met in a manner specific to my situation. What I received for the expense far exceeded my expectations. All the details were fully and tactfully explained, especially (and most important to me) the notification of my designated family member. I found no misstep, no lack of sensitivity and no unanswered questions. For all of the above, I would recommend the Neptune Society to my family and friends.

We set up the arrangements with Neptune Society for both my mom and my dad about four years back. We called to check them out and the guy that sold it to us was wonderful. They take care of everything like notifying Social Security, making the arrangements at the cemetery, picking up the body, and if you have a travel thing going on, it doesn't matter where the body is in the world, they would bring it back here. I like that all it's going to take when something happens is one phone call.
My mom passed away a little over a year ago and they took care of her arrangements. They were on it from the guys who came to pick them up and were so professional and caring. At that time, it was Bret that handled hers and he was just wonderful with us and responded to us on anything we needed immediately. Then this January 30th, my dad passed away and we had John at Lynwood who was absolutely wonderful. The guys that came to pick up the body were also professional and caring. Our experiences were so good that when we went to pick up my dad’s ashes, I made my arrangements.

With pre-planned services, we don't have to deal with anything at the last minute and Neptune was the only one we had information on. My husband took the pre-planning service and I’m on it too. The team came and spoke with my husband just before he died in the nursing home he was in. They were very thorough and did a very good job.

I had arranged for my own cremation so that the children would not have to be concerned about it. I went with Neptune when I decided to do it for myself and it was trouble-free. The rep Karen was a wonderful person and was no-pressure. It's very difficult when you’re at the hospital and you have to make that kind of a call, but she allowed us to have all the time in the world to get things together. She helped us a great deal. That’s not a job that many people can do, and she has the perfect personality for it. I got the preplanning service for myself and for Brian, she presented the options and we chose one of them. The people involved were all very helpful. I like the fact that it’s over and finished. All my two daughters have to do when I pass away is to just access the paperwork and call Neptune. Some of my friends are interested in cremation and I’ve also told them about the Neptune Society.

I have two plans - one for myself and one for my spouse. We’ve been going through some financial hardship and can no longer afford to be paying for a preplanned cremation. When our finances were starting to get bad, we were able to bring down the monthly rate which was helpful. But since filing bankruptcy, we can just no longer afford to be paying for this. I request a cancellation and refund for the amount I’ve already put into the plan. Unfortunately, I was told I cannot get a refund. I was sent a form to sign to cancel my plan and receive a $0 refund. When I signed up for the preplanned cremation service, I never thought I’d ever go through financial hardship. Things happen, jobs are lost, and I have to deal with it. It’s unfortunate that I cannot receive a refund on the amount I’ve put into this plan since no services were provided to me. Now I’m told to cancel and lose out on +$1,000 when I never received anything for it.

A friend in California told me about Neptune Society and the recommendation was simply outstanding. I was told that the remains won't be intermingled with others and there was a lot of peace in that. Then I called Neptune and the rep came out and spoke with me at my home. She was very nice and informative. our interaction was excellent and I got absolutely no pressure from her. I did a pre-planning service with Neptune. The funeral director, Samantha, was amazing and she was wonderful throughout the whole process. She called me the next morning. I had a lot of questions and she answered all of them, and that relieved a lot of anxiety for me. Neptune Society was great to work with and there's no other organization that I would consider.

I received a call today from area code 520. I answered and the woman asked if I was (my name). I responded, "May I ask who is calling please." She said, "It is Neptune Society, is this (my name)." I responded, "Yes it is." She said I requested information about their cremation services. I said I did but have never received any information in the mail. She said they don't work that way and there would be a representative in my neighborhood tomorrow and the presentation would only take 15 minutes. I responded by saying I really would prefer receiving material in the mail and then I would contact them. Again, she said the program does not work that way. I said if that is the way it works, I would not be interested at this time. She hung up on me. I found her to be rude, uncaring, and unprofessional. I found it similar to "boiler room" tactics.

In the past, my family has used Neptune Society on two occasions, with excellent experiences both times. In February of 2018, my mother was in home hospice care & passed away in her sleep. Between the hospice company & Neptune, I was given clear directions how to proceed. Mr. George ** at Neptune explained my options clearly & compassionately, then sent the contract to me via email. I was able to fill it out, notarize it, & return it via email. The time frame we had been given was accurate, & I was contacted as soon as everything was ready to pick up. I was treated professionally & very compassionately through the whole process, & would definitely recommend them to a friend.

So when I was contacted, I immediately asked for information and ultimately signed up. Greg ** came by and there was no pressure or hard sell! I also appreciate that you have payment plans. My sister passed away and we had the Neptune Society Austin handle her cremation. Everything that happens after a loved one dies is difficult and none of us wanted to go through the process of picking urns and discussing details of death certificates, etc. When I called the Neptune Society to request they pick up my sister's body I spoke with Allyse and she made everything easy from the first moment. She made an instant personal connection with me and she was the perfect balance of professional and light hearted. She provided information, but was not solemn and mournful. She didn't interact like an undertaker, her communication style was exactly what I needed. You don't want people cracking jokes when you are in so much pain, but she added a perfect amount of respectful lightheartedness.
Honestly, the entire experience was handled in a caring and genuine way. I never heard an canned condolences and we were treated with respect and almost as if we were friends, but not in a creepy way. Nobody wants to go through the experience of having to cremate a loved one, but the Neptune Society made it a bearable experience. I would recommend them to anyone that needed cremation services. They are supportive, informative, respectful and help put everyone at ease during an incredibly difficult time.

The process for obtaining services required numerous phone calls (over 5 calls) and required me to repeat information each time. When finally called back by the representative she called me by the deceased name. At other times it was evident she was not even familiar with the file as it was often the facts were incorrect. Very dissatisfied experience and would not recommend Neptune to anyone or use again.

When I signed up the representative told me that I would receive a Neptune ID card. To date I have not received that card. Then I had to call because when I got my urn kit there was no planning booklet in it. You all really should do a better job of making sure the client receives all items they are supposed to receive. Other than the rep was very nice and well versed about Neptune's services.

Everything went great until they got our money. I have called 2 times to tell them we have not received yet our registration card that we were told we will get in 2 weeks after the visit, February 12 and a month after, and 2 phone calls has not happen yet. I wonder if this is an indicative of the kind of service we will get when I pass away.

On January 26th, 2018 we learned it was my brother's badly decomposed body found under a bridge... I didn't know what to do. I'd never arranged such services but The Neptune Society responded quickly, securely and passionately. I needed to be walked through this process every step of the way and Ms. ** did so patiently and simply. I am still impressed at how easy the entire process was. My father unexpectedly passed away. We were in the hospital and didn't know what we were going to do. My mother had made arrangements independently for herself. We went to my mother's paperwork and found out who she used. I contacted the Neptune Society in California. And then they directed me to Golden Valley branch and from that moment on, Sara told me what I needed to do. We came in the next day. And she guided us from start to finish through the process. We couldn't have been happier with everything that she did for us. Every single thing that she did for us made the process as smooth and as easy as could possibly be. I've already recommended it to people within my family to plan ahead themselves and to call Sara if they have any questions or needs. It's also an affordable option.
