I would suggest do not go with this Financial Service. They will create so many ways to get the money from you. Highly not recommended. Do not be stupid. Trust me. I wanted to cancel the loan application the day I signed. They were not even responding me after I asked that I do not want to take the loan. I applied for the auto finance they charged me 25%. I was stupid accepting the deal at the first place.

Westlake Financial was kind enough to finance a 2016 Chevy van for me in June of 2018. Due to my lack of a lengthy credit history (I'm a sub prime borrower), my interest rate is 18%, which I happily and gratefully agreed to. In order to have a continuing good relationship with Westlake, and to improve my credit score, I make certain that my payments are always, without exception, paid on time and in full. That's all that one has to do. Just pay the payment exactly as you agreed, on time, without exception, never late. I'm grateful that Westlake Financial was willing to finance my van. It's essential to my business. I can't earn without it. Thank you!

First, the loan's term were super expensive: a car worth 8K, I put down 2K and the loan amount to a car worth 8K was in total: $7,024. Why did I agree? Credit score bad (Mortgage issue with Chase but resolved and still listed on my credit). Fast forward: I lost 3 clients, and cannot pay 2 months of the loan and I spoke with their agents 2 /3 times a week. They agree to extend the payment dateline, but because I cannot meet their dateline they repossessed the car with no warning. Not once, when I signed the contract or spoke numerous time with their agent, anyone warn me about the Repo Threat. So the car is gone, in auction this Wednesday the 15th and now to get the car back I need to pay $789.

I email 10 days ago, Mr.Anderson Group President, Westlake Financial and shortly after a gentleman called me and told me the "Repo" factor was in the contract. Pay up or face the consequences (so much for empathy). When I said why none did mentioned it (aside the contract or not call me to warn me, he said that it is not required in the state of NY and if they warned their customers about it, they would hide their car! (Don't car our days have GPS? Try to hide a car in Larchmont with no parking permit, so how did they find my car?) The bottom line, this is a ruthless company and treat customers in difficulties like criminal. As my car goes for auction this Wednesday, I will file a Civil suit against this firm. We will see what a judge has to say about this"repo" practice. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I am a mediator for the Civil Court of Westchester.

Have never had an issue with the company until recently. We are going through some financial hardship and deferred our payment with a customer service rep. He then confirmed that we have the payment deferred until the end of the next month. Fast forward two weeks our car is being repossessed. We call in and talk to another rep whom then tells us that it went through upper management and was then denied. We received no notifications emails, calls, nothing regarding this matter. In fact we were told everything was set and confirmed. So now we owe the past due (rightfully so) but also a repo fee on top of it. Feels like we're getting scammed there. The rep said it was not their responsibility to inform us of the change in status of the deferred payment after confirmation. Good thing we record all our phone calls when discussing financials.

This company will attempt to repossess your vehicle (even when your payments are just outside of the 30 day mark). Now that my payoff is under $2700, they advise me they don’t accept any type of credit card. It’s as if this loan company wants to squeeze every bogus overpriced cent they can out of their unsuspecting clients. The vehicle my loan is on has been blown up for over a year (my mistake for trying to rebuild my credit and being taken advantage of). They won’t settle, there are no breaks and they definitely don’t seem to want to help me in any way. I wouldn’t recommend Westlake to anyone. Buyer beware!

    Original Review: May 6, 2019

I bought a 2012 Dodge Challenger srt8 with low miles and it's a great car. On 12/01/2018 my truck who was financed through Santander Financial which I thought were bad but my percentage was 16 percent and I was only paying back 3500 extra of it went the whole term of loan which my truck had 18000 in financing. Then on 12/01/2018 like I said a drunk driver rear ended my truck and totaled it. Which USAA his insurance company took almost 3 months to pay off loan and 2 weeks sat at junk yard so all my equity gone and I put down 7000. Plus all stuff was stolen out. So because took USAA 3 months to pay off loan my credit score dropped over 120 points plus the car lots ran it over 100 times and took it from 640 to a 449 my interest rate. I dealt with Northeastern auto exchange in Trenton New Jersey and they got me financed through Westlake for 20.9 percent interest on about 20000, 2000 more than my truck loan.

First off the car lot gave me my car with inspection out first week then oil was way over and needed oil change and the stick set of rims and tires and aftermarket set were all bald and would not pass inspection. So immediately had to do oil and I spent 800 dollars immediately for tires so could pass inspection. And now gotta pay for inspection as well. Now to Westlake Financial. I put down 8500 which I had to sell my four wheeler that I use to plow in winter because we get alot of snow. And I'm disabled from football. And I told car lot that I did not want to put that much down but because they over heard a convo about how much I could scrounge up they just happened to want the exact number down 8500 as I was talking about and said that's what Westlake wanted down. Of course Westlake said that's between you and dealer so that's so many lies already.

I paid my first payment month early so I gas two months till next payment. But let me tell you! This company is doing so much illegal stuff it's not even funny. My interest rate was 20.9 percent which I figured would be higher since USAA and the car lots took forever to pay off loan and ran my credit so much it tanked over 200 points. So my truck 18000 financed and only paying around 3800 in interest through term of loan. Now Westlake 20.9 from Santander at 16.9 percent 4 percent increase and financed 26999 with 8500 down so I am financial g almost same as truck. But NOPE if I got whole term of loan I'm paying back almost 20000 in interest. I called Westlake and the gentlemen who barely spoke English and could not explain to me why so much interest was taken out sounded like a fool. I have an MBA in business management. He actually said thank you you're the first polite person I spoke to. I said I know it's not you it's the company.

So now we have paid legal representation through our jobs and Westlake is going to be in some trouble. I'll show you why. With 8500 down you should get a better rate than nothing down. And if you do the math 529.75 a month financing divided by 20.9 percent is 111.29 in interest and month. Feb 23 I paid 529.75 2 months before first payment which 331.03 went to interest and 198.70 went to principal. On Apr 3 next payment which they harassed the hell out of me because was one day behind and that's only cause slipped my mind plus had to do phone interview with them. 2nd payment 529.73 on Apr3 which 456.62 went to interest and 73.11 to principal. Then made another early payment on April 21 for 529.73. 209.99 went to interest and 319.74 to principal. Now how in the world are these interest rates possible. 111.29 is 20.9 interest a month on 529.73.

The guy tried to say you're charged 11.48 a day in interest. Nowhere in my contract or when I talked to carlot was there 11.48nla day that's 344.40 a month. If they don't change it to 111.29 a month like it's supposed to be my attorney is ready to take them for everything. This is why our economy crashes because car lots doing stuff like this. Their own employees hate working for them. So I have paid $997.64 for 3 months I had car in interest! And only $591.55 in principal. Does that sound like 20.9 percent interest? The 150 percent interest which is totally illegal. I didn't even sign paperwork nor did lot put it in front of me they did it on computer! If anyone would like to be part of class action suit leave comment and I'll give you info! IVE ALREADY STOPPED 10 PPL FROM USING THEM! Please do not use them and ruin your life because they are thieves and employees dont even know how to explain interest to you!

A few ago my truck was destroyed by a large tree that fell in my front by thunderstorm with wind speed up to 140 miles. And a month went by with no truck. Trying to take care of my family without a vehicle. I found a good used truck in Humble, TX for 6600 and I only had 4600 to make the down payment and I was 2000 short. The Ford dealership in Humble, TX setup up with financing with Westlake Financial and they want to charge me 18.9900 rate for 24 months.

Now I will be force to pay 5197.68 in interest rates of total after two years. My payment start at 216.57 a month for two years because l did not have the cash of 2000.00 thousand dollars on me to pay off the truck. My total for my down payment and high interest rates is about 10,000.00 for a used truck that cost 6600.00. My hometown Credit Union in Waco, TX did not want to finance me 2000.00 because of my damn credit score. I cannot get a damn break in my life. I read the reviews on Westlake Financial and it was not good. Please GOD help us please.

My due date was Easter and I had received 25 calls Easter Sunday about my bill being due when my payment date isn't till the Friday after.

They are so inconsiderate and wonder why when I call I have a problem. Even after I call them and tell them that I am going to be paying my bill in a couple days I still continue to receive 5 to 20 calls a day. This happens every month. I know when my payment date is and if I am unable to make a payment on that day I do make sure I call them and advise them of that but they still call multiple times from multiple numbers throughout the day. They have gotten to the point where they robocall from local numbers and I am a high member of my community where I have people call me with personal issues and professional issues in emergencies and I can't even answer their calls because I don't know if it's a robocall or if it's an actual call.

I originally purchased my 09 Audi from a company who had me financed through Westlake back in December 2018. March 19th 2019 my car took in water during a rainstorm and my insurance company (GEICO) deemed it a total loss. I had also paid for GAP coverage through Westlake at the time I purchased the car. Well Geico did everything on their end within 3 days. The company was paid off all but about $1000. I also filed a claim for the GAP insurance the day after the adjuster came and told me the car was a total loss.

Well almost a month later, their GAP insurance still has not paid. I'm getting calls and payment reminders constantly. I'm no longer in possession of the car or title. I've called customer service and told them I have no intention on paying them any payments being the full coverage and GAP coverage should have covered it weeks ago. They told me to disregard the calls, but the calls don't stop. Nobody can seem to give me a straight answer on what is going on. This has turned into a real fiasco. Hopefully this won't affect my credit!

While I had the hope that Westlake Financial would help build my credit on several occasions they have reported that my account has been closed, which is completely false and causes my credit score to decline. I would not recommend Westlake Financial to a friend or enemy. Hardworking people don't deserve to be ripped off and made to suffer for Westlake's insensitive, uncaring, unjustified false reporting. I paid them their money and now I expect my title. Can I sue them for this? I have proof it was never sent to us, they have the right address, and I have a service I paid for through the postal service that lets me see every piece of mail I get about 24hrs or so before I actually receive it. I have even called the post office to make sure it wasn't a mix-up. Nothing was ever sent to us. Plus they record our conversations, so it would be in there that at first she told me they sent it on March 9th, and then she said March 12th. I bet they never even sent it. From the start it was nothing but problems. After my divorce it got worse. I had to make a decision on rent or car payment a couple of times so I did a few extensions. I got charged late fees, interests and a few mysterious fees they have yet to explain and won't. I was getting harassing calls... I'm not talking one or two times a day. I'm talking one every hour by their machine and I asked if they would stop calling so much. They tell me it's their automated Robo system. There's nothing that they can do about it. Shortly after I mysteriously have a cease and desist for calling on my account which means anytime I had a question they would never return my call claiming that's on my account so they can't call me.

I was in a car accident and at the time of accident my payments were caught up. I was hurt in the accident and the car was totaled which was not my fault. The other person's insurance and my Gap took care of everything except for the few extensions I had. Now mysteriously I owe almost $3,000 and yet my billing statements say differently. With my accident case my attorney had sent them documentation showing he was representing me. We had had several conference calls with Westlake and now mysteriously they claim they have no record of his documentation. But now every time I call or if he calls with me sometimes they'll talk and sometimes they won't. It's always the same answer. They either won't talk to me because I'm being represented by an attorney or when my attorneys on the phone they won't talk to me or him because he's on the phone and they claim they have no documentation. He is sent this in several times.

I finally was able to get a settlement price that they agreed upon with 30 days to pay it meanwhile they are charging me late fees and interest and then said once I pay them which had to be by MoneyGram I was not allowed to pay any way else that they are going to write it off as a charge off so my credit report is reflecting me not paying every month. They can't even keep up with their own lies. I have documentation showing several lies. I caught them in on top of the settlement agreement date. When I talk to their executive VP... I will leave it at that. They tell me the payment was to be made in March. I laughed and said, “Well the paper you sent me says April 4th 2019 and that was the date we agreed upon from the start.”

I'm to the point forget trying to get paid. I'd rather all of us Westlake customers who have been done wrong band together and get them bankrupt so they will never be able to do business again donate the money to charity works for me. I don't want any money. I just want companies to finally be held accountable for all the wrongdoing and stress they cause. With my accident, divorce, doctor's appointments, working and had to save for a new car LOL well used but it works and gets me what I need it gets very overwhelming. To all of the families who are currently or previously been taken advantage of by Westlake Financial I still have faith that soon they will no longer be able to take advantage of hard-working people like us. And maybe they will finally shut them down put them all in prison let him negotiate deals see how far it gets in there... Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of my situation.

MULTIPLE times throughout my initial payments I had tried to contact the company via email about how I could go about lowering my interest rate as well as how to make a principal payment. YOU CAN'T MAKE A PRINCIPAL PAYMENT TO SAVE YOUR GD LIFE!!! I just paid my car off completely. Sent the money overnight mail to this company. It took them 5 days to process it into my account so 5 days of interest accrued without them telling me I called so many times to make sure I would have the entire thing paid off and did everything they had told me and still I have to pay this interest for things that is taking your company time ro process??? Never did I once receive an email back ever and I've sent easily more than 10.

Multiple times I have spoke to customer service on the phone and it disconnects me or whatever foreign country telephone operating plant you have leaves me on hold for 45 minutes literally doing god knows what to answer one question. Not to mention the woman who said my interest accrued will be forgiven and my account balance terminated or the gentleman who told me to send a screenshot to an email that doesn't even exist. This company is fake, the people who answer the phones are reading from a page and can do NOOOOTHING to help you. Wish I would have known I would have been better off riding a friggin bicycle everywhere, turn and run if you ever see this company name please for your own good. Nothing but a scam here.

I thought it was simply 11 percent interest which is still high. Is this legal. If so it shouldn't be. This is criminal and a hard working person shouldn't be subjected to this.

They have been billing the correct address for years and then you send out a title to an old address. After going back and forth with a manager for the corporate number or someone with higher rank, he pretended to call the title company and in which I found out today he never call for the title per the title company says. This is how the managers treat a customer that paid over 15,000 and which customers are the reason and how they get paid.

This company is the absolute worst to deal with. I am not surprised that there have been many lawsuits made against them. The interest is disgusting and ridiculous, and it's clear that all they care about is money and nothing more; (you CANNOT convince me otherwise). I called last week to surrender my financed car due to leaving my job in November; I have not been working since then because I have been taking care of my mother who had been suffering from cancer, but I had been receiving some help to pay for the monthly payments.

I wanted to willingly surrender the car because my family and I are suffering financially. When I called last Monday, the woman I spoke to was very understanding, helpful and sympathetic. I don't remember her name, but out of the times I called the company, it seemed like she was one of the few who really took her job seriously, and I am telling you, there are many over there that DO NOT. I have been receiving endless calls from different numbers from Westlake and it is UNNECESSARY. They called me to remind me of my missed payment but I had to remind them that I called the week before to surrender my car.

The woman I spoke to seemed rude and wanted to get more money out of me. She wanted me to spend $50 to stop my phone from getting spammed with these calls. She kept pushing me to change my due date when I told her I CANNOT afford the car anymore! She proceeded to have this "Oh well" attitude towards me stating that I will be getting many more calls about this payment. If that doesn't seem like GREEDY, CARELESS behavior then I don't know what does.

My family and I have suffered more than enough within the last few months and we don't need this garbage of a company to harass us to pay them more money!!! Stay away from Westlake Financial!!! I wasn't lucky enough to given another company to work with because of the dealership I went to. Now 7 months later the car is paid off but I still have 702.00 of repo charges. I been calling for months trying to find out what the other charges are and still no one can give me a straight answer. The first time I thought maybe it got lost in the mail but not only am I at different address from the first time it's impossible for it to be a coincidence. I don't know if whoever is supposed to send the title out is extremely lazy or they gain something financially by making me go to motor vehicles to pay for a duplicate but it's frustrating and an inconvenience. It is so annoying that you won't answer any of them. I thought that you could be 3 months behind and then the calls will start. I did not sign up for this company. I was notified from them that they took over my account because they bought the original bank out. Very, very disappointed. I will never refer anyone to get a loan from this place. I was furloughed and couldn't make my payment, in order for me to put the payment at the end of the book I had to pay $50 up front. REALLY??? I just told them I was furloughed, no money coming in and on top of that I was not even behind.

Let them keep doing what they are doing because they will lose a lot of customers and for those whose car they repo in less than 3 months call the BBB and report them. Let them take your car, it will cost them more in the end because they will resell it at lesser cost, when it hits your credit report file bankrupt and get another vehicle. The cars they finance are cars with a lot of miles and cheap in cost which means you pay them their high interest and a lot of money in maintenance. The harassing with the calls are ridiculous.

This company calls repeatedly before, during the grace period and soon after for a payment. I was told a grace period did not apply although my contract stated otherwise. The vehicle had problems, however when I went to return it to the dealership, the dealership advised they could not take it back and see Westlake Financial.

I contacted Westlake Financial who is located out of the state and they told me to return to the dealership. In the meantime I received countless calls day, night, and over the weekend from random people and from different numbers. When the payment became 48 days late, they repossessed the vehicle and sold the car under half the price in which it was sold to me, more than likely due to a safety recall which caused the engine to stall upon driving it without warning or without the ability to restart and could increase the risk of a crash per Ford Motor CO (never divulged to me and explained the concern I had quickly after purchase).

Now, they have the nerve to try and come after me for the difference. I have purchased three other vehicles previously and never have had to deal with a finance company such as Westlake. I should have checked with the BBB PRIOR to dealing with them, as I later learned they have a F rating with BBB and numerous complaints similar to mine. This company is horrible and I warn anyone that if you need a vehicle financed, please stay away from them as there are considerable other companies to consider who have better customer service, is truly professional and will actually review and adhere to policy contract.

Never had a late pay on this account! 10 days after car was paid off in full To My Horror Westlake reported a late on my credit. Keep in mind they received over 9k on the loan in December. They've also received countless updates along with payments to keep account current while we waited on insurance company!

I'm very upset I did everything I could. I did everything Westlake told me. The car is paid off for 10 days and instead of reporting 0 balance you guys put I was late. I've never ever been late. Very unfair to consumers and I want you guys to fix this immediately as I had a pending loan that has now been totally jeopardized! I worked too hard to even have to go thru this.

In December of 2018 my husband was in a bad accident that resulted in a total loss of my vehicle. I was halfway done paying it off and never late on a payment. I found myself having to scramble to find another vehicle and financing. I found the car I wanted online and through the dealer got approved with WestLake. My interest rate jumped from 11 to 18.3 because the other loan still was not showing paid off. I was currently working on repairing my credit and getting caught up after being laid off. My poor credit made Westlake one of my only options. But I knew in a few months I would be able to refinance to a lower rate so I accepted the loan.

The first payment was due Jan 18th and with all of this happening right before Christmas coupled with finding out the hard way we did not have rental coverage. Things were very tight financially. The car had a small crack in the windshield which I was told was treated. As the cold set in the crack splintered across the windshield so that was another 400 out of my pocket that was unexpected. I realized I was going to have to be a little late and figured there was a grace period as with every other loan I have ever had.

Fast forward to February 8th, I get a text at nearly midnight on a Friday night that wakes me up. It is the dealer saying he reported the car stolen and I needed to surrender it immediately. What? So he proceeds to tell me about a first payment buy back clause. I have never heard of anything like this before. I tell him I will call the finance company first thing in the morning. I call them and find out more about this. The dealer never mentioned it when I was signing. You would think they would make sure you understood this considering they then have to buy the car back, repossess it etc. But nothing was ever mentioned. I was told it was on the paperwork I signed but I would not know as I still don’t have copies that were supposed to be mailed.

I end up speaking to the finance company a handful of times that morning finding out what I need to do to resolve this. I make the payment, plus late fee and service fee for paying over the phone. I had initially tried to set up my online account after I first took out the loan but after 3 calls to them about it and a day wasted I was told their website was having issues and to try back in a week. It would have been great if they told me that the first time I called. I checked and double checked with them that the issue was resolved and the account was in good standing. I also called the dealer several times and gave permission for them to talk to the dealer about the account. I was told by both companies that everything was back on track.

This morning I texted the dealer again to once again make sure that everything was good, discussed him sending me the 2nd key I never got and arranging a time to take it to the VW dealership to have it programmed. This afternoon our receptionist calls me to tell me I have a visitor about my car. I am thinking no problem. They must have got their communication crossed. The guy tells me he is there to take my car and if I resist he will call the police. I explain that it is all straightened out and proceed to call my contact at the dealer. He tells me the same thing. But what happened to everything being ok. Who repossesses a car after the account is paid? I let them take the car with all my belongings in it because I am not given a choice.

I spend the rest of the afternoon being sent back and forth between the dealer and lender both saying I need to talk to the other. The dealer gives me a contact at the lender. I call multiple times but she will not get on the phone. I notice in the email about the buyback the dealer forwarded with her contact information that they started this process a full week before. Why is this the first I hear of it and it’s apparently too late. I then see a comment from someone at Westlake that says I need to resolve this by 2/11… Today. The last girl I speak to at the lender tells me that my account is in review and there is no timeline for that and that I spoke to the wrong department over the weekend which is why I was given the wrong status on the account. Are you serious? I ask about the payment. They will not refund it and told me they never refuse a payment.

So now I am without a car, the amount of the payment and windshield I replaced and all of my belongings in the car. I really do love my car but at this point not sure I want it back as I have pretty much realized these companies are in cahoots with each other and must profit off this kind of thing. After reading the reviews it seems like it’s a fairly common practice and I will be reviewing/making complaints on the dealer next.

Now I am left with my credit showing 2 current car loans because the one that was wrecked still doesn’t show as paid off and now this one. I was told by all the lenders I spoke to today that it will be near impossible to get approved with both loans showing and another equity line I paid off still showing. My credit took a 30 point drop from all of this and I have a family of 6 and work 2 jobs and no transportation and in worse shape than I was when I started this process. This is the most frustrating and unethical situation I have ever been in as well as being humiliated at my place of business.

My attorney says he’s never heard of anything like this as well as all the lenders I spoke to today. Without the paperwork he can’t really do anything so tomorrow I will be going to the dealer to get answers, my things and the paperwork. I am truly disgusted and shocked that this company can get away with this shady business practice. It’s disturbing. Only gave 1 star because it wouldn't let me give none.

I was with Honor Finance then from what I was told went out of business. Since I have been dealing with these people it's been a horrible experience. They are charging me NSF charges when I have never given them a check. I have always given them my debit card and all my payments have always gone through so where is the NSF charge coming from. I didnt have this problem with Honor Finance. They were nice and professional. I start dealing with these people and jeesh my blood pressure has gone up after dealing with these sharks. They are rude and unprofessional.

Vanessa attempted to make me respond yes when I clearly agreed to make a payment by saying ok that obviously means I agree. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand that. She was rude, tried to cut me off, didnt want to hear what I had to say about these bogus NSF charges. I truly can't wait 'til this loan is up with these people. They are horrible. They continuously harass me by blowing up my phone from 7 am until evening time even on weekends. It's ridiculous and I have made arrangements to pay but I still keep getting harassing calls which I was told I will get the calls till I pay and again I made arrangements. I didnt get treated like this by Honor Finance. They were always nice! Mind you I am just a co-signer, not even my car. Horrible business!!

I was called by a Mark ** from Westlake Financial Services starting Jan 25 2019. Mark ** he completely drove me crazy. Blowing up my phone trying to get a hold of me. He also sent me voice message telling me my loan was approved and it was 5000 with no Gimmicks or hidden charges at 3% interest. He instructed me to give him a call back as soon as possible. He did this four times a day for three days told drove me absolutely crazy.

So finally called him and told him he was a Nuisance and I wasn’t sure I could afford the loan after all. He would have to give me a day or two that was it. Then 3 min later he told me he also Secured a car loan for me for $10,000 on a used car at 4% interest. He would forward my payments until June and run them both together to make it one solid payment and it would be $225 a month can I have for that? It was looking good and he did seem so helpful. So when he called me back the next day and offered to put the 481.90 check into my account I said ok it was a good faith moneys.

Then that Sat morning Mark calls me demanding I withdraw the 481 USA dollars out of my account and get Google cards from Rite Aid and send the scratch off numbered to him by phone to him by, getting two cards one for 290$ and 191$ total 490.00$ leaving me overdrawn!? Mark ** says to me as he hangs up to stay close to my phone. The wire transfer for 5000 will be on its way in 45 mins and the paperwork will be in Monday’s mail. Just sign and return it. Never did I hear from him nor could I call him.

Then I look up the site and address on this check or wire transfer to find out it’s a real company. So I emailed them and explain myself as I have here only to get an email back saying it had to be late today so they can look into it and when I called them I could get on to any person. It just keep on redirecting me for a day or two. I’ve never had this resolved yet nor does it look like I’m going to need to talk to somebody entire command. I just wanna let you guys know field in the world not to work, not to mess with this company because it’s all a scam These people take senior citizens whom are on a fixed budget and scam us not just once but twice if you let them. Updated on 02/12/2019: Ok so Westlake financial updated my TransUnion credit report this week. It now says balance is 0. I paid it off in December of 2018. However they told Equifax that it was not closed and that my balance is over $4000 when I disputed it. Apparently one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Westlake you sent me my clear title and a letter stating that the loan was paid in full. Stop playing games with my credit! I will never deal with this company again.

Original Review: Paid off our loan December 1st, promptly received the title and a letter stating the loan was paid. Problem is with their credit reporting. This is still on my credit reports as a current loan, balance over 4000. This has sent our credit score plummeting. We had excellent credit ratings and now they are only good. I wish Westlake would step up their game. We are trying to buy a house. Also they don't refund your gap if you pay off early in some states. So make certain you read your contract, page 2 to know if it's refundable in your state.

Not ideal customer service but pretty typical of loan sharks. However, today I spoke with Erik **. I was dealing with a NSF fee that was unnecessary and this was my second call to try and take care of it. Originally I was told the fee would fall off and to not worry about it. I called back today because it has been a month and we are getting calls to ask how we want to pay our accruing fees. I called and Erik helped with the account. He dealt with every question effectively and gave me his name at the end so I can speak to him personally should something go wrong after today. Very good service.

Bought a van awhile back. I deferred a few payments but was never told that at the end of loan I would have a balloon payment!!! So I got to my last payment, got a call from them to remind me that my payment was due and it would be 777.00... I about had a heart attack. They said once I paid that my loan would be paid in full and I would receive my title in 30 days. I made the payment and guess what? NO TITLE!!! I called them to be told I still owed 365.00 in imaginary fees!!! If that was the case why was I not told this when I made the last payment. Well I was told that my loan was paid no worry about repo but I would not receive my title until I paid 365 more. What **! So it's been probably about 4 yrs. I argued until I was blue in the face. They will not give me the title so on my credit report it shows a charge of collection. It looks like a repo which is not right...

I talked to a laywer and nobody has the balls to go up against this scum company... Now the van sits in my driveway and is undrivable and I can't do anything with it with no title... It has a blown head gasket. And I will tell everyone I know or meet that try to finance a car to not finance a car through them... The DMV told me they have heard of a lot of people getting screwed out of their titles and people need to stay the hell away from this shady company!!! And was told that I need to find a good laywer and go after these people. DMV TOLD ME THIS! SHAME ON WESTLAKE FINANCIAL FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF INNOCENT PEOPLE!!!

I, luckily, am not one of the people who has had to deal with this bank - since I buy all my vehicles outright. However I recently purchased a used vehicle from a dealership in MA. The title to the vehicle was supposed to be in on January 4th. I was told by the dealer that the bank was holding up the title and it would be in that week. I took possession of the vehicle and registered it with 20 day temp plates in my state. Several days later I found out Westlake held the title for the vehicle and I wanted to know what the hold up was.

I called and spoke to a very rude individual who indicate the dealership had only just paid off the vehicle to Westlake and the title wouldn’t be released until January 23rd; with the dealer receiving it early February. I indicated several times that I owned the vehicle now; not Westlake and with Westlake holding up the title it was preventing me from permanently registering my car. I was basically told “too bad”. I told this to the dealership who denied the claim that the vehicle was only just paid off several days after I even bought it - and judging by these reviews I’m more apt to believe the dealership instead of Westlake.

On January 15th the dealer called me and further confirmed Westlake wouldn’t be releasing the title until January 23rd and the dealer wouldn’t get it until early February. As a result I had to contact my DMV and plead for them to make an exception in my case since my temp plates would be expired before the title arrived. Absolutely horrendous company when it comes to releasing titles. If the title is not received in a timely manner to the dealer - which my state DMV is now expecting from the dealer, then there will be further action taken.

So my husband was trying to rebuild his credit, yes he had to go with a subprime lender, but the contract was made with Honor Finance. We paid every month early, in fact, we were paid ahead by 6 months. Never an issue on the loan. Come the end of August '18, I attempt to log in and pay ahead another few months when there is a notice that Westlake Portfolio Management has now assumed the servicing of the loan. No big deal, set up a new login, but during the conversion I notice our payments were not applied correctly, as they had been before. We had paid ahead with the previous company, but you could designate if you wanted that to be applied as a principal payment only, or per monthly payment so the daily interest would be paid. We chose the latter so the interest would be paid monthly and not add up.

During the conversion, it was switched to a lump sum payment and no interest was paid. Never got that fixed. Fast forward to the end of the year, the payment is up to date, but my husband was laid off and we were afraid we wouldn't have enough to make the whole payment. We call and ask for a deferment for the Jan payment, before it was even due, trying to be proactive. We were informed that we had to wait until the payment was one day late before the system would even allow the request to be made. We call back one day later and we are told because he hasn't made 6 on-time payments he isn't eligible unless he pays $50.

We have made 2 years of on-time payments! They don't count all of our previous payment history with Honor, only with them. So, we put in the request, wait all week, get more collection calls, finally we get a CSR that looks at the notes and sees we have requested the deferment over a week ago. Transferred to a Ms. **, supervisor, who assures my husband with the $50 payment made and the request submitted, his deferment was approved and there was no late fee as well, since the previous info of having to be past due by one day before the request can be made was incorrect.

Now the next day, today, my husband receives a phone call from their collections that he is past due and how would he like to pay? This is ridiculous. I have worked in loans for many years, including originations and servicing, as well as collecting on those loans, and never have I encountered such incompetence and lack of understanding. They claim to be a loan company, but from my research they appear to be a buyer of subprime loan packages to add to their servicing portfolio.

They hire cheap labor, give them minimum training on the nature of loans, and apparently instruct them to just collect by any means. I understand they now own some car lots, but once again, we are talking about JD Byrider and lots like that that have went out of business or have made so many bad loans they can't stay afloat. Beware, I do NOT recommend anyone get a loan through these people, and if by some cruel act of fate your loan gets bought by them or transferred to them for servicing, get out of it ASAP!

Purchased a vehicle from a dealership, asking cash price $8861, down payment $3500, amount financed with Westlake Services $5399, finance charge $2435 (23.39%). 1st of 39 payments due 12/7/18 $200.91. Westlake contacted us via text with a Reminder on 12/7/18 that the payment was due and ask to press 1 to pay now or 2 to unsubscribe.

Husband having tried to set up auto pay unsuccessful decided to pay this way. Pressed one to pay the 1st payment. Was ask a few questions such as how he would like to pay, bank info, amount, and security questions etc. Ended the conversation with a confirmation and goodbye. Thinking the payment had been made we skip to the 2nd payment. Now it was due on 1/7/19. He called the bank's auto services to make payment because he had not received a text this time. He was told that the loan had been paid off. Balance zero. Thinking this was a mistake he calls and could only get told it was paid in full.

His job being what it is required him to wait till he got home to try and figure out what was wrong. Morning of 1/10/19 he’s on the phone trying to figure things out and make payment. I must add that during the month of Dec & January he got calls from the bank about things but never about a late payment or anything about account being in danger.

Before he could get in touch with Someone the day he returned home from work 1/10/19 to find out how to make 2nd payment the car was repossessed. Our 16-year-old call after school and said her car was not where she parked it and thought we had came and picked it up to put the new tires on, which we had planned but buy it off another day. We thought it had been stolen. Never thinking it was repossessed because we thought the 1st payment was paid on 12/7/18 then the 2nd payment was only 3 days late and he had been trying to make the payment since 1/7/19.

1st I go get my child who was stranded at school then he gets on the phone and finally finds out that Westlake sold our loan back to the dealer before the 2nd payment came due. They claim they never received the 1st payment on 12/7/18. After going back and forth with bank & Westlake we found out that the payment was never taken from our account. Now I must admit that we should’ve been more careful on making sure the 1st payment was received or even maybe making sure the money was taken from the bank or worked harder to find out why we couldn’t make the 2nd payment. But why was we never notified about anything being wrong or missed payments. Why or where did that text come from and who might have our account info?

All we know at this moment after 20 calls to Westlake and a few to the dealer is that the loan was voided and the dealer was forced to buy the loan after the 1st payment was never received. The dealer has told us to bring him what he paid the bank and the recovery fee, $5700 & we can have the car back. I must point out that the only reason we used Westlake was because we had no option but to get financed with this company who was charged a arm and a leg. But it’s not their fault we have less than perfect credit. That’s our fault. But it is their fault for not communicating with us there was a problem.

I’m hoping someone with Westlake will reach out to us with a resolution. In the meantime we are doing everything we can to get my daughter's car back. And I’m hoping someone will read this and learn from our mistakes... research these banks that over to help you with less than perfect credit because I’m researching now and I understand why we are in this horrible place. Can anyone tell me if the bank or dealership did anything illegal? Can the dealer really buy back a loan from a bank and then repo your car without even a call? Help me understand someone, anyone?

I paid this loan off on Nov 27th. As of Tuesday, Jan 8th I still have not received the title. I’ve called several times and had to deal with the rudest customer service reps I’ve ever seen. If there was a lower rating than 1-star, I’d use it. Westlake Financial Services’ customer service is horrible. Every single customer person I’ve spoken to is beyond rude and acts like you’re a second-rate citizen. It gets worse if you dare ask questions. No matter how desperate you are for financing, steer clear of this company at all costs.

Currently I’m a customer with Westlake Financial for over a year and a half. During that time I have never made a late payment and always stayed of top of my finances to make to make sure that there wasn’t any issues. The problem began on 12-18-18 when I called to get a buyout amount for my current vehicle. I clearly remember asking the representative to give me the total amount that I will need to make the check for plus any other cost that will be included in regards to amount of time the check will take to get to their office. They assured me that the current amount was accurate and that they will be no issue if they receive a check for the same amount. The check was mailed out on 12-19-18 and after several days I called the company to make sure that they had received to check.

After many aggravating calls no one was able to help me in regards to knowing anything about the check, keep in mind this is after I received confirmation from UPS that the check was delivered and UPS even give me the name of the person who signed for the delivery. Long story short I ended up with an additional balance that they claim that I will have to pay in order to clear up this depth.

My advice to anyone reading this is simple, I know how it feel to get the car of your dream or even the car you need to get by on a daily basis. Firstly Westlake Financial have one of the highest rate in the industry, their customer service personnel is somewhat helpful depending on the individual you are speaking to and the company is not trustworthy when it comes to their customers, it seems that all they care about is making as much money as possible even if it means ripping off their customers.

I hope that this explanation is enough to consider using another financing company, if not just look at the reviews online, which proves some of the lowest customer satisfaction in the industry. I wish that I would have looked up the reviews before doing business with this company and I really appreciate that Westlake usually reaches out to their customers in regards to this type of reviews. What I would recommend to the company is to actually try and help their clients so that they will be less issues when it comes to customer satisfaction, so there is no need to respond in order to correct this problem also I couldn't give a single star because clearly Westlake Financial doesn't deserve it.

I am 19 years old and was proud as ever when I was able to purchase my very own vehicle for the first time. Little did I know what I got myself into when I agreed to terms with this company. I paid 60% of my first months payment and always kept up to date with my email to see if anything would go wrong but I got no email. I apparently received "tons of phone calls" but I reassure you I did not. Checked the app and it added the rest of that months payment onto the next, you'd think after not being contacted that it would mean everything was fine? NO. Walk into work to a random man asking everybody for my location, harassed almost. I then decided to surrender my vehicle and make the rest of the payment immediately but no that isn't honorable.

This company has no moral compass when trying to reason with their customers. And now at the age of 19 I have completely ruined my credit for the rest of my life over 80 dollars. Westlake has no remorse in their actions to a young man like me and never in a million years would I ever recommend this place to ANYONE. A very well deserved two star company that has nothing but the worst headed for them with continuous terrible actions made to their customers. I was told by the underwriting dept to wait till they verified my information with the dealership or my payment would not be properly credited. Then collections Sept said I was late. Good morning. Today is January the 2nd. I'm doing my video review only because I feel like writing this would be too long. At any case, I've been with Westlake Financial for two years. I've never fallen behind. I've actually paid ahead a month with them. Lost my job December of last year, December 2017. Still maintained my loan up to September. October, I wasn't able to pay because I'm in transition of work. However, November 23rd, I made a payment. They also took two payments out, which I had to fight for for them to reimburse me. That week alone, I spoke to at least six representative. Only one was very nice, and cordial, and assisted me in getting my refund for the second payment. I wish when I explained to everyone I would have my account up to date December 28th with my second check, it should have been documented, but however, it wasn't. The last rep I spoke to, which was the collections account manager, for me, she was very upset that I wasn't able to pay my second payment, and that I didn't have it in the month of November. I advised her to document my account that I will pay both payments December 28th. Come to find out, she would never document anything. What she did is have my account signed up for repossession after a month passed due. The month of December is not even over yet, and I wake up December 31st, and my vehicle is gone. Why? I do believe that Westlake Financial is unethical in taking care of their customers and not up to par whatsoever as far as [unclear 00:01:40] is concerned. Not only did she repossess my vehicle, but for the month of December, she had me on the auto-dialer receiving millions of phone calls each day from different numbers. Asking me when I was planning to pay and how much I was going to pay, I finally said, "I'm logged in as we speak, will post the payment now." And hung up. I'm 100% sure I have a grace period! Why are they calling me the next day asking if I'm going to pay? I always pay extra to try to pay this off ASAP. I was hoping to keep this lender until the balance was paid. But I after 3 months I can't handle this anymore. Already speaking to the other lenders I've used in the past in hopes to refinance ASAP and never have to deal with Westlake again!

The entire customer service department at Westlake needs to be retrained so that everyone has the exact same information. Last week I called to voluntarily surrender my vehicle because of illness and not being able to return to work and falling behind two payments. This week my parents agreed to make the payments and get me caught up. I called Westlake last night to cancel the surrender setup for Friday and inform them that the payment would be made. The young lady said I can definitely assist you with that, but be mindful that if you do not get caught up by the end of this month the vehicle will go up for repo review. I said I do understand and she placed me on hold and then the call dropped out.

I called them back this morning to determine if the young lady from last night had canceled the request to find out that she had not. So, I explained the situation to the new rep and she told me 8 times that the payment was 40 days behind and could go up for repo review at anytime. I constantly explained to her that I understood and that I would make the payment I just didn't want the surrender to still take place on the 14th. I even tried to explain to her that the young lady I spoke to last night had given me wrong information and that the gentlemen that even setup the surrender request had given me different information than she was stating. She just kept telling me about 40 days behind and a repo review. She was rude and unprofessional.

If the policy is 40 days behind causes for a repo review then I am fine with that and I understand it completely, but the previous two reps should have informed me of that instead of telling me I couldn't go beyond this month. Second, if I call to handle a transaction then my request should be taking care of and if there is a negative consequence to my request then yes it should be disclosed, but once I inform you that I understand and it will be taken care of there is no reason to repeat yourself continuously and then get to the point of yelling.

I bought my vehicle from Auto Direct (Houston, TX). I was to pay $3200 down when they received approval from Westlake. I paid the down payment; provided insurance binder... And left with the vehicle. I received a phone call week later from Westlake Verification Department. They pulled verification question screens from Experian. Today, the car dealership had a towtruck come get my vehicle. I had to make multiple phone calls before someone at Westlake told me that I failed a verification question.

Granted, I have FRAUD ALERTS on all three bureaus; I have the police reports, can verify who I am and they are refusing to provide me with a second verification quiz. The dealership is refusing to give me down payment... So I am out down payment; vehicle and am hit with 11 inquiries due to their lack of professionalism. I am filing a FTC complaint and legal action as legally they must provide additional verification tests.

I originally had a loan with Honor Finance. Normally I would make my payment with the office here in Las Vegas. One day I entered to make my payment as usual and all that was posted on the door was to mail your payment into their department in Il. I did just that. Thinking everything was fine. As I sent in a payment of 700 worth. Then come Friday November 9. I woke up to my car gone. No call. No voicemails of them trying to contact me. Not even letter in the mail... After learning about the change when I called to see what had happen to my car. They would said they aren't responsible for them not informing about the change in company and that they never received the payment.

After getting my money order reissued I sent it priority. It shows it was received on the 11/21/18. Now every time I have tried to call since I get a "we are closed" message... With no other way of contacting to get my car reinstated to me even though I had paid off my past due payments... They will not help you. They simply demand the money up front. Then leave you with no way to get ahold of them, despite their website clearly stating they are opened from 5 am to 2 pm Pacific time Saturdays and Sundays... And I live in the same time zone!

As of now I've been threatened by one person there and as soon as I can pay my loan off it will be for being so technically advanced. That's a bunch of bs if they can't put in for an extension so they end up calling every day several times a day just for me to get mad as I tell them the same thing over and over. I'm sorry but if the other company did it one way you have to continue to do it that way unless you make the customer aware of the changes per lawyer's advice but bad customer service must be their top priority.

3 months after I got a loan through Westlake for a vehicle the vehicle broke down. I contacted Westlake and they stated there was nothing they could do that I owed for the vehicle whether or not it was worthless, which it was. I had been sold a vehicle that had a broken engine and Westlake didn't care. Jump to 6 months later I stopped making payments on the car because I had to get another vehicle to get to work. I was sent a letter stating if I gave them a specific amount they would consider the loan settled. This is after they had already taken the car.

Today 3 months later, I received another letter stating I still owed an amount and that once again, I could pay a settled amount and they will consider it paid. I am now going to seek legal counsel because when I call to make the payment the gentleman on the other end said that this would take care of my debt. I also know that all call center calls are recorded so all my lawyer has to do is request that conversation.

Westlake has been good to me thus far into my loan, I pay ahead of time and they send me reminder calls every month. But today was different, I called to have my Due date moved closer to my payday (first time I've ever asked them for anything). The broken English speaking women on the other end of the line was very inconsiderate and undertrained on customer service. She didn't allow me to speak or ask question and when I did she would say "just be silent, I tell you about term". UH HELLO, the customer needs to ask questions before you go over any terms. When I would ask her things about the change in interest or if I could have the due date on a particular day she would just act like she didn't hear me and say "ok you change to 15-21 day, which one". Bottom line the language barrier and no interest in helping me was very annoying as a customer. Her only goal was to get me off the phone & I don't appreciate that.

My loan was previously serviced by Honor Finance. I received a letter stating that it would now be serviced by Westlake Financial, after I had mailed a payment to Honor Finance. Somehow, that payment was lost or never applied. I received several phone calls from random phone numbers, and they never leave a message. I finally answered one at 8:30 AM, and found it to be a robo-call from Westlake asking me to hold for the next available agent. 22 minutes later, I was still sitting at my desk at work on hold.

Of course, the next day I walked out to a missing vehicle. Again, no letter, voicemail or letter left. Upon calling I was informed that my vehicle was repossessed for $380 (my payment is $280), but in order to get it back I was forced to pay that, plus the current payment and over $400 in fees. THEN, still had to call every few hours to see if the release paperwork was processed yet.

When I asked if I could get a call when it was done, I was told no. I pointed out that it would be good customer service if they could make the one call when it was done vs. me having to take several breaks at work to call, wait through prompts and re-verify my information each time. The response I got was, "We don't provide customer service." I cannot believe that a company would ever allow their employees to say such a thing (of course I've heard worse from them). I miss Honor Finance, as they really did provide excellent service, they would leave a voicemail if I couldn't answer; text when they knew it was my work hours, and email to follow up.

I recently purchased a car in Hawaii with Westlake Financial as the finance company. I called in to inquire about my first payment and they told me the date and I asked that if I were to pay after the grace period what would happen. They told me that a late fee would be added or 5% of the payment amount. They did not mention repossession. I had an unexpected tax emergency and I wasn't able to pay it until 11 days past the grace period. I'm thinking I'm ok because I would only incur a late fee. I wake up to the dealer banging on my door wanting to repossess the car. I called Westlake explaining the situation and the hardship but they were not willing to offer any type of compromise. I paid the 1 month payment that was past due (not even close to 30 days) and called the dealer with the confirmation number.

The dealer stated that Westlake will not continue the loan even after the grace period payment was received and is forcing them to take the car back. I even offered to pay Westlake two months in advance but they still decided to send the loan back for recourse. I have documentation on my entire situation but they still didn't budge. I am out on a large down payment and I now have no means of transportation with no way to getting my kids to school or me and my wife to work. Westlake Does Not Care About Its Consumers!!! I don't care how bad your credit situation may be but stay away from this predatory lender. They said that they have the right to default the contract but my lawyer nor myself are not seeing that in the contract that I signed. It stated that arbitration would take place but I've had not been given any chance to compromise with Westlake. I guess we are just victims of their analytic based decisions.

I got my car in 6/2017 and Westlake Financial Services already is giving me problems. I sent a certified mail to pay the car payment and it was delivered on 10/13/18 by the US Postal Service. Westlake Financial did not give me a full credit on the principal, they only applied an amount of $55 and the remainder of $398.61 was applied to interest.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act has clearly been violated and a complaint will be filed accordingly. My car note bill is due on the 17th of every month. So, why did it take them 5 days to credit my payment and make it show as late? Predatory lending is what has transpired here and I'm sure this is happening to a lot of other customers. I am very disappointed with the practices of this company, and the federal government needs to step in and do something to assist the consumer. I refuse to speak to them by telephone, everything will be done by written correspondence. I am giving them 14 days to apply the full amount to be credited toward the principal balance, or an attorney will be contacted.

We called up Westlake Financial and were very upset to find this out and got Jessica (poor thing). She was very professional the whole time and believe me I was very upset to say the least to find out that they considered it a repossession. My husband had to talk to her because I was so upset.

Jessica still dug into what was going on and took our account to several upper management and found out that it was picked up by WF but it was not a repossession it was picked up to be assessed by their insurance department. She helped us file the claim with their insurance department and now we are all on the same page and we are going to get our totaled car paid off and everything taken care of. If Jessica had just done the minimum effort this would still be a mess. She went the extra mile for us and it was at the end of the day and I am sure it had been a long day for her. People like Jessica need to be praised for their hard work and I can't thank her enough for digging deeper and getting the right management involved. My car was total-out on 8/23/2018. Westlake told my insurance carrier that I did have GAP insurance, then they gave GAP a different payoff quote from the insurance carrier. They also have different remaining balancing on the account, none of the numbers match up. They repoed my car in December of 2017 with payment arrangement made, then applied the repossession fees to the car payment once and still charged me the repossession fees. The car payment stated the same for 3 months, then I learned after the car was totaled out they were charging me interest a day on the account, when I was informed by them I had a 10 grace period before the car note was considered late. They state the car has a remaining balance of $3000.00 on my account but quoted other dealers $3500.00.

I called customer service and insurance claims with GAP on the phone with Westlake, Westlake could not give an explanation to the extra charges, the payoff amount, or the quotes given GAP insurance for the remaining balance. First, I was told I needed to speak back to customer service by the insurance claims rep, once I informed her customer service told me I had to speak with insurance claims, GAP and myself was then told I needed to speak with an supervisor, we was on hold for 1 1/2 and still no supervisor, then the rep Lori in insurance claims told me that the supervisor will call me back the same day or the next day.

It's been 2 days now. My attorney has reached out to them and myself, with no callback from the supervisor or explanation to the extra charges or the original payoff balance sent to the insurance carrier and GAP. I am being ripped off. No one at Westlake can give me an explanation of the different charges on my account and why they sent different payoff quotes to my insurance company and GAP, why was I being charged interest a day. They could not give an explanation for anything regarding my account. I wish I would have known this before I chose them as my lien holder.

Why are all these stories sounding familiar? Why does this scam sound like a lawsuit waiting to happen? Something stinks, and it won't be long before we're checking to see what it is... in court. We could all use the money. I have one payment left. My credit report does not support these morons' claim of delinquency. Do they think that some of us getting in a credit bind makes us stupid? If so, that's a pretty good indication as to your own level of intelligence. You wanna draw the wrong kind of attention to shady business? Then keep harassing the people that were actually paying on time. I promise you, when I'm done, you'll be paying for a house, cars, and all the toys. OR, you can take your last payment and send me my ** title: easy. I don't believe in coincidence, side effect of being in the U.S. military. No story sounds this remarkably similar to all others. My car loan was transferred to this company a couple months ago as the original finance company was going out of business apparently... Sounds a little shady from everything else I’ve read… Kind of sounds like they have sub company said they open up, run, and then shut down so they can absorb the business. Anyways... They had me sign a deferment agreement for the month of September providing I pay my past balance for August and my account would be current. I signed the agreement and then realized that the dates were incorrect and now they tell me that it was based off of an approval which I was never told nor does it state that in the agreement letter and now they are telling me I’m still in default and that the deferment was not approved and they are not offering any more extensions for October.

If they are not offering extensions in October then why was I given one and never told it was based off of a manager approval nor was it listed in the agreement. I expect the agreement to be honored and my deferment held as agreed for payment of August held up, September payment deferred, and acct brought current with next payment due 10/17/2018, as I was told by your representative. as you can see, this “agreement” says nothing about needing an approval and appears to state its a legitimate deferment.

My loan was transferred to Westlake Financial. Worst experience ever. The first 2 months of my loan were spent on the phone arguing, faxing proof of payments that they claimed they never received a fax for, more phone calls and emailing proof of payments that I had made to my prior loan company. They CLAIMED they never received the payments from the prior loan company. That took hours of my time to resolve. Now, a driver totaled my vehicle, the insurance adjuster sent over a guaranteed release of title which they couldn't find, then they did.

Typical incompetency again. Settlement check was mailed on 9/18/18, and I am continuing to receive collection calls. Called to find out why, they CLAIM once again, that they never received the check and they've been calling the adjuster and leaving voicemails to find out why. BULL. Adjuster has received no phone calls or voicemails from them, and I'm sure that check is sitting somewhere in someone's office so that they can rack up interest and continue collection on my account when they have had the money for a month. WORST COMPANY EVER. RUN LIKE YOUR HAIR IS ON FIRE IF THEY TRY TO GET YOU TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They need to process the check and release my title. The adjuster said she has never seen a company operate like this and neither have I.

So Westlake called me... FINALLY! NOT the guy who lied and said that he was going to talk to the supervisor to look into my account. This is my response to that phone call! On my review they sent me a message saying the same thing they post on everyone's reviews. This is my response to that as well as my response to their phone call today:

I have TRIED to contact you all. I actually WAITED for you all to call ME... Like the liar said he was going to do. He NEVER called and the next thing I know my truck is being repoed! And I have not missed a payment at all! Someone called me today and told me that I have to pay over 400.00 repo fees... And I was making my payments therefore I had no idea that my truck could be in danger of being repoed! If the rude liar I spoke to the other day would have told me that rather than tell me that he and the supervisor were going to look into my case and get back to me I could have prepared.

I had almost all of the money to get my truck paid for, yes paid! NOW I have to come up with the extra money to get it out of the tow yard! They are just being bullies now! They repoed my truck once before, and I had just made a payment. My payment was late but I made the payment on a Thursday or Friday and then my truck was repoed that Sunday night. Guess who had to pay the towing fees! Yes, that would be ME! Even though they admitted it was their fault! That is ok though. This time I will let them deal with my lawyer!

I have been paying for my truck for about 4 years now. I had to defer a few payments in the beginning but for the past at least 2 years I have been making ALL of my payments on time every month. No one told me that by putting those payments off until the end of the loan that I would have to make all of that and the late fees all at one time! We found out that they were putting us on a past due with the credit bureau. Even though the rude guy that I spoke with confirmed that we had in fact made regular payments every month but we would still have to pay that whole almost 2000.00 all at once or it would keep going against our credit. The supervisors were busy so he told me that he would speak to the supervisor and get back to me with what they had decided to do. NOT ONE TIME DID HE SAY ONE WORD ABOUT A POSSIBLE REPO OF MY TRUCK!!!

While I am working out of town my husband calls me and tells me that there is a man there to repo my truck!!! No one ever called me back and I was unable to get anyone when I tried to call in between work to inform them that I would be able to just pay the whole balloon payment as they call it off by the end of this week. They sent a repo order saying that we were behind when we have been making payments of 50.00 over our scheduled monthly payments... WE HAVE NOT MISSED A PAYMENT!!!

I was told by the man I spoke with before this last rude guy that we should just keep making our payments like we had been. NO ONE EVER SAID ONE WORD ABOUT MY VEHICLE GETTING REPOED! Now I have to pay a repo fee along with the balance payoff to get out from under these crooks! I have heard how they wait until a vehicle is almost paid off then they repo it or demand a balloon payment so they can get it back to resell it. I will NEVER recommend that ANYONE EVER use these CROOKS! Only a low life crook would repo a vehicle from someone when they are about to make a final payment and pay their vehicle off! I have contacted a lawyer to deal with them because they cannot get away with this!

I have a car loan through Westlake Financial. I called and talked to a rep. and made a half payment on my car on 9/14. I authorized a payment of $160. I then receive an email of two transactions of $160 and $380 about 15 minutes later. I called back to get the $380 back, but was told to call back Monday 9/17. I called back Monday morning, I told the rep. what happened on 9/17. He said they could wire the $380 back into my account, he just needed my routing and account number, which I give him. He said to expect the money back in my account within three business days.

I called back on 9/21 in the morning, the rep. said I should have it by the end of the day, which never happened. I called back the same day around 4:45 pm. The rep I talked to could not help me, so I asked him I wanted to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor got on the phone and she said they were mailing a check. I told her too that I had called on 9/17 and gave the rep. my checking account info.

She then put me on hold, came back and said that she did see the notes from 9/17, and she would have to talk to accounting to have a stop placement on the check that was to be mailed out, and that they would wire the $380 into my account within 3 business days. Today is 9/22. I am writing this long review because I want other people who have Westlake Financial as their loan company to be aware that there seems to be zero communication, and the reps have no idea how to debit an account, since mine was debited twice without my authorization as you can see from my review. I unfortunately am stuck with Westlake for now. I had to give them one star, but would give Westlake a zero if possible.

Westlake Financial is a ridiculous excuse for a finance company. We have been making payments for several years on this account. We had a hail storm that totaled the vehicle. We called in and spoke to the representative to let them know the insurance company would be contacting them about a payoff and to shut off all future automatic payments. The insurance company corresponded with them, got the payoff amount and had us notarize a power of attorney and letter stating the title should be sent to them after payoff. All of this before the next payment should have been due.

Westlake proceeded to take an additional payment from our account. My wife called in to try to get it resolved, was transferred around and put on hold and told we would need to wait 21 days for the check to be cut and mailed. I don’t know about anyone else but if someone took your money that shouldn’t have would you wait 21 days? They took the money immediately electronically and incorrectly. They should return it immediately and electronically not hold it for what is over a month when you count nonbusiness days.

My wife was hung up on at least 2 times. We emailed the customer care email and 12 days later still have received no response. We have tried to call every day and get put on hold so long it disconnects us. We finally get a hold of someone today and try to get it resolved. The person tells us she understands and she can do nothing.

After holding for a supervisor for over an hour and a half and getting very upset and asking for the supervisor’s supervisor if necessary we finally get a supervisor who talks over us. This made my husband angry and he began yelling after being talked over again and again. Westlake will take your money and make you wait to get it back but if you owe them they will expect you pay immediately! The truck has been paid off, they have their money and are holding mine. They refuse to let you speak to anyone who has any authority to help you. They expect you to be ok with them holding hundreds of dollars for over a month that does not belong to them.

Westlake is financing a car I bought at a dealership just about 2 weeks ago. I haven't even made my first payment yet (NOT FOR LACK OF TRYING!!) and I already hate this company. I have tried every single way possible to make a payment on this vehicle and cannot make one! The app tells me my account has special circumstances and I need to call a 1800 number. The website won't accept a payment either. So I call the 1800 number and I can't make a payment using the automated system! It tells me I have to speak to a representative!

How a company can claim to have "convenient payment options" then deny you every single one of those options is beyond me. I work 8-5 so when exactly do I have time to talk to a representative? I want to make a payment at my CONVENIENCE which you claim to allow. I will never allow any dealership to take me through these people again. The interest rate is ridiculous also considering I have decent credit. I will pay twice what my car is worth by the time I am done paying for this. Awful people.

Also, while I was WORKING which they KNOW I DO, they called for the account verification questions 3 times within ONE hour while I was at work. I got off and heard the voicemails and already felt scared and bullied by this company. I wasn't avoiding them, I was WORKING. Yet they don't have the decency to give me the convenient payment options they promised. ** company.

They gave me a number to call so they can give me the car back. When I called the number they told me it had been released to auction and to call Westlake, well I called them and they have no clue where my car is at. They keep hanging up on me or redirecting me to different reps... I just want my car back!!!

No matter how desperate you are, don’t do it. Not with them. Customer service is also not the best. They have lied to me several times. I am depressed over this loan.

I never heard anything for at least 4 months and finally I got a phone call telling me I was in default. I had no information on how or where to make a payment to. When I was finally able to speak to someone, I started making my payment again, no payment book, only my receipt where I did it from Walmart. I have had this car since 2013 and went out today and it was gone. Called and was told I had applied for more credit? What a crock. I have read other reviews of the same thing and worse happening from this place. Was warned that you never get the title to the vehicle either.

I opened an account with Westlake Financial some time last year for an Acadia and everything was great despite reviews and people I had talked to who warned me. I never had a bit of an issue. Customer service was always friendly and helpful and everything was good. In February I found out I was expecting again and I needed to upgrade to a larger car so I went to the same dealership and found a perfect match. I financed again with Westlake. I was sort of concerned because I had to put $4,000 down because my old loan wasn’t “old enough”, but it was doable so it got done.

A few weeks later my husband had to go out of town for work so I went with him being so pregnant I’m no longer working and we took our kids. During the time our payment was due but it didn’t cross our minds and we didn’t receive a call. We even called them about our license plate and it wasn’t mentioned. We get home and get our mail and realized we were days away from our payment so we immediately called to pay and they told us our loan was up for review and making a payment wouldn’t help. Then the dealership called and told us our loan was being thrown out and we would lose the Acadia we traded in, our $4,000 down payment, and our new car leaving us with 6 children and ZERO vehicles.

I’m going to be having a baby, with a heart condition nonetheless, any day now and this is way too much on my plate. I can’t seem to get any answers about my loan. The dealership wants us to go to another bank for a loan but we would just like to resolve the one we have. We have called Cynthia ** a thousand times trying to come up with a plan or set up automatic payment but she will not answer or return calls. I have no idea where to go from here. I guess legal advice would be the only way to go.

I purchased my Jeep March of 2017 through Westlake Financial company. I have made all my payments on time and even paid it off 13 months after purchase on Feb 24 2018. My finance agreement was for 2 years. They sent me a pay off letter and my title but will not submit whatever it is to have it took off my credit. I just looked at my credit on Monday July 23rd 2018 to ask them why they have not closed the line of credit after I paid it off in Feb.

They gave me numerous stories and the runaround for days! So they told me it would come off my credit in 3 to 5 business days then another rep told me 3 weeks. Now I have been told it should be off by Monday. I will never go through these schmucks ever again! It's these people who see an individual who needs a little help and takes advantage of them. Shame on this company and how they run a poor business. So now we will just have to wait until Monday to see if one of these many crappy reps actually do the job at hand.

I just bought a used car on Sunday. Westlake was the one to give me the loan. They call to verify my information yesterday. The man I spoke with was rude and had so much attitude for no reason. I answered the call while I was in the car I told him, I’m in the car so it’s hard to hear because it’s loud. I must have told him that maybe three or four times. He then proceeded to give me attitude the whole conversation because I asked him a few times if he could repeat some of the questions and he responded with “Can you hear me?!” And proceeded to whisper “Oh my God” with such annoyance. I then ignored it all and finished the conversation.

But then he called my work today to verify that I work there and lucky me I was the one who answered. He then again gave me so much attitude simply because I’m the manager and my boss above me was not there. A simply, "Can I have the number to your boss" would have been fine but he continued to be rude. Point here is hire people who actually wants to work for your company. One of the worst customer experience I have ever dealt with. He should hope not to call again.

My Prius was financed through Westlake and for two years while working and going to school — both full time, I never missed a payment. While transitioning between jobs and leaving an abusive intimate partnership... my car was hit by my former partner. I informed Westlake that I needed time to pay them so I could also repair the vehicle. The reps worked with me for one month and despite my attempts to reconcile the balance due their reps lied to me and then repossessed my car without warning. When I tried to reconcile the balance due, to keep credit stable and to get a new car — they put a negative comment on my credit report.

Two years of loyalty and timely if not early payments and when I really needed leniency or a grace period they burned me. They’re still dinging my credit report despite me offering small payments that I could manage with school & work! They will not settle with me, and it’s keeping me from financing a new vehicle (not everyone has parents or family who help them). Avoid them like the plague! ALERT!!! Please do not EVER do business with this company! This is predatory lending at its best. I'm partially disabled & I'll ride a bike the 15 miles to work before I ever use them again! I have an auto loan from them. Fell behind 1 month due financial hardship - I called before the due date - was advised it was nothing they could do. 2 weeks later, they repossessed the vehicle on 7/3/18 at 9:56 pm. I wasn't aware the car was gone until the next day which was 7/4/18 - Independence day - a Federal Holiday. I reported the car as stolen to local police office, who could not locate the vehicle in their database (the tow company never submitted legal paperwork or reported repossession to them - in doing so, they broke the law). Afterwards, I called Westlake to inform them the car was stolen. That is when I learned the car was repossessed.

The supervisor was the most disgusting individual, very snide & difficult to deal with. On a federal holiday - I was advised to go to MoneyGram & make a payment. Hello! Everything was closed due to the holiday. The next day on 7/5/18 - I called Westlake to make payment & retrieve the vehicle. I was advised it takes 24-48 hours to process re-instatement paperwork. Contacted the tow company on 7/6/18 - voicemail stated I had to leave a message & schedule an appt to retrieve car. Never received a return call. Called Westlake 6 times and was transferred from rep to rep & placed on hold to be disconnected 3 times. Today on 7/9/18 - I called tow company & was informed my plates were surrendered to DMV on 7/5/18 & by law, they had to do so within 24 hrs of tow. Stated I needed new plates before I could pick up car??? The tow company said it was Westlake's responsibility to inform me.

I spent 3 1/2 hrs in DMV for new plates. Called Westlake again to have collection rep tell me he cannot send proof of payment or re-instatement. The specifics of this fiasco is questionable - if not illegal. If you have a problem with this company's questionable practices - report them to the California State Dist Attorneys office & prepare to retain a lawyer.

I asked to speak to the manager Joe **. He was extremely rude for being a manager. Raising his threatening, demanding, belittling, humiliating tone of voice towards me not honoring the settlement that was offered. After calling they mysteriously could not find any documentation that I called however they did have my bank account information that I gave them to draft the 144.00. Now 2000.00 dollars later calling them to retrieve my vehicle JoAnn ** consistently talked over me, hung up on, told that they do not place anyone on hold and there are no supervisors available.

I am still trying to recover my Truck. I already have so much money into having been a customer for 3 years. I do not want to lose the vehicle. Never mind the fact that when the repo agent came to pick up the vehicle he stated the he had been out 2 times prior but the account was current. I intend on taking this as far as it can possibly go. This is by the worst company I have ever dealt with and they should not be allowed to do business.

My car is dirty and the back headlight is out. It wasn't that way when they took it. Not to mention that the people who have my car house is located in a unsafe area and had me sign the papers in order to even give me my car back. They had stripped my car of everything and I was in fear of my life to complain. Westlake Financial doesn't give a damn about their customers and everyone should look elsewhere. It had to be the worst 4 years of my life dealing with Westlake Financial. They would call the day the bill was due. When I mail it out every month. On Time! I was 100% on time every single payment! If there were a customer payment rating. I'd have an A+ score. Their interest rate was just insane! Was so fed up with the company that I gathered up 6500 dollars just to say screw you! But when I call and request the title to my fully paid off vehicle, they want to make me wait a month! But they are so quick to jump down your throat for "not being on time with your payment". They check out when each check was postdated. On time! I feel as if I would have given my right eye to say I'd never have to deal with Westlake Financial again. Luckily I just paid them a fat check. Bye bye.

I had to have a deferred payment back in May of 2017. They originally told me that my payment will be delayed by a month. They send me the form, I sign it. I call them back in June and they tell me that if I pay $50 now and $213 in July, that will bring my account current and anything owed will be put on at the end of my loan (adding an extra month). They tell me I may see a late payment every month but that is the payment I will pay at the end. So I do as they say and don't worry about the late payment.

I make my payments in a timely manner every month since then. My payments are due on the 21st. I make my payment today after 6 so I call to make sure it post because I'm buying a house. The lady tells me my payment is 31 days past due... how? I was told not to worry about that late payment because that's the added payment towards the end... mind you I have paid a few dollars over each payment so it's lower. Now I'm basically screwed on buying a house thanks to Westlake Customer Service lying. I need to get my children out of this area due to violence and now I will have a late payment on my credit at closing time which will cause me to lose the loan???

No return email. Hang ups when we call. We have to report it stolen today to get any action taken. Tow & storage fees are mounting meanwhile. Most unprofessional customer service & possibly illegally operated, predatory lender I've encountered. And I see responses from them on other reviews apologizing & stating to call them. I’ve dealt with many bad companies before. I’ve dealt with terrible customer service too. As someone who has worked in a call center before I try to keep my composure because I know it’s hard, but THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH IN MY LIFE. I just got off a 15 minute call (after being transferred and hung up on MANY times), speaking with a rep who tells me he has no managers or supervisors. The rep prior, Solomon **, told me he “doesn’t just transfer to managers” - I spent almost 30 minutes arguing with him to get a manager on the line, then he hangs up! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. Please do NOT finance with them! They are nothing but trouble. Interest rates are extremely high and the customer care is non existent.

I asked is the company a startup being they have no managers or supervisors, the rep stated “it may be they are on break or maybe everyone left, but it should be a pretty big company.” - WHAT?! You don’t know where your managers are OR how big your company is? Just don’t do it. I can sit here and tell you about every terrible interaction I’ve had with them but honestly I don’t have enough words. Just go with someone else. Anyone else. The customer service never knows anything. The company is ONLY good for taking payments. And they BARELY do that right. And yes Consumer Affairs, I would like an attorney to contact me!

She has to work on thoroughly listening to the client first and not talking over them!! But I have to say she was 10 times better than Kevin ** who I spoke to earlier in the morning. He needs to work on his speech, as far as talking professionally. He left me on hold for quite a while and I heard him and the other staff having conversations. I said "HELLO" loud so he could hear me, because I'm pretty sure he forgot about me. He apologized and said he didn't even know I was there, because he thought that the call disconnected. HUH??? If that's the case, you didn't even try to call me back? Then he was supposed to email me some docs, but you guessed it, he never did! Get it together Kevin!

I, like some other reviewers have stated am a bit leery about their Principal/interest system. After paying $1850, my loan went down only $500. Seems crazy that they are taking so much in their fees. Can't wait to refinance. Bottom line, I went the Westlake route due to my bad credit. If you can get your credit up, then do it and go with a more reputable lender!!
