I was giving a final payment and closing out the account which was not difficult at all and he answered all of my questions. He was kind of enough to stay on the phone until I received confirmation and gave further information for future references.

The guy that helped me the last time that I called about my loan on my truck was really nice. Really informative and was easy to talk to. At first he didn't understand what I needed but as soon as I resaid it the right way I guess he knew exactly what I needed. Gave me the information and the advice and I was off the phone in 5 minutes with the answer that I needed. The people that you talk to are really nice but he got to watch the company.
I'm from Alabama but I moved to California and needed a truck for work. I researched them and they had low interest on loans but when it came to my loan they charged me outrageous percentage before I actually even knew. But it was because at the car dealership he didn't tell me exactly what the percentage was. After already signing the contract waiting a day or so to get it on email I look and find out that with percentages and it was too late. I already had all the paperwork signs and had agreed to that percentage. But luckily I've been paying it doubles and triples and I'm getting rid of the loan next month. So I guess that I should thank Westlake for allowing me to have my loan when nobody in California would because I wasn't from here.

My job situation had changed and it was refreshing to deal with an understanding individual. Westlake has always been willing to reasonably accommodate life changes. Do not use this company. They will draft money from your account that is not owed to them and not refund it when contacted. I have contacted customer service every day for 13 days. I was told on day one that it would take 7 to 10 days. Today they say it takes 21 days. Stay away from this company.

My car was repoed last night at close to 11 PM. No time to contact anyone to try and work something out. I have had fees on my account that or add ons like repo fees, late fees, and so on, mind you these fees have been there for years. I have been making my payments, late, but still paying, when I called to get my car back, the rep told me I had to pay the total due of $1,344. But that they can help with reducing the balance to $1,040, to get my car back. What a joke!! This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience with this company.

Took out a 16,000 dollar loan for a vehicle. Paid extra payments towards the principal amount by check. They still put those funds toward the interest. I called to get a payoff balance and they refused to remove any of the interest. No wonder they aren't accredited. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

I've upheld an account with Westlake Financial for 1 1/2 years. There's immediate quick responses whenever I call to finish business. In addition, there's forbearance plans whenever I'm having extenuating circumstances such as: major surgery. I've bettered my credit with other prospective financial vendors since I opened an account at Westlake. I definitely recommend Westlake to new consumers looking for an auto loan. - Keegan

I bought a beautiful new car recently and I believed that I had set up automatic debits to pay both my car payment and insurance. 11 days after my first car payment was due I received a message to call Westlake Financial. I called them back immediately and was told I was past due. I asked the rep for a few days so that I could check with my bank to see what happened to the payment. The rep agreed. I honestly did take more than a few days, unfortunately with work and Christmas I lost track of time, but called them back the following Monday.
At that point the first payment was 18 days late, and the rep and supervisor that I spoke with said my loan was in default and that they, Westlake, were asking the dealer to rescind the loan. I asked what I could do to help and was told that my account was under review and that they’d already asked the dealer for the money back. I’ve never heard of such a thing! Yes, I should have called the back a bit sooner but calling a new loan into default after 2 weeks? I’ve read other reviews and customers say that Westlake has “worked with” (them), but they don’t want to work with me? I don’t even know what to say...

I had to call Customer Service at Westlake Financial as I had to adjust my payment and spoke with Billy ** (No, not the county singer lol). He was very pleasant and was able to adjust my payment as needed. He also took the time to stay on the phone and walk me through setting up My Account on the website. He was very patient and extremely polite. If you ever call and get the opportunity to speak with Billy **, you will be very pleased. Well up until today our experience has been horrible!! We got our vehicle towed on Monday. Made the payment needed to get it released on Friday and still as of today we still don’t have our vehicle in our possession. Since Friday we have spoken with several different reps on the phone all of which who had a different story about our account. We have been lied to by several reps that stated the payment hasn’t been made or received or that release has or has not been sent. When asked to speak to a supervisor we were told there were none to call back.
We have been on the phone all day everyday since Friday with reps hanging up on us, lying to us, and just all around being rude to us with absolutely no help until today at 216pm. We called Westlake Financial back for the millionth time today because American Recovery said they still had not received our release of vehicle when told all day today that it was sent. A very nice respectful and very helpful young lady named Nebresia (hopefully spelled correct) answered the call. We told her the situation about what had been going on since Friday. She looked our acct seen the problem immediately and got her supervisor on it immediately.
She also made notes as to what we went through since Friday and even though she wasn’t the many reps who put us through pure hell since Friday she apologized for the many mistakes that was made by her coworkers... Although I’m sure she heard the aggravation in my voice she never once came out of character like the other reps and kept it professional and you my friend deserve a gold medal for that. So while I am very very pleased with her I am very displeased with the Many reps we spoke to since Friday and you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Call customer service because I was having trouble setting my account. I call twice and those people could not solve my problem. Call the third time and Rene ** answer the phone and we explain to him what is going on with my account that I cannot set up right. Then we went and check all the information and everything and told me that some information was wrong. So he start fixing everything and in no time I did have my account set up thanks to Rene **.

Great service with Westlake. Through no fault of theirs, I bought a car they financed. The car was a lemon, ther dealership did nothing. But Westlake offered to settle without my having to argue at all.... I would absolutely use them in the future.

Westlake Financial service is one of the biggest scam. They are just stealing money from customer. Last week what happened, I have made payment of my car and I have been told I can pay more to get rid of my car payment soon, so before the due date I have made a payment of $700 and the payment was due 337.33 in next two days. On 700 they charge me interest rate of 300. I have requested to have a refund of 700. The agent I was talking to was lied to me. He said 700 I will be receiving in 3-5 business days and the amount of 337.33 will get charge on due date which was automatic payment method. The thing is I have requested for refund 700 two days before of making the payment by automatic system of 337.33 and I have been told the refund has been issued and would show up into my bank account in 3-5 business days but they actually waited four days more when my actually payment was due.
When they charge me 337.33 they refunded me this amount and NOT the amount of $700 because they kept interest rate of $300 on $700. They refunded 337.33 because they were not able to keep more interest rate into their pocket instead of only $28, and I have to make 337.33 payment next month, which simply means they will receive again what they actually refunded me, and kept my $700 on $300 interest rate.
Yesterday I have called and explained what I have been told was a lie. I did not receive $700 refund, then after wasting an hour I have been told I will receive a refund of the difference from 700.00-337.33=362.67. I do not trust them. They of course are lying to me again to just put me on hold. Overall Poor customer service, all Spanish people who doesn't know English and can't even talk without their boss push! Which is ridiculous. Stealing money from innocent people. I really did not like doing business with them. I will get away soon. STAY AWAY from THIEVES please.

Company is not accredited but yet states its contracts are not negotiable. APRs and other interests can be negotiated. Paid over 4,000 in interest alone and couldnt continue making that payment then called to request for a downward review so I continue making payments and they said except I refinance. Fraud!!! I am asking YOU for a review, you are asking to be bought off at almost 30% interest? For a depreciating item? This company is the worst.

Unfortunately back in August I was in a terrible car accident. My car was total lost, My insurance company ended up paying off the balance I owed on my vehicle. I was told that I had $1987 refund on my account due to over payment. My account was closed on November 11th, 2019. At that time I spoke with a agent and they told me that my funds would take 7-10 business days to be refunded. November 21st comes around and still no check. I called Westlake again to figure out why I haven’t received a check yet in the mail. I was told to give it a few more days due to the weekend.
On November 29th I called again about my refund check, I was told once again because it’s a holiday give it a little more time, and if it’s not in my mail box, to give them a call. It’s now December 6th, I called Westlake and now I’m being told that the check was never sent out, and that I have to wait 21 business days from the day that my account closed. Which was on 11/11/19. Then after that I’d have to wait a additional 7-10 business days for my check to be mailed to me, therefore I will not be receiving a refund until 12/20/19-12/21/19. This company is absolutely ridiculous and I’ve heard so many different explanations. I shouldn’t have to wait this long on a refund that is mine, especially when I was told that I would have it. I need my funds ASAP or I will be taking further actions towards this company.

Customer service is the worst I have ever interacted with. They constantly hang up when they do not know the answer to a question. They do not communicate properly with your insurance company. They will not call back if they tell you they will. They lost one of the payments I made over the phone via ACH. And are claiming the payment was not made when I have my bank statement proving the payment was withdrawn.

This place is a complete scam. I ordered a 2010 truck and used their service. I received my truck loan and was offered Gap insurance. I paid the extra few hundred dollars. I trusted these guys to be honest despite their many horrible reviews. 34 days later to the day my truck blew apart in an accident that involved myself and my child. Insurance paid their part. They agreed to work with Westlake and I was promised that my Gap would finalized their part quickly. Four months later I finally received a response.
Lo and behold Westlake calls me to tell me that their gap would not cover any part of it due to their inspection that the transfer case was the cause. I responded that they could not have inspected the transfer case. I asked her how they inspected it and the lady was rude and yelled at me until I told her I had the transmission and transfer case in my garage. She then quickly said due to damage to the body that was pre existing to the sale. I asked her what damage. And she stated they inspected the truck in Kentucky and they were certain my trucks value was below what they'd pay due to dents in the bed. You asked her why they offered gap on a truck with damage. Now granted it's a work truck but it was totaled in the accident. Also the truck was in a local garage at the time of inspection.... in Ohio. 300 miles from kentucky.
She told me they dont inspect the vehicles before offering gap and the gap was only used when the truck is in good condition. They then charged me over $4400 for the remaining balance on a truck I didnt even put 130 miles on. I argued with them on the gap and they started charging me late fees and sent it quickly to collections. I have not paid yet and I'm awaiting a lawyer to get back with me on suing them for the truck and damages to my credit. I had to wait until collections reached to me with the payment amount so I knew exactly how much I have to sue for. This place is a scam all the way. I will write a review on every site available until they respond with a fix. Every site will hear about this scam until they fix my issue. I paid thousands down on this truck and had it 34 days and to be told it was dented.. It's an insult by a lying company

Omg this is the most awful finance company! I bought a car in September. My first payment was due 2 weeks ago and it didn’t come out of my bank and I didn’t know nor was I advised or sent notice. Sooo Westlake told the dealer to buy back my car they were voiding my contract and when I called Westlake a very rude boy told me they don’t want my business. I no longer have a loan with them and that the dealership was the one who repo me? What? This is so illegal on both parts in so many ways and how does a dealer do that and why would a bank allow that? So the dealer tells me they would find another bank and then says pretty much they can’t find another bank and so that means it was stolen in my eyes. It’s discrimination as well!
If this isn’t resolved I will seek legal matters and I won’t stop writing to forums or the media till I have my car back! Westlake wake up. Make it right because this loop hole yo-yo won’t work. This is auto and finance fraud and your agent hangs up on me like oh well we don’t want you? Fix it! People run from these people. They are connected with these dealers.

I didnt have a very great credit score and needed a car. I met a gentleman while driving for Lyft at he and a partner had just opened a car lot and they told me to come in and they would help me get a car so I could save money and not lease anymore so I did. Westlake was good and financed my car at the monthly car payment I wanted to work with my budget at the time. Thank You Westlake for giving me a chance. Now I own my car. So Great!!!!

The people we talked to had no clue what was going on. Was transferred multiple times and had to repeat the process several times. They obviously do NOT talk to each other. In the end we got NO resolution to our problems and they offered no solutions.

I called Westlake Financial, and I spoke to Luis, I wanted to set up a payment arrangement so Bonnie would not be up for repossession, we were 2 months behind, because my dad passed away. He gave me his condolences and said sorry for my loss. I appreciate that so much! Luis was beyond helpful and super sweet! He asked if I can make a payment of $50 so I could possibly get a exception extension. When I was looking for my card he said take your time, most agents would be in a rush. The card went through, thank goodness for that. Luis was very sweet and happy to help me. I wish other agents at Westlake Financial were like him. A lot of the agents would claim they wanted to help but I do not believe that is true. Luis was amazing and has put my mind at ease. I appreciate him so much, he provided fabulous customer service! He’s amazing and the best.

I purchased a car through Washington Motor Cars and financed through Westlake. Washington Motor cars tried to defraud me by making me sign several contracts while running my credit several times and rising the interest rates on the loan. The loan was assigned to Westlake and accepting the contract is fully liable.
I took Washington Motor Cars to court and won my lawsuit against them. My Lawyer contacted Westlake and to avoid a LawSuit we made an agreement with Westlake to cancel the loan and refund all money paid to avoid a Lawsuit. Westlake did refund all payments but marked the loan as late and charged off on my credit. This action has almost ruined my credit and cause me a lot of financial harm. I plan on going forward with legal action against Westlake Financial. I would advise anyone trying to do business with this company to stay for away!

I'm having difficulty obtaining a payoff letter concerning my auto loan. My refinancing was sent to them 10 days ago and there is no record of the payoff at Westlake, which I'm finding hard to believe. The customer service person who "helped" me was totally inefficient and clueless...had to speak to a supervisor about a simple question. Since my new loan payment is due, I don't think I should be responsible for paying an additional payment to Westlake since the loan has been paid off by Capital One Bank. Would like someone to assist me with this...Thank you.

Bought from a car dealership who's since went out of business after purchase. Now, I needed to use the warranty for repairs and was told by SecureOne (whatever warranty company comes with purchasing a vehicle through Westlake). My warranty was refunded to the dealership - I was never notified by either company (AFTER SIGNING A CONTRACT!) that my warranty was void & null. Now, westlake is claiming my warranty is active and good but warranty company is acting like I don't exist. I will do anything to get this car out of posession because of this. I'm paying for a warranty I can't use, and paying for expensive repairs.
I will never finance through westlake again, I will advise every single person I know to avoid them at all costs. I've called a multitude of times and have been given the same answers every time. They have never once tried to correct the wrong, or offer me a different warranty. Not like it matters at this point. There's no hope for this vehicle anymore.

Very very disappointed in this company, customer service. We spoke with several different people that gave us nothing but the runaround. No one wanted to give their real names. One lady called herself Mary and another guy said he was John. Neither gave last names or reference numbers. They raised their voices and yelled at my husband when they didn’t know simple answers to questions. We hate dealing with them. This is the second time and can’t wait for the rest of this loan to be paid so we can be done with this joke of a company that needs to do better on all levels. Such a joke and very unprofessional.

Westlake Financial is a horrible financial institution. Your customer service is lacking any empathy or urgency to correct customer relation issues. Unfortunately as an internet based bank you have access to millions of potential customers and therefore real customer service is unobtainable. I have had an accident at work that left me with no paycheck for 3 weeks. I had to do a dreaded call to let them know what happened and that my pay won't kick back in till mid November..anyways Evelyn was able to help me by providing an extension on my account. I co-signed with a friend on a car, and it was financed through Westlake Financial. We paid for the gap coverage in case anything was to happen to the car, it would be covered. We also paid to get a warranty on the car through Westlake. Unfortunately we got into a car accident and the car was totaled, and the gap coverage covered what was owed still to Westlake. Westlake then said that we still owed them money, left the account open, ruined our credit, and still owe us the refund on the Warranty. They refuse to pay it, and any time we call to get what we are owed. We are given the runaround. If you ever are trying to get any loan through this company, I suggest not doing so. They're skeezy and scam artists.

This company has not replied to emails or requests to speak to an agent. They have failed to report account ** to the 3 credit bureaus. This company also ran credit report multiple times (on different days) without consent, which is an FCRA violation. I see they reply to 5 star reviews... but not ones with issues? Please respond - all I want you to do is report this account to the credit bureaus. I'm not even mad about the multiple credit run issue. I co-signed on this loan to help my brother rebuild his life and signing on for a loan that isn't even reporting to any, let alone a singular credit bureau, is really disheartening and frustrating as someone who's only here to help...

We had a loan that was paid off 9/13/19. They are now saying we missed a payment. We sent proof that we made the payment on auto-pay through their website. We have faxed proof and they are STILL sending us a bill. We have been hung up on each time we call to resolve this. We paid off our vehicle and have proof through our bank. You even show under our account online each payment was made! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT!!

I like to make extra small payments throughout the month along with my regular monthly payments. Every time a payment was due they were able to locate my account and take my payment, every time I was trying to make an extra payment they "couldn't locate" the account and would charge me a 25$ insufficient fee. I have paid over 300$ strictly in fees and I have only been with them for 10 months.

Hello, my name is Jean ** account number **. I got a loan with you guys back in August 2018 and after making two monthly payments I lost my job and called you guys to see what would be my payment options. The representative I spoke with had told me that if I paid $50 I would be able to get an extension on my next payment. I paid the $50 as the representative advised on October 29th.
About 2 weeks later my car was repossessed. I couldn’t understand how my car would get taken if I paid to get an extension for payment. I ended up paying and getting my car back but now I am being charged $549.09 for this wrongful repossession. I have spoken to Xavier, Francisco, Rosa, Jerry **, Dennis, Morena **, and Lenjun; none of them have been able to help me and they told me an investigation would be done. After speaking to them I learned that to qualify for an extension you must make about three payments on time which my representative never informed me of in October 2018 and just told me “if you pay $50 I can set up an extension for you.”
Now, my fiancé has recently started working for a repossession company that works for you and I have learned a lot about my rights as a customer and what a wrongful repossession is; I would like for you to please help me sort this out before I have to use legal help because it is not fair that I paid for an extension (as advised by your representative that never explained I would NOT qualify because I had only made two payments on the loan so she took the $50 and I still got repossessed) and still got my car repossessed after speaking to your representatives. I would like to pay off my car this week but I do not believe I am responsible for these fees due to your representative misinforming me and getting my car repo when I thought I had an extension. Please help me. That’s all I am asking for.

Still continue fraudulent activities!!!! I had a loan for four years with Pelican auto. Two months after paying my loan completely off. Waiting for the title. Westlake came along with a repo man at my door. The gentleman whom wouldn't provide any documentation. Demanding money or keys to my truck. The man became irate at this point, and the police came and made him leave. He had no paperwork or documentation, he just keep saying he was with Westlake Financial Services LLC and I owed them money. Confused when the man left and found Westlake online. I called to discus this mistake with them. Round and round, I believe I spoke to every supervisor there was with no avail. After months of calls and threats, still refusing any type of validation. On Jan 31 2019 Westlake repossessed my vehicle with false documents, and sold it. How does this happen. Westlake Financial has plenty of bad reviews and lawsuits. And yet continue such deviant acts.

I ran into some difficult times recently. I had a terrible loss in my family. Zion ** was only 7. That being said, I fell into a deep depression, took a month and a half off of work, and didn't pick up any calls (including Westlake). Long story short. They repoed my vehicle. Courteney (I believe her last name is **), was very understanding to my situation and helped me more than anyone else there could (or would). I am taking the time to write all this to show how far good customer service skills and empathy can really make a ** situation... less **. I was lied to about the date by which my refund would be shipped out to me, pertaining to overpayment I was required to make during the time I was refinancing my car loan with a more reliable company. I paid Westlake Financial by the proper date, and was told I would be issued a refund for overpayment once they had received the payoff, but given no other information at that time. I called Westlake Financial's Customer Service department a week after my refinance had been approved (9/9/19), and the payoff sent, asking as to the status of my refund. At that time, (9/16/19) I was told that I would be receiving my refund 3 weeks after the payoff was posted, and it should be mailed out by 10/3/19 (today).
I called Westlake Financial's Customer Service again today, and was told a completely different date, and given different details about the schedule of my refund, primarily that it would be not just 3 weeks, but 3 Business Weeks (which I would have understood had I been given this information initially), and that the refund would not be shipped out (why do they snail-mail a paper check when a person has paid online, via debit? They're operating under pony express constraints) until 10/18/19, nearly 6 weeks after payoff has been posted.
All of this could have been perfectly understandable if they had simply told me that they weren't even to mail the refund until 3 business weeks later, and furthermore, if they could use more realistic terms, like, "You're gonna be waiting on that nearly $300 for a month and a half, bud." For what it's worth, I appreciate Westlake offering me the loan when I had poorer credit, but it's unfortunate for people like me, who struggle just to get by, that help comes at the cost of honesty, efficiency, and -actual- money. I should be charging -them- interest, at this point.

My loan was transferred to Westlake Portfolio Management from another provider and Lisa helped me to 1) get into my new account, 2) understand what was going on and 3) remove the late fees that racked up after my auto payments were cancelled from the old provider. Super helpful and I'm especially happy about the removal of the late fee.

West lake repossessed my car for one late payment that I called and made arrangements for. They claimed there’s did not make a note, I had 12 mos of not one miss payment and they picked up the car for a $34 late payment then after getting my car back, four months later now we here telling me about other charges of “late fees”. I swear Westlake Just is in the business to scam money and make money through repos. I am At 14 mos stretch of car payments and have to watch every detail and pray to pay this off quickly. I don’t feel valued with this company. Tried over and over to speak to different people, managers etc and still no help with the other charges as they say.

Applied online thru Hertz rent to buy. Was told we were approved for $16,000. Sent all the required paperwork and the downpayment, in which we sold her car. Westlake asked for more proof of income and sent my bank statements. I'm self employed and make pretty good money. A week later was told that they could not match my bank statements, and was told to return car and we would lose the down payment. This meant that my wife is without a car and we are out the down payment. I believe that Hertz rental car and Westlake have a scam to take people's money. We were never able to take to Westlake directly to explain. We only had correspondence with Hertz.

I talked to Stacey, who was able to help fix my issue very quickly. My car was up for repossession and I was struggling financially at the time. She was able to switch my payments around and gave me a month to catch up. I couldn’t be more grateful for her, because my job, my child, and myself all depend on this car. She made the process easy and definitely lifted a very big burden off of my shoulders. She was very professional and pleasant to talk to and she took my needs very seriously. I would recommend her service to anyone and I hope to speak to her in the future.

First time with Westlake bank, and I'm so disappointed financing a vehicle with this bank, if I was aware of their customer service and how they treat the customers I would of waited a lil longer to finance a vehicle, they withdrawn money that was not authorized out of my account when I already had it set up to withdraw the amount that is due to them monthly. So basically they took not only my payment but withdrew from my account twice.
When calling them to resolve the issue several time, they told me one that I had to wait up to 5 working days, the second time they it was in the process to receive it, the third time they said a Supervisor had to review it, before I can even receive the extra money that they took out of my account. When asking to speak to a Supervisor they said she was busy, I continue to look into my account and they haven't reimburse me yet. I want to see how I go about recieving what is owe to me back. If anyone has any advice or ever been in a situation like this please leave a message. Never again I want anything to do with this bank!

I am grateful Westlake decided to help me out with the finance for my car! But the rude reps are threatening to repo my car for missing a payment but then I did a partial payment is outrageous! After I told the rep I would make a payment on the 27th I was denied and she told me she would put notes in saying my car needs to be repossessed. Everybody falls short every once in while but I don’t think the reps have to be as rude as they are! No understanding.

Working with Westlake was a terrible experience all the way from start to end. We were happy we were able to get approved but started out at a 19.99% interest rate. Once we were approved and became a Westlake customer we never missed a payment but would get collection calls saying our account was past due. Multiple calls to customer service proved to be useless. I would call and speak to someone and the following day when I would call again they would have no records or notes or any existence of my call the previous day. This happened multiple times. After a year of on time payments we decided to refinance with PNC bank.
I called to get a 10 day payoff quote while inside PNC and we wrote a check for the amount we were told. We mailed it out that day and was happy to be done with Westlake. Our interest rate dropped to 4.99% and our payment was a $100 less. Although I thought I was done with Westlake we started getting collection calls and I mean 4 or 5 a day 8am to 11pm at night saying our account was past due. I called and spoke with multiple people multiple times and wrote down all names and call times and dates yet every time I called there was no existence of these calls or people. There would be no notes or anything.
Turns out the person who gave me my 10 day payoff quote that I requested gave me a 1 day quote so there were extra fees and interest that was not paid for. It totaled under $27. Although I should have just paid and been done with them it infuriated me. 3 months after the fact and after speaking with half a dozen supervisors they were able to review recorded calls that those fees would be waived because they kept arguing we only waive fees $10 or less and our employees wouldn't tell you otherwise.
So finally they mark it as a promise to pay and submit that the fees should be waived and that I should no longer receive collection calls. Not only was that not true but the amount of collection calls increase to myself and my spouse and mostly between 5pm and 11pm. If you have to choose between Westlake Financial or going without a car, I would suggest going without the car. Awful company, terrible rates, worst customer service and overall completely useless. They do not have a clue what they are doing.

If you have bad credit like I do and paying 29.99% then you pay your note every week see what a lot of car loans they do a day by day interest rate it could be $5 dollars a day from the day you paid it. So say for instance my car note is 260 and my car note is due on the 12 and I pay it on the first that mean you will be charged interest from the first to the 12th so if the next month goes to the 31 instead of you having 31 one days of interest you would have 42 days of interest 5x42=$210 of interest and only 40 dollars towards your principal. I say all this to let you know if you not gonna pay your car note every week then just Get a reliable car. I’m not saying the car won’t help your credit but the way they charge you interest from the day you pay is crazy.

This is the worst financial company and also predatory lenders. I am taking legal action against Westlake Financial Services. The simple interest auto loan is a rip-off, only good for short term and pay-off the car quick. I would never finance a car at 72 months at 16.39% interest rate, it's like you paying extra fees monthly. I will be contacting the Consumer Affairs Office and BBB.
The dealership I purchased the car from last year no longer use Westlake Financial Services. The reviews are correct. High interest loan and the customer service is very poor. Need to file a lawsuit against Westlake Financial Services. I seeked advice from an Attorney. Contact The Federal Trade Commission and The Attorney General Office in the state you reside and file a consumer compliant.

Somehow our account got marked as direct deposit. It shouldn’t have been. Money came out of our account which caused our account to be negative and received a lot of overdraft fees. We spoke with someone in customer service and they said they will get our money back into our account in 3-5 business days. It has been 12 business days and we still don’t have our money back. Today we were told that there is nothing they can do until we are “caught up”. Our payment was due yesterday. I will not be making a payment until we get this resolved. I will also be seeking advice from an attorney.

Do not get a loan through this company. They will only put 10%-30% of your payment to your principal no matter what you pay and no matter what your interest rate is! You pay over it only goes to your interest especially if you specify that you want it to go to your overall principal. They will ignore you. They will brush you off. They will treat you like **. They are the worst company!! With the worst customer service! They will steal from you! They will treat you like garbage! They will give you fake names and phone numbers to call to voice your complaints. Do not work with them. They will fluff you off, they will put your urgent needs behind them instead of dealing with them! Report them to FDIC and BBB!!!! Their Google reviews they hide the honest with paid employee ratings to get their ratings up. They are liars!!!! They are thieves!!!! They are not for the people and not for helping them. They just want to steal your money!!!!

Being a customer for 2 months is an awful experience. They charged me twice, promised I’d get my money back within 7-10 days. Haven’t received it, I called back asking where it was. They said I forgot to send it through. Horrible experience with them. They don’t know what they're doing.

Idk how many times I have send in my final payment to pay off my car. They keep sending me the amount back then charging me 15$ service charge. I’m seriously so irritated I have called multiple times!!! No one can tell me why my payment keeps getting sent back! The recent call I had the agent told me my payment went through and I would be receiving my pink slip in the mail. Next thing I know I get another letter in the mail saying they have sent my payment back. Doesn’t state why but they sure know how to add that extra 15$ service charge. This company is the worst scam artists. Trying to make a few extra bucks before losing a customer. I WILL NEVER TAKE A LOAN FROM THEM AGAIN. I hope you all go out of business. My son brought a car in July, still no plates yet, the dealership keep giving him temp. That's a problem. It's already September. So, I have car loan with Westlake Financial and I did get behind in my car note while I had in unfortunate situation. Anyway I was two months behind but on 7/29/2019 I paid the 2 months I owed but really didn’t realize I needed $35.00 more dollars until I looked online and saw the balance up there. But I was like "Ok I’ll just pay it when I pay my next bill." Didn’t think they would take my car. Mind you when I paid the 635 on 7/29/19 the two payments. I asked the rep twice, "Are you sure that my car would not be repossessed?" She did tell me "In 2 hours it would be off." I asked again, she seemed to have a little attitude. Please review your tapes Westlake. She something like, "I said it would be off so now."
My car is repossessed for 35 dollars and now I have to pay repossession fees plus my bill of 09/03/19 which is insane to me. But what’s really bothering me is that no one is seeing why I’m upset and it’s like "Oh well deal with it." When I explain to them that I would be late on the new bill she told me that’s fine but I will still receive collection calls. I said, "That’s fine." But never said that, "The car would still be on the repo list for the 35.00 you owe." And it’s like oh well to them. I can understand if I was trying not to pay and not caught my account up and just did not pay almost 700 dollars and now I have to pay more money that I don’t really have. I believe they forgot to take me off the repo list and now they don’t want to take fault in this which is pretty messed up.

When I first purchased my vehicle, I began to have issues with it, back in 2017. I contacted the dealership who then directed me to Westlake Financial to have the issues (transmission) resolved. Mind you, I was still making payments on time, and in full amounts as required. I contacted the department, and was told that the car had to be taken to a AAMCO for observation. AAMCO wanted to charge me $700 just to take the transmission apart to find the issue, and without guarantee that it would work again when put back together. The car was still somewhat driveable for a while. When I made them aware of this, I was then told that the car would basically have to break down for them to do anything. It eventually did stop driving, but it was outside of my warranty period.
I left the car sitting, and told them to come get it. They never did. Fast forward to 2019, they contact me again offering me a settlement. I accepted. HOWEVER, the first agent of about 10 that I had spoken to failed to mention the following things: Only 5 payments are able to be made towards the settlement, it has to be completed in a certain time frame, and if a payment is missed (even if you called in to let them know and they accept another arrangement), the settlement starts over and the money you supposedly gave towards it, is defaulted back to the original loan. I just recently found out that towards that $3,300 settlement, the $1,200+ payment I made was never made towards the settlement, and that I had only paid about $200. Which was infuriating.
I did speak to a Garland **, who did take those first payments and applied them towards the settlement. I received a call a few weeks later (By that time I had gotten the settlement balance down to about $1,500), saying that I had defaulted on the settlement because I made more than 5 payments and I had missed one (even though it was a promise to pay). My thing is, if you're going to offer a settlement, read ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THAT SETTLEMENT just like you always read all of the terms and conditions when a payment is taken or verifying information. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Knowing this was going to be the first loan I’d even be able to get because I hadn’t had any credit I expected it to be high as far as the interest rate. This company really does work with you if you’re not able to make the payments on time and does their best so it doesn’t affect your credit as long as you keep in contact with them. As far as customer service goes I believe they have a lot of work to do, EXCEPT for one woman in particular name Sandra **! She is absolutely amazing and made the entire experience with this company 100 times better. If The rest of the company showed as much effort, respect, and understanding I know for a fact this company would have more clients. THAT WOMAN NEEDS A RAISE!

I made a payment for my monthly car loan a couple of days ago. Then got a notification from the bank that I was charged again a few days later. Called Westlake to have them refund me which they did and also helped me update my automatic payments so it wouldn’t happen again. I didn’t even know I was signed up for their automatic payments for the wrong date which is why it got charge twice. Very grateful for their assistance.

They give me a loan of 15,000 dollars on a car and said I had to buy extend warranty through them. The car blew up and they won’t fix it so it looks like they lost 15,000 dollars. I won't ever make a payment.

Westlake repossessed our car after it was reported to be stolen with a police statement. When the car was found we weren't notified. We called Westlake Financial services department and that's when we found out that our car was there in their possession because they had repossessed it and is now making us pay for the repossession after we had been rob of the car. Westlake wants us to pay 684.00 money that we doesn't have.

Updated on 08/30/2019: This is an addendum to. my previous post, concerning Westlake Financial's extremely poor customer service. I had refinanced my Westlake loan through my employer credit union. My credit union sent the payoff check August 16th. It has been nearly 10 days. I am still getting emails and late payment notices from Westlake. I called their customer service line, telling the representative that I am no longer a client. The representative said that the loan is still active with them and I am still responsible for payments, until the payoff amount is received. I can see how Westlake repossess cars, by not keeping up with the administrative side of the business. All they have to do is not cash the check, or just not keep current records on clients. They take great advantage of people who can't afford lawyers to sue them out of business.
Original Review: I had bought a newer car at a rental sales company. I had never questioned the loan, and took the sales guy’s word as to what was offered through Westlake Financial. I have been making payments ahead of the due date through my checking account. I made the mistake of enrolling in automatic payment, provided on the Westlake Financial website. Westlake had taken two payment out 48 hours apart. I had not made a payment manually, either. The payments were withdrawn twice for June.
I called Westlake on a Friday and the agent acknowledged the mistake and said the money would be returned to my account. I called again the following Thursday, asking about the refund. The agent said I was paid through July, and my next payment would be in August. I needed my money back in my account. The extra withdrawal, overdrafted my account plus the car insurance autopay came out which overdrafted my account further. I talked to my bank and they helped me file a temporary coverage until Westlake returned the money. Then I called Westlake again, they said they were mailing the refund, 5-10 business days. I never received any said check.
July payment date arrives, and again Westlake withdraws a payment. I am on the phone again... And get some person, who again sees the error. This time I just asked the bank to stop the “pending transaction.” Westlake still has not reimbursed me, and they had sent me and NSF letter for $25 addition to my August payment. Again I call and the agent says they will submit a request for the $25 to be removed, since I said it was their error and I had to stop the payment, because Westlake said the extra payment in June covered my July bill.
I decided to check with my employee credit union about transferring the loan. Easy fix! I have a lower payment and a reasonable interest rate. I had to pay the August payment, for the time to transfer to the credit union loan. I have to still have to fight to get the $25 NSF dropped. From reading the reviews, and talking to my new loan officer, I was being way overcharged, twice the original value of the car. For anyone reading this, research loan institutions. If your employer has a credit union, use them first. Don’t go blindly into a loan contract.

I purchased a car from a dealership 5 months ago, put down $6,000 on the car, the rest I was financed through Westlake. I was locked in a contract for a year, was current with my payments since it was auto pay from my account. The dealership lied to me and kept postponing giving me plates even giving me Texas temps while I live in NJ. I was getting nervous so I called Westlake and they reassured me that everything was ok and that the dealership wasn't able to take my car under any circumstances... however yesterday the dealership took my car from me and said they paid the bank off... angry and confused since I am current with payments and reassuranced by the representative that it would be ok but when I called Westlake they said my contract wasn't guaranteed and that the dealership paid them for the car and they couldn't help me to deal with the dealership directly myself which is BS...
The representative was rude, unsympathetic, unprofessional and even told me there was no supervisor. I am currently contacting a lawyer to sue this company and the dealership because now I'm out of $6,000 and a car and was never notified by Westlake or did they have any reason to do this... low life crooks. Please beware, don't do business with them, they take advantage of people with bad credit.

I have been calling Westlake Financial since July 13 trying to get a check that was owe to me. It is August 12 and I have not received the check. When I call and ask to speak to a manager, I'm put on hold and no manager is available to speak to me. The check just need to be resent, I don’t know why it’s taking so long.

I recently experienced a hardship caused by an automobile accident. I had no way of knowing how I was going to pay my bills on top of the car accident and deductibles. I bought a used car for my daughter. I put down 1/2 and the dealer used Westlake Financial to finance the other 1/2. First, they charge 18% interest!!! So I wanted to pay off quick. After just 5 payments, I paid the balance in full. That was on July 25, 2019. After a couple weeks, I wondered where my title was. Usually a bank will release the title within a week or two. NOT HERE! Even though the website says to call if you have not received your title after 10 days of payoff, I called and was stunned to find out the following:
First - They release your title and then it takes 20 business days to process, blah, blah, blah. My title will arrive (or so they claim) on August 30th! That is 5 freaking weeks after payoff. Hope you're not in a hurry to say trade it in or anything! Second - As for update your credit reports to reflect the account paid? I was told they take 90 days to do that. Not "up to 90 days", but only AFTER 90 days!!! DO NOT USE THIS CO TO HELP REBUILD YOUR CREDIT OR BUY A CAR!

I called in to surrender my vehicle, unfortunately, previous calls didn't go well due to over aggressive reps trying to undermine my situation while demanding more payments. Today however I called and was connected to Ricki....She was very understanding, showed great compassion and immediately assisted me with the info I call for, no runaround, no gimmicks, no pressure to commit more money I didn't have. Before Ricki, I was done with Westlake but thanks to her I'll continue business with them in the future.

My husband & I have a car loan that is now being handled by Westlake Portfolio Management due to the other loan company we had going out of business. Our car was repossessed & we've been doing our best to get our car back. I've been working with Lajuan ** also known as LaLa. She has been awesome. She's gone above & beyond any customer service experience I've had before. Technically she's not even the one I need to deal with, yet she has continued to help me every step of the way. We've now gotten our car paid & are just waiting to be able to go pick it up. I can't thank Lajuan (LaLa) enough for all the help she gave me. This was a difficult time for us & she was always pleasant to speak with & never made me feel bad during this situation. I can never thank her enough for all of her help! I’ve been with Westlake for a couple of months and every time I speak to someone they can never help. On occasion when they escalated my account to a specialist they are the ones who offer to help. It’s to the point where I wanna give the car up because I can’t deal with Westlake. They lie because I have caught them in lies to the point where I thought I was getting my car repoed. Some representatives are just ignorant and I am going through some things with my wife being sick and on top being pregnant and some representatives don’t know what’s going and have stupid ** remarks. I am done with west lake. I am sorry. I am doing my best to pay off my car so don’t have to deal with this company again. If I can rate them a 0 I would.

Paid off the car 30 days ago. I called West Lake Financial more than 10 times. Each time they put me on hold for 35 to 45 minutes. I need a release for my title that paid off twice. I sent 2 checks. Both have been cashed and they have not send me the title release so I can do my business. Plus they owe me the money different -- I am a dealership not a customer. They lie like no tomorrow. I hate to write a bad review but I have used all my options to get my title release. I am on the phone for the last 13 minutes as I am typing with customer service. They have no idea what they doing. It should be very easy. Mind you I called so many times.They have enough notes in the history to release the title... I paid the car twice. I do have a copy of a cancel checks since July 2nd. Today is August 1st. Still no response.

Westlake approve my loan but they are charging me a super high interest. I was making extra payments but my loan never went down. After making 12 payments I have pay only like 3k of my loan. This company is making money out of customers. I would never recommend Westlake in my life.

My auto loan was through Summit Financial, which changed hands and became West Lake Financial. On my credit reports it now shows that I have 2 active loans for 2 cars through this company. My car was totaled a few days ago and I'm trying to get a new car and because this appears 2x it looks as if I'm trying to purchase a 3rd car. NO LENDER IS APPROVING ME BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. Have called numerous times and still no resolution. Company told me to wait 60 to 90 day until it resolves itself. Not sure how this is good customer service.

My father's wife recently passed away and he has dementia so the family decided to let his vehicle be voluntarily repossessed. But Westlake Financial sent the repo man to the wrong state! Two months later and they still have not picked up the vehicle. Meanwhile, they have been calling 6-10 times PER DAY--even on weekends and holidays! And they started that the very first day after a payment was due--not with sending letters or emails but phone call after phone call. No other financial company has ever been this aggressive, this judgemental in tone over the phone, or this rude about missed payments. We're in financial difficulty and if they would simply pick up the vehicle and sell it at auction (like they're supposed to), then we would see what value it has and know what the difference is--the vehicle may be worth more than what is owed and I certainly cannot trust WF to give us any left-over money.

Purchased a 2007 BMW 328xi on July 12 from Universal auto 516 University blvd owner Sam ** in Birmingham. This car is a piece of Junk, these finance companies should be made by law to know what kind of cars they are financing for these dealers that are as is cars, haven't had this car 30 days and having major problems. This is a reflection on Westlake Financial and I'm going to social media, BBB, and Facebook live, and file a complaint with attorney generals office and the Federal Trade Commission for unfair business practices. Stop taking people's money and they get junk and stuck for three years in contract.

On 3 different occasions, Westlake Financial received my payment for my car note, and for unknown reasons, my payment was returned and in turn I was charged IF fees and late fees by WF. This month of July 2019, I smartened up by taking screenshots of when I paid the note, a screenshot of my banking app when WF actually took the money, and one more when the money was returned to my account.

WORST COMPANY EVER! I purchased a vehicle over a year ago. I have a clean title and a loan with another financial institution and have been making payments. Zero issues so far. Out of nowhere yesterday, the repo man comes to get my car. Asks if my name is Precious and if I have a car loan with Westlake. No to both and explain who I am and that my bank holds title, etc. I call Westlake who confirms they had a loan but it's been closed; but they will not provide a lien release. I go to try to sell the car but Westlake still shows up as having a lien. Again I call Westlake who confirms they did not send the repo man and they do not have a lien (they also confirmed this information with my bank) but will not provide it in writing since I am not their customer and will only talk in circles with no real information or resolution.
Rene ** at Westlake (dumbest human on the planet) advises I need to talk to my bank (even though neither I nor my bank have any involvement whatsoever). I explain that legally a lien release is required but he doesn't understand that and refuses to provide me with anything in writing. So I cannot sell my car and I cannot drive my car as the repo man assured me that my car is still listed on LPR system and will be picked up. I am a single full-time working mom and this is my 17 year old daughter's car (she goes to school full time and works 3 jobs and needs a car). Neither Rene nor anyone at Westlake care nor will they accept any responsibility nor will they provide me with anything in writing so that I can go on with my life. Shadiest company ever with the most clueless individuals ever. And this is the short version!!

My credit wasn't great due to medical bills, so the interest rate was 20 percentish, but I had a loan with them one other time, they have great people working for them, and I really have nothing bad to say. They have been as good to me or better than most others that I've dealt with.

I went to a local car lot and found the perfect vehicle for my family a month after losing my previous vehicle due to flooding in our area. Westlake approved the loan and I was excited and relieved because I was just a few months short of having a baby and desperately needed the vehicle. Well unfortunately I had major pregnancy complications and went into labor almost 2 months earlier than my due date. I did miss my first payment due to the circumstances and called today when I was released from the hospital to let them know I would be able to make a payment in 2 days. I was advised that the company would no longer honor my car loan because the first payment was missed but that I could still make a payment. (And still lose the car).
I practically begged the representative for other options so that I wouldn’t lose my vehicle, even told them I would send all the proof that I had been hospitalized. They absolutely did not care and told me that I should abide by my contracts. So now I’m in a situation where I have a premature baby in the NICU that I won’t have transportation to go see. I’m devastated! I could completely understand if I wasn’t trying to pay them or avoiding any contact but that wasn’t the case. Clearly they are a company that doesn’t give second chances even in extreme situations.

The computer menu was very simple to get to a customer service rep. I was helped by Mary who was very knowledgeable and very nice and was able to explain to me what option I had and took care of my problem. Afterwards she took the time to go over everything we talked about and made sure I understood the outcome. Recently the car was repossessed without my knowledge. I called to find out where it was at, they kept hanging up on me. I had my grandbaby's car seat and my wallet with a decent amount of cash that was suppose to catch up my payments and then some. I'm still trying to call them but they continue hanging up on me. All I want back is my wallet and the car seat and my plates.

I bought a car financing through Westlake and never had gotten the car off the lot before it blew up. I was given my money back by the dealership. Said they would call a cancel the loan. Needless to say they didn’t do that, I’ve tried explaining that to Westlake they need to call the dealership who has the car I never took possession of instead of me even though I’ve already made payment to to keep my credit from being ruined. Westlake needs to be getting their money back from dealership not me!!! Call and hound them. I don’t even have the car. Never did!!!

I made a payment on July 10 and I got a confirmation number. I called back 2 days later and the non-English speaking guy told me that the confirmation number I got from their website is invalid and I never made a payment. I then spoke with a manager who had the nerve to tell me that I need to speak with my bank since it's their issue and told me good bye since she can't help me. What kind of people do they have working there? If your website gave me a confirmation number that payment has been made, how dare they tell me I'm wrong??? Are they trying to scam me, make my credit drop or what? Worse bank to deal with.

I was excited when I heard this company would defer payments. I never have steady hours and this would be excellent for me. The first time I asked was a couple payments in. The first person I called told me I was good and gave me the whole legalize on the payment being moved to the end of the loan. No surprise there. Then they blew up my phone trying to collect a payment. After talking to another person I was told I had to make 4 payments before I was eligible. K not a problem, made a double payment the following month. After the 4th, I was not going to be able to make a payment payment. Called in and was told no that it was 6 payments. Just tired of being lied to and never getting the same story twice.

This company has really pissed me off!!! I have had my truck since December 2017..have made payments on time sometimes double up. Never was late, never requested anything from them. This month July 2019 I asked for an defer of this month's payment. Payment due on July 8th. Began calling July 1st. Was told my account wasn't eligible. Escalated the call to a Supervisor. He told me he put in a request for one to call back that follow Friday. Called back rep didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Said nothing was put in and that they dont give extensions. So the past week I have been getting several phone calls a day about my payment due, not to mention I have also been calling. Telling the rep the same thing I get different answers every time. As well as told to call back everyday to see if their policy changes.
Today a rep called asked her why they don't give deferments. She said my account has to be ridiculously past due and have to have incur an late fee. Asked to speak to a Supervisor Heather **..she was very rude and told me they didn't have to give me an deferment if they didn't want to. Never heard of a company that would not help especially if they are a excellent customer. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE HEATHER!! HORRIBLE COMPANY "POLICY"!!! Something has to be done about this lack of empathy for good loyal customers. I have read too many reviews that are bad and states the same situation I am in!

I just financed a used car through this company. My first ACH payment didn’t go through, and when I called to pay it over the phone they told me that my loan was placed in default and they wouldn’t allow me to make a payment. A simple accounting/technical issue that led to a rejected payment now has them attempting to reverse my loan and repossess my vehicle. With cash in hand and ready to pay the initial payment and all subsequent fees, NO ONE was interested in understanding the situation or trying to help. They made no attempts to communicate this issue to me via phone, email, or mail. This on top of asking for a higher downpayment amount after terms were agreed upon and the sale finalized. Worst car buying/financing experience ever.

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with! Rude, inconsiderate and no CUSTOMER SERVICE skills at all! They are CROOKS! If you have to do business with them pay them off as quick as possible. They will not admit when they are wrong or try to correct it.

Please use any other auto finance company. As per what everyone else has said in reviews, their interest rate is higher than anyone else’s, they will attempt to repossess a car after 30 days, the calls that they say they attempt to make come up as “scam likely” so no one would answer if they are trying to contact you and I asked multiple times to receive email notifications since I travel and don’t answer “scam likely” calls and they “don’t do email.” I did not originally have my loan with this company, they took over my original loan company and I have never had a worse experience. Find another loan company.

Customer service representative Brandon, was very understanding of my unfortunate medical condition, which resulted from a on the on the job injury. Followed by multiple surgeries and temporary causing me to lose time at work. This resulted in major financial hardship. Westlake have been accommodating and emphasizes my situation. After I submitted a draft for payment three months ago, the company drafted three months later. When I returned from vacation, I received a email that June was missed, and July coming up, so I sent the two payments. June 1st they drafted a payment, stating that I owed 500.00 dollars in interest. Ridiculous. Stay for this company. Customer service there is no good.

I had my car financed with them for 5 years. I never had a problem with them. Whenever I needed extension on a payment it was granted and they did help me when I needed time. I paid car off and received my title less than 30 days later. They were never rude to me and always asked me if I needed any help to let them know.

Midnight of my payment date the phone calls roll in about 20+ a day. I have gotten to the point where I have numerous blocked numbers now. I've gotten to the point where it's nothing but harassment. I understand the due date and that doesn't give them a right to call me over 20x a day reminding me. I have 22 numbers on my blocked list just from Westlake. It's very disrespectful and irritating.

I financed a car this past October of 2018. I bought it at CarMax which I believe is in cahoots with Westlake Financial. I think they prey in people with low credit scores then scam them. The price of the car plus the warranty which was an additional 2 grand came to a little over 10k. I traded in my car which I put down $3,500 on my vehicle. For the past 3 months I have had over $2k in repairs that my warranty wouldn't cover. Because of that I am 2 months almost 3 payments behind. I bought the warranty because I was told Westlake required it to finance me and yet the warranty covers nothing. The dealership keeps finding reasons why whatever is wrong isn't covered by warranty.
I called Westlake to make payment arrangements and I have been spoken to like I'm trash. They keep charging my debit card which was on auto pay, of course all my money went to the repairs so those payments they were charging kept getting returned NSF. I've been called a DEADBEAT etc. Well I have come up with part of the back pay but was warned that even if I pay it Westlake Financial will repossess my car anyway. Which will be totally pointless because my income is social security disability and is ungarnishable. So it would make greater sense to rework my loan and let me pay what is due at this point because if Westlake is going to take my car anyway they are not getting my money also.

I made a call into Westlake Financial to make a car payment. The first rep I spoke w/ said that, she couldn't hear me which wasn't a problem since I know I have a very soft low voice. So I spoke up to make it easier for the young lady to complete my call. After asking a few questions she began to talk w/ an unsettle voice which made me want to transfer the remainder of my phone call to a more professional rep. This is when I was transferred to Sergio, who was a lot more calm & had the patience for the volume of my voice. His customer service was excellent as he even had the opportunity to share a few things w/ me about my account I would have never known. I'm very grateful for wonderful reps who take pride in making sure they put their best effort in each & every call to ensure the customers' needs are taken care of. Thank you again Sergio.

I would not advise anyone to be financed with Westlake Financial, I have had problems with getting a straight answer, No one seems to know what is going on from one department to the next. I went to a car dealer and I told them I had no money to put down on a vehicle, I told them I have a trade that Westlake has funded, the salesman said, "That is okay, I can hide your loan on the trade in and also the money down and I can get you financed through Westlake." I made a very big mistake by going along with this dealer. They (dealer) lied on the Bill of Sale and they actually wrote on the Bill of Sale that I put down almost 4,000 in cash and they were taking the trade in that was also financed thru Westlake.. They told me to lie on the phone interview with Westlake and tell them I put down the required down payment when I did not..
So, Westlake called and had their phone interview which everyone has to have going with Westlake. Several days later after I picked the car up at the dealer, the dealer called me and said my wife screwed up on the Bill of Sale and she shorted the dealership a few thousand dollars. The owner of the dealership tried to get this few thousand dollars from me! I then called Westlake Financial and told them the problem I was having with the dealership. I told Westlake the truth that I never put down any money and the dealership told me to lie and said I did. One thing led to another and Westlake said they are returning the contract back to the dealership because the contract has been breached.
The dealership refused to cancel the contract and basically told Westlake I was lying! I told the dealership that I did not understand the Bill of Sale or the contract. There was no consideration given at the dealership (money down). Also told Westlake I did not understand the contract and I have texts showing the dealership saying I did not understand the contract, between no money being put down and not understanding the contract with the meeting of the minds, that is enough right there to be an invalid contract which is considered a breach of contract. The dealership refused to cancel the contract. Westlake then was going to honor the invalid contract and try to make me pay for the contract. They put the account on my credit report stating a new loan/account was established.
I then went and retained an Attorney because Westlake and the dealership are committing fraud by continuing with this invalid contract. The Attorney has acted on the case and I am still waiting for an outcome.. This was written to show the consumers or people out there the kind of business Westlake Financial does & will do whatever it takes to get paid from a deal no matter what the cost on their Customer! They could care less about their customer and making their customer pay for an Attorney to straighten a problem with a dealership that they could of easily straightened out themselves by canceling the contract, instead they are trying to collect on an invalid contract. The reps at Westlake did nothing but give me the run around everyday I called to remedy this situation.

I was originally with Summit and they filed bankruptcy and closed, sending our accounts to Westlake. Summit never notified me of the change that was occurring I found out by email from Westlake. I was very confused. I was never late when I was a customer with Summit. However, go figure they change companies and I lose my job then I am hospitalized. I called to see if I could change my due date so my car would not be late, as this is very important to me, and they said they needed one full payment before I could change the due date. I have been paying on this car for 2 years never late and just because Summit closed now my car will be late instead of adjusting the due date and it would stay current and also align with my paychecks.
I am frustrated because it is not my fault they gained my account, but they cannot help me until one payment is made. If I could make that payment I would not be trying to change my due date to allow me the time to get paid and pay it on time. I see many reviews stating this is a great company. I do not feel this way as I cannot get help the one and only time I have ever needed it because they just took over my account.

I have paid off my vehicle going on 3 months and have yet to receive the title. I have called 5X's and get different responses. I have asked to speak with a supervisor but that person is never available. I guess this place runs itself without any managing. Each rep. Seemed confused, placed me on hold and transferred my calls. I keep getting a runaround 'til this day. My last calls were yesterday. The first rep advised me my title was sent out as of yesterday! After almost three months!!! I was furious and of course at this point you can hear my frustration. This rep hung up on me! It made me even more irate.
I called back and of course a new rep, explaining their process as well as dmv's process which I've already heard over and over. I asked about my previous hang up call in which he advised their was no record of it. At this point I hung up on them!!! I have called dmv who confirmed nothing has been sent by the lien holders!!! I'm so upset and don't know how else to proceed. I'm starting to feel scammed. Why is this so difficult to explain???

They charge from 50%-60% of principal/interest. This outrageous and abusive. I am going to break away from them ASAP. The way they do conduct business is akin to a loan shark. Just horrible. Their customer services are outsourced from the Philippines and they usually do not have adequate information and transfer your call to dead ends. STAY AWAY.

We purchased a Jeep financed through the scammers, liars, and thieves at Westlake Financial 4 years ago in May of 2015. We had never missed one single payment and we were at the very tail end of our loan with only a few payments remaining until this vehicle is paid off. Unfortunately, my husband recently became severely ill with Lyme disease and has been out of work for the past few months. A month ago, we called in and explained the situation and asked if there was any way they could help us. My husband had finally recovered enough to be able to go back to work, but him being temporarily out of work for 3 months did a real number on our budget as we had to rely on my income and the small amount that he received from short-term disability to pay our mortgage and other bills while he was sick.
The representative that I spoke with at Westlake informed me that they would allow us to defer the next 2 payments (May and June) because we have had an absolutely perfect payment history with them and have never missed a single payment in the entire 4 years we have had this vehicle. She read us the terms and conditions of the deferral and we gladly accepted. We were so grateful and relieved as this would give us a good bit of breathing room.
Fast forward to this past Saturday morning, when we woke up to find our Jeep missing from our driveway and was nowhere to be found. It had been repossessed. We were totally blown away and had no idea how this was even happening as we had received the 2 payment deferrals just last month, which made our loan current, with no payment due until the end of July. I immediately got on the phone and called Westlake. The guy who I spoke with was INCREDIBLY rude, condescending, and downright unprofessional. He repeatedly cut me off while I was trying to speak and even told me to shut up at one point during the call!
When I demanded to speak with a supervisor, he refused to transfer me. Come to find out, our payment deferral that we were told we were approved for a month ago had allegedly been "denied" by a manager, even though we were told that it was all good to go and that our next payment would not be due until July 29th. We were never even informed that there was a possibility of it being denied by a manager! The exact words of the woman who set up the deferral were, "You're all set. Your next payment will be due on July 29th".
I demanded to know why our deferral had been denied after we had been told it was approved and why no one had even bothered to contact us to let us know that it had been denied (we received NO letters in the mail and NO phone calls informing us of this...literally. NO contact from them whatsoever). I was told told that they do not inform customers when deferrals are denied and that it is not their responsibility to do so. Um....EXCUSE ME?!?! How in the HELL were we supposed to have known that the deferral was denied after we had been told a month ago that it was "all set" and that we would not have to make a payment until July?!
And how in the HELL is it "not their responsibility" to notify us that we’re going back on their word and denying the deferral after we had been told that it was approved?! I became extremely irate and the scumbag from Westlake hung up on me. Now, we have to wait until Monday (tomorrow) to find out exactly what in the hell is going on and find out where our Jeep is. Thankfully, this was not our only vehicle (we had bought a brand new SUV before my husband became ill), but we are still BEYOND furious that we have been lied to and royally screwed over and that our credit is now being destroyed because of this, ESPECIALLY after we have not missed a single payment the entire 4 years we have had this Jeep.
Apparently, these people are notorious for doing everything possible to try and repossess your vehicle when you get towards the end of your loan, just so they can auction it off to make even more money. We have since filed a complaint with both our state's Attorney General's office as well as our local Consumer Credit Protection Bureau and we will be taking legal action. Westlake Financial is clearly a highly predatory lender and what they are doing is ILLEGAL! If you are offered an auto loan through these predators, RUN!!!! Do NOT do business with these frauds!!!!

Laila is a awesome supervisor. All I can say is that my original car loan company was bought out by them. So I was so confused on the switch and all the changes that I had to now explain to a whole new company. I was so upset about the changes but Laila took her time and explain to me everything. She even help me change some things on my loan that the other company wouldn't allow. When I was done I completely understand everything and it made me feel more confident about the change. All I can say is Laila sure has customer feelings as her first priority to make everything okay.

I tried to leave a review on YELP recently and was promptly threatened with a lawsuit, while I'm not 100% sure it was WF, based on my experience and research of this company, and other consumer reviews, it's highly likely. Go check out YELP for more reviews. They are bad. So my experience with Westlake Financial and Wilshire Consumer Credit (a subsidiary) involved bait and switch. They promised one rate and payment and then changed the terms of my loan, without telling me. They snuck it by. Fortunately I had evidence. Yet.... When I noticed it after the 1st payment, guess what they did? NOTHING! They ignore me. Then on another call, they said "Too bad, it's too late". And THEY NEVER CHANGED IT!!
I'm ashamed to admit this, but also when I signed up for the loan, I didn't even understand the loan terms and when I tried to pay off the principal they told me I couldn't, and discouraged it. It's like a mortgage. They don't let you pay directly towards principal unless you pay the entire loan off at once. When I asked for a copy of my contract they also NEVER SENT IT TO ME! I had to complain to their executives and threaten to sue in order to get one. Right now these companies are under a probation with CFPB for some egregious stuff (including the bait and switching). What's odd is they continue to deceive and engage in predatory lending. The company is worth almost 2 billion under the Hankey Group so they make a ton of money off vulnerable consumers. It's predatory lending.
I would never do business with these people and if you have, here are some other helpful agencies to complain to.... The best agencies to inform and request an investigation are: (1) CA Dept of Business Oversight because this affects their lending license: dbo.ca.gov. (2) CFPB because they are under scrutiny and required to be in compliance: consumerfinance.gov. Check out their consent agreement, they are prohibited from doing any of this stuff or else their probation is extended. If they did any of this stuff to you, complain! Consumerfinance.gov/poli… Review. (3) BBB - file a complaint, not just write a review and ask the BBB to do an investigation.

I was paying for a vehicle first two years, that had mechanical issues and no matter what mechanic I took it to they couldn't find out what the problem was. So finally I'd had enough and turned the vehicle back in. They took forever to come pick it up and gave me the run around every time I talked to someone! They sild it at auction for 4,000 and are still trying to charge me the full balance. I was told that all I would have to pay is the remaining balance from the amount they sold it first. IT WAS A TOTAL LIE. So now I've had it. I'm lawyering up to get some results. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. THEY GIVE YOU A LOAN SO EASILY BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO OVER CHARGE YOU!!! The only reason I gave them a star was because I had to.

First Mistake. I bought a car from Jim, M and M used car sale in San Diego. Well the finance was They said my credit was good but when I saw the paperwork on the financing. I bought the car M&M calling and asking for money and telling me not to tell Westlake Financial. Second Mistake. Making payments on the phone, 7-Eleven and CVS all charge $5 or $3.99. I was paid ahead even though they keep on calling you five times a day telling you you didn’t make a payment charging you late fees but here was a problem they send me in the mail where to go pay car loan, has a barcode, CVS and 7 Eleven. They scan it so all the money I was paying was going to two different accounts one on my name and the other someone else was an old account when the company just started.
Thank God they send you a receipt on your phone plus I had my receipt that they give you. I showed them to the 7-Eleven man. He told me I need to call the company I believe it’s PayNearMe. I called and a gentleman help me out and explain to me what was going on. My payments were going to two different accounts. Westlake Financial gave me two different account number. The album belong to some man I’m not going to mention his name and the other account definitely was mine but they were calling me saying I was late. I was paying late fees even though I was paying on time and increments.
Well I called Westlake Financial Account I was going on. All they wanted was your money. They wouldn’t send me to a supervisor. They just get them transfer me to the customer service until finally a young man named Enrique help me out. Send me to Samantha. The supervisor named Kevin ** definitely was an angel. He did investigation meanwhile I kept on making my payments and where is they kept on calling me telling me I’m late. Supervisor Angel found out that There were lots of payments that I made into that account. But I had gathered all the information sending him all the copies the receipt I had. Took him a while not one month more than that but finally he called and said he was sorry and the money was not going to be returned in my account. How many mine I paid interest on that account the other account that is and still making my payments on time.
They're always calling me and still they keep on making mistakes and never letting me talk to a supervisor. They just transfer me to another customer service and sometimes I’m lucky and I get a really nice person and they help me out so this started last year June and this year in March 24, 2019 looks like it was put back into my account, but I asked for my payment history to take to a company to make sure it was done right. So I didn’t want to give them any star but this app says I have to so I gave them one star and that is for the ones who help me.
