I was upset because a situation with my car. But Cristina was so amazing, I forgot about the problem. She answer all my questions and I appreciate her getting the time to explain everything to me the way she did. I just got out of the hospital. I had a heart attack and she was concerned. They should give her a position of a supervisor or a manager because she did an amazing job.
Thank you for posting a review Sonia! We have passed along your praises to Cristina. We are happy to hear you had a great experience and look forward to assisting you with your future needs.

I have been a customer of Westlake Financial for over 2 years now. I had no problems with them other than the high APR and finding out my payments are going towards interest. So I make my payments via debit card paying extra $5 fee every month. Well on February 23 I made my payment got confirmation email. Made my payment in March as I had always done. Well April 9th I was hospitalized due to having an emergency C-section and was in the hospital for several days. Let me say this my payment isn't due until the 20th of the month. So April 12th I was released from the hospital and I sent my husband to get my car from home because baby car seat was in it. Well he got home my car was gone.
After calling the police to report that my car was stolen I found out that it was repossessed. I immediately called Westlake to see why. The rep advised me that they hadn't received payment since January. I knew that was a big lie. So he said that my account was 58 dates past due. I said that impossible my payments are made by phone directly coming out of my checking account using my debit card. Long story short they located my payments said they had been applied to the wrong account. I couldn't believe the error they made. The rep advised me they would get my car back to me by the end of the day. So I got my car back that day. He also said a supervisor would contact me about the incident.
Well still haven't heard from one yet and it's now May a day away from June. I always watch my credit as I been repairing it for over a year now so I could get refinancing from my credit union because of this company. Anyway Westlake reported late payments on my account which drastically dropped my credit scores. I was pissed because I been working hard to get my credit scores up and they were all in the mid 600s 631 656 670. So I called Westlake and talked to several representatives due to some being really rude and aggressive about a mistake they made. I finally spoke with a Mrs. ** and was advised the error would be corrected and they would notify all 3 credit agencies. Also I would receive a goodwill letter per me requesting one to show my credit union so they could see this was not true on what Westlake reported to the credit bureaus.
Also I was charged all types of fees for when they wrongfully repossessed my car. As I stated earlier it's now the end of May still no phone call from any supervisor and nothing has changed. I call at least once a week and I either get a rude response from representative saying what else do you want us to do. "We returned your car you should be grateful for that" I'm like, "Excuse me my car was taken due to an error made by Westlake applying my payment to someone else account. Note they still haven't applied that payment back to my account and the fees for repossession are still being charged to my account which is not right and upon talking to a lawyer they couldn't charge me for their mistake and they don't remove said fees update the inaccurate information they reported for me to contact them and they would proceed to assist with filing a complaint with BBB and other actions as violating my consumer rights.
With all that I have said. I personally would never have used Westlake Financial Services for my auto loan if I had known what I know now and what I have experienced with them. Also I received numerous calls after I had made my payments over the course of 2 years demanding payment after payments had already been made. Then from the incident that happened in April 2018 upon calling to get updated information on my account the representatives had wrong information and they didn't even know my car had been returned. Told me I would have to pay over $1200 to get my car back. So as far as representatives having accurate knowledge of account information they don't.
Every time I spoke with someone they was either very rude or aggressive. Treated me like I was a hassle to them one even stating "You can't keep calling us every week about the same thing." I was in shock when I was told that and replied I have the right to call until the matter is resolved. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they are very unprofessional and they don't care about you as a "CUSTOMER". I worked in sales and I was trained to help resolve whatever the problem or situation was. Also I would have to repeat myself over and over due to representatives not able to clearly understand English as everyone I spoke with was foreign and I had trouble understanding what they were saying.
I truly regret doing business with this company. My loan was originally $15988 and after 2 years of payments plus a down payment of $2800 (I was only required to pay $1500 down but I put extra $1300 thinking the payments would be lower). I'm still owe them $13908 and I pay $367 a month plus $5 fee for paying with my debit card which is ridiculous. As I write about this experience and nightmare in which I'm dealing with I have not seen any action that I was assured by Westlake would be corrected. I can't imagine that I would be going through this awful situation and I will personally be taking the next steps in order for me to get resolution on the issues. Sincerely very disappointed dissatisfied and wrongfully done customer.

Clearly I'm not the only person with this issue... Vehicle paid off in mid March. Sent almost 4 grand, waiting for a title ever since. My personal bank, insurance company, and myself had upwards of 10 conversations with reps, supervisors, title dept, their supervisors. Even my insurance hates calling them. Reps are extremely uninformed, I've been lied to almost 4 different occasions on title status, they lied and said it was mailed twice and it wasn't. I was told they had the title, then they didn't hold titles, then they had it again and it mailed currently apparently.
Today alone I've been HUNG UP on 4 times, once by a rep and apparently 3 times by supervisors "that cant hear me" after the call is transferred. So 4 hours of my morning on the phone with absolutely no answers. I would tell ANYONE who considers financing through this company think twice. Thankfully I have other vehicles but they have made selling the one through them an absolute nightmare, and still continues to be. And NO Westlake. I do not want to email your company, my lawyers will be contacted if it's not resolved.

Westlake Financial is the worst company I ever had to deal with. Customer service reps are very rude, unprofessional, they lie and no one is ever on the same page. One person will tell you one thing and another person will tell you something different on the same issue. I have been getting the runaround for 2 months about them sending me my title. I cant even sell or trade my car in, and I have yet to receive my title. If Westlake Financial was the only company to finance me, I would rather walk or catch the bus to not have to deal with them EVER again. Please use someone else for your financial needs. If you use Westlake Financial, you will be sorry. TRUST ME!!!

My account was transferred from its original lender, Pelican, in March 2018. My last payment directly to Pelican was March 13th. I paid my April’s car note directly to Westlake on April 13th. When I called to get my account information in order to pay May’s car note, I was sent the statement as well. When originally speaking with a representative from Westlake I was told that nothing would change. However, my last payment to Pelican (which they forwarded to Westlake) showed 6.39% interest being charged and the remainder went towards the principal. However, when I made my payment directly to Westlake, 100% of my car note went directly to interest.
I called several times and after being left on hold and hung up on twice, I spoke with a representative and was told that they "meant" to charge me 64.23% interest and the remainder to the principal. When I asked, "How is that possible, that’s not what I was being charged with Pelican," I was placed back on hold and several minutes later, I was hung up on again. So, I decided to send an email, with all the details and attached statement, to customerexperience@westlakefinancal.com and it’s been almost a week and I still haven’t received a response. I’m still researching my rights and what I will have to do to rectify their mistake. It's extremely obvious they have no intention of correcting their mistake on their own.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. The loan was paid in full by Geico Auto Insurance. Westlake added an additional 608.00 for towing fees and Geico had taken care of the ENTIRE bill. Now they have reported a past due on my credit report and I never received a bill by mail to notify me. Please do something to make sure that companies like this cannot harm consumers such as myself. I hope that no one will ever use Westlake Financial... very dishonest and corrupt company.

Do not use Westlake financial, I'm in a lawsuit with them now, I sold my pickup to my father in law and he banks with Western Security Bank and they sent Westlake a cashier check and I have proof that they received it and on the back of the check it even has their account info where it got deposited in and they even confirmed with me that it was.
But now they are saying that they didn't get it and when Western Security Bank calls them they just hang up on them, they do nothing but screw people over, and now today my friend comes up to me and says they try to repo his truck cause he was a month behind and he calls them and tries to show them proof that he paid it and they say, "Nope." So now he's getting a lawyer to go after them!!! This company is not worth dealing with. They will only cause problems down the road for you!!! I can't believe this company is even around anymore and if anyone does not believe me on this I would be glad and happy to show you proof and I will be smiling and laughing to prove it to anyone!!!

I have had the worst experience with this company from the customer service representatives to the supervisors. I paid off my car note early back in February. It’s now May and I have not received my title yet despite me calling speaking with different representatives. I took it as far as to speak with a supervisor and they lied also about sending in the request. They claimed they sent it out to me but It's really ironic that I didn’t receive it but if I was late with my payment I would have received a letter. I beyond upset about this.

It all started when I called in October to make a payment towards all fees on my account. The representative that took my payment did not do so. I was not able to see this was not done until a payment history was sent to me when I called in about my account. I then made another payment on my account and again a partial amount went to fees and interest. After speaking to many supervisors I was informed that 25.00 in fees would be waived from my account, however when I made another payment I saw that 25.00 was taken again to interest. After everything was situated so I thought. I made my April payment And discovered that I had a late charge. When I called in I was advised that my March payment didn’t post in their system until a month later. Which isn’t my fault. It’s never ending with Westlake and no one ever seem to know what they’re doing.

I have a repair shop and one of their loan customers brought a truck to me for repairs. I am currently owed $8000 toward repairs. Westlake repossessed the truck but didn't take it due to the lien against it from me. They said they will not release the title or a letter from them saying they are releasing the truck to me. "It is against our policy" or so they say. What are they going to do with a title and no vehicle? How hard is it to give me something considering I told them where the truck was since the owner wouldn't. I would never deal with them after this.

I wish I can give no stars, I have been a customer of Westlake Financial since 2016. I have made my payments on time. The past couple of months I have come across an hardship which I became behind 2 months, I recently become very ill. (March and April) I called on 4/10/2018 and made a partial payment of 200.00. I was then asked by the representatives if I at least like to make the March payment. She could work with me with April. I informed the representative that I could not at the time but the 200.00 is what I could pay them. I also shared my current health and the reason I was behind. I would make the remaining payment and additional payments 05/18/2018 which is a Friday. She said that she could note that into the account. May came around that was another car payment added to my owing balance. Which brought it to 888.02. I had already informed any owing amounts will be taken care of on 05/18/2018.
05/04/2018 my car was repossessed a Sunday. I called today 05/07/2018 and spoke with Danyne ** and he advised that he did not have a record of repossession with the company Westlake hired. That it takes 24 hours possibly to get that information. He then said he would give me an estimated cost that I would have to pay. He added an additional 500+ estimated in fees. Not included also storage fees. Because the car would need to sit until the 05/18/2018 that's when I originally said I would pay all owing balances in full. Now I have stayed in communication with this company... I notified when the payment could be made. I wasn't notified of anything other but... it will be noted.
I have not an issues with paying them prior until my hardship. I'm now is to believe this is how this company capitalize off their consumers. This how they make their money. Please note... 888.02 was what my car was repossessed for. I kept them informed. I provided a date. There is people that owe more than this... which would never pay. I paid my payments. Just like a person that has an unexpected life event that happens. It just set me back. I will be posting this on every social media site I can think of. I will not recommend this company to anyone. If anyone ask me about them I would say nothing but... "Don't do it. Find another financial company." Oh yeah... these days a good paying customer is not valued anymore... even with an hardship. At least with this company.

We contacted Westlake Financial to obtain a Release of Lien for a vehicle we paid off over 10 years ago but for which the DMV still showed a lien by WFS. We contacted WFS and was told to contact a third-party company in order to get that document and refused to help. The cost to have the third-party provide that document would be $45.00. I spoke with person after person and all I got was "sorry, but we can't provide that information to you. You will need to contact mytitlesupport.com". Our loan was through WFS, not a third-party vendor. That document should have been provided as a matter of course. The customer service was horrible. They refused to help saying that they provided all of their records to the third-party vendor and we had to contact them. When I asked them to contact the third-party vendor on our behalf and get the document for us since we were their customer, they refused.
If at all possible, DO NOT BECOME A CUSTOMER (VICTIM) OF WFS. We also went through this process recently with another credit company and it was a breeze. They didn't give us a minute's grief and provided the document the same day. Our loan was sold to WFS and if I knew then what I know now, I would have paid off the loan before having it transferred to WFS. Any business that conducts themselves in this matter does not deserve to stay in business. Run!

After 58 hours never received a payoff letter. Called again. Gave me the run-around nonsense that the payoff department is very busy. The only thing they can do is requesting it again. It's now 2 weeks after payoff and didn't receive anything. Spoke to supervisor... And still nothing. Meantime I can't sell this car and no one to talk to. Be very careful...

I traded in my vehicle that I purchased from Westlake Financial which high interest car loan from CarMax 24.99 before the first payment was due to Kia. Apparently Kia got the payoff balance wrong by 211.07 underpayment. Westlake Financial has been called and sent email with payoff pictures from Kia. It has been a month long calls and harassment from Westlake over $211.17 which Kia stated they will pay. Meanwhile after getting screamed at by a Westlake employee stating it did not matter what amount was owed or what time length was involved that I was responsible for payment.
This was the worst customer service I have ever received as well as asking for a supervisor and explaining that not even 30 days has passed since I contacted Kia to fix this matter and had sent in email with payoff dispute I was being treated rudely and had numerous calls in a harassing manner. The supervisor stated I would not be reciprocal of any further calls yet this continues to the point I keep blocking every call from Westlake. This company is unprofessional and I am aghast at my treatment over a 211.17 payoff dispute which Kia has said they will address.

I have had the worst experience with Westlake Financial. I'm 79 years old and on my last payment they have really screwed me, I receive a payment history via email and was blown away by all the discrepancies. I receive a statement as well for $2,266.84 which has now gone to $2,279.62, as I was going over my history and come to find out that Westlake Financial is as crooked as a dog's hind legs. And the employees all tell you something different, they never scroll down and read notes and everyone I have dealt with lies from Frank, Gary, David, George, and Diego and my list could go on with all the people I talked to in the last week. Just filed paperwork with the Fair Trade Commission and the Federal Trade Commission, over this company. They were ever so happy to take my complaint about Westlake Financial. Apparently they have had many complaints on this company.
Well surprise, surprise, and every time I ask to speak to a Supervisor or Upper Management I get transfer to Diego (**) who in my opinion is a snake in the grass. The bill I received shows I owe $871.78 in repo fees, and according to my payment history is not the same. On 2-1-16 they charge me $350.00 for Repossession Expenses, on 2-3-16 sent payment of $1,417.96 MoneyGram for Repossession Expenses. Then on 3-24-16 to 3-23-16 they charge me $50.00 Repossession Expenses and another $200.00 on 3-24-16 to 03-23-16 which show on my statement. Oh but it gets better (don't you just loved being overcharge). Then on 1-4-17 I make a payment for $500.00 for car payment through MoneyGram. On 1-5-17 I was charge $907.18 for Repossession Expenses (sent MoneyGram) and then they charged me on 1-10-17 for $350.00 Repossession Expenses.
On that same day they charge me $75.00, twice for plus $120.00 twice as well for a total $740.00 for Repossession Expenses. But wait it gets better. On 10-3-17 they charge me $1.77 Repossession Expenses on 11-3-17 was charge 0.11 cents for Repossession Expenses, on 12-18-17 $34.22 Repossession Expenses as well as they charge me again on 2-3-18 for $42.11 Repossession Expenses. They also charge me Interest Accrual Fees in the amount of $5,517.16 throughout the contract, the Late Fees they are charging me is $574.78. I feel I owe $310.71, they're charging me $263.28 more in Late Fees. Plus they want me to pay $808.53, and on 2-3-18 I sent a payment of $450.00 and on 3-3-18 another $450.00. In 36 months they have overcharge me $7,772.25 and total was $10,295.15 so the way I see it they are making extra $7,772.25 off of me.
I would never do business with its rats and snakes again. They prey on people and laugh all the way to the bank going SUCKER BORN EVERY SECOND. When I started with them the contract was $10,297.15 but instead made an extra $7,772.25 for a grand total of $18,067.40 off me. I have made so many attempt with Westlake Financial, to talk with them on this and all they do argue and threaten you with more late fees and repo. I'm going to call David Goldstein from CBS Channel 2 to investigate this Westlake Financial on their practices if I don't get results for this company. I talk to 3 people from their company and found out when talking to customer service that when you pay Repossession expenses they apply them to wherever they want, and they don't apply it to where it actually need to be apply to.
They want me to give a rating, but how can you give a rating when this company screws the customers left and right. I'm willing to pay them $1,200.00 no more to settle out, but they already threaten me and add more late fees. Sadly there was a returned payment. We were not notified via mail or phone. I was out of town. Today I come back and have a knock at our door. A repo guy. He had the car hooked up. He asked for the keys and I emptied my car. In 2 hours we paid 1704.40 via MoneyGram as no other payment was good. We were told you couldn't pay on the spot. So I called Westlake Financial to give them the MoneyGram confirmation number. Well, I was told I have to wait 24 to 48 business hours.
I then called back later to ask if we could avoid having this on my credit report. The guy was very very rude and mocked me over the phone. I'm a single mother of a disabled child. I now have to find a ride to work for unspecified days till the tow company gets their email. While these people have the 1704.40. Anyone needs a car loan... Run away far and long. Don't use these people. I originally had a loan with Condor and the government took them over and sold my loan to these people. I didn't have a choice. Very sad. I paid. I have no car, my credit is now screwed and they have zero customer service. Sad!!!

Today I stalked these people; due to the fact I need their help with my vehicle. It's currently in the impound and I'm not capable of getting it out and paying them on time. So I keep following up with them. Called about twice today. As humble as I am I spoke to the Reps with such respect. Majority like Latoya and the supervisor I spoke with earlier have been helpful and kind.
I got myself in a little pickle and spoke to one of the supervisor who had helped me and explained everything in a professional manner. Tells me to follow up with them in 2 hours. They should have feedback on my review. I do as I'm told. They transfer me to the department that was helping with the review. Which I get to FRED. In the beginning he seemed nice. But then he would make these smart remarks at the end of everything he would tell me. It's not what you say it's how you say it. He stated to me "If you dont like the fact you have to wait for the review period go pay for it!" Not one time did I say anything for him to assume I wasnt ok with the review period. He just made his little opinions when not needed. Like I understand Ive called earlier but they requesting me to call again to follow up.
I even told him like, "Don't talk to me like I'm a child, Give me the same respect given". I work in customer service department, If I would have spoken to someone like he did I would've have gotten written up. Don't offend me or question my intelligence. Yes I'm concern about MY vehicle that I pay for monthly. Another thing he kept insisting it was their vehicle. Like do you drive the car? No. Do you own this company? No. Don't insult me. Now I had to come write a review just for him because that was pathetic of him. Don't judge people by what they're going through. Never have I ever wrote a review but he really did push my button for me to have to tell him something and sit at desk like if I don't have something better to do. I even got out my character and called him a son of a **.

I purchased a vehicle and was financed through Westlake. Long story short I did not received what I purchased. I contacted Westlake and they pretty much said I was SOL and they couldn't help me. I hired an attorney, Westlake. We settled and bought the car back from me. I was refunded my downpayment plus all payments made etc... Thought the nightmare was over until I decided to refinance my house and had my credit ran. Westlake reported the acct. as a charge off and my credit rating dropped significantly.
I call Westlake and I keep being told that I need to speak to their legal department, however, they dont have a direct number so you can only leave a message for them. They NEVER return a call, at least not mine. I'm to the point where I'm about to hire an attorney and sue their ** again. Stay away from this company. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in my life. Save yourself the headache. I wish someone would have warned me.

I called Westlake to make a payment and was offered a settlement of 2000 dollars if I came up with the money in three days. I was able to do so the money was sent via MoneyGram on Friday May 30 2018. Two weeks later I am Begging them to send the title and payoff letter confirmation. They keep telling me it's on its way in 48 hours and how it's been expedited to me since it’s way overdue. Today April 10th I am calling and both of their phones have been disconnected. The account holder Abdul have never gotten back to me. Also, still no settlement letter have been sent via DocuSign. I want my money back or my title please!!! THANK YOU!!!

I have never taken a loan with this company however they sent a repo company out to my house to take my car. I stopped the wrecker at midnight as it was pulling my car from the driveway. The driver had my VIN and address but someone else's name as the owner of the vehicle. Fortunately I had paid cash for the vehicle (a year ago) and had the title in my possession otherwise my car would have been taken.
I called Westlake to find out why they were trying to take my car but they said they couldn't disclose any information. The county sheriff department did a check on my VIN and it came back that there was no lien on the vehicle so there is no reason for any financial institution to take it. The representative I spoke to at Westlake was not at all apologetic, sympathetic or reassuring. No explanation was given nor was I told that a mistake had been made and I could sleep peacefully without every sound outside causing me to get up and check that my car is still there.

Made every payment on time, when the issue that caused me to have to use these sharks with their double-digit interest rates was resolved, I refinanced - saved TWELVE points. I saw the payoff showed up on the 15th of March, called the 16th to get the timeline for the repayment of what the new finance company overpaid. I was told 7-14 business days to cut a check. Called back today, to check the progress, and now it is allegedly 21 business days, and my check won't get cut until April 13. I was lied to over and over and over again by various low-level call center people, passed back and forth from one fake "supervisor" to another, and finally told a manager would call me tomorrow (NEVER gonna happen). Never ever ever EVER do business with these people; they will screw you every which way they can. Now that I've vented, I'm off to file complaints with the Attorney General and the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions.
Updated on 06/11/2018: Westlake didn't send the overpayment. I complained and finally received it. Then they didn't send the title to my new lender, causing my lender to have to contact me to complain they didn't receive it. Westlake swears it was mailed, and lo and behold, about 30 days AFTER they claim they mailed it, it showed up! NOW - Paid off March 13, today is June 11, and it is STILL showing as an open account on my credit reports. A call to them sent me to an overseas call center, who has thus far been no help at all. Time to contact a class action debtors' rights attorney; if they're doing this to me, they're doing this to a lot of other folks, time to make them pay. And direct to Westlake: "Don't bother with your horsecrap "We care, call us" response. You're completely useless and deserve what you're going to get."

My wife and I bought a used car from a company that financed us through Westlake. A few days later, I got a call from a representative who barely spoke English for a survey of the buying experience. Then we got a letter in the mail saying that our insurance through Geico was about to expire and threatened to collect in full if not fully insured, we had insurance through Progressive not Geico, so the car was insured and the letter was insulting. Then to make the first payment, we had to call the company just to start making payments online in which they insisted on a debit payment in order to add their $5 fee on to it. Plus, the representative didn’t speak English very well. To top everything, 23% apr. WTH? It isn’t a credit card. Avoid Westlake if you can. They are a corrupt company that will fee you at every opportunity.

So, we have had our vehicle for a little over 15 months now, and my wife suggested we start making split payments to save on some of the interest. So we started doing it, however Westlake has a policy that no matter when you make your payment through ACH (routing and account number) it will not post until the next business day which means they get more of the payment to go to the interest than to the principal balance. Or you can make a payment with a debit card which they also charge for. So No Matter if you're making your payments on time or even early they are still cheating thousands of dollars out of people unknowingly. I can't wait to refinance through another company. I will gladly pay for that!

It all started in November of 2017 when I purchased a used vehicle from a car dealer in Chicago. This dealership wouldn't allow outside financing so I was stuck with Westlake. Needless to say it has been a bumpy ride so far. My family has been doing business with Chase since the beginning of time and I have never been harassed or treated so poorly as Westlake has treated me. Now the current dilemma, I just received a letter from them (3-26-2018) that states my current insurance policy expires on 4-19-18. And they require "evidence" of insurance within 10 days of this letter or they will default on my loan.
First off my insurance policy will renew on 4-20-2018 at 12:01 AM at which point I will receive an electronic receipt. To meet their 10 day threat is impossible. These people are ignorant. Besides hounding me over the car title which in the state of Missouri the buyer holds and trying to sway me into buying gap insurance while using menial threats, this has been by far the worst financial institution I've ever dealt with.

Someone called me to verify the loan and address. I told them don't send to street address, send PO box only. They sent to street and mail returned. Got no first statement. When I called they said pay by phone, but didn't want to give me my account number. I finally convinced them that I would not pay without an account number. Made the first payment. The 2nd payment I sent by mail on the day it was due. The very next day I got 5 robocalls about the past due. ONE DAY! Then I got 2 more early the next morning. FINALLY I got a human call - with a person rambling on - I couldn't understand a word she said AND she was from the US - Texas.
Finally she said they expect payment on the day it's due and if I don't I should expect multiple calls. I said I'm never late on any payment and I always pay within grace period - said no grace period. I asked her just how badly does Westlake Financial need my $201.45 that she would devote so much time and energy to collect my debt. She said paying by mail so check arrives after due date is not acceptable. What a mistake I made getting a loan from them. Never dealt with such incompetence and greed. Predators for collection. I'll make sure they get their money before the due date and you can be damn sure that I will never borrow from them to purchase a car again.

I purchased my car in October 2015. I was making payments on time but then ran into some financial problems. My wife stopped working and I was paying all the bills myself. Westlake Financial was very nice about deferring payments for me. They do call as soon as the payment is due which is unappreciated. When they did the deferment they charged me $50 and then told me my payment would be moved to the back of the loan. I had three such incidences. My maturity date started out as November 2017. With the three deferments that put my new maturity date at February 2018 I made my payments mostly on time.
On February 15th 2018 when I made my payment I was told I owed $800 which is equivalent to 3 months of payment. When I explained my contract was due in November and that I paid until February there goes my three months of deferment. They told me no and attempted to give me some explanation about interest and other stuff. Now I understand the late charges for the months that I paid late. But to charge me a $50 fee plus one whole month payment for each of my three months of deferment is ridiculous. So here when I'm thinking my last payment was February 2018 I'm still owing $814.

I hope the CEO reads this if not I will make sure he gets a letter. I understand there is certain method to every situation and the customer service or the bank should have all the proper sources or resources as well as proper training as to what or how to help your Westlake Financial customers/client. Our backstory, my BF John ** got his car repossessed, he has a loan with your bank. Yes it is his fault but he and I (girlfriend) his support, acted as fast as we could. Saturday 2/24/18 his car was taken in the morning. We called around noon to pay his car and late fees. Granted the representative couldn’t tell us anything about the car or where it is so we waited until Monday.
Monday morning 2/26/18, John called your bank in the morning and was informed that by a representative of the bank and everyone else who works at the bank and those who have control over the info that gets in the system of the bank has no idea where his car is, how much he has to pay. Not one piece of information was given to him, other than he was told to check in with the bank between 24-72 hours. WE ARE AWARE THAT STORAGE FEE IS NOT CHEAP! Fast forward today Tuesday 2/27/18, a day later John called in the morning once again and he was told he owes $531.17 to get his car back. Because John was working, he gave me the authorization to call the bank and speak with the representative. He gave a verbal authorization through the phone with one of your rep. I WAS TRANSFERRED AND PUT ON HOLD 7-8 times. Please see the call logs and notes.
This was the worst customer service We have ever experience and it’s almost personal that we were not given proper information. When I was on the phone during lunch time with a guy named George, his last name starts with an **, please look at all the calls logs. At first John was told it’s ok to pay over the phone with the bank or do MoneyGram. The whole time I was on the phone to try and pay the amount, at the end I was told that they can’t take my payment over the phone because it's faster to do MoneyGram at Walmart. He specifically told me to go to Walmart and do the MoneyGram there because it will show up on the account right away. No other information was given other than the code to send the money over. EVERYONE IN YOUR TEAM WHO HELPED US KNEW THAT WE WERE TRYING TO GET THE CAR BACK AS EARLY AS TOMORROW.
John and I went to Walmart after work at 7 pm and as we were in line John was on the phone with a rep confirming all the information we need to do to send the money over. To get it to show right away. We completed the transaction and he called the bank after and was told wrong the information again. John was told by your rep that MONEYGRAM will take 3-4 business days to clear up. We have the damn receipt from Walmart. We were told MoneyGram was the best way and fastest way to send the money for the balance to be cleared. None of these reps were able to help us expedite this whole thing.
I was also told by George that after we pay, it will take 24-48 hours for you guys to complete the paperwork. I asked him to confirm with me that if we paid tonight (Tuesday 12/27/18) that we will not get charge for the storage fee because we had paid and it takes for you guys the bank, Westlake Financial a day or two to process the fee. George ** told me yes that John won't get charged any fees while we wait for your bank to complete paperwork. We are not expecting to pay any more than we had. We are also not expecting to wait 2-4 days without the car. We have paid today. Please complete the process and get the car for release. WE DID OUR PART, YOUR REPS FAILED TO GIVE US THE CORRECT INFORMATION OR HELP US.

I never realized my interest rate was this high, I know shame on me. I was told by one person that I could have someone take over the payment on my car and have it transferred into their name. After waiting a week for the paperwork I called and was told they don't refinance the same car even if it's for a different buyer. My payment was 3 days late (within the grace period) and I will receive at least 4 calls before 11am. I told them I cannot answer the phone I'm at work just leave a message but they refuse to do that. I'm looking to have my credit union refinance the car for a lot less interested rate.
After paying on my car which I bought for $14k two years ago I still owe $12,500 only about one hundred and something is the principal and two hundred and something is the interests. My payments are $387 a month not including insurance. My credit was not the greatest but it wasn't horrible either. As soon as I get out of this horrible loan I will never do business with them again

I have been waiting for more than six weeks for Westlake to provide the insurance company the appropriate paperwork to settle a gap claim. Each week, I have been told the claim will be paid within a few days. Now Westlake is asking for a payment on a salvaged vehicle. I strongly believe that they are not giving the paperwork to the insurance company because they want extra money from me. In the meantime, daily interest charges are piling up. By not giving the insurance company the paperwork and refusing to cooperate, Westlake is causing the balance to increase each day. That means more money for them. They have no intention of giving the insurance company the necessary paperwork because they want to make as much money as they can. Don't waste your time calling to try to get answers to questions because five people will give you five different answers if you are lucky enough to speak to a live person.

I recently had my car repo'd after having been told that I didn't make a payment in two months. However, after being told it was a mistake and I did pay (I have auto-pay), they apologized, but had to go through the release steps as everyone else. I was originally told my car was to be released in 24-48 hours. I am waiting on day 3 now, and since I have to set an appointment to receive my car from the impound lot, it will take 4-5 days to get it.
What makes this even worse, is that if there are any impound fees attached to the vehicle I will have that adjusted on my car payment at the end. This is definitely going to the BBB, and furthermore this company can kiss my ** if they expect me to pay for something that isn't even my fault. It's bad enough I haven't had my car in 4 days (and won't for another 2-3 days), but attaching fees and adding to my interest loan is even worse. I am going to refinance with a different loan organization ASAP.

I always paid my loan using one account at Wells Fargo. One day, at work, I get a call from Westlake Financial saying my payment doesn't go through, because Westlake couldn't find my bank account. I was shocked!! They found it all the other times!! I asked what to do, and was told to wait on the letter they'd sent me. I never got any letter, and I can't get calls at work. On Friday, my kids and I go to get into the car, and some guy had it up on a tow truck. It was being repossessed!!! I called Westlake, and was told to go to MoneyGram, and send $x by Express Pay. I got a ride to Wal-Mart, paid the amount they wanted, got the receipt, called them back within 15 minutes. Then, they say it's going to take 2-3 working days to get the car back.
WHAT??? I sent the money by express!!! This is 2018!!! This refusal to cooperate with their customers is likely to cost me my job, since I need the car to get to work. This can't be real. I never received any letter from Westlake. The money was there, in my account, waiting to hear from them on how to proceed with the payments. I need this car back, now. How can they not find Wells Fargo bank?? It's the only account I have, and the only account I've ever paid them with. So feed up with Westlake. Do they only have one accountant, sitting at his desk with a ledger sheet and a pencil??? How can it take them so long to return the car.

I have attempted to contact Westlake on several occasions. I sent them a check that was to be applied towards my principal payment (as noted on the check). Not only did they not do this, they have blocked my ability to pay my bill online and they are refusing to acknowledge my several emails I have sent in regards to their error. I had to send them my final payment through snail mail because they want to make things so difficult. In other words, my car could have been paid off to this date if I hadn’t had to mail my check. I had to mail a check because they won’t allow me to pay online. They won’t allow me to pay online because I expected my prior check to go specifically towards my principal balance and I called them out on this.
I would not be surprised if they refuse to acknowledge my final payments and attempt to repo my car, even though I have offered to email them “Proof of Payment” from my bank (I sent the checks from my online banking). Do NOT tell me to contact you at CustomerExperience@westlakefinancial.com. I did and you did not respond! Just like I receive NO response from WestlakeCustomerCare@westlakefinancial.com. This is a shady company in cahoots with shady used car dealers. I took out a car loan, canceled it because I found out they were charging me $240 a month interest (25% a month!) Instead of removing the lien from the car they left it since they were in cahoots with the shady used car dealer who held my car hostage and wouldn't remove the lien so my friend who owned the car had to sell the car to the dealer for an extremely.low price since he couldn't sell it to anyone else because of the lien. Now, look at the rest of the complaints here. The company only says they are so very sorry people are having problems and to get in touch with them so they can resolve. This is a phony statement. They know damn well they caused all of these problems. They just say they'll be helpful just to look good on this page. Stay away from them! Far away!

I have power of attorney and suspect that there has been fraud on his loan application and have been requesting a copy of the loan agreement be emailed to me and keep getting the runaround that they have a problem internally with their server and can’t email me an attachment. I have spoken with numerous customer service agents and they all have assured me that the contract has been mailed to my address and as of this day I have yet to receive.
I don’t think it should take 45 to 60 days to get a copy of a finance agreement. I have a pending criminal case against my siblings and need the copy to provide to the authorities. By far, this is the worst experience I have ever dealt with an organization in trying to get documents that I am legally entitled to... How long does it really take to figure out the problem and email the documents???

I purchased a car in August 2015, in September 2017 the car was damaged by the town that I live in and I contacted Westlake Financial to have a payoff quote and end my dealings with the company. I had had terrible experiences with this company in the past. They had continuously process my payments late even though I was trying to process my payments through customer service. Upon receiving a payoff quote I was told that the balance of my account if there was any would be credited in the form of a refund. 2 of the vehicle warranty that I had purchased I made a payment that was posted on September 4th for the payoff amount quoted to me of $3,771. The balance that was left on the account I was told would be $500 which would be credited due to the fact that I had a vehicle warranty that was supposed to be refunded because the car was no longer operational.
I was told my balance is paid in full in December of 2017. I received notification that my vehicle loan was set to be written off because I had a balance of $683 which was not quoted it to me at the time that the payoff of the loan was made. I contacted Westlake Financial and was advised that the balance was the end portion of a loan that I was told as of October of 2017 was paid in full. I offered to make a payoff of the total amount of $683 and was told that the only way I can make a payment will be to make it in monthly installments.
They'll also advised me that they have Mark the payment 45 days 60 to 45 days past due and will be writing a loan off. As of January 1st I was not given the opportunity to pay the loan off. I was told the only payment that they could receive will be in the form of monthly payments which would stretch out the interest and payments that they received from me on the $600 balance. I contacted that I would not be able to pay off the balance in full that I would need to make monthly payments. This I believe is an effort to obtain additional funds in the form of interest payments and late fees from me.
I'm currently pursuing a complaint with the Connecticut Department of Banking as well as with the Better Business Bureau in my state due to deceptive financial practices and practices but are against FDIC and financial lending practices in the United States. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. They operate as loan sharks. They intentionally instruct their customer care Representatives to do anything and everything possible to cause clients have late payments.
The primary way that they go about doing this is to cause payments that customers attempt to make an account to be placed as promised today but not actually processing the payment. This is happened to me several times during the life of my loan. I gave payment information to the representatives and instead of processing my payments they placed the information as a promise to pay which cause late fees higher interest and caused the company to offer me a deferment due to the confusion and the error made by the representatives.

Fast forward to today, I receive a letter telling me that I am 45 days past due, on a deferment that I requested months. This is a negative remark on my credit report, and they are also talking about repossession? Really because they caused me to be 45 days past due because it apparently takes 2 months to process a deferment. The same deferment I requested from them, I also requested from my other car loan people, and it was done within TEN minutes of the phone conversation. I cannot with these people, and to top it off, Marlon ** wants to argue with me instead of listening to me the customer, with the issue caused by them!

This morning, our truck was stolen from our home with our wallet inside. We call the police and they tell us it was reported last night. We call Westlake Financial. They tell us the payment was not paid. We confirm we had paid the bill for two months on Jan 8th- and received the confirmation number which is in said stolen truck. The woman tells us we should have an email confirmation. We do not. We have never received an email from this company. Turns out they put our email address in completely wrong- like basically made one up.
Then the woman tells us it's our fault for not making sure their company processed the payment correctly. Even though we received a confirmation number. And furthermore now we must pay the two months (which is fine- funds are there lady) AND a $350 towing fee. Are you serious right now?! You cost us an entire day of work, the headache of arguing with you, you failed to process our payment and somehow it's our fault and we have to go through this mess?! After I was told that my December payment was rolled to the end of the loan and I paid a payment this month, I woke up this morning to my car missing. I called Westlake and was told that I was over a month late and that they had tried to call me. I have received no voicemails and explained to them that I cannot answer the phone while I am at work. They claimed they left a message on the 17th but I never got one. They then told me that I had to pay basically more than what is left on the loan in order to get my car back.
The loan is over in two months! I find it quite strange that all of the sudden this happens so close to the end and to have extra money charged? I have been struggling with medical debt and was so happy that I was so close to finishing this payment so I could try to get caught up and now I am pushed even further back and had to take off of work today to figure a way to get my kids to and from school as well as figure out how I am going to get to work.
If they had just left a message for me to call like they said, this all would have been avoided. Now not only do I not have a car, I run risk of losing a job. This was of course after they sent me a mailer asking me to use them again for another car loan. Absolutely not! Never will I trust this company again and I will be sure to let anyone and everyone I know not to go with this company even if it is their only option.

Extensions are still offered. They say just call. The rep was able to read the notes back to me and everything and still could do nothing. Prior upon taken the loan out my health had taken a nose dive and I’ve been in battle with a terminal Illness.
Multiple hospitalizations has my business, work, and place of residence have all become a loss. My failing health has been explained in detail to each team member from customer support to high rank management as some have mocked, sneakered and even laughed at my struggle to fight. I’ve never been late my entire driving recorded with a car note until 16 months ago and no more than two months past with these heartless money hungry thief’s. Since notified not to call and haggle me three times a day I had fallen sick over the holidays. I was in and the hospital. Last week when I went to make a double payment on the vehicle, they wouldnt except payment. This Financing Institution went forth and said that they did not call me or notify via mail or email that the December 31st was the last day to make a payment and the account is closed with a repossession for the vehicle.
I asked the customer support that we please work out an agreement. I had a double payment. He continued to talk over me even though he knows the vehicle is my last place of shelter. This is only the tip of circumstances being told about the lemon that Glendale Nissan sold me. Now it is clear why this financial group Westlake and Glendale Nissan foster such a close work relationship, Birds of a feather stay crooked together.

Always being locked out of my account every month never fails then they wonder why I called so mad. My name is legally on the contract I should be able to access my account using my own personal email not the primary as we had a very bad falling out and have absolute contact. How is it you will call me if he’s delinquent on his payment but you won't allow me to access my own account. Correct me if I’m wrong but isnt customer service’s job to help and allow you to access your account. I was told today to make a new email address and register again. I tried still same message to contact customer service. What's the point they can't help me anyway. I do not know if this is how you treat all your clients or if it’s just me. So far from all the reviews it’s just me having this problem. I am currently in contact with a attorney as I see this as unfit and unprofessional and also against my legal right as a cosigner.
I have tried to be nice and patient but every time never fails same thing every time I call. How bad is it that customer service doesn't care enough that they ignore you and don't want to listen to you that I had to literally raise my voice and yell at the guy to get his attention. I am a US citizen born and raise and so was my family. I do not deserve this treatment and is unlawful and horrible way to treat your clients. I’ve even emailed someone from Westlake they’re like, “Oh call me so we can talk.”
So when I do get a chance to call during business hours nothing not even an email back nothing but the runaround even when I tried to take my name just off the title runaround again. Even the attorney I talked to said it sounds even fishy not only from my ex but also from the finance company. All I know is I will not recommend any of my family to Westlake Financial. My first time being a cosigner and not only was it a nightmare from my ex but also from the finance company.

I purchased a 2004 Cadillac SRX from Westlake... Replaced the engine, paid on time and late... Got behind then caught up. Was repoed one time. Paid that. Car was rear-end and my insurance I thought paid it off. I was never contacted by Westlake about a balance owed. Instead the account was charged off and tax lien was placed on my credit report. 3 yrs later I called. They still have all of my info. I asked why I was never contacted about the balance, the reason was, "It was an old account, your insurance company dropped the ball."

This young lady was truly remarkable and deserves a big thumbs up for her customer service skills. Thank you Autumn for being kind and compassionate but also staying within the guidelines of your companies policy on helping an account holder such as myself during a difficult time of financial hardship. Sometimes as customer service reps we forget that we could easily be the person on the other end of the phone and if truth be told a lot of times we are that person on the other end of the phone in our personal lives outside of work. You used your own personal experience with my employer (One of the mobile taxi companies) to assess the situation and at the same time solve my problem. Thank you so much for being the agent that I had the pleasure of speaking with today. I wish that every company out there that has a call center/customer service department had an "Autumn **" on their team!!!

It is the week of Thanksgiving, my daughter is standing outside in the cold waiting for us to pick her up & we are on the phone with Westlake Financial being repossessed for 37.00! The "department" lead only responds with, "it is not about the amount". It is all about the amount! I called this afternoon about my payment options regarding my newly purchased car and the lady on the phone named Pierina (IDK if I spelled it right) was extremely helpful to me. I was highly satisfied. She was very polite and she speaks clearly and everything was explained in an easiest way to understand. In addition, she set me up an account and sent me a document for the automated billing (in which I think is the most convenient way to make a payment because there is no additional fee). So, I don't have to worry about the extra charges if I use another payment option. Terrific job! Keep it up!

Regardless of the life turn that brought us to Westlake (mine was a 17 year marriage where I stayed home with the kids and well he obviously destroyed my credit) either way, we deserve common courtesies. Let's put aside the 23% eye gouging interest rate for a minute. Here's what to expect after you've written your name in blood. Now this review is from the view of a 4 year patron with not 1 and I mean not a single late payment ever!!!
If your payment is due ON the 6th (insert any date) they will start calling you ON the due date. Keep in mind every lender has a due date and a due BY date, often that 10 grace period... call will come on the due date, not once, not twice but up to 5 times a day if you don't answer due to say being at work!!! If for whatever reason you may need your 10 day grace period to get a payment out, be prepared for non stop harassment. Each call will originate from a different number. Often resembling the area code of your cellphone. Occasionally throughout the day it will be an 888 or 877 number, few time 310 but majority a spoofed phone number from the area code of your cell.
They claim to offer but it never works an online ability. Allowing you to make payments and view your loan. Don't bother, 4 years and I never could access it. You'll get an error and won't validate your info. Be prepared to pay through their phone system. Which BTW they have a deal with Western Union because the interest isn't nearly enough gouging. So your call is directed to a Western Union automated system for an additional $10 fee to make your payment. Save $10/month by ordering and mailing in old school checks!!!
Last month I bought a new car. Still owing $5200 on my Westlake note I took my chances to see if I qualified for a real loan. This major dealership put me in an off the showroom floor new vehicle, no money down, paid off my Westlake note and applied the $900 in equity to my new loan with Chrysler at half the interest!!! I can't express enough on the importance of on time payments. You would think that would end my Westlake harassment. NOPE. Now they are verbally nasty, and calling upwards of 8 times daily including weekends. Why? Because they want their money from Chrysler now!!! Demanding a payment from me for the month. Threatening to report me to the credit bureau with a snide "unless you don't care about your credit" comment. Finally, I had to say 'so on day 30 you report me to the credit bureau as a late payment and this is day 7?'
Yes they have notes the car was traded in, yes they know Chrysler is cutting them the check, they even told me Chrysler already has been in contact and inquired on pay off. Yet they will still harass me 5+ times a day till that check is processed and cleared. It's getting ridiculous at this point. Knowing Chrysler is cutting a check, knowing I traded in the car, this woman is still demanding a payment for this month!!! This isn't a back payment. She is demanding a payment for a month I didn't have the vehicle, a payment that they will be getting in the pay off.
I was current on payments. My due date is the 6th and due by the 16th. Well I bought my new car on the 3rd... BEFORE my payment was due. I don't owe them money but am told I will be harassed several times daily till I pay them money that they will receive in my pay off. I am being told that I have to pay them now to stop the calls and well since when the Chrysler check clears they will have gotten more than the pay off that it's on me how to figure out how I'll get my money back and when.
Bottom line. If you can avoid this financial loan shark do so. I read the reviews. I thought 'well yeah, they are a high interest second chance company I could see the issues some folks were having on repos and late payments. I figured they were pissed they just lost a vehicle. But this situation. I didn't lose my vehicle. I gained a brand new $30k car. I traded in a vehicle with equity (granted only $900, but I wasn't upside down or needed to roll over a loan). Just avoid this place. I can only imagine the struggles those who have been late faced or those fighting for titles after pay off and being told they owe more money.

I have had a car loan with this company for approx. 3 years. From its inception, I set up automatic payments with my Credit Union. I have not missed one payment. Tonight, 7:35pm, I received a phone call from this outfit telling me they have not received this month's payment. It so happens that the payment date this month fell on the weekend; neither Westlake NOR my Credit Union operate on a weekend... Therefore, although the automatic payment WAS made today, Monday, by my Credit Union and will probably reach Westlake tomorrow, Tuesday, they are calling me as though I'm some kind of crook trying to get away without making my car payment?? This is the second such incident with this outfit.
The fact that EVERY other payment has been made automatically and on time means nothing to them... They are unable to figure out that, "Oh... The payment date fell on a weekend day, so the payment will probably be a couple of days late..." I would advise anyone in the market for an auto loan to avoid this company like the plague, I know I shall never deal with them again, even if I have to pay an extra couple percent somewhere else.

When I called about it they said I would be reimbursed in 21 business days. Three weeks later I called to check on my refund they had not even processed it, if I had not called they would not have activated my refund. Bottom line, it took them 5 minutes to take unauthorized money out of my account but it will take them a month to send me a check via air mail. This is the embodiment of unprofessionalism.

Since I had no credit, paying off a car would help boost it, right? None of my payments went to my credit, I was panicking. First of, I should say I should have gone with my gut on this one. I would have saved myself SO much trouble. My husband and I purchased a vehicle in 2015 for $9000.00. We put a $5000.00 down payment, so you think that would make it around 6 grand on the loan (factoring in tax, tag, title, etc.) NOPE. The balance was 8900. I should have walked out of that dealership then. At the time, my Fiance and I had never financed anything before. The only thing that had ever been on my credit was a start-up loan I got after I graduated high school two years prior. They gave us a TWENTY-SEVEN PERCENT interest rate. Again, I should have ran wayyyy away. But we were young, desperate, and ignorant. This is why I say it was predatory lending they saw young, no credit, and pounced.
***THIS NEXT PART WE WERE CLUELESS ABOUT*** In addition to our interest rate, there is a 7 dollar a day PER DIEM which means "PER DAY." I called asking about this charge. They told me for everyday the loan is active 7 dollars will be added to the principal amount of the loan!!! The second I heard this is decided to try to refinance through another company. At this time we were 4 months into our loan and had never been late. When I went to refinance through my bank I was told that they could not help me due to the fact that I was 60+ days behind on the loan. I showed them my payment folder, receipts and bill with the Due date. Westlake had not been reporting my payments to the credit bureau. I called them in the bank's office wanting to know why this is happening and they could not tell me anything. After getting the run around for 30 minutes and being transferred about 50 times I was fed up.
Fast forward say 6 months my Fiance and I had tied the knot and had to pay for the majority of the wedding ourselves and we were in the process of buying a house. I was a week late on my payment and they called me offering a "Deferred" Payment, meaning they move that payment to the end of my term. I said sure, what they didn't tell me is that this payment would collect late fees. And these late Fees don't get added to your bill. They sit there, getting bigger and bigger. After paying nearly a year at 270.89 a month, and often just rounding up to 300 I checked the payoff. We had only paid down the loan 600 dollars! I was so shocked and upset.
Fast forward another 8 months. Over the past 8 months we had only been late on one payment, but there was a late fee that we still had no clue about. I call to make my payment in March, on a Tuesday. NOTHING IS SAID TO ME about a repo. I wake up to go to work on Friday and my car is GONE! I thought it had been stolen, because I left my keys in it. SO I call and file a police report to be called an hour later and told it had been repoed. I called Westlake and they refused to tell me where my car was. I was panicking because my laptop, purse, wallet, and my work computer were all in the vehicle. I even had a local deputy call and they wouldn't tell him where it was either.
I ask Westlake why I was repoed and they tell me it's because of an 85 dollar late fee. I was livid!! So over an 85 dollar late Fee they wanted me to pay a 375 dollar towing fee, not to mention a 50 reclaim fee, and a 195 reinstatement fee. As mad as I was I was going to pay it. The guys at the towing yard agreed to give me my stuff, but it was too late to get my car back that day. I spoke with Westlake and told them I would call Monday and pay them, because I was not going to pay them, and not have my car all weekend.
So Monday rolls around, and I couldn't get to the tow yard because my hours and theirs aren't the same and my husband is out of town. My off day was Wednesday so I told the tow yard, AND WESTLAKE I'd be paying them on Wednesday. I get a call Tuesday saying my car had been taken to auction. I WAS SO MAD. They told me I could get my car back after I paid the original charges for the repo, and now the auction prep fees, and transport fees Which came out to 1800 in addition the other roughly 500. And my car was in North Carolina. So needless to say I told them to keep the car. Please, save yourself the trouble and avoid the company at all cost. They are crooked and will do anything for another dollar.

These people harass you at any time of the day and night every day of the week, but, I was trying to work things out to get my car returned so I would not have to purchase another one, that was also understood. On 25 Apr 17, I called Westlake Financial and Phillip at **, answered and informed me that Bradley was not available, to hold and he would be with me to assist me.
Phillip and I started talking, and I asked, "Was my car sold?" He paused then answered yes. "So what is the balance from the sale so I can make arrangements to pay this amount off the amount?" They claim to try to sell my car for what I owed was $1313.74. I have so many owed amounts from them ($1288.24) etc., the amount I now owe is $636.74. So Phillip says, "When can you pay that." I stated "I can send a payment on 5 May 17." What this amount includes I did not get. If you are a business you really need to give customers the total breakdown and not trying misleading them or nor should we have to ask because there is always hidden cost if you are crooked. Phillip was not nice and decides to raise his tone rude. He says, "Call me back next Friday okay." I hung up.
Then I thought about it and called Phillip back to ask for a letter from Westlake reference the payment arrangement. He say, "We don't do that." I asked, "Are you the owner?" No. "Then I will just go over your head. I need a letter to state that Westlake agrees with this payment arrangement to pay this balance, so I can have this for my records and I will talk to someone else" and I hung up.
If you sign an agreement to pay a loan of any sort why is it so hard for a company to give you a letter of agreement for your records. Not fair. So I sent an email and will send an email or send a letter in writing to the company once I investigate who the owners are and the accountants as well as their lawyers continuously because this is the way business is supposed to be done. I really did not have any complaints until this incident, but, I have read before all the other people's complaints, and I have even heard from dealers that send their clients to Westlake.
They DO NOT LIKE TO USE THEM. DON'T GET A LOAN FROM THEM. I am still waiting for this letter of agreement for the balance and as I know from talking to an attorney this is a law for me to request an agreement for my records. I have that right so I am expressing it. This a very unprofessional act and Westlake should not be allowed to tell anyone that has dealings with their company they do not give out any letters of agreements for payment arrangements when the customer has to sign a contract to pay for a car with them, same difference.

I have been with Westlake Financial for over 4 years and have paid my bill every month on time. But because I owed a $33 late payment they were going to repossess my car. FOR $33, THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE MY CAR AWAY WHEN I PAY MY BILL EVERY MONTH. The first time I am late, they filed repossession orders. On top of that even when I paid the amount they still had representatives calling me stating my account was delinquent. This company is ridiculous. There has been too many people complaining about this company. Never take a loan with this company. They do not care if you have paid your bill faithfully for years. For $30 they will threaten to take your car.
This company needs to be further investigated. Shouldn't there be a time frame before they can file repossession and a minimum amount they can take our car away for? $33 is ridiculous when the car is worth thousands and I have paid well over $10,000 to them over the years.

In Nov. 2016 I purchased my car through this company from hell. I had made payments on time every month and even sometimes ahead of time. In March of 2017, I ran into some financial issues due to changing companies and my pay dates changed as well. The rep I spoke with was very helpful and said because of my payment history, he would suggest doing a balloon payment to cover that month's payment, I was perfectly okay with that. April 2017 I make a payment of $881 to get ahead. On April 20th, I wake up to go to work at 7:30 AM and my car is missing. I'm thinking because of that large payment I made the same month, that my car was simply stolen. I went through the trouble and agony of calling the police and filing a report and all... The police told me my car was repossessed. I was FURIOUS because now, I had missed work for the first time today... They are very strict on time so now I'm without a job.
I also looked stupid in front of the responding officers. I called Westlake, and the woman on the phone told me my car was repossessed and I needed to make a payment of $981 in order to get my car back. Not including repossession fees which totaled to a whopping $1351... I definitely don't have that amount of money lying around. Which resulted in the rep telling me I need to make a payment NOW or that my car would be sent to auction between 24-48 hours. I am at a loss for words to describe the UNPROFESSIONALISM of this company. They put me and my family through the worst.

Really after you keep calling and harassing me. I make my car note on time, sometimes before I understand. I'm going to call Attorney General today and also I'm going to get a lawyer because people that make the payments on time shouldn't be receiving call everyday. My payments isn't even due. We had a problem with my husband's paycheck at work, they sent his direct deposit to an old pay card and we had to wait for it to get straightened out. I explained this to Westlake and also told them we had never received our first paperwork. They apologized and said they would send out a copy of the paperwork and told me considering the circumstances I could pay that Friday. They then started harassing the dealership I bought the vehicle from about the payment saying they never told me I could pay Friday. The owner of the dealership told them to pull up the recording. After a day they said they found the recording and there was nothing said about holding off on the payment till Friday but would not allow us to listen to the recording. I have never had a problem with a financial loan service like this, do NOT finance through them.

If I could give 0 stars I would!! Since I purchased my vehicle it has been hell with this company. They have stated one thing could be done and then it can't. Or something could not be done, yet if it benefits the company it can now be done. This is the most unethical, horribly staffed, discourteous, deceitful, unresponsive, mismanaged company I have ever encountered. I have called several times and for my complaints and issues and NEVER can I get a hold of someone that can actually assist me or even cares to do so. Stay FAR FAR AWAY if you can. If this company is your last resort - WALK!! It will save your sanity.
I purchased my car in Sept 2016. I fell behind following the death of my brother Dec 2016 (Funeral expenses were paid Out of pocket). They offered me the option to place 2 months at the end of the loan. The requirement was for me to make an additional payment - no problem. I even asked what additional interest would be accrued so that I could be aware and cover what I could. Four months or so later, when I called in to make that month's payment I am informed that the payments were never moved and I now owed upwards of 1500. I most certainly don't have 1500 lying around. I was instructed not to make that month's payment until I had the full amount.
The next month (Aug 2016) my car is gone and OVER 2500 to get it back. This is paid Sept. 15, 2016 (over 2500). I get my things and car back TRASHED. Old cups, carryout food, cigarette butts all over. I asked them to review the calls from when I agreed to move the payments to the end of the loan and was told they could not do that.
Oct 2016 (after paying everyone back that I had borrowed from) I asked for extra time to pay Oct bill and asked if I could pay Oct/Nov together. They agreed. They stated just keep them informed if anything changed. Other bills arose and I called back and asked I could pay 1.5 months and then another 1.5 months (for Oct and half of Nov and then in Dec the remaining balance for Nov and full amount for Dec). Again, they agreed. Dec bill was paid early, Jan was paid early, Feb was paid early, AND march was paid early. Out of nowhere my car is taken. WHAT!! I called in and NO ONE could explain why. I am apologized to and told my vehicle would be expedited back to me.
Hours later I call to confirm and get an update as I am now stranded at work. I get a hold of a moderately trained, severely lacking mediocre customer service skills supervisor named Vanessa. She then stated my vehicle would be voluntarily returned and asked for the address and name of who would be there to receive it. She stated she would try to get it done within 24 hours. RIDICULOUS!!!
I called again a few hours late spoke with the same skill-lacking supervisor Vanessa and she NOW states the calls and account is being review. WHAT!! For what? She stated I missed a payment for October. As we went over the receipts - we determined THAT WAS NOT TRUE. However, if this were the case - did anyone attempt to notify me? Why were the payments not applied to the oldest month? Whose fault is that really, I make the payment and WESTLAKE applies it to the account.
Here I am thinking I am all set and ahead each month and they are talking about a late payment from 6 months ago. So if I was late with my cell phone bill in October and my services are not turned off - are they going to turn them off in March after all subsequent payments are on time NO! None of this makes sense. They screwed up and now trying to FIND a reason to make the repo valid. Not to mention I can NEVER get a hold of a MANAGER or anywhere I can make a complaint.

I had a loan with Westlake Financial and was advised that my last loan payment in would be in 11/16. I was informed that I would need to pay only late fee charges and returned check fee charge to receive my title. The rep that I spoke with never gave me a date when this amount would need to be paid as it was not going against my loan balance. For several months the company did not report this as a charge off, nor send any correspondence or make calls demanding payment. I made a payment on 3/20/17 in the amount of 396.44. This paid the remainder balance to get my title in full. On 3/22/17 I received a credit notification stating that Westlake Financial reported my account as a charge off with a balance of 396.44. This was reported after my account was paid in full. Not sure how this is possible when it was never reported prior to making my payment. Therefore I am launching a formal complaint and investigation.

This company is the worst. Always coming up with new excuses to take more of my money. I make my payments on time and they don't seem to report it because it hasn't helped my credit at all. It has happened a few times before already where I make my payments and somehow they "never received anything". They have caused me so much stress and so much money. Even if you continue to email, fax, or send any type of proof of payment, they will still continue to say that they have not received your payment. The exact same thing happened to my mother who is also financed with them. Again, many times we sent over proof of payment, we even had bank tellers helping us, calling the company for us and telling them it clearly showed in her bank statements we had made the payments. Supposedly they had not received any payments for her account for 3 months.
So after trying to fix the situation over and OVER, they finally somehow found the payments, BUT they never took off the late payment fees, which is something we are trying to fight now... I am tired of this company and I DO NOT recommend for anyone to Finance with them. They will make your life a living HELL. My car will be paid off by next month and I will make sure to keep every proof just in case they try to say I still owe them. But we are definitely trying to refinance my mom's car with another company.

This is the first review that i have written for a company. I have never been put in a situation like this and i am truly dumbfounded at how unprofessional this company has behaved with me. My vehicle got repossessed because I missed two payments. They did not warn me about repossession. Woke up and my car was gone. I had an agent contact me telling me that my vehicle was in auction. After balancing my finances I realized that I could not pay $1,300+ to get my car back then decided to tell them that I was going to let the vehicle go into auction because I could not make the payments and on top of that pay 1,300+ to get my car reinstated... The agent insisted on asking me PERSONAL questions to quote verbatim: "why couldn't you afford to make the payments?" "Where are you working now?" "What money can you give us now?"
I began to reply sincerely that my decision was to let the car go into auction and that I will pay off the loan. Then he began to get even more person and threaten me by telling me that I will still have to deal with them and that I am 23 and that this will affect my credit and that if I don't give them money that I will have a tough future. Long story short they somehow convinced me to reinstate the car because I had a call every single day from a DIFFERENT AGENT. Finally we came to an agreement and once they told em that it was going to be 1,300 then 2,300... then 1,3000 but he wanted me to pay right there and then and I told him that I would need a couple of days to come up with the money and the agent goes "No I'm sorry if you ain't got money then I can't help you because money talks" and continued on to say "I am going out of my way to help you when it's not my job to." The worst. EVER.

I get angry so now it's on.
I am going to make sure this doesn't happen to other people. They should not be in business. I will spend time and money doing what's right just give back the money you stole. This company is FRAUD!! I had my car repossessed because of a missed $40 payment that I was unaware of. They did not contact me whatsoever, my address was changed and they still found the car but couldn't find me to tell me it would get repo'd if I didn't make a payment ASAP (which I would have, had I known). They took my car on a Friday morning around 3 AM, knowing you have to make an appointment with the repossession place as well as them being closed on the weekend and that following Monday due to a holiday. I was getting the runaround for hours trying to figure out how much it would cost for release. Finally was told $750 was my total and I could pay $500 to get it out and $250 at the end of my contract. So I paid $500 and had to wait HOURS for them to release my car, I called and called they kept telling me to call back later.
The repossession place stops taking appointments at 3 PM, I called Westlake at 2:30 and they told me "your car was released earlier around 1 PM". Nobody bothered to tell me that every hour I kept calling!! So I had to wait till Tuesday to get my vehicle out. When I retrieved my vehicle, the ignition wouldn't start for a split second and the check engine light went on then off. I called & complained to Westlake and they told me a manager would get back to me, NEVER DID. Next day, as I am driving on the freeway, my Dashboard went out and everything shut off but the vehicle was still running, it went back and forth for the whole car ride, then I turned off for an hour and it went back to normal. Mind you, for the year I have had my car, I have NEVER had ANY issues with it!! Westlake told me to get a lawyer & have them call or to take it up with the repossession company myself. How ridiculous is that???
I then, looked on my online account and stated my repossession fees are now $620 so I called again. NOBODY could tell me what was going on, I have spoken to at least 12 different representatives!! Still NO manager or supervisor available. Until I lied and said "I was just speaking to a manager then my call was dropped." They sent me directly to a manager!! The manager broke everything down and it all sounded like CRAP!! They told me my bill this month was nothing because I already paid it included with the $500 then the manager told me I still owe for this month. Now if I wouldn't have called and found that out, I would have had my car taken AGAIN and it would have been MY fault!!
They lacked communication with me, charged me EXTRA and also, I was told 2 times my payoff was about 2,235 then the manager told me my payoff was 2,618 and could not explain why I was told otherwise! Mind you, the car was only 8,000. I put 4,800 down to get the car and I have been paying on it for over a year!!! AND IT'S STILL THAT MUCH LEFT??? After they asked him to fax his Driver license, proof of employment, three references. He did all of that and after they did NOTHING! He asked where his car was at and they didnt know. They kept telling him that the status on his car was "PENDING".
10 Days passed with him calling in trying to get ahold of a manager but no one could get ahold of him. Customer service is no help whatsoever. Most of the people that work in that department is **! Every single day my husband kept asking questions they could never answer only to tell him that everything was still pending! Today I had to be extremely rude because I was fed up and guess what? I got the same responses which was NOTHING!
Finally today he got ahold of a manager and the Manager said the car had a release order since 2:30pm yesterday. So why didn't anyone tell him this yesterday? Why didn't they put this in the system so he could've picked it up!? So the Manager gives my husband a number to where the car was at. He called excited thinking he was going to get the car back but only to find out that the car went off to Auction today in the morning all the way out to North Carolina.
That's not all though. They told him that Westlake Financial never sent a release form for my husband to pick up the car that they sent out a release form for the car to go off to auction... So everything that they asked him to do was for nothing. He did everything he was suppose to do and for what? So we contacted the Manager again and now he's saying hes gonna contact the people in North Carolina to hold the car so my husband can pick it up.
Mind you we live in Woodbridge Va guys. This is just so unprofessional and non-caring. I just want to let everyone know you get no chances with this financial company. None whatsoever. Even if youre a few days late kiss your car goodbye cause they dont give a **! They have no heart when it comes to their customers. I became disabled and unable to make full payments due to reduced income and they have no options to allow for extenuating circumstances.

This has been the worst experience of my life!! I have never ever write a review about anything, but this company uff! This company should be illegal or shut down. I got a 2004 Nissan Murano, and the lending bank was Westlake financial. First I gave a down payment of $5k for a loan of $10,464.94. First bill had a balance of $10,121.50 which idk where the rest of the money went. I had pay every month since 2013 the amount of $350.00 without missing a payment. At the beginning of this year I paid $6,000.00 toward the payoff amount since I really want to finish this loan and get away from Westlake forever. At the time I paid the $6k my payoff balance was $996.00. After that they repo my car, end up paying $1,121.00 to get my car back (plus $50 to the towing company, plus $28.00 to DMV cause they destroy my plates). I enter into an agreement extension with them because supposedly my contract expire.
Now I only had two payment left to make each of $350.00 equal $700.00. This happen 11/09/16, now is 11/29/16 and she said my account is 48 days past due and I have late fees of $48, other fees of $300 plus the $700.00. I also really do not understand how they let people be so rude, with really bad attitude work as customer service. I explain to the guy that I just finish paying $1,121.00 on the 9th of this month, how is possible to have late payment? His answer was, "If you pay your bill that would not be a questions you would be asking." I wish I would have all this money and pay it all just for me not have to deal with this bank ever again. I honestly don't let them keep the car, just because I already have put so much money into this car, more than what the loan originally was. I was told to provide proof of license and social security card. Several months later and many calls to my the credit bureaus and nothing changed. If my credit was bad from the start why was I not told to provide info before? They can't file because of some discrepancy issues. Credit agency told me nothing should hold them back file my payments in the system. I need financing help.

I have had an account with Westlake for the past 6 months. Initially, I thought most of the reviews to just be upset customers that did not follow the rules. Now I know differently. My payments have always been more than what is due and comes out of my bank account on the last paycheck of every month, my payment is not due until the 4th of the every month. On October 30th they withdrew not 1, but 2 car payments. I contacted them immediately and was assured the money would be back into my account within 5 business days. I am sitting on the 7th business day, my money has not been refunded, and the customer service manager decided to hang up on me instead of dealing with the problem. They are all liars - seem to be trained specifically to lie to customers.
Every single day I get told they are emailing me proof of the refund, which they have not provided to me whatsoever. As of this point all I keep getting told is that it will be in my account tomorrow. Every single day it keeps getting pushed out. THIS IS FRAUD! Stealing money from good paying customers is not the way to run a reputable establishment, something these people have no clue how to do. I have had to get my bank involved and my next step is a lawyer. Stay away from this horrid company.

To make a long story short, I was 17 days late with my payment. I made one payment on a Friday and the other on a Sunday. Today I realized that neither payment had come out of my checking account. I went online and saw that there was a $20 charge for insufficient funds. Knowing that it had to be a mistake I called them. When I spoke to the representative, the woman said that I had left out one digit from my checking account number, they couldn't locate the checking account and that is why I got the fee. I asked if they could waive the fee this one time and she said no. To top it all off I was told that because of me missing one digit from my checking account number, I will not be allowed to make payments using my checking account for 3 months. They will only accept my debit card payments, but with a $5 processing fee... All of this for one missing digit in my checking account number!!! I spoke to a manager and she was no help...

I got a loan through this company 3 years ago. Thinking I should be close to paid off I check and see I've made every payment on time and I've paid almost 9000.00. The loan was for 8075.00 at 23.24 percent interest which is high but at the time my credit wasn't the best so I took it. They're saying I still owe almost 4000.00 which doing the math would be almost 50 percent interest. INSANE... Then when I called their customer service the woman I spoke with was very rude. Said my loan was for 14000.00 and everything is in order.
I have my contract that my loan was for 8075.00 but when I insisted there is something wrong, she hung up on me. These people are criminals and should not be in business. After doing a little research Westlake Financial was involved in a lawsuit just last year for over 40 million for scamming their customers. This is my first car purchase and I've been scammed. Do not finance through this company of criminals. You will regret it.

I purchased a car through Westlake Financial a little over a year ago. They have harassed me ever since. If you are a day late on your payment, they stop access to paying online and you are forced to call them. They are bullies on the phone and bullies on their practices. I called to make a payment with them and they asked for my address, work information, and contact numbers. When they read the contact numbers to me, they read back my grandmother's number, my boyfriend's number, and my bank's number. They also read back my boyfriend's parent's address. I never gave them access to any of this information! My grandmother is 86 years old! 86! I don't know how they got her number but I am pretty sure that is illegal as I have never used her number for anything and never lived with her.
I was outraged and told them to take all of this information off file and that I don't understand how they even had access to that information. They said okay. They never stopped. My boyfriend had to block them. His parents still receive information in the mail. My boyfriend was told that he may not be able to reenlist for security reasons because they contacted them. I am in tears and don't know what to do or how many more lives they will ruin. I only have 8 months to go on my payments, but am terrified the harassment will just be too much. They call me three times every single day. I don't know what else to do. I wish I had read these reviews beforehand. Please do not finance with them. I am almost pleading with you all. There are better options out there, even low credit and no credit.

I've been a customer with them for almost a year now and to this day they have not gotten my social security number right on the account. Even after sending them copies over and over and over again. They admit that they receive them, but they have not updated the account to reflect my social security number instead of somebody else's. This means that whoever owns that social security number is getting credit for my payments on my account. Thankfully, whoever is getting the credit for my payment is getting good credit. What if somebody else was not making the payments in a timely manner?
They are assisting in identity theft and fraud and they refuse to change it in their system. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, but I don't know what else to do. This is a very dangerous practice and they should be shut down. Both my social security number and my driver's license number we provided the day I took out the loan and appear on the contract, yet they keep asking for them over and over and over again and refused to update their system.

If anyone is considering doing any type of serious adult business, trust me it's not worth it. I do understand some have bad credit, trying to repair it like myself, so we need companies like Westlake. They are extremely unprofessional, will blatantly lie, and take money from your bank account, blame others for their shady business practices. All this happen to me. For a year things went fine on my car loan, deducting weekly payments directly from my employer and direct deposit. If it's 4 weeks in a month round $120, 5 weeks round $100. After reading reviews I felt lucky that everything went well for the first year. Then recently Westlake decided to deduct 364.40 from one week's pay check and it begins, lie, deception, more lies. They treat individuals in our situation (low credit scores) like crap, bottom line.
I don't work for any other finance company or have I ever shared my opinion about a company's service. From low level customer service reps, to managers, to supervisors I must've spoken to 6 Westlake employees and got 6 different reasons why my funds were withdrawn by $250. This started on a Monday, by Thursday I went to the Corporate office for answers because that's the only way you'll be able to speak face to face and call **. Keep in mind over a year each week the amounts listed above have been deducted. That should be a red flag and looked into, I got nothing over the phone and told to leave by head of security at Corporate after being told someone will help you. They did give me another 800# and was in contact with an accounts supervisor. With it being Friday this supervisor was extremely apologetic and agreed it was our accounting dept and promised to get those funds back into my bank account.
I gave her account info, laid down and took a nap. Soon as I woke up checked my account and had NOTHING!!! The so-called supervisor. This company is shady, do your research! If you can find other options use them because in the end Westlake financial will cheat you. Go over all payments made if you're already with them, run if you're not. This happen over a week ago and $364.40 is still in Westlakes pocket leaving me paying late on some important bills, and being charged late fees. Shame on you Westlake Financial, now it's my duty to expose your shady business practices, lies, and greed.

I tried to get the car dealer to take the car back and they wouldn't. Not only did it overheat and have major steering issues (worn shocks, bad axles and hub, etc), it needed brakes and all kinds of repairs that had me distressed for months.
Over the past six months however I have had no issues, so I guess I paid for everything to get fixed. On Sunday, June 27 there was a guy in our yard with my vehicle hooked up for repossession. Besides being panicked stricken I summoned my husband. According to Westlake, we had missed payments and it was up for repossession. After them taking the vehicle, I had to wait until Monday to speak with someone. Of course they cannot do this during business hours. I had my statements proving I was current. Westlake had added a extended payment due at the end of the loan and made our past due according to them. I argued this was not right as the amount added was nowhere close to my regular payment. Our payment was 389 but the amount added was 268. They also added three months of late fees. I was told this extension was just to get me caught up and it was not to applied to the end of the loan. So why did they take my 50.00 then?
I was then told by a representative that he was taking too long with me and I had to talk to a supervisor because "I do not understand statements". So after being told they are never wrong, I had to come up with over 1300 that day. Still the math was wrong for the added amount. So then I pull my credit report dated today. Wow, to my surprise my loan is CURRENT and the only late was a 30 day 1 year ago. Because we never received a default claimer giving us to a certain date to bring the account current, we have the statements showing the payments and I have the statement showing extra money added with no explanation, I have actually spoke with an attorney who was eager to take this case and go after Westlake. The car was repossessed on Friday morning. We contacted Westlake Financial to see what it would take to payoff the car, the representative had to call the towing company to find out what they would be charging for the repossession and then came back with a total of $695.87 + $400.00 towing. The total payoff with fees for repossession was $1,157.87, so as instructed by the customer service representative we went to Wal-Mart and sent an immediate cash MoneyGram for the total amount due at 10:15 am. The transaction was confirmed within 10 minutes.
My daughter called Westlake with the tracking number and was told they had received the MoneyGram but it would take up to 24 to 48 business hours for them to release the vehicle. It is Monday morning at 10:41 am and they have still not released her vehicle they have not owned since Friday morning. I hadn't got disability benefits yet so my income had changed and I made partial payments but always had it paid in full before the next payment was due and after getting out of the hospital a few days later could not make a payment because I didn't have a payment slip and the car was taken for $106.00 and they refused to tell me where it was taken for over a week and when they did I had to pay the repo company $35.00 to get my stuff when they should've given me my things when they picked the vehicle up at my home from the driveway around 3 pm.
Afterwards, everything went to hell with Westlake, they stopped calling up til a week later when I was told by a Christopher ** that if I would pay just my arrearages which was $106.00 and $284.64 he would put the repossession cost at the back of my loan and release the vehicle in 24-48 hours, I just had to send a copy of my payment letter from disability, a utility bill, and three references. I did as he requested and in good faith wired $500.00 and faxed over the information. When I called back to confirm no one knew of the arrangement and would not release my vehicle, customer service was nasty - hung the phone up me twice even though I was calm and respectful.
Everything I told you was recorded in their system that I told you except the amounts, now three days later they want me to give them $1094, that would be a total of $1594 I would have paid them, which I will not because as I have read other complaints this company has a profound history of taking your money and not giving your car back. Now at this point, I just want out of this relationship with these thieves. If you don't want problems don't deal with Westlake Financial services, they are a predatory lender.

I purchased a 2005 BMW 5 series and the financing was done through Westlake for $15,000 at payments of $499 for 36 months in June of 2012. I had my share of ups and downs financially which resulted in payments falling behind. I got a credit extension which placed the missed payments on the back of the loan, but little did I know that when the final regular payment was made in August 2015 the credit extensions that I took would be due in full. Fast forward to January 2016 Westlake repossessed my car for a principal balance of $998, yes $998 ** dollars. Unfortunately for me it happened at a time when we had a massive snow storm and I was unable to get to work. My car was sold in a auction, you would think that would be the end of it. So I called Westlake to see what my car sold for since the book value was $4,900 with the mileage of 190,000 in good condition.
The account rep from Westlake told me that my car did sell and that my balance was paid and no additional proceeds came from that sale. BS, that was February, in April I receive a certified letter from Westlake. I figured this the letter to confirm what my account rep stated 2 months ago. To my surprise it was a letter telling me that my car had sold for $3,501.12. You would think this was great news but after principal balance, repo fee, and some unexplained misc fees, my net payment from the sale was $1,431.12 out of $3,501.12. Here's the insult to losing my car for $998.00, according to the certified letter my payment was to be received within 30 days of April 20, 2016. Upon investigation my car sold March 02, 2016, and for a company that would repossess your vehicle if you are past 30 days.
My refund from the sale of my car is now more than 60 days late. Show me the money Westlake! Shame on you for stealing and lying. It doesn't take 60 days for a manager to sign off on check. I made more than 5 calls transferring me to a manager who could not understand why it has not been signed off. Ridiculously unprofessional company. Stay far away from them.

Pulled in to the closest place, happen to be a repair shop. Mechanic heard the noise said the engine blow a rod probably. More likely gonna cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 grand to fix. Well when I was trying to make arrangements to find a reputable diesel repair shop Westlake repossessed my on 4/9/16 saying I abandoned it. Sent me a letter stating they were going to auction my truck off on 5/9/16 if I didn't come up with 1100 bucks plus towing and storage add in repairs. I could be looking at double what I paid for the truck. Oh I made my first payment on 4/4/16 and my second payment isn't due until 5/5/16 so don't do business with these lying, thieving, cheats. I purchased a used 2004 Lexus RX330 (beautiful) October 2015. The 2nd day, I received a total of 3 calls confirming the purchase I just made, which seemed a little extreme but proficient. One of the repeated questions was how would I make payment? I advised them, that we'd use bill payment through our bank. They mentioned that that would not suffice as a viable payment method. From that, they mentioned that I can make payment online for $5 per payment, visit a local 7-11 to make payments for another small transaction fee. So I asked, "how can I make a direct payment for no fees?" They stated to mail a check some 3-5 days before the due date. From that point, I knew our interaction with Westlake (3+ years) would be brash.
Needless to say, the vehicle was wrecked and deemed totalled. Our car insurance provided received the payoff amount and paid the total amount within the allotted time frame. Westlake Financial has since added several other fees that our insurance nor I was not aware of. I've asked Westlake Financial for paperwork to show where and why the amount came from and I've yet to receive confirmation in writing!!! I'm highly upset as Westlake still has a hold on my credit due to this unknown amount on my account. I refuse to do any further business with this company and I'd suggest to my friends and family to follow suit. The resolution of this issue is STILL pending.

I called to make a payment and I was sent to 4 different people. And finally the woman told me that she couldn't take my payment, that Westlake Financial is under investigation by the state of Mass and they couldn't accept any money from me but I could pay with western union payments if wanted to.
Also she said that there would be no charges, no repossession for non payment. They have never explained to me why my payments have not gone down. Also they repo'd my car once last year in October and when they did they ruined the whole front end which cost me $500 to fix which made me late for my next month payment, and when I told them they said nothing. Why is my 2400 loan not under a $1000 after a year? I'm pissed. I haven't got any letters yet from them explaining anything.

We had too many problems with the car and we decided to sell it after we spend $3500 for the maintenance. We trade the car in for $5000 to a dealer and get a lease. We purchased the car in January 16 and paid off the car in April 8th, 2016. We actually use the waiver for 3 months with no claims at all. I got a suv from Westlake Financial. The car was 6 grand almost 7 and I put almost 2 grand down on this car. I got this suv around June of 2011. Now in 2016 I thought I was coming up to be my last payment. And they said "no you still owe 4,989". I'm like what. Almost 5 grand. That's about what I started with. How in almost 4 years and 4 months I still owe this. They said a balloon payment. I said no one said anything about a Balloon payment. I started crying saying "I don't have that kind of money". How is it 2011 car was 6 grand almost 7. I paid 290 dollars a month for 4.4 years and I owe almost the same amount. I called them and talked to them. They said I would have to rewrite the contract again for another 4 years for what to pay the same and have the same amount at the end of the contract. I started crying and asked where my car was at so I could get my belongings.
So I called the repo company to get my stuff. They refuse to give me the stereo dvd player that's in that car that I still owe money on. I have the original one that goes back into the car. The one that didn't work when I got the car. The repo company ruined all my stuff that was in the car. They threw all my stuff and my electronics into a garbage bag. They even took all the ashtrays and the garbage bags that were in the car and threw it in with all my stuff. My Ipod, my docking station to charge 3 phones. My gps. And more. I had a ashtray for the people in back of the car to ash in. They threw that in the bag with muddy ashes and butts in the bag. The soda cans that was half drank in the car they threw them into the bag too without dumping the excess soda out. They yanked the cords out of my docking station and amp and speakers. Yanked so hard they took the cigarette lighter with it that belongs in the car.
You should see what they did. The amp they ruined it. They pulled the cords so hard broke out inside the amp itself. And refuse to return the dvd player. So now westlake has 15 grand in payments with 2 grand down and the car now and the really nice 500 dollar stereo. Brand new tires all around. Now they get to make even more money off me when they sell the car. Isn't that nice. WESTLAKE IS A SCAM. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. STAY FAR AWAY.

(did he/she pay and are up to date and otherwise have good loan repayment history?) can take up to 48 business hours! That is unacceptable. It is without faith and ethics towards your customers. If someone pays $1000 in full for the behind amount with the tow fees, they should be able to go get their vehicle. That simple. Waiting a full 4.5 days to be able to even pick it up? Unacceptable.
