This first-time home-buying experience was horrible. We were approved based on a credit reports run 3 months prior. Went through the tedious process of shopping for a home, and after we finally find one and go under contract, the agent, Kait ** didn't tell us she had to run our credit again, and as we are getting ready to sign paperwork she sent us, she then informs us that something had changed on one of our credit reports that disqualified us. We did not appreciate that the agent knew this was our first time going through this process yet failed to inform us of all the processes involved. The agent, Kait **, was impersonal, was hard to get in touch with, did nothing to help us to ease the process, and threw us away like an old pair of socks once we were disqualified. Veterans United, you should do better by your veterans than this. Totally unacceptable and we will not be back!!!

Shane is the reason I was able to move forward with buying a home and actually feel confident throughout the process. From the start, he made sure I understood everything and always made me feel like I was in good hands with a knowledgeable and supportive team. At one point, I decided to pause and wait about a year before moving forward. Even then, Shane stayed in touch, answered all my questions, and checked in regularly just to see if I needed anything. That level of consistency and support really stood out. When I was ready again, he connected me with a fantastic agent and helped make the entire process smooth. Pro- Good Service, good app. I really liked my primary point of contact who was very knowledgeable. Con- Do not accept the first rate they offer you. Shop around and have them match the better/lower rate. They offered me 0.7 over what I negotiated down to. Also, some of the support staff know their specific part of the process, but are not knowledgeable on the whole process. Seek expert advice on things like insurance.

Veterans United's customer service is streamlined so well that despite starting the homebuying process as a full time student/worker- their support/network of realtors guided me through every step, helping me become a homeowner within a single semester. If you take a loan and forever just make payments you will maybe be ok, BUT.... If you attempt to make early principal payments or cancel escrow payments when your act becomes qualified, they will do everything possible to stop or delay or misapply payments in a way to maximize their income (your cost). I do not know how other third party VA loan managers operate but I very much feel like these guys deliberately stick it to me whenever possible; check alternative companies.

It went very well. They kept in contact throughout the whole process and answered all questions thrown at them. They ensured my family and I were always well informed and taken care of. The team worked very well together to make sure everything was taken care of as quick as it did. We found and signed for our home in a month and a half due to their hard work.

I had a choice of companies to service my VA Refi need. ChatGPT suggested Navy Federal for perhaps a better rate and Veterans United for better customer service. I explored both options for a bit but quickly ran into obstacles with NF, including slow response to emails, getting a different person on the phone each time I called, requiring I open a NF bank account before they even talked to me, and a general sense of confusion (they explained by saying they were so popular that they were inundated with clients.).

Billy has been great through my original home loan and refinancing process. He is always professional and informative. The entire process of buying a home and getting everything coordinated was made much easier through Veterans United.

They were amazing every step of the way. Very caring, very helpful, and most of all they answered any and all questions I had along the way. (And I ask a lot of questions). They even remembered I have a dog and sent a gift box of dog toys and treats as a congratulations upon closing on my home.

Veterans United will go out of their way to help you get a home you can afford. I had to find a place for me and my kids (2 dogs and a cat) after my wife of 36 years passed away, and I cannot take of the place we were living. They care for the Veterans and will help them find a home.

Brandon was Great and went the extra mile to get things done. They were readily available when I wanted to talk to them or needed something. Brandon was very polite, professional and considerate. I believe he enjoys his job helping veterans and it shows.

Everything was fine until they changed who serviced our loan. This happened the 1st week of this year. Once it was done, our entire payment history, escrow and tax records disappeared. They reported to all 3 credit bureaus that our account was closed. Now it shows no home loan on our credit report, but our loan history length was seriously degraded with it being a closed account. My current web page has no history prior to January 5th of this year. Asked them over the phone to update our credit reports and was told I needed to put it in writing and send it to their credit dispute office. Luckily we only have 3 years left with these idiots. I would refinance but currently at 2.5% makes that impossible. I strongly suggest you do not do any business with this company.

Do not trust these people, they’re like the guys at dealerships trying to sell you on a high-interest-rate loan the moment they find out you are a vet. Was working with them for a while until I started noticing the loan team’s monthly estimates were $1000 higher than what I would see doing the math. Issue was that they do not say what they’re going to give you as an interest rate. Maybe I was incorrect with math, but checking other loan companies, their estimates were much closer to the math I did.

Knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. The team was on top of things, consistent with communication and the follow-up was pretty top-notch. There was never a time it felt like you would not see the end goal of purchasing a home with the professionalism they displayed.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for an easier loan process. Everything was done online, and uploading the requested documents was simple and straightforward. It made the whole experience stress-free from start to finish. Ben, Lisa, and Jonathan were all incredibly helpful, quick to respond, and always happy to answer our questions. Appraiser was late and set us back a bit, small potatoes.

After documenting escrow requirements, and discussing amount to be included in monthly payment, it was determined that escrow to be $450/month. Not to be, as Veterans United is now escrowing $1000/month! Promises to review never happened, so disappointing.

One of the main reasons is you may or may not be kept in the loop so you have to be patient while you are waiting for a process that you have little control of which can make you feel anxious at times. Amazingly this was not the case with Veterans United specifically Lily ** and her team. She kept us in the loop every step of the way. She let us know what to expect and at the close of the day she would always send an update which was always positive. This made you feel good especially if you're not sure about what is happening behind the scenes. In addition Veterans United has a very informative website with videos that tells you about the process and what to work on or expect during the next step.
