Very easy to go through the home buying experience for the first time with Veterans United. From the lender to the realtor everything was handled perfectly and any questions were always answered. Many still cringe when they hear VA loan, but Bryant and Codi were so personable and helpful. They were on top of everything, very responsive and respectful, both by email and phone. Incredible: the best word to describe Jeremy and his team. My house hunting journey was a long four months. Lost so many homes trying to use a family friend realtor. But, Jeremy was supportive and responsive even after work hours to keep me moving forward. Everything was great. From start to finish Torri and the team had my back, ensured I was setup and good to go, and took so much stress off of me. I'm a veteran and I went to Veterans United Home Loan for a Townhouse I was looking to purchase with my son. I had to do a conventional loan because they told me I could not use my VA benefits when purchasing a home with any but a spouse. Because I was purchasing with my son I could not use VA benefits. So this was my first conventional loan. VUHL had a program to give a separate Downpayment loan. I was asked to put down $5000 and was told this money would go to the Downpayment. In the end the title company used my money for the closing costs even though I had a deal where the seller was covering closing costs.

The only reason the rating is lower is because of O'Neil our real estate agent. The rest of our staff Brandon, Doug and Desi were outstanding to work with during our home buying process. O'Neil was strong at the beginning of the process, particularly when it came to scheduling showings, building rapport with the sellers, and understanding our needs as buyers. However, several important details were not effectively communicated to the sellers or properly reflected in the contract documentation.

Outstanding experience with the whole process. Joel and his team were amazing to work with, they eased my mind when I had worries, reassured my doubts and were completely open and honest every step of the way. I would highly recommend this team to any of my fellow veterans. Extremely thankful to have worked with Joel, Lindsey and the whole Veterans United group. First we were strangers, but closed as family. Thank you for making a dream come true.

As a Gold Star wife it was an emotional time purchasing a new home without my husband and I was hoping it wouldn't be too overwhelming. Waited over 30 days for a refund check from overpayment of taxes that was supposed to be mailed and never was received. Called. Was told to send a direct deposit slip in. Did that, called to make sure it was received, it was. Everything was all set. A week later I get a call that the form wasn't good enough. Email a voided check from the same account as the direct deposit. The "Escalation Team" should all be Fired. Useless.

When I started the process to buy my home I was nervous! I was especially nervous about financing. Scott was the first person I talked to. First thing he said was, "You can do this!" Everything on Veterans United's end was spectacular. Scott kept in constant contact with me. When he wasn't available his supervisor Mason stepped in. When things got rocky with my city's point of sale inspection they never abandoned me. Scott listened to me vent and always reminded me that it would work out. I would have done this a long time ago if I knew this team was there. My situation was different since I was coming from a lease to own, but they took that in stride and now we have our home. I can't say enough great things about Scott and Mason and all the people I worked with at Veterans United.

Mine was a different story. I chose to do all the foot work on the loan. Little did I know there would be so much to do to get to the closing date. It was a lot of work. but everything turned out fine. One thing I can say is we all become educated on a lot of paperwork and who needs what. And I think this will help in the future as far as a learning curve.

I was lost. I got so many different stories from different mortgage companies. Then one of my brothers suggested Veterans United. I immediately found the site and signed up.

I am a real estate agent. I had a buyer come to me preapproved by Kurt Rinehart with Veterans United. I had such a wonderful experience working with him. No two transactions are ever the same, but the one thing that is always consistent is that communication in a timely manner is key to closing. Kurt went above and beyond to be available even after the office closed for the day. We had to get a little creative at the last minute because the buyer had to be offshore. Kurt brainstormed and found a solution so we could still close on time. I would highly recommend Kurt to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and responsive lender who will work hard on your behalf.

I would say that I would probably recommend Veterans United as a whole but not specifically the loan officers that were over my loan. Working with the loan officer was by far the worst experience I've ever had on a professional level. Poor communication, lack of accountability and at times just downright disrespectful. I wouldn't recommend her working on anyone's loan. They're supposed to be helping Veterans make important life decisions in obtaining a home for their family and honestly acted like they're being forced to do so. On another note our real estate agent, Sharon, was absolutely amazing!! If it hadn't been for her we wouldn't have even closed on time. She was always very positive and helpful and went above and beyond to help me understand and obtain my home. I'm sure there are far better people working for Veterans United and as a whole the company does great things.

This first-time home-buying experience was horrible. We were approved based on a credit reports run 3 months prior. Went through the tedious process of shopping for a home, and after we finally find one and go under contract, the agent, Kait ** didn't tell us she had to run our credit again, and as we are getting ready to sign paperwork she sent us, she then informs us that something had changed on one of our credit reports that disqualified us. We did not appreciate that the agent knew this was our first time going through this process yet failed to inform us of all the processes involved. The agent, Kait **, was impersonal, was hard to get in touch with, did nothing to help us to ease the process, and threw us away like an old pair of socks once we were disqualified. Veterans United, you should do better by your veterans than this. Totally unacceptable and we will not be back!!!

Shane is the reason I was able to move forward with buying a home and actually feel confident throughout the process. From the start, he made sure I understood everything and always made me feel like I was in good hands with a knowledgeable and supportive team. Pro- Good Service, good app. I really liked my primary point of contact who was very knowledgeable. Con- Do not accept the first rate they offer you. Shop around and have them match the better/lower rate. They offered me 0.7 over what I negotiated down to. Also, some of the support staff know their specific part of the process, but are not knowledgeable on the whole process. Seek expert advice on things like insurance.
