The process at Vanderbilt Mortgage just took two weeks and it was very simple. Their transparency during the lending process seemed pretty good to me as well. It was also easy to communicate with their team. I just called and talked to somebody and had my question answered right then and there.

The loan process at Vanderbilt was so fast and didn't take long and that surprised me. Closing a loan with them was not hard at all and they didn't make me jump through hoops to get this. It's not like when I'm going for a car loan or some other type of loan with a bank where they try to candy-coat it. The Vanderbilt reps told me everything straight upfront, how it was gonna work and what was gonna happen. They were very transparent. It was the way it was and exactly everything they told me.

I'm thoroughly satisfied and they made it so gratifying for me. I went through a remodel of the grocery store where I work at and it's been so hectic with us on our job that I haven't had the chance to stop and look at anything. But, they made the process of the loan so simple and easy that I didn't have any time to focus on that. I've never heard of Vanderbilt before until I was going to purchase my mobile home but they made the process so good that I'd recommend them to somebody else if they ever look for a loan. My daughter and I both went through Vanderbilt and it was so great that she was satisfied with them, too.

The Vanderbilt Mortgage reps were fast in doing everything and communicating with them during the loan process was easy. Sometimes though, I would dial an extension number and it would send me to a different person. But they were nice and they answered any question I had and reached back to me within 30 minutes. The transparency of Vanderbilt’s lending process was really good as well.

The application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt happened fast and was done within a week. We were plugging our paperwork in where it would have been quicker. I’m very happy with the process and the reps were very well-educated about it. Sometimes, I don’t understand things when people try to explain them to me and they took their time and process with me. They were amazing and I felt very comfortable with them. It was great conducting business with Vanderbilt.

At first working with Vanderbilt was ok. The underwriting process went as expected, but as we got to the closing stage that's where everything went south. We were supposed to close on the 65th of the month, but that was pushed back 5 days. Then by the new closing date we had not heard a peep from them. We have been waiting to sign the disclosure statement for over a week now and cannot get a hold of anyone at the company, all we get is the voicemail. Now we are about to be homeless because our lease ran out at our current home and we have yet to hear back from Vanderbilt. I would not recommend Vanderbilt because of the complete lack of professionalism and communication by their reps. Horrific experience.

Vanderbilt was phenomenal. They went beyond what they should have had to do. The people in Louisiana were telling us that we couldn’t miss the closing. We're still in Florida, and had to go to Louisiana. I couldn’t travel. I was sick. I got poisoned with some medication and I really thought I was gonna die. When I called Vanderbilt I said I couldn’t go and the rep said not worry about it and that she would do some work and call me back. She called me back in 30 minutes and had a place here in Florida that was willing to come to my home and do the closing. You don’t get any better than that.

Vanderbilt did everything they could to accommodate us with the closing in Florida instead of being sick and having to go to Louisiana. Vanderbilt was the best. The rep was also very clear. She went over everything. She sent the paperwork and then when I got it she told me to call her. I called her, and we went over it again. I couldn’t believe how professional they were and how they did everything they could to make sure that it was smooth process for us. I would definitely recommend them.

The Vanderbilt Mortgage reps followed up well and it just took a couple of days from the time that I started to the time I was approved. I was dealing with two different people in the beginning, then I had one who worked out fine in welcoming me in. Corey and Kyle were open to helping me in any way that I was asking. There were failed missed calls because they would not call me back a couple of times but eventually, I got a hold of them. And when I had a question or concern, they got back to me within the same day. Vanderbilt’s lending process was open and straightforward and it all went well.

Vanderbilt Mortgage started out in December of last year, but we had some land issues we had to take care of. They had a certain amount of days that they had to use in the first loan and we ran into that. We had to do it over. Everything went well because of what the circumstances were and they kept in contact with us. They let us know what they were doing and what they didn't have, and we worked as a team to get the job done. Megan called me at least once or twice a week. She was the first one that ever called me and we stayed in contact until the whole thing was complete. They were on top of the loan and they were really anxious to help. Whoever called, even if it wasn't Megan, would ask if there was anything they could do for me or if there was anything they could do to make things go smoothly.

I worked with Vanderbilt on a loan and it was much easier than I thought it would be. They stayed in contact with me to let me know of anything that I needed to turn in. There were about three different girls that I worked with for the most part and they were good. I worked about the same hours they did, and they would email me and I could look at that whenever and get back with them. Anytime I had concerns, I would usually email with questions and they would either call me or email me their responses back. They usually returned my calls quickly as well.

But Vanderbilt was right on top of it and made sure that we had all the information. The application and underwriting process with them didn’t take so long. They approved right off the bat and then my wife and I changed our mind on the house. We started out with a small house and went through a bigger house and they immediately told us how things would change when the loan price went up and they kept us up to date with everything. They had done a good job.

Application and underwriting at Vanderbilt was the quickest process. My loan went through smoothly. I really praise the guy who did my closing. He was a really nice guy. However, I went there and they had my fiancee's name on my closing, so he had to go back and print 80 to 90 more pages. He went ahead and did it quickly.

Once they had me committed on the loan, they had me hooked in.However, when they brought my house out, that was the worst process. They wouldn't work on getting me moved in quickly. They would say that they had to get the inspector or I had to go through this and that. I have had my septic tank inspection plus my water and lights hooked up. I have everything ready and processed and I was just waiting on them. Still, they really got my lending process pushed through quicker than I thought it was gonna go through.

We started the application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt at the beginning of the year and didn’t sign the closing until a month ago. They wanted the 2016 and 2017 income tax, our personal and business. Our accountant passed away about eight months earlier and we had to get another accountant. We were in the process of getting our records from the other place and it took a while to do that. I explained when we first started the application that it was gonna be awhile before we have 2017 because our year doesn’t end until the 31st of March. They said they would settle with 2015 and 2016.

When we finally got all our records from the other place and I told our new accountant what we were doing and I needed a copy of our 2016, she said our old accountant started our 2016 but he never finished. So finally, I got that and then by the time I got that, our year had ended. They told me they would need 2017 also so I had to go back to the accountant and push her for that. We finally got everything squared away. Everybody's got their rules and they gotta go behind everything, so that's just what the holdup was. Cora, the rep, was nice and considerate every time she would call me. Both she and I did all that we could do with the kind of situation we had with our problem. We're happy with everything and I would recommend them.

It was very easy communicating with them. They would also tell me what I needed and what I lacked. Also, if they weren’t able to answer my questions, they would transfer me to the person who was over my loan and they would tell me the answers.

At first, I worked with Amalia and when she was done with her section of the loan, it went to Laura who was with the budget. She has done basically the package for the loan. But the majority of the time, I spoke with Britney. She was always very nice and there was never any kind of irritation that came through her voice. She remained calm and handled things quite well. In the future, Vanderbilt should stick with one loan specialist. It would've been good to get the facts straight from one main person.

The application and underwriting took about a month. We had to go back a few different times to try out a couple of different trailers until we finally found the financial options that we could afford but after that, things went smoothly. The house process as far as any loan information needed and the application were easy. What I’ve done so far has not been complicated. I filled out the application and down payment and credit were ready. I signed on the dotted line afterwards. The application itself didn’t take 15 minutes. I had on hand all the documents that they needed, so it was pretty easy to get those together within a week. The closing was fine, simple and explained. So I haven’t had any difficulties.

Scheduling wise, they initially wanted me to close and meet with a lady in Greenville. However, something came up with work and they were able to get it rescheduled and have a neutral location that I didn’t have to drive so far to. They also made sure that I have the contact numbers that I needed and typically would return a phone call if not same day, within a three to four day time period if I had any questions. I talked to Stacey the most on the phone, but another lady was assigned to my loan and I only talked to her once. Stacey knew what she was talking about and how to explain it in layman’s term so if I had any concerns or questions, she broke it down and made things a little bit easier to deal with.

Vanderbilt helped me tremendously. The application and underwriting process with them took about two months and overall, we had a wonderful experience. I love their transparency during the lending process because I am a very anxious and inquisitive person. They answered my calls in a very timely manner and answered any questions that I had. And if they didn’t know, they would get right back to me in a very timely manner. They were also very upfront and honest about what I needed in terms of paperwork and payment. And communication with them was easy. There were a few days where they were a little busier, but they typically got back to us within that day or a business day.

The biggest thing about Vanderbilt Mortgage is they had more flexibility and payment options. From the time we started the process to the time we closed, it took about two weeks. We did a lot of email swaps and I called them four or five times just for information and got everything I needed. Anytime I needed them, I called them and they were there. I worked with several representatives, whoever answered the phone that day, and they were always quick to do what was needed to be done.

We closed the process with Vanderbilt Mortgage on June 19th and now, they just moved us in. They're the worst ever. When we signed the loan, Vanderbilt Mortgage and the loan officer didn't give us a date and they verbally said we would be in our new home in two weeks. It was not like we went out and had to have it made. It was sitting on the lot for over a year. My father is sick and we bought this so he can live on a property after my home was built. But Vanderbilt did nothing to accommodate us. I asked for some hotel money and they said it was not a big deal.

I bought that trailer on June 19th and our date for the rental was up on July 31st. I had to get a lawyer and buy more time. I was also on the news because I was evicted and we had nowhere to go. They didn't even ask what they could do to help us out. They moved the payment back to October because they haven't received the funds before that since the trailer wasn't delivered. They've cost us over $25,000 of our own money. We were very treated badly and nobody cared. My whole summer was ruined. They have really humiliated me and they have put me in a position that I've never been in my life. They even told me that they were gonna cancel the loan but they dropped the thing off because I started complaining.

I've filed complaints with them and I've turned them in to the Attorney General. Vanderbilt never returned my calls and any of the complaints. And now, various things are falling apart. We shouldn't even be in the house because it wasn't ready yet, but we're in it because Vanderbilt said they worked their best and had done everything to please us. But they're disregarding everything that they did and acted like this never happened. I would never recommend Vanderbilt Mortgage.

Vanderbilt Mortgage has done everything that was necessary to speed up the lending process. It took almost three weeks for everything to go through. They even took care of lining up everything, even the permits. Everything just went slick as a ribbon. Shannon was the girl I dealt with all the time. I couldn’t find a nicer, friendlier, and knowledgeable person. She’s the one I would ask for. She knew what she was talking about. She did most of the lending process and she set it down that same day. I paid $1,000 down because that was the one on the lot that had all the furniture. I got everything like it said. And before I left Shannon that day, I knew approximately how much I was gonna owe them up. She told me what to expect and then she called me a couple of days at a time and tell me to come back in. She let me sign the papers and told me to give the papers to the loaner.

The loaner called her and asked for something. She then called me and I took it down and she made copies and faxed it to the people that were loaning the money. The only thing I didn’t like about the loan company was one of them asked for my bank statement and then about a week later, they called and they wanted my last year’s taxes. They should have known exactly what they wanted and they should’ve have called Shannon and said they wanted a copy of my bank statement and a copy of last year’s taxes. That would’ve solved me running on the road out twice.

Overall, everything was good with the process. I also worked with Skeeter. He was the one that organized everything from the time I signed the papers. He did all the running and setting up the dates. He was on top of everything. The quality of the home is like a mosque where its finish is sheet-rock inside. You couldn’t get any better than that. I know they had a few cheaper models, but you get what you paid for. Vanderbilt is the best.

We tried a year ago to get a home loan mortgage and it was before I had my two years in with my union hall. The loan company that I dealt with said that it was not a problem. We were 72 hours away from closing when they called saying that they couldn't verify my income so they were backing out. I also tried to go to my personal bank and they said that unless I was putting it on a foundation or I give them 20% down, I should forget about it and it was not going to happen. They also said that they were not using my land as a down-payment on closing cost so it ticked me off a little bit because I’ve dealt with my bank for the last 16 years.

I was a little on the nervous side when I started dealing with Vanderbilt but I had a great interaction with my loan specialist. The first guy I dealt with was brutally honest but wasn't rude, and I appreciated it. I would rather have someone be upfront with me about how I can get this to work than saying they would find a way and make it work but then would not make it happen because of something they should have told me upfront. Vanderbilt specializes in a certain home manufacturing company mortgages and they said that I could use my land as a down payment and towards my closing cost. They were recommending it so it was less out of pocket for me.

We started with them at the beginning of August and we closed December the 1st. It took a little longer than usual because I was a union worker, and they wanted me to work at the same job from start to finish and that was almost impossible in my field. Everything was good to go and they wanted to do a verbal verification of employment with my employer. But I got laid off the day before and went to a new job the following day so they wanted to rerun pay stubs for 30 days.

Finally, somebody talked to the right person and they understood that I was a union worker and they knew that I wasn’t gonna be at the same job for the rest of my life. I had to send them every pay stub for the last two years since I’ve joined the union so they could match my W2 with my pay stubs that I worked for many different companies. They did what most other places would do and did my W2s, my tax returns, pay stubs, and everything into account. Vanderbilt made everything as quick and painless as possible than I ever thought it would be and if someone was out looking for a mortgage loan, I would try and get them to go and deal with Vanderbilt because they were by far one of the best people bank-wise that I’ve ever talked to and dealt with.

I had one lady called me from Tennessee and she was telling me when my monthly payment will be due and the different options we could use to pay the mortgage. She also answered the questions that I had. However, the age is right on the laws that I just thought it was kind of high for I was thinking to wire it, especially when after I bought this home, I saw a commercial out of a place in Brookhaven where the home was almost $15,000 cheaper. I gave her my old home and bought a brand new one for myself, but I wish I hadn't done that. Vanderbilt Mortgage told us that would be in the house at least a month before we would ever see a payment, but it had been going on for about three months and there was still no purchase and no way to get in it. The rep I worked with has done everything out of her willpower to make sure that the loan went through. They required two years and I worked pipeline, so it was hard getting two straight years out of my business. So, she went back to where she found two years and made it work so we could get the loan. In addition, my job before messed a bit. They said I didn't work for them when I did. We were also talking back and forth, and we talked in every other day trying to figure this stuff so she could help us get approved for the loan. She’s very understanding, and all over around, a good person.

The transparency was good, too. A lot of people I know buy homes and it takes months and months to process. I know people that are still waiting on to even get their home financed just because of all the paperwork, but ours was done in no time. Since we got our money and then she got the dates, we were signing papers. It was very quick and I was approved in about a month. Vanderbilt worked with us. My partner and I both work and it’s hard to get on the same page. I work out of town all the time and she works back home and she couldn't answer the phone because her job is important and it would take her attention 24/7 and my job does the same with me. Go with Vanderbilt Mortgage. We originally had a loan for a single-wide that we went through the loan process. And on the day the home was delivered, we were informed that we could not put a single-wide in the location that we had chosen and we didn't know about that. So, we put Vanderbilt in a position where they had to redo the whole thing. They had to turn around and take it back. Vanderbilt renegotiated because we bought a double-wide, which is permitted, and we went through the whole process again and we got our loan for the double-wide. So, the process took twice as long as it normally would, but it went really smooth on both times. The reps we dealt with were very professional and the lending process upfront. Dealing with Vanderbilt Mortgage was very easy.

The people at Vanderbilt told me what I needed to do and the process took about three weeks. But I had to postpone the closing of the house because for some reason, they sent the wrong email. They didn't even send the one that was in the system. They sent a totally different one. They should make sure that they're sending the right things.

They also have to figure out how somebody without a bank account can send them money. When I wired the money, my money was just floating around in the air for several days before they told me they hadn't received it since they don't connect to Walmart. I went through my bank and got a check, and when the lady came to have me sign all the paperwork, I gave all the money upfront. It was nothing major but it was a scary situation for a short time. And on June 8th, they had everything ready to sign the papers.

It was quick and easy. It’s not something that an individual would go through everyday and they gave pertinent information out that was needed. It took me three weeks to a month to go through Vanderbilt's application and underwriting process since I was very busy. I had two jobs at that time and it took me an extra week to get all the paperwork together because of my job schedule but they were more than flexible in waiting on that. When you fill out the information for the house, we had to fill out multiple documents that were the same things, like the confirmation for our jobs. We had to wait the longest because I had to put in more paycheck stubs to show to two different people. It would be better for them and the client if they do it all at once because it’s just one straight shot. But everything else with the process was very fast.

Whenever the person who left me a message couldn’t answer, there were other persons I could talk to. I would call and they knew what was going on. No one took a message from me because they knew what was happening and they would explain to me what I needed to know. So, I liked that and communicating with Vanderbilt was very easy. Also, everything was good and very smooth with my loan specialist. I asked a lot of questions and they answered all of the questions that I had. The lending process was very clear and when I asked them to dig into specific areas, they explained it nicely. But for a first-time buyer, picking the mortgage company was a little confusing because they have other ones that work with mobile homes lot. I picked Vanderbilt and everything went well, but the whole process was unknown to me so they should give more information or brochures.

Vanderbilt's loan process was easy and the process took two weeks, which was super quick. They also tried to get the percentage and payment right where I was okay with. The only thing that I have an issue with was, Vanderbilt told me that the downpayment would be a certain amount but my calculations added differently than theirs. So I sent an email and asked and they told me that it was right. I then had to get a cashier's check for that amount and I took it to them. However, when I got there, it was actually an overpayment.

I talked to them about it and they told me that they talked to their general manager and that they issued a check. I then talked to the general manager but she didn't know anything about it. She also told me that she would figure it out. I still haven't received the amount that I paid over on the downpayment and nobody has contacted me back about it yet. But when I talked to a bunch of different people on the phone, they were all nice. If I was at work and I couldn't answer the phone, I could call them back or they could call me back if I answered and said I couldn’t talk.

I was Johnny-on-the-spot with everything I needed so they just took it and ran. The people who I worked with at Vanderbilt were very sweet and kind. This was my first home-buying experience and I didn’t know a lot of what to ask. So as the questions would come up in my brain, I would call and they would answer it. I also had a few problems with their website when I couldn't figure out how to do an auto-draft so I made my first payment on the phone and then set up my auto-draft. And except for one little question I have about the discrepancy in the amount where I thought the loan was 92 and it ended up 96, Vanderbilt was great. I've been satisfied with them up to this point.

The process was good and so were the people there. When I've had to make changes and wanna add something, they were accommodating in making those changes for me. Everybody would call every step of the way, introduce themselves and give me their phone numbers. They return phone calls within that day, and if not, then they would call the next morning.

At the time, the loan specialist went over all my payments in detail and made sure that I understood everything about the loan process. I was also impressed with how quick their turnaround process was. Furthermore, their transparency good and their lending process was on their website and everything was updated. The application and underwriting process took about four months from October until January. Vanderbilt worked with us on the closing. But I was upset because it took so long and I was going in debt further and further every month while they were doing. But they were waiting for my house. My contact said I do not have to sell my house first to buy that. I’m qualified for it before they do that but they kept waiting. They would keep calling for me papers that had been sent to them or to send somebody and somebody did not share them, and so it was me having to do papers two or three times for different people. And I had no computer and printer, because they got locked up in January. When they want some information and it’s gonna go to two or three people, make sure that the two or three people get the same information.

I worked with Jersey, Chris and a Jennifer and they kept trying and trying. I finally called them and told them the man that I was buying the land from had given me until the 17th to have the contract signed, or he was gonna put my lot back on the market. On the 19th, they cleared me down to closing. I just barely kept my lot. But as far as addressing my questions and concerns, sometimes they were good and talking good.

I was supposed to have moved in in November with my mobile home, but Vanderbilt didn’t come through in November. On December, I was in the hospital all month. My daughter was trying to handle it and everything else. And I couldn’t do anything. Then in January, we told them that, “Okay, well, we’ll get right on it.” We signed it. The guy was supposed to get started. But then it snowed and then it rained, and then it did this and it did that. I got to the point where in the end of June, if I had not been so involved I think I would have backed out of the whole affair and went in a nursing home. We got in the first part of July. And we’re still working on different things in the house that needed fixing and haven’t been fixed.

I am glad I finally got in there and I’m beginning to relax from now but I still got a lot that I’ve got to work through. And I’m on home health care right now with exercising and trying to help me get to where I can walk better and get around better. I just wish Vanderbilt could have pushed it through quicker. And I regretted going to Vanderbilt because I’m thinking 1st Signature probably would have got me in quicker. But I was satisfied with most of my experience with Vanderbilt. I could call them and they would answer my phone calls usually every time I needed a question.

The entire loan process with Vanderbilt Mortgage was all pretty easy. Their application and underwriting process took less than a month from the time I applied to the time we were approved. Their procedure was standard but they frequently contacted me and made sure I knew what was going on. They were very easy to get a hold of and got questions answered if there were any. There wasn’t much work with them and they just let me know about the important dates and what I had to do.

However, there was one little miscommunication about a change in the closing cost pricing. What they said was being paid for in the price of the trailer, the construction cost and everything else seem to change every time I talk to them and the price continually went up on the trailer. It went from 85,000 to 105,000 somehow without any upgrades. Still, it was cleared up and after that the lending process was pretty straightforward.

Also, the only thing I’m dissatisfied in the whole process was their lack of control over the end quality of the construction that was done by the builder and the lack of inspections on Vanderbilt’s part to make sure that what they were investing in was what they thought it was gonna be. The paperwork specifies the grading around the house has to meet certain slope requirements to keep water from pulling up under the foundation and nobody bothered looking at that. I had to argue with the builder to get them to come out and fix it. Vanderbilt should be more careful about who they choose to finance loans for and the people that they use for constructing stuff. They should start their own little construction company and do it themselves so they know that the home they're financing is gonna be worth it in five years.

We had to deal with eight different people and every time it changed hands, we had to do the same paperwork over and over and over. It got to where I was just ready to throw my hands up. It seemed like every time we turned around, we were dealing with somebody else. It was aggravating. The loan officer you started with should be the one you would deal with through the whole process. But it was easy to communicate with them. Jeremy would call and let me know where I was and the next steps.

It was also very difficult to get ahold of someone. You may leave a message and it may take days to get back with somebody. When they leave a four-digit for you to get in touch with them, it goes straight to voicemail and when you leave a voicemail, it may take two or three days later before you hear from them. So I just went through the man at the trailer place and he got in touch with them for us. He got ahold of them within 30 minutes because he sent them an email.

Vanderbilt is awesome. They allowed me to wait until I sold the other home so that I would have the down payment. Being a single mom, saving money is just not all that feasible, which is why it took a little longer. But I never felt pressured that I had to hurry up and come up with the down payment. I was worried that there was not more follow up with the homeowner's insurance. I had to have a little more insurance than what was there because I had a dog. I had to go back and use that same homeowner's insurance company. Everything was done and closed but nothing was mentioned about how long I had to get State Farm. Unfortunately, State Farm couldn't proceed until the under pending was put up. Now, it's finally up and my first-month mortgage is already due on the first and I'm assuming I'll have to stick with that insurance, so I have to quickly get it covered.

Email, I understand but being able to talk to somebody in as old as I am, was good. With so many people trying to go through the loan process, I understand that they can't be there 24 hours a day waiting for one certain person to call. But I know that if I had a question, it was answered within 24 hours. Everything was great and they explained why things were taking longer as I was getting anxious to hear if I was approved.

There was nothing that they did not tell me. Every single thing, timeline, every process, and every legal issue was said within the first two conversations. I was not sitting back wondering if I was doing something right or wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole long talk for about 30 minutes and then boom. They approved me. It was awesome. The excitement was there the whole time and I cried when I was talking to the lady that called me. I would definitely recommend Vanderbilt Mortgage to anyone that I know.

I am writing to say how pleased I have been in my dealings with Vanderbilt Mortgage. They have kept me informed every step of the way and answered all my questions openly and honestly. I would say to prepare yourself for a long process but feel very strongly that it is the regulatory process versus the mortgage company itself. The application process was easy and all emails regarding loan status were followed up by a mailing. No service was performed without my agreement, i.e., appraisals etc. I would recommend them if you are considering a land home package on mobile homes.

Vanderbilt is a good company to work with and when I got a hold of the right people, they were all good and very helpful. It was easy to communicate with them, they answered all my questions and I was impressed with their friendliness. The application and underwriting process took a month and a half to complete, and my experience was good. But maybe they could assist more on the insurance side of it. They needed something really quick and I didn’t know about it until the last minute. And so, they should let people know about it so they can have more time to look for it. Also, I understand I had to work with a lot of different people for one thing to the next thing, but sometimes, I ended up contacting the wrong person. I wish there was some way to have someone to contact at one point in time.

They explained the step-by-step process, what everything meant, how the loan was going to operate, the money that would be paid in and how it will go toward paying the principal and the interest. We never even had any questions along the way since they had already answered everything before we had a chance to ask. Also, they called frequently to make sure we didn’t have any questions or if we needed them to help us with anything. The lending process went very smooth for us. We were very fortunate. We were impressed with the genuine sense that they really cared.

Vanderbilt went for an FHA loan and it took several months, then the FHA disapproved it due to me not having water on my lot. None of the reps addressed that until we had to reapply for a loan. I would have thought all those people would have noted that one. We had to go with a different type of loan and it took forever to get that done. But everybody's been nice other than that little egg we had. We've been at it since the first of February and it's all approved, and we're about ready to move in the house. We’re looking forward to getting moved in or out in the next week or so.

Vanderbilt Mortgage helped a lot. They had the lowest interest rate. At 7.52, that was unbelievable, but everybody else wanted 11. The guy I talked to was fantastic. The guy answered every one of my questions. He gave me the best interest rate and we closed pretty quick. He got right back with me and we talked every couple of days just to stay in touch about what was going on and stuff like that. All the other people never called and said, "Hey, we're doing this, we're doing that." Better give Vanderbilt a call if you wanna save some money.

Vanderbilt was very helpful and easy to work with. When the person that I initially worked with went on vacation, I had to work with somebody else and they had to pick up where that last person left off. But they were able to get it all approved. They went through and got everything together. At one point I asked them to rerun my credit because I was one point away from not having to have a down payment. But it still worked out fine because they were able to work things out towards the down payment. And I was grateful for that. They were able to get me approved for the bi-weekly process where it would save me $100 a month, which is nice. And the loan specialist that I worked with was very nice, very friendly, and seemed very eager to assist me however he could. It was a good process and it went very smoothly overall.

I was going in and out of the hospital a lot at that time for minor stuff so time got stuck for me a little bit. For the type of loan that I got, there wasn't a whole lot of customization to it, but they gave me a decent interest rate. It was a little higher than what I was hoping for but with the amount financed, it wasn’t bad. They kept me informed and everything was great. Though the home-buying process and getting the home from the people who got this set up took forever, the loan process was really simple and took a week and a half from start to finish. I couldn't have asked for an easier process.

I needed a mobile home loan and I’ve never heard of Vanderbilt before, but the mobile home company uses them. The application and underwriting process took about two weeks, which was quick. A representative who sounded like an older lady called me and we went through everything. She told me what I needed to know and what was gonna happen, which it did, and it went very well. The loan specialist was a very friendly young lady and she would call and send me texts and emails. She was efficient and she kept me informed all the way through. I didn’t have a whole bunch of questions but she answered them all. She told me what they needed if they needed anything, and it went really smooth.

Being 68 years old, I knew what Vanderbilt was looking for so I gathered up the paperwork about how much money I’d made and spent, and gave that to the mobile home company. I’d already given most of the paperwork to them and they basically faxed it to the loan specialist. And so, I didn’t have to come up with much of anything because I had already done it for the mobile home company. The process was easy and they didn’t give me a rough time about anything. It was all done by text, and emails, and telephone. Also, they have knowledgeable people who won’t put you off. If you got a question, they answer it right there and if they don’t have an answer, they’ll tell you that they'll get right back with you and then they will.

Then I was approved and they set a date. I met a person at the mobile home company and we signed all the paperwork and we were done. They also took care of the insurance. Everything was set up and I'm ready to make my first payment next month, which I’ve got it on auto pay. It worked out really good. So, if you can use Vanderbilt, then go ahead.

The application and underwriting process at Vanderbilt was extremely quick. It took a little longer but that’s because we had to adjust the signers. We added my mother-in-law to the loan to help with the debt ratio. So we had to do it again but that was our fault. Then we got our congratulation phone call on a Tuesday late afternoon and Friday morning we were signing on the closing. So they expedited that wonderfully.

Vanderbilt had given us a top priority during the processing. I had heard horror stories of sometimes taking a month for closing and I was like, “Well, dude, I guess you were just with the wrong bank because they take care of business in my place.” Vanderbilt did everything great. There was great communication, there was follow up and when there was more information needed, the contacted was right away.

The loan specialist had a vacation in the middle but made sure that there was someone else that was aware of it and gave us a point of contact so that if we had any questions, any information came back because we had to do the appraisal and all of that good stuff. He didn’t just let me leave voicemail after voicemail because he was out-of-town. And then once he came back the following week, he was right back on top of things and it was time to tie it up and get it signed.

I feel like it's a family company. From beginning to end and even a couple of weeks afterwards our specialist would call to see how things were coming with the home -- if we were in it yet because there was a lot that needed to be done from foundation and all of that. So give the information so Vanderbilt can help protect you from your own stupidity. Take a chance with them and trust them. They have good customer service and sense of urgency as far as getting things done, not just get around to it. I would definitely recommend Vanderbilt to anybody. If you want it done right, quick and cheap there is your place.

I had been wanting to move my home back here behind my dad's house for a long time and I wanted a brand new home. But I didn’t think I was gonna be able to do it. I tried to buy a home myself before and it didn’t go well with the company in the way they acted. My wife didn’t have a real good credit score either. In the end, I applied with Vanderbilt and they helped me out when a lot of people wouldn’t. I had zero problems with them too.

A guy called over the phone and went over a lot of stuff with me. It was easy to communicate with them and I felt comfortable. I had to talk to the guy three times and if he was busy when I called, I’d leave a message. He’d call right back and we’d discuss it. They pre-approved for me and then a lady called me and asked about finalizing the loan. They told me what I was approved for and what I had to pay down then I just paid the down. It wasn’t a long strung out process and I was happy with it. They did so good with me. I’ve seen a good many people say on Facebook that they've had a bad experience with Vanderbilt but I hadn’t anything but good. I’d tell others to call Vanderbilt.

We put the loan application in in February and the loan was tied up by April so it took roughly two months. We had to wait for the trailer to show up to close. I was in Wyoming and they were in Texas so I had to schedule it and go down there for the final walkthrough. Vanderbilt helped quite a bit in closing the loan. I knew what I needed as far as the paperwork went, but this was a different process and they were able to walk me through the loan and tell me how the trailer works versus a house and what papers were to be filled out.

My suggestion was to have a checklist that you tick off, showing the loan process once you’re approved then the process once that’s approved. When you close, you’re funding the loan and the people that you bought the trailer from would know the money is there. But they can’t get it until after you've booked the loan with Vanderbilt. Having that written down for people would be astronomical. I am such a visual person and talking on the phone was hard. Nobody told me about booking so having that process, like the steps you might go through, would be nice.

I was always calling and talking to Randy and he was always giving me advice on how things worked. He was very professional and courteous. He was always very personal and willing to explain anything over and over again. I wasn’t getting it and I got tired of asking the salesperson I bought the trailer from because I thought I was irritating him. I knew everything was okay but there was that uncomfortable feeling when you’re trying to think when you’re three states away and I wanted to be comfortable with the process. With Randy, I never felt like imposing. I had his extension number and whenever I had a question and he wasn’t there, I would leave him a message and he always got back to me relatively soon, like within the day. Sometimes it was even sooner than I expected. He was awesome and it was great to work with him.

When I questioned the price of the homeowner’s insurance that Vanderbilt got for my motorhome, they let me call a couple of companies to see if I could get a better price. The girl that handled the mortgage insurance part didn’t have a problem with the fact that I wanted to do that. And of course, Vanderbilt had come up with the best price so it really worked well. It was double what I pay at my little house in Wyoming so I was concerned of it being so high. But apparently, with all the hurricane and trouble with these types of mobile homes, the prices had been jacked up. The girl said she figured the same thing is gonna happen to homeowner’s policies in the next year because we’ve been having so much damage across United States and that made me feel better.

I also liked the fact that she explained that the insurance portion was built for mobile homes in that company that I was with and works solely with mobile homes. That made me feel better because they understand the market better. I had a great experience with Vanderbilt the whole way through. I never had any issues with them and I would tell others to go for Vanderbilt. They were honest and upright with me.

I had a whole bunch of different people calling and maybe there could have been just one main person. Also, every time I called Vanderbilt, I got an automated system and it was hard. I would try to get a hold of one person and then they'd pass it alternatively from one person to another. It was frustrating. Then one time, I called Chris, the loan officer in charge I knew, and left him a message but it took him a couple of days to get back to me. That was the only issue I had though. That aside, he was a people person and I really liked him.
