Vanderbilt called me and I told them what my income was and everything. Vanderbilt did good and the application and underwriting took three months. They did everything pretty quick. Once everything got approved, the place got put here and put up and I'm in it now.

Vanderbilt Mortgage kept in contact with us well and we were happy with them. One of their guys talked with my wife more than I talked with him and he kept us apprised. Jill, who we bought the house from, also got them on the line the one time when we had some questions. My wife and daughter were happy with them and we didn't have a whole lot of problems. I I basically went, signed the papers, and my daughter got a new home.

I started the application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt in February and it was completed in October. The home didn't have a lot of the paperwork like what it was supposed to be and that was what held up the process. But Vanderbilt tried to get it done as quick as possible. The process was back and forth and they did everything they could. They would email or call me about anything I needed to do and they were very upfront. They tell you exactly what you need and what you need to do.

Vanderbilt worked with me very well in closing my loan and they moved along pretty good. The application and underwriting process took six weeks. The rep answered any questions I had or told me what the next step was step-by-step, so it went well and the interaction was very good. Vanderbilt’s people made their decisions quickly and it helped me progress with what I wanted to do. Since working with them, I'm moving into my new home. If people are looking to buy manufactured homes, they should call Vanderbilt first and see what they can do for them before they shop around.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was good to us. The application and underwriting took about three weeks and they helped get the process move forward so we could finally get a close on the house. Conducting a business with them as well as the communication were easy. They called every other day just to see how everything was going, tell me how everything was coming along, and if they could do or help with anything. If they had a problem, they’d let us know and work with us. They were really cooperative and I felt comfortable with them. The lending officer was really nice too. If I needed anything, I could call him and he would call me, and we could work it out. Now, my girlfriend and I got out of my family’s house, moved in to another house, and she was helped out with her college.

Getting started with Vanderbilt Mortgage was an extremely easy and self-explanatory process, and it worked out really well. We did things in a three-step process and they kept me updated with emails and phone calls on what their news for me and how I could help them to further the application. Things went smoothly. Though I had to call their rep a couple of times just for some random questions that I had, she was always there to help me. She explained everything that I needed to know. The process was great overall, and if I had to do it again, Vanderbilt is where I wanna go.

From the time I put my application in with Vanderbilt Mortgage to the day I closed, the whole process took about two months at most. Vanderbilt helped me understand how their program worked and inquire something that wasn’t already on the inventory. It was very easy communicating with their reps. They informed me of any little change or anything that needs to be done that might benefit me. They made phone calls and routine emails just about every day to update me on the status, where I was in the loan process, and they kept me up to date on everything. If I had any questions, I'd either call them, which was most of the time, or send an email, and my question was answered the next day. Working with Vanderbilt had made my life a lot better. I’m glad I went with Vanderbilt.

I found Vanderbilt online and learned that they do mobile home loans. It’s more challenging to get a mobile, and Vanderbilt is one of the few companies with such loan. The lending process was simple and it being done all online was easy. The only complaint that I have is that I’ve had to deal with a lot of people. It was a bit confusing with so many people involved, and I never knew who to contact. That was the greatest challenge of it, and it would be awesome if they could streamline that. But it worked anyway. I was very happy with the customer service that I got from the individuals that I spoke with. If they didn’t know the answer, they were very upfront about it and said that they would get back to me with someone who would have the answer. I would recommend them.

We've been with Vanderbilt for 15 years and I've bought two houses with them. Recently, my application and underwriting process with them went well. We talked to their rep and set a price which both Vanderbilt and I were happy with. They got me the house and every time I called in, they gave me the right person. Vanderbilt quoted me a proposal and I explained to them that I didn’t think I’d be around for the 23 years. They explained to me that I could pay extra on the principal in order to pay it off in 12 to 15 years, depending on how much extra I paid on the principal. They came back with another proposal and got an estimate of what the escrow was gonna be and then we agreed on a price. I realized after they went into detail that I could not afford the original home that I would rather have. It costs $10,000 more than the one that I’ve got. But Vanderbilt worked with me to get a home that I needed, not exactly what I wanted, and at a price that I could afford. I was impressed with that and would recommend them.

They’ve given me time to get moved into the home before I actually had to make a payment. I got 45 days from the time that we signed the acceptance papers after the home was delivered and electricity was established. We actually did a walkthrough. And then when I got the paperwork back the first time, it was not due for that 45 days from the day that we signed and that was a surprise. I figured it would be a month from then. We didn’t actually get to move into the place for over a month after it was delivered because of all the rain delays and all the electrics. But when I finally did get in, I did not have to start paying on it until I actually was able to move into my home.

The application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt took a while because I had the wrong application and I put my daughter on it. I then took her back off and another program came up where I could probably get a house on my own. The process started in April and it was a few months after when I reapplied. But Vanderbilt had nothing to do with it. They did the best they could with what they had to work with and I had a wonderful experience with their reps. Their names were Dana, Amanda, KC, Wesley, and Jama. They were very polite and I enjoyed working with them. They were also very easy to talk to and I appreciate what they did.

They were very patient, too. They came right out and told me what I needed to do rather than some people really not caring and you're blindsided when you're asked to do something you didn’t know that was gonna be a part of what was going on. Aside from that, everybody at Vanderbilt was open and straightforward with me.

I had a couple questions and I called my loan specialist, David, and asked him and they were answered properly. If he didn't have the answer available, he would get it in a very timely fashion. He would contact me or have the information sent to me if I needed. Also, he had people follow up with me on a regular basis. Communicating with them was pretty easy and it can’t get much easier than every form of communication available. The application and underwriting process took four to six weeks and it was pretty straightforward. I’m happy with everything I’ve done with Vanderbilt at this time.

My ex-husband and I divorced in 2000 and it was in the divorce that I got the house. We were in a process of switching everything then he unexpectedly died. So the loan process with Vanderbilt ended up being such a mess. But Vanderbilt handled it very well. The rep I was in contact with all the time, Britney, was the most wonderful person and she deserves a raise. During the whole process, we were hit by hurricane Florence, so she called and checked on us when we were evacuated, but I'm sure she didn't have to do any of that stuff. It was because of her that I stayed with Vanderbilt. Aside from that, she called almost every day. If she said she'd call me back, then she'd call me back. We had to be gone for 10 days and so she followed through with everything.

We had a very complicated case and the application and underwriting took six months. But it was no fault of Vanderbilt. My ex-husband and I were on the loan together and when he died, we had to go through the estate and sign paperwork. Also, because of my ex-husband's wife, we had to go through lawyers and the state. We had to have a closing in two different areas as well because my ex-husband's wife didn't wanna meet with us. So, Vanderbilt had extra works to do. But Britney was wonderful. It was not a normal start to finish but she did everything. I've had to call Vanderbilt in between other stuff and nobody's been as great as her. Now my ex-husband is finally off my loan and I have everything in my name including all the insurance, taxes, and escrow. Working with Vanderbilt has really impacted my life because it changed everything for me and now my life is much better.

Their people are kind, considerate, caring and upbeat. They communicated everything and let me know. Then, when I would get down and I'm just about to give up, one of their reps would call me and give me a pep talk. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt's reps were pretty prompt through this whole process. When I asked for something, I submitted it and I had answers within hours. And as soon I had done what they asked, we could go right forward to the next step. I was impressed with how smooth the process went. The application and underwriting took a month to complete, but that was partly due to my taxes and it had nothing to do with Vanderbilt. I had to get my 2018 taxes finished up and submitted before we could continue. Communicating with Vanderbilt was also easy. If I didn't answer, they left me a voicemail and they sent text messages before I could call them right back. I run my own business, so I can’t always answer the phone. All in all, Vanderbilt got us in the house we wanted and they were really good for the home loan. I'd tell others to give them a shot.

I have an excellent credit score and so does my wife. We were sent an email saying, “This is all we need.” We got everything Vanderbilt needed in 30 minutes, but four or five days later, we were told something else was needed. We got them that as well. Another four or five days later, they told us they needed another thing. They should have told me upfront everything that they needed. I own a towing company in three cities and it’s kind of a hitch to be getting me to be able to do anything because I’m so busy towing cars. I run 20 trucks. That's why when they told me, “This is all you need,” but they turned out needing this and that, I'm like, “Man.” That really didn't bother me too much but that may bother somebody else.

Other than that everybody was very professional. I’ve told a couple of people about Vanderbilt. In my situation, we had a really nice house up for sale so we were waiting for people to close on that. We wound up with the chattel loan and it fit right in for us. People should use Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt is very easy to work with. When I applied up to when I closed, that took about 3 months. There was a period of 2 weeks where I had to wait and nothing happened. But other than that, they were on top of everything. I didn't have to jump through too many hoops and they were willing to help me when I had to jump through a hoop. I work in mortgage closing, so maybe my questions were more advanced than an average person would have.

The only thing that could have been improved on is updates on where we were along the way. There were a lot of points where I didn’t know what was happening. Also, it was a little hard to actually get the person I need to talk to on the phone. I don’t really know who had what position. I spoke to a young man named Logan more than anybody, but he had to do a lot of referring to someone else. But he was very friendly and he always returned my phone call. The problem is that I typically cannot answer my cellphone at work. I typically had to leave a voicemail, so we played a lot of phone tag. While there are some things that couldn’t be done through text, text messaging seems to be the best way because I could text whenever and then they could respond whenever. Nevertheless, I’m in a home now and I’m never leaving it. So, I’m a happy camper.

We went through the process of the trailer being manufactured and once it was done, we just had to sit and wait until we took occupation. Setting up the trailer was the most time-consuming but the loan process went swiftly and well. Everything was good and we told our friends that going through Vanderbilt was a great thing. Christy was the sales rep who told me what Vanderbilt needed from me and she was nice. She told me everything upfront and then she kept me up to date on everything. And everything she asked me to do, I did it. I had to get work done on my septic tank and I did it the same day she asked me to do it. If they needed something else, she would tell me and then I would call Vanderbilt, get the message from them and then fax them the paperwork.

But the process with Vanderbilt was tedious. I had a couple credit cards and they wanted me to pay off my loans. I understand that but there were minor $9 and $17 here and there that I paid off and they still needed proof that those were paid. I got this confirmation number and I had to get Christy and a person from the credit company in a three-way call to verify that. I also faxed them everything that they needed faxed but they still needed to talk to another person from the credit card company. So I said if that was what they needed, I was gonna do what I had to do. I just bit my tongue and did it.

I had to do it to get a house because I had nowhere to stay. I have Netflix on one credit card for $9 and my other bill is no more than $17, and those are on my card every month though. I told Vanderbilt that I would show them proof but next month, Netflix was gonna be back on my credit card. With Christy though, the experience was smooth at least.

The application and underwriting process at Vanderbilt Mortgage was handled in a timely fashion. I wasn’t sure what they wanted, so the lady who was helping me with buying a mobile home took care of everything and helped me fill out the application. It took about a week before I was told that I was approved. Then when I first started calling them and wanted some information, I kept trying to get the person that was taking care of the loan, but there was a receptionist that came on the line and kept telling me that it was their busiest and she was sorry that no one would give me a call back. I called four times and I couldn’t get anybody to call me back.

I’m still not in my house because of the rain and stuff, and I sent in a payment for October and November. However, I’m still not getting an amortization from Vanderbilt. I called customer service to get some information, and this lady was an absolute gem. She was apologizing all over the place, and there wasn’t a thing that she needed to apologize for because I wasn’t on the computer at the time because the house had not been delivered to my property due to the weather.

Several weeks later, an auditor called me and said that my payment date had been moved back. I told her that I already sent in two payments, but she could not see my account on the computer. I also told her that I wanted an amortization that was run by Vanderbilt showing that I would be paying 77,000 in interest because when I pulled it up on the computer, it was coming up with below 60s. She then called me back again and said that I could get it from customer service.

I got a welcome call several weeks ago and the Vanderbilt rep told me that my first payment was not due until March. I then asked what happened to my other two payments, which he said were applied to January and February. I’m fine with that. I also asked him about an amortization and he told me about this website where an amortization statement would be and I would be able to see my payments and what was applied.

I was disgruntled with Vanderbilt, at first, because I thought they were just really going super-slow, but that was because of the weather and they could not initiate anything until after my house was on the property. So, once I've understood that, I don’t have a problem with them at all. I’m still waiting for an amortization that shows me that I’m gonna pay them $77,000 in interest. But eventually, I’m sure somebody is gonna wake up and send me one.

Getting set up with Vanderbilt wasn’t hard at all because the credit was good, but when we had to sign all the papers after the underwriters and everything, the notary public we dealt with was rude. She was supposed to go over everything, but she gave us about 10 minutes of explanation and then I would be in the middle of asking a question and she would cut me right off. She did not even say goodbye nor shook our hands. But as far as dealing with Vanderbilt Mortgage, they had been great.

There was a lady from Vanderbilt who called me two different times and she was great. She's the one who ends up explaining things to me. Every question that I had, she answered and she told me certain things like what not to let the mobile home park do to us. She was very personable, down to earth and wonderful. Vanderbilt works with you and answers your question simply enough that you can understand. I would go through Vanderbilt again and I would recommend them.

The Vanderbilt Mortgage application and underwriting process took about four weeks but I wasn’t able to get all my paperwork together and get it to them properly. I didn’t fill out some of my paperwork correctly. Vanderbilt helped quite a bit though. They were very nice and they talked us through the paperwork very thoroughly. They called me multiple times to ask me if this is okay or if that’s okay, or if there’s any way they could make the process go faster. We talked for about 40 minutes about the forms we needed to fill out. There were a couple of W-2’s that I sent in but they needed a couple of more and it took me a while to get a hold of my W-2s. They ended up getting around and helping in pushing the process to make it go a little faster so I can get my W-2s.

I like the rep's enthusiasm to help us with this process and get us approved. It was really easy to communicate with him. He told me I that could call him at any point and time of the day. He said they closed at 5:00 but if need be, he can work with us after hours and take down some information for us. There were a couple of times that I called in and asked a couple of things and Vanderbilt was more than happy to help. Also, they were extremely transparent with us and everything that the paperwork involved. They didn’t take shortcuts with the paperwork. They walked us through step-by-step of everything that goes with the mortgage. With Vanderbilt, we were able to get our house and get in it in a quick manner.

Initially, they sent out the introduction as far as a “Meet your team” email and gave me all the contact information I needed for each person from the specialist to the underwriters to credit department to the processor. All of it was fantastic. Robin, the loan officer was very nice as well. It was easy communicating with her. Vanderbilt Mortgage is a great company. Vanderbilt's loan process was great. I was able to do it in between my load or after work because it was so hard for me to get off from work. I talked to them about it, so they worked around my schedule. When I met with their rep, he was willing to wait until I got there. I live in Jeanerette which is about 35 to 40 minutes away and at the time I got off my bus, he told me to take my time through traffic because he was not going anywhere. They also normally got back to me if I had a concern even if they sent an email and a lot of times, I didn't catch their calls because I was driving my bus. But I checked my email often when I got home in the evening or when I stopped somewhere.

At the time I could move in, they pushed the date back from my first payment, which was December 1st. I was wishing it would have been January but you can't have everything. Other than that, I had a good experience with them. We had some delays because of the weather but it wasn't their fault and the application process didn't take long. The transparency of their lending process was cool, too. There was one thing that I wanted that I couldn't get but the lady explained to me that I didn't wanna go above my means. I wanna have a double-wide trailer but with the income I was making, she was right because I still have to live. I can't just buy stuff and not be able to pay the rest of my bills. So, they didn't just let you do it, like some people who are gonna try to find a way then get stuck it in.

I went through Vanderbilt before when I was married and at the time I split up with my ex husband, he stopped paying the loans, so I had to take them over. Vanderbilt worked with me and I explained that to them when I was first getting this loan here as I was doing it by myself. It was like I was starting over and I was scared. Also, I don't like rejection because I work as hard as a I can taking care of my daughters and they told me not to worry. They also said that they were gonna do what they have to do and help me as much as they could. Then they got all the information and made it happen. I liked that because I didn't wanna go to anybody else because I wasn't familiar with anyone else. Other than that, I was telling one of my girlfriends to talk to Vanderbilt, even though she never did anything with them. You never know what it's gonna be unless you act, and you can only get a yes or no answer. It ain't gonna hurt to talk and to ask.

They send out some of the check to start repairs but the amount sent out won't even touch what we need to fix our roof not to mention our floors from the water damage and well. They seemed to not care at all when I asked about the procedure to obtain the rest of the funds.

This is our insurance money that we pay every month and they are distributing it to us like a child in a candy store. This is a ridiculous process to have to go through to get our home fixed. The hurricane occurred on 10-10-18 and our roof has been standing open all this time and then they send us only a portion of OUR money to get the repairs done!! If we can ever get our house refinanced with another lender... I will never refer this company to anyone EVER!!

Vanderbilt Mortgage handled my home loan process well. I am satisfied and I am so glad of what they did and if I do it again, I'll do the same thing and the way I did it. They got good people working for them and the trailer company had decent people working for them, too. The process took five days which was good enough. Also, their loan specialist was okay. My last payment will be 12 years from now and I'm gonna do my best to keep things with them.

Vanderbilt Mortgage took care of me well. Although the loan application and underwriting process took a little while, it wasn't really their fault. It was mine as I needed to get some information for them and I needed to get it off of my W-2s, but I cannot find my W-2s for me and my wife. I got some calls from them on a Saturday which were kind of just getting updates on whether my W-2s have come in yet or not or talking about what could be done to get it or have it quicker. They helped me get through the process, and they were always super kind and not pushy on anything. Then after I got the information, the whole process went pretty quickly.

The person who took care of me was super kind and really helpful with everything. She was on point and seemed like she was doing everything correctly. However, there were a couple of times where if I didn't talk to her and I would need talk to somebody else, they seemed a little clueless on where we were. They were just looking at the application and doing what they could with the knowledge they have. So, that took a little while. But other than that, the transparency of the lending process was good. Vanderbilt's reps explained everything completely every single time. It was like they almost repeated themselves so many times to make sure that I heard and understood everything. I'll tell other people to consider Vanderbilt.

I was with Vanderbilt kinda directly but kinda indirectly too. And everything went extremely well. Laura called me every now and then, asking questions, and she was very nice. Vanderbilt called me to get information and they had everything laid out as far as with flood insurance. I applied to other loan companies and they didn’t have all that information. They had basically just the loan, whereas, Vanderbilt had everything together. The application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt took about a month. However, it took a little longer to get my actual loan amount.

I didn’t see what my actual monthly note would be until I went to pick a loan company. The other companies had emailed me their layout and it was after I decided to go with Vanderbilt that I had actually got the stuff in the mail. But other than that, they're very transparent about everything. I knew the loan estimate and it was only $10 off of what the original quote was. So, they were pretty much on point. We also weren't able to get the loan that we originally applied for because the approval amount wouldn't have allowed us to get the FHA, so we wound up going with just a regular loan. Besides that, the process was quick and painless. Any time Vanderbilt ran into an issue, they were very prompt with letting me know about it and then what they needed to do next. Vanderbilt's loan process was transparent to the level that I would trust them as I would any other bank. The underwriting and application process took a month and a half. We had to wait until the house was finished, and then we were able to finalize the loan. Vanderbilt is in a different state than I am, and they called me when I was available. They made arrangements somehow to communicate with me. They communicated that my first payment would be determined depending on when the house would be finished. And they were communicative in that sense that I was always sure when the first payment was gonna be.

I talked with my rep, Matthew, a few times and we primarily interchanged on email because of the time difference. I would email him the day before and either I'd get a call the next day or an email within two days. We got the pre-approval done and I have good credit, so there wasn't any other inquiries from either side. The next time that they called was to re-confirm my employment and that everything was done and we were signing off on it.

My rep helped me work through the loan process. One of the reasons I went with Vanderbilt was because we were in a fragile situation where we were having a temporary experiment to put the home on. We don't own the land. It's our in-laws' property. We're trying to take care of our in-laws, and we needed to put a home on the property to be able to facilitate that. And we hadn't found any other banks that would be able to facilitate a home only loan. So, while I was talking to Matthew, he was able to facilitate coming up with a plan of what could be the type of loan we would be able to do.

But if I call to ask and somebody else answered, they might not be able to give me the answer to my question. Other than that, if anybody that I know wanted to do what I did but doesn’t have good credit, I would definitely recommend them to Vanderbilt. Although I had a gap in my work history, we got it taken care of. I’m pleased with my experience.

For the most part, everything was upfront and well-explained to me. It was also very easy to communicate with them during the loan process. They took their time and they were great. Everybody was nice, genuine and seemed like they were concerned and helpful towards getting everything closed out. Whenever the rep said she'd call back, she called back.

The application and underwriting process took less than a week. First off, I went in, looked at trailers, and found out which one I liked and wanted. I had filled out the application and I worked with Keith. He was very personable sharing with me about his kids and wife, and that he was becoming an uncle. I'm a teacher and he asked about my school and my kid. I could see him on another street, and he would know my name and about my family. He was excellent. He gave me his phone number, and I could text him, and he would answer right back.

His guy, David, got my information and said that based on my info, it looked like I was gonna be approved, so I should expect a callback from them right away, within two weeks. And within five days, I got a call. They told me they were gonna run my stuff, and then I have 180 days from that day to get approved. As long as I have the money by September the 9th, they will hold my loan up that long. I told them I could have the money by then. They said they would save it for me and they would put me on file, and I was good to go when I bring the money. It was very easy and simple. They were very nice and they would remind me and ask me how I was. They were checking on me, making sure that I was still looking, and wanting. They were interested in me even though I wasn’t an active customer. After that, I went in with my deposit. We closed the next week and we got the house that same week.

When they asked for paperwork, they would remind me about it and would allow me to ask questions. Or if I needed help finding or getting it, they would tell me where to go. So, they worked with me a lot. The lending process needs to be streamlined though. I turned something in to the local office here, but then the corporate office would send me an email saying they haven't received it. And so, they would call me, and then I would have to call them back and tell them that I already turned it in. Then, I would have to call here. But it was easy to communicate with them. They gave me many options to choose from to try to contact them and even directly screenshot information to their representatives.

Everybody in the office did excellently, was friendly and open to all kinds of crazy questions from a 37-year-old who has never bought anything other than a car. They went above and beyond. I called up there many times just to check and see, and everybody knew the answer. If they didn’t, they found the answer and called me right back. However, we’re having a little bit of hiccups with the water department who is supposed to get out there. It’s part of my loan, and it’s still not done. I'm about to pay my mortgage, and I’m not yet able to live in the house which I got for a month and half now. So, that’s a little annoying. But other than that, Keith had someone come out and fix the damages. Except for a few things that are needed to be done like the hooking up of the sewage and getting the underpinning, everything has been great and I already have recommended them to somebody.

Vanderbilt did a wonderful job. They contacted me before anybody else did when it came to getting me the best loan possible. However, the third-party or the home dealers were atrocious. I’ve had better experiences getting teeth pulled. Information was not being passed properly and nobody was contacting me until the last minute in needing paperwork done. The home dealer's rep was also not doing his job on their side quick enough to make the process smooth. The paperwork was dragged on in two or three occasions, so I just sent it directly to Vanderbilt to speed up the process instead of dealing with the salesperson at the trailer place.

Vanderbilt was a very impressive lender compared to a few of the others that called me. When my loan specialist contacted me and I was unable to talk with him at that moment, he said he’d call me back and he did. He called me at a better time and we talked for 30 or 40 minutes, then he adjusted my application to best suit my needs. He also informed me about what would best suit my needs even if it did not positively affect them and I was impressed with his professional attitude since square one. Other than that, Vanderbilt sent me better information that I may not have comprehended at that time when I was filling out the application at the home office at the trailer place. Every time I had a question, it was like they all knew about it and they all contacted me. The whole application and underwriting process took an average of three months but I had a good experience with the people I dealt with at Vanderbilt. I would turn anybody and everybody to them.

We went to a home center where we picked out our home. There, we got the application for Vanderbilt and filled it out. We then got contacted by Sierra from Vanderbilt who is is a really nice young lady. She explained everything about the loan and told us that we could call her any time we have a question. Our application in Vanderbilt was a lot of paperwork, legal runaround, and back-and-forth stuff. Still, their reps worked with us. Every time something came up, they would call us or send us an email.

The process took about 12 to 13 weeks but they were really nice about it. Working with Vanderbilt was a good experience. In terms of the mortgage payment and the downpayment, everything was to our satisfaction. We are very satisfied with the home as well. Vanderbilt is a good company to work with because they work with customers. If we were having any problems coming up with documents, they would give us information on how to go about getting those documents and where to go. I will recommend them highly to anybody who is in the market for buying a home.

My mother financed a single wide with Vanderbilt back in ’86. I was there and I said that if I ever went back with somebody, I wanted it to be like Vanderbilt. Then when we went to buy a modular, we ended up getting Vanderbilt. So it was a win-win situation. It was our first time purchasing a home and we had read about certain things that you need to purchase a home. We tried to get much of what we needed to have and what we knew to have in place to make the process easy. But along the way, we ran into a couple of hiccups with some of our information.

But Vanderbilt actually made it easy for us to go through the process. All calls were answered and returned too. They were prompt and they were right there with me through the issues. When we ran into an obstacle, they pretty much showed me the right direction that I should go to get it taken care of. We were going through a checklist and when I met one obligation, we moved on to the next thing. We went down the list and it was a good experience for me.

The first guy I talked to at Vanderbilt was very positive and uplifting. He gave me the motivation to see it through to the end. I worked with a lot of different people and when we got out of one team’s zone, we went to the next zone with that team. Whatever their specialty was, we would get that information. Michael, in particular, was very helpful and was instrumental in getting me started. He steered me in the right direction and motivated me to keep going. A lot of people think they would do this and that then it would be over with. Michael told me it was more of a process that we had to go through.

It was a real learning experience. The process was not hard or tedious. But there are certain criteria that you have to meet and things that they need you to provide them with. The quicker you provide them with the information they need, the quicker you can move on to your next situation. Once we got everything checked off the checklist – all the information they needed, everything we needed to provide them with and everything they needed to provide us with – we then signed the deal. It was that easy. I would definitely recommend Vanderbilt Mortgage because they’re very easy to work with. It’s not, “Well, either we’re gonna do this or we’re not gonna do this.” They guide you as much as the federal laws allow them to tell you.

We moved in a modular home in February. Then, it went on and had some trouble. The land we bought from my mother-in-law is in Wayland. It was around 90 days before they even started foreclosing. I live out in the country, and that happens quite a bit out there. I felt like it shouldn’t have been a long tie-up on that part, but that may not be as common as I think it is. But they looked out for the customer a lot. And it didn’t look like they were just trying to take the home back, cause I was surprised to see some stuff that I didn’t expect to be on there at all.

In the meanwhile, our credit card has run out, so my wife filed another credit card. However, she had to pay $50 extra a month, which she didn’t know ‘cause she didn’t pay it for three months while all this was going on. So I messed my credit up a little bit. We had to go to a smaller home, and then things happened pretty fast after that.

Vanderbilt was consistently in touch with me which helped me a lot ‘cause I’ve never bought a home before. They emailed me at least once a week telling me to call if I had a question and helped any way I asked. They were also more patient than what I would be. My boyfriend and I went to Vanderbilt Mortgage one day, looked at homes, and decided we wanted to buy just to see what we'd get approved for. I submitted the application with my information on it then when they sent it all in and we figured out what we got approved for, we picked out our home. It was super easy. From application to approval, it took only about a week. The people at Vanderbilt were wonderful and helpful too. They called me when they needed something from me and I got my stuff sent in whenever they asked me for it. Vanderbilt has been great with everything and I was happy with them. My mom and my sister both have a loan through them as well.

It's very easy to conduct business with Vanderbilt Mortgage. They talked to me on the phone about everything I needed to know and were very communicative during the loan process. Then whenever I've had a question or concern, I've called them and got somebody on the phone. The wait times weren't so long and also, they’ve satisfied me by the time I got off the phone with them.

I've spoken to three loan specialists and I was impressed with the way they handled their business, getting back with me and letting me know things. I’ve had deals with other people where I was at the bottom of the line and it seemed that I just didn’t matter. But at Vanderbilt, they took care of me and helped me in any way they could. I also felt that one of the loan officers I spoke to treated me the best way that he could and got me the best deal that he could get. But since Vanderbilt was not local, which would have improved the process if they were, we interacted mostly on the phone. Still, it was a very good back and forth between me and that loan officer and was everything I expected to be.

The loan process took weeks to complete which was not very long at all. Then to help close the loan, Vanderbilt sent a lady over to the office in Statesboro. They also have different ways to pay the bill, I can do it online, over the phone, or through the mail. Overall, I'm satisfied with Vanderbilt. They put me in a home for the first time in my life. I just made my first payment, but from what I've seen, everything should be good and smooth.

My mama loves Vanderbilt and that is all she uses considering she's rough around the edges. In fact, Vanderbilt has helped my mama buy rental properties. We own a bunch of property in York, South Carolina and they have financed them. Their lending process was good. We applied for a loan from them at the end of March and I loved that they didn’t make my mama put down a big deposit. Their rep was wonderful but I didn’t like that they changed so many people when you go from one stage to the other. I got one guy call me at the beginning and then a different person called me in the middle and you have to explain everything over again. I always wished they had one person handle the loan throughout. Nonetheless, it was very easy to communicate with them and I loved the people that called. They were so friendly.

We went to a trailer company and bought a trailer. The loan went through the mobile home dealer, but I spoke to Vanderbilt several times on the phone while they were processing the loan. They told me the things that they needed, which I would fax to the trailer company and then the trailer company would fax it to Vanderbilt. Getting everything lined out took a week and a half.

Vanderbilt went over everything really well. I just had to pick the options that I wanted. Laura, the loan specialist, was really good at helping me with everything. I spoke to her several times during the process. She explained about if I had the land tied with it or if I just had a down payment, the insurance, the taxes, everything that is included in the payments so that I don't have to pay damages. It's just one bill each month. And she helped me with the 911 address and the flood zone if I needed flood insurance.

The transparency of Vanderbilt Mortgage's lending process was very good. Everybody was really thorough. Even when I went to sign the papers, the notary public who works for Vanderbilt went over everything in detail, asked me if I had any questions and explained things. Vanderbilt Mortgage was one of the easiest companies to work with. They really worked with me and tried to help me. There were a couple of times I had to call them and I didn't have any problems getting through to somebody. If they didn't answer their phone, they called me back within a couple of hours.

The whole application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt Mortgage took less than five weeks and it was relatively quick. I went through the company I bought my house from and Vanderbilt handled most of the loan process. I just had to answer a couple of questions. When the process first started, the loan specialist called me and told me everything was okay and that I was approved for the loan, and told me how everything works. Recently, they did a welcome call where the rep ran down a whole list of things that I need to keep an eye open for and also how the loan really works, the ins-and-outs of the loan, the different methods of payment of the loan, and the details that I was really appreciative of. The loan specialist was really upbeat and he wasn’t hard to talk to at all. He acted as he cared about what he was talking about, so I appreciated that and I was impressed with him.

Vanderbilt has been really easy to work with. They always gave me a phone number to call if I had any issues and they continued to still call and check in, so they’ve done a really good job with that. I had three different options, as far as lending goes, and Vanderbilt was hands down the most ideal, as far as the interest rate. They could have made it hard for me to get in my house if they wanted to or even to get a house, but they were good to me, so I would definitely work with them again.

Then he had gone to another department, and the lady loan officer that was assigned to me was just as welcoming and easy to talk to. I told her all my experiences and I felt like she was on my team. I've been really sick and she understood that and she did not let me have to wonder about anything. All I had to do was get her the information that she needed. It felt like she was a person that I knew. She wanted me to get the loan like she was a part of my family that was pulling for me for all of these to work out for me.

When my other house got burnt, I applied for a home loan around the 30th of April and the whole process took a little over four months. I got approved in June, signed the paperwork in July and I was in my home in August. The reps were informative and they sent stuff to my mailbox in McEwen. Also, they were good about explaining about some legal stuff I don't really understand. This being the third home I bought from them, it's a lot different now than it used to be. I used to get into my house in no time but mobile homes have improved a lot. I love this one I have now because it has a lot of features like a conventional house and I'm enjoying it.

The reps were also upfront about everything and if they didn't know something right away, they would get back to me so I appreciate that. But everything takes time and like everybody else, my patience wears thin. But I have to sit back and think that it’s a business and I’m not the only one trying to get a home loan. It was very stressful when my house got burnt. I'm going on 70 years old and I'm starting over now.
